"To apps that we're really sparking kids interest in resign. Yes there's all saying. I used to work with a group of people and one of our marchers were work through this curriculum department. That if our lessons made it to the dinner table we actually created a really good lesson. So i need lending for the whole family where the younger siblings they get to learn along to and there's nothing more of i think than when a parent is also really interested in what the kid is learning. And i think that's excellent. Are you educator or your husband educator by trade no i. We're not which i think is a strength and a weakness i think clearly it's a weakness because we know and that's why we've had to surround out sows with really experience qualified educators. And we've done that. I have my ideas about curriculum. I'm not developing curriculum. I love to see. I'll coaches an action on not a coach. The benefit event is that. I think we come in it from a different perspective. We sometimes don't know not possible. And so we we really believing that part of the strength of prisma is that it has a real diversity of perspectives or backgrounds in terms of. We've got some really experienced. Educators relates buried teachers. That have been created our chatter schools as it worked in very alternative educational environments. But we also have suffering engineers and we have products manages and we have designers and a lot of backgrounds that i think really creates sort of our richness of staked is excellent so there are a lot of parents who can't really educate their children to the level that a traditional teacher would be able to hawk could support those parents and their endeavors to just get their kids the the right education that they may not be able to receive in k twelve public school for eight. I should say yeah you mean intend to. They may not have a really high quality school. You really yeah. And that is slowly started prisoner. We'd very much head and line that part of what a virtual school can do. Is it means you're no longer limited to the schools that are just in your zipcar. In sometimes it is such a strong timonen of whether you get access to good school or an off in any kid anywhere really anywhere in the wild but right now we're optimized for north american time zones but any hit anywhere join prisma juan constraints. There is a cost and balls and sorry for some families. There is a is a financial prisma having said that we have been very focused and focused on financial aids. We've forty percent of prisoners. Families are receiving financial aids varying from basically fully subsidized to maybe partially subsidized. So we try really had to support all families that come to ass invests all we've been to split the vast majority so for now we're trying to add a meats or compensate for the fact that this is a private motto by providing as much light as possible king. That's amazing. i would love to see that in the hood and was going to be honest with you. There's some places that were really need Prisoner went on your website now lit through it and i was very impressed and i couldn't wait to get you on. The show saw his wanted. Thank you for coming on. Thanks for having me. I really appreciate it. And it's a nice conversation. Yes so working our listeners. Fine prisoner yeah. So our website is join prisma dot com to imprison dot com. And there's a ton of information on there a lot of reading so you can get a lot of information you can also sign up for a live in position. It's just small groups where we'll tell you more about prisma in on xs l. Social channels if you want to join any vast social media channels suggest. The website is a great place to stop in. Eggs leagues Kids that have an interest in can come and experience a prisoner workshops. Oh after you've done. An inflation always invite families. Their kids to come enjoins been today at christmas. That's always not chin. Came before. I let you go die of any plans for your coaches to do any professional development for k twelve teachers to give them some ideas on how to connect with children. That's a great question. Not right now because i feel like we are still refining our model and making sure that we've earned out all the kings and intended happiness families and actually academic grace. We didn't talk about that. But with the tasting that we or the assessment that we do too. We've seen kids at growing much faster in math and reading than the national average was an hundred and fifty percent. Do we believe there's a lot to keep refining where we've got there. I think that will be really amazing that we can do to just share more about what we let and yeah. That's amazing. yeah it's interesting when you make learning really fun and exciting which is really what we've prioritize. Tend that kids really lennon aloft. Really learning yeah. They really respond. Yeah that's great so yeah. Yeah thank you victoria for coming on. It was great. I i think having played college The game fortunately played some professionally. I think he sees some things. I think I worry my biggest concern. Is that the college game has always been more not perfect but about the game about comradery about the unique experience that young men get. That can't be touched. No matter what they can go and make millions of dollars. They can go and they can win an nba championship. They can go klay and reach their individual dreams which is amazing and rights to go after but to a person i experienced myself in many met a lot more success in the nba. The time i spent in college whether it was low major. Not even i go back terry porter. Who played for. My dad played seventy years when being finals in on non say you can't touch that the crowds the camaraderie. The the ups announced the stories. It just becomes business so my hope is that. that's greatest. Fear is a long answer. But i think it's the right answer leaser. Mind mind that this doesn't become too much where you.

