"Evolves so quickly against broncos defense that is going to give him some trouble at times is this the rethink bateman can just roll right into this offense. What are the challenges there with him coming back just this week. Doing training camp is that he's for real like he's a real receiver and they like him. They like billion lamar relied on him and when he left the lineup. It became one of those deals. The only guy could throw to was mark andrews in practice. Now you see highly brings dropping balls all sorts of things and and i hate to go back to this we. We talked to we turn blue in the face about their passing gang able to evolve. It's evolved just got to figure out who needs to catch them. But that's why the return of that's what bateman matters because quarterbacks to things as a wide receiver get open catchable get open and catch the ball so hollywood. I don't care if you're getting open so eventually. A quarterback is going to be checked out. And i guarantee you. He's out there hitting back. Because maybe you'll catch it all right. So why receiver fights yeah. It's fun next week when weightman has when and has a whole bunch of catches. You're going to put him on the track. We feed them up. And but go past this one truck freight boys welcome back to. Nfl live presented by draftkings. Love so much this week that you're putting them on the dan wag spill josh allen. It's been so good buyer to the end zone. A have to talk about justin herber. Unlock ten being confident. The white tiger himself rob gronkowski. Wait kelsey dan. Wagging who else does he put last week. You put teddy bridgewater on the dan waggin. Who joins them there today. Shockingly keyshawn spoke glowingly of teddy this. I feel like this guy. Actually is the most likely to hop on a action wagging going to put on minnesota. Vikings quarterback kirk cousins. Now kirk is bowl and it's easy to ball but it makes it a lot easier to join a wagon when you got receivers aikido. Jefferson is absolutely unbelievable feeling listeners by feeling filth. It's gross rhythm. Worst in red zone sets the defender cost space. Who see from the right side screen. Just an absolute perfect throw by kirk cousins. He's planning credible watches route. Oh my goodness. Put them on skates defensive. Back sorry to do that to you. Kirk cousins is the only quarterback in the nfl with eight touchdown passes and no or sections kirk cousins from the minnesota. Vikings is top five in qbr. He stopped five and completion percentage. And he's top five and touchdown passes very quietly. Kirk cousins is kind of put together an mvp type of resume their one play away from being two in one this season. We'd be talking about them a lot more. He is playing incredible football. He's on the dan wagon show. Can you hear it all right next week. I'm keeping this pony. We've got a whole lot more. We gotta get to hurt back to aim of the week and this one all about. Tom brady returning to fox. The much anticipated matchup bucks. Pets finally on us layers of emotion storylines the actual game right. I keep thinking about those videos that we're gonna see of tom. Brady coming out of the tunnel and onto the field. And here's more from brady today. Obviously understand the opponent and i know all those guys third some of my great friends. We'll be for the rest of my life. So i know a lot of coaches players to owners staff It'd be great. See everyone after the game but up until game focused on trying to go into football game for those of you wondering why tom brady is so horse there. A jeff tarkenton reported earlier that he was yelling so much. He lost his voice. I think this week matters adam schefter. You had the chance to sit down with him. Brady's former teammates on your podcast this week. What was the most interesting thing you learned. Will we know that a lot of people never could imagine the day. The tom brady will play in another city in another uniform. Other than new england but tedy bruschi his former teammate. Our colleague espn actually envisioned that day. A while back and he talked about it on the adam. Schefter podcast remember. I remember being in a limo. Not a limo. But i can. Suv with tom and And we were talking about just the that just the whole patriots career and bill in all of that stuff and i remember telling him you know the odds are good that you probably won't finish in new england and this was this had to be six or seven years ago and that was just me sort of like just like a moment like the way. It's gone with bill in the past and learning. Tom and his goal of his longevity home like well. I don't know if that's gonna happen. What was his reaction when you told him. That teddy did not disagree. And i think We both knew that it was a high possibility of happening. So there you have it. Laura tedy bruschi saw coming. Tom brady solo coming some other. People might not have seen it coming but they did. And it's such a big event. Now that for the first time in patriots franchise history the today. Show and the nbc. Nightly new set are going to be stationed in gillette stadium on friday prior to an upcoming patriots. Game in lieu of the match up of. Tom returning home absolutely incredible. It's also a really expensive ticket. By the way. I check out the adam schefter. Podcast great stuff their time now for some draftkings predictions. Let's stay on this game king. Tom brady threw three or more touchdowns this sunday. Laura while you put me in this position. I think he will not about to 'cause it's gonna be a low scoring game all the hype behind that you know how these things go. Everything is built up. Then all of a sudden you look up and say seventy-nine game and everybody's like oh he gets to give tom brady notification their key. Markets will the pass defense sacked. Brady two more times in foxborough elba gaba. Alita gets to at least two times Just i think he'll be under duress enough and they'll take away quick outlived road and they won't hit him hard he'll just duck under and somebody a tap on his older and it account as sack bill will have 'em hold the ball for a few a couple of times or a few times in this game where these guys will be able to get home coming up on the nfl live. Can the number one defense in the nfl simmer down in the cowboys. Carolina lugs bringing. Fresher index is great against the blitz. Which one will give this weekend. We'll tell you that..

"It's perfect except i'm waiting for you to be there. In december so i can get the backdrop correct with the snow. That's the only issue there. I'll be here with my winter coat. Key no yeah. I know you will. You are a very hard working individual. So what's the latest said. What's the latest and the greatest in new england. Patriot land and mack. Jones is now finally got that. W so i guess it would be the monkey off his back well key. Let me start by saying self congratulations on the book coming out today. I'm looking forward to reading it so excited about that. So congrats to you on that. You know here at here in new england. Here's the story. I mean. Max got the first win but you know what the topic of discussion is key is. Why aren't the patriots throwing the ball. More down the field mack jones. Twenty ninth of thirty three qualified passers in terms of average air yards per attempt. So it's almost like one of those things you get the win but we're sort of looking for the next thing and are they holding things back with mac. A lot of screen passes a lot of short passes. And i think what we're seeing. He sort of learning on the job and they're sorta going conservatively with him in this last game. It's like almost like before you can learn to win. You have to learn how not to lose which i think we saw. That's the way sort of zach wilson. The jets quarterback played four interceptions. So how far am i off. When i look back at the early stages of tom. Brady's new england career. The first couple years of super bowls is very you mitchen. The the smoke emirs is what i like to call it. When you protect a quarterback you throw a double past. He throws it to the tie in for a gain of fifty yards so it becomes almost deceiving to the defense some of the things that they did early in tom's career before he became the go jacket. Tom brady key. I think you're right on the money with the fat. You think back to that two thousand one patriots team. That was really a team that was led by its defense pro. Football hall of famer tyler. The cornerback other guys mike. Vrabel a tedy bruschi roman phifer the linebacker. I mean i could go on and on willie mcginest. That was a team that was led by the defense the offense and special teams complemented what they were doing. And i think one of the things the patriots really like about mac is. He's not trying to do too much. He's playing within the structure of the offense and he's allowing the offense to complement a defense that they think is going to be pretty good and special teams units which they feel like are going to be pretty good as well. Mike one of the things. I'm going to be talking about on this just in kiev. I don't know if you've heard about a great new show at two pm on espn. Today is the pats game with the saints because to me. That's a big test game for bellichik in the post brady era right. A one point loss to the dolphins followed by a win against a rookie quarterback. Now you've got a team that hasn't had a home game was dealing with covert and the coaching staff. That's just type of game that the pats over the last twenty years. Make sure to win. Come hell or high water right but now they got the rookie quarterback themselves. Do they win. That's a big game. It huge game max. I agree with you. It is a great show at two o'clock on. Espn that you have there. Here's another thing i would add onto that. Y is it even more so a big game all the things you mentioned and how about this. The week after that. Tom brady is coming to town with the tampa bay buccaneers. I don't think you want to be one and two as you enter that game. So i think that adds to your thought as to why this is a sneaky big game for the patriot out of my notes on this. Just this just in the agenda today took it right off the notes. Excellent my my. I'm curious of you're redoing the draft. We have people saying that you know some people said they would take mack. Jones first draft of where. Where do you think we are. Redoing the draft today the way mack jones has played. Where do you think he ends up. What spot you know. What jay i think it would still be the patriots and i actually think this is such a fascinating topic to me because it ties to brady back in when he came out in two thousand. I just think it's a perfect match between mac and the patriots offensive system. I'm not sure if matt goes to. Let's say the jets number two that we would see the same mac that we've seen the last two weeks the way the patriots play on offense where setting protection at you. Know the line of scrimmage it's empty formations. it's puts a lot on the quarterback from processing and mental standpoint. I mac is just so perfectly suited for this offense and i. I'm not sure he would be a perfect fit for other offenses. That don't do the same thing. So fifteen where. The patriots were sitting. I truly believe this. Jake if we were to do it again i think he'd probably be the same spot the same pick if we had a redraft. My we've said at home you've covered. You've tom brady for however many twenty years or whatever it was when he was in new england but we sit at home. You me everybody else and we see the same story the same move up. Well damn okay. They just left him a minute left on the clock here. He's going to let me know when they kicked the field. Goal scored a touchdown. Because i'm going outside to have a cigarette right now when you look at he right now at forty four years old doing sort of stuff that he's doing could it be that he really is. The favourite is the mvp right. Now how could he not be. I mean and i look at him and i watched the first two games and i said to myself if you told me he was twenty four or even thirty four i would say yeah. That looks like he might even be better. Then he was at those ages and i think that's what to me is so remarkable about him is is he just keeps fighting back. Father time. I think the rules help him a little bit in terms of how they protect the quarterbacks but that being said that's not at all diminish the i know how much work he puts in from having been around for two decades here in new england key to me. That's a top choice right now for. Mvp let me ask you this. Mike before i let you go did did the new england patriots in new england misjudge where brady was at in his career at that moment that they made some decisions to part ways. I think you could make the case..

