"There is an opening at that outside linebacker on the outside linebacker. Outside cornerback position. Can he take that job. And say cam sutton you were signed. But they knew they they're going to use you on the inside. Can he do it. I have to think that some of these players were drafted. Last season are just chomping at the bit to get an opportunity to show extended repetitions. Carla's davis anthony mcfarland. These guys didn't have a preseason last year and so that is going to be big. These games are going to be big. And we're gonna talk about the second half of the show this preseason willoughby a good test. We'll talk about that but let's get into these individuals so i said earlier. I don't think we've learned anything really about the team. But i do think we have learned even in this small sample size a lot about certain individuals and i broke this down four on defense. Four on offense. And i'm gonna just go one by one talk about the player why i feel like we've learned something about it and we're going to hash this out together so to start on defense. Wanna start on defense one of the individuals that i feel like we've learned about is antoine brooks junior someone. I brought up six round. Pick out of maryland. Twenty twenty nfl. Draft and. I have to be honest here. I didn't have really high expectations for anton brooks ginger coming in at twenty twenty one. This is a player that did not make the team out of training camp. Last year he was cut didn't get picked up. They sign him to the practice squad. He ends up getting elevated any sticks with fifty three man roster for the rest of the season but now all of a sudden they have him being the heir apparent their words. The media's words not mine the heir-apparent to mike hilton. He had a tremendous interception earlier in camp of ben rothlisberger. Keep that in mind. It wasn't mason. Rudolph or dwayne haskins joshua dobbs. It was ben in now all of a sudden he did get banged up a little bit on sundays workout. They said it's not serious. He's considered day to day. He should be fine but still antoine brooks junior. My goodness we've learned something about this guy but not just what we've learned about him we've learned about how the steelers are planning on utilizing him. Maybe i never thought as a safety when they drafted him. I was told that he was a box safety. Love to play the line of scrimmage. You did well. I didn't think that he was athletic. Enough to play the slide. We'll see we shall see arthur millette going to get a shot especially if brooks is out for a little bit. So we'll see. But anton brooks we have learned a lot about him as an individual cam sudden. Maybe cam sudden but how the steelers are going to utilize. We know cam. Sudden kim son's a veteran at this point to sign a new contract is second contract in the nfl. With the pittsburgh steelers in terra lawson spoke with media on sunday and he said that the plan right now is for the steelers to keep cam sudden on the outside. That's the plan. He's that kind of change. If there's someone like james pierre or just lane step up then they'll move cam back into the inside. He can play the nickel he can play. Time will see but as of right now that the steelers plan and we've all wondered this throughout the offseason. How are they gonna utilize cam sutton right now. He's opposite joe hayden as the as the number two cornerback or the other cornerback. Maybe don't maybe number one to here's another player on the defensive side of the ball. Roberts splaine now if i were to have written an article. When i didn't do this i thought about it. I thought it was in poor taste. And that's why didn't do it. If i would have written an article that said these and then number say four players. That benefited from the retirement of vince. Williams could have written that article. It would have probably done great and we'd probably a a lot of pages. But i said you know what now vince williams has been good with our site..

"Steelers fans. What's going on. This is jeff. Harbin senior editor behind the steel curtain dot com with you for another episode of the steelers training camp recap. They have four days in the steelers are about to have a day off but it is a situation where it's time that we go over. What happened on sunday. In regards to the pittsburgh steelers when they are they were at the. Up rooney's sports complex on the south side of pittsburgh. When they returned to practice on tuesday they will be at heinz field. There will be any fans in attendance until wednesday but the pads will be coming on when they report to heinz field and dad should be exciting for everyone that's going to be an attendance So far so good and from the injury front there have been some injuries of noble. Talk about that right off the bat. The steelers are really struggling center. Basically the fact that jaycee has now or did not practice on sunday. He was seen wearing a knee. Brace walking around they said or. I'm sorry that mike tomlin said that he is listed his day to day. Also zach banner. Who's coming off of an acl tear in week. One of last season he has not been dressing. The last few days tomlin hinted that could change once the pads come on Kendrick green who missed last practice on saturday with a personal reason was back so was. Bj fitting antoine brooks junior left practice early but was described as having nothing major so the worst of injuries to deal with in. That's part of camp is part of game as long as you don't have those season ending. Acl's or achilles ruptures. Then you're good for the most part now the the one rookie in it's kind of surprising. When you think about the rookie class you would think you would be hearing a lot about nause harris. I'm sure we will hear more about him. Once they put pads on. I typically when running back shine. Not when they're in shorts and but really we haven't heard from harris today. You hear a lot about pad fryer mus- second round. Pick out of penn state. Marco volley of the athletic says quote steelers. Rookie