"So what do you say to that? Very few it's well under a million Yeah, I think it's an uh-huh. I think it's in the hunt low hundreds of thousands. Take a look I've spoken in nine provinces, but I never got an invitation to speak in Prince Edward Island, I'm not sure there are many invitations to speak there But if you are listening there and invite me I would like to be able to say I've spoken all ten provinces I've spoken in 48 states. I've spoke but I've missed both Dakotas. I've been to the two Dakotas many times Well, not many times South Dakota many times Hundred seventy five thousand people. Yeah That is really it's really something the worst economy since the Depression in Canada and He may be reelected or at least his party I'm telling you. This is I came up with this idea today on the show That another way to define Explain good versus evil in the world is destroyers versus builders The left only destroys tell me something good. They have made I'll give you a chance Hmm it's toughy Liberals have built conservatives build Conservatives conserve what has built been built. It's our task and the left destroys The Islamist not the Islamic the Islamist worlds destroyed That's why they love each other. They have nothing in common theoretically except hatred of the West And of Israel, that's key After all Israel is an outpost of Western civilization in the Middle East Which is so ironic That's their admission. They loathe the West they don't want anything Western Whether it's women's rights human equality tolerance openness dialogue dissent They don't want anything from the West That is the Islamist in their Middle East the Palestinians are chief among them Not all Palestinians for those recording my show But it doesn't matter Not all Germans were Nazis. Not all Russians were communists, but it didn't really matter that it Wall Street journey Journal patriotism's decline imperils the military Trying to appeal to woke young people will only make the recruitment problem more severe. You want to know the proof? I didn't know this till I read a lot about this this weekend. The Marines are doing fine in recruitment They don't do wet woke recruiting Not interesting Did you know folks I didn't know this till I read this in Newsweek and the Wall Street Journal that they they used a Drag queen in ads to recruit people You Know what a smear of the memory of the of Centuries of American military that is they used a drag queen you knew that Did you tell me? You've been dreaming about the dress come find the one at David's bridal the most glamorous designer wedding gowns are now 15% off Bridesmaid dresses that fit beautifully start around $99 Whether you need a veil jewelry shoes or even lingerie and shapewear It's all at David's bridal tape 20% off outfit making accessories for a limited time Stop by your local David's bridal store or shop David's bridal comm today terms and conditions apply Hi everybody Dennis Prager here, let's hear that again. Let's hear them all. That's the man I have the man and club from the who said that originally in Dutch Hitting the head by a windmill. It's clearly not a Phrase used in Uruguay for a club from the moment. I Just want to tell you folks in advance. You are a very lucky person To hear my guest. I tell you that in advance Thank you. Yes, sir in in Holland straight from Holland, by the way Leon DeVinter or as Americans would incorrectly say de winter But yes, it is DeVinter. We have had him on many times This is one of the leading writers one of the greatest living European writers and perhaps the most prestigious Dutch writer today both nonfiction and fiction which is very rare by the way To say that I am a fan of Leon DeVinter is to understate the case considerably And I am I am a fan of yours here here look at this look at this my rational Rational Wow the rational Haggadah was that because you didn't see me for a long time But I saw you almost daily in the Bible series with Peterson. Oh nice, I Enjoyed it somewhere and I enjoyed you especially you it was really you you you were playful you were playful. Yes, that's true Yes, in fact Jordan Peterson came over to me after an event we did together and he said something like this It was very totally seriously goes, you know You you're so intense about the most intense issues of life, but you're such a happy guy yeah, it struck him as Leading of an explanation, but you're like that too. You you are this happy individual With intense, I mean, I don't know your private life, but you radiate a joie de vivre It may be a Jewish deviation. Oh No, I wish it were Yes, the the Jewish deviation is complaining not Yeah That's great Anyway folks there is so much to talk about about the Netherlands and about the Middle East and and He is one of the great voices. I saw the interview with you in the times of Israel and we're gonna get to that it there you're some of your comments are Sobering to say the least and you you you were in Israel until a few days before October 7th And you only left because you were hit by a guy on one of these electric scooters while you were bicycling so you had to go back to Holland for surgery and We spoke earlier and happily you're recuperating and I expect you'll be back to your complaining self very shortly Oh, yeah, that's the first thing I will do First thing you will do fair enough So let's talk about Holland Holland. It is amazing how much Oh shouldn't say Holland. It's Netherlands Right you Holland is a district of the Netherlands We have we have 12 provinces and two of them one is North Holland. The other one is South Holland But we also say Holland you do it doesn't matter. Although officially it's the Netherlands. Yeah. Okay, so it's not insulting to say Holland No, not at all. Oh, okay fine. All right, but I'll say the Netherlands because but the name of the language is Holland's Dutch is Holland's in Holland's Netherlands Dutch both both are used. Okay, so let's let's talk. So let's begin a Little about a year or two back. What did the Dutch government? Want to do to the farmers of the Netherlands? It It will be a very surprising answer We have no clue Dennis we have no clue because it's for completely irrational Think about it. Think about it. Maybe the best the best farmers you have great farmers Maybe the Dutch are a little bit better because we have such limited space, right? They must be Extremely productive. Yeah and productive And and why would you limit? this huge output the second exporters of Whatever they do After the u.s. Can you imagine this? I did not know that. Oh, I thought Ukraine was that's fascinating the Dutch the Dutch is with this little amount of land with this almost nothing and half of it below sea level Behind the dikes. It's amazing. Why would you limit this? There must be a master plan But our government our leaders were never really clear about the master plan behind all of this Why would you tell farmers you bet you better stop with it? We'll pay we buy your your farms and We do nothing with it or we build houses on it on them What's the master plan? There are some rumors and there are even some reports and one of them I read even a governmental Reports that say that says we should transform the Netherlands into one big urban area and One part of it is for people to live in in high-rises They Don't need cars anymore course. They don't need gardens and everything should be Could be reached within let us say 15 minutes walk, right? And the rest should be in the industrialized big box Internet companies Stuff like that and We perform as the heart of this year of an of an area together with the north of Belgium and the western part of Germany And we're going to completely reorganize this part of the world That may be because I don't have any other answer because we don't understand because all the arguments they use are complete nonsense Still they do this they Well, didn't they didn't think if the argument based on global warming on on the on farms being disproportionately productive of methane and carbon dioxide Yeah, not really Mason stuff that's yeah because cows To they produce. Yeah, a lot of air right and and that's that's Those are the arguments and at the same time, of course, it's ridiculous to to minimize there's a The output of our agriculture. That's what we eat That's what in our supermarket and where must it come from important bite with trucks or fly them in from Spain from Wherever as if that is completely neutral for climate, right? In the end we don't know and because we don't know and the arguments were completely superficial They and I'm bit with they I mean our political elites our culture elites. They last surprisingly confidence of the voter and That paid out One and a half week ago, which is what I'm gonna get to now, obviously so Just name me if you would the parties Better what is there a major political party that opposed these plans? Yes, yes, they were there there were parties there were they were present as as as as a potential power They Didn't have that many votes yet. There was a woman called Caroline Thunderplus, he has an Irish mother. That's why she's called in Dutch. We would say Caroline, but she's Caroline one seat There was another guy who left the Christian Democrats called Peter omp tikt one guy and Then we have of course the Freedom Party by Geovildos who was also opposed to all of this And How many seats a very how many seats did the Freedom Party have? At the moment they have 37 no, not not with the new elections prior to the new elections They had 17. So they had seven how many seats did the ruling party have and its allies and Its allies they had in total before the election he had 76 so it was Overwhelmingly, okay with transforming farms into urban areas overwhelmingly For the ruling party, yeah for the parties turning parties, okay back in a moment All right, Leon, do you want anybody to know about a recent book before we take a commercial break? anything to tell people Yes, I have I just have a new novel but it's only in Dutch Come back. I will talk about the English ones in a moment. Leon de vinter is my guest in Holland Venice Prager here with one of the Wonderful people in my life Leon de vinter the great Dutch novelist and political commentator We Were talking about the Netherlands and then we're going to talk about the Middle East He was in Israel till right before the attack and he would have been there during the attack. How do you not been? Hit while while bicycling in in Israel and You were talking about the Dutch Parliament so The the elites in in the Netherlands including obviously the reigning parties Wanted to change Dutch farmland duck again folks Remember the Netherlands is the second largest exporter of food in the world behind the u.s. This I didn't even know I knew was big. I didn't know how big and they want to wreck that in the name of combating global warming and in the name of Making sure that everybody is in a high-rise apartment and and does not have the most loathsome thing in the world a car which is I want you to know I tell everybody my Dream of if I designed the Statue of Liberty, it would have a car on top. I Identify cars with liberty. Yes, me too. Me too. Yeah. Well, that's very on Dutch of you I feel ashamed. Yes. Yes. I'm sorry. Yeah. No, I saw plans for these for these new neighborhoods these new The new housing and they must be built without garages. Oh That's so important. That's right. Of course. So you can't have a car exactly. Yeah so it's not even a matter of will they have a way for you to Refill your car with electricity There won't be any place to keep the car. So you don't have to Power you can't you can't yeah, exactly It is because if if everybody walks or bicycles or goes on public transport Their dream world is realized. I'm not sure why that is a dream world But in any event, there's nothing I rather have than a Soviet style high-rise apartment That is faceless bland. Yeah, non individual Okay. Anyway, so all right, so again because time is flies with you So I want to get this clear for everyone to understand so you just had elections about ten days ago in the Netherlands and The opposition the major opposition party was is headed by Kurt Wilders, correct? Yeah, okay, or as we say Garrett, but I'll say hurt for you and because I like to do the real yes, my joy so How what was the a what is the name of his party B? How many seats did he go to? his party is called PVV Partay for the Friday party for freedom the freedom party They had 17 seats and they went to 37 seats With which they are the main party. They have most seats of any other party. They're there That's amazing. That's amazing So they gained stay gained 20 seats. Well, they doubled More more than double right more than double. Yes. Yes. Well, I'm curious. So tell I know you'll tell me the truth Did you expect this? I Yes Yes, I did Wow, I did expect this because Apart from media apart from the pundits apart from the the official commentariat There is something brewing and It's the same thing is happening in Germany and France in the UK and Sweden and Italy it's all over and Argentina and Argentina that is of course the awareness the sensation that our Representatives the political elites are not representing us voters anymore They have agendas We Don't share that they try to to to force upon us Whether it's about migration whether it's support about energy climates cars You name it and? And people are fed up they have enough of it and If you are not dealing with regular folks, I must of course all the time also think back of Hillary Clinton and and her remarks about Middle America And and the people she she despises we have the same here and they go on and on and we're not aware that they are Creating a force that's for them unstoppable and that they hate they cannot control it Main thing was immigration.

