"But i e spn. I am betting on jake. Paul with people at work are looking at me crazy. This is the exact opposite of the mayweather situation. Me this is every may is not boxing. You don't train how to box you don't train. The skill set and the rule set to one punch ko clock. Somebody and knock him out is extremely difficult somehow. Jake paul is learn how to do this but even then it is very hard because you can take the knee. Get the ten count. There's a lot of stuff that is different than mma. You can clinch. If you're in trouble you can survive rounds. Things are very different. Punches come at different angles to land punches the glove size or you can use gloves to block. More effectively jabs are more effective. All the things. I've not seen from tyron woodley. Embroiled guy throwing lunging right hands over the top. I don't see how that translates no matter. How good of an athlete. You are man So tired talking to people about this because people say you know there's been a lot of people have text me time was gonna kill j. paul and i was like how you figure. He's got power in his right hand. Conor mcgregor sharing work against floyd. Jake's floyd yeah no but boxing. Mma like football and baseball are like to. They have a ball. Everything is different and this analogy is going way too far because yes obviously contacting all this other things. But boxing is an aspect of intimate no fighter in mma trains boxing exclusively. They box for clinch take downs There's kicking involved. you're barefoot. you're an octagon and not a ring. Spacing is different. Technique is different. There are no elite defenders in mma. None think about this people. Nobody is an elite defender now. I'm not saying. Jake paul vendor. I don't know who. I'd take style bender pretty well in a boxing match as an elite defender. He can get out of the way punches. At least yeah you gotta lotta shit about him. It may it will show. I take him as a defender. But i don't know if i could because that's not his style he didn't he didn't like restive right into be defensive. Then he uses other his defense emory. You don't do that. It's who gets to who i their game plan they cover up. Because you don't know still coming from body kick head kick hook whatever clinch takedown. There's so many things you gotta worry about. But then when you have boxing involved and you find somebody like jake polls betraying this for three years was i gotta worry about shit. Come right down the middle. That's the one thing that mma fighters don't really worry about that's why enemy fighters with a decent jab leaving a great job. A decent jab our problem because mma fighters don't necessarily understand how to get around jab footwork totally different worlds cutting off the ring totally different world now that to the fact time will he's gotta wash his last few fights and yeah people go so jake. Paul is different but do you think the conditioning is different tire. Will he goes out there and thinks like he usually does goes balls to the wall in the first round blows his gas tank. And now we're in the round four and he's exhausted against jake paul. Because he's like. I fight twenty. Five minute fights in the ufc. Sarah's nathan no. It's apples. Oranges is not is not the same thing. The pacing is different. How you control yourself is different. When floyd fought conor mcgregor. Floyd got that ring and said he's going to give me everything he's got from the opening round because that's the only way may fighters knew how to fight. They don't pace themselves. Give me everything he has and connor gave him everything he had. It's kinda got tired. And what if floyd do stood in front of him people were like. Oh you know he got a lotta offense in. No he didn't connor was staying was was standing in front of connor to bait him into throwing punches. 'cause what floyd newest can't do this shit all night i can. He can kinda can't defend once. Connor is tired. He's right for the picking and would've floyd do gases ass by walking them down because when a fighters coming towards you. It's exhausting asking about pressure is like the matter left. People say that pressure was exhausting. Continue to deal with it. He's not coming to punch to get him off you. That's what floyd did. Connor made it easy easy night. He just paced himself. Figure it out. Not saying jake. Paul is going to do the same thing. I guarantee you that if tara will the as two ways to he's either going to come straight at him or is going to wait too long. it picked off. Does he have a chance. A one hitter quitter sure. Did you see tire. Will he throw a three punch combination. Never gay piece sub though shot tomorrow sma kamara loose miami. Go back to nate. Marquardt like jake. Paul even works off of a nice jab. Yeah jake paul could ever glass tyrant. Willie could beat them. But when the line opened up jake was like minus eight hundred dollars. I should be like mice to fifty at least in my mind. Because i've seen j box haven't seen tiring win and i liked tyrant and i know. He thinks he can win this fight but the other thing is i can guarantee you. They're gonna get in his head. I can guarantee guaranteed to the point. Where tires was gonna wanna come out and kill them if jake just weather's whatever time.