"Gatorade knows there are many paths to greatness. How you get there is up to you. Sometimes you got to grind it out to get up early and put the work even when you're not failing a hundred sometimes. It takes thank focused on a goal knowing where you wanna be and you'll have to pour everything into get their other times. You just need to dig deep. Show some guts to be brave and never let anything stand in the way of what you want to accomplish. Then there are the days you have to get in the gym and see some gains to put an all the reps and get stronger each day. But whatever path you take to greatness. Gatorade is there to help fuel. The journey because greatness starts with g. me back to the middle bay is my childhood. Can't wait time tomorrow right here. I take us given a what else can folks expect. Can expect him t-ball on fridays again. Expect michael irvin on mondays. They can expect to see. Marc spears and obviously ryan clock and keyshawn johnson. And kimberly more and dan olaf ski. And jeff saturday and tedy bruschi and all the whole crew regular crew of contributors that we have but they can also expect to see new faces as well because there's a lot of people in the world of sports and then the world entertainment were trying to get at me for years where it up down like michael stray earlier at me. Well the list is long. But i'm here. And i intend to be lord willing so let's get it on anybody that wants to be in that chair that produces at. I take their numbers are not hard to find. Damn sure ain't hard to find. So that's what. I'm opening it up to the world and by the way that includes some fans out there as well. I'm keeping an eye on fence. I don't want any idiot. Knowledgeable i want. I want knowledgeable fans who know how to be classy in-depth by the way i'm particularly because you can't. You can't just dress any owais in look in. Galway show up on national television. I got to see the look or hand. Swipe less kimberly martin. Here is set a standard been setting a standard. For years now damien. Woody is not wearing a tie. Mockus being not win. Is the dress code. Y'all it's wait in line at the club like okay you come in. That's stephen wright. Plenty more still to come here. Guys get your popcorn ready for the stephen a. Interview with travis. Kelsey the titans. As patrick mahomes is not the most exciting player in the league. What he has some explaining to do stay tuned for that. Can't wait to see travis in stevens sitting down together. Quick dates guys. Ready to kimberly two thousand by low and not being named a dolphins captain something for nothing molly at something because think about it. Here's an opportunity for his teammates coaches to say we trust you. We believe in you. You're the guy. And what's the one thing. The dolphins had not done since last year. This off season is come out and commit to to a you. Are the guy so this to me is a little troubling i. I'm worried about two this year. We've heard rumors watson. wilson was named staunch. They should treat what sharon watts manship stephen. A thirty or cardinals coach. Cook kingsbury says he's unfazed by outside fresher to make the playoffs that he'd be feeling the heat should be feeling the heat. Because i mean how many dobbs. You watt san francisco seattle and l. a. Make the playoffs. But you coming up short. Let's face to face reality. We love column murphy. And what we've seen from him but a lot of it is based basically his lettuce athletic prowess and his playmaking ability as opposed to kings birds. Play calling we got kifah. He's the right man from jeff. Hi kimberly a hoodie edge. To this week one matchup washington's defensive line for justin herber. I you know what ma. I spent time with chasing off season. So i'm gonna say washington d. line this week is going to get the better of just in herbert but just in herbert. He's nice. charges are better west. That's d. lineman both sides. Let's say in la here. Matthew stafford is china winning. First playoff game and justin. Herbert is looking to build off his rookie year. Campaigns chargers star as you can see here receiver in an allen. Said that about her. I don't think he has a ceiling really. I think this is a really good question. And i'm not in this day. And because i'm asking it but la quarterback. Would you rather have the season to me. This one was easy. it's just an herbert. Because when you think about matt stafford. What's the narrative around stafford. Finally has the pieces. You finally has the defense. The offense the coach the organization vc. Guess what justin. Herbert he is that piece. When you think about the chargers and how this is a team more people should be talking about because it is that legit. We've talked about his offense rookie of the year campaign. He won that by a wide margin. Forty one to nine. That's how that's how wider margin he had because of that breakout season and to me. It's the the upside like quarterbacks when you some games in the regular season of course great quarterbacks potentially great quarterbacks when the game it's late fourth quarter two minutes on the clock in your life him down like what can get in the huddle you look in your quarterback and you see just her like okay. We're good and matt stafford's career trajectory facing a super bowl or bus season tells me that you can't trust the numbers. You can't trust that he will definitely take you to the super bowl. I have more faith than just in her. You sil- you won't but i mode sister. Linda law lady abigail calm in my sisters. They love themselves. From kimberly ma and watching the they've been reading at work in new york newsday years no less the or she blessed us with her presence on national television. So i have to monitor my own. He's gonna bring you go beat beneath audit okay. Let me be very clear kimberly wrong. Oh first of all just in. Herbert just guy. He a baby in playoffs last year. Breath but wet behind this. But i'm right this particular moment in time right now. Herbert muhammad breath melton like semi lack. Okay i got mad love and faith in him for the future but for this she hears about matthew stafford. And it's about those los angeles rams and when you talk about who you'd rather have i would remind you. Although to record is seventy four ninety one as a starting quarterback in the nfl over twelve seasons would put more bond for pets. Perpetually more von detroit lions. don't blame your staff for that. I will remind you. Let me read a couple numbers to you. Got seventy four wins in his twelfth season. How many of them were credited to game. Winning drive led by stafford molly. Thirty eight thirty eight. That's a fifty. One percent clip brother is known as a clutch playing quarterback fresh off four thousand passes yard seasons twenty six thousand one ten inception but the point is he was playing detroit. We're not think about him. With the show jackson. When i think about him with kupa coughing robin woods and the crew. We're not thinking about the plate in the. Sean mcveigh when i think about not being stained and contaminated but franchise in the motor city. Then guess what. I got a different flavor. I got a different field for matthew steph. Not trying to act. Like you. Don't have anything to prove if i got a if i got a crew and i got one of the top defenses and lead lead by amer donald on the front line and jalen ramsey back in the secondary. Okay if i got that going on with super bowl. Expectations i.

