Mike, turn on your. Phone noises I'll I'll do it right now. My phone's on. Do not disturb. That's way too much work. I wanted to Mike just in the background here Ka Ching. You're ready. Just just send it and I'll press a button on on my soundboard. Orders never getting it because he's. ME. I order it. Just put your address. Right. Bank. That has. Been Most. And his new age technology then Mo. anyways before I move on real quick, I just want to say that the reason David. Probably wins an F. One a lot because he's probably generally better at studying than you owe studying the tracks oh yeah. because. You know how much effort I put into lawn. Irish should say how much I pay attention to the tracks. Would you use your general studies degree for as good point I you know I just I haven't quite figured out how to how to master most of the tracks I probably need to put in a little more practice effort like you x one X. One xbox one guys do. You? Have like five degrees. Don't you all right? We'll move on more degrees in a Russian pro tractor. I got the fax, game this week. I. Don't know about this one, but we'll try all right you ready. Maybe. I am an American. Yes, you are. Scott Nixon? I am as. Racked up thirty nine starts over the course of fourteen years and. In my season of Indy Lights I on the championship edging out Dan Wheldon. Aj foyt fourth. No, but that is a good guess that is actually a very good guess because he did do things in lights. Why it's the, it's the what did you say thirty nine starts? That's Kinda abner over fourteen years. That's. How I got I think you I think you got me I've got. We'll do a couple more hints. Mile last race was in twenty sixteen. With Andretti autosport at the indy five hundred, and you commonly hear my voice every weekend on a race broadcast I don. while. There's three people the NBC boosts. Yes. Townsend Bell is the correct answer. Did you. Guys know the he beat. Sorry! That's a bad question to ask now, but yes. I do that once before like you guys didn't know that ships name was Eugene. Answer your question. Yes the two thousand one, he beat Dan Wheldon by something like thirty or forty points in the championship. saw video on Youtube I. Don't know where, but anyways I stupid brain was going Paul Tracy race more than thirty nine five Paul Tracy raised almost like. Two hundred eighty times. Yeah, something ridiculous, so and if you ask him in indy five hundred winner, however, not okay all right, so just touched on a lot of quotes about Roger Penske specifically pertaining to the schedule and the indy five hundred, he also discussed the idea that indycar teams who obtained a leader circle money, which is the? Kind of pay out that Eckhart does to the teams I feel fulltime entries. They thought that their money should also be going towards an indy lights entry so every team that got leader circle. Money would have to enter at least one entry indy lights. Roger went on to say that having six to seven cars is a detriment to the indy lights brand also Roger Penske wants f one back to Indianapolis Motor speedway as soon as twenty twenty one. Our earliest twenty one twenty one, but there could be a couple years after that as well. guys general takeaways from either of those. I have trouble picturing how the indy lies. Thing is going to work only because the indy lights budget. Or the indy lights cost is not cheap. It's close to a million dollars, if not a little over a million dollars, that's not chump change for a majority of the INDYCAR teams out there if there is a way to bring the indy lights, costs down to a more reasonable, six, hundred grand, maybe or if there's a way that okay, if you're in indy lights are INDYCAR team in you cover fifty percent of in indy lights car. Something like that I. Don't know I'm coming up with compromises before. It's even a real topic, but. Yeah, I love the idea in theory I just I struggled a picture how it's GonNa work because any lights program is is really not cheap, and it's. It's gone up in the last couple of years so if they can bring the cost in line I think it's. It's definitely A. A strong possibility in terms of F one back in twenty, twenty one. I don't know probably not, but what I be against seeing Ephron back at indy. No I would love to to head out to India to Dec- enough wondrous one day. would be really cool I. I didn't get to go in the. Mid Two thousands when when they were there. So it's it. It would be on my bucket list for sure sorry. All of the Ephron races in the two thousands in I would love to see them. Come back. It was so much fun totally different environment than indy-car, but very fun to be a part of for a weekend so I love to see them. Come back hopefully I guess keep my fingers crossed. "I have seen lots of complaints about about how this would go the five hundred or I m. s is not the only place thinking about using something like this Disney. You are having to schedule a time to enter the park and do pretty much everything else there, so it's similar to that, and that's something that's also scale of people in their. Not Opening tells the middle. July I think today's but. I think we all have to get used to a new world where things are not quite as. Free flowing as they have previously been I. Think it's a good idea. I think there's obviously going to be some. kinks tour cow, per, se, but I think it will work in the end, so on that note we do have a question from Brian Burke and he wants to know, and I'm going to answer this when I, actually he wants to know how Roger is going to enforce the APP win like if you were out and about moving when the AP says, he shouldn't be so i. read the. The whole article in actually there's there's a lot of information. If you WANNA choose to take it in about how entity already uses apps for things like this, they can set like little alarms. That will go off if there's too many people in a certain area, so I would imagine that if you have the APP, and you're supposed to be in your seat in new cross the little. Wines they're tracking people. It's GonNa say you're not supposed to be there and they're gonNA. Have Alerts. Go off that you're not supposed to be there. For whatever reason so I think it would be kind of seamless, honestly if you have the APP to get into the place than they're gonna be able to tell where you're supposed to be if you're still carrying your phone or whatever the case is yeah. I'm just going to add one thing on top. What Jeff said I would imagine whether it be. Yellow shirts some other AB outside security firm that they contract in. For some extra extra people extra manpower, extra yellow shirts. That there would be you know if you cross that line, somebody who says hey, please turn around for a little bit I. Don't know it's I didn't read the article as in-depth Jess but. I don't think it'll be a huge deal for those that are there. They'll know the risks of breaking the rules and who wants to get kicked out of the indy five hundred, because they use the bathroom at the wrong time I mean come on. That's immediately pitfall. Were they right there? Yeah, it sounds like a turn three thing I. Don't Know Yeah I. Don't know there's there's definitely. Definitely smarter minds out there to answer this question than me I don't know if I'm allowed to answer this question. I have no idea how we're going to see APP, but you guys sounded really smart, so maybe I'll just side with what you said, but back to kind of justice, counterpoint and I don't know if we maybe we just wanted to say chalk this up to Minnesota ignorance. Because I've been to six. Indy five hundred I think and so yeah, you know like you know. We usually just get in watch race. Go home. You know we don't have a lot of time to do the carbon day or anything leading up to pull anything like that, and from my point of view I was Kinda thinking more commercially like you can't. I. Don't