"Morning, I'm Michelle bash. And I'm Kyle Cooper, grace Newton is our producer. The top stories we're following for you today. The Kremlin is now accusing the U.S. of being behind the drone attack on Vladimir Putin's residence that alleged attack, which it says was carried out by Ukraine. However, Ukraine's president zelensky has told reporters his country did not attack Putin, WTO's national security correspondent JJ green tells us what this could mean for other Eastern European countries that are helping Ukraine. They are on alert. They recognize based on the sources I've spoken to is that Russia created this to justify some kind of provocation against Ukraine to continue the violence that they've engaged in. And other Eastern European countries recognizing this, seeing that Russia most likely attacked its own capital with this drone, embarrassing itself, there must be a reason for this and they call it desperation. So if they're desperate enough to do that, what will they do to other countries that might be helping Ukraine in this war? Zelensky made an unannounced visit to the International Criminal Court today where he said that Vladimir Putin would end up there when Ukraine wins the war. A man suspected of being a mass shooter in Atlanta is now charged with one count of murder and four counts of aggravated assault, identified by police as 24 year old Dion Patterson. The former member of the U.S. coast guard is expected to appear in court some time today. Police say he opened fire inside the waiting room of a medical facility yesterday killing a woman and injuring four others. It began in the lunch hour in midtown Atlanta, police say 24 year old Deion Patterson shot and killed one woman and injured four others in a waiting room, then soon after carjacking the vehicle. The massive manhunt played out through the afternoon into early evening, ending ten miles north in suburban Cobb county, police chief Stuart van hooser says they checked in a flood of tips. One real time operator in particular saw now one one call come in. Literally said, I think this is going to be him. It was. Patterson was found hiding behind a condo complex in the Woods and arrested without incident. Edgar tragus for CBS News Atlanta. Three people remain in critical condition. It's a done deal now, weapons detection systems are coming to Virginia's second largest public school district. The vote was unanimous. The Prince William county school board approved the plan to install weapon detection screening systems in all middle and high schools by the fall. It will not be perfect, but it is a further deterrent and an added protection to our students. School board member Justin David Wilk, the evolved weapons detection system will cost about $11 million in the coming months, the school system will work on training staff and creating policies for using the devices, students won't need to take off their backpacks when they walk through the screeners. Neil law can stay in WTO. Also in Virginia, Alexandria city public schools have approved a pilot program for a similar security system and in Maryland, Charles county will also incorporate AI gun detection technology into their schools. More than 1200 migrants are currently being housed in D.C. hotels after being bused here from the near southern border, but D.C. council member Robert white says there is no room. There is no room for anyone anymore. The department of human services announced last week that our hotels dedicated to migrants are now full. And that space Montgomery county is full as well. Following the Norfolk Southern derailment and fire involving toxic chemicals in Ohio, senator sherrod Brown, a Democrat, and Republican J D Vance or co sponsoring a Senate bill that would make trains carrying hazardous materials subject to a series of new federal safety regulations. An early copy obtained by The Associated Press shows the bill would require carriers to increase cruise to a minimum of two, create emergency response plans and notify state commissions when a hazardous load is coming through. It would also add nationwide requirements to install devices designed to detect overheated wheel bearings and other mechanical issues, and mandate that they scan trains carrying hazardous materials every ten miles. Hazardous material accounts for about 8% of rail shipments, the association of American railroads, a trade group, says railroads are generally regarded as the safest option. "Can I go back then and ask you two more military questions? Do they have a Marine Corps? Do they have a 101st airborne? Do they have a big red one? Because I haven't seen any serious conversation of this for a civilian, and I imagine you're having those among military people. And then secondly, he sent 8 missiles within ten miles of Poland. And I said to Brett pere last night, you know, those go off course by ten miles and you've got that every square inch of NATO involved. What does NATO do when a missile goes awry? Yeah, we ought to worry about that deeply. And I kind of picture some 24 year old Russian drinking whatever the Russian version of Red Bull is. And he's Tapping in coordinates and one of those missiles goes across that border and hits, let's say, a U.S. command post. We've got a significant number of deployed troops now in that region. And now Todd Walters, general Todd Walters, my relief supreme allied commander in NATO, he is going to respond. And very quickly, you're in a highly escalatory ladder. So wars begin with miscalculations. That's how World War I started with an assassination two sides mobilizing suddenly the lights go out in Europe.

