Taysom Hill, not Jameis Winston, to start at QB for New Orleans Saints
"To talk about the big news in the NFL today, which is that Taysom Hill is starting Sunday for the New Orleans Saints. And if you're in ESPN fantasy owner, you can use him at tight end. That is the dumbest. Your league will not allow me to do that. Sleeper is worrying picked him up and I cannot do that is the dumbest thing ever. He's played tight end like he plays every he's a utility player, but he Yeah, I like that. I like that. What is he listed at? Nothing. He's a quarterback, but he lines up a receiver. He plays special teams. I think you should be listening Fantasy as utility because he's not good enough. Okay if he was like a star And you. Could you like a star quarterback? I mean, okay, but it's Taysom Hill. I think. Just have fun with it and let you should be all who is the Steelers. Um, he was a tight end of the running back Jalen Samuel Jalen Samuels that this happened a couple years ago. That is so I could use him and running back or tied down. That is so different that we use the title of your own Carry sweet all know, in fantasy that Quarterbacks get more points week to week. It's just the way the scoring format generally goes. It doesn't mean they're more valuable because the variance between you know the fifth best quarterback and fantasy in the 15th best quarterback. A lot of times is not that much, but in terms of how much they score. They average usually between 15 and 20 points per game, even for the middle to your guys, Whereas running back, you're hoping to get 15 20 out of your great out of the greats, so I get a taste of Hill starting at quarterback for a high powered offense. With easy match up against the Atlanta Falcons to have him at tight end, which has been a wasteland for fantasy this year where you have to why I pray, do it. Just tight end is useless anyway, of course, where you should do it. It's completely unfair to whoever has to go up against two quarterbacks, 100% agree, but it's not something that happens every week. And I think it's fun. I think I think ESPN should drop the tight end eligibility from Taysom Hill. If I could just dropped right out of the general, I would suggest the all commissioners out there that play on ESPN or maybe yeah. Who does it, too. Too, even though if he even if he has eligibility on the site outlawed in your league in the honor in the In the name of fairness do not allow anyone in your fantasy league to put Taysom Hella tight. If it was up to me, I was starting at quarterback was up to me and fairness. I would just be out lowing tight end in general, but yeah, that's that's a scheming hot take from you that Just let's get rid of him for years now trying to pitch to get rid of it. Because if you don't I mean, I have Travis Kelsey this year, But if you don't it's we talked with Travis Clay or not. I'm sorry. My clay yesterday about The position in general. That's why it's a wasteland. So to me, you get one week of it getting a quarterback there. I like it. I say ride with it. Okay, So anyway, is not on the fantasy part of this. Although there is a lot there to go on with Taysom Hill. There is the simple headline of they are not putting in James Winston. They're putting in Taysom Hill over Jamis Winston, and to me, there's maybe a lot there as well. They have not bought at all going back to this past offseason, right before the Saints paid Taysom Hill and I believe they put a second round tender on Taysom Hill, and they were like rumors about New England being interested in Hill, but they didn't want to pay that tender. That and then they paid him two years $21 million. And there's all of this talk about how the Saints and Sean Payton really believe that Taysom Hill is the heir apparent to Drew Brees and is their next franchise quarterback. And I think when, When that happened, every football fan rolled their eyes at that, like, okay, sure, the guy that you put in a full back or the guy that is the gunner on punch. He's going to be your franchise quarterback. He's already 30. By the way. It's not like he's this young developmental prospect that has a bunch of raw skills. He does have raw skills. But he's 30. How much better is going to get this point? And you had Teddy Bridgewater last season. You must not have thought of him enough to even have and be your number two quarterback. You give him a third round pick by the way for Teddy Bridgewater. You did that. And then this year, Jamis Winston hits the open market. You go out and sign him. Drew Brees last year gets hurt. Who goes in Teddy Bridgewater? Not Taysom Hill this year, Drew Brees gets hurt. Who goes in Jamis? Winston? Not Taysom Hill. So up to this day, nothing about the Saints actions have told me that they truly believe Taysom Hill is going to one day be their starting quarterback. Their words have said it but their actions have not. But today we finally have a change there that they're not going with. Jamis Winston. They're going with Taysom Hill. Here's why To

So will Greer is the backup quarterback to Teddy Bridgewater. For this one. They do get back from injury, KK Short and Eli Apple among some of the highlights for the Panthers. For Arizona there down there to starting safeties who will not play in this game today as both Chris Banjo and Buddha Baker are out. So Curtis Riley Deonte Thompson start in their place there, and they will have the Andre Hopkins the league's number one receiver terms of yards and receptions after not practicing all week with an ankle injury.
