"Remember when it started now. Specifically, this complaint says that Twitter used information from security questions it was asking to target advertising at $250 million for Twitter is equivalent to the change that you have between the cushions on your couch. Go, go. Sorry. Here's your money. Oh, yeah. Here you go. Leave us alone. Of course I wait. This is a company that I don't how many billions of dollars in Twitter brings in. I mean, it's losing money. I still think that would ever make money. And I don't know the answer to that. But ah, it's $250 million literally is pocket change who got nailed for 2.5 1,000,000,000? I think was Facebook, wasn't it? 2.5 for 3.5 $1,000,000,000 5 It was five against five bees. Yeah, that's a pretty good hit. I mean, $5 billion is I mean, now you know Facebook has Teo be in business another? I don't know. 38 hours to get $5 billion. Yeah, Twitter does. Do you consider net income profit or not? No, Because all of these platforms they lose money, and then they get more money. Look at Ah, Elon Musk and look at Tesla. If it is one of the world's most valuable companies far greater than General Motors or Ford, probably even combined. And does a fraction of the sails and look at the value. So they did. They did turn a profit for the first time in 2018. Now 2020 is going to be a disaster losing users and, of course address. Yeah, that's the big one. So it's been mostly not profitable over its life. Its funny over the last few days, it looks like the twitters. Its actual market share is going Up or the prices anyway. It's a stock's price is at 36 bucks this moments. Evaluation is to say in the story. I know that's what I was looking for, or revenue. No. I had 4.4 billion as of September 2018. Well, but I don't know their that is 250 million bucks. All right, Let's take a break. We'll come back on. We will finish up.

The Best Places in America to Build Wealth By Age

"Yeah. Of the things I love about when we do this show is where show ideas come from right. So obviously a lot of times it comes from the audience sometimes, it comes from something we'll be doing internally. With clients that the wealth management firm but this came from a different place. This whole show was born out of something that you would not think of money got shelby born of. So guys it probably plays out a lot like you think it is around here is that bose office is right next to my? Office and when I come in in the morning I typically I suck all productivity out of the room by going in sitting in one of his chairs and I tell him. So, here's what happened. My daughter is taking a personal finance course and one of the big topics that she had and I was just really incredible is the income tax rate by state and how that impacts as well as the cost of living for rent and other things, and I can still remember the example was San Francisco compared to Portland Oregon, and I'll get into the details later. I was just I told a house like you got to pay attention. This really is an amazing thing on while when you're starting out, you gotta pay attention what tax rates and other things because they really influence. So I was all excited about this idea in abroad a. He of course, pull out. Wait until I turned around and stuck me in the back and then told me this idea was horrible but he did make it better. I give you a lot of credit you you think like I think but you make things. I I think you take it. You bridge the idea into something else because he came up with. Why don't we do this by age of the best places to live because what you're hitting on is different parts of the country have different things, and here's what I didn't realize when we had this conversation 'cause this is probably a month and a half ago. That had this conversation was how current events were going to veer into what we're talking about here because. Just in the last three days Joe. Rogan has announced. He's moving from California to Texas. You hear Tesla is announced. They'll go have a brand new plant that they're going to be building a cyber truck in Texas as well. So you start thinking about, wow, there are things going on and how many articles do we see right now because of what happened with Cova? That people are working from home. Big corporations are announcing. You know what? Maybe we'RE NOT GONNA. Go back to the traditional office based component. We're let you work from wherever I think a lot of people are about to say. If I've a choice. Let me start figuring out what's important to me on the decision making of where I should leave live for Mafia and what I think about brides. We've never actually sat down put pen to, but we actually worked this entire exercise ourselves starting way back in like the early two thousand tins is time figuring out where we want to live like where do we want to put the business where to the families what opportunity to look for? Even, though we had, we didn't have the show pinned at that time. We kind of went through the things that we're going on the show on how you should think about where I live really impacts my financial wellbeing both now and over the long term have you ever noticed corporations will have an entire task force at their job is to figure out where they're going to put it in starting the local communities to essentially bid out, give them tax breaks and other things, and they'll they'll figure out. They'll take the executive teams and figure out where they WANNA live I. Don't think the average American I think most people live where they live because that is close to where they were born family is close to where they went to College A. You know I don't know that people have gone done a deep dive yet spend the entire show. We have so many episodes talking about training your mind to think a certain way thinking about all the tactics to building wealth but one of the most important things is to make sure that you're putting your entire financial empire is rooted in Fertile Soil Yep, and let me give you a perfect example. I lived in Georgia my entire life. Loved it. Now, there's two things that were going on Bo. You are starting to reach a point in your career on new you needed additional opportunities because i. you know the where we lived in an south, Atlanta was just not going to be economically feasible for support me and my family but future advisor wasn't GonNa be the same. So that was then have a special needs daughter Yep. So that kind of the culmination of those things brought together starting to do this research and when I tell people we moved to Nashville after we looked at Naples Florida after we looked at Alfa Reta. George after we looked at Boone North Carolina. I Charleston I mean, we have a whole list of all the different cities we went through and actually pulled up the the data points. People look at me like I have a third, all my head and I'm like, no, this is this was how important this was. So I want to encourage you to think about where you live also a former neighbor who's now back in Chicago. He says his biggest turning point in his career was when he was just a print salesman in Chicago barely you remember these guys from door to door when we were down in south. Atlanta try sell a dismal way to make a living. He took a flyer chance and started doing sells out in California for a technology company changes entire life I mean he's back in Chicago. Now lived in Tennessee for while we have clots. Yeah I think one of the thing that's really interesting Brian is like We're we were talking about this on average personal finance. It was a lot of focus on early part of your career where to decide I want to start my career but this actually permeates through all the different stages of life because what you say we have clients right now that are either at retirement at first retirement or beginning to think about retirement that are starting this process right now figuring okay. This is where I've. Lived my whole life? How do I make the choice of where? I. Want to retire where I want to move to what adjustments I wanna make, and so we're seeing it very practically right now in the lives of real human beings. So don't take for granted where you live because it does have a huge impact I will tell you moving to Nashville we moved here for all those things on that list what we didn't know. Is that when we moved here, we gonNA have access to more creative types have access to people who move out of work video who could do video editing who could do graphics. The fact that we moved to Nashville. has made this business probably we've quadrupled out easily. I mean I don't even know what the past quadruple is toppled is win toppled. Okay. So so I'm just telling you guys if you will change your minds at you might this thing might grow more fruit than you even could put in your

