"And Fitzsimmons and Michael Cisco right to cam Newton when you saw the signing I was a bit surprised at the timing and I want your bills actually ever going to happen what did you what did you think right when you saw this right when I saw it I had to check Adam Schefter is Twitter to make sure that it wasn't like a fake account right like I probably like a lot of people wait let me just read that over a couple times to make sure it's got the blue check mark next to it you know but then you sort of worked backwards and you say okay how did this come together and really the key thing to me was that bill Belichick was on the record in may saying you know the door is always open to add someone at quarterback but the patriots were happy with who they had at that time and something had to change from then to now and what was that really to me is I view it was cam Newton's willingness to play on this type of modest contract because the patriots didn't have much to offer their very tight to the salary cap my god I am trying to imagine cam Newton the post game press conference walking by Bella check in a velvet fur coat as part of his postgame attire just trying to figure out how this pairing is going to work to people just seem like they are opposites of one another how will this work it it fell victim maybe the hat you know when I was at you know no sooner does come with some cooler winter gear for those Boston with that I love it and and so so this is interesting because I would say you know there's times in the past where we've asked the same question about other players and and and so how's this going to work with Randy moss coming that the patriots in two thousand seven like to see in a fit here how's it gonna work with the the businessman Terrell Reavis going up against the patriot way into this culture in two thousand fourteen hi Chad Ocho Cinco you know that one actually didn't work out you know when he came to the patriots assert your outgoing guy you know hello Corey Dillon back in two thousand for just just not all the same type of situations but players that we asked the question you know like how to kind of sit there I would put this in in the conversation and I would say that in the end bill Belichick just **** players like don't know ask you not to be yourself and and show your personal side and and flair but put the team first check your ego at the door compete in be a good teammate and and if cam Newton can check off this box I think the other stuff what what will fall into place you know Mike to to Myron's point there I said this earlier and and that's the one that's one concern is compatibility the other one and that's not a very big one the biggest one for me it's just health yeah I mean he's been out the last year and a half with a Lisfranc and the shoulders so how much of a team's not being able to have their doctors put their hands on cam Newton lead to it taking it almost to July for him to finally sign seems like a huge factor to me and and also the nature of the position you know there's there's only so many top jobs but to me the health is a huge factor in Ripley part of what makes this so compelling you know it's really a to be determined type of situation its if cam Newton is healthy if he's a culture fit you know in a cut in a car driving environment that is different from what he's been accustomed to the office of system I do believe that they'll find a way to sort of tailor it to accentuate his strengths if he shows he's capable of of being the guy that part I would put maybe a little further down the list but to me these are just what makes the situation so compelling what connection is the timing of this have to do the fact that we also coincidentally found out that the pages of lost a third round pick for another filming incident like is there any connection between the two that now when I talk about that because of the Camden son well the way it happened I was sort of the end result right and and but the hit and and I can see how someone look at that and say well what's going on here like the way it sort of was double barreled news on the patriots on Sunday night but I I do have to say I view it as sort of two trains that are on different tracks that sort of incidently arrived at the station at the same time and and all explain really quickly I think they're two different things because this filming penalty you know this happened back in December and we're just getting the ruling in late June and that's really based on the leaks time line like that the only reason that's coming out when it did was because the leak the leak had concluded its you know investigation and penalty you know almost seven months after this whole thing happened I can tell you my room like this is something being around the team they were hoping it was going to be wrapped up whatever the penalty was like before their playoff game in January so to me this is as much about that sort of a long NFL timeline in in we should say there's been a lot going on in the world to deal with so I can understand why maybe this wasn't a top priority but I think that NFL aspect of it the timeline of it just sort of coincidently matched up with a move that came together fairly quickly for the patriots here in the last week or so my god how many quotes of the great leroy Jethro Gibbs there is no such thing as a coincidence I'm going patriots PR firm the MVPs right of all pro sports when we got that that's stories popping today all right somebody show up there and I'll go ahead pop that Kim stores holding onto all right let's get that out there boy here we go now let's go right you're really into the conspiracy theories thank you had them lined up back in may but they were whole for a couple months no no maybe just twenty four hours or so Mike Reiss ESPN NFL nation here with us already Fitzsimmons on ESPN radio they hits that cameras taken since he's come in no quarterback has even come close to taking as many hits as the S. either running the ball design runs you know quarterback hits sacks durability wise you know he's only thirty one but man that body has taken a beating like a running back how much of a concern on that health part not the foot not the shoulder yeah but just the durability how much is left at when you talk to people if they were the patriots is that a concern or maybe not at all well no I I think I think health is a concern I mean I bill Belichick always makes the point that you know the most important thing is the healthier players because if you don't have that you can't really feel that team and then you think about what Tom Brady would always say like sometimes you have to learn to to sort of play for the next play you know like you know when the the.