David Archer previews the Atlanta Falcons
"The Atlanta Falcons will do so with a former Falcons quarterback. Now he is their longtime color analysts on the radio network for Atlanta. And that is David Archer. David Hope all is. Well. Thanks for doing this. When we look at the Falcons, they made a big offseason acquisition getting Todd Gurley We don't know where the health is of Todd Gurley. What do you expect at a Todd Gurley coming over from l. A to Atlanta for this upcoming season? Well, be honest with you. I think we're expecting a lot of early and mainly in the Red zone. If you look at Todd Gurley's numbers, even with with so called quote unquote down near Around 900 yards rushing, still had 12 touchdowns. All 12 of those touchdowns came in the red Zone, and I think that Atlanta if they could find a way to run the football down close Help three up the talented weapons that Ryan has on the perimeter. Now, listen, you have a little bit more of a potent attack a little bit more looking a little bit more like what? You looked like a 16 when Avante Freeman and Tevin Coleman. We're carrying the ball down there close and created that problem in the run game. Atlanta has not had that over the last couple of seasons. I think that's where they expect Todd Gurley to make his main hey is down there in the red Zone. With the way that you probably have to manage his reps as a running back the rest of the running back room. Is there something that jumps out to you? Yeah, I think it's a good group. Really Do I think that when you look at Brian, Ill in the way, Brian Gillis Kamani together that Hawkins drafted a couple of years ago, Brian Handsome solid moments a year ago. Quadri Allyson. Kid at Pittsburgh rookie from a year ago. Uh, kind of woke himself. A little bit of a roll is a short yardage guy. £225 Goal line Guy, four touchdowns. Hopefully, you know, Smith can come back. He was injured in the game a year ago. I believe against the Rams in which he was trying to pick up a Blitzer, which he shouldn't be here should be doing, but he is an outstanding receiver out of the backfield. And a good change of pace back at the back, So they get to three young guys that I think you could lean on. And like you said, Take some of that. Load off. Assad, Girl. Let's get to the next down. And when we do so, we take a look at Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. The two big names in that organization. Do you still believe that this team could be a play off team once again with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones? I do, but it's you know, obviously, it's about you know your supporting cast and you do some things on the other side of the ball, and I'm sure there's a question you've got to worry about the defense's side the football, But there there's a little area in the offensive line. The left guard has been a little bit leaky, right guard's been a little bit leaky because of some injuries and things that they could shore up that into your part of the offensive line. Ryan's Like most classic quarterbacks climb in the pocket. They got to be able to give him that opportunity. Do so if you get into your pressure and accurate from problems, one game will help in that regard, but Yeah. Julio Jones, 16 seconds, 1300 yard seasons. Matt Ryan, nine consecutive 4000 yard seasons. I don't see the one those guys backing off. When you talk about that offensive line to follow up on that I'm a big fan of Matt Hennessy. Being a temple grad, really smart football player puts in a lot of work. Is he going to make an immediate impact in your number one? Yeah, There's always a question that he's certainly in the mix to be the starting guard. There's no question about that. I think that there's ah lot excitement around when he brings the table and and obviously the heir apparent, Alex Mack, probably its center. So Alex back in a little bit longer to still have a good football any But I need to put some guys around him that Khun taken, it could be in there and we had German Brown and James Carpenter guys that could not stay on the field. There was some solid moments from those two big veteran players, but they did not stay on the field and consistency. In the interior specialist that left guard spotted Kennedy ultimately will probably win that job and be the starter that guard let's get to the next down. All right, David Archer. When they flip the switch here and go to the other side of the ball defensively, it was an up and down year for the defense, but it seemed like they did finish in a better spot than what they did earlier on in the season. You could probably say that for the entire team with the Atlanta Falcons this division. Is loaded with offensive talent. You know what the Saints are. Now you have Tom Brady and the division with Tampa Bay, and I'll be curious to see what Teddy Bridgewater does with the Panthers. What's your read on the Falcons defense entering 2020 Well, it's an uncertain situation obviously went on God. Dante Fowler, Dad's pressure off the edge contact. McKinley realized what they thought they had when they drafted him a couple of years and the number one spot picked up Charles Haley, who, ironically, was in the same draft. And raided a route the same attack McKinley are Charles Harris. I'm sorry. Charles. Charles Charles Haley. Right way. I'd like to have the guy that was rushing the pastor there for both the Cowboys in the 40 Niners. That would be great, but Harris. He does have some raw talent there. Can't he realize that I'm the Falcon Tutelage will have to wait and see Grady dear. It's an emerging star in the tackle position and Marlon Davidson, Vienna and an interesting ad, a guy that has the versatility to play inside. Maybe in past situations and also play the perimeter as a 34 defensive didn't run down situations. The answer at all Burn second round draft pick of the fact that they think they've upgraded their defensive line. It'll have to be upgraded because you get extremely