Rep. Andy Biggs: Texas Is Right to Determine Illegals as Invaders

"Congressman, what are your thoughts on how the lieutenant governor in Texas wants to handle the problem? Well, I think he's a 100% right. It's an emergency situation and it's an invasion. Constitution is pretty clear that the states have the right to when they're in imminent danger to act when the federal government won't and we are in a danger. And the federal government won't act. I mean, you've got human traffickers, drugs, smugglers, you've got cartels that control the border. You've got the inhumanity that's going on. And the flood of people coming across and people say, if they're saying it's racist, if people criticize its racist, then I would say they're racist because what's happening is you've got people from over a 150 different nations. There's nothing racist or xenophobic about it, what it is is trying to protect your border and Todd, we have to take action and start pushing people back or at least to the ports of entry. These people are coming through the ports of entry. They are invading the way marauders and smugglers do.

CNN Reports Overwhelming Frustration Among Democrats

"Here's CNN cut 16. New CNN reporting this morning about an overwhelming sense of frustration. Among Democrats over what is being described as mismanagement inside the Biden administration. One member of Congress calls The White House rudderless aimless and hopeless. Joining us now seen in senior reporter Edward Isaac dovere, who broke this story, Isaac, the call is coming from within the caucus. I mean, these are Democrats telling you these things. What do they say? Well, John, that's right. There is a lot of frustration that they want more action out of President Biden. They feel like days, weeks go by, there's not enough going on to say that they're taking decisive moves to combat inflation. Obviously, it's a big problem that is very complicated, but still they'd like to see some activity around it and they'd like to see that on other things. You'd like to see more decision making go on. They'd like to see some accountability when it comes to even firing people over the baby formula situation or other things before that that have continued to crop up in this administration and this White House and they feel like this is feeding a problem that the president has and the Democrats have going into the midterms in November that there is not enough decisive action going on that people don't feel like they're responsive enough to all of the problems that are there. And it's also feeding some doubts about where President Biden would be for reelection in 2024.

Biden Is Sending Illegals to North Carolina, Into Private Schools

"You folks in Greensboro, North Carolina. Now the Biden administration was caught in a lie. They said there's no way no way at all that we're going to be sending illegal aliens to North Carolina. Now we know that not only are they sending the illegals, but they're using your tax dollars to put hundreds, if not thousands of illegal alien children up at what was previously a beautiful, high end private school. The school now vacated and it's a beautiful lush property worth tens of millions of dollars and now it's going to be used by the government, funded with your tax dollars to house and care for thousands of illegal alien children. There's a very good chance you people listening to us on WSJ S you know somebody who perhaps lives in poverty, maybe you go to church with some family who is not very well off. They're living in dire circumstances, probably in the not the nicest neighborhood. Maybe they don't have enough food to eat. Right down the street at this beautiful campus, the illegal alien children are being provided things that your child born on American soil will not receive.

"I want to thank all of these sheriffs, all these judges and all these local politicians. I really want to thank people for hosting this and want to thank you for your courage because what they're doing right here. Is doing what the attorney general of Arizona did and what the attorney general of Texas needs to do. Which is recognize an invasion, an invasion of the state of Texas that is undermining our security, risking the health and well-being of Texans, allowing fentanyl to pour into our schools and communities for Texans to die, allow our ranches to get run over, empowering cartels who are well armed along the border with their tentacles reaching into Texas, you damn right, that's an invasion. What else do you call it? You want to sit back and hand ring and sit around and wrap yourselves around the axle about a definition of invasion when the people of Texas are experiencing invasion. And the whole point here, why we're here is that these individuals have the courage to stand up and say it. Formally, to formally declare what is true that we are being invaded. Police in the Dallas Area Kill a Gunman Who Entered a Summer Camp

