A highlight from A Hunger Cry!

"Welcome to live behind the veil and atmosphere where men and women of God speak his word to this age and bring his kingdom to this earth. Do you have ears to hear and eyes to see what God is doing in this hour? Let us join our host and the family's conversation as the Holy Spirit is unfolding. The word behind the veil. I'm on your host, and on this podcast, the family opens their hearts to the cry of the Holy Spirit. Where is the God of Elijah? Where is the God of miracles? Where is Jehovah? The right now God. Join us in our cry to our father for a greater appropriation of his presence in this earth. We draw the Holy Spirit tonight, and we ask him to show us to speak through us, we don't understand. But our heart is yearning to function and do what it is you're wanting us to do. So show us, show us, reveal to us, we're not going to be satisfied any more with just a taste, and I draw on the Holy Spirit to show us that the guide us, and to speak through us and let us really see what are you doing, tell us what you're doing, show us. Well, we open our hearts. Our hearts are yearning to want to do and be what the lord wants us to do and be in this earth. In the name of the lord Jesus Christ. We agree with that. Christ called it a mystery. The mystery of Christ in you. The hope of glory. That's what the voice spirit was to do. Reveal, reveal. The mysteries of Christ. So we asked your Holy Spirit, reveal the mysteries of Christ to us. Show us leaders direct us. Right. There is a need here. We need the Holy Spirit. We need the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. I just cry out for it, lord. I cry out for it. You know, I want the Holy Spirit. The outpouring, the descending of the Holy Spirit. You know, we can read till we're blue in the face. We can quote scripture we can do all this stuff, but where is that reality of right now of it functioning? Where's the functionality of it? But in our mind, we think we have an answer. But you know, I don't believe that's the truth because we can not do it in our mind. We have to have the Holy Spirit show us and teach us, and guide us. I want that reality that simple scripture that says, these things will follow those who believe, it's not saying those who are miracle workers, or those who are this or that, it's those who believe the sick will be healed, will raise the dead, where is the lack of connection that we should have to see the reality of these things taking place. We lose the desire to know and to have it. God, in part to us a hunger for the Holy Spirit. Lord, I wanted, you know, I believe health on my own belief. Right. Right. I don't even want to have all the right answers about it. I don't care about the right answers. Care about the outpouring of Holy Spirit. It'll be evident yes. Very it's time for reaching in. You know, I want to be able to say, we better run because that is a promise the size of a man's hand, and we better run because it's going to be a day of the fact that I know that was Elijah talking about The Rain. You know, I don't care about that. I want the reality of what is a spirit leading right now. What is he trying to kick us in the pants for? Christ was not led. He was a driven. Driven. He didn't wake up and go or father lead me today. What do you speak? He was driven by the Holy Spirit. He was little driven. It was no question. I've experienced tastes of that. Did I have to do something? I have to do it. And I get up and I go do it. Because I feel compelled to do it. Driven to do it. But it's few and far between. Lifestyle. That should be the way we're moving all the time. One of the things that we can do appropriate the answer, and then let that appropriation have an expression, you speaking about him being driven. Where did he get that? He got it from his father. And it was like you just said Alan, it was from spirit. To spirit. This when the spirit fell on him at Jordan. Right, that's when he was first driven to go into the wilderness. Where is the fruits from the spirit? That's what I'm asking. That's what I'm looking for. I want to know, I want to walk in those. It doesn't matter how many hours a day I wait on the lord, how many hours a day I pray, how many hours a day I be in the word, it still needs to work. For me, it's not good enough. That it works in the spirit, where I can't see it. I live here on this Terra firma. In this part of my body, God made too. He made all three realms, my soul, my body, and my spirit. I am beside myself because we talked about this for 40 years. It's kind of like God's going, well, how long will you put up with this? How long are you going to put up with not seeing my word manifested? In the earth. Just imagine for a second. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit happens, and it doesn't stop happening. Right. Exactly. But we're believing for that baptism of the Holy Spirit where he comes and he is so much more real than the air we breathe. And that he is leading us compelling us driving us to say or to do whatever, and out of that compulsion, things start to take place. But I don't want it just to be a talk on what somehow we can touch him. Where he hears our heart cry, he hears it, and takes notice, I need an overflow of the Holy Spirit. I would, from elisha, where is the God of Elijah? That's that is our cry. Where is the God that's making things happen? You know, where's the God of Elijah, where brought down fire after he doused those altars with so much water. Where's that God? Or is the God who, who parted the Red Sea, who caused all the ten gods of Egypt to die. That's the God I want to see. That's the God I want to hear from. I don't want to be satisfied with just a puny little portion. If I am asking for an avalanche, I don't want to get satisfied for a thimble. We accept two little from God. God is very good about that. He'll give you a thimble full and see if you'll leave him alone. But it's only the beginning. I want to know his ways so much. I think it's his drive. He wants this in us, and were finally giving it an expression. Together, instead of just one or two, my focus is him, and crying out to him going, I need more of you. I need the Holy Spirit because how the heck am I going to be a channel to bring forth your kingdom which I understand is the bottom line? That's what you put me here for. To bring forth your kingdom in the earth, I can't do that with what little I have. I just can't, I can't follow the pattern of Christ. I can't. Christ couldn't follow it. He had to have the fullness of the Holy Spirit. I'm no better than him. Just like the disciples, there were bundling idiots. They're just like us. Until they had the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Of their something happened to those guys. Dramatic. Because they changed. You know, and excuse me if this is offensive, but it's not about me. We're not going to get ripped off. Right. You know, we're not going to be just like the guys in hebrews. They had faith, but they never got to promise. Exactly. They didn't get the promise, guys. You read hebrews. You read about Jesus, you know, we sing a song. That he would get his reward. I don't want to see another generation have to come and go. I want to see that fulfillment happen. I want Christ to get his reward. I want to see the fulfillment of everything he spoken on this earth to take place. I want to see those fulfillments. It's not about us. Never has been, aren't we his reward? We are. Experiencing the impartation of God's word through his family is life. NASA Confirms Mars Region Had Thousands of Ancient Volcanic Eruptions

