Air Force will review cancer among personnel who worked close to nation's ground-based warheads
"The air force is expanding its review of cancers among the nation's nuclear missile personnel. They're called missileers, the airmen who launch nuclear warheads from underground silos and command centers. Space Force reported last month 9 officers who worked as missiles at a Montana air base were diagnosed with non Hodgkin lymphoma. Since then, more missiles and support crew have said they too had been diagnosed with the same or other types of cancers. The air force will now review the entire ground based nuclear missile corps at three bases in Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming to include environmental factors at the bases and silos. I'm Dan schwarzman that your Bloomberg world sports update, Brian. All right, thanks very much Dan, the time 16 minutes before the top of the hour let's welcome to the airwaves of Vincent Cigna, Bloomberg macro strategist with us. So a lot to consider here. We've had some earnings that are kind of all over the map on disappointing from micron, but very solid from Nike and FedEx just here in the last 24 hours. We had consumer confidence jumping the highest level in 8 months, and yet we had U.S. existing home sales weakening further. So obviously it's pretty topsy turvy out there. Vince, do you look at it from a bullish standpoint or a bearish standpoint? I think it's quite Polish, actually. When you look at Nike and FedEx, that speaks to the consumer doing well, although by the end of the week, we're going to get some retail sales personal income personal spending data. They're all projected to decline. So going into next quarter, I'm not so sure the consumer is going to be that healthy. We are obviously in the holiday buying season. So that purchase things up a little bit. Micron chips revenue going down, they very well speak to the supply chain shortages, not so short anymore. And that people have businesses have bought what they needed or supplied with they needed that inventory levels in the chip space are decent. And that's not driving up prices and earnings as much. And from the existing home sales standpoint, we've just seen that housing data for months now. And that's obviously due to the fed raising interest rates. That's no surprise. And it's beginning to end its way through other areas. I thought the most interesting thing I read and this was about a week ago was the Philly shed put out a report that said, their jobs data shows that we only gained about 10,000 jobs this year, where the BLS says it's over a million. And they claim their data is superior. And at some point, the fed one hand is talking that jobs are tight. And here's the Philly fed saying, not so much. I'm kind of going with the Philly fed on this one, as opposed to the BLS. Well, you would have thought they wouldn't be because the Philly fed is good to be, of course, by the federal banking system. And if you don't trust your own guys, then who are you going to address? And so you become data dependent. And the question then becomes what data are you dependent on? Yeah, and I'm not so sure I kind of likened it to someone joking around a trader's today. We're talking. It's like the Indiana Jones movie when they said they're digging in the wrong place. You know, they're looking at the wrong data, perhaps. And when they say they want to stay higher for longer, it's because they're looking for the data from the BLS when their own internal data says opposite. And I fully expect that they're going to be pivoting way sooner than they think. And I'll probably lose another dinner bet, but I would have February. They do nothing. And not raise at all. I'm curious about what some of the unintended consequences might be of all this. You have yields moving higher. Now, I think from your point of view, you probably see yields moving down from here because you think that higher interest rates are straggling or strangling the economy. But with rates higher and people having gone through such a long period with low rates and all the things you do, you know, to sort of make up your returns during that, a lot of that now is facing wholesale change. Are you seeing anything that you're concerned about here that would fall under the category of unintended consequences? Well, I mean, the biggest unintended consequence is that the Ted pushes us into a recession. And I'm kind of in the camp that they will. I mean, there's a serious credibility question that comes in with the fed. I think they're overly concerned that they lost their credibility with the transitory story. As one trader put it to me and I thought he was quite listening to that they are more concerned with their grandchildren are going to read about them that they are not the Arthur burns of the 21st century. And that pushing the economy into a recession is a small price to pay. They're not looking at the data quite frankly. I mean, they just are not. The data is very, very, very clear that the economy is rolling over. And that the global economy is wrong. And I think they're going to see that in the first quarter of next year. And I think that's going to speak well for us. But Vince, I mean, you started off our conversation by saying you're bullish. How can you be bullish if you think that we're heading in the wrong direction? Well, I'm bullish. I think I'm bullish for the year of 2023. I think both guys are going to see the I think they're going to see

So the answer of why blockchain stems from the idea that these are digital collectibles, these stamps that you're going to be able to earn and at times buy and sell as part of the Odyssey program, their digital collectibles, and you are going to own them. And if you think about loyalty programs today, you earn points, maybe even there's certain games like Starbucks for life or McDonald's, monopoly, and other things that you've all played that you can earn badges or stickers. But you don't really own your points. And you don't really think about why would you want to own your points. But blockchain, digital collectible is there's this opportunity to not only be rewarded for engaging with the brand in the form of loyalty, but instead of just getting points, you can earn points and these digital collectibles and the digital collectibles can be redeemed for rewards. They can be collected because they can have their own fun, intrinsic value, or rarity, and they can also be programmed to. And you can form community around them.