"I want to talk a little bit about a story out of Dunkin VO Texas and follow my Texans out there if you live in a Dallas Fort Worth area. You know exactly where darker field is at, you know, where dark field DeSoto, all of these heavily populated black schools that are very successful, very successful in sports, there's some of the biggest schools in the state of Texas excel in academics. There's issues there like in any other school. But these are very big prominent schools in Dallas, Texas. Now duncanville, you ain't gonna hear this song. Nobody gonna talk about this, y'all, I already predicted. Maybe I am the Oracle. I will predict. That you ain't gonna see, nobody talking about this extensively on the mainstream news. In duncanville, I think at Dunkin field high school, they had a summer camp. And there was an idiot whom they will not name 'cause he's black. They don't even want to give his identity 'cause he's black. I would argue that he's black. I don't really know what color he is, but every time anytime you see it, he's a white man, they go white man white supremacists. But when he's a black man, they don't know what color it is. He's unidentified. And they called him a man. So if you're a man, you're 18, when you're 18, you can be identified. If you're not 18, you're youth, or you're a young person, you're a minor. They can not identify you. But they call them a man, unknown man. Comes up to the school. I don't know why he picked duncanville. Showed up. Pulled up in the lobby. Thought he was going to pull her Yuval. You know who's waiting for him in the lobby? Staff member with a gun. Staff member commences to get in a shootout with the guy in the lobby. He runs out of the lobby. He tries to go into, I believe, a big gymnasium, or another portion of the school, and you know what? He couldn't get in. Why couldn't get him, mister Tatum? 'cause the doors are locked. Well, he's still able to force entry in the door, he should be able to kick the door in. You can't. The doors at the school are designed to be impenetrable. Unless you have breaching tools or key and it does look like he had a key. But you know who had a key to his soul, the police officers. So they showed up and he got smoked.

Elon Musk Threatens to Walk Away From Twitter Deal

"Kara, first of all, I got some breaking news that came to me in my ear before we joined and I want to talk about this. Elon Musk and Twitter. Now we all know that Elon Musk was scheduled to acquire Twitter, but now with the bot situation, the pretty much what happened is that there have been deceitful. They claim that it was worth more than what it really is because bots do not count for success and it does not count for involvement and engagement. So he may walk away from this. Can you talk a little bit about this and give us your thoughts on Elon Musk potentially walking away from the Twitter deal? Yeah, there are a couple of schools of thoughts here. Well, one of them thinks that, okay, maybe Elon is just trying to get himself more favorable terms for this deal. Oh, he is a businessman after all. The richest man in the world doesn't become rich by spending all his money. So there is an idea that, okay, he might be trying to negotiate for a better deal. And he actually might still be committed fully to the acquisition. He said as much a few weeks ago when all of this consternation about Twitter's what they're actually saying about their bot levels are started roiling around. This seems to be the most serious step that he's taken in order to potentially extricate himself from the acquisition. You know, lawyers sending letters around, it could be sort of gamesmanship, but it also could be very serious. And what I think is really interesting in this regard is more breaking news. The attorney general from Texas Ken Paxton, he basically said that if this is true, then we are going to take it to Twitter and he filed what's basically looking at Texas deceptive trade practices act to protect the Texan consumer. So he's taking what Elon is saying very seriously in his statement. He targeting Twitter. He basically said, they said it was about 5% in their public documents, but it might be as much as 20%. So it looks like Elon is creating a little bit of a snowball effect when it comes to Twitter's woes. So, you know, I've heard the Elon Musk take over touted as the free market solution, you know, this is why tech companies don't have to be reined in because we've got billionaires, you know, waiting to buy these platforms. Not true. Whatsoever. Look how difficult this has been. So in my estimation, it's a little naive to think that we're going to have white knights riding out of the woodwork to save us conservatives from censorship and the abuses these big tech companies are visiting upon the American people. And I don't think it's a replicable strategy. I hope Elon prevails, but it's looking really sticky at this point.

"NFL is now requiring every team to have a minority coach in a key offensive role. According to the NFL, turns out that recently the head coaches in the NFL have come from the offensive side of the ball and there is in the view of the NFL and insufficient number of minorities occupying these kinds of positions. Aside from the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, there is one other black coach, his name is lovey Smith, Texans just hired him. And the dolphins hired a man named Mike mcdaniel, who is biracial, one of his parents, it's white, one of his parents is black. And the NFL has now an equity measure to require each team to have a minority assistant coach. In a significant role on its offensive staff.