"What this heralds really is fundamentally a new era in space flight, a new era in space exploration. We're gonna go to the moon. We're going to have a base on the moon. We're gonna have send people to Mars and and make life Multi planetary And I think this this day heralds a new age of space exploration. That's what it's all about. So even most very excited about what his company has done and accomplished. There's Ah there's a media outlet there out there called live mint dot com and they've written an interesting article this morning. Love him or hate him. Elon Musk is enjoying a spectacular run. So here's what he's accomplished. Tesla now is 55,000 employees around the world. They're going to build a brand new auto plant in Austin, Texas, for an electric pickup truck. He says his workforce could grow to 65,000 by the end of the year. So test is going to be hiring. He's 49 years old. He's the 10th richest person in the world, according to Bloomberg billionaire Index. So, as the as the headline says, Where the love him or you hate him. He's on He's on the run. You know the world's a more interesting place because he's in it. I mean, he's just eccentric and visionary and odd and interesting. So he comes up with some of these ideas where you go right on. We're going to try to get to Mars and maybe work in the sense of people there and you think, OK, that's kind of a neat idea. And then he comes up with these ideas like we're gonna build tunnels underneath Los Angeles and drive cars you're thinking. Return the hyper loop because I think that's a brilliant idea. That's never gonna happen. You know that Tell the tunnel project is what you're talking about The tunnel project where you drive underneath, But you know how else does innovation happen? Unless you have someone that has a vision and you test it and you put some money into it and see if it'll works. And Dina, I totally agree. But the boring company might not be working. Hyperloop might work. And you need fresh idea, Ugo, you know, you know Warren Buffett was it was a wonderful investor for many, many years, but you almost need an innovator like Elon musk to take us to a new place, right? And even if it doesn't end up exactly what his vision wass usually it's something interesting and unique to the world. Well, plus the fact that the guy's personality is, you know, every once in a while he'll do a podcast your own. Oh, boy. I know he and Joe Rogan together. They have their own show. Okay, let's get you caught up on the National stories now from news, 93.1 KFBK from.

"Okay on this episode of the show a very cool guest. I haven't talked to the student awhile came up kind of last minute, but he's a really interesting guy Michael. Bream is the founder and. CEO, of Ev West. A company that builds and Converts Electric Cars down. In San, Diego area they have done some really cool streetcars. They've done some really cool race cars. They've raised pikes peak and pretty soon, they are going to Bonneville with their newest project. So here to talk about it on the zoom the CEO of e West Michael Bream. On small tar podcast. I've already done it. I've done it in the in the on awkwardness my own home. How are Ya antastic? You'd see. Yeah. What's I mean you know Since we last talked there's been quite a lot of development in the world of Evil Hot Rod. You can buy E v Crate Motors. Now I mean you know what a world right? I mean, it comes in a crate or why don't you tell me if you bought one of these things I mean GM brought that that electric crate And I took some kind of interest in it didn't you? Yeah, we did. We actually have easy west parts in there and cooled I. Think you know the reality is, is they try to make off in sound simple and Bolton but it's it's quite difficult and a lot of these guys are kind of in the space to get attention Yamaha motors recently of did something like that they're putting out a crate motor and we called Yamaha and they're like, no, it's not. It's really. Out there. Actually openly admitted like. Fishing there we just threatened the pond. This is such bullshit because you know often I, hear from people who want me to comment on the fact that. The new cafe standards are impossible to it's like, do you know how easy it is to say that we're going to go full ev by twenty thirty and then roll that Shit back in twenty twenty five when no one even remembers and your long. In Our news. Cycle. Say Anything and the news cycle is so short that by the time you walk it back later once it's clearly impossible just nobody gives a shit. The Craig's is GonNa Have Bluetooth work on blockchain. Put bitcoin right that yeah, it's it's interesting Matt I was just thinking about that the other day like if somebody could do like a best hits real and just go back through like GM announcements and I mean I feel like we've been told like three or four times from every automaker, they're having an electric truck or this out of the other thing and here it is twenty, twenty and Where are they right? Well, A-. Onto, something right isn't it we're really is a reinvite we're gonNA see Arena I mean that's a good point. You cannot buy not buy it and they don't have a fan I love Ribian. Let me tell you I love her the and I think got the best shot of anyone but they don't even have a factory built yet. Do you think they have a better shot of building a truck than than Tesla does? Want to die. Early And then into politics. Ev Crate Motors but it's important. To note the building an electric truck or a heavy duty vehicles, extremely difficult and extremely expensive, and so This isn't a model three or a key Niro or whatever they're trying market. They're trying to bring up a full size truck and compete with you know the Ford F, one, fifty, soul Arado, etc. that is You know no small task of the and again we're talking about essentially start up companies to this date haven't produced anything and I think Riviera's far far far ahead of everyone but you look at companies like Nikola and some of the other companies that are essentially trying to get her capital off of computer enters

Why Your Business Needs an Enemy

"Successful companies have defined enemies and you need an enemy in your business to go after Apple's enemy is the PC Tesla's enemy. Our fossil fuels are any cars are running on fossil fuels. Expedience enemy is your local travelagent overcharging you for your next trip. This is clearly defined in their marketing in their sales in their messaging, and there's a reason why they do it. They do it because it's important for you to define who you're not who you are. Trying to be the opposite of and this has a lot to do with human psychology as consumers. We know what we don't want. We don't necessarily know what we want, but we know what we don't want. So automatically, if you say, we are not this all the things that people get annoyed by you say, yeah, I don't like this and you automatically resonate with their brand who's defining that problem defining enemy some of the most successful marketing has been. Painting a business or brand against an enemy Sega did this in the nineties with Sega genesis pitting itself against Nintendo, and then later Sony playstation do the same thing with crash bandicoot against Nintendo clearly saying we're going after these people some beginners beginner entrepreneurs will say, well, that's kind of risky. What if that doesn't? Now there's no risk in that landing it's either going to resonate strongly people people are going to be like I don't know if I like that but it won't be vanilla it can't be ignored. The worst thing in business is being ignored and that's why it's very important for you define your stance we are not this we are here because we don't like how these people are doing things. The reason why this also works so well is because it gets in front of the idea that consumers are shopping around there comparing you against the competition and by getting in front of your saying, Hey, this is why were better we are not like this we're like this. This is also common in software web flow, which is a website building application for designers. Mainly, they have dedicated pages on how they compare against their competitors whether it's wordpress or squarespace they go head to head they don't shy away from it. They say these are our competitors. This is why we're better. This is why we created web flow. A lot of new businesses don't want to do this because they're afraid they think maybe Goliath is going to be down on David in the big company is going to get angry and retaliate or something like that. No, they're a big company. This is. Fair game they know it and they're dealing with our other competition as well. They understand the people that are the top of the mountain are going to be challenged and as the underdog people love an underdog story the love seeing and undertake on the big company and say we don't like the way they're doing their bloated there you know slow they're this they're that and we're here to give you something new if you WanNa. See a very good example of this. It's hey dot com I mentioned in an earlier episode this week behave dot com is a new email software it's basically a. To g? Mail. Is created by the guys behind base camp, and they clearly say that g mail is their enemy or traditional email is their enemy, and this is why they're better and they go after the competition to go after their enemy the our enemy does this this this? They don't respect your privacy they make email a chore. You waste so much time in your inbox again, your customers. Can really resonate with pain. They can really resonate with things. They hate, we all know we hate. So automatically when you are the person that's defining this, they feel like this person has a solution that's defining the enemy really does it really clearly states we're not this. We don't do this to you or all about this that contrast is really powerful marketing that contrast is really good for your brand. In also drives everything your business. So you know exactly who you are a lot of us we get lost when we do our marketing or email marketing or paid ads or even our copy on our website, and we're not really sure who we are. This clearly defines when you have an enemy, you know what you're not, and therefore the opposite who you are the other reason why this is so strong and it's so powerful. Is that when people? Shop around they come to your website they'll learn okay, this is your enemy. These are the people that you are going against. They might not even know that your competitor has some flaws and by visiting our website, they start reconsidering go into the competitor they're like, oh. Wow. I. Didn't know that people say that about the competitors I didn't know that this is what I'm in for. I didn't know that there are alternatives and because you're not trying to. Be a me too product and saying, Hey, we do this too. We do this to having a clear enemy and and really expressing that in the language of your website and your marketing really shows hey, there's a better way to do things you don't have to go with the status quo.