"What what scares me is like. I've gone against brady a lot. Right and the hardest personnel grouping that i ever had to defend was his jumbo package. People are underestimating. The fact that oj juice man is back so they have oj power. They get some three versatile tight right. So you match up against that. If they if they put three tight ends out there. I gotta go with a bunch of db's guess what they break the formation and they bludgeoned me to death. Because i got to sixty block it. One eighty five two hundred and if i leave linebackers out that break formation they isolate. My safety is back. It's about to be a problem. Tom brady has every personnel group. He has his two and three of everything. So louis riddick. I'm listening to this and we're talking about a defense. That was that was magnificent last year. Good enough to win a super bowl an offense that was really good and should be markedly better in the continuity and he knows what how to walk into and all that kind of stuff. Now the one thing. Tom brady has never done in his career and he came as close as just about anybody ever has is the perfect season what they keep me from saying. They could win every game. They play this year. There's nothing to keep you from saying that because it seems like the table is set for them to make a run at the only thing. That's keeping you from saying that as president is history. But we're no team has ever done it. You know has never won. Sixteen games in a regular season. Let alone now. You're asking team to win. Seventeen games in an unprecedented regular season. Where they're going to be dealing with so many different challenges. Least of which is attrition. How many guys are they going to be able to keep healthy all year long during the course of a normal football season where guys get hurt too. You're dealing with kobe. Tom brady's alluded to fact that this could be even more challenging the season then it was a year ago as far as keeping everybody healthy in three is really is the mindset not just a tampa bay but every team that goes against them in. Both barton would alluded to this earlier. You're having every team going. Look i'll be damned if they're gonna go seventeen in on our watch when they're playing we're going to give them their best shot and then for them. There's always the complacency factor that you're always going to have to deal with no matter. How good you are. They've been to the mountaintop. Do they ever cruise at some point in time. Do they ever take their foot off the gas or to slip a little bit mentally where they lose a game because there's a busted coverage protection a drop ball. There's so many things that have to go right for them every single week. I'm thinking back to the oh seven patriots and there was a stretch where they just blew everybody out and they went and tedy bruschi and tom brady went to bill. Don't take us out. We want to go for this. I would bet if they get in that position. Brady would do it again. But as that season went on they did not seem as dominant as they were earlier in the year and it seemed to get harder and harder each week and that was i. Don't think they win the super bowl the year before the patriot and they did not. Because that's when they went out and got randy moss in west welker and all these moves so this would be a monumental challenging issue right. Never put a single thing. Pass tom brady never doubt that he can do anything. But this would be almost as usual as making it until the age of forty four years old and starting your three hundred regular season game. The only quarterback to beat that team was eli manning. He's going to join us. Live in about twenty five minutes. Don't miss that conversation..

"Line. He understands about fall protection. But the new england patriots as an organization does does the best job in the nfl of developing their players. They understand week one to week. Eighteen there better be steady improvement for the young players. And they do as good a job as anybody i've played. Vince wilford his first game of his career. Just been drafted high draft. Pick by. bob law usually defensive lineman. Don't play well. Their first year. Sometimes two by the end of the season he was a completely different player. The dues calling out our formations. He knows about our tendencies helping tedy bruschi behind him on were they should fit all those kinds of conversations that just speaks to the development of players that patriots do. I'm just letting you know they're going to do a good job with mack jones putting him in situations to be successful to agree with all of that but let. Let's just again the all these quarterbacks to one who is going to have the most success for the next few years. This is a class that includes trevor lawrence. Who people talk about like. He's the best prospect since whomever includes justin fields. It was set. The world on fire includes trae lance. Everyone thought what a great fit that is with him. And kyle shanahan in san francisco so with that as the stage. Do you agree that mack jones will have the most success over the next few years was there but the more and more i thought about this and i know they might be mad at me for i. Think that wilson. And i'm not saying it because you're here a serious thing about this y'all think about this. Just take a second and think. I talked about how incompetent the new york jets were. Yes and we heard woody johnson. Come out and say. His coach was an offensive genius right. What was right to take the test to detect. That was a lot and then you look at the way. This organization is building. and i. i've i've had this discussion with myself. I talked to myself. About what keys. Are you picking up to show that a franchise is fully committed to their quarterback. You took macabre becton. Who's been on jeff. Saturdays pancake house. Yes you took vera. Tucker you went out and got cory day. This is a competent head coach. Mike leflore has a guy that looks a lot like air. Rogers from a mechanic standpoint from the way he plays with poise. So i know when everybody thinks about the jets right now thinking about the jets of sam darnold and all of that. This is not the same. And i do wanna give joe douglas. Some credit the general manager has been hitting on drafting. he's been really successful so mag jones this year and maybe next year because team building the process and the new england patriots went out and deal what they did in the off season. But when you look at how the jets are trending and the talent level zach. Listen is more talented than mac. Jones and as far as quarterback the situation for mcdonalds is better. But don't be surprised if zach wilson is. Is that guy that we compare with josh allen. As opposed to mcdonald okay. I really can't everything i read. You're planning on doing yes. Go ahead and give him a hug. 'cause you hurt his feelings early now he came that yajah's hug it out man. It's time for the mini. He said i knew this whole thing was going and hug it out. Jeff i out you saw in you'll feel is right now. Go ahead kid got what just happened. Get your words out. What just happened constitutes the best thing that has happened to the jets in the last ten. I mean you realize you're making that projection is literally better than anything that has happened to them in the last ten years. I'm at a loss. I've never been this surprise. I can i just saturday short question fellows seriously though. I don't think that's four fitch. Is it really pay attention to what they've been doing from a roster construction standpoint. Is it farfetched. No or definitely not can listen. I think i will. I will say this we could he be. Do i think fields and lance if both those guys did on the field and the systems and can pick them up. They their their trajectory will be much faster on the upswing. Then wilson because the offense shanahan runs if lance can figure that out man that's going to be off the charts and fields for me. You just don't know who is coach is going to be so. It's hard for me to talk about that yet. Okay fair enough. I like all of it and and listen in my ear telling me to go to that. I'm not going anything. I'm just enjoying the heck out of this board. The i don't even understand what you're telling me. Super teams.

"And said if. I'm not the quarterback. Then maybe i shouldn't be new orleans. I think that's his real issue right. So sean you know abusing to say let's put winston in the starter and we'll use tastes them hell role that we're used to seeing well. I don't think tastes them and wants to bite on that role anymore. Here's what i think. Forty million that's he wants forty million dollars. That's why right. I mean forty million to. I don't mean it we're gonna get it. Everybody wants to be in the forty nine club. Here's what happens. In new orleans watched the mostly tonight when the orleans loves to do is they loved the motion guy and set them so when they motion them through a set them. Then that's when the offense goes into play and whoever can handle that. At the line of scrimmage brees was brilliant of this they get into the right play. And i think that this is what you're gonna see who wins. The job is the guy that does that the best. I think it'll be tastes hill. Because they taste somehow will protect the football. Plus it gives sean a chance to have more loose. Plays make explosive. Plays michael thomas in there. Yeah callaway might be a good player. You know maybe smith. It's come back from his injury. But i think they're going to need to find a manufacturer points through a big klay option at quarterback and it might be tasting hill. Fifty one thousand. Plus there. And i got a chance to call some legendary matches in obviously too big returns next to the greatest of all time and gentlemen a man who wants covered. David koresh in baylor area down waco texas. He was also a part of a war is been on. Presidential campaigns is a big j. Journalists covered a fire. "Dot com l. g. We're talking college. Football pac twelve going to start in the south work our way up to the north again bottom to top bottom. Swish sean lakes. Way we like to pick arizona. Arizona wildcats isn't it Two and a half on the wind. Total minus one twenty five on the over plus one of five on the under forty two one to win the division eighty to one to win the comforts. Somehow they have a a bet on them to win the college football playoff five hundred a one which by the way vanderbilt was a thousand the one. Let's just here's what we got going with. Arizona minus fourteen on the turnover differential. They've lost twelve in a row. If i'm looking at this straight not a Not a very good time in arizona. Kobe breaks down arizona. Do they have a chance to hit three threes. A pretty low number. Yeah i liked. They're they're over here I think jed fish coming in interesting higher thing. No one was high on that higher on a good thing. But i think by don brown to come in from michigan i do believe on ground dot brown was a really good defensive coordinator. He hired chuck cease. Will someone familiar with the arizona program. You've gone back to their uniforms from. The desert swarm days when they were a top ten team and they brought in a lotta. They've they've really soaked up a lot of that culture. Can i say i love. I love everything. He's doing for all the same things you're saying right. He's he's leaning into like changing everything because they've been horrible as it's going to take some time and i wanna i wanna crowbar this let you get back to it. Because i'm a little worried at the priority. He's putting on improving the fan section. Saw quote out there my plan for the the zona zoo is do everything. Humanly allowed to do to make it the greatest experience for our students. Now he did go out and hire rob gronkowski. That's probably a positive. You're looking for a good party crying. Don't know if that's a good way to to win games right away this year. And the last thing i'll say is teddy bruschi all-time piece of shit in my book brought him back to the program. That's a big red flag. Awesome pizzas odds on. Never forget him in junior. Ceo hugging on the sideline right before eli drove down the field and tore their fucking hearts out. He's co bruschi. he's a dog I just general though we are. We are look like jordan. Mcleod south florida kid. That's an interesting. I think the camps play that outmanned. I think they have a lot of question marks at the quarterback spot but overall. I think this team is better than what we re like. I think we all saw last year to they gave up to arizona state They lost seventy two seven. But if you go back and do your homework fade someone. Linear was great. If you go back and do your homework on that like usc needed a deflected pass caught on fourth down to beat them The colorado game was closer than the score indicated. We had like a pick. Six late I don't think they're as bad as what we think they are. I think the team's got talent. That running backs. A stud the the i think they're just a decent. Yes they're going to be bad but not that bad. And i think they're going to do it. They gotta get some wins early. 'cause they start off three home games now. Granted is byu siegel state but northern arizona. You gotta get that win the got. Ucla at home they have washing it at home. I mean they end pretty tough at at at washington state at arizona state and utah at home. I i don't know. I feel like they gotta win a couple early. Yeah there's a decent shot that go three no. I think there's a decent shop. Byu lost twelve point dog to byu the most production out of any team in the nation. Yes do they reload better because everyone's twenty eight years old at ub y you shore. But no but i mean even if they go to and one probably a little bit more realistic because byu's coming in such a heavy favourite but you can get to two and lawn. Does their zona team can squeeze out one more win that cow game. Maybe i mean it is a tough schedule. Maybe the one in poelman schedule. i mean. we're going to talk about a couple teams. I think i think we're gonna notice. The pac twelve has tough schedules. Maybe the extra conference game. Maybe some of the non conference schedule always aggressive. Atta conference but i it. Just it's it straight up like once you get through those three games that you said maybe they can go three and and get you over the total right there after that. It's really hard to find a win. It's really hard to find. Find a like where. Where are they going to be favored. I don't think they're going to be fair. But i think we can. I think they can win one game elsewhere and potentially win four games or three games. Yeah i just. I'm under a two and a half. I like with this. I like i like the angle that jed fish is going but when no one's excited about a higher and and to your point they might have some talent. I just. I'm not. I'm not i'm certainly not going to bet on it. I don't see where they win a game in the conference. I think they're going to win one game in the conflict crock hears about this. I'm telling them right. Buddy scott hiring gronk tedy bruschi. That's not focusing on winning football games. Yeah well i got a late. You got to put on your casino winning recruiting and and i think yeah you fire on creating the foundation. I that's great. It's not going to win you. Games year one. That's all. yeah. And i guess my my point is you can lay the foundation and still win three games. They brought in a lot of good transfer. Nine that i i. Just don brown's too good of a defensive coach. They're gonna be in some games. They're going to be some games. That you're not thinking gimme arizona on the over colorado kobe your buffs. Four and a half is the win. Total over minus five undermining one fifteen sixteen one to win the division thirty five to one to win the conference two hundred and fifty to one to win it. All a colorado did have minus three and a half on the net close losses fit. My model of second year had.

