"I was just starting the fifth grade. September 2000, bro. I was just starting the fifth grade. It's wild, bro. I'm finishing high school, man. I'm gonna do some good news. I'll save this one for next week. So, as we all know, the Olympics is coming up in Paris next year. The Olympics will be held in Los Angeles in 2028. I'm going. I'm going. I'm gonna go. I have a family in Cali. I got a freedom of order already. I'm going. Really? You're gonna go to Cali for the Olympics? Why not? It's a big event. This is the thing that's weird, right? Because I thought the Olympics were held in a country, not a city. But it's held in a whole city, right? Well, technically speaking, it is held in a country. It's just something like, you know, a city. A particular city. So, basically, the city's gonna build the Olympic Stadium for them, right? Yeah. So, we know that the Olympics is coming around. Paris is first. And where's in Paris? Shout out to my one of my top three favorite soccer players, Thierry Henry. He's the head coach for the Under 21s for the French national football team. Hopefully, you know, they can make some noise. You know, and win as the host. Was he on the New York Red Bulls? Yes. Yes, he was. That's a big deal. So, with that being said, in 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, the Olympics is adding on five new sports. I don't know, break dates is one of them. I will get to that. The five new sports that were added to the 2028 Olympic Games, these five sports are baseball, softball. Across. Squash. Cricket. And flag football. Alright, I'm cool with that. Wow. For some strange reason, I thought baseball was already part of the Olympics. No, I'm gonna get to all that stuff. These five sports were added by the IOC, which is the International Olympic Committee. So, when I say IOC, that's what that means. It passed the Olympic body's full membership at a meeting in Mumbai, India, after proposed by the LA officials last week and recommended by the IOC. All five were voted as a single package with two no's compared to the other 88 governing bodies. So, there's 91 votes. 88 said yes. Two of them said no. Cricket used to be an Olympic sport in the 1990s. The reason behind cricket's research is because of India and the Caribbean as well. Adding cricket to the Olympics will raise India's broadcast rights to $100 million. So, a lot of these, you know, Olympic sports, paper, money. The Olympic tournaments would include both men and women in the new games. Flag football and baseball softball could put the NFL and MLB players on the Olympic stage in five years from now. Baseball softball was voted in 2012 Olympic games. So, I was voted out in the 2012 Olympic games due to lack of talent committed to play in that year. Because, you know, Olympics usually in the summertime and baseball season during the summertime. So, baseball players don't want to go play Olympic games where they have to play baseball. Got you, got you. Alright? Makes sense. The NFL, however, is committed to strengthening the flag football's place in the Olympic long term. Flag football is one of the fastest growing sports in the globe right now, actually. Atlanta Falcons have played a vital role in getting the movement started. The Falcons have given grants to 144 schools covering the equipment, officials, transportation, and coaches' salaries. The other funding is that the teams may need for flag football. Squash will make his debut after several previous attempts to get it passed in the Olympics. As Eddie said, I regret to inform you that breakdancing will be dropped from the Olympics games. And so is MMA, right? I don't know about that part. That's just breakdancing so far. Of course, they ain't ready. Also, I'm rooting for this guy. I found out about him maybe a couple years ago. Shout out to great judo, great Teddy Reiner. He's an 11-time world champion in judo. Three-time Olympic gold, no, two-time Olympic gold medalist. And one of the things I was watching about him a while back, he's saying he was trying to see if he could get ready to get to this point because he would like to win his third Olympic gold medal in judo at his weight in France. He's French? Yeah. I think that, honestly, it's a special thing in whatever sports where you're able to be the host and win in your backyard. I think that's a big deal. I'm rooting for him. Winning a title in general in your backyard is amazing. Any type of title. But to get gold? Gold, silver, bronze, you got it. But to give you on that podium with your country behind you is a wonderful thing. When I saw that documentary of France 98 and the World Cup and them winning as the hosts and all their trials and tribulations throughout their history, trying to win that and they finally win as a host, hell of a story. There's soccer in the Olympic games, right? Yeah. That was a story. My guy could lead the under-21 team to Olympic gold. It's a big deal. Wait, time out. The Olympic is in what? Summertime, right? Yeah. Hasn't the World Cup been a summertime too? Every other two years. Yeah, the Olympic is usually two years after the World Cup. Oh, so it's not going to conflict? No, it's not going to conflict. But also, the benefit of that, they could also have three players, I think, over 21 to be part of the team. So if Kylian won it too, he could be part of that team. Kylian Mbappe? Yeah, along with two other players. Because there's a policy where you could have three players over the age of, I think, 23 to join that squad. The 21 squad? Yeah. 21 and over, or 21 max? I think it's like 23 age, 23 and over. The requirement is that the majority of the players be under a certain age. But you could have three players over that age. So why the hell would Kylian want to do that? Just play with the adults. Go battle. Go battle, yeah. Messi did it. Messi did it for Argentina. I think he was, at that time, he was like, what? I think he was 21, 22 at that time. His coach at the time, Pep Guardiola, let him go and Argentina