"Time to play the game. I never admit to he's wrong because he's ever round your questions and give us topics events that we question was job throughout our childhood. He would not admit he was wrong. Do you question if this is spent basketball or tanking? Okay. The Washington Wizards and the Chicago Bulls don't do anything other than play bad basketball. But when you look at this clip, you tell me whether the bull center year, at least he'll the center for the bulls, check him out here because the bulls are up one thank you for the air on and. Is not trait defense. He was talking to coach go. That's the old from the playing. In the game. I was played JV basketball seventh grade I was so excited to get in the game itself. Gotta go to the scores table, and I ran into in center court young put a sub and thought I was in the right? So I can relate to that kind of boat headed play. But that is professional. Bothered of your lease. You got into the game. Funny. That is funny. So very funny. Do you question if they should disqualify mouse Turner as defensive player of the year candidate who is your favorite Detroit piston you're always talking about him? You've been talking about him for a couple of years ago. Mr over. Reggie. Oh there as Reggie Jackson. Here is going up miles turning. The corner against Turner. Oh, these call. Of so nasty nowadays, the nightly occurrence, it is another nothing gets old. No. That was really good. That was a nasty step bed. Looks like somebody shot him in the killings. Stepped on his disqualified from the highlight reel of nasty crossovers step back because stepped on his foot. The you-know-who miles stern reminded me off who's that? Oh, look out. He's gonna show us. Instead. Oh. What is all? Oh, what the best video ever captured in the cell phone era of human history. Irna watch miles Turner right here. Don't give up. Don't be. How do you question? If this guy got lucky, okay? We love to accuse others of getting lucky to take away merit and respect from them on television. Did this person get lucky? Oh, Tedy Bruschi goes down the hard. Supervised. Well, wait a minute. The let's respect the question here. He did get lucky landed on the box. I don't know. What is in the it might be limestone for all, I know or jagged coral reef? But it looks here. Like, he might have gotten lucky. Bucks jumps can be dangerous. Do PR. Oh that was decidedly on. Clay Matthews on that defense is a bad defense last year. So his numbers dipped I can be an effective guy. But I I just think Mark Barron was the better player in the position. Although they do it differently. I think the Rams have not move much. I think is I've talked to people NFL insiders about these bears. It's all remain the same Tedy Bruschi was saying the other day to me that the bears don't need to make any moves. They're in a good place right now. Building the draft a great. All right. "I mean, there there are so many variables in this that as much as any of us want to sort of figure out who we think Bob Kraft is and then make it work to this narrative. Honestly, it's just as much as we feel like we know somebody because they become such a part of culture in such a part of what we see all the time around a legacy in the NFL in around sort of a legacy of success in the NFL. It doesn't take anything away from the fact that at this point he's been accused of doing something that is, you know, depending on what level of guilt, he has it is, you know, it's either just illegal or its stinking awful. And as as you said, and we want to stress here. This case is part of a larger crackdown on human trafficking, a human trafficking ring in south Florida. That's why this particular massage parlor was under surveillance. So what we know right now is that according to police he's been accused of soliciting prostitution. No one's made it clear yet what his level of knowledge to anything else. And I think that's part of the shocking news. And I say shocking because there is this moment where we all feel like we've gotten to know, Bob graph. Because of the way we see him. Some people do know him from their interaction with them Tedy Bruschi Bruschi one of our ESPN ESPN NFL analysts on NFL live today. How a real and honest moment about his reaction to the craft news knowing that he made his career playing for this, man. Check this out cries than south is an understatement. You know, Mr. craft is something someone who I care very deeply about. So hearing this if I guess that's a big if if this were true, I'd be extremely disappointed, but myself, I think along with all of all of the fans of the New England Patriots are holding onto that, you know, they can sit and statement that he released it's a tough confusing time right now for myself for a lot of fans of the New England Patriots that something like this would happen to the leader of an organization that everyone in this region. I guess look to. Way too way to the way things should be done in the right way. And this is, you know, it's a tough day know, I mean, I'm not surprised that's Teddy's response his relationship with craft and that organization, I don't begrudge him that natural response. But that last bit about everybody looking to this organization as as the way to do things the right way is kind of a shock considering the amount of issues they've had whether that's investigations into spy gate. Deflate gate. The Aaron Hernandez enabling of of his actions and actually facilitating a flop house form, whether it's signing players after they've been cut elsewhere due to crimes, I think there's maybe a a little bit of an of an real varnish put over some some flaws there. That's fair. I mean, some point what this is about a success. I mean when when everybody says do at the patriot way what most fans are talking about is not any of the other issues. It's getting done do the doing. The patriot way means you want to watch your favorite team win. Olot? And that's that's what this is about this separates. The the newsroom from Robert Kraft has two separate from anything. We think about the patriots about the patriot legacy. Frankly, even about the team on the field. I mean, this is about Robert Kraft them in making a terrible decision..