"I would say in terms of just going from a 4-3 defense and in Oklahoma with his hand, in the dirt to a stand-up outside linebacker, I have noticed a few good reps against some of these backup tackles Korey, Cunningham, yodny cajuste. You know, guys like that have had tough gig jumps. So I think we're all expecting Ronnie Perkins to be sort of, if he's not a red shirt, maybe he plays a little bit in the kicking game. I think it's similar to Anthony Jennings for a PCM, maybe a little bit, any kind of wait and see in your to whether you can bring to the table. But is there anything that you have seen from Ronnie Perkins? That makes you say that he can contribute right away as a rookie or you kind of in my life that maybe we're going to see a slow slow roll here with Ron. Maybe late in the year, maybe late in the year. He comes along, he seems to be, you know, a very engaged learner, right? You mentioned hit him gravitating towards Matthew judon him speaking, with Tedy, Bruschi that kind of thing. So if you can learn quit. Yeah I think they can get them in. I'm very impressed with just how quick he gets off the line of scrimmage his initial burst but he is does seem like more of a project player. That being said, if he's going to contribute this here I think it's going to be on a special teams, get special teams experience in Oklahoma. We've seen him out there, you know, getting some special teams reps so far this summer. So that's maybe where we see him right away. But again, he he does strike me as a guy who who seems like he can pick things up relatively quickly. So, you know, a couple of guys get banged up as as is what happens over the course of the NFL season, maybe get to November and he gets his chance and he runs with it, so I am not expecting him, you know, in the first month or two, but he, he's not, I'm not totally writing him off this year either. Yeah, he's got some nice block, recognition, two and two against the Run working against the scout-team offense. You've seen those mome Is where he recognizes the polar or he sees that outside step further outside zone or he's just able to kind of anticipate those types of blocking schemes a little bit. He's very instinctive player and we song Oklahoma and that's why he was around the ball so much for the Oklahoma defense as he's got great instincts. And the guy, you know, this kind of gravity towards the football which I really like to see out of a player at that position. I do think that standing up on your feet and being on your feet and playing a little bit more in space and playing a little bit further. Outside the formation. That is a big transition for a lot of guys now, Chase winovich was able to do it almost instantaneously his rookie season and he was able to go from a 4-3 and in Michigan system to a 3-4 outside linebacker in the Patriot system pretty easily off. The only thing. I like about Ronnie Perkins is that he's going to play 3-4 outside linebacker at 2:55. Maybe I would guess is probably where they would like him to play at..

"Yeah, I think guys who come in and and truly Embrace dead, The Patriot Way, I know that sounds cheesy but guys do do that tend to work out more so than the guys who don't and he tweeted a picture himself talking to Teddy. Bruschi some of the caption was something about I'm standing on the shoulders of giants or something. It wasn't just you know, posting to social media for cloud. He was standing on the field talking to Teddy Bruschi for 5-10 minutes. You could see them working through like technique or that that stands out to me, if he's going to take something from Tedy Bruschi and add it to his toolbox, that's noteworthy that it will see if he can actually do it and make it work on the field. But he now has that he now has that natural box that stands out to me. So if you're somebody who's, you know, in Oklahoma fan, whatever you're rooting for Ronnie Perkins, to make the team, that's a moment you can point to and say, you know, he's doing what he needs to do and I feel like I've used that phrase on this last week so you know he's doing what he needs to do. Yeah, the joint practices in the preseason games, decide I'm a broken record, the The Joint practices and the preseason games, decide. A lot of this song, These practices here in bills talked about this, these practices are almost prepped for that. They're getting you prepared for the joint practices. They're getting you prepared for the preseason. So I don't know you know head-to-head in a position battle, how much ground a guy, how much ground a guy can gain in this setting but what he can do is Build That Base and build that foundation. So he can gain ground when it matters once you get to those joint practices. So I get Ronnie Perkins, both the tweet and everything he's done on the field, I don't know that he shot himself up the depth chart but he's done everything. He needs to do to put himself in a position to move, himself up to do once you get into those joint practices. So that's where I look around and Perkins right now. He's a guy that's building a strong Foundation. That's what you want the rookies to do. And to me, he's, he's done that to this point. Yeah. I agree with all that. And the other thing that I wanted to mention before we sign off, here is Johnny Smith who I just thought had a, a really great practice today. Doing everything that has advertised with Johnny Smith right off. Talking catching the ball, catching the ball, and all three levels of the defense, moving around the formation. And I mentioned that inside six drill, which is basically just the Bible offensive line and plus the fact and against six guys on the defense front, right? So it's basically like an inverse of seven on seven and in that drill, you get really competitive hard. Life is Run game actions and Johnny Smith on. One of the first reps of the practice, actually, a competitive reps. He took Joshua J, and he just threw him right out. That's what I tweeted, right? He walked him right into the parking lot. It was just textbook feet and hands pad level down and just get him and go and it was just such a good rep by John. It also opened up a tractor-trailer sized hole on the left side for for Damien, Harris to run through, but it was such a good rep. That even Joshua J was clapping his hands off..

