"Formulas here. The Buccaneers have a plus defense when they're healthy. The cowboys haven't faced many good defenses that were healthy. Man coverage. And in the first matchup, dak was QB 33 out of 33 and EPA plus completion percentage over expectation with that formula of the better version of the buck's defense that plays man coverage. You also have to keep your eye on the cowboys starting center, Tyler, who is dealing with an ankle injury, missed last week that caused the cowboys to move the entire left side of their offensive line around their hopeful he can play. I do expect Dallas to show better offensively than in the first matchup and then last week. But it's not this picture perfect Dallas offense that everybody envisions it because dak is not playing overly well right now. He's feeling the pressure. We saw that last week a little bit and they just have not played a schedule of good defenses at all since dak returned. So this is a step up in class as well. And some of their running metrics have actually fallen off as well. You mentioned the injury at center. Some of the film gurus out there saying it looked like dak wasn't nearly as confident with some of his protections there in terms of getting happy feet in the pocket. The other injury that the cowboys have suffered along the offensive line happen a few weeks ago. And the ground game hasn't been nearly as dynamic since they launched Terence Steele. So we talk about offensive lineman for the most part as being interchangeable pieces, but for those folks that pull in one way, shape, or form like a cohesive unit, you break up any of that chemistry there. It can be a real problem even against the Bucs defense to your point. It should be better here despite underperforming, given some health concerns throughout the course of the regular season. Now, obviously, the headliner in this game and like we said in the NFC is going to be Tom Brady. You look at this box offense. It has been anything but an elite unit that's displayed consistency week in week out. I mean, this is a team 21st and third down conversion percentage 22nd in the red zone where they were fourth and 5th respectively over the previous two years. They've also struggled to run the football, averaging an NFL low 76.4 yards per game. It's the second worst among playoff teams ever since 1970. The one thing that Tom Brady's had to deal with is a jumbled up offensive line that hasn't exactly given him the best protection. Thankfully for him and his veteran savvy still gets the ball away

And then on the offensive line, you alluded to, you know, Terrence Steele going out. Josh bell comes in. He struggles, arguably, the biggest reason why one of the biggest reasons why they were able to put together that drive was Jason Peters coming in. Hopefully he can play that well in relief. This is going to be a problem as we look to the playoffs that teams like Philadelphia are ahead of the playoffs in December because those are teams that are capable of hunting mismatches. What are the tape show you about Dax struggles? That he's trying too hard? Because I would tell you that deck has been a guy that has always, for the most part, seen the field really well in cleanly and right now he's not. And it's in very simple things. You're going to see a three step concept day one install. We call this lion double slanted the bottom of the screen. The worst coverage for it is covered three 'cause that flat defender is already outside. In between the outside sling. You never throw the outside slant in that situation, but deck does. For some reason, then this bottom concept is stick up top you have a flat route and a stick route. That outside flat defenders the read. If he goes outside, you throw them high. Excuse me, lo, if you throw, goes, how you throw it low. I mean, that's a very simple first down read for dak all of a sudden, he holds onto the football. That's the fumble, the very next plays that interception that, in many ways, should have ended the game. And I don't know if it's he's pressing or trying to do too much because he knows the offensive line can not pass protected. It's just not a good past protecting unit. Does he feel the lack of production from the perimeter players that sometimes just the production goes down in games? It's really odd to see a guy that is a good player and that has had a strength of just seeing things with such clear vision seem to struggle with seeing very simple things. Yeah, for me, like watching this game a little bit, I was at a ten year volleyball game watching my daughter get busy, but in between, I was thinking it's just such an immature performance. And yeah, we can look at the Dallas cowboy defense and say, the Texans scored 23 points. This defense is to me watching the film is the reason they won the game. Standing up and boring they neck and a lot of situations where they had unfavorable field position because of this offense. Where's the explosiveness? This is exactly what the Dallas Cowboys did towards the end of the season last year from an