"Sure, they've got the wherewithal and they've got they've got the pieces. You know, They've got so many guys young, talented guys that could be useful to other clubs. They can go make that deal if they have to, But I think they're going to wait as long as they can. Well, I'm going to put Kyle Gibson on the Dodgers. That's a good one. Yeah, I mean, the other in Texas. You know, we mentioned Gallo. But Texas doesn't have a ton of pieces that I think you're going to be attractive. But Gibson has certainly been their best picture. Um, you know, and there are some. Yeah, again again and and again, you know if you come to the Dodgers Even a guy like Gibson's had a little bit of experience and in some key games, But if you come to the Dodgers, you're not asked to be the savior. You know, if the Padres pick up a guy, they got a lot of guys near the top of the rotation. The Dodgers are going to say, Come be our number four guy. Don't worry about it. We got we got Bueller. We got Kershaw. You know, we're fine. Just show up and give us six innings. Paul a couple of weeks. I'm sorry. That's all. I just want to say that, please? Yeah. Real quick. Paul, the Cubs for a couple weeks ago. Hottest team in baseball. They have now lost nine in a row is just something that they're going to think about All Star break if they're going to start selling some of their pieces. Yes, See, there's all these teams that we talked about that are sort of on the edge like that. You know, you know, the Cubs are You know, there's seven games out of a wild card. They're 8.5 behind the Brewers. Um they've got to do something here fairly quickly. And the piece about the Cubs that that remains mysterious is what they feel they can do with their key free agents. You know, everybody assumes they can signing, signed Rizzo and bring him back. And everything will be fine there. Everybody was assuming well, maybe you know, maybe they won't be greenback. Chris. Brian, What do you do about Willson Contreras? You know, they got a lot of guys in this certainly bias. They've got a lot of pieces. That I think only they have a feel like Which guys? They even have a chance of signing both from the interests of the player and the long term deal and the interest of ownership in committee the long term deals and I think that's the kid. That's the mystery of you talk to people on other teams, and they don't really have a read what what it is, the Cubs feel like they can do or should do more economically before you even get into the factor of where they are in the race. Clubs will be players. I'm going to put Anthony Rizzo on the Red Sox. How about that? All right back where he started? That's right. Alright, Good, Paul. Wonderful heaven, John. I hope July 4th has been kind to you and, uh, great. Yeah, and we'll catch up in a few. Well, we got the trade deadline, So we'll catch up with you in a few weeks. But I always enjoy talking ball with you. Thank thanks, Paul. Always great guys. Thanks. Right. That is Paul White boy. I love talking ball with him. All right, We're going to take a break. We've got some sound with Larry Doby that I recorded well back at the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown that I thought would be appropriate for today. Terry Crowley is going to join us. We've got much more coming up and we'll be back right after these messages on.

"And Terry Crowley on KNBR, 1045 and 68 v sports leader. All right. We have got baseball coming up, boy. It is May the 15th. We've got so much ahead of us and good good stories, good stories, and one about that bill last year is going to tell us and carry Crowley joins us a swell I said that Abbott pull host is toast that whoever was and whoever it was going to sub, let his house and start moving in. Well, not so fast as they like to say. It sure is. Marty. They just posted where the L A Dodgers are. Signing Albert Pool halls for the rest of the year is a major league contract. So things are changing in Dodger land as we speak, and they have now acquired Albert Pools. Carrie, What do you make of this? Mean Marty. The first reaction is what How is Albert Pools landed on the Dodgers? I mean, this is a roster that was supposed to be deep enough to withstand anything. Is Cody Bellenger out for a lot longer than we initially anticipated? What's going on in L A. I mean And the fact that they have a roster spot to give Albert Google's who was clearly well past his prime. We're talking 8 to 10 years past his prime, right now D F. Ade by an Angels team that's going, you know, not even above 500. Right now. It's just it's stunning bill it to see Albert Google's land with You know, the team that we all assumed would be the juggernaut in the National League West. Carry. Marty and I were talking earlier to go to go in American League team to D. H. Where's he gonna play? Is Max Muncy not gonna play first base? Is he going to go to first base? He's just gonna be a pinch hitter off the bench. You know, you said it right? Carrie. It doesn't make sense. But something in Dodger Landis seeing something that he did in the Angels that they feel that he's got a little spark left, Marty Well, they've had trouble replacing the bench, and Rios is out for the year and Rios plates from first basement, not mistaking. I could be wrong and I didn't They have another injury of McKinstry, so maybe their bench is is really kind of light. But he was emphatic That said he does not want that kind of job to be a guy who comes off the bench and help so they must have made some commitment to him that he is going to see action. At at first base, which to me is amazing because he couldn't get out of his own way with the Angels and the Angels are in last place, so What can I tell you? Look Farhaan Anxiety and AJ Preller and really all the G. M's and president of baseball operations around the National League have to be ecstatic with this stunning. I mean, no disrespect to Albert poodles. He's a Hall of Famer, one of the most accomplished Right handed hitters of his generation. But this move just doesn't make sense for a team that expects Tioga Pete at the top of the division that expects to defend its World Series title that expects to win 1/9 consecutive National League West Crown. I'm still floored by this bill. Yeah, it's a stunner. We were talking about earlier and and I think some of the things that the Dodgers they're saying, like Marty or saying maybe Belle injuries hurt a little more. Maybe they will put some different moves in different positions. But You know what? I'm I'm just a sweet ball are talking right now. I'm stunned. The Dodgers did something like this. With with that move, what else is going to happen? They have to make some kind of corresponding move for that roster. Well, I think there's someone else is going to go on the DL. I thought McKinstry or somebody I saw some name that someone else is hurt. But I think that pool house as they like to say. Read the room. And he read the room and realized he can't dictate to any team in baseball that he is going to be a full time player, starting player and he read the room. And he lives in L. A. He's in l A and you know, they come on. It's the Dodgers in L. A, so for him was probably very enticing. And I would My guess is he will be a a platoon type bench player who will do that for the Dodgers, and if his long as he's willing to accept that Well, take a shot at him. Why not if he came off the Angel di FAA, saying that he may have had some more action from other teams, but he didn't say that. So I think he's come around. I think he read the room. A Marty, you won't mean dinner at a Jos. You know, you told me I was gonna have this at lunch at her two little at new Little original Joe's, but at the same time we will have toast on the menu because you said he is Toasties. Maybe he very lucky He hasn't done anything. Yet, Okay? And I'm gonna will be talking about this the next few weeks. But look, he couldn't lucky could come off the bench in a tough situation and get a hit. You know, it could happen if he'll agree to do that. And Carrie. That's the deal. I mean, think about the Giants. Could they have used him in some way? If he agreed just to be a right handed hitter who came off the bench? Could you use him? Who do? The Giants have? I don't think so. I think that at this point you prefer Darren Rough, and Austin Slater off the bench is right handed hitters you prefer Marie CIA do Bonds, versatility. The one thing that I would add to this Marty, is that an 86 at bats for the Angels this year? Rubber approvals did have five home runs. The batting average was low. The O P s was low, but the Dodgers like you said they know how to pick their spots. They can have successful platoon matchups, and the one parallel that I would draw is we all thought that Pablo Sandoval's career was over when he was designated for a side by the Boston Red Sox in 2017. We said that is it. Pablo Sandoval's career is done and he came back as a successful pinch hitter. Look, the guy doesn't move around the bases. He can't play a position. But he still can knock one out of the park from time to time. Albert Poo holes in did that this season of his 17 hits, five were home runs, So I guess there are worse options he could have in the late innings off the bench. But I just cannot envision a scenario where you're taking way at bats from Gavin Lux, the up and coming second basement in the Dodgers organization to shift Max Muncy over too. Second base.