"New evidence shows massive ancient volcanoes erupted on Mars The so called super eruptions occurred in a region of northern Mars called Arabia Terra over a period of 500 million years dating back approximately four billion years. The news was published in a paper in the journal Geophysical Research Letters this summer and said researchers who studied the topography of mineral composition of the region made the discovery. The research said each one of these eruptions would have had a significant climate impact. Patrick Wheelie, a geologist at Nasa's Goddard Space Flight Center, led the Arabia Terra Analysis said to release that it's possible release gas made the atmosphere thicker or block the sun and made the atmospheric holder modelers of bars say they still have work to do to try to fully understand the impact of the volcanoes. Boston Celtics: Becky Hammon and Kara Lawson Are Ideal HC Fits

"The celtics per soccer practice facility in boston this billboard went up campaigning for becky hammon or terra lawson to be the next head coach again. Keira has worked on the celtics staff. She is just fantastic. Monico who do you think is the best bit to code the celtics. I don't necessarily have a name yet right. Although i liked the connection that care has but i have three cs. Candidates should have they've got to be able to connect with this squad. They got to be creative in the offense and the talents of these guys and they've obviously got to be able to convert in terms of everything that they're doing practice. I'm behind the scenes. Has the translate on the basketball court. Care i kind of liked that idea so this answer. I am no way shape before trying to take this coach away from the current currency. Which is nate. Mcmillan from. The atlanta hawks. Because i think the hawks likely will try to keep him. But i think what mcmillan has proven and shown what he can do with trae young. Just imagine what he could do. Because he's defensive money he has all the pieces. He has all the young talent offensively. Mcmillan would be good candidates as well as becky hammon. I think hammond that she can handle a team. I think she won the something. Many years back spurs obviously and she took control. That team did a great job. So i mean. I think there's some great candidates out there ought always chauncey billups after-sale. Who's put his time in as well. But i think make is showing that he can handle superstars and and take them to the next level. If the hawks don't take him snatching maybe it's up

Receivers to Target in the Late Rounds of your Dynasty Rookie Draft - burst 07

"Fitzpatrick. Let's see if we agree on this next player. I'm a. I'm a little higher on this guy too. So it's a mad rod- saint brown from the lions usc. Yeah he's a player. I like them a committee. He's very similar in a situation fitzpatrick you know he's gonna come in And i mean there's really not much competition for them. You know pyramid tirol williams. Yeah and i liked terra. Williams pyramids pray. He's okay you know. Those guys might actually be more talented than a Brown but they're also. Canada beat up players through their careers. And i don't really expect neither one of them to hold up you know. And it wouldn't be shocked if They're also very different. Style player that ahmad brad. I think my bracket can be a good underneath slide guy and whereas i i don't typically like sly guys you know where we were talking about driving with the second round when you're talking about getting guy the third round of a rookie draft you know that's cool because these guys are good. Probably get on the field and You know i like him. I just don't know what his long term value is. Because i would assume that the detroit lions are going to upgrade their their wide receiver positions at some point. One of the things that saint has gone for him as he has. More of a complete body work in college. Played six games. Forty one receptions for four hundred seventy eight yards seven touchdowns pretty good for six games. Last season seventy seven receptions thousand forty two yards six touchdowns season before that as a freshman sixty receptions seven hundred fifty yards and three touchdowns. So i was pretty impressed with his stats. So for that reason. I like him. But as cow saying am i gonna adjust him over bateman more those allies more either. The moore's no. I'm not gonna drop them over that but if he falls i will take a look at him because i think the saints brown is stepping into a situation that scrape for him and this is what i. This is what. I come back to saint bad and i. I know that these two receivers aren't necessarily the most similar by keep coming back to kenny. Golladay when he first went till lines. We'll see third fourth round pick. Also he came down where there was a genuine Where there was opportunity for him to be the number one receiver in the And he took advantage of that. "Continuously, but are not realized until the conditions for bringing them to fruition are in place for example, thinkers as far back as Davinci observed the flight of Maple keys considered the action of the screw and sketch something that looked like a helicopter, but the helicopter couldn't be made. Until there were breakthroughs in metallurgy aerodynamics, engine design, and so on. The closer, those other fields grew to a helicopter ready state the more obvious helicopters were. So the pace of helicopter attempts only increases as the adjacent possible draws nearer. Once the conditions for helicopters are in place it's helicopter time, and so you get helicopters everywhere and all at once but from the perspective of a helicopter. They have been struck by Bolton inspiration and made something where nothing existed before they are lucky and tighten who has blended their labor and imagination with the raw substance of the world to make a thing that has never been seen before and would never have been seen without their genius. They're almost right. Except for two things first all the raw materials they combined to make a helicopter heart raw materials at all they're finished goods, other people invented through their own bursts events, ration- about which they feel every bit as proprietary as the helicopter Titan. Second even if they'd never being born, we'd still have helicopters. What does helicopter time you get helicopters there isn't just one helicopter Titan there is an emergent cohort of the. It's naturals feel like Laki and tighten when you have a bolt of inspiration. See it through to fruition. It's generally a lot of hard work and sacrifice and it requires