Theranos, whistleblowing and speaking truth to power

"So i had graduated seven years ago from berkeley with the dual degree in molecular and cell biology and linguistics. And i had gone to a career fair here on campus had gotten an interview with the startup called thanos and at the time. There wasn't really that much information about the company but the little that was there was really impressive. Essentially what the company was doing was creating a medical device where you would be able to run your entire blood pam panel on a finger stick blood. She wouldn't have to get a big needle stuck in your harm in order to get your blood tests done so this was interesting not only because it was less painful but also it could potentially open the door to predictive diagnostics. If you had a device that allowed for more frequent and continuous diagnosis potentially you could diagnose disease before someone got sick and this was confirmed in an interview that the founder elizabeth holmes had said in the wall street journal. You know the reality within our healthcare system today. Is that when someone you care about gets really sick by the time you found out. It's too late to do anything about it. And it's heartbreaking. This was a moonshot. That i really wanted to be a part of and i really wanted to help bills and there was another reason why i think the story of elizabeth really appealed to me so there was a time that someone had said to me. Erica there are two types of people. There are those that thrive in those that. Survive in you my dear our survivor. Before i went to university. I had grown up in a one bedroom trailer with six family members. And when i told people i wanted to go to berkeley they would say well. I want to be an astronaut. So good luck. And i stuck with it and i worked hard. I managed to get in honestly. My first year was very challenging. I was the victim of a series of crimes. I was robbed at gunpoint. I was sexually assaulted. And i was sexually assaulted at third time. Spring on very severe panic attacks where it was failing my classes and dropped out school and at this moment people had said to me erica. Maybe you're not cut out for the sciences. Maybe you should reconsider doing something else. And i told myself you know what if i don't make the cut i don't make the cut but i cannot give up myself and i'm going to go for this and even if i'm not the best for it i'm going to try to make it happen and luckily i stuck with it and i got the degree and i graduated. So when i heard elizabeth holmes had dropped out of stanford at age nineteen to start this company and it was being quite successful to me. It was a signal of you know. Didn't matter what your background was. As long as you committed hard work and intelligence that was enough to make an impact on the world. And this was something for me personally that i had to believe in my life because it was one of the few anchors that i had had that. Got me through the day. So you can imagine when i thought about theranos. I really anticipated that. This would be the first and last company that i was going to work for. This was finally my opportunity to contribute to society to solve the problems that i had seen in the world but i started to note some problems so i started off as an entry level associate and the lab and we would be sitting in a lab meeting reviewing data to confirm whether the technology worked or not. And someone would say to me. Well let's get rid of the outlier and see how that affects the accuracy rate. So what constitutes outlier here. Which one is the outlier in the answer. Is you have no. You don't know right. In deleting a data point is really violating one of the things that i found so beautiful about the scientific process which it really allows the data to reveal the truth to you and as tempting as it might be in certain scenarios to place your story on the data to confirm your own narrative when you do this has really bad future consequences so this to me was almost immediately a red flag in a kind of folded into the next experience and the next red flag that i started to see within the clinical laboratory so clinical laboratory is where you actively process patient samples and so before. I would run a patient sample. I would have a sample where i knew what the concentration was. And in this case it was point to for tps psa which is an indicator of whether someone has prostate cancer or is at risk of prostate cancer. Or not. but when i'd run it in the theranos device it would come out eight point nine and then i'd run it again and it come out five point one and i'd run it again. Had come out point five which is technically in range. But what do you do in this scenario. What is the accurate answer

"A hard time increasingly hard time telling you the difference during my opening satires than the actual news. I'm never sure which I'm reading I. You know. There's a debate going on online about pornography. which seems as far as I can tell to have been started by our own Matt Walsh and his evil twin Michael Knowles one side? The Wall side says porn is bad and should be restricted by government. The other side the Libertarians. Say That in a free society citing government has no right to restrict expression on subjective moral grounds. Now they're obvious. Flaws in both arguments. The libertarian subjective morality case makes no sense all laws based on morality and the morality may include areas of grey. Its basic laws are not subjective that virtually the same nearly everywhere porn is a form of prostitution for the performers. It's degrading for the users and it's dangerous for children who have almost unrestricted access to it online. Like the use of Meth. It is clearly not in keeping being with the common good but it's also true that the less consensus there is on a specific moral issue. The more power has to be applied to enforce the common an interest back in the day when everyone basically agreed that looking at porn was shameful. It was easy to restrict it especially at the local level now with the Internet it would require a federal a law on an issue where consensus is hard to come by which means you'd be putting a tremendous censorship power in the hands of the government. How long would it be before? Democrats took power and and declared the conservative speech was kind of porn and therefore fell under the law. Not long you can see it happening already on Youtube and facebook. This debate and it's complications are part of a greater debate. Taking place on the right should government's first responsibility be preserving our freedom or should it be the common good. This has become known as the Amari Mari French debate with. Sarah Amari defending the common good and David French pudding. Freedom I my own point of view is unfortunately nuanced and complex. I hate eight that my sympathies are all with Matt Walsh. The.