Twitter Hackers Arrested
"We have learned more about who's behind who is believed to be behind the twitter hack. And you know not some four. Powerful state-sponsored cybercrime gang, just A. we believe a seventeen year. Old Kid His name is all over the tech press. I heard you not wanting to say it on on, Mac. Breglio. So but I do have it in the show notes. To find it I mean. Yeah. You know I come from the School of journalism where you don't say the names of miners were accused of crimes, but apparently nobody else does that. So the AD the local Florida news channel. WFL talks Tim right away. They outed him as Graham Clark from Tampa Bay Florida. We. So they also. Suitably creepy, picture. Of Him. I know in fact in fact before. I reduced in size I. Actually had in the show notes. He looks a little bit like spock at so. got kind of a pointed ear. Is Little bit creepy. And, it's interesting too that his nick is Kirk. So Oh, maybe. Two Years Yeah. So Anyway the the the sad thing is this guy's life is now seriously sparked up. Yeah. He's been charged with felonies relating to computer communications and organized fraud for scamming hundreds of people using compromised account according to a press release from Hillsborough State Attorney. Andrew Warren's office. This guy Grab Clark. Now. Faces Thirty Felony Charges? So we have one count of organized fraud involving more than fifty thousand dollars, seventeen counts of communications, fraud of over three hundred dollars. One count of fraudulent use personal information. For an amount over one, hundred, thousand dollars or thirty or more victims. Ten counts of fraudulent use personal information and one count access to computer or electronic devices without authority and scheming to defraud. So in total thirty counts of felony charges, all of those felonies. So I mean I do feel like unfortunately, there's there's sort of a bit of. overreaction I, I, mean I get it that. This was not good and certainly that the law enforcement wants to send a message like don't do this even if you can Initially, the the initial announcement didn't indicate whether Clark had any partners in crime, but a few hours after the press conference announcement, the world learned that the US. DOJ had also filed charges against two other suspects believed to have helped Clark in this hack. The first of those was identified as Mason Shepherd who who's known as chair Juan nineteen years old living in Bognar Regis in the UK and the other is identified as Nima Fazackerley. Also known as Rolex twenty, two year, old residing in Orlando Florida. The US Attorney Anderson said there is a false belief within the criminal hacker community that attacks like the twitter hack can be perpetrated anonymously and without consequence today's charging announcement demonstrates thus I think an example has been meeting is being made. That, the elation of nefarious hacking into a secure environment for fun or profit will be short lived. Criminal conduct over the Internet may feel stealthy to the people who perpetrated, but there's nothing stealthy about it. In particular. He said, I want to say to would be offenders break the law Ed. We will find you please. So exactly the kind of thing hackers go. knows. That's GonNa, really scare me, I remember when I was a teenager. And in Fact Leo, did this did I? You know I was always a good kid. But oh, to be seventeen and have done Brazi network in front of me. Yeah. Yeah. Twitter early, fairly clever. Because, well, go ahead because it the way did it was kind of kind of interesting. Yeah. So for their part twitter disclosed a bit more about the nature of the attacks. They said that the that the phone based social engineering attack allowed the attackers to obtain the credentials of a limited set of employees, which then made it possible to gain access to twitter's internal. Internal Network and support tools although not all of those employees were who are initially targeted had permissions to use account management tools. The attackers you know apparently, just actually just Graham was able to use their credentials to then access twitter's internal systems and gain information about twitter's processes that expanded knowledge then enabled the attackers to target additional employees who did have access to twitter's privileged account support tools. Reuters also had reported something that I had not seen elsewhere, which was that as of Earlier. This year. More than a thousand twitter employees and contractors had access to twitter's in tools and could change user account settings in hand control over to others a thousand. And this was a key. To former twitter employees. Well as we know such widespread access makes it difficult if not impossible to defend against the sort of hacking that occurred.