"And in the midst of all the baseball NBA drama we've had the past couple of days as far as well well shut up he still wants to be traded the jets bass player one of the best safeties in the National Football League has been unhappy that the jets wanted to sign him to a long term deal he wants out he asked for a trade last week he says teams like the cowboys and the eagles in the forty Niners at the top of his list well early this weekend a fan recognizable items get needed was Carmen well the two of them had the theme swing back and forth that since went viral on social media I was so wrong are you coming to Dallas yeah you could try it okay Jamal Adams the wants to get traded all right here's the thing Mike you know how I feel about him all absolute ease on my TV is the best player on my team sure he doesn't he doesn't play a position that you can pay seventeen million dollars a year to okay a box safety kicking seventeen million you can't give a middle linebacker seventeen million adjusted that for CJ Moseley as good as he is he's never going to be happy the guy just wants to get paid right and when you when you have that as your sole goal of getting paid and you don't care where it comes from because he would sign with the jets tomorrow if the game seventeen million dollars a year doesn't matter he just wants to get paid I'll tell you how things are going to go for Jamal Adams and how his story is gonna be ready here's a let's can't go because I've seen Adams eventually is going to get paid likely he will force a trade from the jets try to hold out try to figure something out the jets will know that all right we have to move on from him he's going to be shocked that he's not traded to the Dallas Cowboys and he's traded to the Jaguars your team off the beaten path it's not one of the seven he wants to go to all state band he added the box come on so that's going to surprise him with the white white I don't want to get traded I told you the seventeens right I didn't say Jacksonville I didn't say Arizona lately I didn't see the lions well well well well well but he'll get traded and you know what's going to happen suddenly he will get paid because he's gonna get traded to get paid and when he gets paid his production will plummet just like Terrell Reavis just like every other player who was so overly about the money everybody wants to get paid and I get that but it's easy to see when someone is that much about getting paid and they get paid they don't they don't do as much they don't work out as hard they don't they they don't follow the same things that made them a star because they just got paid and he won't be the same impact player you will hear stories about it's a new scheme it's a different fate he doesn't have the same responsibilities he had with the jets I don't make excuses why this guy we gave seventeen million dollars a year to where they're still throwing for three hundred fifty yards a game on this and why Jamal Adams helping us so that's how it's going to end for Jamal Adams somewhere else where someone's gonna give money and go why do we give this guy all kinds of money that's how it's going to go for him see I think a lot of work comes down to Jamal Adams look at the list that he put out it's all winners right so I think it's the I'm okay if I'm not getting paid big money for the moment as long as it's an environment where there's a chance and I think he's it's the indictment of Adam gase and what they've built their maybe get up against your guy Sam Darnold even though I I I think third there's good things and even if it is a no name group of offense of linemen ahead of him as well as a bunch of slot guys running around I think that'll be fine fun to watch as Robby Anderson left and decided he wanted to go to Carolina got himself a big paycheck I I think for for Jamal Adams it's it's the unfortunate circumstance of the the way the draft works man you don't get to go to the team you want and they control in control your contract they control your ability to go and get paid the big money without causing a ruckus and battling through in if the jets don't want to pay him your stock if they don't want to change your stock what you gonna do sit out for three years so I mean you know it and to where they finally just that you probably can't play anymore yeah that that's the next fight in the CBA you wanna go down that road have added I'll bang the drums right there with you to try to get yourself paid but in the interim trying to play this all out in public just a bad look yeah he doesn't have he's got he's got to learn how football works and he doesn't he thinks I can just go on social media be upset and force the trade he's got to get more the NFL on Twitter how.

"Guide its goal one and so our coverage of the cowboys in Jamal Adams is go on the the idea that are the cowboys will have to somehow make up with the jets I buy that I think the jets are upset at the at the cowboys bien leaky last October I still contend that the jets were and are just as leaky all the stuff I'm hearing you know it's like I'm I'm not gonna say what percentage of it comes from where but like it's not like it all comes from not the jets some of the some of the information comes from the jets yeah I mean they're not some some level of like premium organization in the NFL their budget they're really a laughing stock was two years old now and it should be coming from the player and this is a continuation of the laughing stock status because that Jim all items and I know that it is you know maybe people didn't pay us in full attention to him used in the AFC and whatever he has been here have been a good soldier he's been a great soldier there he he barely up until this spring he's barely said a peak he is the first guy in the building he's the last guy out he's the best guy in the weight room is best kind of gone wrong with the best guy in the locker room you think team captain age twenty three twenty three okay there there's there's he is a squeaky clean as it gets but now his squeaky wheel because he's decided again I see people on Twitter trying to give him advice like this is no way to get a trade to the cowboys son really get your bill advise a guy with a twenty three year old team captain of the New York Jets who in his career is going to make I don't know figured out a hundred million dollars you're going to give him advice he he's trying to say back to you I already tried the other way bro RT tried being a good soldier and they asked me if I would if I was going to be a good soldier in the spring I thank god that story no I don't think so they either call him enter college region in one way or the other is a Wednesday and I don't know which executive it was in the U. S. promised me an extension you know let's let's at least you said you put some on the table in January and the response was we we want to be a chat forever get for life but we wanted to see this spring that you're all in we at the end of the inside of his head in his heart he exploded yeah I would too I've been here three years I'm twenty four on the team captain I'm your best player Carl banks told the other day he's the best player the jets have ever had on the so arguably I'm the best player you've ever had I'm the first guy in the building in the last guy out I'm friends with everybody on this team I've made one two pro bowls in three seasons and I'm all pro twenty four and you want to see if I'll do a little more what an insult yeah and and that's why the jets are where they are with him right now I think there's one more wrinkle and I need to explore that side I don't need to throw this out without doing the proper research but I've opened framing it okay I don't think the jets even though they're owned by the Johnson family of Johnson and Johnson baby powder frame I don't think there are I don't think the jets are cash flow team I don't think they like writing big checks I don't think the Johnsons like it I think the Johnsons are the raiders for a long time the bangles for a long time it's not that they don't have money it's that they they just don't they don't have it laying around in their football budget to throw around and I wonder if we looked at at Jeff's history recent history if we would see a pattern they they don't pay their players especially when it comes to big signing bonuses and that's a problem here too and you've all Adam Adams now is saying out loud what he hopes he never had to say but it's not saying it didn't work and I was saying it what's your point I had previously to Jamal Adams their next best player defensively is probably Terrell Reavis and that also alternately ended up in reverse leaving New York and I got traded to Tampa Bay yeah I mean I guess my one push back would be like the sign CJ Moseley the linebacker talk a record setting deal like the two offseasons ago maybe in a levy on bell they threw a bunch of money at but they're definitely a little bit pick and choose your own house keeping their own though I think that's an interesting point yeah they've had the lead player there there seems like there has been some issues that I do want to ask you about the report of Jamal Adams maybe wanting twenty million a year Eric and I talked about that Friday night and the highest paid safety right now is fourteen point six million it's Eddie Jackson it doesn't seem like that's a realistic report fish my row why it's not you know I didn't seem realistic is not income for never had he never said that yeah that's false I'm sorry S. P. N. you're wrong again someone needs to call his people when asked them like I did are you are a twenty million dollars a year no we talk about and so the quote I have in my story there's that bad number twenty million dollars a year never came out of Jamal Adams mouse now we can have a a really interesting argument about how much is the safety ever worse there's only five defensive players in the NFL right now making twenty million it but now is is he one of the five best defensive players or do you just not pay a safety that way personally I think I think somebody some smart teams gonna quit looking out of my state I got dumped out of safety yeah he's a safety cornerback linebacker defensive end middle library he's he's everything you want to be you got it and I cannot run I know you guys are football guys you know this and are you seeing a play his numbers as a defensive back look like a linebacker and a defensive ends numbers yeah he he gets he gets more quarterback hits than any defensive back you can end up with more quarterback hits then a defensive back in football history he probably gonna end up with more sacks than a defensive back in football history more on on on on so it's it's a shame that somebody would put him in in some crazy box like that just give me good football players but did did you all items camp feels like I'm I wonder where that twenty million dollar made up number came from wonder why the team well you would think I mean logic would suggest that it's probably the worst somebody uses propaganda that would be the jets trying to make him look bad right if you give the jets from to make them look bad or or Bristol just is bad but that that number's false and nobody had nobody asked him about it they just wrote it and now you've got that story and that stigma I catch a lookout greedy years you haven't just want to be the highest rate safety which he deserves to be but that B. fourteen point seven or fifteen he wants to be paid like he's Khalil Mack or Aaron Donald well that that that that conversation is never happened never happened we appreciate a male catch up with you on Wednesday will hunt they fish action thanks for the support on Twitter eight seven seven eight eight one one oh five three to join the.

