"Completed in made public yet but a preliminary estimate by the census bureau says that texas the fastest growing state in the union followed by florida and california. For the first time. Ever we'll see a net loss of residence as people are fleeing presumably according to one and relocation and data expert due to the high cost of living in doing business in that state oracle recently announcing they'll be moving to texas hewlett packard enterprises alon. Musk moving their operations here. Joe rogan moving. His podcast operation started a net gain in jobs but it is a very high profile move and sorts of things. start to to show a pattern. And if you're and so. What does that do well. If you're a real estate investor who you're eat for instance and you're looking at retail space. I mean retails already taken a beating this past year and nobody knows how much is gonna come back. No or for instance Workout gyms a lot of people stopped going to the gym over the last year My financial adviser racing koets showed me a chart of peleton stock price. And don't get me lying where it started but it ended up at when he showed it to me. This was in december up to one forty four and it was pretty low before that. If you saw peleton didn't change. They didn't wrote to my knowledge. They didn't roll out some new product that they didn't have two years before that it wasn't the first year they were in business. It wasn't that you know. Kim kardashian told everybody to to ride the peleton. It was people that wanted to get physical exercise. Will people want to get exercise. Were not going to their gyms. In many cases couldn't go to they're gems so they started buying home equipment. I would not want to see what club corp What their revenue at balance sheet looks like right. Now i wouldn't wanna see what was indoor workout clubs when their numbers look like right now because they survive off of selling memberships and The monthly dues. Now i wonder how many people just cut that off. Now i think the the the golf clubs and and and folks that do outdoor activities. Houston racquet club for instance. I'm sure they're doing fine. Because people are still going and playing tennis. People are still doing outdoor activities. But they're not going to indoor gyms like a lifetime fitness. my goodness i bet you. I'll bet you they suffered this past year. But there is a chilling effect for people to invest for instance in retail. Because it's unclear. What the consumer patterns are going to be. If you think about in your life you probably made some pretty dramatic changes in your life over the past year. And if you didn't your kids did your parents did or your your spouse did or somebody you know did and where you spent. Money probably chanted used rather dramatically related to the lockdown in a way that you never had before we have seventy five show sponsors in houston alone and a lot of them are in home improvement and one of the ways on an anecdotal level. I see how our economy is doing. Is i pick up the phone and call or email. how's business. how're things going. Nobody wants to say best year. Ever at least not when you start they go home tough towns. They are tough times How about this. This was what i would ask twenty twenty. Are you having a better twenty twenty financially. Then you had in two thousand nineteen who man. Oh yes or no. Yes and that's true for a lot of people because a lot of things were at play. That are not immediately intuitive. First of all if you don't have a small business and you work at a company where you're still making your same paycheck and all of a sudden you get an injection of stimulus cash or you get ppp and you just You don't use it all on. Your lot of folks took that money in started buying cars classic. Chevy chevrolet had the second best year they've ever had and the only reason it wasn't the best year is the best year was Harvey because after harvey people have to go out and buy new vehicles In large numbers. But but after that because an and i think people went out and spend money on things that they could because retail was close. The malls were closed a lot of things that people did. They couldn't travel so my home in our our home. Improvement show sponsors had a killer year because instead of traveling off an and going and staying at a resort and california or or wyoming or colorado. People put in a pool people repaved. Things people repainted and people spend a lot of time at home and start looking around. That's pretty ugly. I'm going to get that fixed whereas if you're taking vacations you don't really care what your house looks like outside because you're not spending that much time thinking about it. You're looking forward to your vacation. I think that happened to a large degree. And the question's gonna be. How many of those patterns. How many how. Many of those behavioral changes will stick. And nobody knows that.