R. Kelly's Sexual Assault Controversy Hasn't Impacted His Royalty Earnings
"Friday, the singer and producer R Kelly was arrested on ten counts of aggravated sexual abuse. He posted bail in his due back in court on March twenty second after several women shared stories of Kelly's sexual physical and mental abuse in the cable series surviving R Kelly his record label RCA said that it was parting ways with a singer yet Kelly is still making money for his music in a recent article enrolling stone music business writer, Amy Wong cited a Nielsen report that shows are Kelly's music streams had nearly doubled in the days following the surviving R Kelly premier when we spoke Wong explained why dropping in order to the modern streaming age is not so simple. So it goes back to this peculiar nature of the way. We listen to music nowadays in the CD era. You supported an artists by buying their physical CD or even itunes you would bite digitally. Now, you stream it which means that they're getting your attention positive or negative. So if for instance, you were someone who hasn't listened to R Kelly in ten years, you saw the news, and you're sort of just curious what is Kelly sound. Like, I forgot what was his big song and you streamed at you're actually unintentionally making money for our Kelly because those royalties are being paid out bias dreaming service like Spotify. And then when the labels splits with an artist, they don't really just get out of business entirely, right? They're still deals. They're still publishing. The artist is still making money through the label or the publishing arm is that right as well. Yeah. That is right. So in the streaming era, it's a little bit tricky to say that you actually dropped an artist because there's no consensus on what that actually means previously. If you drop to artists, it would be the end of their career, they might not ever get any money again because no one will release their music. However, even our Kelly never releases any other music in the future. He's still making money off of what's called the back catalogue. Which is the music is already released from RCA that is now on streaming services, which will continue to be streamed profited off of swollen obvious kind of comparison would be a publisher who says they're not going to publish works from a novelist that novelists has maybe a dozen books at the publisher bookstores call up and say, we need another one hundred copies, and they send them off. So they're not working in the future with an obelisk. But they're still selling books as record label would sell streams or Buzek publishing or even CD's. That's right. Yeah. And the sort of the problem with the idea of dropping someone you can sort of applaud record label or publisher for that matter and shea they're doing the right thing. But ultimately, it's more of a virtue signal than anything because they're saying they won't do something that future while maintaining that prophet string from someone's past. So before any of these new developments happen Spotify. Last year took our Kelly's music and the music of XXX and Tasio from its playlists and received a lot of criticism and backlash and Spotify. Later, retracted, those removals, however music platforms trying to figure out what they can. And should do with artists like R Kelly, and how are they trying to enable listeners to be able to limit access to artists like R Kelly. It's a really tricky and unique situation what Spotify did which was attempt to do something very well intentioned. So they wanted to not support our Kelly, but it came off as, you know, Spotify saying that they want to judge people on their moral character, regardless of everything else. So what they did. Instead recently was they launched a mute feature in beta, which means that a user can go through and click mute on any artists. They don't want to automatically plane playlist doesn't mean that the artist is disappeared. That means that I'm using Spotify. And his name is on a certain playlist. I pick it will just skip that song. His name will still be there, and I can still find him if I really need to. But it'll just skip automatically coming into my ears. So that's one way of sort of getting around it. However, the bigger. Shen is whether streaming services should be taking any sort of stands outside at distribution. Which is what they reportedly do a record store, for instance, in the CD era would never Donelly decide that they don't wanna stop the person and then make a huge judgment at none of the people to buy that CD anymore. So the question is should Spotify. As ticket keeper be doing that sort of thing. So the labels doing that sort of thing or should anybody at all be putting a moral spin on what people listen to. I'm not sure there's anything morally wrong with a private business saying, we're not going to stock are Kelly's music in record stores are streaming services and by that extension. I wonder if the record label was really willing to wash the towns of art Kelly could they suspend every part of their business with him or their contracts in place that they would run afoul of in an artist contract. Typically, there are a number of albums, especially for big artists that are planned for the future. For instance, our contract may have said, you know, we still expect three. Albums