China's Naval Dominance Rises as U.S. Focuses on Diversity

"Around the world the upper hand. China wants to set the stage right now to be able to have absolute naval supremacy in the South China Sea. What are we worried about in the United States of America? Back home? We're worried about that? We're looking at the warnings of history to think to ourselves, hey gee, maybe we should try to do something about this? Nope. Instead, what we're worried about is are we spending enough on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility? DOD The has scaled up its spending on DEIA in the past three years, jumping from $68 million in fiscal year 2022 to $86 .5 million in fiscal year 2023. But that figure surged another $28 .2 million to $114 .7 million in the department's initial year 2024. If a DOD's initial request for DEIA funding in the final legislation, the department will have spent $270 million on diversity initiatives across the last three years. $270 million on diversity initiatives. Biden's Pentagon has repeatedly pushed for further adoptions of the DEI agenda in its operations. The department's strategic management plan for fiscal years 2022 to 2026 listed one of its goals as

After The Game (MM #4625)

"It was a rough weekend, went up to see my nephews play football in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Didn't tell them we were coming up, but surprised everybody and made the trip from Nashville. It didn't go their way. They lost. Wasn't one of the greatest games. But what amazed me was what happened after the game. They got beat something like 28 to 7, and their 7 points came in the last few minutes. But the one thing they were more upset about? They have a tradition of going out and praying after the game. And so the family and the fans come out and join them on the field and they pray. Well, they were the visiting team and they weren't allowed to do that. And the coach, while leaving the field, wasn't upset that they'd lost, wasn't upset that their season was over. He was upset that a school tradition wasn't allowed to happen because the Catholic school in Fort Wayne wouldn't allow them on the field. Now, of course, all their fans were on the field whooping and hollering because they were going to the state championship. But through all of that, all the coach cared about was that something that mattered to that family of coaches, players, and home families couldn't do what they'd done every single game of the year. He was upset about the game, but the family and the community much more important.

A highlight from Communicating Christ to Others

"Let's open our Bibles tonight, we're gonna actually be in just a couple quick passages tonight, but let's begin this evening in the book of Mark chapter 16, Mark 16, we're gonna look at one of the Great Commission passages to begin with tonight. The title of tonight's message is, Communicating Christ to Others. Communicating Christ to Others. What do we mean by that? So we're gonna start out with something, a very familiar command to us by the Lord Jesus, so Mark 16 and verse 15. The Bible says here, And He said unto them, unto His disciples, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature, or literally to all creation. Wherever you go, go and preach the gospel, proclaim the gospel. And so this is definitely some very important instructions from our Lord, we refer to this as the Great Commission, and as a command for us to be His salt alights, to spread His message of truth, no matter where we go around the world. We've been talking on Wednesday nights, one of the blessings or assurances that Jesus gave His disciples and even to us, that we would do greater works than even He did, and not greater in like how many or even in the way that they're being done, but greater in the scope that was done. And so remember Jesus, the miracles that He performed was pretty much just to Israel, His teaching was to Israel, to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, but we see in the book of Acts, that message went really not in just Jerusalem and Judea, but also Samaria in the uttermost part of the world, much broader than it was during Christ's ministry itself. And so it's again, they didn't do a greater job than Jesus did, I mean, no one can do that, okay? But the scope of it was much greater. And so tonight we're going to be talking about really the application of that, and even as we look at missions today, here at Victory Baptist, I'm very proud that we support about 21 missionaries serving really around the world, representing human here in Minnesota and then abroad, and we rejoice in that. I'm really looking forward to this missions conference coming up in just a few weeks. Again, we have three speakers that will be with us, Brother Sam Slobodian, who we know well, reaching Ukrainians and Eastern Europeans, Russian speakers, predominantly, with the gospel, and looking forward to hearing an update from what's going on in his world, his ministry. And then we have another man, Andrew Counterman, who is a director over a ministry that helps church planters in Latin America, and God has been doing some good things through his ministry. I actually talked to him this week, and I found out that years ago, he actually used to be on the board of BIEM, which is the mission board of Sam Slobodian. So he and Sam Slobodian are good friends, haven't seen each other in a while, so they look forward to reconnecting at the conference. Small world, isn't it? And then we have David Bennett, with Silent Word Ministries International. I've known David for many years, and he ministers to the deaf around the world, and really kind of an interesting mission field. I think a lot of times we forget about the deaf communities around, and how much they do need to hear, literally, they need to hear Jesus, they need to hear about Jesus. How do deaf people hear? They actually hear with their eyes and they talk with their hands, okay? Pretty amazing. They still communicate. So very interesting, how do we share the gospel with the deaf around us? And we're gonna do a lot of application here tonight as well. So when we think about the Great Commission, to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, although this command is simple, the task before us is great. In human terms, the Great Commission is daunting, but that God has promised us His presence and His power as we go forth in His name. In the world's population today, we have what, 7 .7 billion people, I believe, it's growing by the minute, right? And so there's a lot of people in this world, especially in the past 100 years, my word, the world's population has grown exceedingly. And so when we think of that, and we're supposed to go into all the world, preach the gospel to every creature, every person, wow, where do you start? Where do you begin? And I think that's kind of, when you look at it again from a human perspective, that seems overwhelming, but how do we do this? By looking at modern missions and when we kind of the traditional approach we take to missions, even here at Victory Baptist, there are a few challenges that must be considered. So I wanna do something tonight. About a year ago, we actually went over the philosophy of missions in the local church. We spent several weeks on why we do missions, why do we have, why is the local church involved? We talked about even the deputation process, is that even biblical support raising? Is that biblical? We talked about a little bit of the missions experience across the world and wherever they may be. We talked about all those things, but here's some, just a very quick recap of two things. First of all, what is missions? Let's talk about that. Missions is this, missions, this is kind of my definition in a way, but kind of modified from others, but missions is the responsibility and the task of the local church to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world for the purpose of discipleship, multiplication of self -supporting, self -governing and self -propagating churches for the glory of God, okay? So as we talk about works that are eventually self -supporting, self -governing, self -propagating church, in other words, they become kind of, they're not dependent on a foreign entity per se. They have their own independence, if you will. So that is, that's one of the goals of missions, but who is a missionary? Who is a missionary? There's a song that I remember singing when I was little, be a missionary every day. I don't be a missionary every day, tell the world that Jesus is the way. I don't know if you ever heard that song or not, but the fact of the matter is that song's not true. Not everyone is called to be a missionary as a vocational missionary. Everyone is called to be an ambassador for the Lord in that regard. You represent Jesus Christ no matter where you go, but here is, this is why. Why do we say, when we talk about missions and missionaries, who is a missionary? And this is a definition here, a missionary is one called by God to full -time service of Bible study and prayer and one who crosses cultural and or geographical boundaries to proclaim the gospel in areas where Jesus Christ is largely unknown, okay? Let me slow down a little bit and read that again because there's a lot in that. A missionary is one called by God to full -time service of Bible study and prayer and then one who crosses cultural and or geographical boundaries to proclaim the gospel in areas where Jesus Christ is largely unknown. So that's when we talk about missionaries and we support a missionary and we have, like you said, we have 21. That is generally their description, okay, in those parts, so very important, okay? But one thing that we're gonna talk about tonight is this. This is a practical way. We talked earlier about in modern missions, there are a few challenges that missionaries do face and it's one that often does not, it sometimes gets talked about but it is not really thought about. What do you mean? So it's, again, this is something that's talked about but not really thought about. What is one of these challenges? And one of the challenges that missionaries often face is that of language barriers. There's cultural barriers. I think we think about, when I was in Bible college, I was a missions major and so I remember going through one of our missions classes and our professor, he said that there is three Fs in the missionary experience. The first is fascination. When a missionary gets to the field, there's a fascination. It's kind of like honeymoon period, wow, you're kind of like the tourist, you know, you take pictures of everything, buy all the souvenirs, you know, you kind of get that fascination. The second part, though, after you're there for a while, you get, it becomes frustration because you figure out, wait a minute, you stick out like a sore thumb in that culture. You don't look like, talk like, act like the culture that you're in and sometimes they don't think the way you do or, you know, respond the way you're expecting. So there's a frustration in the culture. We never got to the fourth F, or the third F, excuse me, we never got to the third F, so I have no idea what comes after frustration. He left us hanging all these years, it's been 20 some years. I have no idea what we're supposed to end up. I would say, if anything, I think there is a sense of fulfillment that you are obedient to Christ, our faithfulness, that you're there sticking out as long as God keeps you in that area. But nonetheless, language barriers is very, it's a real barrier and it's actually more, and I'll kind of break it down a little bit here in just a moment here, but language barriers is actually a very serious barrier that missionaries must take, that they must cross. And so learning another language in another culture, preferably by immersion, is something that's very challenging that a lot of missionaries face and I think this is really where you find out who's going to stick it out in missions versus who's not going to stick it out. And I'll get to that, why is that, okay? So let me ask you this, how many of you took a foreign language, whether it be in high school, college, whether it be, several of you have, okay? I jokingly say, Linnea just started a Spanish class at co -op, but I jokingly say, the high school Spanish you have, by the time you get older, you're just good enough to order at Taco Bell, you know? So speaking, practically what do you do with that? And so if you've actually learned and studied another language, like actually seriously hit the books on it and to immerse yourself in that culture if you can, is very important. But here's some quick statistics. There are, how many languages are there in the world today? How many known languages? There are over, there's about, actually this is the report as of earlier this year, January 1st, 7 ,117 known languages spoken by people around the world, according to Ethnologue. Well over 7 ,000 languages represented around the world, that's a lot, okay? So here's the next question, I'm gonna ask you this, what do you think? Which language has the most native speakers, in other words, this is their first language, their birth languages if you will, which language has the most native speakers, what do you think? Chinese, yes, absolutely, 1 .27 billion people speak Chinese as their first language, English is third down the list, okay? So anyways, you think of this Mandarin or Cantonese, okay, that's very well spoken, okay? So how much of the world's population speaks English as a first or second language, what do you think? What percentage would you say of the world's population speaks English as a first or second language? What's that? I'd say you can learn to speak English and all that.