feel like you can just escape TV contracts or the commitments that teams have made to running the indy five hundred, plus even if without fans if they run at the TV, ratings are going to be huge, which is good for sponsors in a certain way, despite no three hundred thousand, or if they trimmed down, seventy five thousand fans aren't at the track. That's a lot less is at the track, but still commercially speaking on the TV I think it would be huge home run for a lot of teams and sponsors so I told you you're saying I had never want to know what it's like to have. Five hundred without fans I just wouldn't. Be opposed to it if it's either having the race with no fans or no race at all and I. Respect that opinion, even though I know I don't necessarily agree. There's nothing wrong I. Totally get it. Yeah, and I don't want anybody to rob just number twenty nine. I just want to throw out that that's important, so like yeah, and it sounds like. You. Know I'm not bitter or anything. I'm glad the Roger penske outside. It's just I wasn't going to be surprised if he said the other way. I'm glad we know this now. On the second week of June may I forget what day it is at this point, but. Instead of wondering until we get closer to the race, it's it's I. I appreciate the proactiveness. If that's a word that they are doing with everything, every announcement is well in advance so. Shout out to Roger in whoever else is involved in making all these very complicated decisions, so with that quick team pit-lane. Shout shoutout to carry him. Stephen Clarke and Keith Tiring Justice everything for moved on I didn't want to. Now, you're good. All Fair points all around I. I'm not mad at you for wanting it to go on without fans at all I just. It would break my heart if it did. What are the odds of? Me Getting a Burger when it does happen that. Pretty good. I mean we can figure it out. That was a yes everybody if you didn't hear that now. Moving on just a quick pl P, G P RECAP QUICK PSA. We actually have one spot opened up when the xbox side so if you're listening to this and want to raise F one, two, thousand, nineteen on the Xbox side just give me a message on twitter, and we can figure something out, but we just completed the race at Hungary Jake nearly one I finished second Brad Jane's finished third crazy race. "Of the reasons I thought coin going to struggle. You're right, so there's a lot like bottles engineer changes for whatever reasons for me to track, but yeah so very good. Start to them on ovals I I hope that translates to the rest of the season as well, and I don't really put the incident on anybody per se i. just think it was one of those things. I if it looks, had had a hell of a day I think it was just unfortunate timing. There's there's I. Don't have any problem with where hinch and Marco were on the track. At that point, Rosenquist needs to get aggressive to try to get up there and fight for the lead, so it is what it is like. Matt said a total racing incident, so we are going to interject our first fan question here from Jeff Lacy over on twitter. If feel doesn't necessarily win a race, but he's consistently fast. Will he be safe at nasty at the end of two thousand twenty? It depends on how literal I like winners is. There's a lot of drivers that have driven for chip, Ganassi that didn't do a whole lot. So to me Felix is miles ahead of some of the other talent. We've seen roll through there in a some of those part time roles or the non nine and ten cars, so I think he's done a fantastic job and I really hope that chip doesn't like not as like. Give him a pass, but understand that he's a really good job right now. It's really fast, I. Sort of agree, and sort of disagree so I have to say that I. Feel like if he doesn't win. and. He's consistently quick, but. Also consistently doesn't finish than we're looking at. yeah, he won't have a job, but I think if he's just consistently. Quick in does finish by doesn't win then. He's on the fence. But I think chip would keep him one more year to give it a shot. I'm sure you saw my face. I'm really angry that you said that because that was exactly almost word for word what I wanted to say if he's fest. And he finishes the races, even if it's not a second place great, but if he's a, he's wrecking, allot even if it's not necessarily his fault at could be a problem, so I'm just pretty much. Echoing adjusts, says here so we will continue on recapping our predictions from last weekend, so matt predicted that Scott Dixon. Would do well producer that safe bet to say yes. He did said Felix wouldn't do well so while Felix didn't. End, the race. I still think he had a solid effort. So, what are you GonNa Crash? Yeah not. Many finished a above. Some of our other people were going to talk about. Than I had hinch would do well. It didn't really happen at I. had Rina's vk with not do well definitely nailed that one. Jets head Santino doing well. Not so accurate on that one and said Saito would not do well I. Guess I default of not starting the race unfortunately due to. Crashing in qualifying that she would be correct on that one. So yeah I will continue on here in just just in case forgot the schedule. We've got about three weeks now until the next race on July fourth, which is the Grand Prix of Indian? As we mentioned last week, there will be no fans there, but still looking forward to covering the event kind of the same way. We did this past one in Texas, some live streams in addition to all the entre coverage that we brought so we will continue on our right as I've got a quick fan question the throwing from Christian Debsky. He wants to know how we think the race would have played out if there had been no mandated entire stints, wilty penske would have been toast. And it's kind of irritating that this stint was put in place team penske's Tyler Texas always atrocious. So, I'm a little bombed I. Think New Garden and Padua would not have finished high. And I think as a whole, it would have been another one of those, do you? Every thirty laps for fresh tires and go super fast, or you try to extend it to fifty labs? Do unless pit stop and go slower so I think. Dixon had a dialed in no matter what. Would have been tough to see anybody beat him. Who would know yeah like Matt said? I think that penske would have been in serious trouble if they had longer than a thirty five lep stint but I. Honestly I don't think the race would have been too terribly different both Zach v Jen Scott Dixon. When asked similar questions I think Zach told the told Jessen, I that around lap, thirty or so that he was pretty much ready for new tire, so I think I don't think too much necessarily would have changed from that standpoint. I think some people definitely would have been willing to take the risk of going longer I. Don't know that they would have gone a whole lot longer, but I think they would have been at least willing to risk it in bit, I'm wondering about a few of the. Early incidents exactly in the pits, but Santino. I think he had something go wrong with his drive shaft when he was trying to leave the pit and. Might have been willpower got really crooked in the pit and loss time on it things like that little things that might not have happened if they weren't so worried about getting into the pits at certain particular times so. Do I think it would have changed a lot. No, but I think a few people might have done better or worse. Depending so with that, we are going to move into the indy. Five hundred I don't even know I don't even know how I feel about this right now, but we're going to talk about it a little bit so Roger Penske has now this. This past week and said that he is pretty much adamant that either the five hundred is going to have fans, or it is not gonNA run I. Have Been saying not for I don't know the past month and a half or so. That was my feeling on how.

