I love my favorite moment was Tessa Thompson who will be marvel's Marvel's first Queer Superhero and she said well she's a keying and she needs to find her queen and I love that because she was named a King at the end of infinity war or endgame she was named a King at the end of end game and she's. I think a lot of fans are hoping that her queen is <hes> possibly Captain Marvel you'll see but that's really cool and I'm so glad that she is <hes> and of course we had Natalie Portman taking on <hes> milner taking on a the the hammer for thor dope before we hop more into marvel. 'Men in Black: International' Struggles to Find Its Place in the Universe
"Out, Ryan. It's been long awaited men in black international. Yeah. Long-awaited is right, dis movies, usually, take a while to get to the feeder. And this is the first one gotten since men in black three in two thousand twelve obviously say continuation of the franchise that started with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones all the way back in nineteen Ninety-seven, of course, this time around, we don't have either of them. I think if you attention you might see their framed photos show up in one scene. But this time the action is centered in the London branch of which is run by Liam Neeson's, high t-, Tessa Thompson is a rookie agent agent age, who is teamed up with kind of a full of himself, slacker agent, m who is played by Chris Hemsworth. They have to basically uncover a mole in the organization y. While at the same time prevent an alien threat from getting their hands on a powerful weapon. So you know it's pretty standard stuff. There aren't particularly any clever plot elements and it kinda plays out exactly as you might expect it to, you know, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson had great chemistry together and four. Ragnarok, they seem to be having fun here. But it doesn't quite compared to that movie still. It's probably one of the few bright, spots, otherwise typical Sifi blockbuster. The supporting cast is great has 'em Thomson. You know, Camille, non Johnny and Rebecca Ferguson. They offer their voices, two two different alien characters kinda steel seems at they're in that a lot of this feels way to millier and kind of not quite inventive enough to sort of justify extending the franchise, so it's not doing very well at all with the critics. It's currently at twenty six percents. I personally think that's a little bit low because I still think it's kind of fun world to be in. So if you feel the same way, it'll probably be decent time killer. But I wouldn't go in there expecting like a huge revitalization of the franchise. Yeah. That's kind of disappointing from my vantage point, I was ten when the first one came out and I love and I still like that movie. But yeah, there were definitely some diminishing returns as the franchise went on. And I was hoping that this would sort of be a reset that there would be something good. Yeah. I mean, I think a lot of people were hoping for that, especially with the involvement. I mean, the two stars Chris Henderson has Thomson everybody thought okay? This is going to be so Ragnar off to in a sense, and it's not quite that. I think the, the director is f Gary gray who's done with me. No heated the most recent fast and furious movies and the Italian job, so you've got some, you know, action under his belt. But for some reason, he just can't quite manage the tone of this one properly, I think, but again, I still think it's kind of a fun movie to watch. So I mean if you're into that world into that universe, I wouldn't necessarily Ryan, would you say it's one of those things we talked about this before where you have. A whole lot of critic saying. You know I just can't give it a thumbs up. It's not terrible, but it ends up being a negative review which against it. It's not like so when you see twenty five or twenty six percent it's everybody's saying this is terrible. Stay away. It's just it's. All right. Yeah. I definitely think that that's the case with this one. I think a lot of people feel extremely lukewarm. I mean, don't get me wrong. There's a fair share of people who saw this and thought it's really bad. Oh, okay. There's definitely a handful of critics thought. Oh, this is the worst in the franchise. But, you know, I think the, the average score is four point five out of ten so that might tell you something. Okay.