"You are doing scissor get over it did you ever have the right player as it involves your markets no I just I was curious as I was looking at that how about you mark is that I figure if you're thinking it's a quake I guess one of my questions could I add to that I thought of today and thought of on your own I had to that I thought of and I I have a I have a lot of questions and I just got through aspen broader learning is Russell I just was curious as I was looking at their seven drive because there were so many good players and you and I have add nauseam talked about a job I was there I was at it again so I knew they were looking for a quarterback because they they took Alex Smith that but it doesn't mean that you don't obviously have notes or you know you don't scout a guy so I was just curious if you could remember what he had on him because I thought it was an address hello hi I remember mark I went there now we did a show on children black production organ for the raiders call forty eight hours to number one he and I went to New York went to Radio City musicologist around tomorrow he actually thought I was one of the rare coaches he did not let that idea I think all the years I was there is still a big you know what I did he I mean it was over and and Scott McLuhan nailed it exactly right al Davis would see a play or do something it could be it was usually more than one time but if you saw a guy flash he thought wow look at that why can't my coaches get him to do that every time well some positions they don't do it every time Darrell Russell didn't do it every time I did it once in awhile an electoral jamarcus she a lot of off field issues but it was all over after America's top plate Brady Quinn in the was the Sugar Bowl that year well yeah LSU beat Notre Dame I was over it was over he gets all the artistry the problem was this guy was talking to coach the comes in he hired lane Kiffin and lane Kiffin did not want jamarcus Russell he did not show there was a a impasse immediately there but that's March thirty wrote a big story today in the bay area news group and in a market analyst a hall of fame broadcasters or writers go to the Caribbean at right back in and re candles I was thirteen years ago today was on this day in history is that why yeah that is he went back in to read write a little story where mark went to where Mr Marcus from somewhere in Alabama mercy from anyway went back to zero Alabama it says or not that's as good she was addicted to codeine now I kind of put items low hanging fruit as I do about that so I was sitting in jail that was all of your accounts like you have no energy gets what would you tell her he wrote you want to read about it was it was marked in writing today and here's mobile Alabama when he goes out on our porch with generic as you know I thought you Marcus was gonna be a problem well at the draft here's entire family in the front row for one thing and are they and how many people you gotta pay real and then the second thing they all weighed at least three hundred who and maybe you know he has a match there were probably three fifty it on like Diddy forty guys details like your lord you got a big like a dark is like pizza in any event and yeah no that's it I mean that draft we're taught it's thirteen years ago today but your markets want one then Calvin Johnson Joe Thomas Adrian Peterson Terrell Reavis was never L. Reavis Patrick Willis well Joe I'm just mostly on that track beast mode Marshawn Lynch Reavis went fourteen I mean that's how many how how many levels is as and whether we're gonna draft I mean that's one two three four five maybe side and by the bears Greg Olsen what now travels the raiders to exactly either in the second round yeah that was that was not a member I remember going to a a function I think most of the Thursday before the draft and they were all there it was jamarcus Calvin Johnson definitely Adrian Peterson and I are seeing Calvin Johnson it's like you're a wide receiver thank god your defense of that wide receiver this page but it was she was an innocent matter it matters L. loved his arm in the way and they just you know what Jay's defense bill savage number three then the Browns GM he called it all the time and he he knew jamarcus when he was younger you know whether he went to one of his cancer signage markers as a kid and he offered to trade well you know every day now he's not gonna trade out and jamarcus Russell that is like the classic al Davis quarterback but let's just say it didn't work out well grayscale the heat all the intangibles he talked about with Gordon Willis and Staley Jr markets don't have any of that quite the opposite well and that's the amazing thing is like you said about allergy saga I do it with them a lot of professional athletes can do it but they can't do it with consistency and that's the whole point of how good a guy as you can see about flash lots of these guys they have the talent flash it's just the consistency is everything that's what it is yeah he's an expression he can do it why can't my coach is allowed to do it right in the alleyway all flash once in awhile he had all of last year yeah all right we'll get to ask Pablo gonna budget questions again you can hashtag ask Bob on Twitter you can is to look at the text line up as well four five eight we can be our go old school with phones as well you know we can be I will do with those before we got Chris Mullin at twelve thirty if we don't get to all of them sure we can leave it up to one o'clock we got the four player will do all that stuff coming up next it's a problem one on one for five and six eighty the sports in M..