"Like love love not like you know three you know like, not much, not the way you love like at three legged puppy like the DC. That has the main. But we lost them here. Yeah. We lost them. Heroes be lost ironman. We lost bike widow capsule man, give us quasar. Yes. And captain marvel I was oppressed. She went toe to toe with Thanos with the gauntlet when he was still adjusting that was impressive, but I made the comment on our review. I you know, four didn't in rag Moroccan now, captain, more of a wise it anytime people go to space. Get a haircut. Rocket had to comment on it. Didn't he? I just love that one. That would force freaking out, Nina after they make the time for command. I saw coming. Yes. Recurred. I don't wanna get too long. But nowhere, we haven't mentioned what were your thoughts on raw, professor hall. Great taking fees. That was one of the funniest ant man parts to, oh, he wants to take a picture with, you know, I don't wanna. Sansone manson's. Yeah. The whole was really interesting, especially the part where they're back at the battle. And he goes, yeah. Smashes you, thanks to. I don't know feel gratuitous. He just can't happily Knox. Yes. Let me when we're talking about before he count on that. Like they kind of brought back all the dead characters because, you know, I a past more came back Leuke in that time I got away with the space stones. We're gonna get an alternate time line. Now. Yeah. But didn't clear that up like going back earlier and getting getting it from if they did then. Yeah, I, I know. Member member of that out, LOKI ran offered a spate wall. Yeah. Yeah. But then cap goes back and puts everything back. So, but it put it back in present in the far past, the LOKI still would have got away, but I waited Bastogne is that are going. Outscored doesn't create an alternate timelines. Yeah. Maybe the locusts do marble, or plus, dizzy, plus, series will be a boot night thoughts. I thought I read somewhere. Okay. We're talking about. It's going to be like, I think it's gonna be lashed back, mostly, like, like low keys like influence on like different points in history and stone navy. Maybe they wanna just keep it under wraps didn't wanna say have to do. It'll be different every week, and, you know, sure the, the name of the new series that was going to be falcon in winter soldier is going gonna be captain America in winter soldier, captain American Baki. Pretty much. Isn't that whose captain America now? Yeah, good as the regional copies. Does he just does everything a little slower? Now, will his wings, be falcon's wings and his head around. Good question. I don't know. We got a lot of face a workout. I think they can make a movie about cap just going back in returning Infinity stones to the moment before they took them. That would be cool, especially see the awkward interaction with the red faced floaty guy. Tell me the story I need sold. Run must have been hard man, because after like he put everything back, like I need down a lifetime. Booty call. Yeah. That was that was interesting. I mean he was always around. That's what I'm saying. Because go it wasn't an alternate time on this not necessarily he kept his head down. And you know, didn't like upset the apple cart, and everything it could've been. You know, could always been that way, which I think is they were playing it. But then, like that's like last night Charlie was like so he led hydra takeover shield in. Yeah. I'm like, you know, you don't want you know, you don't want to upset history. He, he knows he there, eventually, you know eventually office. But yeah, a lot of people still bad..