offensive standpoint. Everybody kept putting graphics and stats up about their number one offense in the league and they gaining all of these yards. This is exactly how they looked when everybody thought that they would get bounced the first week of the playoffs. I thought some way they would have a resurgence. This team and to your point, Dan, it's time for dak to overcome those things. Like you are going to suffer injuries. You're going to have deficiencies this time of the year. The San Francisco forty-niners playing with their third string quarterback right now. You have to overcome it for you got to figure out a way to make this team a little bit more explosive or they'll be home watching it with us again. "This is where we have to get into the background of these guys because first off, you're talking about going from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day to just extendo Christmas. It's only right that for the class of guys that would probably need a seatbelt spender on a plane. We also get an extended version of the holiday for all this. But I want to give the edge here to Terence Steele just because when you look at his background, you see thoroughbred offensive lineman. This isn't to discount what lane Johnson's done, but we got to remember as he came up the ranks. This was a guy that for a while was a quarterback coming up and then a tight end to aid himself into an offensive lineman and you see it in the highlight, the hands still got it. The hands are silky in the spot, Pablo. And also, if we're being honest about lane Johnson and the climbing of the ranks, he couldn't exactly climb up the ranks of the stands, touchdown, Wayne Johnson. The right tackle. Is he gonna get up there, Katie? Can't catch up. Is that all? Is that a leap? I don't know. Which I don't know if that is a positive or a negative in the assessment as this as performance art. Overwhelming positive. None of this is supposed to look perfect. That's the charm. We're not supposed to be here. We're in a realm that we have ascended to, that we have no parts being involved in. With terrance deal for me the part that was endearing was he immediately went to his celebration where he said, I have waited for this moment. And so you don't have that time where you get to touch the ball and you get to go and potentially score and have people cheer for you. You're in the dark shoveling, you know what, so that everyone else can succeed, but we all mess around before practice, go through when wide receivers and quarterbacks go out pre practice to go, we call it pat and go. When they offensive line runs through it, we call it fat and go. And when you have those opportunities, we all try and make our highlight reel catch your toe tap and bounce, never thinking we're actually gonna get to live it. So often we see this stuff and the cowboys and the Terrence deal case fit this description. We see the stuff in the midst of basically celebration already, right? In the midst of blowouts, I feel like the thick 6 as a weapon of NFL warfare. It is kind of used to rub it in the other team's face when you're absolutely just smoking them on offense. I mean, I think of the bills and the chiefs doing this in the playoffs in their wild card games, Mike. They both threw to lineman four touchdowns when they were up real big. What do you make of the thick 6 as a source of humiliation for others? It's the perfect chef's kiss on what was otherwise a perfect meal of the day for these offenses. They can't be overly critical because it's the tv audience. And you know this may be the peyton and eli may really be a one off. It may be only them And even if espn decides to bring in some other people for the seven games they're not gonna cover the season or i guess it's going to be eight total because there payton in er sign up to ten games So at least eight weeks that there will be somebody else for for however many monday night games that are. Because i don't remember. I i guess maybe only have seventeen that gays because there are eighteen but espn has lost. Actually last night there was not the double header on week. One monday night football that we've we've normally seen as they made up for in playoff games just just reading comments here. Mad cat k. -gree agree with rj. Again just these comments. Dj these are facts. That still sore subjects must focus cannot enjoy the game until it's over. I exactly that's how i feel. That's why i won't watch this broadcast but it will be fun to watch because it'll be especially because the cowboys will trounce the and then we'll get to hear like peyton and the advice celebrating. They'd have to find some other teams. It's hard to find a pair like that. But i was thinking. Can you imagine if you had that same format with tony. Romo and sean lee. Is that who you would take. If you if you had to pick like a wing man for tony. You'd pick sean lee. Yeah because i think he's one of those brilliant defensive mines out and i don't think he's charismatic. Though like this we don't have nothing about but at