Eighty five percent grenache fifteen percent Acerra. So, keep a chill. And there you go. and. We did a podcast recently about. How nothing the wine bottle tells you anything actually hear it dealt with the grapes are and what percentages and That's from the central coast, even though it's hundreds of miles Lisa, tell you something. But. The name of the artwork on the label and the name the labels. That everything I needed to know. You can't get any information label normally this one that gives you a little bit. But I was looking for Rose Day. I'm in the Rosa. I'll, and it's like ten yards, zero reserves or popular right now. And Yeah walk in trying to see what's what and summer water and. "President trump tweeting I've instructed the United States Navy to shoot down and destroy any and all Iranian gunboats if they harass our ships at sea the post comes a week after eleven Iranian gunboats harassed U. S. navy and Coast Guard ships in the Persian Gulf in one case coming within ten yards of the U. S. Coast
Iran Guard commander threatens US Navy after Trump tweet
"Last week armed Iranian boats were caught on camera performing dangerous maneuvers around our warships in the Persian Gulf. You the eared a week old video that the Pentagon released noise coming up. This was a pretty bad harassment. It came within about ten yards of the. Us ship the Pentagon at the time as they often do in these sort of engagements a called it. Unsafe and unprofessional. But then the president about a half an hour after that video aired went much further and he was tweeting. I have instructed the United States Navy to shoot down and destroy any and all Iranian gunboats. They harass our ships at sea. The Pentagon was caught off guard by this the president's describing and responding to core behavior on the behalf of the Indians. A tweet goes out. Is that an order. I'm sure lawyers who look at whether you can shoot a boat up up because it has harassed you know we as the military have to apply that clear direction from the commander-in-chief into lawful orders that we execute vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff handled the tweet very well if you have a gun and you pointed at me. That's another thing. We know exactly what that means if you cross well the Pentagon and US forces have always had a right to self defense and the rules of engagement right now and I have been out on those ships and and seen boats from afar which they tried to de escalate but the president has sent a pretty clear message and in this time of pandemic and let's remember Iran has suffered a lot during this pandemic and lost a lot of people probably far more than we realize is Iran now willing to take that risk. How far will they push it? Do they think the rules of engagement will change

Myles Garrett: The Interview, Response, and Fallout
"Last Thursday. I sat down with Browns Defensive End myles Garrett in Los Angeles one day after he was reinstated into the NFL. The interview which aired on outside. The lines was Garrett's first media parents since he was suspended by the League for swinging a helmet at steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph Rudolph initially declined to comment but after reaffirmed his claim that the quarterback called him a racial slur. Rudolph replied on twitter calling the accusation. One thousand percent false and a bold faced lie today more from our interview with Garrett including new details on who he says he told about his allegation that fateful night then Adam schefter joins the show to discuss the steelers response. And what this means for both players going forward. I mean a crime. It's Monday February Seventeenth. This is ESPN daily presented by. Adt Back to November fourteenth. You guys were up. Twenty one zero seven just seconds left in the game even suited for the first time and how long and that gets marred by idiotic play by me and a couple other guys on both teams. And there's a brawl going down inside the ten yard line and getting in there was myles Garrett and took the helmet off of Mason Rudolph along it and that David Decastro and Marquees pouncey came in and they started really laying in so it was myles. Garrett took the helmet off of Mason Rudolph and slammed him on the top of my head dunk. Oh boy miles. We're going to get one too. That'd be suspended. Oh my goodness wow luxury what happened. I mean come off the edge by ten years less than fifteen seconds. I remember that I didn't want to be on the field but now sits out there and They were throwing that ball cells going to make a play so he started the ball. He's always wanted to throw. I'm going no the administrators on. I'm not trying to do anything illegal. I should go to take them down. He says some worry that we're going down. And he ends up on top of me and he goes to twist my helmet off. So I ended up getting leveraging topping him. I grabbed his helmet and I'll start shaking them. Push them off me and I was shaking him. His helmet comes off and is now one of his offense lineman grass and I think the Castro and he's talking to me. Tell me it's cool. Notice let it go. No Senate game. It's all good. And as he's known walking me away on my left side base incomes. Run again now. He's yelling he's already kicked me to China. Twist my helmet off and made a mistake to defend myself but Day because it's left a situation entirely. There's no need for that. No no for that at all. Wow you're you're up by twenty one to seven and video that we were watching of myles Garrett taking the helmet off brutal peniche slamming him. Which pretty bad you've just described in great detail. It sounds like something you've thought about a lot a lot of time thinking about it now. Time thing about that reaction what my response should have been. 'cause I should've have and I usually have in that situation. Just wasn't there and not just reflect the myself and allowing myself to never know being the situation but if I am to to handle it better. What did he say to you? Call me the N. Word Kami a stupid and we're I don't like I don't say the N. word whether it's not a he are to me personally just shouldn't be said and whether it's known by family friends anyone and I don't WanNa use it because I don't want to find the appropriate around me for anyone to use. So when he said it kind of sparks something but I still tried to let it go still walk away once he came back. Kinda Kinda reignited this situation and now only have you know escalate things. No Pass what it needs to be no with a little time in the game left. Now you're now you're trying to know reengaged and start a fight again and no. It's definitely not entirely his fault. Stephanie both parties. Doing something that you shouldn't have been doing so. He denied that he said what you're alleging. And then after your initial appeal leaked out and you said I wish this didn't get out at all. My was because I didn't want to try to use it as justification for my actions because there is nothing to justify like there's there's nothing I can say or do to justify what I did on that day. I'm not saying there's no to justify than I didn't do anything wrong and I know what I know what happened. I know what I heard. People say things when they're heated aren't the full of emotion. I leave it on the feel.