"I respect that from weaver but i think without question jalen green is the guy you want in the draft and i like what you say about jalen suggs in. One of the mock drafts. Maybe mock draft five point. Oh we do them. Throughout the year. I compared him to jrue holiday. I said as upside is enormous by the way rix balked while you do love them at fox sports. We run the gamut. We got our twenty twenty two mock draft tomorrow on the website. Yes that's true the thing it'll do bigger numbers than any nba story this month. Because that's how. The internet works staying with hoops. Tonight's nba draft is featured on the free to play fox bet super six app. Scan the qr code below. Download the app an answer. Six questions about the draft for your shot to win a thousand dollars brick win a thousand dollars coming up next. Tom brady just one eight seven. Three what someone thinks. He can't carry a team right now. We'll say if we agree next on yourself next thursday on fox. The nfl is back. Catch big ben and the steelers as they battled veep and the cowboys in the hall of fame game. All the action is on fox and the fox sports. Let's get to the chance. Tom brady won his seventh super bowl title a few months ago. But he's still has some doubters out there. The athletic old coaches and evaluators and they have great as a tier one to be. What an anonymous offensive coordinator says brady is here to adding. I just don't think he can carry a team so lavar. What's your reaction to this. Oh see anonymous. Oc saying the. Tom brady can't carry t- duh. These never carried a team. Like let's let's be real here. It's like who put this thing together on the glue. Someone said like that's tom brady. He's the glue. He's never had to carry the team. Run off a few names for you just so you can understand when tom brady started his first year and they won that super bowl they had a guy by the name of tedy bruschi hearts heartbeat heart and soul of that team. And another guy on that team's name was willie. Mcginest heard his name before there was another guy out there on on that defensive side of the ball he was covered guy. What was his name. Oh yeah ty law then you had another guy in the back into that defense lawyer milloy. That's his first super bowl. Renting beat the greatest show on turf you know when they went into houston and all that good stuff. Let me tell you something. Tom brady has always embraced the team. Factor of what. He has represented. He's never been a guy that was going to cherry the team on his back to win a super bowl and he never will be but what he does is. He raises the standard of expectation. We talked about culture. Is the reason why a team have success or not have success heaven that that ability to be able to influence and inspire and had guys aspire to be more than what they thought they could ever be. He learned that early on in his career. He learned it from the coach. He learned it from the owner and he learned from a host of amazing football players. That were on that team. Don't take away to respect factor. What those guys were to the new england patriots way because there were guys that were a part of the new england patriot way before tom brady became a part of it so for gm to anonymously. Put it out there. That tom brady is not at a point in his career where he can carry a team to the super bowl. He never was that guy to begin with. So why even put that out there. You make yourself sound kind of foolish anonymous. I'd even take it a step further. I don't think any quarterback can carry a team to the super bowl and win. We've seen quarterbacks dragged teams deep in the playoffs cam. Newton had a number one defense with the carolina panthers. But you look at that offense folks it was. It was the cam newton show. They didn't win the super bowl. Dan marino got a good but not great dolphin team to the super bowl young in his career. They didn't win like john. Elway took some mediocre to really good broncos team to the subaru rule could not win until they get terrell davis who becomes the super bowl. Like it's just not a real thing. Carry a team can put over the top. Whoa clearly jameis. Winston interceptions and was a turnover machine in tampa. They had a great team around him out with janus in with brady super bowl win. Like tom brady can gift you over the top. And i think that's what aaron rodgers also believes. I can bring him guys. We could put my team over the top deshaun watson dragging some pretty bad texans teams deep into the playoffs but no one quarterback can take a team and win the super bowl. There's twenty two starters. They're special teams. Coaching matters significantly. This ain't the nba folks. This story hits me a lot. Like j mac putting jalen green the number one pick mock draft is. What's the big deal. The athletic is making this out. Like how dare someone say this about tom. Brady and you guys have made excellent points about. You wouldn't say this about anybody say especially now when it comes to the tampa bay buccaneers. Yes he left new england and yes he won another super bowl ring without bill belichick but was he a pro bowler. No there was only one pro bowl or on the tampa bay buccaneers. And that was jason pierre. Paul and if i was going to go to other pro bowlers. Tom brady wouldn't be my first. Pick levada david devon white and ronald jones. Carlton davis shaq barrett. Like there are a number of other guys and that was the thing is that it was a collection of guys who ultimately got past the league. Mvp and aaron rodgers. it wasn't because tom brady outduelled. Aaron rodgers in that gain ultimately it was because tampa tampa bay had a better collective team and part of that is because tom brady being that glue guy was able to bring in or recruit guys like rob gronkowski antonio brown to.