Then they're not firing at these agencies right now so you look at it. If i'm a film major implying you see. I'm not gonna take a test what i need to show confidence. Depth and knowledge. Not just showing me. Hey you put together this great film on social justice and civil rights but show me where throughout your career that you learn how to tell stories and where you learn how to edit and why are you passionate about equality and they were able to get to that point and everything. Shift the element to just being surrounded by such confidence. Why it's so excited. Every day about education worn a moment. It is not going to change now personally and i am the most positive guy like half both like pouring over the side of the even if it passed. But it's not gonna to change. Now we're not gonna to attack so relying on the whole thing is people are cited change and they're doing it in the trenches every day so may a student say about using a platform for student you can imagine the content is king right there so coming invert and seeing. Wow there's not a pass in front of us fighting. I think students the ability to really have best again buzzwords and their learning in a way that grabbing them by the collar. It's getting them excited about earning that moore goal is nothing more than where he will open. The eyes of the child is something completely different and spark something in them that they never knew that. Would there be before and set them on that play contract. Experience within beluga has definitely been able to elevate the traditional student learning experience about what we really been super duty to what happened on the social side of it is so generally. They're digital native and social media native. I remember the days of no cellphone. Simple and dial up internet like day to be honest to the looking at his now so much simpler electing looking at it now blockbuster the other day i was just looking at it right. Metrics active. You didn't know acknowledgee. Social media like facebook and all. They know they don't know growth prior to facebook so you're talking not learning the traditional experiences. Why are we not collaborating. Why are we not connected by just connected with someone night. And there's something to it like playing video games communicating with coming around. The world been doing for decades already like us as adults need to catch up their social experience. Really bring your quite and it goes open. Their eyes up not only their culture religion race ideology auditors that are simply connecting zapping scope at what we're doing our job and i've always been super clear that when do people lose that spark where the world is your brain mood than unicorn and everyone looks the same and feels the same and they're just turn point. I don't know what it is yet. Maybe about the of my neck venture and we around their help with scientists by colleagues at all of us gulf jaded. It's one way or the other whether we wanted minute or not. So how do we start surrounding ins and early have not living with any bubbles but realizing hey my friend. John overseas also like the in bulk connections. But it's opened the world completely different student out inside of it. We really try to acquire dot com and make it as rich and engaging awful but then also integrates net social elements were actually able to learn with others and the social side of every. I always found this funny that education the only industry from a traditional perspective. That does not encourage collaboration. "His out there trying to pluck kids from college? His son is going to Virginia next year as a freshman and really good player. But but why are you not bringing your son to this program? It's better than college. Well I. Don't think he thinks it's better I. Don't think he thinks it's better than college and Shreeves interesting one right? He was a one and done, but he went back. His degree got his master's degree like he benefited greatly from it. I don't think he obviously loves to college there. There's a ton of hypocrisy to it. They're just is. what do you do you think that the new name and likeness rule change changes the does it. How does it? It's GonNa Change. Something wants to change. What we, we don't know all they've done right now. It said I you know they can. They can get endorsements third party endorsements. They can set up their own businesses They can do things of that nature, but they haven't put any details and anything to it yet. I think that's GonNa be the kid. You know my thought Going forward was like okay. What happens your head coach? Doug and your head coach at you know down the road there, Lmu, or something like that and I run an auto dealership, and and I, got a ton of money, and I'm a boost army. Boy, right? Why can't you just tell me? Can you do me a favor? The number one part of the country can can we offer a million dollars and we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA run this. We're GONNA WE'RE GONNA DOMINATE LMU again we'll be back like the old days and we're gonNA pay per kids. Well. How how is he? GonNa stop that there would. Where are they going to decide is too much. Are they going to cap? It is data loud. If you're a coach, can you I mean I just and for people who are people who say people who say like well, you can cap it and one of the statements. was you know like it's got to be a reasonable amount? Remember the last time they tried to cap something in say was when they had the restricted earnings coach, and of course all those guys at a class action lawsuit was disaster lost a bunch of money. Yeah