Falcons stun Saints to end six-game skid
"On any given Sunday anything can happen. I get that. But the Falcons defense with an inspired effort. They sacked your breeze. Six Times. New Orleans didn't score single touchdown and maybe there's something about division match ups here. Mike Atlantic gets up for a game against Orleans. A snap the Saints Six Game Winning Streak Matt Ryan Twenty Thirty Five I for one eight one two and a couple of touchdowns for the saints finished with just three hundred ten yards. It's well below. The average of three seventy five is really just divisional matches because Atlanta certainly looked. Inspired up there Dan. Quinn was fired up on decent. Today I was talking about. Hey I would take the falcons in the thirteen and a half. Because I thought the Falcons would back door cover right. I never thought the Falcons would be able to hold the saints for Three for twelve third out and over three on fourth down. I mean think about that. That's remarkable right. I mean this Falcon Defense can't get any pressure. On the quarterback they had sixteen passes broken up the entire year. They can't even get their hands on the football. And yet they turn this thing around and they just stoned it and I think the hard party people think when you have a by people think that you know it gives you chance your team regroups. I think you lose your focus a little bit as a team and I think that the saints went away on their Bhai because you have to give the players four days off. They kind of read their press clippings they thought everything was okay. They're coming to play a SHITTY team like Atlanta. You know and it's not going to be that hard and we'll just we'll turn Alon whenever we need to and they got themselves caught and like you said in a divisional game these things really matter. I mean I don't think people from the northeast understand the rivalry between LEAN ATLANTA NEW ORLEANS. It goes back to when they were in the old. NFC West remember when when when the NFC west was Atlanta New Orleans San Francisco and the rams how that was the West. I I have no idea but those are the four teams right. This is years ago right this when I first started league Atlanta was in the West. This is Chris Chandler days. What era it was way back? Get Chandler Steve Barkovsky. They played the West. I mean they played San Francisco twice a year. This is a real rivalry but that game is like a college game. There's a lot of because because the cities are so close to one another and it's such a southern thing it's a rivalry game and I think obviously Atlanta played up and I mean Dan Quinn. Take your hat off to him. I mean his defense. Finally Allie showed up and played a decent game. The Sean Payton said last week if you go back to the history of its matchup regardless of records it's always been a one possession game or a score game overtime or field goal game and I'm expecting the same thing this weekend. So he was not surprised as by this result and I wouldn't be concerned about the saints. Either Mike. I'm with you. I just think he'd come off a bye. Hi It's division game you lose. It doesn't give me pause and sincerely about New Orleans. They just got beat. They got beat badly New England. I think this is the best thing that happens to him. Because Sean will be on a tangent. He'll go completely lately beserk. I mean there's so much I feel bad for who they play next week. I mean I don't know who they have. I don't have the top of my head but next week. They gotta play somebody and it's GonNa it's GonNa be a challenging game for them because they're gonNA come in and I think they're obviously you know they're going to be ready to play that game and they've got to play at a higher level. They play the Tampa Bay bucks down to Tampa. And that's another one of those that that always give the saints a lot of trouble going into Tampa Bay. Now I think this week Sean. Scott their teams full attention and he'll be able to get them. But you gotta take your head off to Atlanta Atlanta. They fought the whole game. They fought in there and they did a great

Antonio Brown, released by Raiders, reportedly signs with Patriots
"The hundredth year of the anniversary of the NFL is this Antonio pound saga well I mean it's it's insane it's crazy and you know everything that played out it's almost the case where listen you know I get to the point we'll get to the patriot idea of it the raiders were left with no choice now they were left with no choice and you could even make the argument and before he went on Instagram early on Saturday morning and basically said release me after the you know two hundred plus thousand dollar fine which made his money not guaranteed here moving forward in that Oakland Raiders deal that they re worked after they acquired him from the Pittsburgh Steelers David that even before that when he say what he said you know with racial undertones to Mike may I could practice in in that once you do that you overstep your bounds as a player win in terms of you know not understanding the leadership of mac is general manager that he should be gone then but then you had after that you know the teary eyed apology that he had to the team right thirty million dollars correctly right there's no doubt about it and then he gets hit with a fine once again we're grew to make the announcement before that that he'll be playing right and they'll be suiting up and playing against the Denver Broncos then you get the fine once again then he goes crazy on Saturday morning on Instagram selling the raiders to release some and they end up really so it was a very interesting forty eight hours for the Oakland Raiders to say the least and you know first and foremost the one thing that you and. so when it comes to the NFL and when it comes to the owners the head coach and the GM the one thing that they're always looking for with leverages is how to take away your money and he came from that complete leverage I've also heard fancy well you can't you can't find star players they don't get fined they get fined each and every week if their wait for meeting if they mistreatment well I still watch go berserk it's just not something that the team put out to the media it's something that's handled in house right so if people think that star players don't get fined that's a ridiculous statement because it happens each and every week out of the NFL season and when you look at the structure of everything that happened on in experience GM if you don't think Jon Gruden knew exactly what was going on and was there a point good cop bad cop I don't know what you're thinking about Jon Gruden has to do that for the face of being the head coach because he doesn't want the blurred lines of the GM and head coach but he was a hundred percent on board with what Mike may I was doing that's why he hired him so that he basically can control the entire situation I grew the David but here's the point I have is the one I get rid of them initially you know after he gets into the altercation with may Oct the verbal one people say downplay whether how physical just was but just when you have that go down a practice and you have Antonio brown screaming what he did when I repeat it Mike mac on the practice field why not just get rid of a man don't you at that point when you decide to bring him back are you sending the wrong message to the rest of the guys on that team because you know a cures everything