"Back with Rafael Barlow. Director of scouting and be a big board. He's got his top ten. Indie draft prospects to watch in both the east region, as well as the Midwest region. You can check those out. I'm also writing about my top ten prospects in the west and the south, and so together that's 40 prospects, deep dive on those guys as well as some others to watch as well. You can find all of that over at NBA big board dot com. Our newsletter that you can subscribe to and of course we'll be back after the first couple of rounds of the tournament, breaking down on NBA big board dot com who helped their stock who hurt their stock. All the latest sort of draft buzz and we'll be doing that all throughout the NCAA tournament so make sure you go give us your email and it'd be a big board dot com and subscribe today. Rafael, I want to talk about we talked about a couple of the big number one guys or whatever. But I know, I don't know about you, but there's always guys that I kind of fall in love with. I'm not saying like, okay, they're going to be the best player in the draft or what have you, but they're just guys that I like to watch and you know that I, you know, have a little draft crush on. Even though I know there might be sort of best prospects out there, who should who should listeners watch in the NCAA tournament that Rafael Barlow has a draft crush on. I'm going to go with tari Eason. From LSU. Okay. He's dead. That was going to be one of mine, so. Lay it out. I think we think alike. When I watch east employment, one, he's come out of nowhere. He definitely wasn't someone that we talked about coming into the season. Transfer it from Cincinnati. He scores, he rebounds, he plays hard, he defends. And I mean, I know there's a lot going on with LSU off the court that could have an impact on how they play in the tournament, but he's the one that I could see just having a breakout tournament just because he's such a unique prospect in a sense because he's a four. Is he a three? Sometimes they play him at the 5. He can score off the dribble. He just such a Swiss Army knife. And then his teammate. Who hasn't played a lot of minutes. I think he's only played like ten minutes in the last three games. But if there's someone that and you mentioned it in a prior article and prior podcast, but if there's someone that if you like watching defense a guy that just gets after it and is a disrupter on a defensive end, Alex fudge is your guy. So those are two guys that I kind of have draft crushes on. One is obviously he's going to play and then the other one you're just kind of wondering like, all right, if they play, I will state, is he going to have to guard, Isaiah brockington, or if they advance, and they faced Wisconsin is Alex fudge, you're going to get the opportunity to be a lockdown defender against Johnny Davis. So those are two of the guys that stand out to me the most. I really like that pick. It was one of the two of both of those guys that I was gravitating towards. And interestingly, both of them come off the bench for LSU. Doesn't make a lot of sense that Terry Easton comes off the bench because he ends up still getting 25, 25 minutes a night. His numbers when you adjust them to per 36 are literally like maybe behind Keegan Murray like some of the best on our draft board and the high steel rate and high block rate is especially something that they analytic folks look at as a strong indicator of athleticism and ability to get things done on the defensive end. At the next level, like you said, he's a really versatile guy and I used to knock him kind of earlier in the season because he didn't give the three point game wasn't his strong suit, but he's actually been shooting the ball a lot better as well. It doesn't take a ton of threes, but he's actually got his three point shooting up to respectable number now and I think that I like that term like Swiss Army knife like so many ways so much versatility. He's not nearly in the same category as Scotty Barnes. Who, you know, it was a better prospect than a guy that we had as a tier two prospect. But some of that same versatility of where you can use Teresa and a number of different ways defending a number of different positions he can do a lot of things offensively as well. I think he's a great pick. And yeah, Alex fudge was for a while putting up historic his block rated steel rate together were historic in NCAA history. His minutes of dwindled and I don't think he's quite there. Anymore, but like you said, Raphael, like if you go to watch a guy defensively, that's awesome. I'm going to take a little known guy too, and look, we may only get one game out of him and I hope we get more because in that second game we'll also get to see him against Gonzaga. But jaylen Durham's teammate Joss minot who also comes off the bench is a guy who is one of the great athletes in the draft really again another guy defensively that really pops doesn't always get the minutes that you would hope that he would get kind of when you look at the analytics splits..