"She was drugged and raped at a party, and she's been ostracized by her friends, because her dad, who is a detective was responsible for getting somebody famous arrested for the crime, and it starts with her whole world kind of upside down. And she is a teenage detective. And so people will come to her with things, and she's very smart. She uses like you know, forensic skills and hacking skills and other things to help solve different crimes and figure stuff out while at the same time through the first season and then into the second season a bit to trying to kind of solve the murderer of her best friends and, and other things. Go on. It's a it's a really great show. It's one of those shows that I still can't believe in some ways was airing on like network like teen TV wrong because it was really adults. You know, like really serious, too. Yeah. And. But but is also funny, and it's, it's witty, and she's great in its and obviously had a huge huge huge fan following. And when the show was cancelled ROY, okay, I guess, that's it. And then I guess about five or six years ago, a movie was made. They raised funding on Kickstarter. It was one of the back in the wave of, of Kickstarter movies, and that did better than you know Warner Brothers was expecting and even with Kristen Bell's success in the success of some of the other people who've been involved in the show, Tessa Thompson was a marvel fame was was an actress in it as well. They rebelled to get most of the kind of the original cast back for a fourth season. And so that's really exciting and really cool. So I'm excited about that. Awesome. So before move onto a another show. I wanted to jump back to Jessica Jones for a second. So have you seen? Russian doll. Yes. Love it. Okay. Fantastic showed do you remember the guy, she hooks up with the professor? I don't want to spoil the show, but the kind of jerky, like guy that sleeps with all the women in that show. Do you remember him? Yes, he is the villain for just cajones. Nice Nias in his character from the comic book. I don't want to spoil anything, but he's kind of psychopathic like serial killer slash genius. That it's really interesting because the ritual version of his character was a very, very religious Christian person that went around murdering people that didn't live up to that to that, I'm Jill stain, and then his character came along, it was more of a. Had this thing in it were, he was like a poet, any wanted to go around killing people that didn't have music, and their soul or spark to their life, which if you think about it. That makes him a perfect foil for just cajones. Who's just kind of d- know what I mean. She's so ravage this trauma, you know, I, I will go on record and say, I appreciated the mother daughter dynamics of the second season in I appreciated Kenna sing Trish go out of control in the second season. I didn't enjoy the second season. Does that make sense at all? It does. I really liked the first season so much that I think the second season wasn't as good. But I still thought it was really good television. Yeah. Well, I felt let down by an hoping this one it feels like as a better a better plot behind it and Wallen. Yeah, yeah. In Bill, it's always hard to do. Second spa up. Like when you're so critically acclaimed. When people like it so much a case in point my favorite show of two years ago. Big little lies just came back on HBO. Meryl Streep has joined the cast which is led by Reese, Witherspoon and coal Kidman and Laura Dern and a shilling Woodley who, again actress, who's not very good, but she's really good in this and Zoe Kravitz fantastic show, and I've only seen the premier and I have to say I'm here for it. This was you haven't seen this breed, but you need to watch it it. Well, I read the first two chapters, the book, and I was like this is a bunch of rich woman trauma, totally hit a jet. And I gather that was a mistake..
