"His title, he made some money, and then a fed him to the Lions, and they put them in, you know, big bob, big bob, you know, fed him to the alliance, and he put them in with his next guy that he wanted to replace Pacquiao, that guy's name was Terrence Crawford. He put him in with him to get Terrence his first title. And Terence destroyed him. And, you know, and the rest is history, as they say, right? That's it. The rest is history. But, you know, I love doors. He's out there. I love my I love my granddaughter. She's waving to me from the door. You know what that means? That means in time. That means that it's time to end this. "To get the big names, but he didn't specify that it was Spencer bust. That's kind of what it's got to be. I mean, I don't know what turns Crawford would do. At least not at one 47 after this. Does he look for the winner of Virgil Ortiz standing onis? Does he challenge boots Ennis? Like, I don't see those as being the kind of money making fights that Spence will be. Do you foresee it being difficult to restart those talks and get past whatever it was, they needed to get past the last time. I do see it being difficult Chris and the reason primarily that I see it being difficult is because of the way Terrence Crawford went about finalizing this deal with avenging. Had he gone to Al hayman, and I understand the flip side Al hayman is the most secretive guy in he never speaks to the media. People don't know what's going on behind the scenes. People are mistrustful for whatever reason about what's going on with PBC and such, but PBC is the tractors. I mean, so I understand they're going to say, well, why does he owe that to Al hayman? I just think it would have been better business for Terrence Crawford to have told Al hayman look. I told you from the beginning I was getting in a fight this year, for whatever reason, this fence fight is not happening this year, I am going to fight before the end of December. I have this deal for the fight David avenue for an enormous amount of money based on what type of opponent he is. I'm going to move forward with this fight. Hopefully we can revisit the negotiations after I go beat him up, but he didn't do that. He, Al hayman didn't really know that he was fighting David avene until a couple hours before anyone else knew. So that's not a way to build trust within what's already from Crawford's perspective, a mistrustful partnership, so to speak. You know, I just don't, I don't know how they go, I'm not saying they can't. But it won't be easy because now Heyman is going to be very mistrustful of Crawford. So, and Crawford clearly is mistrustful of Heyman. So I don't know. I don't know what the answer is, but I don't think it's going to be just as easy as Errol Spence fights.

"That's what they care about. They don't allow the fighters to go across the street and fight some other fight that we want to defend one. They don't allow that. No, no, no, no. You're not going across the street because you might not come back. Because I might lose you. And I can't control the promotion where I can steal the I didn't mean to say steal. Where I can make the most profit by control both ends of the control promotion. So I'm not letting that happen. Does it happen once in a while? Yeah, yeah, it happened. It happened some years ago, we made weather Pacquiao, but the problem was it happened 5 years too late when the demand for it got so big it had to happen, but it was 5 years too late. They were passed their prime pack was passed as prime. So is that going to happen again here? There's a danger to it. I don't know. The one X Factor here that's going for it. And again, I'm not blaming the fighters. But I'm also not completely saying because I'm not naive, that the fighters don't have his say. Don't have a way of demanding. But at the end, demanding I get in with this guy, you work for me. The promoter. You work for me. I want this fight. So they can't do that. But it still is business. It is still business and need fighters risk everything. So they deserve to make as much cash as they can. I can not begrudge Terrence Crawford who I think is the best fighter in the business right now. I can not begrudge him. For making a pot of money against the Les opponent if someone's willing to give them that pot of money. And then in between because he made it clear for what I could see. There's always two sides to his story. I'm not blaming this one or that one and saying this one's right that's what's wrong. I'm just putting it all out there. He wanted to fight before the year and he wants to stay active. He's a real fighter like Spencer. Ye wants to make money. Yeah, he's 35 years old, whatever he is. And he's got to make it, you better make it now. You better make as much as you can now. He understands that. So if a promoter is going to hand them a pot of money to fight a lesser guy, a safer guy and he said he said if we could make this fight now, we'll do it. But it bogged down. For whatever, who I was for it was. He said, I'm not going to sit around wait. He understands how the business he don't know how long it could be. He could be another 6 months another year. Who knows? But he said, I want to say active noble one, and I'm going to make a pot of money, somebody's willing to give me to stay active with a safe opponent. Yeah, I said it. Yeah, that's right. Now, I think Spence wants to fight too. I think he does so. But the one who was locked in Spence locked in with BBC with aemon. Now, the Crawford left Arab top break. That was in a way before. It's not in a way no more because he's a free agent now. Although he's just signed with a new promoter, I guess. Whose world to give them this kind of money, you know, I don't know how long the agreement is. I don't know how many fights it is, whatever, but he signed with a new promoter who wants to make a splash, a splash of profit, right? And they're going to sold for the right price, maybe $39, right? 39, 99, whatever. Thank God it's on the 40, right? Well, Christmas coming. Thank God it's under $40. If it was over 40, that was my breaking point. So he can I could be a sarcastic as you. So he goes and he so he's making us so the new promoter comes along and going to give him this money. It's going to make a splash. He hopes he is. And but any hopes he doesn't lose his lungs. I think he might lose his lungs. Keeping a price down, maybe he sells enough. I don't know. For this fight, I don't know. I love Crawford, but he was never a guy that sold a lot on his own. He's good. He's very good. He's the best fighter in the world. I think. And his soul, his soul. But I think he needs someone to sow it with maybe. Does not too many guys that could sell it alone. Not too many. We'll find out. But at that price, it helps. It makes a little easier. But they give them a lot of money. And it's the biggest payday ever. I can't blame them for taking it. I can't blame confident for taking it. But I can see what was that promoted that was doing the camp bosses. What was the chiller? Trella, Cruella. Trello. Now trailer flash in a pan. Yeah, now Trello came along. They were all guns blazing. They were gonna make a splash, right? They did make us flesh, right to the bottom of the ocean. But anyway, they were gonna make a splash. And they promised to your female orders, money, they had to give them some guaranteed time. The big money to your female left top right for the minute went over there to make the money can't blame them. Can't blame them. I make all this big money against our care bosses who didn't realize how tough a fighter was, but he goes in there.