What is up, you Cafe Bitcoiners? What up? Hey, Alex, can you hear me? Yeah, man. Damn, the service is amazing. It's fantastic. I was going to have you co -host today, but if you have terrible interwebs, then we'll have to do it again a different time. Yeah, I'm sitting solid right now, but it's my last day in El Salvador, so it's touch and go, but it feels good right now. It feels real good. I people hear laughing and enjoying themselves in the background. Man. Yeah, that's Blake just got out of the surf, and now the homie Paul's taking my fish out, got a session in. I mean, this place is next level, but don't come here, the surf sucks. How you been, man? How's everyone doing? I know I've been off for a little bit, but keeping track of everything and saw that the SEC got dealt another, what looks like a little legal blow. Their legal department is, are they even batting 500 at this point? I don't know. I didn't hear anything. What are you talking about there? I thought I read some about Binance getting granted a confidentiality ruling that basically blocked a bunch of information from the grasp of the SEC for clients. I don't know. I just headlined Reddit, so don't quote me. Didn't dig a lot into it, but saw that that had occurred. Yeah, I didn't hear that. It would suck to be Gary Gunzler right now. Yeah, dude. They're sporting like city attorney type numbers, just getting mopped up, but I don't know. What do you mean? I'm sure he's gotten a job offer for BlackRock. He's sitting pretty. Oh, that's a good point, actually. Anybody want to take odds on Peter's thought there? I think Peter's probably right. I would say the likelihood of that is probably fairly high. That's a hell of a trifecta there. You should take that with Joe Carlos, sorry, Peter, like a ETF still within 2023 on top of a BlackRock job acceptance from Gensler thing. It's got to be like a hundred to one. Yeah, the theta on that is pretty high right now, so no. Yeah, that's like Buster Douglas numbers. It's wild. You know, we were joking in here the other day. Joe came in and we were talking a little bit about the ETFs and Joe was like, I don't understand why we're not seeing an ETF where you can see the actual addresses for the ETF you can verify on chain and then you have redemption directly to shareholders from the trust. And I was joking. I was like, man, somebody is going to do it. We should do it. Me and you, Joe. Let's do this thing. So people were tweeting at me like, is Swan going to do an ETF now? And it's like, dude, I was totally freaking joking about that. That's classic. Where's American HODL this morning? He was caffeinated up on fire yesterday. Dude, he was cracking me up and that guy is funny as hell. I was trying to hack a coconut up in El Salvador and I almost chopped my pinky off. Mickey Koss, good morning, Shelly. Good morning, Terrence. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. So we're going to have a pretty chill day today. We're going to be doing some beginners Q &A. We have a couple of news items to discuss. There's a lot of Bitcoin mining rigs getting plugged in apparently. Also, we're going to revisit. It's fun to, you know, the Internet's an amazing thing. You can come back and revisit stupid shit people said about Bitcoin. You know, Bitcoin is dying. This is dying. That's dying. Bitcoin is going to boil the oceans, all that. There's some interesting comments from Dave Ramsey that we're going to bring back up. Apparently, the central bank over in England wants all systemically important stablecoin firms to back their issuance with non -interest bearing central bank deposits. I mean, that's like a full on lizard move, in my opinion. We'll discuss that a little more too. But yeah. All right. Let's do the intro to the show. You're listening to Cafe Bitcoin. Welcome to Cafe Bitcoin. This is episode 476. Shout -outs to supporters on Fountain Nosterness. Our mission for the show is to provide signal in a sea of noise, teaching the other seven billion people on this planet why there is hope because of this bright orange future that we call Bitcoin. Today is November the 14th, Tuesday, 2023. Man, we're on our way to the next halving. It's coming up. Where's Ant when I need him? Here he comes. Yeah, man. I think, Ant, I'm going to just like lead off right with you if you're ready. I don't know if you can hear me right now, but we should start with some stats. Let's get some orientation. We haven't done stats in a long time. So let's begin with the stats and get an idea of where we are. Ant, are you there? Are you ready? Yeah, I got some stats. I got time chain stats up right here. Let's go. Taco, talk to us about this impenetrable freedom force field. What's it at? Current USD price, $36 ,587. We are at block height, $816 ,745. Current hash rate, seven -day moving average is around 435 exahash per second. Let's see, mempool transaction is still full a little bit. We got $211 ,000 climbing. The fastest fee right now is around 79 sats per v -byte. Good news, we got 161 days about to the halving, and we are currently up 25 % on the 200 -day And right now, let's see, sats per fiat dollar, is that how you say it? It's 2 ,732 sats per dollar right now. The last block was found by Antpool, and the total subsidy and fees was just over 7 Bitcoin. And I think it was around 10 % of that block was fees, so very interesting. We're 88 % into the halving. $23 ,254, we just hit a block. Block's left. And that's pretty much it for now. I think that's it. Sats per dollar. You can buy 2 ,734 sats per dollar. I didn't hear you if you said that, so I'm just saying it. That's okay, it moved. Technically two different data points. And we have also, there is also 93 .05 % of the total supply of Bitcoin that will ever be mined in the history of mankind has already been mined and distributed. So you might want to get some just in case this thing catches on a little bit. Hey, Ant, if you're in a stable situation, let's get you up as a co -host, my man. Okay, I'm going to switch networks. Okay, you let us know when you're ready. D++, good morning. Thank you for joining us. I know it's super early for you over there on the West Coast. Good morning. I have a huge smile on my face because I'm actually driving over to Club Lab here in Austin, and I feel like I just got the weather report. I felt like I was experiencing the future in real time for a minute there, hearing all of the stats on what Bitcoin's up to. I want that every morning. It's so good. Isn't it cool? You know, to me, it's like an orientation thing. It's useful to know where you are to figure out where you're going. You have to know where you are to figure out where you're going or how you're going to get to where you're going. But it's also really useful because when I started hearing stats like this when I was a newbie Bitcoiner, I didn't know what they meant. I was like, you guys are saying all these words that I don't know the meaning to. And it caused me to look them up, which forced me to learn about it, which was awesome. Also, 435 ExaHash is crazy. Last I checked, it was 420. And it's just so crazy to me how the hash has completely decoupled from the price. I mean, going on for probably a couple of years now, ever since we left China, it's just wild. But the big news for me today is I am driving to PlubLab. As you guys know, it's the Bitcoin startup accelerator and community accelerator in Austin. You have to come through if you're ever in town. And what I'm so excited about is I am enrolled in Nifty Lisa Nye's Taproot class. So I'm taking her Taproot class. She's pretty much one of the only people on the planet that can teach it because what we're doing is we're taking the spec, which is to say the BIPs, and we're implementing them, which is to say we're creating our own library that makes Taproot happen. And she's one of the only people that can really do this because she's one of the only people who can translate from the BIPs into the code because there are certain things that are kind of missing or glossed over. Obviously, it's all in there, right? But it's pretty hard to take the BIP and to just translate it into creating your own Bitcoin library. So it's so fun. It's very challenging. Definitely, this class is for experts only. But if you ever wanted to learn how Taproot works, I highly recommend taking her base 58 class.

A highlight from 3 Steps To CRUSH The Next Crypto Bullrun!

"I have three tips to master the upcoming bull run in crypto. You follow these three steps and you will set yourself up for financial freedom. Bitcoin bull run season is almost upon us and you want to make sure you have the tools to succeed. So kiss that mayo sandwich goodbye, it's time to make some real bread. Our first tip is have a clear game plan. That means a beginning, middle and end to your investment strategy. And that begins with your entry point on that coin you're buying. What you don't want to do is chase pumps and get caught up in buying just because everyone else is buying. You need to make a price target and stick to it. Do not fall for FOMO. And arguably more important than your entry is your exit. A coin doing 100x means nothing if you don't take profit and all the gains melt away. The best way to avoid that happening to you is to have multiple sell orders at multiple price targets. Personally, I hold a little Cardano and I plan on selling some as low as $4, even though I think it's going higher. And guess what? If it does go higher, I'll sell even more. I have price targets all the way up to $7 in case Cardano does a 20x from these current levels. It's important to realize you can't call the exact top. So sell over a period of time to hedge your bets. And to prevent your game plan from failing after you're hypnotized by high prices, visualize your goal from investing. If you're saving up for a car, a boat or a home down payment, it's much easier to hit that sell button if you're thinking of those goals. Picture yourself enjoying the fruits of your timely investment. Imagine you're already in that kitchen remodel. The boat is already in your driveway. Visualize that Rolex. Sure, that JPEG of that cartoon monkey looks cool. But imagine getting out of your mom's basement. To me, that looks a little cooler. But make sure you adjust your plan accordingly. New partnerships could inflate your favorite coin's value, meaning you might need to tweak your exit points. Heck, imagine the SEC loses a case against your favorite protocol. Or an overall bearish trend could hit the markets, making all your targets look like an absurd moon boy's fantasy. So have a strong game plan, but adjustments are key. Second tip, go all in. Going all in means doing thorough research on your own and then only investing in the number of coins that you can reasonably keep track of. Don't spread yourself too thin. So learn about the tokenomics and the protocol's future plans. Read the white paper and even potentially join a community discord. But if I were to give one warning, it's to pay attention to your sources so you can avoid an echo chamber. Avoid maxis and check for biases. If the name of the channel you watch is SafeMoon Lambo Club, well, they might be biased. And then figure out your bandwidth. Are you living at your parents or on disability with nothing but time on your hands? Well, you can follow and research many more coins than a doctor working 80 hours a week. So use your time wisely, but be realistic about how much time you actually have. But more important than any of that is to not lose interest. Don't get lulled out by sideways price action. Ironically, the point at which you should be doing the most buying is the point in which the markets are at their worst. So you enter while it's boring and then you can exit while it's soaring. Third and final tip, take profits, take profits. Did I mention take profits? Taking profits is the number one thing separating the winners from the losers in crypto. Most people will just hold on to their coins, afraid of missing out on possibly higher gains. That's normal. It's FOMO and we've all been there. This is why you need a plan for selling your coins. My favorite selling strategy is DCA out or dollar cost average. You sell gradually and don't try to sell them all at the very top because it's impossible to predict. But if I could give a warning is to be aware of how quickly crypto can move. This isn't the stock market or precious metals. Prices can go up quickly, but they can fall even faster. So you have to be careful. Which leads us to if a coin's price is suddenly tanking, don't buy more just because it's cheaper. It might keep going down for a very long time. We call these falling knives and never try to catch a falling knife. Don't give back all your profits getting swept up in a relief rally. By following these three steps, you're putting yourself in a position to become a millionaire in the upcoming bull run. You're not just hoping for financial freedom, you're actively creating that reality. Think about what you can gain from your hard work and keep your eyes on the prize. Your journey in crypto is a big deal, and you're in charge of writing your own success story. I'm DZ with Discover Crypto, and I'll see you at the top. Thank you.

A highlight from BTC Held By Institutional Products Hits ATH

"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Monday, November 13th, and today we are picking up right where we left off last week with the shift in bullish sentiment. Before we get into that, however, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find the link in the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. Hello, friends. Well, like I said, we are picking up right where we left off with the bullish sentiment in crypto markets continuing across the weekend. Ethereum cemented its gains from Thursday's announcement of a spot ETF application from BlackRock. Now, there was a 5 % pullback from Thursday's seven -month high of $2 ,130, but throughout the weekend, Ethereum traders defended the $2 ,000 price level and saw a slight price improvement into Sunday night. Ethereum ended the week up more than 8%, extending its streak to four consecutive weeks with gains of 5 % or more. Bitcoin traded sideways over the weekend, but that means it stuck close to the $37 ,000 level. What's more, the week began with excitement around Bitcoin and the possibility of preliminary ETF approvals coming soon. Now, last week, of course, had begun with excitement around Bitcoin and the possibility of preliminary ETF approvals coming soon. Toward the end of that week, that enthusiasm rotated into altcoins. Indeed, Bitcoin slightly underperformed the broader crypto market with a 5 .8 % weekly gain. But overall, with the 124 % year -to -date price move, Bitcoin has filled in most of the negative price action dating back to the collapse of Luna last May and is now trading at more than half of its all -time high. One other indicator of how things are changing is the stablecoin market cap. Stablecoin market cap as a percentage of overall crypto market cap has been steadily decreasing over the past month. At the beginning of October, stablecoins represented almost 10 % of the overall crypto market, but last week that figure contracted to around 7 .4%. Now, that's still a long way from getting below the 4 % stablecoin dominance levels which we saw at the euphoric highs of the last bull run, but the last month has been the longest continuing streak of decreasing stablecoin dominance throughout the crypto winter and levels are at their lowest point since May 2022. Now, if you're trying to make sense of what that would actually indicate, think about it this way. A lot of money in crypto doesn't actually ever leave the crypto markets. It simply moves between different assets based on what's performing and so, of course, when things are bad, when we are in the depths of a winter and there's not much opportunity to be had, people simply hang out in stablecoins. The percentage of the market cap that comes from stablecoins going down is one indicator that more money is moving back into the other parts of the market. Now, of course, there were lots of vibes on Twitter to match all of this action. Size Chad writes, the bull market is back, baby. Bitcoiner BitPain writes, how have we gone up 38 % in a month with no serious corrections? What absolute beast is devouring Bitcoin every dip? Now, someone who is trying to have a little bit of chill when it came to this was Chris Berdiske from Placeholder Ventures. He's been using the analogy of getting drunk and noted that while crypto Twitter appeared to be a few drinks in, he said that he wasn't going to question the uptrend until everyone appears five plus beers deep. He added, although signs of intoxication are appearing, when BlackRock's handing out booze, it's hard to know when the party will stop. Still, he said, for me, it doesn't matter. This isn't a big bash. And so I'm still not buying, not selling, just riding.