a legitimately imaginative leap to realize. The honest truth is locking titans are a dime a dozen. And the alternate universe in which I never wrote a novel other people influenced by similar phenomena, wider world and by similar trends are literature wrote novels that filled niches comparable to mind. Ask any editor books and stories come in clusters and not just because people are copying what works. But because the thing that works as Zeitgeist Eighty and captures the spirit of the moment, and if something is the spirit of the moment than it is broadly diffused, empowering many people's imaginations. Being successful lock in Titan. Being the successful staff bacterium that manages to find its way into a break and it's host skin and spawn an infection. Yes. You had all the characteristics necessary to go viral. But you also got lucky by being in the right place at the right time, and if you hadn't been there, someone else would've been. Living in a moment in which markets determined something's for and thus weather it's creator we'll have a dignified life has elevated the Laki and delusion and racer to. Them it's not just the adventures in the creators fearing the indignity of penury and a society without a social security network who say things like I worked very hard on that I created who are you to rework at and treat the musical forum or the literary genre conventions of the court progressions of the references that I plunder. Terra nullius begging to be mixed with my labor, it's the financier. Would Fund the production of such original books music and fills but for the right to stop people from using our works in their unoriginal derivative works, it's the. I'm not a patent troll without people like me willing to buy up the inventions of lucky and titans like the person whose name appears on this patent no one would invent things the fact that I make nothing but lawsuits that extract cash from people who are making things of us is not important because that extraction business creates the market for inventions that were warns Laki Titans without whom progress install. The Iranian hero is delusional his hallways. His achievements are combination of free riding on the people whose contributions he's erased and bleeding that everyone who had the same ideas him was actually stealing his idea rather than simply living in the same influences he had. This is an intrinsically. Or sexist or discriminatory. But when you ripping off and denigrating other people, it's a lot easier to get away with it if you're rich white dude. The problem is that property frameworks especially, when applied to ideas demand an unrealistic simplicity of title, Edgar Allan Poe invented the mystery story at the same time as several other people were inventing the mystery story but his invention, an improved and a myriad of ways by practitioners who had brilliant ideas that other people in their cohort. We're also having organizing authorship around markets requires us to either give Edgar Allan. Poe's estate a royalty every time we read a mystery or denigrate the value of post contribution to zero. But we can have complex non-property ways of looking at things. I wrote my books they were hard work. I made real imaginative leaps that contributed to the field. Also I wrote them because I read the work of my peers and my forebears, and if I hadn't written them, someone else would have written something comparable all these things can be true. All these things are true. Originality exists it just doesn't exist in a vacuum. The descendants of settlers colonialists have done beautiful and kind things amid ugly and brutal ones and reconciliation with indigenous peoples of the world does not require us to repudiate those achievements only to acknowledge their context, the injustices that they were rooted in and worked to right those wrongs. On the other hand I can't imagine eating Aloha Polka anytime soon, I have no idea if it's any good, those people are a bunch of jerks. All. Right Dan well, thank you very much. I'm going to go. "In Sixteen Sixty John Locke published his two treatises of government where he set out to resolve the seeming conflict between individual property rights, which he valorize, D- And the Bible Ditto which set out the principle that God had created the Earth and its bounty for all of humanity. How could a Christian claim to own something personally when God intended for everyone to share? His creation logs answer was the labor theory of property. Private property is the result of a human being taking an unclaimed piece of the common property of humanity and mixing it with their labor. Each human owns their body, and thus the Labor of that body creating our property cocktail one part unimproved nature, one part-human sweater the brown mix well, and serve in perpetuity. More than a thousand years before John was born the people of the island of Keke coined the term Aloha, which is president all the languages of the region today. It's an untranslatable word that conveys a beautiful complex blend of emotions and sentiments. So iconic that adherence to the aloha spirit has been Hawaiian state law since one, thousand, nine, hundred, eighty, six and the nineteen seventies three hundred years after the publication two treaties of Government Hawaiian express their aloha spirit and dish called poke a delicious mix of raw fish served with Seaweed, rice, Greens, roasted, and craft cuckoo not mean and other variations in two thousand twelve. This dish spreads the mainland and mutated further acquiring many new and delicious variants in two thousand, sixteen centuries after Aloha and lock decades after Polka. Zach friedlander founded a restaurant called aloha poke in Chicago, and in the summer of two thousand eighteen friedlander successor Chris Birkenshaw retain the law firm of Olsen and support us limited to threaten Hawaiian shafts operating pokey restaurants insisting that they remove the word Aloha from their business names friedlander defended the company's actions and dismissed criticism as a quote witch hunt and quote fake news. Eventually prompted of Polka to issue a half oust self pitying apology and tobacco off a little from its threats. Reading that apology, you can see the specter of lock haunting every word Friedlander, his staff, and his investors put real work into making a midwestern chain of restaurants identified by the name below. Those unimproved words had been around forever and no one else was building a national empire with them by getting to the idea I and mixing their labor with it. They had transformed the bounty of nature into private property. This odious spectre haunts much of the world today and it has plenty of company for this conception of property rights has sent millions to their graves in seventeen seventy, eight Europeans began to colonize the inhabited continent of Australia who's aboriginal people have lived there for over sixty five, thousand years. These people did not embrace lock in property theories, but they certainly used an improved the land they had inhabited for virtually the entire era