The UFOs the Government Couldn't Explain

"Most ufo stories are typically difficult or impossible to verify at the center of today's story. Though we have eyewitnesses. Who aren't your average. Joe shmoe off the street. They're trained pilots and technicians with years of experience. Working for the us military and the events all happened not long ago. It's the fall of two thousand. Four and two ships are parked about a hundred miles south west of san diego the cruiser uss princeton and the aircraft carrier u. s. s. Nimitz besides the ships crews they're loaded with navy pilots running routine flight drills keeping their skills sharp as they wait for deployment as the pilots hit the skies. Radar technicians back on the ships. Track their flights. It's all pretty standard stuff but sometime around the end of october. A few technicians notice unusual blips registering on their equipment as many as five to ten objects. Keep flying within ten miles or so of where they're running these drills they're all cruising at about twenty eight thousand feet which is too high for them to be birds but they're moving too slowly to be planes. The texts broadcast radio transmissions asking who these aircrafts are. They don't receive any replies. The even recalibrate their equipment thinking the blips could be some bugs in their software. But they're not they're screens keep showing these unidentified flying objects now thanks to pop culture a lot of people here unidentified flying object think alien spaceship despite its very literal meaning. I mean a balloon can be considered a ufo until someone confirms. It's just a balloon in this case the ufo's could be anything. A spy plane a missile or even a drone smuggling drugs into the country so on november fourteenth. Two thousand four the navy. Dispatches squadron commander david favor to intercept the objects whatever. They are but a half hour into david's flight. Radar technicians spot one of the blips. They give him some coordinates and he has out in that direction mentally preparing for what he'll do if the ufo is actually hostile near the ordinance. His plane infrared camera picks up on something and it's directly below him.

Why I Don't Believe in Coincidence

"So i guess we have to start with the fact that i wasn't supposed to be in town yesterday that that's a piece. That's really important in. This actually meant to go to new york for work and then at the last minute had to cancel my trip because had things here in austin that i couldn't shift around and so i found myself a sunday and my trip had gotten cancelled in the morning and i was like you know what i'm i'm up because i had to cancel the stuff and so i'm gonna go do my run. And yesterday i decided i was going to do the whole Circle which is about ten miles and ahead out there super early. So i go out at sunrise because it's so it's already like getting so hot here in austin for the summertime and i decide. Hey i'm going to start really early. So that i can get as much of the cooler and i'm using air quotes the cooler temperature as it possibly can and mama iran and i'm feeling good and happy to be outside and it's one of my favorite places and so i'm just like super blessed to be out there if you're a runner like me maybe we'll understand this but for me that's a sacred time. It feels a lot like church or therapy or something. It's just it's it's an incredible time to think or pray or meditate or manifest or whatever. It's really special. So i'm running and i get a bow. I don't know maybe four or five miles in. And the reason i told you about the time is because it's so early there aren't a lot of people out.

If republicans are really interested in a populist revolution in the country they need to take on speed cameras chicago. Speed cameras are churning out hundreds of thousands of tickets after a rule. Change this is from. Cbs news in chicago. chicago's speed. cameras churned out of thousands of violations. In the month after the city dropped the threshold for automated ticking ticketing from ten miles per hour over the speed limit to just six on march first twenty twenty one speed cameras. All over chicago began issuing either warnings. Or real tickets to speeders traveling. Six to ten miles per hour over the limit in specific children's safety zones near-certain parks and schools previously thirty five dollar. Tickets were issued at ten miles over this being limited hundred dollar tickets for eleven miles or more. What they've done is they have lowered the threshold for tickets by using cabs washington. Dc is notorious for this washington. Dc will put a speed camera at the bottom of a hill. So either you ride your breaks down the hill or you get a ticket. Speed cameras are an abdication of policing their money. Making tool you know. In in some areas of georgia's like alfa reta alfa reta has traffic cameras. Speed cameras in parts of atlanta have spe- cameras. NASCAR Makes Safety Rule Changes

