Well, he's changed the nickname And he have a stadium downtown. Yes. Quieting The Noise

"Are so many voices online. If you are a person who devils in dabbles in the interwebs whether that be social media or like a good blog or you know you just. Www in our here it can be difficult to hear your own voice and more importantly the voice guy when you are constantly tuned in to what is going on online last. I felt a need to pull back from social media. It was exhausting. Me if i could be completely real apple back from social media. I started putting my phone. Another when i went to sleep i was light detached in it was something that was different for me because i am usually a person who is always within arm's reach of my phone. I'm constantly on social media. Of course i have a business What pixie-ish beauty. So i am constantly kinda tuned in creating content and putting content out to help women Maintain their short hair and find more information and just be entertained with my short hair. Contin right. I also have a youtube channel so i'm constantly on you to respond in the comments recording videos and last month year girl needed to hit control out. Delete for minute and really just back. The pressure to be present had become too much for me so we had a huge storm in texas I'm sure you heard about it. If you've been anywhere near cnn hanoi anywhere else and it shut things down. It was like slow motion here for a good week where nothing was happening and for me a person who likes to plan my week. Ow half things On monday i do this and tuesday. I do this. And then i'm constantly having orders to feel with my products with pixie-ish brand and i pride myself on trying to do business and integrity and get people their orders in a decent amount of time so when things happen that throw off the natural flow of how i get down i in my feelings. I am very much in my feelings. One thing that i am realizing and growing and maturing and just trying to swallow the peel of all i can do is what i can do. I am a person who moves in integrity and tries to do business a certain way but that has teetered into me being a bit. Ocd and not in a healthy way. So as i started to realize like brandy you during the most all you can do is what you're gonna do. You got all around the united states. Are you going to light. Charter a plane and take these people. They're molding moves to their house or are you going to communicate properly with them. Let them know that something is going on that adia hands and that you will commence business when the snow thaws out. I know it was like more than i could control. But i am still not at a place where i am comfortable when i am not in control. So dealing with the storm and Everything that was going on here in texas and we couldn't get out of the house and full scarce again it was very Early pandemic miss going on we are also dealing with people having a power outages and people being in their homes with no heat so just was a stressful time for me personally. We didn't endure any of that going on in our house but the effect that it took on my business was overwhelming to me. And i know. I need to be checked in. I am working on checking myself. My therapist is checking me. Lords checking me. I am a work in progress. I am constantly trying to become a better version of myself But yeah it did. Bother me that i was not able to fulfill orders and move and do the things that i needed to do right after that happened. And everything is kind of getting itself back to normal life We decided to have some projects done at the house. I looked at it like you know on hdtv. I am an avid hdtv girl. Like i go to sleep witted. I watch it every day. There are probably house. Hunter episodes an house hunter international episodes of going back for every season that i have seen each and every one of right so i have romanticized the process of getting work done in my house based on what i saw on. Hdtv so we hire contractors. And they're coming in. This work is being done on every room in our house. And again it through such a monkey wrench in our normal ability to be able to move around the house and then when you have people in your house you got a couple of men in the house you know you gotta get up and get dressed and and make sure you got on a bra now just all of the things right so we had one week where we were all the way thrown off by the storm then enrolled into the next week and we are getting work done in the house and we all live in one room and we can't use the kitchen and we buy food out every day. It just wasn't

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo refuses to resign amid sexual harassment claims

"The really terrible execrable governor of the state of New York. Before he was accused The Washington Free Beacon points out before he was accused himself of sexual harassment. The governor of New York signed a bill that dramatically lowered the bar for proving harassment claims. Bar. His accusers would almost certainly clear the bills signed two years ago. 2019 says, harassment need not be severe or pervasive to be considered unlawful. Any action that rises above petty slights and trivial inconveniences can qualify if a male supervisor makes a female employees uncomfortable by asking her out to lunch, as one New York employment lawyer told the washer free beacon that could be the basis for a claim. Well, the governor's alleged transgressions went way. Beyond that. The bill also eliminates a key defense that Cuomo might have used in court, under federal law and employer can avoid liability if their employees never filed a formal complaint about the harassment Well, these women are complaining, but I do think some of this is simply a way of distracting people's attention away from the 13,000 or so people who died because Governor Cuomo decided That they would be sent to nursing homes after they were sick with China virus instead of sent to the many hospital beds that the state had available to it during the height of the pandemic, But today, the question came to a point when Andrew Cuomo, who had been asked over and over and over by reporters, are you going to resign in all the way along? He kept dodging around the questions. And I kept saying to my producer I sure hope somebody really bores in on this and says, Are you going to resign or not? Because it's like the guy knew that the biggest elephant the living in the room was the question. Are you going to resign? And he kept finding ways to work around it without giving a straight answer. And then finally this question and answer from a reporter. We have that sound bite. We'll get to it A bit later, Andrew Cuomo ended up by saying, We're not. He's not going to resign. He's not going Tol quit his office. Now let's take a listen to it right now. Is this your way of saying I'm certainly not resigning? I wasn't elected by politicians. I was elected by the people of the state of New York. I'm not going to resign. I work for the people of the state of New York. They elected me and I'm going to serve the people of the state of New York. And by the way we have a full plate we have covert. We have recovery. We every building. We have a teetering New York City. We have a terrible financial picture. We have to do vaccines s. Oh, no. Um I'm going to do the job. The people of the state elected me to do you accept that? Can you do that job when people are distracted by the fact that you've been credibly accused of sexual harassment by people on your staff by people outside your staff, and you've decided you don't want to. Resign. I think the pressure is going to build, and I think they'll probably push him out the door. Of course. I also said that about Governor Northam of Virginia on Gwen, He was caught with the black face pictures and all the rest of that, and he never left office either. So maybe I'm maybe I'm completely off base, but I don't see how Cuomo survives this. It seems even his friends on the left. Have decided it is time for him to go. He has passed his expiration date here calls

But it's one of those things i think. Ron you are quick to point out but man. you don't know this until you're in the thick of it. Would you agree with that. Of course it. There's a certain amount of learning you get just by doing it. You're off Picking yourself up by your bootstraps as they say You we got into a situation where we did do too. Ready to shop with a "smart cart?"

"You pandemic has brought about a ton of tech innovation when it comes to shopping between ordering everything online in curbside pickup. The next phase of this might be the smart cart according to my colleagues at the cincinnati enquirer supermarket chain. Kroger is testing smart cards where shoppers pick their items place them in the car and leave without ever having to go to a checkout or register i this is how they work. The carts themselves use artificial intelligence to recognize what you put in the cart. So you can take a box of cereal. Draw pasta sauce a gallon of milk. Whatever it is the cart will recognize what you place inside. It also has scales built so if you're buying produce it will wait for you in the cart and then once you're done shopping you back up your items and then you make a payment directly from the car itself. This idea of checkout free. Grocery store isn't new. We've seen amazon experiment with this already. Last year. they opened in grocery store in seattle where users can download an amazon go app. They scan a barcode to enter the store. Then they scan what they're buying and once they're done they just walk out and received by email and it's all done within the app. The fact that kroger is testing smart cards is a pretty big deal. The cincinnati-based grocer operates several regional supermarket chains in thirty five states stores. That you may have heard of like fred. meyer harris teeter ralph's marianas and host of others. The company has nearly twenty eight hundred stores so the fact that they are testing this out is pretty significant. Once they get to a final place it's going to be at a lot of different locations so it looks like your grocery experience is going to get a lot more technologically advanced in the months and years to come