of behaviorally modern human existence. The Europeans staunch lock INS had a problem. They want a harvest, the bounty of a new continent, but absent the agreement of the people who already live there. This would be theft by lockie and lights. To solve the conundrum, they deployed a bit of Aloha poke logic. They declared the ancient community helping to be owned by no one they called it terra nullius nobody's land and proceeded to improve it to make it into property meaning these improvements involved acts of genocide against the indigenous people after all, if something is owned by nobody than the people on the land must be nobody. Both finality of Aloha. And the genocidal brutality of terra nullius reveal deep problem lurking in the lock in conception of property. All the stuff that's just lying around is actually already in relation to other people often the kind of complex relation that doesn't lend itself to property like transactions where someone with deep pockets can come along in by thing from its existing quote owner. The Labor theory of property always begins with an active erasure, all the people who created used and improve this thing before me we're doing something Banal and unimportant, but my contribution is the step that move this thing from a useless unregarded comments to a special proprietary finished good. Criticism of this delusion of personal exceptionalism is buttress by of affronted perplexity can't you see how much of my really top notch Labor I blended with as natural resource to improve it who will willingly give their own Labor to future projects. If every time they do loafers, takers common free ride on their new property. This Move continues the erasure. It denies the claims of everyone who came before you as a historical figments. The people coined popularized and nurtured the word aloha or inhabited. The Australasian landmass are stripped to their claims as though they were honeybees whose output is a naturally occurring substance that property belongs to the beekeeper, not the swarm. The sins of settler colonialism are rife with this kind of lock in delusion. Taryn Nullius was doctrine applied by all manner of Europeans to all manner of quote, new worlds. It is also front and center in the most pernicious intellectual property debates the parts of musical composition that Europeans refi melody are eligible for copyright, but the characteristically afro-caribbean elements complex poly rhythm are not has the Beatles. Could appropriate be progressions and rhythms to make new music of about woven tied the hip hop artist who samples the Beatles to make a new composition today. The Beatles worked with UNIMPROVED nature that his arm be while samplers are stealing the property of the Beatles Record Label. But. Even though the lock in delusion is often ranked in racism intellectual property debates also contain equal opportunity erasure. Invention is an intensely personal activity that has nevertheless socially determined as Kevin Kelly documents and incredible unmissable twenty ten book what technology wants most of the major breakthroughs of our species were recurring phenomena, TV radio and break throughs occurred more or less simultaneously and independently all over the world. Kelly explains us there his idea of quote the adjacent possible which says that ideas suggest themselves more or less.

"Hi there and welcome back to the Corey Dr a podcast I'm sorry that this is coming a few days like this week I've been having Mike Problems very early on during the plague, our local power substation exploded. Probably. Because they were running short handed and couldn't do routine maintenance, the fireball was visible from several miles away my power supply conditioner was tied to throw it away. And My soundboard where I plug my mic into start Fritz, and it's been getting worse and worse than I tried replacing it with some other equipment none of which ended up working. I've got more equipment on order. John has been tirelessly helping me tech this but in the meantime. Needed some financing to get you a reporting. So I'm hoping that my recording gear holds up because I have a couple of gigs coming up this week. The first is that on the twelfth, which is in two days as I record this Monday afternoon that I'm recording us, I'll be talking with Christopher Brown about failed state his latest novel the third of his novels about a kind of Echo Pakalitha Texas legal thriller comes cyberpunk Thriller Come Eco Thriller they're really Good Books Brown another one in Bruce Sterling's proteges and really is. An amazing writer and a very fun and thoughtful speaker too. So it should be a good event we're doing with book people in Austin, my very favorite bookstores in the whole world, and then on the fifteenth as I mentioned last week, I'm being inducted into the Canadian fiction and fantasy hall of fame, and that's a the when worlds collide convention events free to attend P WANNA. Hear me say all kinds of schmaltzy things and maybe choke up a little. That's the one to come to. You know the drill I have new books. There's an omnibus edition of little brother and homeland that's just come out with an introduction by ED. SNOWDEN makes a handy. Dandy gift they're beautiful and there's also my first ever picture book Posey the Monster slayer delightful book illustrated by Rockefeller, about a little girl who doesn't like to go to bed because it's much more fun to repurpose her toys field expedient monster. Hunting weapons. This is great for her not so great for her parents whose lack of sleep turns them into zombies, and that is the only kind of monster that this little girl posy can't defeat. Yes I am drawing on some personal experience here, and thankfully our daughter is sleeping a little better these days now that she's twelve, I hope you're sleeping K. to I hope your life is chugging along well. So, this week, I'm not GonNa read to you from someone comes to. Town. Because someone on twitter pointed out that I never read my locust column Terra Nullius into this podcast. I think that's because I- podcast a speech I gave that hued very closely to the column that I gave at the Internet archive as part of what they call the grand reopening in the public domain that was ear and change ago when for the first time in seventy years, new works enter the public domain in the United States and they had a party like it was nineteen, twenty, nine I think was the thing now that I think about it that sounds starting to maybe party like nineteen twenty-three. I don't know I can't remember what the actual date was, but I went and gave this talk about the nature of copyright and so-called Intellectual Property afterwards. Some people I really admire said some really kind things about Larry lessig James Boyle, and others so. That went over. Well, the title turned Nullius obviously comes from this idea that settlers colonialists used in the so-called new world. But in particular that phrase came to mind when I spoke in several forums in Australia during the tour for walkaway and in many of those cases I spoke with or opposite