"Top one hundred and I shop with it started back in December Willie Mays ended up in one bonds at three we'll get into that with him and more at eleven thirty but we'll finish up ask Bob anything anything at all through the text line calls into war ask Papa one hash tag on the asphalt but as this person says they they know you love Jerry Judy do you have a second love in the draft somebody that you that you really like as well maybe to Brazil coding Jeff could oak and corner will have finished yeah he should I write you know somebody wrote the other day if you pulled all the GM in the league forty percent would pick CJ Henderson Alex CJ Henderson I think at Florida's just tackles he is tough and a higher status puts on a great corners in the draft I think he could Judy and Joe burrow are the three best players in the draft I don't get chase young to be honest with us going to watch a more I guess I was watching chores in the order began to fall his production fell off I think technique wise he's not he's not a Bosa but could is that good you know it can make an argument about trading up to get him I don't think they'll do that I the interesting thing is with him if your Detroit ensure you you like him the best of coda I mean you could probably trade back if the team trading up is gonna take a quarterback then you could trade back to da five or six dolphins or Chargers and probably get him there so I think Bob Quinn when is looking to replace Darius slay he would do that there are other good corners in this draft but he's clearly I think the best easiest tackles so well he's tough like Jaylen Ramsey Moses feet like Terrell Reavis little bit of Stephon Gilmore any of the high end people and I heard him actually interview this morning on ESPN and he is really smart a lot of really smart players in this draft and he certainly is one challenge well in you know you just gotta capitalize what you said there it just depends on where T. bid to people are the forty Niners don't need a ton of draft picks they need space I think specialized positions stick to kind of put them over the top where is a team like Detroit when you need a lot of things are the dolphins have a lot of picks trading down and getting more picks in the in in raising the level of the overall talent on your roster is a big thing versus teams were already there who don't need seven eight ten they don't have those kind of positions open that's why when you talk about potentially trading up for Judy and in using future picks to do it that's kind of a final peace type of guy even though I think they need a receiver I think they need to obviously Buckner leaving they may need interior defensive linemen they may need a corner because Sherman in Wetherspoons deals are up after this year but it with the Detroit if I'm at three and there's multiple ways and their team coming up for a quarterback who probably will overpay in that scenario I'm absolutely moving back especially if you could move back and still get the player that you would take that spot anyway and there may be a scenario where the forty Niners move back later in the draft another their play their teams that are stacked up right behind him that Denver being one I mean obviously John Elway is a close confidant account of John Lynch and Adam Peters and all of them and they they they get along great and there's for some reports the Denver wants to trade up so the forty Niners could drop back a couple of spots a you know the people that they would have taken you know at thirteen or just now all gone and you're looking at we get this guy at fifteen we could trade back with them so I think it works both ways but that that's the point about Judy is we're trying to ascertain what they're gonna do Colin John but they were they were in the build mode before they still are you still you need to be young and I got to get younger the offense of line there's no doubt but when I I look at what Nick Bosa did for this team on defense and overall what he meant to the chain that's the kind of impact I see Jerry Judy making his that kind of a guy now you know is a tough is you get a block in the run game no he's not and I know Kyle you know coverage that so he's not a perfect player in that regard as long as he tries hard and you know you can use his body moving to do it and I mean I'm sure you know Dante what it doesn't like him because he's not tough enough well you know that's the Amari Cooper element is a tough enough I think he gets off Pressman so well and we tell me you wouldn't add Amari Cooper this line this roster right now you wouldn't do it he'd be out of your mind and I think Judy is a better route runner that hand but if you don't like Canada say the forty Niners just don't like him you know say Christmas is right and they like rugs better what drugs is tough Roger the chopper guy he could be a premier garner in this league immediately and run back kicks so if you have any issue with jury duty it's just that he may not be tough enough but I I think if I think the rest of it is so overwhelmingly strong that overcomes his lack of toughness yeah not that this would ever happen but I remember when when we were in London at one time or screw around because they put us in the studio and I have this the soccer stadium and have the sound of the soccer stadiums you could actually call a game from somewhere the of the that with the Olympics I was gonna things with somebody's asking it what would we like to call a game from home I would imagine that that would be hard to generate the energy if you are from our own homes yeah like what if you're calling well that would like to feed him from here yeah I had like the fake noise from a game or something I mean are are you know I think they got to be careful about pumping in artificial sounds I just think that makes artificial I think we want to we want I I I I would think this would be an opportunity if we play games out fans to really be able to hear things and you know what they they do have the boom mikes on the sideline and they a parabolic mikes yeah but I mean now with no fans at all you're gonna be able to hear you and your mate you may not want to enter stars at signs and all that but would you like to hear the middle linebacker checking out of a defense to do another based on what the quarterback is doing I mean we could hear quarterbacks now HM HM a wider quarterbacks and all the offense of stuff you don't hear any defensive stop so I mean as far as calling the game of football would be probably the easiest of all of them to call baseball would be hard unless you got multiple monitors and you can see things it would be difficult to see you know with the way they're playing with the chefs I mean you're gonna have to I have a lot of different camera angles at your disposal secret could do it from your own home you could do it from a studio all the way Mike is planning on doing the split cash this year you could do that but I hope I hope they don't artificially pumping crowd when there's no crowd there we don't need that I think this would be an opportunity to have the sounds of the game like they do with the mic'd up segments now what coaches push back on that sure they will the same way pop turns off his bike on the sideline he doesn't like that we don't want you hearing things about us but there's a different situation we got to promote the game so I would love to hear the players just all the different checks they call on defense one you know Fred Warner gets out of something in a check to a different one based on what the quarterbacks during the formation so I I'd rather have it just be organic let's just let's just hear the game more we got a few more made most of the men throughout the a show we're gonna get to injure Bagley coming up next we have a few things to talk to him about again there's a great piece in the athletic talking about the top one hundred players of all time and again it's one man's list but I thought it was very well done we'll get into that and there's obviously been some things thrown around to win baseball and can't will return and.

J. Y. J. J. Y. a unanimous selection no love for to markets where although he probably ended up would have been considered other linebacking group yeah but you know as Moses damages in the preceding decade though it was it but he had some quality years there in the first half of this decade any did get that super bowl in twenty fifteen it was a big part of that member Broncos Super Bowl know your exact right von Miller's in and he's not in them is something to be debated about that and and by the way make another note here Jeff brought this up they got they got linebackers the address is listed as linebackers you notice that the spot they play outside linebacker technically but you've got the von Miller and Khalil Mack of the world and Chandler Jones are listed as linebackers along with Bobby Wagner Patrick Willis and loop key glee as you're all decade linebackers Aaron Donald Fletcher **** Gino Atkins and Donna can sue make your defensive tackles and your corners are Patrick Peterson Terrell Reavis and Richard Sherman your safeties Eric berry or Earl Thomas Eric Weddle the other two TV spots they get love Tyra Matthew and Chris Harris junior the coaches bill Belichick and Pete Carroll Andy Reid possibly get a snap here you know I'm glad he finally won a Super Bowl but you can't knock those two choices I mean here's the deal is a deal Pete Carroll went to two super bowls this decade he should have won both of them but he least went to two of them back to back how many teams go to back to back soon both you can take him out and it's embellished belt check their double digit win team every single year usually about yeah even when they don't have the talent outside of Russell no down and he he's been a fantastic coach in Seattle but there is you're all decade team to cowboys make the list in the last cowboys not get that I have for you is that there are some rumors out there in anticipation for the rams opening up their new stadium that it could be the cowboys selected to open the season whereas I bet it is that is five stadiums Jerry is the one that got the stadium built he is the one the behind the scenes got the rails to go back to LA he's the one to grease the wheels for them to be in LA for the state of the bill in the us Vegas I would be shocked if the cowboys that opened up in LA in some kind of way wind up in Vegas at some point time pretty soon the question remains if indeed that stadium will be ready given the corona virus they're they're having some issues in terms of not being certain if that stadium will be ready to go but when that the schedule does get released look at week one wouldn't surprise us if possible national TV game whether it's Monday night Sunday night or even last year the NFL changed it up mmhm because of the hundredth anniversary they put Packers bears on Thursday night maybe they want to keep it it would be cowboys rams for the Thursday night opener and then Sunday night you have the chiefs go ahead unveiled their banner so interesting things that could happen whenever we get the NFL schedule release but possible the G. kalp always at rams they open up so five stadium the coming up next to catch up with Mike Fisher our cowboys insider is a late night fish report right.