tight end. Pat firm. youth has been really good all summer including the past four days of camp. He's passed that test but it'd be going big one awaits next week when the pads come on and what mr kabbalah is talking about is his blocking ability fryer muse can run routes. He can catch the football. That's not a problem. He's very athletic. But blocking kenny due to the nfl level we will see also another reporter said that one of the standout place. Today pat farm youth ran a fade into the back of the endzone made impressive toe tapping grab when asked about his impressions of fryer. Me's mike tomlin says he's been impressed in farm. Youth has been readily prepared each day. So good news so far from the second round. Pick out of penn state terra lawson was. The he's the defensive backs coach in a senior assistant for the defensive staff. Vivas of coaching staff. He was asked about ben rothlisberger deep passing and he said quote. Oh he's still got an arm so that's good news when it comes to ben rothlisberger czar. Speaking of the secondary austin said that he wants to keep cam sudden at the outside cornerback position for now and see how the slot position pans out with brooks and arthur molet. He didn't rule out a significant jump. By someone like james pierre. Justin lane changing those plans and putting sudden inside so he's not ruling that out but as of right now it sounds like cam sutton is at least gonna start on the outside of that defensive secondary trae turner was also in front of the microphone today the first time the media got a chance to talk to the newly acquired guard and he spoke glowingly about how he likes the aggressive nature of the offensive line heading into twenty twenty one Talked about adrian klemm at canada. Good news so far on that front. But he also talked about david decastro. When asked about replacing to castro. He said quote. I just look at it like it's a new era a different time different places. Everything has an expiration date at some point quote. Decastro is a great player. And i wouldn't necessarily say. I'm replacing him. I'm just the new right guard and quote so a lot of respect from turner decastro as he takes over that right guard position. Speaking of respect he gave a ton of respect to one former steeler. That's about to get inducted into the hall of fame allen janika who he called quote a living legend and turner hopes his fellow. Lsu tiger will come and see him play he said quote. I have nothing but a ton of respect for mr flannigan admire his game. Been knowing about him. Since i got. Lsu in two thousand eleven. Hopefully i can make him proud and quote so pretty cool to see the lsu tiger connection between new guard trae turner and informer guard allen. Fanta Other news really was that There's been some new wrinkles. Put into the offense of guess. You could say the playbook. They're utilizing so far in camp. Derek watt at full-back a lot more brook prior. Espn was cited. That her favorite player. Today was ben rothlisberger hit. Derrick watt a fullback wheel route. They don't often use the full back in the passing game but nat canada will feature fullbacks more often. That was something that broke. Prior asked mike tomlin. He said to be determined. So like i said that kind of wraps up the first ramp up part of training camp there were no pads no hitting no contact they did team drills but there was nothing that was physical and hitting. That's going to happen in the upcoming week. They have monday off so there will not be any training camp recap on monday. I will be back for this on tuesday. But i have to tell you. "Goes breaking news station with the Divi report. Next news Ready? Go, 600 Kogo. This is the Gemayel report. The fight continued. So you might have seen the story over the weekend on Fox News National. We brought the story to them. These both billboards here in San Diego County, funded by your tax dollars put up by the county of San Diego Health and Human Services office that are lying to the public. Saying that racism is killing black babies. Quote. Racism hurts your baby long before they're born. Quote our health care system does not give equal tweet agreement to black women and babies, resulting in higher rates of prematurity, low birth weight and even death. Black babies or 80% more likely to be premature due to racism and discrimination. Not a single Claim. Substantiated. That racism caused these disparities. The overwhelming data and science shows. That income level. Is the determinant of healthcare outcomes. Income level. Not racism. No evidence of that. But your tax dollars have are well, let's be clear about it. Your tax dollars are perpetuating a line advancing alive that not only is offensive and divisive racially it will hurt the health care of blacks. If you tell everyone that your doctor is racist, your nurses racist, the hospital's racist. Do you think they're going to trust to go to that? Professional. No. They are encouraging people on this website to sue. And you filed complaints that you're being treated poorly because of the color of your skin. You have a government agency filling people's mind with this toxic brew of crap. With no data to support it. This is the same government agency that says we're out David a data driven where science based where evidence based No, You're not. You're bunch of political hacks trying to tear apart our community and you're hurting black people. Now. My friends on the left. You want to know what really hurts black babies. Try your funding for Planned Parenthood. The abortion mill. Oh, yeah, honey, we're going there. Oh, yeah. Better sit down. Better call old job, a heart, Joy Behar from the view. George is getting started. You don't you don't seem to care about all those black babies that are killed. The coral. It's abortion. It's someone's right. Well, take a look at the numbers. Abortion disproportionately hurts black Children. Do I think Planned Parenthood is racist. Uh, no, Actually, I won't go there. I think some of their founders were pretty