Because you know, how Tedy Bruschi is gonna help break down the defense doesn't work anymore. You know, but just doesn't work anymore half, our storylines are gone but Brady still here. Get ready for that the one that I said last week though Brady legacy if he loses he's just five and four C's just a five hundred quarterback in the in the SuperBowl. Forget that it's been nine times still still loss for more than ever the franchise anything else over there. Sure about this. Anthony Davis who blew Windhorst. What is on get up this morning and said that the Knicks if the Knicks are willing to include their unprotected first round pick. They could quote put together a competitive offer that would help the pelicans do a rebuild for who for Anthony Davis. Yeah. So who's gonna play with Spike Lee? And who I mean seriously who would be left? We'll go Burg as a coach. There we go. I don't know. But went to keep the Nixon mind over the next ten be play with how do you build? It doesn't matter. Ben Roethlisberger is 'clearly a part of the problem'

"Next. Next team president art Rooney. The second said Wednesday that talks have started between the Steelers and Ben Rothlisberger on a contract extension. Big Ben who turns thirty seven in March has one year remaining on his current deal. And let's keep in mind. There's been a lot of drama and Pittsburgh fellas and Tonio Brown apparently wants out lay beyond bells that out the entire season. Not to mention that Big Ben has been going back and forth on retirement these past couple of seasons. Tedy Bruschi still here with us joining us from the Pro Bowl and Orlando I teddy. There you are. We got you got you and all your friends in the background is big and more of a problem or a solution because this franchise feels like a mess right now. Because both he's he's definitely a part of the problem because they no other men in which he's handled things. I mean, again, you know, you you've got numerous players. You've got numerous NFL aficionados that have religiously called out Big Ben for saying things in throwing people under the bubble in the fashion of the quarterbacks. Don't this is not me talking. This is basically reporting what they've said as max is done as many others. If you watch Big Ben you talking about juju Smith Schuster. We should have thrown the ball of him every time you say something like that. You've got to know you've been around Antonio Brown long enough to know, how those kind of things would affect him along with various other things in other positions that he has taken that. We don't have time to get into in the end when it comes down to is that has made him a part of the problem because Big Ben is live by different set of rules. He's a bit flagrant with it. And I don't give a. AM who you are anytime you receive preferential treatment that you are you are playing by different set of rules as everybody else you are going to rub people the wrong way, especially when you consider the individual who abuses, the privilege. That's the bottom line. Having said all of that. When you look at Big, Ben he's also a part of the solution because nobody's perfect everybody makes mistakes. And if you're willing to man up in knowledge that you could have done better in certain respects. I think that would go a long way, I think the thing that the Tonio Browns of the world and others that are incredibly frustrating is not that big been mixed the mistakes, they made is that he doesn't necessarily he isn't necessarily deemed as an individual that learns from apologized showed the pope level of contrition and move forward without making sure not to repeat those mistakes again throughout the years. You've seen a pattern of behavior that has been consistent with him in that he has gotten away with it. If you listened to those NFL players Antonio Brown is one of those NFL player. Here's somebody that has said that. And as a result, you a big band you want to alleviate this situation you speak up. You recognize us where you're at fault. And I think if he did that that would go along way. So he's both a problem and a problem solver in all of this because he's right in the middle of everything as the stock quarterback of the team who obviously has is outspoken, Saddam. Well, we agree and disagree because I think he is part of the problem the solution. But for very different reasons part of the problem because Ben Rothlisberger is like a rich man's Eli manning. He is too good for your team. Just to stink almost no matter. What's going on? Right. You're good. A win some games. Maybe make the usually make the playoffs. So how do you get his successor? There's no succession, I just talked about how you know, unless you're Bill Belichick level. And it's not so easy to find a quarterback when you're not drafting up high. You know, it's more of a crap shoot. They don't have the person there that they feel can take the reins of the team if they're truly grooming. It doesn't seem to me on the other end. Therefore at the moment. He reads a lot of power because when you don't have that. But you do have a talented team. And you have a quarterback who's shown he can still play at a very high level, and we're in an era. That's right teddy in an era where older quarterbacks are clearly protected in ways. They've never been you look the level. Tom Brady is still playing at forty one. Drew Brees at forty then rothlisburger at thirty seven that that they realize, oh, wait a minute as beat up as he's been as much as he talked about retirement. He's still maybe has some years of football left in him. We don't have as backup. So he wields probably too much influence and he seems to at times publicly throw players under teammates under the bus. He's a problem because he's too good to get that next quarterback with the draft pick. He's your solution to the extent that you're good because he's a really good quarterback. And if you ain't got that, you