"Estimate. It's 1210, a thief turned superhero is back as Paul Rudd puts on his superhero suit once again. It's the third installment of the ant man franchise. Vulture critic Jen chaney says, while she liked the first two ant man movies, this one, not so much. The premise here is that ant man's daughter, Cassie, has been doing some experimenting and she's been creating this device that unfortunately accidentally zaps her and her dad and Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly into the quantum realm from which Michelle Pfeiffer's character had escaped. So they're goal in this movie is to get out of there to get back home. But really the point of this movie is to introduce this new villain Kang the conqueror who's played by Jonathan majors, who's very menacing and is going to factor into a lot of the marvel movies going forward. I think my problem with this movie is that because it takes place in this quantum realm, it's in the CGI world that just I have a really hard time connecting with. So it's like they're just in a void the entire movie and I don't I don't love that. But there were some people around me in the theater that seemed to enjoy it. So I'm sure people who are into marvel will be interested to see where this goes. Sounds like the strength of this would be the performers and perhaps the special effects. I did not love the special effects. I do like everybody in the cast, although if a movie has Paul Rudd and it's still like Paul Rudd's charms can't carry the movie for me, that's a problem. Let's switch and talk about this new sitcom on Fox called animal control. It features Joel McHale and the lead role. If you missed the debut on the network, it's streaming on Hulu as well. I'm hearing that this sitcom feels very familiar. How did it sit with you? I actually, I thought it has a lot of potential. It's basically about animal control workers. If you remember the column animal watch in the post that was always about like, here's this thing that happened with an animal. It's like the animal watch column as a show. But it's basically like it's a workplace comedy. And I kind of enjoyed the first couple episodes. I got to see a little bit more than people saw with the debut. As you mentioned, it's streaming on Hulu now if you missed the debut last night and it's going to roll out every Thursday on Fox from here going forward. On Skype, that's vulture critic

And to get back out there and sing that with her, who I love her, her voice is so beautiful. And it was just fun, fun energy. We had a really good time together. Definitely made me miss a stage and singing. So are you gonna come out with a new album? I was like, okay, I keep saying, I'm coming out with an album. I'm coming out with an album. And now I have to. You know, but then I keep having babies. Fingers crossed for new music, we are so ready for it, Ashley. We also want to send a huge congrats to our friends over at the Jennifer Hudson show and the sherry show for their season two renewals. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the third installment of the hit movie, my big fat Greek wedding, and at the New York premiere of a man called Otto, Garrett Vogel acts producer, Rita Wilson for an update on the sequel. Can you tell us anything about my big fat Greek wedding? Three. That it's coming. It's fun. Have you got to see it yet in its entirety? Oh, no, I've seen it, but I can't tell you much about it. You have a smile on your face. I'm only of our dollars directed it. She, of course, wrote it and stars in it, and it was for me. Michael Avenatti Convicted of Stealing From Stormy Daniels
"Attorney Michael avenatti has been found guilty of what? Stealing $300,000 from his own client stormy Daniels. And now avenatti has had it not to The White House, but to the big House. It remains an open question, what his sentence is going to be. But just to refresh, I've talked about this case before. Avenatti was accused and he's now found guilty of doing what? Well. When stormy Daniels signed up to write a book, she was apparently offered an advance of $800,000, but payable in three installments. So she got the first installment, but then avenatti when the second and third installment were due, avenatti set up his own account. And he essentially masqueraded as stormy Daniels. And he got the money sent not to stormy Daniels, but to his account, so he intercepted her money and took it for himself and used it on his own luxuries and to buy this and to buy that and to settle this debt and so on. And so stormy Dan is like, where's the money? And avenatti kept sort of putting her off and lying to her and in any case so she finally reported him. And so it turns out that he was found guilty, not just a theft, but also of wire fraud and of impersonating another person. So this is bad because when you add all this up, we're looking at, well, the aggravated identity theft charge. That carries a mandatory two years. So we know we're not going to be seeing avenatti for the next two years unless he's going to be doing CNN interviews with Brian stelter from

