Disney+ Has Raised Its Prices

"Mike got noticed. Recently that the price of disney plus subscription is going up. That's right if you remember back in december. I know it seems like eons ago. Disney announced the plan to increase the monthly cost of the subscription. And i got that email a few days ago too. But the price would increase on march twenty sixth so disney plus alone will increase by one dollars going from six nine a month to seven ninety nine annual subscriptions will increase ten dollars from sixty nine nine to seventy nine nine thousand nine and if you get the disney plus hulu. Espn bundled like i do. It's increasing from twelve ninety nine monthly to thirteen ninety nine per month but the entertainment giant justified. The price increase based on its aggressive content. It's called premier access for an additional twenty nine ninety nine. That sounds like a lot but you know when you take your kids to the film to the movie theater. It's more than that you know. Just me and my wife is probably thirty bucks to get in Another film that's gonna come to To disney plus on this premier accesses correla the action film the villainous from the hundred one nation story and starring emma stone. It's going to hit theaters and disney plus on may twenty eighth and another film picks ours. Luca will now stream exclusively on disney plus on june eighteenth similar to how the movie soul came out at christmas time. We whatever disney's been doing with disney plus it's work. How to Break Through Your Money Scarcity Mindset

"People talk a lot about scarcity or lack mindset or scarcity thinking people. Throw this about a lot often times. They say things like as she was just in lack thinking or she's got a total scarcity mindset and that might be true or might be projection or it might be combination of the two but either way a compassionate articulation notice is a much better choice than judgment judgment is going to keep you limited and quite frankly we all have all aspects in ourselves so you are probably seeing this aspect in yourself in not liking it and wanting to reject it and instead what if you embrace that and said yes i see that in you therefore i see in me. How is this showing up in my life. And what do i need to do to transform it gently compassionately yet directly without ignoring it. Without saying it's okay as is. I don't need to do anything differently. How can you embrace this in yourself so that you can transform it that looks like ownership of it. That looks like personal responsibility. So that's a little a little tip if you're a bit further long hair and your someone who understands the concept of scarcity thinking when you see it in someone else take that little moment that to pause and go. How is this showing up for me. Where do i need to transform this. Where do i need to release this. Where do i need to grow myself. And then do that for yourself. Okay so i. Why is this even an issue. We talked about it a little bit already in my sort of outlying of the episode but there's a bigger concern here okay so so you need to care about how your thinking about money because in business you are constantly making buying decisions. All the time in life was well outside of your business but think about your business. You're thinking about what invest your money in all the time. Should you hire team. Should you hire someone who has a ton of experience and therefore comes with a salary that is much higher or should you hire someone who's new to the game and you can grow. That's a buying decision and neither is holistically What's the word. I want in itself right or wrong. It all depends on your come from in your business where you're adding your business what you need. There's a lot of variables there but that's the bind decision. Do you invest in a new system. I remember when i was first. Starting my business and many of you might relate to this right now. Every buying decision was enormous to me that ten dollars a month app. That was going to help me. Streamline something i was like should i do. Should i not do this. Show do the annual accounts or should. I do the monthly account. Because it was. I didn't have enough. And so it and i didn't have a flesh mindset so i was always in fear around making a mistake. Now i'm not gonna go into the psychology behind the fear of making a mistake. But it's because i've done it a lot in this podcast so if you need more on that i would go search back to past episodes in really listen to it. Many people tell me that they binged listened to the podcast from the very beginning. And i encourage you to do that. Because in some ways it builds on the material that i teach in that i help people with so there's a lot to be said about stepping free of the fear of making a mistake so there is a business decision that you have a buying decision that will come into play in your business. It can be around team. It can be round systems and apps it can be around your environment. Your office space. What do you invest in. What equipment dune invest in what contractors to invest in many people com to us for coaching. And that is a buying decision. Are you willing to invest in coaching in mentorship. And what are you comparing that to. These are all buying decisions and you wanna think about this. There's an average out there that used to drive me crazy. Because i did not understand it. Which is the way we do. One thing is the way we do everything so if you notice that you are approaching money in a particular way in your business you probably doing that in your life as well.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is a new 16-bit beat-'em-up