I don't know what you do I do. Know that then you know you can't have conflicting brands, so does that mean if if a car dealership is the official car dealership of the program? Well, then you can't do a car dealership ad with any other car dealership, right? You can only do with that. That's what I mean so. Be Certain stipulations and a lot of them, and the Internet could not answer any of that. This morning are tall because they haven't figured that out I think what they were trying to do. Today was hey, listen everybody. We're moving for with US World King, some level of getting paid up your name image likeness. We're not sure the details. We still gotta figure that out well. That's the hard part to be honest. does it. Does it decrease cheating in college basketball? I don't think so I mean again I I. Don't think it changes at all I think you know you're going to have again. Coaches trying to circumvent the rules aren't giving good example if I'm a a head coach in in college, who may be played in the NBA and I'm GonNa mid major level I'm not going to say the name. There was a few of them out there while we continue Terry Porter, Damon Star Donyell Marshall Their Portland third is fighting for his job right now Portland. He's got I. Don't know how many million dollars in the bank. Why can't he decided? Hey, you know I. Want To keep coaching. I'M GONNA slip a half a million. To my buddy, who's running that car dealership and he in turn is going to basically. It and I'm going to say to this recruit. Hey, once you get our campus. You got a half a million dollar deal waiting for you. What does he have to SA- understand why his main Dar's. But you can't all I'm saying is he? Can if he's the coach and he wants to get this thing done, and he's got a bank account of fifty, million or a hundred million. Why can't he just take some of his own money? Which is illegal? The schools can't pay the kids directly. He's giving it to somebody that that runs our company and basically telling them to legally be able to induce it to the kid. Yes, coaches have never been guys that come out of their own pockets. That's one thing so. But if you're looking at the end game and the end game is nine only my job, but I might be able to get. A bigger job might be able to get a job for two or three million a year. You're just betting on yourself at that point and saying I'm GONNA. Make my program relevant. I'M GONNA fight I'm at least going to beat all the other schools in my league. I may be Kentucky Duke or the Big Boys, but if I'M GONNA MID Major League. Outbid everybody else. So why would you would be if they're GONNA? Make you know a couple hundred thousand dollars as opposed to ten thousand. I think this can really help. The mid majors who are the elite mid majors and like I don't know if you WANNA. Call Creighton a high major fine like I, if I'm a crate venue it all union panties, and why don't give shit, but the fact is a Creighton has an unbelievable fan base right there, the Lakers of Omaha. You're much more likely to benefit name, image and likeness. Wichita State. Xavier data compared to Bob College or my. Yes, you see like Boston, College. Nobody gives us now now there are there. Are there alums that could figure something out? Yeah, yeah, alums! Pig yourself not even a long scare about BBC bicycle. No, there's there's some alums. Kabul! I mean dude mean if Harvard wants to kill it, Harvard can kill it now. Right all news like Hey Microsoft is my one guy is Microsoft one is facebook, or whatever and they they can literally pay whatever you want. Whatever you want, other percent hundred percent I think you just got the that healthy. The healthy schools with kind of endowment a ton of people that boosters.

Pig yourself.

"God to much relationships with guys. I mean, that's that's so critical in today's game. These kids are younger come from another generation. And it's about you being able to connect with them you've been out of push the right buttons and helping them get better at making them feel that. That you you all about enhancing their skill set and making them better. That's what it's all about. And so from that stand point that's what one of the key things. We talk about today's we talk about today's players at the NBA level. And how you try to get the most out of those place those players. Yeah. I love talking to coach Terry porter here on the show coach before we let you go. You're the the men's basketball coach at the university of Portland your obviously important. What is the what is the vibe? Like, what is the energy been like this team has you said has made a run that very very few people gave him credit for being able to make. Reminds me kind of the runs that we made early on. When no one expected us to make the type of we wasn't a team that was on a lot of people radar, and we're just kind of, you know, maintain our style maintain the trust played kept planning my way and kept winning. And then eventually, you know, we were came team. Everybody looked upon. I think they're threat that states. These guys are just kind of reaching kinda prime talk about Damien talk about CJ, and they're starting to get other pieces, so important in Gaza trying to you know, Bill that team, and that has, you know, a, great culture, great identity and style that's gonna you know, have some consistent among Jebby to it. Whether it can become one of the better teams in the west and every year, they become someone as mentioned mcgarth to where they can go out far they can push it into the playoffs. Who knows everything into shock the world that we find