vitamin W. winning that's what cures everything and when you look at him with that hundred million dollar contract this team going on the road to play a division rival in Denver they're a better football team with him out on the field that being said what else is the big thing that they're looking at they're looking at next year moving to Las Vegas and having a big splash to bring that fan base and to bring a drawing crowds to the Los Vegas readers to you look at the overall landscape of things. Jon Gruden gave him as many opportunities as possible because let's face it that's what had photo gallery supreme GM's and owners to win Taylor puts production out on the field right now and they were left with no other choice and then the conspiracy theorists are that brown and drew Rosenhaus right his agent Bailey forced their way out of Oakland left them with no choice to do this and then he ends up with the New England Patriots Rosen house in the pats Abella check of a very good relationship he signs up there joins the litany of guys who've had trouble careers before going to notice anyone that's according to the in areas Tom price range of all fourth fifth. that's exactly I Randy moss Corey Dillon guys that had issues with other organizations went to New England I basically bought it and now it's a one year deal ten million guaranteed five million in incentives we can earn fifteen million dollars he's not could be playing against the Steelers later on tonight as the patriots and Steelers do battle but you will look at the very fact of now he ends up with the patriots and now you look at this patriot team with adult men brown and Gordon yeah I know no grown cow ski but you look at it and for Antonio brown everything that transpired in Oakland I would probably bet anything that none of that will transpire up in New England no because there's veteran leadership in the locker room you think about the last chance he's got without a doubt if you think about things that took place in our locker room when you have a Michael street him when you have an Antonio Pierce we have myself Chris me and other guys that our leaders that we don't let the stuff take place in the locker room and go out into the public figure who's gonna stop anything he did in Oakland there's not a single player on there that has a resume like him that could put him in his place now go into New England it is a completely different story because they've won without him and they don't need him to win but let me ask you this question now I mean sometimes guys just go author yeah I mean go off the tracks yeah know he's definitely offer the tried your office right there's no doubt about it but I my point being is that you know I don't know if even that was great veteran leadership on Oakland if they were gonna pull a massage I mean nobody could do no I don't know what what's even if there was to prevent exactly what transpired and what happened and how hay wire it got whether it be the feet the helmet how they support him through all of that and then the very fact of he they handed him down you know basically a fifty thousand dollar fine he goes haywire has the apology then after screaming at back then he gets find out once again they're going after his money and rightfully so pure the Oakland Raiders because what would lead you to believe the behavior is going to change but I'll tell you it doesn't get a say I don't get a sense even if that veteran leadership was there in Oakland that that also was going to. change with the way that he acted out there in Oakland not it's not a winning program like you love Pittsburgh yeah and the way that we love Pittsburgh and you didn't hear about all this nonsense I'm sure was all gone behind the house down in my home when was a cover up of the Steelers recovered as team week seventeen when the plane for the playoffs no doubt about it but I would say this is that the Steelers were smile and and the very fact is is that they don't have to deal with the headache and then all of a sudden the headache bloomed out an open window and I heard everything that tree outside with Antonio brown and and it's all sort of go along with that you know the one thing that you always said as an NFL player that was like to joke around the NFL players go to the raiders to die that's where their career ends and obviously with him you knew that he didn't want to be a part of training camp hence the whole helmet situation the whole foot thing the footings wanting them with the helmet you weren't even practicing anyway so it's not just to disappear from practice well you're doing the standard to ride the bike or doing whatever for your feet at that time that's once again him believing that he is more important and has a different set of standards than the rest of the football team so there wasn't a player nor do I think Oakland could have ever done that now he falls into a situation where it's going to the New England Patriots and like I said it's completely different because they won without you and they can win without you so the standard that the put on it and the patriot way is do nothing outside yourself to cause controversy for this lock permit do bulletin board material we just talked about the examples that worked brand I think they're different points in their career but look how bad it was for channel chill Cinco because it showed that he was in a dynamic player he was the Purcell St precise route runner and he couldn't pick up with the language and we're Tom Brady wants you to be everybody knows that Tom Brady is a quarterback he demands you to do things to perfection and if you don't break your route off the ten yards and break it off at night you're not going to be on the football field that's the difference were Antonio brown is different the channel two signal and fits more into the mold of like Randy moss because they work that well it of players are more. technicians that nowadays is just to biting by the rules and just make sure you stay clear of all this yeah and I think he will be is I'll be ours you David if he blows up in New England we'll be all rights will be god and not just that I don't know how many teams that will be clamoring to bring a man at the kind of money that he's looking to make music Tony brown does want to sign a one year deal worth two million dollars he's looking for the kind of contract that he got in essence in a performance based contracts but he is getting ten million dollars guaranteed you want to do the re work from the Steelers the Oakland Raiders it did now we lost a lot of money yeah terms of Garin a lot on it a lot of money but he has the opportunity to make it back and if he is able to change the discourse the conversation around him and have a great year and buy into that patriot system and he minds is pleasing cues and there are no way should be as you know this he is going to be under the magnifying glass and they're gonna be people Diggin it see what's going on behind the scenes if he's able turn all that around then everything will be fine for Antonio brown then okay contract next no doubt about it but if he doesn't I don't know how many teams will be clamoring to bring and then all of the thirty two year old receiver this is his last opportunity let's face it if you go to New England and you box this for them taking the chance on you as a player and you go back to what you just did in Oakland and back to all the things that you did in Pittsburgh yeah that talent won't outweigh the cancer that you'll be in that locker room and the headache that the coaches and GM selected deal with so this is really his last opportunity with bill Belichick because I truly feel this organization of bill Belichick are the only ones that can