"Needs to Turtles shredders revenge. Who thought this one coming nobody. I drink turtle's brawler stuff. Still right and that's like the one type. Eternal game that gets made besides japanese. Yeah i action games not good once. Yeah i mean yeah. We hope it's good. It has good pedigree behind it. Trivia games The guy did the one. I enjoyed last year. Very much panzer paladin. What like. I was not that interested in this because only because so many of these throwbacks end up being disappointing. Right like you're so jazz and exciting. It comes out and it's fine. You know and then and then and then it's over but this one every single portion of the announcement. I'm mike okay. Okay developer like good like they're hitting all the right notes. I could not be more jazzed. I think this is going to be the one that like actually delivers on the promise of like what. Sort of a modern throwback can be. Well yeah except that it's it's being Published by dot edu. Who last year brought a street bridge. Four which is also another great modern classic broader exactly johm. It looks so cool. it's reg. I'm not a journalist guy. So i'll i'll connect to this on the brawler level. It streets ridge four had anything that was like kind of like a meta gain. That kind of like did something. Brawlers didn't like an rpg system like mercy ransom or like castle crashers or anything like that. It had an interesting scoring mechanism. Where the longer you went. Without taking damage higher your score would go which is kinda cool and a stressful to me. I liked it. It also had a really really great animation. Of course herbals game is going for classic. Look like it is a sequel to the original turtles. Arcadian nearly nineties Our producer is writing me. That turtles in time is so much fun now. I played all the early turtles brawlers. they're fine. I played them like crazy. When i was a kid. But you guys know how i feel about brawlers need something extra or just too boring other. Otherwise it's good for you know ten dollars worth of quarters in the arcade galway's grant them that but i don't want that in my home and even with four people i'm gonna play through once maybe and it was to see all the cool pixel art and stuff so that'd be nice in this and i'm sure it'll be interesting but back in the day brawlers were cutting edge graphics. There's nothing that looked as good as them. And that was the reason for me to play them like run racers were first coming out not gonna play daytona usa ever again but i was pretty excited about daytona usa. When it was at a bank of machines in the arcade. I'll close up ten dollars in quarters into this machine. But i won't buy it for ten dollars. I wouldn't do that. It's the arcade experience in your with your friends and you're like how long can this quarter get mean this round. How much have improved since my last order experience. Exactly yeah maybe something will modify a cabinet and we can all play together to extreme or something in the future. that'd be cool way to experience. What if the game free but every time you wanted to play again at cost you asked about that. And nobody's really done. The twenty five cent per game system microsoft tried doing that with xbox live arcade border per play. It was something like that. We had to pay each play of these classic arcade games. Oh yeah one of the castle. Vania games like that. One of the xp la's spinoffs. Maybe joe was the castle vania. Excellent spin off that was like that zoom in and zoom out one which is was the cooperative one. That was really cool. I don't remember the pace anyway. You are right sam. I beat dragon and the arcade back in the day. But only because my grandpa just kept giving me quarters eventually my sister and i just four star way to our way to the end of the game where you bany or jimmy. I'm a lifelong me. There are only jimmy on the eighty. S yeah i think it's corrected or it was originally correct in their arcade The i have like a little kid. I had don't really fun. Time at the arcade playing with a friend through the simpsons. Game those my best brawler Experience we had happened to come in to a ten dollars in quarters or something. We got last boston. Did not beat the las boss. Still never finished the simpsons but it was so exhilarating and so illuminating to go through the first couple levels which costs you a buck fifty. Probably in the next couple levels which cost you probably four dollars and then the last boss which cost you four dollars by itself adds up in the set of funny way. It's it's you know it's those. Were designed to your quarters. At a point where people stopping go competitive with quarters and getting high scoring with pacman staff and of course the next era of arcades we all know with street fighter two competitive stuff that wet bridge of high tech brawlers like you know as corner starting with call it by the way. Yeah i actually have. I have a lot of affinity for brawlers. Who doesn't everybody loves him. But like you're you're completely right that. Although i do have an affinity for them like they're kind of garbage in like you know the bosses have invincibility frames and Just lockable moves. And just you know total screen wipes and like clearly like a super high level of skill. That stuff isn't a problem but for like everyday people like they just become impossible to the point. Where like you said. They're designed to you. Know to continue. Yeah so but that's why seeing them come. Home is so exciting. Because then they don't have that limitation that requirement on the commercial side on the on the capitalist side like they can just design a really really cool fudd brawling fighting combat system without the need for a bunch of bullshit bosses that That i can afford another quarter. That's casper crashers. I think they did a good job with it. Yup tina this announcement anything for you In the sense that i played like the early nineties. Konami think version the arcade version back in the day. So i had the same fondness that anybody else would just Having an opportunity to to play multiplayer game when that's a reality in the future at some point when you can sit down on a couch next to a friend and actually play the stuff. I'm also not a huge brawler fan. There's a level of consistency in sameness to them. After a while when you play them back to back. But i loved. River city ransom. Um so. there's definitely some affection in my heart for the genre overall.

For instance you can also get it for fifteen dollars if you include xbox live which if you play online multiplayer games you need that anyway and the thing with game pass to is. They haven't just been showing off like games. How Much Should You Spend on Marketing?