"This is boxing with Chris Manning. Now somebody punch him in the face. Anthony Joshua is a composed and ferocious finisher. Watch this. Hosted by SI's Chris mannix. That was my moment. Now with interviews, analysis and everything going on in the world of boxing. When you have talent, you are given another chance. Here's Chris mannix. All right. I'm gonna be in a bad. Kevin, I only this year. Yahoo sports, jamel herring, the former 130 pound champion ESPN broadcaster. There's a lot of good things I want to talk about in boxing fellows, but I've had one of those days and we're recording this on Thursday afternoon. And my optimism for arrow Spence Terrence Crawford has never been lower. My optimism for tank Davis against Ryan García has never been lower. We're just back on that endless hamster wheel of boxing where we get excited about stuff and then we're back down once again. I hate it. I hate it. I mean, actually jamelle let me put this to you first. You had you've been close with Terrence for a number of years. You used to be in his camp. What do you think of all this? This is a fight obviously, not going to happen in November. And February, even though that's kind of a penciled end date, still not etched in stone at this point. Are you surprised that we're here right now? No, I mean, no, like I said, I'm actually close to both arrow and bud and all this, but as a fight fan, I will say that it's definitely disappointing. It was definitely disappointing because this fight is one of the first. It's probably one of the most intense but the fights, but it's like one of the most never happened in vice ever when every time every time we think we're getting close, we get pushed back ten, you know, ten steps backwards. So it is frustrating, but hopefully it was no guarantee in February, but we shall see. Kevin, you know what's interesting is that, like, guaranteed money, which often holds up big fights, is not the issue here. Like from what I understand, neither one of these guys is taking a guarantee. They're just taking the big percentages of the purse split. It's something else. There's other ancillary issues that seem to be holding this thing up.

"Along the way. Keith, you and I spoke on this podcast about a month ago. When we both seem to believe at that time, that this fight would happen on November 19th. It seems highly unlikely to say the least that that's going to happen on November 19th. What is going on right now with these negotiations? Well, they're still negotiating. That's what's happening. They keep assuring people. And by they, I even mean Errol Spence, Errol Spence has tweeted himself that the fight's happening. It's next. Don't worry. You know, turns Crawford hasn't said as much quite as Errol Spence. But, you know, people internally are saying, everybody calm down. The fight is going to happen. It's taking longer than we thought. There were a lot of things at play here in terms of splits and contract details that we're not going to make everyone privy to. It is going to come together. Both guys want the fight. Certainly Terrence Crawford would appear to have less appetizing options I would say than Errol Spence does. I mean, spend has more options. Of course, nothing is appealing as Terrence Crawford, but he does have more options on the PBC side. But I think both guys really want the fight, you know, they're working out these a lot of these details that Terrence Crawford wants full transparency, which why shouldn't he get full transparency? He's taking a gamble here on a percentage. So of course he should have full transparency in terms of what all the numbers are. I think the fight will eventually come together. Now maybe we don't see it until February. And I don't love Terrence Crawford coming into this fight off of what would then be a 14 month layoff. I don't like it. But you know, he didn't fight for a year from the time he fought kell brook, which wasn't all that much of a fight until the time he taught Sean Porter and I got to say he looked pretty damn good.