clear Coleman who has a very good book by that title Terron Elliot's Clara's on aboriginal person from Australia who is also trains and who wrote a book about the intersection of gender indigenous identity and Australian politics. That is very good and I recommend you. Okay Dan without further ado, I'm going to now re to turn Elias I've got a reduction get out of here because I got a big day ahead of me, I'm going to go into a studio and record a documentary interview for vice they have. Booked the studio over the entire weekend. As I record this I say it's Monday afternoon. No one has been in the studio since Friday been sitting empty I'm GonNa go in masked no one else is going to be there will be a video camera and a screen pointing at me that will interview me and I'm going to use a sterile microphone that I click to my own lapel to talk back it's going to be an adventure. Kind booked me studio around the corner and apparently the century is going to be the cornerstone of the dock. So they have asked me to come in for a very long time two and a half hour. So I gotTA hurry here. So that further ado then turn Elliot's from the March twenty, nineteen issue of Locus magazine..

It's not just it's just just not A one night stand. It's there's relational things going on here. Yeah in one of my man card you do have a one night stand but it definitely happens happens in happily ever after for sure is that is that part of and so we're sort of entering the writing life segment here. Is that part of writing a good romance dance story. Romance novel is making sure that is that is more than just about the sex that there's some kind of relation story plot. There's some setback. Second thing is that part of the what you're trying to absolutely. Yeah I mean I definitely live I I mean I try to think about what I want as a reader and I know that I wanNA to get a little bit of depth between the characters and and know who they are so. I think that that's definitely important for the reader because you wanted to be believable right absolutely so your story when it comes to riding in the RIF segment Understand you woke up one morning from a drain. You got up you immediately. wrote your the dream Gal you shared it with your husband and he said what I WANNA know more yeah It was kind of a powerful moment for me. Because has that dream was it was. It was very very vivid like I could see it and so when I wrote it down. And he wasn't awake yet and he came amount and handed it to him. I said what do you think because at that point. I didn't think I could do this. And I truly believe that and so I ended it to him and he was like I'd love to know more and I'm like but he's like tell me more so have you always dreamed of being a writer or did this dream turn turn you into a writer I would say the dream turned me into a writer. No I I never planned on this. I mean I wrote poems in high school and I still have them but that was about it for my expense a frightening. You told me before we started the podcast that When you have to have this dream and you said your husband wanted him to more that you felt like you just need a little bit of encouragement open up your creative side of your mind and then now your ideas kinda start to just just flow? But they were sort of that initial gotta get going to talk about that. Yeah I think I had to See that I had the the capability of creating a story and I. It just took a little bit of time. I think I restarted my first book about three times deleted it and then started my second book up instead So it just took some you know just putting words down and seeing that You know how that would lay out And then finally realising all the sudden one day I just like started the very beginning of the book and went. Oh that's how it goes okay and then I just kinda realized that I had the capability of creating a story. You know if you have too much of a routine and when it comes to sex and relationship maybe not such a good thing but his routine part of being a good romance writer when it comes to your processes and procedures or routine oriented person. You know I wasn't until two thousand nineteen. I became a planner I was not. I was a fly by Cedar Pants GonNa go so oh but in two thousand nineteen. I started planning. I got a planner. I do quarterly plannings And I and yeah I had to plot out everything. Thank to ensure that I followed. Got All my books out the way that I wanted to help you be more productive. "Hide yourself lists and <hes> around three years old of two thousand may of two thousand eighteen. She was squinting hunting constantly and looking at you. It almost looked like she had like a like a tick like she was just she couldn't stop wanting and and so we took her a to hover is checks and the fluid that was on her brain was putting pressure on the nerves on our eyes is and when we went back to her neurologist he basically said like it's only gonna get worse we should we should push on and within in less than two weeks later. We were putting shelton. I was scared scared to death because this was a different kind of shunt than my girlfriend tanya hi. This is a programmable shun did she couldn't have cell phones around her. She couldn't have magnets around her. She couldn't have all of these things that could reprogram this shunt that were like common everyday we day devices that we use and <hes> only it was just two thousand eighteen was probably the hardest year of mothering for me <hes> because of all of the crazy experiences and two once i knew that like i read all of these horror stories about their children not living normal lives if if they have hydrocephalus and some of them like even dying and like horrible like <unk> there were people that had like over a hundred surgeries injuries revisions and they were only like twenty over one hundred. There was people praying like i just hope that my daughter or or my son turns older like has more years in their life than surgeries like i don't want this life for my daughter like i never expected. This were totally prepared for tourism. We were not prepared for hydrocephalus but it will say that <hes> one the scariest statistics was <hes> in the first two years fifty percent of all shunts fail and i thought like fifty fifty percent like that's not like that's like one out of two. I'm thinking in my head like that one too and sure enough left two months later. We ended up having to do a revision and it was just like i was like okay. So are we going to be in the hospital. Every two months months like at that time i was like is this is going to be a thing. I mean brain surgery every two months where my mind was in it was very depressing and very disheartening heartening because i felt like she's being gypped link valuable time in her life and <hes> i. I knew she wasn't walking and that was what the neurologist said is because it's the the fluid on her brain is really affecting her ability to be able to walk it. You know your brain controls your entire body and so that was all of us just wanted to see her have a better life and we just made the decisions we felt.