Refounder: The Essential Longevity Plan for Every Small Business

"What we've all heard the term founder and many of us our founders of small businesses. But what is a re founder and can you be one of them. Help us with that. Is patrick colletti. Who's a leadership at organizational cultural expert champion for founders and author of the upcoming leadership leadership. Book rebounder patrick. Welcome to the show. Thank you invite me here so been surviving during this pandemic. We've been making lots shifts Founder should you know finding the opportunities and being candid and honest about what needs to change. And as emily it's been It's been terrific so we all know. When a founder isn't a lot of us are founders. What's a refunder. Well refound herships the same john as founders though is expressed in different ways so let founders visa visionaries they take a different approach But they're the turnaround artists. These men and women who reimagine existing but broken structures and aimed to improve them. So i like to think of them. In a way as very practical magicians taking the raw materials of the company a culture or even life and transforming them into something more meaningful so put more simply be founders used their magic to create something better from something broken and founders typically start and founders two to draw a parallel but a difference they really start with nothing a create something so refunders. Really take something that's broken and make it better so our refound. There's always someone from the outside or kenny founder. become a refunder or they can't because as they say you can't read the label when you're inside the jar. I absolutely believe that people can change. So i would say while it is not that typical that founders then become a founder. I say they are where when given the right stimulus whether it's a crisis Something with their business with their family. Something dramatic happens in other book point to the fact that he to change that they change in history shown that that absolutely can happen so give us give us some examples of history where outside persons coming been rebounder and actually found gold in something that perhaps the founder had given up on shirt yet. This is it's actually quite common. You know there's a. There's a life cycle for those enterprises. That are fortunate enough to grow passed. A few million dollars inevitably after a few years. Some form of entropy occurs and so whether it's the founder that gets them stimulus that recognizes something needs to change more likely somebody within the business typically visit trigger now as you know with small businesses Most of them don't crush that two three four five our they do the need for change. Change die becomes pretty critical and so virtually any business today. That is over. Ten million dollars in revenue has had to make some pivots that all would point to having founder in the business. Now that may be a middle manager. That's pointed out that the product line needs to change that could be a co founder Or it may be found as well. Yeah it's interesting because you see very few businesses. They're able to go from nothing to billions of dollars. I mean the michael dell's of the world. The bill gates the world's although bill gates had partners to typically the skills that you need to actually get something started are not the same skills to grow it past at least in my case past ten million dollars it also indicates that there are not a lot of one companies right and so while you know what what gets you to. The party isn't the thing that will necessarily keep you there. It speaks to the fact that you know you may be one trick Business and you may have one. Particular product speaks to an audience. But that doesn't necessarily create a real thriving. Enterprise that's just a product you know. It's it's interesting to me because what you're saying is the refounded necessarily a partner or owner in the business. It's just some kind of person that works with you. That's a catalyst absolutely so founder doesn't need to be an owner in the business. In fact when. I speak to college students or young professionals one of my encouragements to them is every employer wants this. Every employer may not provide a fertile ground for but once they once you share on these your founder characteristics. They want you there. You're gonna be the future of the business and there's go ahead. Yeah there's really four steps in so one could argue. There's four kinds of founders instead of behavioral models that are that are linked to this. But i think the easiest way to think about it is every founder follows four typical patterns in the first one is a refunder. Isn't afraid to take silver. Look at hard reality and when you think about those folks that are on the front lines and maybe do in hand to hand combat in sales part of that has to do with ignoring problems sometimes and ignoring the knows that you get to keep going another day and so that may not fit well with somebody who is focused and taking a sober look at a hard reality. And that's not. Take a shot at salespeople at all Salespeople are very important. i'm a salesperson. We all need to sell. We're going to be successful but that particular behavior taking a sober look at hard realities. Takes a very special kind of person in personality. The second step is identifying. What's broken and you think about that. In terms of your strength finders. The level of conscientiousness that takes imprecision to find what's actually broken. And then to to take a phrase from the book which is taken from william faulkner to kill your darlings because candidly most of us to have too many options and it's difficult to close doors and so if you can be wise enough to kill your darlings and selectively focus then you go to the third step of of being founder. And that's where you imagine a davis in bold new possibilities and even if those possibilities seem remote it just for a moment juxtaposed that with step one which is not being afraid to take a sober. Look hard realities those people in particular. Think about your conscious. Cfo or an accountant that may fit into that category than imagining audacious bold new possibilities. And so that's the third step and then the fourth is refunders spring to action and the key here is execution and so we all of her execution is key. But there's there's an important asterik here. And that is that they have to execute by creating better realities for people those in their communities in the world large because just executing to get it done that may work for a short period of time. But unless there's a just cause a real purpose that re founding effort walton fail in. I don't really want to sell short. How difficult this is really for. A founder because founders are used to doing it themselves right so have you found that founders may not want to refound your because they say i can do it. I can turn around or they don't wanna work with someone because they don't want to miss something's wrong absolutely image part of the human condition and so therefore it's just a reflection of the organizations institutions that we run whether they're not for profits for profits. So yes i mean i think this is part of the the human condition and and really i think the bigger question is how large of an impact do you wanna have. Do you want to have a comfortable life with a very small business. That teeters on the edge or do you want to run. The kind of enterprise that has global impact or create flourishing for hundreds of thousands of people. We're talking with patrick colletti. He's the author. A book called founder. I think it's difficult for a lot of founders. Patrick because there's so much ego tied up in their business that change is difficult. I'm running my next book. Is called change masters and how hard it is for people to actually change. Unless they're in incredible pain and they have no choice. I'd found that sometimes the best opportunities arise during a moment of crisis and it might be a giant burden on your heart broken relationship or just a corporate hot mess. But it's in those moments that i think you can trigger a great refounding

The Other Side of Grief with Angie Smith

"Can you take us back to audrey. he's pregnancy and talk a little bit about about your story. From last season it was twelve years ago. Which is really hard to believe. You're talking about that the other day but the basic stories that i was pregnant with my daughter audrey she would have been our fourth daughter in. We found out during the pregnancy. Just like a regular at our twenty week ultrasound that she had many issues that made her incompatible with life and the term that they used and we ended up carrying her for several more weeks until she was passed viability. We just want to give her a shot. You know even though we were just praying for a miracle. We did not get the miracle that we really wanted but sheila for about two and a half hours and it was absolutely one of the hardest times of my life but she still so much part of our family. I feel like so in fact all the little neighborhood girls are designing they call us the sleeve or they somehow combined oliver. The smirks for they've mind are lasting of there's adorable mansion on us to all league compound firstalec giant house and they give audrey room held me so yeah it's still i mean it's so tender now but yeah it really beautiful to see him and other people remember her include her so so. Let's talk about that. That my one of my good good friends. Just walk through this. And i was actually there with her the day that her baby died and it was just you know and it reminded me of of you because i feel like you have given so many people picture into something that is often private and often not talked about in in so just in that season. We're talking about you know being fragile in this time. And i know since then because i'm your friend i know more and more horrific suffering that you've been through since then and i want to know just what that word fragile means to you and i think even back angie to your book cover of a broken china page. That was piece that together. I mean this is really something that an image for you it in your life. Yeah i think fragile is a really good word to describe this. The last season of my life. Like i sort of almost used that term with my general life like there's always like a little bit of i think for me right now and in those situations what i'm seeing is that even when i feel like i'm doing really well then i could still kind of take turn quickly where it's like one of those things that this is the dumbest example but i was at ulta yesterday and i i mean i've been out but not like probably as much as some people have in june okay with the whole pandemic like i mean. We're my husband's best friend who's here said on. You've been training for the soon. Like i like being home like so we i go to ulta. Everything's just take down like everything just feels like. I think everyone's got masks on all of a sudden. Like i just feel like i'm always sort of teetering on being in the hall. Just feels like there's a shift that i don't feel like i ever expect it. I mean even might. I mean my dad passed away. Which is part of what you were referring to and i was in the store and i was okay and then what actually broke me was. I saw this bottle of allure perfume. Which was the first Data ever bought for me and like the cell. So it's stuff like that where you're i think. There's just a different tenderness right now. That even in the moments where feeling we're kind of holding it together. It feels like most people i know are also like but this could break at any time right. Looks really solid right now. Right in an hour yet. I get a totally different answer. So it's a good word for it. Yeah i think you're right. I think i wake up some mornings. And i'm like i don't have any bearings i i feel. I don't have time and space like recently. I kept talking about our staff meeting tomorrow. I'm talk to our meeting tomorrow. And they're like it's friday. That's four days away just like i don't even know what to say it. Looks like a senile eight five year old but i cannot. I can't play it. Put my feet in time and space very well. You know which does make it just all feel like what secure in what's in what is all it it absolutely and i feel like i mean i. What's funny is. I think everyone is forgetting the days of the week. It's just these crazy. Yeah i do all. I did it today. I mean i like i thing. Is you know. yeah no. I think that that's part of it is just it. It's what you said. There's this like sort of like were lost in space and time and everything looked so weird and you know. I'm watching my neighbors. One of my dearest friends put her kindergartner on the bus. And he's the most lake shy in will mask and she's like i've never seen this classroom. I've never talked to the teacher like in. She's like a note. she looks like right here. She seems really nice. But altman dat. I tend to have depression anxiety. And i always have in so in this season. It's been extremely difficult. And i know. I'm not the only one but it's you said it's just kinda can't get your bearings in it makes you feel so unsteady in that revealing feeling to me is like it goes to panic. It doesn't it's not absolutely you'll uneasy here like so. Yeah we what we we right. I mean navy but then it's it's it's like it's the same as suffering all the things that you've been gone through lately it's like that that's that's also a grief does right is it puts you kind of in an alternate reality and and i wanna talk. 'cause i know there are so many women listening right now i mean i just i specifically think of my dear friend cathy who is just you know it's been one year anniversary just happened and so i want you to talk to them that those that have lost a child looking back on that journey. What do you wish you could tell yourself back then. I think i would probably talk about the fact that so funny. You ask that right. I said it regarded pandemic but that there is another side to this. You're you're not going to be in this place forever. So free i would say at the time it just felt like it would never end. Yeah fell it. would never recover in. Grief is weird. I'd probably tell myself that to you that it's again like it isn't the steady like okay. I'm better now. okay. I'm it's it's unexpected