ain't got anything. I'm with both you here because Big Ben has been a problem, and he can be a part of the solution. But this is what's happening here as you're talking about max. The quarterbacks in this league getting older and older and still being able to play past forty. What's happening is a generational gap. A generational gap between the quarterback and all of the younger skilled players and all of the younger players on defense that are ended up being a part of this team and the ability to relate. So they're almost these kids are coming in plan. I mean rothlisburger will have players coming in make sure that have had his poster on the wall or something like that that group as fans, and so how does that quarterback that aging quarterback you mentioned breeze Brady and rothlisburger? How was he able to relate to them and make them feel like still an equal? And as one of his teammates, this is where Ben Rothlisberger has failed has he failed. Also and other aspects where Stephen as talking about what he's calling out teammates where he's got no business when he should have when he's the one making bad plays. Also. Yes, I agree with that. But he needs to learn to start to relate to these younger generation of players because he will continue to get older, and that gap is. Real and you'll see players life Brees. How he still it seems like medicine Brady and breathes? They're old. Okay. How do they still have these close bonds with these young players that come into their teams and their teammates talking about them like they're best? How does that happen? There's something. Character wise that breeze and Brady has right now that Rothlisberger is lacking. I need your help with something here. Because here's what you lost. You talked about him relating to the other players, and I don't disagree with that teddy. The problem is it eight the younger players complaining about him and Tonio Brown is thirty years old. He's been big big Big Ben Rothlisberger his teammate for almost the past decade. It's a feeling that I've had with the quarterback that I played with and a lot of the saints and a lot of these older players on these teams that are mentioning they have the overwhelming thought in their mind that my quarterbacks got my back. No matter what that's what I think's not there in Pittsburgh. It seemed like it seems like if something happens the quarterback isn't there to either bail you out off the field the Bill you out on? "I think our show doesn't run up against anyone or anything that causes sparks more than we run up against football. I got in trouble that I didn't care about one time because Jon Gruden and Sean McDonough got all upset that I or their staff that I said, I didn't wanna watch Monday night football that night. And if that's the barrier on sensitivity, we really should start criticizing anyone as network, but we bump up against the NFL a lot and one of the reasons is and this was a funny meeting. Mike had a year ago about Baghdad Bruschi where had to go up there. And explain what we meant by Baghdad Bruschi because we were channeling the IRA. Iraqi. Press secretary who was laughably Aligarh in public. And we were just laughing about the idea that any time there's anything patriots related Bruschi PR machine superhero like springs into action and ends up on the set of first take sportscenter inevitably defending the patriots. That's how that one works. And with very few examples to the contrary if anyone can send me a sentence that Tedy Bruschi has ever said that can be deemed pejorative about the patriots. Please do. So because I every he comes on. And we turn on the sound Tedy Bruschi is defending the patriots and the patriots way because he believes in that. What do you think he's going to do in the pitchers suck one day? And evidently, I'll probably stop talking about them on air. Go do something else with his life. When we don't obsess with the patriots that they will never come. That's right. I don't know what you're talking about. We we established yesterday that Tom Brady's grave will never go unattended because he's never get in like he's just going to keep playing. He is going to be. He is going to put the one loss on father times. Resume will open the no, that's right. So I want to play some sound here. I'm not familiar with what the sound is. But a lot of people have been taken swings at Stephen a Smith lately, especially when he looked vulnerable after what happened with the Cowboys against the saints. But Tedy Bruschi evidently has taken a shot at max. Now, I've not heard this. I've just been told about it. But I was surprised because that's not Tedy Bruschi game. He doesn't take shots at people. "But that doesn't change the fact that everybody was still picking them to go to the Super Bowl in the preseason. Like, you can't come in and say nobody thinks we're going to just because a quarter of the way through the season. They had some rough games and people reacted to that. That's what you do. You can react sent we're supposed to not make anything of twenty six to ten loss to the lions. We're supposed to not make anything of losing to the titans. They lost to some bad teams. And guess what? When you're spectacular as an organization, and you lose games. You don't usually use lose people are going to talk about talk about it. It's going to mean something which we do with every team when they lose does. This mean, something is it a blip? And for the most part it's been a blip. Listen, max Kellerman has been talking about the potential for Brady to be sort of falling off a cliff and admittedly everyone under industry at some point is asked how long can this last? He is defying all expectations. But some of the patriots heard it they said he's struggling at his job. And then Tedy Bruschi are on ESPN NFL analyst was on. I take and doubled down to Max's face. You can tell that some of the guys listen to max, and they watch I