"And there's too much think about, and I, I truly feel like I have a lot more football left inmate. I'm excited about that. So I'm focused on that at the moment enjoying it a loving it in. It's, it's a hard game to give up man. I just I love the daily work of like you said trying to get better at something and still trying to prove that even now after two years of injuries. I still have a lot will you got sixteen sacks last year. Nobody's talking about you at all. I like whenever I was going through the stats of last year. And I read that you had sixteen stats lashed are sax last year. I was like, damn, I didn't know I had no idea. Nobody's even talking about the JJ watt. Nobody's even talking about the Houston Texans making the playoffs and with a quarterback that seems to be legit. For the first time nobody's really talking about the Houston Texans. That's got to feel pretty good going into training camp. The guys are kind of a underrated weapon right now. Yeah. You know, I mean, the thing that people immediately talked to me about my interviews already off the field things obviously, or two years of injuries. And I've been trying to kind of with the two years Andrews behind me. Because like you said last year I was fortunate I'll get back to playing good football. And so, I think it I think it's going to take at least one more year of playing at that level before people forget about what happened with injuries and stuffing. Remember what I can do on the field. And then we do have a good team. We have a very good team. A lot of good guys. We have good chemistry obviously were in into good colts team in the in the playoffs that I think that it's, it's a matter of making it and doing it on the field rather than talking about what we're going to be able to do or where we wanna go. And, you know, the city of us some hasn't really had anything since I'm in when I first got here we want our first playoff game ever, we went to the plastic. I I've ever we won our first playoff game. So we're trying to take that next step and be able to do. Big things in is just can't do it by talking to you have to work in drew. I say all the time that my favorite place to play was down there in Houston at the whatever you guys call it now stadium. It was a that point had driven and onside kick ten yards to yourself. Pretty awesome. I he when he wanted it was pretty prequel nothing pissed me off on. I mean I'm just sitting there on the bench from all right? We got to kick off comedy here. I got plenty at times sipping. Gatorade watching. Not even really paying that much attention. And then all of a sudden on my well what the hell was that? And then fucking number one walking out of the plough with. Iran. They showed the replay in there. I hope and I hope you saw near like. Yeah. You know what I don't think I've ever seen came on. That's pretty crazy thing. I was so mad. Because I was like, there's no way we actually just allowed that at. I was like, we had to have a guy in the middle. Right. I mean today, at least max somebody over to get the ball. No, he didn't. Wall south there. I mean it wasn't even like you were running that hard. I know. Yeah. I mean in a weird wild game. I mean I don't know that was that was the loudest I've ever heard our stadium that game. It was awesome. It was piercing. It was like actually piercing in anytime. I get asked like your favorite place to play. I did get to play at Seattle. But everybody's like your favorite place to play. I always say Houston man, it was always like a time game. It always felt like it was like a Super Bowl like a playoff game in the crowd was into it. They were loud, and they're into it that doesn't happen everywhere..

"You want to build for non said kick, you'll get the ball fourth and twelve from the twenty eight yard line convert that I too I down you'll get to keep the ball. If not the goes to the other team. That's basically kind of an onside situation, I think onside kicks are stupid. They never work. If your team needs one, you might as well, just turn off the television. Gauge, you ain't gonna get it. It's worse when you need to God, we get one yank it and the other Greg. Remember, grace Janos had had an idea for replacing kickoffs about ten years ago, maybe five whenever he was the Tampa Bay coach a hundred years ago, whenever it was Greeks Yano predict de predicted. But proposed an idea for kickoffs. Remember, we were all like oh kickoff surveillance. We can't do that anymore. He said that if that every team that scores and instead of kicking off you get the ball at the thirty yard line and make it fourth and it was like four thousand twenty or something like that. No, fourteen fifteen and so you can go for it like an onside kick or you could punted away that punts would replace kickoffs. Thought that wasn't terrible a terrible proposal. But you gotta make sure you have a good punter to again, it could be blocked and all that stuff. But so that was his proposal to get rid of kickoffs. But this is better because it doesn't it's not a safety issue. I don't think the af brought this in as well. Oh, onside kicks dangerous. I think they did it because onside kicks don't work. They just don't work and this at least has a chance to work. Yes. Converting a fourth and twelve is hard. But so is an on side kick. At least this is a better chance of being successful than a stupid. Onside kick that never has the chance of being successful. You the worst. When you team needs an onside kick in the stupid kicker doesn't kick it ten yards. Yeah. Botches the supposed to hit it on the ground and said, he pops the stupid thing up in the air right to a guy. Oh, the worst. I hate onside kicks. I I always I'm always onside kicks make me depressed at the end of the game. Like movie score and get the onside kick score and lose the game. Because that's what's going to happen. You're not getting the stupid onside kick. But can you imagine a team like like, I know my team like the Steelers or even your team the chargers fourth and twelve with their passing offense, so bad. No. And that's right. And that's what we were talking about with chance. Yeah. We were talking about the fact that it's it is it's a legitimate chance that, you know, something something amazing can happen. Right. And you know with an onside kick we were talking about this during the break. There was a time when you and I were younger that they didn't have the hands team in field. Exactly. And I think there was more of a chance something happening because you had, you know, fit string offensive lineman fielding onside kick like, oh, you know, what this could actually work, and then some coach had to go and ruin it with the brilliant idea of like, hey, why don't we put you guys who actually can't catch the ball? When you see Odell Beckham junior lined up on the on side kick. All right. Well, this is pointless. Now, it's the war because if the kicker can get at ten yards Odell coming down with the ball. Letting a go you cool about this rule is that you can add something really good like, okay? Let's say you trail trail by twelve. Okay. So you need