damn Racists, and that's been documented. I think they just really get a kick out of killing babies. They see it as a form of birth control. I don't Look, I'm pro choice. Okay? I'm a freedom guy, but doesn't mean I'm pro abortion. I certainly don't think it's good for tax money to fund it, but I will point out that low income Ah, Individuals end up using abortion more sadly, because they don't think they can support their babies, and that's a travesty. We make it all too easy way too easy for them to just simply say, I'll just get an abortion. We should want to save those black babies and all babies. Imagine if I put up a billboard that said Democrats kill black babies. Little website that says, Go here. For more information. It's all about Planned Parenthood. Democrats hate black babies because they're racist. They kill them through their policies. Find out more. Now, that would be untrue statement. Would be untrue. I'm ascribing racial motive. No, that is easy is taking the pill. I think it's a pretty damn big step that needs to be well thought through before anyone even considers it. But if I put up a billboard Stating that Democrats were racist because they kill black babies through their policies. And it goes a little website that just says Oh, yeah, you know, look at all the abortions that killed disproportionately killed black kids. The data is Correct, but the narrative is dead wrong. The day the narratives ally The billboard would be alive. He would be untrue. These billboards are lies. They're untrue and they do damage. Not only by perpetuating racial divisions, they do damage by causing African Americans to distrust. The health care providers that they so, uh, need to rely on I'm calling on the county of San Diego to take down the billboards. You and I both know they won't Recognize that these billboards are political. These billboards are up in the community only because the Democrats won a majority on the county Board of Supervisors, Nathan Fletcher. Terra Lawson Remer, Nora Vargas. They profit politically off of racism. They want people to feel racial, racial animus. Towards each other. They want to turn people against each other because when they pit people against each other through their lies. Your billboards like this. They profit politically, They get votes. They don't care for Mom decides I'm not going to go and trust the health care system. I don't care if the kid doesn't get prenatal or preventative medicine. They don't care. Long as they get to vote. Stay alive long enough to vote. Hey, you know, perpetuate the myth, the lie the narrative of racism. Spoke out against this on boy. A lot of people called me and emailed and contacted us saying Thank you for being bold enough to state the obvious here and and and and and and speak out on this. I did get haters haters who said he must be a racist because you know what I said. I had the audacity to say. Not only is the are the billboards false but America how to raise his country. America actually has made lots of progress on racism..

"They add receivers upon receivers upon receivers guys that can do, you know, higby it end and lo and behold, and also, you know, some stuff on the offense of line into Whitworth being one but lo and behold Jared Goff second year twenty touchdowns seven interceptions third year thirty two touchdowns twelve interceptions. So it's not rocket science ahead. Yes. The arrow is trending upward in terms of superstardom for Jared Goff. I do not put him in the same stratosphere as a Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady or others. What I do put at in as a very good quarterback. That hasn't outstanding supporting cast. He could elevate. Superstardom? But the Rams you gotta give them credit. They brought a lot of help to him. And they Ray that raised his game while he did raise others as well. But. That's something you've got to look at especially in this in this process the scouting process. I think in you use that you mentioned that about Duke Tobin talking about getting faster on offense, potentially adding more pieces. Yes. Exactly. And another thing. Everybody is always saying well don't was only as good as players around him. Or what about the coaches, you know, good? His with different coaches have bad. We have -solutely have gotten to take a look at before you just get rid of as he needs to play under this new coaches and see what he's done what he can do is stand have been too good Cincinnati descent bleeding, like I think of risk, you know, on a rookie of mmediately. Go ahead and cut belt drinker Becker. I would have an anti. Now. I know I know I know. Yeah. No. I gotcha. I just I'm laughing because I know I know your your thoughts on Drake your Patrick. Hey quickly before before I get you out of here. John just just to get you before we get you out on the outta here. I wanna I wanna tell you about Drake. Her Katrin stats in case. You haven't looked them up recently, my friend. This last year twenty twenty eighteen zero interceptions guy. Zero interceptions. Twenty seventeen one interception. So in the past two years. He's played twenty seven total games and has had one interception. So. Valerie, I mean, I I don't have that off hand. But it's it's relatively high. Think it's like fifty million thing pack be wrong. Well, my point is, you know, I talked to you about. You know, we we we joke about. For cadre in your thoughts on him. But really he is not going, wait. I mean, that's just that's especially especially in in. We can we can sit here and bag on Terrel terra Lawson all we want, but his defense was supposedly, you know, made to create turnovers, and he wasn't even doing that than twenty nineteen. His cap hit is almost eleven million dollars net this next year. John ten ten point nine million according to spo- track. So there you go. So that would free up a lot of money just cutting him. But then you also also need to, you know, think about resigning Denard and others to, but John we're gonna get out of here. I appreciate your call. Thanks.