went on to win the Olympics with him. I'm sorry, I'm confused because my whole thing is, Kylian is that dude. He's that dude. So I don't need to see you play with the 21 squad. No, no, no, you don't. But it still looks good, though. It's still a competition. And my thing is, if they let you do it, if they let you do it, and the senior coach for the senior team is cool with it, why not? So can he do both, or he can only do one and the other? What do you mean? So can Kylian play with the 21 squad and then the adult squad, or he can only do one and the other? Yeah, he can do both, yeah. Okay. Hopefully he doesn't tire himself out. I mean, that's a valid point. But I'm just saying, if that rule is in place, granted, it's for all teams, and the senior coach is cool with it, why not? Why not give you the best chance to win? Okay. Immigration. The United States and the Los Angeles officials are assuring that athletes of all passports and nationalities will be allowed in for the summer game. So, sorry feds. You can't deport some guy who want to be coming from one of those third world countries you talk smack about. You know, when we come from Honduras or something, and he's playing Olympic games, you can't get rid of him. He's playing. Okay? And when he's done, he's going to go back to his country. Weightlifting and modern pantheon will retain their Olympic spots. Weightlifting was on rocky terms because of doping issues. Boxing isn't going anywhere neither, but the sport is without a governing body, recognized by the IOC. So yeah, man, flag football will be playing in the 2023 Olympic games. But no breakdancing. All that guy says, the Americans should squash anybody who plays in the flag football tournament. I'm sorry. Can you imagine Tyreek Hill and Tom Brady playing flag football? Listen, in the Olympics, the NFL last year didn't do the NFL games. They got rid of it. The All-Star games? Yeah. So they went to a different format. The pro ball. So they had the pro ball games. They had flag football. Dude, how in sync these guys were. I'm like, man, these NFL quarterbacks are really good. Because, bro, they were just throwing darts. Imagine what's going to happen when we go to the Olympics. Exactly. It'll be unfair. It's going to be unfair. It's like the dream team in basketball. They're going to put up 65 points a game. Because they're going to have professional corners, linebackers guarding the middle, guarding everywhere. And it's going to be no fun. It's like this. I think for a long period of time, that'll be the case. And over time, if the other countries care for it, they will adapt and find a way. I told you flag football is a growing sport globally. So there's some teams representing from Mexico, Canada, England, all over the world. All over the globe. No, no, no. I believe that. What I'm saying is, even though we're still producing the best talent and stuff like that, I'm sure what you guys are saying will happen for a long period of time and advantage us. But over time, you know what happens. So we'll say 20 years from now, the world will catch up in flag football? It's very possible. I don't think so. You're saying you're all right, but we've seen Team USA in basketball lose in the Olympics. But that's the scrub team. That's the actual team. No, no, no. We can't do that. We can't do that. We got to give them their respect. You can't do that. Because that 2014 team had Duncan Iverson, all them dudes, and they lost. And stuff like that. And then you fast forward. Prior to them adding Kobe, you still had Lebron Melo D-Way out here losing. Young Lebron, Young Melo, Young D-Way. Prime Dwight Howard, it was out here losing, bro. Kobe came and was like, hey, you need to crack the switch. Yeah, I need to stop losing this loser stuff. Yeah, that's not it. I don't see the world catching up to us in flag football. Because the way, I'm telling you, the way how these quarterbacks were doing. I'm going to play the pro ball game for you on YouTube. And you're going to see how, I'm like, these dudes just pitching back and catching. It was surgical how they were moving. No, I'm not saying all you're saying. I'm not underestimating what you're saying. I'm just saying, these are one of the reasons why I feel soccer won't succeed here. And these are the reasons. Commercially, soccer is viable here. But till it's viable culturally, that's when we'll take the next step. And the perfect example. KD going to Rucker Park, dropping 66. He got no reason to be there. He's professional, he's making mad money. But culturally, it's important. When I start seeing these soccer nets on concrete and stuff like that. Like over there in England and Holland and stuff like that. That's when we'll take the next step. It's funny you say that because I'm seeing it pop up over in the city, Jersey. It's growing. And they got a lot of these soccer kids doing multiple sports. And they're either sticking to soccer or they're playing football or whatever. But they're sticking to soccer a lot of them are. And they're killing it. I really want to see USA win a World Cup. Before I die, I want to see what happens. That would make me cry. Because when you hear stories about these dudes in the favelas, I hear picking up the ball every single day. And playing it from night till dawn. That ball is sleeping by their side. That's a cultural thing. Same thing with basketball. So I understand what you're saying. No? Yeah. Alright, y'all. This is Vesty by real Timmy. And when we get back, we get to the wise guy. And we'll get up out of here. Timmy. So how does that work? What? Does she want to be in the publishing studio? The word of the flag? Bring it up slow. Bring it up slow and put on me show. Let me see, let me see you doing with your bestie, bestie, bestie, bestie, bestie. And you could bring your bestie, bestie, bestie, bestie, bestie. I mean, we could share if you don't care. What up, though? It's your boy Roach Timmy. And I'm about to win the whole meet. You get intense.

