"Their hour long lifestyle show. It's a segment and interview based show highlighting events and unique storytelling in central Indiana. That sounds like fun. Some are saying, you know, like Wish TV has their show. And and I was Amber Amber Hankins, I think is the host of the show. They're hoping to get your name wrong. Amber apologized. And so so now, fox 59, I guess is looking to do one. Maybe they already doing they're looking for a host. I don't know. I've got some time between nine and noon. So maybe I just need one more gig. You're gonna take a nap ever or, I don't know. Just not sleep or no, No, I I sleep. I gotta sleep number bed. I sleep like a baby. Okay? That's right. I sleep like a baby. Usually with a diaper, okay? Mhm. So I'm just thinking, maybe maybe one more gig does this sounds like a good gig? It sounds like a lot of fun Lifestyle show host Right, because because the to try, I mean, they're actually, uh, two choices from from WNBC myself or Terry Stacy Terry stay basically a lifestyle show host right very much, so she could handle that. That that that that that's her to be nothing but a smile. Nothing but happy. A couple of well placed double entendres. She's good to go. Which is, by the way, Terry Stacy's whole thing. Oh, don't buy into this arm. Just this sweet little girl from nights down. Nonsense. Terry Stacy. She's a killer. Your false map there. That's true, I think. Yeah. Did you did you did a whole video series with her before? Covid? Yeah, It was fun. She's She's a real deal and that she's the best person in the world so so she can do this, So it's either me or her. Maybe it's me and Terry State. That's what I was doing here. Why don't you both doing right? I think I could be done with that. So I don't know what one more gig One more thing. I'm not actually applying, but I could Could But, you know, I think I don't even have to apply after at this stage. Why didn't they just come to me? Why did they just come to me? I don't know. Maybe they will after since you talked about it. Maybe they'll say Hey, Donna, you're the guy. You're the one And maybe you're You're right. I should focus on doing a nighttime lifestyle. Yeah, well, what's your price? I want to know what you're what? What? What's my I'd like to be paid in kilograms. And actually, I just want to be paid in love. Yeah, Okay. There you go. That's that's that's it, But it turns out if you work that deal, you go to jail. Okay. La La la Look at you with your laws, et cetera. Come on. It's ridiculous. I don't. I don't know. Maybe maybe it's not the right job for me. Maybe maybe be a cool time. Maybe the cool thing to add to the to the resume. Maybe I just have to make my own. And and then what? It'll be like like a late night show. And and maybe that will be the lifestyle So we'll just do you know, instead of a lifestyle be a night style show. Cool places to eat and drink, smoke, Cigar and and and and the events going on. Maybe maybe that's it. There's plenty of places to do that. I mean, lots of things going on in Indianapolis now that things have returned to normal, right? So maybe that's the show. We have to create. Mhm. Maybe after house that show all right. I'll go out for this one. And then we'll do the other one Because I've.