American Universities' Disturbing Connections to Nazi Germany

"Universities and colleges doing the same thing all over again. For instance chapter The Third Reich has a long history of atomizing Nazism. Harvard University and the Hitler Regime 1933 to 7 chapter 3 complicity and conflict Columbia University's response to fascism 1937 is very sympathetic to it. Throughout the decade German exchange students whom were Nazi party members and were likely operating as propaganda agents and other speakers were given mostly unchallenged platforms on university campuses. You see that now with the mass network in the islamo nazis. American universities therefore offer the German government a remarkable level of establishment legitimacy in the United States. Even after the violently anti -semitic nature of the regime had become clear. Just as Hitler's corporate friends had showed little reluctance doing business with the Third Reich his friends in academia maintained their own relationship with Hitler's regime. Both the Nazis and the US government were aware of the propaganda potential provided by American universities. Testifying before the DICE committee John C. Metcalfe argued that the German government had a particular interest in American students. He said the purpose of the exchange students on universities has long been to foster goodwill and peace among the nations resulting greater understanding. But this worthwhile aim has been neglected in the exchange of German students for American. Now American students are being indoctrinated with the aims of fascism in Germany both abroad and at home to the detriment of democratic institutions in America. Some of this rhetoric served as the intellectual precursor in the 1950s, they write, but John McCarthy, but they also say some of it, was legitimate. The Nazis did indeed benefit from a dedicated propaganda network within the American academic establishment. Around the country students and faculty alike increasingly became embroiled in unfolding international tensions as the 1930s progressed. Most often it was the vocally anti -Nazi professors, some of whom were themselves Jewish refugees from Nazi oppression who faced the brunt of administrative repression just as professors Jewish and Gentile professors who speak out now are silenced or threatened

All right, good morning to all of you Cafe Bitcoiners. It is Monday, November 13th, and you guys can probably hear my slack snapping off here. Let me mute that shit. Sorry about that. Monday, November 13th, 2023, and it is another awesome day. Looking forward to the week in Bitcoin. Once again, why are all these Bitcoiners so goddamn excited all the time? It's disgusting. What's wrong with you people? You know, I remember when you first started doing Spaces, Alex, and this is before I had extensive experience with Slack, and I could hear it going off all the time in the background. Every time we were having those Spaces discussions in the morning, I was just like, what in the hell are you picking up? My fault. My bad. Morning macro. Oh, sorry. How's it going, guys? I hope everybody had a good Veterans Day weekend, too, by the way. It was fantastic. I worked my ass off. That's all right, though. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good morning, Terrence. Bright and early. On a Monday at like 7 o 'clock in the morning. What's wrong with you people? Macro. Good morning, Peter. Good morning, Jacob. Shout -outs to Dr. Jeff, Joe Carlosari, in the audience. Obviously, we're throwing you guys invites, but you're welcome to just chill. Whatever. It's all good. So apparently, Bitcoin has taken a slight pause from its vertical acceleration and Bitcoiners are attacking each other once again. That didn't take long. Anyway, welcome to Cafe Bitcoin, episode 475. Shout -outs to our supporters on Fountain and Nosternes. By the way, when I say signal, I'm not trying to say it's just my signal. We're looking for the signal. Some people are like, eh, never let us on stage at Cafe Bitcoin. It's an opinion, all right? It's an opinion. It's an opinion. If I don't think your signal is that great, then maybe we might not let you on. I'm not sorry for that. Like we're here to provide signal. And yeah, it's a judgment call and yeah, you might think your signal is more important and that's fine. I'm not mad at that. I'm not even judging you. In fact, here's, Jacob and I were just talking about this earlier. I don't even disagree with you on many things. Some people are like, well, this issue is really important. You guys don't talk about it. It's like, it is really important. Totally agree with you, actually. What I don't agree with is complaining about stuff that you have no solution for, or if you're not building a solution for something. Like if you're building something and it's a solution, we will invite you on this stage and you can talk about it. But if all you're doing is whinging and complaining, like why are we going to waste everybody's time with that nonsense? Am I wrong? Am I out of line here? Serious question. No, you're not out of line and whinging is a good word. I think more people need to use it. Yeah, mewling. I love that word too, mewling, whinging, meh, meh, um, okay. Good morning, Mickey Koss. For today's show, we're going to talk about, apparently BlackRock is launching an Ethereum ETF, or they're applying to anyway. We're going to do a spot Bitcoin ETF approval update this week, maybe. And Joe Carlosari is welcome to come up here and give us his views on that. Otherwise we'll just read his tweets out loud. I got no shame with that. What else? Oh, ICBC, which is one of the largest banks in China, was apparently cyber ransomed last week. That's a thing. So maybe we'll talk about that a little bit. Here's an interesting little factoid. Every $6 ,313 move above $29 ,586 is a billion dollars for micro strategy. Wow. Well, indeed. But the naysayers are going to say every $3 ,360 move down is minus a billion dollars for micro strategy. I was just about to say, I could see the articles now as it drops from $100K to $95K, they'll be just, you know, slamming micro strategy. Meanwhile he's sitting there like up thousands of percent. It's completely absurd, but it'll continue. Just buy Berkshire Hathaway. It's better than Bitcoin. Anybody can buy it. Are you slamming Dear Point? No, I would never do that. Nate, you're so crystal clear this morning. You must be stationary and not driving anywhere. I'm using the updated desktop. They've improved it dramatically. And you aren't driving anywhere. That too. You can't raise your hand, but it is working pretty well. Okay. Question. Are you on Windows or Mac? I'm on Windows 10 or 11 and I forget what number it is. You can't raise your hand on Mac either. You can't raise your hand and can you do emojis? I can do a lot of emojis. A lot of emojis, wow. Like a thousand at a time, apparently. So are you retired now, Nate? For the most part, yeah. I love your story, man. For those of you who don't know, Nate's been hanging around, you know, he's been coming around Cafe Bitcoin for a couple of years now and back in the day, since it started and back in the day, back in them, Nate used to roll around as a, as a truck driver, if I understand correctly, saving his money, stacking sets, man, no, I, I, the reason I people double to check whatever wallet you plan on using and do never, ever, ever, ever enter your keys into a digital device that is connected to the internet. Day 7 St. Gertrude the Great Novena Discerning Hearts Catholic Podcasts

"A novena to St. Gertrude the Great. Day 7, For the Grace of a Greater Love of the Holy Eucharist. St. Gertrude embraced the Mass as a profound encounter with Christ's redemptive suffering. Let us reflect on this prayer that she composed. Through this Mass, I offer you in reparation, loving Father, all the sufferings of your son, from his first cry in the manger to his last breath on the cross. In my humble state, I praise and adore your mercy. Amen. Let us ask St. Gertrude to intercede for us as we seek to unite our own joys and sorrows with a Eucharistic sacrifice. May this act of communion inspire us to live out each day in accordance with God's loving plan for our lives. May she also intercede with this intention we bring to this novena. We now join with St. Gertrude the Great with the prayer she composed for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most precious blood of Thy divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen. St. Gertrude the Great pray for us.