"In blazers studios in the crap part of Bedford, New York, and the crap part of West Hollywood, California, it's the men in places podcast roger. We back. Like the Gonzaga bulldogs. How are you doing, David? Yeah, big win for them. So much sport this weekend, roger. We're going to get to the football we'll get to our blazer. The NCAA tournament in full swing, the back 9 of the valspar roger, your boy Tommy Fleetwood almost came up with his first PGA Tour win. We had the tennis Carlos alcaraz and rupertino winning in the desert. It was just a F one in Newcastle. I mean, Saudi Arabia, it was so much going on. Only white Ian's almost every. He's got a finger in them all at this point. It's been a crazy week in the ongoing ever spiraling spigot that is the U.S. soccer soap opera. And when I say U.S. soccer, I guess it makes crazy week redundant at this point. It's just a normal week, I guess. And the antics continue to come out hot and heavy. We are 7 days on from the independent report into burr hole to renegade, which was released. Essentially, if you've not read it, it just went two footed in on the raina parents and since then, Gio has been called up to the U.S. squad for nations play forthcoming this week as he should have been, talked a lot about that on multiple podcasts this week in Christian Pulisic, then dropped an interview in which he talked about, well, a lot about his love for chess. But he also slipped in. The U.S. soccer situation was quote childish. And essentially praised the team's progress under the Greg burh hall to regime, who in the independent report was at peace to say, is still a candidate, possibly could still be rehired for the U.S. team going forward that they talked at their annual general meeting over the weekend of how they'll only make that coach appointment this summer after first having a new director of football, Thierry Henry, keeps flinging his hat, I guess, is shapo, or maybe it's just a beret into the ring because, you know, nature rewards a vacuum. David, I've talked a lot about this in multiple podcasts about the whole situ, but I'd love to hear what's your take on the independent report. It's findings, politics, bearded, long interview in which our gent, who it should be said, is not always the most comfortable in interview settings, really try to be open. And put himself out there, what do you make of it all? I mean, look, I hoped at the end of this that the independent report would offer us two things. Some kind of objective truth. And also some kind of closure to this event. And I think unfortunately, you know, whether it's the reports fall or whether it's just the way it's been taken, I don't think it's given us any kind of objective truth. I think we just have an interpretation that has been made widely across media. And I'm not saying there's any truth I'm looking for. I just want the overall truth. I'm sure a lot of people are at fault. And there's certainly seems to be no closure. In the end, the tragic thing here is that we have one of the most talented players ever to appear on the scene of American sucker, Gio rayna, and I can't even imagine what it's going to be like for him reintegrating into this team whoever is coaching it. And when I read the comments from fans and by the way, not just fans from respected pundits across social media and read the just the filth that's flung in his direction and I just find it I just find it very difficult to process at least lalas has moved from there's nothing to see here. This is just like there's nothing went on, nothing happened at all. At least lalis is now taking some kind of a position, but I can't imagine that this wound is going to close very easily. I like the way you differentiated there from respected soccer pundits to Alice. You just kept there. Categories. No, they're not lalas is one of the most respected soccer pundits in the American game. Yeah, I will only add. Said, he said something that I totally agree with, which is this thing needs speed. There's no other mainstream federation in this period, this social media period that would take so long to clean up this awful toxic mess and we need to move on and politics said that. And I agree with that, this dead time we do not need to begin the cycle. I think the next World Cup is at 1047 days away, who's counting. I'm counting the players accounting. This feels like dead time. But he said, we don't need a bunch of new guys coming in. We have a strong core. A lot of people have seen that. We need to carry on. I think we want to continue as soon as we can and build from this World Cup which brought a lot of positives and what's fascinating and essentially that was interpreted as being very much pulisic backs the return of Greg berhalter and it is going to be interesting to the extent to which the players who are all returning to camp this week as we speak they are landing in the United States for a pair of games over the next two weeks. The extent to which they echo his comments. I'll say I've spoken to a number swing to a lot of players since the World Cup and then a number of them do not share that sentiment at all. But big picture are really applaud Christian tempting to speak up, attempting to speak out. It's not always found media easy. This interview was a real change admittedly within very, very safe confines, but it showed a willingness to lead or an attempt to and for that, I'd say, well in mate, to more, to more, to more before we get to the aforementioned football roger. We got to talk about men in blazers where the international break is anything but a break. It is international, though, as we continue to crank out a cocaine bears worth of podcasts.