in the future. And in that case labor would have had to pay a certain amount of money. Traditionally to artists to sort of let them go from the contracts that may have happened. We don't really know the terms of the deal, but what's clear is that money has changed hands. Somehow if artists let out of a contract or like, go from one. So you're right. It is mainly at the end of the day. It's a financial issue for the labels for the publishers and for services like Spotify who have to weigh that with the idea of corporate responsibility. Which is another issue that has been sort of bubbling up in the last year or so. Wanted to could he do it himself. Could he start somehow his own streaming service? Release his own music independently assuming that he's not convicted and going to jail. He actually if he wanted to release music independently which is the beauty and the curse in many ways of the modern streaming age because it's so easy to put out music and get it distributed through a do, it yourself distributor and just sort of get it onto Spotify or apple music on a medically like that you don't actually need to go through a record label. The question is whether anybody will listen to it or whether you would be able to build up an audience without the resources record late for provides, which includes of course, studio time marketing all those resources that artists typically get as per no record deal. Just why record labels are still important. But of course, if you're someone is big as our Kelly, you might just have the money yourself and be able to do it. So if he does release music that'll be an interesting question for this nurse because they'll have to be making an active decision to go. Listen to our Kelly.

We're going to bring in NPR's calling Dwyer now to talk more about these charges. Con what more did we learn from prosecutors at the news conference? The news conference was a very straightforward affair, Kimberly. Fox briefly, very bluntly laid up charges against Kelly. She didn't take any questions afterward. Frankly, the entire thing couldn't have taken more than five minutes. But we did learn something about the crimes that he's been accused of the ten counts cover four different individuals. The earliest of those counts relate to incidents between nineteen ninety eight ninety nine and the most recent allegedly happened as recent as two thousand ten FOX said that in three of those cases, the victims were under the age of seventeen. Now, it should be mentioned each count is considered a class two felony in Illinois. Then that means each one of them could carry up to seven years in prison. R Kelly has been accused of sexual misconduct with underage girls for many years now. And this is not the first time he's faced charges give us a background. Now. It isn't in fact, as you mentioned they date back more than two decades, these allegations back to his very brief marriage with his protege lien. She was fifteen at the time. He was twenty seven that marriage was quickly annulled, but years later in two thousand and two huge charged with more than a dozen counts of child pornography related to a video involving an underage girl. That case actually took six years to go to court at which point Kelly was acquitted on all counts. But at every step of the way Kelly has steadfastly denied that he hasn't done anything wrong. So you're referring to the docu series. Lifetime are the lifetime docu series surviving R Kelly. And I think that's part of it. A number of women came forward on record their experiences. But I think you can actually trace it back a couple years to two thousand seventeen when BuzzFeed published an investigation alleging that he led something of a cult of young women around him. A number of his former collaborators have disavowed him that includes lady Gaga, and he was also dropped by his record label and even yesterday. Do you name it it is really affected? The folks in Brooklyn pretty intensely day in day out you mentioned the defense. And I wanted to ask about that. Because their case lasted only half an hour, one witness called does today's verdicts suggest that was maybe not the wiser strategy. You know, the defense has been faced a lot of criticism for only calling one witness who testified for thirty minutes, and it was an FBI agent at that was obviously not too keen to say anything that might help Trump a win an acquittal, but the defense can only play the hand they're dealt and the evidence in this case was overwhelming. I mean, the government had wiretapped phone calls. Well, we're all tropical could be heard discussing drug business. They had thousands of intercepted text messages where it was clear, you know, he was the boss of the cartel. Who's calling the shots? They had his handwritten letters for from prison that had orders to his underlings. Right. Going back to the eighties that they were introducing so right? That's absolutely, right. I think all the way back to eighty eighty six eighty seven. So there's not much the defense can really do to that. But the speculation was that L troppo himself might testify sort of try to spend his story as the rags to riches boy who grew up in the mountains and did what he had to provide for his family, but they were also a risk exposing themselves to cross examination that might have been