young secondary. Probably gonna have a rookie a corner starting your nickels, a second year guy in your other corners of third year, guys, So there's a lot of young players on the perimeter need to get some pass rush speed up the thought process for the quarterback. Let's get to the final down. Alright. I'm surprised that Dan Quinn is Bacca's the head football coach for the Lancer Falcons. What does he have to do this year to keep his job and Is that seats the warm because, like I said, I was surprised that they brought him back for this year. It is warm. I think that it's fortunate they brought him back because of the current situation with the pandemic and the uncertainties, so some continuity certainly has played into Atlanta Falcons off season. I think they've had a solid offseason, much as you can, with the limitations. They're attached to this year, So I think that it was good in retrospect that, uh, Mr Black decided to keep Dan Quint on, but I think he's got there. They've got a bit pushed for a playoff spot. I think they've got to be. They can't come out of the box one in seven. It's got to be a team. It's in the hunt of the entire way. As you said, it's going to be outstanding division with outstanding quarterback play, but they have to be in the hunt to be a part of the postseason play. If they do that. And I think the fans will be a little bit of stab on the wound for the fans. But if you get out to a slow start, it would not surprise me. If if Mr Blank made some kind of decision mid season on coach Boy and I think, coach when is the right guy for the job Now it's put up or shut up. He scored a touchdown will go for two here Oscar. One more question This team was 11 5 We all know the deal they were in the Super Bowl blew the 28 23 lead. The next year, they did go 10 and six, the last two years. It's seven and nine. If you had to identify the biggest reason why this team has regressed, and I know they've had some injuries to but overall if it's not the health of the team, what's the biggest thing that you look at? Why this team wasn't able to recreate that magic from 2016 and 2017? I think their inconsistency ball on both sides of the football in conversion, down situations and in the red zone. I think Atlanta's done a great job of moving the ball from 20 to 20 But when they get in the red zone, they bogged down and settle for too many threes. And I think in turn the defense's side of the football. What about 22 23 scoring defense coming up 25 points a game. They've got to find a way to get more stops in the red zone. That's probably the answer that you could probably get from all teams struggled and not made the playoff teams, but I certainly think That that's identifiable with the Falcons over the last couple years, the inability down deep in the red Zone both on offensive defense, Julio Jones, he's Ah Hall of Fame player. We all know that one of the better wide receivers in the league He's only had one year of double digit touchdowns, going back to 2012 when he had 10 TUC maybe 10 touchdowns in his fortunes this year. Well, I think he's certainly capable of it. But you got an outstanding receiver on the other side of Calvin Ridley, who's realized his abilities down in the red Zone Pretty close. I think Aidan hearse is going to be a seamless transition from Austin Hooper tight end spot So there are a lot of weapons from that Ryan to get the football too. Don't forget Todd Gurley and how good he is at the back catching the football as well. So I I would say no, I think he's going to be 89 touchdowns. I don't think he goes double digits, but I think there's a lot of guys around him. They're going to score touchdowns. Look for guys somewhere between 13 14 guys catch touchdown passes issue. Say that we appreciate it. Thanks so much. You be well, my
New Orleans Saints agree to terms with QB Winston on one-year contract
"Yahoo Sports is Charles. Charles Robinson reports at Norrland's is finalizing a one year deal with Winston. The former buck coming off a five thousand one hundred nine yards season thirty plus touchdowns three interceptions and immediately eyebrows. Raised the idea that Winston would stay in the division. Go to the Saints. Backup drew brees. He enters the mix with Tatum Hill. Who IS SUPPOSED TO BE? And maybe still is the heir apparent To breeze so it just leads to a lot of unsolved mysteries in its own right greg your thoughts when you heard the news that Winston may be and quite possibly is headed to the saints I I wasn't shocked because I I what I did. This hashtag setup into your own comet with a big way. Why why you made your Greg sounding you often. I got it. I wasn't gonNA say anything but then mark reacted to it and I can't help myself but go ahead. I did this Saints Twitter Pot. Podcast just knew that way wolf as podcasts. Him into my buddy Adam and they were saying they were hearing. This was going to happen before the draft so they got sources on the inside and and they ended up being proven right and it makes all the sense in the world of your Jameis Winston and makes sense of. You're the saints too. I think you get a chance to get Jameis. Winston in the building for a year probably drew brees his last year. We haven't heard any financial terms the Jameis Winston deal you know was reported on before the Taste Hill extension Came out and the money that was involved. That extension came out. Part of me does wonder. Is this deal for absolute sure does did Winston know about that before he he came determines but either way he? He should do the deal. Because if he can somehow impress Sean Payton or if he can end up getting in the lineup and being as backup like Teddy Bridgewater What better place to possibly learn because damis Winstons still has a lot to learn but he also has a lot of talent a guy that throws for five thousand yards can do things in the NFL and like there's no better place to learn. Other than to undo. Breezy and Sean Payton.
Where Will Cam Newton Land?