Terry Crowley Pablo Sandoval Austin Slater Darren Rough Cody Bellenger AJ Preller Max Muncy Gavin Lux Boston Red Sox 2017 Marty 17 hits Dodgers five L. A Abbott L A Dodgers 86 Farhaan Anxiety last year

"Every day winning every day Women and it's just you know whether to Duggar Homer or whether it's d Sclafani and four relievers. But yes, triple about A yes, triple. It's just having Lamont Wade going to play first base that was cool. Everything's humming for the 23 14 giants, who stay in first place and go at it again today, right back at it with Kevin Gausman. I'm giving the ball to your ace at 3 35 against former giant Tyler Anderson about that all this stuff to talk about my cocoa on the Yuma Guest line, Mike Happy Friday morning to you. How are you? Yeah, I'm happy, right? Yeah, man, It's just being left. That made me happy. It was. It was so much fun to watch and, uh He's going in. You were getting all the text from Mike passing. You see who's the PR guy with the Giants is with the club right now. And so you're kind of putting it together. Crawford didn't feel well because you'd had a shot. Second shot, so he was feeling some covert effect to the shot and then Belt who was originally in the lineup got scratched because of some type of tightness in this side. You're thinking, man, how they're going to put this together, and then you saw the line up and you know, Lamont, wait over first base, and you know he's kind of Had restored the bond is short and so you feel like okay, Here's an opportunity. To pee the bed defensively. And they shined. They shine the thing that I look, I guess you get kind of a skewed opinion for me because I'm an old picture, but I love defense. When I was pitching. I would like to get the most defensive team behind me, even if it's sex, but sacrificed offense. I wanted people to catch the ball and I'm not Lamont wait or first base made to play the game. There was a ground ball to third base. And Evan Longoria picked it up all the time. The world through it. I used to this nasty one hop and if it play doesn't get made that that ending starts to go weird against him, right in the modern way picked this thing clean, I'd say on a scale of 1 to 10 of difficulty was it was up there in the high H, maybe the low nines. That's how hard to pick was on the short hop. He makes that play and then resealed. The bond picks it clean. The whole of the whole game was clean game and I just love that about this team. The fact that they To play. They have so many guys who could place different positions. They could represent themselves with the gloves. I think it's so important with this club in their success. I mean, actually, I mean, who knew Lamont Wade would be out at first base last night? I mean, that's just What Farhaan has built in game and it's just the divers until they're building their identity. We're watching this identity play out right in front of us here. And as you mentioned just And no errors. Last night is the deal and by the way, just kind of just, you know, there's a lot of things to talk about it. I'm just looking at the box score, and I'm just kind of just marveling at how Mike talk man has just become Absolute regular Maine state part of this lineup, Mike, I mean, it would mean I know it's a lot of things to talk about. We will, but I was just looking at the box score, and I wanted to say this. You're one for five, scored a run last night, but You're pretty much in every day, dude, Mike? Yeah, I like him in there, and I think one of the significant things he did in his one for five night he saw a ton of pitches. And I think that's so important. Guys who were in the top of life that they're able to see pitches. Get, you know, I mean, hey, I think he had. I don't know how many pitches? Yeah, but there were a lot. I think he had 17 17 pitches in his first two of bets. Yeah, I can't begin to explain how that wears on the guy on the mound because you know if you have a guy who's leading off And he's getting 17 pitches out here. You know, it's set it up for a big inning because then you get to the next guy. And now here comes the beef, and now you throw in close to 20 pitches. And That's when you make mistakes, and now you're you're set up to make mistakes in the middle of the lineup, so the importance of Ah leadoff hitter who could grind it and get pitches out. It is enormous, and that's what he does. That's what the Giants do. They see more pitches than any other team in baseball, and I think that's one huge part of their success. They get starting pitchers out of the game They get in the bullpens early. And that's significant when you take one of your best arms on your team and get him out early. I mean, even if you get out and ending or two outs early, because the pitch cow that determines who comes out I mean, you've done your job, You set yourself up for opportunity. And and talk, but I mean, he's really good at that. It's incredible and you bring up this point That's been written about this week, Terry Crowley wrote about it. Farhaan talked about it on can be our with Tober, Kruger and Brooks. That's this phrase that they were introducing in spring training culture. Time of possession. So funny how you know it's funny like baseball's baseball in like forever. It's you know, you want to drive a pitch counts and you want to work at a nice pace, but they've now invented this thing called Time of Possession and You know, I don't know if you think it's getting kind of funny or silly or whatever or greater, but I just love your thoughts on this idea of time of possession for people don't know..