If you want to know, Bear cat stuff, read his stuff. Amen to that two. Subs in for Cincinnati, coming out of the time out Micah Adam's Woods, who has great the other night against Temple and Terry Easton. You see, it's Paul with a one point lead. Here's Isaiah Adam's passing to the left wing and various Perry. Top of the key. Shawn Mobley of VCU Transfer One Hate Right hand drivel gets it. Adam slips falls down, both tied up on the 32nd buzzer sounds as Cincinnati forces a turnover So already in 5.5 minutes to bear cats have had one shot clock violation. Another shot that went in as the shot clock expired. So defensively, they're getting it done. They just have to make sure that they contest wide open shots. It's Saunders out. Julius is the point guard now dribbles. Past center court feeds it right wing for Adam's Woods. Davenport top of the key Left wing Julius, which his shoulders down is he dribbles passes toward the corner, and Adams would back up top for Julius right point. Williams was standing down to 10 left to shoot. Easton sets a pick. Here's the Julius Driving on Adam stops passes to Williams wipes the ball in front of his defender. He's going to shoot a contestant three. It is short, long rebound grab near the top of the key. Darius Peri Peri, guarded by Williams in the front court. Now it's Isaiah Adams to the left point and green outside the arc left. It's May have Mobley giving it back to Mehan. Now, Green spin shoots a three. It's an air ball that sails out of bounds too much standing on the bear cats in when that ball hits, Keith's hand, is taken him too long to read. He's wiping his wiping his triple threat. The ball stops every time he gets a sort of that Carmelo Anthony syndrome. I'd like to see him catch that thing. Go downhill, use the screen or catching be decisive. That air ball by Garin Green comes after he was six for 10 from outside the arc in his last game, but shot that one on the move spending is he shot it a clay Thompson shot but he is not. Clay Thompson 11 10, You see Appears Davenport Open three from the corner. He missed it. Offensive rebound, Terezin. Finger rolls it back up, missed it. But Keith Williams is there for the follow stop. His activity is like doing a three man weave on the glass. He came from one side grabbed it and Duncan on the other. Even though the bear Cats lost the first meeting between these two teams, they dominated the glass by 14 rebounds. They have a one point lead. Mobley Cat has passed. Reflected and stolen by Micah Adams would bear cats have the ball. Julius had three off the rim. No good rebounded. By may hand. He throws it to center court, and Adams Adams, who is Mr Basketball in the state of Florida year ago, first one ever to play for UCF. Now it's Perry outside the art guarded tightly by to Julius Ball is loose. And a foul is going to be called on Cincinnati going after the loose ball. You have keep goals. He's trying to get that breakaway if he goes with his left hand and the boys to contact he's good. He's got his first file. I would take him out. Yes, he's gonna come out now. Good effort for him. A good first step for him to back Harvey in Keith Williams out. Zach had a big game the first time these two teams met. He scored 15 points at the time. That was his career high. Mason Madsen will check in for the first time and David Julius. We'll catch a break with 12 38 left in the half. Hey, Cincinnati leads a 12 to 11 is Adam's inbounds to Perry on the center court strike, Harvey will defend might be a tough quickness matchup. Zack Harvey. Here's green outside the art passing between the circles for Adam's whistle and a foul. It's called Away from the ball on UCF CJ Walker illegal screen down there. Know Cincinnati leads the league and hairdos. But you see, it's got some monaural mentions over there to tell you right now. C. J. Walker with the long dreads going down his shoulders. Actually called the foul on Mehan his first team's third and take Cincinnati's ball with one point lead seeking pardon me, I agree like Adams would straight away from the basket to step outside the arc toward the wing in Matteson, guns up pass under the basket, cut by decent waits for the fly by and lays it in great description. He was very patient in the paint with the balls. It's a three point bear cat lead 14 to 11 Perry dribbling to the free throw line. Shaken, Bake move now puts it up with the right hand. It's no good rebounded on the weak side by Eastern shovels it forward for Adam's Woods. No look feed for a racing Davenport. He draws a two shot foul. I love what I saw. Davenport was on the opposite wing. He doped towards the middle of the Hate with his hands ready to receive caught it got the file. Put it up with the left. Nearly got the end one but he'll go to the line. Prepare Isaiah Adams called for his first foul number four on you See if it takes us to the under 12 minute. Media time out. "46. Mm hmm. 41 38 Cincinnati 13.5 minutes to go Temple throw it in against the full court press will try to throw it in against the full court press they managed to get it into Jape Mormon. Trying to find a guard, and he puts it in the hands of Jeremiah Williams, freshman from Chicago Crosses center court on the dribble, passing for battle outside the arc. Right now it's Mormon with a head of steam, handing it off on the wing for Jeremiah Williams hears battle driving on Harvey, who took the ball away. Great Steal by Zack Harvey. Cincinnati's ball up by 3 41 38 Mike Adams with dribbling right. It's center court, now driving towards the left point feeds it down low Here's Tari East and playing in the second half