And i think like after the one set in the desert like i think that's when the wheels came off for me i just just the stupid thing was because i watched all those movies. I kept watching them in theaters. Just like wishing something change. I don't know. I don't. I guess under perfect customer. Still got him dude. I did wanna talk about just kind of shifting gears real quick. Lucas had hooked me up with the the key for in sound mind and with it being spooky cs and whatnot. I am definitely gonna be playing it. It's a psychological thriller at actually comes out Tomorrow on sale on steam. And i think it this so far and again. This is still very early for me. Game wise and i also had issues at to go back in and do some recording at basically start over my had reset my controller my controller or all kinds of drift and mike buttons were inputting correctly so i had a of a time so far though i have been enjoying the story. It's it's it's weird. I'm not one hundred percent again. I'm only about an hour deep into it. So i'm only now starting to uncover the mystery is if you know anything about me i do. I am not a horror game player. i don't like them. They make me feel weird. I like freaking out like that. But i am. I'm enjoying this. And i'm hoping with this being more of a psychological thriller that it you know it's not like about all the the scares and things like that so i am enjoying the story and Yeah you you could check this game out here on the twenty eighth. I'm playing it on playstation. Five is is what. I'm playing it but it's also i'm pc. Like i was saying it's on seem. I can't remember exactly what the price pricing wise What it looks like on steam. This is something that you're interested in if you do like scary games or psychological games Especially with it. Were right around the corner from october. this is a game that will see an and check. "Realize i'm coming from a very specific perspective like i've had jason today. Kaz and brendan hunt on my podcast. I've gotten to know them a little bit. I just think it's a really surprisingly good st- just show in terms of storytelling in terms of the main themes at a time when the us especially over the last few years has been under trump at least very anti foreign countries other countries. And i think ted lhasa has brought back the idea that americans can bring something positive to the rest of the world And i want to oversell it but because it's just a fun show. I don't think it's changing humanity. But i think at. It's come at a time during the kovic situation. When i think people also wanted to see something like that and it's a crazy ridiculous premise and so i'm just surprised that they've been able to take this crazy ridiculous premise. That doesn't make any sense in real life and actually make it into a show that has a lot of humanity and it. And i've enjoyed that. Yeah there's a sweetness to which i again lot the first series more than i did. The second series is a sense that you say. It's not really about football. I've a working theory that we've sports films is if i know the sport. I won't like the film. Which so i like baseball films because i don't know based worn account. See the joins in any football just annoys me too much to watch. So that's that might be a bit of it and the other is the. They juxtaposed the sweetness with the sort of swearing in the an crudity and the rest of it which sort of jar sometimes. But that's a minor point governor who is supposed to be sitting here. If i'm sitting here with my twelve year old daughter. She could watched ninety percent of it. But then talking about wanking and as i've had friends of mine ask if they're six-year-old with like it and that's actually a hard question to answer for the same reasons you're bringing up and so i get that but i would say for adults. I do recommend it and i'm curious to see where the show goes. Is it more than a sort of marginal piece in america is it bigger than that as atlanta. It's bigger than marginal and just this week. This was the show. The dominated the emmy awards for the best television in america so it certainly has reached a big audience clearly. They've got much bigger budgets for the second season. When you look at the guests who've come on they had gary lineker interior on on last week. They have clearly. They're paying a lot of money for licensing great music. And so it's it's something that i don't think anyone really predicted would get this big and it has an obviously. You're gonna get big a bit of a backlash from some quarters as you get bigger and bigger. It's a real thing. yeah. I'm not ted lasso basha. That's even thing go the scope. We can't say that. I wanted to like him on a data. Anyway was okay. It's been great. Chantey really enjoyed it. Where could find you. What can they do so many different things going on. I mean probably. She seems like the most likely winner to me for the second season. She's clearly the lead actress on the show which might give genetic juno temple a chance to win next year. Personal preference may be for lovecraft country just for its its audacity and it's wild highs and also for the opportunity for additional confusion regarding whether it was really and truly a one season show and should have been a limited series or whatever i think that probably lovecraft country's best chance of recognition as we discussed last week is gonna be michael kenneth williams and and i really hope he he wins. I mean it will not be. It will not be the moment that it should have been. It should have been a moment for the industry to embrace this person who everyone loves and instead it's going to be this very very sad moment of of regret and and tragedy But also of putting out in the world karmic comically the love that the industry. How for him. And so yeah. I think that's where it's best chance is going to be but in terms of actual winning one. Could i guess pretend to make the argument that because the in one all of those creative arts emmys it. It might have a chance to pull an upset. I think if you go back to last year you would discover that it also had roughly that many going into the final night and then succession one. So it's going to be the crown. And i think that that's fine. I i wouldn't be my pick but you know my pick would be a sentimental pick for pose but that i don't think pose is gonna win but i think i think you're right. I think the crown there. I think poses best chance is going to you know billy porter and i'm jay rodriguez and i think that i think billy porter has a strong chance and i think that. A lot of the technical wins that it got last weekend. Really and truly underground railroad should have have gotten. And i say that as someone who loved queen's gambit but you know queen's gambit is a beautiful looking show underground railroad is a breathtaking show it is a. It is a piece of art and so queen's gambit. Winning percent of autocracy to me was a little silly. A lot of the the sound