"Field, stays on the practice field is able to get the reps, I mean, look, I don't think he's gonna be in all pro this season or pro bowler. I don't even know if he's gonna start for this team this year. But he has potential to be a starter. I think at left or right tackle, sometime soon, if he keeps developing and he his feet were unbelievable, he you can make the argument that he's one of the most athletic tackles that they've had in recent years. I think that Nate soldier was a pretty good athlete. I think that could just has better feet than solar did, soldiers a little bit more powerful. But when I see just out there, I see Michael orr from the ravens. I mean, that's what he looks like to me and Michael orr was a Pro Bowl level right tackle. I think that Ted Keras did a lot for himself in this game. He even cooked up a couple pancakes. I love it. Syrup on my pancakes in the morning. Steady teddy was really good in this game and you know that he's tough as hell. Not the most athletic guy. But I think he put himself in a mix. So I think with those two guys and I think Haran did Haran did well in this game. He did much better for him. So maybe he's a better left than he is right. I don't know. I was gonna ask you that I think that those guys could just cares and her on have now put some of the starters on notice and, you know, when you're talking about when you're talking about a wenu that if they don't get their butts in gear if they don't raise up a level and play where they're supposed to be playing, then they're going to be put on the bench because the Patriots have other options now. All right, there's one thing I wanted to ask you about. Actually, two things quickly, they kind of go hand in hand. First of all, your thoughts on Josh McDaniels play calling in the red zone and his play calling after the punt debacle by Houston. I still don't know what the hell that was about. But McDaniels, I thought, you know, it's time to give Mac the keys in the red zone. It's time to, you know, allow your quarterback to do more that the three straight screen passes was absurd. There's just some of these calls, you know, running on first and second down and getting stuck in third and long and then running a simple play on third down. That's not going to get you the I mean, there's some of these things. Again, big picture, I think McDaniels put this team in this offense in a position to succeed on Sunday. I just have issues with that red zone area Greg. And some of these sudden changes of possession, the.

"Book for over 25 years. Greg, we got to talk about this, Houston, Texans game. It was awful in the first half. It was better in the second half. I want to start with three things that you feel better or at least good about. Yeah, so let's just start with the passing offense in general, Nick. I did I did feel well actually, let's make number one just the offense in general because I think that I think that they're performance has been sort of undersold. I think that I think that they were efficient. It wasn't perfect and we know this. And we know the deal with the offensive line going in and we'll get to those guys. But I mean, you're talking about an offense, and they are going against Texans, I understand. And I don't just look at, you know, who they're playing and in the bottom line production. I look at other things like, you know, basically, are they executing? Are they executing better? Because when things don't work in football, it's because the players are not executing. People love to talk about play calling in this and that. But they're just really, are they blocking the guy in front of them? Are they running the right route? Are they catching the ball? Is the quarterback making the right decision? So look, the Patriots, you know, get the ball after the defense can never get off the field and for first quarter. They go ten plays for touchdown. The next drive, they go 8 plays and Damian Harris fumbles on, look, I thought it was a crappy call. I mean, I don't know, even on the all 22, it's not clear where he fumbles. To me, he I don't know how you overrule the call in the field, but I'm not really, I'm not one to complain about officiating calls. Before halftime, they do go 9 plays 42 yards getting position for a field goal. Jacoby Myers drops that pass. Yeah. That there was one there was one defender there. I doubt that he scores, but I do think he gets inside, say the 15 yard line at least. And now you're talking about maybe they have a chance. There's plenty of time on. So I think there was like about 50 seconds left when that pass happened. So now you're talking about an opportunity.

"This is the Greg bedard patriots podcast with Nick cabins powered by bet U.S.. All right, so before we get started, I think we'd be remiss if we did not congratulate the Boston Red Sox on getting to the ALCS, both Greg and I are big baseball guys. Congratulations to the Red Sox. Greg, did you think there was any chance this team was gonna make it this deep? Past the Yankees, yes. The rays, I thought it was going to be a long series. I thought it was going to go down to it. But this is a team that before the season I had to dig out my tweet, but I said something, I think it was on opening day. I was like, I think there's I think there's a little something to this team. You know, I was definitely excited about this team. You know, I'm a big Alex core fan. So I think that whatever the patriots, whatever the Red Sox might not have on paper, I think that he can make up for it sort of similar to Belichick. I hold Alice in that sort of level of head coach, you know, I think that what he's done with the Red Sox in a short time two trips World Series title now I think is almost Belichick in. And so I was I was high on them not high, but I was expecting more than a lot of people were. And, you know, look, they stumbled down the stretch in the regular season, but I still thought that they were a good team and I think that I think this is another this series with the rays Nick is another example of Moneyball just doesn't work in the postseason. It works for it's designed by computer nerds over a 162 games. And it works for you, but it's really hard to win, it's really hard to win much in the postseason because it gets shrunken down and the smaller the series, the tougher it is. And I think the numbers go out the window and a guy like Alex Cora and when you pluck players.