"I think he said he only sees certain fighters and he mentioned Floyd Mayweather Terrence Crawford and aero Spencer, the three examples that he gave of guys who really have high punch outputs and never I'm not saying those are the only three guys in boxing who are in great condition. That's not true. But he mentioned those three guys specifically as guys who don't seem to tire and seem to throw a lot of punches toward the end of very high level fights and pressure packed situations. So he used those as examples and he seems sort of not confident that he's going to have his stamina toward the end of this fight. He actually is exact words during a conference call that we had with Anthony Joshua a couple of days ago. His exact words were, I don't know what my conditioning conditioning is going to be like. We'll have to see on Saturday. That's an odd thing for a fight. Even if that's true, while I appreciate the honesty, it's a strange thing for someone to say three days before a huge fight, one of the biggest fights of his career. So maybe there is some, there are confidence issues within Anthony Joshua. I'm not really sure. He doesn't, he doesn't behave that way. I mean, he's very free speaking, and he seems very confident and loose and everything, but some of the things he says are perplexing, and we'll have to see how all that unfolds on Saturday, but the one thing you mentioned, Chris about having a new trainer, I know Robert Garcia is kind of his co trainer or whatever, but usually fighters do not take to what the new trainer is teaching them until two or three training camps into their relationship. Generally doesn't happen in the first fight. And sometimes never because as you mentioned, Chris, fighters, when they're in trouble or when they're having difficulty in a fight, they're almost always going to revert back to what they are. For better or worse, they're going to revert back to what they actually are. Sometimes they're going to make the same mistakes over and over again. And if in a trainer is trying to reinvent them or restructure them in some way, they're going to do what they've always done. Like you said, the things he's been doing with rob mccracken since he was first since he first took up boxing, although he was a late starter in boxing, of course. So I wouldn't expect to see

"Of focus on you. You know, why is that? Why do you believe that it doesn't? I mean, do you believe that the opponent doesn't really matter and that what you do is most important? I mean, at the end of the day, it's about you better than yourself and you getting better each and every time out. So I really focus on bettering myself and being smarter, you know, and working on things that I need to work on in a gym and stuff like that. But yeah, you know, I mean, we don't watch them. Well, I don't watch them because just because I got for someone that way, they don't even fight too the same way. It could come in and do something totally different. So with me and my team, we always prepare all around the board. And we had, we had south poles in this camp, we had pressure fighters in this camp. We had boxes in this camp. We had super middle weeks in this camp. We all around, you know, we had one guy that was the one 41st speed, but we prepare all the way around, you know, you know, wherever this fight go, we always ready, and we're gonna be ready. You know, you talk about getting better, the last couple of fights you face, probably your most experienced opponents to date with Thomas delore, Sergey Lipin yes. How have you gotten better because of those experiences? Because, you know, first of all, I've been able to be in the ring with those guys and you know these different from a world champions and beat some and put up little fights against them. Those guys, so me put my skills against those guys and with great, you know, and that was experience right there for me. So, you know, you've talked about being ready right now for the arrow Spence's the Terrence Crawford's you're in line for one of the titles that Spence has right now..

"To box you to death, ask Mikey Garcia, that shit worked out. Mikey, can you get close to arrow? Piston like jab, there's so many things that Errol does and Terence coffee, he has the edges, the meanest fight I've ever seen in my life. Marvin hagner was mean. We've seen some meme motherfuckers in the ring. Terrence Crawford is up there in terms of just I'm mean. I want to hurt you. I take her to kill you if I get you hurt. I'm gonna eat my food. Wait, Terrence Crawford has? He'd be undefeated. They always say facility will only take a place with his food. But this fight going to the body is something I wonder how teams Crawford deals with because that was a persistent and brutal body assault. And it just Lucas drop his hands and then down the stretch, it was just like, he was just teeing off on him. I don't know, man. It's a tough fight, but the hail Spence is, we said it for a long time. It was beaten people up in Mayweather's gym, like right around when he turned pro and came back from the Olympics. And I would get phone calls, come to the gym. I don't spend this beating people to fuck up. Gay Floyd a shiner. The first time I heard about how much aerospace was a dog was I was with former falcons and randoms running back, Steven Jackson was shooting his documentary in Atlanta. And we were just talking. And he's like, you've been about Floyd's Jim lately, and I was like, nah. He's like, I got a call to go down on the other day and Harold's just beating people up. And this is right when arrow turns pro. So I went to the gym and I was like, oh my God, he just beach people up. I don't know, man. It's a tough fight. It has to happen. There's no reason if I can't happen now. None. Zero. Zero. PVC pay tax credit for whatever you want. It's a big fight. Just make it happen. It's undisputed. It has to happen. Quick fucking around. It's the biggest fight in boxing. No, it's not. I'm not talking monetarily. Let me make that clear. Between the ropes. Okay. It's the biggest fight you can make in boxing. Skill wise. Yes. Yes. Not monetarily. I mean, technically, if you want to put tank and Ryan García in the ring, you're probably making a lot of money. Now, if you put Joshua and fury in the ring and Wembley. Oh, you're printing. Printing, though. I mean, you put canola on triple G is going to be pretty fucking big. We'll talk about triple G now. He just beat maratha and handedly. He did. Everything he could outside of making that fight in the U.S. so people can actually watch it. Like he did everything he needed to do to build hype for his fight with Canelo Álvarez. Listen. I said this before. People are like, I haven't been terribly impressive with triple G, what triple J wasn't fight for nothing. He was just kind of fighting, direct chanco fight, he was just like, I'm here. Then they.