"Another quarterback that's out there that hasn't found a home that I'm surprised by that the charge and go get is gather your teammates with cam Newton how do you feel about what it will what do you think I think cam Newton is about to really dominate somewhere but it seems like there's potentially no suitors for the guy what the hell's going on there I I think it's a bad timing thing right like there you know if everybody would know that cam Newton was going to be a free agent when they ought when the market opened up I think he's gone first day right but the fact that nobody knew Caroline was like always will be our quarterback and then on a random Tuesday they signed teddy Bridgewater like the second day of the trip three eighty is the advice I woke now next you know can't do you go see a trade war everybody knows there's no trade value because it I won't give up anything that you know you're not gonna keep both these guys we know you're going to release them in another week and now everybody's on their quarterback we know that Miami wants to go young they're going to draft charges they're definitely going to draft a quarterback and they have Tyrod Taylor to stand going to be so where's the fit like you will need the quarterback Cincinnati has any dog just sitting over there but we all know they're going take Joe burrow so what is the fifth I'm looking forward to a camp going to do I think this is uncomfortable position for camp but I think just like camp done is every every part of his life he's always just kind of figured it out and became it became a star just like everything else and I think at some point he's probably going to maybe have to take up a role as a backup guy like Taney deal did knowing that Hey I'm coming here to compete and eventually it which is going to take a really strong locker room hi who's going to be able to take take a lot more more we can't Nunez like possible that backup quarterback waiting right yeah like who's gonna be the star quarterback that's comfortable with that right that's another conversation yeah because you got the quarterbacks wide will get more interview opportunities and is going dressed better than the starting quarterback is gonna be bigger stronger on all these other things like that's a really tough spot to be fourteen to bring in somebody as well so I think that's also playing a part of it is well is that how can we take this on and not looking still look like we're confident in the guy that we have but we're gonna bring in cam Newton anyway and this is not Camdenton is nothing like Tim TiVo I intend to vote there's nothing like Colin Kaepernick but this is the conversation that was happening about all the your backup quarterback came a massive distraction for your team because the quarterback room the quarterback position is a big deal if you have somebody in a room that's a distraction to your team whether it's tam calling then candidate might say because he's a massive personality and very good at football we go to football having that'll be a potential distraction he could see how teams would be like at we're not we're not we can't put ourselves in that
Teddy Bridgewater: Just Have to Be Myself Replacing Cam Newton with Panthers
"Carolina Panthers new quarterback teddy Bridgewater here is he speaking on filling cam Newton's shoes where search results yeah it's been since insulation me all out of this incident must sell a last year tomorrow it's the world's smallest most renowned that means you got injured I have mentioned earlier and I just remind myself just being the best version of me and we also hear more from teddy Bridgewater here is how he's actually playing mad in isolation to help him learn more about the Panthers roster lets go of video games tell you what you got so we know the roster some of the guys on the roster so that's it you can sell but are you also made a note of that but yeah just being able to playing video games these guys more those guys allows how also they don't I see you first now here's my question is teddy Bridgewater could have played better imagine this year or better on the
Jets' Robby Anderson will go to Panthers
"Wide receiver market is finally moving. So let's go through it. We mentioned The Panthers Moving on from Cam Newton while they welcomed former jet Robbie Anderson on a two year twenty million contract Schefter had it as twelve million in two thousand twenty. He reunites with Matt rule which little bit connect the dots that nobody else really done. At least I haven't seen it Anderson was undrafted at a temple but his coach at temple was Matt Rule so This is a I think a quality signing for any team especially at that price the word throughout December and into January and then Leading up to free agency was that Robbie Anderson thought he can get anywhere from thirteen to fifteen million. He doesn't really come close to that. But the Teddy Bridgewater Lead. Panthers now have a deep threat to do some damage
Jaguars ship Nick Foles to Bears, one year after signing him to $88m deal
"Radio Brady of course not the only quarterback who's on the move this week Evers teddy Bridgewater Marcus Mariota and now Nick Foles balls is heading to Chicago the bears pulling off a trade with Jacksonville Chicago gives up a compensatory fourth round pick in return for getting Nick Foles so what happens now in Chicago here's our Mike Tannenbaum and feel gates there's a restart because in in our last show we had a debate about whether we think this is Nick Foles job immediately or whether we think this is competition to pursue the starting job and he admits will battle it out during offseason workouts if we have them and then eventually during training camp if that goes on as scheduled I look at it like this the bears were settling if they stuck surface did that with Mitch Trubisky yep the rosters to well fortified in too many spots and there were too many obvious concerns and trade you're right right pace may forever have to live with the idea that he took Mitch Trubisky ten slots ahead of Patrick Mahomes and deshaun Watson we get and traded up one of the first round pick to move up one slot to get him really I'm just gonna put but it's over it's done with that I've been two thousand and seventeen fun ways to win football games and salvage I mean it and we talk about this during lunch again the like you know Matt Ryan pays to be feeling the heat a little bit right now right he knows he's got to win this year and this division is not a cake walk you've got a good Vikings team made the playoffs last year an actual Packers team within its energy efficient game last year this is not an all in move but this is a movie you have to make to put yourself back in the mix to be competitive and allow yourself to playing January football Soldier Field again they had to make so I had to make a move etrade you said what is it on the play calling which basically was a three year starter they had one winning season when I was at the Dauphin two years ago were playing against him we want him to throw the ball down the field to the left he couldn't do that he he was thirtieth in the league in average yards per attempt that's a critical statistic that compresses the field and the other thing about Ryan pace the fields point which is your locker room keeps your general manager there is a check and balance they have a championship defense to Ryan pace's credit he could walk into that locker so he felt we could go win with Mitch Trubisky after we have three years of a sample set now you walk and say Hey this guy's won a Super Bowl we have a real chance now it injects energy into that whole program it also has three years left on the contract with twenty one million guaranteed the falls also has the ability now to avoid the deal after either of the first two years in Chicago depending on his