ourselves. They trailblazers books finals that would be Terry porter dream, but you have to figure out who you're rooting for. That'd be a that'd be submits little goat. Yeah. Have have have bucks jersey have traveling bird? The curry parents. Back. That'd be a tough tough. I know one thing I've a lot of friends and family Milwaukee. That'd be that'd be definite calling me calling me one to make a waitress. I'm like, no, I can't bite you're on that game. Okay. So I'm looking forward to both of these series are just an issue. I think are gonna be great series. And I hope they go deep 'cause I love watching NBA playoffs in hope. You know, it continues to be very entertaining. And it's must see TV in my eyes. I'm with you. And I appreciate the time continued success at the university of Portland, go Portland. Go bucks. Thanks for thanks for being on the show. Thank you. Sorry about not getting pick on New York. You guys miss that? Okay. Pass the Knicks fan. That's cool. It's all good. Thanks coach Terry border on the show. Tom's Knicks handle he didn't he didn't like the how you doing buddy. Where were you one of the people like cheering and falling down yesterday? Man. That was brutal. He just Merck me on his way out. Really didn't. He liked it here smiling. I never thought they were gonna pick sixteen percent. I actually did a draft lottery simulator like one hundred times in the next never got better than the fourth pick and any of them. So this actually better than I ever was able to simulate we did how many seven Stu. Yeah. Five to seven and it was five every time in four one time. Yeah. It was never happening. That doesn't mean that a part of me still didn't die inside. The real thing is your hope gets up. And then you I mean, at least you're in the top three at least you're in the maybe they'll fix it for us. Maybe they want sign in New York and those thoughts start creeping in your head. You're like, I'm okay with that. Oh, I think they do fix things. I absolutely do not fixing it for James Dolan. You know smart. It's like giving poor to eleven year old like, you know, not you don't know.

Three K words bringing it into the front court for Santa Clara, and he'll be able to dribble. This thing out fun one here from child center tonight, but the Broncos will cap the regular season with a seventy eight sixty two victory over the Portland pilots say really back and forth. But to sitting here courtside taking the name, John stake, your gut reaction on this ball game here. Well, I'll tell you what I'm going to Mosul person. I'm so happy for this Bronco basketball team as a former program is self. I knew how much it meant to them. But I also feel a little bit for Terry porter. As pilots it's tough to go for conference. But now that's all said and done the Broncos for look forward to the tournament next week. Get the buy and it's all good other Michigan campus porter the pilot head coach in his third season. They'll get at least one more crack at it down in Vegas, Portland will be taking on the number seven seed in the first round at the WCC tournament which starts next Thursday and John stegower Bob Medina, Henry Caruso, some of the Broncos staffers having a a good fist-bump. After a really good thing to see John. We talked about it earlier in the broadcast. We talked about it down the stretch. But the Broncos to close it out. No nervous down the stretch and to win going away. And I call her prematurely. David. You're absolutely correct. They did a good job of closing finishing when they had to. And again, a very character building with its young Bronco team. Tacos, captain regular season sixteen point win here at Portland, we will come back with the post game show. Get it all wrapped up for you. And we'll grab Rocco head coach heard sendak post game shows starts after this after a Bronco victory. This is Santa Clara basketball Cup. "And really you be so surprised at what your body can do after it takes fifteen to twenty minute nap. Nothing more. You can't go put your pajamas on and go in there and tuck in for three hours, you know, like you can't do that. But like a quick ten fifteen minute, nap, it revitalizes you and that room was being used coaches. You know, you kind of had your own little section back there where you could go in take a nap. It's it's it's just classic Bella check. I mean at smart smart. It's it's like you get tired. There's no sense of going home. You want to be able to do it. And that's what you do. And and I think they've been successful at it. Yeah. There's no days off that is that is quite the days off. I mean. Yeah. And the worst thing you can do is like you're tired you come back from one of those long trips. You know, they play so many night games. Right. So you know, you play a Monday night game. You get back into the office. It's Tuesday morning. Not o'clock. You gotta get ready for the next game. You got no time to really go, home and have coffee. With Millie, and you know, talk about the day. And all that you gotta you gotta get your shit going. You can't go home and play with Dominic and Leo the grandkids. Oh, how you doing today? You don't know. It's like the next game. Yeah. And it it keeps pushing in a guy that keeps keeps going wait Phillips. I want to talk about this Rams defense a little bit it just far as some of those matchups and some of the chances that they will take you talked about, you know, how he sets things up a little bit. But one of the relationships it's been discussed this week of you know, there was a picture of weight Phillips. I don't know if you saw us he's in a full cowboy