"That from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Meanwhile, the Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, he was joined by Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, speaking to reporters mid afternoon. You were telling your members that they are not negotiate for that. You are the leader associations responses. You first have to have an overall agreement. McConnell's not even there. You can't tell the Appropriations Committee to negotiate if they don't know what the number is. You can't tell Amy to negotiate on elections. If you don't know what the numbers as soon as we come to the overall agreement in the room where I know McConnell is not present. We can then have people negotiate, but it's not just going to be. McConnell has always wanted it to be just the Senate. It's going to be the House and Senate together. Yes, originated parking word one right because we're both on the rules Committee, and so we have talked about. We talked three times in the last 24 hours because there's things besides money. There's things about provisions that would be in a package so we're discussing that as well as some preliminary discussions on money. But we've got to have an overall package. You know, big numbers, That's all and McConnell always looks for an excuse. Come to an agreement with us and people four corners. Five corners on each area will negotiate how Senate Dem Republican White House. And again the headline from the hill dot com negotiations at the moment at a stalemate that from the Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and in Minnesota Senator any club Bashar also today an announcement that six governors have formed a first of its kind purchasing agreement that they hope will pressure companies to make rapid detection testing for Corona virus as they quickly ramp up production. The governors from three Republicans and three Democrats say other states and cities conjoined them in the talks have already Begun with a number of companies approved by the FDA to sell what is called point of care testing that potentially Khun detected the virus in less than 30 minutes, But by Maryland governor Larry Hogan. He negotiated the deal during the final days of his tenure as the chair of the National Governors Association, the Maryland governor, also announcing that the Rockefeller Foundation is willing to act as thie financing entity, if necessary. Each state, Virginia, Louisiana, Massachusetts in Michigan, Ohio and Maryland would request up to 500,000 rapid test. For a total of three million that could be deployed to address the outbreaks at the Aspen Security form. Today remarks by former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice in a conversation with New York Times, White House correspondent Peter Baker, discussing Confederate monuments, National security and the global pandemic, at one point, her assessment of the president and his leadership of Corona virus. Yes, This is really a challenging time Now. Some of us were old enough. I will say that we've been through other challenging times. I was a child in 1968 and 1968. We had two political assassinations. We had riots in Watts. We had the Tet offensive. We had all kinds of Trouble in crisis. And so I think it's important to look back with perspective that we survived other crises before, But why is this one different? It's different because thiss unseen enemy this unseen threat of the virus is so ubiquitous among the population. And it is very difficult for government to get control of the habits of 330 million people mean the fact is that what we're asking here is that because we're very individualistic people because we are a society that is not that easy to govern. We're actually asking individual Americans to make good decisions, and I think we sometimes forget Whatever organization of government we might have. It really does come down to the responsibility of individuals making good decisions, not just on behalf of themselves, but on behalf of others. Think one of the things that has made it perhaps more difficult, and here I do think we could have done better in terms of national leadership. Is that we have had both from the health community and from our leadership, sometimes mixed messages about what that good behavior ought to look like. And at a time like this, you don't want mixed messages. But I will tell you as somebody who's been in those circumstances under difficult times. I try not to be too hard on those who are trying to manage a circumstance like this, because this has been an unfolding story. We didn't know much about this virus is the start. Many of the questions about how a pandemic would have behaved would've said Children would have been among the most vulnerable. It turns out there among the least vulnerable. And so we've been learning on the job. So if you put those together the fact that we're still learning about the bars the fact that we're very decentralized governing structure. Governors have been infect more important to this story than the federal government. If you look at the mixed messages, and you look at the fact that all Americans have to make the decisions, this's really much tougher, I think than anything we've ever had to manage from today's Aspen Security Forum and the comments of Condi Rice for me. Terry State, appearing virtually at one point this question from New York Times reporter Peter Baker. You talk about mixed messages. I think back to President Bush, who read were John Barry's great book about the 1918 pandemic, and he ordered the administration to start thinking real seriously repair for a crisis like that, Um, in our current president, though, it has, as you said, mixed messages one way, But, he said, he said that this would disappear on its own. The cases would go down to zero that was just like the regular flu country should reopen. Protestors should fight to liberate States. He wouldn't wear a mask until recently. Even now, Really not. Um, I mean, it doesn't matter. I mean, doesn't it seem to me that presidential leadership matters and I wondered how you assess that? How should we assess his leadership through this? This is very hard as a part of this. I said partner reason. Mixed messages is the story kept changing even from health officials. I do remember when Master weren't supposed to help. So once you tell people mess, actually don't help. Don't do it. I know they were trying to to keep the focus on protective equipment for frontline workers. I fully understand that but all we heard as Americans was mask don't help And then all of a sudden masks everybody has to wear a mask. And so let's not just say that the mixed messages were coming out of 1600 Pennsylvania if they were coming in a lot of ways, I believe personally, that presidents can speak too much, Um, one of the one of the suggestions that I would have made early on in the in this crisis. Was that the president speaks in frequently. He has something important to say when he speaks, and he leaves the daily briefings to Dr Burkes and Dr Fauci and maybe the HHS secretary and so forth. Because we learned the hard way, Peter. You don't want to make the president United States the fact witness. We learned that in Iraq. Frankly, you don't want the president to be the one who's talking about the raw data. It's really not a good role. And so you know, this president is singular. He likes to tweet. He likes to talk every morning. I understand that, but In a crisis like this a message. Discipline is so key and and, frankly presidents when they ask something, I'll answer it, even if they're not quite certain what the answer should be, and that's not just President Trump's That's presidents. So I think one of the problems in the way that this was structure was just too..