for the first time. Keith Williams, jab, Steps Jab Step again drives to the right hand gets right to the rim, switched to the left hand and missed the shot. Terry has the rebound. Brendan Barry goes it outside for Mormon Williams feeding it under the basket Tipped out of bounds by Terry Easton Target Great by playing defense across you wanna put that shoulder the arm across the chest of the guy that you're guarding, but you don't want to overplay to the point where if you miss that he catches it for a dunk. Plenty. Adam All quiet checks in Jeremiah Williams exits here's battle with a quick three from the corner. It's no good rebound, kept alive by East and grabbed by Adam's Woods. Fires it ahead for Harvey. No look bounce pass for a reason, and he lays it in cross used the body throw behind themselves, Use the body as a shield and watch easing finger rolling in. 43 38, Cincinnati. Well minutes and 10 seconds to go Temples ball in the front court battle in the right point looks for an open teammate now dribbles against Harvey before handing it off for Mormon Mormon, guarded by Keith Williams hears battle sizing up Harvey passes back to the left point. Mormon hesitation dribble. Now driving into the paint shoves up and down, up and up and under move, they call them through a foul. All they say key through a story. That's his third personal rather than keep picking up his fourth. Tori just checked into the game and every time someone pump fakes since that he's flying in the air. When everybody should expect the ball doesn't leave.

"Vote throws it outside the arc for Julius. Now, in the short corner, it's boat again. Our dribbled toward the rim, and he dribbled out of bounds. He had the right idea, but Course. They're just gonna Rick Mahorn and pull the chair out from underneath him. So Temple will bring up the ball up the floor. They have a freshman point guard named Jeremiah Williams. He crosses the timeline. Saunders picks him up defensively with those line colored shoes. Saunders goes for a steel can't come up with the ball. Foster took Forrester rather to the rim, and he lays it up and and and that's why you don't hear about that great defense. He drops the ball fumbles. It takes two dribbles and still get to lay up to nothing. Temple 40 seconds into the game. Julius driving towards The right corner stops passes outside the arc of the point to Keith Williams. Now it's Saunders accelerating toward the rim bounce pass outside the arc. Ford Julius three point shot off the back iron, No good and the rebound gets kicked out of bounds by temple. That was a great pass by Sanders to get all the under the basket. Have the wherewithal to see Julia spotting up. The right wing. Williams will throw it in from the baseline, lobs it to the right elbow and vote passes to the left elbow into Julius, now back to the right side and Williams two point jump shot, and it's a perfect swish for Keith. He's such good and reading and coming off the screens is nice. One dribble rhythm, shot two to the score one minute into the game as Williams dribbles into the front court for the hours, Saunders all over him defensively. Mormon top of the key, guarded by Davenport stops passes it backward for Williams Williams to the wing and Mormon Mormon driving toward the free throw line. Double teams manages to get it to divine great. Perry was three point shot clangs off the iron and the weak side rebound goes to the Julius pulls up the far sideline for Cincinnati to two is the score now. Davenport pump fakes from three point range. Passes to the opposite corner and Williams step back three hit the side of the backboard, but traveling was called first in the N B. A. That's a regular shot where he takes that side step in college. Soon as he made that sidestep to get the little separation they call the travel. It'll help his shooting percentage since the shot off the side of the backboard doesn't count negated by the travel. Jeremiah Williams Dribbles past center court hears Damian done the leading scorer guarded by the Julius here, the top of the key now done double team down the perimeter. And a soft foul called on Chris Vote. Chris Bull stuck his arm in there as he heads down to try to stop the ball handler. And if he doesn't put that in there, he can't get files 25 ft away from the basket. First one on Chris Williams will throw it in in the front court for Temple. Here's done trying to back down to Julius Bounce pass outside the arc, will you to score three and he hits it, and he holds up his three fingers and looks at Cincinnati's bench. He had his best three point shooting game of his career in the first meeting against Cincinnati. It's not saying all that much. He made two Now the bear cats feed the middle and boat draws it to shot found its good entry pass. But a vote takes his time and catches. It pivots quarter turns and uses that left arm to shield and goes up with the right hand. He gets in and one. Instead, he fumbles across the lane throws it up, and he got bailed out. Vote at the line for a couple of free throws, struggled from the line This year. He's a 39%. His first foul shot is up, and it's too strong. Foul against vote is the weapon if you get the bodies along the front line to foul him whenever he gets in that circle area, That's where he's shooting his highest percentage, But in the two years he's been here he is shooting the lowest he's ever shot. Second foul shot up. That one is too strong is well. He goes over to in the rebound is pulled down by a sky walking Damian done. He's into the front court for Temple. He always have a 5 to 2 lead. Williams, who just made the