outfit as as they were getting on the plane to head to Atlanta. I don't know if that was ingest or what it was. But I mean, it was a nice nice nice get up in a keep delete. So that they were dripping together and they were driven back in Denver together. And that they have a great relationship with each other. But it keeps leave is a guy that will take chances. Maybe jumper out something like that. If you're Wade Phillips, you go to some of those guys that I mean, I mean, obviously, they made the big trades. They made the big moves the big signings to get to lead. Peter's these guys you bring them in. I is there something is there something you're trying to draw up maybe bait, you know, Brady into a throne. One of those deacon dunk plays. And and try to get you know, one of those Terry porter pick sixes that we see before this report one of those big game changing places they like to call it. Do you do that? But one of those star players if you're a Wade Phillips in the same way that Bill Belichick may go to Julian Edelman and said the same thing on offense, you know, or go to Cordell Patterson and say we need something on special teams this week. I think wait oh pack the middle of the field tape Frazier. I think he's play Brady enough to know. I got a pack the middle of field. Just like with SU said about getting in the Brady and the paint. He's got a pack the middle of field. And if he could pack the middle of the field that you know for spray the throw the ball on the outside quadrant of the field. And let's see what he does from their Brady can do that that I'm sure wait will say, okay, fine. You know, we're we're okay there, if you can do it, you know, it that's going to be okay. But I don't know if I don't know if the if if they can do that as affectively, you know, and you know, because the patriots know going into this game the Rams generate the highest pressure from their interior. They they're like sixteen point six percent. But the patriot allow allow..

"Now, it feels like you had the little dump Dink and dunk, but do you have? The intermediate. How important is that now? Although I was watching and I'm trying to think it might have been the NFL network. They were talking about how drew Brees and Michael Thomas. They have that twenty yard route that they run that. It's almost like shooting mid range jumpers in the NFL that the saints run that route and not a lot of teams run that twenty yard in or curl and the saints do that. If you're the Rams don't you just say, there's no way that Michael Thomas is going to catch any passes. You you have to. I watched the the replay the game last night. The the eagles in the saints. And I'm watching Thomas, that's all I wanna see is Thomas in the number of times where he just finds an open area, and you're going how is somebody not spying on him? He might be the best receiver in football or he's on the shortlist. He certainly the best receiver, you don't know. And it's. It's almost as if the eagles go man that guy over there is pretty good. Like, they didn't know anything about him. He's really good. But it feels like in my one issue with the saints. This year was do they have a legitimate? Second. Target for Jew breeze aside from Kamara. You haven't needed it? But I get the feeling with these DB's with the Rams you're going to need that second option in that second option might be the deciding factor if you go to the Super Bowl or not. But I'm not letting Michael Thomas kill me. I can't. Yes. Mclovin. What about then? You got Kamara sneak it in there. And then you got traded on Smith had two hundred yards against the eagles the first game. They get on their guys. Yeah. If you double come Thomas, but I do I have to do that. Yeah. I can't let your best player. Beat me. That's ballot. Check in. Right. Well, I go back to I watched the highlights of Michael Jordan. This is like last week and the game against the Cavaliers when he sends them to the playoffs. When he hangs hits the shot over alot. I don't even let him have the bowl. Jordan doesn't get the ball. I don't care who gets the ball. If you beat me. Good for you. I I I'm always amazed. When the best player gets the ball or you sort of say all right now, he's got the ball. No. I I don't want him to have the ball in the Cavs were a better team. The Cavs might be one of the best teams to never win an NBA championship. But in when what is Bill Simmons going to do that story or write a book on it? The best teams to have never won an NBA championship. Because there's there's a good list of teams. You know, the Knicks were very good team. They didn't win the Phoenix Suns. Barkley. Didn't didn't win the title. You could do an interesting article column on best teams to never win. Yeah. How about the Portland trailblazers with Terry porter? Clyde, Drexler Kersee. They were great. Absolutely. I want stood up in Sacramento Kings were very good team that didn't win can it by Tim dotting. There you go. The odds are out for which team Cuyler Murray will be playing for week one of the twenty nineteen NFL regular season. I don't want to tell you that I told you. But I told you all run down the list there eighteen this is the odds for which team Cuyler Murray is going to be playing with week one of the twenty nineteen NFL regular season. Ooh. This is good. I'll do that before we get to Jim boeheim. Reggie miller. Will join us coming up. We'll talk about the greatness of James harden. Thirty night. No big deal. Could he average forty points again? Yeah. Probably could. He might. Two hours in the books. One more to go more of your phone calls. Emails.