"As always by Alex barth and Alex, the title of today's show says it all. And this is where I want to start and you can decide, do we go with the positive takeaways from Sunday's game first or the negatives because this was an ugly game for about 34 35 minutes for the Patriots. They end up closing it out with a comeback victory over the Houston Texans in a comeback that felt totally necessary to save their season. You can't drop the one in four. So the Patriots save their season by coming back against Houston, but certainly a lot of negative takeaways from this game as well. Well, let's put it this way. We said all week that the Celtics were gonna have to escape from Houston with an ugly win. They escaped from Houston with an ugly win. Over the last two weeks, did I say Celtics? You did. I wasn't gonna. We were talking about the new Celtics floor before this. I'm sorry. We said our week, the Patriots were going to have to escape Houston with an ugly win. They came to Houston with another win. Over the last two weeks, the Patriots have put together one winning effort in one not so winning effort. They're one and one with those games. In those games, everything is going exactly the way we say. Don't look any deeper than that. I guess it ended up spear away. We can say that. I want to start with positives because I'm in a decent mood today. And let's start with the positives. And then we can get into some of the negatives. The biggest positive takeaway on the authentic side of the football for the Patriots. I guess you could go either way with that. One I think what you continuously see from Mac Jones is really encouraging. And I wrote my film review, took some shots at some people that are trying to downplay what we've seen from The Rookie quarterback through 5 starts because ultimately, I think that a lot of these people that are saying that what mat Jones is doing is not good enough or not impressive or they don't want to crown them yet..

I mentioned the stats for the Texans against the run. 31st in dvor against the run 28th against play action passes from an analytics perspective. That's the way that you move the football on the Texans is to get under center, put the fullback in the backfield, run it on their four three over, and then put hit play action down the field. That's how teams have had success really for the last two seasons against this Texans defense. Now, there is the Mac Jones is better in the shotgun spread and we've been certainly banging that drum all season long. So there is that element of it too. Now the Texans are to me they're one of the most predictable defensive schemes that I've watched all year long..

"I'm Evan Lazar joined as always by Alex barth and Alex. We got a bunch of things to talk about today before we get into the game against the Houston Texans, the Patriots. Obviously, there's so much to get into in that game. The Patriots obviously traveling down to Houston on Sunday for a game against the lowly Texans. So we will discuss the game here in a bit, but we want to start with some of the bigger picture topics that happened on the team this week. Mainly beginning with the Stefan Gilmore trade in the Stefan Gilmore trade fallout here. I wanted to discuss quickly the sports radio topic right now Alex is about Bill Belichick and maximizing assets, right? And his failure in a couple of different instances over the last couple of years to get the most out of his good veteran players. Guys like Gilmore, I certainly somebody like Jimmy Garoppolo's name comes up every single time. We get into this conversation. So there's that angle of it, and there's also the angle of the domino effect on the Patriots defense and where the paths go from here, specifically, I would say with JC Jackson, but starting with the maximizing assets conversation. The Gilmore situation, I feel is very different than some of the other situations that people are comparing it to. And I'll tell you why in a second. But first and foremost, going back to Jimmy G, Brady's name has been thrown out there. Gronk's name has been thrown out there. To me, those situations were different because Bill Belichick was hanging on to those players to win football games with those players. And in a way I think he did the same thing was to find Gilmore as well. Bill clearly is prioritizing having those players on his football team for as long as possible over maximizing trade value more than the public that wants to come out and say, they should have gotten more for Jimmy G, or they shouldn't have led Tom Brady walk and only get a comp pick back. Clearly Belichick cared more about sucking a dry with Brady for as long as humanly possible than a trading the greatest quarterback of all time to get a first round pick back instead of a third round pick. And I don't really blame him for that. With the Gilmore situation, what I blame him for on this or second guess on this is not, I guess overrating his team, right?.

"Some downfield throws that he was able to get like. That's a completely different. Look than what you receive to shawn watson these last few years that's the point of making compla- okay brooks convenient joins us houston chronicle. What was the biggest weakness. Take away from the game yesterday. Well you know they've the thing you you saw like all right so i'm doing a film breakdown here. I watched all last night. I've been putting it together. That's gonna come out in a few hours here. The thing that really is kind of a question here is are the texans going to be able to run the ball in short yard situation and they were not doing that. Very effectively Whenever you saw them platoon three y three tight ends at once marking room. The only one getting ball at that time and most of the time whenever it was third one or or in the goal line situations they were getting stuff on all of them. I mean he had. I believe it was four carries for you. Know or five carries for four yards in those situations got stopped on a third-down couldn't punch it in the goal line. Sometimes that that's going to be one of the biggest issues here because this is the jaguars. Defense such struggle lately and they had to restructure the entire front and they had to manufacture those yards short yardage situations to be able to get the minimal yards that they were able to there. If you're if you're going to found the offense on a ground game to open up everything else whenever you get in those situations. They're going to your guys not able to do it. That's going to be a problem And you know tyrod. Taylor did get away with a couple of throws mean. It's very first throw was authority out outside. That almost got ticked off like they were instances that they played clean football. But are they going to be able to overcome those things whenever they're not picking up first down whenever there are..