Panasonic Talks Energy Density

"Are at with that out of. Of the way, let's get sort of the main news here, and this is on Panasonic batteries. This is per a Reuters report, they spoke with Panasonic's of US v Batteries and they report quote Panasonic corporate plans to boost the energy density of twenty. One, seventy battery cells supplies to test link by twenty percent in five years and commercialize a cobalt free version in two to three years. The head of its US battery business said and quote they also report that Panasonic has already cut the content. Content to less than five percent of Nikko Cobalt, Aluminum Cathode, which by the way I have to apologize about because the other day in an episode, I, was saying nickel manganese cobalt. So embarrassing, but anyway, Rogers also says that Panasonic already with the twenty one, seventy cells has improved energy density by more than five percent, and while they declined to link the further twenty percent increase to Tesla's future vehicles, they did say that in September, they will start converting lions at gigafactory Nevada quote as. As a prepares to further boost the energy density of the cells Takemoto set and quote. So overall I think pretty exciting information here though a bit limited in terms of what we actually can learn from it. We don't know if the energy density here for his two volume metric or gravel metric, and we also don't really know if that increase in energy density will coincide with a reduction in cost as well. Though presumably, it would because if you make more energy dense battery cells you need. Need fewer battery cells to actually power the thing that you were trying to power with those batteries. So I think presumably cost beneficial as well, and unlikely that Panasonic would be pushing for something if there was not eventually going to be a cost benefit from it or at least be affordable enough to have a viable use case at scale I think it's also exciting that they have a cobalt free version in the works for two to three years from now, but the twenty percent energy density. Density improvement is a five year goal. So presumably, that twenty percent increase would be after extracting out all the cobalt from the process thinking about that twenty percent increase in energy density though over five years from compound annual growth rate perspective, that's three point, seven percent per year, which I think does sound about right looking at the historical progress. If we look at the Model S. from two, thousand, twelve to two, thousand, twenty, the range on the Model S. increased from two, hundred, sixty, five miles. Miles EPA all the way up to four hundred and two miles. So that's a five point, three percent compound annual growth rate in the available range. But of course, not all of that is attributable to the energy density of the battery cell. There's a lot of efficiencies within the powertrain and even things like wheels and tires that are contributing to that rate. So the improvement in energy density is likely below that though again, really it's improvement in energy density per cost. That is most important. Important looking forward, if that twenty percent improvement was applied to the range on the model three today and the Monterey today that would put the model three range at about three, hundred, eighty, six miles up from three, hundred, twenty, two miles if it were just a straight twenty percent increase and then similarly for the Mata, why it would go from three, hundred, sixty, miles, two, hundred and seventy nine. But again, that's just the increase from the battery cells that assumes no other progress throughout the rest. Rest of the powertrain or the battery pack or innovations that allow for reduction in weight of the vehicle, things like that. That will also, of course, happen over time. The other option that energy density improvements allow for is obviously to put the same amount of energy in less space or with less weight, which would improve the vehicle's efficiency. So even with the same energy, call it seventy, five kilowatt hours, the vehicle would travel farther because of that increased energy density and may be the range. Range go up to three, thirty or three forty with the same energy capacity. The overall point here is that better improvements are going to keep happening. Those improvements are going to open up a lot of different options for electric vehicle makers and Tesla's best positioned to capitalize on the Trent.

"Our here and stay WanNa talk a little bit about any on Musk tweet from yesterday on Tesla potentially licensing its technology, and then we have a number of other fun topics to go through Tesla's ten q quarterly filing securitization of Lisa's as well as tussles credit rating, and also a Morgan Stanley note I promise it'll be more fun than they sound. All right. We'll start off with the licensing topic yesterday Elon Musk on twitter replied to a tweet from Tesla Roddy about an article which they titled Quote Tesla Obsessive German Automakers looked to solve multi year tech deficit and quote you replied to that article saying quote Tesla is open to licensing software and supplying powertrains. And batteries we're just trying to accelerate sustainable energy, not crush competitors and what. So this has received a lot of attention and I think caught a lot of people maybe by surprise but this is nothing new from Tesla. The same question was actually asked to Alana on their third quarter earnings call last year and replied quote yeah I think there's it would be consistent with the mission of Tesla, to help other car companies with electric vehicles on the battery and Powertrain Front possibly on other fronts. So it's something we're open to as a lot of people know we open source star patents so that does not serve as an obstacle to the adoption of electric vehicles. Solar power or stationary storage, and we're definitely open to supplying batteries and powertrains, and perhaps other things other car companies and quote, and of course, over time Elon Musk has been very consistent with the super charger network being available to other automakers as long as they sort of came in with good faith and did their part in expanding the network and things like that. He's mentioned discussions about that in the past. But so far nothing has come to fruition though another startup Boeing Motors did respond to John's tweet on this and ask if they could use the super charger network. So maybe we would see something come of that but getting back to the main point. This isn't really new though did hear mentioned specifically software which I don't think he has done in the past and he also responded to a tweet asking about if that would include autopilot to which he responded shirt all this isn't necessarily new. I do still want to give my thoughts on it as I've said before I think it's unlikely at least in the near term that Tesla will do any sort of licensing on powertrain and batteries. If we think about that, you must have just said on the last call that pretty much looking out in perpetuity their biggest constraint is going to be some part of the battery supply chain stating that another way that means. That every single battery Tesla can get their hands on obviously within a certain threshold in terms of performance cost Tesla has plans in place to be able to utilize all those batteries. They don't have access to mark up share with another automaker that is then going to apply their own markup on that portion of the vehicle cost, and then put that in the market at a much higher price than Tesla can do themselves by removing that extra layer of markup direct quote here from on on the Q. to call, he says, quote, the real limitation on Tesla growth is cell production at an affordable price that's the real limit and quote later on in the call. He. Then says quote like the thing that bugs me the most about where we are now is that our cars are not affordable enough. We need to fix that and quote. So selling the resource that you're most constrained on to your competition, which is then going to sell it into the market is completely incongruent with the goals of growth and increasing affordability. So that's my overall point of view..