"Been sending to Ronnie's Twitter handle at Robbie underscore Harrison brownies gonna answer Maradi first time we're doing this in boy what almost six years doing the show together our first annual safety blades wards we give away an M. V. P. both sides of the football for player of the year rookie of the year the comeback player of the year coach of the year and we give away an award for the assisting coach of the year Roddy let's start off with the MVP is there really a debate in terms of who deserves to be M. V. P. for this NFL season well for me it's it's free was pretty easy nothing for everyone else to god as just been absolutely tremendous this year who guided everyone said a you can't throw at question marks is the justice scrambling quarterback Lamar Jackson has been absolutely fantastic what I love about a most is just his his humility to leadership to trust and believe that he has in his teammates always sharing the spotlight with his teammates Lamar Jackson well deserved and this should be unanimous all absolutely there's no question you can argue it if I tried to make up an argument as to why it should be Lamar Jackson I would be an absolute fool mortgage wires I get fired yeah the boss would probably walk in right after you're actually right reprises call me right now so easily but Lamar Jackson clearly is the M. V. P. N. you know I give him so much credit he talked about really all the changes he did from year one to year two in terms of throwing style things like that and he brought such an element to this game that Lamar Jackson ease and a you know clearly unanimous MVP not going to argue with that one when it comes to that award barani let's move on to the awards maybe where we can argue a little bit starting off with the offense of player of the year Rodney Harrison who wins it for you well it's a man Michael Thomas was absolutely outstanding this year had over a hundred and forty five some catches but I'll give it to Christian McCaffrey I mean a thousand yards Russian a thousand yards receiving just to impact on a bad team switching quarterbacks who's going to be the quarterback is it we'll Greer is it Allen is a cam all the injuries just everything man I mean he's just been so consistent love this kid we talked about earlier in the show I think it's Christian McCaffrey hands down you know it came down to McCaffrey came down to Michael Thomas for me and Thomas had a tremendous season all time record for catches in the season but him his yardage total was seventh all time not that that that's a bad thing obviously but when it came to Christian McAfee being just the third running back in history to give you a thousand yards rushing a thousand yards receiving and Roddy unit you watch a lot of tape this is a guy the teams geared up for you still able to do that the guy again the football right you know a day and that's a great point you know everyone every cop everyone comes in and they do everything they can double team will put a defense back on when he's out of the backfield load of the box and the steel just think about how healthy at the state how mentally fresh for a young player to be able to get as many Kerry's and touches as he's gotten the run and pass game and time and time again show up every single week and put up those numbers on a bad team absolutely outstanding congradulations Christian McCaffrey we both agree Chris McCaffrey is the safety blitz offense of player of the year defensively radi who comes to mind for you I'll let you take this one because I'm still right conflicted with this one I look at Dominic cornerbacks I say to myself they are such an important part of a team in a lot of times you don't even see them during the course of the game because opposing quarterbacks don't go their way the real reviews had his own island and no one wants to throw to that island and you didn't have to give safety help so you could play safety up to play the run you could double team another wide receiver the reality is it means so much to a team Chandler Jones a dominant pass rusher this year nineteen sacks but to me Stephon Gilmore was the best defensive player in football because he literally shut down half the field it was the best cornerback in football and frankly probably was the best quarterback in football since Terrell Reavis in his prime to me Stephon Gilmore the New England Patriots is my defensive player of the year I was I was I was kind of just you know between Stephon Gilmore I was between should kill bear it Chandler Jones but you're the best player on the best defense and I got to give it to Stephon Gilmore is absolutely outstanding I'm AT one slip up against the Miami Dolphins devante Parker but your net island every single time the most impressive thing about Stephon Gilmore is he's really taking his game to the next level he really became up ball hawk you know he's a very quiet humble guy cannot unassuming but for him to play left corner right corner in the slot he shows versatility he was outstanding pick sixes interceptions pass breakups Taplin taking on responsibility week in and week out over seventeen weeks of taking care of the number one wide receiver Stephon Gilmore is to put defensive player of the year congratulations to him congradulations him as well to win the safety blitz defensive player of the year award the rookies good ones on both sides of the football offense civilian defense let's start with the offense of rookie of the year Rodney who wins the award for you I'm for me is is the guided really gave a team hope you know just come into this new coach in it a teammate you know it and I'm not even look at his numbers his numbers were solid didn't throw you know through some good touch downs and half the interceptions but I got it was just to me is going to be outstanding I got it you you know could scramble could throw was smart gave his team a chance and that's column or at the calamari was really outstanding I thought he showed a lot of potential I'm a name is Moffett's rookie year he wasn't even in the conversation for me the two guys that were in the conversation for me were Josh Jacobs with the Oakland Raiders and AJ brown with the Tennessee Titans and to me that you know I went back and forth back and forth between those two guys who deserved it more which guy was I gonna give it to and I'm gonna give the G. Josh Jacobs I know the miss what the last three games this season with the homeless three games come on in why do you still want over a thousand yards it's almost thirty percent of the games he was like twenty some percent of the games he missed what he what he did in those games that he played I mean when's the last time the raiders had that running back the you said to yourself could be a game changer is Alex it's a long story so let me just check ups he came in there Rodney and he was a beast from day one he was a beast I remember the first game and your you missed three games but if you end up with a hundred yards I'd say yeah that's not enough but he had won eleven hundred yards rushing yeah those thirteen games and there wasn't anybody else that was so outstanding to say they were better I know you like Kyle a marine AJ brown just had over a thousand yards receiving but Josh Jacobs is an exceptional player and they were legitimately a playoff caliber team up with him in and they weren't with him out he went from a you know it's funny because I was saying calamari because he is playing the most difficult position of all you know running backs and come in and play as a rookie quarterbacks a little bit