What next. that's one hundred dollars off when you use the code. What next i talked to base dot com. I keep thinking about people who are our patients that you're helping at fun texas choice. Who were really close to a cut off point. Maybe they had a procedure scheduled and then they hit up against the threshold beyond which they can't get an abortion and now all of a sudden it's illegal because the new ban went into effect. Are you working with someone like that or many people like that. Do you know how those people are coping. Yeah i mean. I will say the frantic nece that we felt in the last couple of weeks of our clients has been huge and clinics is seeing more patients need increase. The amount of folks they were seeing and so on average we would like our bergen coordinator said sees like six to ten clients a week and she was seeing twenty plus a week in the weeks leading up to september first So much. So that. Monday tuesday she worked with fourteen clients alone of this week And even though like all of us usually do a cut off and set our boundaries of i can only serve so many people because of their work in time it takes Everyone of us just kind of said. Let's let's do what we can How much we can't if we can't. That's absolutely understandable and everyone else was like. No we're giving until we absolutely onto until tuesday night But i mean. I think that the reality is. We've been talking about what's going to happen. We can talk about how to prepare for it but all of us were like we're not gonna entirely know what it's gonna look like until we start doing. The work hosts september or post. Nine one on this is not something i say. Lately many folks we forced to carry their per insisted her many folks will have to do it because they cannot make those drought. They cannot make trump's that cannot do do the long distance unfortunately a and so there is a lot of it is very hard because they have to cope with the fact that they may never be able to make that trip and be forced to carry the pregnancy Firm or take matters into their own hands. I've read this everywhere that the new texas law does not penalize people getting abortions. But when i hear you to listen to describe the obstacles that puts in place it may as well be a penalty. It does feel like that. Yes the lahser. Unnecessarily restrictive unnecessarily over-burdening and so it probably does feel like that. I'm not going to minimize that. I would feel the same way. The reason i keep trying to say that it. That it doesn't penalize client is. Because i want them to hear that organizations like fun taxes choice chains due process from their fund afia center t fund lilith fund west fund the bridge collective clinic access support network these organizations that are doing the grassroots work on the ground. Are there for you like we want to make this journey a little less difficult. You said this laws meant to confuse people. Because the way it's being talked about people think that they will be charged or or somehow put an dragnet because they've obtained an abortion and the reality is that it it puts people like you on the hook but i'm thinking about like the downstream effects and thinking. Well how many clinics will stay open. How many people will go to work at providers or how many people go to work for fun texas choice and groups like it if they could get sued for up to ten thousand dollars i mean. Are you playing out those kinds of scenarios. I think everyone's in playing scenarios. And i think everyone's doing it collectively i think folks are talking and deciding what this means and how this could impact the organization. I think texas choice has been preparing for this for the last several months. I think other organizations have been preparing for this. How do you prepare for the possibility of like a war of attrition like this you know death by a million lawsuits You can't i think you mentally are preparing for the onslaught and you're trying to make sure there's money there to do it and that's why donations and fundraising or so important. And that's why. I encourage everyone to donate to the nine texas worship funds that. I've been talking about nonstop for the last several days because we're on the ground doing the work. And i and the thing is is were autonomous organizations. And you're right. Like the point of this is to make us not being existence. But i think the will of the people stronger and i think the will of texans who continue to show up for texans is greater And i think that there's a way that we can survive. You sound like you're picturing something in your mind when you say that when you say texans will help other texans. It's not something in picturing something. I've seen right. Playtex is choice was created because another lodge haunted clinics in two thousand thirteen called how spilled too and it basically shattered more than fifty percent of the clinics immediately and we were founded because texan stepped up for taxes. We all stopped in for each other and the outpour of donations and love and support that we have. All seen convinces me. The texans are here for toxins and they will support that. And i don't just mean texans at are in texas. I mean texans that were here and left and still support the cause and are angry and frustrated that their home state is doing the things it's doing on a ripon. Thank you so much. Thank you for having us on a ripon. He is the co executive director of fund texas choice. Now that the texas band has taken effect fund texas choice plans to help patients obtain abortions outside of texas if their pregnancies have progressed past that six week mark on believes the strategy is legal. "The texans like thirty to one to win the division if that if that comes out there like what's the extreme of the neighborhood center applying if if watson is gonna play like something comes out that like likely that this is going to be held up until february watson's gonna play this year goodell's knocking suspend him under whatever caused it is and we could see watson actually play this year for houston i man. You're talking about a situation. that's so like narrow. I think it's quite possible. We go into the season thinking that he will play. But we're never going to know that it's like definitely season. Because i just feel like the commissioner hammer is gonna drop at any time if we get to that point right like it's such a pipe dream thing to be like commissioner says definitely not like next week would have to be when this happens. Commissioner goodell says definitely no punishment for watson this year. He has free to play the entire season. Basically i just want the optics of that are horrific. That's never gonna happen. I think it's at least gonna linger if anything and to be like. You're not wrong but like they have they've bungled stuff like this. Oh sure but it would be a bungle. I think we agree on. That wouldn't be like this. Be our tactical cincinnati rats. Yes so i think it's just like the watson positive outcomes cloud things if it's if it's possible that you could receive word that he was going to play the entire season i do think thirty two one is like i mean people are gonna laugh but like that's how crazy it is. I mean. what would you rank him among starting quarterbacks right now in the league like ish me like tier six to seven that okay if you have a guy in that tier no matter what the roster is around him. The team can win the division. And we'll just can't actually at one point one percent chance right there. It's a combination of that and the price. Like if i tell you that and then you're like they're two to one. Okay then. i'm not interested thirty two one. Okay let yes like. We have to leave that door open. If we could ever find out that he was going to play all seventy beco-. "John the short answer is we don't know the nfl