But I wonder if that would affect taste. It has to you. You would almost think so. Yes, yes. Sounds like you're drinking, rubbing alcohol or something. Maybe almost did you know that beer and marijuana are both from the same fit or hops? The hops that are used to make beer are in the same family as the flowering plants of weed. No, I did not know. "To use weird and wonderful wonderfully written story of interesting nuance characters. That i instantly fell in love with most of its fresh ideas. Go a long way toward elevating the second thoughts formula into the modern era. Though it's enticing new equitable pin system can be a little little too stingy. Double fine has also done a great job of expanding. This universe toward both grander and more intimate threats without losing the joyous childhood adventure vibes of the original. It may bring a bit of that. Mid-2000s action platformer clumsiness. Along with it. But second thoughts to you is still just about everything i could have hoped for from a sequel to one of my favorite games. Andrew reiner given former gave it a nine out of ten and says over. Sixteen years have passed between sacco games but not much. Time has elapsed protagonist response Okay raza quavo. His scratchy high pitched voice still screams of youthful inexperience and his actions. Almost always show an eagerness to learn. That's precisely what developer double fine productions has also done over the years. Time is allowed this art house studio to hone it. It's platforming craft sharp already hilarious wit and creates a sequel that shows off the tremendous complexity of the human brain and the thrill of unearthing. it's wonders i adored. Almost every second or second to it achieves something. I don't often seen games a continual sense of all as each of its worlds and falls. It took sixteen years. It took sixteen years to reach release but double fine has delivered incredible sequel. I hope we get a third installment that doesn't take nearly as long to create

"Had responded to a nine one one call and gets welcome to the party. By bruce willis character. John maclean when he throws the body of one of the dead terrorists out the window onto his police cruiser from then on out they become the best friends and they are in this together from that point on the film becomes a game of cat-and-mouse where john mclean is both trying to prevent terrorists from gaining a larger hole within the building while also doing his best to survive throughout the film throughout this journey. You see the main character of john maclean. Experienced immense highs and incredible lows and bruce willis does a tremendous job of making a stubborn obnoxious character incredibly likeable and someone that the audience is bullying for. Which is what makes it one of the greatest all time action movies of all time without a doubt the greatest christmas movie of all time and just one of the best flat-out films of all time now as far as the sequels are concerned not so much kind of the only good one is die hard with vengeance which stars samuel l. jackson alongside bruce willis as they attempt to foil. The scheme of jeremy irons is simon. Gruber who is out for revenge against john mclaughlin. The second movie is really weird on a whole lot of levels. It repeats the taking place during christmas. Time trope only this time. John mclean is now in an airport. The fourth movie is all right. Die hard with a vengeance which stars justin long as a computer hacker. Trying to help. Bruce willis takedown timothy all character and for full transparency. I have not seen the most recent die hard movie. I think it was called a good day to die hard from that title. I just guess that a kind of sucked and with the main brasov john maclean having to come face to face with his son who is now on the wrong side of the law. I'm pretty accurate assumption. But again none of this takes away from the brilliance of the original. Die hard film. If you haven't seen it go see it. And that is this week's installment from the book a thousand one movies you must see before you die switching gears to a new action movie. That's being released. We're going to talk about the new film. Snake is. This is the third in the gi joe franchise and i just have a feeling it by no means will be the last this movie and this movie franchise as a whole just seems like a way to sell other stuff including toys video games and build anticipation for other. Gi joe related product lines such as the animated series that was announced to be fair. This is not one of those modern day. Type of cash grabs gi. Joe has been doing that since the very beginning of their existence. The show was created to help sell the toys. The movies were created to help promote the show and sell the toys. And this reboot trilogy. We have gotten is more of the same. And i will be completely honest. I have not seen either of the first films in this. Gi joe trilogy. Don't think i ever will. The only thing i really know about them is one star channing. Tatum and he agreed to come back and do the second one on the condition that they kill him off early in the film. Yet despite the lead actor in the franchise not wanting to be involved in it anymore beyond receiving a paycheck here we are at the third installment of the franchise and one of the coolest characters in gi. Joe lower snake. Guys is getting an origin story..