"Made some rule changes just yesterday. The team's gotten new bulletin out on how they have to change the the car with a chassis and also with the new tapered spacer ornate. Kind of walk us through all the changes with the car right. So the tapered spacer change mardi is that they went from fifty seven sixty fourth of an inch to fifty three sixty seven inch so the smaller holes mean that there's less air getting through the engine and smaller roles means less errors means a decrease in speed so speeds will drop by about seven ten miles an hour. Nascar also removed the wicker from the spoiler and a roll bar that had previously been. Optional is now mandatory at daytona and talladega as we just heard and that piece we play with joey logano when he crashed at talladega when airborne running third on the last lap of the opening stage. Tesla Cybertruck 'Armor Glass' and UI Patents Reveal Exciting Features

"Yesterday the us patent office released patent application documents filed by tesla in relation to the cyber truck user interface and some other details about fifty pages of text an a series of twenty drawings or so. And there's some interesting things buried in here so again. These drawings are showing the user interface and the first thing that jumps out if we look at any of these is the six hundred. Ten mile range showed on the way on the right there. And that's the range that is displayed on the majority of these images of course ever since the truck unveiling tesla has listed the top and range for the cyber shock as five hundred miles. Plus but hundred ten that would be quite the plus similarly as we've been talking about with the f. One fifty lightning unveiling the payload for the cyber chalk has been listed fourteen thousand pounds plus one of the other eu i- images here shows the cyber truck pulling a trailer it lists the payload capacity has twenty thousand pounds now. Of course we've got no way of knowing if these are gonna actually end up being a specs but make you wonder why they would show up in the patent application if these numbers weren't in the ballpark of something that tesla was testing or targeting now to be fair these due to some extent look like placeholder values. We can see that on this payloads green. You can see to pay load and it still six hundred ten miles of range. I think we can be confident that that is not realistic. And in a real scenario tesla would likely be adjusting. The range display their based on the pilot. So it doesn't negate these things being interesting but it just shows that tesla's probably not taking a screen grab from a final interface with the final range number and payload things like that with those caveats in mind that might provide some interesting insight on that trailer so seen an image on tesla's site of the truck hauling this sort of sabir truck ask looking trailer from another one of these you i- images. We can see what appears to be in the backup camera possibly that