"Welcome to another episode of Pit Lane Parlay I. Am your host Mike? Joke them, joining me tonight to discuss everything Texas. And some questions are my favorite co host Justin met guys. How're we doing tonight I am? I'm tired tonight. Actually come to think about it. As far as your favorite co host, who else would be in the running? I mean that's fair. That's a good question. I realized that after I said it, but. Let's just go with it and be happy I said something nice and not like the Co host that I can't stand. that. I'm stuck with would have been more honest. That's the point where we are here to promote positivity in good energy and good vibes this week. Who are you in what to do with Mike from last week, I don't know it's probably because I got a nap for like the last two hours before we started recording, so it's just kicking in than I'm awake, which means also probably be awake until around five in the morning tomorrow so I guess we'll find out there, but guys. Let's dive. Dive into Texas so just a quick thought. Five review before we break everything down so thick in one as you heard, we talked to him earlier this week. That interview came out on Tuesday morning Simon passionate finished in second place. Just of new garden finished in third. Place Zach reach who we also talked to this week finished in fourth place and then Ed Carpenter finished in fifth place, which is probably the quietest top-five finish of Ed Carpenter's career. With that being said it was a pretty tough race in terms of track conditions with the heat and the PJ one rubber compound on the outside of the track, or some combination of both so first off, guys. What was your your overall thoughts on the race? And you think Texas may be as declining as far as the you. The racing product is concerned. I just glad to see racing back. Obviously, there were some periods during the race where everybody Kinda just lined up for an in. There wasn't a whole lot of passing, but I think that. All things considered with the extra pitstops and everything else that were was involved. We did get to see some action wasn't terribly boring, and I enjoyed it, and then as far as if Texas is declining currently. Yes, but I don't think it's so far gone that it can't be saved. I think that what they've done to photo. UNQUOTE NASCAR has obviously been a detriment to indycar in I think that if if they can look at getting rid of that fake rubber compound. Compound, it would be better, but I also think that maybe there would be a workaround. I'm not sure what that would be, but I think it would be a possibility. You know wasn't the best stories ever by any means, but it's really hard to complain. Since Indy cars back and I think that's the most important thing is that we got to see some racing and it was a lot of fun and I. Think a lot of people will just enjoyed you know. Going on social media, and conversing with friends about it and things like that, so that was good. I I really like seeing that I think. Texas, definitely, on the decline and. As someone was saying. Put that rubber down to in the hopes that other cars will be running on the high side specifically with Nascar in the hopes that it would not artificially rubber up the top, and it just isn't there yet. And this was years three of this new turns one and two and I'm still not a fan of it so I don't know if Texas salvageable per se because that turned seems like it's always going to be a group turn so. It's kind of some. Maybe we're going to be stuck with. Not a good time to be shooting venues, but You know as definitely nod top myla's of favorite venues. That's for sure Oh. What you're saying is. WE SHOULD BRING BACK MILWAUKEE CLEVELAND. So. My on race yet. What's in? It wasn't a home run. It was amazing to see indycar back on track I really enjoyed being able to cover the race in just kind of feel like I was back in the workflow on the side of things the entire, the entire day was a lot of fun. Thank you to everybody who hung out with the live streams and. And chatted with us in between whatnot, it was it was still a decent race. There was there were some injury going on there? There was a there was a lot of storylines like Zach feature in Ed Carpenter and Conor Daly. That didn't get as much airplay as I thought they would. They got some, but not a ton. In terms of is Texas declining yeah. Definitely, not good I thought Scott. Dixon said something really interesting to justify the other day that in talking to NASCAR drivers I. Don't know if he talked to them before the race are after the race. A I can't remember now, but that the upper groove. Have come in. If some of the guys kind of activated the upper group, not necessarily ward in marbled it up, but just drove over compound a bunch, but So, Scott is is significantly smarter than me, so I'm GonNa take his word on on that so I still have some hope for Texas I. Don't Know How you can activate that compound when the cars were just sliding everywhere as soon as they got near it so. I guess I guess we'll see on that one so. Point of contention number two was everybody was frustrated with the NBC commercials, but the positive side of that was there was almost one point four million viewers, which was one of the highest rated in the race outside of the indy, five hundred in a number of years so guys since we all watched the TV version, or you guys frustrated with the commercials. I don't want to do justice thunder because I know. She knows way more about it than I. I do some and just going to kind of talk about my opinion, which is yes, it is a little frustrating and my favorite thing was saved Kerem tweeting. Wow, it's only been six always. There's already a commercial and a lot of people. They're like Yao welcome to the side of the the viewership. Were you know you get to watch TV instead of racing?.

All things considered with the extra pitstops and everything else that were was involved, we did get to see some action wasn't terribly boring and I enjoyed it, and then as far as if Texas is declining currently. Yes, but I don't think it's so far gone that it can't be saved. I think that what they've done to photo. UNQUOTE NASCAR has obviously been a detriment to indycar in in I. think that if if they can look at getting rid of that fake rubber. Rubber compound. It would be better, but I also think that maybe there would be a workaround I'm not sure what that would be, but I think it would be a possibility. You know wasn't the best stories ever by any means, but it's really hard to complain since Indy cars back and I think that's the most important thing is that we got to see some racing and it was a lot of fun and I think a lot of people will just enjoyed you know. Going on social media and conversing with friends about it and things like that, so that was good I I really like seeing that I think Texas definitely on the decline and. As, someone was saying put that rubber down to in the hopes that other cars will be running on the high side specifically with Nascar in the hopes that it would not artificially rubber up the top, and it just isn't there yet. And this was years three of this new turns one and two and I'm still not a fan of it so I don't know if Texas salvageable per se because that turned seems like it's always going to be a one group turn so. It's kind of so maybe we're going to be stuck with. Not, a good time to be shooting venues, but You know as definitely nod top myla's of favorite venues. That's for sure Oh. What you're saying is we should bring back Milwaukee or Cleveland. So, My on race yet. What's in? It wasn't a home run. It was amazing to see indycar back on track. I really enjoyed being able to cover the race in just kind of feel like I was back in the workflow on the side of things the entire, the entire day was a lot of fun. Thank you to everybody who hung out with the live streams and. And chatted with us in between whatnot, it was it was still a decent race. There was there were some injury going on there? There was a there was a lot of storylines like Zach feature in Ed Carpenter and Conor Daly that didn't get as much airplay as I thought they would. They got some, but not a ton. In terms of is Texas declining yeah. Definitely not good. I thought Scott Dixon said something really interesting to justify the other day that in talking to NASCAR drivers I don't know if he talked to them. Before the race are after the race, a I can't remember now, but that the upper groove may have come in if some of the guys kind of activated the upper group, not necessarily ward in marbled it up, but just drove over compound bunch, but. So Scott is is significantly smarter than me, so I'm GONNA. Take his word on on that so I still have some hope for Texas. I don't know how you can activate that compound when the cars were just sliding everywhere as soon as they got near it so. I guess I. Guess, we'll see on that one so. Point of contention number two was everybody was frustrated with the NBC commercials, but the positive side of that was there was almost one point four million viewers, which was one of the highest rated in the race outside of the indy, five hundred in a number of years so guys since we all watched the TV version, or you guys frustrated with the commercials I don't want to. To do justice thunder because I know, she knows way more about it than I do some and just going to kind of talk about my opinion, which is yes, it is a little frustrating and my favorite thing was saved. Kerem tweeting. Wow, it's only been six always. There's already a commercial and a lot of people. They're like Yao welcome to the side of the the viewership. You know you get to watch TV instead of racing..