three dribbles on the three point line. Mormon with a strong drive against Davenport Bounce pass under the hoop Reverse layup by Jeremiah Williams is good. Somebody hit the snooze button for Sanders five straight points scored by his man Jeremiah Williams, seven to Temple Julius outside the arc left. Cross court pass deflected in stolen by Mormon three on three Fastbreak Mormons pass is intercepted by Michael Adams. Woods throws it ahead for Saunders into the lane for boat had his shot blocked. Temple has the rebound. Jeremiah Williams took done for an open three. His shot is a Nair ball, and it flies out of bounds because bold doesn't take his time. He got the ball right in the middle of the paint instead of going up and trying to cock that thing up there, maybe one crab trouble getting a little bit closer. He extends from almost the free throw line and tries to lay it up and get it blocked. Mike Adams. Woods was put into the game a few moments ago for Keith Williams. Now Terry Easton checks in and Chris vote. Sits down. Cincinnati has two points in the bear. Cats trails 7 to 16 43 left in the half. Saunders 43 off the left side of the rim. Weak side rebound goes to Dave Andre Perry Saunders over eight at the college level outside the art. Jeremiah Williams between the circles bounce Pass right elbow to done lobs it down low for Forrester. He's double teamed puts up a shot. It's no good. A foul is called on Cincinnati. Yeah, I was poor. Initial post defense by Terry Easton. He's looking like he's gonna go for the steel. But then, after the ball was caught.

"The second half of those guys credit. The ability to understand why they were sitting over there and what their teammates were doing to be able to hold the game in hand. So when they came back, they were much better. So I think it goes both ways. And you know, I was excited. How they handle that situation with the bomb line is We're gonna compete. We're gonna play hard. We're gonna sit down the guard and you know those things. We were not doing it to begin a season, and that's not a That's not a reflection of who I am or who with this program is and Our guys understand that I think what you've seen last two games is kind of more the identity of this basketball team. Keith Williams didn't turn the ball over yesterday, but I questioned some of his shot attempts. But I shot attempt is better than a turnover because the shot attempts that he makes are at the basket and their rebound. Herbal. He's just off balance, and he's floating from left to right. If they were rebound Herbal and they were enough for us to get second shot opportunities, including Terry Easton, What do you feel about Keith and his shots Elections? Times. Oh, I I questioned shot selection every game. I have the same questions. You doing me? He takes tough shots and buy things keep his Let's take Let's take rim shots and threes and let's stop taking 15 footers. Uh, if you go to Boston Celtics practice, Okay. They're in practice You get you know, three was a three pointer, and it too, is a two pointer if you should have if you shoot a mid range shot with more than five seconds on the shot clock, you only get one point their practices. So basically, let's take those shots when it's less than five or six seconds on the clock because they're bad shots and you know for me to keep his. Obviously he gets he's the leading shot. We used him more than any player in the league. He gets the most shots they play in the league. Rightfully. So there's his ability to score he could do to her things and you get the line. But yesterday I got the line twice. He need to get the line more. She less of those shots, so that those air like turnovers, and I've told that I've been very up front with him about that. Well again. We'll go back to I said to begin in the show. If it's less than five seconds to go because he's the best score. Well, it's not his fault. He's got to go take those shots. So sometimes those numbers are inflated because the shot clock and you know he and I understand that as well. So a Zilong as we're getting great shots within the time period, we need to other Nat. It's so it's so offensive issues, so it kind of goes hand in hand. I do want to get the free throw line. Morin actually want to take a more threes that he's taking right now. He's 41% from three in conference play, so I'd rather shoot more threes and those left to right runners. You've played two games and won two games without having the services of Zack Harvey and Mamadou Diarra. They did travel to New Orleans yesterday, so that would seem to indicate that they should be back soon. Is it just a matter of passing the return to play protocol at this point? Yeah, that's where it's at. So return to play protocol is it could be different for each to each athlete based on their history. And so the return to play protocol is typically could be anywhere from five days to two over week, so This process for an individual player bordered on borders on over two weeks of in activity, So we know that going in and we knew we had no idea we were gonna have them for Sunday, but you never know for sure till the protocol happens. Well, we have for Thursday. I still don't know because that protocol still going on. Every five or six games Last year. You were taking those chunks and you were taking the analytics and you were learning about your team. You made adjustments based on point guard in lineups based on the data and analytics, And you know your team in and out on the 12 games this year. I don't know how many chunks that you were using the user analytics to form an opinion on your team and