"Marketing. It's money we have to spend to bring in new customers. It's one of the things a lot of entrepreneurs neglect and they wonder why they're not making enough revenue one. Today's episode. i'm gonna give you a simple formula to know how much to spend to acquire customer. And how much and told to spend every single month on marketing a lot. We will go around doing this the wrong way. They kind of just think. I want to acquire customer in the cheapest way possible or i want to acquire as many customers as possible with the least amount of money. No no no okay. I'm going to save a lot of headaches a lot of time and especially money so this is what you're going through. Your first step is need to understand the ltv of your customer. The lifetime value. How much money on average does each customer spend at your business now. You might be using some sort of Data or revenue analytics tool like profit well or burr. Metrics or chart mogul but to keep things simple. If you don't have one of those tools about the way propolis freeze if you want to check them out. They can integrate with your payment processor. but an easy to figure out. The ltv is to kelly all the revenue you've ever made in your business and divide that by the number of customers you've had so the make things simple. Let's just say. I made one hundred thousand dollars in revenue in my business so far and had a hundred customers if i divide that that means my. Ltv per customer is thousand dollars on average. The amount of money i take from each customer in total is a thousand so some customers will spend more. Some customers will spend less but this is on average thousand dollars per customer. Now this could be because some customers are buying more of your stuff or coming back are staying longer. If it's a subscription service or Are buying up upsells. This all is factored in the ltv. It's an average of how much money you make per customer so this number is really important. Your ltv why because now you know how much you make per customer so every time you get a customer on average you're gonna make a thousand dollars from them in the lifetime of customers rating with you so now you know you need to acquire this customer for less money. You have to factor in how much it costs you to get this customer. Not only in terms of you know maybe add dollars of running facebook ads. But if there's somebody that's on your team that's hired to do this marketing person or using service you have to include that cost too but if you're doing it yourself then we're gonna go straight up the cost to acquire this customer so if you spent two thousand dollars to have a booth at a conference and you got four customers out of conference it costs you five hundred dollars each customer. If you're ltv's thousand that's not bad okay. You doubled but tv's three hundred. You lost the money on acquiring that customer. This why you're ltv is so important to know. How much money are you going to get by acquiring this customer so once you know your ltv you know you have this much wiggle room on acquiring that customer now. I like to at least start by spending twenty five percent of my ltv on the customer. Why because i have other expenses of my business. And i want to be able to skill this as much as possible so if my ltv one thousand. I don't want to spend more than two hundred fifty dollars to acquire that customer. Ltv is four hundred dollars. Then you spend more than one hundred dollars obviously the lower the caq. The customer acquisition cost the better. That means you are getting a tremendous amount of upside tremendous value from that customer with very little cost in your into acquire them. So that's a next thing you need to figure out. How much does it cost you to acquire a customer. Not every channel that you try to Market is gonna get you the same cac so you might run facebook ads and let's say for example. It costs you ten dollars per lead to get A lead and you can convert those into customer at a twenty five percent conversion rate. I mean it cost you. Forty dollars to acquire customer on facebook at you might sponsor a podcast and you have a unique link and that unique link tells you how many customers do get and this is why when it comes to something like sponsorships it's good to experiment and see With a few episodes how well it does. You can understand the caq so that you can double or triple down on this medium on this avenue of marketing.

The inventor of the cellphone calls on carriers to focus more on closing broadband gap

"Following. It's the second part of our four part interview with martin cooper inventor the phone. I'm roger chang and this is your daily charge or one of the issues. I've talked a lot about on this podcast and seen that in general the issue of the digital divide. I know you talked about that near the tail. Ender near the second part of your books. I'd love to get your perspective on really the deserve holistic impact of the cell phone and whether or not it's been a force for good in how it's been a force for good in closing that broadband gap that digital divide. We'll just think about this routers The whole educational system has been challenged today because the teacher gets up and gives a lecture and he's talking to a bunch of students if they're connected if they have smartphones they have access to all the knowledge the world the shakers not gonna give them information that they can find words so the whole nature of what a teacher is changes. The teacher now teaches people how to reach out for of religion. How to handle it. Taylor's educative process to individuals that having a lecturer to talk a people each different girl every other person. So we discover that what the result of this is that people's minds the challenge borden. They did before and the result of that. Is it their brains. Get bigger thinking smarter. Just think about that. Now that in this country one of the most advanced countries not in the world but in history forty percent of the students in this country do not have access to broadband wireless forty percent. Just imagine what that means over long term when the educational process chain that we end up with forty percent of the population with bigger brains. They're smarter or sixty percent and forty percent are dummies unacceptable with Broadband wireless now as essential to people as water food. So somehow that problems got to get fixed at the moment. The government is not digging right approaches. The only way to do that is through a first of all accept the fact this is essential and go to the carriers people have exclusive use of a spectrum and tell them either. You service all of the public or we're going to allow other people to do it. The technology exists to provide students with robin wireless whereas littlest cyber ten dollars a month. At that level everybody can have access to the but semi were we have to remove moves us exit seventy two big guys t verizon d mobile. They're doing a great job for the dense areas for the city's suburbs. They are not to have good job for the rural areas. They are after a good job for the people that can't afford a sixty dollars a month for a cellphone. The technology exists to do the both of those legs to handle people that can't afford into the rural areas and it's up to the government now to do figure out ways for business to provide those two kinds of services. We have to have one hundred percent accessibility for students and ultimately for everybody. Because i i'm so delighted you read the book because you know that it's not just education it's healthcare we're all going to be ultimately connected have have our bodily characteristics measured continually. There is the potential that we can anticipate diseases in people before they happen. Just because we're measuring things continually so healthcare is going to be a revolution. You can't provide after one segment of the public but public and keep it from other people so between those two issues education healthier and then you get the most important wall in. That's what your profession is is. Collaboration is getting people to talk to each other to generate ideas to people who are always more creative corporate than one person but of you got people talking to each other groups independent of time independent of where they are the potential for improving the productivity of people will be such that the idea of poverty will disappear. There's going to be enough for everybody. There is no reason why everybody can't be wealthy announced. Never worry about food or housing and everybody can't downs. The education served there.

