"Eric greitens embarrassing fantasies of political violence. By Phil clay, clay a national book award winner is the author of missionaries and teaches at Fairfield university's MFA program. His new book is uncertain ground citizenship in an age of endless war. There's always been something a little pathetic with how Eric greitens publicizes himself. After the Osama bin Laden raid, he went on cable show after cable show Hawking his memoir and explaining how seals, like himself operate, but always forgetting to mention that he'd never actually served with a SEAL Team in combat. Later, when he ran ads for governor in Missouri, he again highlighted his seal background, despite pushback from the seal community over how they felt he was misrepresenting himself. He succeeded in that campaign only to lose the governorship amid allegations of blackmail, campaign finance violations, and felony invasion of privacy charges. But now that he's running for Senate, he's reached a sad Nader with his latest ad in which he leads a gun toting camouflage wearing team into a suburban house to go rhino hunting. In other words, hunting and killing Republicans who aren't sufficiently hard line. You can even purchase a rhino hunting permit on his website for $25, playing with advocating political violence is clearly an attempt to generate horrified backlash and perhaps to distract from recent allegations from his ex-wife that brightens abused her and their children. But greitens has a long history of successfully leveraging American attitudes toward the military and service of his own projects. First, in a nonprofit world, and then in politics, and so what's interesting about his recent campaigning is not what it says about him as a candidate, but about what he thinks his constituency wants from former navy seals. And it isn't defending Americans from foreign terrorists. He's also not alone during the Senate campaign in Georgia, Texas House representative Dan Crenshaw cut a much more expensively produced ad in the style of a marvel movie where, after jumping from a helicopter, he lands on a car in Georgia filled with two members of antifa and proceeds to attack them. The cringe inducing performance shared similar images of militarized politics and a hatred of domestic rivals, though this flirtation with violence didn't help him when a group of far right protesters shouting eye patch McCain assaulted his campaign staff at Republican Party of Texas. It's a common enough thing in the wake of failed wars, such as Iraq and Afghanistan for people to look for internal enemies. We were stabbed in the back has been the rallying cry of so many disappointed veterans through the centuries. This feeling pours out into a state of general indictment, wrote German World War I veteran Ernst junger in 1932 into a literature of the blind who are constantly in search of those responsible. When things go awry in your country, you either have the fortitude to look in the mirror or you hunt for scapegoats. Gratins used to take a different approach. "Extraordinary move by texas democrats to fight back against republicans assault on democracy in that state democratic state. Senator carol alvarado stood on the senate floor and spoke for fifteen hours without any breaks to block the chamber from passing. It's voter suppression bill. Here's what she said in the closing. Where all the so called fraud. The people are still waiting for someone to actually demonstrate real evidence of fraud. Where does it end today. It says p. one tomorrow be some other manufacturers crisis to justify the systematic chipping away our voting rights and little by little every session. We just keep chipping away. To one day we wake up and realize our democracy is recognized. A was it fifteen hours of talking on the senate floor to try and hold back the damage that republicans were doing senate. Republicans rammed through their restrictions. Anyway the bill is now stalled in the texas house thanks to the democrats denied republicans. The quorum needed to pass it for the third time. The texas house democrats are facing arrest for their continued refusal to return to the chamber. The house sergeant at arms has been going door to door. Issuing civil arrest warrants. Today house speaker dade falen spokesperson told. Nbc news that the sergeant arms deputized members of texas law enforcement to assist in rounding up the texas democrats and bring them to the chamber. More than forty of the texas democrats tried to fight those arrest warrants in court and now the end lacey is calling on the justice department to investigate whether these warrants violate the civil rights of the texas democrats joining us now derrick johnson. The president and the ceo of the n. double. Acp derek. good to see you again. Thank you for being with us. Let's talk about this philosophically. The the idea that these texas democrats are holding up this vote they have left in. Some cases left the state in order to stop something that they say is unconstitutional because it will take away. Voting the ability to vote from people and for that they are being threatened with arrest by the governor