A. B. C. jelly Hey good afternoon god love listening to you did you know all right so I think that there's a little bit mountains or more of those being made of mountains and the situation and here's why this president has space of structures and from the beginning I mean even going back to his winning the election Jill Stein and the dams organize recounts and tried to block everything from him getting into the White House and truth be told there are a lot of leakers this is probably the weakest of the White House is in administrations in the history of presidency and ultimately I think that the president just said you know what I trust the military I'm making this call and Julia to your point you appreciate the old ways of the White House the respect the dignity telling the people who are just beneath you that playbook that way of of of presiding over the nation each gun you're so right yeah you're you're absolutely right and I and it and that bothers me because I think it makes our country look petty but it it's not just coming from the right it's coming from the left to and I have to say I got them in a red red area here in the in Monmouth County in Jersey and I have to tell you the people have turned in support of this guy in such a way that they want him to be on a leash now because they all have the mentality is really ahead of you know this is the presidency was respected now with with so much being thrown at the wall so much you know what being drunk the wall I hear people who are are relatively moderate pain trump goal for let me ask you questions remember when trump unveiled to us he's beautiful generals I love my generals well two of them I guess have fallen into disfavor first with Matt is who is disparaged by the president and now it's the former chief of staff general Kelly when you say those who have to stand up guy still of course especially matters matter said big is why is the president disparaging these men of honor a like that that that that's just what he does well that is not acceptable that is not acceptable by anybody I never mind the price now but it is states but it is acceptable to a lot of people we that's what I don't understand I think Democrats agree they considered mad is a good choice and they considered Callie a good trip they were hoping the Kelly could trump but they've considered the men of honor and only to see them turn into speed bumps and disparaged F. to serving our country and serving the president well and they left and although they made some comments nothing that you would consider like Scaramucci right right right right well I mean in a mood she was supportive of the president after he left but I guess the the fact is that there is a dichotomy now here in this country people are okay with leaders acting like schoolyard bullies and being insulting and lowering themselves to the got a role models or not now not you hand thank you hi I'm not by how the the man that the president is described as not being a tough guy John Bolton might end up rocking his world because the impeachment proceedings continue to go on at all different levels yeah John Bolton's right hand guy was basically barred from going by the trump administration but does that apply to John Bolton himself all this so much to discuss because the wheels just keep rolling and rolling and rolling but first on news headlines and updates.