A highlight from I Will Seek the Salvation of the Unconverted

"Good morning. I counted a privilege to be here today in front of you and pray this would be an encouragement and very practical for us all. If you wanna turn, open in your Bibles to Ephesians 6, familiar passage, Ephesians 6. For most of us, our greatest focus in all the world is ourselves. If we're honest, particularly in the Western world, we spend most of our time and most of our money on earth striving to be healthy and wealthy and increasing our collection of things that help us to become more comfortable here on earth. Our sin nature drives us not to serve others but to serve ourselves first. If I was to ask you this, what does your calendar show and what does your bank statement show is most important to you? God has put us on this earth for a specific purpose. It's to live for Him and to point others to Him. As Pastor Nate said, we're gonna be preaching through our church covenant if you've got one of these. We're on number four and five here. We encourage you to grab one off the table if you get a chance even after the service. Our covenant sets before us the biblical commitments I will bring up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord such as may be under my care and I will seek the salvation of the unconverted. God wants us to bring up our children in the gospel and also share the gospel with the lost. So in Ephesians six where you are, starting in verse one, familiar passage. Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. So we'll continue with the same template that Pastor Nate's been using. First, we wanna make sure that we realize that our church covenant, and if you're not familiar with this is, this is a covenant that members of Omaha Baptist covenant together to uphold as long as you're a member here but it's not just a man -made document that we picked out of the sky. We wanna show that it's biblical and it's root. So the biblical commitment that God wants to keep the gospel first at your home. In the passage here in Ephesians six, we see that raising children is broken down to a couple categories, discipline and instruction. If I was to ask you which one of you desires to be disciplined, who here has ever said, yay, I get to be disciplined today? I'm going to assume no one. My younger brother was the only one who was never disciplined in our home. Because he's sinless is what he would say, that's not the case. The desire not to be disciplined is nothing new though. We see this all the way back to the garden. It's rooted in our very sin nature. If this wasn't the case when Adam and Eve fell in sin and Adam was confronted, he wouldn't have immediately turned to blame his wife Eve and he certainly wouldn't have deflected to blame God for making Eve. So knowing that discipline is not generally enjoyable and it's not something we desire to have, is it negative and should be avoided at all costs? In Hebrews, in Hebrews 12, verse 11, we read a verse that would clear that up for us. For the moment, all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant. So we see the negative. But, as we continue, but later it yields a peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. So what does proper discipline yield? It yields a peaceful fruit of righteousness. Take notice as well the link between discipline and training. Right living is something that's trained into a person through the process of discipline. It's not something that they just organically have when they come into this world. They have quite the opposite. So here we can see how by continually pointing our children to Christ, and when we bring them under the authority of God's word, we're training them in a life through the lens of the gospel. If you look at Ephesians 6 again, we see that it addresses both parties at the home, both the children and the parents. For the sake of time, we won't tackle the children's side of things, but it does start with children. And children, I would just say this, that by honoring your parents, whether you see them as honor worthy or not, you are honoring the Lord who put them in that position of authority. Though it speaks to both children and parents, fathers specifically are pointed out in verse four. It says, fathers do not provoke your children to anger. Fathers are held responsible for leading the charge in the home, just as Adam was specifically addressed in Genesis 3. Though Eve was the first one to sin, God said, Adam, where are you? Fathers are called to discipline their children, but not in a way that causes anger and resentment. The purpose of discipline, and when God disciplines us, it needs to be restorative in nature and never done in anger. It's been said, and this stuck with me when I heard this, I thought, is this not true? It's been said that in a home, if you have all rules with no relationship, you end up with rebellion. But if you have a home that has all relationship with no rules, you end up creating resentment. A father's discipline needs to be carried out in the context of a loving relationship where you have a relationship, but also the clear expectation of what God's word calls us to do. If you find yourself disciplining your child as a hypocrite, doing something that, asking them to do something that you wouldn't do or not modeling it before them, you will provoke your children to anger. But it's not just discipline, and there's also, it speaks to us in Ephesians about the instruction also in home, so gospel instruction we wanna bring in home. I realize that many of you here don't have children, or maybe your children are now out of the home. It's important to think of this call in our covenant not limited only to the child -parent relationship. The exhortation is much broader than that. I think the word it uses here is such may be under my care. It could refer to our relationship for Christ with virtually any relationship that we have. Other people looking to us, whether to raise them physically or even in the spiritual sense. If you wanna turn with me to 2 Timothy 1 .5, I think we see a really interesting illustration of this, how it's played out in scripture. So 2 Timothy 1 .5, this is Paul speaking to Timothy, I'm reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother, Lois, and your mother Eunice, and I'm sure dwells in you as well. Timothy's father's not even in the picture, we're not sure, we're not told why, we don't know what happened to him, but his mother, pardon me, his grandmother, Lois, stepped into the gap and is played a part in Timothy being brought up in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord. The apostle Paul also played a huge part in training Timothy without a father in the picture. Both the books, 1 and 2 Timothy, are letters from Paul to this young pastor, training him in the way he should go, just as a parent would train a child. Paul shows his heart towards Timothy by referring to him as his true child in the faith. So whether you've got biological children or not, we're all called to provide gospel instruction to those that may be under our care. There is, however, special onus on parents bringing the gospel into their own home. You'll notice when we read Ephesians 6 that it's not, it's parent -child language used, it's not Sunday school teacher child used, or pastor child, or government child. It's parent -child. God's design is for a father and a mother to raise their own children and pointing them to the Lord as their primary responsibility, not a responsibility they pass off to somebody else. So if I was to ask these questions, are you modeling the gospel at home before your children? Actions speak louder than words. If I was to ask your children what they see in your home, what would they tell me? Do your children know the gospel? Ask them to explain the gospel to you and then check. Is it on point or is there things they're confused about? This is a great question to expose whether we understand what that gospel actually is. It's quite possible that you can be here thinking you know it and don't, or believing some kind of version of a false gospel. That's skewed. When somebody's sinned against in the home, does the gospel that saved you shape how you respond to that? Do our kids, when they sin against each other, does the gospel speak into that relationship? Does it speak into how we correct that behavior? Does the gospel come up regularly in your conversation at home? If the gospel is the lens that we wanna give our children to see the world, then it should be commonplace in our conversations. Let's meditate on those questions as we move on. God doesn't just want us to keep the gospel first at home. He wants us to keep the gospel first in all of our relationships. You can flip over to Matthew 28, very familiar passage, the Great Commission, Matthew 28, verse 16 is where we'll start. Now the 11 disciples went to Galilee to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when he saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus said to them, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I'm with you always to the end of the age. So here God clearly calls us to go make disciples. If you're a follower of Christ here today, I'm assuming that you agree that making disciples is a clear teaching of scripture and you agree that we should be doing it. The million dollar question is, are we doing it? We'll get to some of the reasons why we don't do it and the reasons that threaten us in a minute, but let's look at first what a disciple is. The Greek term for disciple in the New Testament is mathiteus, I'm no Greek scholar, but we're going with that, which basically means student or learner, but a disciple is also a follower, someone who adheres completely to the teaching of another, making them his rule of life and conduct. So if you're a disciple of Christ or if you're to make disciples of Christ, a Christ follower is someone who adheres completely to the teachings of Christ, making Christ his rule of life and conduct. So how do we make disciples? Well, in verse 19, we read that we're commanded to go. We're not told that potential disciples will come and find us and seek us out. No, the disciples were charged with the command to go. Don't just sit around and wait for this to happen. And if you're familiar with the start of the church in the book of Acts, this wasn't something that they were super keen on doing until they were more or less forced to do that through persecution. I was thinking of an illustration of this, and I was meeting with a young man once who was of the age that he'd finished school and was in the workforce now, and he explained to me that he was desiring to find a godly woman, which was a noble desire, so I said, well, how's that going? And it wasn't going well, so I said, well, what are you doing to make this happen? Nothing, just crickets. So I said, well, you realize the chances of a godly woman coming to your house, breaking in, coming into the basement, interrupting your video games, tapping you on the shoulder and introducing yourself, it's not real high. So maybe it would be smart if you went, go, and did something, took some initiative to find a godly woman, and it's the same with evangelism. There is times where the Lord and his providence will literally draw people in our lap, but generally speaking, it has to be something that we're willing to do, to go, a desire that's gotta come from within. Second, we don't need to go, we need to make sure that we're pointing people to Christ and not to ourselves. It seems obvious that this is the case, but it's something that we often miss the mark on. We might feel the pressure of closing the deal, so to speak, as if you're a salesman on a sales call and you gotta close the deal and make that sale. But if we're to make disciples of Christ, we just need to show them Christ. So how do we do that? If you wanna turn, Romans 10, we'll be going through this a little bit here, 10, 17, where's where we'll start, and then we'll step back a bit. Romans 10, 17 says, so faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ. So if somebody's to come to saving faith, they need to first hear the word. Not my words, not the words of Greg and whatever clever thing I can say, but God's word. So that's 10, 17, but if we were to back up a few verses, let's look at the context of what Paul's saying here. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, you notice the Great Commission language here, that going to all nations, both Jew and Greek, everybody. There's no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How will they call on him and who they have not believed, and how are they to believe in him and who they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news? But they have not all obeyed the gospel, for Isaiah said, Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us? So faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ. So we need to point them to the only thing that can pierce their heart, the heart of any sinner, it's God's word, and the only thing that pierces that is the sword of the spirit, and this verse has already come up in previous messages, but Hebrews 4 .12, for the word of God is living and active, sharper than any tumbled sword, piercing through the division of soul and spirit and joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Give the people the word of God and let God's word do the work. But God doesn't just say, go make disciples, he says to teach the disciples. So if the Lord in his mercy does open the eyes of somebody that we're evangelizing, even if that's our own children or somebody outside of the home, in so many ways the work is just getting started. This idea of teaching is an ongoing interaction, right? In verse 20 it reads, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. This is only possible through ongoing fellowship, doing life together. Remember I said, if it's not like the salesman who's closing the deal and then onto the next deal, if that's not what it is, think of it more like a journeyman -apprenticeship relationship, a relationship where you're bringing somebody along, somebody new in the faith, to come and do life together. You're modeling before them what it is to live for Christ and the way that they should go. If you're doing this properly, you should be able to do as Paul did, or that's what Paul was doing with Timothy, and should be able to say, be imitators of me as I imitate Christ. So it's a biblical commitment, but if we move on, it's also a very threatened commitment. So we see this commitment threatened in our own home as far as raising our children in the Lord. We can all be very guilty of just assuming that our children will just organically come to Christ sort of by living with us, maybe coming to church, maybe you generally just hang around most of the time with Christian people, and you might figure that that's good enough. If you want to turn with me to the Old Testament, passage you're probably less familiar with, judges, judges two, we'll see a sobering account here of why this isn't the case. So the Jewish people have, God's people have just come into the land, and the land that he miraculously gave them, the promised land, and a generation, the first generation is coming to an end. We pick up in verse seven. And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had sent all the great work the Lord had done for Israel. And Joshua, the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at age 110. Now if we jump down to verse 10, we read these sobering words. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord, or the work that he had done for Israel. And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals. So we see in one generation, the people of God, God's chosen people, went from following the Lord, and seeing him work in unbelievably miraculous ways, and bringing them into the promised land, to not even knowing the Lord, or even recognizing the work that he had done. I know when I read that, I was thinking, how is that even possible? There's probably lots of reasons why this is possible, and this speaks to our own home. There's probably lots of reasons why our kids can be in the same place that God's people were there. Let's just look at a couple of them. First off, I thought, in my own life, what are the things, it's just, first thing I thought of, it's just easier not to. Parenting is hard work. Life is busy, and parenting is hard. Being intentional in your parenting, and takes discipline of yourself. None of us like to discipline ourselves. It's sometimes easier to discipline somebody else. If you're like me, and you've worked all day, and you come home, the last thing you probably feel like doing is having intentional gospel conversations with your wife and kids. That's probably at war with your own sloth. It's just easier maybe to turn your brain off, and turn the TV on. I think we can feel like, maybe like the Israelites did when they got into the land finally, that the worst is behind us. God's been good, let's get comfortable, and mail it in. But when we do that, we fail to notice that if we're not intentionally teaching our kids, don't be deceived, somebody else is. Somebody else is gonna fill that gap. Joshua obviously felt, that generation obviously assumed that their children would just learn through osmosis, being around them, that they would learn what it was to follow God. And they did learn through osmosis, the scripture tells us that, but they didn't learn from mom and dad, they learned from the pagans around them. They learned to worship Baal instead of the living God. I think another threat we have to this, and again I'm speaking to myself in this, is we're just too distracted. We live in a world that's never had more distractions. This smartphone alone has the ability to take our complete attention at any time. Funny cat videos, need I say anymore? My wife and I often talk about just how different it is as we're looking to raise kids now when we grew up. And I know there's people here with grayer hair than me. But we had no TV or TV with three channels that were all fuzzy. No stores were open on Sunday. The stores that were open closed at five o 'clock. And I could go on and now my smartphone alone allows me to watch more videos than I could watch in an entire lifetime even if I wanted to. I can buy whatever I want from all over the globe and have it delivered to my door in a day or less. The battle for our focus on being intentional in anything in the Lord, especially parenting, is real and it's not going away. And the next generation is gonna face it in a way even more difficult than ours. So I think it's also important though too that some of the distractions that we have as far as being intentional in parenting, and keep in mind when I'm talking parenting, again, this could be discipling somebody that's not your own child. That some of the stuff that's at war with us can be good things. We can be distracted doing all kinds of good things for or people even pouring into other people at the very neglect of our own children and our wives. I think the log spec principle in Matthew 7 where we're to make sure to get the giant two by four out of our eyes before we remove the speck out of our brother's eyes to make sure that we're pouring into our family at home. If you're a father in particular, that's your primary goal to be pouring in at home and not busy fixing everybody else's problem and neglecting your own children. I think you see this, unfortunately, in a lot of pastors' kids who resent the church, I think because dad was never around, busy helping everybody. So it's something that's real, not just for pastors. Another thing that causes real war in this area is parents not being on the same page. And this is a particularly hard one and I'm gonna be sensitive here because I know there's lots of people here that have unsafe spouses. But you can have, we can even be both safe parents at home and we can be just biblically unaware or maybe unconvinced that the scripture has much direction in this area. If this is you and you're not certain what the scripture says about parenting, there's more than just Ephesians that are brought up here. We're actually currently in table time, so after the service, we're doing a parenting class and this is our third time through it. It's not our own class that I dreamt up, don't worry. It's a paltra parenting class, but it's speaking specifically about the heart of the situation. So the heart of the child, which is desperately lost, can only be saved through the gospel. And it's a 10 -week video series and it's been fantastic in growing my own understanding of what it is to be a parent. And my wife and I talk about how it would have been great to have watched this 17 years ago. But I would encourage you to do that. If you're a saved couple here, put the time in and grow in your understanding of this. The Bible's not silent in the errand of parenting, so treat it as such and pour some time into it. But it's possible too that there's friction at home because your spouse isn't a believer and I know that's a lot of people here. And maybe you deeply wanna raise your kids in the gospel, but your spouse is pushing against that. And there's obviously no quick fix, easy answer here. Your first priority is to pray for the salvation of your lost spouse. That's the heart of the issue right there now. And I know there's many of you that have been doing that for years. So continue to do that, but I think what can be more difficult even than praying for a lost person for years is particularly in a home is living in a way that points them to Christ on a daily basis. So to model that devotion to Christ in a kind way before them, 1 Peter 3, this is speaking of wives, but 1 Peter 3, 1, calls on believing wives to live in a godly fashion so that their lost husbands might be won without a word by the conduct of their wives.