"Do you think the Rams need to be pursuing somebody like Ted teddy Bridgewater some type of insurance for Jared Goff. I don't know who's out at like teddy Bridgewater beyond with you. I think you have to. I mean, the eagles shank you, you gotta have somebody ready to go. If won't star quarterback goes down, you feel that they don't have that guy that Hundley he's not there. They fell apart the cowboy and liver poor fell apart when Romo down there you, you better have a guy that can carry the torch. If you guys goes down and you don't pay attention to that position, it usually comes back to bite you. I don't wo- shell Manion is that I know what he looked like a pretty sees. I'm not going to catch him off that, but you won't know until you put in that position. The saints I think are looking at not just a safety, but possibly a replacement to freeze. If all of a sudden at age forty, he starts to just get a little bit off his game or a year from all ten years from now teddy Bridgewater look very good in preseason. He's all the way back from that devastating knee injury until I think they're looking at just not as a backup, but possibly as an air parents to three breeze in Orleans. Ball, the some help brother. I need some help for you. I'm going to fan out real quick. I want to know why the NFL does this to me. Why do they do this to us? Not just me to us? Why are the jets and the Browns on the front page of NFL news? It seems every single day what one of the last place teams make so much knows Baldy. Well, the Broncos entertain you. I mean, they just had a line back with just get, you know, indicted for insider trading. They've got another guy on the team that says, you should trade with what he thinks. We could insight. They've got a quarterback battle, whether anybody wants eight or not. It had won a game. I mean, we like watching. This is your heart attacks. Is there so hope not. He nobody does television better and NFL films that HBO nobody ex-soviet spray reality TV and the check. Well, that's the goal. Boy from USA comes there and move a quarterback battle. And you know, I mean, we like watching four finally quarterbacks. You're getting a lot of that. You didn't. I two quarterback track those two teams. That's a big part of you. Brian, Brian, Baldinger, NFL network analysts you you've been around the league along time EV you ever seen anything quite like an NFL linebacker getting indicted for insider waiting like that was a headline. I gotta say I was not expecting that one. Well, I've always been. Football players. Sometimes you stay in their lane and play football, and sometimes they go out of the lane. They try to beat Wall Street or, you know, ATS whatever. I mean may not doing the wrong lane. So I haven't seen that one. I've seen a lot of other players who died in for various things. Obviously won't inside trading, but I hope I hope I like Michael kendricks. I know personally in Philadelphia, I hope that the restitution that he's paying going to be enough for that you could play football this year. We'll have to do to the penalty. You know, on bars, you'll be a be interesting. Actually. I mean, I really don't know how the league would handle it. If say, you know the the authorities decide that paying back the money or something like that where he doesn't have to do any type of jail time how the league would actually handle this in terms of punishment. Because I, I'm pretty confident that they don't have insider trading as part of the bargaining agreement. Lumper sharing, don't either, but I don't know how you guessed the case with how much Michael actually did he put his money with somebody else owns them all the details of it just on the surface of it. But you know if he isn't really, he wants to make me. I just don't know how we gotta find out. We've got to get out of the press charges, he'll and how far twice and you know, I guess that will determine some of it as well. Last question for you looking across town at the at the chargers they, they look like they could be a sneaky. Good team..

"We almost forgot that they was only one kick away from advancing to the second round, right, right there. You know why you can't say that about teddy Bridgewater teddy Bridgewater didn't get screwed over. He got hurt. I, I mean, he did. He get hurt, but why not the Vikings, not give him another change. I'm not talking about. They don't have to do anything that knee injury was so nasty. They moved in the different direction. I case keenum now occur cousins. The point that I'm trying to make to you. That that's an injury situation because it's an injury situation and you gotta defense that. So elite, you think you've got a shot at a Super Bowl championship. You can't speculate and wonder about your quarterback position with somebody coming off such a nasty knee injury. That's the problem of teddy Bridgewater didn't have any injury. We wouldn't be having this discussion. True. So now have you had it because of his game that would be different, but teddy Bridgewater lost his way in Minnesota because the knee injury was so nasty, people speculated whether or not he'd ever be the same again, that was what the problem was. Just like that? No, it's not a matter of giving up on them. I think there were Super Bowl champion. They've got Super Bowl aspirations. They've got an elite defense and they believe that they're literally a quarterback away from winning it all. So to me, it's not a long term issue. It's an immediate short-term issue. Whereas if you the New York Jets or somebody or not the New York Jets 'cause they drafted Sam darnold but tell 'cause teddy Bridgewater clearly playing for job and somebody's going to grab them if I'm the Jacksonville, Jaguars if I'm the Denver Broncos I'm looking for, I'm looking for case keenum right now. I'm looking for teddy Bridgewater right now without hesitation. Without hesitation. Appreciate the call..