Cop Charged With Felony Battery for Grabbing Female Officer by Throat
"Another thing I want to touch on is this police getting charged. I spoke about it before, but I just made a video on my YouTube about it. The police officer out there in Florida who was on video yelling at a subject in the back of a patrol car, then a female officer grabbed him by the belt, pulled him, and then he turned around and pushed her, his hand, grazed her neck, and all the reports were saying he choked her, I just, I'm having a problem finding that that makes sense to charge the sergeant with pushing an officer after the officer pulled him and almost made him fall over because of she perceived that he went too far. When there is no law against what the sergeant did, he didn't touch the guy, all he had was harsh words. That's not against the law to have harsh words for somebody. It's not a violated violation of somebody, somebody's constitutional rights, if they're under arrest and a person has harsh words for them. And say, if you hurt any one of my officers, I'm going to take your soul. It's pretty much what he said. That's not against the law to say that. Somebody may believe that it's improper. But as a officer with three years on a police department, you go and grab your sergeant and pull him in, almost make him fall on the ground. To me, you are out of bounds. If the man, if the officer was assaulting this guy, then I have a different tune. But nobody touched his officership, you, you ran from third base to the home plate just to pull his officer pull his sergeant out of the back of that patrol car. But when the sergeant wasn't there, you wouldn't even touch the suspect to get him in the car. But you're willing to grab the police, your police sergeant but you won't touch the suspect.

That was a big difference. Yeah, so that was really good. And then the game itself was awesome. So it was boring until the seventh inning, and then finally the Tigers. They play the Tigers. They was like 4 to 0. We thought all this game we're done. We're done, right? And then and then it was just like then a grand slam. So then it was 5 to 4. So we were winning. And then they score. Then they tied it up. And then by the end of it, we had to go into over, like extra innings we had left by then because he had already passed out. And you know that wasn't you know really fun by then. But yeah, but then the twins pulled through. So twins win. Which was great. I'm like, What are people are shooting off fireworks. In that degree, I'm trying to take the dog out. And I'm like, who has that kind of stash? And then this is going on for 20 minutes. This has got me. Oh, my God. We had the twins shoot off fireworks on certain Fridays, but you're a good fan, right? You stay in your seat and watch the game. It's not a social affair for you. You're a fan. I sit and watch the game. Yes, and what was great around about everyone around? This, where the seats were in particular is that they're all season ticket holders, and they're the same way. So it's really fun. We're talking about the different players and who they played both before and what the other games were like and So that was really fun. The only thing is having a 1.5 year old with you kind of cramps, the style God gets in the way it, doesn't it. He really does. He wanted to run all around and up and down, And he's just not quite big enough yet. You know, you've got to make a deal with on Hill. You go to baseball games alone, and then he goes to basketball games alone. It'll work out perfectly. Yeah, I think that that's probably the answer. So I agree, Kenny But yeah, it was super fun. Oh, the other thing, too. Just as if you have a kid or maybe of a family or friend who is coming to a twins game. It's their first time at guest services. They have first game certificates. Yeah, I did that for a second. Yeah, I don't know. I'm not scrapbooking or anything. You're you're bagging. Groceries bags groceries seven at work but not really because nobody was even in the store. Everyone's watching the game but my but the boss made me go. Clean the bathrooms while he sat up front and watch the game on tv. And i didn't get even come in and check it and happy job. It was terrible. What was your boss's name. "Got the predicted next. Wouldn't agree with that statement. But I bet you won't find any arguments from the pitching staff of either team. His micro stock is weaker, still down at second base with two went out. Right hander Brubaker ready at the belt. He deals and the pitch to Moose Takis grounded foul down the first base line its own one. You know, it's interesting in that that particular category you can hear broadcasters where they're on TV or radio if their hitters both of those pitches. They're very unhappy about And if you're a pitcher, the first thing out of your mouth is that's an awfully good. Yeah, it's just the way that you see it. And borderline for a hitter goes his way. Borderline for a picture. You're thinking it should go your way. Here's the right hander zone one and loose. Takis takes high pretty good pitch there from Brubaker, and it really looked like that's right where Jacob Stallings, one of that pitch when the stock is just an offer at it accounts, even one on one. I think what we're seeing with Brubaker is very similar to what we saw in Cincinnati. He'll throw that four seamer at the very top of the zone when he has to have A pitch on the edge of the plate. It's that two seamer the sinker. He's showing it late. He starts it off the plane and brings it right back to the edge. And he's done that now twice for a couple of strikeouts, looking to these right handed batters. Brubaker has the sign the right hander from the belt. Brings home the 11 pitch and a swing and a miss by Blue stock is he's down to the county ball and two strikes. Red's trying to cash in on Wickers hustled double. He guided The third base line trickled into left. That's a big shift on here against Moose, Takis. 