Mayor judy car was the first female mayor of alliance and is remembered for improving the city and the police force. She's now deceased. After the ten month audit auditors discovered that there was a much larger issue than just five thousand dollars more than fourteen thousand dollars worth of money and drugs including cocaine and marijuana were missing from the evidence room they also discovered that there were at least six shotguns missing from the department. And now if this sounds familiar there was a recent documentary about a different case in new york that nearly mirrors auditors found an alliance but on a much larger scale documentary is called the seven five about former and white. "Double murder. When you know most of the countries i am guilty. Scott peterson scott peterson. When he went fishing on the morning of christmas eve day. He says his wife was home. She was alive and he left. And casey anthony casey anthony. There's no one else george. Anthony already testified and he denied it. So i do believe that we will see her on the stand today. She researches and produces content for an nbc production company. Beth came across. David's case a few years ago when dwayne poelman a local reporter and tv news anchor and ohio reached out to a friend of hers. I've mentioned wayne's name a couple of times and played a few of his clips about david's case. And so my friend said look you know my my ohio friend reporter says there's a story here this you didn't do it he's locked up and And and the the the side story which we kind of wanted to get into it as the focus was a woman who would marry david sue. Glass a she's a lovely person I got to know her visited with her. We still are in contact. And that's how. I met south through sue david's wife. Of course they'd known of and seen beth for years court. tv and other shows. She's appeared on the legal analyst. So speaking with her for this was pretty cool. She spent a ton of time looking into david's case with her friend for a potential tv show. I visited david and joe welts and two different prisons. And then i had extensive phone calls with both of them That were recorded as marlin. And of course. I talked to a number of other people who were peripheral involved. Knew something we did go to the courthouse. We did get a look at all the evidence That pulled out the evidence for us. Wait we photographed. You know all the evidence in the case. Unfortunately the tv show fell through. That happens a lot with true crime shows. That had already done so much legwork. She's a wealth of information. On the case plus i was interested to hear her perspective as a former prosecutor. I read a lot of transcripts. And i was reading the trial. Transcript and you got to understand that you have my background as a You know as a prosecutor police prosecutors are not in the business of arresting. Try innocent people. Yes it happens but the vast majority of people who go through the system. they're guilty. Okay so beth said that. While she is a huge proponent of the innocence networks she still approached this case with the assumption that the prosecutors got it right. Beth went through the entire trial and flagged a lot of the same things. I did as concerning things. That just didn't make sense to her. Like joe's confession and how he led the police to the pants. He was allegedly d- wearing that night but the most crucial piece jumped out at me was what came out post conviction. And that's when the defense got one of the police reports that was prepared. Close time to the murder that was based on notes. Taken by cop at the scene. Police note that was taken about what george hale saw. The morning yvonne's body was discovered. George was only found out about in david's appeal process when david requested the discovery which is odd because the state was already required to turn over all relevant discovery before the trial and yet it wasn't until after the conviction that anyone got the report mentioning what george hale said. He saw the fact that it was never turned over to. The defense is shocking. At that time david appeal team realized that this was a bombshell. not only. was it a breach violation. That could get them back in court but george hale could potentially identify the killer and they knew they had to speak with him as torture views. Mike durkan Like talk to trouble or anything a piece got. Hey buddy. he's a miniature talk all right. I'm coming cold. Durkin explains to george why he was there. After this case was all done that family still persona at the police report where they mentioned to talk to you. We never had your name. We never i can show you never three never knew we never knew existed until got a copy of this police report now. The rest of the interview was what you already heard held scrubbing. What and who he saw. The morning of on body was found and then he said the police actually tried to hypnotize him in hopes of jogging his memory to better describe the mystery man he saw i coastal pets by that area. Yeah alleged doctors have over back there. Remember site hypnotist. I mean missouri. Yes i was a actually try to. Yeah they were hooked up style and then durkin interrupted. Sure they were trying to the woman. You here is georgia's girlfriend like to me. I've given polygraphs think people polygraph hooked pinger gags. I had to ask everything. They were hooked me up. Thanks and i said this word. Take this stuff off a little machine. Bill computer laptop. Faith older to deal with your latest lives. Advertise detected trying to. George goes on to describe what happened in the world. Just told me sit back and just relax. Just answer all the questions. As i get go work. L. wants to do tops in there with you. Yeah they were both in. They get back. Because i would do they. They get 'cause. I wouldn't relax. We can't relax because of that. So george stopped cooperating as much. He thought he couldn't successfully be hypnotized. Did they ever get mad about. I would sit there and do it. Just give it a try. I didn't give to try to work on..

"After hearing about ron experience in a wiki as a counselor in care bell we went to visit some of the old sights to remember what they were and what they had now become. So we are. We're at marina right now. Well look a lot different for stardom. I mean there were surely nothing much here except for the docs and in fact the time there were would docs not this concrete. My stuff you see now. That's the hotel. The boys built this building. The boys built voting were standing under the voice built. We were under the impression at the time that we were building a facility. That was can be used for the program. As far as i know it never was once it was finished. We didn't come back here anymore. We next went to see what had become. The south campus formerly referred to as landside at the saint. James bake off course formally in a wiki walking around looking at some of the buildings and what they are now but it looks like they took the whole building down and built on the same foundation. Okay this is the yeah the lodge. This was the administration area desist. Courtyards is the. Yeah this is what we call a quad because of the four buildings i can t can't believe will walk right past this. This looks just like the pictures of the quad with the courtyard and in the middle of the four buildings every up see that tree rate there. The big one yeah. My group planet boost sampling. That says what kind of trees sycamore. Well this was administration here. These buildings were were were. The social workers were housed. And was this whole grass. Was this center here to this was here. Yeah these bricks. The boys laid these bricks. That was a fountain while at the old. Yeah this looks just like. I can't believe i walked past. It didn't see this what was formerly. The quad was still in practically the same setup at saint james. Four small buildings built on what was once the four post of the radar tower from camp gordon johnston. I couldn't believe that. I had been walking around trying to find some remnants of the old wakey and it was right under my nose the whole time. The same buildings built by former patients of anna. Wakey are still in use by this now. Golf course and resort one aspect of the caravelle. Campus i still had not been able to track down. Was the original motel referred to as bayside. Ron said he could take me down there to show me what was left of it today. We drove down to a small beach off the side of the highway. A light rain coming down and meet frantically trying to protect my microphone and recorder. This is where basic there were two strips here long here about four units on each side. Four rooms on each side of the courtyard the middle. And like i say you've been a little tiny hotel and and then the kids one group on one side one group on the other. The captain woods out that way he he just I guess just to the right of that house. There was a trail that went back through the woods. You can tell how far it was to campus here so it was a good twenty minute. Walk to get from here over to main campus so these kids are wake up here. Six o'clock in the morning get up and get ready. Walk that trail to get breakfast. Two houses built again with the with the kids labor. The first house here was dr pertts house or he would stay when he was down here and and then other house was the care. Bill campus directors house. Now they've been sold and there's just yeah families living on for walking off the side of us highway ninety eight by you hear cars going by and this just looks like this deserted each year really. All that was left of the once motel was broken up slabs of concrete scattered across the sandy beach. Hurricane had left it in ruins a few years back across the street were to mexican style. Built houses painted that all familiar in a wiki base as it was known. Now you can see the hurricane kind of messed up to see their of. That's what's left of it. You can see you for the or you had the picture of the boys putting down sandbags along there. I went to see if ron's wife and her friend had any memories of this place really can't memories. What happened here stays nothing. Yeah we used to go flounder. in wiki. bayside was now just concrete chunks of the ones motel and broken oyster shells. Much like the rest of my trip to care about. All i could find was pieces of what was the wakey south campus fragments of stories from those who experienced it or who knew family or others. Involved the site of the original motel. Which i'd been looking for all week. I must've driven past a dozen times. A piece of caravels history sitting right in plain sight yet. Still so hard to find in a wake. You would continue to expand pass. Florida moorland was being acquired in mexico and even canada The next step in petters master plan to.

