"And so the idea this is being treated as an act of terrorism going forward And a lot of people felt that was the case But federal prosecutor now is going to have to really work very hard over the next several days to fill in the gaps Answer some of the questions about the and the idea this is going to take weeks and months That's really weeks and months to build the case that they can then take this individual to trial But in reality it's over They have no sense that he was working in conjunction with anybody else And so this is now effectively building a case that we are going to see he's been apprehended Absolutely I think we all a sigh of relief there What's the biggest question you have or you would have certainly for him at this point That's a idea of what was his overall intention We saw some of his actions but was that all he was intending to do for example he had other incendiary devices in that bag What was the intended to do with those He had several more clips of those extended magazines with 30 rounds in each magazine In some respects that may have caused the second magazine to jam because he shot the first 30 shots are so fast that the weapon basically the second clip went in effectively competed in GM to commissioner value We only have about 30 seconds left with you So I want to make sure to get this question How important is it that the MTA makes sure they have functioning cameras throughout New York City's transportation system Functioning cameras that can also be shared with the law enforcement authorities that these cameras are great but if they're not able to basically and sense the worked with every other canvas system in the law enforcement has it functionality is limited to strictly operational aspects and not law enforcement aspects All right we're going to leave it on that note Commissioner Bratton thank you so much Really appreciate your time Of course former New York Police department police commissioner Bill Bratton holding senior positions again as we mentioned in New York of course Boston and Los Angeles as well And we appreciate him joining us via Zoom executive chairman by the way of risk adviser at teneo We've often "The LAPD He spent nearly 50 years in law enforcement He's now executive chairman of risk at teneo commissioner Bratton It sounds like there's a big challenge ahead for district district attorneys A big challenge ahead for police officers and police chiefs around the country If you were advising politicians right now because you did say blame the politicians for the rise the increase in crime that we've seen around the country what would you advise them to do What's the delicate line that they need or the delicate needle that they need to thread when it comes to building that trust up with the community what the same time empowering their officers to keep crime off the streets What I would suggest is watch what Eric Adams the mayor of New York is up to in the sense of he's trying to do He is moved from the left to center in terms of trying to get more people onto common ground from the progressive left from the center right And the advice to any of these mayors is this idea that to control crime you need the police but you need police to please compassionately consistently saying a white neighborhood is black neighborhoods and constitutionally legally And so their role is to ensure that their police departments operate in a transparent manner And engaged in constitutional policing And we have been able to do that now than ever Body cameras we have a lot more to be an oversight We have better train police offices But we are dealing with a legacy of historic tension between police and minority communities But in New York City the irony was 2018 the safest year in the history of our city that the geo population in New York which was largely a minority population had been reduced from 22,000 over peak course in 20 years to about an average of 5000 in a state prison population was down by about 40% So that we had been able to control crime so dramatically that we effectively changed the behavior of a lot of people that they remained law abiding They didn't break the law They didn't evade the fear They weren't in the times when marijuana was not legal They weren't smoking marijuana in public So a lot of the minor type crime that got so many in trouble that this is what the progressive left is trying to change the enforcement practices but there are some people in that population if you will of those who are inclined to not obey the rules that you have to punish you can not let people keep getting away and never pay in the field doing what they want to do at any time of the day and night It's not how democracy works So we've engaged in a very interesting debate and dilemma at the moment And I look at the state the skills of justice the symbol of justice in America The scales right now would ship very heavily in favor of the reforms of the progressive left Well enchanted some needed but too far And what we have as a result is this growing fear of crime is growing actual amount of crime as evidence in almost every major American city Good news is that's what we're facing in 1990 I'm informed by history I lived it And I know how it changed And the good news is with leadership like Eric is trying to provide based on his knowledge of history maybe we can change it again but it's going to take a lot of people kind of coming to send from the it's kind of like the troops in World War I getting out of the trenches and coming in at no man's land and trying to kill each other Commissioner Bratton one thing I want to ask you is you have had senior positions as we said in New York Boston LA you have seen a lot of crisis situations and having to bring together different constituents What can you tell us about the process right now of what's going on We know a certain amount of information a lot came out of that briefing just a couple of hours ago And yet officials are still telling us that it might be weeks before we know a lot a lot more What kind of questioning is going on Tell us a little bit of what's going on behind the scenes Relative to the specifics of yesterday shooting incidents in the press conference of his hello The building of the prosecution case now begins the gathering of huge amounts of evidence the interviewing of hundreds of witnesses and victims miles upon miles of video that will be going through questioning hopefully of the suspect in the sense that he will lawyer up And that loyal adviser about to say anything is whether he chooses to or not as people would love to understand a little more about motivation other than just a social media post Issue of concern here in terms of the ability to prosecute him is he mentally sound to prosecute or is he so emotionally unstable that they determine that he can't be held to be Schwartz both his actions There's also the issue that the federal government has now taken over the case under the terrorism statute.