"That logical? anyways ruggles Gosh. kind of thought about this one and all day. Drill blank. Really I could see a guy like Felix Rosenquist, coming a little slow out of the gate. Especially since we are starting on Oval, so my pick struggle will be Rosenquist. Go with a rookie here in Rina's vk. I don't know who to pick. I didn't give it a whole lot of thought. Because I knew I'd be going last on this one. Let's see. I think I go with Sato I don't know why it just Kinda came to me out of nowhere but I, feel like maybe he's GonNa. He's GonNa have a few bumps in the road to get where he needs to be as fair so before we move onto the next point i. did a quick ebay search. You can get a two thousand twelve James Jakes signed DWI twelve Delara Izod indycar schedule card for four, ninety nine, or you can get. James Jakes signed autograph Indycar two thousand eleven drivers suit. It's six hundred dollars, guys but. Imagine. How much fun that would be! You have to wear driver suit of James Jakes. We should all start saving our money now. You might as well put your bid in now for that, so you don't. Have One more question for you guys. Before we moved on completely from Texas in that just touched on the that practice qualifying and whatnot are all in one day. It's been a disgust item of sorts thinking of recent memory. Of Our friend, James Jakes at Las Vegas in two thousand eleven. He actually practice crashed in practice. Car was totaled and Katie ended up loaning Macara for the race itself. I'm trying to think a recent memory of any other team has done that and I'm drawing a blank bought. If you do see, let's say maybe a crash in which there is significant damage in a practice or qualifying session for maybe one of the smaller teams. Do you see them completely withdrawing? Do you see them getting a loaner car from somebody? Already see both practice and qualifying going cleanly for everybody I'm going to start with saying there's going to be something that happens in practice or qualifying. It's just it usually. Does it Texas anyway but. In this compact schedule, you might see. Somebody tried to push a little too hard to quick before. Maybe their tires are up to temperature. I don't know that's a really good question. I'm I'm a little stumped. I would like to say teams are going to be like. Here's a spare suspension part, but I don't I. Don't know it's it depends on the level of replacement they need. If it's you know maybe a suspension part like I just said or some breaks something Asher I'm probably sure though she'll share or. Maybe the DELARA INDYCAR car parts trucks got some stuff that they can use, but if it's like a tub, I think that that might be all. She wrote for the weekend. So immediately when you said. Do you see practicing qualifying during cleanly? I started shaking my head. No definitely see that there's GonNa. Be some some sort of incident I. Don't know what it'll be in who knows who will be involved, but if it's a smaller team, I see I see. Other teams can stepping up to an extent and being able to help. We'll get to some more announcements. That came out here later, but. If actively, the chassis for this year is going away so I think that people will be more likely to lend out parts because we do have a shorter season, but at the same time they don't WanNa. Lend out too much. Because then if they're driver gets in trouble during the race, they might be in trouble then so it'll be kind of a I definitely. Don't see them lending of full car. Though I was just trying to be optimistic guy here, and I will continue to be Mr optimistic and say that we will not see a major accident in practice or qualifying. Field stick my neck out for you. Guys. Don't let me down I'm really confused. You're Missouri. The last couple of weeks is troubling ever since he brought back pitfalls of action, a beacon of hope. That's all we need it. We should have figured that out a long time ago. I know I got the whole episode. I would give my negativity out, and then we get to the last little bit, and then have to share something positive. Now I'm getting all my positivity out so then I can get my negatively in the way at the end all right well on that note. Some road to Indy News. Unfortunately there will be no indy lights in two thousand and twenty combo reasons, the scheduling, obviously being kind of compact and changed. Financial reasons the change then using everything and also. Trucks online reported name any names, but there were three drivers who were unable to compete in indy lights that had already signed up for unknown reasons so unfortunately since this will be the first time since nineteen eighty six that there will be no in light so. Guys what we think will will this lead to the field becoming bigger in two thousand twenty one. We can hope so I i. don't know I. let me I just say that I feel bad for the teams who were prepared had put the time the money, the effort into getting their season ready to go in in this kind of came out of left field so I. Do feel very very bad for them but I hope that this announcement doesn't put a bad taste in people's now where they don't want to come to indy lights because they're afraid something like this might happen in the future. That would be my only real concern I. don't see that happening I. Mean you know weirder things happened, so I would like to hope that we will see a bigger field because of this. Yeah I agree I. think that it's very big unknown. However, I am confident in the teams that were here because they do have. The equipment already.

"What guys welcome to another episode of pilling par lay I am Jess and with me tonight I have host Mike and Matt. How are you guys doing? In there. Not Too bad. Sorry for the shocker. I had to be different. The very. I. I'm excited it's genesee rendered week. Matt's is about Pat of his head, so we're all getting. We are awake and we are here to talk about Texas guys. I'm a little apprehensive to say it, but I'm going to. It is race we finally are you guys excited? I'm very excited. I will get my hopes up now. Even though we got hopes up on Saint Pete when it was like forty eight hours out, but I'm I can't wait. It's going to be a great one day show. Are We sure this week? Anymore I am I am I don't know like I said. I'm a little apprehensive, but I'm going to go with it, and we're going to hope for the best before we get into Texas. Just WanNa gave a quick shutout to grant Ray Hong encoding force. They announced this week that they are expecting in November so it'll be interesting to see if that baby likes Nitro, or if at baby likes INDYCAR. Because we gotta know, it's going to be a racer with those two families. Okay, so obviously indycar back on Saturday. It's going to be a one day event a practice in the. Early afternoon I. It's like one or two qualifying following that and then the race at eight PM. It's GonNa. Be Prime Time on Network TV on NBC this time, so everybody tune in, give them good numbers. Please please please today. We did learn that Carlin will not be entering the thirty one car. They're having some sponsorship issues which given the state of the world completely understandable. Understandable, they're hoping to have them back for the rest of the season now and then we did hear that wryness VK and Alex Paulo are back in the s and should be good to go I don't think there's any crazy weird things that are going to happen other than it's all going to be crammed into one day. There is a new rule though that are I guess. I don't know whether you want to call it. Mandate whatever that. Delara I'm sorry. firestone in Indycar came up with. They are only allowing. The tires to be used for thirty five laps to keep. Things will call it interesting I. Guess So, what do you think about that? I think you know. Obviously. There's logic behind it. It's not something that indycar. firestone just did on a whim. So, there's definitely some reasoning behind it and I think it's as far as firestone. Get properly. Test the tire. They WanNa Dis Twenty, twenty two. They're running back to the one from twenty nineteen. That doesn't mean that I can't be disappointed. Though it does take a big strategy card out the window. So we're going to see kind of similar to what we saw in twenty, seventeen where? Just a new garden was destroying tires, but because they were down to. A maximum number of laps before there was competition yellow, or whatever it kind of took strategy out the window, so I'm a little disappointed, but I do see where they're coming from. I e. understand where Matt is coming from, but. At the same time, I'm very intrigued