"One averaging sixteen in ten fifty nine percent shooting, both Luca. Dodgers trae younger shooting less than forty two percent. They actually shoot three pointers in do more stuff shouldn't have shooting, French. Moving a little close in Deandra, eight isn't just saw dunce. He's also jumped shooter as well. So he shot the ball, incredibly, well, and he got your double double okay Travis. I'll bet trae young. I think it was interesting that he never go back to the beginning. I know that this isn't it's just about what happened during the season. I get it but he came in in last year in the in the summer league. And it looked like he couldn't play dead. They look like there was a huge mistake by Lanta not only with the trade, but just that the guy that they took to begin with and he came in, and especially not a great defensive player, but he became on a team that didn't have a ton of offense of options or he was a really really good offensive player. No shooting percentage wasn't high. But I'd give you watch him knows last thirty games total different player. You see you should have said, like in a cowboy movie complete dead and the Cowboys play dead macabre, and is it like a bag of defensive player of the year? We have Rudy Gobert Ferenci. We have home onto coupon again another for another one. And Paul George who is your defensive player of the year or Keyshawn. So tough. When I I'd have to go with John us again. Okay. I think when he started to. In the playoffs. He kind of started to taper off a little bit. But I think in a regular season his defense was just superb. I thought that he, he in terms of dominating the big guys in the, you know, in the paint, they had bats shot selections, he created turnovers. He rebounded blocks. He did what he's supposed to do those e your defensive player of the year in the NBA. I'm going to go and root ago Barragan. Okay. Utah should not be a team that is doing anything when you look at them just Morale's to Joe Ingles, offense should be compared repairing cars right me looks like traffic out there..

"So you haven't seen it. You can go ahead and watch it. This is a spoiler review. This is real life. This this actually happened. Start that Ephron lily Collins Kayla, scored alario not exactly say your name John Malkovich. Jeffrey Donovan are are. Good boys. Jim Parsons and Haley Joel Osborn make appearances in this movie. Fomer guests the pod in future gift, Jim Parsons. And future. Guests jeffey. Donovan. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. Not getting the best reviews on both sides of the coin whether it is from audiences or critics is actually came out a while ago. I believe it Sundance film festivals campers roof Sundance fifty six percent for critics and rotten tomatoes with a five point seven out of ten fifty nine percent audience score. Yeah. I did not like this movie at all. I actually really disliked this movie. It's not at the level of being a giant piece of crap which takes me to say. But it's it's bad. It's in the bottom third of movies that I've seen this year would have been in the bottom. I've seen last year. I gave it a thirty five out of one hundred this movie. I thought it was very close to a disaster. Zack Ephron was very good at lily Collins go, but I thought Zac Efron is really good. And he someone who the right script. On his desk will pump out one of those roles that people like oh shit. I can act maybe he'll get I'm not saying Oscar nod, but I don't think he doesn't have roles. I've been on record saying that about the rock because I think he does so many fucking movies. Just like, it's it's volume thing. But if you get to conscripts, I think he could really turn out a good role. Scrip was not great here. Not a great play. But I thought he did a good job at what he had. We'll get more into a second Ken, Jack. What did you think you watched? I think on at the same time. I was watching it. Yeah. Gave it a forty one hundred. It's not very good definite. The worst movie ever I gate if it wasn't for lily Collins, performance, I think she stole the show by like a huge margin. If it wasn't for her performance. It would be like my bottom ten movies of the of the year. But she she killed it. I didn't particularly think Ephron is very good. None of the guest spots were particularly fantastic. Even my king Jeffey. Donovan only came in for five seconds. How do you how do you cast Jeffrey Donovan not give him a bit part? I know it's a Stoorikhel. But. Make that lawyer stay longer a lot of it. Like, you said you have to the screenwriting was just so terrible. Particularly in this is something apart a sequence would reached out to me John Malkovich. As the judge the Florida judge. He just kept delivering these really cheesy lines. And I'm sure that's I'm hoping that that's like an historical thing that judge actually did. And that's not like something they made up to service the script because they were fucking terrible. You get like one that stood out to me. I'm paraphrasing little here. He's like you can't be cold with me young, man. This is the sunshine state and you'll see that ice melts really quickly. And like he sounded like he was reading these off acute card. It was just it was terrible in at in find it particularly compelling at any point in. Maybe that's just because the point of view of the what's her name them. Whatever bundy's was renaming it lily Collins character. Liz rightless KENDALL. So that made just because it's from her point of view that like. Like, I just didn't really it wasn't really compelling. And I know we said when the originally announced this movie like I don't think that glorifying Serey color is good. But like there wasn't a good middle ground there. I don't think they reached a middle ground where it was telling an interesting story without while being respectful to people who got like just disgustingly murdered by psychopath and just not good not much take away from Liz clever. I guess him. I remember Carolyn boon for my knowledge of the Ted Bundy thing who the perfect Caroline Boone is in the maze runner..