West Lafayette Purdue takes it all Team coverage That's right now Mary's chocolate chip Not quite Let's get to Bloomberg Maria teneo in Brussels Marie I want to start with a comment we heard from the Kremlin this morning Go through the mentality haven't Poland they are Well Jonathan is so difficult to decipher when we are at this stage The Kremlin now saying that there could be an option of neutrality Remember this is the buzzword We've heard this repeatedly for the past two weeks It means Ukraine does not enter a military alliance with NATO would stay neutral in the case of conflict but of course there are many details around it that would be pending Would they keep an army Would they have to pledge additional concessions to Russia Remember the Russians that you say neutrality could work but they also keep using this word dean at the country being a Nazi by the way in Russia is a very very serious insult They're really trying to dehumanize the other side of the talks here But again it's very difficult to figure out what's going on here because neutrality can mean anything and everything When you speak to the Ukrainians that tell you yeah that is an option but it would need very serious security guarantees And this is not just about Russia It would be a brown every neighbor around Ukraine but also countries like the United States and the European Union would have to agree on it The one thing I would note however is that the two sides over the past 24 hours have made it clear that the positions are becoming more realistic but also a major reality check for the Ukrainian government now singing openly explicitly NATO is probably not an option for the country Maria got 18 questions on the military on the map on this war but let me go to you for a Bloomberg question Are the sanctions are the financial pressure are the most favored nation pull away from Russia Is it working Well when it comes to the European air response to that and it was only announced yesterday so Thomas essentially we're talking about 24 hours in which the European Union through the WTO pulled out the most favored nation status This is repeated with the United States did last week but when I speak to European finance ministers and I had conversations yesterday with the German finance minister mister lindner I also had a conversation with America They do say their work and the pressure is on and Russia's standing very close to potentially a default So they do feel the pressure on the economic front is there but the problem is Thomas you know for the Russian government this is not an economic story This is existential This is about Ukraine and it's about Russia It's a political story for them in ways that many in the west probably don't even understand for the Russians This is not just about an economic crisis as a fundamental question about whether or not Ukraine belongs in the Russian Federation and for the Ukrainians is precisely about breaking free from the Russian Federation Anne Marie just quickly here how much has this become a politicized issue in Washington D.C. with some Republicans coming out and saying that the Democrats are not going hard enough not supplying enough ammunition not necessarily providing enough support to Ukraine I think you'll see a lot of that today when we hear from president zelensky 'cause he's really going to implore lawmakers to do more with setting up either a no fly zone which by the way that has bipartisan support in terms of not doing that There's a lot of Republicans who agree with the administration that can be very much so an escalatory response but when it comes to Polish fighter jets or any sort of jets from a NATO country getting over to Ukraine many Republicans think this is something that should be delivered that they should take this advice on from president zelensky He knows on the ground what is needed and you had senator McConnell yesterday in a speech on the floor of the Senate minority leader talking about the fact that he thinks the administration has been a bit hesitant on this and dragging its feet So potentially I think president zelensky is really going to put the Biden administration in a very difficult place today and almost immediately after he speaks this morning President Biden is also going to speak and talk about the military aid the U.S. is sending I am age Thank you with Maria today On that important conversation Tom did we ever find out why facilitating the transfer of megs to Ukraine was considered an escalation Did we ever get a full explanation of that John I don't know The full explanation is simple and I thought Gregg villier captured it perfectly this morning It's a moment the emotion we're going to see at 9 o'clock at 9 20 this morning will be extraordinary and the adult in the room is at 1600 Pennsylvania avenue and he has one thing on his mind and that is nuclear weapons and the deterrent forces on both sides The issue I have now later is that once you've established defined it as an escalation then ultimately can you go through with it But the problem right Right it's a self fulfilling prophecy How can they now say okay we can supply those aircraft But now it's not an escalation How do they determine that And how do they basically frame that to the Kremlin It's almost self imposed Futures at 1.2% on the S&P on the NASDAQ count by 1.75 yields on tens to 16 Your fed decision just around a corner This is Bloomberg.