I now. we have to see whether the house Judiciary Committee votes now there was a question about the impeachment inquiry and whether or not the full house votes the open man and the question is the house already indicated there's a an impeachment inquiry but Nancy Pelosi says is not necessary for there to be that it's a question now of a subpoena and the president is responding then you have to impeach me and then all respond. it's fascinating. you understand that the Democrats have had a terrible time until a Kurt Volker the represent the Ukraine provided his text messages. and those text messages show that the president's push for an investigation was linked to Ukraine's effort to obtain face to face meetings between the two presidents and had directly to do with the question of Joe Biden. four one five eight zero eight zero eight ten. now be clear this is a historic night it's historic because the impeachment process has now moved forward by the way the only Republican in the Senate who is really spoken out. is Mitt Romney. no surprise I guess. he sent a tweet today. when the only American citizen president trump singles out for China investigation is his political opponent in the midst of the democratic nomination process it strains credulity to suggest that it's any more anything other than politically motivated member somebody call last night and said but we're not in the middle of an election season. yes we are. at the White House not withstanding. at and so here we are the president set out of trump I have sent out and you tweet today. as president I have an obligation to end corruption even if that means requesting the help of foreign country or countries. it is not all the time this has nothing to do with politics or a political campaign against the bidens this does have to do with their corruption anybody believes that I've got a bridge I want to say. and that's the problem the Republicans have. because the Democrats are gonna make a case and the president will ultimately have to comply with the subpoenas. one way or the other. let's go to Steve calling from. pacifica Steve welcome to KGO. Steve are you there. I'm here John how are you tonight great go for it Steve good good well I've been listening all week and I think I can speak for a lot of us out here and I'm gonna take a line from one of my favorite radio host is kind Sir we simply want the truth. I agree. and I'm wondering if we're ever gonna if anything is going to happen we're ever going to get the truth from anybody what a country has a lot the country has a lot of problems a lot going on and I would like to see that stuff yet the dress what has been the Democrats and the Republicans have both addressed the country's problems the problem is they want to address them in different ways so when the house passes bills the Senate will consider them and when the Senate passes bills the house doesn't want to deal with them either so the only way to deal with the nation's problems as for Democrats and Republicans to sit down and work out their differences but the difference is that were found on abortion on on of global warming on foreign affairs they just can't. UCLA do you feel that if impeachment proceedings we will get a shred of truth yes and I'll tell you why if there is a full house vote. those articles are walked over to the Senate there will then be a trial the Republicans will lead to have as a call earlier pointed out my pointed out in the past full power subpoena. and they will wage their legal fight to preserve the president and the Democrats will have to do the same thing it'll be great drama and will the truth come out you know what I've learned on this program. truth is a relative thing what is clear one group is not. to the other. I told your call screener when I call that I was on the fence but if I can get to the truth that's the direction that I would like to go yeah and I'll tell you more and more people are saying and I think that's what the president says go ahead an impeachment. go ahead right but I don't think the president or his lawyers understand the full impact of a trial and what what that would mean but we'll see I can't wait. I guess the one thing you know the classic impeachment trial was Andrew Johnson a way back in eighteen sixty eight well I was always intrigued by Johnson I'm a full library of Johnson I the whole transcript of those those proceedings in a single volume but I have to tell you something I never imagined in my life that there would be three presidents Nixon Clinton and trump were subjects of an impeachment investigation I never imagined such a thing and that's what's so stunning to me amazing one more yeah just one more question if I may add a little bit off the topic how was quarry low in Taos ski not held in contempt of Congress. well what I would see that it is how to do what he did that was a decision made by the democratic leadership they they did not decide to hold him in contempt I I can't tell if that was a that was a mistake yes I would have held in contempt you turn right or whatever and if the president doesn't comply with the subpoenas I would hold the present or leases lawyers in contempt and the same thing applies resident currency is justice administration and that that's there that's there go to the you know just don't answer questions don't answer subpoenas but it's it's like the old the they're doing they can do that they don't get held accountable for those actions I don't understand it really well we're gonna find out and I appreciate