Should Biden raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour?

"And why are you against the minimum wage. Well because it sets a precedent that says if anybody's willing to work for less than that they cannot. Right i mean it's the federal government inserting itself into a business arrangement between two people and the idea that somehow the minimum wage in new york city or on an alaskan Fishing boat needs to be the same as somebody working at a mcdonald's in rural mississippi I know that mississippi is the poorest eight right now. So i mean this is a big country and the federal government doesn't really have any business Getting involved in people's individual deals but if it does it at the very least should do ones that doesn't get people fired at the I think it's the government accounting office I believe is the organization they have done a nonpartisan look at this and yes the people who retained their jobs would have a better life after the minimum wage was raised however some people would lose their jobs over the course of the period of time after the minimum wage was instituted. Well and think about what it does to the people who are earning currently. So you've got the eight dollar an hour worker. You've got the ten dollars an hour worker. You got the fifteen dollars an hour worker. All of a sudden they all make fifteen bucks an hour but the one guy who is making the fifteen worked hard to get more than the eight in the ten but worked hard for ten years to get there and now he's just

"So viacomcbs held its big investor presentation paramount plus which is rebranded and rebooted version of an existing service called. Cbs all access. What did we get yesterday yesterday. There was this three. Plus our event designed to unveil the scope of paramount plus says this revamped version of cbs. All access in a kind of inauspicious. Start this event that was supposed to talk about how the company is going to be really competitive and streaming ended up starting half an hour late because they were having problems streaming so that wasn't a great place to start but generally the main focus last night was squarely on programming all the titles that they're going to be creating the originals the exclusives movies and shows that they're going to be leading into sort of cbs's stable of networks and brands and intellectual property in order to hopefully they hope draw new subscribers to service that has been around almost since the very beginning of services like this. Yeah let's take into that. Because cbs all access has largely been known for shows like star trek discovery and well star trek card and star trek. Lower deck's star trek. What else are we gave from paramount. Plus it how does it differ from. Was he this. All access had been about the last two years. Generally i would say that. The basic proposition of paramount plus is pretty similar to cbs. All access some of the things that make. Cbs all access a little bit. Different from other streaming services is baked into ciba's access. You get a live feed of Your local cbs channel most streaming on demand streaming services. Don't have both. I kind of live and on demand element integrated within them. That doesn't really change paramount. Plus the things that are going to be changing. Like i said it's really about how they're trying to expand people's concept of what's this entire company a includes and so what that is that they're going to be making a lot more originals based on things from comedy central and tv from nickelodeon there's going to be a rugrats boot and an entire new studio dedicated to avatar the last air bender Universe shows in shorts and movies and they're going to be leading really hard into the paramount. Pictures movie studio that the company also owns. They're going to be reviving some franchises from that movie studios past and they're also going to be bringing a few of paramount pictures new theatrical movies to permit plus to stream earlier than would be normal. This is nothing like hbo. Max streaming every single warner brothers. New movie the same day as it hit theaters but subscribers to promote plus a will have the opportunity to stream movies like quietly to the new mission impossible mission impossible. I think at seven on the of subscribers will be able to stream that basically a month and a half after those movies hit theaters. So for example quiet place equal you'll be able to stream in november. That's not as aggressive as as some other services but it does change the proposition. Little bet from what people were used to. Cvs all access right and so. Let's get some details. How what is the service actually launched and home was the cost and did it does it differ from. What's he has. All access was charging. Yeah well this is something. I was kind of surprised that this is going to be such a confusing transition. What's happening is in one week on march fourth they will essentially replace. Cbs all accesses premium tier with paramount plus in a launch on the fourth in the us and across countries some countries in latin america as a ten dollar a month subscription. And that gives you everything on the service. Add freight then in june going to widen paramount plus to be sickly launched a cheaper ad-supported limited tier. That's five dollars month so that's comparable with similar tier that's already on. Cbs all access. So both of the services have these kind of like cheaper ad-supported tears and premium more expensive inclusive tears but ammo plus is going to be rolling them out in. This staggered way which is going to create some confusion for current subscribers and also perspective subscribers know. There's going to be period of a few months where there's going to be multiple apps that have the cbs name in them was have the paramount name in them. And it's going to be hard. It's not as simple proposition for consumers to figure out what they wanna get and where they can actually get it with all those moving parts happening at once so we saw out some difficulty with. Hbo max when hbo max launched last year when they had not only at hbo max as an app out in the market but hbo go and hbo now still existed as made that transition. That was a really bumpy road for them for a while. Because of consumer confusion now add in the element that there is not only just like. Hey there's one subscription it's one price none of that change now. Add in the fact that you've got to tears which launches at one time one of which doesn't launch until another time and those things have different. They unlock different. So it does seem like it's setting up a really a really bumpy transition for them to

Do Produce-Saver Products Really Keep Food Fresh Longer?