"Left side 25 2015 10 5 left side of the end zone Touchdown Ohio State's 32 yards on the touchdown run after a 32 yard catch and run the play prior praise sermon. As the Buckeyes on the board for this man baseball his life. It's your guest host of the lead off spot. Bay Area news groups. Giants beat writer Terry Crowley hear him by saying to your Apple Home pod play KNBR. Trade to the Bay was true. On Thursday night when the Sanders killed 40. Niners made Trey Lance the quarterback of the future. It was true on Friday night as well. Third round draft pick Trace sermon. Joining the 40 Niners offensive contingent out of Ohio State a lot to like about this 40 Niner strap. That's how every fan base in the NFL feels after draft weekend, All 32 teams felt like their team came through with an upgrade. But I really do think that the future of the 40 Niners has changed over the weekend because this team has an offensive identity. Now with Trey Lance Ah guy who can extend plays a guy who can run the football as well as past the football and Trey sermon, joining this offense as well. A second round draft pick Aaron Banks. One of the largest offensive lineman the 40 Niners have pursued and cow Shanahan and John Lynch's tenure. I'm really excited about the run game possibilities, And to me, that's what Kyle Shanahan has always done best. His dominate opposing defense is through scheming up favorable run matchups, favorable defensive alignments through what he could do on offense, and now he has more athletes to help out this sporting matters. Offensive system trace sermon an interesting pick. Of course, because the 40 Niners for the past few seasons have gone with wide receivers in early rounds of the draft. We saw the 40 Niners do it. Not so successfully trading up for Dante Pettus. We saw them try and get Jalen Hurd in the third round. We all know how that has worked out so far, although San Francisco's still remaining optimistic about her chances of impacting this offense, But I like the certainty that you get would trace sermon who produced at Oklahoma who produced after transferring to Ohio State and produced on the biggest stage is like Last year as a grad transfer with the big 300 yard game that we talked about in the Big 10 championship. And then, of course, playing well against Clemson later on. So one thing that I want to touch on what Trey Lance's John Lynch's comments that post draft about what they saw in him or Trey sermon. I should say what they saw in him why they felt comfortable going after running back. So here's the 40, Niners general manager on the new running back out of Ohio State. You look at our backs in the past, and I think one common element is the speed and you may Look at his 40 time and say he doesn't really fit but sometimes 40 times can be deceiving. I You know, I think What speaks to us is like is 10 time was very good. And so you see that burst You see that ability to stick his foot in the ground, break tackles and hid it in a hurry. And then he's very adept at making the you know the free safety. The second Second level defender Miss. And so you know, they really good out of the backfield in the past game is well, I think he's a good fit for what we do. It was exciting, you know, colonized started this morning kind of watching the backs and it was fun. T o be able, and I think the move was prompted by just a growing feeling that Trey was a really good fit for us. And I think we stayed patient. But when we felt like, all right, our luck's about to run out. We made the move and we're happy to be able to do so. Make no mistake where he most hurt is still the home run hitter for this offense when the 40 Niners have a schematic advantage when they think that they can take a team deep through the run game. Most her will be the guy in the game for cow Shannon. He's the one with the breakaway speed, but where he moster has dealt with injuries. At times. He's probably not as effective when you give him the ball more than 15 times per game. The 40 Niners have seen that over the last few seasons, and they saw how effective he could be in the 2019 2020 post season when he was fresh. And well rested. He dominated against the Minnesota Vikings have the historic performance against the Green Bay Packers. And that's why the 40 Niners felt that it was necessary to go out and get Trey sermon to aid this backfield. He's someone who could have more of a day, one impact than Trey. Lance. In my opinion, I think that Lance is gonna have some growing pains. Lance is gonna be someone who you're not going to work into the offense. One week one. I really do think that the 40 Niners will defer to Jimmy Garoppolo at the outset of the season. Look, if Trey Lance passes him in week two and week three and practice that I do think that they will make that change. But I really feel confident that trace sermon is going to be a big addition. Right off the bat through this 40 Niners often so is exciting. His tray lances for the next decade Trace sermon gets me a little book more excited for the month of September when it comes to watching this 40 Niners offense on the field. Another guy that I want to touch on from this 49 of drafts. Been round pick Aaron Banks. I thought it was really interesting. The 40 Niners targeted a guard on offense because you don't often see that. In the first few rounds of the NFL draft teams were much more reluctant to take guards and they are to take tackles because tackles provide that premium value. They can stop pass rushers on the edge There number one job is to protect the quarterback. Keep them up right. And so the 40 Niners already gave all of that money to Trent Williams in the historic contract they picked up the fifth year option of Mike McGlinchy said There was Really no need for this team to go out and get a tackle this year, but they still wanted to fortify the offensive line with Laken. Tomlinson started in that left guard former first round pick who they traded a few years ago from the Detroit Lions to get him and he's been great. Ever since Arriving in San Francisco, they went out and got Aaron Banks and El Sereno Native Bay Area Guy grew up 40 Niners fan out of Notre Dame. So Michael Glenn, She's got some familiarity with him. And I think that banks is someone £325 to isn't necessarily the proto typical offensive line. And for Kyle Shanahan Zone scheme, But he is someone who offers ah lot of intrigue at the position because of how different he is in couch. Shanahan talked about some of that why the 40 Niners pursued Aaron Banks. People talk about. It's always one small guys, but that's not the case we want..

Dante Pettus Mike McGlinchy Michael Glenn Terry Crowley Jimmy Garoppolo Trent Williams Tomlinson Jalen Hurd John Lynch Minnesota Vikings Aaron Banks Trey Lance Kyle Shanahan Green Bay Packers Detroit Lions 32 yards 32 yard £325 Friday night Trace

"How the game comes to an end. In 10 Rockies beat the James 75 that should do it. All right. Well, if we were looking for a nickname for if the Giants and the Warriors both win when they're both at home playing games at the same time, Calling. They both played home and they lose. The Warriors get the breaks beat off them by the Dallas Mavericks the worst loss of the season. No, it wasn't a 53 point loss. I'm gonna go with the loss last night that felt like a playoff game, and the maverick showed up to play, Steve Kerr said. We did not have our guys ready to go. And then the Giants, who at one point had a lead in this game and then cough the lead in this game against the Colorado Rockies, I guess they were gonna lose all 81 of their road games but would have a nice to pull that one out last night and go into extra innings. Uh, I think you're such a pain in the ass, man. Good morning to you Happy Wednesday. To you, Adam. Coping with you in the leadoff spot is we are every week Gave 5 to 6 A.m.. We're gettinto more the Golden State warriors stuff later. I do want to talk about the Giants last night, though, it's just a loss Dodgers did lose. Last night. Padres lost his well to Arizona so giant sort of hold server or hold steady in the National League West standings But in thinking about what happened last night and talking about what happened last night, I'm sure there are people out there on Assad on Twitter as I was going to bed at the end of that game. I did get out there for five innings Last night, I saw Brandon Belt take the lead that I dipped out right after the bottom half of that in, and Buster Posey stays red hot Aaron Sanchez trying to continue his. We call it a hot streak. He was