your call our Kathleen asks your John if he's acquitted can he be retried for future crimes why pro or con depends the answer is that if he is impeached and convicted. that's the only punishment would be his removal from office but if you read the constitution it says he can then be held accountable for his crimes. that's it. four one five eight zero eight zero eight ten by the way she adds thanks for your show I couldn't believe the call last night well the nerve to say or hateful these people project like nobody's business all I hear is in well she's very nice and like race and class you're talking about the constitution of the future of the country which is what we should be prioritizing it's not just red versus blue. and I appreciate your kind words four one five eight zero eight zero eight ten a let's go up to a. pro let's go to Ronnie calling from Santa Clara Ronnie thanks for your patience welcome to KGO. thank you thank you for your time but first I want to say I am pro impeachment he broke the law he should be impeached now whether they're not whether or not the Senate removed from that's another matter the other thing I want to comment on a ask you about is I believe that if he doesn't comply with the subpoena they're going to charge him with obstruction of Congress but I believe that mall are already supply lots of their ammunition in his report about obstruction why have you heard anything about the mall of report of stretching and and violations being rolled into the articles of impeachment because Nancy Pelosi in her announcement that impeachment inquiry had been done and I want to emphasize that it has been done which is why it's moving forward all up the answer is that Nancy Pelosi said they are restricting the inquiry. crane situation that is a decision which has been made by the house leadership so as this inquiry has been opened up and as the house Judiciary Committee will be charged coming up with articles I expect. that at least at this point the articles will all deal with Ukraine. all that molar ammunition is just gonna set it sets but the more reporters clearer there were at least ten points in the more report were obstruction of justice was charged and if fact they do a full inquiry. then there will be. a real investigation but right now the house democratic leadership. has the limited what they're doing only to the Ukraine investigation. okay all right I appreciate your call rob emails me John you're almost there until a full house votes on what. and the answer is that it has to be articles of impeachment by the way points out for Nixon and Clinton the full house held an initial vote to authorize a preliminary inquiry actually you the full house voted it was a divided house but the decision was made by the leadership. and you point out correctly there was no initial full house vote for on Andrew Johnson but there were articles of impeachment just look come up. and the full Senate met. and as you know Andrew Johnson was acquitted. he was acquitted. by the way it's point out to me senator Ron Johnson a spoke out a conservative Republican they just made a new claim I'm told by a listener David just sent me an email whether trump link Ukraine Miller military aid to the investigation and are of course senator Johnson who is a Republican and a trump supporter is indicating that in fact that is what happened. okay let's go to let's go on we didn't terms are Dan calling from Santa Clara thirty thirty six minutes then you're on. yes thank you first I do want to thank you John a lot for being very careful to explain to everyone. the laws are and what the facts are. as we've all heard this week many of my fellow conservatives are not quite ready to accept eyes roots of those two things get a lot of anger a lot of resistance a lot of what about that. I voted for trump I'm a Republican concurred service it was not an enthusiastic vote. and it's gotten to the point now with this not only in our election where enough is enough now maybe I'd like to pride myself on being a little bit more reasonable than some of my fellow compatriots like to communicate to. the more liberal leaning readership hard listeners out there a lot of people just aren't very at it takes time for that to soak in the facts and the law of the facts and the law. can I just interrupt with a news bulletin yeah Mike Pompeii has failed to meet the house subpoena deadline to produce Ukrainian documents and if this proceeds they will then find Mike Pompeii ale in contempt of Congress just want to let you know that it demands a scumbag the guys complete some back. so what I'm trying to say it yes I am of course for the inquiry going forward. hold off on impeachment kill enough people in this country. are able to grasp what you and many other people are trying to tell them. well we'll see look I have to tell you I am I'm I I'm mixed in terms of my feeling I believe the house should prepare the articles of impeachment I think they should be prepared carefully by the way if they do and that's the reason why there is now this rush if you will they want to have it all done before the Christmas holiday they want to have you know a full trial this year so that's the reason why they're rushing and actually so everyone understands us the president wants that to happen because the president believes that the Republicans in the Senate will support him and there can be no removal let me remind everybody unless you have sixty seven votes and that never happened in the history of the country. so it would.