Perus procession of presidents

"Even by the extraordinary standards of peruvian presidential turnover. It has been quite a week. The government palace in lima rotated through three tenants. In a matter of days president martin vs kara was removed via impeachment. His replacement manuel marino resigned following violent protests. He was succeeded. By francisco's sagacity. Who appears to remain incumbent. This recording serving as peru's head of state seems not to bring out the best in people of peru's six presidents prior to martin viscaya four are in prison and awaiting trial and one shot himself while being presented with an arrest warrant. This circus would be dysfunctional enough. Were it not for the fact that peru's presidential intrigue is presently teetering with problems other than those caused by the people supposed to be running the place. The country has one of the world's worst covid nineteen outbreaks and its economy has been accordingly battered. Is it possible that francisco's augusta represents an end to peruse lousy luck with its leaders. How has the country's politics becomes so chronically chaotic. And where does anyone even start cleaning up a mess like this. This is the foreign desk. The massive demonstrations that we have seen in the past few days in response to the latest political turmoil exposed deep discontent with the political class falling in several years of institutional clashes of corruption scandals. So reese an anger are much higher now. Five of the law six presidents not including the skara that post pregnancies have been dominated by corruption. Accusations one is in jail setting a twenty five year sentence. Another shot himself dead last year. I think most peruvians. They understand that the corruption just fades the state. The real moment of change has come now when the youths in the street and the people all over round peru have began to say we want to change the structure of the state that for humanity left us it will really be the end of human. He's more if that constitution is brought down. New one is put forward.

Norwegian Files for Examinership in Ireland

"The biggest i think other news that came out today is that norwegian is filing for examiner ship in ireland which is akin to chapter eleven bankruptcy in the us where assets are are protected in the organization reorganizes. How it does business in a way to make more sustainable for the future. Whether that's possible Case i think is is an open question and to how did they reorganize. I think is going to be very interesting to see as they deal with. They've got some three seven. Max you know in their fleet they also have long haul aircraft that haven't operated in months and they have a a route network. That has been decimated so jason. What do you think i mean. Obviously it's been a long time. Coming as far as norwegians norwegian the i feel like has been teetering on the edge of bankruptcy since the day long haul operation started what feels like a decade ago. Norwegian has often been a topic of conversation on the podcast for A variety reasons in what we've often said is that norwegians made questionable decisions an had a number of external factors affect their operations through no fault of their own. Norwegian has largely been a victim of circumstances beyond its control. Tremendous bad luck again and again i mean you. You've got the seven eight seven. Seven their seventy seven were delivered late. There then came the engine. Issues with seventy seven then came the 737 max grounding and then came covert among a variety of other things. That have happened in your life. So not always their fault. But i don't. I don't know exactly how they move forward with an expansive plan. I mean it seems to me that norwegians going to be much smaller moving forward it has. I think most airlines will be norwegian also. Bit off probably far more than it could chew just by the sheer number of the volume of what it was doing. It wasn't just airline. It was also an aircraft leasing firm. It had a whole bunch of max's end three twenty neo family aircraft on order that they were acting as a leasing firm for other airlines and that does not a good business to be in right now so i don't know how they restructure that really. The norwegian we knew eight months ago is going to look very different than the norwegian that maybe emerges from the equivalent of bankruptcy i it survives in some form but i i can't imagine it being at all or even close to the size at once prior

Coronavirus Cases Rising in Victoria, Australia

Coronavirus Cases Rising in Victoria, Australia

"At the new, south Wales stats around me. July. There were fifteen eighteen fourteen coronavirus cases a day but never escalated, and there was no lockdown and life was pretty normal. Why isn't that happening now in Victoria with their current numbers? So reasons one is that you know the bottom line is that it's very hard for tour to retrofit the ideal contact tracing system and two years for New South Wales to build up the infrastructure to get there. So they've been playing catch up. The essential reason is Victoria has always had. A backlog, it's much less than it was, but you in the early days of this second wave, it was in the thousands where they didn't know where the virus was where people were getting from, and at one point, I think had four thousand people under investigation. So these are the mystery cases that they haven't been able to pin down where it's come from. Well I think depend on a lot of them but they they didn't know where it was coming. And in New South Wales, it's just a more int- faster contact tracing system where they're on top of it. You might have one or two cases at any one time where they don't come from maybe five and they get down pretty quickly. They also don't wait to tell you for the next day where it's all happening. We tell during the day so they might release their figures in the morning, but there's a case in a gym or go watch over certain restaurant or cafe they'll tell you during the day. So this is constant updating an alert system going on and they're. Just more onto it and it's always appeal art working hard and Victoria the are working hard is is just that the system works better in New South Wales and the result is and has been the result all along, which is there's less virus circulating in your New South Wales during the second wave is that part of the problem? Though is maybe Victoria of God at the beginning, and then it just got to such large numbers before they could figure out the best system. Yes but trip so they have talked about how New South Wales was lucky and it was lucky that they. Sensed, didn't have this breakdown in Authority. Get very angry at me. When I said, they're lucky because this is a lot of hard work here and so on. But in a sense, they didn't have an underground unknown spreads from Hotel Corentin which got into large social networks, and by the time they discovered it, it would have overwhelmed any contact tracing system but equally, they're contact tracing system wasn't sufficiently localized testing system. That responsive that the could get on onto its as fast as possible. So took a while I, think that Victoria really put the rest of the country on its goddess well, though that people saw what was happening there in other states and said, okay, we're going to start getting tested by going to be on the front foot with this doesn't happen here and that's the other reason what was as lucky as that they knew it was coming and so were they were on alert but. They still had a significant outbreak in south Sydney Hotel, crossroads motel, and from various restaurants and so on, and it looked very worrying at one point in New South Wales, and it was teetering on the brink of the managed to bring it back and it still is teetering on the brink by the way because New South Wales has had some cases which are surprises by again they seem to have gotten top fairly quickly with testing. It's incredibly low as they were tour around about the same time. They find it in the sewage they went in and they looked and they find some extra cases and as as we said Corona Casta as both a worry and good news is that the the diagnostic going up means that they're starting to find cases and the tasting rate went up dramatically I think it tripled over night. So we're not only answering questions from a high profile ABC colleagues Lisa's asking how is Metro Melvin going to be able to get to the fourteen day rolling average of five so that they can move into the third step of their roadmap for reopening there's no magic about this it's just continuing to. What you're doing, which is wearing masks when you're out. Keeping your social distance being really hygienic, wiping down surfaces being alert as much as possible, not having large family occasions. And hoping that the context system can actually get on top of this because cases now are down at numbers. The contact tracing system will be getting on top of it and yet it's hovered around nine ten for a few days but it will start to come down things will we'll get back but it's just going to take some time. There's a lot of virus circulating in. Victoria. So one of the things that's happening today, there's still a lot of circulating in. Victoria but kids are going back to school and marks. Emailed us about this saying is bit disappointed about it saying that kids are being said that they're less infectious but the best evidence seems to be inconclusive. What do we know about how safe it is to be sending kids back to school now it's remarkable how uncertain some of the evidence is here if you take the balance of evidence, the balance of evidences that children undertain are less susceptible to SARS covy to. and. They seemed to transmit it less. It's not as if they don't transmit it at all about that risk goes up after the age of ten considerably.

