"No one knows what analytic they think. It's like a bunch of nerds doing math, which I don't know. Maybe that's what it is. It's time now for the mother Ship's Advanced Analytics, some curious decision making down the stretch. Some lack of urgency in the play calling in time management led some to believe that maybe the Patriots were okay losing last night. Because it would have meant the Jets are one game out of the driver's seat for Trevor Laurence could come back and haunt him in that division for years. Did you believe that Belichick coach like he was okay, losing last night? Nearly a 50 50 split on Twitter. 53% of you said no. That you felt like Belichick was coaching TTO win. Patriots have now won nine straight games against the Jets. The fourth longest win streak gets an opponent in team history. Belichick 95 32 regular season Get the A C East. 31 10 against the Jets. But the worm is turning. It's over. We give the Patriots dynasty of funeral back in January after they lost to the Titans, but it is officially over because, too is going to be good that dolphins are on the rise. Josh Allen is good. The bills were already here. The Jets going Trevor Laurence. It's gonna be a long time for the Patriots, not to be the worst type of that division seriously. Or at least one of the bottom two Because there's just gonna be three quarterbacks way better than anything that they have more trash is on a trash Tuesday. As Get to the trash is on Twitter. "Here we go. Another edition of I r G physical unhand therapy, Self taught. Thanks for being with us. As always. We got a great lineup of guests scheduled. And, of course in this opening statement. We'd like to talk a little bit about Maybe some health problems might be plaguing you or someone You know, In this case, it's someone I know a zey. Big Big golf fan who was not able to play for three years because of a persistent issue with my foot. I cannot wait to get back out on the course. My best. My best friend was talking about this the other nation and he said. You know, you're gonna be able to get on the courses here. I said. Maybe I said, I just want to play golf so bad he goes. You do play golf so bad. So thanks for the support buddy. Anyway, he was talking about how he'd been playing and it is experiencing some pain in his elbow, and he said, it's really been bugging him, he said. You know, obviously it's impacting his game, and he's not sure whether I should just play through it or It's something that might be something he should take a look at her. Get a doctor to take a look at. So I wantedto run that by you and see what you thought. Yeah. Tom. Hey, thanks for the question and tell your buddy it's all in the slow backswing. Okay, You gotta slow down your back swing right? Here's the deal. You know, I think golf has seen seen some what of a resurgence. I know that I've talked a lot of my golfing friends and even at our course locally, the number of people are golf and I think it's one of those activity can get out and do outdoors with social distancing in this time of this pandemic. So here's the deal. I think what's going on is your buddy is probably experiencing what we would probably call golfers Elbow Okay. Golfers Elbow verse tennis elbow. Let's talk about the two tennis elbow is what we call a lateral epic Connell itis. That is an irritation of the attachment where the form extensive or the muscles on the toppy arm. Attached to the lateral or outside of your elbow. That attachment point sometimes becomes inflamed, and we call that tennis elbow or lateral and McConnell itis, conversely, on the inside of the Elbe, where your flexor tendons or the muscles on your flexors side or underneath are the underside of your form attached on that media up candle. That is what we call media. McConnell itis and its hence golfers elbow and the reason it happens is a lot of times with the swing and contacting the ball or the ground. If you hit the ground like I do a lot of that force from the head of the club up to the club through your form, kind of transmits and pulls on that flexor tendon attachment. On that bump. You can feel that bump on the inside of your elbow in if you're tender there when you palpate or touch it, you've probably developed a little bit of what we call Media Lepic Candle itis. It's an inflammation overuse. Kind of micro tears in that tennis attachment on that bone, and it creates that inflammation and that is going to produce pain with mostly activity and sometimes, like I said, You could touch that area and you need to be careful with this stuff because you want to take care of. This is one of those overuse kind of chronic type situations that have not handled right initially. It can linger and it can linger and cause problems. So you want to take care of it right away with some good stretching exercises. You know, most golfers I noticed when I'm at the club. We just get out of their car grabs your bag hits the course. There's no stretching and preparation you need to prepare. You need to stretch and condition those tendons and those muscles to be stretched and pulled in torque, etcetera, etcetera. So I would start some stretching exercises. I would definitely start icing that is a nice area to use a nice massage. Freeze A little Dixie Cup er yogurt cup with a nice chunk and just ice massage that area. For 70 minutes, right over that tender spot, And that should take care of it with probably a little bit of strengthening, but just caution, right? Just take it easy, You know, Does that make sense? Absolutely. Yeah. I think it makes a lot of sense in your right. A lot of people just run out of the car late for the tee time, throwing their, you know, bag over the shoulder and put their golf shoes on and Oh, you're up, you know, and you already hit and right, even seeing a lot of courses. It even offer massages on the practice Tee, so people are getting really kind of nice and loose. And you know, it's a little bit of more of a luxury then maybe you need but, yeah, Preparing ahead of time is definitely a key. So Thank you. Yeah, thanks for the advice on that. And now, if now, if you could tell us howto fix a slice, then we'll really be in good shape. But I don't expect that kind of advice here on this show, but make sure you do prepare before you get out on the course. Our first guest today is going to be Hazel Borden's,.