to touch down. So you need to get the you need to score. And then you need to go to the ball back and score another touchdown. Forget it at that point games. Overlook even with two minutes remaining, you not only the problem is getting the touchdown. But then you get the onside kick, and then you've got to run someplace you might break. Open something on that fourth and twelve. Yeah. Like, you might something like you. Onside kick your recovering the ball still in their Tarantino in their territory. Your territory, you still you still got a ways to go. What I need is to get get a score you can fourth and twelve you might receive might break free. There might be a missed tackle wide open and blown coverage. Like you. Don't see. Onside kicks picked up and ran for like forty yards before the guys tackled, you just recover it. And then you bring your offense back out. But there's still a decent chance that the other teams defense is going to prevent you from scoring, but at least with this on fourth and twelfth something amazing could happen and you could put yourself right back into the game with one big play. Listen one thing willing to take a shot. One thing we know for certain is that defense is tired defense is tired because they were just scored on their momentum. Maybe down a little bit. They gotta they gotta find some way to pick themselves back up because they either touchdown. We're just scored on them. Maybe maybe it was a field goal that they're like man, we just stopped him a little bit sooner. They're they're second guessing was says the bottom line, they're tired. They're there's fatigue setting in. And then you just truck your outfits out there. One more time and say, you know, what let's let's just take it to him one more time. I can't think of anything more exciting. This is cool. I hope Roger Goodell's looking at this. I hope he's not filled with the kind of arrogant pride that makes him go. Thing we like where we are. We like where we are is a league with think it's more exciting for fans when nothing happens and teams don't have a chance to come back late in games. We like that. That's what our league is based on the fact that giving up and not being successful at something is something very very proud of in this league. So anything new and exciting and fun and more interesting. Let's look for other leagues to explore not us. What was the last thing? The NFL Dopp did point conversion two-point conversion. Yeah. I don't know that was adopted. But when you say adopted, what about the extent something invented was extending the free, the extra points, and that's not adopted net. I'm just saying it's other league. Did you know, I know like the XFL had the spidercam, but I'm not talking about not talking about. Yeah. Just something that they saw another league and say, you know, what let's give data shot. Let's just give that a try because to me it seems like they don't do that type of thing that they're just no we didn't come up with it. It's not our idea than five years from now, we have a brilliant idea. Let's change the onside kick. I think this. I think on side kick things awesome. I would love to see me to, you know, imagine like, you know, the Super Bowl would be a lot more exciting. Oh god. Yes. You know for team is down by a little bit. You know, you have a real chance you say you have Tom Brady sent back there. You mean to tell me that you wouldn't you wouldn't put the trust putting the ball. And Tom Brady's hands versus have trusting Steve Gostkowski to make a kick. I can't. Just keep going back to the thought that onside kicks when when you I mean when was the last time you went into an onside kick situation with your team confident they were going to pull it off. Never never never it. Never happens. Never you the last time I felt that way. And I can't remember the name of the team. But it was in the movie waterboy. Right. Because in the movies. I'm always certain they're gonna make it because you know, your team that you've been rooting for needs it in the water. Boy, they needed an onside kick, and they got it got it. But that was the last time, you know, because obviously I was going for the team that water is on. I don't know any other teams. But I could say that was the last time I felt for certain that. I'd never feel that way. Never again. I hate it. When my team has to get one I had. They never do and ten times out of ten. You're always surprised that they actually converted it. Yeah. There's no there's no, oh, I knew they were going to get at this time. No, you did it. You never knew as it's ten times out of ten. How remember when the XFL's rule was no coin toss would just put the ball and have people run at it at full speed. And then the guy busted shoulder on play one that one. NFL going. Ooh. Now, we don't want that one. Any other cool rules. You one little like what what I what an idea what an idea that was like you guys running full speed at each other. Put the ball in the middle. The only thing that would make that better. Like, you know, the referee bouncing the ball ahead of time. Like, they do in Australian rules football. Yeah. What if what I never got answered was what if both teams don't want the ball. I. I don't know if the XFL was you get the ball, and then you can decide or you got the ball. You got the ball. Like, I'm sure they made a decision because some some people defer they win the toss and they go. Yeah. We'll take the ball in the second half. So I'm hoping that that was the rule. I I don't remember much about the XFL hoping they did that. But who knows they came up with that stupid role? They probably didn't even think about what both teams didn't want the ball. I start the game. Sure, I'm sure somebody. Go just put you guys day wanna hit each other. Yeah. It's evens McMahon going our put the ball midfield have them run at each other at full speed. But what neither one wants the ball. Does that does that actually happen? Yeah. A lot. All right. They get to choose. I guess I'd rather have keep the ball. And they want that ball. That's why they've gone. Was there ever an incident where they saw one guy charging after the other guy like fakes it and like now go ahead. No, you take it. I don't want it. You know? Fine. I think it'd be it'd be better. It'd be gamesmanship with one guy just tear off after it. And then all of a sudden at the last second divert, see. Right. Well, that would be me. Because if I was running for that ball, I be running at top speed. And it'd be like oh, hell, no. I'm not doing this. I'm just veer off. I'm not gonna go after thank on the fact that the guys just to die for it. Maybe can you pick it up and run with it? Oh, that's maybe thought you were going to be faster than the other guy, and you can pick it up and run for a touchdown. All right. "The blitz had a ten yard head start and just drilled in France while getting up on about the eight count looked like a scene from rocky even lost his hand. Warm. Got hit so hard by a low. He came from about ten yards deep. Untouched and shoulder to the kidney folded them up. Put the chair in the ground. France law has had a rough go in the second half. And a lot of that is because of plays like that he's been under pressure and letting go of the ball just as he gets hit. He's only four out of fourteen in the second half for thirty four yards. Florida state going forward four down to nine from the Irish forty one drill