Tesla Q2-20 Earnings Report

"Everybody. Round our here and today we are continuing our discussion. On TUSLA's second quarter earnings report yesterday we went through a lot of the financials and tassels announcement about gigafactory Texas today I wanna go through more of the takeaways from Tesla's conference. Call The stock on the day to day. Probably the reaction everyone was hoping for from the market, but finished down five percent. Percent to one thousand five hundred thirteen dollars, seven cents that did compared to the Nasdaq, though with a rough day as well down two point three percent, and if we look at the charts, the direction of moves were pretty similar with Tesla's movement, just being amplified from the macro environment given the rising expectations heading into earnings, which as we discussed the whisper number. Number that was posted by barons was for a positive fifty cents per share, which of course ended up being the number I don't think it's too surprising to see Tesla not deviate to the upside from the macro environment here, especially given the outsized impact that regulatory credit sales had on that earnings number, but as we talked about yesterday, even stripping out those regulatory. Regulatory Credit Sales I'm still very happy with the financial results Tesla Post. oftentimes it just takes a while for the markets. Really figure out what it wants to do. For example after the pretty good results from key one dull stock was down about twelve percent two days afterwards, but two months afterward was up forty percent and tussles performance today, not really all that. That bad compared to other stocks apple, for example with sound four and a half percent Amazon down three and a half percent all right that being said, let's go through some of the main takeaways from the earnings call I want to start off here with batteries autonomy, and then I think the third leg of the triangle manufacturing which yellen reiterated on this call. Call thinks will be the long term sustainable advantage of Tesla. We talked a little bit about this yesterday, but I think one of the most interesting points that yuan made on batteries was on lithium, iron, phosphate, versus Nick Manganese Cobalt as we've talked about in the past lithium iron phosphate is energy dense as Nicomedes, cobol but Tesla has made such progress in their. Their powertrain efficiency and in areas like heating, ventilating and air conditioning that they are now able to use lithium iron phosphate in their vehicles and still get an acceptable range. This is important for a few reasons I think. The primary reason is because as Tusla continues to try to ramp very aggressively. They obviously need a lot of batteries. Yulon did address their constraints. Constraints on the colony said pretty much at any given point in time there's going to be some constraint within the battery supply chain, and whenever that constraint is, that's going to be the thing that determines the rate of growth, so if Tesla can now use two different technologies to different cathode chemistries that allow them to use different raw materials that diversity in supply. Supply chain or the addition of another chemistry supply chain should really help them grow more quickly at Nealon was very complimentary of the supply chains that exist in China and China is very heavily focused on lithium iron phosphate. Additionally, my understanding of the raw materials is that they should be cheaper for lithium iron phosphate, though sometimes those equations are not simple as they seem. Seem because he need to factor in things like using more cells of with your mind, phosphate to get the same energy that you could get from fewer cells of nickel, manganese cobalt, for example regardless if you are ramping production aggressively and plan to continue that for a long time, that diversity of resources is really important. You don't WanNa put all the pressure on. On one resource if they're resources-scarce, obviously that would cause the price to rise, and as we heard you on the call yesterday. Tesla really really needs nickel utilizing with your mind, phosphate reduces that need a little bit still. There are cases where Tesla's going to need that. Higher Energy density associated with nickel manganese cobalt. You mentioned that that would be the case for. For vehicles like the semi and the roadster, while we're on the semi here, I'll just round out some of the comments on that. Unfortunately, we didn't get any information on a production rate target for the semi, and despite that leaked email from Elon saying it was time to bring the semis volume production, tesla did reiterate and the update letter that deliveries for the. The semi will start in two thousand twenty one. They stated that again on the call, and also said as they have said in the past that the first deliveries of the Tesla semi will be to Tesla itself for essentially more extensive long-term validation, though they did add that some long-term loyal customers will also get some Tesla. Semis early on other points on the. The semi Jerome I believe and Ilana emphasized that they were able to think about ramping the semi now because of some reductions and battery constraints that they are anticipating a lot of that is the lithium iron phosphate stuff that we talked about? But they did tease things that they have planned for Battery Day. Yuan also said that they continue to expect to expand. Expand battery supply with others I think he specifically mentioned Panasonic LG and say l., but then also said that there will be more on that subject on battery. Day implying that do for the vertical integration in the battery supply chain, or at least that was my take. Oh, and also last thought on the semi. It's always fun to hear. Jerome talk about it. It, he's clearly very excited to get rolling and he mentioned. There's a lot of new things that they've integrated in the semi which are pretty impressive, so lots look forward to. They're all right next up I. WanNa, talk about autonomy. We've heard Ilan talk about a lot of these things, but we did get a little bit more context or details on autonomy in. The specifically Ilan talked about how he has been testing the newest update of autopilot, which of course is the core rewrite version, which he essentially described as the difference between looking at a picture and going to surround video, explaining that today autopilot essentially functions in two and a half dimensions, the Tutti being looking at a picture, and then the half dimension, being what he described as a harsh correlation with time, but not really a good. Good one and then described the core rewrite as being four dimensional so three dimensional visual space with the fourth dimension, being a smooth understanding of time. You noted that it's really difficult to convey better. A forty system works you on mentioned that he has of course been testing the core rewrite in his vehicle, and that it really is profoundly better than people realize saying quote really profoundly better. It's like amazing and quote and then. Then it's getting close to being able to take him from home to work without any interventions despite going through intersections of course and things like construction zones whatever the case may be,

Tesla picks Austin, Texas for $1 billion 'gigafactory'