"Had to exercise we could go through and ultimately it's all what we expected anyway, volkanovski being the premier one 45 pounder in the world and. Proven to be a really good fighter, but birds proven to be a worthy opponent who was being overlooked. It's more about what's next. For everyone on that call. Yeah, so it could wait until Sunday. But to wrap up a boxing, spent versus ugas three titles and a welterweight division this week. To his credit, I won't watch the Sean Porter fight again. That was a lot closer. And the judges had it. I was like, ah. Charles my boy. Sean got the, I'm the champion. You got to beat the nod. You got to take it from the champ. That was razor thin. Manny was clearly he couldn't solve the puzzle on short notice that was ugas. The Cuban style is different. So if you don't really prepare for it, he ain't going to give you much to hit. And now that they got the green lights go pro, I'm so happy to see where that goes in the future. 'cause they dominate amateur like it's nobody's business. Oh my goodness. So that's going to be great. And it's going to be interesting too because you have someone like Spence who uses things that a lot of fighters, especially a welterweight like the jab, a lot of great welterweights use the jab on a boxer's period, use the jab in it for defense mechanism, much like golovkin Spence uses an offensively. He could use a while coming forward. He mixes it in with his enclosed pocket type of sequences, mixes in with his combinations. When fighters like use that jab as a weapon, much like a glove can did, just last Saturday against mireille like those are the type of things that I think people are sometimes gloss over. And since we haven't seen Spence in a while, given the fact he pulled out against Manny, I think people are going to kind of have a realization, kind of like a snap back to reality where they realize Spence still is for good reason right next to Terrence Crawford as the one everyone is expecting to be. "Let's start the end all be all of boxing. Canelo Álvarez. He's the pound for pound king. He now has his 2022 schedule pretty much locked up. At one point I thought he was going to fight four times this year. It looks like it's going to be three. Which still for a fight at his stature is amazing. But he takes zone slash matchroom deal. We talked about this a couple weeks ago. He had two deals on the table, one from PVC, which, according to Mike Carpenter reports, was up to a hundred million for two fights. One against Charlotte and may, the other one against David Benavidez in September. Instead, he takes a $100 million deal from the zone with a pending option for a third fight, which would bring it up to one 60. First fight may 7th, single to my weekend, him versus Dmitry bald, but finalized has been announced. Then triple G handles business in his next fight in a unification bout. Then beats Rio and that fight, then those two would close the trilogy in September. And something I didn't think because that would be a war, no matter how you slice it, then Canelo the third fight would be December, which looks like going up to Cruiserweight. And he's still the mandatory there. So I mean, that is a packed schedule for a 160 mil. Am I crazy for thinking if he pulls off these three fights, he'd have a better year than he had last year? Nah, I mean, first of all, I've watched people on Twitter say the dumbest shit. Canelo was a ducking jamel Charlotte. Yeah, he's ducking David Benavidez. But I don't know how many years I've been saying this, but the name of the title, that's not what we can do. Can I fight Charlotte if you ain't got no belt? Why would you not fight Benavidez? Those are two fights that sound good to a lot of people. I want to see those fights. But they have nothing for Canelo. Other than to appease y'all who want to see him fight and cash those two guys out who have nothing. That's such a weird thought process. Some of my God, my family was like triple Jesus and have a title, but I was like, we've all does. Has the title in the triple G fight will make him just as much if not more than both the Charlotte and Benavidez fight. So why wouldn't he take that deal? I don't understand what people want canola to do because Benavidez, he could have had the fight if he didn't lose it on the scale and to cocaine. Charlotte, he had to move up and wait. Right? So he's fighting a smaller guy. That's the first thing everybody will say. Can I know if I need a smaller guy? Meanwhile, the vault is a legit 175 pound champion. And there's an unfinished business with triple G and if Canada just goes out there and beats triple G, he puts that one to rest, he hits his title from Duval, and if he fights for Cruiserweight in Mexico or whatever he wants to do, it's a huge year for him. I don't understand what people want from canal anymore. They're critical about them and they say he's not that good. Yes, he is. Have you seen him? Yeah, he's that good. He's better. He's doing all else on the planet. Yeah, he's the best fighter in the world right now. And I know a lot of people say, well, what about Terrence Crawford? Look, Terrence Crawford is not making business deals like Canelo Woods. 'cause I was a whole country behind. Well, half a country. Depending on who you talk to, that's from Mexico. There's people that hate can anyone Mexico. But the fact remains that Canelo is a huge star and he's made himself that way, and he's made all the right moves to continue to be a huge star. Crawford has not done that. Crawford, we're going to talk about the Josh Taylor Jack cattle fight, but if Crawford can't find a way to land arrow spends fight, he's stuck in the mud. He'll never pass Canelo. Ever. He ain't but can I was doing all the right thing? Regardless. No, there's nothing alas canola was the fall for cliff, like literally go hiking and fall off a close lift and hurt himself. Or he has to lose a bunch of times. Terrace Crawford can't there's nothing you can do unless he layers like a PBC deal or he finds a way to be a free agent, takes a little less money for bigger fights. But I don't think that's in Terrence Crawford's mentality, but cadel has done all the right things. This man becomes a Cruiserweight champion too. You forget about it. We're not talking about the best right now. We're talking about all time great. He's trying to get there. And yeah, he's got some work to do, but damn. He's fighting three to four times? Three to four times a year. And this era is crazy, but he's doing it. I think he's already the greatest Mexican boxer ever. Would you say? Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's pretty, he's there. He's there. I mean, the only thing he can do is blow it by losing, but we just don't necessarily see him losing to anybody. A lot of them lost at the end, right? The greatest of all time for many people's Ali lost at that, yeah, I just don't see anyone and losing while daring it to be great is different. Like if you.