The NASDAQ hit a new intraday high dipped and then turn back into the plus column as the Dow rallies another 300 points. The SNP now positive for the year, the dial in gear on the upside after IBM delivered better than expected earnings after the clothes. We also saw a huge relief and stimulus package out of Europe overnight, which made total as much as $2 trillion so overseas markets up sharply. Asia rally as well. An individual stocks delivering better than expected earnings, all helping the tone on Wall Street, along with positive vaccine data we've seen the last few days continues to push this market higher big cap stocks in the technology and biotech sector still working and driving the NASDAQ up this morning as it again is back in record high territory. Also a huge rally in gold and silver this morning. Gold is only about $50 away now. From an all time closing high. Remarkably, interest rates are moving slightly lower. The yield on the 10 year Treasury 100.60% the dollar a little weaker against key foreign currencies, which is propping up things like gold and silver, which are rallying again to multiyear highs. "He's a sports medicine physician would baptize health when we left the brake. You know, I want to talk about something I remember a couple of years ago, all pro safety Troy Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers had I guess it was a shoulder injury. And He opted not for surgery, but he had something called platelet rich plasma treatment. So tell me a little bit about what's going on now. Yes, he did. So P r P is pretty need. It is really fascinating Medicine. My opinion, PR piece your own body. It's it's your own blood. It's not really medication. Um what we understood it. It was it was invented if you will in the seventies in the seventies and eighties. Ah, we used it a ton at the horse track. Believe it or not, is where it kind of got a foothold in veterinary medicine. Um what P r P is is we take your blood spin it down in the century. You get out all of the blood cells and keep the platelets were we've known and understood about platelets is that with a super high concentration higher than normal blood volume if we increase those playlists Take a very small amount of volume, but a very highly concentrated on the platelets and re inject that into an area that brings with it all of the growth factors and the healing potential of the blood. So basically, what we're doing is finding an understanding of pathology. Taking your blood from you spending it down to get the growth factors out and putting, taking the healing course of the blood and putting it into your muscle tear or your attendant hair. The ligament that you turn your knee. Very directed usually under under old town guidance, so I can see where I'm going. What I'm doing. But we're using that. Healing potential of your own body to heal itself. It's really neat medicine. Is this as effective is surgical repair? And how long does it take for you Get back Which one gets you back quicker the surgery or using the P R p That's a very tricky question, because I would never tell you that in and I completely tourney muscle case that putting P r P. There's going to hell in a hand. In its entirety. Um, if you have biceps tendon tear that slingshot like a rubber band and retracted down into your lower arm. There's no way possible I could ever inject a small amount of blood that would stretch back out up to your shoulder again and re grow, though. In certain cases. There's absolutely no question that surgical intervention is 100% warranted the ones general defence the partial muscle tears that are really painful and tender. At the moment attached in still works. Those things were kind of where P r P fits in. Um, your tennis elbow or you have a really significant pain out on the lateral aspect of outer portion. The elbow from the extensive tendon there come the conjoined sensor turn in that inserts there. Ah, we've learned that one of the ones that have phenomenal numbers and actually what? You really well. Towards what PR Pekan Dio because it's not a complete tear of the muscle. But it's AH, partially tourney, irritated, afraid, tendon that we can get to hell. Now. Is this the same thing as using stem cells? Or was that a different area completely? Sort of Themselves were thought themselves were thought initially to be Ah progenitor cell Precursor cell that when you are a Winking your dad's eye when users are being built. There's a cell that can differentiate turn into anything in your body. So we thought, Oh, that we really need If we take one of those cells and put it in your knee, and it would magically grow into cartilage and grow back into your knee. Phenomenal, right, really Cool thought process. That's really not what it does at all. Ah stem cells are simply hire and concentration than the platelets that we're talking about right now. Of the growth factors and healing potential, so they don't turn into new cells or regrow anything like we're talking about growing. Years on rats and all this crazy stuff. That's not what the new age of stem cell regenerative medicine is about. It's actually about getting kind of laughed knowing that healing potential that we've already discussed Ah and Whether we take it out of a peripheral, vain and get it from your blood, which is a decent, decently concentrated area or take it from, say, your hip bone where you make a blood cells, which is very high and stem cell