as to what guys can do with tragedy. Are we gonNA see short hits where they're GONNA? Go maybe twenty laps and not put fuel in. And what will they do under caution? I know a lot of the drivers that. I spoke with today on the various indycar media calls are saying. We don't know how it's going to be yet, but maybe the tar is only GonNa last thirty laps anyway so now it gives us a chance to put on fresh tyres, and it's really going to put. A big amount of stress on the pit crew, so I'm very intrigued how it's GONNA turn out. I don't really know how to about this to be honest. I kind of. Go back and forth I think it could add to this strategy just because you know people be watching that more than having no worry about fuel and things, but then I also see the other side of the coin icy where that it hurts it and I. Don't know, but I feel like in the long run. I think it will be good because I think it kind of puts it more in the driver's hands in I think that'll be fun to watch and again safety is paramount's doing things the right way just to make sure there isn't any tire failures. Is Good one thing to also keep in mind as far as Mike's point of maybe seeing somebody to twenty laps is that I do believe they are still doing the pit exit. It's at the exit of turn to so that's a long pit Delta between entering the pit road off of turn four, having the speed limit for the pit lane itself, but then between turn wanted to. You can only go a certain amount amount our to. That's a long pit delta so I. Wonder if we actually will see. Guys switching it up. It depends on how bad the tires are between like laps, fifteen and thirty five, so it could be really intriguing based on what the wear rates like. Yeah, the one thing I wanted to mention here before we get to our next point is this is more of a question, so yesterday Scott Dixon on the indy-car media calls that he we might see pack racing because tires are going to be more fresh for the most part out today, a the Andretti guys. I don't want to say they didn't agree at all, but they said. How can you know when we haven't actually done that yet? For the most part but. Marco. Andretti said he doesn't think it will happen. Because of the way turn. One is now at at Texas after the repaved so I don't know if you guys have any thoughts on what Scott said. Versus what Alex Rossi in and Marco said, but just want to get your input on that before we continued on high think, there's there's too many question marks going into this. When not only do we have? Tires and that. Is going to play into it on. Eve also got the Arrow screen that they haven't used a race setting yet in also not only that they haven't used it at night so I think there's GonNa be a lot of question marks, but I am hopeful that it's going to be a fun race to watch. Yeah. I think it'll be fundraise to. I'M GONNA. Lean with what the injury guys are saying because unless we are missing something with what's happened to turn one and two in the last year, as far as if grip is mysteriously befallen that turn it's it's really difficult to get packers going if you can only go one groove in in half the turns of the track, so I think it's GonNa. Make it very difficult to. To have a pack race if you have to, you, get down to single file interns. One and two and we've seen a lot of lifting there, too. which also means that drivers with a better handling car to succeed, which is not necessarily another pack racing characteristic we see so I'll side with the android again that one. Yeah, I think I agree with you mad there. It's it's. It's definitely tough to tell, but we will continue on what were questioned before we get into predictions, my I've thought a lot about it myself I'm you guys have also I? Didn't give you were pre warning that I was gonNA. Throw this in there. But what are you guys feeling going into this? Knowing that a lot of these guys don't have much. Were any experience on ovals is? Is it I mean. What do you guys think about how that's going to play out? It's going to be interesting. I think we've seen the only driver out. There has never raised on mobile..

Marco Andretti said he doesn't think it will happen. Because of the way turn one is now at at Texas. After the repaved so I don't know if you guys have any thoughts on what Scott said. Versus what Alex Rossi in and Marco said, but just want to get your input on that before we continued on high think, there's there's too many question marks going into this. Not only do we have? Tires and that. Is going to play into it on Eve also got the Arrow screen that they haven't used in a race setting yet in also not only that they haven't used it at night so I think there's GonNa be a lot of question marks, but I am hopeful that it's going to be a fun race to watch. Yeah, I think it'll be fundraise to. I'M GONNA. Lean with what the injury guys are saying because unless we are missing something with what's happened to turn one and two in the last year, as far as if grip is mysteriously befallen that turn it's it's really difficult to get packers going if you can only go one groove in in half the turns of the track, so I think it's GonNa make it very difficult to. To have a pack race if you have to, you get down to single file interns one and two and we've seen a lot of lifting there, too. which also means that drivers with a better handling car to succeed, which is not necessarily another pack racing characteristic. We see so. I'll side with the android again that one yeah I. Think I agree with you mad there. It's it's. It's definitely tough to tell, but we will continue on what were questioned. Before we get into predictions, my I've thought a lot about it myself I'm you guys have also I didn't give? You were pre warning that I was GONNA. Throw this in there. But what are you guys feeling going into this? Knowing that a lot of these guys don't have much. Were any experience on ovals is? Is it I mean. What do you guys think about how that's going to play out? It's going to be interesting. I think we've seen the only driver out. There has never raised on mobile.

"So I think this decisions little overdue. I would done it about two years ago if I were them. Giving the mistakes piling up but I'll have more thoughts on that later in the episode Moving on we did have the ninth round of the Pit Lane parlayed Grand Prix League at the XBOX series. We were at Austria last night. Jake neely won his fourth race of the season and three of the last four races fall by Colin Taylor and myself So unfortunately the VATTEL news wasn't enough to propel me to victory so hoping it would give me a little bit of extra motivation. I don't know why but So we got silverstone next week and then our all star as which. I'm super psyched for will explain more of the all stories next week. Mike. How the PS four race go so? It's a little bit of a recovery for me. After few bad weeks. Think David Lighting one again. I know at this point is pretty much no surprise there and Mister French finished in second and then I finished in third so it was a lot of fun at Montreal. Really cool track then granted smell on Sunday. I did come out on top victorious. David lighting was about six inches from being passed me to turns from the end at authors or Mount Panorama. Whatever you WANNA call it so that was a Lotta Fun. We had a couple more guys joined the Sunday night. League so is week. We have forty minutes at Monza so a little bit easier than bathurst. Munza sounds like a wreck waiting to happen also for the xbox leave just wanted to give a quick shot we actually did ever. I Twenty car grid so that was really cool. So shouts everybody's sign up the league. It's been a lot of fun and everybody's in the PS four grants moly. Thanks for joining. It's been a good time. Just some quick items to note here before we kind of round out the episode today. Formula One is is expected to announce their schedule soon and it is believed that Austria is going to be hosting not only the first race on July fifth but also the second race on a separate weekend so July twelfth so back to back weekends at Austria this is according to German paper Bild And then the believe it was something like seventeen races at twelve venues or something along those lines so expect something soon from formula so we can start marking up our counters to look forward to those races. It was reported that Fernando Alonzo is unlikely to do a full season of indycar twenty twenty. Obviously those rumors were put to bed in about January February. Given the circumstances of where we're at right now it kind of opened up a new Pandora's box of