I was uncertain about what to say to jesse jackson. Or how to say it. If i knew. Then what. I know now i would never have wasted even a single minute doubting my path because when it comes to matters of the heart emotion connection and speaking in front of large audiences i thrive. Something happens between me and whomever i'm engaged with. I can feel them. And since that are vibe and right back with me. That's because i know for sure that anything i've been through our felt they have to and probably more so the great connection i feel with everybody speak to stems from being aware that we are all on the same path all of us wanting the same things love joy. But like seeing logan and floyd fight is a very interesting thing to watch Next up lord is put out of music. Apparently she is so apparently there. She was running on twitter. I want some points this week where she was teasing a new song. Her website had changed earlier this week. I'm just. I don't know what the you know. The the u. r. l. is for the website i'm guessing it's like lord dot com but Yeah apparently her website updated this week and it shows speculations of an image. Somebody will lead to be like an album or single cover and actually that that happened to begin this week. Like reports have happened to begin of this week but then now once it's thursday thursday The the song. I forgot the song name is something. Solar got released accidentally releasing some other countries other than the usa. But it was taken out immediately lobby streaming services and Yeah a lot of things. Were going crazy. People were you know now. Now getting the billie eilish and delivered rigo hype train and not going back to lord you know as lord was very very dominant figure in music. Back in like is a lake. Twenty thirteen twenty fourteen Had a lot of good songs from royals Teams or team There's a she has a budget other songs. But who knows maybe she'll collaborate with of more modern artists and the which which something very exciting because you know back then. Lord played a lot of songs that were just by herself or barely any features within their songs and now with a more modern sense of new artists and having this new world of rapid social media and stuff like that like Obviously she's going to have to have a feature that a lot of people love you know maybe Maybe it's all of your argo. Maybe actually that's a little bit to a little bit too early for elite radio but maybe someone that maybe someone here like you know in more within the past year or not but again. That's pretty cool lord coming back. I've always been sort of like a big fan of her music. I've never been a huge huge fan but stuff does she put out like i've actually actively listen to I can't think of any songs other than like royals and team. Because i i haven't listened to music ever since then but whack when she was popping back then i was like on her music Yeah again really really cool Popular podcast frenemies is coming to an end We're gonna talk about like my next segment just to go deeper into the whole situation. But tricia payday is down as host as a co host on the show. Frenemies with a client is if you know him. He's part of the each three podcasts or just the youtube channel h three h three Complications going on with that whole situation. So we i think we're gonna try to break it down. She that decided to step down and It was it was weird you know. They seemed like they had a lot. They had good relationship and good connection on the internet. But guess not Next up for that For the news Migos probably as report to have you know the the rap trio offset takeoff and quavo america. yeah all three of them Known as the migos is releasing is planning to release a new album this friday. I think it's It's culture three. So obviously they've had two previous culture Was like the titles of their albums have been culture so this is the third installment of their whole series of cultures and I mean maybe that's why it's three because there's three of them so that's pretty cool. I think i'm like i'm not the biggest fan. Like i am a big fan of their of their music. Kosovo mega fan. You know like i. I will listen to their song will listen to the music. And i like alive of their songs walkie-talkie it's narcos Bbdo it's inappropriate song but I have a bunch of good great song. Stir fry Yeah it was a good one to have a lot of good song those songs. I just listen. Listen more mainstream. But you know it's i liked your music I'll give it a listen. You know i'm not the type of. I don't know why it's just me but like whenever someone like someone or a group of people release a new album i take months to to listen to it. or even this shows to like i never like watched new shows unlike honestly like really good but i never watched shows on until like i do a later than everyone else so i watched the office very rarely that the trend obviously didn't watch it when it was first coming out back in early two thousands because i was too young at the time to watch it but like there was a hype with a couple years ago over the office and i wash like a year after the hype now after the fraser. Union i'm watching friends now So yeah i'm i'm very sort of things and same thing with migos. Hopefully i'm going to try. I'm going to try to lake. Listen listen to jacobs. Starting from the third installment of you play the other two. Nah nah i just did it could spray live by. I am not particularly passionate about the tomb raider franchise but i have always been curious to do like the unshod games on stand like