continuing to get outs, but a leadoff Excuse me. A two out lock in the first inning came back to bite him and and that was it. He didn't leave the game with the bases loaded. Jose Alvarez came in and got out of it. That was all she wrote for the outing for Aaron Sanchez. But I think a lot of people last night were upset about Gregory Santos being used in the 10th inning. Her get Kapler's explanation after the game and I gotta say, I don't totally fault him for going to Gregory Santos. I think the problem right now for the Giants if there isn't an identifiable issue outside of The lack of consistency from the offense, and I think you know the solo home runs and the ball's leaving The ballpark in. They did put up 12 the other night, and they've moved the line pretty good. Obviously, they were tied with the Dodgers atop the National League West and still are entering today with an opportunity to win a series against Colorado. But I think the most identifiable issue for the Giants right now is that there is not really a right hander outside of Tyler Rogers and the Giants bullpen. The game. Kapler can trust. Now you get to the 10th inning there and your options is, he said yesterday is you're pretty much down to Matt Whistler. You've got Gregory centers and you've got Caleb arrogant. Now, I was texting with Terry Crowley last night. And by the way, Carrie gonna be in for me on Friday and Monday and Tuesday next week. I'm going up to read. I'm gonna go to the Grand Sierra resort and hang out session. I'm gonna lay by the pool, maybe eat a steak. Something nice this weekend, but Carrie crowd we gonna be in on Friday. And on Monday Tuesday But I was texting with him last night. About why he thought maybe Santos was the guy and he said, Yeah, Where's Kayla Burger in this situation? Why isn't he the guy coming in and I sort of think like you're going to actually eating. You got this stupid runner on second base. He trots out there and you're hit in the middle of the order here, right? You got a guy like like Trevor story. He's about to come up. S a right handed hitter. He's never seen Gregory Santos enters while I get knocked around a little bit. This last outing, Do you trust Matt Whistler coming in and flipping up sliders, too? Trevor story that was put together three consecutive scoreless outings, but he's been in 11 games this year. He's allowed runs and five of them and in three of those five outings is a lot more than one run, including three days ago for four days ago when he allowed two runs in the ball game against Miami, So I really don't think right now, Matt Wisler is in a position to be pitching high leverage games or high leverage. Innings on you may have used them later or needed him later. Kayla Barrenger might have been the option there, but I also understand not wanting to go lefty righty if he brings in the left even maybe Trevor story gets the hidden. We're sitting here talking about why he didn't go to the writing. Why didn't go to Matt Whistler? And I just don't believe there's a guy that Gabe Kapler has tons of confidence. And right now, now Johnny Tosca on the voice of the Sacramento River Cats. He's been down there are out there in Sacramento, calling those games since Boy. I don't even know 2001 or something like that. Maybe 20 years or so since the since the they were part of the A's system since the river Cats were an affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, he's going to join us on the other side. Talking about some of these pictures. Camillo DeVol, Gregory Sanders, I do want to talk to him a little bit about Nick Tropeano as well. Some of these other guys who we could see later this year because the Giants are going to need some right handed relief. Help now. Logan Web We thought, Oh, this might be one of these options. In that game where Johnny Cueto was pitching so damn well and then he goes down with that last rain, And now all of a sudden you gotta put Logan went back into the rotation, and it was pretty effective. I mean in his last out and get that triple right..

"Yeah. I mean, I'm interested in that. I wonder if they underwhelm. I don't know that Crawford could be movement and based on the season that belt had last year as good as he was. I mean, if he's anywhere close to that, I wonder what his value would be. Especially for a team that, you know, Let's say there's an injury and you got a short porch in Boston. You have a short porch in New York for left handed hitters. I wonder what his market would be. We've talked about that. I think the other side of it, and I think Terry Crowley wrote this Luciano eventually that I've heard that they're going to move Luciano Luciano around the diamond this year playing little its second not your short but 2nd 3rd. What first baseman? I guess Joey Barton could move to first, but they don't have anybody pushing Brandon Belt. Like they, you know, Shortstop you go buy one or Luciano. I'm not sure he's gonna be ready in 20. Years and now 21 22. I'm not sure. But who do they have? Who is the in a cool thing? When you go to MLB dot com and on the Giants page, they have a depth chart where you go through like a football team and look at every position. Who's that? Who's that? There isn't a young phenomena first base pushing Brandon Belt, you know, out of the organization. They don't have anybody. Yeah. I'm not. I've heard 100 Bishop it first base, but that's still come first. That way out feel no, I know He's an outfielder first, but I've just I've heard that he might be a guy. You know if there's a glut of outfielders that they look at, I don't know I've heard, but I've I've heard everywhere for 100 Bishop. I've ready to play center, but he's a big guy. It's 6 ft. Five so could make sense of the first baseman. But Who knows? Just shaking all these, you know. Look, if any, if most of these guys make it, that would be great for the Giants. It sounds like You know, they have been highly rated as far as the system now goes. Who knows who's gonna make it? Who's not? But I heard his name, but you're right. There's no there's no fee Nam. Where is at shortstop, for example, They seem to have a guy So I'm looking at the Slayer belt listed as your first baseman Flores and rough behind him, and that's on the depth chart. Let me go 40 Million and see, but they don't They don't have. Ah, I don't even know what roles during rough if they don't have a universal Dhe's even make the team Here in Rome. I wouldn't think Wouldn't think And looking Wilmer Flores complete first. He's not young. On. How else did they put over there? Pablo is long gone. Lord is jazz. Jason Vossler place He played all over the place. Thank you Know the guy they brought in this year, and he plays a lot of space. Anyway. Yeah. There you go. There is your foreplay. A little bit of dream on Steve Kerr on curry. Adrian Peterson talking about playing until he's 40. And he would like to go and make an old folks home in Tampa with Tom Brady and Gabe Kapler on the return of Buster Posey, who, at least for the beginning of spring training that is the biggest story and then all progress. "But I don't think they are where they were, where, you know they were confident they were. They were like they talk to each other. Like Kevin Durant. One of the people. He talked to you. It was Bob Myers. Very migrate, right. Those were the people he kind of talked to, so I don't think they're there. Maybe they get back to that. Who knows? But some of this stuff, too, is like man. This is how we all are right. You work with some people, you cool. You spent a lot of time together and then you change guys, and it turns out You're in the cool. He might have thought. Were you working together? We're gonna relationship because he's right. It was like, Yeah, Like I know father with you, but now I have another job with other people. I'm close to it so Everything is put in his proper space. So I do feel like they're They have good relationship. They they've worked their way back to a good relationship, but I don't think it was what it was because they were really tight. At one point, in other words, were Before we let you go, and you gave us a little insight into this, but and I always think you do such a good job in the relationship field and I'm terrible at it. So did you said you don't like Valentine's Day. Did you do anything for Valentine's Day? I got my daughter something like I got her like a Valentine's gift. She 13 now and I'm sure I'm like I'm already warned with teenage boys, So I was just like I'm gonna set this bar so high. But that little say candy and little