"That and it was. It was the funniest thing. Four o'clock in the morning. We were all wide awake trying to look like we weren't wideawake just praying that george didn't decide to let loose and he didn't and that's how we brought him in. The country injury says that the contraband brought back into the united states from these mexico. Trips was not just limited to goods and even animals. There was like a couple on one of those mexico trips. I it was nineteen. Eighty four brought back like two kids from mexico and how thought they were going into the anna wakey program or whatever happened in those kids that they vanished over abused readiness. For what i have. I never ever saw men. Mexico kids kids. They were put in the greek. That doc had personally and They were brought back to america. And taking the douglasville georgia. I never saw those. Here's carl more. We brought people back from mexico which was a pretty big deal. Thank some of them. Worked at anti-iraqi relationships with people down there and know people expected to see us every year. And you know would always take stuff down there for them. You know there's a lot of gift. Exchanging dow was another one of the things that and then he was good at. He did this with everybody. That was important and we would always buy jewelry down there. Yeah that would end up in the hands of various people as gifts. Carl says that the possibility of in awake you. Moving into mexico with another campus was something that was not out of the question. At the time. I think we could have had a mexico campus. We ended up buying a house down there. So i think the more was going to happen. There are there was an opportunity. And and i didn't distinguish that from from any other thing that you would do with an wakey funds you know. It was all the the same thing to me. One aspect of the mexico trip that was well known. Among the patients at anna. Wakey was an annual trip to a brothel as melinda doyle had mentioned in pachuca. They had a a strip on a hillside. That was their red light district. I guess you call it and on several trips. Anyway it i mean it was a regular thing. One of the big nutso secrets secrets. Was that you know that was part of the mexico trip but we would get everybody together and say you know kind of like a tonight's the night kind of thing and header would give a speech you know trying to coach everybody how to get through this in a way but ultimately it might have been It might have been something that could have been a positive thing for some people for some people it's terrifying and the reality of it was. It's a really really really for way to introduce somebody to that. Experience former patient. Chris mcknight remembers one such outing during his trip to mexico with dana wakey years. They took us to a house of Repu house prostitution. Whatever you wanna call it. This story is still kind of a tough one to tell so. I lost my virginity in pachuca mexican whorehouse. I was so scared. This's summer eighty-three. It's it's an now in these girls aside. I don't know what to do. I'm i'm a virgin scared shitless. I in alex. Probably hey congress you gotta go an incredible amounts of peer pressure crony gotta go in there and have sex with a woman and is just is just such a surreal at frightening situation. I really scared. Not cossacks me was a lot of baggage. Chris was another victim of sexual abuse at an waking by the hands of a counselor. Chris says that during this trip to a brothel his abuser had just been with the same woman. He was being pressured to have sex with. So i i had my first sexual experience with a woman. It's like my mind was so fucked up about sex at that moment in my life that the only safe woman i could have sex with the woman who had just had sex with the guy who had molested me. Here's before there's a lot of back it's right there. A lot of pain to girls like grandma had. He's trying to push his someone else's like push through the door. And i wanted to scream. I wanna cry. I wanted to run away. I was afraid scare. I was shaking. It was consensual. It was legal in mexico. No laws were broken. That there was a lot of heavy shit going on right there and i remember getting out and running down and throwing up and i didn't eat for a couple of days still have issues that situation. It's hard to make heads tails of it. It's really messed up situation. A teenager shouldn't have been put in. Here's former counsel. Ron doyle again. He says after seeing the effect the mexico trip had on one of his patients under his supervision he saw red flag i think probably the the real catalyst rhythm admire resignation was ahead of boy. Who is brought into on my group's after returning from a trip to mexico he had been considered a troublemaker and his previous group. But after this trip to mexico he just want off the deep end and so they put him in my group's thinking that that might might help. And i had been effective in helping kids get past problems like that so i worked with this kid and and he began to open up to me and tell me about some of the things that happened to him on that mexico trip which were just inexcusable. Physical abuse that our kids were used to help him because he wasn't cooperating. This was the apache around basically. They put him in a circle of other kids and would ask him questions and if he didn't answer properly railway basically beat him to a pole. Carl says that these so-called apache roundups a racially insensitive term to say the least or supposed to be another part of petters therapy one that he was told to lead. There probably a handful of times where i was actually physically involved with anybody. You know one of the things that that Header would talk about where the apache round up and we went through a couple of those. And that's where the group confronts and individual and ideas to be physical about. Ron says that after hearing about the mexico trim. He decided try to do something to help the situation and make known the atrocities he had heard about well of course stories about the trickster prostitutes and that kind of stuff so at that point i realized that there was a really ugly underbelly. They thought it was a wonderful program. That did a lot of good things for kids but also at ruining kids like this and so knowing dr powder was the one who was arranging all that stuff. I had no trust in him whatsoever. I wasn't sure what to do. So i wrote a letter to the board of directors thinking and these are community. People who don't really know what's going on here and they need to know so. I wrote a letter to the board of directors outlining my concerns and i was very careful not to say things that i couldn't back up but but just bringing attention to some things that i was concerned about. I assume that that letter had gone to the board and shortly thereafter..

But they would always enforcement so they said well if you turn eighteen anyone elite you gotta do five days and that place that we discussed earlier in this conversation and i said whatever i'll be days and then i'm leaving and so i'm doing the five days and i'm in there for like about a day in pedder comes back dr petr. He comes back and says you know well. Nba or andrew. I didn't want to leave. You know once you finish the program and enjoy your time. Here i You know we'd do these mexico trips. Once a year. I was planning on taking. This would have been an april and so he said i wanted you to go to mexico with us. This on this mex-mexico trip in nineteen eighty three. Which would have been the summer of eighty three and i I'm like well. And i'd heard rumors about what i on on this mexico trips and i thought about it for a few minutes or with him sitting there with me and he had his chauffeur there with a guy named carl. More and We talks. Were little bit longer. And then i said all right we'll We'll go to mexico with ya and We'll that'll be okay. I'll go and pedder said good. And so he said walking out of. Here's carl more. And what he remembers about the mexico trips. Every group had a chance to take a trip every year. It actually raise money to take their trips. be planned. We did canoe trips ski trips. Big trip to get to go on was the mexico trip would take three groups down to mexico for almost three months. Seems like we're probably somewhere between ten twelve weeks. Something like that we would. We would cover the entire country of mexico most of the time. It was a big deal for the kids to get selected to do that. It was a pretty amazing trip. Traveling like that is just amazing way. we would. We took the vans and trailers and we would camp out of the trailers tent camp but we kept our food clothes and stuff in the trailers. we leave atlanta. Get to stop it. Bourbon street go through urban street. Give back on the road. Camp probably somewhere. In the wheezy. Hannah are texas crossed the border and brownsville texas going into mexico it was just just amazing way to to see that part of the united states but then we cross in mexico was like a magical thing. We would drive down through the who's always stop at a place called del salto falls. Which was i think it was kind. Like a honeymoon resort for people in mexico but it was thatched huts and it's just amazing waterfall with the river and is bluewater. That was just it was like something out of a magical and we would drive. Through the thomas and charlie mountains which were like nothing any of us had ever seen people farm the sides of these mountains and it was just spectacular greenery and and terrifying roads through mountains in our destination was typically we would go down to central mexico. Pachuca in the state dial. It was kind of a small miracle that we're able to do that without a major if you told me right now to to put together a group of thirty six kids and six or eight staff members and take them down to mexico for eight to twelve weeks. I'd say you gotta be kidding but we did stuff like that s account of a wonderful things about it and there are questionable in and Terrible things about it former patient andrew. None says the petters connections had even reached the town of pachuco mexico. Main place for petr light ago and mexico is a town called pachuca which was near. You know about about an hour away from mexico city and i was amazed at the kind of connections and stuff that he had in. This little town called pachuca but there would be parties and you know. Could you know that would be held at private residences for example inside this you know town of pachuca on were could tell these people. Were you know upper middle class. I guess so to speak. And you know. A lot of guests would be exchanged between patter and these These mexican upper class families. I mean these mexican upper class families had money. I mean i could tell that nice houses and stuff like that. At one point in time. I know pedder was given like some kind of antique pistol and as a sign of friendship and giving them like brand new. Tv's that we you know 'cause we would pull these trailers to mexico and leave it at least tv's married in the bottom and you he's try to and stuff um you know it was pretty crazy style. Another side note about mexico. This is also where the of george the donkey began. I remember what year it was but yeah we were driving through. I think we're on a dirt road somewhere in the mountains of mexico and this guy had had george with them and he was he was probably just wing and we stopped and decided it would be a good idea to have so we bought him from the guy five hundred pesos which was back then probably less than five dollars. He traveled around mexico with us all kinds of wildlife in mexico and stuff for sale people. Driving back to the border would go through all kinds of animals for sale and some of the kids would've bought like guavas and things like that for pets so we got the bright idea that we could bring george back into the us with us so we've made a space in the trailer and put him in one of the trailers. We crossed the border at about four o'clock in the morning and know he could bray he can make some noise feed started doing.

"After hearing marks heartbreaking story. I found i kept hearing the same name of the counselor who for took in his abuse. Jim phillips missile fill was a big man. It was a big guy. He was probably. I'm gonna say three hundred pounds if you didn't know him you. He would have a kind heart he would put himself like. It'd be wanna help you know we're way he would. It was a church going guy. Her claim to be funny how that works. He also was involved with the sheriff's department down in caravelle florida. Which is where i know. Cariballo police department at the time in the eighties was dirty shit to you. Can't tell me they didn't know about this. This is david wacker. He was a patient at an wiki south. In carabello mr phillips the intimidation purpose. He was the intimidation guy he come. I remember when the boys had done something or get in a fight and next time i saw him him. Visit mr phillips more bruises and black is and shaking than i've ever seen on another human being in my life before you do not mess with that man. This man was so strong. No lie has seen this man. Lift the back of a greyhound bus to change a tire. You did not argue with this man. If you argue with him on his wrong side he would put you through a concrete wall in a heartbeat. And you wouldn't know what hit you. David was a victim of the sexual abuse taking place on the care bell campus. He claims that there may have been some type of exchange in return for access to the boys taking place this is how recalls the night his abuser took him to what he believed was an auctioning off of the boys woke up. I actually felt him. Get off the bed. I thought he was going out to take a piss. Then when say god. I mean of course what here. We go again instead domain. Come with him. So i said okay i get up my shoes on followed him out the door next thing i know. I know this will will cross over the week. But some reason wasn't of the bridge's of somewhere else. We were able to cross over time. We end up the tool shed that we had there was like another door the back but it wasn't visible to either slide. Move something out. The way he opened the door to many come in i came in it was behind the tool. Shed a remember him sliding door off to the right. Like you would screen door glass door then but it was glasses would it didn't follow them in there and it opened up to the size of a master bedroom chairs to see the sofa. Stuff like that. And then i turned around to face wall. I was listening to voices. But i recognize voices. A new. mr brown was in there. I knew mr phillips fennell. The one escort me. They're debate back and forth others. What they who. Which which i. I'm assuming which child they won't who they want. What they wanna do is like i said at that time. I'm facing a wall. i'm not actually. I'm trying to remember trying to see who's beside me to my left and my right hear is bags and please don't the sounds they haunt you to that. Just sticks patches. That sam was facing the law. There's carpet on the wall. And i was taking what i did. I tried to zone out. You try to block everything when you're that young you facing guys twice your size. You don't argue you. Don't ask questions you just this house. Probably their baby fifteen twenty. Maybe even thirty minutes then. Mr fennell walks me up and then we'll get back to the cabin and i went back in my bed face. The wall hold sheets. Only as tight as i fuck just if to forget but you never do due to some luck while in care. Bell was finally able to connect with someone who worked at the a wakey south campus name. Is ron doyle. Our work in the mental health center in tallahassee and one of the psychiatrists. They're also worked down here and suggested to me that this. When i was finishing up my master's degree that this would be a good place for me to work and so i came down and interviewed and was hired as a counselor. This is a nineteen eighty. Ron came to visit me at the moorings hotel which he helped build with the patients. It was a mixed bag. I really love workable once. I mean these were kids. Who needed a lot of help and and it was an opportunity for me to learn and practice my counseling schools but there were a lot of things that were difficult. I work two hundred thirty hour. Workweek basically had a day and a half off a week the rest of the time i was on duty. I'll live with the boys and cabins and it was intensive work. I asked ron if he thought it was normal for the boys to be working on buildings such as the hotel we were currently in at the time idea. Guess because the labor that they were doing was teaching them skills. It was providing structures that they were actually using and benefiting from except for this year at the marines which was a different thing but with the time. We didn't know that we thought we were building it for their use and the motel part would be used for parents to stay when they came to visit. Campus used to that to some degree. But i think from most part of it was used for as for profit motel. I think at this point and his employees and mine. At that time the sexual abuse was happening more away from campus in mexico. this is melinda. ron's wife she's originally from care bell and ended up working there when she met ron. She and her friend came along with ron to talk to me about n. Wakey south. She says the lewes pedder had begun taking boys from anna wakey to mexico for a yearly trip where they would be an even less watchful eye. Then there would be stateside. I think that he figured out people were onto him and so there came a chosen group. And i did that in. Air quotes to accompanying them to mexico. It was supposed to be this big privileged trip every year every summer. Dr pepper would lead a group on a trip to mexico. It's summer trips. Were a big thing in the program. You know that they would be considered as a reward for the kids doing well and earning opportunities and make progress and so groups would plan like a river trip or something but this mexico trip was a big thing and the kids who went on it. Were hand selected. Dr peter i was invited to go dr. Peter asked me personally to go on the trip. And i didn't really want to go at heard enough things about it to make me leery of it and so i told dr better I don't feel like i can go. Because i need to be here to help my groups. He wasn't used people telling him know that worked for him so that could be on his kinda bad list. I heard things about kids being physically abused. I heard things about kids being taken to brothels to help them become a man injury. None was a former patient of anna. Wakey who was asked to attend the annual mexico trip. He said dr. Peter reached out to him personally about attending right before he was about to reach his termination. What in awake he would call. When you had completed your time of the facility and were ready.