"Not during a scene with her finish said later, my new I was acting, but my heart didn't and my body. Certainly didn't I won't discuss it more because of the degree of intimacy involved. That was Finney the chemistry between the two is unmistakable Harris writes, and perhaps at its most powerful during the scenes when you're wondering whether Mark and Joanna should stay together at all a counter to your point about the Manzini score. He says, Don and gives their dilemma a great glossy coat from the gorgeous animated opening credits by 007 genius MAURICE binder to what may be the most melancholy romantic theme, Henry Mancini ever composed and then on its poignancy. He says undone in steady hand to for the road. Does what only a Hollywood movie can do it convince you to beautiful movie stars tooling through France and car are just like us. It's everybody's marriage. That's on trial in this film. If you've ever failed to let a fight go or said one thing too many or kept silent rather than apologize. You're likely to recognize a bit of yourself in the shards of the Wallace's the point about how they're just like us the scene that I think does that. So well is when they are forced to stay in the chichi hotel and have to kind of dodge around the fact that they can't afford to tell the restaurant. I mean, those charged for it is just a great secret. So fun so two for the road, my choice. Maybe Mark Harris's choice. If indeed he was participating in the marathon Thanos pick. I know it's not your choice though, Josh. And you know, what it's also not the choice of another guest. We have teased at last week that my daughter Sophie has been watching all of these films with me the first film finding marathon any of my children have fully participated in. And she wanted to play along and weigh in with her choice for best picture. I'm Sophie Manar in my awards for best picture goes to funny face. I was sucked in soon as the bundle of pink fabric hits the camera during the opening number it sets the tone for the whole movie fun wins ical, vibrant that. Coupled with an excellent performance from Audrey Hepburn led to experience where to quote, my dad. I couldn't wait to rewatch it as I was watching it. So there's my daughter quoting me quoting same van Haldeman? But that's fine. We'll go with it all goes round and round. Well, I knew Sophie was sharp. But this seals the deal. I mean, she she got the pick. Right. Funny faces the best picture of this marathon. I'll admit I probably enjoyed charade as much while watching it. But I think for me funny face has those musical production numbers that just are going to put it over the top. If you're comparing the two not only what I've already mentioned in these awards, but how about on how to be lovely that satirical, duet with Hepburn and Kate Thomson. I think that one really is crucial because it undercuts some of the movies fashion fascination that that they got into labout. That's great. Irene George Gershwin's. He loves and she loves I don't think we talked about this when we reviewed it at all. But this is where Hepburn an Astaire are at an. Outdoor wedding photo shoot. And they dance their way across a stream by lightly stepping onto a floating raft. I mean, here's another almost over the top Don touch could have been a pick for physio seen as well. So funny face. It's just stuffed with production numbers. Most of them quite delightful. Domine, of course, will forever be known for co directing singing in the rain. But I do think funny face has deserves a place in the top tier musicals conversation. Well, it's my runner up certainly for this marathon film. I did enjoy and has so many of those great done in moments. And touches that's our marathon. Are thanks again to Sophie to Nathaniel, of course, for all of his insights and launching all of these conversations. We hope you enjoyed this marathon whether you were following along or not and able to watch every film, we do have another marathon coming up. We don't have the date set exactly for when it will commence, but we're going to take a look at the work of Josef von Sternberg and Marlene Dietrich that collaboration. You can find. More information about all of our marathons, including listening back to all of these Don and conversations at film, spotting dot net. And just click on marathons at the top of the page.