this. Is i've drawn a lot of influence from that. I do find so far with my experience. A hold on it. It's the other way around. You know there is. I'm trying to took inspiration. Uncharted took inspiration from team right. Like i mean it's been going on for for decades yell on. China took inspiration for a lot of things. I guess tomb raider is one of those. But i think you're not mechanically speaking out now if it took off and term right up The alternate is waste but yeah with the new the new playing. I'm finding like it feels like i'm never said this about a game before it's almost too scripted and i usually prefer scripted games but like i'm just finding maybe it's because i'm in the early stages still but i'm dislike this other. These puzzles which like. I don't like the way the puzzles odd. Because they usually very obvious if you not me exact right particular spot things. That seem obvious starts into work. Maybe just maybe. I'm usually fallen into trust with games like that. To be very positioned in a very specific way for things to trigger. I'd get that hoffa now on this one thing where you shoot an hour into the sting and boy stinks of like zip line. Then i got mad looked up on youtube same. What i was doing was right to stand slightly closer to it. And then i did that. And it's like okay just frustrating and just attention games. Yeah cool how. It's like. Do respect like the whole more serious vibe and i can see where the movie took its influence from. But i don't know if i'm going to stick with this them. I'm gonna wait a planet though. The CheapWineFinder Podcast
Chronic Cellars Pink Pedals 2018 Review
"Jay from cheap wine fighter.com. What's the third installment of our Halloween lines twenty-twenty series and this time we have thought we got here Lee grabbed the bottle and it is Chronic Cellars pink petals s a p e d a l s as in bicycle, and it is a Halloween line because off the label has a female skeleton nicely dressed or a bike rider. And running a pink bike with a basket in front and then the basket there is a skeleton dog not scary. But in the Halloween kind of Day of the Dead kind of thing going on their skeletons just white is not paid it but there we go and It's kind of funny because when I was looking to find wines for you know this series I found a red wine from Trader Joe's and a white wife and I think Chardonnay and now I found a rose a I picked wines with skeletons on it. So often that I didn't really leave a whole bunch for myself. I'm a reason why I pick that cuz my theory is that you actually can you know, like you can't choose a book by it's cover where you can choose a wine box label. Because a skeletal line is going to be a ripe Bowl juicy one, but adults, you know, it's for some reason it's it's aimed at certain likes they're one's a certain way like stir labels little off-kilter but wants an adult why we have here this is off. This is not a fluffy little light and Grizzly Rose a it's got its got some body to the palette. That's kind of a firm Sleek wine. The the other knows just feel subtle. But you know interesting it's got some flavors of them take a sip off. It's one of those wines that kind of grow on you as you as you drink it. You're at first you go. And then you kind of kind of get what's going on. There's there's green-apple. There's a cherry there is little creamy thing. Not sure where that's coming from dead leaves or whatever. It's got really good acidity. Let's the flavors unfold and plus it gets you reaching for your glass a little bit sooner than you normally would it off but it doesn't fight cuz sometimes you can get a little bit too much acid in these wines and this one doesn't have that. So what's up pretty nice little little wage. I mean, it's I think I found it for twelve. These are wines that are sold at Whole Foods. You find them a lot in supermarkets. You can find them in look wine shop, too. But they were the sons of the man who ran Peachy Canyon wines broke off on their own and started the just labeled back in the lake Palm two thousand and what happens when you get a hot one happens all the time. Is that the demand gross the point where you have to make more and more wine and to do that you need more money. So it means you have to go in debt to do that. And when you got a hot one, there's always someone there to watch throw a bunch of money at the label. You've already brought, you know up to where people are looking for and liking it. So it's like a choice do I go into debt off or do I take their money that I can think of a whole and I'm not sure that that's what they did. It's the Beckett Brothers, you know, I don't know what their mindset was, but I've seen it time and time again that people you know, all these big-name line Brands. They're all owned by somebody who didn't start them and a lot of them cuz they just had it, you know is either going to debt or take a huge amount of money and when you have that as a as a proposition to you people take the money. Two brothers who made The Chronic Cellars and were the sons of Peachy Canyon are now running Peachy Canyon again. So if you like Chronic Cellars start looking for a future Canon and this is a pretty decent wage even when it's not Halloween. This is a year-round Rose a it's got somebody it's 88% Syrah 12% red eyes. It's kind of a rhone-style the French know what they're doing with rozay and this kind of fouls that's from Paso Robles r a v a hundred percent from Paso Robles contracted thousands of Chronic Cellars doesn't have their own Vineyards, but that's okay. And that's it.