make adjustments. What have you learned so far? Well, we haven't gone that direction just because it's been so predictable. You know, it's been so yeah, that predictable really. It's it's It's just It's not normal right now. So we haven't been able to really dive into that because I do think that's what that break. You know, The break, I think, helps him. Individual players get a little better, but I think it really allowed us to narrow our focus on the things that we want to become, and So bottom line is, you know I wasn't I Well, I didn't do a good job. Really hold guys accountable. I was those leading some slippage happen. See it like guys play through it. If you watch our substitution patterns right now, you know why somebody comes out of the game. You're the lead. Guys play through those mistakes as much because right now we need to. We need to focus more on the defensive side. So you know older guys accountable more. They're taking more responsibility. We're better half court defensive team right now that we've been this season We're like 15 in the country overall defense. We want to be a tough if the defense team always s. So I think we're starting to get the identity that I want. Now we gotta start executing or some other things better. Now that you've had about a week of fairly full practices and have played a couple of games is it's starting to feel normal again. You don't. There's never gonna be hostage. It's never looking at you talk about this. It's never felt normal. Uh, You can't when you go to these gyms, and there's nobody that neck and then the stains. I don't know that I'll ever feel normal. I mean, you're just you're gonna get your in the game, so you're totally focused on the game. But there's just this is not loud. You can hear everything. It's It just feels differently. So or we immerse more than we've ever been right now. I think yes, I think we understand the environment better now. I think we're immersed in the environment better now, but what our guys go through from a protocol standpoint to get to the game to get to tip off. I just don't expect it ever really feel normal. All right. This is the John Brandon radio show. We're going to take our first time out. Our friend Elliot has been waiting for several weeks to ask you a question, Coach. The airline simply will not allow passengers to where we had again. Two people from a united flight two gentlemen that were Told they had to put on a much less protective cloth mask. They said the health requirements prevented him from doing so, and they were kicked off the flights and because of the fact that United did not recognize that type of mask is an acceptable filtration systems. First mask covering and they're not alone. Other airlines have as well band that or have not allowed it. "With a three Williams outside the art to the free throw line, and Davenport one dribble drives toward the basket. We've got a whistle and a foul called on temp on two lane. Well, they're going to say no. They went out of bounds after coming down with the ball, so he went up for the shot. When he came down, trying to get the offensive rebound of foot was out of bounds. Absolutely. To label throw it in against the press. Inbounded James bounces it back for cross. Now it's Gabe Watson passing for James, who dribbles up the sideline passes into the corner for Forbes. Guns it up top for Gabe Watson. Now it's Walker Julius Defense. Walker waits for the ball screen cross sets it. Julia stays on his man defensively. Walker driving into the lane strip by Terry Easton throws it ahead. Williams with a catch to the rim, lays it in and ties the game at 51 of the best along with Zack Harvey. Best finishers in college basketball this year, 18 for Keith Williams to lead all scorers in the bear cats around a 70 run. Tying the game at 50. See on James between the circles holds it over his head. Bounces it on the wing for Forbes. Forbes driving baseline against Keith Williams lost control of the ball, but a reach in foul is called on Terry Easton. That's just You don't need to do that. He was falling. You just wall up. Maybe use your lower body. The bump him a little bit because he was already falling. He loses the ball. You have another fast break opportunities. Cincinnati has only committed five fouls in the second half. That should not be a shooting foul. I wouldn't think For Jalen Ford's He was not going up. We'll find out after a time out. Since that takes us to the under eight minute media break, 7 22 to go and we are even at 50 apiece. This is Bear cat basketball. Presented by Ukraine News radio 700 wlw. "The team. Just to get the chance to set their defense up and get a breaking 0.100 guys up and see what the heck are we doing? And that's what targeted based on nothing. Was there forced the action got fouled. RJ McGee called for the foul. His first. Easton's first foul shot is good. Nine points for Terry Easton. Second half fouls four called on to Lane zero so far in Cincinnati. No fouls. They've turned it over. But let's see if they can Ride the wave here and get back into what they're supposed to be doing. Second foul shot around the rim. No good. Rebounded by McGee, Cincinnati down by a 0.37 36. Haven't poured back in for the bear Cats vote got up, but he did not check in. Hears pope handing it off on the perimeter. McGee driving against San Martin and Sam gets called for a foul. Sam Martin is not supposed to be here this year. If it wasn't for covert, he would be over in Europe on a work study program for a year, So we thought I was gonna miss him this year, but here he is in the game. Son of former Saint Save Your head coach Scott Martin. Sands had Excellent experience as a bear cat walk on. He's done great academically. 