percentage. Those concentrations of that healing potential is much higher so that In and of itself is even better than P R P. But if it doesn't it's not magic. You know what I mean? Yeah, Yeah, It's not what you thought it wass. But still, that plasma bridge plan of the platelet rich plasma is still something that is effective in this part of your armamentarium for treating someone Right now. Absolutely that that and stem cells boat so we can do Ah. Simpson harvest from your iliac crest from your hip bone instead of doing the blood draw from your arm and those those concentrations of growth factors or even higher, so both of those things where potential options and kind of tool in the tool belt right now helping with injuries. All right, one of the other things again driven by professional athletes and our college athletes. Everyone wants to take nutritional supplements some people just so they can gain weight. Others just trying to build muscle mass. Is there a point? Let's just take it through groups Tell me about Thie. Is there an age where people can start using supplements in order to try to increase muscle Mass. And what are some of the things that you would recommend in that state of 14 15 year old versus the 17 year old versus the college kid? Then as we get older Sure, um, Go, and in our young athlete, there's not a whole lot of supplementation that's really needed with a balanced diet. There are a few exceptions there. Um and young athletes vitamin D. If you're not getting enough sun, especially in the wintertime when you're not.

It was a small study, but very positive showing that cyclist improved their trial time by two minutes. In a 20 kilometer bike race means that's a meaningful improvement in a race like this, and the researchers said that they also burned fat more efficiently, which makes sense based on the research. "That prolotherapy is good for so one of the most common tendon injuries is called tennis elbow and another term for it. The the medical term is. Is lateral Ethicon delighted or lateral Ethicon to low ses. The reason it has hurt that term is because the tendon inserts right on the segment of bone in the arm called the lateral up Kondile and that tendon where that bone inserts is very vulnerable to increase pressure. And so when someone gets an injury to the latter up a condo and that tendon, it's very slow to heal. And there are people try physical therapy. And physical therapy is great for muscles. But and it's very good for strengthening muscles and getting muscles more flexible. But once that injury sets in once the applicant islands resets in. Then it leads to a problem. And that problem is that the EPA Kondile and the tendon it's hard to stretch them out. So they. It's really hard to to stretch that tendon because again muscles stretch, they're nice soft and flexible and pliable, but tendons are difficult to stretch. And so ten injuries are difficult to cure or resolve through physical therapy. Sometimes they get better. Because once you take the pressure off the muscle that relieves the pressure on the tendon. But it doesn't always work. Well, that way another treatment is is an injection, and what I strongly discourage you to get in that area's steroid injection. I know it's commonly done, and it can give you pain relief. But it's not fixing the problem. And the problem is a weakened tendon, and the problem with steroids is you can't have too many of them and one of the reasons you can't have too many of them because they weaken tendons they weekend. And if you take too many of them you're going to put someone at risk for a tendon for the tendon, tearing a rupturing. So that's not a good idea. So they say you should do more than three well if three or causing damage or? To the tendons. Welsh chances are one maybe also be causing damage to the tendons. So again, it's something to avoid. In fact, what's interesting is they have found that people who had eventually went onto surgery for tennis elbow that. If they had steroid injections previously prior to the surgery, they didn't do as well after the surgery, and that's I think it's because they've weakened the tendon somewhat with the steroid injection. And so what I recommend. And I'm gonna help you avoid surgery for that. And the way I'm gonna help you avoid surgery for that is with doing an injection of prolotherapy. And what does prolotherapy? Do prolotherapy is going to strengthen that tend in. And that's what you wanna be doing. You wanna be strengthening the tendon and prolotherapy is a great way to do that. So we look without your sound. We see where the weakening of the tendon occurs. And we placed the prolotherapy set solution. Right. Where the week. Intendant is. And then all of a sudden that tendon is starting to get stronger. It may happen in a couple of treatments that may happen in three or four treatments. But when it gets stronger that tendon is going to be a lot better. And you're gonna feel a lot better. So prolotherapy is a great way to strengthen tendons strength, and what's also interesting about tennis Abba. And this is one of the great things about prolotherapy is prolotherapy is not just a quick shot. Right. Where the pain is pro with prolotherapy. We look at the much broader picture of what's going on mechanically with the elbow, and what's going on mechanically with that tendon, and what many times that we find is that the ligaments around the elbow or a little lax a weekend and. It's