Disney cut out car. They're gonna work, so I want her to turn her nose up at these little week. Valentine's gifts because their daddy gotta some way better in that. So that it was about Valentine's Day was a bar and let's just go ahead. Start raising this bar for these little knuckleheads. You know, saying when she got the food should be a high school next year, so I'm starting it. I went all out. I got a new person who's I gotta swears and the like. Yeah, She got a nice little earliest whether she liked it, Leah. She got some nice cheese. It was offers in it all night. I was like, Yeah. Let them boys know they're gonna have to bring it when it's time to come. We're not doing this little Smurf. Little peeling sticking my line. No, We're not doing that. No, sweetheart candy. It's legit. Good dive of chocolate, like expensive stuff. Where's you know? I'm saying? Step it up for my daughter. That's good. Did you see Aisha? She needed stitches because she was trying to fancy open a bottle of champagne. She cut her hand. So that's what they did at Valentine's about that. To get stitches. Do it These two days is there I'll move out of town today. That's awesome. Hey, thanks, man. Always appreciate the insight will talk too soon. I have a go, you two Thank you. Marcus. Did you hear that story? She was trying to open champagne and celebrating. They lost the night before you sell it. I guess it was Valentine's Day, and she was like trying to open a bottle of champagne and some fancy way and Cutter, and she had to go to the hospital and you four stitches. Michael meanness and somebody over to do that for her. Even think doesn't get hurt. Yeah, you would think but anyway, yeah, that's how they spent their Valentine's Day at least a little bit of it in the hospital. In here some stitches before their home and watching his social media. It's huge, huge. That's a big story. People need to know if you know what's going on here. Marcus, who has some interesting things to say about dream on. We'll get into that conversation and remember, it is spring training and we've got everything going on around. "Tuesday. Hope you had a great long weekend. Fan fest. Starts with Mark Willard tonight. Yes, and do be yes, and do be tonight and the schedules as this morning show. Griffin back tomorrow will do Fan Fest. Couple of Giants players. TK be on Thursday. We will be the grand finale on Friday, actually not the grand finale because we're gonna be talking to players, coaches and such on Saturday as well, so tune in all day long on Saturday. Fan fest is we get ready for spring training. And by the way, Carrie Crowley's gonna join us at 12 30 today, and he's already in Scottsdale, which is nice. Did he bring his home studio with him? I was so impressed. How nice and clear. He sounded last time He was on with us. I'm like, Where is he in the studio. So I don't know if he I assume he's bringing his comrades and so unit down too easy because he's gonna be out with Marty a lot. It's gonna be on with copes a lot doing podcast, so we'll be able to hear him and Crystal clear. Hopefully calm Rex quality. And it's a little I mean, guys are reporting now, but they you know, we had time unless Stella on right after he signed right, and I said When he going down, he said, I'm already there. Yeah, so he's Because I think they were looking at Ah, you know, a week or so early possibility of reporting and a lot of guys and they're you know, they're lining up homes and everything so In position. Players do arrive a little early as well. But I think tomorrow is the first full scale workout for pitchers and catchers. So And it'll be interesting to hear from Carrie. Just how many catchers they have. I think they're all there, right because Sally Posey, Bart Bailey, my missing anybody else? Chadwick Trump. I believe there is well. Ruba. Wait time last year. I'm not saying John. I thought about it for a minute, but I want Like when you're saying, Wow, you mentioned Buster. You know, there's a lot of story lines around the pitching, and you mentioned Johnny Cueto to see what kind of shape busters and I'm sure they're gonna talk to him earlier about this, and I don't know when. He's gonna be on the station. At some point this week. He probably will be, But to me, that's that's the number one thing. I want to know. How's he looking, housing feeling? How was opting out all those things? How does he feel about, you know, possibly mentoring Joey Barton, all these guys and how's he feeling about the team? I just That's the guy I want to talk to. First. When you hear what's going on with him. We'll put it out request. Maybe we'll get him. But, you know, I wonder how they're even gonna do Saturday. They're gonna come Saturday off. I mean, it's kind of a work day. Usually, the fan fest is the great send off to send them to Arizona. It's the week after the Super Bowl, they roll into town. Then they go away. But they're going to start working. So I don't know exactly how the schedule is gonna work. But If you recall that I know you do. We had buster on our panel last year with Marie CEO Yeah, Brandon Belt. And we asked him about the surgery and the hip and He was not going to come out and say, you know, I'm back to my 2012 form, and then I'm gonna tear up the National league again. But No talking to Marty Laurie and a little bit. We saw a video. They were all poised and crew can Kaiping guys John, that song? Um they were expect he was driving the ball last year. I'm not gonna say like 2 2012 year, but certainly not what we've seen. The last few years when he you know, he is on base plus slugging was down to We could get a promo. It's down almost 6 80. You don't want him down that low. He got it up to 6 88. But when he Anyone in N V. P was up, You know 9.5 957 so I people were, you know, optimistic that he was gonna have a bounce back year. And not just, you know, play pepper with the ball and barely able to put it in play. He had some of the ugliest wings. I would say the by fire ugliest ones I've ever seen from Buster Posey in 2019, What's wrong with him? And it was, you know the surgery he had, You know the hip problem labor him in there. S so I think he was gonna have a good year last year. By all accounts, anecdotally, we didn't really, you know, see a lot of it with our eyeballs. Then he opted out, so I think I think they're hoping one way the other Johnny's. She's a middle of the order hitter whether they hit him too. In the line up for three or four. You know, I think five would be the lowest they would be. I think you're anticipating him being back in the middle of your lineup and doing damage again. Had be huge. I'm looking at so the last time and again it was maybe the last time he was healthy 2017. He had 3 20 within 8 61 0 P s so So that's 2017 and then injuries obviously 105 games in 1814 games in 19, and last year, he opted out, Um Maybe last year was the best thing that he ever could have done. And I know that it was because he had the twins at that they discussed but I wonder if not only that was a big part of it, but where he just looked at it and said, You know what? Let me just get healthy once and for all. And maybe that's maybe that was part of the reason. I don't know. I don't know if you ever discussed that, or Senator we ask him about it, I understand was for a family reason. That was the main reason but I wonder if any of it was. You know what This is gonna be a short season. Why not just sit it out? Maybe that was part of the thinking is well and healthy. Well, Kerry talks to him a lot. So let's talk to Terry Crowley. I don't think that was it. I think I think that may have been. Obviously he just had twins. They went through a long, arduous process to adopt and to be able to match it all. It was just he was going to do what was best for his family. End of story, and I kept bringing up when the team was hovering around 500. You know what Buster op back in and maybe catch in the postseason. Like the old days or at least come back for September or you know towards the end of the year, and he made a decision and that's what he lived with, and he made the right call. There's no doubt there's no looking back on it. But I think he I think he felt like his body was back last year, so he should be another year removed. From that, and I don't know exactly. You know, I think the hip was a gradual deterioration in there and If I remember correctly because I was on giants. That's the last time I was on Giants full time, I believe was 17. I think he had just like two homers the entire second half that year, he would..