Five hundred company When she was the top person xerox where she worked until twenty sixteen An it centre. I i saw this. I saw business story in the new york. Post this morning that Interviewed a few people on background. Who seem to be today. Oh insiders close observers. Sort of saying that. So sort of saying the kelly. Well you know. She's kelly's person and he he's pursing sort of like pushing her in the door here. Sorts sort of keep his fingerprints on everything. And i just thought that was a bit ridiculous because she ran xerox which which is a bigger company for a long time and she's certainly qualified to run a company and and to deal with crises You know we'll get the nuts and bolts you now a consultant or corporate communications. Pr elements of it. Maybe not but you'll have people that will so i don't know that was just the one point commentary. I wanted to make a better says. She's clearly an established business person in her own right and not somebody else's puppet in the role. Yeah it's interesting. I loved about this last weekend to check that out Got a lot of Left to know people think of it. But it's nice worth noting in april declan. Kelly actually set up a private equity firm with us burns. Who are the partners. Tooled integrum so Specializing in tech services investment. So it'll be interesting to see what happens with that venture and Interestingly integral is the latin word for reinstatement. So i don't know what that souls lay to do when i mean when you're a company that is all about advising ceo's and high level corporate reputation it doesn't really it's not a good look as it when the ceo himself is is found to be lacking in that respect the and they become. "It's an anti-poverty cherry. Charity called global citizen and in may there was a party that he attended in california and i guess acted inappropriately at this party towards women. And you know this. This came out and eventually to now and kelly had to part ways so on tuesday last week said that kelly was stepping down as the ceo. And this is what the company said in the statement. The teneo board of directors regrets to announce the decline. Kelly has advised of his decision to resign from his role as the company's chairman and c e o now apparently at this event in california. He was drunk at this party and acted inappropriately with a number of women. And you know. Apparently a lot of this behavior included the nonconsensual touching of a number of women. According to the financial times page six you'll be familiar with new york was was obviously all over this story. And you know what kelly put out a statement and you and i you know. I love going through these. I know you love commenting on these. Especially when we're dealing with men who kinda got caught of acting inappropriately acting you know in a way that is not at all tolerated especially in big big companies. Here's what his statement said on may second. I made an inadvertent public and embarrassing mistake for which i took full responsibility and apologize to those directly affected as well as my colleagues and clients a campaign against the reputation of our firm has followed and may even continue in the coming days however regardless of the veracity of any such matters. I do not want them to be an ongoing distraction to the running of our company in order to protect the employees of and its clients and with my family's strong support. I have decided to leave the company and resign as chairman and ceo. I'm going to skip toward the end here. Ewan here's the last bit of his his his note. Over the recent days. I've received countless messages of support from my colleagues clients public figures and people who know me well both personally and professionally their support entrust is what counts the most. I will forever be grateful to all any thoughts on his statement. Yeah i don't. I don't like this statement cam. I'm sure you're probably not surprised. Not surprised to hear that i mean here's an here's my concern with it. He opens right with the on. May second i made inadvertent inadvertent public embarrassing mistake for which i took full responsibility. Apologize to those directly affected so first of all. He's not actually in his statement. He's already. I apologize to those people that are in concern. I don't need to apologize further. I also don't like the fact that he calls it an inadvertent an embarrassing mistake you know. What drunken misconduct at a party. As an executive that's a lot more than inadvertent public and in an embarrassing mistake so he doesn't. he's not using the right language to own up to it. And then the rest of the statement is really just some sort of almost attempt to fall on the sword for the benefit of the company to protect the brand. The company and again doesn't speak to the actual misconduct and you know. look him. this is always the christmas episode of the show. Inevitably every year will be about the holiday parties. We've talked about this before. Don't drink at these events.