that lacks weakened ligament that makes that that elbow tendon the on the EPA Kondile more susceptible to injury. Because if the ligaments are weak, and there's a little more play in the joint, not necessarily instability. But just not the joint is not as stable and solid as we'd like it to be then the stress on the tendons increases because they have to do more work. If there's an unstable or lacks joint that's bending or moving so that also puts you at risk for tennis elbow. So the best way to approach that with prolotherapy is to treat both the tendon of the EPA Kondile area and the ligaments around the elbow joint that are weekend and by doing that you strengthen the ligaments, and you take care of the underlying cause of the problem. And again, this leads to long term healing. And that's what my patients love about prolotherapy. Is they get long-term healing again. This is Dr warrants Slayton, amac, the regenerative healing center right in the heart of Ridgewood, New Jersey, and you can reach me at the office at two oh, one eight eight.

"And traffic station. You know? Here's the sad thing about the disgraced congressman Weiner. Yes. Out of the Massachusetts big house. Somebody is going to dig this guy like for what he did like, he's a bad boy. You know, because he's still going to send pictures, hopefully, it won't be too young. People that are under age. Well, he's he's described in one story here as a serial sex ter-. Yeah. Yeah. It's like. You get the feeling this guy. He's fifty four years old for something tells me, even when he's on, Medicaid, Medicare and social security. He may still be doing that. He's just I don't know why they have shows on TV now where inmates get out of prison and Mary their pin pals. So I mean had right? Out of the realm of possibility that I guess Mr. Weiner could show up on this show. He's got a, oh, that's what he's gonna get. He's going to get a cable show. It's going to be on a and it will be on Weiner because it has to be edge. It has to be an edgy title. So that's that's where TV is. Okay. Giovanetti and Dwight right now, I'm not I'm just saying that's what he would have. I'm not going to go with suggestions. I'm just saying it will have to be some names is a suggestion and nobody can help that. I'm sorry. If you're over here. Not you if the people are here is wrong. I mean, the thing is when you have a name like that. Yes. And you choose to do the things he did. You're just asking for gosh. No doubt. All right. A new study out of Harvard found that the best side of whether your heart. Our heart mine Willie Scott. All man is healthier. Not okay is whether you can bang out at least forty push ups in a row, I'm dead. Well, I I don't know if I can't cause of tennis elbow right now. I think it could elbow. I do when's the last time you played tennis. It's not that it's from doing some weightlifting. Thank you very much. I dispute that to dispute it. I mean, you know. I can do about thirty five for sure in a row when I'm in optimal conditions. Yes. I really don't try to do forty. I'd do thirty five. And then I get up. You know, try some later said, you know, how I see I push ups, I see high school algebra. I don't have to use them in the everyday execution of my life. If you can do forty in a row Willie Scotty, you'll the odds of a heart attack stroke or heart disease or ninety six percent lower than average means you're tickers working, really, really. Well. Okay. Well, that's what the, you know. Well, sounds like I'm a fat attack waiting. It's a marker of general. Physical. I don't want, you know. I know my own health. So if we have any, you know, wives out there right now to say just tell you do demand out till he can be fit for it. With his heart. All right. And also, we've got one more thing since a lot of people are making toast right now. Toast is good for came out. The your toasters releasing some toxins stuff that can kill you. As soon as you push the button down to start sending toxic particles into the air, which then linger in the room and end up in your lungs. Why do people have to ruin good things toast is good? It's not the toast. It's the toast air. It also happens with other things that produced trace amounts of toxins like candles, air, purifiers and cleaning products air purifiers are actually bad for us. Now, I guess but toasters are worse because they released more fine particles into set air, according to the World Health Organization ideal amount is less than twenty five micrograms per cubic, meter of air Wilding, what that is making toast can easily increase that number of particulates to three hundred micrograms. And if you like your toast, burn it's more like three thousand. So does it say what the particles are? No. If you can't even tell me what my toaster is trying to kill me. Then I'm not with that. Well, I probably could even if I could see it. I probably couldn't read it. It's probably a bunch long word dollar word. They say don't toast. You're toast, quite as much an open a window or turn on a fan. I don't know if this carbons or something like that maybe from smoke if you really on metal. Yes. Metal shavings or something that are heating up. I don't know. I don't either. Yeah. I've eaten a lot of toast. I guess the between not being able to do push ups, and my toaster plotting to kill me. I don't have much time left. We're here to save the American people and NewsRadio eight forty W H A S held issues. One of those.