"And the roof deck with the pool. Everybody else is below in the afc teams in seattle. there's a tampa bay buccaneers. There's the ram okay. There's the san francisco forty nine. There's a new orleans saints. They're all getting better now. Let's switch today. Buffalo's not going anywhere. I believe strongly indianapolis will be a better football team with a new brain in carson wins. I don't know that tennessee is going anywhere. Oh by the way. The flavor of the month is the cleveland browns for a lot of people. They certainly continue to get better. I could go on and on a why. Oh by the way. There's a guy in la in the same division name. Herber quarterback market pretty damn good pretty good if they stay healthy. What does that do in terms of challenging the kansas city chiefs within the division. Oh might have mentioned because we can't forget to mention guy who just played golf name air. Rogers that could potentially wind up in denver. Does that make denver broncos a better football team. You damn skippy. It does now. What does that do to kansas city. It patrick mahomes so when you start to look at all these sorts of things to catch tom brady. It'd be compared to him or lebron. James one basketball changes everything for an organization. One player football. Know you point the tom brady. Tom talk no. He landed into the perfect situation. This was not young. Tom brady taking over team in building. That team was already built. He brought enthusiasm and wisdom to an organization and win the super bowl. I don't know that. Patrick mahomes is going to catch tom. Brady in lebron james and michael jordan. It's hard as hell to win a playoff game in the nfl. Let alone number super bowl stop you. Need to be special. His special c. span's v magnet. Here's a magnet is talent. You know what you need when you named all those teams that are disposed contenders for his greatness over whatever it is going to be the next ten fifteen years of his career. What's the one missing element him. It's patrick mahomes. That's what makes you can't j. All is a total team game. You've gotta have the guy a whole coaching staff. That know what the hell they doing. Right argument diminishes the fact that tom brady and the patriots had to overcome some great teams as well. Did they not know minding the patriots success. Hey head hello. Players will mcginnis tedy bruschi. Lawyer malloy tied low dea branch corey dillon. I mean i can go on. And on how i said it's on the french it's on the chiefs and make sure this is a compound and everything else you've got a guy saying lies on the organization to be successful. Do you know how hard it is to win. One playoff game as much as we love. Patrick mahomes in how great he is. He may never ever win another championship man. And they may win the division every single damn. You would not hockey this. This is not a hot take with another rear but the chances you might win more he made it all. Depends on how they keep that team around and bill. That's hitting around but it can happen with the war jim. Kelly is in the hall of fame three of four players. Anything i read hall of fame. Bruce smith hall of fame dermot thomas hall of fame. Jim kelly all the flame. None of them have super bowl rings and they went to four street because one win is hale house. Y'all act like ross nice here. The opening act like super bowl trophies. Like damn eminem you cut it open to the whole you know. 'cause that's now you're trying to put on me as if i'm trying to say it's easy would your turn and say is patrick homes. Isn't that special. he's everybody else. What happens raitis. You had drew brees. Who had rogers lonzo especially that. Do just play goal. Most talented quarterback we've probably ever seen the franchise the franchise manch is they to nfc championship game. They got a ton of talent. Don't don't fall for the narrative they don't have any players that's not true case they have to go to green bay when you head all pointed out pointed out. Isn't that in your argument. You tried to say patrick. Mahomes is journey to being. As great as tom brady might be more difficult and less likely because there's more contenders in the way i wanted to ask. Was the journey for tom. Brady's all of his super bowl wins that he not he and the patriots and the bucks not have to overcome great teams as well they had to overcome could team. He's about the afc east. They won every year. How many years of. Afc division was down so it was already set up to have home advantage. A lot of the times or have a by but look at doesn't diminish anything is just fat. The era of quarterback that he played in. Think about the i mentioned drew tabriz ben roethlisberger. You manning the guys that one you know multiples but the amount of greg cote aaron rodgers brett form the great quarterbacks that he had in the league at the time is that like they won't every year but they wanna to life felt like they want every. Like this not great quarterbacks. Now seriously you're russell. Wilson isn't good. Everybody is properly matthew stafford up with a new team. We'll send la josh. Allen just was an mvp titan quarterback guy of baltimore just one again. You're putting everybody in the same bucket. I'm not doing that. What patrick mahomes talent. All right guys. i'm just saying just to put a button on this coming back here. Four call a bunch of passes from quarterback on this going back to the original question. Here is too early to compare mahomes and brady. I personally think the conversation is gimmicky. I think it's premature. I think it's premature. I think it is low key insulting to tom. Brady what he's accomplished. And i think it's limiting to what mahomes can be and so over the course of time. "Just making sure. I didn't feel that way about them right. Because you gotta you gotta feel that way about the number one in that o seven super bowl. I'll never forget after. The giants scored randy moss. Speaking down the sideline and brady took a shot at him. That i felt like that game wasn't over until i thank god that didn't work as a giants fan because you might have gone undefeated and won the whole thing. Second thing is that they have cleveland. We one that's a tough game like we're talking about twenty and they might be one after week one like that's why twenty it would be so amazing especially the first year seventeen games in the regular season. But i wanna talk about something that we haven't touched on yet guys. Brady is the goat. And the only mahomes has played three seasons three full seasons as a starter and he's been stopped in the playoffs twice once in the afc championship game where pre-snap penalty on a brady interception. Stop that game for being over. Mahomes his favor right. Homes want threw an interception last game. A hold on wait. a minute. pre snapped penalty. Brady gets the ball back and mahomes never touch the ball again. That's one postseason lost. The next one was in the super bowl to tom. Brady on another team. Not the patriots. This time it's the bus. Tom brady has stopped. This young guy twice and why that's significant is because brady is great as he is when your eyes were on him he never gave you. This is the best football player i've ever seen. He did it over time doing it again. And again and again in the clutch but mahomes like rogers gives you that. Oh my god either. Like like dan marino. I've never seen any. This is the greatest guy ever and if you were to go twenty guys and meet the bucks in the super bowl again and this time avenged the loss to brady. Because there's a good chance that would happen to if he went twenty. you know. This is all crazy speculation. But guess what guys mahomes right back in the conversation because he have avenged the postseason loss to brady perfect season. He has the foundation to build upon to one day be considered the goat even though he's lost the brady twice in the playoffs. Hey teddy we only have a minute left. Can i ask you a question here. Really quick i want to change the subject. Because it's been on my mind. I was thinking of remember when brady came out and said he would trade one of his rings to have that perfect season have won the super bowl. Would you do that as well. Treat one he said trade to. I'll give you one. He's got a couple on you. Yeah you got six but molly. It's the one that i just don't forget you know it's pays that i remember during that game and to have that one it like. I said it trump's them all trade one of the others. Gosh great teams but yeah. That's that's the one that you want and knowing that you were there you were there. I mean they're right. They're certain places that you think of all the time. That's the one you wish you had with. No fees or minimums on checking and savings accounts banking with capital. Is naomi osaka withdrawing from the french open on monday and announcing that she will take some time away from tennis after controversy over media obligations. Tedy bruschi back here with us and teddy. Some people are arguing that these media rules are antiquated with social media in all the stuff now anyway do think athletes should be required to speak to the media after games matches etc or the press conferences. Well i do believe speaking to the media is part of being a professional athlete. I don't know why it should be mandatory. I think the athletes should be given choices because of the way a lot of times. The media is viewed within locker rooms. I myself personally. Felt when i was playing with the patriots. You get done with a game and the game's not over yet because it fits a loss in you're going in there. Here comes some more opponents that are that are trying to get you in terms of its just how athletes keep themselves on guard like trying to get me to say something that they will use in a in a unflattering light if you will so that type of philosophy is something that i always looked at in always. It was hard for me to develop trust which i did with a lot of members of the boston media but it can be very difficult. I understand what he's talking about now in today especially after last year with the pandemic i think that the option one of these to be athletes having if there's any type of anxiety towards it the zoom press conference where the athlete has control right in front of a computer being able to be in a more relaxed state because i absolutely think that there are times where journalists try to challenge you during press conferences in that can put an athlete on edge and all of a sudden. There's an uncomfortable situation and it's out there and you can't take it back now. Do i believe it's part of being an athlete. Absolutely but in today's age the individual feelings of an athlete has to be considered more than before and they need to be given options. I think athletes should be required to speak to the media and you have to take that with a grain of salt. Because i'm a member of the media and so i have an incentive to say that that doesn't mean consciously. I'm telling you something. I don't believe you will find that people usually like incentives shape their behavior and their opinions and people can point to social media nowadays and say well like there are other outlets. But i think it's good to have a more centralized clearinghouse for the news especially in niche sport like tennis where casuals can go and be made aware of what's going on. That's good for the sport. Because i know people might be thinking about the sport is the thing right. The media is just kind of the window dressing but we sell. We understand the world storytelling. That's the reason there is the money. There isn't professional. Sports is not simply because they're playing on the highest level. It's because people know the characters they know it's stay for the characters. They know the struggles. They know how great the obstacles are. The characters to overcome their antagonists. That whole thing. The media is important for that. And i think leagues and tours recognize that now in terms of meiomi asaka who i think did absolutely the right thing by saying okay. These are my obligations right now. I can't do this right now. I gotta look out for my own mental health. We talked a lot in the first segment of the show. The first hour about this and mental health issues are very important because they've been stigmatized that a lot of has resulted that people won't get help and also as an example. Everyone admires is. It's great that she didn't just say well. I'm just withdrawing kept it to herself. She said why but also sometimes injuries physical injuries are hard to self diagnose. Am i feeling pain or pain. And i can deal with this or am i. In fact injured. And i shouldn't be playing right but mental anxiety take for anxiety for instance that's even hired as harder to self diagnose because everyone feels anxiety especially before something that requires very high performance in a competitive situation. There's a difference between just feeling pain in an injury. There's a difference between just feeling anxiety and dealing with anxiety disorder. And i think that's also important for people to understand and nio me. Has i think brought attention to this..

"Today is april twenty seven twenty twenty one. Look at it right. Check it out This is the annual podcast at this point. Yeah i think so. I'm actually pulling it up now to see one. The last time we posted one was. I isn't it had to be a month before my birthday. He has before my birthday. My birthday was march sixteenth. House lost punk ass real. We've had a busy month with been very big been crazy. I'm was want football season to come back because everybody knows to leave me alone. Yes i want football season to come back. Because it's what gives me life. I now telling you well. We've got a lot to talk about here mainly because we've got a month's worth of stuff built up we're not gonna cover everything of course We have been going through our notes. And i spent a good half hour trying to organize my notes and i was like. Let's just win so we're gonna miss a lot of stuff but we're gonna try to get to all the quality show for you here today. Bring it all right. Would you got to talk about molly. There's a lot going on. We've got the draft coming up thursday. I think we should save that for the last five minutes because of course we don't watch college football so no nothing about the draft so don't particularly care about it but it's football so here we are so i say we save that for last and just kinda go through assem news. I wanna start off on a depressing note the i know Gino hayes who was former linebacker for the buccaneers died of liver disease was tough now. He was thirty to thirty thirty three. Three i a. He was a member of the buccaneers. When i first became a fan. I think we drafted him in two thousand eight or he came to us in two thousand eight so He was kind of on that inaugural team and I it is said. Hate to hear it man tough stuff. was rob gronkowski and tedy bruschi were honorary head coaches for the university of arizona. Spring game before the game gronk set a world record by catching the highest altitude football. It was it was actually kind of cool but kind of silly at the same time. That helicopter was six hundred. You see it now. They had a helicopter of six hundred feet above the stadium and they dropped a football from the helicopter. That landed in. The stadium was quite impressive but it took him three tries to catch it but a third only had three football i think on the third attempt he caught it. But it set a world record so there you go. That's gronk for him. And i know he's always doing that kind of athletic stuff like the wwe staff that he did. I mean he's done all kinds of crap. Just it is amazing to me. How large segment of the nfl population that. Just love wwe. Well i think it's just the sports world. I think they recognize that how much those guys put into the wrestling world fake. But there's i've seen a lot of injuries. A wrestling world minnows. Those guys stewart some serious tough stuff so well and look at their physiques. I mean they've got be putting an hour at the gym every day and probably consume tw- ten thousand calories a day and i don't know how it is now but i know back in the day. Those guys didn't get paid crap you know. They're not getting paid like professional. Athletes get paid. I mean i think some of the bigger superstars might have you know like the The rock and stuff like that but you know they. They're they're very. They have to do a lot of work. they do. A lot of touring they do shows. You know back to back. I think athletes respect them. Plus it's fun because it's like theater. It's like sports theater drama. it's Well it's like the nfl where they you know. They put in years of doing it for free. You know through high school and college and just to make it chance at the nfl draft. There's very few that. Make it to that top tier get their contract and all that so. Yeah because you've got. I mean there's wrestling leagues all over the country. New guys do this stuff. The probably guys that pay money to get to be able to go in and raise throw each other around here. They practice the stuff in their backyard off the rooftop k. There it's it's kinda like the the the sports world in the sense that there's a huge swath of unpaid interns basically that the The even know what is the big wrestler. A w w w w w w e than they had the right to show. How out of date i with everything i don't now i don't remember. It was big for a while. And i was like in late. Elementary school early middle school. I grew up watching a andre the giant my dad him in an elevator. Good court. I would not be in an elevator with him now. We didn't talk about roddy piper hulk hogan growing up but Yeah it was. It was kind of a little bit different. Not quite as big. But i'd stayed into it until the late ninety s goldberg. Steve austin and stuff was. It's just fun you know guy. It's guys version of soap operas. Quality is the male version of soap operas. All right are we gonna talk about wrestling all their we hear football. This is now the wrestling. I don't know. I think also like people are looking for stuff to all season so. Ww letters play. That's what i'm saying. The football fans. He said there's a lot overlap as only the time i get stuff done. There's no point we've been so productive the past few months every six the super bowl. Well everything that we wanted to do. During the season we'd put off until the end of it. I was just like being in stuff out. Rebecca lahore's now though so y'all gonna get sick of us. I now hopefully. I'm hoping that they'll have open practices. This season. we can go down. There are daughter found Winter the dolphin discovered and she has apparently at the Well according to the dolphin tale movie that we watched would have made a two thousand eleven. She was in clearwater. So i'm like. Oh my gosh week ago. See winter the dolphin before dies. And then 'cause in super bowl rallying fifth dolphins is it even still living still another one ethics winner.