"Music was like you're like I'm fighting is she? All. It's country music and dogs. And the dogs is a thread throughout this entire story just crazy, because, like you're talking about how your mom she and you mentioned like the kids were gone. She didn't have a dog at the time. And maybe that's why she was was willing to let this guy in and you're, you're you work with the dogs, and then you're. Talking. Yeah. Yes. And then your dog noticed him, probably before you did, and started barking, and then your dog, you know, help save you when he was nipping at his at the seals literally. Cash out a lot to do with it, and like their instincts are so on point. Yeah. So I want to know about like the healing process after this. I'm assuming you probably went to a lot of therapy. Right. Oh, yes. So much. And everyone, obviously you probably have crazy PTSD from everything. But like it's pretty crazy. How you can talk about this, so candidly, and it just seems like it's a normal conversation to you. Well, there's like, I, I didn't wanna talk about it his it's so it's retraumatize in going through your trauma, each time and even even talking about it now, I'm not gonna lie there still time where I'm like after this podcast. I really liked to go home and just hang out with my dog saying, like recuperate from it. Right. I'm but I've been through so much therapy, gone through EM DR even role. A couple blog posts about may trauman my therapy. Steph, I'm but I started out doing MDR therapy. Cute explain that to. I know what it is. But it's a very interesting. Yeah, former therapy. So what my therapist did is she has these buzzers in these, like tapper, things that I have to hold in my hand, and I have to have her turn it on really low, because when they're on their high, it actually is retrieving to me. So you kind of have to, to EM DR in kind of work your way with what works for you. What is it supposed to be simulated? I'm it's just like a sensor kind of it's like you go through your hack. And it helps like rewire your brain a little bit with having an extra since on it. Interesting. Yes. And then like you will go through like a play by play. Yes. And then this the sensors will go off at certain times and. Sorry they're going off the whole time. God seeing. And so, like, I would have them in my hands, and then I would actually start with a way less trauma than what I went through because I've experienced multiple traumas throughout my life, like with, like, so have a lot of people. And you don't realize that it was a trauma, when you were younger, so you start out going through those ones, and then you feel like at the end of each time you talk about it, you're like, okay, so on a scale of one to ten how do you feel about this? And then you keep going through it to get it to a lower number got up interesting. I've never heard of it. Yeah. It's, it's I it's like a lot for PTSD getting through like a specific moment trauma. So then that's helped you a lot. And then I was I going to say I was listening to another interview that you did. So like when you do that you're. Put yourself in a happy place. Right. I'm so at the end of it. Well, you I like create your happy place and it's important to have that as a base. And whenever things get to a level where it's too much to handle. You can't really talk about it or you start to get like a panic attack from it. Then you go, your therapist will be like, okay, let's go back to your happy place. What is your happy place? My happy place and so used to do fly fishing with my dad and Montana. And so it's like at this dude ranch where we used to go fly fishing, and it's like this little pond, and then I've made that's not in that. But like I'm out the pond. And I had my dog with me cash. So it's like I put things that weren't my hobby placed before if that makes sense you kind of make your hobby to your own. Yeah. You create your own love that Trump's such a nice up. Plays all about him. No, seriously. What you've been through is so hard. Well, they take care of yourself. You're going to therapy, you're doing these things and you are so resilient. Thank you. You just can't let something like this. Hold you back from other things you got to go out and live life. And it's like this thing like it was a horrible event that I went through, but at the end of the day, he's not here. He's not hurting other women. And if I were to survive something, I wouldn't want me a talker there at the end of the day. So I think it's a huge blessing. It just there was so many things that I had to go through that they are hard. But like I'm so happy to be here. You know, do you think he might have attacked anybody else in the past and got away with it? So as I know he talked this one girl, I think it was in Laguna beach. But she fought back and. He ended up suing her because he felt down in like broke his teeth. So she he sued her, and she had to get him new veneers in style. Oh of by a God. Yeah. I'm that is the ultimate, conman. You try to attack a girl, you fall a hanger teeth and then she has to get you knew veneers. How how's the relationship within your family, the relationships within your family been since? I mean how how the relationship with your mom your sisters relationship with your mom because that's like a complicated thing, especially with your mom. I'm well, I want to just say this. I, I love my mom to death, but there has been points where it's been hard for me to fully accept her apology because it's like I couldn't like I couldn't have well, this situation couldn't have turned out into a better situation. And we did warn her so many times. So there's like resentment from us warning her in her not listening to us, and that's hard sometimes. But