"Think the only fight there is Crawford. I think I don't know. But I think they do pay per view. Him Crawford, the winner gets the winner of Spence, which is going to be tough, but you got to offer step aside money spends August because the mandatory challenger stepped aside already once. Were spent to get this opportunity or excuse me for who guys to get the opportunity and then you got to pay him now again to step aside again. It's tough. Oh my God. What's the name? Stenosis? Yeah. On this card, because he stepped aside. So for any reason, someone falls out, he's going to be in the uga situation where he's like, yo, let's get it. And that's a really good fight too. I think unless PVC just hates key thurmond. You don't parent with boots, right? You don't do that. It's too soon for all that. Eventually you probably get to a booster stenosis fight or boost fights the loser of Spence and hygge. I've seen people trying to pair them like that doesn't make any sense. It's just hard. It's probably it may just be somebody. Like to keep Keith Warren and get rounds, 'cause if it's not, I don't sound for it was like, well, why does Keith have to wait? I was like, no, he doesn't have to wait at all. He can jump right into that fight, but I'm saying after looking at Keith and him talking about his conditioning, I don't know if I would want to throw Keith in there with Terrence Crawford. If I'm Keith's side, if I'm serious girl, I'm like absolutely give me that fight now because I think I beat him any day of the week. I'd like to see Keith and another fight doesn't need it, but if they make that fight, fine. I don't even know if we're Keith is ranked in the WBO. I have no clue, but I know Terrence just spent two years taking out mandatory, so he doesn't need a fight. He means a name. Yes. Yeah, his mandatory now if they didn't name a mandatory. But number one is boots. Yeah. Yeah, no. Or excuse me. Booth is number one for Spence. I thought it was worth it. Virgil Ortiz number one. For Terrence. But they haven't named him mandatory. You just ranked number one. So it's one of those things where it's like, yo, he cleared out two years worth of mandatory. Man's not going to get a mandatory again for a second. So we'll see who goes next for Thurman and you look good, though. So that's the biggest thing. Let's hit our break. Let's come back and let's give our predictions for UFC two 71 this weekend and then chop it up with Derek Brunson. Call in. Manny Pacquiao made a lot of money because Jeff hard horn is highly marketable in Australia. In Australia was willing to be like, hey, we're going to pay all this money. I'm a promoter. My job is to promote, I'm going to put you where you're the most visible. Granted Mani Paul lost that fight. It was huge for Australia. Massive fight. Why would I fight Terrence Crawford and maybe in front of 14,000 people at the MGM, what I could fill up a stadium somewhere else? This Terrence Carver don't sell. Great fighter, amazing. Easily top 5 pound for pound. Some people use number one. Some people's number three, wherever you put Terrence Crawford. But if Terrence Crawford walked through the wind right now, the way Jared. Yeah. Maybe like a few people. Stannis Crawford. But other than that, and that's not saying that racism prevented him from doing his job. Again, I reiterate, it doesn't mean that bob Aaron, like I've seen people like write these piece like bob errors such a great person. Don't do that. Especially we don't know about. You don't know, unless you guys are close, you don't know. People I share from their wives and they lay them every day. Like, you don't know anybody. You really don't so for writers to go to bath or bob and saying that he's not a racist, is dumb. The only fact that important here are is there proof, show me an email. I hope there's something here because if you loving these allegations, you gotta have something that proves that Barbara was like, I don't like black people. Or something that prevented him from succeeding. I don't understand. There we go. Does it matter? Now, this is where I ask. Does the PBC comment and this have any attachment? Because really, did he just need to win the court of public opinion? No, to why he did not sell as much as Errol Spence and give a reason in the court of public opinion. Now people say, he does dirt deserve what Spence deserves. Because he just happened to be held down. No. Because guess what? Terrence Crawford next fight ain't gonna sell. Well, I mean, it's not his job now. Not only have you now you've alienated yourself because who wants to deal with this problem? Everybody knows it's a fighter. But the money that he's asking for, it needs to be justified. Yeah. And if I'm a promoter, you ain't going backwards and money. No, and if I'm a promoter and I look at a 30, four year old Terrence Crawford, who wants the lion's share of the money, but can't draw flies. And I'm like, I don't need that. I got these other fighters. In a contracted deal, that becomes really hard. So even the court of public opinion because yes, that statement came out the day before the lawsuit but they've been playing this lawsuit for a while. You don't just file a lawsuit for the day of. They've been planning this, right? Because Budd wants to leave. The other problem with this argument is, why did you resign with top rank if you had this issue? You had an opportunity to cut your tires and move forward as a few years ago or something. Yes. And you chose to resign about aram knowing what you know? That's on you at a certain point it's on you. Everybody's experience is different. I work to BT. I hated it. I said there's so many bad things about BET. You left. Yeah, and I was out. There are other people that worked at BT that didn't have my experience. And if they go Andreas didn't experience that, they're lying because I did. You can't talk about my experience. You can talk about yours. Can't talk about mine. Doesn't mean they exist, but if I was to file a lawsuit, I have to prove this now. Yeah. I don't think Terrence is much to stand on. My bigger concern is that I think we're going to have this conversation about terrorists maybe 5 years from now of what could have been because as great as he was is, I don't know where he goes from here. Are you just talking legacy? I'm talking about his career. He still has the potential to prove a lot. If we talk about who's paying him, nope, they'll pay him to fight the young kids. Honestly, who? Top rank is it? I don't want to pay him to fight Virgil. The zone could pay him to fight first. They'll pay him the 5, 6 mil that up rank gave him. But now, but then what? Because I think in a document they laid out like how much he made. So it was like four mil 6 mil, you know, I think his last fight he made like 6, 7 mil. They'll pay him the 6 7 mil. But if you feel like you were held down and top ranked the dirty. Is that 6 7 mil low balling? Because now then you're saying you deserved.