Tessa Thompson is OK with the 'Men in Black' title, for now
"But actress tests Thompson says she's fine with keeping the masculine center title men in black international for now. Tessa Thompson, Emma Thompson And Bill discussed on Truth and Movies: A Little White Lies Podcast
"How many people can say that? I found you which makes perfect for this job, Tessa Thompson, and Emma Thompson, there in that clip, Emma Thompson, one of the few returning strands, furthest. Many back international everything else, pretty brand new call, we excited about reboot sequel for the men in black crunch is. No. Really? So when the first trader came out, it very much was Hello. You get to see Tessa Thompson, and Chris Hemsworth suit here. Two of the most bankable likable, most charismatic stars very well tainted I thought that's not bad way to repeat your franchise. And, and I had a similar thing when what she in the first twenty minutes thought this scripts Bill will of the place if it was there to three scripts being copy pasted together. But you're trying to get by the charisma of these two thousand suits and then an hour twenty minutes, and I thought, oh, no, it kinda works. Okay. Just the Shia charisma of two of the best in Hollywood right now in nice clothing made me, nicely
New 'Men in Black: International' trailer is out
"Men in black trailer is out men in black international Wilson's going to the song for this one. No, he's not even in it, though. It it does Tessa Thompson has two vendors Tessa Thompson, and Chris Hemsworth. Leeson is also in it as well as Emma Thompson and Rebecca Ferguson plays the villain. So this is second trailer. It's the it really shows off their chemistry, which we saw in Iraq. So I'm really looking forward to it very elegant or somebody else. It is not it is f f Gary gray who to wreck did the fast fear fest fears eight Phil bay the furious. Yeah, that's fine. I'm into that was that was opportunity for a segue that I did not make us a little dog going to be in it a little pug. They're not gonna have Will Smith you might as well have the little Dino. And sure worms was the little dog is the Wurmser in the trailer was was was the dog voiced by Joe Pesci or something. Or is that another dog by any of us at this table? Could could probably do the it was it was not. It was not a it was a character actor Tim Tim Blaney
Summer Movie Preview
"The movies of summer twenty nineteen. What is out there? What's going to happen? And I've got to start by saying you think maybe that summer begins on your calendar near the end of June. But not in Hollywood everything in Hollywood begins early because summer is when they make all the money that they can make all year. So officially April twenty six it's the beginning of summer because the movie that opens on that day is called a ventures endgame. This is three hours long. Nobody's gonna care. I predict that not only will this be the biggest box office hit of the summer, but it will be the biggest box office hit of the year. You remember what happened last time all the ventures or at least half of them seem to turn to dust than die mean? Now have those ventures that are left to signing if they can beat the evil fan. He so evil will the adventures be wiped out forever. Look how much money did these movies make I'm saying why would you basically kill the golden goose? This is going to continue in some way, we all know it. So what else is out there? I'm looking at my list. There's a major thing going on now of in terms of taking the Disney slash Pixar animated classics and turning them into live action movies. So we have The Lion King line king. One of the most successful Disney animated movies ever is now being done as a live action movie. You have Donald Glover being Simba. You have James Earl Jones actually being this father and the same scores. They're the same using. And it's directed by John Fabbro who did such a great job with the jungle book doing the same thing that I think we can all feel optimistic about what's going to happen. And then we have Aladdin when we remember the. Animated movie who do we remember the most? We remember Robin Williams doing the voice of the genie. This time doing the voice of the genie and being the genie. We have Will Smith. So big stars in this big kind of thing, they tried it with Dumbo earlier this year, and that didn't quite work the way they wanted to do. But we're talking about lying king and the Ladan so big deal. Now, what terms of old fashioned animation is out there. I don't know if you're like me. But there's a Toy Story four toy stories always been my favorite of those Pixar. There's something about Woody and buzz light year, and you're probably saying to yourself. Well, and Toy Story three didn't it happen. That would he said goodbye, Andy. And he went to college, and it was all over remember. There was little Bonnie Andy gave his toys too. So we're going to have little Bo peep comeback. I think when you look at what goes on in Toy Story, you have that kind of feeling of goodness of field. Goodness, but done with all the magic of Pixar. So if those adventures out there are going to have a run for their box office money. I would say Toy Story. Four is going to be the one that does it. So what else we now have men in black men in black international? You're not gonna see Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones anymore. But this time you have Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. As new agents who are out there in this men in black universe. Sometimes you say to yourself do I want more of that? And you never know to actually see it. And I can only tell because I haven't seen this movie yet. But it looks like there's chemistry there. Then we have Spiderman far from home. You know, the Spiderman franchise never