"You, for the kind introduction and I was so excited to speak with theresa and Fatty Day, because evolve have big. Businesses and I find that sells is something that can be really hard to hire for and really hard to learn. A lot of my background is on the product side so. We can make prototypes. We can get things out there. We can handle inbound, but when it comes to having a really strong smell strategy including hiring a sales voice. Something! That's been been tricky over time, so I wanted to have this conversation to get as much advice as possible about how you went about finding your sales hires what you looked for any challenges you had along the way. I love it awesome. This is my favorite kind of conversation so many ideas Matt. Let me ask you a question, so maybe can you describe it in like a minute so that we can maybe give you also some specific advice in your case, so how many? How many customers you have today, what is the enterprise sales cycle? Look like how long did it take? What's the average customer take? Do you have any sales reps like? Can you paint a little bit of the picture? Because maybe then we could actually give you some specific like actionable things out of this. So our team is very small and we're four people and we just brought on. To people went to help kind of conscious and sales. I'm in another person to help execute in sales, but there's not somebody who's full. We wanted to kind of test and see. What we liked to get a handle of this situation, we have about six customers or so are we generally sell to large businesses, and especially, because the product that we make is very hardware focused. It was really around the beginning of last year we were able to get to market in a meaningful way when we were able to have samples were like this. Versus like imagine what you could get. Rich is a really different process to last year. We say on a few fortune one thousand companies. This year we're hoping to bring out a few more, but as he mentioned as. Her and I do most of the sales calls, and at some point for these really high attached cells processes. It really doesn't scalp very well, so I think that in the past we felt a little burnt by certain sales hires, and so we're trying to think okay. How do we re strategize everything about this differently? In order to be able to hire better, and because I think for the company to grab, we definitely have to have to have someone. Well. Let's turn to our expert Therese, Tucker. What's your advice to Mattie? Mattie I like you don't come from a sales background. And I definitely made plenty of mistakes in the early days and I have to tell you that the first really capable sales leader that I hired made the difference between the company succeeding and failing okay, but before I found him I definitely went through a number of. Different attempts at trying to find the right people, and it's difficult, because people that are in sales can talk a good game right just about all of them, and that may or may not translate in terms of. Performance now with that you have to think about the kind of sales culture that you want I did not want a sales culture like some of the other software companies that I've worked at you know there are certain software companies that have reputations for people, basically just brawlers. They grabbed the prospect, and they throw them on the ground and stomp on them until they get a deal I've had a few of those okay again. That's not something that necessarily comes through in an interview, because everybody's on their best behavior in an interview, so you're GONNA WANNA. Look for proven success. You're going to want to look for culture alignment in terms of the culture that you're setting for your company. For your early sales. People I would suggest that you do options. A really good salesperson can work anywhere I mean they really, can't they? They've got all the options in the world right I mean in. Actual you know they can go anywhere. And so why would they come to a small company that may or may not succeed in a new market. So, what is the carrot to get somebody WHO's really good? And, typically that would be stock options that gives them tremendous upside.

"That was master from Elise Laura for the Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. Music has long been a family affair as a teen. Her brothers recruited her to become a member of guide. The dossier together they've won. Three grammys and twenty-one Latin grammys away has spent the past few years reintroducing herself as a solo artist and along with resident her brother and bad bunny co and performed a few lundahl. Scoot Yose the song that became the anthem. Puerto Rico's protests. Listening to Alamo Laura. It is clear that La like the island. She loves is recognizing the dots of her own strength. Welcome to New York City. Thank you good to see you and your hotel room. Thank you for making this work. I appreciate your your released. A motor prior to the protests. Ousting the governor your lyrics I saw in countless protest signs. My friend ANA lives on the island and she calls among Laura a premonition. Ooh I heard that little Very Super Gracie for me. Because maybe the only thing I can think of is like when you wish something so bad and then suddenly becomes reality. I think that might be what happened. Because I'm I've always had this frustration. Not only about a colonial status and how we see things but the thing that froze therese me the most is when I I start seeing the people thinking that they're not enough that they are not a capable of doing anything that we need dependency and for me. That's not part of our essence and I can see so much more From the three. Can People that what we see ourselves and for me. That was my biggest frustration. And what made me write this songs? Did you always see the islands relationship to the US that way or did you have an a Ha moment? I've always seen it because thanks to my family like we all share assange the same ideals and and I remember having that teenage moment of questioning myself if I actually believed in independence or if it was just because my family believes in it and I remember having that moment and realizing that yes I do believe in independence and I little by little. I've been appreciating more who we are what we have and even though Puerto Rico has been a colony for so long our identity still remains and that is something that we should recognize and wonder why does our identity still remains. And that's maybe has to do with the moment. We are leaving now. Sharpening the knives became the anthem of the protest. How to come together? Well I suddenly received a call from my brother that they were just doing this song. I mean it was almost like one day to another and they told me to write the chorus. He just send me the beats that were made through. I had an idea about like what it was going to be about because we were all very angry about the whole situation. But I didn't hear what my brother road or by Bonnie and neither my brother I mean we were all like on our own writing what we were feeling. But since we're Puerto Ricans. I think we were sharing that same anger and we were fears. You know with everything that was going on and we just expressed our cells in different ways. And that's how it all came together and They just told me about the the knives concept so I I just like road what I felt and and the melody and everything but he was like very from the heart. What did it then feel like to listen to that song? Play in the streets. In that moment it was amazing. Especially because the people just knew the Holy Rick's like did they after so are the same day. I don't remember but it was crazy. But at empowering you know I mean Puerto Rico must have a lot of political songs. But we don't know about them so much and I think in that moment we were just like seeking for something that we could and