I said for those of you who weren't around because maybe you were listening to the brewer game and what a bizarro game that was. Cubs scored seven runs on the top of the first and get killed. 15 to 7 by Milwaukee. Uh That I had four examples of Points that We conservatives have been making or maybe that I've been making That we get either further evidence of or simply conclusively prove them. Here's the third story. There's an outfit called Teneo Holdings. It's a global consulting firm. You know these big corporations they want to hire an expert to tell them how to handle this sad of the other thing. There's 345 of these companies that are just huge that are into that line of work. And Penny. Oh, is one of the go to corporations. It has major clients, Coca Cola, General Electric and so odd. And the thing that it specializes it. Is dealing with issues of diversity, workplace culture, et cetera. They train corporations and how to set him put in place policies. To create Enlightened workplaces. They put on clinics in this regard. The CEO of Teneo. Is a guy named Paul Kelly. Declan Kelly. I'm sorry, Declan Kelly is the head of Teneo. And he came from all the right places. Let me quote his bio from The Wall Street Journal, formerly a newspaper reporter, Kelly moved into public relations that are the rank in the 19 nineties. He was an executive of public relations firms let a management buyout of one of them before making a move into politics. He was a top fundraiser for Hillary Clinton's 2000 and eight presidential campaign in 2000 and nine, Kelly was appointed special envoy in Northern Ireland by Mrs Clinton, who was then US secretary of State. He co founded Teneo in 2011 with former Clinton White House official Doug Band. So you got every lefty name and every lefty connection here add the type of consulting that they do is you know all these companies they need to bring in some enlightened left east to tell us how we can make sure we're diverse. How we can make sure that women are comfortable etcetera. Well, there was a recent event being held by an organization called Global Citizen. Our company has dealt business done business with them. Global Citizen is one of those organizations. It's exactly what you think It is how we need to all work together as citizens of the planet and look beyond nationalism and look beyond these concepts to all be wonderful, enlightened great citizens of the planet. In other words, lefty crapola. So here you've got the head of Kenny. Oh, this big time lefty consulting firm hanging around with a bunch of other lefties at the Global Citizen Summit. So everybody involved here is a politically correct highfalutin lefty. What have I been telling you? Forever and ever and ever and ever, really, ever since the Weinstein thing came down That while I don't believe that being a lefty makes you likelier to be a pig or an inappropriate person, I believe that being a lefty leads you to think that you can get away with being a peregrine. Inappropriate person. You take some right winger who's a pig and a latch it up. Pretty much knows. You still can't get away with it if you're caught doing it. Let's imagine I was a pig and a letch. I'm a pig and election. I act like a pig to let my career is over. But see. Met lower and Harvey Weinstein and those they don't think that way. They think the rules don't apply to them because they're in height, enlightened liberals. So remember what this event is? The Teneo is the company that pushes diversity in the workplace is paid tens of thousands hundreds of thousands millions of dollars of a major corporations to tell them how to do this, And he's at the Global citizen Initiative, which is a bunch of lefties who are all put save the world. Save the planet. Look beyond trump all that crap. The CEO of Teneo Declan Kelly, who, as I said, founded the company with Doug Band and who cut his teeth on the Hillary Clinton campaign basic how often she's coming up at today's program, isn't it? Well at the Global Citizen Initiative. This guy who is the head of Teneo. Declan Kelly starts to drink. Do you think this story is going? Take a guess. After drinking you can't imagine. Remember what he is. He's a guy diversity in the workplace how to treat women in the workplace. All these lefties are here, etcetera, hoity 20. He started making passes. Yeah, he started making passes. Nothing, Mr Get a hard to treat people in the workplace, respect everybody's rights and liberties and all of this stuff Lefty with a bunch of lefties. He's drinking a little bit, Paul says You're right. He started to make passes. Oh, he started to make passes And they started is the key word because then, according to the Wall Street Journal, he moved from making passes throughout and now groping and kissing and doing all sorts of inappropriate things with other people at this event and since, said he has apologized like great Easy and has vowed. What do you think he's vowed never to do again. Said he will never in his life again. Do what Bad. Drink. Okay? He has now resigned as the CEO of Tonio again. I am not claiming that only liberals are slide balls. What I have been telling you forever. Is that liberals think that they can get away with being slime balls because of the double standards. It's in place that allows them to excoriate and eviscerates those of us on the right for anything we do, but they believe that they have a free pass. And I'm sure my guess is this isn't the first time he got blasted is that to grab it up women so forth and so on, But he did it with the wrong bunch of people this time around, and it came back to bite him in the But given the fact that it's very hard for somebody to be the CEO of a consulting firm that tells you how to treat women with people. Appropriately in the workplace. When you're out there getting drunk and grabbing people up at a social event like this. I've got one more example of and I told you so that we'll do a little bit later on in the program, But I want to move now. First to this story. There's a guy named if you don't know this name listen to would have committed to memory.