The story of Trevor Lawrence's life-changing summer

"So we just discussed how Trevor Lawrence is influence has been growing this off season I taking on issues of public health and racial inequality. But last month. The very thing that gives Trevor Lawrence his enormous Megaphone College football was put in jeopardy as players in conferences. Having. These discussions about canceling the season. What role in those discussions did Trevor Lawrence play. It was a Sunday night early August enduring. Trevor. Together again. There at travers fiancee's apartment and rumours are starting to pick up steam that some of the biggest most powerful conferences in college football the Big Ten PAC twelve that they're seriously considering, postponing their fall season, and this is coming at the end of a week. When of PAC twelve players have released a statement on the Players Tribune using the Hashtag we are united. And they've threatened to out fall CAM even opt out of games unless the conference mixed their demands for fair treatment and safety regulations and less the conference addresses concerns over racial justice, and meanwhile on a nearly parallel track, you have players the cost, the country, trevor, and fluted tweeting the Hashtag. We want to wait to express their desire to keep the seasonal live. So, in the Sunday night when it feels like college ball is teetering, it's actually dairying who decides to reach out to Dylan bowls. One of the players the Pactel's we are United Movement because endearing mine Houston gain. If we all join together the players in the we are united movement and the players in the we want to play movement that would be undeniably powerful for players who don't have concrete power who don't have a real seat at the table at least not yet their collective voice with the really hard to ignore because truly. So many of these fires want the same thing they want to play football this fall, they just want to do it in a safe responsible way. Dylan Daring, trevor they get on a three way facetime called a hash all this out to make sure they're all on the same page and that very quickly evolves into a zoom call with a dozen or so some of the biggest names in college football right Justin fields chew behind nausea. Harris And matter of thirty minutes, they agree to roll out a list of demands from this new fused Mecca Movement. It was amazing. How quickly we all got on the same page put something together I feel like the majority was getting spoken for. And we were like, Hey, we WANNA play. We want it to be safe but we do to take a watt mandated and universal safety procedures for Covid nineteen and they want to form players association. And it pretty much the stroke of midnight. These players, Tweeden Unison. But it's trevor naturally whose tweet is hurt the loudest he's re tweeted some fifteen thousand times including one quote tweet from President Donald Trump, and it's just a few days later actually that someone from the White House reaches out to Amanda Lawrence Trevor Lines mom letting her know that the president would like to get in touch with trevor. So hold on. So he has the president of the United States listening to him. Now let alone all of his peers across college football. What was that conversation with Donald Trump? Like? You know I would have loved to be a fly on whatever wall in whichever room that phone call took place the president has said really that trevor just reiterated his desire to play this season but trevor for his part hasn't divulged too much about that phone call. Conversation it was good I mean we just talked about kind of the whole we talked about that. We WanNA play like how's it going? How's it looking for the season and? president trump was just saying, yeah, I think our country needs college football and. then. Some small talk. Yes. We a little bit about what was going on in my life and vice versa. So that was pretty much the conversation though trevor is twenty years old the president of the United States wanted to speak to him. That is remarkable crazy. No matter which way you cut it. So. Let's recap here Halley Grossman because since March Trevor, Lawrence Age Twenty has faced pressure to help mitigate a global pandemic fight racism save the College football season display a level of political savvy and or gamesmanship that is obviously well beyond his years. So what else can you possibly be asked to do at this point? I mean look putting your stamp of approval which he's done on a list of demands that includes creating players. Association is a big deal. That's a radical way to reimagined that amateurism model that governs. College football right now but I think what this summer has shown is that trevor doesn't plan to quiet down you just a few days ago a whole lot of guys that original zoom call we talked about reconvened because they revealing again from a police shooting of a black man again, and so in the days after Jacob, Blake was shot. Trevor and Darien and Dylan, and a whole host of others talked once again to hammer out ways to help to draw attention to the issue and hopefully bring change. Trevor Lawrence football season is starting tomorrow and if all goes according to plan. He's GonNa win the heisman before becoming the first overall pick in next year's NFL draft teams have been salivating over his talent. There have been rumors that teams might even want to tank for Trevor Lawrence this season. So the question really that is, why is he even putting himself out there like this? Why even play the season? I mean that is the question, right? We have seen plenty a high profile opt-outs this season jomar chase at Lsu. Mike Parsons at Penn State today. Oregon. These are first round top ten NFL draft guys but no one literally nobody has less to lose by not playing the twenty twenty football season than Trevor Lawrence. are in a player having a job borough like. Or I don't know an asteroid hitting the earth, his Cossacks to go number one overall are safe, and at the same time, no one has less to gain by paddling the status quo or shaking up the current system than trevor does this system works just fine for him? He is a young white man. He's a young white quarterback, and so I asked Amanda, his mother that seems washing. Why? Why do all this? I put himself out there and she said something interesting she said look. there. are players out there who do need to even if trevor doesn't and there are people out there for whom the status quo and the current system don't work even if it works for him and he understands that now probably better than he ever has and he just wants to help. That's really it know told me one of his goals for the senior only meeting because he wanted everyone to understand that unless everyone is good no one is good and trevor, his best friend took that to heart. Of the day, there's so much division in our country. Just word of some people that WanNa see people together, WanNa see people love each other and I think that's where a lot of the things I do. It stems from that just wanted to see people happy together not divided. With all this pressure now from all of these different places in our country. Landing Atop. Trevor Lawrence's shoulders. What are you personally expect from him when the season starts? Because of the ways in which Trevor Lawrence has stepped onto center stage this summer it's almost easy to forget what it is. That gives him that stage in the first place, he is extremely good at his job. Term Lawrence is an excellent quarterback. Making predictions in two, thousand, twenty, hundred, probably a fools errand. But tomorrow, there's football comes we'll pay wake forest, and if clemson continues to play if they and the ACC and the big twelve and sec are able to play a full season, don't be surprised to see Trevor Lawrence back on the national championship stage. Don't be surprised to see Trevor Lifting the national championship trophy and along the way don't be surprised to see trevor continuing to speak out and perhaps that's one of the safest predictions you can make in twenty twenty. Life to be reflection of what I say and what I believe I've been thinking about everything that's going on and I think there has been some some moments where I had to say some things because it's just the right thing to do and it's time really is just how I live my life I want it to reflect what I say. I. Would always be the same person I want to be consisted. Eliot Grossman. Thank you for jumping on stage with. US. Thank you so much for having me. Pablo.

What Does It Mean To Be A Vessel

"Vessel vessel vessel vessel vessel. Vessel. That's been in my brain all week vessel. What is the vessel when I thought about the word vessel, a huge vast ship came to mind. Maybe, like a navy ship, that's what I imagined. A vessel to be spins the size of multiple football fields came with sand some of the toughest waves, not always, but many of them. Right. Many of the. Ways that we've never even seen before. Roaring, huge waves. Knocking this vessel to and fro. Size a mini football fields. But then a vessel could also be. Something that's hollow us to contain a liquid. This vessel will. And I went a step farther, I'm like, okay. Well, how does that apply to me as a vessel because anything that comes to my mind I try to find. Something to root in, sink my teeth in how it applies to me because it came to me right. And this is life this game. And then I thought well a ship. In and of itself, it's parked or docked. or in the middle of the sea. Without someone at the helm, it is not really functioning going nowhere the point of ship it has a destination. Has a destination and in need someone at the helm in order to make it to the destination of is not really. In. Its operable full capacity function. So the Helmsman is necessary it's important to that large vessel. And the empty vessel. The one that holds contents is just as important. The contents of that vessel are important to the vessel. was inside. What's being carried by that vessel? And so then once I compared both I saw myself in it and hopefully as I explained, you can see yourself in both. There's a destination each of us. must reach we our vessels. God is at the helm. You might not have declared for yourself but I know it for myself and I. Hope you see it for yourself. Now, God is at the hill. And as we travel to our nation's. Waves huge waves. They can cause vessels to. Teeter. Feeling. We're going to knock over. Filling, like we're taking on too much water. But something about the mechanics of that. Our vessel. is able to withstand the storms. Is because God is at the helm. In the contents in which Each of our vessels carry are different. But as important. You're a carrier of something. Very important. And got once again has entrusted you with those contents. Believing. Bet. You will care for them. Be Diligent and using them. And making sure you don't let the wrong contents in. To disrupt. Your vessel. You're going somewhere. Going somewhere you're well on your way. Closer and closer to your destination. And you're a vessel. Necessary equipped. But you're not alone in this never think you're alone in this even with all of your mechanics of bells and whistles in which you have invested in yourself. There's one. WHO SITS AT THE HILL Of each of our vessels. In the necessity is that we check in. With. That helmsmen