Fred Watch. We will keep you apprised of if we hear anything as far as for no Lonzo concerned and then finally on top of what we announced beginning the episode with Indycar going back to Texas Morgan News on that front is that team. Most teams are actually back to work at this point prepping for Texas and other races. This season I know the INDYCAR Media Team has been doing some team previews and whatnot so today Tuesday. They were giving us kind of a back or behind the scenes tour of Carlin showing showing us. What THEIR GARAGES? And what? Now we're looking like so good news to have looks like most of the INDYCAR teams putting their personal back to work so that we can get ready for the season. Yeah excited it is now less than a month away fingers crossed but I am also tired. That Alonzo is still talking about a full season or not a full season. I feel like this is like the Danika thing. That's just never going to go away when we talked about. Danika for the I eighty episodes before her indy. Five hundred appearance with that being said. I'd WanNa give a quick shout out to few team pit lane members this week. Let's give a shout out to George Butts Jess's dead and last but not least carry him so with that and thank you to everybody who's continued to listen to all the episodes in whatnot we put out. It's been unto chat with people about the episodes in about racing as we navigate these challenging times. So with that. It's time for the facts game. Yes we still don't have a more creative name for that. And I put very little effort into narrowing down three facts so this might not be very easy. I am a twenty one year old driver but not a rookie. I have won championships in Indy Lights. And the prototype class and I heard fact here and I was released from my contract right before the two thousand nine hundred season started. This is name Ryan with ladder Toward your effort that was very poor but yes it does law almost as much as your effort in the three facts yet. You know to be honest with you. As you're reading off your third day I was rambling last minute. I had a busy day with a couple interviews that that we did today and just totally spaced that. It was my turn to do this. So yes sometimes even I forget. I think it's be a new driver's name as allowed adult Lord. That should be your like Xbox username. Whatever you call it Gamekeeper Greg. I think you showing my age so with that we are going to bring back pitfalls this week. And now it's time for pit-lane parlays pitfalls the week I'll it makes me so happy I mean don't get me wrong. I'm I'm all for being positive in these pretty dark times but to get the pitfall people and whatnot again. It's just a hobby of mine. I don't know why So again thanks to everybody's been listening show to Mike. He's actually done a lot of interviews and whatnot last couple of weeks. I really hold down the fort there. I Jess has been able to jump into a couple as well during our her morning slash afternoon. I'm stock staring computer so unfortunately unable to join. Join one of these days but yes thanks again to everybody's been listening Hope you all staying safe out there and doing well So I got my positive bit. They're done with knocking. Move into the negative so my pitfall is related to Ferrari fans. Obviously we just discussed the battle being released and you would think that's the Vattel had one seventy percent of the races and three championships over the last five years given the comments that were being made. How could you do this to you? Guys give him back cars. You set them up for failure. He's one of the best of all time. What are you thinking? He's got the most wins. What are you doing I mean? Have they been paying attention for? Let's say allies like three years when he's been repeatedly spending on his own crashing into his may crashing another cars throwing away a winning. Germany winding winding getting team mourners. I I get fashion as fans and if I was a loyal fan like let's say I was a huge fan of just new garden and Joseph was doing pretty good work but also shooting himself in the foot a couple times. He got fired from team. Penske yeah I might be a little upset too but I would also take a step back and say you know like that's somewhat justified a little bit so for Vattel fans to kind of blatantly. Ignore some of the false that he's had the last couple of years and some the team orders that he got specifically within the last year to to even elevate his standing in the championship. Standings that much more think. It's a little unfair to be Matt Ferrari in this situation and I came out today and said that it wasn't because of money as far as why they can get a contract figured out not sure. I'm buying that. I think he's getting paid something like something absurd. I don't want to throw out a number without googling it real quick. I swore owes sixty million euros a year or something ridiculous like that ugly without while Mike next one. But some I've pitfall is Ferrari fans for overreacting to Ferrari's announcement that their parting ways with. That'll let me ask you this Switch up our normal pitfall style here and ask you a question mid pitfall would you even if it was just for say the five hundred or one race welcomes Abeche veteran. Indy-car I would absolutely I. I have no problem with that'll as a person or the driver. I just think he's overrated. And I think it would be a huge part wakeup call and part relief for him to come try indycar just because it is a little humbling to go from the second best team in the top open wheel series to. Let's say Ed Carpenter Racing Where you're jumping into a car. That's not the best in the grid. Plus everybody else is pretty much similar in strength and whatnot so to me. It would be something cool to see. Just see like how he does stack up like let's say he comes over here and does really well. It might change my opinion of that much a little bit. Because in my opinion he's had two years of his twelve year career. Roy hasn't had a good car saw. It's hard to see where battle stacks up in history. Just because he's had an unbelievable car for almost the entire career fair and I do agree. I think it'd be cool I'd be curious to how he would do with. The fans. Alonzo took really well to the fans after being kind of secluded death one for so many years so be cool to see how he handled that but my pitfall is in the Nascar world and not the fact the race this weekend. I am intrigued to see how everything will play out over the next fourteen days. With all the races they have but in order to determine with no qualifying in order to determine the starting grid positions one twelve and thirteen and twenty four and so forth are determined by a random draw from charter teams in those positions in team owner points. Okay understand that. So that goes all the way down the grid then it. Kinda changes for darling. The Second Darlington race which I think is next Wednesday. It's the first half of the field than the second half field than to make it even more confusing with all of these rules in stuff. They're throwing in here. There is now the really annoying competition caution. Being used at utilized at Darlington I believe for the May twenty seven race or maybe for the COQ six hundred. The article is a little confusing. It's on motorsport dot com break down very well but it's just it's just a lot of confusion for fans especially maybe casual fans that are are tuning in and they just don't understand. Why is this guy? Starting here? No wave around free pass for the first one flag down. The pit cycle repeats. There's just there's just a lot to break down there and I don't know if that's going to play well on TV especially for casual fans who are just tuning in for something to watch. They might not understand what's going on. I don't know I mean given the rules. They've come out with. I think NASCAR is under the impression that everybody who watches their sport has an Iq of like three hundred ninety seven. Yeah confusing article to read. I if I took more time to read it but the Coca Cola Coca Cola. Six hundred will hold pole qualifying but the race at the same track later that week will be based on the results from the six hundred owning the same one. The Twenty and twenty one to forty grid position inversion utilized Darlington. Like that's ends right there. I'm just kind like not sure what's going on anymore. You lost me. You went left and I know it's not the writers fault it's IT'S NASCAR's rules or whatever but very using yes xfinity one. Where if you didn't fit the first time that you put it the second time then you.