Iroquois History and Legends
Ely Parker The Commissioner of Indian Affairs
"Hello and welcome to era KOI history and legends. I'm Andrew. And I am Caleb, and welcome back to our third installment on Ellie Parker. In May of eighteen, sixty, five, ely parker returned to Washington. DC, and he and grant met with the president again. President Johnson this time Parker was still very angry about the death of Lincoln and is said to have said at a military parade. He white men are Christians, and you may forgive murder. The I'm of a race never forgives the murder of a friend which I find this quote kind of interesting because he was a Christian. He his father was a preacher, and he was a member of a of an Anglican church later in his life. So that I think it's the point is getting across that he really harbored some bitterness towards the the confederates. If you remember from our. Our last episode couple of weeks before this when Abraham Lincoln is talking to him on how he wants to help his people think Parker was really excited to have a president that actually cared about the Indians, and I think he believed honesty when he said that this must have been a you know on top of him considering Abraham Lincoln a friend, but also all of a sudden. His plans for the future for his people have just been crushed with the death of Abraham Lincoln, and we don't know what would have been head Lincoln been able to finish his second term. Lincoln definitely had some very. Questionable tactics dealing with a Western tribes during the civil war. He or some people to do some some bad stuff that being said I think that Lincoln really did have an appreciation for the the Iroquois nations, and really did want to to help them in the following months Parker remained at grant side, he helped shield him from the the masses for a word. We would use today. The Paparazzi the general was the hero of the war. He's the one that got lead to surrender. Everywhere. He went. People mobbed him. They literally had to beat people away when grant was trying to get some sleep on a train. People were breaking windows. Just try to get in and shake his hand. They said the grants hand was. Crippled because so many people wanted to shake in talk to them as they toured the North Grant, and his family came to Niagara Falls to rest and recuperate and Parker said I'll take your kids, and which is always great when somebody offers to do that, he just takes the kids and take some to the tunnel under reservation for some days to stay at his sister's house. In the fall of that year he was appointed to a commission to serve on a board to help with negotiating with a dozen or so native American nations that adjoined the confederates. We even have a chance to talk about this, but there were all these indigenous nations in the south. Many of them head slaves as well, and they were really sympathetic to the southern 'cause they were intertwined. and politically so here's a little history tidbit fact for Caleb. Do you know who the last general to surrender in the confederacy was? No idea neither did I, but I put it in the notes so I would remember. He was a Cherokee brigadier general named stand. Wadey must be the southward a little more lenient with their commissions. Yeah really, but he he commanded hundreds of troops and lead people around on a wild goose chase, refusing to surrender, even after the confederacy had surrendered, but like this is June twenty third. This is a full two or three months after a everything has wound down, it also kind of sets the stage for you know because we all know about like the the Indian wars in. In the eighteen eighties and stuff like that in the old western kind of see how a Lotta that this conflict never really ended this Cherokee general with America like eventually make some sort of peace, but you can tell it. It's GONNA be a shallow peace, and that will be trouble for the next several decades in eighteen, sixty, six one of grant's top officers colonel, bowers. was killed tragically by train, and why it's so tragic is he was a close friend of Parker in grand. You know he's one of the general. Staff and they were all on a train and grant got on the train and realized he left something back at the hotel. Something completely, not important handkerchief a book, a letter from his mom something like that. and. He just said Oh darn. I accidentally left that back there. Oh well. And bowers without saying anything to grant slipped away, and he was gonNA. Run back and grab it. Is. He was trying to be a good a good friend and a good underlying to the general in doing so he ended up. If you can picture, all these train tracks with all the trains going every which way he got trapped in between trains going different directions than he was killed crushed. So grant talks to this man a couple of minutes before, and then you know, he slips away. Grant never told him to go back and get it, and then people say a man was killed on tracks. He says Oh. That's terrible, and then it comes in that. It was his friend. It had fought with him through the whole civil war, and he was dead, just like that grant was so depressed that he told Parker that he was not going to be able to attend the funeral. Lots of people say things like that, and then the funeral date comes and guess who is there. A Grant Parker and all the staff were there for Colonel Bowers and his family