"So I don't know really. Well, the only reason I don't blame weightlifting. It's a joint thing. So I don't know. The way to get rid of that. So that's what you questions for you. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I mean, the book the books can help you out Jason this is going to lay a good foundation for you to see exactly kind of where you are with your health. It'll teach you a lot more than anything about. What health really is what you'll be looking to achieve everything from his to how to read your own blood tests to what health really is how the body works in a very layman format very easy to understand format. And so I I would encourage you to get that. But the anti-inflammatory. Yes, I do think you should do that. Don't try it. I don't like to try try to and really mean anything either do or you don't like what Yoda said and Star Wars to do or do not it's the truth. And so trying these you might or might not doing means you either will or won't. And so that's that's a better approach to take. When it comes to your health can like you. They're going to lose the weight or you're not either going to eat well, or you're not going to exercise today or not. So that's that's where I'll start with you. Now, the fish oil probiotic thing, you need to get things. All of those separate first of all don't ever do a capsule form of an omega three fats, not gonna work. Very well. It turns into trans fat once they break it down and heat it into a capsule form or gel cap. Not a big fan of that provide IX, you always want to higher potency, you're going to need to take those by themselves nowadays two to four in the morning on empty stomach two to four in the evening on empty stomach as well as a tablespoon of cod liver oil daily cod liver oil in the oil form, especially cod liver oil is one of the best versions, and that's what I would stick with only because you're gonna get the highest absorption rate, and you're going to get the full benefit of the mega three fatty acids, which is what you're looking for probiotics. The same thing. I would do a whole food multi vitamin and digestive enzymes, so those are the four basic for the foundational force what I call them. And those will get you going where you need to be as far as your health goes now dropping the extra weight. You know, the tennis elbow thing that you mentioned I would there's a couple of things in the health triangle, which is what we use the natural medicine. It's kind of the whole body approach to healthcare. You're looking at the person's whole body. So there's three sides. There's the mental side that your brain chemistry, the neurotransmitters and the subconscious mind, then you've got the chemical side. And that's how your body takes the foods that you eat every single day turns them in neither good sales are bad cells. How the physiology of the body works, and then the structural side bones muscles and nerves and all the acupuncture, murnian points. So you look at all three of those same time simultaneously, and you're gonna continue to look at the whole body and figure out what's going on with someone. So having more of a tennis elbow type issue can be several things what I would use. I'll have someone that's more of an expert in the structural side of the body. Look at that someone that's either a DO, which is an osteopathic physician or DC, which is a chiropractic physician. And now physical therapists have been doing a lot of structural type work you can see as well. So any of those three categories would work well for the shoulder, but don't rule out the component of inflammation in the body. See when the bodies. Flamed in the digestive track. It can be inflamed anywhere else. Whether you're dealing with fibromyalgia arthritis, or any type of tendinitis or anything like that. So that's probably what you're dealing with so eliminating inflammation in the digestive tract eating the right kinds of foods is where you need to be. And that'll get you started just by getting started the anti inflammatory diet in the book. That's going to be a great foundation for you. And we'll get you where you need to be. So just get started with that foundational four and have one of those physicians. Look at your elbow to make sure that maybe he's a little on the elbow, which is the part of the all now, which is one of the the four bones. You know, it could have just it could be out of place the radius could be out of place, and it could be there could be several things going on someone needs to get their hands on it. And look at it. Maybe do some X rays decent films. And and do some diagnostic testing would do wonders for you. But that's right. You started in and they'll try.