But they don't know but the fact that that right now as of today, this person called Lisa page. The name Lisa page now being floated out there as another female victim poor victim of of Donald trump will. Why are they floating? Around is a victim because in one week all the crops about to come out who this person what she's done. Article, saying that according to the post, which will from sure in a row trustworthy that that that attorney general bar is disagreeing with the key findings of the. Report okay supposedly that he's in conflict with the key finding now whether that's true I, don't know I doubt it. Because Washington Post said so, but they're already trying to discredit and so confusion into what's going to happen next week so now now, of course you're talking about Teneo and I. Get all that this old stuff needs to be all needs to come out, but there's two parts to this. Earning the I is is that you have to one of the problems with us? As Libertarians especially were so immersed in this, it's hard for focus on one area. Trump is very good at focusing especially when it comes up with the name why why sleepy Joe, right or low energy. It's the idea that you can boil it down to a main medium or a main issue today. Probably many of us do get distracted because these things are complex, but trump can fought filing downs of the main point. Yes, we may not get. On the first round, Ernie, but for God's sake within three years. This president who had no one said could even win including you. Resolve a sudden hope constructing the media now we're having a discussion of how the deep state is working. We're seeing the deep state out there. Who are they saying this to wire they say what what are they waiting on? You know what what's for her to get elected president. The idea for the firm came about a couple of you before the firm got its official starting eleven at its inception to NATO embraced its ties to the democratic establishment. Mr Clinton joined Teneo. It was honorary chairman. Although he left in twelve abidine one Mrs Clinton's longtime aides worked at Teneo for a few months while simultaneously Taniwha holding a job in the State Department. And when Mrs Clinton was Secretary of State so Teneo and the State Department are the same thing just like like Google. I mean they are State Department. This is all google stuff often the youtube and everything it starts to make more sense if you look at the article he was Newsweek. Has Julian assange before you went into the Ecuadorian. Embassy was in the United Kingdom and met with Eric Schmidt Eric Schmidt brought in another guy or two in the State Department that it was very clear State Department. Google State Department government all same thing Eric. Schmidt's the boy. Eric Schmidt is taking over the position of Henry Kissinger such had a position. I mean you know. It's it's that role that that kind of guy I got the power of Weird you know the facilitator of the mission of of what of you ain't in control of your life and getting freaky that you know you're just livestock and this is how they're doing it. As Secretary of state and her aide Huma Abidine gene were working into nail which was created by the Houma. Abidine of Bill Clinton Doug Band this was it was. Corruption are plus their connection to Mr Clinton as well as former British prime minister. Tony Blair Tony Blair was to who was an early Teneo advisor. gave the new firm credibility as it pitched for business according to William Burke a partner at law firm Quinn Quinn Emanuel Urquhart and Sullivan. LLP and a former special counsel to president. George W Bush. I don't think they all get to play with Mrs Clinton's campaign campaigning. For President intense scrutiny of the intersection of the Clintons government business and philanthropic tropic activities has focused more attention on Teneo last year for example Republican. Senator Charles Grassley asked the State Department for records. Selena all dealings between Ms Osdene and Mr Band so here we got the right hand of Hillary and bill working together. I mean Y- yeah you said that that request for records I may not send some flares I guarantee it who spent most of his career band working for Mr Clinton I at the White House and then at the Clinton Foundation. It's unfortunate that they're getting caught up in political cycle. Mr Burke said when when you hire former government people there's always going to be a question of the revolving door the neon flashing example of it. Kane'ohe is getting more attention for its break. Knicks