"That's what everybody was talking about. And then somewhere along the line, they became overrated. Well, I think they were properly rated not only were they properly rated. I think we pretty much had every one of them right Baker Mayfield great instincts feel in the pocket accurate. What have we seen early in the preseason all those things Sam darnold he'd be a little loose with the ball, but he plays fast. He moves well, he's accurate. What have we seen in the preseason? All that Josh Rosen looks like he was born to throw football, very natural, throwing motion. Sometimes he takes too many hits. What are we seeing early in the preseason exactly that Josh Allen big strong athletic can put the ball wherever he wants. What have we seen in the preseason? All of that. And then Lamar Jackson, who everybody watched last night, what have we seen from him? What everybody is saying, accuracy issues, he's inconsistent with a ball. Sometimes it looks great. Sometimes it doesn't come out great, but he's got off the charts athleticism. It's. Everything that the scouts were telling us was all pretty much right. You know, all that stuff was pretty much right. And so that part of it was has been interesting to watch. And you know, again, I think you know which with each of them, you're looking for progress there. And I think we've seen it with darnold. We've seen it with with with Alan and we've seen it with Mayfield Rosen. I think it's been a little harder to see just because he's been playing in front of some shoddy offensive linemen and or behind some shoddy, offensive linemen. And then with Lamar Jackson, I think we've seen again let the inconsistency is a passer. Finally, fifth question v v v news topic, and we're going to get your questions here in a second. The trade market is a big time of year for trades, and I'm an explained you guys why. I think it's going to be difficult for the raiders to move Khalil Mack and for the jets to move teddy Bridgewater. 'cause to me, those are the two big names out there. Look, I tell you bridgewater's one of the great stories. In the NFL this summer, he looks awesome. The jets are happy with them. There are people in that coaching staff who wanna start them. It's everything you would want out of a guy coming back from just an absolutely devastating knee injury. You're getting from teddy Bridgewater. He looks like he looks like he did two years ago like could find being top twenty quarterback in the NFL. Here's the problem. Where's he going. If you across the NFL this is probably as stable as I as we've had it that position long time, like take it back here, we knew the jets. We're going to need to draft one. We knew the Browns. We're gonna need to draft on. Carson Palmer looked like he was sort of on his last leg, so you knew the cardinals. We're going to be in the market when the bills at loaded up with all those draft picks. They were going to take one. I don't know that there's a single team in the NFL right now where you sit there and you'd say to yourself that team needs a quarterback so bad that we're going to see them either. Take one of the top five or move aggressively up to get there to get one. There just isn't one and I looked at this. The other a couple of weeks ago. Every NFL roster has either a quarterback making sixteen million dollars per year or more or. A first round pick. They brought into the league on their roster except one and the one exception of the Dallas Cowboys who have Dak Prescott who they drafted in the fourth round. So every single team in the league as either a veteran on the roster making sixteen million per more or a guy, they drafted in the first round. And the NFL's stables has ever been at the position. And I think that makes it difficult for the for the jets to trade teddy Bridgewater..