"My friend gary rights. I've been seeing ads for products that claim to absorb ethylene which allows produce to last longer to these products. Work would baking soda or activated charcoal. Do the same thing. I think we've all had the disheartening experience of having to throw away expensive fruits and vegetables because we didn't use them up quickly enough. No one likes to waste money of course but there's even more at stake with food waste we throw away. Shocking percentage of the food that we produce which is especially tragic when you consider how many people around the world experience hunger on a daily basis hunger and food. Insecurity is not just an issue in developing nations here in the united states the richest nation in the world within ten percent of households typically struggle to put food on the table and that number has increased by sixty six percent just since the beginning of the covid nineteen pandemic right now. Fifty million americans including seventeen million children do not have enough to eat on a regular basis. No matter where you live if you are lucky enough as i have been to have weathered this year long crisis without worrying about whether you'd be able to feed yourself and your family. Perhaps you will join me in donating to your local food bank or an organization like feeding america dot org. And if you or someone you know is experiencing hunger or food insecurity. You don't have to go it alone if you are in the. Us feeding america dot org can help. Connect you with resources in your area. Food waste is also a major player in climate change. Rotting food is responsible for almost ten percent of greenhouse gas emissions globally. In fact if oud waste were country it would come in third after the united states and china in terms of impact on global warming and fresh produce about a third of all the food that we throw away all of which is to say if a ten dollar product can keep us from throwing away so much food it would be money well spent and i'm happy to report that there is some solid science to support them but their usefulness maybe just a bit more targeted than the marketing sometimes suggests ethylene is a harmless gas. That's released or exhaled if you will buy fruits and vegetables. In general ethylene. Production increases as fruits ripen. And turn accelerates the ripening process so when we put unripe fruit in paper bag the idea is to trap some of that ethylene. That's being given off by the produce and use it to hasten the ripening process this works especially well for apricots bananas mangoes tomatoes avocados and melons. They're all particularly sensitive to ethylene gas. But once fruit is ripe continued exposure to ethylene can cause the fruit to become overripe and start to rot. Ethylene can also speed the decline of other types of produce according to horticultural scientist kathleen brown of penn state university at the lean can cause carrots and parsnips to get bitter broccoli and kale to turn yellow cucumbers and summer squash to get soft and mushy asparagus to turn tough apples to get mealie and lettuce to wilt herbs such as parsley and mint are also particularly sensitive to ethylene gas now low temperatures across the board reduce plants sensitivity to at the lane so just keeping produce refrigerated will help to preserve it for example if your avocados get ripe before you need them. You can hold them for a few days by putting them in the fridge. I find it most effective to move them into the fridge when they're still maybe a day short of fully ripe because some ripening will continue in the fridge but it goes much more slowly in addition you can use something to absorb ethylene gas. Today's episode supported by hair food. Hair food believes in feeding your hair like you. Feed your body with simple clean and nourishing ingredients it. Produces the softest and silk strands. You can imagine hair. Food offers different collections for every hair type and feature like the nourishing collection infused with the essences of coconut milk and chai spice for soft and healthy strands. It nourishes while it cleanses leaving your hair silky smooth and you won't believe how good it smells. It's like a warm mug of coconut milk. Chai plus haircut is always free of sulfates parabens dyes and mineral oils. I know i always appreciate products. That do a great job in smell. Good while they're doing it. So if you wanna feed your hair. Delicious nourishing ingredients feed it hair food. All their products are under ten dollars. And you can find them at amazon walmart and zeolite is a complex of minerals including aluminum and silica. That's highly absorbent. It's used as drying agent to suck moisture out of the air. This is also the stuff that makes clumping cat litter work but it also absorbs ethylene. Gas zero lights are widely used by food growers shippers and retailers to extend the life of fruits and vegetables in transit by slowing down the ripening process produce saving products that you may have seen in the consumer marketplace such as the green produce bags or the hollow ball. That you place in the crisper drawer of your fridge contain zeolite. And they are effective at absorbing lean and they can prevent types of spoilage. The bags are reusable but they do eventually lose their effectiveness. You can also buy a rechargeable zeolite filled ball to place in your crisper drawer to absorb ethylene gas now. Gary also asked whether baking soda or activated charcoal might be effective at absorbing ethylene. I can't find any data to suggest that baking soda would be particularly useful here. Activated charcoal can absorb but not nearly as effectively as zeolite. Interestingly that rechargeable ball. it's called the blue. Apple contains both zeolite and activated charcoal but the manufacturer only talks about charcoal in their marketing. I wonder if they think that charcoal sounds more natural and therefore would be more appealing to consumers than something unfamiliar like zeolite but in terms of absorbing ethylene gas. I suspect it's the zeolite that's actually doing. The heavy lifting their the chuckle may also have some odor absorbing properties. Keeping your produce in special ethylene absorbing bags may indeed extend the shelf life. Keeping high at the lean producers particularly apples and avocados quarantined from your other produce can also help just remember that ethylene is only one thing that can shorten the life of your produce and ethylene absorbing bag isn't gonna prevent moldy berries or slimy lettuce for example. The best way to keep fruits and vegetables from going bad and going to waste is really to eat them up