seems to end either. But we have Tom Holland who played him last time charmingly, I think, but now spider man, Peter Parker. They're taking a European vacation and the villain that they run up against is mysterious. Played by Jake Jilin. All I just think they're still some special sauce in the Spiderman universe, and I expect this one to also be a major hit. Godzilla Godzilla king of the monsters. I see that. And I go how much can they work this poor God's, but you can look at the trailer and see it. I like the idea that aside from viewer for Megan who is in it, Billy Bobby Brown from stranger things is in its she the dynamo. So if God Zillah can basically meet his match betting on little Millie to do something with that Hobbes and Shaw, this is fast and the furious you remember the rock of playing the the law man, and Jason stefon playing the outcast and the rebel these guys. I don't know if this is Hollywood kind of thing, but they tell us that Jason stadium and the rocked wing Johnson. Don't really like each other. And maybe that what the reason we love these characters and show so much because we liked that conflict. I don't know it seems a PR stunt to me, but I'm going to be there because this cars. There's the rock and their Stefa. So you're going to be there to and you know, it, oh and the big deal. Now, everybody has just in the midst of welcoming game of thrones back to their lives. The last season of that. You can't bear to live in a world where you can't see the stark sisters anymore. Well, now, you can dark Phoenix, which is part of the X men universe. Bring Sophie Turner, and she's Jean grey this character that we've seen before. But she's this younger version of her and she split between the good side of her and the dark Phoenix side of her. And to me, these girls are tremendously talented in what they do on game of thrones. And I think we're going to keep seeing them through the years, but her sister her at least game of thrones sister, maisy Williams is in new mutants part of that universe too. But in this case, they're all new characters to do this. They're all gonna be in the X men universe. Doing it. So that's it for the blockbusters that are out there. You've got everything from animation to comic book characters to everything. And that's the stuff that you hear about that your friends are going to talk to you about. But there's gotta be other stuff to part of summer is comedy of. I think we all really have gone through a long winter. And we're saying make us laugh give us something that will just make say, whatever. I can just sit back and not think. So what's there for that? There's a movie called longshot. This is a movie in which Charlotte Theran is playing the secretary of state who is running for president. But falling Manley in love with who staff throw in. Okay. It's like, a beauty and the beasts thing going on here. Seth Rogan is her speechwriter all of her people say what are you doing? You're going to destroy your career. But no, it's love. And if you don't laugh at the combination of Seth Rogan, Charlie staring. There's nothing left for you. And then we have the hustle. The hustle is a movie that used to be called dirty run scoundrels where the old days it was about conman. Now, it's con- women. They're played by Anne Hathaway and rebel Wilson. And they basically go all cross the continent finding rich people whose money they can steal pretty people. Glamour? What's wrong with that? Oh, book smart. This is directed by the actress Olivia Wilde, and it's about girls graduating from high school and saying we spent all our lives with our head in the books. Everybody else is going to parties and having fun. So they're going to do that beanie Feldstein plays one of them. She is the sister of Jonah hill and real life and Jona hill did super bad. This is kind of the women's version of super bad everything in it works, like a charm. You're really going to like that one. Then we have a movie called late night. This is about the TV talk show world and Emma Thompson plays. Probably the only woman on late night TV who hosts her own show, but she's got only men on her writing staff, and then she hires Mindy Kaeling who also wrote the screenplay of this movie, very very funny about what happens when you put women into what basically has been. A male bass they end of doing this. And the combination of Mindy king writing for the great Emma Thompson and watching them perform together is just so you've got to see that one to my favorite kind of thing. The dead. Don't die. You've got to admit that is a great and funny title. It comes from the indie, directing great, Jim Jarmusch. And it's cut people like Bill Murray and Adam driver by zombies. Okay. If Bill Murray is going to go out there and get laughs. Sizing up zombies. I'm going to be there watching him do it. So we have a good chance for laughs horror. I've got to talk about it now because it's not just the Cajun. Oh movie harm movie that makes money any makes people talk and get happy. It's they're everywhere. Now child's play do you? Remember the old child's play movies where you had Chucky. The crazy nut doll that. Always terrified me. Just. This doll who looks kind of little bit weird and freckly, but he has a voice on him like a longshoreman guess who's doing the west now of Chucky Marquel? Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker. And from what I've seen of it in. It's just been a little bit of it. It's wonderfully malevolent, so I'm going to be there to see that one. Then there's Annabel comes home. Another doll another possess doll also part of the conjuring universe where a viewer for Megan Patrick Wilson. Or the demon knowledge is that tried to make sure that nothing bad can come of this horrible doll Annabelle, but Bill will destroy and I will be there to watch her. Do it then them that follow their certain titles that get me them that follow really gets me? And it's about a snake handling church in Appalachia. No, they there are there colts. And they're almost religious cult where people pray. But they have the snakes, and they hold the life thinks pass them on. And you're thinking, what are you tell me about this like CD movie Har movie will guess who the star of this movie is the freshly minted Oscar winner Ogilby Coleman from the favourite, she's tossing those snakes around so irresistible. I think you're gonna love it. Then there's the Nightingale. See it's does not stop. It's har- everywhere. The night and gas from the director, Jennifer Kent who did a thing a couple of years ago called the baba Duke, which gave millions of people nightmares. And now she's back there following a woman who is chasing a convict got to be hooked. And then midsummer midsummer directed by REI Astor who last year gave us hereditary with Toni Collette, a really scary movie. Now, it's at a nine day Swedish holiday where everybody celebrates. But they'll be no celebrating after this one. So we. Got a lot of stuff out there. That's just going to scare us witless. And I couldn't be happier. All right. When summer comes. We think of all the things I've just talked to you about blockbusters comedy horror action, the rock of everything is there, but every even in a season like this. It's all about money and getting us into our theater, there are those movies that can come out entertain us. And also will hear about them at the end of the year when the Oscar nominations come out and the number one movie on that list, and the one that I haven't seen anything of India's of anyone that saw even anything past the trailer is called once upon a time in Hollywood it is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino its stars in order to Capri, oh as a TV star on the wane in Los Angeles. And Brad Pitt as his stunt double whoever thought of

"And unfortunately, the last fifteen minutes were some of the worst things I've ever seen like I had so much narrative and emotional whiplash. And that last I mean, I just it just felt silly the way everything resolved, and they don't even resolve it ends in the middle of what should be the third act of this movie and. Boy, it's really rough. It's really rough. Now, if you're you're younger and your appetite for action is is a lot larger than did mine as an old man at this point. And if you haven't been exposed to some like, you know, fairly rudimentary Sifi concept's before right? This might be a lot more exciting. But to me this was just a like an overly long. What's just only two hours, but overly long felt like it was oddly padded? There's just days ex-, MAC and everywhere everywhere. And unfortunately, there's the world building is cool. But it's not enough to support the the lift it's not enough to hold up the city that they're trying to float here. And unfortunately, I found it I found it disappointing. And I don't think they're going to get their franchise that there are one wanting. No, I can't imagine this makes back one hundred and seventy million certainly not domestically. I think people are going to realize deterred and and the won't make it back here. Maybe overseas they can recoup that money and get a get a second sequel out of it. I don't know. Yeah. Okay. So let us I think we can just get into despoilers. I don't think there's going to be a lot of them. But there's some specific things I wanna critique and talk about and praise Saint here there. Let's talk about things that we saw I saw the following. Trailers a new one men in black international. Okay. I I've seen the trailer for this. But I didn't see to my theater. Yeah. So I had didn't even this wasn't even on my radar. And essentially stars Thor and Tessa Thompson. So Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson reprising kind of like the Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith characters and they're going to England. And there you go. That's the movie out of this looks like it could be fun. We'll see it could be. I really liked the first men in black. I thought the minute black after that, we're increasingly kind of joyless affairs. We will see if they do better with this one. But I'm not I'm not super excited. I need to see more trailers. And it's just like it's one of those concepts where the movie works a lot because of the strength of the concept. But that's the concept doesn't have that much legs. I don't think so we'll see token. I have you heard about this this kind of caught me by surprise to. So this looks like it's a bio pic about the life of one JR Tolkien. It shows him growing up. It shows him going to university. It shows him going in the were crucially fighting in the trenches of World War One, and how this stuff and his love affairs, and how all this stuff. It looks like inspired the novels that he went on to write it stars the beast from. The the young experts series. I forget that guy's name. I don't know. But yeah that guy, and it looks, you know, I've, I've honestly never heard this story as much as I know about Tolkien and. You know, his life and his works. The man himself is is largely a mystery to me. So I kind of interested in seeing that. Yeah. I might be too. I'm look I'm not a huge fan of the books of Lord of the rings. But I didn't like the movies. And I don't know. I'm kind of a sucker for bio-pics most of the time. And this guy is like, I don't think it's I mean, I don't know. I guess he does get a per credit, but everything all modern fantasy essentially was shaped by this, man. Yeah. Like if you like game of thrones, dungeons and dragons. Any game that has a dragon or a hobbit or elf or a dwarf. This this this is the foundation..