37 36 2 Lane. Here's a free throw line jumper. It is good for Jordan Walker, whose heating up didn't score in the first half. He's got three baskets in the second. Julius back in San Martin sits down. 39 36 2 Lane. Julius outside the arc right to the left side, and Davenport feeds it into the middle of the lane. Vote goes to the hook shot and Miss short, Walker dribbles the ball up the floor for the green Wave up by three Walker feeling it drives to the rim. Easy lay up. Had help defense right there. He just used the Hypo screen and no defender who was guarding the Hypo Screener except just stepped out to hedge 41 36 2 Lane has taken a five point lead. The bear cats lob it under the basket for vote. He was held by cross who was arguing his case, but it was a pretty clear foul. He said. He hooked me and held me. I'm like, Come on, man. That's the oldest trick in the book. Why are you looking at the officials? You have to have a counter to the guy holding you when you got when you have your arm across his chest, and he sticks that arm and your chest lean, push that arm up to your neck and has the ball comes Push that head back. Make it look like he's extended and you get to call every time Keith Williams back in. So the bear cats have their starting five on the floor, Williams left open in the right corner. Lane recovered quickly. Keith drives right to the bucket and dunk city and he almost missed it, But he got it to go in. That's because nobody wanted to displace or lead Chris Boat. The dump down dunk, which left Keep wide open. He has a team high 11 that ends a bear cat drought. Cincinnati trails 41 to 38 Walker, driving to the rim again kicks it out to Forbes. Now it's a three point shot missed by McGee tipped up by Pope. No good. Rebounded in traffic by Davenport. Pope got hit in the face, He's down hurt. Cincinnati has an opportunity to go five on four. But now the officials blow the play dead..

"Who can make up his own rules as the game goes on. Hold the ball out of bounds and these guys is the primary official on that play, so two lane will get the ball as a result. Cincinnati up by 5 28 23. See on James Dribbles past the time line Mason mats and will defend now. Noble days has it just outside the arc bounce fruit feed to the free throw line. Thailand POPE driving shooting missing and the rebound is snatched by Terry Easton. He got knocked over fell down, had the ball go off his knee and out of bounds. No foul, called. You would hear, cause Brandon that jumping up and down, not saying anything to him. It's just adversity makes the play. They haven't scored. Yes, they have the ball back. Ladle. Throw it in from the baseline. Jordan Walker, the Seton Hall transfer holds it over his head, bounces it and caught by Pope. Hands it back to Walker lost it briefly fights to get it back. We've got to tie up. And on the possession arrow to Lane will get the ball. Sanders, Scrappy, Giddy falls on the floor. You don't go down and reach forward. You dive on the floor. You're the first one down there. You call the rookies Get the tie up. Yes, the ball comes back, but that's just great effort. See on James will inbound from the baseline, lobs it into the short corner, Caught by Forbes double and stripped by Mason Madison guns it ahead to Tari East and driving to the whole thing could have been an and one who puts it up with the right uses the right to shield and puts it up off the glass. With the left six points for Terry Easton and the Bear Cats have a seven point lead. 32 23. He said. He scored the last three Cincinnati baskets. Forbes now driving onto Julius got stripped. The ball goes out of bounds off Jalen four and looking Coast G on the bench. The sideline he has letting everybody know we're fired up. We're in this together. And he's really appreciative of the Cincinnati effort defensively and that takes us to the under four minute media Time out 3 49 left in the first half. "Thinking a lot of standard but on the back end is very hard to rebound out of those zones when you got your tallest guy, Mamadou Diarra all out on the perimeter here. Cincinnati has to learn how to gang rebound and Does a doozy has been very dominated interior. They might have to double down on him to be able to get rebounds. File was on Madsen. First free throw good for Morris. Dez a 59 49 Wichita State by 10 709 to go Second foul shot. Good. He makes them both. Mm hmm. A little full court pressure by Wichita State. Meerkats have no trouble getting it into the front court with seven minutes left down by 11 points. Julius thought about a three elected not to take it. Madsen passing on the wing for Davenport. Harvey gets it back to Davenport Turns it over. Here comes a breakaway for Ettien Lay up good. This is late game breakdowns that bear cats can't have here. Right now. You need consistent offense here. Get your best shot you could get and try to continue to get offensive rebounds for second chance points. 60 to 49 Biggest lead of the game three point shot by Julius No Good rebounded by Dez, eh? Slip sliding away unless the bear cats Get some better shots than that. Decided to go back man to man here, which is the smart decision here. Council loses the ball out of bounds. No foul called on mad since the bear cats get a turnover. Terry Easton will return for Cincinnati. Bear cats trailing by 13 6 minutes and nine seconds to go Julius into the front court for Cincinnati has it at the left point passes. Right side for Harvey Harvey driving hits a cutting, Mamadou Diarra.