"Crowley. He covers the Giants for the Bay Area News group carries nice enough to hang out with us on the home against line here in the Tolbert, Kruger and Brooks show. Carrie, We always appreciate the time how you doing, man. Um, well, especially now that baseball's coming back looking forward to head on down to the desert soon. How are you guys? We are doing fine and we share your sentiment. You know what baseball's here? Let's go ahead and get it on. Unfortunately, it sure seems like When it comes to the National League, a specific in the National League West. We kind of know who the big dogs are gonna be the Dodgers and the Padres. But I don't think that's gonna make this giant season any less interesting and Intriguing is the rotation eyes that the not necessarily the biggest issue on this team, but is that something that really needs to be sorted out and hashed out in spring training and when we get answers when we get so once we get to opening day? I think it's certainly the biggest concern right now, Rod and you look at the rotation the Giants are planning around right now. It's Kevin Gosman, Johnny Cueto, Anthony DeSclafani, Alex Wood, and then a competition for the fifth starter job. And right now you look at that and say the front runner. Is Logan Web, but I would not be surprised at all if they added one more major league free agent Edition. Maybe swing a trade somewhere with using their excess infielder BOPE in depth and potentially signing two or three guys to minor league deals who can compete for jobs in the rotation like they did last year with Trevor Cahill. Thais Ross few years before that, with Derek Holland just because Go from 60 games to 162 games is a monumental challenge in itself to do it with the rotation. The Giants are trying to do it with where you've got a number of guys who are trying to come back from bounce back seasons or coming off of injuries. I mean, that is a really, really difficult task, not even to mention the division that they're in. Center field. I mean, they were rumored to be after Jackie Bradley Jr. He still hasn't signed. It Sounds like he wants maybe a four year deal or maybe a five year deal. I don't think I can't see them going that long with him with all the outfielders they have. In the pipeline. Where do you think they stand with Bradley? You think they're out? You think they're still monitoring? You think there's a chance? It seems like everybody's kind of blocking it and a long term deal for him. Yeah, I would imagine they're monitoring Larry. I don't think that anything is likely. And I wouldn't say that they're probably even in on Jackie Bradley Jr at this point, especially after the addition of Lamont Wade via the trade with Minnesota and trading Sean Anderson to get the left handed hitting center field prospects. But I think that they'll move forward with Tommy lost Ella being the left handed edition, the bath that they were talking about that they were looking for, and I think that list l A in the infield really does compliment some of their other left handed hitters. Well, you looked the lineup. They could have against righties. You have less Stella, you have Alex Dickerson, You have Mikey Stransky, Brandon Belt. That's a really tough quartet of hitters to navigate through and then in center field. I would say that Marie she had a bomb is probably the front the front runner to get most of the playing time there, but expect way to compete in spring training. Maybe Steven Duggar will find his way into the mix. He's still on the 40 man roster in a few years ago, the judge, we're very excited about him, and so I just think that center field is no longer as big of a priority because they did address that left handed hole in their lineup by adding less Stella. Carry. Which one of the young guy is, Uh, you are most likely to come up and play and get some games and some of bats or some endings this year. The really tough question to answer, Tom because all of the young or damn it answer. I can't answer it. Well, all the young really exciting guys gonna be playing in San Jose, it lo Wei and Eugene it Hi, eight this year, and so you're going to see Marco Luciano Hunter Bishop Louise to review you're gonna be hearing those names all season, but they're really not gonna have a chance to impact this Giants lineup if there was one guy Who I said by the middle of the summer or the end of the season. If he really had an opportunity, it would be Elliott Ramos. And, Of course, Joey Bart's going to be in the mix. We know that he'll probably start the season in Triple A, but eventually he's going to be in that tandem with Buster Posey. But Ramos is the guy who they're looking for. To make major strides. I'd say, probably double a triple A first half of the season. They have to add him. The 40 Man roster by the end of this winter, anyway, so you might as well take a look at him at the end of the year, particularly with the power production. He can give you to see if he can still be that premium center field prospect that they were hoping for when they first drafted him back in 2017. And so I think that hopes were pinned high on Ramos right now. We're talking Giants with Terry Crowley, who covers the Giants for the Bay Area News Group, a group led by the San Jose Mercury News. Carrie is joining us on the Omagh guess line. Do you think the Giants are going to out of necessity have to spend Portion of the beginning of the season..

"See of the Yuma. Guess line. First of all, Carrie. Thanks for joining us, and I did see the Rosenthal thought piece. It looks like they've got the safety protocols in place. They're gonna have a few tweaks. Some of the rules are coming back. But I didn't think baseball start on time. Anything. Spring training would start on time, but it looks like that's we're gonna get. Yeah, John. It's really interesting because for most of the off season, everyone I talked to, especially the Giants organization felt like a delay was just inevitable. They were always targeting February 15 February, 16th. As the day that pitchers and catchers were tentatively scheduled to report, But no one actually believed that until about two weeks ago, and so there's kind of been this mad scramble to get housing. Get situations down there in Arizona, all set up so they can do this safely and Welcome players into the Scottsdale complex in a way that, you know, mitigates the possible spread of covert and, you know, five days before the start of spring training is not always the best time to get everything under way and scheduled and all set to go from a detail standpoint, But it does seem like they finally got things in place for this. So we were talking earlier. They they have gone to the seven inning double headers and holder's gonna boo right now, but extracting start a runner on second base, and it's all because of the pandemic, and we're not through this yet. But the one thing that's interesting to me is that there they have not agreed to yet the Universal D H which would seem like that would be in line with the other two rule modifications for last year. So why Is that not been agreed to yet and is that something that they're still putting on the table and taken off the table? Well, it seems like both sides have wanted to use the Universal D H as a bargaining chip in their labor relations over the past year. Plus and they were able to do so last season Greg's we saw, But this year I thought that you know all systems would be go, even if they couldn't reach an agreement on a shortened season, even if they were going to push back the year Regardless of any of that, I always thought that the Universal D H. Was going to come. But at this point it feels like the league is holding back more than the players are. That's the last I saw on this because the league sees it as something as a bargaining chip that they can use potentially late in the spring or at some point next off season when the Ciba is up December 1st. And so it feels like the owners are the ones who don't want to, you know, implement that just yet, but At the same time. I can't imagine that many owners would want to go into a season where they've got their high price pictures swinging the bat after they weren't doing that last year. They certainly weren't preparing this offseason to swing the bat. I can't imagine there will be a lot of that during spring training as they wrap up For the regular season. So the universal DHS still something that I could see getting implemented