"Exactly well you're gonna say about the commentator sleep. I'll save that for my best. Okay this dry. I've might be my favorite Defensive drive in in patriots history. Yeah so you've been teasing. Eugene wilson game. I told you guys this is your eugene welcomes. If the what i told you so the best part is i didn't know it was coming. Wait so you're telling me that the reason you bought a eugene wilson jersey with high law gave was the well. I already had the show for tyler trouble jersey which you are currently wearing. Yes allah measures. I i've been looking for these. These plays for multiple years. Maybe a decade and they don't exist on youtube except for embedded in this two hour. They will just come website. There's no eugene. Wilson highlight package. Because there's no one even knows g wilson it we will. We will make that packet. We're going to buy distinctly. Remember like two huge hits in the snow against indy. But i convinced myself by this point. I was like that must have been next year's a afc conference game. Yeah no no. I confuse those two. Because i thought there was a tedy bruschi. Play in this game and it wasn't. It's in the next one But yeah it's stokely coming over the middle and audibly gasped i happen. It was like he catches. He's the most defenceless receiver you've ever seen. Almost i can shoot as he turns that you know bradstock we tell you it looks like a fucking it. Looks like a public accountant. He looks like a podcast is what he looks and he just gets absolutely demolished this this this but it was like shoulder directly to the the middle of your chest. Yeah no flag no. This is perfect this issue back. Then i mean. I think that now it would have been flagged on the defensive receiver perspective and your immediate flag in today's nfl. That one when a head snaps like that because he got that that whiplash head effect where he hit them the shoulder directly into chess. but stoke we had Dry it was all us through that ball. Let him right into the safety which you've been kind of doing. Yeah he's fall day. Then he's forcing downey's like mustard. He's he's confused. Confused late reads and he's forcing balls and count his head off. So you separate no less than two days later. He's got marvin harrison going down the sidelines. He does one of those like try. Drop in the bucket throws our was reggie wayne andrea and reggie way. Does that little. Like i'm going to catch it. Sees out of the corner of his eye was going on like t rex. Yeah eugene wilson comes it absolutely topples just buckles. That one might have been hired in the first one was like air. Acid hits within three plays as holy shit so for like we have like new listeners. Who haven't seen this game like. Maybe they became patriots fans afterwards. Or something just think of any launching penalty. You've seen in the nfl on defense..

"So for you guys that don't know Max was drafted by the New England Patriots and the 6th round selected number 168 and the 1994 draft. He actually played Seven Seasons with the Patriots from 1994 to the year two-thousand. He played in 14 games as a rookie. I know we just spoke about his rookie year and he saw some action on special teams and Nineteen Ninety Six you started every game for the Patriots defensive tackle and 95 to and 95. These are based off of the notes that I have that I pulled off on. So 99.95. It sounds like in Nineteen Ninety Six you started every game for the Patriots at right offensive tackle, including playoff games. And in nineteen ninety-eight, you played in all 16 games and started 11. So what was it like playing for the New England Patriots again? You already kind of spoke about playing under coach Bill Parcells. And of course at some point we need a hair about Drew Bledsoe because I grew up watching Tom Brady. I know a little bit about Drew Bledsoe, of course who doesn't but let's hear about Bill Parcells you playing for the Patriots in the 90s a little bit about Drew Bledsoe. Well, let me tell you Brittney teams that you grew up watching with Brady and and all the seeing the superbowls and all that that never would have happened if it wasn't for our teams in the nineties Mister Kraft bought the car in 1994. So I always say him and I were rookies together and and then you'll Parcells was hired in ninety-three and then was you know was ninety-three ninety-four ninety-five and ninety-six wage. User for Four Seasons. So I had Parcells for three years Bledsoe came in ninety-three. So him and Parcells came came to the New England the same time and you know the foundation of what you know, what the the all the success that we that that this region just experience for the past twenty years was set up by the teams in the nineties the foundation of of all those teams or whatever, you know, cuz like coach Belichick coach under Parcells coach belichick-coached in New England in ninety-six. "Fuck tolan about who made who bitch. You ain't going to be doing any of that. But you know what lebron james this past season. He wouldn't nba championship at advance. Eight for being a basketball player in playing at the level that he was playing at. Maybe i think that may be motivated. Tom brady more than showing up bill. Bell check to say. See i with the main reason why we won all those championships. Even if he did think that i mean good for him the bullet whatever motivate motivating the play. Well and that that what happens then zeppelin need to do then. Just go forward but to you know really think that. That's the reason that tom brady was the main reason or that. Bill belichick was writing. The coat-tails of tom brady well. I'll tell you what a slap in the face to. The defense was a slap in the face of joppa josh daniel. The offense coordinator was a slap slap in the face to romeo cornell slap in the face to everybody who played on defense with a slap in the face to all of those guys. Sit there like tedy bruschi. All those guys are going to be like. Yeah you know. We really didn't have too much to do with all those championships in the winning that we did. We just wrote the hotel tom brady. And that's the reason why we've got all these championships give and take in that situation. But as i mentioned before. If tom brady who i haven't spoke about what motivates him the players that bill belichick. Ben Roethlisberger is 'clearly a part of the problem'