I'm Dan schwarzman that your Bloomberg world news and sports update Doug. All right, Dan, thanks. Let's take a look at some of the Central Bank action that's been taking place in mid if I can use that word. A lot of the volatility that we have seen not only in treasury markets, but in the banking complex as well. Bloomberg's Kathleen Hayes is with us. She is our global policy and economics editor. Let's begin with the ECB. There was a little bit of speculation going into this meeting that perhaps madam Lagarde would temper expectations and not hike rates by 50 basis points that maybe she would prefer smaller increase. That's not what we got. Larry summers former US Treasury secretary today graded her with an a plus, did you see that? Oh, I did. Well, you know, I think it was actually quite a bit of speculation. And particularly when Credit Suisse, all of a sudden, was having its own crisis, certainly liquidity problem, if you want to call it that. And of course, 24 hours ago, the Swiss national bank stepped in and stepped up with billions of dollars for them to call on to get through it. They got beaten up again today. However, now the critical spaces under Christine Lagarde and her team's remit, but all that was roiling European banks so people figure, maybe they won't stop breaking rates. Maybe they'll do 25. They plowed right through and it's very interesting talking about how they're watching their banks, their monitoring what's going on, they're in very good shape. They're well capitalized. The vice president, Luis de guidos, that as well. And but boy, when you look at what she said about banks and how capitalized they are, not like that, I'm paraphrasing, but not like that bank in California. Boom, you know? And so that I'll always remember that now. And I will be a landmark phrase from this episode of banking troubles. Big focus on, we've still got inflation to fight a long ways to go, and we're going to keep going. 25, excuse me, 50 basis points today. Bloomberg economics says 50 more before they're finished, even though markets are pricing in no more rate hikes because they took out their language about future rate hikes. Yeah, that was an important mention or lack of mention as well, wasn't it? What is the path ahead? But really interesting that they went ahead with that bigger hike. And what does it tell us about the fed and in particular, the number one priority for central banks, one of them is price stability, right? Never mind what's happening in the banking sector. Well, it's certainly when you look at their, because when we're not in times of banking crisis, I don't know, I guess we're not supposed to call the Christ because it isn't, but it times like this, right? Stressed banks. We're reminded that fed actually broadly speaking has two things they're responsible for. One is the economy inflation, okay? That's the dual mandate. Ah, but the other one, one of the most important things a bank, a Central Bank can do is maintain financial stability, lender of last resort, because once markets start crumbling and tumbling, that's when things can get really bad. So right now that the fed, I think, is in a more precarious position to a certain extent than the ECB. Because the ECB, they have not seemed to have had the same problems. Their monitoring, very well. All of these Christine Lagarde said, and the fed, they're still, everyone's still kind of wondering what's under the water. What could surface next instead of bank that's troubled and just kind of crossing his fingers, going to the discount window and hoping it makes it through. Well, you mentioned the discount window after the bell we learned that to borrowing at the discount Windows search to an all time high. I mean, we're talking a 164 billion

I'm Dan schwarzman that your Bloomberg world news and sports update Doug. Dan, thank you. Well, today we had a push higher in the equity market as investors took signs of comfort of this massive deposit injection into first republic bank, the bank received $30 billion in deposits from 11 banks, including JPMorgan Chase. We're going to take a closer look at this story now and what it means for the overall financial system with Herman Chan, Bloomberg intelligence, senior analyst. Herman, thanks for being with us before today before this news on first republic broke, and we learned of the deposit injection. The stock had been down more than 60%, and there was a lot of conversation around failure, maybe a takeover. Does this necessarily this injection necessarily change that narrative? I think it definitely is a vote of confidence for first republic and its management team. This was a private public partnership with the government stepping in. It seems like they were helping to coordinate with the largest banks in the United States really chipping in and putting the first republics a balance sheet that helped really bolster the funding profile of a bank that's really been hit by a lot of deposit outflow. Given the wake of the fallout from SVB closure, that being said, the stock is trading down in the aftermarket hours. And that's really reflecting an announcement they made about where they are in terms of what has happened in the past week. And the biggest number that jumped out to us was that they faced about a $109 billion that they borrowed from the fed. So that just shows you the magnitude of the need to inject liquidity into the balance sheets, whereas the deposits from the banks collectively was only about $30 million. So they're going to aim to reduce borrowing. We know that from the statement it after the bell and then at the same time first republic is going to suspend dividend payments. Help me understand the business model here. Would you call this more of a boutique regional bank and that by that I mean that the deposit base really lacks a lot of diversity? I would say very wealth management focused investment bank that they primarily cater to high net worth individuals and coastal markets. We're talking about New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Boston. And they've migrated to where the money has gone. So they have branches now and places like Montana and Florida where folks that have moved to. So they follow the money. They do mostly, it's very plain vanilla bank. They do mostly single-family mortgages and they take deposits from fairly wealthy individuals, and they have a very sizable wealth management arm. So it's a very vanilla bank that unfortunately has been caught up with some of the vortex that's happened following the collapse of SVB and signature bank. And these enormous outflows, I mean, we learned today that Charles Schwab had net outflows from its prime money market funds totaling nearly $9 billion. So obviously, there are a lot of questions over the health of the wider financial industry. Do you think the government has done enough to help fortify retail sentiment on this topic or are we likely to see not necessarily runs on banks, but the gradual movement of money away from some of the smaller banks into the larger players? Yeah, let me step in and I think that the fed and the regulators have done a lot to help shore up the confidence of the financial system. They guaranteed the depositors in both SVB and signature B, they institute a new liquidity facility to help inject funding for any financial institution bank credit union, et cetera. And