"I personally think that if he fought arrow spends the terms Crawford would win, but we'd all love to see it. I think maybe that's the most valid claim that he's making in this complaint here that maybe they made some promises related to the Spence fight that they knew that they couldn't deliver on. But that's kind of on them too. They're not naive. I mean, Terrence Crawford is a shrewd dude, man. He's no dummy. So did he really think that because bob arum said, they're gonna make the Spence fight next that it was definitely going to happen. I mean, he knows all the obstacles that existed between him and aerospace that would have prevented that fight from happening that is still preventing that fight from happening today. And primarily, what I've tried to tell people, Kris, I know you've spoken about this as well. The thing that people need to understand is that both parents Crawford and Errol spends junior think that their fight is worth more in terms of guarantees than anyone who controls the money. So until that changes, the fight will not happen. Now you can there are certainly arguments to be made that may be Crawford wants it more than they're all expense does based on some of the things that are all expenses said. You could certainly lean that way. But the point is that the fight will not happen until the realistic with their financial demands. Now they've seen some other things like, oh well, this is kind of like the Pacquiao stop it. It's not. Floyd Mayweather in Manny Pacquiao was the perfect storm of our lifetimes and it will not be replicated. So just stop saying anyone who thinks it's going to be anything close to that. It won't. Because those guys walked away from that fight with more than $300 million combined. It's a crazy number. $300 million combined. Manny Pacquiao, who is the B side I guess you have to say, right? I mean, he walked away from it with almost a $130 million. Now, people don't want to pay. When I say people, I mean, bob arum and Al Heyman primarily, they don't think it's worth paying Terence Crawford and aerospace, a combined $25 million in guarantees. So those two things are not comparable, and again, until they are lessen their demands or have some other proof from a pay per view perspective that the fight is worth more than Al hayman and bob arm or convinced that it's worth. It's not going to happen. And it's unfortunate for boxing fans because they deserve that fight. It's the fight that people have wanted to see for the last couple of years. And we're nowhere closer to it happening than we were two or three years ago, despite Terrence Crawford, not being with top ranking. And Crawford made the decision in September of 2018 to re sign with top rank. And Errol Spence was out there on the PBC side at that point. Other fighters that were on the PBC side, the Keith thurmans of the world were out there. I mean, Derek's Crawford is a smart guy, like he had to know when he signed that deal that it wasn't going to be easy to get the fights that he was looking for. He signed that deal presumably because it was a really good deal for him because his guarantees were pretty high. And he was going to get an opportunity to make more guaranteed money there than anywhere else. So we'll see how this lawsuit plays out, but yeah, sure. Can I just say one other thing? And going over going through the lawsuit, I saw some perplexing things in this complaint. Like it was written by someone who has virtually no idea what they're talking about. Now, this is not Terence Crawford, writing this complaint. I understand that. That's why he is paying a lot of money for a legal team to do it..

"It's easy in a sport of boxing to be sort of washed over by the soap opera of boxing in the charisma of certain protagonists in the sport who are far more boxing people than we were four years ago and allow maybe the direction of travel to be shaped more and their interest in the interest of us or more importantly in the interest of our subscribers. So we've learned how to operate in boxing in a far more disciplined and ultimately what's the word? Sustainable way than we are probably operating four years ago. And that all leads down to a better business to subscribers and a bit offer of content and a better offer of ancillary content and original content and social media activity, but ultimately for me and what I measured on a better business. And that allows us to be far more medium and long-term our planning than just thinking about what's in front of our face now and scrapping to get through the next two or three months is maybe we were doing three or four years ago. So we are building a more sustainable healthier business. And I think that's reflected in quality of output and ultimately in how engaged we are with our subscription base. You mentioned covering the whole sport. And I would call that something that the zone has doubled down on because on air on broadcast, we always covered the sport. We never left people out. Whereas elsewhere, the most obvious example, glaring example was how PBC often left Terrence Crawford off of lists of top welterweights. In doing the zone boxing show and doing other things, you're going to these events that aren't necessarily affiliated with the zone. Anecdotally, I think it's great, but are you seeing tangible results off that off engagement off traffic off whatever metrics you're using to determine success? Yeah, I think, yes, we are. And we're.