"The number one song on this day in nineteen sixty eight tommy james and the shaun dell's including the follow up to mony mony of which were covered later. This one by joan jett and prince mind you of course covered by david bowie. I'm just kidding. Wasn't david bowie. Billy preston on this day. Nineteen sixty eight. Motown held the top three spots on the hot one hundred. I heard it through the grapevine by the fruit of the loom. Gosh love child by the supremes for once in my life. Stevie wonder oracle becomes the latest company to flee california for texas following on the heels of elon. Musk announcing that he'll be moving. To texas hewlett packard enterprise announcing that they're moving to spring north of houston for which they gave houston the credit which is comical economics. Professor and enterprise institute scholar mark. Perry points out that. The migration from california to texas is reflected in one way u-haul truck rental rates to rent a truck from la to austin from u-haul from u-haul four thousand six hundred twenty eight dollars to rent a truck back nine hundred thirty five dollars four point nine times as much to bring it here because once it's here how they get back right. So they'll they'll give you a real deal if you If you'll bring it back from san francisco to austin fifty three hundred twenty dollars from austin to san fran. One thousand ninety five from l. a. to houston four thousand eight hundred ninety four to go back one thousand four hundred eighty two san fran to houston five thousand sixty to houston to san fran. One thousand seven hundred to l. a. The dot to dallas forty seven hundred dallas to la fourteen hundred. San fran dallas fifty three hundred dallas back sixteen hundred oracle the software giant announced last week that they're moving their headquarters from silicon valley to austin a company spokesman said we believe these moves best position oracle for growth and provide. Our employees are provide our personnel with more flexibility about where and how they work depending on their role. This means that many of our employees can choose their office location as well as continuing to work from home part-time or all the time oracle had been based in silicon valley since the company was founded back in nineteen seventy seven. You know it's not easy to up and move a company like that. It's not easy at all. It's a major undertaking and a distraction. From what you're doing you're executives typically have to sell their home and go buy a new home now. Some of them may not mind because a house in silicon valley costs considerably more than the same structure of a house in austin considerably. More probably two to three times. I haven't looked in a long time when we got a law. School in ninety six the year was about nine sheen. Ninety nine maybe two thousand and a buddy of mine named nathan walker had gone out there and he was working for a silicon valley. law firm. I think it was wilson seaney. It was two thousand because this was during the tech boom. And i had a real estate company by this time and he said can you see if you can find me. A house around Silicon valley that is four. Hundred thousand are less man. Four thousand dollars a lot of money two thousand a whole lot of money and for where we were in our careers. I was impressed because they were paying so well. The problem is the inflationary effect of a lot of people. Were getting paid. Well so i start looking around. And i can't find a home under four hundred thousand dollars in silicon valley that is an actual actual structure of a home. I can't find it. I'm i'm having trouble finding anything anywhere near that. But nothing that are below it was say seven thirty five. The number that sticks in my head so that was an entry level shed. It was like aspen. You see these little you see these little. They look a woodshed. They look like the additional structure. If you buy a house in in the greater houston area. That was built seventy five or earlier. They always had little woodshed in the back. That may or may not be on a block of concrete very likely is not and these houses looked like somebody just put a front door and hung some air-conditioning or not and that's what they were selling for seven hundred thousand dollars on about a fifteen maybe twenty five hundred square foot lot. This crazy first of all you gotta you gotta move your executives. You gotta move your physical space. You got to relocate all those people. That's an incredible expense. Some of your people won't want to go. Some of your people are connected to california for all sorts of reasons. I mean think about this. You got senior vice president who you really like at the company and her family is from silicon valley and she has two little little kids and her mom. The the kids grandparents Grandmother takes care of them during the day. She doesn't want up and move. You can give her a marginal pay increase. But she doesn't want up and move so some of them won't move. You will lose some of them. You'll have they'll have to be able to work remotely even though you'd like them to be there. You got all of these hassles that you have to overcome so imagine how bad it is in california that companies are willing to go to all that hassle all of that hassle in order to get out of california and that is it's not primarily as a tax burden issue and how much more money you make the same amount of money but you put it in your pocket. Now you put give it back to investors or you know your executives. Take it your your employees. Make more money. It's also a function of the fact that your money goes further although it's getting more and more expensive to live in In austin just for kicks looked at houses on lake travis in lake austin a couple weeks ago and boy oh boy are they proud of them in a lot of that. Is that california money moving here a lot of that. Is that california money moving here. Interesting times ramon interesting times. we're living in. I can't think of a single. Texas businesses moved to california but i can rattle off quite a few california businesses. That have come here. Stop bringing your damn politics with you. Stop trying to drive your subaru forester. Stop telling us you're from california by way two things if you're from california or new york don't you don't need to tell us we're not impressed. Were not an guy from brooklyn. We don't think you're tough at the.