and the sergeant at arms seems very determined interested in actually having them arrested. Tell me what your thoughts are on this As if you decide. I'm not gonna work today. i don't feel good at all. Mike values that's been held there. I'm not coming and msnbc symbol enforcement to your house to say no you're gonna come to the studio hold you captive until you interview. Guest is outrageous is a form of intimidation. That's what we're asking the justice department to to look into what other night. This is even legal. I commend the members of the texas house representative. I commend those centers in the state senate who stood there for fifteen hours. I know senator royce west. I was organizing for the sitters leave. They felt too short a denying a quarter in the senate. We must continue to fight and fight because the rights of individuals are state and quite frankly. The quality of our constitution is being challenged by individuals. Who want to see january six payout over and over the denial of the peaceful transfer power in the inability of individuals be deemed legitimate citizens by being able to cast ups. Let's divide how this is breaking down. Texas is the epicenter right we. It's the place we are focused on. We know that there's not sets in arizona and michigan and pennsylvania and georgia but texas is where the energy is focused on the resistance to one of these state laws. A plate of straight state laws that would reduce voting rights. Then we've got the united states senate. That's now talking about two different bills. One of which mansion is on board. Four one which reverend warnock is is working to get going. You've got the summer of action in which you're seeing a number of people get arrested reminiscent of the sixties faith leaders and protesters and you've got the president. The texans have said we need the senate and we need the president to do something. We cannot hold out forever. One day they will arrest us one day. We'll have to go home. What have you heard from the president and from joe mansion and others. That gives you some sense that this might end the right way. But i'm concerned that we have not put the same level of priority ramp The rights of citizens to fully engage in our electric. This is not about partisanship. This is about supporting it. Upholding the constitution. I am concerned as we celebrate the huge infrastructure package. It we should. We should commend administration for that but we also recognize particular africa humidity that the new deal policies as great a piece of legislation. They were all of. Those legislation created structural barriers for african americans. So as we celebrate on one side we recognized unless and until this administration the senate prioritize access to voting protecting our right to vote. We will fall behind as a nation. We will offer behind as a community so i don't get into the conversation which vehicle should be used or what procedure should be moved away in it done tech the rights of voters the flu participate in the upcoming elections. They're good to see you again as always thank you for joining us sir. Derek johnson is the president of the nwea. Double acp. Coming up republican. Lawmakers in tennessee are asking.

What's the What's the conversation that's been taking place as you recognize now that there's no quorum and no action to take place on the House floor. Well, we're essentially waiting. We're here in Austin ready to go to work. Uh, and another governor said he'll call as many special sessions as it takes all the way up until January, 2023, which is when the next regular legislative session is scheduled to begin. In order to get the job done, and it's really that simple. You know, this is just about showing up to work and getting the job done for the state of Texas. There are so many items on this special session call that we owe it not just to our constituents but to all Texans to get done. And this is this is such a simple issue, and I don't understand why the Democrats have chosen to not show up for work because they have fled the state before. But it's been over redistricting. As far as I know, this is the very first time in history that they have refused to show up for work over policy policy disagreements, not redistricted. Democrats like yourself to get you back to the House floor. Of course, since you fled the state, you are out of state jurisdiction. Still, any thoughts on that procedural vote and what it says. You know what Am I would be proud I would be honored. I would be a privilege to be arrested and go to jail to fight for Texans right to vote. And it's not a joke. It is not. I'm not trying to bluster. I would be honored to be imprisoned in order to protect Texans right to vote. This is not a game for a lot of us in the minority community. This is life and death. If we are silenced if we cannot can no longer express our opinion, have our right to vote. Um and we were invisible to the rest of society were invisible to the government. They can firmly ignore us and to just treat us like dirt as they would want to do. I guess. Technically, I should point out that you would not be