Yep cut down Here's here's another cool story. The first Navy aircraft carrier named after an enlisted person and the first carrier named after a black sailor was announced on Martin. Luther King Day the boat will be named after mess attendant second class. Doris Miller If you're in the navy you're familiar with this name He was doing laundry when the attack on Pearl Harbor started and despite having no gunnery training because the navy was segregated then and they didn't train Anybody for that kind of they black sailors were only allowed to work in the mess which is like the kitchen? Miller went to the deck. After the things happen he was carrying injured. Sailors alerts to the deck for seats for safety and then saw an unmanned browning machine gun jumped behind started firing into the sky at the incoming enemy planes And until his this belt was empty took down a plane according to him and and then they The call came to abandon ship so he he did. Hundred six sailors including the captain died that day. Fifty two or injured four months after the attack on Pearl Harbor Navy Secretary William Franklin Knox. Oh if you know if you're in the navy you know that name to He expanded service roles for black sailors hours after that and today seventy eight years later he becomes the first black sailor to have his name on a carrier. Doris Miller a hero were the of this international recognition. I'm so excited. Ask crowd to be Former sailor and you know we've got the harvey milk to come out so these are this is all just such good news. Yeah that's so uplifting it really isn't it brings us to To our Hashtag this week and of course Hashtag today not this week but today Hashtag. Mlk Day so everyone we are honoring. Martin Luther King Junior today And Dem candidates marched arm-in-arm. It was nice just to see in Columbia South Carolina today just all sorts of celebrations all around the country I'm I'm having been born on this day. Having it be Martin Luther King Day having it be inauguration day and it doesn't you know Martin Luther King Day doesn't always fall on my birthday but It does a lot of the time super bowl also but That is not a thing anymore because it's in February now because capitalism yea but having I'm I'm acutely aware of of of the the honoring the memory and the celebrations it's just. It's such an important day and I I grew up in Arizona where we didn't even even have a Martin Luther King Day until much later until I think the two thousand six it was a it was. You'll correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure but it was late in the game uh-huh and and so when we got that recognition there that was something that we really fought for for a long time but it's just it had had to Hashtag. MLK MLK Day and see see how people are remembering him I saw his son and his granddaughter speak. It was just absolutely wonderful I'm just positive messages it it was. It's just nice for a minute to get away from worrying about the negative shit that's going on in this country right now into into and to focus on on a positive message Yeah I really am really appreciative of the when I was at UC UCSD Day. It was profoundly intelligent. I know like Like just should I could never think yeah like like wow there's also obviously a lot of really amazing quotes of his and Things honoring him. That's been going around and social media but I wanted to share one of the angles. Does that one of my friends posted that I think is really important and the sentiment is basically you know when we talk about okay. People talk about him ally as someone who was was a martyr or like died for something and the point that they brought up was thinking about shifting. How you think about that too? He did not die for something he was not a martyr he was assassinated. He was a man who was assassinated. Yeah it was no sort of he he was not like signed up in our military died a martyr he was just killed arguably by. I mean I know that there's like different theories and everything but just ultimately ultimately. He tweeted out a remembrance today. At everyone's just like Maybe sit this one out right. Yeah yeah he was he was assassinated because he he was at that point in time one of if not the face of liberation he lived for a cause right he lived for a cause he was assassinated. Yeah that's a good way to think about that or an interesting other way to look at it. Thank you for that. I hadn't thought about that Would that be your final thought. They like six to eight hour days and they took. They didn't take you know two days. They didn't try to cram it in it. Looks like he's trying to cram it into get it done before the state of the Union. Because I think trump was really pressuring on that and I think he made a deal with the moderate Republicans because regarding witnesses Mrs in the Clinton trial any senator could offer a resolution to call a witness men here. The resolution says at the end of two presentations there would be sixteen hours of senator questions. And then after that and then they they don't get to ask the questions with their mouths. They have to write them. Down and Chief Justice Roberts read those after that In nineteen ninety nine they had an offer of a motion to dismiss will McConnell taken that out. No it's apparently. There's no appetite for a motion to dismiss this case. That probably piss trump off so McConnell. had to try to really hard to get that to get the you know the two day thing and so he can have this done by his State of the Union But here here. Instead of a motion to dismiss the Senate will take up an upper down. Vote on whether or not to hear from witnesses and get documents. That's what those moderate senators were. were pressing for four. And so I think trump pushing for this to be done by state of the union made McConnell shove it down down into two days each Twelve hours per day. Twenty four hours each side and I think that the the moderate Republicans had him put that language in there Guaranteeing an upper down vote on witnesses and documents after the opening arguments and after the senators questions And there will be a four hour argument on when they have the upper down vote. It'll be a four hour argument on that up or down on whether to have witnesses and documents and then the Senate will vote simple majority rules. That's the language. The four moderates like I said we're fighting for If that motion does not not get a pet if it doesn't pass it does not get a majority Makes me wonder if other senators will get the opportunity to ask For witnesses or if chief justice can at still unclear. I haven't really figured that one out yet. But if they move forward onto witnesses and documents they vote Yes for it. The rules say any witnesses would would have to be deposed in private before they actually come and testify in public and both sides. We get to ask questions. So that's basically the overview of the rules here so we got the The the moderate Republicans I should say not us but the moderate Republicans got their wish to have an upper down vote after the presentations in the Senate questions and but we have this. Condensed time time frame where you have to you. Get Twenty four hours but you have to do it in two days. Each side gets twenty four hours. I should say so. That'll take four days. These rules will be argued tomorrow or today. Today if you're listening on Tuesday On the Senate floor. Democrats are probably going to try to add amendments to get rid of that today twenty four hour thing I mean they'll keep the twenty four hour. Nothing but they'll be like three days you know A piece of the Union third okay. The fourth February third or fourth one. One Yeah I think every third is Iowa caucus and I think maybe February today before the day after were that day is the state of the Union. I have to look it up. Yeah state of his presidency really soon but if if Republicans agree to witnesses. It's not going to be done by the state of the Union right. Yeah there's yeah. What does that sound like? Hello I don't Nell in the middle of a jerk he's GonNa do a whole like idiocy. Camacho's Oh yeah part. I would love for it to not be done for multiple reasons number one so that there would be witnesses and number two so I could see him just flounder in the state of the Union. When he's literally the fucking mind yet trout trial so great but we'll see and that also scares me a little bit and thinking that the Republicans all agreed to vote no on that witness thing but I doubt that the four moderate Republicans would agree to that on the outset? But I mean McConnell doesn't do anything without votes so it's just it's kind of unclear. Yeah I know McConnell but you know this might give McConnell cover to the president to say hey wasn't up to me. The majority wanted to hear from witnesses. Not Me Bro. And so that's what that's what they're putting forward Yeah I don't think it should be a contentious day on the floor. Olea in speaking of impeachment a new poll out out today from CNN says fifty one percent of Americans think the Senate should vote to convict and remove Donald Trump while forty five percent. Say No and hasn't moved much over the holidays Fifty nine nine percent of women say he should be removed. Forty two percent of men say he should be removed predictable. Eighty six percent of black Americans say he should be removed but they love him Friday according to trump. But what we got to lose. That was his really moving campaign speech for the African American community. Sophos of Mentawai people wearing blacks for trump pictured on twitter. Yeah I actually responded saying I've never actually seen a black person where one and then I did get. Some people like responding with photos but I was like like. That's the first I've ever seen it's just nuts And Sixty five percent of Hispanic Americans say remove convict forty two percent percent of white Americans say convicted remove fifty six percent of Americans under forty. Five say yes so young people more young people while while forty seven percent of Americans over forty five say yes convict and remove and the most important number in the poll. That in my view is sixty. Nine percent of Americans say witnesses should be called while only twenty six percent. Say No now check this out. Eighty six percent of Democrats. Want to hear from witnesses. Sixty nine percent percent of independence. WanNa hear from witnesses forty eight percent of Republicans want to hear from witnesses. Only forty four percent do not wow. That's the first time I've ever seen a Republican poll flipped. Yeah not in favor of the president. That is crazy. Forty eight percent Republicans WanNa hear from witnesses. That is wild and when you look at that I sat to fifty one percent Senator Americans taking the Senate should vote to convict and remove those are fifty one fifty one percent. Those are all people that already believed that right so the other remainder you know are people who could still be swayed by witnesses. It's not like those are all right. Forty five percent say no right and who knows what chunk of that forty five percent would change their mind in came out and said that guy fucked your way exactly yeah whereas the fifty one percent is already set in stone. Yeah so basically they only pliable to go there. Yeah things that's a really good point you can only go down from there if witnesses are called So that's surprising to me. So the four major voting blocks the four voting blocks people color women young people and independents are all in favor of removing trump. Eight percent of Americans say he abused his power and fifty seven percent say he obstructed Arctic Congress so there are more people who think that he did the things wrong then want to remove him for it so I don't know maybe they just don't understand that you should be removed if you did those things. Yeah why do why people have to suck so bad. Forty two percent of white Americans. Yeah the lowest number YEP Not Good Repin. Okay here's some news to Puerto Rico officials. The Secretary of Housing and family services have been fired for mismanagement of emergency aid after Hurricane Maria they they found a giant fucking warehouse of unused serious items like water. Emergency radios baby supplies they discovered this whole unused mused warehouse of stuff and so they were fired. it's likely that warehouse has been there sitting untouched since two thousand seventeen. I got when I I saw that headline in the photo I thought. Oh this is probably we now from like a reputable news source because it was just such a big headline. Yeah then I looking us from CNN my Holy Shit. I can't even believe you've that if it's so crazy it's bananas That's like some movie shit. Yeah there's a whole warehouse of relief supplies who the fuck. Yeah like. I can't believe I can't I just can't I can't imagine what the I mean. It's like outrageous to me. I can't imagine what it's like being a person who lives Sir struggling every fucking day with government into super government above them. That can't get shit together to help you out now. You've got the earthquakes on top of it right. You're just perpetual. Don't even have power back on the I. It's it's it's awful yeah. It's unbelievably awful an unbelievably unacceptable yelm and they're protesting testing a lot rate right now. Yes and I'm hoping to hear a more about from the dumb candidates as they hit trail Because that really needs to be addressed. Yeah Yeah you WANNA be America you WANNA take over all this fucking land that means you have to take care of it which happens. Yep We want to not and how about Virginia today massive gun rally And you know anti take my gun away. Rally a bunch of Can starry sorry dorks showed up in Cammo and flak jackets and giant huge guns and Basically a walked around the capital Apparently peaceful nothing bad happened So I'm very thankful for you They did arrest several white supremacists. That were planning problems. Owns Leading up to this. But I'm glad that it went safely. I think that speaks a lot to the government. They are Being able to it. Keep it You know they had some early warning stuff. And they had some Intel and they I think they used it properly and made sure that the everybody maintained you know a peaceful protests and And you know hats off to the protesters to For for keeping chill I think look like idiots but yeah I think so too but I'm really glad that nothing bad happened. And and I I know for a fact that The gun nuts. They're gonNA take credit for that when I think it's actually governor Virginia But that was a weird thing that happened today to that was kind of scary to watch. Yeah yeah very scary. Just how volatile that situation could have been obviously and that's what they wanted. They want people to see a whole group of people with guns and think. Oh fuck that could turn real bad real fast and they decided to turn on something that was the whole point is the whole point and I think part of me though honestly was looking at it and I had a weird thing happened in my brain where I was just like doc. Okay I mean I guess at the end of the day you know. The Second Amendment is in our Constitution. So these people like there's not really the only thing that makes it crazy is the brains inside. Had these people I guess I had more of like A. Yeah or the capacity of somebody's weapons. Yeah like having that many. I guess it was a reality check. I can't I shouldn't say calming but it. It was kind of just a reality check like yeah. This is what it looks like. There are a lot of people in America that have guns and it is possible for them to get together and not shoot and kill things and Dan in that sense. I guess it was like again. Not a positive real. Well I think that the the actual gun rights activists wanted to make sure that they didn't have any you know incidents the incidents go down either so I think that they were very careful to make sure that that was taken care of as well. Yeah because that would just I mean it would have really hurt their cause right. The origins of it with the white supremacist unlike nationalists. And just all of you know the shitty facets of that March obviously are awful but the fact that there are people that are you know law abiding citizens have guns and they wanted to get together and you know so maybe there were some more positive facets of it and people were like we just believe in the Second Amendment and we're not crazy thing. What are you protesting exactly? Because you we'll have the guns and and all I want you to do is go through a background check to get it which all y'all probably have done So what are you matt about. I'm not trying to take your gun away from you. I'm trying to just make sure that it's registered and that it you know that it's that I have dino. What the serial number number isn't I know where you live? That's all that's all I want. Yeah he's just want you to have a background check or not have a felony or not beyond the terrorists no fly list. It's not asking for much here. Any little gun law changes and you had to come out with your fucking you know right and I guess my point is like the whole thing was pretty anticlimactic `climactic and for that that was coming in itself I think was very nice. Yeah actually We'll be right back with the good news is stick around everybody that's ag in this episode. Daily beans is brought brought to you by Helix Sleep..