more difficult because you're dealing with I mean look at his talent calamari his best player was Larry fitzgerald whose foot thirty nine forty years old or what what is the dirty old man okay the old man like that's your number one receiver that's your guy but I think he came in and gave this this the city the organization the team everybody hope and you can't go wrong with any of those guys AT brown has been absolutely dynamic Josh Jacobs is banned you know that Bruiser I mean they found their running back and he's going to be another guy in the next three or four years raiders now have to decide if they're going to pay him a ton of money and calamari so to me congradulations calamari congradulations are sick of you guys had an outstanding rookie year all right now this about comes on your face Rodney we get to your side of the football the defense who is Rodney Harrison's safety blitz award winning defensive rookie of the year who you think the boy out in San Francisco right your Nick Bosa yeah course and wanted both the nine sacks and you know people so used to secure bear and having one nineteen to have Chandler Jones nineteen and all these facts but this guy's coming in as a rookie and just pressures tackle in the backfield drawn double teams freed up those defensive tackles and everyone else on that defense the energy which he brought the positive energy with which he brought to that defense and just being able to do so many different things when you know you have that type of pass rush just athleticism and just everything that he brought I thought he was outstanding congratulations to Nick Bosa non sex yet outstanding years well in I also consider Josh Allen to a ten and a half sacks for the Jacksonville Jaguars but I think Nick BOCES job is just that much harder because the fact he is playing a pressure filled games guy started coupon in week three when they realize they have this kit is good and he kept it going I agree with you a hundred percent Nick Bosa is the defensive rookie of the year congratulations to him is he the best boasts a brother Roddy I think he's made because he's been healthy and I think he's more athletic enough you know you his brother's been a lead for many he just looked hungry right now yeah they're both good that both really really weird I mean can you imagine waking up in Houston one Bolsover right one both of that's a name that might happen in one day what happened exactly all right this was an interesting one because you know I mean the guy had to have done something the year before terms of maybe being injury injured having a bad season the comeback player of the year Ronnie this was a little bit more difficult to comes to mind for you forgot is recovering from ACL injury and and just came out and I feel like in two thousand nineteen really show leadership made some plays one a lot of close games I mean this is a guided wanted close games against some of the best teams of St Seattle Green Bay to beat the rams twice in the same division I gotta go Jimmy garage below two thousand and four thousand yards twenty seven.

"The the series on the NFL network where they list like the top players at each position in the NFL they're creating this top one hundred team which again I don't like the fact that and I mentioned this before they always basically go with the old school guys over the new school guys like for example I have no idea how you can have a list of the top defensive backs and you don't put Terrell Reavis on the list he's the best quarterback in the past fifteen years and he played in the most difficult era to defend pass catchers right no disrespect to like Dion Sanders suit I believe the greatest corner of all time but this is a much more difficult time to defend pass catchers and derail Reavis was the best guy doing it you look at its own nineties Marie shut out like all the star receivers in the NFL Andre Johnson Randy Johnson Randy moss Samoset ready Johnson Chad just like all these guys like all the star players in the NFL were shut down by zero reviews it's the best quarterback season that like pro football focus has ever documented and yet he's not unless just makes no sense to me whatsoever I don't know I am a running backs list with outlook AT and Tomlinson the guy was the MVP in two thousand and six he was by far the best running back of his era he was one of the most dominating football players of his era somehow that guy's not a list that doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever JJ what is a three time defensive player of the year the only person in the history of the NFL to be a three time defensive player of the year other than JJ watt is Lawrence Taylor and yet JJ why wasn't on this list okay that's rude to me I just get aggravated they lead with all the old school guys if you will it just made no sense to me whatsoever but Tom Brady of course is going to be on the list for the top ten quarterbacks Joe Montana's also on the list the rest will be revealed tonight on the NFL network here's what Tom Brady said quote when I was four years old I watched you'll play candlestick park on January tenth nineteen eighty two and I saw the catch one of the greatest place in football history it feels surreal today to be on a list along side my idol I'm very honored and humbled I'm sure there's a kid out there somewhere looking at this list watching the tape of me and Joe and making plans to knock both of us down a spot that's why football is the best so Tom Brady given some credit too is guy Joe Montana his idol for getting him to this level and getting a motivated all that different type stuff so it should be cool tonight to see Joe Montana and Tom Brady because correct me if I'm wrong we've never seen this before where the guys that basically it was always Brady in Montana is Brady got a past month data for the Superbowl rings etcetera we've never had these guys actually on tape actually have a discussion about playing the quarterback position we're actually gonna get that tonight with also bill Belichick in the room if you like the I felt like you have to watch this tonight you have to it if you're not gonna watch it tonight you gotta Willie's recorded to see the stories that Belichick has about Brady that Brady has about Montana and I'm assuming I don't know this for a fact okay because they don't reveal all this stuff because they don't want to put it out there but I'm going to assume the pate manic shows up in this thing now obviously is going to be on the list I'm not saying that but I mean I assume the pate manning was part of the production in New York City last summer Bella check likes manner member these guys golf together so I hope that you get Bella check Brady manning a Joe Montana all in the same room talking about the quarterback position like if you like the NFL you gotta watch this tonight man you gotta make some time to watch this thing tonight anyway I also wanted to touch on this so everybody's doing these lists as we mentioned in the last segment with that top receivers in history the NFL so NBC pro basketball talk he landed his group over there Dan Fellman etcetera they put a list together of the top ten NBA players of this past decade so here's how the list goes number one is lebron nobody's gonna have any issue with that number two is Steph curry number three is Kevin Durant number four is James harden number five is quite lettered sixes Russell Westbrook Chris Paul Anthony Davis Dwyane Wade and dream on green okay so here is the issue I have on this list I have no problem with lebron