Here's what I really like about it. It's very clean. The other thing that I love and Philly wasn't the only team that did this a few others did as well. They didn't go with the full crest. They did something different. I love that snake. I love that snake right there on the shirt, so it's clean. There's a lot of good ones out there. Portland did something with a plaid that I thought was tight, Nashville has an all black that's pretty fire. They do. There's some very good jerseys. Can I just say this is a berry, very nice Jersey. But in the most Philly way this year, it just came up second best. Oh. All right, that'll

"For the club. I was so ready to get on the pitch. I said to myself, I'm going to do something. Well, I did something. I did put the ball over the stadium. I didn't do that, but yeah, it's just great to finally make an assist for the club. Top tackle. Kevin, you know a lot of guys that make the jump from MLS to Europe. We'll talk about the difference in intensity and they say a lot of that comes down to having promotion relegation. I wonder what you make of that difference between MLS and the European leagues and kind of how it impacts the style of play and maybe the pressure around the play as well. Yeah, it's a here to fight because you know you need the three points and if you don't get the three points you start dropping and drop and drop it and I feel like that's what motivates players a lot having that push that to not get really gated and to stay up in the MLS you don't have that. But there is a push to play for playoffs and that's a big push, but for next season that you're going to put in the exact same league as everyone else but here you don't know if you don't know if you're going to stay in the first division or you're going to drop down to 7 division so I feel like that's really what motivates players that really gives the push to players to fight for more fight for wins and I think that's why it makes it so great to come out here and play. Can let you go without talking about the U.S., of course you've played a lot with the youth national teams. This could be a pretty big year. We got you 20 World Cup. We got Olympic preparations. Of course, it's part of the build up to 2026. What's on Kevin Perez radar? You know, it always to reach for the top and the play, but right now my focus is just this weekend and continue to help my team win and to score and all of this. You know, I know that's going to come with a good performances and if I continue to play like I am playing and do more, I know that would be in those in those competitions with the U.S. open. I mentioned you're 19, so you're eligible for this under 20 World Cup. I know you've looked at the rest of that under 20 pool. You guys are deep and talented. What do you think you guys could do in that tournament later this year? It's a great group. I have to say, being with them two times already, it's a great group, great coaching staff

"USA, Canada, she believes cup opener for the Americans, Alex Morgan, and company. Looking to get things started on the right foot, Morgan, celebrating 200 caps with the national team. She actually hit that milestone earlier. This year, as for the game itself, well, we know this rivalry is a good one. Canada eliminating the U.S. at the last Olympics in the semifinals, but the teams have been very much in concert. This week we know the Canadian women's team having a pay dispute with their federation, not dissimilar from what the American women have been through lots of solidarity before the game, lots of American chances early in the game actually Sanchez or with a shot tipped over the bar by the Canadian goalie. Yeah, goalie got screened very good save, signed just a little blazer of a shot and then what are we doing here? Ellen Sheridan with one big stop, but could make the stop here. Pew pew pew. Yeah. Lasers from the boots of malorie Swanson. I do not know how much of this Alex Morgan knew about, but it's a good little layoff and what a strike, a little half volley for the goal. U.S. up, one zero. Just after the half hour mark, another chance for the Americans, not going to get much easier than that. Two nothing. It Swanson again. First half stoppage time. Alyssa nare, the diving stave, big stop to keep it at two zero denying jeanine Becky. Yeah, very difficult when you haven't been involved too much. It's a very good safe. Keeps your team two zero up. Second half. Ashley chance. Hatch with a chance and no saved again, Sheridan denies. Good chance for the American striker, but hatch. It's a very good goal from Diego Valdez, who has been coming to life lately. He'll second half to one America. Long ball, gonna fall to Henry Martin, and he's gonna make it two. A brace. 9th goal sebi in 7 games this season, ten goals last season, scored against Real Madrid, scoring against man city and a World Cup goal what a ride for him. Three one, the final there for America chivas and Charlotte. Of course we got the horn tradition now for chivas. 26 minute. How does chiba's not clear this? Naomi. It's okay if you're not scoring, but don't help the opponent score. Give us on the comeback trail, 36 minute herc. Was it a penalty? You know what? Slo-mo when you do still pictures, this looks like a penalty it wasn't for me though. I mean, the studs are pretty far off the shin there. He clears the ball, it's a follow through. From the penalty spot makes it one one and then late in the game. No doubt about this. What is the show lost defender thinking here? I think he slips. I wanna say he slips, but I have no idea and then season nano season nettles? No, it's not Ronald cisneros. It's Victor gozman, the Victor Guzman will take it.

"Until the summer LA galaxy going to get €4 million for their part of the deal. Let's start here first. First, herk is Juliana who gonna be a first team player at Barcelona, and what kind of impact do you think he has? Eventually, eventually, not in the first few months at the Catalan club. Yeah, based off just player pool in general, the style of play. I think it's gonna cost him at first. But I love everything about this kid's work ethic, the way he can set himself to be successful, but those are some deep waters. That said, you look at Barcelona's right back depth chart, if you will. I mean, strategy Roberto 31 years of age, not quite frankly, has been in the good graces of shavi as of late, hasn't played much. Ronaldo actually a center back has been playing that right back position, busquets every once in a while. If he's there, he's going to get some opportunities and all you need to do is be on the field Barcelona to do well, which they have been doing lately. To see something in you and Rafa Marquez to really, really fine tune you. This is where I think it's