"Times endorsements which I thought was this cute and funny and well played and then closure tweeded and honor So again I can't tell if this message is elect a woman or or we don't want to upset progressives or moderates or I think a stronger endorsement you were just not. If you weren't going to go with one candidate would just be. We endorsed the Democrat in twenty twenty. Like why didn't they just do that. Yeah I agree the fact yeah. It's like no voter. That doesn't help any voter really really giving one progressive candidate in one moderate candidate right. That's like that's like. Who Do you want a progressive or a moderate? What are you yeah and I think I don't know if this is me being cynical but if the last debate had gone a little bit differently in there weren't so many like slam dunks by the women basically onstage closure and worn had are really good night they did? Yeah and I feel like if that didn't happen then that wouldn't have happened. Could be worse happened. It almost seems like they're riding the wave of like Whoa. Yeah women can win. You know which is like great. I mean I'm all I'm all for that I guess but when you say the women right or yeah or even better like you said just the Democrat woman there you endorse a woman right or the Democrat or just something out just to pick these twos and I love them both. I mean I'm not trying trying to say oh you know yeah. It's just kind of strange. It's very strange because it's like you're not really picking a candidate. You're obviously trying to send a message. I think the bigger message to me at least if you read. The article itself is that they didn't pick Biden Sanders And they see called Sanders divisive. And then they I they biden was just to Moderate I guess Or just an all white guy. Yeah I didn't read it. Why did they Bernie was divisive? Does of how he acts. Yeah Yeah just. Because of his campaign and He was divisive in two thousand sixteen even though him in Warren or basically the same unlike most major policy issues. They're not talking about the policy issues though. Oh I think you're talking mostly about his orders and the didn't you know Never Clinton stuff and the Bernier bus stuff. And the how Bernie took a minute to and didn't really strongly endorsed Clinton he he. He did endorse Clinton. Eventually that kind of divisiveness I mean wh regardless of who you love Bernier Hate Bernie Ernie. It was a divisive Democratic primary last election cycle Yeah I guess I wouldn't blame that on Bernie though I would just blame that on the establishment verses progressives which is what that totally was. Yeah a lot of people would disagree but I mean they would disagree with Hillary being an establishment Democrat. You think no I think they would disagree with saying it's not Bernie's fault that he was divisive Got It that's fair fair Just because I think some people that you know me I was Bernie delegate. I think some people thought and I really bummed me out when Sarah Silverman was like get over yourselves and just you know fall in line. I was like what Online with with with Larry stuff after Bernie. Yeah yeah totally Ultimately that was that's the thing to do right it was just people saying really into this guy But I mean I do think that there was a lot of There are a lot of vitriol. Yeah I think so too and I also just want to Provide more nuance to my establishment Democrat comet an establishment. Bushman Democrat. Is One thousand times better. I'm not saying that is like some really. You know. Never Clinton comment Ratto so effort. I feel like I have to say that because I can already sends emails coming in all vote for Cobra Shaw. I'll vote for Biden Sanders for Elizabeth over whoever wins yeah nomination. I Will Buddha. Whoever it is on the topic of establishment though what the New York Times did is dire will be hard? I would hate it but I've oh I like him. He was planned well. It didn't really do I like I. Don't ever take them too seriously. I guess but but would they did do by Picking Cobra Shar Dr and Warren aside from the both being women candidates it's also people who are not considered part of the political the democratic establishment. Really even though Kluber Shar is moderate. She's not Biden. You know she's like a much more nuanced she's a Middle East. Yeah she's a middle. Yeah and I think that's I. I think that was kind of the main thing is it wasn't biden her sanders. I think that that was and those are the two leaders in most of the polls and most of the places There are obviously exceptions to that. Yeah Yeah I could talk about this for a long time. I have a lot of opinions on that. I read the article. I though it's interesting yeah you're GONNA get mad though it'd be like yeah. Yeah but I felt like this week specifically shit hit the fan between the dams and I don't know if it started with the handshake or if it started with the Warren thing saying about the women are Sanders. Saying women can't win but I swear to fucking God. A the amine was shared a video with shared that was specifically cut by the Bernie campaign about Biden saying Biden wants to cut social security. Then yes Biden said in the past he wants to make adjustments but but all in all he does not want to cut social security and there was a meam that the sanders campaign put out with Joe Biden with a pair of scissors and a giant social security card and I it came came from an unverified account. I don't think it's part of the Bernie campaign at all comes kick jobs but it got picked up by the campaign and so I tweeted. I was like you guys Biden. Doesn't want to cut social security talk about if you don't like his vote on the Iraq war if you don't do but to come out and just blatantly say that a Democrat wants to cut social security. I don't care how fucking moderate or opponent by Wall Street they are there. No Democrat is going to cut social security. There's not not going to do it. And the Congress won't let him especially. If we elected Democratic Senator Democratic we keep the House and I got my ass chewed by bots. Damn and they're all pro Bernie now these aren't actual affiliated Bernie campaign things but these are you know and we had this in two thousand sixteen and and not just with Bernie we had it with Tulsi. This is bad actors. GOP under Russia trying to sow discord between Democrats. And I'm like WHOA. WHOA WHOA slow down crazy when you have a body interaction or multiple like Yeah and so I go to bought Sentinel and I run what it says. And they were all like eighty ninety percent bought Talbot and I was like okay. Stop Yeah this is stop spreading this stuff and then when I found somebody who wasn't about I was like where are you getting this. But I'm not gonNA sit there and argue for Joe Biden forever because I mean he's not my first choice right but like let's be real factual about what we're sharing. We have to be cognizant. It's like we forgot. Two Thousand Sixteen happened. Yeah digits feel this. I feel like after the like as we're coming up into the weeks of Iowa that bought net that artificial official intelligence that epoch times fucking Russia Cambridge Analytica Shit is starting to heat up where they're taking those accounts that used to be just like. Hi My name's Barbie and I like dogs and now they're politicizing them in an attacking people and I think it's just GonNa be ten times worse than it was in two thousand sixteen. I want people to be aware of it. I know Y'all are and listening to this show. Yeah but it's like really like ramped up this week and it's frightening it's frightening the if the if the campaign did pick that up. That is disappointing. Because I think Bernie has made a name for himself a lot of times being the person that says let's not engage in that shit slinging basically there's enough substantive substantive arguments to have with one another and he does say that all the time I think what Biden is looking for now for him to say no. I don't think Joe US I don't think Joe is going to cut those and he should say that because because they haven't yet the Iranian everyone on twitter like fucking fuck. Ain't your face. Yeah Hey yeah like you said there with Biden and if you look down just a list of key issues he is plenty. He's not for federal leave legalizing marijuana for Exa- There's plenty of actual will real things that he's said that you don't have to guess about more find or have semantic arguments about that. You can talk about if if you really want to slam other candidates leading up to the primary. I personally don't like that but I understand I don't want to say I don't want to take away debates from people to say. Hey here's the negative parts about the number one rival to the candidate I want. And here's why my candidate's better I don't WanNa take that away anyway. I wouldn't presume to either but but just come out with Shit. That's just not even real. It's like man and this and I don't blame Bernie and I don't blame Ah I don't blame the candidates and I don't blame the campaigns I mean. I wish that they would come out and stomp it out. I wish because it seems like when batch batch comes out all the dams are guilty of letting its hang out there for a minute. They're all guilty of that and I wish they would stop it out fast that come on. We can't fucking let this happen again because if we shoot holes into the candidate that we don't like to try to get our candidate to win the primary and then that other person gets the nomination we're back to twenty sixteen where people people sit home and vote because they don't because they're mad that their candidate didn't win or so emotionally invested. Yup and I just don't want to see that happen. Yep It's hard for people to pull back from going so far down if really yes and I felt that really hard too. Because they're like well am I a fucking fraud. It's like a kind of a hard thing that keeps. Yeah when you go so hard hard especially if you start getting into the troll stuff on the Internet and you're like giving people shit for it and stuff then it just step back and be like sitting at the polls just thinking fuck doc. Yeah yeah all right. Well it is and you're right. We could have all show about this but we do have more news to get to including A breakdown of the trump impeachment defense brief Jordan. You have that.