take, and they know what's being said about you know, max and his and his and his cliff comments. And I don't wanna tell max to stick the boxing or anything like that. Because I mean, you got a job to do maximum understand. You gotta you gotta talk about what you see just think you're struggling job a little. I'm not struggling my appeal shocking about we got losing streaks before. Three in a real struggle. It's okay. If you're gonna losing streak, it's okay. Just admit sometimes when you're when you're in the middle of a losing streak is okay too. That's all I'm saying, I'm saying. I mean, it's I get what teddy same, man. I mean at some point to what we were just saying when when a team goes through a rough spot it's like reading a book and having to analyze the book four chapters in that's what you have to do in the NFL. When when you do we do you don't you don't have the not the the fantastic luxury of waiting until the entire book is finished. And then saying, hey, check it out though. I know we're only four four chapters in, but this books gonna be great. You know that luxury all you can do is analyze it up to that point. And I don't think it's on unfair and Alice's, you know, as as great as certain musicians and singers like Stevie wonder's, an incredible singer, one of the greatest influences on my musical life. Right. But Stevie Wonder probably not seeing it as well today as he did in the seventies. And that's like that's okay to admit and still say, hey, like, maybe he wasn't as great. That's where I think we are in the the patriots conversation. They've turned it into some sort of we stink and people hate us mantra, and I don't know where that comes from. Well, it reminds me actually have. When Kevin Durant is like all the media. So nice to LeBron there. So tough on me. And we're like. You don't like you skated all the entire time. And okay. So it's like the patriots on their locker room. And they hear one analyst max Kellerman saying Tom right before off a cliff, and it's a personal affront, and they send in their their beef Tedy Bruschi to handle their business, right? Every other team gets dogged on a regular basis, and they're like, well, we're used to it. Right. So I think that's part of it. But what's interesting is if you're looking for a sort of voice of reason, someone to put to rest, the idea that this narrative of we suck and everybody thinks we stink is totally Bs, and it's totally fabricated in order to get I guess people more fired up if you need someone to remind you that it's a championship weekend to get to the Super Bowl, and you shouldn't need to have some phone narrative of no one believes in us. Then this is who you go to..

"Win. Wanted division. They had the whole. No, okay. The Seahawks in big tonight. Wildcard game against the Cowboys. Seattle was oh to this year when their season turned around by way of a twenty four thirteen win over those Cowboys consider both quarterbacks ability to win games in his first three years. Russell Wilson won more games than any other NFL quarterback with thirty six. Dak Prescott finished tied for bid on that list with thirty two. The duo also have an NFL leading twenty four games with at least one hundred passer rating in their first three season. Dax is shown it in the regular season. But the pressure will be to win in this second season. Tedy Bruschi on the will Cain show on that subject such thing as winners. I think he's a winner. But he's got a proven now especially in certain franchises. I mean there are certain franchisees where you've got such a standard of winning in Dallas the Dallas franchises right there at the top. You don't get considered as as much until you start winning in the playoffs. You make deep. In the playoffs. The Cowboys the Steelers the bears those type of franchises where they're used to win in Super Bowls and don't talk to me about regular season success and this game is so it's so telling to me for Dak Prescott because in terms of the style that he has playing and how that does have that ability to to run the zone Reed. And bef let it can also be a runner. Those type of things Russell's is to me has been the gold standard of all that because he's still accurate on the pulls everything like a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Does all of that can throw from the pocket. He's looking on the other side line. I think in a way that that's that's how good I want to be. So to beat Russell would be very will be a huge win for deck. Yeah. It'd be poetic almost to your point of taking that mantle playing that style arriving at that status of winter that Russell already has about four cowboy Darren Woodson on the. Subject of Dak Prescott can carry the Cowboys to the promised land. It's not just the team. It's individuals as well. As Dak Prescott is going to be under some pressure based off of the success that this organization has had in the past. When you look at the history of this organization. The Roger Staubach of the world. The Troy was big time success as far as winning playoff games advancing in that manner become becoming heroes within Dallas winning Super Bowls. But then over the years things have changed. Tony Romo had a test is greatest Tony romo's career. Was he he didn't. He only won two playoff games in his time. As a Dallas cowboy back needs to find a way to set himself. If said his legacy within this organization this game around last last year they lost to the Green Bay Packers. This time around they need to find a way to win this game and skiing and continue moving forward. But it's about his legacy. And he's he's a historian and he understands the game of football. Those exactly where he fits Prescott aside though. Jeff Darlington on a key matchup in this kickoff. Jack navy one hundred hundred ten carries on Saturday. I mean, this this says that he feels so ready and so prepare for this damn you actually noted a couple of days ago after.