imprisoned but sent back to the House floor unless you characterize that as imprisonment, and I guess that's not what the Emperor statement that's not. "Outs time for the last word. With lots donald. Anything arts rachel and while you were working We have breaking news on the biden infrastructure. Package the senate budget committee has unanimously democrats only on the reconciliation version of it. They have unanimously agreed tonight. the senate democrats on the budget committee to a three point. Five trillion dollar package Then chairman chairman bernie sanders will be getting through the budget committee. It includes met a medicare expansion for dental vision. Care and vision care. This is really the the. These numbers are extraordinary. But but the actual details of what's in this legislation include things that people have fought made sense for decades literally decades but never saw the opportunity. But here here. We are on the on the democrats only bill tonight Budget committee unanimous agreement. That means it's gonna make it out of the budget committee. Mark warner represents what you would probably consider the mansion wing of the budget committee bernie. Sanders represents The other side of the democratic party a they're all in agreement so lawrence on a scale of zero. Nothing's happening to one hundred. Joe biden is signing the legislation. Where does that put us on. The number line In terms of the end versus the beginning. But that this is what it's way up there of for this for this package of the bipartisan. Package is its own track and is holding together. A remarkably well present biden is going to do something truly extraordinary tomorrow. He's actually going to go to the senate democrats luncheon in the capitol tomorrow something. He went through for thirty six years as a senator. I know he went a few times as vice president. I personally. I never saw the president do that in either party When i was working in in the senate so it. It's a really rare thing. But i can almost feel joe biden's eagerness to get up there and really lock in the deal in the full senate The full democratic side of the senate tomorrow after what they've accomplished in the budget committee tonight. So you think that this gets us closer to the end then the beginning. I mean there's been so much talk so much about every procedural step here. And i sort of feel a little bit gun shy about which one of these new steps matters but on this one since it's democrats only you think this is. This is this is. This is a close to the dardel. The only suspense. If it is that that you're waiting to hear is what does joe manchin think. He's not a member of the budget committee. But you know mark warner and joe. Manchin are together on that bipartisan. Version of the bill They're very close together. I doubt that the budget committee would have ignored what joe mansion thinks in coming to this agreement but even if they did even if joe mansion as this proceeds wants to in some ways reduce the number. That's still possible. Within the way this moves. But i have to. I have to believe that. Joe mansions interests were probably very strongly represented by mark warner on that committee. Because what you wanna do is come out of the budget committee with the with the shape of what's really going to be and that information's available to you You know bernie. Sanders is in a meeting every week. It's this is a brilliant construction by chuck. Schumer i think but He's a meeting. Every week of bernie sanders with joe mansion in chuck schumer so called leadership team. Which at that table has joe manchin. Elizabeth warren bernie sanders has ten senators Who need to be in a room together for chuck schumer to understand. Exactly what is possible with all fifty members. It's a really good representative group of what you need to have on the senate floor so i really have to believe with all of that. Communication that bernie sanders and joe manchin have every week The chairman sanders knew what he had to do to get all not just the unanimous vote of his committee but all fifty senate votes on the senate floor. Hey thank you for explaining that. I did not understand that at all before you just explained it and be thank you for letting me interview you about this on your evening you some real estate. You can get it back from me tomorrow. That's my favorite thing. You know i would come to do that. Thank you rachel thank you ll arts. John busey and his wife. Molly didn't want to bring their seventeen month. Old daughter bradley on an airplane this week. Bradley's too young to be vaccinated for coronavirus and two tiny to wear a mask so they decided to drive the washington. Post reports quote busey. Got the call sunday afternoon. After grabbing four hours of sleep following the nearly twenty four hour house committee hearing that had finally adjourned around seven. Thirty a m scores of texans had testified against the voting bill but it passed along party lines. He and his wife loaded their jeep wrangler. And we're on the road within two hours and spent another twenty three hours driving straight through to washington alternating