"The hot notes? Hot notes all right during an appearance on. ABC's ABC's This Week House Intel Chair and impeachment manager Adam Schiff said the NSA national security agency and the CIA Maybe withholding documents related to Ukraine from Congress because of pressure from trump and the White House. He was asked about what he was. So he's on this show and they asked him about reporting from politico that intelligence agencies. I don't want to testify in public during the upcoming world threat brief and instead of asking for a private briefing and we talked about this on the weekend shows They're afraid ready to being slammed by trump about anything they say that goes against what trump talks about. His life is pretty much which by the way he surpassed sixteen thousand. Yeah Oh my God who. Whose houses covered tally marks? I don't know who is keeping track. I think it's The Washington Post. Okay that makes sense I'm expecting them to publish sometime. During the impeachment like all sixteen thousand lives on on like two pages like super tiny like they did with the mole report but totally. We'll we'll see if they do that. if you're if you haven't thought about that you should do that. Washington Post if that's you if not whoever whoever it is So if you remember last year during the the same brief the world threat brief intelligence officials for example said Iran was complying with the nuclear deal. And they weren't as much of a threat is trump said they were calling them extremely a passive And trump got pissed. He blew up about it and shift confirmed that news from politico that the intelligence agencies wanted to a private world threat brief because they don't want the public backlash from the President But I think that it would be good for us to know What is actually happening instead of what we hear from trump that's that's scary And I'm sure trump would be fine with a private briefing doesn't want us to know what's really going on So so shift confirmed that news from from politico and then added that Ukraine related documents are being blocked by the White House He says quote and I'll say something even more concerning to me and that is the intelligence community is be is beginning to withhold documents from Congress on the issue of Ukraine the NSA in particular is withholding what potentially relevant documents to our oversight responsibilities abilities on Ukraine but also withholding documents potentially relevant That the senators might WanNa see during the trial he goes on to say there are signs that the CIA may be on the same course. We are counting on the intelligence community. Not only to speak truth to power but to resist pressure from the administration to withhold information from Congress because the administration fears that they incriminate them We have no information on. What's in these documents? Shift knows Oh not I mean obviously not. What's in the ones? He hasn't gotten Unless he knows news waiting for him or he knows what he's expecting exactly but something the NSA can do is intercept conversations between the Linski and Ukrainian officials that could be explosive to trump's defense that he put no pressure on the cranium government so the NSA can do that and what they can't do is intercept. Trump's yeah conversation they're like. The apple of the government gives us the phones. Unlock it The Intel Committee has been seeking documents quietly from the NSA since last fall. We didn't know this until this reporting came out in Washington Post and Schiff and the NSA had apparently gently struck up an agreement about what would be handed over It turns out the. NSA stopped short of what they had agreed to. Though the administration says they're not blocking walking. It's just taking a minute and delay is trump's only defense. Oh that makes sense. This administration slow rolls. Everything from trump appointed judges is refusing to move court cases. Forward the McFadden slowing down the House Ways and Means Committee case to get the trump's tack the trump tax documents as part of its review review of the Presidential Audit Program at the IRS. That it's been sitting around since June or July. Nothing and in the same court. Meanwhile everything else is already up to the Supreme Court and that's trump appointed judge trevor mic Trevor Trevor Mic Trevor Trevor McFadden Trevor McFadden And and then of course we have the release of the Muller. Memo's the three Oh to the interviews They've been dripping out and we found out that they're blocking the Kushner one. I think it's was was released. But it was that fully redacted one with the name redacted too that's my beans around that Because in the in the dump dump number three there was a like a thirty one page interview fully redacted totally blacked out. As was the name of the person interviewed I think that's the Kushner one but still redacting and blocking Or the McCabe documents surrounding his firing. Those still haven't come out even though the judge was like you know Fisher cut bait you have to either stop the investigation hand over the documents that like all right. Well okay. I'll do it. She alone and they still haven't so just delay delay delay. That's all that's all they have. That's all they can do That's really frustrating. And it's got to be frustrating trading for Adam Schiff and the intelligence communities. I've just I've feeling like I again. I've been feeling like we're at a tipping point for a long time. Yeah Yeah what is like a very pain fully slow teeter. Yes the tantric justice situation yes to Tantric Teeter Board Tantric Teeter Board. I wonder too. If they're just waiting on Durham to with McCabe for example like let's just extend this until we can have Durham. Come out with some bullshit that will then embolden thus to come out with an indictment against McCabe. Yeah but I mean. They're waiting on him too because he hasn't found shit just like they were just like the McCabe you know we don't well no no everything's cool were you know. Oh no we'll get a new grand jury. I mean it's just absolutely ridiculous and then you know like we've talked about this in yesterday's episode the I G report from the FBI field office hasn't come out. They delayed everything as much as they could. I know they didn't want that. FUCK IN G report to come out from the Department of Justice is on on the opening of the trump Russia. Investigation But they had a couple of gems in there like the seventeen problems with the FIFA right You're talking about the Horowitz. Yeah weren't yeah. The yeah the thing this stuff that ray addressed in a letter saying we acknowledged that these Ra like fuck ups. Yeah that Chris Wray talked about. Yeah and then everyone tried to blow them up as much as they could two days later. Yeah that's the only reason that thing came out is 'cause there were seventeen mistakes in the face of warrant although no wrongdoing I'm doing or a political bias was found and of course they had a way to spin that so just like they couldn't really keep the Muller reports from coming up but they sure shit could change everybody's way of viewing it Before it got here and from the Associated Press check this shit out. The White House Advisor on Europe and Russia has been placed on administrative leave pending security related investigation Asian according to two sources familiar with his ouster. His name is Andrew Peak p. e. k. peak peak at you and he was unceremoniously escorted warded off the White House grounds on Friday unceremonious. That happens so much. During this administration people are just walked out without poked with his stick spine get Get off my lawn lawnmower kid. Hey that guy out here but my life I gave it to so you. The White House has no comment But this guy has only been there since November. He was the guy who took over for Tim Morrison who resigned before he testified in the impeachment inquiry Korea who took over for a hill before she resigned before she testified in the impeachment inquiry. And then this is the third guy. He was an army intelligence officer. This is who've intimate intimate reported directly to by the way He was an army intelligence officer served in Afghanistan. He was supposed to travel with trump to Davos but was pulled from the itinerary last week and then resume era she and Malcolm Nance and a couple of other people are reporting that both peak and another NFC advisor on Iran named Goldberg. We're both removed. Because they had been compromised by honeypots Russian women. Working for the Kremlin that apparently stole laptops and phones from them Well they were. I don't know they were ladies of the night. Well they were you know rushing agents but like was involved of some kind kind of like a boot and beauty and the beast Ericsson Situation K.. But that is like what they're trying to suggest yet. Russian hookers. Okay that worked the Kremlin is what they're they're publishing. I didn't want to use the word. Hooker Ri- right. Yeah but I mean they're spies right. But yeah that's their whole thing is to be hot and seduced dealerships locked up abroad origin. Story kind of stuff is yeah So Apparently they're in to that but no they're in trouble offer that or they're just getting removed because they're compromised. We don't know much about it because no mainstream media outlets reporting it. It's only the it's only like Nansen A couple of I mean you know verified sources who work closely with this kind of thing Yeah it it seems like they're a security risk and there there is an investigation to But I mean if they were compromised and didn't know and had their shit stolen. I don't know how they could be Prosecuted for anything other than maybe you know soliciting a the sex worker but yeah or even if it might not even that they might have broke protocol by having that that person in in their room or something in a way that they could even I could get access to those things. Yeah that's that's again that you would just be fired for that I don't know how how mishandling classified information that is like. I doubt look into it like they looked into Hillary's emails is what do you think it could have been a potential setup. Maybe if this person was a direct report to Vin men could be That was my thought to like now. Everyone who gets removed. I'm like why yeah exactly. Why right? We'll because they're obviously not doing the stuff that would effectively move our foreign diplomacy forward. There are only checklist of things to do are only the things that served the president at this point peak for example he was in Iran Iraq adviser before they pulled him to cover for. Tim Morrison after Tim Morrison left after Fiona Hill left and so and that was all in like a two month period and this might have happened when he was doing that but but apparently you know they put him in opposition at some point What some people are alleging is is that he was compromised by Russian? Spies women female or a female. I don't know if there's more than one and the New York Times has made their endorsement for the Democratic candidate for president and they chose to the two women in the race minus Tulsi Gabbard They picked Elizabeth Warren and Abe cleo which are I'm weird out a little by this I don't know why I feel. I'm just a little uncomfortable with it. I don't think they were chosen to men if it came down to it but I have not seen a good reaction on the Internet to this. It's weird right. It's like it's like It's like it's like trying to have your cake and eat it too. It's like because on one minutes both women you know. I know that it's Club. HR were there. There's two different ways to look at it. There's there's a way to look at it that it's the women but minus Tulsi Gabbard And and that doesn't bother me so much as the flipside of that would they have done it with two men. Then it's like well is this is a sort of a sexist thing but then also thinking you've picked a moderate candidate in a progressive candidate. Yes that's the part. That's extra weird to me to and and that's just just because you don't want to piss off half the Dems I'm not very familiar with their endorsement process. Do they normally just pick one handed it yet. Okay got it and and if it was just the women they didn't pick Kelsey. Yeah but I guess it is fair to only pick from the people that were actually on the stage. I guess in a top-five yet here but I mean you can't say they picked all the women right So I don't know if that's it But it just seems odd like I duNNo. Now Yeah I appreciated Warren enclosures reactions On twitter worn tweeted. So I guess amy. Klobuchar are now both undefeated in New York..