a few days before the season. Obviously, that wouldn't be ideal for National League teams who wanted to prepare for this all season with their free agent and trade pickups. But it is something that really isn't the best interest of both sides. Terry Crowley joining us make sure you're following him at K underscore Crowley. Reed is great stuff in the very news group is well, so about a week ago, there was some things being written that the government wanted to push it back. That wanted to get people to have vaccines. Maybe the players get vaccines. Maybe the owners wanted it to be so that you could push it back so that more potentially fans could get into the into the stadium. So is there anything right now? That would stop us from starting to the government step in or hearing none of that, and we're moving forward. I think the only thing right now would be major outbreaks in both Florida and Arizona. Among these teams and situations where especially close to opening day, you've got a massive number of players who are unable to go just because Corbett has spread through the clubhouses and through the locker rooms, and it would just be a situation where the players notice would take a step back and say This is really a bad idea, but As far as government is concerned, Major League Baseball wanted to push the season back, but unfortunately for them there in the two states and spring training Florida and Arizona that really don't do a whole lot to mitigate the spread of covert 19. These states are very loose. You've got fans indoors and NHL arenas in Arizona right now and in Florida. That's one of the states were MBA teams are allowed to have fans, so it would be hard for them to say all of these outdoor baseball activities where all of these protocols are in place to kind of reduce player interaction. Key players safe. It'll be really hard for the league to say. We can't do that to be really hard for local governments to say that they wouldn't be supportive of that because we do know what's going on in other leagues in those states right now. All right. Uh, one item. Uh, that's come to light in the last few days that I find incredibly interesting, in effect that Major League baseball's being honest about this, which leads to what were they were doing previously. So Major League Baseball is going to quote unquote slightly deaden the baseball This coming year, and we've had a major major surge in home runs, and I don't think it's just necessarily a A philosophy or AH, swing Pat. That's part of it. But there's no question you could see the ball's been jumping. So are they going to slightly dead in the ball or less lively, which they've been doing? For a number of years. So what is going on with the baseball right now? Carrie, I think it'll be somewhere in between the extraordinarily live ball. We've seen the past three seasons and the somewhat live ball that we saw a little bit before that when home runs really did start to rise, Greg, I don't think that it will be dead and from that. Ball that we saw and you know the early 20 tens, but it is a really fascinating subject that Major league Baseball is showing some transparency on for the first time because for so long, and I remember players going off about this, remember Madison Bumgarner pulling out to baseballs at his locker, and this was between 2017 and 2018 and showing where the seems fit differently on his hands when he gripped his fastball and saying Look, you can see the seam is lower. Here. You can see the seam is higher here and he pointed out, never wanted his name attached to something like that, because a lot of players or scared to take the lead on publicly. But, you know, players were very concerned about the makeup of the ball, and they weren't happy that they weren't getting answers from the league with regard to what the ball would look like how the ball would travel and things like that. And so the fact that the league is showing some sort of transparency here, I think is a good sign. But then again, This is really only the beginning stages. I saw the report that you did. Greg and I'm really interested to dig in because if they do come out and really provide a lot of details about the ball provide well, a lot of details about the way the ball was traveling in the past. Maybe we could have a better way to account for these statistics that have been put up over the last 3 to 4 seasons. Uh, by the way, check out the copes and Crowley podcast at knbr dot com..

"In theory, Alex Canario, you're gonna start to see I would hope Elliot Ramos at some point, maybe at the back end of this year. I don't know if Marco Luciano is going toe to sniff the bigs this year, But there's already I mean, he's in baseball. America's top 100 prospects already. So this is like you had one of these guys with all this young talent, the 100 bishops they're supposed to be here in the next 2 to 3 years. I think the Giants have a pretty intriguing young core called me a homer because I checked, But like you Sprinkle in one of these prospects air some of these prospects with one of these big name free agents. We're talking. That's the makeup for success, right? Yeah, absolutely. They're in a position to where, if three or four, these big prospects panned out two or three big free agent signings or big free agent come inside with Sam Frisco Giants? 2022 2023 2024. They could be contending with the Padres and Dodgers atop the nationally West, especially with far Hunt's ability to find talent on the margins. Mikey's Trump's key Alex Dickerson, Darren Rough, Donovan Solano, There is a track record there. There is no reason to believe that that is going to slow down any time soon. So maybe 2021 isn't going to be the brightest year for the samples go Giants, but ownership has clearly given them some room to spend with Gosman. And lost Ella and a few of these other guys, and I think that things are gonna start to get really intriguing beyond this season. I look back, and I'm like boy. Thank God. Bryce Harper didn't picture for Giancarlo Stanton. Giancarlo Stanton is the big one Had he done that That would have really hampered the franchise. Was that before far and even got here or was that was that was that was Bobby Evans last Chase. Shohei Otani might have been part of the last chase, and I mean I don't know what the future holds for him is a two way player, but I would love covering Shohei Otani just selfishly like watching him play, So that's fun to watch man. He's got crazy powers all fields like he's hitting balls off the ground, and he's lying about two to right field. So, hey, we're gonna stick with the baseball conversation. We'll wrap it up a little segment on the other side talking Hall of Fame because there's this Curt Schilling stuff. There's the bomb stuff. It's a different story. I know that you I mean, basically, you have the same debate conversation every year, but a little bit of a different twist on it this year being that's how the fuck like it's the second to last year. All these guys have one year left on the traditional baseball writers pole before they end up with the Veterans Committee, so we'll talk about that. On the other side. "I think that there's hope that he could be an opening day starter a triple A. And maybe a Christian A Thomas tight for those of you who really follow the giant cl closely. But, yeah, I would need to lay eyes on his skill set in spring training to give you a much better assessment of where he's at after not being in the banks for so long, Okay, I gotta ask you about the Niners here before we let Ugo Salad goes to the Jets. He takes the floor with him. You got me Go. Ryan taking over his D. C. You got Mike McDaniel taking over his O. C, a couple of shifts on the offensive coaching staff any any deep concerns about the 40 Niners getting poached to some of their talent in the coaching coaching room? Ah, yeah. I mean, if you've got a little floor in the NFL, you wanna keep month staff. I think that that has been well established based on what's happened in Green Bay this year, and with how much credit? Uh, Michael floor got last year, when the mikes were in the room. The 40 Niners offense was coming in 2019. And obviously, that didn't happen this year, and we know for a variety of reasons, but but first off just really happy that Robert solid didn't get passed over this cycle, because deter I think that we have both spoken enough about what we think of his abilities. Scheme wise and his ability get the most