driving and baby duties. Texas representative john. Busey's wife molly is twenty seven weeks pregnant. They did not want to have to make that drive. None of the texas democrats who left the state to deny the texas house representatives. A quorum wants to be in washington tonight but they have made the trip to washington to resist. What president joe biden today called an assault on democracy when vice president. Kamala harris met with texas democrats today. She gave a standing ovation. And then said this courage and commitment and patriotism that you all have evidenced by your actions in addition to your work and your words and i know what you have done comes with brave sacrifice both personal and political. And you are doing this in support and indefens- of some of our nation's highest ideals afternoon. Texas democrats met with sent majority leader chuck schumer. Who said everything is on the table. I was his line everything on the table. When it comes to passing voting rights legislation in the senate which means a change in the senate sixty vote threshold must also be on the table. "To work. Texas governor Greg Abbott, responding last night to Texas House Democrats, leaving the special session and in many cases the state of Texas. Among those who went to Washington D. C Last night is House Democrat Penny. Morale is Shaw, who's on the line with us. So is Texas representative Garnet Coleman, who remains in the state but remains off of the House floor. I'm going to ask this of both of you. Let me start with representative Coleman. The governor characterizes this move as a refusal to show up for work and do what you were elected to do. Does he have a point? Balderdash? We are working. We're representing our constituents. Who believe in a free and accessible access to the ballot. And if this is how we can represent them. That's the best thing that we can do. It's not not working is actually working. To make sure that they represented in the most vigorous way that we can do it and this is what this is all about. You know, the governor is really funny. The agenda he laid out was an agenda to do, uh, Election reform of some sort That makes it harder for people to vote in. It could create intimidation in the ballot box. Uh and then the precinct and, uh, The lieutenant governor is doing trans kids in sports. Mean that's their agenda. I don't know why they're saying we're stopping our own because they put that agenda out. There is what they want to pass. Uh oh. I think it's better to go kill bills and then Think that everything is about passing a bill. I will point out that the items, the things that he said that you were keeping from occurring were not necessarily the items that he identified for the special session represented Morales Shaw. Your reaction? Yeah. Yeah. Represented morale. A shop. I'm here. I'm here. Let me start by saying that each of those issues that he talks about those are not new issues. Those are issues that we vigorously vigorously push toward during regular session, and honestly, there was no reason why each of those measures could not have passed other than If the powers that be that hold the levers and that's the GOP, so they didn't pass those measures during regular session. Those were we were vigorously pushing for those. If you look at the legislative bills that were filed, you will find each of those and probably multiple versions of them and then to speak to the fact that we're not working. Um, if we're not working, I don't know what we're doing. This is this is more than work at sacrificial work. We're away from our families were away from our homes. We're away from our our own businesses. We are here to work for the people. This is this is no vacation. We're just not doing the work that he wants us to do. We are not bending to their will. We are bending to the will of our constituents and of the people of Texas, because let me tell you this bill. It's not going to affect one person, One party or another. It's going to affect everyone. It will affect seniors. It will affect young people. It will affect disabled people. It will affect all people of all creeds. So we are really working on behalf more than our constituents. But for the people were here today in Washington, not on cushy planes. They're regular chartered planes. Paid for by the House Democratic Caucus. Um, and in a regular old hotel. There's nothing, uh, exceptional or luxurious about either. Uh, and again, we're away from all of our own amenities. Some of us have health issues we're dealing with. And we have to make this sacrifice because, uh, every single law in this country and in our state is berthed at the ballot box. What does or doesn't happen there. So this is paramount that we be here and we'd be fighting for the expansion and not restriction of voter rights. Many Morales Shaw is a Democrat representing district 1 48 in the Texas House. Garnet Coleman represents the 147th district in the Texas House representatives. Thank you both very much. Thank you. Thank you, Garnet. It's so good to hear you and I'm glad you're on. The men Can't wait to see you. Can't wait to see you, too. Thank you.