Because you get really good sound quality in your closet However it was very lonely and so I'm really happy to get to record today's Podcast episode and offer this class zoom to our members at sacred. Shell and to record it out in the open. If you're listening to the podcast so this is our third installment this week. Three of the way finding series and this whole series was actually inspired by a quote. This is a quote that I heard in an episode of on being which is another podcast and the woman Krista Tippett. Who Does that? Podcast was interviewing a civil rights activist named Ruby sales and in this interview. One of the things that Ruby sales says is I think that one of the things that theologies must have is hindsight insight and foresight that is complete site and I think that fragmentation really shatters that site. It says that it's not an eyesight. It's a waste site and when I heard that something about that terminology and the structuring of complete site as all of these pieces hindsight insight foresight. Immediately I just knew that this directly relates to meditation practice. And as you've heard me say already in a way finding really it's hard is just a series of elements that come together to provide guidance in some way and our meditation practices offering these little forms of guidance. So we looked at hindsight right. We look to this idea of tracing our way backwards to look for those little hidden hints and whispers guidances as to our souls calling what we're here to do what we're here to feel and be in our supposed to move through the world and we looked at insight inside. Is the direct translation of mindfulness. Meditation when you translate the Pali Words. The original language that meditation came from when you translate those words it translates to incite this practice is directly turning us in words to see for ourselves. And today what we're GONNA do is. We're GONNA talk about foresight and foresight in my mind relates to what's called the Dharma and the Dharma is just another way of saying the teachings the teachings of Meditation What. I'm doing right now. This talk that. I do at the beginning of all of my meditation classes. This is called a Dharma. Talk Right so this is a talk that is designed to share teachings inspiration and insight for our journey really. What teachings are there like a map that people who are few steps ahead of us on this path have left for us? There little hints. And if you remember if you listened to last week's meditation class the way finding to episode I tell the story of Touching into this deep well of peace inside right and the short version of the story is is. I was meditating with a friend and about three minutes into the meditation. I realized that I have this. Tickle in my throat and all. I want is glass of water and a cough. Drop to sued this tickle but I don't WanNa get up because I don't want to disturb my friend I don't WanNa cough and I was kinda comfortable and so even though I was really feeling that discomfort of needing to get a glass of water. I was sort of equally in this place of wanting to stay in my meditation and see what happened and eventually where I landed in this meditation was what I call in. What many teachers called this deep well of peace inside meaning that no matter how much agitation was on the surface underneath it was really still. It was really calm and really quiet. I was able to stay. I didn't have to get up at the class of water and I wasn't suffering. It wasn't like I was choking back a cough and fighting to stay. I was really truly comfortable in the discomfort and so the idea that people who practice have experiences and then they share these experiences with others as little glimpses of what might happen if you keep practising and it's not to say that we have to buy into everything every teacher says or trust without question. It's not that at all but the teachings are really meant to be a hint at what's to come an invitation to see for yourself so you might hear me or somebody talk about this mythic deep well of peace or any of these teachings right any of the things that we say meditation does for us and you can just keep a beginner's mind and open curious mind. Is that true for me? What happens when I practice? That's the question that we ask ourselves and so I wanNA share an example of how this might unfold in terms of incorporating teachings into our practice. So what you're doing right now is incorporating teachings into your practice. You could really easily just sit down. Set A timer for ten minutes closure as a meditate but by carving out even once a week to sit with a teacher to listen to a talk and then practice. You're giving yourself that tool of foresight