I'm good job by DIGI recognizing that Stevens has little smaller Watkins, not as good a shot. Blocker Watkins is not in the game. Isolated on the low block so coming from right to left. Would have liked to have seen McConnell shoot that though after just making the three. Bolton out and Wheeler comes back in lob the ball in for me. Eugene dribbles it off his legs scramble for it. He will go and retrieve it near midcourt fifteen on the shot clock. Get it to Mathis tops for Baker near midcourt Thorson sets the screen geo. Baker has the ball poked away from behind Omori comes up the loose ball kid Bank it in shack dourson hard for the rebound. And I think we're going to get a foul. We are going get how on heroin. What are we what was that sequence? I don't know. But you did a great job describing it. I'll tell you exactly what was happening going out there that was wild. So foul on Rutgers. "We didn't forget about you. Peter Schwartz is back after he broke his hip like he's old man river, and he's ready to talk. Good strong hockey talk coming up at eleven twenty but to talk about the postseason right now. And I mean this not just because he's on hold. I swear to God almighty when it comes to baseball. Maybe when it comes to just being guested period. Here's one of my favorite guests. It is very bloom. National baseball columnist for Forbes Forbes dot com at boom ski on Twitter berry. Thanks for joining me. Sure, Ken, like, I always say, I need to bring you with me to my introductions everywhere. I love you. And I love having you on the show, but I think. I think I'm gonna make you very upset. Very, okay. Okay. Let's see. I'm not a Yankees fan. And I'm not a Red Sox fan, and I couldn't give a damn about this series. And I know that it's the most highly rated at I know, you're probably gonna tell me to pound sand. But I just can't stand this rivalry. I know it's one of the business sports to me. It's one of the most annoying berry. I can't get over it. I'm sorry. Don't hang up on me. It's okay. But, you know, fortunately, you're a real Banardi. So it really doesn't matter. Oh, just shut my mouth. Do you see my point can you at least you don't have to meet me halfway? Can you meet me like a quarter of a mile at all? Just you can't no. I can't imagine that it's going to be more fun. Baseball games that I'm going to be at the stadium. The next two nights. You make you Red Sox rivalry at in in in a five game series at the stadium. Break berry like I'll watch it. I will watch it. But I'm going to hate watch it if that makes sense you look. To go watch the Astros play the Indians, just a much better. Well, then. That's a one thirty. So I can watch I got plenty of time to watch that. But like Yankees Red Sox free. Very blue. Joining me other show. Okay. Like Yankees Red Sox? Nineteen times a year. And I every every Sunday night, see Indians. And I know. Why? The Yankees Red Sox fault that everybody pays attention to it. I gotta find something else. Stupid to say because this has got to be the stupidest that you've heard all day. I just our arguing with with tweets for three days people. I know or like upset that the Yankees and Red Sox are all the prime primetime games. And you're not getting a like a Colorado Milwaukee came in prime time. Young get it. This is about money. Demographics of this stuff. That's why these games were in prime time. You're in the minority in a very small minority on this or. Oh. Let's talk about another sport you're doing hockey in twenty minutes. Let's do it. Now. Very blue Jody. I gotta think forward it'd be by my boss from awful announcing in this was before the gosh before the NFL game started because we carry one of the NFL teams here in the city. I'm in. It's like TV is Yankees Red Sox broadcasts Friday was the most watch LDS game once since two thousand ten fifty nine percent over twenty seventeenth cubs nationals and I'm thinking. Everybody could have told you. I know what you don't what the only thing. I wanted to do. I just wanted to complain to you. I guess. Did I just want to sit here and bitch? You know, it's like you're Bunga fifty nine percent or watch it even regretting. I'm part of the problem. Not part of the solution. Very balloon joining me on the show. Okay. He wanted to talk about something constructive. Yeah. I mean, we gotta get to a right now. We'll talk about that stirs. It even though you don't you're not interested at all. No, I interested. I just not a fan of one of the teams. But I am interested in it. Whoever wins the series. Do they win the World Series between the Red Sox and Yankees? No. I really do think. The after still the best thing baseball. I mean, they're just so solid up and down. You know, they have Burt manager for a whole season this year. They didn't have carried coal last year in the postseason. You know that got Tyco now used to be their number one starter is their third starter. And he's going tomorrow. So I mean if they have a good bullpen that they didn't have last year. If you remember. You know, they have to Charlie Martin to close the AL CS to use mccullers to close the World Series because they just didn't have now they're they're replete. And they've got all the good young players that they've built up over the course of the years, and you know, until somebody bits, I see the Anki beating the Red Sox. I can see the Yankees. And I thought going into a lot of ways Yankees could beat the Red Sox. But I really do not find a way for the Yankees beat the Astros. What is the Indians problem in that series other than they might just be overmatched? No. I mean, the Indians won eighty eight games are little more with the way, you know. It's like they played in division