going to be instrumental and actually to his advantage that he's not being thrown into the deep waters at first. So the fact that he's going to go to Barcelona bear and he's going to have three, four months of actual time to work and develop before he gets into that first team waters and actually plays 'cause he may go to the training sessions he may be there and whatnot, but to actually play. I think that's to his benefit. So if you're asking me if he will have a successful Barcelona career, I don't know. But if I'm betting on it, I bet it's more he gets opportunities than him right now. Never sees the light of day. Okay. So we were talking about this in the production meeting in terms of the MLS to major big time blockbuster European club moves. There's a spectrum, right? There's not Mia Oscar, let's say, to Alfonso Davies. Went straight to Chelsea. He played two Premier League games for Chelsea and he made 5 loan moves. Alfonso Davies went to Bayern Munich, and even though, like Juliana Rao, Alfonso Davies started on the second team, he started at Byron two, he was pretty instantly a starter. He won a Champions League. Now 5 years later and look at exactly what he is. So that's the spectrum upon which koyana alho would land, but there's one player in particular her that I think is a more apt comparison. Sergino dest sergino dest played 72 72 games across all competitions at Barcelona in the same position. Do you think Juliana hall will play more or less games than sergino desktop Barcelona when it's all said and done? He's got a he's got a three year deal through 2026. Also, by the way, was over 20 million sale and Ronald kuhlman specifically who recruited him, tried to recruit him for the Dutch national team specifically brought him to Barcelona, so there's a big difference

"Specifically her that playing resume worth? Think about it from your days as a player perspective. A great former player walks in as a manager. What's that worth? Because whatever else you want to say about his resume, the playing resume, that's got to carry some right. Wait. Yeah, sure it carries weight. As a player and you respect them as a player. But how many times have we seen being a great player doesn't translate into being a good manager? On the world level, okay? Now he may say he knows the league. He may say he knows the player pool. He may say all these things, which are great. What have you done as a manager to warrant this? Okay? That is the only question you need to ask. That is the only thing that matters. Stand-alone managerial, resume, I don't think it gets them in the door if he's not TRE on read. That's why I would say this is something you have to walk away from. Yeah. Yeah, he checks some boxes, right? The name, the connections to the game. He's a relative outsider, which we talk about, the incestuous nature of U.S. soccer. He would definitely be a departure from that, but he's just too green to an experience for wins out of 20 with Monaco 9 wins out of 29 in Montreal. There's not a record of success. There's not hardly a record there. So there's two green, but maybe somewhere down the road, I'd like to see him in MLS for what it's worth. I would like to see him back. Again, in Montreal. Honestly, I'd like to see him in a good market, I think, you know, because let me tell you where Thierry Henry, what absolutely knock it out the park. If Thierry Henry was the U.S. men's national team manager, regardless of what the record would be good or bad where he would knock it out the park would be in recruitment nationals. Let's go. Yes. He knows all about folder in bagan, huh? Yes. Sure he's seen him over there. And that's where he would knock it out the park, but that's the only thing I could probably guarantee he would not go to the park because as a manager, I don't know. "You. Thierry Henry, the footballing legend turned manager turned assistant turned TV pundit. Was asked about the U.S. job over on CBS. Quote, do I know the American players? Yeah, I know the players. Do I know the lead? Yeah, I know the league. It's a different ball game now to talk about it like that. But what I want to be a manager at any level, yes. Of course that's something I would want to do. But to go back to the U.S. national team in the U.S. in general, what's the plan? What's the philosophy? What do you want to be? Herc, Darien Reed, should he be a candidate for the U.S. job. Now, when we talk to Ariane Reed, are people taking into the account his resume as a footballer, which is very good. Let me ask you. Let me ask you. Before you ask me, just let me finish really quick. How important is it? Let me finish really quick. Are you taking it into account his resume as a player, which is very good? Or how well spoken he is in front of the camera as a commentator, which he is also very good at. He's a very good commentator. Or maybe as an owner for como and Satya bay. He could be a very good owner. Maybe there. Are we taking into account his stand-alone managerial resume? What he did with Monaco that abysmal shown with Monica, what he did with Montreal, that abysmal show in Montreal where, by the way, they were eliminated in the concave Champions League versus Olympia, or Olympia. And then he decides to leave the team for family reasons he wanted to be close to his family. Only from that same week Bournemouth to come about and talk between him and Bournemouth fall off and then he ends up being the Belgian assistant coach once again. As a stand-alone managerial resume, you wouldn't open the door for him. He wouldn't be a candidate because he's Thierry Henry. And because he was a very good player, a great player, and he's a very good commentator, maybe even a great commentator. All of a sudden, oh, wait a second, Terry Henri. Oh, that sounds interesting. But if you remove the name Thierry Henry and just put his resume, stand alone. Ekis right there? Nobody's going to win a shot. Yes. A wise man once said, we don't operate in a vacuum. Let's turn our attention her, shall we to Jesse marsh, because we now have various reports that talks between marsh and Southampton have broken down just a few days ago, marsh was considered the favorite to take the saints bacon job and return to a Premier League gig just weeks after being fired by Leeds, but discussions broke down over the length of the contract. That was reported by the athletic Southampton apparently didn't want to give any assurances beyond the end of this season, marsh wanted more. Herc, turning down a Premier League job. Did Jesse marsh make the right decision? Yeah, he made the right decision. This was a very good opportunity for Jesse marsh. If they would have given him, let's say, an 18 month contract. The 6 months here, and in a year in the championship, because most likely Southampton may get relegated, that's the most likely scenario. Their dad last right now, they may get relegated. Now, it's fine if you take over and they get relegated, knowing that you have a parachute payment that can help you fund the team to come back up and you have time to implement a style that they