Amazon is on edge over Alabama union vote

"I'm roger chang and this is your daily charge joining us to run through this. Big labor battle is laura. Atallah our amazon expert. Welcome lor so. Can you give me a quick quick recap of what this vote. There are five thousand. Eight hundred warehouse workers in bessemer alabama voting on whether to or me union. It would be the first. Us amazon union. And it's also one of the largest if not dealer described to vote on forming a union in the us for amazon. And so there's a lot at stake here. It could kind of not like a beachhead free unions if it inspires other warehouse workers in other locations to organize. And what are we expecting the results so the results could happen at any time. The national labor relations board is counting up to balance and they could be this week or next antezana pretty vocal there. Obviously against this. And they've made the argument that they already pay their poise fifteen dollars an hour which is above the national minimum. What exactly are workers asking for. What's really prompting this. Push to unionize down in bessemer right. So the workers invest myr say that they would really like more control over their breaks and rest time and that comes from the fact that are ten hour shifts and they are extremely physical so people who are picking up packages from tote santa putting them on conveyor belts to be put in boxes are walking upwards of ten miles a day in their shifts bending down at santa gap again bet. Certain say there's other jobs where there's a lot of movement all day and amazon does offer breaks course and allows people to go to the bathroom whenever they need to. Workers say that the requirements to fill werner's are so onerous that they don't really get to take extra break on pop up those like hour rest period total of by ryan the the debris down thirty minutes. Get across the bridge right or both working to get into low gear and you do a little the extra work when she can't when you can't there you go bicycle built for two changed. Let's not a power mower. Do you use a gas powered mower. You know the long lawnmower it's right but it's gas powered. Are you suggesting you should just get out there with a manual more and start mowing the grass there. I'm not running my lawnmower up and down the beach. You're on the ought not pay attention and go right out into the row please. take little. Children doesn't go. That fast breaks down something else. Yeah we have quite a few bicycle shops down estra boulevard. Electric bike some do not. Yeah i would put a call out some of these guys that rent electric because they have a vested interest in this they ought to make a demo day for all the city council members and the mayor and the vice mayor they ought to bring an electric bike downtown down to down to the town hall and say get it on this electric bike and drive it around. I think there's a big misconception. I think these people think that electric bikes go fast. Like a moped. Like like the go. Fast i thinking fast you want a regular by can go fast. Anchor that the speed. That's hurting whether the motor or the legs power. The bike speed here advocating for us speed limit a reasonably. Who's gonna enforce that. We're gonna force the guy with the db meaner that's trying to enforce to sound now. He's going to have a speed on twitter on when you're going by with the bites his talk right. They're crazy. If if you don't use a checklist you're obviously not properly using it. So i see Occasionally on on check. Rides that that applicants. Are you know especially for our landing checklist. They're just using gump's and they're going through it and they're going through their mind. But there's not a checklist anywhere close And that's that's really a bad habit pattern I and i know Maybe a cessna one seventy two especially a fuel injected one where carburetor heat is not Introduced to the the scenario. There's really not a whole lot to do As far as landing. You know as far as Checklist items But it's it's a habit pattern it something that is required and it something expected When you get a job plan a big airplane especially at an airline. Checklists are are used. They're used every time You know. I fly big airplanes and some of our checklists. Only have three items on them. And i have a memorized. But i still pull out the checklist and i look at it and i read it and i i respond to it appropriately so it is a big item. You know you're not gonna fly the same airplane all the time. You may fly. An airplane now has cal flaps. You may be flying. Fuel injected one seventy two. And you're used to that but today you're flying an end model and you've got carburetor so you got carburetor heat to be considered and that's all on the checklist Landing lights Just just everything. That's on the checklist is it's there for for a reason so you know it's something that that We we need to do better with you. And i think as a student pilot when i was training you i did get lulled into this fact that i'm flying saint planes. They don't the school when i was going here. Only had one seventy two. So i was always flying a one. Seventy two all tricycle fixed gear aircraft. You could get lulled into that. But i've flown a lot of different types of aircraft. Now and if i only thought of those items on one seventy two n p models than if i did like you said flu anything else that i could get myself in trouble or hurt pretty quick right so number. Nine on. This list is poor weather. Planning i find that to be something that I find myself chasing people down talking about on a regular basis at the flight. School people learning how to fly. They wanna go. They wanna go And they just i don't. I don't think as much as we talk about it. I still don't think students understand. The dangers of what weather can do to us. And that weather as europe pilot and you fly weather is not necessarily the same three or four miles from here. We can see here. Might not be what. What's going on three or four miles away And it's it's shocking. I think i've told the story of trying to fly to brenham to see my dad. Not that far away didn't do a weather briefing or really understand all about the weather. Pass this airport and get out there and be a wall of clouds just five or ten miles away and have to do you know quote unquote a holding pattern out there for for a thirty minute time. They would burn off but they never burned off. And i wasted a lot of gaffes in a lot of my time Trying to get somewhere. That i could have solved for that. If i would've just looked at the weather