Invest in eliminating hepatitis, UN health agency urges ahead of World Hepatitis Day

"This is an academy with you and US recent reductions in the cost of diagnosing and treating viral hepatitis should be an incentive for countries to scale up investments in disease elimination. That's the view of the World Health Organization which is calling on all countries to take advantage of the lower costs in match investments to eliminate disease ahead of world appetite is day marked this Sunday the Blue Ocean EPA titus team leader Dr Mark Ball Therese spoke to you and uses Cimmamon guy and explained. Prevention measures that some countries are taking to protect against appetite is related diseases. We focused on the need for testing and treatment treatment this quite inexpensive now for hepatitis b the Best Treatment is the use of turnoff off of you can also use an tack. These medicines are now expensive and quite effective. Further treatments are being developed. Also for appetite is be we are actually hopeful that within the next five to ten years we may have a cure appetite is be as well for Hepatitis C.. We currently have a cure and the medicines direct acting antivirals and they're available now in countries where you have access to generics. They're available at relatively low cost approximately ninety. Eighty dollars or even in some countries lower that so these medicines have really been revolutionary because now it is possible to treat chronic viral infection that causes many many deaths in developing countries are hepatitis diagnosis is to being readily available for those who are suffering it should be widely available in however in most countries. They're still not a strong focus on viral hepatitis. Currently we estimate only about twenty percent of persons. She's living with Hepatitis C.. F. Ever been diagnosed appetite is be it's even less than twenty percent since its World Hepatitis Day. What how do you envision to prevalence of the treatment of hepatitis for the future so yeah as I mentioned we have excellent treatment already available for appetizers? The Sea and the current treatment is two to three months. We have three different pension typic- regiments that we recommend in our new guidelines that came out last year at World Hepatitis Day and we are now recommending tweet all this would allow actually eliminating disaffection defection worldwide hopeful also that new treatments will become available for children as well or recommendation says for children under twelve we recommend waiting until the age of twelve however very soon there will be treatments available also for children. We expect even before the end of this year or two more questions. You mentioned that Egypt and other countries are living. We've high levels of Hepatitis C.. Why is this Oh this is because in the past there was transmission through unsafe injections unsafe healthcare so Egypt has really taken the bull by the horns they have already tested the sixty million people in a country of about ninety two million people I believe so they have a very quickly expanded a program and they're testing for both hepatitis B d._N._C.? Primarily have a problem with appetite to see affection <hes> because of three hundred was given many years ago for she surmises that was injections that were not always safe but they are providing treatment for free to the population and have already reduced the prevalence vary. Very greatly now Egypt assist other countries in further reducing the prevalence of Hepatitis C. so for prevention. It's the critical thing for hepatitis. B Prevention is to provide the immunizations particularly to infants because because there's a lot of moderate to child transmission ninety percent of transmission for hepatitis B. is actually early in life and for that is very important that countries implement also the birth dose of Hepatitis B vaccine and we are really pushing here at Ably Chore Now for All Countries to implement the Birtles Hepatitis B. which means vaccine that's given within twenty four hours after birth and then an additional two or three or vaccinations later during infancy in addition to that for hepatitis.