"You like to hear the list of presenters? Okay. So far. These are the ones that we know of Tina Fey Whoopi Goldberg Bree Larsen Daniel. Craig Jennifer Lopez Chris Evans, Amy Poehler. My Rudolph Shirley's therein Aquafina, Amanda, Stemberg, Tessa Thompson Constance Wu. That's good. No doubt even with a host. There would be really great presenters. Right. They usually have a whole range of, you know, current and former actors and actresses I did see something to and I was trying to find it, and they can't but something about they're also going to be limiting. They're going to try to tighten up the broadcast the telecast, and there's only going to be like ninety seconds for a person to make it from their seat to finish their speech. Like from the time. They get up from their seat. Ninety seconds has a time their speeches done even possibly don't really know. I don't know. That's why I was trying to clarify. But I think there's a rumor that the performers for best original song will only have ninety seconds to perform a song. So each have a little tidbit of time to do the song, which is making a lot of people mad and people were mad before because they were only going to have to representatives for best original song. Now all five will be represented. But just in a short according to USA today. This year's Oscar winners will have ninety seconds to hope it to the stage get emotional and exit. Oh, that's I mean, that's the part. I think I get sad. I get the most sad about is when they cut. I mean, listen some people do need to be cut. Don't get me wrong. But this is somebody's opportunity to be grateful for the they've been given. If it requires people to be more thoughtful about and getting right to the point. Like, here's the thing. I get that. It's a moment. And look if I were in contention for an Oscar, I don't know how I would react if somebody said my name, I would probably drop trout and just like soil, myself great. I'm just saying he is Lord only knows note to self do not surprise. So I don't know people just happened to look at our window at that moment. It was not pretty. Okay. No. But seriously, I what I'm saying is I don't know how I would react. However, I feel like you could you could practice prepare you could prepare, and you could do a few things in front of the mirror to make sure it limits you now, I didn't know this. But apparently, traditionally they don't count count it until you're on the stage, and then you have forty five seconds. But this according to the show's producer producers, Glenn Weiss and Donna Giuliani. They're going to give winners a total of ninety seconds to get from their seat to the podium and give their speech like, okay, we'll give you more time. But it's going to have to include getting to stage. So maybe that's going to encourage people to hoof it. I'm not entirely upset about that. Because sometimes the Huggies diapers. The hugging. You know, like the moments that they're having with the people around them. He can be does take a long time. And then they get up on the stage. And then there's the awkward like hug hug hug hug. Everybody on the stage, then get your award then turn around. Then get yourself situated then start talking and by then. Oh my gosh. Just put a trap door on the stage. Good idea or get a good hook police. Electrocute them. Dark. Okay. Or did it? Let's see crazy. Stupid idiots coming up next..