and forty two thirteen France. While fires across the middle. And has a completion inside the thirty yard line to DJ Matthews's tackled right there. "Interception at the ten yard line was an interception of the ball move Dolittle or if it hit the ground and then we've got to start discussing and debating it because it's harder to talk about how good he is than it is to complain about the officiating or to go to like this technology is a plague, Mike, where every last thing is being hyper examined and a game where it's arbitrary when they're particular about spotting the ball, they've got you out. You've heard me do this before where the old guys with chains are measuring, and then they have to be super precise on this one play. And so the conversation becomes every week, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh did Cincinnati, get hosed every week we're, we're not celebrating what we're seeing. We're complaining about. The nitpicking. But Mike, I feel like that's been going on forever with the NFL and I feel like it's part of the NFL. You just complain about the reference. Nobody g. might have lost the excitement in the moment because we're reviewing everything you may have no us that. And I wonder. One great plays or made were sitting there having to reveal whether they're greater, not total, it annoying. It is, but I know once on a breakdown on this, at least I don't think I'd love to see one, but I feel like we're doing this a lot less this season and last season in terms of did the bull move when it hit the ground there. Now thing for now has been drastically improved from the previous season. Well, because we all know now see, this is the culture shift though. Mike, we much like in real time they have altered what we know about the violence. Science and news has made it so that when a quarterback now gets hit hard, your natural reaction is that's a flag that's not allowed. That's a penalty. Where's the flag? We have been altered now by the technology so much that anything that happens, we're like, can we review it? We need to review that. What was he down at the half yard line? This happened to Pittsburgh on the goal line. The other day they didn't challenge. That Mike, this is how it happened. They have first and goal at the half yard line because Connor thought they thought he was in the end zone. And then he wasn't in the end zone and they reviewed it and they put him at the half yard line. And then they fail three times from the half yard line. You know, with the commentators estate meant Tomlin should have reviewed that for a half yard on I out your the Steelers, they're the second best franchise over the last two decades. They can get half a yard mazing an offense. A quarterback's nickname is big. I mean, come on and then the announcers just pounds to mmediately. Oh, I don't know why. Tomlin didn't challenge that. Connor that CONNER touchdown, it should be wide. Is it not annoying to you? Yes, it's annoying to me, but at least we're get right like you can't complain. I'm not even sure we got it right last night. Got might if they've reviewed it that might not have been an interception at the end. We get denied that last drive we get tonight. Well, no, I think it was third down so they punt in that spot. And then Green Bay gets the ball back and maybe we still have that drive. Maybe no, you're talking them know the game when the it would have been forced down for San Francisco, right? Or was it third doubt regardless? They were at the ten yard line, but the killing at right more. They're not going to be perfect. There are always going to be situations like that Brown's raiders game where someone loses and it's on a review and they so botch it, but we're getting a more right, and that's more important than waiting around for thirty seconds off saying it was third down in that spot if they, if the pass is incomplete than the forty Niners have the punt Nara Rodgers and the Packers get the ball back. Let me ask you this question because Mike brings up a valid point more right should be better. Right. But more right. What that does is point out all the other times, they get it wrong, like it's not if this either needs to be perfect or not, but they're just going for a slice of perfection in one area and then punt goes out of bounds..

"I'm really, really happy for him, but he showed me something because I know that he panicked and he admitted that, but he went on to play a spectacular football game. It's hard to be better than he was in a debut and how it because it's hard to start worse. It's not like all pick sixes or awful. Worst thing you can do as a quarterback. This one was -particularly awful. It wasn't the ball got batted at the line, none of, no. This one was all his doing and maybe offense coordinator to a degree. I mean, he's basically throws a cross field jump pass off one leg. He does everything wrong, literally little league type stuff. Really and you said for it the numbers, but I do want the audience know what the numbers were from that moment. Forward from that moment forward, he completed eighty percent of his passes for nearly ten yards per attempt to touchdowns no picks and a one forty one rating from that moment forward. He played a nearly flawless game. He probably could have had gaudy or numbers. If the jets weren't beating the breaks off the lion so badly to where they didn't need to open up the offense, much at all. When Stafford couldn't stop throwing picks. It was it was incredibly impressive to overcome that moment because that's the type of thing that he had been waiting for this moment his entire life and all of a sudden teams. Typically, if you give a defensive or special teams touchdowns in the NFL you lose four out of five games like one play like that king cost her team, one of its sixteen chances to win. And for him to overcome at man. The jets have to feel great about their selection about them, trading up to three to be able to go get him. And wouldn't you say it says more about him as a person which you talked to a lot, then him as the, you know, having those football accurate, though skills that he was able to compose himself and come out, because sure you can come out with all the skills in the world. But if you don't have the wherewithal to be able to come out, compose yourself as the face of this team as the youngest kid to ever start basically fell game nine Histon ninety nine year since is central to the jets said, okay, we love what we have more because he was able to compose himself than just what he was able to do afterward. The reason why you draft guys like this, what other intangibles because everyone's got talent was not. Let's not get on this thing. We say, you know something. Give me the guy. That's smart. Not talented. No, no, no, because they happen. There are a lot of guys that have both, and that's what Sam darnold hat. I like the fact that he's a. Very good athlete. You could see that he got out of the pocket. You could see that in the pocket. He was very, very comfortable always kept on nice wide base. He has spectacular arm town, like he's the reason why before the draft, I thought he was the most red. He's always ready to throw. He has. He has this little leadership thing too, and I saw that when I was with the jets that it's hard. It was like Baker Mayfield is something that we saw this little intangible that people want to follow him. The just got it, right..