All the while they're doing updates that make the machines bigger, Faster, stronger, of course, But this latest version is It's really incredible man. I mean, it's all kinds of streaming capabilities. Yeah, it's a really cool machine. It's really become a real entertainment appliance. As opposed to just AH, game device. I hope you get it because for you, it's become like the Red rider. BB gun. Well, I haven't played. I haven't been a video game guy for many years. Because the kids you know they were they occupied the machines, but it's all you know, back in college and high school. I was all over video games and an old people my age. They play these games because because I talked to him. They called a text and I'd love to, you know, play some online games. Big, Good way to unwind, and I'm sure lose yourself completely. Some people do, man. Some people do it. All I ask is that you pull yourself out and be it. Work it the next day. Now, listen, there's a couple of news outlets were linked in is asking the question this morning. What would you like to be? Or what would you like to be true of you in five years in 2025, Where will you be? And what will you be doing? And what do you want to accomplish? If you start now, you know to get back on track because we're trying to get 2020 behind us. What is 2021 gonna look like for you? What would you like to forget about and move on from? If I have one more person, elbow me do the elbow or the fist bump instead of shake hands. I shake hands. Absolutely. I've shaken more. Hansen. I should. Yes, there's no doubt about it probably made some people feel uncomfortable. And because I put my hand out and pull it back, and people don't know what to do, so they shake it, and then they probably regret it. They immediately go wash their hair. They probably do probably do I've missed that. As I've told you. I have missed just seeing you Have someone smile at you. It was hit the gym yesterday and looking around every single human being in that gym. Eyes wearing a mask, and I realized it's kind of this. This this this sea of just expressionless people just expressionless. It gives the whole the whole I know this is dark, but you've been dark all morning spaces. I miss faces or nightmare and sea of empty faces. What's wrong with your head? And you just I'm just here in a dark place. I'm not in a dark place. It just it is what it is. So I can't wait to get to the point where we're out in public, and we're seeing faces. Yeah, And it's gonna be a bad time for ugly women with pretty eyes that have enjoyed this period of their life. Understand that sure. The mask has been a gift to those five. Thank your problem is you got low, T? Uh, maybe Maybe. I think that's the reason why you have in your nightmares. E think that's the reason why you're so depressed this morning and Just so dark and gloomy man. I wouldn't depressed. I'm okay. But the things I'm talking about this morning is driving me into pressure. You asked the question there. What have we missed Most that we didn't get in 2021. So I'm saying I've missed I missed your whoever you are out there. I missed your pretty smiling face or you're ugly, smiling face and I missed it. I don't know when this pandemic is over. My serve, if if the master serve you well, in more ways than just keeping you healthy By God. Keep doing it. There you go. All right, 51283605 90 toll free 8775905525. We've taken a lot of calls from from Ah lot of residents from Kami, California. Com IFF Oranje Yeah, this morning and I'm just curious. Maybe it's because of this lawsuit, the state of Texas doing these other states for election fraud. Maybe that's what made them tune in and listen online and college, But we took. I want Maybe 678 calls from California this morning calm before GNA and they're very mad at Texas for filing this lawsuit for some reason. Very mad at the Lone Star State. They're very let's be clear the people that remain in common formula. They're very upset that we're able to lure the brightest the most wealthy. The entrepreneurs that Joe Rogan's, the line must teach Texas Hewlett Packard were luring them. They're upset because their political beliefs They're voting reputation has led to so many people to flee their state, and they're mad at us. Well, they found a better girlfriend, California and we are hoping that they were our warning, a better better political situation. And they don't bring their California politics here that they are truly trying to escape that. I know they're listening. Let us show you a better way. I know they're listening. So welcome to the show. And I hope you're decent looking as well. Yeah, that would help a lot if you would just So these this story about the PS five of the by bots out there have you been? You've never run across there. Had a situation like this by bots have been have been something that's out there for a while. I don't know Now. I mean, it's possible that I bought something not knowing that's possible. I was buying something that that's very positive price was the result of that, so I could be. I have to admit when I'm out online buying anything, I probably should be a little bit more. Uh, you know, scrutinizing, And, uh, not just by the way that looks like good process Taking. Brad is in north Austin this morning, Brad. Good morning. Good morning can hear me loud and clear. What's on your mind about those by Bach times telling telling your screener there. They used to be known by another name back in the day when eBay was rocking and rolling. Remember eBay yet an item and it was, you know, the auction was set to run out of a certain time for their software You could program Uh, it's to trigger you know so many minutes before the end of the auction, telling how much over the last bid you know, to try to make sure you've got it. And those were called auctions like burst on and so my macho kind of a different form of that, and what you end up consumer Never wins. You see option Snipers competing with each other software fighting each other to get that final bid. But you know, they're not even if your first person headshot kind of reflexes. You're not going to get it. That's