But we start with Texas Democrats bolting from the special session in Austin and from the state of Texas. The move keeps keeps the Texas House from having a quorum. At least two thirds of lawmakers present to pass bills, which would ban drive through in 24 hour voting. Make mail in voting more difficult, increased criminal penalties for voting mistakes and give partisan poll watchers more authority at voting sites. NPR reports at least 50 of 67 Democratic lawmakers flew to Washington to lobby Congress to pass federal voting protections. The Texas Tribune pegs the number above 51 that matters as that's the number needed to break the quorum. Among them Texas 147th District Democrat Garnet Coleman. He's on the line representative. Good morning. Good morning. Why did you leave Texas? Well, I'm actually be clear that I'm still here in an undisclosed location because of health concerns. Uh, but I'm in solidarity with, uh My colleagues in their flowing up to Washington, D. C. But the way you do this is what matters is those people who are not on the floor as long as the 900 people on the floor action cannot happen. That is, unless I mean, if you're if you're still in the state of Texas House speaker did feeling who by the way we invited to join us on today's show, but did not hear back from his office by Showtime, he says the Texas House will use every available resource under the Texas Constitution. Looks like maybe we just lost Congressman or excuse me, Representative Coleman. We'll see if we can get him back on the line. In the meantime, if we could let's go ahead and go to representative Shaw, so we have represented shot with us today. Penny Morales Shaw, Democrat representing District 148 in the Texas House. I actually had to step out of a huge crowd because we just started our press conference here on the steps of the Capitol, But I'm happy to be with you this morning. Why, in your words, was this walkout necessary? Mm. It's necessary for Texas. To finally embrace all of its people. And expand and make consistent laws. That confirms access to voting, and that's not what's happening at the Texas House. We are here to work hard for the people for each of our constituent groups, too. Ask And plead with Congress. Are you confident that that you and at least 50 other Texas House Democrats can remain off the house floor indefinitely? Yes, I'm very confident it's not indefinitely. Nothing is indefinitely. I believe that we can do this through this special session and again, remember, it's not that somebody's in Washington D. C is that they're not on the floor. I went through this In 2000 and three with several special sessions. So in lead that group with Diego and Jim Dunham and I can tell you these are stressful things, but I think that my colleagues did the right thing by going to Washington, D. C. And if I could get myself together and that it wasn't in a wheelchair, uh, their idea on playing up there, too. Representative Penny Morales Shaw. What would you like to see happen before you join lawmakers in session again? Well, I'd like to see In which is what we've all like to see. And do you believe that he will be able to support of voting rights. Bill that you can't support the answer is yes As you know he did come out with some things that he can work with and some things that he had some concerns. He was very straightforward. He was very sincere. And what i was asked. This morning was if i could set up. A meeting with senator mansion as you know. Senator mentioned that in in my hometown laredo. You can also ask them to do the same for katie palmer. At the very end of part one. We heard brian's rambling statement to the police. Now we're back at the scene and have so much more to unpack so. Let's get into it. The ambulance rushed to the scene and took amanda off to the hospital. She was impulse lewis electrical activity which means her heart had electricity but it was not beating. She was revived on the way to the hospital. When she arrived they immediately drew her blood for blood work and when the blood work came in indicated that her blood alcohol level was three eight. Four people do speculate that amanda may have drank. Maybe doing so with brian so she can just pass out and snooze until the morning and not has to deal with him if he perhaps did murder her. She may have been unconscious when he strangled her. If she were unconscious that would make her powerless unable to fight for her light. This is just a possible theory by the ones that are closest to amanda that. Know her best but this is wants to take into consideration. Kimberly was made aware of her sister being in the hospital. At first she thought maybe her sister could attempt suicide since she did deal with depression and she also drank a lot. She could wrap her mind around the fact that being in such a dangerous toxic environment an relationship could cause stress and maybe there was a chance for mental. Health may have taken a nosedive. She was entirely accepting of that in the beginning at this time there were a slew of things that camberley did not know but she would find out later plus when she got a good look at amanda body she would begin placing all of the pieces of this puzzle. Together it appeared that something more sinister transpired all the conversations she and amanda had about her leaving the death risk that brian made his violent tendencies. The control that he thrived from and how amanda was intending to lead plus the fact that she had a plan that was in motion an arrangement with her friend so shuki get out of the absolute hell that she was enduring. She even had two bags packed and one was already by the front door. There was no suicide note or message. There were no signs that would make anyone assume she was not in the right state of mind. All the pieces. That camberley did not having this moment would come together for her very soon. When kimberly was notified that amanda was in the hospital. She met with the detective conference room where she explained the domestic violence. That was happening to amanda. For one and a half to two years. Amanda was experiencing so much abuse including physical torture mental financial and emotional. It was a living nightmare and she warned out. She wanted to live and be with her two children yes. Kimberly had concerns in the past about her sister's mental wellbeing. Now all kimberly could wonder is. Why didn't amanda. Call me back when kimberly got to amandas room in the hospital. Grinding and three other males were at her sister's bedside she had no idea who these other three men were. She told him to leave. The intensive care unit staff said. Brian claimed the bruise on amandus chest. Which was seen by the neighbors earlier that was from him performing cpr. He even told staff that amanda did not have any family later historian would change when he talked to amandus friend amber to justify the bruise on her chest. Brian said that amanda had fallen off a ladder. Trying to change a lightbulb. However we know that. Amanda toll mrs thompson before she died about the blunt force hits to the chance she said came from brian. At the time. Amanda was an osce you on a ventilator and she was wearing a net collar which was hospital protocol or patients who attempted to hang themselves. Kimberly could not see. The extent of amend is injuries right away but when she could finally.