awards. For example the queen's gambit one definitely underground railroad should have gotten so. I expect the queen's gambit is going to win. i think that there's at least a chance that kate winslet. I'm strong chance. Because she's kate winslet could win for merb'ys town. Instead of andy taylor joy and that would be a minor disappointment for me but i think kate winslet is great so yeah i think i think it's going to be queen's gambit i think if i had an actual vote it would be may destroy you and maybe michaela coal wins for writing and that would be. Because ted lhasa these days but with jubilee media i feel like middle. Ground is probably incorrect from wrong. A good representation of the type of programming that y'all put so can you kind of give me the well one. If you agree that middle ground is like a good example for folks and then kind of what that show is and how. The idea for the show came about absolutely. You're right ten. That empathy is a word. That's being used more and more often these days and i would. It's good. it's so good. I miss this show One of the things that. I'm learning from the internet though from twitter is that a lot of people were not paying attention to how apple releases its shows relate with. People surprised only one episode lot of complaints that it wasn't a binge to which i say. Ha i i am. We knew that we knew that us. We thought we knew that. Apparently less time i think there was three episodes. I yeah but also one of the things that you probably that you've got to remember. Is that a lot of people. Probably got into the show after it was. Yeah exactly like descent. Like november december. People get used to benching and they want bench. The and i'm not going to say that they're wrong for wanting that but i'm also not going to say for wanting you're wrong when i grew up with you had to watch tv when it was on and if you missed it you missed it to even. I'm old enough to remember those days. He had three channels all. Tv's were like twelve inches. Was that a little set a little after your time. Bigger than than twelve inch. Tv's but but i. i had cable. And i it depends on what part of my childhood because part of my childhood was spent overseas. When i had zero or one channel's yeah a large my childhood so i hadn't even less than most an. I grew up the same way that you had. I mean i think we've probably had a lot more channels in my childhood but still you had to tape things if you wanted to watch things again immediately yet to tape them. Vcr i didn't have a vcr. I don't remember having vcr. Maybe maybe my senior but definitely not not before that but yeah. It's just so interesting so many people we've gotten used to the bench model and what is fascinating to me of. All the big players will include apple. Tv plus as a big player for the purposes of this discussion at least but net of all the big players net flicks is really the one. That's hanging onto benching yeah Because hulu releases who who generally does the thing where they release like three episodes and then the rest of them are weekly Like a little bit. I do like a little mini binge. So if we had like episode one and two today for ted lhasa. That wouldn't have been bad. But i like the i mean there's definitely something to be said for spreading out. It certainly depends on the show like the tick loss. For example a loss was i call lost the last show before binging lost was my life for seven years like you understand. I lifted. I would watch an episode. I would immediately go online and there was like this chat room that i love. It was called television without pity. Thinks existing are you there. I would be on there for hours after the show discussing every nuance of the episode. And like all week. I would be checking back in the chat room and seeing like if anybody could come up with new theories and i mean it was it like i. I feel like. I've really lived in that place for seven years and now people life. The most people won't even try to budget if they missed it. They're like oh it's too many episodes forget it. I'm never watched that. And if they do try a lot of them can't get through it they're like it's just too much and a lot of some people that did get through are just like it was okay like the us. You didn't do it right. you didn't do it. You didn't have so you didn't have the the the season three. Hell avis where it was the first six episodes and then six months until episode seven. And i swear. There was over a year between seasons outset. Set some between season five and six. I think between the the second last and last season there was there was a big app. It was like just the sweets torture or the screaming get serenely white and then for the first time ever we had a dark loss title and then we waited over a year for it to get your right. Game of thrones with closest to that experience. I've had since then was definitely game of thrones because they parcel out the episodes the differences that people a lot of people did not watch game of thrones at real time. So you still couldn't talk about it because there was always somebody in the crowd that hadn't seen that episode yet and you didn't want to spoil. It has to be careful spoiler when it was lost. Like i don't even remember what time it Everybody watched it when it was live on. Tv everybody worrying about spoilers. You're right now. There are so many shows you can benched like we can have a couple of and i like the you know. Fridays ted loss. O'day i wonder what's gonna happen next week as the anticipation and the build up and stuff and and yet joe like you said the first season it came went. Now you can binge it if you really don't wanna wait around. Just wait until it's all ten episodes the season again. I think i think it's still think it's ten episodes. Wait ten weeks and but like from a business standpoint like it. It's it's clearly you guys saw today. Apple like the apple online store was just exclusively lasso. There wasn't a single apple products on the pages just blue kind of makes a comeback ted lassos face streaming here like for apple to like to to cover up. Its website like that. And it's i don't even remember if i sold a whole episode but i think schmidt gets overwhelmed by something like he finds out that his girlfriend like dated another women they now and he just blacks out and starts moving his hands and they're like what's he doing. It's oh when he gets overwhelming. He does the snare solo from drum. Y and he's just moving his hands around with these imaginary sticks and he just he's so funny and commits so well and joke is so out there that it destroyed me. I was incapable of even watching the rest of the episode. I was laughing so it's one of the still to this day. One of the funniest things. I three watch the show. I think three times. Maybe total since like i ended and i feel like i might be about starting fourth. Oh it's just. It makes me laugh every time i may. I may have to get on board with that.