So I don't really have much an opinion on either way love the first movie and the the world always found it too silly. There's A a lot lot you you could could do do. in that world. But whatever they're going to make this all the us trailer from Jordan peels new movie, I had goosebumps watching it. It looks frigging crazy horror riffing go check it out. So this is interesting because I just found out you like or. Trailer yesterday. What does this movie about from that trailer real quick? I don't know. Scary. Why can't you? It's less political commentary than it's less like racial commentary than his other movies more like genre. D'appel gators. That's right. It was the same person. Have you have you seen the trailer? It's like evil. Clones. What does the trailer of called us? It's Jordan peels follow up. I have nine outs that movie. Yes. I was like this is fun. I mean, it's his next for movie. I saw that. I was like I'm not watching that. Oh. I'm not. And who's the pussy who's calling me the pussy this kind of wanted horror movie? But I mean, there's there's a little like Hitchcock in vibe like the way was cut the stuff. He was doing little Stanley Kubrick ish that what we're seeing from him patrol teaser week. Cyborg looks really cool and trailer. I don't know why Justice league didn't do a simplified version like. In the do patrol trailer. They've added cyborg. Oh, that's I've worked the titans season. Finale. If you watch the there's a post credits scene also that has con CONNER Kent and crypto Super Bowl and the whole Batman versus Robin. Pretty crazy was it was crazy. But I don't want to spoil it. It was kind of it wasn't a thing. But it wasn't thing. But it was weird. Good ending this group of heroes. They can do a lot with this cast. I'm really interested to see how it plays out. George r Martin also wrote enough Ella about this night. Fire spaceship, it's on scifi, go check it out. Great series, really cool really trippy moving over to net. Flicks. We have Dr crystal remaking the worse with Mark Hamill any Sam version like we'll people. So if you go check it out hero mask is an anime series. They made I just finished ad really good. And also bird box is a book that I read a while ago. Native made that into a movie with Sandra Bullock, which is a cool little thriller. Okay. The book wasn't a copy of quiet. No, it's an adaptation of a book Sophia. And I and the fan when they were over for the holidays, we randomly watch this bird box on Netflix. Starring Sandra Bullock, and John malkovich's in it's Sarah Paulson. It's actually pretty good. It's the happening meets the quiet place. All right. Okay. So you start out and there are scenes where Sandra Bullock in these two kids are blindfolded, and she's just she's giving them orders. Do what I say..

"Did you see the new trailer door ragnarok to sorry? I mean international in I only say that because they got Tessa Thompson. And Chris Hemsworth? And not only that. But they literally put a door joked at the end of the trailer when he's fighting the alien, and he picks up that little hammer. And he throws the in thing catches. He's doesn't incredible catch. And it's just like he even throws it like. Yeah. Like that. And shouldn't it was just like. Like, we get Chris Hemsworth is known for being door. He's been in other movies. Like, you don't have to make a Joe, and I hope they just cut that scene from the movie because I'm just like it. It's unnecessary. It was cutesy. But I'm like not at you shown it in the trailer. You've ruined the surprise for the movie, and I'm just like, I don't wanna see that. Yeah. Us cut up her. No like, Kim. Can we talk about Liam Niessen being right? Like leasing Liam Niessen awhile. Right. See this my whole thing. I don't even know why Chris Hemsworth until the Thompson in a movie, I liked them. Both both really good actors. I really enjoyed her as a what was her name in creed. D a d okay. Well, whatever the girlfriend. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Who they marry NADA shit. But I really liked her. I've seen her in a few other things and I'm like I like during ragnarok. Shh. I'll just took a minute blight movie with just Liam Niessen. I know he's older. Now, I would have totally fake. Shoulder. And Tommy Lee Jones was old when he did men in black. Got a day to open his crypt up to his ass. Adam Lovie black three and he looked rough. I was kinda said that Wilson was not in this though. No, he's too busy fucking. I mean, I'm sorry. We'll get there. We'll talk about my life because I got some feels on that. But. Tessa Thompson in this the way the trailer is kind of like cut together. It almost seems like she's an alien this time because it's usually like humans and kinda sorta work with aliens, billions are actually agents per se. Right. But seeing something she's like, oh, I've been searching for you for like twenty years, and she's like trying to go through some porno thing and fence or some kinda got the feel like. Like, she was supposed to be a Will Smith character pass on kind of thing. Like, she's kid or something. So I mean that was kind of the feel that I got from that when she's like, oh, I've been searching for twenty years. Oh, why, you know, people don't know about them in black war. Yeah. But but at the same time like I said because it has shot that they show with her like trying to go through that light portal found. It's almost like she was somewhere else like she was trapped somewhere than and, but I did find it funny though, because I get where you're coming from boy as far as like how the character comes off. I think Chris Hemsworth is like the new nights. Sure. Goofy like making jokes ensure Tuesday's tacos it's nine eight which which right? That's kind of funny. You know, I was like whatever I think Christmas is a good comedic actor like sure he's been. Surprising me how funny he is. Because I two door movies serious like dourson voting in audit shitting..