"Tonight, winning at Moody Coliseum on the campus of SM you Cincinnati with a 10 0 run with less than 2.5 minutes to go down by one point, and they go on to win the game, 76 2 69. Let's take a look at the individual scoring, beginning with the victorious bear Cats, now three and six overall in one and three and league play. They were led by Jeremiah Davenport. 18 points to tie his career high. He also had 10 rebounds. Micah Adam's Woods 14 points, including four for five from outside the arc. Terry Easton 14 points, five rebounds. Four blocks 13 for Zack Harvey. 12 points, four rebounds, four assists for Keith Williams, three points from Mason Mattson and his bear Cat debut, two points, nine rebounds and a dozen assists for David to Julius. More statistics to come, But right now we are joined now live from Dallas by Bear Cats head coach John Brandon. Coach. Congratulations on a tremendous come from behind win. Described the scene in the locker room after the game. If you can. Well, the guys were all things started, you know, came in jumping up and down like you would normally feel celebratory road win. There's none better in sports the winning on the road that's for sure. Really proud of the guys effort. You know, I really thought You look at the statue of the numbers obviously reflect, you know, balance reflected Paul moved reflect things that what would would you'll see on the statute is the preparation in the commitment that these guys made. In the course of the last two weeks that I saw think we also in central Florida. We also it's also but did you we just couldn't finish. Now. We come on the road against you're one of the top teams in our conference and get a ring. It was, it was. It was gratifying because it's a result of a lot of focused effort on the guy's part and just playing the right way, and that's the way we want to play with. Some allowed the steaks and we made a lot mistake's and maybe, you know, some guys get something and some doubt then they got right back in the game. So when we stay in who we are, what we want to do, we got a chance to be pretty good. We enter outside of that. Doing this tremendous privilege. You saw something that made you go to a different lineup and go with a smaller lineup. Um or quicker lineup. What did you see that It was very effective in this game. Well, dear my Davenport. You know the way he's playing right now and will continue to play records State makes this is his game is going to a different level. What I mean by that is now making good decisions. Jeremiah was good for three or four turnovers, and we always take away from the scoring is rebound. Now he's rebounding. You're making the decisions. He's communicating the defense. So what? Once once I could cook for him then I knew that we would go smaller because of his ability to, you know, help us multiple positions. Which one of the reasons why the team had not won as many games as you would like so far this season is that you've got some good three point shooters that just were not making them and Mike Adams Woods is a guy that comes to mind. He shot 59 of them last year and made 37% that's good. So far this year. He was a 20% coming into the game. But tonight they went in for for five. Did you see anything? Was he rushing previously? Or is it just one of those things on kind of a small sample size? Yeah. Sold years before shooters find their mark and We had a great week of shooting and a little bit extra working with guys that sunlight is these guys not to play and you need to rhythm shot, so we weren't getting everybody's trying to get there early on, once we realize that we can share the ball on the ball moves. A next ra past rhythm shot is way higher percentage shots in a jab step. Shot when you have a born, you have three seconds. So those rhythms shots are going to go in when you can shoot. So you know whether we make 10 tonight or not. We're gonna make shots in there were some nice relaxed. Not going to this is not a better shooting team is Is the percentage of seeds suggest just we were often story with I just told. You mean, You said that Mason, Mass. And didn't practice the entire time. We're on the coaches show he gets a cup of coffee. Get three minutes And then three minutes, he found he found the bottom of that net. Well, I think what you've got is he looked up and I thought he looked up out there and It is really proud of our guards, and then we played when we played our big little bit differently. We kept one in the game at a time where we had to. You know, I thought sorry, was a lead down the stretch in terms of blocking shots, and they could play them. The Bob T keep to be a rim protector. So you know we're gonna get there. You know, I said that from the beginning, it's just It's just gonna take some time and in a truncated season in terms of You know about the games played in an amount of Miss practices is just taking a little bit longer. Like You took the lead for the first time in ages with a little