"texas motor speedway" Discussed on Pit Lane Parley

"Welcome to another episode of Pit Lane Parlay. I M. Your host might joke joining me. Today is matt is offer the night because she is working like if seven hour shifts so she got the day off. Sorry about your PTO. Requests has been denied again. I don't work that hard. Unfortunately so just as definitely working much harder than me. Today it's fair same hair so with that being said we do. WanNa pass along our well wishes and condolences to the curry family. As Larry Curry passed away this weekend at Age. Sixty eight worked closely with menards racing to help them achieve the great speed. They got at indy for awhile. Also worked with a vision racing drier and Ryan bold last couple years worked for harding racing's so I hope his family is hanging in there in our thoughts and well wishes are are with everybody. Your Larry was very good at finding speed for cars. Menards blew out of the way in the nineties with a lot of the pay showed at Indianapolis and reliability was noise there but speed was always there so it was awesome to see them do so. Well and Larry was a big part of that so just wishing his family the best during this difficult time and hopefully we can all get through together and hopefully they remember him well because he was well liked around the product so with that being said some positive news. We can officially say. Indy-car is back on June six so yea to that the genesis three hundred is is what is now called because it's been shortened hundred laps down in Texas. It is a one day weekend. So there's a two hour practice session followed about two and a half hours later by qualifying and the race around eight. Thirty eight forty five. Am Eastern time on NBC ascends so met any initial reactions to the news coming out. It's about time it's just give me something to look forward to for sure it's Interesting to see what the layout is. We'll kind of dive into that in a second here but just to see that concrete. -Ly that it's going to be back no fans for obvious reason but just to see a race back on the schedule. Look forward to figuring out who long fantasy indycar. Kinda just like normal It feels really good so I'm really looking forward to it. Yeah I agree. Definitely exciting to be back We will be covering it from our houses so I won't be won't be down there. Most likely they are limiting like NASCAR. Everybody to just a handful of working media down there. But are you little bummed? It's not on the regular. Nbc VERSUS NBC. So something my wife is trying to teach me is that I can't say the word but so I can't say yeah I'm really excited for the race and yeah I'm really excited to make my fantasy newhart picks but because that obviously kind of takes away everything I just said but I'm a little bomb that this isn't going to be on NBC. I understand that. Nbc has their ways. I'm not I believe that Saturday night live is an actually producing anything. Live right now in the studio or anything like that correct. I have no idea but I think you're right and I understand that. Eighty four percent of America probably doesn't care about racing but just put something on. Nbc during this time you regardless of whatever sport it is I think would be really cool. I mean we got people tuning into Belarus and soccer and South Korean baseball and whatnot. So people are kind of thriving for any sport. They can get right now so I think putting on NBC's are not putting on NBC. A missed opportunity but I guarantee there some obscure reason for it. I don't know full ever figure that out or it'll be public but yeah I definitely am a little bit bummed about that. Yeah I understand what you're saying. That makes a lot of sense. She's very smart. It sounds like happy anniversary by the way make you owe as I mentioned. Not only as the race shorten the weekend short into one day. So it's a two hour practice. I think early in the afternoon qualifying mid afternoon early evening. The Racist Is At night? So what are your thoughts on the new schedule end shortening of the race? I'm all right with it again. I I'm pretty sure there's probably a scientific reason that a simpleton don't understand as to why the race was shortened. A little bit doesn't make too much sense to me but again I'm happy with the fact that racing's back and if I get twenty eight length less laps of racing. I'm really not gonNA cry about it. It's just good to be back and I think the whole practice qualifying and racing in one day. Given the circumstances right now is actually pretty smart with safety in mind and whatnot. Not Having people around too often they can just get to the track race. Go home and so as that's concerned. I think it's a pretty good idea. I think it has to do with a couple of things. There is obviously much less crew than the normally so if there is a a repair they've got less time and less resources also putting everything in one day the first race back after what. I don't know a nine month. Layoff at this point. Maybe maybe it's a it's a good thing. I don't Only forty laps shorter. So I'm I'm more than okay with that to get racing back and we've seen the one day thing before Pocono. Last year ended up being essentially a one day or was it two years ago when it rained remember with some time recently and obviously Texas had the unique circumstance where it rained into head to do the race like three months later. So it's not like the first time this one day smush schedule has ever been done before now. It hasn't and then one follow up question I had for you. That was brought up in our members. Chad was are you at all concerned that the first race of the seasons at a place like Texas as far as the speed in the Oval. I UNDERSTAND THE CONCERN. But no not really. These are all professional drivers. I think everybody is aware of that. And I don't think you'll see any crazy antics that something I talked to James Central Cliff about the other day as you guys probably heard. He doesn't seem too concerned about it. So I will just take other professional people's advice on Zach featuring talked about a little bit after him and I chatted last week and he's not that concerned about it. I understand you know it's it's it's a setup track to make your debut on after a long layoff or as a rookie your first race. But I think it'll be more than okay. Yeah I agree and there was some chatter. As far as the safety crowd was concerned about hosting the first race at road Americans said drivers can get up to speed and as I pointed out in the member. Shad that to me wrote. America is every bit as dangerous as a high-speed oil given how fast you go how tight it is there how little to no paved runoff. There is is very easy to make a mistake there or if you do something like shredded tire through the tank. That's GONNA lead to a massive accident so there isn't unless you can get streak or like Saint Pete to me is perfect because you very rarely see a nasty crash at Saint Petersburg gets everybody kind of in the groove and whatnot and then you go to a place like Barbara that can cause them have it because again it's another tight little to no run off track so Texas wouldn't be my first choice but I don't think at this point there would be an ideal. I track just because the next scheduled street Toronto. And who knows if that's going to happen. So it's you're kind of a mixed bag no matter what direction you take. Yeah you could almost say that every track in a way has it's spots or you're a little Safety like you said. Outside of maybe a street course. So overall excited yeah. I'm definitely to or we're going to have to do our new season review episode again in the next few weeks. So we're GONNA start doing our research and I have to remember all those questions that we came up with. Yeah it's I can't like we said I can't wait to contradict myself like eighty times like an idiot moving on so ripe for the xbox race last night. Got just some fantastic news in that Sebastian. Vattel and Ferrari have mutually agreed to part ways after this season whenever it ends or begins So after the end of the season they are going their separate ways as they could not agree on a contract extension so the twenty twenty one. Ferrari lineup should be something like Charles Leclair and then a new driver to Ferrari allegedly Mike. What they were doing this without Jesse because Jesse Formula Mike. What are your overall reactions to this? I'm not I'm actually surprised. I thought all of this back and forth. We've heard between a veteran. Ferrari over the last few weeks would just be more smoke and mirrors like it always seems to be with Ferrari but like you. That'll hasn't done much a couple years really. I know he's got some wins but he's never been to me championship caliber for the most part. And actually as of twenty three minutes ago when we were recording racer dot com and Kris. Medlen say that it is Carlos Sainz poised to replace session federal so Matt. I'm GonNa put you on the spot. This article just came out right probably before you and I started recording. What are your thoughts on Carlos Sainz? He was one of the names of float to the top of my list. When I saw the list of drivers who are being considered you know we saw Daniel. Carter was the other big one that I thought. Maybe we get it. So Signs Ricardo people are starting to Holcombe Berg Mix Schumacher Alonzo is being thrown out there. Another Round Fred. Watch but yeah signs. I think given what he's been able to do last couple of years and it's weird. The Path is career taken so if he does end up actually end up at Ferrari. That's such a big win for him. So I like it I like Carlos Sainz. I have nothing negative to say about him. Give me four years. Nick apply rack up a resume of things to say about him. That are aren't so nice but at this present moment I think he would be a great fit for the team and I would very much Like to see that happen I agree. I think it'd be a good fit there so I am curious to see like you. I thought it might be Ricardo but I think sinuses a couple of years younger so they were going with a little bit more of a youth at Ferrari for a change that works and then my action. That'll yeah never did much for me. At Ferrari per se I think at Red Bull is one of those things where he had a really good car and he did manage to beat his teammate. Who is kind of worse for wear for some some races at a time but at Ferrari? Yeah I mean he shot himself in the foot plenty of times. He got awarded plenty of opportunities as far as team orders There's plenty of times we're drivers were told to SIP SIP.