"Get back to Tesla, the company, just announcing Austin as the location of its new gigafactory gene monsters been listening in on the earnings. Call Jane. What's new? Austin's new Melissa I mean this was largely expected, but really lays the groundwork for the company to ramp production recall that they reiterated that five hundred thousand vehicle target for twenty twenty in need to grow to fifteen million vehicles of the next ten years least on Musk, a target, so Austin is new, and they also expect to have three more factories in the next five years, which big name to six total factory, so when I think about this. Three hundred billion dollar market cap and think. How can this be a much bigger company? One is for them to scale into that news round at in Austin. The second I think really critical piece here. It's going to be largely ignored. Here is Elon. Musk's first comment was about Austin. His second was about their solar business. This nascent called five percent of their overall revenue, but the fact that he is mentioning that I believe he's starting to educate the market about Tesla being much. Much more than a car company, a pride myself on being levelheaded in even keeled adult. Want you to think that I've totally drank. The KOOLADE here but I think that this company can take its existing technology around batteries, motors, and what they're doing in full self-driving apply more to the energy market in create much more than three hundred billion dollar market cap. "To for a discounted rate, and a big part is regulatory credit so total automotive sales I have just over five point two billion. That's about three hundred million dollars above what the company compiled consensus was at and the first reason for that. That is regulatory sales, so these are a huge wildcard. This quarter last quarter they were three hundred and fifty four million dollars that was the largest in Tesla's history likely due to the agreement Tesla, Fiat Chrysler have made for tussle to help offset fiat-chrysler emissions in the EU. We don't have a lot of detail on how that deal is structured and with Fiat Chrysler deliveries in Europe in Q.. Two likely being down pretty significantly, it may be that the credits are down as well for Tussin. Cue from that deal I am showing a decline. Decline here. I'm forecasting three hundred million in regulatory credit sales, but the analysts consensus as about two hundred, thirty million, so I, am a bit higher, there but I feel okay about that. Because Tesla is going to recognize some of their deferred revenue from self driving this quarter, due to the release of traffic light and stop sign control. When Tesla first released smart summon, they recognized about thirty million dollars I would expect that traffic light and stops on control would be a little bit higher than that may be fifty to one hundred million and. And I'm kind of just throwing that in with this regulatory credit bucket as a wildcard and I can really see the combination of those two things ranging anywhere from. Let's say around two hundred million all the way up to about four hundred and fifty million, so I'm Sorta amid pointing on a little bit more of the conservative side here I hope at three hundred million dollars, so those credits would be a reason that I'm a little bit higher than the consensus here. I think the other reasons are probably a combination of me having more. More model Monowai vehicles in my estimate. I'm about fifteen thousand I don't know how the consensus breaks it down, but the average selling price on the model. Why is obviously higher than model three, so that ends up impacting revenue, and then the balance is probably just me forecasting model, three average selling prices a bit higher, then the street, the other two revenue buckets, our energy and services and other I have these both down about twenty to twenty five percent from key one and those forecasts are based on my assumptions for relative downtime for Tesla..

You on, replied saying quote. are going really well Gigi Shanghai I'm incredibly proud of the tussle team. They're doing an amazing job and I look forward to visiting Gigi Shanghai as soon as possible. It's really impressive the work that's been done. I really can't say enough. Good things. Thank you to the Tesla. China team and quo nothing too surprising. There Alon has consistently been very complimentary about the progress factory Shanghai, and then on the question which I thought was a really interesting question. He answered quote. We expect. Expect over time to use more a I and essentially software and our factory but I think it will take a while to really employ a effectively in factory, situation and quote, so this obviously brings to mind that the big push for more automation that Tesla and Yulon had around the time of the model three launch, and they seem to learn some pretty our lessons around that time, and perhaps came to value the flexibility and adaptability of humans, a little bit more, probably the most. Most prominent example from that period of time it was the infamous fluffer Bot, which was a machine designed by Tesla to use a vision system to add a fiberglass mat, or what he said was essentially fluff to the top of the battery pack for sound insulation, but fluffer about would have trouble picking and placing Matt causing production to slow down, and then the Cherry on top Tesla actually found that there was no difference in sound from using that insulation. That went that you on. On saying humans are underrated, and we haven't heard quite as much from Tesla on automation of factories since that point in time, though obviously is still one of their goals, and they are still looking for ways to simplify and improve the manufacturing process, the utilization of the giant casting machines for Mata why rather than multiple stamped pieces is just one recent example I do wish would have gone into a little bit more detail on this topic though I think it's under appreciated, but. But as with most topics these days, maybe we'll learn a little bit more about this. During Battery Day. The other quick thing that stuck out to me from comments was that there will be original engineering and design teams in China, not just converting over from American designs. Yulon had briefly comments on this I believe at the model three launch from Shanghai, when he said quote. I think something that would be super cool would be too, and so we're gonNA, do it. We're going to. To try to do, it would be create China Design and Engineering Center to actually design an original car in China for worldwide consumption and quote so good to see basic reiteration of that concept with a little bit more certainty here at the average truck unveiling, or maybe he mentioned it at the motto unveiling about the cyber truck unveiling Yuan said that that would be the last product reveal for quite some time, and that this would be a year of execution. Tussles already announced. Announced Products, but the excitement that there is going to be for the next product unveiling for Tesla whether that's twenty, one or twenty twenty two is going to be insane. Interest in Tesla is just continuing to increase the subscriber count of the separate. It can be a proxy for that. Heading into the cyber truck event had had about five hundred and fifty thousand subscribers. Now it has over seven hundred thousand, so let's call it one hundred and seventy thousand new subscribers just since last. Last November and the number of users holding Tesla stock in Robin. Hood has increased from about one hundred, twenty, thousand to almost four hundred thousand now, since November, so in another year or two things are going to get pretty crazy anyway, that'll wrap it up for today.

"Right now is priced around forty seven thousand dollars in the US. The average selling price on that very interesting well above fifty. Fifty thousand dollars. Let's say fifty two thousand dollars. For this example, it also seems likely that Tesla has either already hit is rapidly approaching or soon to surpass one hundred dollars per kilowatt hour for battery cost, so let's assume that they hit that target. By the time. I one hundred kilowatt hour pack would be launched for these lower end vehicles that means for Tesla to go from seventy five kilowatt hour pack to a one hundred kilowatt hour pack would only have an incremental cost of twenty five hundred dollars that means if Tessa were to. To simply add that battery capacity and keep the pricing the same. There'd be lowering their gross margin by twenty five hundred dollars per vehicle. If we assume that today there at a twenty five percent gross margin on those higher versions of the model three that would mean from our example average selling price of fifty two thousand dollars. That's would be generating thirteen thousand dollars in gross margin on each of those vehicles. If they were to add twenty hundred dollars in cost that would take the margin down from thirteen, thousand to ten, thousand, five, hundred or Or the margin percent down from this example of twenty five percent to just above twenty percent. That's a hit two margin for sure, but it is feasible, and there are other factors to consider the most obvious. Is that more people at that point in time should be on for full self, driving and Tesla at that time should be able to actually accrue instead of defer that margin and revenue meaning that margins are naturally going to rise over time which buys tesla wiggle for these types of things I mean just a couple of weeks backer. Backer among back we saw a two thousand production to the model three. All versions, and we hardly even batted an eye at that, because of all these other factors, the same logic that apply to that price cut in terms of the margins also applies. If were to add cost of goods sold by adding more energy capacity, the dollar amounts are actually shockingly close, so it'd be almost the exact same move for Tesla upgrade from seventy five kilowatt hours. Two hundred kilowatt hour packs as it was for them to drop the price by a couple thousand. Thousand dollars another factor increasing the possibility of this would be that at the time that Tessa deployed one hundred kilowatt hour pack the model. Why should be ramped up pretty significantly? Tesla has said that the cost of goods sold for the why should be similar to the model three, so it's going to have higher margins be margin, accretive meaning Tesla could capture the same over all total company gross margin while lowering at the margin on the model three..