"Out of the way have you ever called the store? You couldn't find them. You looked on Google maps. It wasn't an exact thing I don't know where you are. You're in like a giant. Giant shopping complex. So even though you're in the shopping complex, it's massive this malls and split off stores and you don't know exactly where the store you're looking for is and you call them always I've done that where I call a restaurant I say, Hey, what exit? Parkway. Right and sometimes. In, one direction, it's one exit but in the other direction, it's a different exit. And they don't. If you'd think they'd know that right you think they would know right off the parkway. Oh it's one forty one. If you coming from the South One forty two if you come from the north, no, they just say one forty one because that's how they drive to work and they screw you well, I had a problem I wanted to go to bed bath and beyond that's scary of you ever been to the Jersey Gardens Mall I know you have longtime ago stopped going there. Yeah. Okay. pissed me off. It's a it's a mall with carpeting. Have carpeting. Not. In. You people picturing luxury. It's. It's like it's like basement company waterproof carpeting. It's weird in a mall. It's a weird weird situation. Okay. I hate that place. Experience there. All right. They have the mall and it's this massive massive space where it used to be like swampland. Now this like there's a giant movie theater. Yeah. It's a massive complex planes at Airports Airport Land Parallel to the Jersey Gardens massive. Blind off the Jersey Turnpike yes, and it's close to the stinky area and the turnpike. So anyway, when you go on Google maps or ways if you try to find a store, it's approximate right because it's not in the mall. So they have all these off-shoot buildings. It's gigantic this probably like fifteen mini malls surrounding the big mole, Ryan K., and then to get around, there's a giant circle. There's a giant circle road that goes all the way around the whole thing. Well, I haven't been to this mall not one of my favorite malls. I. Have Not been to the small I. Don't know maybe ten years. So, it's gotten much larger since the last time I was there more buildings more mayhem craziness. Yep. I don't know a bed bath and beyond is in regards to the Big Mall. I have no idea even on the map it's not an exact find it. So I, pull over by the movie theater. Now, the movie theater is gigantic and you can on it's so big as a front parking lot in the back parking lot. Okay I pull into the back parking lot of the AMC movie theater and I call bed bath and beyond and I get the woman on the phone I? Say Hey.

But I wore jeans jeans and I went out to dinner with my friend who was those light party was having sex for the first time. I'll let you know when that happens so. It was it was weirdly liberating but weird, it was too. So we sat outside, of course, there were people inside but like not GonNa do that. We sat outside there were heat yourself I do hostile speak for. Contain I I'm saying, I, don't want to science. Oh, I sat outside the Great. Okay. So we sat by these giant heaters. So it was nice and toasty. It wasn't. It was maybe sixty five degrees it wasn't terrible. This place, we went to built an outdoor patio to theme restaurant in the area, they built an outdoor patio. They were building it anyway, but they made it bigger than they planned for this for what's going on in the world. So we got a nice table and then so the tables wore spaced out sorta like a checkerboard. So diagonally there was someone like six feet away that make sense. Yes. Like a checkerboard. Yes. So behind you maybe ten feet away. Agnew? Okay so It was weird because the menus were made a paper. Yup Right. They didn't have like the real menus a lot of times they did Qr Code and you'd have to just aim your. These menus were made a paper they were printed nicely, Yep I forgot to get some left something in my car I needed. I was able to just walk from my table to my car in the parking without a mask no mask a mask on. Would you forget? My glasses 'cause I default on the paper was really small side to get my glasses to read to read the paper. Irrelevant but I was able like to go to the restaurant I was like Oh there's my college over to the car. So we ordered the food and I forgot like ordering Soda and appetite I had almost forgotten like the given take like the dance of the ordering I forgot everything because it's been so long. So I ordered my my diet coke no ice and we ordered the meals. He picks up the menus, the paper menus, the waiter. Andy was fantastic by the way and he takes the Menus and crumbles them up and throw them away. But it was like I felt like he was saying you guys are gross I'm throwing you. You stood what we doing. But I didn't experience it. No it's always great. The waiter kept his mask on the whole time we masked up when we weren't eating right and that's great covering our faces, what we chose to do for the most part while we sitting there. However sometimes..