In fact i'm gonna hit you with the three core pieces that you have in your strategy or it's actually work. Most of this stuff for me is basic for them to like. Oh my god leaders leadership development. Why would we eat bat yours wa for the stars from the in constant change mechanism. Why would we need. Here's why because change is constant. Most people don't know how to deal with recalibration. What is that what we need. Because we are going to act the consciously recalibrate ourselves because we got some old programming bernard spoke about an individual now wanting to someone else's life in jeopardy because they scare but they weren't born scared. They were taught to be scared. They were taught about their bias. They were taught about racism. They were taught about those things just like. They were taught about their privileges. This thing slings way sweating chatting running so many you know things like this. What about that in. Finally it came right back down to the core of unconscious bias. Why that's so important because you can't see your diverse of you can't see your company is not inclusive you can't see equity is needed for mars underutilized in marginal communities. How could we ever truly have a conversation about james. The acknowledgment is the first step in an innovation perspective. Bat was what i needed in. I normally don't bathroom business. Ideas against other people is always been all hold onto. This almost takes stealing right now. Here i am sharing with you. Because i know i understand that is not about the cup. Is the back the juice and i know that the cut can come in so many different forms in different flavors and different colors. But if it ain't got the jews individuals aren't gonna hold onto that cover that cut can't hold the jews what we hold on soon. I know the modules comes from my juice from the unlimited supply in the well that will never run dry in the well that you can go to time and time and time again the well that you can drink out of Inevitably thirsty again. So because i know when my counselor had to remove the restrictions last night did by removing a restriction was going to look at some one point five to two point two million dollar homes because in my mind i felt like i could never so why even go. I came here with the three series money. So i even look at the set off. The savage is gonna piss me off right. Why look at your feet will never go your mind as never been if you don't allow yourself into those spaces you've never give your you never give him. The opportunity showed how house never been out. That's not you've been listening to the g. Men podcast like review and share this episode. If something you heard challenged you to grow and position you to lead..

That's what i wanna talk about like the brain ship like like it isn't upset analogy but only for a little while. I mean look at the moscow. That looked like a four year old kid at school. sorry. I don't mean to offend any of the tesla design is but. I think that's what's going to happen. You go please. No money sponsors. I forget to the point because the sponsoring us. We're just gonna shut down the podcast anyway. See i just want to say. I think i want to hear what you guys think about this. But i think what's going to happen with future technologies with some of them. Were probably don't even know what they're going to be. Because i haven't been invented to develop yet as the maybe the only going to be available to the elites into to conform but then eventually everything has worked toilets used to be a thing that only like ten dudes in the city had right. But i think what's happened is the duration between the stop point and the point where it's Into common consumption has gone shorter over ten because it has to especially in modern capitalist society yukon. People need to buy your product. Otherwise you're product means nothing if you're unsettling commencement people exactly absolutely so you can't really have. That situation happened the way it used to. Because there's no for stage to the thing they do now the cells things. Here's the new model. Here's the model this color. Here's the model. That has the specific feature. It's not really you know. Oh only a few people can buy this thing. No it's if you want the special while that no one else has because you're weird collector like someone. We know that. I think is crazy that you have to cash up more money. Yeah absolutely absolutely agreement. It's just it's very sad inside like the way technology advances. These days is just elliott. I mentioned the starts. I remember the very first mobile phone. My parents had this huge giant antenna looking thing which identity. If someone came up came up module you can take it out and your smack him over the head and that's pretty much than done to now having this slaughter to now having this little to now having this little kind of computer lan. We just seeing a jump out of the page. All that horrific love crafting kind of off is even even especially junji. Ito does this. He has a trip to how you read his pace where he will leave a page at the moment of highest tension in is when you have to flip over yes and that is something you literally don't get or like physical version the way he spaces them the way your is supposed to follow the page. It's masterful. I do agree that it's like one of the few like art forms meet forms of media. Were can't get the same effect from digital going to sorry when it comes to graphic novels Comic books. I have to agree with both of you I wouldn't mind reading on a digital device. But i just can't stand that. Sometimes i prefer the physical. I mean they. All work is way better. It's just the experience of greeting comic book in physical form is much better and it's just that i probably can't afford as much as i can anything else so but one of my friends before. He moved out of london. He very generously gave me like two hundred copies of comics and i was like dude. This generous donation of other received. What are you sure. I call it. You know it's easy for me not to have to take them with me so that was great so if once i can have one second more of an income upwardly bible books for the time being the few that i have. I'm very content with and you also mentioned the idea of carrying back in carrying back text. Which you can't find physically you know stuff in libraries. Sent house has massive archive. Which obviously you can't take it out of you have to just order as you have to sit there and you have to use it because you can't take it out and i find that personally fascinating you know someone who's done history of absolutely obsessed with like old books and stuff which you can't find anymore like only one addition of joe. You mentioned your copy of distress key. Right it's something which can be found anywhere again like our very much hope to see it one day but you know it's just like i'm very fascinated by that because you go and you can. I mentioned something. You've created a problem for sewri going going back to mangga specifically i know i got you into joe. Yes yes you got me the georgia yes okay. Did you know that. Back when i first read joe joe. You couldn't officially get it outside of joy gab. Any translated for just automatically. You know how serious eating for me. It was having to hunt down. Weird scanned pirate copies on the internet of joe. Joe's bizarre for an entire until it finally started getting some level of localized. I've been looking to get steerable run physically anywhere for despise that problem. That is a big issue when it comes to things being either low.

Because i think they get bonuses if they didn't get customers to do that one just enough. Someone who does have a c x called and is a proud member of i can. I can generally say that i. I don't really agree with you. I do believe that. I'm all for that experience. I feel like it's one of the better experiences which you can do. I remember distinctly remember in red dead redemption to launched and. I didn't know what which store to go to. I had to go all the way telephone calls. So why go to the launch day. It was a pretty great experience. Have like something literally like fresh of the printer. I went i got it. It was pretty awesome. It works fine but you know. I understand your points and i do believe that some games are better played digitally. I do believe for example that if you're a pc gamer and you have the availability of steam and you have all those wonderful things. You can absolutely just like build up your entire steam library without if touching on pc gamers pretty much. Don't even have a choice now thrown out because if you buy a physical copy they give you the box but in the box is almost never a disc. It's usually a code that you then go redeem on steam or other like when you play whatever but another thing is well. I remember when. I was a lot younger and i always used the game on pc. Before i starting getting consoles as well i bought do. It's a game was really excited for looking forward to when i got in and i got this massive box copy inside. It had a cd key. Now this cd. This is a lot more classic style The story was very would jerry. Very bossy inside that as well but it was. It was really entertaining to say to say name. All all intense leap. He's underwater abode in search of a lawyer. And he does it in such brash. Y that you just gotta love the sub mariner for it. He's not subtle but she's decide that And and of course this issue the the first appearance. I think the red suit so Am allston issue with god The fight between the two. I thought was was pretty. Well handled considering well. I mean even by today's standards nightmares. Power set us a lot a lot higher than what you say when he fights data will in this issue but this still a marked difference between the two as i. Go down the straight Toronto well nine was I don't think he's he actually picks the five day. Wasn't it because everyone kind of gets scared. Name of walking down the street and biddable. They had to try and stop him but yet the underwater saying was cool Devil in a really big bad spot Surprised that he didn't die. Not want in. That instance a good to say he's acrobatic skills as well Bought the the mine. I think the main point of this was saying his. And it's been carried on in i till today is he's he's willpower lock. He's he's willingness to fight out although the odds of y against him and although he's all but bayton he's still still reaching out for nine more any gets his respect so that that's good to say I never saw. I'm here at as the enemy. And that's partly due to To my phantom for the character but he wasn't really portrayed as that that bad anyway he You know he did some weird things like Terrapin that lift lift door and you smashed through brick walls and tom bought. Hey he was just a little unqoute because he's such a royal figure In the how we handle things. Sorry classic tile. I mean all would really love to say have i would interact in the modern era. If that ever does happen Would be really difficult thing for any data varada kind of might that successful flight. I'm not sure how he would begins name. All data will is a wily one. He can do anything so yes. I'm really glad that you reviewing this issue. It's one that i was kind of. Go back to every now and again just because yes. I mentioned to my characters And Yeah i think on. Let's take on this bill. Be more interested in in yours as well Because i'm not too sure how you stand with the king of atlantis all would give this ice prince right now. Soulard outside of a plus own maybe edging towards an out was really fun raid and again not comparing it to today's standards but i guess trying to imagine the die that it was sorry yet they plus around i look forward to hearing your comments katcha. I mean yeah. I like name. Or when he's written well he was like here definitely lost. The platinum pledge for name were in recent years and i just feel like field. They think that he's outdated. I think he can work in a modern time again show. Dc political kind of along the lines. They did apple man but hopefully better because he's a better ruler hashtag lightning then akron so arts life on the surface it gets a whole different dynamic are a well. Let me ask you questions. Such a big fan of on name or if they do do a live action version of him. Either in a movie or on disney plus. Who do you want to play more. They would find donate. I don't think anybody that's like really out that i would say. Yeah that's name more. I think that they would definitely happy. Do like a search for me more. I think he deserves to be somebody new brash. You'll not give them the old christians worth. Oh we need another chris. I don't get the christmas thing monday. You know they just pull people out of obscurity that worked for pennies at first in are willing to do the work. And i get it. Can you know you don't want back. Let's i get you know what your ruby roses. I get it. I get it. But i was just getting all these clashes while ray was talking about You know they were walking down the street. The go that hafer confucian theater thought we were gonna do rogin at all those. When there's a long boxes episode one rogin deal at the leo to talk about this issue because if you don't know this thing about me it's of action like me more surprising.