Hopefully Australia though there are fires and he did talk about it on Friday and it did piss him off and it pisses me off as well. Today is January twentieth here in the United States. That's Martin Luther. King Day. A day of Citizen Action Volunteerism in honor of the slain Martin Luther King so go out and do something worthwhile so first story comes from ARS TECHNICA ABOUT TESLA The most valuable car company in America America so Tesla's always been sort of neck and neck with four General Motors. They're going back and forth but now clearly with Tesla's stock price in the range of four ninety eight to five hundred and forty four dollars a share over the last week Tesla is valued at about ninety billion dollars dollars. That is a F- ton as far as American car companies go because number two now. GM which happens to make twenty times as many cars as tesla is valued at fifty billion dollars and Ford which makes about six times as many cars as Tesla is valued at thirty seven. Seven billion dollars then makes Tesla more value than both of them combined. Wow why why why people are asking. Why would tesla be worth so much but remember and you probably do since? You're part of the talking. Tesla nation. Tesla is more than a car company. Yes they make great cars but they also have amazing. Potential potential tech including Tesla energy with battery storage for both home and commercial uses. They've got tech in the cars that is going to surpass and make other cars stupid cards. Right that's what we say in the Intro to talking. Tesla Tesla has really good margins. They make more money on each of their cars than typically car car manufacturers. Do they usually have a much narrower margin of error of of of Prophet Amazing Brand Loyalty Amazing Growth. Look look at how Tesla has grown over the last ten years from essentially zero to where it is now the world governments are continually working to incentivize electric vehicles halls and Tesla is really well poised to take advantage of that Tesla's tech is improving at breakneck speeds including autopilot battery Tech Safety in the cars and I for one can definitely speak to that. And then there's the apple effect like apple who is a brand that people Want has prestige has integration. It works well. It makes your life easier but it's more expensive and people are willing to pay considerably anymore for apple products to have that sort of turn key roundabout system that works really well for them and the same thing goes for Tesla people are are are willing to drop some more cash for the prestige and the unique features of a Tesla for example. Today I was a Thai food with the kid kid and afterwards we were feeling a little full. DidN'T WANNA quite get into the traffic so we sat in the car at the curb in front of the Thai restaurant. And what do we do. We watch the witcher on net flicks in the car with as he said amazing surround sound. It was what a kick kick. I won't say it. It was a great experience and then we lay down some tracks using the tracks program. Have you tried that T. R. A. X. Tracks you can get the baby as trump you can it was. It was really cool. Really really cool so that leads to my next feel good story this one from insight vs they're talking about a spike in the Chinese gigafactory made model. Three Sales Tesla recently dropped the price for the model three in China it was selling for about fifty thousand. US and they dropped the price to forty two thousand nine hundred which is like sixteen percent and that led to a spike in orders they reported boarded as many as twelve hundred cars ordered a day. which is a big spike? Considering the fact that Tesla has been planning to to make two hundred and fifty thousand cars this year which only translates to about six hundred eighty-five cars a day. So if there's no way all those people could get the car. If they order at that pace at one of the service centers in Shanghai Arts A- they call them customer experience centers the a salesman was quoted as saying quote. Our store looks like a grocery market so many people inside. I lost my voice talking to so many customers nonstop and and in the Thai Gucci. Tie gooey yeah I gotTa work on my Chinese at the Tiger who he tesla experienced center. They they were packed to the point where people were having to wait outside to be able to go inside to look at the model. Three huge success What's that that could do to the stock price? I think that's part of the reason. Why the analyst from Oppenheimer upped his price point for Tesla to be over six hundred dollars a share and that leads me to eat lan? And how does he get paid. You may not recall but maybe do you on makes something in trivial like a dollar a year as the CEO of Tesla but he has a performance package. He had one performance package earlier. Oh you're in Tesla's history like the first ten years and then two years ago in Twenty Eighteen Tesla's board convinced quote Unquote Yvonne to stay on as CEO of Tesla and they signed a performance package. That went something like this when the company's well so he had to meet milestones. The first milestone was that the company had to make a twenty billion dollars a year in sales. They did that in October. And then the stock value had to go above one hundred billion dollars and as I said from that first story the valuation of Tesla's stock is about ninety a billion dollars if it goes to five fifty three a share and esteemed than the company stock value will be over a hundred billion and along John gets the first of his performance valuation packages. which is one percent of Tesla's stock one percent of Tesla stock when it's worth one hundred million dollars is a billion dollars and then it goes on from there? Tesla's goes up another fifty billion to one hundred fifty billion he gets a percent and every fifty billion dollar increment up to six hundred and fifty billion. which would be a very valuable company he gets? It's one percent per fifty billion increase so at the point that Tesla's stock if it does reach six hundred and fifty billion dollars. He'll own thirty two percent of the Tesla's stock and will be the wealthiest living being in the solar system which is pretty impressive. especially if you're trying to get to Mars ars it's It's good probably help him. Pay For a lot of that. Lastly one more thing for Ilan to celebrate yesterday Sunday ee. John and the SPACEX team Passed with flying colors a crew dragon inflight abort test so the Falcon Falcon nine took off on Sunday morning. It launched a dragon crew capsule with the trunk up to space. They went past. Max Q which is that point point at which the maximum pressure is happening on the whole spaceship. That's like a high stress high failure moment. Just after that they shutdown the Falcon nine engines which could be a fatal thing in other words that whole thing falling to Earth full of a bunch of fuel with astronauts. Bad Bad news. Then the JETSON SPACEX capsule with the Super Drako engines off the Falcon nine detached. The trunk let the little. Oh capsule reorient. And then launched shoots brought it down into the ocean. It was flawless at least from what I could see. And they're still analyzing all the parts and stuff there. It was an amazing explosion when the Falcon nine started tumbling and then full of fuel or at least a bunch of fuel exploded. It was cool. I sent out some tweets with some photos. There's tons of media on the INTERWEBS. Go check it out next March. We will have Bob Benkin and Doug Hurley the two astronauts. Let's take off in that dragon capsule and go to the International Space Station. That will be a moment for celebration. This is Robert. This is Alon daily. Really don't be confused. It's not talking Tesla but it is part of the talking Tesla Network of shows. See You tomorrow..