"Next. Next team president art Rooney. The second said Wednesday that talks have started between the Steelers and Ben Rothlisberger on a contract extension. Big Ben who turns thirty seven in March has one year remaining on his current deal. And let's keep in mind. There's been a lot of drama and Pittsburgh fellas and Tonio Brown apparently wants out lay beyond bells that out the entire season. Not to mention that Big Ben has been going back and forth on retirement these past couple of seasons. Tedy Bruschi still here with us joining us from the Pro Bowl and Orlando I teddy. There you are. We got you got you and all your friends in the background is big and more of a problem or a solution because this franchise feels like a mess right now. Because both he's he's definitely a part of the problem because they no other men in which he's handled things. I mean, again, you know, you you've got numerous players. You've got numerous NFL aficionados that have religiously called out Big Ben for saying things in throwing people under the bubble in the fashion of the quarterbacks. Don't this is not me talking. This is basically reporting what they've said as max is done as many others. If you watch Big Ben you talking about juju Smith Schuster. We should have thrown the ball of him every time you say something like that. You've got to know you've been around Antonio Brown long enough to know, how those kind of things would affect him along with various other things in other positions that he has taken that. We don't have time to get into in the end when it comes down to is that has made him a part of the problem because Big Ben is live by different set of rules. He's a bit flagrant with it. And I don't give a. AM who you are anytime you receive preferential treatment that you are you are playing by different set of rules as everybody else you are going to rub people the wrong way, especially when you consider the individual who abuses, the privilege. That's the bottom line. Having said all of that. When you look at Big, Ben he's also a part of the solution because nobody's perfect everybody makes mistakes. And if you're willing to man up in knowledge that you could have done better in certain respects. I think that would go a long way, I think the thing that the Tonio Browns of the world and others that are incredibly frustrating is not that big been mixed the mistakes, they made is that he doesn't necessarily he isn't necessarily deemed as an individual that learns from apologized showed the pope level of contrition and move forward without making sure not to repeat those mistakes again throughout the years. You've seen a pattern of behavior that has been consistent with him in that he has gotten away with it. If you listened to those NFL players Antonio Brown is one of those NFL player. Here's somebody that has said that. And as a result, you a big band you want to alleviate this situation you speak up. You recognize us where you're at fault. And I think if he did that that would go along way. So he's both a problem and a problem solver in all of this because he's right in the middle of everything as the stock quarterback of the team who obviously has is outspoken, Saddam. Well, we agree and disagree because I think he is part of the problem the solution. But for very different reasons part of the problem because Ben Rothlisberger is like a rich man's Eli manning. He is too good for your team. Just to stink almost no matter. What's going on? Right. You're good. A win some games. Maybe make the usually make the playoffs. So how do you get his successor? There's no succession, I just talked about how you know, unless you're Bill Belichick level. And it's not so easy to find a quarterback when you're not drafting up high. You know, it's more of a crap shoot. They don't have the person there that they feel can take the reins of the team if they're truly grooming. It doesn't seem to me on the other end. Therefore at the moment. He reads a lot of power because when you don't have that. But you do have a talented team. And you have a quarterback who's shown he can still play at a very high level, and we're in an era. That's right teddy in an era where older quarterbacks are clearly protected in ways. They've never been you look the level. Tom Brady is still playing at forty one. Drew Brees at forty then rothlisburger at thirty seven that that they realize, oh, wait a minute as beat up as he's been as much as he talked about retirement. He's still maybe has some years of football left in him. We don't have as backup. So he wields probably too much influence and he seems to at times publicly throw players under teammates under the bus. He's a problem because he's too good to get that next quarterback with the draft pick. He's your solution to the extent that you're good because he's a really good quarterback. And if you ain't got that, you ain't got anything. I'm with both you here because Big Ben has been a problem, and he can be a part of the solution. But this is what's happening here as you're talking about max. The quarterbacks in this league getting older and older and still being able to play past forty. What's happening is a generational gap. A generational gap between the quarterback and all of the younger skilled players and all of the younger players on defense that are ended up being a part of this team and the ability to relate. So they're almost these kids are coming in plan. I mean rothlisburger will have players coming in make sure that have had his poster on the wall or something like that that group as fans, and so how does that quarterback that aging quarterback you mentioned breeze Brady and rothlisburger? How was he able to relate to them and make them feel like still an equal? And as one of his teammates, this is where Ben Rothlisberger has failed has he failed. Also and other aspects where Stephen as talking about what he's calling out teammates where he's got no business when he should have when he's the one making bad plays. Also. Yes, I agree with that. But he needs to learn to start to relate to these younger generation of players because he will continue to get older, and that gap is. Real and you'll see players life Brees. How he still it seems like medicine Brady and breathes? They're old. Okay. How do they still have these close bonds with these young players that come into their teams and their teammates talking about them like they're best? How does that happen? There's something. Character wise that breeze and Brady has right now that Rothlisberger is lacking. I need your help with something here. Because here's what you lost. You talked about him relating to the other players, and I don't disagree with that teddy. The problem is it eight the younger players complaining about him and Tonio Brown is thirty years old. He's been big big Big Ben Rothlisberger his teammate for almost the past decade. And so this is I'm not saying that, you know, the he's thirty seven thirty thirty seven like Big Ben is, but he ain't twenty eight twenty one like did you Smith Schuster? The man is thirty the last six seasons. He's had a minimum of one hundred one receptors a minimum of twelve hundred and eighty seven. Yard. He's produced. Poor Big Ben he's been a primary target for Big, Ben. And yet that's where the problem seems to lie at this particular moment in time. So how do you explain that? And I'll put it up put it simply then because I agree with you there. It's a feeling that I've had with the quarterback that I played with and a lot of the saints and a lot of these older players on these teams that are mentioning they have the overwhelming thought in their mind that my quarterbacks got my back. No matter what that's what I think's not there in Pittsburgh. It seemed like it seems like if something happens the quarterback isn't there to either bail you out off the field the Bill you out on? That's what it is. I don't know if they feel the same way some of these saints and other players that this quarterback. He's got my

Patrick Mahomes of Kansas City Chiefs sets mark with 22 touchdown passes in first 8 career games

"You. So much. It's so interesting because you wanna you wanna look at this chief team because you look at them last year what five and all right? And then the the season that went on from their two thousand thirteen it were nine nine with Alex Smith at quarterback, and they went to and five their last seven games ended up not even winning the division. I don't believe that year that the lost in the wildcard round to Houston when they had used like five quarterbacks during the season. I think two thousand thirteen I think I think it was. But then again, that's where they started out nine. And no my point being more that it's like, yeah. I look into the platform the colts. Maybe the they lost to the colts. They lost to the colts. At you. High forty four big comeback. Unreal Dwayne everybody. And then you go back to Andy Reid and Philadelphia close into deal closing the deal. You know, this guy goes to NFC championship game after NFC championship game one to and they can't run them out of town fast enough. But that's gonna be the book is, okay. It all looks good. But can they finally close it out? They've been there before Andy Reid has been there before, you know, Philadelphia. Kenny finally, close it up man with this with Mahomes. It just seemed like the kid is just fearless out there last night was about teams that were both there to try and show. They could defy expectations of those past versions of themselves and one team in Kansas City, continued to stave that off for the time being and the other in the Bengals invited all the usual, criticisms, right? Exactly. I mean, I think that's another loss by Andy Dalton on Sunday night. I don't think he's a verse to Sunday night. I think normally if you're on a Sunday night, you're playing it gets a really good team. It's a Mark up more than anything else. But to the point about Andy Reid, here's Andy Reid, not talking about Patrick Mahomes, but talking about the running game, which let's hope he can. Continues to talk and remember about throughout this entire season Kareem is what you did last year too mean he's playing as well as any rain back in the National Football League. He's not only running the ball like crazies, catching the football. I actually took him out before he broke the hundred yard marker had an opportunity to for this game. But he would have done that goes off to Kareem. I just I think he's playing great football right now and tougher bone. So he's punishing right now. And that's. Something to watch. And the interesting thing there guys is we saw this from Corinne last year in his rookie year. And remember he sorta hit that rookie wall right around week nine or week ten and his production fell way off. So you have to think that Kareem now understands better how to handle himself going forward for the longer season in the NFL is opposed to a while. We're given a lot of love to pack them homes and Kareem at offense. But we've seen a lot of power out of that offense. But what have we seen on the other side? We see at times a horrible defense. This defensive went up against what we thought it was pretty good offense or a lot of weapons on offense and only gave up ten points only gave up ten point. Now Cincinnati had to get out of there out of their game plan ios twenty four seven at halftime thirty one seven with eleven minutes ago in the third quarter. So you kind of have to adjust a little bit. But any Andy Dalton fifteen of twenty nine they they rushed for only sixty five yards again, they couldn't run as much because of the game plan. But you gotta get some credit to that the Kansas City Kansas City defense gets put in a nice situation because they get to. Play more one dimensional on defensive knowing the opponent has to pass the ball a little more and that helps and then they have to go out and get the job done. Yeah. You've got to hold up your end of the bargain the way the team is built the two thousand twelve team. I played on at Notre Dame the number one defense in college football. So we knew we were going to get more cracks at it. Because they turn the ball over a lot, and they were going to get more stops, which meant we had more offense obssession. So we had to just hit on a big place. Something put a consistent drive together. Every once in a while to spell them. So that they could go and continue to be great while we were above average on offense for this Kansas City. Chiefs defense, you have to just go out there and pick spots where you get stopped. Be situational the way Tedy Bruschi and others have described modern NFL defense because your offense more often than not is going to put you in more advantageous advantageous situations than almost any other team in football. Absolutely. But you gotta give the chiefs defense credit 'cause the Bengals started that game with the ball. And they started with a three and out which I think, you know, I think people in Kansas.