I was invited to this on Halloween weekend which yeah, it's it's. You hate weddings on holiday weekends I hate weddings on holiday weekends. I don't. Want to rehash that. My point was only to say as someone I know hates like an actual big deal like a wedding is a big deal right? That's somebody puts it on a holiday weekend. I. Know It's to say bunny or make it convenient to fly everybody's off work I get it scary. Doesn't like Incan being inconvenient but it's holiday weekend another self absorbed. There For it's not my favorite. It's like you understand I fought lands you're coming to my wedding on Thanksgiving okay. Well, I wouldn't do that. But if you give somebody like a year and a half to plan Memorial Day weekend. I get what my only point was as someone who doesn't like going to a wedding on a holiday going to a gender reveal party for someone you don't know for someone your girlfriend, sue. Makes it that much worse? That's what I'm really does but but I. Can Wedding. Labor. Day. Weekend wedding if you think about a brody, most of America does not get three day. They. You know. So so the the fact that you get a few in the calendar year where maybe you could make something extra of that weekend baby right? Do a little steak or drive somewhere. You're not going out on, you're not losing your holiday Halloween. Fuck Yo how about but okay. What if this wasn't Halloween Halloween weddings are popular against. Nine. "A woman. She's probably like sixty five, seventy years old. I guess she didn't have Internet and home or the technology is Internet. What is Internet? She was standing in the middle of Pc Richard either oh was an ipad display maybe I pad that they were selling or tablet. Or? Computer I remember it was she was face timing. It was before zooms it was probably facetime or no it was. What's the other one? skype she was skyping. Remember that. Typing thousand seventeen, watch her daughter. I guess daughter was back in the home country I. think that's what was. For some reason, she couldn't make it there. Maybe she was across the country whatever was. So she was in the middle of this traffic store for agenda reveal party for for our soon to be. Grandchild. Right. But so I was happy to be shopping. So sized what he doing Chicago I'm watching a gender reveal party. My daughter's going to announce what she's having. So she stood deaf like a half hour I was shopping my God I, come back and she's still standing there because they weren't ready yet. Day. and. Let me know. Let me know. Having on will you let him? You let the mom look you're not gonna be with us today. It's great. It's great. They have this woman standing in electronics store. And you know what I love. You know how self absorbed? My wife and I did a gender reveal for our third child to ourselves. Right set yoursel-, we had the obstetrician, put an envelope put in the envelope what we're having because we we wanted to find out privately. Right just between the two of us not in front of the obstetrician. What we were having. So, in the privacy of our own home after a nice dinner, we opened the envelope and we celebrated that knowledge together. That's cool and then we called our relatives and said Hey. What's going on right and we were ready like later of course. Yeah. But. Now people you know the first of all. I think it's Ballsy to do one of these, but it's even more ballsy to do it. Oh, it's Halloween weekend. Who cares it's not like. Families don't have kids that may be trick or treating or doing these socially distant events whatever you're doing for the pandemic. Zoom call all the ten minutes zoom call. It's like you have to fucking not even that it's not worth it now I'm not getting on your Goddamn zoom call for your gender reveal now is doing this. Friend or your friend selfish it's. It's an acquaintance of hers Oh Acquaintan- acquaintances right. Show quaint and maybe it's a friend of hers. Up with asking how much the baby weight a friend she sees every day we'll put it that way. Then why would you wanna see them then? Like if I'M GONNA risk my life exaggeration. "Get Away. With painting it because if they huddled up against the fence and didn't take step back onto my property. Right. Okay. So the guy from the institution. Said I'M GONNA. Call it Gardner box. It's easier. It's. In the box. Jenkins God the Guy From God God in a box. Emails me back and he says, I'm sorry I don't know anything about this. I don't know I don't know what you're talking about. So I saw Robeco, how do you? He says I'm home right now I said you don't know that somebody painted defense. What was it? I said well, it Saturday now and I was out by my pool on Wednesday. Thursday or Friday. He's well I'll. I'll have to investigate this. Gets back to me and he says, well, we rent the parking lot out. On Thursdays to the local boy scouts. They use it for meetings and whatnot. Sorry. Maybe, it was a boy scout project. So he says I know they were doing cleanup. I said well, okay. Let me investigate. Okay. So it gets back to me says, the boy scouts thought they were doing a favor. And decided to paint the fence white all. I said, well, why would they pay my side I? Don't know I don't know the answer to that. Roy say well, YOU'RE GONNA have to take the paint off the fence Oh shit because it's an eyesore and my neighbors said the same thing like a bed neighbor brody's they're. Here we go. You'RE GONNA have to, I'm telling you. This is going to become a problem because they're going to argue against it now, they didn't know you so you negative Nancy. So they said, no, we'll. We'll take care of it. What are you want? I said well, they said we can stain over the paint and stain at Brown I said no because it's going to look like white paint would stay not. It's terrible. I just wanted to look like it used to look. They said. All right. Well, yeah we'll do that. We'll hire somebody will pay for it. I have to figure out the budget and we'll get someone to remove the paint, and if it doesn't come off, we'll we'll put some options on the table few whatever you like being very commenting very nice of them. My neighbor says that's fine. So what's today? Thursday? We recorded on Thursday. So on Friday of last week, they start the process of removing the paint on my neighbor's property. They don't have a pool. So behind their house, it's like boom fence. My Pool in the bushes sort of blocked defense, it's not as bad. So they do the fence half third on Friday by neighbor a third on Saturday of my of my neighbor..