doesn't know to shawn. Watson doesn't know and the texans don't know that's our own sara barshop on outside the lines acknowledging just a few of the unknowns in the disturbing saga of deshaun watson but that number twenty two as in the twenty. Two active lawsuits filed by twenty. Two different women is why those questions have only just begun today. Why the f. b. i. is involved in this case. Why watson's accusers say the. Nfl is asking the wrong questions. And why the superstar quarterback is still showing up to work for a team that he wants to escape. I'm pablo torre. it's monday. August twenty third. This is espn daily. Sarah barshop. you're our houston. Texans beat writer. Thanks for coming back on. Espn daily thanks for having me back. So the texans won their game saturday. They beat the cowboys. Twenty two fourteen. We're going to talk more about how the teams looked in a football context and a bed but the most notable fact of the entire proceeding. Sarah is the fact that texans quarterback to shawn did not play was surprising to you at all now. It wasn't because right now. The texans are kind of acting for the most part that he's not really part of this team in terms of him being on a football field in playing in a game and david kelly. When he talks about the quarterbacks he's mostly talking about the other quarterbacks on the roster. I mean they really. Don't talk about shawn watson in football context so he didn't play in the first game against the packers he didn't play against the cowboys and i'd be surprised to see him in the preseason finale against the buccaneers david kelly. Of course the new head. Coach of the texans sarah and yes to shawn watson sat out against the packers. The texans had one that preseason game also for whatever that's worth twenty six to seven but watson and how the team talks about him and his absences. How would you characterize how they do that. It's very much avoiding the topic. And from the very beginning. David kelly if he heard john watson's name really kinda of deflected the question and would say not much has changed. Or there's nothing new with watson even if that wasn't really an applicable answer to the question nothing new on the sean nothing new today on and last week for the first time. He talked about watson more and elaborated on him. Johnson here Again every day. He's here to in works he does. He does what we asked him to do. And you know he's here today but it was never really in a way of okay. He's gonna play in these games. So what we talked about with you on this show back in march. Sarah is still true today. Which is that. The shawn watson faces more than twenty lawsuits filed against him for sexual misconduct and sexual assault. That is the story here. There is a separate criminal investigation. That's going on involving several of the same women in those lawsuits but just to clarify for everybody. Here shawn watson still has not been arrested on any criminal charges and so he is allowed to play into practice. Is that how all of this works. Basically at right and for training camp the nfl came out with a statement. Basically saying we done some investigating into this but we haven't completed our investigation and deshaun watson is eligible to take part in all team activities and the texans first of all didn't really know if he was going to report training camp. They weren't sure the night before. They weren't really sure that saturday night and when he did report they still thought maybe the nfl with them. Put them on. The commissioner's exempt list before training camp practices. Actually start in. That didn't happen yet from a four sarah. All of this looks not just awkward but deeply uncomfortable for everyone involved shawn watson included his employers included. And i'm just watching from afar. But it's hard to avoid the fact that this is a star quarterback who was very publicly famously wanting out of the houston texans and so the idea that this same quarterback who is now facing more than twenty lawsuits for sexual misconduct and assault is showing up reporting to training. Camp i mean what were the consequences. If he didn't do that because it sounds like he kind of had to write. How do you not reported. He would have been fined. Fifty thousand dollars per day of training camp and this is a little different under this new. Cba that fine can't be forgiven by teams so we've seen in the past where someone would hold out. There was on a new contract or the issue is resolved and those fines would be forgiven. That's not the case with watson. And so he felt the need to show up so he's not fine. So here's the shawn watson showing up to practice but doing so kinda sporadically. It seems like like he's there some days he's not there other days or maybe he is but he's somewhere that reporters like you cannot see him. Maybe sarah just walk me through a day of covering this team. What that's like for you because you show up on site. What's the scene like in terms of the media gathered here covering the story what happens so day one of training camp. It was a very large media group. I don't know how many people thought he would actually be there and be reporting but there is media to see whether he would be and since then. It's been a lot of local media. I think the attention is kind of died down even though the story has changed a lot during camp while when colley talks before practice and said he's not gonna address whether anyone is practicing it kind of avoids that question until the next morning availability so we talked to david kelley and then i usually walk over to where i can see the players entrance and we can see the players. Walk down the steps and into the practice field. Keep an eye out for shawn watson. i'll usually take video or photo as he walks by oppose that video and then i'll update twitter. Say whether he is. They're not and then i'll walk over to the other practice field in watch the quarterback's throw in the started practice. And so that's how we get a moment like the one last week. I presume sarah where he snapped at reporters because obviously the media does have this lingering curiosity about whether he's even going to be there on any given day right and i think because the story has changed so much right. It's not like he's been there every single day and there's a video of walking every single day that's not the case. We are there to see if he's practicing and so as we were recording he walks by and says. Why are you guys recording. It's the same thing every day. And he walked off into the bubble and didn't seem too happy and that was the first time he had spoken to us at all during training camp and really since the end of last season so just to be clear than it is not the same thing every single day. It's actually quite the opposite as you have experienced it. Yes absolutely and it seems that it's followed some sort of pattern because for week one. He took part in all four practices week to he didn't take part at least where we were standing for any of them the third week he was there for all four and then the fourth week which was last week. He didn't take part in any practices with his teammates. But on thursday we did see him on the side field stretching in working out with a trainer during practice. And sir what is he wearing in terms of wearing his uniform wearing the red. Don't hit me on a quarterback jersey. What is this whole thing. Look like so those two weeks weeks one in three of training camp. He has been dressed the same way as teammates although he has had that red jersey on when we saw him last thursday when he was just working out on the side field he was just workout. Clothes was not dressed to participate in practice. The one thing collie did tell us last week. Was that deshaun. Watson is getting his work done he said just. Because you're not.