interesting. Yeah, it really does. Media. Please manipulate the system. If you will. It's It's pretty interesting. Yeah, thanks. But I appreciate it, man. "On. Rinsing his news talking 11 31 35 FM. We are justice and truth brand filling in for Sam, who will be back. Some point at some point, you just leave it that way. That's not that she's not sick. That is not alive. We do not know and she will be back. We just don't know exactly when we can say that she is she's doing okay. Besides, we chatted with her a little bit over text last night. She's hanging in there. She just feels really cruddy. And when she's over the over the funk she'll be She'll be sitting back in that chair. All right, we're gonna give you the list is doing an amazing Amazing job. Well, thank you. We love having you here. We will give you the list of crimes that you can commit. Now you have to worry about that paying bail. That's a long list. By the way, it's pretty cool. So we'll dive into that first time that I got a couple of phone calls from individuals who want to talk trolleys and wanna talk Supreme Court lawsuits. Tom and ST Paul. Good morning. Hey, Good morning, guys. Just a couple of thoughts about the trolley first off the most hilarious thing I saw in the literature. Was the claim that it will take you between our thriving commercial district like action like that. The irony in it, too. We're talking about old Minnesota. But here's the other thing is, in all seriousness. I think that Only vain. Cities like ST Paul could consider this during the current crisis, and in just here's a quick anecdote. Girls by an Applebee's couple days ago, and I noticed that there was one car in the lot for waiting. Curbside delivery. The next day, I drove by pitch dark. It had clearly closed and anyone who thinks we're recovering from this In time to save the economy. Or build a trolley is dreaming. Yeah, I don't know who we contact to put a stop to this, but it might be time for a protest of the capital. Thanks for your call. Defense is still they're not going away any time soon. We'll talk about that a little bit too a little bit later on in terms of stopping trolleys, man. I mean, we said it in the last segment. We We fought tooth and nail against the one in the last market. We're working and TOC zero available. I mean, once these things sort of once they get past those initial hearings, and they bring in all the stakeholders, and they have their listening sessions, and they ensure that the trolley will serve all sorts of cultural diversity issues and will connect neighborhood. Goods, and they do all that stuff, man. There's no stopping these things we tried. We fought for years against Southwest Light Rail is this. That's a stupid idea. Well, when you look at Minneapolis and ST Paul, and he's right about cove, and we're gonna get another call here and because they kind of relates But like the Minneapolis City Council, with this cutting from the police for alternative alternative public safety services, look, it's all a recipe for disaster for for disaster winning if things begin to open back up. This is what's really frightening to me, especially when it comes to Minneapolis and their plans for the police and the trimming down of the police officers. Even Maurin shuffling money to other two other resource is they're not gonna do anything to curb the crime when and if things do begin to open back up downtown, based off of the Based based off of the ground worked out there laying for a having for not having a robust police department and we'll get to these Hennepin County dropping these bail charges. You know, this crime wave is going to turn into a tsunami. We were seeing it before Cove it we were we like last year, a this time. We were talking about how crime was taking up. We were talking about individuals randomly getting mugged. You know, on the streets and how dangerous it was becoming, and this was all before Cove it if and when businesses returning can open back up again, and we get people going to do if they do down to downtown Minneapolis. It's kind of it's gonna work turning it will be Detroit. Remember Detroit from years back and just how bad it got? It's gonna be. It's gonna get worse. You have the Troy get Baltimore. I mean, there's There's no shortage of examples that these idiots, City Council member could go and learn from and you know, I wish they would. I wish they would actually go do some research as to what happened in other cities that went down this path. You want a thriving business community in downtown Minneapolis. You want a thriving arts community. You want theater and concerts and sporting events and big events to come in here, like NC, double a championships and things like that. You need public safety. None of those things are going to come here if they do not feel like they're going to be safe, San Francisco's another example because it lost all of their convention business, losing the San Francisco's losing other tech companies CURE Packard, Texas. Hewlett Packard is one of the was one of the key foundations of Silicon Valley. We will not be a Silicon Valley most likely if it were not for Hewlett Packard settling in. There is always that they're gone. They're leaving their going to Texas. Well in locally, it's the blind leading the blind. This is this is activist City Council leadership that has no background or training in law enforcement whatsoever, and they're being guided by individuals living in the community who also have no Background in law enforcement whatsoever. They ignore all of those all those individuals were going to get into in more detail the the election issues that still need to be resolved and the Supreme Court cases that will be moving through this week ahead of December. 14th President Donald Trump did tell reporters yesterday. He can that we can expect the people can expect to see a lot of big things over the coming days, he says. I think the case has been made, and now we will find out without what we can do about it, But you'll be seeing a lot of big things happening over the next couple of days. Amy and ST Paul Good morning. That's on Amy. That's Amy. Good morning, Amy. Hi. Hi,.