"Good work get paid pretty well and then later after. You got a couple of years experience doing that. If you wanted to do something else you can't. That's probably the easiest quickest way. And they're hiring right now. Quickest way feud actually get in energy industry so hopefully it helps you out all right. So next question is from richard and he's a project manager marathon and he asked page what's going on with that changing regulations of flooring at the will site in texas really great show by the way. I'm there's three house bills right now sitting in the texas house representatives looks like one of the bigger ones house. Bill number nineteen thirteen is adding a gas capture. Plan to permitting basically. So it's gonna take a little longer for you to get anything. Approved am pretty sure this. The commission may not use a permit to drill deep employees back or renner and an oil and gas. Well unless the applicant submits the application with guests captured plan to minimize flaring from the wall. So pages that mean basically somewhere near future here in texas that you have to have a plan to do with again. Yeah this goes through senate and then the governor signs off on it. Yeah that will happen. The other two bills aren't to one is specifically elimination of routine flaring. Let's house bill. Fourteen fifty two. I don't know where we are. And i think everybody just started to meet back up for the sash and then the other one. It's just a for the commission. Conduct a study to assess the feasibility and barriers of the operator. So what's routine flurries i guess flaring on the upstream side house is routine all the time. It's a different in a refinery. It flares or something. I was feel like this. Is this is routine flaring of gas from the wool or other facilities regular rated by the railroad commission. So that's awfully vaguely which routine flare on. Well very small bill. What it says. The commission by rule shall establish a policy to eliminate before december thirty first twenty five routine flurry and gas from the war of facilities regulated by the commission..

"Saito do not confuse me with a loud mouth left us Latinos out there actually love my country Love my state, the United States of America. And the Great State of Texas. This'll show. There are three speakers since this show has been in place, and our next guest is the only speaker of the Texas House who has agreed to come on and talk to conservatives. Republican date feeling is the presumptive speaker of the Texas House. He's a successful businessman who was active in commercial real estate on November 4th of 2020 Mr Feeling announced he secured enough support to become the next speaker of the Texas House. We welcome him to the course. And Saito show, sir. Happy New Year. Happy New Year, sir. Appreciate you having me on I I appreciate you coming, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart Look before we get into the issues. Just tell the folks Who you are Your family, your background, your philosophy on government. How how government relates to we, the people. I appreciate that. So yes, arrived in the commercial real estate developer and broker I'm born and raised in Beaumont, Texas. Married to my wife, Kim for 12 years Now we've got we have four boys whom I love every ounce of my being there just there at the forefront of every decision that came and I make my wife a very successful attorney back home. She very involved in our community and I couldn't be more proud of her in my Children. So, uh, I, uh The reason arrange for the houses because I love what the house stands for. We were a constitutional representative democracy here in Texas and the house and bodies that we vote. Our district's he listened to our constituents. I think the Texas House representative is as close to the constituents and the voters into the taxpayers as any any elected official and my best build I've ever passed as a house member, came directly from my constituents. I did. They had one of them even had a bill at this and one didn't know I filed it. I called her after she came off the game. It's a great idea. Got ideas, and I took one of those ideas that turned into a building. I called her in session and say, Hey, are you ready to come testify for the bill? She had no idea She was part of that. That constitutional represented democracy. But she Woz, and it's so different in Washington D. C. It just is and nothing could really exemplify that more than what's occurred in the last few months. Texas We have something special here, and I'm just proud to be a part of it. Amen To that. Tell us your top three legislative priorities coming into the new session. Well, I plan to be a little bit different speakers than most. You know, I'll tell you my three priorities that I think I have a speaker in the speaker's office. But Focus on one is we have to get the economy back up and running. And let me tell