"And you see that there's a line of Qasr waiting hang on us sick. And the infrastructure doesn't look good. If you're a truck driver semi truck driving. You're like, well, I wonder if my company should get. A truck a super charger tesla truck, and you go by the supercharge people wedding like well a white to fill up. That's not going to be any good. If you're a pickup truck ONA hole on your stuff around doing a lot of miles doing construction. Do whatever you do you go past the super Charon as lawn and you're like, I'm not getting the new test the semi because look at this things impacted optics is really I know of said one hundred tons I get that most of the time the super charges are empty. There's almost nobody there in the middle of the night or in the middle of the day. But it doesn't matter. You have to have a way to do with the fact that on high travel days, you can't have people waiting. It is a problem. It's a problem that means you have to massively ova build the network all you've got a radically increase the speed and you've got to radically increase the speed. So that when there are like twenty people waiting, it's a five ten minute charge. And they only way I can see that that happens. Is it a super charger has a massive battery and even then most of the time that's wasted. Nobody's going to be there. So I would love to hear a really in-depth discussion about their plans for supercharging in the face of so many Tesla's coming in the face of the fact that yeah, you could fix the problem just having superchargers everywhere that Faust charging, but that as I massive infrastructure, build, and I think we may have heard a little bit about that. And that is sharing the supercharge network being able to use false judging like in Europe, they're going to have a CCS plug is it CCS CCS combo blue. They can have that on Tesla's, and tesla might actually share the network with other people. So you get to the point where they are fast charging everywhere because there's a couple of different networks, and you can into use them. And so it's going to the gas station, you know, every now and then the gestation full that across the road. There's a guest that's not that's where we go to get this infrastructure too. But I'm anxious about because. I the optics of this bed legend, Jim boondoggles thanksgiving. I wanna get. Thanks, tesla. Love tesla. What illness trying to do is incredibly important? I never want people to think that I do not appreciate more than appreciate unlike. This guy's got to win. This is gonna work. Tesla has the work. But I'm just sort of pointing out some of the I think obvious things and to me, the supercharge network is the key. We have to have so many more. They have to be so much faster. We have to overbill capacity and just do not see with their current plans that that is happening. Let's see what happens with super charger three have a great thanksgiving new big show next week and extra should tell you what we're gonna do. Because number of you vast heb that some visuals can you put a video on? So what I'm going to do is. I'm going to set it up in the studio. So that you can see the boys you can put the stupid show together. And we'll also have a laptop this. He can see which articles were talking about bringing some visuals and also strip out the audio for those people that just want to have the. Odio in the car kind of thing. We'll give that Abeche boys goes show is talking Tessa. Thanks for listening. I know I'm whining..

"You don't have light so it does make it easy you just kind of throw it on the hip and you just get it over there and about being about a boom but then the question comes what do you go to what about it i don't know i don't know but when you have to go over to the question becomes what you knew and really nothing sponsorship well the nicest rv that you can possibly think of that's where i go i asked people around fight you know gas stations are open and twenty five gyms there's really those are where and luckily i'm not as old as these guys yet and i can control my bodily functions and you're pointing at both robert a nice sporty let's go post forty yeah well you know when i was i did a lot of backpacking and camping and mountaineering and we used to carry now gene bottles which were very handy wide mouth as you say leader the problem that i discovered firsthand was that you know it's the night you're in a in a snowbound place in in a very nice warm sleeping bag and you manage to do exactly what you described unzipping boom you lean to the side exactly and then sometime later in the night you realize you're at altitude your mouth is parched you really thirsty and you don't really wanna wake up but you're reaching around for bottles and you find a bottle that's full and so the trick is this modify the cap so on analogy you could not the cap with a knife without cutting all the way through it so that if you start to unscrew your bottle and you feel a notch you must re tighten the bottle and find another bottle it's perfect the haptic feedback for knowing that it's a pistol versus a drinking so that's that's a glorious tip that i'm glad we covered completely till we have branded tesla glam ping bottles of for pissing yeah for pissing exactly all right talking tesla nation get to twitter now and make happen everyone elon musk tesla pissed bottles hashtag tesla pissed model excellent so i wanna know specifically what are you sleeping on because if i go ahead and make an investment and some kind of a mattress or a or a blow up thing i won't have a comfortable night's sleep yeah i think.

"Everybody who really has it together has a fruit hammock where's your fruit hanoch so it's in my logo and that's about as far as it goes yeah in my logo the hammock dangles from falcon wing doors and people actually asked me oh do you actually sit in that mike no it can't hold the door can't hold any weight and get started about the doors i did try to pull up once on it and for the picture at worked but yet no i you know my my tesla pod is comfortable enough i don't you know i'm pretty content with being in there and i would imagine the fruit hamid would go against your idea of keeping the car as nobody's living in it meeting it's clean and yeah i mean i've seen your car and you would have no idea that somebody resides at that address yeah so where does the mailman or the amazon guy find yes yeah yeah just give them my license plate number and say just get the drone out and find me no i i do have a po box in the bay area okay where i try to spend most my time but it doesn't work out that way because why not be everywhere yeah and that's when i order something that i really need algo back and grab it or you know when i'm in the area so that's that's what i do for now okay and robert view on a deep dive into ridiculous rabbit hole look up location independent and there's an entire lifestyle based on living working still remotely but with the ability to live anywhere in the world and so at a lot of people who are locations to will do is create a po box and the po box will actually scandal the mail so they'll send you say something saying you have five items one's a bank stay many like well that's online need it and then there's something from the tax office and then you'll basically check and say semi this and then the po box will scan it for you and send it to you so that what you never actually have to show up at that physical address fascinating i guess that's might term because i'm rather locked down but that's a cool idea you know you could have you know i work from this pete's coffee on thursdays and you might find me that starbucks on saturdays and you have your circuit and thinking about you know a lot of folks who retire definitely do this guys are definitely not in that category although i don't know if you're tesla's stocks have vested and you could retire vs but folks do this you know they cycle through the country based on the weather and the weather patterns which snowbirds yeah now i think becomes a little bit more difficult since the weather patterns are getting a little more upset i wonder why because they're doing enormous rv's and i love rv parks but the arby's can get a bit smaller not needs of four thousand square feet so when the semi comes out who's gonna grab a semi for camping life set up that's my goal really yeah wow it would be right going large always america right right i mean you could have a traveling hotel you could show up in a town and say i'm gonna be in scottsdale during the winter and who wants to come live in the tesla hotel back my roadster out of the semi and let people run out this mice to sleep and really give them the experience maybe give them a test drive in the roadsters while but we'll see nice will you live out roadsters well i the initial idea right was to drive the road sern have whatever other homestead follow me an autopilot i'll be tuning bright have your ex just follow you and then when you get to the super charger you're gonna be like i need to spaces no because the rose gonna go a lot farther than my car that's true i guess you could then you could tether them and transfer charge all right now we're talking kamani lawn where are you well that was what the latest with the pickup truck is having to forty charging an order run power tools but could i then plug my aren't in charge forty amps right as hard as i'm telling it yes absolutely or your jet ski or your electric motorcycle i've been on this kick today and yesterday.