12 pitch, and it's down and in went to the slider that time and Brubaker has evened up. The count on move stock is it's too into the second basement. Fraser is way out shallow right, but he's pulled over a little more toward the line that sometimes what we'll see. Especially the fact that the shortstop Kevin Newman is still on the left side of second base. Bruce Takis hits a routine grounder to the normal second base position. Yeah, I go. Well, you're gonna have to do this because you're gonna have your mascot You're gonna have to scream. But the umpires when they look over just point to the bench because everybody's gonna have to ask how you won't have to get throwing out. But But definitely Alex would got called out on that and don't no doubt that third base umpire was watching. That was a bad call. And Caselli that I mean, I watched that place so many times 32 years taken is his gear off in a ring them up, and I thought that was kind of a chicken call right there. Were you ever in the dugout was somebody get run from the dugout? Something that some guy who wasn't in the ball game? It all had no business yelling at the guy. There was a chicken all the time was at least at least screen stuff. And then he'd look at he'd be like, What do you mean? I didn't say that. I mean, he'd be the perfect guy that would just scream intensely. And then all the empires would look in and he'd be like, No, It's not me. Atley was perfect for that role. He was always doing that. And we would finally what we did. We start pointing right at him. And then all of a sudden he stopped doing it because we're like, Hey, we're not gonna get in trouble. And Frank was the best. He would just like, Give it to him. Give it to him. And then when they look in, he'd go. Hey, I know I don't know who's saying that, you know. It's so much, but I was glad Alex would did that. A veteran move right there from a picture. And at that time, 1st and 2nd, the Giants were rallying in the seventh inning to come back and the 32 pitch. I just didn't think that was the right thing to do in that in that position of the game, I'm with you. I think that that sort of you know, as a manager or a head coach doesn't sometimes in like basketball. Get a double technical got himself ejected or a manager will do it in baseball to kind of light a fire under his guys. I thought that was kind of cool. You read a veteran move, sort of keep the flame I'm going into. He knows what's going on out there, man. This guy's pitch in the playoffs pitch in the World Series, and I think he's been a great ad. So far for the job. It's getting good pitching. I mean, he's been fantastic. He was a little upset that he didn't go out the sixth inning of that game. He was throwing the ball well, you only gave up four hits, couple runs, and that was that home run to crone. But I would have loved to scene and I want to ask Bailey or even Kappler down the road. You know what the starting pitchers? You always had a guy go out there for another inning until somebody gets un because sometimes you might get three line drives and you get another inning in And I wish that would have happened with him. "Year. I think everyone thinks that's that's inevitable and it probably is Because the players association and the owners are going to go to war over riot things. And i think it's going to be difficult to avoid a work stoppage. But what's always incredible to me. Is that you see. These franchises values skyrocket billions and billions and billions of dollars. And somehow the players don't deserve any of that in terms of the public sphere and that they should just be happy to get paid anything to play a kids game and that is the prevailing attitude when these things are generally talked about. How can you complain about getting pay anything to play kids games because people watch on television and they think it's easy in a way that when they see a great singer perform onstage or they see a great actor performing a movie. They don't watch that it's to do that if suitably they know that they can't for some reason when they watch mcgillion butcher third base. I was at Miller Park, the stadium that local has now changed and then last night. Driving home from the station last night, the primary Marquis The Miller Park Sign Center Front V logo, the marquee sign that was not illuminated last night. Usually there's spotlights on it. That was not the case last night, which tells me that I mean, maybe weather permitting. We are within a couple of days, if not sooner than Getting that primary sign changed out and let me just say this. They nailed it. I thought they nailed it when they first showed us the logo. You know my less than a year ago. Now, maybe it's a year ago. Look good. You know what I know in a in an email file that logo that sits up there right now. Nailed it. The color scheme.