History-making aspects of the midterms a lot of people normally skip the midterm elections can feel that they actually made an impact this year because the exit polls indicate that sixteen percent of the people voting we're doing show for the first time in a midterm election ever. Those voters were choosing Democrats Republicans by a rate of sixty two percents to thirty five percent campaign spent more than three billion dollars on traditional media advertising head of the election yesterday and should have billion about a billion more than the twenty fourteen elections. More women were headed to congress and ever before results that have been term election is still coming in believe it or not but women are on track to exceed the previous record of one hundred seven among them, a Leib and Alon Omar Minnesota who are the first Muslim women to be elected to congress and on a related. Oh congress. Now have the first two they had of American women in place. Democrats Therese David's from Kansas, and Dave Holland of New Mexico will in fact, be sworn in outside Washington nine women now get to put the word governor in front of their names. But it wasn't just about the ladies over in Colorado. Jared polish is down the country's first openly gay governor Oregon's Kate Brown was the first LGBTQ governor and the people celebrating Winston include thirty women of color, and perhaps as were as a warning to the establishment. This is the largest number of freshmen lawmakers since nineteen Ninety-three. So how does President Trump? About all this. Well, according to his Twitter feed satisfied, he wrote tremendous success tonight. He offered in the early stages of the results. Thank you to all watch your state. There's a reason for that. All the candidates. He campaigned heavily for appear to have one. That's a good thing. While the official being count is not exactly clear at this moment in some races. They're very likely to have a number of investigations on their minds, and there are many investigations will go on because of different areas that had problems at the polls et cetera et cetera. I was late to errands table. Oh, and I gotta say thank you to Aaron who owns Aaron's table. What a great place what a fun night it's in Jupiter Nabokov by first time in that area ever. And I gotta tell you. It was a lot of fun and funny. Quick funny story when I got there I was a little bit late waiting in line to vote, and I was close to seven o'clock. It was just a crazy night. I was supposed to be there to go on the seven. I got there. Ten after seven show when I got there. They were the middle conversation. It was MRs Florida on the right, Bill Adams, Karen, Curtis and barsky. And I was supposed to have one of those sheets. But because I got there late. They just you know, improvised for people. So I'm standing about two feet away from the table on the side. And this guy comes up to me at any sex say you can't stand here and starts pushing me away. And I said, no, no, no, I'm supposed to be on the radio. And he says what are you talking about? I said I'm rich Stevens from the radio station. Oh, sorry. That was Aaron that almost threw me out of the place, or at least move me out of the way and the food was spectacular. The people that came to see us are the best people on the planet because it was packed in there. And it's always a great opportunity to stand around or sit around and talk to people and hear comments what people say about the broadcast. I appreciate that very much especially everybody that came out last night. And I don't know how many pictures were taken. But I do want to say if you're wanting to people that took pictures with me, can you Email them to me because I'd love to put him on the bug. It's rich r I c h a fifty W F T L dot com. Rich, eight fifty WFL dot com. And again, thank you so much to Erin. Just what a great person in some unbelievable. Great stories, really truly. Appreciate you. And look forward to coming back there sometime they kept when we were doing broadcast. They kept bring different appetizers out, which you obviously can't eat while you're on the air because you got to talk, and I'm still horse from today from talking. In the break, you can just like shop some stuff in your mouth and enjoy it. And every time they brought something out the next thing was better than lasting when you thought that the last thing could have been any better, which is really incredible. I highly recommend errands table and wine bar in Jupiter and. Like, I said, it's my first time that was even in that area. Thank God for GPS. Because maybe in the daytime it would have been a better experience as far as getting to the place. But it was darker ready, of course. And if it wasn't for GP, my GPS has a habit. I don't know why I guess I gotta update it keeps telling me to take turns that if I were to follow the GPS should take turns at end up in a building last night literally in a building a couple of years ago when I was headed to the hard rock, I always use the GPS, and it told me to make the next left the next laughed and said. Left at the traffic light had I follow deemed structures where told me to make a left. I would have been a a little lake. So I guess it is GPS or not perfect or I just eat up the system. There was a time. When I worked in Denver. And we had a huge staff party. And I was at this restaurant called Burris, which was right in the city of Denver. So I did the GPS couple of other people did what do you call Google maps. And a lot of people went to the wrong Parrado tumor as one was nowhere near the other one. And it really should have been only fifteen twenty minutes from the radio station, and Harry, I'm driving driving and driving. And apparently it took me to the wrong one. And then it got there late, of course, because I went to the wrong place, and it turned out about half of the people that either you she PS or Google maps did the same thing they went to the wrong place. So you gotta be really careful with these things. But you think the somehow with the technology. I know I gotta take it in the house plug into computer Goto the garment website, but you would think that somehow they could send a signal from the same satellite. That knows where you are. And what you speed is that take just pop the update into the GPS, and unfortunately doesn't. Work like that coming up next the Georgia gubernatorial race sees polling problems. There were also some polling problems all over south, Florida. Oh, gee, what a surprise and it took forever for somebody's racist to be called. And right now, you know, depending on where you get your news from TV wise. I just don't understand. We know that. Andrew.

"I article which i saw this and i said you know is it really worthwhile talking about but on further review i said well it's sort of okay it has to do with whether or not smelling your food makes you facts and you say smelling your food what on earth does this have to do that well what they did this was a mouse study and they found that obese mice who lost their sense of smell lost weight so you get your basic fat mouse they manipulate their affect therese senses said that they are not able to smell and they lose ways despite the fact that there is still eating in a highfat diet so you have to say okay that would really struck me something else is going on here now i could understand if the the sense of smell in a mouse was cut off and they became depressed have you ever seen the depressed mouse it's quite striking they would not eat then you could say look the mouth is depressed and not eating but no they still ate the high fat diet just like they're they're they're cousins in addition the mice with a boosted sense of smell the super smiler's got even fatter on a high fat diet in mice with normal smell so they went the other way they said okay a somehow manipulate so that they could smell better and they got even more fat so now this is awfully interesting and what they're trying to get at is that somehow the brain is involved in the sense of smell realizing that there is as food and how you're going to metabolize the calories that you eat and that somehow this whole access between the sense of smell the brain your digestive system your metabolism is all interrelated which once again adds another layer of both wonderment i haven't use that word and while somebody look it up his word wonder meant a real word but the wonder of it all and the complexity of obesity so that even most of us are going to say just eat less there are many many more factors in the overall scheme.