now I'm in therapy with her about Scott. Yeah. I mean totally and it's just like teaching each other like what makes her happy and how I can communicate with her, and then how she can communicate with me and just do it openly. And honestly in not like lie about anything because when she was with John, she did like lie about some stuff about him because she was scared. And so I just have some resentment from, of course, having a good relationship with your parents. And with your mom is tough enough as it is to have this whole thing on top of it. Yeah. I have one question about, so do you boyfriend or are you dating? I'm I'm dating by and my love life's really complicated though. Is it always say, is it having had this experience with him being a psychopath? Con artist tried to kill you like has that made your ability to trust men and their intentions harder since then I'm a lot more judgy like if a guy if a guy does something that I am judging him like actually just ended it with this one guy, because he had a lot of like narcissistic, qualities, and it's really funny because a couple of days ago, this girl, contacted me and warned me about him. And I was just like Heidi hate. Already done. But let's get together and talk about him. She find you or how did you know that she that he dated you? I'm because I well as stage coach. One of his friends went to the neon carnival, and I was there also. And I was trying to avoid him. And like try to like get away from him because I was already over him. But then him and his friend, find us in his friends like a gay man, and my friend was so drunk and she's like, I'm never had a Cape us friend before the whole time. She just wants to hang out with him in having new gave us friend and I'm just like I love you Brooke, but like. Really? Friends with him like he was amazing. He was so cool. But like the guy that I was dating like shit. Some of the narcissistic, qualities that, that he was presented. Okay. So I'm this was like, after a few days, I went on like probably three day with him. But after like, I think the second day he came back to my house, and I have a puppy and the puppy is kind of crazy. She's a little bit wild. But he kept on making comments to me that I was so crazy for adding another animal in my life, and I'm just like thinking, like, I'm not crazy. I love my life. I love my dog soap judging me, bro. Yeah. And looks like for you. Like Billy said it's like this comfort and the safety. And like you can rely on your dog over anything. I mean that dog helps when you and your most vulnerable moments of your whole life. Yeah. You know, more the merrier writing on the dog. Give me all the dog. Apartment. I probably have like four. So he's being funny for being crazy. Well, he's kept on calling me, crazy and lots of red flag. Yeah. When sewing uses that word too much, and they call other people crazy. I'm like most people. Crazy. Yeah. So I was like, okay is really the crazy one? And. I do this thing with my puppy, that's called pressure training. And it's for like when the dog bites union stuff, you like apply pressure into their mouth in, you either get them to let go or they just like yelp one time and it's over and he made the dog yelp, and he didn't like go and the dog continue to cry. And I literally had this whole him like, okay you could let go of my dog now. And yeah. And hear him to do in that moment. It like told me that he didn't have any empathy that he was hurting dog or any boundaries for what he should be doing to somebody somebody else's. Did he know your story? I'm I don't think he knew it fully. But he actually went to the dirtyjohn premier. So then he knows too. Yeah, he's an idiot. I'm sure don't know. I think we last question is, so obviously the Bravo show came out based on the podcast. Do you think that you were, and your story was accurately represented? So it's so hard to be the person having their stories hold. So I think that there's always death. I would want differently. But it can never be exactly like my life. And but. I really respect how they did it. And how they ended it. And I really respect that they met up with me and really got my perspective of the tack, but attack is actually. Almost exactly how it happened. There is like one thing, where she put up her back back, and I think that I need to clarify, when I like put up me purse to protect my heart was like literally just over my heart. I wasn't like defending your with the backpack. You know, when a mean so that was different. But everything else was like from my perspective and how it went down bus goes Justice. What are some of the things that you would have changed? I'm. Well, I just would change like some of the events to make them more. So exactly how they went down. But with it being like Bravo TV. It's like the can't do the are exact story there has to be some stuff that are different. And then if someone's like names in there like my ex boyfriend thought stories changed right if he's not like signing off for it. What's next for you? What next so far I'm just working on my blog. And I'm really I'm trying to get more into talking about PTSD in the drama in therapy. So I'm trying to do more blog posts like thi-, but I'm also traveling a lot. And then we have crime con coming Nash shirt, much fun shirt. Yeah. Are you like, are you trying to get into the talking to other survivors or anything about the self defense or any into that world at all? While I would really like to do more speaking engagements going around and talking to girls about surviving surviving may attack what they should do in attack like that. And then also about the aftermath about the PTSD and what it's like to go through trauma, because I don't think.