"Here we go. The mad titan. Faint says finally pushed his will upon the universe in his mad dash to acquire the six Infinity stones he has encountered a roadblock. Is it any of the mighty heroes of the marvel universe? No today. Anew champion stands forward a man with spiky hair and an orange key the sand known as caca rots. He's the only hero left standing between us snap and eternity. It's the mad titan versus the orange carrots. It's the spirit breaker versus the spirit bomb. Cisco coup today. And welcome to another episode of who would win I show that completely ignores anything important happening in the world. And instead focuses on a fictional battle between two characters from the worlds of comic SCI fi and fantasy. I'm your host, James gassy. And as always I'm joined by my co host race to Kanus Ray what's going on with you today today seems to be a special debut. I feel real good about today. James galaxy. I don't see a physical way that I could possibly lose this battle today. I you go Goku is very very powerful. Okay. Goku is a tremendous character. And you're going to bring the heat, and I have no question in my mind are gonna be in the fire, but I famous I get Thanos the weekend that endgame as just happened. Look the Heat's on me right now. The momentum is with me. I feel good about today. I love me some things you love. Okay. Ray? You have very little going on your life right now. Is that correct? I have a winning streak on the who would win show and everything else is immaterial and tastic. Okay. How much do you have your Bank account? Don't worry about that. Fantastic. Okay. So joining us as a moderator once more is someone who has appeared on shows such as Silicon Valley Roseanne speechless and rosewood. It's none other than the spectacular. Brent pope. Brent? Yes. You'd be on the show. Tell us about before we tell you about anything. Why is why do we? Okay, we have returning moderators. Come and do the show again. Right. Why is it only moderators who give you victories or brought back? Why why do we never bring back people who vote for me? Do you want the the real explanation or do you want like a fun explanation? I I would like as real as it gets and tastic you are what we call talent. Hi, I'm what we call it an executive producer. You have no power. I have all the power. I make the decisions. That's how it is. You sign the contract. I you don't wanna hear the fundraising. Thank you for saying. I'm talented. You're welcome. I mean, that's really all I needed to hear. You've got talent. I gotta tell you've got talent. And you're definitely a huge asset to the show. But the reason we want to bring Brent back. First of all his episode with night wing versus craving. The hunter test to get great episode, really. But great at three issues, but besides that it was great. So brand let me let me just say. First of all thank you were coming back on the show. You are awesome. I hold on once I puked up little bit. When you called Ray talent. Do you have any? We have any water. Can maybe this'll be not as my day as I thought it was. But I still feel good. Okay rent. You were saying that you know, a lot has happened. The last time I've been on the episode. What's been going on since last time on the who'd which I mean, you can have some very passionate fans. I'll say I got a lot of engagement on Twitter and online in general, and they're listening to this show, obviously. And they're like, well, what do James and Ray look like in in person. And I I I guess I was trying to describe it in what they would understand since they're like comic book nerd type people or anime people. And so I said well Ray kind of looks. I guess it just done that Muppets episode like a few episodes back Ray kind of looks like the eagle from the Muppets mixing like Sam the eagle. Yeah. Mixed with beaker. Right. But somehow looking worse than both of them like this amalgamation will both. But somehow looking worse than both of them individually. That is exactly how raise been described hundreds of times online..

We need to talk about Thanos' insane population control scheme in 'Infinity War'

"Of course, for many of us who have seen the avengers film 0. Not the newest one the newest one is no dead giveaways. Don't no problems here. But one of the reasons why this new one is so popular because it's something that fans did in the previous film, and that is he wiped out fifty percent of the population. It's up to the adventures to correct this Dow it's difficult after even the vendors themselves lost a few colleagues in the process. And now they're the rest that are remaining have to figure out a way to save the world. And that's why you go to the movie. That's why it selling out because everybody wants to know what happens why the world has to be saved and who saves the world who recovers who doesn't recover and after the movie of the first movie came out, the adventures 0 film came out and fan stabbed his finger. Fifty percent of the population went away. There actually was a red discussion group called fans did nothing wrong. And it gained about one hundred eighty eight thousand subscribers in the four months after Injures 0 came out and. Basically saying killing trillions of people is obvious is obviously, you know, evil killing trillions of people killing billions of people. Evil. I mean, we're not only killing off the billions of people, but we are also, you know, killing the the microbiome or killing some insects were killing some birds. There's even a. There's a video going around the internet internet right now. Viral. It ended says facts about how fan killed fifty percent of the population in the movie, and it's in the other movie not this one coming. I don't wanna make you think I'm giving away a spoiler about this because I'm not, but there's a video going viral in the saying what if fan knows killed fifty percent of the population, and it goes into the detail about how horrible it's going to be how things are badness. And all of a sudden, we started seeing that in video it starts becoming a positive view on fan Ohs removing the population. It takes on a more Malthus, Ian view, and what he doesn't talk about is how we have the science today. So far from what I understand. We have the science today that we would be able to just double up on the resources that we have. Of cutting the population half, we could invent more like we were talking about lab meets that we were talking about farming. We were talking about the extensive ways of creating. You know, better crops more more nutrient crops and things of that nature revenue. GMO's we do something. That's better. We think better we think outside the box. But see there are many people who agree with that said there are too many people on earth. And that the whole planet or at least half the planet or reduce the population to five hundred million as it is in the Georgia guide stones. Global populations seven times where it was how authors wrote his essay and yet in the last three years alone. We've cut extreme poverty in half. There are still people out there that are poor. But fewer people are dying today of starvation than they did back in the mouth is per capita income is higher child. Labor is down. And it turns out the main problem was never that the world was overpopulated, but it's people never free enough to create wealth. And so now that we created well, but now that we should be more. You know, we should use this wealth in order to build better things rather than killing off people. And it just it just bothers me that the elite want to keep the resources, and they wanna take them from you. And you card wanna do they want to shove something like socialism down your throat? They wanna take from you. What you've earned. They wanna take from you. What you've what you've been doing? And and once again, I can't believe there's anybody out there the things what what phantoms did. With the good