"Hey ladies and gentlemen boys girls mel hubbard here for the talking tesla pud cast we are going to do a new little thing here on token tester and that is every month we're gonna get the three guys together the three and it's we're gonna talk about tests i'm gonna make fun of each other it's gonna be good tops but also between episodes every now and then we're gonna check in twitter episode something a little bit different maybe interview with an expert or something like that and this month in july robot has two friends and they wanna talk about how you road trip in a tesla and not just road trip we talking stream road tripping so enjoy this episode that we are calling a token tesla tween a t t i robert rosenbloom and i'm joined by two guys who know bid or two about tesla i'm rob jones and i'm nico novello and these guys are kind of special special because they've probably spent more time in a tesla collectively than mel and i and tom and our families and probably most all of the listeners on the show since all twenty five of you tune in every week so let me start off by just giving a little introduction prob was one of the first people maybe the first person that i know of who drove a model sixty before there were superchargers to the four corners of the continental united states i mean like really four corners and he did it using like rv parks and wall plugs and i don't know it's just crazy to think about and that was long ago that was before even bought my model s in july or june it was june of twenty thirteen and have a little story on that one too and nico was a guy who was living the dream for tesla he's got stories that he can't tell me or somebody's gonna come cut his head off and then he quit and he's living in a model x and he's living in the model x and due to being about it and i watched some of these youtube some of them are painful to consider but you know it's kind of romantic and it's got me thinking wow do i want to give up my house and do i wanna quit my job and do i wanna go on a walkabout or i guess technically we'd have to call it a drive about and so i thought this is summertime what summertime good for road trips road trips and vacations and adventures and you could get on an airplane and you could fly i dunno hawaii the caribbean wherever and burn a ton of carbon and then you get there and you live in a resort with a lot of air conditioning and all kinds of carbon being burnt on your behalf and then you could rent a car and burn a ton more carbon or you could just getting your tesla and plug it in and go around the country and have an adventure and if you're in europe it seems like it would be even easier because the superchargers seem to be really high concentrated and i don't know about you guys but for me i'd love to see europe when my not yeah except that i don't think we can plug our cars in there now no no so tell me co where did you sleep last night as a good question i was on my way here and i slept in the tusk darrow sue parking lot nice yeah i'm trying to remember there's like a starbucks says danny's their denny carl's junior i've frequented that one that one's like home number three okay they know you and you go in for your grand slam breakfast exactly yeah for nice at four am we'll the are open twenty four hours aren't they i think so yeah tuscan arizona cool place i know you probably slept in a structure rob i had about two and a half months of sleeping in the car cational hotel but i was on a extended road trip and there wasn't supercharging so it was reduced jess car camping and i brought a tent along with the idea of glam camping and you know making it big nice experience in my wife and i are actually fiance at the time and then just became ways to sleep in the car actually i was going to introduce this as this you know i think you've written it was a fifteen thousand mile road trip and he did it with two girls which i thought wow isn't that something i should like dream about your setups on tirlian well it.

"It's like this is like i'll tell you the most excruciating hellish several months i've ever had a lot of other people at tesla but but i think we're gonna so i part of it is production is ramping but i didn't capture that next pace where he says it's been held thank you for everybody and he was in tears he's basically starting to cry and i've been really concerned frankly about ilan and his mental state and i think he is burning the candle at old four ends and when you see somebody get up the saying we've been working really hard and thanks to somebody and be very tearful a ceo of a giant company you really start to worry like this guy's right on the edge and could potentially full off and stuff that we see every now and then where he's acting a little rationally i get worried about and i'm sure that i'm not the only one but it's kind of in some ways a little tiny bit self inflicted right because he's still going full bore in the boring company and still going full on into outer space x yeah definitely so floated he has a disorder and he's pushing trying to do this thing and i was just like ill umbro take a week off goes he because of all of these sharks shortsellers and everybody else who just wants it to fail there are massive conglomerates auto companies everybody everybody everybody working either to beat him at his own game or to make his game stop like that's what's happening in the world right there's a bunch of car companies that could actually give crap whether or not ev's are successful or not they just want to sell units right they don't care what's in them and then there's the the electric the the the fossil fuel people who are clearly are not on on the teen ilan as pertains of that so that's a lot of pressure and then you've got the shortsellers and you've got the fact that it's very expensive to start a gar company it's he was noting during this that it's only ford and tesla the only two american companies that haven't gone broke yeah the devon gum into bank himse very interesting and so i look i look at some numbers for this and back on the fifth that's june fifth of this year the day before the earnings call tesla had gone up in value and then after the earnings call it continued to go up in value in fact it rose nine point seven percent which equated to the shortsellers losing just in that twenty four hour period one point one billion dollars billion with a billion that's like more zeros than i can fit in my mouth and then from the sixth right the day of the earnings call till today six twenty the stock has gone up more to have cool here oh sorry google's in the other room where beck into just see cubal what's tesla's stock price tesla stock price closed up nine.

"Like this when those new features come out i am pretty i think i'll be pretty excited again i i think i think we're on something with this a the tuzla show official car you can get the like the ambiance though wrap around the whole thing in in a hurry i am liking this as i'm thinking about it yeah doubt that would be ah that'd be pretty funny we should then train investigate that in 2018 role hurled silicon valley in a the tesla show car yes i'll man that'd be funny um in the in the dose commerce club helmet while low who knows coma scrubbed yeah the point club i got some sense all right so beyond model threes what's what's what's coming up after that well we actually the question is um what's going to happen with the mal essen acts because because they look kind of old and data another kind of the old and busted when they're not the new hot this there's a few pieces to it yeah there's a few pieces that don't make sense um so the one piece is that the model 3s using brand new 21 seventy cells that um you know have more of the jelly role inside of them compared to their outer candy hardshell and and so they are more energydense and so those pacts are better than the ones that are in the snx and yet uh yuan has always said that the snx will lead in technology and so you have to s super square that that the twenty one seventy cells are now in the model 3's and they're starting the sort out that production and very soon they'll be producing more of those paks per day than they are model snx and so you've got think at some point they're gonna switch over and use the exact same cells and get even more efficiencies for all the cars so that's one area the second area is that the touchscreen and the hardware running inside the model three is an intel experience versus in nvidia tigra which is from 2012 and these intel one is much faster having personally use the maalla three for quite a while now and you experience it as well it is noticeably faster touched responsiveness refresh rate uh the the.