And you know, what this pass rush upfront when you're going to drop back. Derek Carr seven steps and expect those guys to hold up. This guy is going to go through some growing pains. Probably tonight. He gets these good pass rushers and right there. He just got beat around the edge a little bit got his hand up around the collar it held raider fifteen. It's first down in twenty five deploy shotgun snap the car with right handed throw nearside. It's a shoulder. I catch at the twenty yard line by the tight end carrier runs up the near sideline twenty-five and it out of bounds at the twenty seven yard line on the near sideline in front of his own bench for the raiders tied in and he picks up eleven yards on I in twenty nice play just to get back to the line of scrimmage and put yourself in manageable situation. Again, not a big play down the few get the ball out of your hands that you play maker make a play. Now, you feel pretty good at second or not. On the twenty seven yard line of the Oakland Raiders moving from our left throw, right? The running back Lynch now darkness completely overhead here on the west coast is a son is just set in his car under center pulling away somebody your throat. Everybody pointing it. Everybody on the field all star. Offense the poor..

For bringing that, up but, I watched that too JJ go ahead I, was thinking about it, I was thinking about Mr. leeches father. My freshman year his dad's. Senior. Year and Friends with one Mike Marshall for Michigan state, one of his best friends and every time I see reminds me, how he intercepted three passes in that game but. We lost twenty four to fifteen and. They were on probation but that game crushes, me like a Balaj grant your. Dad didn't lose, to win games we lost one in seventy seven in Minnesota and one of the seventy six when Jim Smith when Jim. Smith dropped, a wide open pass and, Bob would Mr. chip shot field goal at the end, of the game and. I I remember. Those crush me but that was back when I was in high school so it didn't hurt it is bad it's like, losing with all those interceptions your senior year at Michigan state when I went to that game Tigers playoff game because one of my high school buddies played for the Tigers back then just like somebody else's fathers used to play for the Tigers what an. Athletic family you have you guys your father and your, brother James wall Comores just To be around that greatness and degrading state you actually turned out you don't have about. Know what that guy I made a I made a lot of people think I was crazy when I said that three star guy would be a lot better, than the five, star guy from, Alabama and that But that's even here at the beach I just wanna remind you one thing watching that thing last night Edwards dropped a pass Pass I had to poke. Liberty and he don't Pete mobile In that game that stopped the Michigan drive in Spartan territory. So he might have, been the best guy you ever. "Of a scoundrel and he's wrote rope josephine into contracts that are a phony us however napoleon is immediately interested with fighting going to war so let's go to war i mentioned the loaded bricks we do what we do can i tell you about a marvelous line of one of the contemporaries over napoleon as as you said of hippolyte show that he had all the charm of a week makers assistant yes you made me you made me like him but i was curious when he wanted it off the the theater of the stage of history whether he had any real what his reflections were at the close of his life about how close he came to the son of his all of his letters were burnt unfortunately lifetime so we don't know unfortunate well perhaps we'll find some more hippolyte charles had a point of view that at one point he played a prank on napoleon and glued is sword it do the scabbard i thought that was a striking sense of humor for he he did that to to to general reno and he was so he was obviously a bit of a practical joke and a scene loved him for the way that he tied his cravat frankie this man is not to be at the same kind of napoleon bonaparte but he obviously had a good deal of well this is early napoleon now he's not quite twenty five years old the loading bridge at this point they're fighting the austrians rearguard but these the determination that napoleon shows at this battle impresses his soldiers how well it's the horizon which hasn't got the same expression in english the word harangue doesn't imply a an aggressive sort of baseball speech it's an inspirational another wonderful speech and they often appeared in speech as men sending the news of this very long rather rickety three hundred foot bridge which was any about ten yards wide they they will they will fight up an inspired by him and they captured the bridge and captured the town of laudi detail here about napoleon's taxes on the battlefield the battalion carre becomes his early on a tactical genius later on it'll be the core what is it andrew well what allows you to do actively is to break down your army into much smaller little mini armies each of which has a auxiliary infantry and cavalry install component which allows it therefore to march separately and forage separately and also to be able to news ninety degrees to the to the rights over lash or even in retreat and is there for much much more flexible than the old kind of medieval standard on these where you had all the instant she together all the coverage together together so very much was the new form of warfare he'd read about it he didn't invent it he read about it but he did perfect it the bridge dot com we have to mention that as well because there's fighting back and forth racing around in the valleys they're always on the march this is the summer of seventeen ninety six and we come to the call bridge this is in november i believe it's in the fall and napoleon himself gets involved in the assault which you walked over this bridge and said he was very lucky to survive with his life that's the story of his life which is luck what happens well he he grasped a standard in order to try to get his men to charge as the bridge there as they had low to your earlier but this time the australian fi was not just for musketry but also from great shot from canon and it killed his aide tacoma standing next to him and this was a real baptism the cy we've with with bullets flying around his ears and his bodyguard effectively bundled in with each now this is obviously not parts of the great glory the story of of napoleon so you we don't hear about this for many years until much later off to its but he was really just pushed into a ditch to save his life and they had to stand off for dan off before he was able to get troops around the back of the australians and captured the bridge effectively from both sides it was not his most glorious movement but he was victory the fighting this constant from the spring of ninety six to the spring of ninety seven in addition to polian though sometimes he tells the.