"Care song lyric. He starts singing if I hear something that sounds like a song lyric. But I've been that Louis my whole life. Right we used to play game at Z one hundred are station here here in New York. And a friend Kobe who's now on Light FM in New York when any anyone say a line from song like oh. Yeah. I said that guy he was breaking the law, he'd go thanks Judas priest like he would thank the band and call you that ban for saying that line right they wouldn't. We wouldn't sing the song or the next lyric and would just be that and and the game never did come to an end. We try to outdo each other the best. The best example of ending would have been if we confronted the artist if the artists said the name, their own saw allow challenge right or a weird. Song, and then the other had to put it away. We have to put it on by saying all right blanks. So for instance, I think this happened with Janet Jackson. Cubby has claimed to end the game was Janet Jackson was in one day and she goes I brought these they're all for you and then he goes alright Janet Jackson. You're because it's hair right? Yeah. It was her song all for you. I think you're right on that. So anyway. So I. Don't know about fifteen years ago the religious institution. Behind. My building behind my house made their parking lot bigger and the parking lot took away part of the forest in my backyard, my private backyard. So when they were doing that I said listen guys. If you're going to do that I'm GonNa have a parking lot in view of my backyard that that decreases my property value. That's not good. So I went to the municipal court in town and I. Basically. Force fought them on this I force them. To build a fence. A wooden fence, a six foot high fence hind my property all the way up the block to the other properties that were affected because if they got a permit to make their parking nephew Herbert, this is God's country and those parking spaces of his disciples. What do you do? You're trying to you take that away from them okay. So this was a long time ago, but everyone on the block. Thank me. All right. So it's basically a would colored fence right? It's not painted. It's not stained. It's what color. So behind my pool I have I don't know about six feet. I have a fence around the pool ever about six feet behind the fence where you can walk and then as. We're like deer run by through my property they go by the fence and then passed my pool fence is wooden fence. So there's about six feet and in that six feet I, WanNa say one foot is their property and a few feet or my property. So that makes sense. Yes. Okay. So I. For your feet hold on, I get a text message from my neighbor to my a facing my house to the left and he says, did you know anything about the fence? So what are you talking about? He says, well, I'm not home. My wife just texted me that somebody painted the fence white. What Why would anyone paint our side of the fence white that's gotTA. Look Awful. He's Oh I hear it looks terrible. So we both rush home and I get home and not the fence goes. From my house. To, the goes to the left about eight houses but only the first two houses from right to left. With fence ends or starts depending on if you're an optimist or not. Behind my house in his house, it's white and WHO's fence is that It belongs to the religious institution. Okay..

"We'll call. You're of course US currency. Have you ever met bills from other parts of the world? I did actually meet a Canadian dollar once. Yeah, he was in the wallet for a little while. It was a really awkward I thought it was I I was excited. 'cause like been always just around American currency, and I was like Oh. My Gosh, it just felt so exotic to have. To have a Canadian in there But it was not a great thing and I. Do I have to say I do kind of blame myself, but I I wasn't trying to. We're both ten dollars. But I was just trying to think I got a little too deep into global economics with them and I was trying to explain that. Even though he's ten dollars, he's not worth as much as me. Which even saying that out loud just does Jerky I think it would be hard to here. Yeah, it's not nice and I tried to buy it back by saying you know, but things could change imports exports. You know and maybe one day you'll be worth more than me. But at that point. He was totally shut down. Can I ask? Did he have the smell? And I really WanNa talk about that. She here resident actress speaking hi is Dina N-. Deans talking right now? Okay cool by. Dean there you. Do you have a few minutes? Right? Now are sure do. So I see you wrote an article for the Canadian Press in twenty thirteen. The headline is due Canada's new plastic. Bills Smell like maple syrup. Can. You just tell me basically what was going on there? Well Canada introduced a new series of plastic bills in two thousand eleven, and the first bill to come on the scene was a hunt. The hundred dollar bill which was released in twenty eleven, and I noticed as a reporter I noticed on social media, a lot of chatter about These bills had peculiar smell. Some people had this idea that that they had somehow been impregnated with Smell of Maple Syrup. So I just found that kind of odd. I I did get hold of one and I fought for everything I did I could not get it to smell like maple, syrup or anything else for that matter. But This belief was so strong on social media that I I wondered whether the were of the currency which is in candidates, the Bank of Canada that's responsible whether they had gotten any kind of correspondence from ordinary Canadians, but it and it turned out. I used our access to information. Act to get that correspondent. It turns out. There was a lot a lot of correspondent saying. You know I'm having. A dispute with my wife. She doesn't think they smell like Maple Syrup and I do. Can you resolve it for us or? Where do I scratch it to get the smell? But I should say the Bank of Canada absolutely denies that there was anything put in that bill, no impregnation of any smell of any kind. So you've filed an access information. We in the United States. We have the freedom of information. Act, I guess it's the same thing In the process of doing that, are you? Are you like writing a letter that says I WANNA. Know everything all correspondence relating to the possible smell of Maple Syrup on our currency. Is Pretty much exactly that. It was a guess on my part, but sure enough. The bank had tons of correspondence that they refused to release to me initially by the way I had to fight to get them do it. They're really they're trying to keep the LID on the maple. Syrup conspiracy. Yeah, so so okay, so the Bank of Canada firmly denies it. You've never experienced it yourself, but you. You've read correspondence from hundreds of people who insist that was the case. your your best guess of an explanation for what's happening. Power of suggestion you know somebody. Somebody posts something on. Social Media. And you know these things just move at the speed of light, and and it just catches on. You know it's a kind of a strange phenomenon. Yeah! I. Mean we read so much about conspiracy theories? that. The the idea that the Canadian currency is centered like Maple Syrup is I think the most harmless kind of kindest? Conspiracy I've ever heard. I think you're right. I did so benign. Conspiracy theory that's. You know not hurting anybody right it's it's It's not disparaging anybody. It's just it's just kind of fun. That's that's it. You know just kind of fun..

The S. now so an atheist then God. We trust tattooed on you. It's not a great. It's confusing. I don't really go in all this patriotic stuff. I don't really I love.