"Sports. Talk seven ninety. We will continue this. The shawn watson talk and you guys can take where you want to now that he showed up for training camp which i suggested on friday that he should or would do on our morning show pre before he did it. Because i didn't think i mean why wouldn't you. Nothing prevents you from showing up to camp. Don't get fined. Don't cut off your nose spite your face. Show up make them deal with it and get rid of the fine fifty grand as that gets hefty. That's a lot of money. No matter how much money you make and here he is now. It sits solely on what the texans are going to do. They know he doesn't wanna be there but he's there to your practice or do you not try to trade him which there's talk that they are now open to trading him. What's the commissioner to do. What's going on with the legal. And when all is settled as the shawn watson still want to be there and even if he's not traded and he's not and he's allowed to go to camp even though he doesn't wanna be there will he just decide to keep playing and keep collecting a paycheck and doing his thing until they decide to do one thing or another with them and until he decides i'm done but apparently if they run them out there with reps during camp will he show up if nothing's done and opening day starter for the houston texans if nothing else changes between now.

"Give her the big old middle finger to let's let's like inexperienced tiny banks raise as baldwin bass right he fees on that blitz bill check This was the stat. He was in this game five hundred for his career. So this'll be the last time it'd be five hundred right. Sure because you'll never 'cause he goes on his massive win streak and he'll never lose them in a row so Not only was he five hundred but he was sixty nine sixty nine. Ooh nice so so. Yeah i mean you can watch this game just for that. If you want times damon that stack comes up in our question tonight. Screenshot and i'm like i did go back and find out how the highlights on the website true. It should be right after that. The possession. Tom brady throws a stupid pick. It's our twenty nine so like if the patriots added just play like a bunch of assholes would've won the game easily but they just turned it over and terrible times on so lucky killed drives and just let the texans hang around and actually take a pretty good lead right so instead of like putting the game way. They're like the the each side of the half score. A couple points in the middle there and being up by a couple of scores because they went into the halftime ten three could been thirteen three and then like score. Get on the second half now. Europe by t. scores instead picked off. Texans start at the patriots eleven. I think it was like two plays later. Under johnson and a touchdown so now it's game ten ten good about themselves but then brady in true brady. Fashion gets the ball back in storms. Right down the field again in like fuck you mode. This is where he hits. J stokes to get inside the ten yard line one yard bomb. Yeah that was that was j j stokes snapdragon siding. Yeah of the game. It's going into brady sack on third down the last player the third quarter so fourth quarter starts viteri hitting a short field goal which actually makes so off the schneide again kind of an hour in the fourth quarter and this is where ships kinda of goes a little wild because it's ten ten at the end of the third in this game ends twenty. Three twenty in overtime left in overtime right so and vegetarian just kicked a field goal to make it thirteen ten. Just this quarter. You know you don't need to see. Yeah that's what i'm saying. So skip to the fourth quarter. We'll talk you through all of it you should. We should mark what time that starts so does get the video started. F you should buy lots of forty five minutes probably is it just started the second half but yeah and the game is on youtube can find on the website posted a link in the show notes to the websites you can find all this stuff dynasty dot info. "Things that bother me as there tends to be they were i learn new trick or they were told to do this but they loved telling you what. The defensive alignment was. Don't patriots out four all out in a four six. The they're playing dying or nickel you know. Is it five percents of backs for texan. Say no but they didn't like us that information for anything useful. They just like told you. We were goes. Oh that means. The texans are expecting pass. But they didn't even do that. They just like all the texans come out in the three four like well. I guess some of us here in the smart enough to know but at times he was like. Oh they only have to doubt. The texans only have to down lima. Like that's cool like expand on these are the only two teams in the holy plane with before. So he's making a comment on how to defenses are some of the only two in league and stroke of luck. Who's coaching the team. Don't capers who ends up. You know playing coach with the patriots. He doesn't it can call unlike their defensive. Coordinator fangio was a car broncos head coach. I didn't know his the dc yup and he's not doing great head coach whether or not it's the broncos situation or him clean air away they're twelve and twenty two years there which is a three seventy five win percentage for those of you keeping knows better his first two years in nam. He's he's improving from defense coordinator for stint head coach. I in about the same. Yes but they were also talking about how given an he had scored an overtime touchdown against the broncos or something which i don't he just mixed up the games us talking about the miami game like oh yeah in in overtime against miami well tribe is like no actually no given caught the overtime touchdown against the broncos i know they haven't been in overtime against the broncos since whatever he's thousand game was intense you know it felt like it overtime. Game with the fake with the intentional safety. In jeddah i guess but had the had the drama intensity of overtime. I don't know and lastly on commentator shitting on the commentators section of the podcast by andy brown I believe it was rainy across the talking about the the patriot. Biggest problem was that They had so many starters that They will dilute their own pro bowl votes. They won't have anybody going to the pro bowl because they've.