The Mindful Minute
Practicing Mindful Compassion
"In the series. What we've really been doing is breaking down the definition of mindfulness meditation? So mindfulness the way we practice of here at sacred show West at least aced is defined as to be present without judgment and with compassion. And so in this third installment installment of the series were spending the evening talking about compassion and interestingly I have found myself talking about compassionate feels like all month so it feels Dell's timely and I'm very excited to get to share with you guys tonight this practice so this piece compassion pieces such an interesting component it. Because I feel like it's very much a piece of the practice and equally so it's a piece of the outcome of the practice so a lot of times they talk about. Mindfulness as a bird with two wings one of the wings is the mindful the present the wakefulness fullness. And the other wing is the harmfulness. It's the sense that were opening up to a greater sense of connection engagement agenent involvement with ourselves and with the world and so the standard definition of compassion is to have the ability. Need to be with someone's pain that's the definition of compassionate has nothing to do with fixing it has nothing to do with helping it is just the ability to be with someone's pain even if that someone is ourselves but recently I heard a definition of compassion that really really really struck me and this definition came from Gregory Boyle who's a Jesuit priest out in la And the founder of homeboy industries. Which is the nonprofit that works with gang member rehabilitation and so he was talking about his work in the world and his views on compassion in the way he defined? It was to say that it's to be an awe of what somebody has to carry rather than to stand in judgment of how how they carry it to be in awe of what somebody has to carry rather than to stand in judgment of how they carry yet get and now what I know from about a decade of compassion practices is that it always no matter where you go and in who you study with it always has to start with yourself period which I think is the hardest place because we desperately I really want to run out and help other people but we really don't think we deserve it right in a general way. We really don't think we deserve it and we have to to start with ourselves because if we can embody that sense of compassion internally there's no way we can really healthily and fully share for it externally so now we have to direct that same definition to ourselves to be in awe of what we carry rather than stand in judgment of how we carry it. That's a big one I think and so we started this practice in a really really really simple way which is to say at the end of every meditation you do in some form or fashion. You silently silently say to yourself great job and maybe that sounds so silly but this is truly one of the ways. We begin to practice just compassionate towards ourselves. Because I know I'm not the only one who hears the bell rang at the end of twenty minutes and think I thought the whole time I fell asleep. I wrote a grocery list. I practice the argument. I'M GONNA have with my husband later. I did something other than meditate for twenty twenty minutes and the bell rang announce over and I lost my chance. May and the work is to catch that that dialogue and go uh-huh did you sit down for twenty minutes. Did you stay. You're calling it meditation because the practice is simply to be present here and not judge yourself so this is where we also start to feel this. Very cyclical you know. I'm teaching in this in. This linear way tonight. We're talking about presents we're talking about non judgment. We're talking about compassion as if we could really separate them out into three distinct pieces when really. It's just a circle right. It's just a circle because I start to judge myself because what did I do. Do I left the present moment right Ari. I'm creating a future argument with my partner. That hasn't happened yet and is definitely not happening in this moment. So catch it and I say that's okay good job you caught it compassion. I come back to presence here I am again. I'm supposed to be meditating. Feel the BRA. Aw fill the breath and when I don't feel the breath I can't feel the breath I think something else and I'm like oh so bad at this non judgement got it doing a good job try again. And here's our circle just over and over and over again