"Say are all right now. I'm sure they're prepared for it. They'll figure it out. Yeah i think Google i mean. Yeah there's other places you could go to that. Offer the same services google but because they are in such dominant position people aren't like going in droves to those other. I mean you can play you. Can google on you on yahoo on dot dot go. Did you miss a said google. Every time i think the problem is i'm not a problem. I guess quote unquote if you wanna call it that. But i think google so big. It's just like ubiquitous with surgeons Like i just told you. I just told you could google all of these sites even notice. Yeah oh yeah. I mean i noticed. I just kept it in there about. I mean you could use. He had for your email and i think they have some other web apps to their similar to google's sweet. You know but people are using. Google by march is one of the things to. It's just such a big company and then at the same time you know. They're so big that they're able to sell your user data at such a premium because everyone using google like. I guess you could see how they could make the case for antitrust so big like who can compete with google in the tech space. No one really. If you as a user are concerned about google when the privacy and data risk there are alternatives out there so aware that we just mentioned the fear at the same time to think. Your data is any in any worse hands with google with anyone else so yeah for using the internet they got your data is out there. Sorry to tell you well. It's not clear how many employees will affect but the company said that there will be no layoffs in the move. Hp will keep the san jose campus and will consolidate some of the bay area sites there. Yeah i'm kind of surprised that they're keeping the campus in the Bay area rarely. Because i know a lot of this has happened living from california to texas and just leave california altogether. Yeah i mean a lot. I mean another taxes are kinda high out there at the property value is so i mean yeah i mean i i know especially with me reproductions. A lot of those are moving away from the central california area. So and i know the The tech industry in general has been moving largely from california to texas. And i think maybe a certain extent the movie industry could be livid. Texas was while i know at least sudden youtube or type considered it taxes from california. There's of a lot of places in texas. Like a austin and stuff that are pretty trendy right now and stuff. Yeah so yeah austin's an interesting one. Because i mean you don't have to have a business license to start a business there. I know that. Yeah so Self force is bind slack. Business software pioneer salesforce dot com is buying the work chat service slack for twenty seven point seven billion dollars in a deal aimed at giving the two companies. A better shot at competing against microsoft. That was this was announced. Tuesday and is the largest and the twenty one year history of salesforce salesforce was one of the first companies to begin selling software as a service subscriptions that could be used on any device on the internet instead of installing programs on individual computers so we can blame companies like salesforce for this subscription. Hell healthcare now. Yeah yeah. I mean. I guess i don't think i want to call us subscription. Hell i mean it adds up. You know that's if you subscribe to water services. Yeah a lot of people do and then realize oh crap. I've subscribed to wait too many services. Yeah i guess the best thing to do is like well. I know it's like streaming. At least you know. I have a couple my family as a couple of my friends of the couple who asks. What's around. I guess you can't do that with most subscription services. yeah it depends on how you just. It's just a cost benefit analysis. Yes like okay. Do i really need ten dollars a month or you know what it rather you know. Go get my own groceries from the store. yeah of course Salesforce is mainly targeted towards businesses. So if you don't have a business you're probably used salesforce. No yeah probably might be an a database. They have probably yeah probably lots of databases all right So business claims amazon seller is selling counterfeit versions of their product.