"They take the gloves off and they're looking at his hands and if fill in and of course his gauze on them and they say, well, I can't see what anything in here. And Tyson could just grips his fest and says, yeah, there's flesh and bone in here. And I just put it through that guy's head. Yeah, I'm like about there you guys had to find out. We got here files. We go, and they're looking at him. This 15 year old kid, you know, who's like 210 pounds now of muscle, and he's got his first day because there's just flesh and bone that I just put through him. And now look, yeah, well done. We'll see you later. Have a good day. Sorry to bother you. Yeah. Almost like almost love because he wouldn't say that. But almost almost like the, you know, the insinuation would be and in a minute I'll show you how they feel so. There's lotion on. You know, I mean, they couldn't get out of there quick enough. But that's what people are going to be doing. You watch these race officials. We got to check this athletic green stuff, you know, and just make sure that it's on, you know, it meets all of our on the up and up. All of our proper standards. So anyway, we had us. We had a very interesting fight. Go ahead. Let's go. Well, I was going to say speaking of flesh and bone, Terence Crawford's glove had a lot of flesh and bones in him. As you would always say, one of the best finishers in the sport and my God that he finished the show very competitive fight through the first 9 rounds. But once the tide shifted, not only did the audience see it, but obviously, Sean Porter's dad saw what was coming to probably saw the inevitable. But before we even talk about that, I just want to give a shout out to Sean Porter for a hell of a career. He's been in there with everyone. Everyone knows, including arguably the best pound for pound fighter in the world Terrence Crawford that when they're in with Porter, they're in a real fight. He brings it every time. He never, ever disappoints. He's been a gentleman of the sport. He's an excellent commentator. Congratulations. It's just Sean Porter. What do you think teddy on the retirement announcement? Something's going on between him and his father. Yeah, definitely. I mean, that's the jazz gonna direct question. I'm giving you a direct succinct answer. I don't know if it was would have been planned. It does things on the plan. A lot of times, you know, just spontaneous, sometimes they all plan. But there's an X Factor that says father, we don't know what it is, that speculation, of course to talk about it on our part. But you saw it, it wasn't what you would expect after the fight where, you know, in the middle of the interview, the pulse 5 interview the father says, you know, he basically said and implied even if he didn't directly say that he didn't listen. He said that sometimes fighters get basically too big for their bridges. They don't listen. And this is what happens when you don't listen. And so he's applying that he wasn't prepared, that he did something wrong. He didn't listen to the father. It was a difficult thing to hear. I'll be honest with you. You know, we say things that other people they live alone because they want to keep a relationship, whatever. But we don't, we feel that with a cat scan of podcasts. You know, the MMR MRI of podcasts, where we're going to examine everything. For you, for the fans. You know, that's becoming a year. We're going to make sure you hear what you need to hear. And we cover what we need to cover. Completely. So, I don't know. For me, as a trainer as a father, you know, I think a lot of people out there, grandfather, it was difficult because it is a dangerous sport. We all know that. Difficult spot like ever, and to go through all that and I know it's his father. He's got obviously he has the right to say certain things that other people don't. And he's done a good job. But when he says that, it makes you like you couldn't say that in a locker room privately. It just makes you wonder what's going on. What's going on in that relationship, what really happened in camp, you know, what's behind the curtain, so to speak. And then after you hear that, minutes later you hear, oh, short portage was retired. You know, what? Ten minutes later. So the official post fight press conference. So I don't know. Speculation would be that maybe he retired because the punishment that it's a, you know, it's a, it's such a treacherous in some ways in business and in a ring business. It's such an obviously difficult business. Maybe retired because obviously what I've said over the years, and sometimes there's a commentator over there that I guess wants to make sure you heard what I've said over the years and he repeats it. But I've always said that one fight is going to ring. They come out of the ring with less of themselves. Than they had when they walked to the ring. And maybe it's just that Sean understood on some level that he got to get out before there's even less and less of himself to have for the rest of his life. I would say too, I would add teddy that Shawn does have a very good broadcasting career. I think if I'm not wrong, did he do some of the Olympics this year? He does he's on is it showtime or PBC? He does one of the showtime PVC, I don't know, but he does a great job when he is commentating. I never keep up with which network has who, but he's so maybe in his mind he has got a career outside of boxing and like you said, he he's taken a lot of punishment over the years, relatively speaking, and you know, maybe he realized I'm in there with the best if I can't be the best and I can't beat this guy. Maybe that's the end of the day. And but then to do our job here and stretch it as far as we can stretch this thing and examine this thing as far as we can examine a possibilities of this thing, again, you know, it's all speculation. Yeah, maybe like I said, he realizes that, you know, you are less when you get out of that ring, and he doesn't want to lose any more and not to mention in that area of himself and it's time to go to the broadcast his time to as they say, stop and smell the flowers and enjoy enjoy or the monies maiden is made good money. Real good money because I'll have it. Enjoy them because of himself. Enjoy that and have the ability to enjoy it while you can still enjoy it. Or maybe maybe it was maybe something connected with the dad where maybe who knows? Maybe the dad said, you know what?.