"And i used to stay at my grandparents house a lot out in a rural area in southeastern arkansas. When i very rural i mean that it was a series of network dirt roads out to their house. The closest neighbours. Besides my uncle lived on a quarter of a mile road who are over amount half way. The closest towns the ten mile trip. It's in the middle of farmlands in mostly woods. They had lived in this house since my mother was a child and both grown up just the way down the road anyway. There was a general store. Roughly three to four miles down the network of terror roads. This is your typical country. General store ramdan old lady and her husband and it's only customers. Really only consisted of the people lived out there in bum fucked egypt one day. My grandmother asked me if i wanted to walk to the general store. Anger milk eggs and a few other miscellaneous items. And i told her i would. She gave me some money. And i headed on my way. It was fairly early in the day. And i have plenty of time to get back before dark which always made sure to do. When i was out roaming about thanksgiving get mighty creepy out in the backwoods of arkansas. After nightfall it's a darkness like most people have lived primarily in cities or towns have ever experienced me being a thirteen year old head. poor time management skills. I stopped at the bottom of the hill next to a small wooden bridge. You have to cross and mess around the creek catching crawdads and such. And i kinda just messed around the hallway to the store. By the time. I love this door. I realized it was quickly approaching dark. This was fall and darkness upon the land pretty early in the day. I didn't want to be walking those lonely secluded roads through the woods alone in the dark. So i hurried. He's fast as i could. Running and sprinting as much as possible. But it wasn't enough mother. I've made it back to the bottom of the hill near the bridge. It was almost completely dark and there was an eerie sort of glow brought about by a very bright. Nearly full moon was rising anti top of the hill. The road was perfectly straight and flat with woods on the left side in a large field on the right about a half mile up from the top of the hill. Here's my grandparents house and you can see it from there. As i top the hill i can see the faint glow of the lights at their house. And i feel a sense of relief because it was kind of freaking out a little bit but knowing i was so close and could see. The house offered a little bit of comfort. The field on the right with someone illuminated by the go. The moon am. I is adjusted to the darkness rajini. Well at this point as i walked up the road. I hear something from the left behind me on the wooded side of the road. It sounded like leaves being rustled. I turned to look. And i saw nothing at first. But then as my is beginning to focus. I see something in the ditch black shot we shape slowly moves toward me at first. I thought it was a dog. But then i realized it was much too large to be a dog and then i realize it wasn't actually walking on four legs. It was crawling like a person. Would i stare for a moment. Adam confused trying to figure out what i was seeing and then a joke. Fear shot through me as it dawned on me that whatever this thing was it. I've been trying to sneak up on me at that exact moment. This things that upright out of the ditch onto legs like a person. It had the shape of human long arms legs and was proportionate at such stood roughly seven eight feet in height and was completely covered in a black or maybe dark brown hair. It's face was dark in color. But i can't recall seeing much in the way features. Do tweet being night. Gay was no bear for certain or any other kind of animal. I had ever seen for that matter. I immediately dropped bag of stuff. I've been carrying and voltage is fast as my legs could take me toured my grandparents house. I heard a heavy breathing. Gutteral growling kind of sound behind me. And i heard this thing's footsteps running behind me on the gravel as a gay chase. I didn't turn around and with certain then. It would grammy at any moment and then heard a crash off into the woods and let out an earth shattering in ungodly scream. Unlike anything i'd ever heard. Before since i'm positive this thing could have easily caught me at a wanted to but for some reason l. Let me go by the time. I reached my grandparents. My heartfelt is if it would explode from the combination of the adrenaline rush. I add from be scared beyond any type of fear i've ever felt before since and full on sprinting. As hard and fast as possible a for about a straight half mile affluent to the house and in an incoherent mess of hyperactive gibberish. Try to explain to my grandparents. What had just happened. My grandmother didn't really seem to believe me but did believe something. It scared me and acted rather weird about the whole thing. She tried to convince me. It was just a dog or some other animal. The next morning. I woke up and found my grandpa seeing outside willing would underneath the shade tree in the front yard. As he often like to do. I went and sat down beside him. And one of the old metal lawn chairs very rational main down to earth and had grown up and hunted than areas entire life. He knew every square inch of it mapped into his mind. He knew every type of critter in creature that lived in those woods when noise they made where to find them had to catch them etc. I only been hunting with him for a couple of years but having going out into those woods within since a pretty young age on walks in such an pass on his knowledge down to me during those adventures i spoke to about what had happened to me the night before and told them that i knew what i saw. It wasn't my of imagination. I was making it up and it definitely wasn't a dog. He knew that. I wasn't just some dump thirteen old kid and he knew that i knew that thinks he taught me. He stopped widdling. Looked me right in the eyes. And said i know what you saw. I've seen it before too. There's things out in them was people don't understand and then a person are nocco fooling with. I remember those words clearly to this day because it gave me affirmation but at the same time it made me realize whatever.