abroad how could you the guy won two championships at the Miami Heat he won a championship but the Cavaliers any beat a seventy three when team any was down three one of that series I I don't know how you don't have lebron number one Steph curry I feel like should be ahead of Kevin Durant's on this list and he is he's number two on their list Katie is number three even if you think Kevin Durant is the superior player look at what Steph curry did this decade first of all I went back to back every piece he did something that we've never seen in the history of the sport which is at four hundred it threes he's a three time NBA champion and not to mention Steph curry completely change the way the game is played okay the reason guys are taking all these deep threes now is because Steph started all this Damian lowered wasn't taking all these deep freeze before staff James harden wasn't doing it okay tray Yang is basically a product of the Steph curry error if you will Trey young doesn't exist in the NBA if Steph curry doesn't become before so he was such an influential player on the style of play in the league and all players are now willing to expand their range even more so curry is got to be on this list not to mention every time the guys in the line if he's got the best offense in the NBA so they had to rant at three no issue there Durant to tap finals MVP for time scoring chat incredible you know what he's going to dispute the guys tell but none the less Iran has had an outstanding decade despite the fact that he's a diva but number for this let's see as harden over coal eyeliner that's where I have an issue now if you're talking about a regular season player hardens been one of the best of the decade there's no question about that and you could argue he's been the best of the decade but here's the thing with hard I get E. S. scoring titles and I get a as an MVP but harden in the biggest moments hasn't been able to push through Kawhi Leonard did in San Antonio and I get he wasn't cool why yet but he was covering lebron James in those finals and then he has one of the best one hit wonders in the history of sports he's a hired gun in Toronto any brings a raptor team that basically the on that franchise has been they can't get it done when you get to the postseason member to rose and Larry they can't get over the hump and Kawhi Leonard Kerry's that team on his back against the seventy Sixers then they go down to to the Milwaukee Bucks and they come all the way back he covers Yanis any wins the MVP of the finals as well I believe that because choirs had regular season success when you're talking about two defensive players of the year awards and then you basically put on top of that that he's finished the job twice in the post season and more importantly in Toronto he was unquestionably V. guy they carry that raptors team to a final so because he's had the post season success I would put or put him over James harden on that list I think you got it because of the fact that he's been able to get it done in the post season and the question we have about James harden is when is he actually got to get it done in the postseason we're asking those questions is he actually got to get over the hump James harden still hasn't gotten that final trophy on the mantle that's all that's missing from his mantle is that finals championship that NBA finals championship in until you get that I can't put him ahead of quiet lettered when I've seen kawaii Leonard can do it at the highest levels not only in the Western Conference finals and Eastern Conference finals but I know he can get past that round it do it in the NBA finals as well the rest the rest of this list Russell Westbrook a look it's fine I I believe also was produced terribly over rated I believe Chris Paul is a better player but I get it why Russell Westbrook's ahead of Paul he won the MVP three seasons in a row with a triple double so I get it from a numerical standpoint and all that but if you're asking me in a playoff series who would you rather have Russell Westbrook or Chris Paul I would take respond because I think there's limitations on Russell Westbrook's game especially now he shooting is worse than it's ever been we thought last year in the post season when he played against Damian Lillard he just kept shooting threes any could head of it's almost like he couldn't control his emotions because well what was going off in all these threes it felt like Russell Westbrook was in a spot reads like all I got to start hitting the reason as I can it's probably not a good idea for us to take all these threes and he's let his team down ever since Kevin Durant is left in terms of the post season since Kevin Durant left yes I wanna play officers and that's the bottom line and we saw Chris Paul do it and I get it's not this decade but he did it with the clippers where in this decade where he won playoff series member he beat the San Antonio Spurs the year after they won the championship in a seven game series now he's also a short comings in the post season but who I would rather have as a point guard we Chris Paul no doubt about it so they have Anthony Davis after those two guys and I understand why Davis is lower in this let's he hasn't had the post season success and I mean there's been drama with the guy didn't factor that in but there's not a whole lot of drama with that guys well they've Dwayne Wade at nine for the early portion of the decade with.

"Try will the patriots organization yeah it ends with a over the bangles and again punching a ticket to the post season but they still have their sights set on another division crown and a first round bye I will have the opportunity against the bills next weekend in Foxborough the take care of more goals on the agenda the pats woulda today pulling away thirty four thirteen ninety eight point five the sports hub on the calls of the patriots clinch a playoff spot no surprise that the they beat the bangles and they've they won big thirty four thirteen in Cincinnati but go back to after no those are thirteen to ten game at half a bagel or the patriots were struggling offensively Stephon Gilmore though defense with a sixty four yard interception return for a touchdown off Andy Dalton so that the patriots are heading back to the playoffs Mike your numbers are numbers but one that would really conserving if I was a patriot fan your word we fifteen I don't feel talked about how the year ago doing still evolving but today only was Tom Brady fifty one percent he was four point four yards per attempt and what's that saying is I'm not even looking down the field I'm not getting the ball down the field you try to get rid of the ball so it's some that's a concern and kill Harry's the one guy that could place the proper makes a place for them and he's gonna need to if this team can take the next step following Stephon Gilmore maybe in the conversation for defense player of the year I think is the front runner I we asked you know it's really hard for for defensive backs to win that award because their production is not always often that significant the guy leads the NFL with six interceptions he's been incredible he just been remarkable he's I think he's been the most dominant quarterback since Terrell Reavis internet heyday with you Mike that's ESPN NFL insider field Yates who who's who's done now for the day field only to be out always always appreciate your your reference but I mean really we really losing you I don't think so you have it I'm all aboard exactly forty Niners at the goal I will tell you what.