"You would believe at this point to be a good backup. The question is as it relates to the other quarterbacks around the league to Sam darnold teddy Bridgewater teddy Bridgewater is played pretty well in the pro season. He in the preseason. He's has a history of being a starting quarterback, Sam darnold your future. Do you put him out there right away some suggest, yes. But now if you're the jets, if you've got Sam darnold out there, do you use teddy Bridgewater to go get you something you really need? Yes. You trade Bridgewater immediately. You've got John Okla. No question you trade and right now because here's what you have to ask yourself because we were talking about earlier about all these quarterback situations around the league where what's the option? If you're a team that's not really a playoff team. Let us the jets for an example. Are the jets playoff team with teddy Bridgewater. I don't think so. And that's not an indictment on Bridgewater. I think a lot of quarterbacks could be the starting for the jets and they still be a playoff contender. So if that's the case, then if bridgewater's not the difference between the playoffs are not used the equity be better equity to get better start Sam darnold. He's your future of the franchise anyway. Get some equity, Josh mccown, a guy that's there. He's been in the league. He can get it done. Then you look at a team like the ravens. But I just said a second ago, if RG three shows himself enough, is there equity with this guy to go train them? The air is on a cardinals, have Sam or have Sam Bradford, they have Josh Rosen. They have Mike Glennon. I mean, there are opportunities around the league to where if you need to Cleveland Browns drew Stanton Baker Mayfield tyrod Taylor to road. I'm sorry, Toronto, Toronto point. Oh, yeah, don't get, don't get it twisted. So there are numerous organizations that have this weird situation with the third team, or it's going to be a guy who. Who started in the league at some point. And if you're the jets and you know that there are teams starving for a quarterback teddy Bridgewater is starting quarterback in the NFL go get something. And there's a report from new York Daily News that the jets have contacted the Jaguars about Dante foul junior because they need help on that side mall. So if you can go move teddy Bridgewater for a Fowler, maybe that's a win win for both teams. But as relates to the ravens, though worst case scenario, Joe flacco gets hurt. Yup. Do you want RG three starting you on the margin? You want RG three art then. So so then he's your security blanket for Joe flacco. You go going to have Lamar Jackson out there for an option during games. Do something kinda funky, but if something happens and flacco gets hurt and you have to have someone started game, you're probably going to be more comfortable with RG three hundred early on than you are Lamar Jackson, you know who I would if I were front office with and I could make a couple of deal. I'd call the patriots for teddy Bridgewater real. I call the patriots who's backing up Tom Brady. Homeboy, what's his name? I don't even know the bed. Probably the patriot. He chased it Brady chased out all the good place Garoppolo and Bruce Brian Hoyer while your guys a Heuer's your backup. Call the patriots call Bill Belichick, but like you know what? Bridgewater is going to be a guy. He knows he's smart. He can come in. He can learn the offense. Bryant Heuer's your backup quarterback. You don't really have a good situation behind Brady dealt all your assets that we're going to be your future and give them a call. I mean, it's a division. I don't know if they want to do that. And I think that's a good fit. You've got to go to a system where you're pretty set, but there is a risk of injury in Tom Brady's age. He's getting up there. They don't have a good solution. Maybe that's the guy news. Stephen, a Smith show ESPN radio ESPN two today Michalis loan with Matt berry one, eight eight say ESPN one eight eight, seven, two, nine, three, seven, seven, six..

"He had more pressures than any player on a pretty good falcons defense by far last or even if you took away that that game. And if you add him and then the patriots top pick a year ago, Derek rivers who also look very good in this game and this rookie John Bentley, he's making really go a lot of noise at inside linebacker. Suddenly the patriots defense in the front. Seven has a lot more juice which they needed their endless gonna start isn't. He looks like he has a chance. He'll play Kyle van noy Dante Hightower onto Hightower, the all the all be in the mix, looking better than a Landon Roberts. He looks better than him. He looks better than Kyle van noy I think over under Greg, patriots. Tolman Heff wins. I'll go under. If you excited. Nice, cold water on right out. Scott Zolak that broadcast narrating robbing which as my favorite part of the preseason is watching the preseason broadcasts because they're like such a train wreck, half the time. They keep taking the wrong cameras, and people are surprised that they're on camera. All of a sudden there was a conversation at one point during the game, what would you rather fight a shark or a bear? Really like, yeah, I mean, it was. It was fantastic shadow spigot telecast. Let's get to the jets and Redskins because that was ESPN Monday night football, auditions. Not addition, but practice, let's call it. So it's hard to that. Effort that time as peak gets the touchdown, catch teddy Bridgewater guys. What is. And how does that feel after the last two years for ten, the jets have an interesting situation going on at quarterback Sam darnold got the start against the Redskins on Thursday night and looked a little bit like a rookie you look back at twenty one year old rookie. He threw it interception and the red zone. He didn't always look comfortable under pressure, held the ball a little bit, but teddy Bridgewater. The exception of a underthrown deep ball that was picked off played kind of out of his mind. He really, really looked like a guy who could start for a lot of teams so west. I'm curious your thoughts on this, Josh mccown is making ten million dollars this year. Okay. Teddy, I believe has really no guaranteed money, but he's making six million if he makes it makes the team at six million darnold is obviously the future who should be the starter of this team and how did the jets handle the situation? It's not the minor leagues. It's the NFL you should try to win games. I think that teddy Bridgewater should start. And if somebody wants to give you a third round pick for them, then maybe that changes the equation, but teddy Bridgewater outplayed him in the first game when everybody went Gaga over Sam darnold and he thoroughly outplayed him in this game teddy Bridgewater wasn't just good. He was outstanding in every facet of the game, except for the one back shoulder fade that was thrown to the inside that you mentioned Bridgewater. Playing like a real franchise quarterback. Now, durability is an issue. He's not the future. They're already invested in darnold. I just don't see the rush to put darnold in their week wound. Yeah, teddy looked really good. Some of those throws just where he was putting the ball and he was just taking shots down field to like, he's not afraid to do that. We know that about him with his arm strength, but he was able to move around the pocket. He took shots, his legs, you know, got hit. A couple of rolled loves on. It was okay. Yeah. And you, you look at the different quarterbacks, they have their mccown. He's only played one series this entire preseason. Wonder like it's a strange situation. It's kind of a jets you situation because I didn't think bringing back mccown I thought made sense at the time because you really didn't know Bridgewater is going to be ok physically, but now Bridgewater looks like the Bridgewater before the knee injury. So now they do have an issue. I I'm with west on this right now. I think that Bridgewater looks the best. He's really good two weeks in a row. Why not? Start him if he continues to play this way next week and then have darnold and work. Again, he's twenty one years old darnold you're gonna plenty of time, and then I wonder, Greg, is there a trade market for Josh mccown now? I don't think so..