Look I wish you all the best life as far as markets go. Well let's look at the top ten right now. Look we got another down day. I only minimal many of the top ten. I mean bitcoin hovering just above eight thousand now threatening got to break down rating with a look at the chart here on bid. Phoenix was sitting at eight thousand one hundred eighteen Dan half percent. It's not a great deal that it's a little bit of the support that will start to come in around that I'd say eight thousand eighty six. That's pretty horrible. Looking level yesterday there was definitely coupled potentials in wireless BICYC- attention talking was is one of those of you who subscribed my free service. That tried to cub dot com. If you subscribe you get a video awake or two sometimes for me getting a bit analysis and yesterday's Wolman on basic attention taken against Bitcoin. It's set a marvelously. Well for cradled tried. It just didn't treat US those no entry on that one God. Donna also is threatening threatening to look fantastic once again did not trigger so it is a period of time at the moment. We're having to sit back. Relax Watch say what the market does and if it does anything at all I shall be ready sleep. I'm also easing myself back into the market. It's being I'm Tom Out. Obviously with my travels and whatnot Trade travel as I said yesterday For me it's about easing easing myself. Back in I'll take the very best trades The calm about and for the time being the haven't been too many great trades only back for a couple of days in the head space to actually take the mock doc a theory. I'm rotten house at one. Seventy five forty ad again dental half percent exactly the same as bitcoin that nothing really. They're trading he all still sitting around that three to three dollars nine nine cents down one point two four percent holding its ground. Grinding down slowly steelers at six point three cents down two point three six percent. Not Not looking all that fabulous. I've got to say again just grinding lower except pays blow twenty nine seeks handle. It's sitting right now. Twenty five cents flat down one point. Six fool percent locked horns flam said yesterday I fifty five twenty four sitting at the sign level down point one of the early market This Day This Day last twenty four for house. It's up is a bitcoin. Cash to forty four twenty six point six six percent so hardly that much. This is one that I am looking to see if we can get a short on. It's pulling back into that cradles. Early coin nauseated state pullback in a little bit further looking Abban ads against US eighteen thousand seventeen cents down one point seven six percent in an arsenal downtrend down the four. Nothing more really at the moment to speak of tron down as well and a daily downtrend up one point six sent down two point five five percent on this monkey died full sense there on cow down very much crab walking just scarring alongside by not doing a great deal on biggest down two point seven percent so I can three percent be as as down two point seven percent at one dollar. Sorry one hundred and six dollars ninety nine and a guy and if I do see a pullback on that eight ow now I will be looking to short that across the markets luck going on as I said yesterday I think atop summit the Havanese doing so much talk about the harvesting hobbling hobbling and guess what usually people talk about that saying that will save the day that will bring the Bulls back will markets change markets adapt. "Going to move in services, this low income area services black area LV, but the Harris teeter is not going to do it. No, no one wants to do it. And so you leave this gaping space where there are people who need to eat people that need to have things and the Dallas does we'll we'll do it. Right. And they'll us won't the money. We'll take it to the tune imagine hopefuls leaving Tim billion dollars a year owned table on the table, and it's more than ten billion. But the ten billion dollars gap, right? So it was actually more than ten billion because you have a lot of people that and you know, people that are hopefuls cost a lot and all that stuff. But you know, if it was there as an option. Compared to you know, no option, right? Our store gets all the money. You know? And it doesn't have to be held. It could be a bunch of places. But yeah, that's just very interesting. You know, even WalMart has a grocery section. Yes. So this means that it must not even be a WalMart over there. It's not in some places that it. Nope. Is nothing is is no WalMart. No target. No, Harris teeter. No Publix is just when they say dares date, literally mean within miles and miles. There is nothing. Now, I'm not saying they're altruistic either. So I'm not saying Dollar General is like we need to help these people know, they're just a business entity in a capitalist country that goes. Oh, yes. So y'all just gonna forego this money where we'll take it writes it right in particularly when you talk about like the rural areas you talking about the places that I literally out in the middle of nowhere and the population of every small they'll lie a will come here and serve the people. Because this isn't the thing fucking yells out here for mouse, right? And you know, that's one of the things that I think when we say rural in America people's mind goes to white, but not as black people in rural areas a lot of times. And then doctors don't want to go there. The market tends degree as well. With Dollar General court value far above the largest grocery trained kogo Kroger company with with still has revenue five times that of the dollar store. Competitor one reason is.

"It's like this imagine the decision making part of your brain is a teeter totter the left side of the teeter totter that's where you put your system one in put your emotions your feelings your gut instincts the right side of the teeter totter that's where you put system to data facts and figures pros and cons stuff that may be a little more abstract normally when you're just comfortably going about your day to day life the full chroma of that teeter totter is right near the middle so any emotional input you have around a decision it's balanced out with logical data think about it like this you're walking past a doughnut shop and you think men those donors look really good i want one right now but i'm also trying to cut back on doughnuts because logically i know they're bad for me so the teeter totter wobbles lands on the data side and you walk on by okay now imagine that you're walking past that don't shop again but this time you're under a bit of stress you have an lunch and you're getting angry or maybe you're upset about something at work now what do you do that emotional end of the teeter totter takes on some extra weight doesn't it when you're under really stressful conditions like you know climbing a mountain in life or death circumstances it's not just that the emotional system one end of the teeter totter takes on extra weight it's like the whole fulcrum of that teeter totter has moved and suddenly it's going to take a lot more data free to make a rational decision rather than an emotional one essentially when you're stressed out emotions win.