out of players. But it's gonna be fun to see him in that CEO role head coaches take on aside from calling the defense Robert Solid is just getting a really solid coach. I truly believe that and so I'm going to follow that yet. I'm gonna watch their games and I'm gonna see what he does try and turn around that franchise because we both know it takes a lot of heavy lifting in that market and a lot of convincing, But his early hires have really impressed me. I got to say that is the highest compliment that you can give a coach. I'm willing to watch the Jets to see how it will go for, But I'm with you. I'm with you, 100%. We're all now Jets fans. What the hell happened to us? What? What a weird world we live in Gary Crowley. Thank you, for the time is always my friend. Thank you. Much theater, one of only Terry Crowley. "Sierra Resort and Casino studios on the sports leader. Okay? Okay. You know what I saw How you love Aman. Thanks for joining this talked a lot about Tommy Lasorda passing away at the age of 93 today just had Tony the roussanne. If you missed it hit up KNBR. Calm my group. Go talk to madam as well as we're honoring him. I know he is a was a Dodger. But it's the right thing to do. And we won't talk to Terry Crowley today for the very news group Does a great job covering the Giants will talk some baseball too, But He joins us Curtis inhuman guest signing and care. My question is, from a giant's perspective and from a Giants fan perspective. How do you think Giants fans will remember Tommy Lasorda? A sword in their side. For sure. I mean someone that they love to hate when he was on the field, and you know, he's someone who kind of transcends the rivalry. John. It says Ah, figure who Giants fans obviously hated during the midst of competition but couldn't help put respected times for just what he brought to the competition. You know, he made the Dodgers formidable. He was recognizable face Hall of Famer and someone who his legacy will be one that Giants fans will always be connected with because of this rivalry, and I think But, you know, maybe the way that Dodgers fans felt about Bruce Bo chief for the past 10 years. Maybe that's how Giants fans felt about top. Tony. Excuse me, Tommy Lasorda back when he was in his heyday. And the Giants did issue a statement on Tommy's passing about an hour ago, and it read in part, we will never forget his good humored banter and the long walks he take across the field at Candlestick Park, blowing kisses. The Giants fans he deeply respected and symbolized the great Giants Dodgers rivalry and I think that's it right there, especially Los Angeles Dodgers San Francisco Giants After Walter Alston and Going toe to Tommy. So if you reached out you mentioned both if you reached out to any prominent giant people, either Larry Bear or Are both your you know, Thinking of flan and all the rivalry they had in San Diego and against time he has a Dodger. If you reached out to ah, anybody with a giant side of the story yet, Carrie You know, Greg, The only person that I talked to within the last hour was actually just Bill Lasky and former Giants pitcher. We were catching up with a plan to catch up for a while now, and it just so happened that we were talking on the day of Tommy Lasorda's passing. And, you know, Bill, hey, expressed the utmost respect for Tommy is a competitors, you know, knew that when they were up against him, they were going to always be up against someone who's gonna bring their best. And I think that You know, he had a tremendous amount of respect for him. And I think that everyone in the Giants organization did whether they were up against Tommy. Whether they were, you know, no knew him from afar or whether they knew him personally. I mean, I I do remember stories that Bruce boat she would tell back in spring training. When Tommy Lasorda was out on the field, Camelback Ranch and signing autographs for fans. Hey, just marveled at him, and, you know, he did have AH, really strong relationship with him. And so, Yeah, I would love to pick coaches brain on unkind of would not just been, you know, a tough year for baseball. But a tough year for baseball Hall of Fame works specifically, I mean, in the last calendar year, we've lost so many And it's just been a really tough time for the sport. Terry Crowley's generous again, Tommy. The sort of passes away at the age of 93 is far from baseball is concerned. And you have this on your timeline. There was some discussion. Thoma Yuki Hogan. Oh, hey, did not sign And I think that the Giants Are going to go ahead. The of the Japanese like you're going to go ahead and give him an out every year. I think which is unprecedented over in that league, so obviously due to cove in 19 the uncertainty and obviously didn't find a contract to his liking, But the Giants were in on him. Were they not? Well, they weren't listening is one of the teams that made a final offer, But we know that they were connected to him, and we know that there was interest there and large part due to the fact that they don't have any starting pitchers. At least veterans who were under contract beyond 2021, Kevin Gosman, Johnny Cueto, Anthony de Sclafani. All these guys were set to become free agents at the end of this season, so Guys, we're going to have NASA turnover on this roster. There's no question about that. With Buster Posey, Brandon Belt Brandon Crawford, their contracts all being up, so it's no surprise that they were in on one of the top arms in the market just because they're going to need someone to hold down this rotation. You can't have that vast amount of turnover moving forward, So it did not surprise me that they were linked to him. It did not surprise me. That he ultimately ended up returning to the Yomiuri Giants. Seems like he had a great relationship from the start. Like you said the unprecedented nature of that contract to essentially say. Every off season. You can go explore a contract with a major league baseball team. That just seems like a really good set up for him. So what do you think the timeline is to start adding people you mentioned, you know, starting pitching. Do they have enough there? I think they'd like to add another armor or two. Possibly. They don't have any left handers and their starting rotation, which is interesting to me. And then around the diamond. I should go to Sally did sign it. We had him on the other day, so they filled the backup catcher spot, but What are you looking for? What's the timeline and specifically what areas of the baseball team you think Farhaan will address between now and whatever the hell they go to spring training, Carrie Well, quite frankly, Greg, I do not think they have enough starting pitching the rotation was this team's biggest weakness last season, The Bolton during the second half of the season was really good. The offense morph into a top 10 group. But you're looking at needing to kind of overhaul the starting rotation, and the Giants haven't done that all they have in Boston back. They lost Drew Smyly. It was a plus. Anthony DeSclafani comes in. But are they much better than they were in 2020? I can't say they're better at all right now. And so I think that you know, any moves have to be considered. I mean, Relatively imminent, considering that they could be going down to spring training within the next five weeks or so. And so I think you look at the market and there's not a whole lot of intriguing starting pitchers. Think James Taxing would be a good fit if someone who's coming back from injury and does have the pedigree of success, But it would not shock me at all. To see the Giants pursue trade because I think that They're in a position right now. Where? You know they won't have to give up something really good from their farm system. Tol take on a contract that's relatively reasonable. And I think that you look at maybe Joe must Grove of the Pirates. They're looking to move him. You look at the way that The Cleveland Baseball Club. Moved on from Carlos Carrasco actually training it was between the Cleveland baseball club in the spiders, so I'm still getting the hang of it on determining there. But, yeah, I just think that there are veterans to be had and the Giants have upgrades to be made, so they do need to do something in the starting rotation is the biggest weakness or whole. However, you want to phrase it. Carried to the best two teams. Now, obviously, with the Dodgers be in the World Series champs in the Padres, adding Darvish and.