that. That's just a home thing for me but i just hope that we keep at least once a week. We could see something like that because it was inside. It was bred for people that are kind of more into the technical side of it. It was just fun of see that stuff and just absorb things tom. Legend danny phantom wants you to be muted actor. I can have not liking. Eli manning deluca. Ticks is tony romo and daryl johnston. I wouldn't mind that. Daryll scott a level of polish. Tony is great. But tony's like a puppy united. I will watch this live next in two weeks or thirteen days when the cowboys needles play on monday night football that night and some of this is like you know our jobs right like in that game made it difficult to create content out of for the for the teams involved specifically was incredible to watch an impartial fan. And because you're not hearing the play by play get tom. I know you hate every play by play guy in the world. "Continues the way. It's going for them but you know this is somewhat said. I'm a favorably inclined in my judgment of dan quinn so far but you know. It's a very small sample size. We've got to see how they do against the chargers. Now but yes. I'm think it's trending upwards and i'm i'm not unhappy. I don't think we can depend on winning the turnover battle that way But the flipside is cowboys. Didn't lose any fumbles and remember how badly that her last year. So you know. There's two sides to the turnover coin but just speaking about the defense right now. They run more efficiently You know which which means you don't look at what's happening with the new york giants offense and remember back to what we had to suffer through a or you lineup. And you show. Hey we're gonna we're gonna do a halfback dive between the center of the tackle. And that's exactly what you do. That's not what kill more going to do. He's going to be looking for time when okay. Here's where a run mike. Catch them off balance. Or here's what might make sense. "Put the five best guys out there. I think conor mcgovern at this point with collins. I is one of your five best offense alive and i understand. You don't wanna move to different positions. But if you're talking about an all pro right card. A real gamer zack. Martin i right tackle and you put a young khanna mcgovern you know right guard and now you got that offense aligned on this on the right side. There is solidified I feel like a dak prescott affiliate. The offense doesn't really miss a beat in you. Know zach a gamer. I you know i know. He doesn't prefer to be tackled. But he's going to get the job done using. I'm probably do it at a damn near you know pro bowl level. So i if i'm the judge here i kind of agree with tony. But you're impartial here. "A problem I think that it gets the problem that can be fixed. Potentially if you see good things out of him in practice if we're getting him practice if we're getting him game ready. I didn't see that on thursday so kinda remains to be seen and i don't like the unknown so i'm not really happy with it either. Well then. you're not gonna like what's happening right tackle this week. That really is an unknown as much as it is known jerry jones again was on one zero five. Obviously his health has been the far less sustainable one prior to last season. Good for three or four games. Missed a season however lyle collins suspended for five games. We've been there. We've talked about that in at the first opportunity that the cowboys have to rely on a swing tackle. It's not the guy went out and bought in free agency. It's the guy who who tried really hard last season but ultimately failed and so yeah taryn steel at right tackle. Joey bosa is going to be a problem. Tom is this the right decision or should the cowboys have gone with somebody else. If so sometimes you don't necessarily have a great right decision chow. I think this may be. I actually think this is the best option. If i'm brian. "Extra point season back injury at back surgery. He wasn't able to kick as much as he wanted. I asked him how he was feeling how his timing was. And you know look. He didn't seem that confident. Allen chris he just said i'm trying to feel my way a little bit. He didn't kick much games. That all in the preseason so it seemed to me he was just a little bit off and percent confidence more tom. I'm kind of stunned. That michelle to foia would be that frank about greg's airline on the broadcasts last week. God not stunned by frankness. As i am by the coaching staff pushing him out there and knowing that he was in the shape and just going with him and and you know cutting his competition in camp and not having competition. There wasn't there wasn't bill no competition. They just didn't have anybody there in case he wasn't ready to go coming off surgery. I mean of all the the coaching decisions meet so may seem so far this year. This one seems like the worst With the most obvious red flags why this was not the way to go to not be prepared for him to not be one hundred percent for this game. I mean there's a good argued.