less than three minutes to go. SM you immediately answered with a layup to go up by one, and I think, based on some of the That the tough losses you've had with late game situations. It could have very easily gone the wrong way. I could imagine some players being demoralized by that instead. You answered with a 10 hour run, and to do that, you've got to succeed on both ends of the court. Yeah. You gotta get stopped. At that point. When we get stuff were really good in transition. We go now we have had that We've always been good transitional year. The bottom line. This is the end of the game. Damn. It's also the entire game when we did what we were supposed to do, and play the game the right way. Within a week after guys doing the roles they have. Tremendous success when we step outside of those rules rules, taking a tough sell to people hanging on it when it's somebody open in the corner, or, you know, I'm not getting back on defense because we're making multiple efforts when we did that. We weren't very good, So I think there's an understanding now for Martine's perspective, Okay, this is what we need to do. Right. And coach is gonna hold us accountable. We do it wrong. And these guys, you know, I told him for the game. I said, you know, I really want this for you. It's like a father when your Children are sick, and you wish you could take the signature taking From them, You know, I mean, it's how I felt. I just I wish I could take all the pain and take it on because I see they were feeling it. So this is a game that I just couldn't be more proud of our guys and I'm really happy. They get a chance to get a little bit of payoff over or what they put it. The best decision of my life. That's what David to Julius said when he transferred here has played tonight nine rebounds and 12 assists. Locating those shooters that you had with that spread floor. He was exactly what we envisioned when he brought here. How did you see him today? Well, you know what else he did, is he is he is He guarded his tell all in the second half. I mean, we had we, We changed our ball screen coverage is out of switch back to Ah, guard came back today, So I'm gonna get to the coach. I don't need any help. He literally was a one man wrecking crew defensively. So when he's doing that, sorry since protecting the basket, and he's really blame, just get in passing lanes, and you know Zack Harvey and Mike Adams. Let's get loose balls and your goddamn important got a chance to be pretty good. Again, everybody doing their job with a high level and understanding that if Dave does his job impact Michael's job, Michael does his job that the car is job and I think we're starting again. I feel for that and understanding towards Congrats on a tremendous win. Enjoy it, And we'll talk to you Sunday from Wichita. Guys. Thanks. Thanks, Coach. All right. That is Bear Cats. Head coach John Brandon after great win for his team tonight on the road at S. M u Cincinnati wins it by the final score of 76 to 69. We'll take a time.

"I'll pass near the top of the key for Tari Easton. Couple of right hand dribbles in a backward handoff to Micah Adam's woods around the perimeter. It goes. Williams drives baseline, feeds it into the middle of the lane and Jeremiah Devenport lays it in drop in despite Keith, I was afraid for the charge, but he dropped it off before you ran into the defender. Bear Cat score first on their opening possession. They lead S M u two. Nothing. Here's Panda, Mel Driving baseline. He's under the hoop. Opposite outside the arc for Kendrick Davis. Davis did not score against Cincinnati last year Can he's averaging about 20 points a game this year. His three point shot is short. Rebound hits the floor. Davenport dives for It comes up with the ball and Got a foul call. That s m u When that ball hits the floor, the quickness of the bare cash Jeremiah Davenport dives on the floor doesn't allow the ball to roll and he crawls forward. No, he absolutely don't forward gave up his body. Defender jumped on his back. And that was Emmanuel Banda. Mel called for the foul his first. So the bear cats have the ball with a to nothing lead. I want to get back to keep Williams pass to the middle of the lane for that lay up. How many times do we see that against Cincinnati and the Tulsa game? I think he's learned. He's probably listening to your clip. No, I'll tell you, I wonder if the coaching staff showed that over and over again after the Tulsa game and said, Hey, would you drive baseline look to the middle of the pace. Here's Terry Easton in the lane following bank shot missed the rim rebounded by as Sam, You must thanks quickly into the front court Davis outside the arc at the right point. Step behind the three point line defended very tightly by Micah Adam's Woods. You did a nice job against him last year, Davis drives under the hoop keeps going. Now he's in the short corner, trying to throw it outside the arc in the corner and got knocked out of bounds by Davenport..