Brit Breakneck speed at which it is adding services and hiring people as well as talk talk of a future. IPO Now when they announced this IPO. This was not where I I heard it. It was in the Wall Street Journal. I think maybe days before this in the Wall Street Journal they talked about this. IPO and we talked about it on the show. We got a call from a listener a friend and he said hey man this this here goes is what we've been covering. He's kind of clandestine. He's in the banking industry and he. He wants to be all kinds of secrets and stuff. But he's just you know one of our contacts. He says look you pull this thread. They will all become clear man. I know exactly what they're talking about. So when you do Teneo or Kane'ohe aunt today. Oh in Bolivia today. Oh and Ukraine Teneo in Russia today or whatever as a search on the freemen's Phoenix search engine. This stuff starts coming up and you go damn damn. We've been covering this stuff a lot of times. We didn't even know it. You know I had to nails to what the hell's that we go on about some crazy stuff that they were doing and it all starts to come to understanding uncovering the secrets in exposing the lies of what's going on the vast majority of the firms. Roughly thirty five hundred clients have come about through the networks of the founders or through referrals clients have also been sold on the presence of senior Teneo advisors such such as former us. Should he choose. Continues and Blah Blah Blah Blah now. What was summarized in the coverage at the time was that he was selling his clients on the idea that giving to the foundation was an essence? Say Way to bolster their influence. Clinton band built a platform for executives to bolster their companies images bathe in and Bill Clinton's praises and do some good while to neo extracted earnings for band. And depending on what you see in these emails els Clinton himself to NATO paid Clinton until late. Eleven now as they pointed out. I guess you can wave it all off as a nothing burger but Chelsea Clinton in some of the Clintons other aides were clearly freaking out and he concluded by sane generally the email show Clinton's own closest aides troubled or horrified by things that her surrogates have spent years wave in awe this during the Podesta emails. Els and stuff going on now. What they were worried about as he sends this to a John Doug Band which was the aide Bill Clinton they had run and also to sharrow mills and John Podesta was dated November twelfth? Twenty eleven now to Podesta. This is before the year before the twelve election cycle. Now the twelve campaign now okay so by that time you know here. He Clinton is. You know deepened secretary of state and doing nailed getty. They're and they're doing the international traveling around on on the taxpayer dime to do business all over the world on this stuff and annual earlier. And here's a car to you know gets taken care of behind the scenes Kinda deal or just days before the above mentioned memo was sent out admits that I'm start. This is Doug Band to pedestrian. I'm starting to worry that this story gets out. We are screwed now. They thought it was going to Chelsea Clinton might have something to do with this. She was poking around and in her name of something. Something something. That's not where it came from. It came from the Podesta wikileaks. When that released? All this stuff started coming out and going the heck it was due to the hack of John. Podesta's email account however in light of the latest FBI FBI scandal involving Anthony Weiner meaner it remains to be seen if either banned or the Clintons are screwed. It appears that the general public has more than enough distractions to forget about this potential Graf scandal including the Clintons and their influence peddling clients. That was the last you saw of this The started going going down this road. And then boom Anthony Wieder you know the pedestrian email even the child sex trafficking and and Epstein Christina anything and certainly the impeachment of trump was to pull away from this. This is we don't want we'll talk about just about anything about this US okay. Now that was was the date on this. This was in October thirtieth of sixteen. I think whereas there's a October thirtieth sixteen all right now the month and a half four six weeks before was this article about about them doing the IPO. What they're I give a little bit more on this? They were institutionalizing. Four prophet and you could Invest Fifteen gazillion different ways of stock. Whatever.