"You. So much. It's so interesting because you wanna you wanna look at this chief team because you look at them last year what five and all right? And then the the season that went on from their two thousand thirteen it were nine nine with Alex Smith at quarterback, and they went to and five their last seven games ended up not even winning the division. I don't believe that year that the lost in the wildcard round to Houston when they had used like five quarterbacks during the season. I think two thousand thirteen I think I think it was. But then again, that's where they started out nine. And no my point being more that it's like, yeah. I look into the platform the colts. Maybe the they lost to the colts. They lost to the colts. At you. High forty four big comeback. Unreal Dwayne everybody. And then you go back to Andy Reid and Philadelphia close into deal closing the deal. You know, this guy goes to NFC championship game after NFC championship game one to and they can't run them out of town fast enough. But that's gonna be the book is, okay. It all looks good. But can they finally close it out? They've been there before Andy Reid has been there before, you know, Philadelphia. Kenny finally, close it up man with this with Mahomes. It just seemed like the kid is just fearless out there last night was about teams that were both there to try and show. They could defy expectations of those past versions of themselves and one team in Kansas City, continued to stave that off for the time being and the other in the Bengals invited all the usual, criticisms, right? Exactly. I mean, I think that's another loss by Andy Dalton on Sunday night. I don't think he's a verse to Sunday night. I think normally if you're on a Sunday night, you're playing it gets a really good team. It's a Mark up more than anything else. But to the point about Andy Reid, here's Andy Reid, not talking about Patrick Mahomes, but talking about the running game, which let's hope he can. Continues to talk and remember about throughout this entire season Kareem is what you did last year too mean he's playing as well as any rain back in the National Football League. He's not only running the ball like crazies, catching the football. I actually took him out before he broke the hundred yard marker had an opportunity to for this game. But he would have done that goes off to Kareem. I just I think he's playing great football right now and tougher bone. So he's punishing right now. And that's. Something to watch. And the interesting thing there guys is we saw this from Corinne last year in his rookie year. And remember he sorta hit that rookie wall right around week nine or week ten and his production fell way off. So you have to think that Kareem now understands better how to handle himself going forward for the longer season in the NFL is opposed to a while. We're given a lot of love to pack them homes and Kareem at offense. But we've seen a lot of power out of that offense. But what have we seen on the other side? We see at times a horrible defense. This defensive went up against what we thought it was pretty good offense or a lot of weapons on offense and only gave up ten points only gave up ten point. Now Cincinnati had to get out of there out of their game plan ios twenty four seven at halftime thirty one seven with eleven minutes ago in the third quarter. So you kind of have to adjust a little bit. But any Andy Dalton fifteen of twenty nine they they rushed for only sixty five yards again, they couldn't run as much because of the game plan. But you gotta get some credit to that the Kansas City Kansas City defense gets put in a nice situation because they get to. Play more one dimensional on defensive knowing the opponent has to pass the ball a little more and that helps and then they have to go out and get the job done. Yeah. You've got to hold up your end of the bargain the way the team is built the two thousand twelve team. I played on at Notre Dame the number one defense in college football. So we knew we were going to get more cracks at it. Because they turn the ball over a lot, and they were going to get more stops, which meant we had more offense obssession. So we had to just hit on a big place. Something put a consistent drive together. Every once in a while to spell them. So that they could go and continue to be great while we were above average on offense for this Kansas City. Chiefs defense, you have to just go out there and pick spots where you get stopped. Be situational the way Tedy Bruschi and others have described modern NFL defense because your offense more often than not is going to put you in more advantageous advantageous situations than almost any other team in football. Absolutely. But you gotta give the chiefs defense credit 'cause the Bengals started that game with the ball. And they started with a three and out which I think, you know, I think people in Kansas.