where every other team below them was under five hundred and by a lot, you know, and they get your nineteen times. They played those teams nineteen times a year, and they just beat up on him. I mean, there are a lot of bad teams baseball this year in the American. League was so I mean, you know, the Indians have have enough pitching at enough to be good enough in that division. Tampa Bay wins that division with ninety went. So and they finished something like nineteen games behind the Red Sox. So you're just seeing where the Indians really are pecking order in in the American League going to admit that's looking more and more like the truth. Barry bloom, joining us on the show national baseball columnist for Forbes Forbes dot com at boom ski on Twitter. I'm loving the Milwaukee Brewers. I love great story. They seem to be a great story. Even though they won ninety six games. It's not like they raced from the end in our plucky or anything like that. Where do you? Find them fitting in as they get set for the CS. They could bury. Well, I thought, you know, really true. Most of the second half of the season going into the playoffs that the National League was just wide open. I mean, the top five or six teams in baseball in the American League. They're not the National League for a lot of reasons why you know, the National League has gotten to this point there primarily I think it's forty years is not h plus you can't sign older players at the American League, and to long term contracts 'cause there's no D H. There's no place to plan. I mean during the season, you know, Albert poco. So I love he's one of my closest friends left in the game of that age. You know, I told you're lucky you didn't sign with the cardinals case kid career would have been over three years ago. You know, you can't do anything. He barely can play first base. And now, you know, he heard his name this year trying to do with playing it more because they were DA ching Otani Virga part of the year. So, you know, I think that's a lot of it. And. You know, the brewers dad just become the best of a lot of bad teams of national way. I think that they could certainly, you know, go to the go to the World Series. But I'm just sorry. You know, if you have to play a bullpen game year first game of the play offs because you don't have a picture that you can use to start to start game one been a DS. Then you're not a good enough team to win the World Series. So I very very surprised if and I picked the Astros. Yeah. I don't think anybody's gonna beat they have. And I don't think that any is going to beat the walk. You can beat anybody coming out of the out of the American League. And also don't think you know, if the dodgers which dodgers seem that eventually move on. I think they'll have their hands. Full dodgers values are very thin. Very bloom. Joining us on the show how much more does it mean when we talk about MVP candidacy and Kristen yell at you. And then he does what he's done which is play. Very good baseball in the sweep of the Rockies in the postseason. Well, it just obviously punctuates the point. And there was you know, a a moment, you know, in September. I wrote a column the bat, you know, my projections for the MVP at the time and the way the diamond backs were playing and Paul Goldschmidt was playing. You know, I'd pick Goldschmidt. But then he stopped hitting the Bax all apart and the brewers kept coming yelich played unbelievable ball it as you know, the way the voting goes, you know, you have two guys who are eligible to vote in the DB W A after cast their ballots by the end of the season. So the postseason doesn't count. But it certainly does punctuate. From the point of anybody who did vote for for that award. Because it would seem to me that he would be the odds on choice at this point. Very bloom. Joining us on the show, why do pitchers Clayton Kershaw had a better at a much better outing just the other day, but why do pitchers struggled tend to struggle in the postseason is because of the along gated innings the decision making guys fighting them off even more. Is it a mix all those things because we see guys pitch so well in the regular season, and then they get to the postseason, and it's a it's a little bit of a gamble. Well, I mean, yes. And no, I'm in so far, you know, your top stud pitchers, you know, sale pitcher well Kershaw had an uncommonly good came in the postseason fan. And Berlin during cold great and even Tanaka last night or in in Boston five good innings, and if it was a regular season, I'm sure Boone would've left and then for another ending, the why'd you that? When you have all these guys stacked up in the bullpen or fresh arms. You know to get out for you at that point. So I mean, I it's interesting Kershaw because I've watched them a lot to see the sense you came back from the injury. And he's just not the same picture, which I mean, I don't think it's any it. That's any revelation. I mean, he doesn't have the hard fastball anymore. Throws ninety ninety one miles an hour. There was a game against the diamond backs. The last week of the season where you know, he did pitch into the sixth thin. And he had the four up to triple and a home run, and they were all on pitches that were eighty nine ninety miles an hour, whether they were spiders for fastballs. This is where he is. But the thing about Kershaw is that he's a good pitcher. And he knows a smart enough how to work the plate and when he keeps the ball down. And he's throwing strikes, you know, they'll pound the ball to the ground against or the pop the ball out. And he got a lot of I lane, and you know, early in the count outs against the the price tag. And it really he looked