Also worked with a vision racing drier and Ryan bold the last couple years worked for harding racing's so I hope his family is hanging in there in our thoughts and well wishes are are with everybody. Indy-car is back on June six so yea to that the genesis three hundred is is what is now called because it's been shortened two hundred laps down in Texas. So people are kind of thriving for sport. They can get right now so I think putting on NBC's are not putting on NBC. A missed opportunity. But I guarantee there some obscure reason for it. America is every bit as dangerous as a high-speed ole given how fast you go how tight it is there. How little to no paved runoff. "We sent my department commander to Texas Motor Speedway where he writes there with Amvest, please stand Trump. He raced in Louisville Kentucky Motor Speedway sent our sons commander, Harold Collins over and he records. Rented us there. And they they love it. They love what he does. And. Got if I had a piece of old God knock on it. Because maybe possibly going not this weekend, of course. But next weekend go to the Coliseum. Bristol on both be racing in Bristol. So and he's got his truck wrapped just like he has four with Amvest, please stand and we're actually going to have him here. He's gonna be here tomorrow even and for a day and spend even with us. So he may get here early to we can get him on for a couple of minutes tied crate, great. So yeah. Matter of fact, the new the new secretary did great yesterday. Yes. He laughed Brian. I was gonna bring that up. Yes. Yeah. Supposedly, but what do grad out, Mr. Wilkie, Mr. Wilkie left? I while he was here in our in our lunch and we had for him at new yesterday. He signed the IMO you memorandum of understanding with us of our he'll team. So he's going to support us on that. And that was a big step of doing that in here, you know, at the convention when he when he came in, and he's he was. The members seem to like in the talk to him. You know, we actually had our district commanders here, which is all fifty states. The district commanders panel all those states here to ask him questions, and he answered them just so he's he's a very intelligent individual. And I think he's going to be a big asset for us. And we we did supporting this year, we had the we went to his confirmation hearing with the department of veterans affairs, and he did an outstanding job with them. It was. Mr. tester told him. He says you must have had all this memorized. Because he said this is not your first rodeo, they didn't stump him on anything. They ask him. I mean, he did very well on that. So what would be one of your most fondest memories of this year, something that that you'll you'll hold onto the rest of your life?.

Firefighters gain on massive California wildfire, six dead

"Seven. Forty now at k. l. i. f. seventeen major wildfires burning across California consuming to date data combined two hundred thousand. Acres Jim Roope is watching all those, fires and he joins us live from Los Angeles with the very latest good, morning, Jim And a very good. Morning the deadliest fire so far the, car fire six people confirmed dead to firefighters or at. Least a firefighter and a civilian contractor in a. Four residents including three members of one family a seventy year old woman and. Her two small great grandchildren and then yesterday in the Ferguson fire the? One that. Is responsible for. Closing seventy national park a second firefighter was killed by, a falling tree so you have a total of eight deaths in those two hundred thousand. Acres how are they doing in the in the battle to contain that fire it's rough it really is this is. And we've heard this past couple of years the word unprecedented in the way the fire behavior. Is and and we hear it again but. This time I'm hearing anger in the frustration of firefighters simply because they just can't seem to figure it out once. They get a handle on the direction, of fire may be going because of the weather the fire itself creates in, us More intense, because it, is so dry, out there at that explodes in its behavior so. When they predict it's going in one direction, the explosion causes it to, break in at, one point into three different fronts in run in three different directions and one of the reasons why this, family was overrun by flames there, were no evacuation orders in that neighborhood because firefighters didn't really. Know that the fire was going to, go in that direction so they are angry too long. Along with their frustration at least the firefighters are. Because they can't seem to get a handle on the way this thing is. Going there's a little bit of good news however last night they told? Us they're. Up to about. Seventeen percent containment which is great it's been in the, low single digits for nearly a week and now they have double digit containment now but. That's still means the fire is mostly out of control top of the hour news we heard just a heart wrenching. Sound bite from my grandfather who I guess escaped the fire but couldn't get his grandkids out. Of the house and it was It's just I mean really it was. Heartbreaking heartbreaking yeah Just listening? To, that can you tell us your story Ed blitz oh he's the husband of the. Seventy year old woman who in. The two great grandchildren he went out to get supplies he went, to the store and as he was at, the store he got a call from his wife. Saying we. See the fire coming toward the back door he got he. Said he said he dropped everything and headed right back he helped one man who was who suffered. Some burned, in any ran to get into the neighborhood and he he claimed at least we heard over the weekend that he, wasn't allowed to get back in the the law enforcement. What let him, pass the line to get in there and he said you probably heard any audio. That he talked to his grandson up until the time his grandson great grandson rather five year old James. Up until the, point that he could, not speak anymore, he was saying grandpa come. Get us. Come get us and it was just, it it, is it is, a heartbreaking, piece? Of audio two here. But That's that man story he said he blames himself he didn't take care. Of business he says he should not left his family in harm's way but no one knew the fire. Was heading in, that direction that's part, of that frustration, on the erotic fire behavior. We were. Just talking about exactly right all right, thank you, Jim Jim. Roope in. California Seven forty three now Cowboy's quarterback Dak Prescott maybe you heard. This over the weekend he he is. Standing by his owner, Jerry Jones said yes The he, said football. Players should be standing for the national anthem not taking a knee said the anthem is not the. Time or the place for protests never protest I'd never protest during the anthem and I don't think that's the time where the venue. To do so the game of football, is always brought me such a piece, and I think it does the same for a lot of. People a lot of people playing the, game a lot of people watching the game a lot of people that have any. Impact of the game so when you. Bring such a controversy To the to the stadium to the, field to the game takes away it, takes away from that takes away from the joy into the. The love that football brings a lot He acknowledged that social injustice issues exist in our country and says it is time to act for me I'm all about. Making change making a difference and I. Think this whole Nolan and all that was all about just. Raising awareness and the fact that we're still talking about social injustice years later I think we've. Got to that point I think we've proved and we, know that the social injustice so I'm. Taking a next step that whatever that may be for action and not just kneeling I've always believe standing up for what I. Believe in and that's what I'm gonna continue to and somebody put the question to Ezekiel Elliott as well Coats Anyone else who Dallas we stand So a little bit hard, to hear there but you heard the end Zeke saying we're the Dallas. Cowboys America's team we stand. For the anthem so to to of your boss tells you to do what they're, saying, is. Seven forty five let's get an. Update on traffic now. Here's Bill Jackson this traffic is sponsored by Page Publishing at the high five on the six thirty five eastbound ramp to northbound seventy five central an accident still blocks that left lane and on six thirty. Five westbound past midway it's a wreck in the way at least one lane blocked there yet near DFW airport on one eighty three eastbound aim, and Carter boulevard, an accident blocks the left lane and that's not backed. Up into Bedford MIR de your. Texas Motor Speedway I thirty five w. Remain shut down northbound approaching one fourteen that's all due. To a crash think about one of those alternates either highway three seventy seven or FM one fifty six to..