"They did undergoing five, eleven five, eleven last season. I mean. Let's say that account is an getting hurt. They could win easily seven games. Let me see. So they see. So yeah, they did end up going five in eleven ended up losing the last four games of their season. Like I said, account, doesn't get hurt. Maybe they win a couple more. That's all I'm saying. So that's pretty much to say about that. I mean, as far as the jets QB situation but count doesn't need to be the star should either be Bridgewater darnold. I mean, if you it's, I think it's going to be Donald week one now that I think about it. I mean, you start teddy Bridgewater. You gonna keep ten million dollar Josh mccown as you quarterback. It's not a very smart business decision there. And I mean darnold good enough to the point where I don't think he needs to be the third quarterback on that team. So I think this ends with teddy Bridgewater not being in New York jet by week. One. And I mean teddy Bridgewater still got talent, but there's a point where does anyone want that talent then would need that talent. I'm not too sure. So we'll see what ends up happening with this team. I mean, they got a decent problem on their hands meaning. I mean, pretty much quarterbacks are in pretty good shape, so we'll see what ends up happening, but we're going to wrap it up here next up. "It routes august i got some questions for you guys that i wanna ask you about the nfl weaken that just was aimed at you tell me real talker bs will do next afternoons marcellus calvin ed espn reuter our fellows several talk bs it got some questions for you you simply i'll make a statement in in you tell me is a real talkers bs and start off with next opponent for the rapts which actually if i told you this may be a year ago you two that i won't be that compelling of a game but you gotta vikings and the ramps aram said it's minnesota let's talk about case keenan for a moment case keen on will be re kind of a reunion game for him part of ram's case should he remain or he should remain the starter for the vikings even with he'd twenty bridgewater being healthy for me it's real talk aung keep the hot hand out there teddy bridgewater is not a franchise player you may be hope and we may have is steamed towards but should not they're not solidified in that role yet saint tom brady coming back from injury where you like ours his job i will say to case came in plane amazing right now is similar numbers to teddy bridgewater before injury who knows what's going on in practice which really gives you confidence it's not the game though case kingdom is doing us in the game thirdbest you bjarne nfl right now in game situations i wouldn't messed with that chemistry and the fact that we only lost two games with this guy sake thought hand before injury i think teddy bridgewater was on his way to being a franchise quarterback donkey has everything it's there but that injury was so horrific that they went out and sign sam bradfort quarterback that they thought would be their future trade own norman yet i don't know why are you they thought he'd be as future because against the healthy ottamawadi thought that but they did that thinking that they had to move on so you have case of right there and he is playing well you still don't know where teddy is a real talk you keep the hot hand out there and you keep plan until he shows you he can't handle it.

"To get out yesterday stephen brink calling for this for a while they are squandering the prime potentially great quarterbacks career and what it means for andrew looks future is think about the teams the nfl that appear to be ready to win now but four eight a top notch quarterback how would the jags be with andrew luck right now vikings who have a couple of data shows good and and bridgewater is promising and getting better holiday look with andrew luck think of any team that needs a quarterback clock plug luck into that and and i imagine is ready to win now are not andrew luck needs to get out look i'm a giant giant a whole lot of but of all the giants needed was a quarterback and they wanted the first and second rounders from the judge you get a twenty eight year old andrew luck and handle him properly protect improperly i think he's still the guy stephen a including carson webs most likely to take over from aaron arron rogers the best quarterback in the game he must get out of this situation long as our assailants the team now look overseas we professional athletes including peyton manning aaron cobi bryan have gone in the past to get some more nontraditional treatment for injuries look in the rehab process trying to get that shoulders squared away meanwhile the six two vikings will kick off sunday against the redskins in case keno will start a quarterback but a lot of eyes are going to be a teddy bridgewater or he was activated off the populist and could play in his first game since suffering a torn acl back in august of two thousand sixteen adam schefter espn nfl insider are the latest on bridgewater sesotho that i think everybody been working tours and building for old during the season the hope was that teddy bridgewater come back now and that is in fact going to happen really is remarkable recovery from a player who suffer a catastrophic knee injury last august that really ends the careers of many nfl players that have had this injury before there were some who wonder whether teddy bridgewater ever would play again but import through his attitude in obviously ills work is coming back he's going to be activated in the vikings are hoping that at some point later this season he'll be able to store for them because the two teams going in opposite directions by the way bike ease of one porch great redskins have dropped three of their past five adam schefter reporting that.