you that this controller is going to give us a revenue estimate 10 A.m. today that will tell us what the budget looks like. And it's gonna It's gonna be a little grim. We're gonna have a whole lot less resources. Craft the state budget. Then we have thing we thought we would have had last in the last session. This is still the best state to do business in this is still the best state to live and raise your family. But We had the state coffers took a hit with covert, obviously, as as that every small business and large mrs alike, so we're gonna have less money to craft the budget. Yet 1000 people are still moving here a day coming from states with failed policy comes in Texas. You know they want that opportunity. They're not bringing that fall. They're not bringing public education teachers with him and not bring the DPS officers so that the core function of state government must go on. But it's really difficult with your resource is for every district. Every 10 years, we have to redraw political ons. They some population trends, and those numbers may or may not come during sessions. They may come too, some of which means we come back in and over time. But that the highly contentious issue also a constitutional requirement that we must fulfill. Doesn't my top three. Could you call me back and running crafted budget that is balancing respectful of what's going on at the kitchen table. And if redistricting after that, I want the member of the brain their priorities to the House floor, and I want them to work hard and I want to be respectful. I wanted to get their votes and past what they can pass. And so I put put the agenda back on them and say, Bring the which brings bring me your best bills and let's see what we get done. Incoming Speaker Date feeling Is our guest right now, folks on the Crystal Saito show You mentioned making Texas on economic powerhouse because it is the best place in America to do business and Nothing can be more dim ostrich above that. Is that what we've endured in the last 72 48 hours with this big tech attack on free speech? What can Texas do? So at one point bolster our economy at the same time, provide incentive to those high tech entrepreneurs who want to challenge the Twitter, Facebook's Googles and apples out there. I'm never was on social media, and so I ran for office if something had to do Engaged the voters and I appreciated it A certain point. You know the the big check what they've done, You know, I don't appreciate it. I don't think it's right. But at the end of the day, you know they are their business owners, and they could do what they wanna do with your business, just like you and I could want to do with with our business is about government interfering. That being said. I don't see this as the next guy. I see. This is a great opportunity like he just said. I see this is a great opportunity for someone to step in and fill this Ford. There are entrepreneurs out there. There is a very smart individuals. If our that smart I wouldn't be talking to you e would be elected official. I'll be out making millions and billions of dollars off because I think there is a huge opportunity for somebody to step in and fill the void. That has been left by what is what is the curve of the last 2 to 3 days, And you're right. It is. That is why radio shows like this is so important to get the you know the word out most conservative activists because I love radio. I'll listen to it all day long when I dropped in Beaumont Oh, Austin, It's a four hour drive. So I spent a lot of time on this old school and radio really enjoy it. And so that these shows are more important than ever. Well, you know, I can't thank you enough for the for the kind words and again. I'm right there with you. I think that Texas could be the next Silicon Valley for for companies that don't have Chinese totalitarian values of the suppression of free speech. Day feeling is our guest right now, folks here on the Crystal Saito show. He's the incoming speaker of the Texas House on property taxes. Many Texans think that the reform that was done the last session Didn't go quite far enough. What is your view on the tax system? And do you have any ideas that maybe a little bolder? Maybe to give Texans more control over how much tax money is coming out of their pockets? Well, I think since sunshine is the best disinfectant and allowing more accountability and you know, allowing the taxpayer having much information as to where their tax dollars are going, Who's raising the taxes to me? That is What is most vital in this whole process, property taxes or step collected the local level. They go to your school district. They go to your city and go to your county. They go to your hospital district. They go to your community College district. They go to your municipal utility district. Your special utility district. I mean, I can keep going. It goes, it goes. You report you name it..