"Safer floor plays for you thanks in laws even with the tough match up yeah right he his his fifty yards at minimum street got busted a couple weeks back but I was going touchdown somebody scored touchdowns band which has helped his fancy valley state anyone that passing touchdown but still it stays on that study for though and that allows you to keep John Brown and competently you'll still get to additional points in PPR league we think about be easily he's been hot in the ends on his I know that we know in that was last four to six in last week you could say that was a tough match up to Jordan Lewis who was covering Beezy a lot in the slot has allowed the third lowest passer rating when targeted in the slot in Beasley put up over a hundred yards and a touchdown in that game kind of authority was you have on hand yeah it was the it was the revenge game for Cole Beasley for sure but that's why it's tough to say I mean yeah he's got a tough match up again today Humphries been covering a lot of those slot corners I kind of like Beasley match of honestly with that I think more so in it's tough I wonder what the ravens will do because markets Peter is their most athletic corner but you can't just like John Brown is just as explosive as I fought against Cole Beasley and so you're not gonna Tyner's shadow be easily Peter sometimes will and discipline to yeah or over or even over aggressive so Fallon hits the right here is what he had said throw the right way or like you throws on a rope and it's not expected to be my god the touchdown against Miami for apple you know that was such a unique kind of deep ball throw then you can probably get Marcus Peters a little bit there I think the state side they're they're both it's a dangerous matchup but it's not a match for your like you can't play them yes right where are where Terrell Reavis member back in the days going to shadow him you can't put him in which was for your has run a reverse played buffalo wasn't always the case because it was all yeah Johnny Johnson was the one reviews yeah he was and that what that was always fun to talk about all right we don't have a lot of time got talk about my Jackson and his impact mark Ingram and the tight ends that they have in Baltimore are dangers tied into right now in the league tied into in the league and he's gonna be going up probably guess mammal on a lot yeah and that's not a good match out of them by the way the Baltimore deploys their tight ends I don't think that you sit interests especially based on the position then there's also you got a look at how well marking them playing this game the bills while very good almost actually very good their elite against the pass yeah but the run game is where you can get got with this bills in this is the best running deep running offense in the NFL so generally you saw what they did to even the New England Patriots on primetime football that's probably the best defense in the league right now and they ran all over them mark Jackson been best fancy player last season you're keeping him and I'm not saying don't we have a mark Jackson even though I did get a question this morning about Lamar versus somebody else first off play the guy the guy just you ride or die on that sort but marking rooms looking very favorable here mark Andrews probably is your best option Hollywood brown Hollywood brown questions dealing with injury as per usual and also going to deal with today this white no thank you yeah and there's no other real wide receiver yeah right there is so so he's going to treat you he's gonna get the white treatment he's going to trade treatment today so no no thank you I don't want that so Louis the reason I want to wrap things up so quickly on this one I mean I brushed over this Lamar Jackson fantasy impact here is mostly because I wanted to spend next minute or so talking about the fact that the two most maligned quarterbacks of this draft class I happen to be coming up against each other here today in looking like the to batter yeah layers of their draft they have than the best of that draft class I'll give you that I'll give you this take and we are going to break is going to help people going around the NFL and we talked about perception and I think and when you look at this game we can look back at the likely unfair perception that Allen Jackson had and I think you mentioned it really well on the night cap on Friday I think both of these players fell victim to a lot of the typical pre draft narratives a lot of that draft circle group think and I also think specifically for Josh you know when it was the I don't know if it's too harsh of a word with the air against of the analytics guys saying there was absolutely no way Josh and one could be something where you could been skeptical one hundred percent there are a lot of red flags in anyone's game as a prospect at Wyoming what to say the again I think it was the the arrogance to just definitively say that what he was gonna be in college is what he's gonna be in the NFL in calling him there was one you know analytics expert quote on quote they called him a parody of a prospect based on the statistics that a lot of these companies have created themselves I think it was unfair and I think you're seeing that you know is simple you can't the evaluation process I think that these two Lamar and Alan shine a light on the evaluation of tail in college and it really shines a light on what they can be versus what they are in college and I think a lot of the teams that end up trying to bank on what they can be are the teams that end up reaping the benefits and the teams that go for a Josh Rosen because you know what they are right now are not feeling too good about their situation so it's it is a game that you can celebrate for sure if you were a big on the Willmar Jackson and Josh and one train like me and you were well I was well you've not racially I'd you came around I can't run very quickly yes I spent three yours your one of the guys are saying this was my take so I got to just you know not taking zinc my feet into the ground and I'm not moving that's right it looks bad and you took you yeah three days of anger mmhm spend it all out there spend my energy on being anger for three days and got over it because why would I cheer against the bills and regardless and look real quick last thing he's not in a week quarterback yet but there were people said and one which should be a starter in the NFL you get that was that it was a lot they thought he wasn't he had no chance of success which is already been proven wrong we'll go around league next.

"Of setting an all time record for most touchdowns in a season by rookies you know how they got those rocky of course all the bears pics of Jack Jacobs and all these guys and my point is the bears are very very tied in to what they all are based upon that trade but she's not yet anyway criticism of mac right but you gave up a lot to get you did but you can't Minish the value of the trade for the bears because they socket picking quarterbacks you know what I'm saying so mac is on the mac is on an arctic lands him in in can't write it to me as we saw the and I agree in his pride hall of fame is the most important position in the game right now the guy who chases the quarterbacks and beats the crap out of that he's the second most important player mission on the field so listen I I I know what you're saying because it's left you without the capacity to fix your quarterback situation but that's a separate conversation you know what I mean these are what I'm saying is how does it become a great trade like when you make you make any transaction in a sport with the intention of used to using it to win you games now they want a lot of games last year probably a lot more than one right right so I I'm I hope it doesn't sound like I'm sitting here saying it was a bad trade I'm saying well it was a great trade I have some pause because you gave up a lot to get him and your offences soul bad I mean we just sat here talking about their offense is so bad and they're sort of hamstrung about doing anything about it that's that's the only point I'm making and I would actually also ask you is the second most valuable player on a team the pass rusher or is it the guy protects that now I was gonna say they shut down corner I and I learned to me I think the shut down corner is someone that that the offense can't game plan around in the same way they can game plan around Khalil Mack which is to say you put you have two guys block a little mac and you're good now obviously you're robbing Peter to pay Paul somewhere else right but when I put in as a as a fan of the jets I will tell you that Terrell Reavis just took your best receiver out of the game he might just as well have not played and at that time the best receivers were Teo Calvin Johnson Chad Johnson they just go back and look at the stats in those games like those guys would have two catches for sixteen yards so you're just taking that guy why I think that's the most valuable thing to have on a defense but what work much I guess what I'm trying to say is if I had drafted Pat Patrick my homes it would have been a great trade would have been the greatest trading in the state do you want to say hi to Revver next or do you have to go for her going any Sunriver will be here and grainy will talk to them to northwestern guys together we could talk about how bad their football team and.