may already have maybe suited for, but you, you in general, Jesse march in general and have them come back to the Premier League. Instead, when they don't offer you that assurance, those guarantees, what you're really saying is, do I want to take the risk of another stain on my resume? A team that goes down and I'm part of that fracasso, I think this is a risk that didn't make sense for Jesse marsh. And I don't know why Southampton didn't roll the dice with Jesse marsh here. It's not like there are going to be a lot of interested parties saying, yeah, this is a sinking ship and I'm willing to go down with it. So if he thinks he's going to get another Premier League job offer, then I think this is definitely the right decision. I don't know about you, hurt. I'm not really convinced that Jesse marsh is going to get another Premier League job offer. This to me was a very convenient situation. He had just been sacked, Southampton needed a manager and kind of a desperate moment quickly, and he's right around the corner and plays and manages a very similar style to what Southampton does, not just in terms of their last manager, but as a club what they like to do. This was a really good fit to get walk into a Premier League job after Premier League failure. I think we're calling leads a failure, at least not a success. And then what happened at RB Leipzig, which we're definitely not calling a success, right? So back to back failures, and now he's getting another Premier League opportunity, herc. And we're getting the USC team. Yikes. Yeah. Okay. Stadium holds about 70,000. How many think will show up? Because that's the real question, right? We can say it's, I believe it's nothing. But somebody will sell out. I think it'll sell out. And now the one thing that, because Mexico fans will go see a mole. You haven't proven that they're more fans yet. Well, they don't camp games. They don't have to. You didn't ask if Major League Soccer fans or U.S. men's national team fans will fill this out or sell this out. You asked if it would sell out. Yes, because of the Mexican fans. FMF does a very good job of selling nostalgia. They do a very good job. The Mexican national here in the states who's a resident who is a citizen here in the states of attracting that consumer. Because of the nostalgia because of the stark are the strong ties to their homeland and it's a party. So this is why these fans often go to the concentrations, the hotels where these players are at with Mexican national team is at knowing it's a C team or they should know it's a C team and ask where chuki losano is at. Ask for raul Jimenez is that ask what chicharito that this happens they sell and they sell well. And you think ticket prices will reflect the fact that it's a BC team. Oh, sure. Yeah. Right. Yeah. I think that's what upsets me the most is that the ticket prices will still be like this is a versus say. And honestly, I'm really starting to get annoyed with these friendly. So this is not the first USA Mexico friendly we've had. We don't need friendlies between these two teams. I know you always talk about the one in 2012 in a stack up because it had its historic significance to you. Well, that's different because it was the azteca. It was different. It was different. Also, it was over a decade ago. With the amount that these two teams are playing now, we don't need these friendlies. Not only does it water down USA Mexico, which is a great rivalry, it's going to water down everything else in that space, which is MLS first league albeit. This is just another version of that. And we're starting to see that in so many competitions, herk. At some point, we're going to get sick of it, right? Yeah. What I will say is they've been memorable. You go back to last time I played in Arizona. I think it was Jimmy Conrad off the header and it was Eddie Johnson, Landon Donovan. Osvaldo Sanchez swiping at Eddie Johnson. And then you go ahead and I think it was the Alamo dome in San Antonio. It was actually a college student who debuts for the U.S. men's national team versus Mexico, that being Jordan Morris. So there are some moments you remember in this history when they aren't the a versus a team. That said, I don't need to see it. I don't need to buy it. "Costa Rica, and El Salvador to get the three spots for the 2026 World Cup. Shall we start with Jamaica Hercules? Yes, sir. So we start with Jamaican. Now, part of this for me is stubbornness, okay? I know that's going to shock you. I picked Jamaica last time and I feel like they let me down, right? I'd be like, I feel like they let me down. Okay. I picked Jamaica to go to the 2022 World Cup, obviously. It didn't work out. But there was some success. Certainly late in qualifying. They actually finished 6, so if we go off 6 spots, gets you in, they were good enough last time around to qualify as one of the top 6 teams out of this region. The other thing is we can not deny the talent on the potential Jamaica roster, right? It's not always there, and they may recruit even more foreign dual nationals, right? But when you can throw a guy like Michael Antonio or Leon Bailey on a Concacaf field, you're a legit threat, right? And then on top of that, if you go back to what has, since they last qualified for the World Cup in 1998, often been a knock, is kind of the reported disharmony within this Jamaican team. And actually her, there's a Netflix documentary captains. I know you've seen this. Andre Blake features in it, right? As one of the captains of Jamaica, and there's a poignant scene in there where you could see the team getting ripped apart. Well, who's their manager now? It's the same manager that took Iceland to the 2018 World Cup. There was a big part of that Iceland team at 2016. What were those teams famous for? Being together, so the one problem with Jamaica, they seem to have solved their managerial choice. I think Jamaica's good. What do you think? Safe bet for 2026. It should be. And honestly, if I was doing the same exercise, they would be in there. My only worry is if I could pick one team in all concave to say underachieve, time and time again. It's Jamaica. When you look at gold cup, it's the U.S. or Mexico, right? When it's not, who has success in the gold cup? It's Jamaica, yet when it comes to World Cup qualifying when it comes to actually being a unified front, they've underachieved. That would be my only caveat there, but yes, if I'm doing this exercise with you, Jamaica is a shoo in. Okay, also, we have to mention with Jamaica the kids, right? We want to see those kids at the next World Cup. You look good, you play good. All right, so I'm going, I'm going to make it. I'm also putting in Costa Rica. This one was a little bit tougher for me, hurt. But kind of like what Jamaica, if you've got some guys who are elite level players in Concacaf, it can be a huge difference maker. It certainly a huge difference maker in goal for Costa Rica. And yes, he's not a spry young chicken anymore. 