"Instant ways. I felt like her storyline, I really enjoyed Tessa Thompson as well. But I felt like her storyline her carriages probably one of the less developed aspects of very good film regardless. I've heard boots Riley who wrote the film. Say an interviews that he felt like her character was the one that was closest himself. And I've also heard him say that he has wrestled with the goals of political art and how he feels like artists empty. If it does not connect with a movement and actually connect with action, and it seemed like the film was making some kind of commentary on Tessa Thomson's art in perhaps saying that it was too detached from action insofar as it seems kind of random and it was unclear how supposed to feel about her her live performance, her performance art piece? Yeah, in her boyfriend, they were broken time in the movie, but the cash cash screamed character steps in during that scene and tries to tell her shoots getting taken. Advantage of people are throwing people are encouraged to throw things at her during the scene while she recites a line from classic. Black film. Last last dragon, the last dragon and he steps in the debasing you, you know, you shouldn't do this and she persists in in gets through it in the movie. Never really. Explained how was to feel about that with cash is right, which should be into debase or was that something that did? She have a political purpose that just wasn't clear to me her other art in the film where she was kind of doing guerilla street art seemed a lot more purposeful and in line with, I think what boots Riley wants from his own are in terms of engaging directly with with with politics. I don't know if you guys think if feeling the honest not being able to get a full direction from what her actual performance are is supposed to be saying might be intentional in that the guerrilla street aren't made sense in terms of political movement, but with her performance are and kind of the big murals of Africa doesn't really seem to speak to a purpose. And that is kind of a lot of art that is be readily political kind of feels like to me. And I feel like that if this is the character that boots Riley most connects to at think it makes sense that he. Itself is not entirely sure what the purpose of our in this context. It's supposed to be if he himself doesn't know what his art divorce poodle, political context of supposed to be. Yeah, her performance piece. I was like a almost a direct. Knock off. I think of marina Abramovich performance art piece where she gave audience members or like set out a bunch of items like, you know, do anything you'd like to do to me with these items? And I think one of them was a loaded gun. I can check that later record over if that's not true, but. I run interview with Tessa Thompson where she's like, oh yeah, I love marina. Abramovich Bubba. It seemed like a pretty direct call out to that, but. I agree with you, brianna that I feel like her character was really under developed, and it kind of disturbed me whatever message that her character arc was trying to send, I think was pretty twisted just to spoil a little bit of the film. She starts out as girlfriend to cash screen. She gets less interested in him as he becomes a little bit more exploitative in his job, and she's getting more involved in this radical social movement and the union organizing, and then she leaves him for the union organizer briefly and then gets back with him when he Weise's up and joins the movement, and it kind of felt to me like this, maybe a self serving message. But regardless a very twisted message of like women will only have sex with you when you're woke or like women. This prize that you win for joining the revolution and like, don't you want to be part of the crew where you'll get to sleep with Tessa Thompson, otherwise, she'll leave you for the more radical dude? Yeah..