"All the red flags that I guess, are happening right? Yeah. Well, I'm even talking with like one of my friends in. She's in a relationship in, I don't think the skies in narcissistic, or narcissistic, or psychopath, or sociopath. But just he is confused in. It's just she sees a lot of the red flags that he is confused. And she doesn't want to admit to them. So it's when you're in it, you don't want to admit to the because you're like, oh, I think I found this love finally. Yeah. I mean Jesus. I just did it like a year and a half ago and it was a nightmare. And I moved in with someone it crashed and burned I moved out, it was a horrible, horrible situation. And it's like I thought I already thought I was an adult, and that I was making wise choices. Yeah. No, you're not. So still not. Wise at the time, and then when you're out of it, and you can be introspective. You're just like what was I thinking? Yeah. So it's like you think that she just she just wanted that kind of love like all of her kids were out of the house. She didn't have any dogs at the time, you know, so she wants someone there with her, and I'm, I'm not gonna lie. I'm a really independent person. But sometimes it's like nice to have someone around to help you with stuff in like give you a tension and put a shelf on a long time when you're single, it's nice to have someone to just text all day with it's nice to just have someone Chen. Then it's just a distraction from the, the horror that is the reality of being an adult. My cool at work again. Sad. And I'm like it's been six weeks like the weeks are flying by like you want want something. This is really venting. Tinkering Holly going through. She's going through it. I feel about you. Sorry. Where we are. Where are we in the story? We're Rockies choosing. We're tracking the car. She's choosing these shitty shitty men over and over again. And then she's getting fooled. Yes. What about the, the first sign of something more disturbing than just not being invited to thanksgiving? I'm he won't he like isolated ice yet. Fizzes sign a sociopath in psychopath. Do is Elliott Nate the person from their family friends, then a lot of the other red flags is he was using her car. He didn't have his own car, and then when we would ask him why he didn't have his own car. It was because he came up with this elaborate story how when he was in Iraq, all of his cars and his motorcycle got stolen all the cars look at Billy's face. And I'm just like. When he told me this story. I'm just like, okay, I call Bs on that, like you can't tell so in that and then you're like wondering where the insurance money is in no offense. But if you're high up there in your an anesthesiologist, then you have good insurance that will take care of that right away. You know, a pretty shitty lie. So this is around thanksgiving, right? That we're talking about. And then when how long was it between thanksgiving? And then when everything went down, I'm when everything, so she. Married him and December. And then I honestly did you go to the wedding? Heck. No. Not married in Vegas, though, which is where I was living got married in Vegas. She's like, I'm blocking it out. I'm not a hundred percent share. I don't think it was the little white chapel, though. We didn't get the little church of the west. I think that's where they got. Oh, that's, we're in the same guy that married us married, Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford that in on good at all. Cindy Crawford did one out of three but also Elvis Mary's Ann, Margaret at the end of Viva Las Vegas and that same chapel. Okay. Apec debt. That's not why I picked it. "Okay. Experiment from terra the latest in the being of lights trilogy any better than what we've been seeing the last few weeks. Well, last few weeks, we were getting love boat tonight of this episode this highway to heaven, I just needed Michael Landon to be in the show, you know, his hair would be right in it would so work. It will you'll be a battle. It'll be a. Battle of the hair we tween between Richard hatch, Michael Landon and Benedict. It be now be more entertaining than the story. I I I seem to recall liking this episode. I seem to recall liking when I've watched it the first time. Yeah. But when I ching through this one hate it. But I definitely thought that the thought the original pilot was a little heavy handed on the whole peace through force thing. But this is so much worse. I mean, even even star Starbucks the other guy Apollo he says it at the end of the episode some believe that the opposite of war is peace. Opposite of war is laboring pretty dark view of the world. Isn't it a little bit? Yeah. It is. It's pretty dark Pritam is cheese through strength alone. His words not talking about moral strength, yet the cat or he's talking about military military strength yet. That's a little disturbing. I don't like that. Either of that. I'm sure that you could look back in history and find less savory political figures who have adopted that philosophy. But we look at them now and say, no bad idea. So for for this show to actually tried preach that cause right there. There's no ambiguity on that they are clearly making the case that peace is achieved through that type of military strength. And I was like what you're looking at day top. Now, I mean is this is supposed to be some sort of. Television representation of the Cold War that you know, that that maybe you're trying to preach about it's not coming off every well, and I could I could accept that point of view. I mean, as a character's point of view, I can accept that point of view. And I mean, there is a certain certain validity to it. You can't just roll over with an intractable enemy. I do have to you do have to stand up for your characters of your your principle. So I mean, this is not a black and white line. I mean, the the enterprise has weapons right to defend themselves. You have to fight to defend yourself. There is there is even a utopian view. You have to take the possibility that somebody is going to come to you, and is going to try to hurt you, and I or libertarian view or whatever it happens to me. I can get it. But this is the same guy who just last episode or the episode before was, you know, we have no right to deal with these people as we see it. We have to you know, I mean. He's willing to take an extreme stand on principle of doing the right thing here. He's taking a position that is or calculating than moral. I mean, yeah, sounds right. I'm not saying he's wrong. But at the same time, it's definitely much darker message. And it's an in the case of you know, if you didn't get it from the silence who are okay? Let's let's compare the two the silence machines that are programmed to behave in a certain way, and that way is to take over and destroy or enslave everything. But there's no black and white. There are they are they are while there is black, and they are black and white evil. There's shades of gray on that what I should say. And so we as the audience could be justified killing them all day long. Because a they're not alive and be their machines programmed to kill us, and you just have to get rid of him. Right. There's no there's no that's very black and white. Issue