more damaging the whenever they were gonna get from their own their own client. So it's hard to fault the defense for for putting that one witness out there, thankfully, because I don't know who else they would have called to testify on shoplift behalf. I also have to ask you about the jurors who I have been following with fascination as they've spent three months of their lives on this trial. There have been kept secret. This is because of fear of risk of retaliation. Yeah. There are twelve jurors and six alternates. And they've been anonymous this this whole time their faces you can see them in the courtroom they walk in and out and they get escort to and from the courthouse by US marshals. But nobody knows their names. It exactly like you said because of you know, the history of intimidation and threats and violence against anyone who might put Trump will behind bars. So the the judge today said that if any of those jurors wished to they could, you know, shed, and in speech the media, but he advised them against doing that basically saying once once they open that door, there's no closing it. So we'll see in the coming days. If you need them decide to speak out until us what was going through their heads in the trial, and what happened in the jury room during their six days deliberations, Keegan Hamilton US editor for vice news and host of the podcast, El Chapo kingpin on trial, Keegan thanks very much. Thanks for having me in Florida today. A new Bill to add teachers to the list of school workers who can. Carry weapons is getting a hearing. The idea was backed by the state commission that investigated the shooting and Marjory stoneman Douglas high school in parkland, but implementing the so-called school guardian program hasn't been easy for the schools that have already been doing it with coaches and cafeteria workers Katie Campion reported on this for the Tampa Bay times last month. Welcome to the program. Thank you so much. All right to start. You are a student at the university of Florida. How did you and your class get this idea to look into the school guardian program? So we actually did this as part of our data journalism class in our professors presented us with the idea of looking deeper into the school guardian program because nobody had really looked deeply into how this was going to be implemented. So we thought it would be a great idea to explore about how this was operating in Florida. And so you start calling around district you start looking at newspaper reports. And what do you find in terms of the kind of problems that school systems were having so? We found that in some districts. Nobody apply because no one was interested in being in it in other districts. They simply didn't have the time or the resources. So a lot of districts didn't have a program implemented by the beginning of the school year. And for the district's that we're able to implement the program there was some guardians acting irresponsibly on campus. I wanna come back to that in a moment. But first the idea of nobody applying how come talk about what it takes to get into the program. Why might be trouble for both applicants in schools. So there are a lot of things that go into applying for the program. First and foremost any applicants had to go through a background check as well. As a mental health check. Once they got through that process. They would have had to go through any firearm training background training diversity training that the district thought was necessary in order for them to be armed on campuses. A lot of the times it would coincide with what they sheriff's office would have needed a deputy to go. Oh through in order to carry a firearm. So it was a pretty strenuous process. And they weren't able to find people who were the caliber they were looking for when school staff did sign up for the training. Can you talk about what went wrong? Yeah. So once guardians were implemented in hell's, bro county. There was a guardian who accidentally pepper sprayed some students after they asked her. What the pepper spray was. And what it did? She sprayed it into a napkin, and it went everywhere as pepper spray does. And it got in the students is in Duval county. There was a school guardian who tried to pawn his service twice and in manatee county. They actually found some posts on one of the school guardians Facebook accounts that would lewd to violent toward people who didn't share his beliefs. Did you talk to some of the school districts who expressed frustration? What did they tell you? Yeah. A lot of the school district's expressed frustration with the time that they were allotted the Marjory stoneman Douglas public safety act was hush through at the end of the last legislative session due to the tragedy and parkland, and so they either didn't have it ready in time for the start of the school year or they had a program that wasn't as robust as it could have been as a person who was formerly a high school student for you. How did you come to think of this program? I think that the Florida legislature did have great intentions when they were putting the Bill together. It just didn't give schools enough time to enact a program that would be safe for students. Thank you so much. I speaking with us. Thank you for your sharing your reporting. Thank you so much. That's Katie.