What if he if he can't handle the hotline? Thank you, Mike, Jerry, Joey that will take you home like Sam Donaldson. Yeah. But but I love this for all right? We'll Trump this. Great and tracking will Trump have a contender against them. I don't think anybody's primarily Republicans unless Mitt Romney decides to run and because by the way, what do you think about why is he doing that? Now seats ridiculous. He the guy take Zego creepy. He's got great hair. You let me go to Romney. I don't think he really cares about much waiting. But now he can do what he wants the people of Utah. Don't listen to anybody. Tim, no. Platform, but I will say this. I think one hundred ten percent somebody will challenge Trump. I don't think they're going to win. But I think John cases. I have I have met Mitt Romney number times. I did things for him. Great guy. But. The politics across his would know in front of the cameras when you meet him the first five minutes, he knocks you out CEO tight. But this flip flopping is just incredible flip-flopping with Trump. I thought Trump had a good line today. He said he says something like I hope Romney doesn't turn out to be a flake refer, obviously. Yeah. He he he turned it there, Janet. Thank you so much. Okay. Appreciate your call. Only Mitt Romney could could make Donald Trump more likable. I mean, come on. Let's go to Bill at Quincy. Hey, bill. How are you tonight? Doing. Okay, you're doing Dan good. Who's a bigger phony Donald Trump or Mitt Romney both. Yeah. What I call about is that. Yeah. Does Mitt Romney does he know the, word empathy? In other words, if he's calling someone a favor phony that means that he would like to be called himself. Should think about that? When I think, of empathy. I think about someone actually, you know, having some humanity, and and some feelings towards someone, but but this is a different sort of situation. This is the guy this is the guy who. You basically in during the campaign was was a quintessential anti Trump, which is fine. There's a lot of Republicans are anti Trumpers. But then he when he wins. When Trump is president elect Donald Trump is the president elect Mitt Romney shows up and interviews for the job of secretary of state is is that the price. Romney was willing to give his integrity for. Also is he acting his religion being a moment? How how active is is? He is he a Christian. Well, I don't know what to do with religion. The only the only question is. Maybe I don't wanna make a joke about anyone's religion. Christian million not gonna be? Does the way I believe. Kidding? Do with religion Bill in all honesty. But it's also, I don't know. Is mid so jealous that that? In utah. Last the primary was last June a guy who's a doctor a medical doctor out their name was Kennedy, by the way, and he did pretty well, obviously Mitt Romney had a base in in Utah that the guy couldn't overcome adults don't act this way as my beliefs. And and yeah. No, I'm sure I believe you Frank face seventeen nine hundred seventy four. I'll never forget your date. Yeah. Eight months later two years overseas cash, I come home. I got killed. Amazing. That's an amazing story Frank. Well, look, thank you for for what you did in service in the military. You go to the house. Do you go to the Jay? Gave the both of them. Okay. That's great. Well, again, look, we can criticize Donald Trump for a lot of things. But if if he is turning the VA around and making it better, there are a lot of problems with the VA, you know. I mean that absolutely Frank thanks so much for your service to the country and thanks for taking the time to call in tonight. We'll talk soon, okay? No. You have to know about. Well, first hand experience speaks to a prank call so much happy new year, my friend, and I hope. Our giant. Thanks, frank. You call the show whenever you want. Okay. Again. Thank you for your service. Bless you. A lot of people dealing with a lot of situations. And it's if it's the VA hospital every veteran if they can't get treated at the VA hospital should be able to get a carte blanche at whatever hospital in the country. They choose simple as that. We're going to continue on here. We played the the the Romney comment. His editorial has op Ed today in the Washington Post going after he's every right to do that. I mean, that's fine. There are other Republicans. We've done it Senator Crocker from Tennessee, Senator former Senator Crocker former Senator flake, former Senator Clinton McCain, no doubt. And I think Donald Trump took a cheap shot at John McCain. So this this plenty of reasons to criticize Donald Trump. But when you go full bore as Mitt Romney did calling Trump a phony and a con man, and then show up to interview for the secretary of state's position after he's a he's elected president. In now, turn around and go the other way it does. It makes Romney in my opinion, look bad. If someone wants to defend Mitt Romney feel free you want to. You you have.