"Everyone on fucking tighten the sides. Tony nebula. Yeah. They had a fucking squad else's fucking all the guardians. Like eighty percent ninety. Scent of the guardians. So my brother told me this theory that I kind of like he thinks that what's going to happen is they're going to pretty much replay the whole fight on Macondo. But in the meantime, they're going to be back in time snagging stones before Thanos gets to Akanda. And then as he shows up to a Kanda us not gonna have the stones. That's that's gonna be there like how they win. So it's a fair fight. Yeah. I would like to see it to where it's Thanos is Thanasis children are there, and they also have his army because I think and plus it's gonna ring true to what they said. And all the right. Yeah. Exactly the hawks, and it'd be there. So that shot they showed in the first avengers. With hulk is actually a real shot. It's not like they were trying to will the thing is if Thanos Bill doesn't have the gauntlet. He's no match for captain marvel. He's no match for the avengers. I feel like if he doesn't have to go. I think he was no match killed them for the head. He's fucking dead right with that weapon. He's no match. He's no match. But he's also I mean, captain marvel could just one on one him and his boys, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't win all defense. And that's why I want him with the gauntlet, and I kind of want to see him matched up with captain marvel man, I wanna see captain America with that fucking hammer and that she picking up the storm breaker on I'll fucking perish. Yeah. Different. It's different. They have to get Mola near back. He needs to pick that up you needs to have the shield, and he's the fucking baby Thanos. What he does. But he needs to fucking with him around give cab one lacerra. Yeah. We'll four wasn't in one of the quantum suits. Right. You know and Thor and captain marvel while I'm saying what are they changing with time. Because it looks like the scenes of the way that they're shot. It looks like different characters are leading in one shot. It's captain America and another shot. It looks like maybe black widow is near the front that they're going back in there trying and trying again, it's almost like groundhog's day where they keep trying to change history they failed, but they go back they fail. They go back. So I wonder what is going to change. And now there's a theory about the Infinity stones are going to create mutants. And that's how they bring in the X men. That's what I thought with the quantum room. When they bring everybody back. They're going to the world. So nice snapback reality mutants are gonna come back. And that makes it easy now to claim that scarlet which is a mutant if the Infinity stones are what gives birth to mutants in the world..

I dunno, I, it's, it's, it's kind of making me curious in excited even though I know it's probably not going to be good, but Ben, do you have any thoughts? I'm sort of right there with you. I, I am a big fan of Rebecca Ferguson. I feel like we've seen a lot of, you know, in our internal slash film slack channels. There's been a lot of speculation about what this means do we think do you think that maybe she's playing a villain. I think that was one of Jacob's theories, Hugh put any any stock in that. I would really like to see her play villain. Just personally, I think she could act hell out of a role like that, and it would be fun to steer sort of amp it up on screen opposite hamsters and Thompson. So I think that that could possibly be the case. I mean, it's totally also plausible that she would be playing nother MIB agent because she kind of. Fits the Bill. Having played a a spy in the mission, impossible films, we know that this one's going to go international so they might have other bureaus from around the world of the the men in black. She could definitely be like someone from the Cape bureau. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Okay. Our last and final story is a bit of a spoiler. No, it is right for ventures, Infinity war. So if you have not seen a vendor Infinity war, you can tune out now because we're about to get into spoilers, and that is the writer for of injuries and finish. The war has finally explained why they knows waited so long to execute his plan in that movie then tell us about it. Yeah. So it was six years between when audiences I saw fan and the mid credit scene of the avengers to win. He basically destroyed half of the universe in vendors and finish this year. So why did it take that long? Stephen mcfeely who is one of the co writers according to the. Ventures. Infinity war commentary explained Thanos his timetable, and he said, the catalyst for the whole movie was when Thanos figuring out where the soul stone was because he captured nebula on his ship after she went after him at the end of guardians with galaxy volume two, and it around in her brain and found out that Comoran knew where the soul stone was. So basically all boils down to Santos wanted to know where all of the Infinity stones were. So he could just, you know, bounce from one location to the next and gather all of them instead of getting them one at a time and maybe having to potentially fight off other people who might be looking for them or anything like that. I, I mean, I think this is one of those things that we kind of assumed, but I guess it's nice to have somebody in like an official capacity confirm this, and the whole thing just really makes me feel bad for nebula because she's basically a torture victim. I mean that that scene in Infinity warrior, where the camera moves to the side and you see that she's being, you know, stretch. Out against her will and sort of physically broken f as she as phantoms is trying to pump. Her for information is is pretty horrifying. So I mean, I guess she cracked and there's not. I mean, I certainly don't blame nebula for that. You know, I was sort of in this article wondering like who is ultimately responsible for this like, do you blame nebula? Probably not. Do you blame 'camorra for sharing the secret information with nebula in the first place? I don't know about that. I think we all star ward starboard blame..