"The pc who's the best i n last the podcast man yesterday was a whirlwind of emotion guide we're gonna get to the coli leonard aspect of this nba aussies starting to heat up we turn on the strong silent type is that what's going to happen because it feels like i felt that myself morning i had to kind of check myself checking with my feelings figure out what the hell's going on with me my going to are we going to start to project a lot here in the way we do when we don't hear directly from somebody especially guy like why feel it for so long this was his endearing trait this is the thing that made us all like him and now i feel like we're probably gonna turn on him because it's kind of what we do but yesterday was humbling moment for me as an athlete man you guys are going to see some things on golick and wingo later today devon and i who works on the show over a goal of a window attempted to challenge toni fee now and his minor league baseball friend in their world record for most golf balls caught from a distance of a hundred and ten yards let me tell you as obscure record is it gets to start off with that's what i need to figure out now is what obscure record can i make up we've got some ones that we're gonna share at some point today we need to figure out an idea because now i'm convinced the devontae at some point going to be able to break some record because we showed that kind of promise that kind of promise is at stake right here so there's a lot there's a lot to handle on that today it's gonna be a busy day in that regard but not as busy right now for leonard things are going to start to think quiet down a bit around this as we get to the draft and hit a bit of a lull but we did get a bit of an update on the one aspect of course is current offseason after we got that bombshell of news dropped on us last friday that quiet leonard wants out of san antonio wants to go to the los angeles lakers all of the talk about him combining with lebron james and paul george the new super team can the twenty eighteen twenty nineteen lakers beat the ninety six bowls all the above well we've got an update now on the one thing i was holding out hope for is what about pop because all leading up to that we heard was that leonard and gregg popovich we're supposed to sit down have a meeting talk things out a little bit try their best to smooth this over and now we're hearing that gregg popovich had to get on a plane and go see kawai leonard this wasn't a meet in the middle type deal although according to our own ramona shelburne espn nba insider who wrote the story on this this was really the only way it was ever going to happen i think we're gonna have to be coming to him from what i understand at least before this meeting is pretty entrenched in its feeling pretty set on this i don't want to be back there and i would rather be in los angeles lakers so i'm not surprised because i think it's you do at some point have a wrong standing relationship with coach like that this is you know he's been like a father figure to him since he's been there and i you know if there was one person who he would allow that to happen with it would have been pop but i think popeye big go there i think at this point with the draft approaching in the spurs you know place where they have to now consider okay are we going to grant this request or not like you have to be able to look guy before you make that decision personal my goal junior here on espn radio presented by progressive home insurance get your quote at progressive dot com today.

"Okay do you think he has an a wide receiving corps hell no much closer to see minus so you know he doesn't have a great team around him he has some parts of it offensive line running back that are really real really special here's all you need to know the league average for rushing yards in a game for all the teams the league average is a hundred in ten yards a game rushing that's the league average when dak prescott gets a hundred in ten yards rushing support that's not great it's just the league average he's seventeen in three and one of the leaders in time of possession okay if you just give him an average coach which you think he has an average back seven defense of a below average receiving corps if you just give him the league average in running totals he seventeen in three he's also got saurav lou bit of a crazy loud owner crazy loud owner averaged a slightly above average coach below average wide receiving corps below average back seventy fence in a pretty tough division in a year and a half given the league average rushing yards he seventeen in three given him below that he's too and six he needs support don't bail on him i think he's going to go into new york this weekend in what's going to be hit he bizarre see i i really actually excited to see this scene and he's gonna win this football game i think it's going to be really really close it to feel goal football game but don't bail on the katie can play and there you have a number.

"Hundred ten yards and no touchdowns i'll take that in fact i'd sign up for that right now because it's about keeping that guy out of the end zone and i'll deal with everything else that comes with it as long as i know i'm not going to allow that guy to put points on the board he can have further down catches he can have catches for first downs i'll deal with all that stuff over the course of the game and seven for one ten means he's putting up numbers is putting up yards but he's not kill when you buy getting into the end zone see what happens is and where my pipe green theorem kinda gets blown up is when you're in the middle of the fourth quarter and a guy like julio jones has six catches ferral 100 for yards and no touchdowns and you have a league near thinking okay weren weren't decent shape your work controlling am and then boom one catch five yards big touchdown next thing you know ease it's seven for one fifth the in a score even just me saying that if i said you right now julio jones seven catches one hundred ten yards no touchdowns you'd say hey he got to eat a little bit but he didn't kill us if i said seven catches one hundred fifty yards and a touchdown they would be oh jesus he killed us and that's basically what it comes down to it used to be the same thing whatever they matched up against houston and they had the deal with andrei johnson he's remember for a period of time drew johnson was what for about a fiveyear stretch he was one of the three most productive wide receivers in the national football league pretty much year in and year out god is great but whenever you play the patriots it was don't let him get in the end zone and that is these same thing with julio jones we will talk the bob so see a mere moments but foist can you help us support more the boston celtics will play in game three of the new and the eighth in philadelphia but rain will be without marcus smart nursing an ankle injury speaking of ankle injury.