36 right now. He'll be 39 for the next World Cup, but we know goalies age differently. I don't think it's and by the way, it's a very motivated, so this is a guy who went on a loan to Nottingham Forest from PSG. That to me tells me it's a guy who's not content to ride off into the sunset, right? We know he had offers from this side of the world. He chose to stay in that side of the world and continue to prove himself. He's going to be a huge part of Costa Rica for the next cycle, I believe. Beyond that hurt, I'm betting on their consistency. The last 6 world cups, they've missed once. I thought this past World Cup would be the one. What kind of the old generation fell off? It didn't. They still were able to get the job done. I'm betting on Costa Rica here. Maybe it's a little bit nostalgia, but I still feel confident in the tea cost. What say you? They had to go on a historic second half run in concave qualifying to make that work. Or you could say they could afford a terrible first half running qualifying and still managed to get in. If you want, now you mentioned a goalkeeper and that's all you mentioned. All right, let me read you off really quickly the starting lineup against Germany, that four two game, which is crazy. You have navas over 30 of yellow over 30 duarte over 30 Boston over 30 Vargas over 30 fuller. Leave kapu fuller for a second off this borghese over 30 Takeda. Aguilera Campbell, who's 30 right now, and vinegars over 30. So it's not the Sprite of teams and the biggest caveat here is at least around the S.W.A.T. as the head coach here. But very interesting young group coming up. So yeah, I have them in there as well. Well, who else is it going to be, right? Home field advantage, you think of places that are tough to go, you know, Mexico, the U.S. have not just dropped points in Costa Rica. They've like gotten embarrassed in Costa Rica. So Costa Rica, tough place to play. I think that'll give them an edge. I also think that'll be an edge for the last team I'm picking. Kind of my dark horse here. I was between her and Salvador and Kurosawa, but I've just seen more from El Salvador. So I think they're going to grab that 6th and final spot out of Concacaf. I'm betting big time here on Hugo Perez. This is a vote of confidence on Hugo Perez. Tell me I'm wrong. I think this is where you're wrong, and it's because it will. Everything tells me that Hugo Perez is maybe looking for something bigger, something more consistent, something where they'll actually give him funds to work with, whether that be a club situation or elsewhere and because we're betting on the man ugo Fett is here, I think something tempts him away. I think he's a saving grace for this program and that's really what keeps me from saying it's Hugo Perez and his national team in 2026. If he's there, yeah, for sure, absolutely, because it's on him. No, you mentioned go to Sal, Suriname is a very interesting process. Aaron vinter, who was what TFC, if this team right now, what the amount of dual NASA could bring in if that actually applies. Because of Suriname's government laws. But they've got a very interesting team. Becker, FC union Berlin, Suriname, dude. The guy's doing well. All right, so there you have it. I think outside of those a pretty good bet there. And just imagine herk. You know how many salvadorans are in the United States? Could you imagine El Salvador playing in the United States in the 2026 D.C.? Home games, baby, no, remember. We don't have any home games in D.C..

And like you said if the assaults pulled well they're asking you to send thing what's next what you think. Everyone is back on it now and what. I'm like going to stop because now the parliament is talking about it. He was mentioned Speech you if that didn't happen then we will not will have everybody talking about it jones and so yes yes somewhere. Why is it. Is it out. It should be now is it. I'll do against resume again. Good enough no. I don't think so because you get points adopted for from all play on the. That's stephen w didn't plane as we saw this the points were deducted deducting points. Maybe for on you know rubbing once again. I'm sitting here. We always assume that we know better. If i was. If i was without this i would have done that. We need to try and see what's possible in order to to change stuff but finds of thousand euro found. I mean i. I know it's money for a lot of people. I'm just saying sometime for those for those clubs like really are no worries but you have to also make those clubs are accountable and see what's happening in the same way with their funds and what not only lets me. Johnny laugh cherry on race next step. We've seen among monaco with see you. Gino the us it montreal. What you next step is in in management apple. I learned a lot this to me. You can't call yourself a manager until you have been psyched. also i over one. You don't have time back. I'm gonna go all do people didn't wanna know you know seventeen hundred dollars. You're almost just above gatien trying to deal with a lot of youngsters that did a tremendous job for me but don't even let pass the first transfer window to try to see you can bring a nut. It is what it is an odyssey in montreal as you can imagine. Covid covy dobbin. So i've been. I found myself in two situation that were not the best one to deal with. Especially i'm sure you will know that. The canadian team to relocate at one point in the us and and it was. We couldn't go back home to see the family because if we go back home if he went back home we are to quarantine so we couldn't train and staying there for too long. The guys were missing their families and then we. Mls is back tournament. I don't remember that one but we were we were. I think it was on another tim. I forgot one month beyond all the team's training because we stayed in phase one for a month when they could they could train in their local markets so it was pretty challenging. And if i had the personal issue of everybody going through covid away from their family as you can imagine. I'm just sitting was the first thing that everyone wanted to to do for. Covid was to be with their family. But when we had to leave and relocate just imagine this scene that created while you have to perform and whatnot it was it was it was pretty challenging but next still the same thing. I came back for obvious reason. Because i didn't see my kids for a year. It was a bit too much for me to take as you can imagine. Covid mess all vulnerable emotion emotional. We posed something that. I'm sure i didn't do that in my life. Once we had to pose an think and talk to ourselves you pose and you have to talk to yourself. You're like what am i doing to. They usually you'll have something right so you you kind of avoid what's happening in and around you but Yeah that's i still want to coach. That will be something. That is something that i've been a game. That's for sure. But i want to coach to the right project. Understand me well ruby. I'm not sitting here demanding stuff. Because i'm nowhere near that but still has to be the right. The right project for me without congratulations from this. The is a family full of vitamins thank you..