"The rings with marvel superheroes because you you're right you're the empire strikes back doesn't end with a happy ending and neither does this film and i think i given the expectations they had going in to actually i think exceed the expectations i had for it i would've told you will be lucky if it's as good as we hope that it is it's better than i thought it was going to be and i think it has a lot of very profound things to say and that's where we want to go next thanos his driving impulse now in the comics thanos is driving impulse to obtain the infinity gauntlet to anoint himself essentially small g god and to snap and he does snap his fingers in just like in the movie and to eliminate half of life on in the universe in the comics is motivation is very very basic instinct he falls in love with death and what's the best way to death create the greatest cosmic scale of event of death in history of the cosmos and win her affections that way he does this to impress her if that was in this movie now agreed you cannot have all of the contemporary themes marvel as dressed and then just have you know this space monster who just wants to win some other other dimensional now you're right that wouldn't work okay so what they did is they turn thanos into the living manifestation of malthusian ethics.

"Sure well see superman did not learn those martial arts and he did not learn those body of pressure points in order to win fights he learned them so he could preserve life he wants to know the spots on the body that he can hit without killing person he he wants to live in a world made of cardboard never once losing control not even for a second where somebody might die fan ose on the other hand he killed both his parents without a single thoughts he wiped out the life on his planet without a single thought he wiped out half the life in the entire universe without a single bolt he does not fight with anything held back and this is really impressive when you consider that fenosa spotter a guy named mentor he was a brilliant scientist who spent his life studying banos because he realized that then owes would destroy the universe if he got a chance and there's a really cool issue where he made a device like a gun that was supposed to kill fan on a molecular level and then being the boss that he is he took the gun he pointed at his own head and said oh this gun and he pulled the trigger it blew his skull apart but he instantly recovered from it and said i can't be killed so again thanos he's responsible for wiping out half the life in the galaxy and life is so meaningless to him that he has no qualms about wiping it out so in that regard i found when researching this battle that superman and then oes are opposites superman will spare all the villains if he believes there is even an ota of chance that they can be redeemed and that makes for a great hero but it's going to be a big disadvantage in this fights thanos can telepathically know what to say to get superman to hold back he can appeal to his humanity and superman will probably hold back until he realizes hey van os can take whatever i'm dishing out by that time it's going to be too late i think that superman's best chance and this is not a who would win type thing but if they had a chance encounter like we're doing banos is going to win superman is gonna fly back and regroup and the first thing he's going to do is bring back the justice league.

"In my first point so here's my point number one and it's all about speed and i've used before but i'm talking about combat speed so some characters can fly it super speed some can think superfast some have super fast reflexes but no one can fly fight are as overall powerful and can use all of their powers while thinking and processing information at super speed the way superman can that's how he's really different from people in his same quote unquote class so people ask how fast superman the real question here is how fast can superman fight let's take a look at wake and do the super speed so he's able to celebrate his perception with the flash so that time stops around them in other words everyone everything around random stops as he's moving reacting thinking and talking at the same speed the flashes we've seen this in movies where people with super speed and moving so fast that everything else stands still this is not something thanos can do or match one others ample super combat speed so while fighting professor zoom when of dc's premier speedsters superman catches up to him and proceeds to clothesline him to knock him down in reaction to this professor zoom states that superman speed rivals his own and it gets even better while fighting super boy prime we mentioned this evil super boy from another dimension was even more powerful than typically a superman should be superman fighting him and while they're fighting they fly while fighting with him to the sun and back in under a minute now it would take eight point three minutes for light to reach your if a travel light speed so how fast was superman you know flying and fighting doing combat with a powerful ponant you know go into the sun and back so in terms of combat speed this is something that anos can't match whatever does does he has to do it at even at super speed for thanos that's nothing compared to how fast uber man can move superman can hit him with all his powers all this stuff before literally thanos can even.