masterful even though we had to strike strikeouts. And one of them was in the last enemy pitched. So maybe he's a better pitcher at this point. Where he can't rely on the heat anymore. And so he has to find ways has to do the Matic's finding ways of getting guys out to me. He's like Barry Zito. Now, you know went berries you out for those two games with the giants two thousand twelve playoffs that saved them and one helped him win the World Series. Very bloom. Joining us on the show. He got Yankees Red Sox. They're tied at one one a piece I did read. Now, the show starts at ten. So I did read this afternoon. Your article your column about Aaron judge is he the next legendary Yankee. I he's already been unless he gets hurt. He's already the next budgetary Yankees. I mean, first of all I mean, I grew up, you know, I wouldn't it it. I'm sixty six years old the first game. I went to Janki standing. My father took me to is nineteen sixty eight years of mantles career up to this point. I've never seen. Anybody was consistent power like judge except now and he did it from both sides of the play eighty didn't have the size that judge has. So he's made himself a better hitter better outfielder where he's come from in two years you remember two years ago? He had like a buck eighty he got hurt after twenty games squad. He was out. And then you know last year he merged nowhere. And he struck out a lot this year. He has a lot more command to the plate. And he does a lot of damage for you in in different. Things and you when you watch. Stanton against judge. You see a multi dimensional player against the one dimensional player. And that that's the reason why you know Stanton doesn't do much besides on Monday strike out. And and judge does so many things. Plus, she's a great kid. He's like a mad wipe them Cincinnati came up..

And he got a lot of I swing and you know, early in the count against the the price tag. And he really look masterful. Even though we had to strike outs. And one of them was in the last enemy pitched. So maybe he's a better pitcher at this point where he does can't rely on the heat anymore. And so she has to find ways has to do the the Maddox finding ways of getting guys out to me. He's like berries. Now, you know when berries you out for those two games with the giants. And it just hasn't been twelve playoffs that saved them and one out to win the World Series. Very bloom. Joining us on the show. You've got Yankees Red Sox are tied at one one a piece I did read. Now, the show starts at ten. So I did read this afternoon. Your article your column about Aaron judge is he the next legendary Yankee. I already I mean, unless you get hurt is already the next budgetary Yankees. I mean, first of all, I mean, I I, you know, I wouldn't did it. I'm sixty six years old the first game. I went to a Yankee Stadium. My father took me to was nineteen sixty eight years of minnows career up to this point. I've never seen. Anybody was consistent power like judge except now and he did it from both sides of the play and have the size that judge has. So you know, he's made himself a better hitter better outfielder where he's come from in two years you remember two years ago? He batted like a buck eighty he got hurt after twenty games squad. He was out. And then you know last year he emerged out of nowhere. And he struck out a lot this year. He has a lot more at the plate. And he does a lot of damage for you in. Different things, and you when you watch. Stanton against judge. You see a multi dimensional player against the one dimensional player. And that that's the reason why you know, standing doesn't do much besides on Monday strike out. And and judge does so many things. Plus, he's a great kid. He's like a mad like them Cincinnati came up..

"Our some of these situations out there as well where you'll it benefits you to get that extra day off four to maybe have a longer rest period i know that something that pops up in somebody's conference room it's as well where you'll play the first game on friday and the late game on saturday after the number one seed but if you're the number two seed near playing cut of a mid afternoon game and then playing the earlier game in the semifinals so there are some of those motivations as well more really start to focus in on the conference tournaments before we can do that we've got to wrap up the regular season big weekend of games here several conferences still playing games next weekend as well before we look at some specific matchups your kyle i know there is a trend that you wanted to throw out to our listeners today yet and early interrupting because we always talk about you know finding value in a small edges that you know this is a really interesting one to me from game number twenty seven on in the season so the teams 27th game do the rest of the regular season uh favorites of fourteen and a half points are larger are seventy six fifty three into aps since two thousand ten fifty nine percent ats if you take only the home team's length fourteen and a half or more this gives to sixty point three percent ats those goes against the traditional dots not laying big points and i don't want people to take this the wrong way i don't want uh you know listeners to start laying fifteen points regularly but it is a unique situation here at the end of the season you know adam and i've talked about that here on this uh segment multiple times before at the end of the season some of these teams just don't care they're just ready to beat on you know maybe they want to get to the converts tournament maybe they just don't even care about anything the rest of the year where these teams that are at home laying a big number.