"And Touching on that wing played. Played us. he this was the first time the entire season having a hundred yard game. He attuned six carries one hundred sixteen yards and one touchdown he was. He was definitely the reason that when he let me change that he's not the reason that we lost but he was definitely a huge factor in why we lost the game and I would like to shut him down on. This is one of those games where Carlos high needs to be stopped John. De'andre Hopkins under Shawn Watson. That's a big enough three headed monster to beat some other teams here in the League. But it's just that's not firepower for the chiefs especially coming off the bye week and Andy Reid. Big Red is twenty two and four after bye week including the play offs and look. I look for that to continue. I'm sure you do as well. The big question is I wonder what spags record is coming off the bye week with all of that time for him to prepare for one team. I guarantee you that the SPAGS hasn't tricks up his sleeve as well and also given the fact that he's scenery the Texans once already this season we we basically know know what to expect from these guys. Yes and I look for. This is a scenario which we'll talk about a little bit later on. I'm going to bring it up right now. How I do want to talk about the chiefs? Home winning percentage since two thousand and three at seventy lead seven thirty two is winning percentage at home since two thousand and three that near tops the league and and I figure that that's obviously obviously Arrowhead Stadium Home Field advantage and as that going to be another scenario that we can ride on here in this divisional playoff game. I believe you know. Every seat will be packed in that house. And I hope to not see Texans Fan. What do you think Chris Homefield advantage here? How much does that affect this game? Well you're touching on the home field advantage let me throw a couple more stats. So this the Texans Dr Seventeenth on the road in points allowed with nearly twenty four a game. They're last on the road in yards allowed as one of only two teams allowing four four hundred or more yards also last on the road yards per play an line of rude.