"He's been down before arrow spends put him down. And I'm not going down. Let me say this. Let me see. With Aerosmith, than he was with absolutely. Let me say Kenny Porter made, I think the biggest mistake you could possibly make for his son's career. Not to say that Sean Porter would have stopped Terence Crawford or to beaten Terrence Crawford, but he was in the fight. He was active in that fight. So for Kenny Porter to stop that fight in that moment, was insane to me. How do you stop a fight where your son is in the mix to win the welterweight championship of the world and win the biggest fight of his career? How do you stop a fight like that? Because you're too emotionally attached. That's it. That's all I can tell you. Whenever you're too emotionally attached to them, but whenever that's your son, you know, I have a son, man. If I saw my son, get dropped like that. It will break me to pieces. Yeah, but you're so younger, you're so my son doesn't box. He's opposing box. Okay. He's not a poet. Your son is not a poet. He's going to be a poet. But he's not a pugilist. But look, here's the thing. If I ever see my son, get dropped like that. Oh my God. It will tear up the same thing. No his son's been hit but he's dropped before. He was dropped by Errol Spence. He was in a dogfight with kell brook. He was in a street fight with Keith Thurman. What are we talking about here? He was in the mix to win the biggest fight of his career. And the guy stops the fight. That is insane. How do you stop a fight like that in the tenth round where your son is not hurt? You saw that Sergio. You tell me, was Sean Porter hurt in that moment. Bob torrens, I love. I love the passion coming out of Christmas tonight. He had her last night too, but where is it in his writing, but anyway. You are absolutely right. You are. You're right. You're right. I just like breaking your balls, but you're right. Correct. This is a reason I like blood attacks. Whenever you're dealing with a blood sport, you don't want to have a blood attachment in your corner. The tool so you think it's a core thing..

Behind the Bets

"First thing to note, we're gonna talk about the other matching game in a second. Bad weather expected in both these games tonight. For buffalo and northern Illinois, you've got rain in the forecast, wins in the neighborhood of about 18 mile an hour. Buffalo at four and 6, they need to win out in order to go bowling. So if you're going to get great efforts, it's going to be at this time of the season. What the bulls do well and there's not a lot of it, but they do run the ball well. They're 30th in the country in rushing at about 200 yards per game. That's where northern Illinois is really weak. There are a 119th out of a 130 teams in run defense. So if the bulls are able to run the ball in the weather against this NI defense, which run defense isn't just their problem. They got problems everywhere at the defense side. They should be able to get the job done tonight. So I'm hoping you get your 31 and a half gets a 32, 34 32 sounds like a good final. We'll take that buffalo win 34 32 and for everyone betting the over good luck. We got you backed up there as well. For sure, it's a midweek matching game. Of course, we're going to be on the over. What do you got on the other play? Other games. So that would be an under at 59 and a half ball state in central Michigan. Again, this comes down to weather. This weather should be worse in this matchup. The Rain's gonna start around three p.m. locally. It's supposed to continue straight through the night, wins around 15 mile an hour. Now central Michigan has made its bones with the big play on offense. They're averaging 34 points per game in Mac play. And they got a ton of explosion. You've got a ball state defense that hasn't been great this year, but one thing they do above average is limit explosive plates. They'll get scored on, you'll be able to drive on them, but they don't give up the big play as much as other teams in the country, obviously, I think they're actually somewhere around top 30 in that category, which could be huge tonight when you factor in the weather. Now on the ball state offensive side, they put up some points. Quarterback drew plit has been around forever. It's like Chris Rick's at Florida state. You can't get rid of the guy. But he's really dropped off this season. His completion percentage has dropped from 65% last year to 61% this year, yards per attempt from 8.7 to 6.4. I mean, it's not like he's terrible because he's a good quarterback. But the numbers have fallen off and I don't know if he's gonna be able to get it done tonight against central Michigan with the weather concerns. So I play under 59 and a half ball state central Michigan knowing full well that 100% of the people listening to this are not interested in playing the under in any action games. Well, we had some under action hit last night. So that, you know, maybe people are more inclined on that front. I'm out of place. I'm out of place. You got anything else? Nothing wrong with that. I've been doing some research on the Crawford Porter fight for this weekend and I know we'll talk about it Sunday. I will say as of right now, even though Sean Porter has never been knocked out, Terrence Crawford's plus one 60 to win the fight by KO TKO or DQ. And something you talk about in some of these UFC fights, maybe your own mechanical parlay, tenth round, stoppage, 18 to one, 11th around 18 to one, 12 round, 22 to one. You got Sean porters at very aggressive fighters, very aggressive. And he's going to want to get in there and he's willing to take shots in order to land some. Crawford is the best he's ever faced. You leave yourself too open against this guy. He might put you down. And since he claims that everybody everywhere is ducking of, he might need to make a statement with a knockout tonight. First guy to ever do it. Errol Spence didn't do it, and that's the guy everyone wants to see Crawford face. So maybe he steps up big here. Plus one 60, that's something I'm looking at because just to play Crawford to win his -700, which is a little too pricey for me. I like it. I like it. It's a smart way and another tool in the tool belt, just different approaches you can do, kind of create your own prop, create your own parlay, if you will, like you said overnight and half or whatever you want to call it with the side. All right, that's going to do it for us. We'll see you later today, 6 eastern on ESPN2. Remember, no Friday shows the rest of November. We're dark all of next week to be honest, we will have a show Sunday morning. So only a couple more daily wagers left in this month..
