I was just listening to you talk about divorce parties and what do women usually do with their old wedding rings and that sort of thing? I sold one, but I had a friend who had hers made in two a toe ring so that she could, in her mind, walk on him. That's all that was pretty funny. Wow. Why do people get married? You know, we hear these stories and we think, oh my goodness. Well, that'll never be me. I know. I know. I wonder if there's ever been a woman who's so pissed off about a divorce or a cheating husband that she bit down, took the pain and had his face tattooed on her foot. The bottom of her foot. So wherever she goes, she's walking on his face. I bet somebody has done that. After hearing the toe ring thing, it's just one step. It's one step. I would never do that, not because it would be wrong to walk on him. But because that's an awful lot of discomfort to go through and have an eye suffered enough. When he's done to you though, look what he's done to you. Just go through that pain, you have a lifetime of stepping on his face. We had a caller one time who said she took her wedding ring and had it in the shape of a bullet for a necklace because she put a bullet in that marriage. That's right, I remember that. I remember that, yeah. I can't believe we're talking about wedding rings 'cause I just went through when I visited my mom. Just a week or so ago, I can't even have lost track of the days. She was like, she wanted to talk about, you know, her end of life plans. And I was like, mom, oh my God, can we not? And she said, I'm 80 now. We have to talk about this. And she went and she's like, this was my first wedding ring. And I won't care me to have this because we share a birthday and a birthstone. And this is my second wedding ring, and I want Olivia. Ted gave her Ted K for more than one wedding ring. She was only married twice, but my late stepfather loved to give her presence. And so she has a couple of different rings. This is my second wedding ring, and that's for Olivia. And this is the last wedding ring that I had. And I want you to have this. And she's like, putting things in bags and I'm like, mom, you're scaring me, don't do this. Like, can we not, can you not pack up your house and give it to me? And she said something has happened. And my heart skipped a beat. Like, what is she about to tell me? Anyway, you know my mom is like a big church lady and stuff. And she's on all these committees where you help people anyway. One of the members of their ward had to go into the hospital and it got real serious and they ended up in ICU and then they had to go into a rehab hospital and I'm not really sure what all went on, but it was serious stuff. And so my mom and a group of other women at the church were asked if they would help make this person's home ready because they have to go in and build a wheelchair ramp and they have to put grab bars in the shower and all that, you know, like all that kind of stuff. So off my mom goes to help with this project. My mom lived, my mom is the most immaculate orderly OCD person you will ever ever meet in your life. I mean, it is compulsive, like clinical. This woman's house that she goes into, this woman hordes. Like she's never thrown a magazine away. She's never thrown an empty soup can away. That level of hoarding. My mom was so overwhelmed by it. They spent a week in this house. My mom was so overwhelmed by it. She said, I came home. And I emptied at least 25 to 30% of my belongings out of this house. And I'm looking around and I was like, not for nothing, but do you have a spoon for this tea? Because what did you give away? She gave away everything. Like she is down to survivor man level belongings. She can't take it. Like she just, she gets panicky at the thought of being surrounded by stuff. And the last thing she said to me when we left and pulled out of the driveway, she said, I have to go back over there tomorrow pray for me. Oh my God, what's karmic retribution is it to send my mom into a hoarder house, right? I know. I know it. You know, when I was working as a I was still on my teens, working as an exterminator, trying to sell the money to get into a college. I was sent to a house to spray for roaches, and I walked in and the house, the upstairs, had, I don't know how many, but thousands and thousands and thousands of newspapers. All stacked up throughout the upstairs of the house. I had to walk down an aisle, room to room, spraying for the bugs, and I looked around, and I didn't know what hoarding was. I mean, hoarding was not a thing until it got on bravo, as far as I'm concerned. But evidently, people have been suffering with the whole world. Yeah. I just thought it was the most bizarre thing and I walked out of there, and I told one of my coworkers, I said, you won't believe what I just saw. The entire upstairs of the house are an old newspapers. When the guy just shook his head, I don't know, and we left. But that's been going on for a long time. My mom is who you want for this job 'cause she's ruthlessly clean your house, but she's just like, she's got the shakes. So I'm surprised that I didn't come home with a couch tied to the top of the truck just to get it out of her house for. All right, coming up. "It's early evening on Sunday, march 18th, 1990. And in Augusta, Georgia, Mary Sturgis, who everyone calls miss Louise, is starting to get worried because her 15 year old fraternal twin daughters dinette and Jeanette millbrook still haven't arrived back to the family apartment that they share with 5 of their 6 other siblings and their mother. They recently moved into this new apartment because it gave them more space, but it meant that danette and Jeanette would have to take the bus to finish out tenth grade at their old high school. Well, listen, the family has to watch every penny, and that Sunday there wasn't enough money for the girls to have bus fare for school on Monday. So miss Louise suggested that the girls asked their godfather, this guy Ted, who agreed to give them some money if they just came by and got it. So the twins had left for his house that afternoon at around two 30 or three to track the four miles or so to their old neighborhood where he lives. So it's not a short walk by any means, but it's been hours at this point, and they should have been home by now. Miss Louise calls Ted, who tells her that, yeah, the girls made it. They were there. They were just fine. He'd given them 20 bucks for the bus, plus a few extra dollars for spending money, but he's like, that was a while ago, and they've already left. So miss Louise calls her oldest child AC and her. She lives near Ted, and it would make sense for danette and jeannette to maybe like, stop by and see her before they came home. AC ender tells her that the twins did stop by for a little bit. They had wanted her to walk them home, which was kind of an unusual request, but AC and her just had a baby a couple of weeks ago and she wasn't up for it. So the girls left on their own headed in the direction of a nearby gas station called the pump and shop. So miss Louise hangs up the phone and it's reassuring to be able to trace the girl's steps to some degree, but it's getting late and it doesn't stop her from getting worried. So she asks a friend to watch her younger kids and she and her 12 year old chante set out for the pump and shop. Their mom figures that the girls want to spend the extra money, maybe that Ted gave them, maybe they're still there. And if not, their paths should cross on the way. Chande told R reporter Nina that she remembers looking everywhere on the way to the gas station. There was still some light in the sky, but it was fading fast, and they made it all the way to the gas station without any sight of them. And when they make it there, they do get some information from Gloria, the cashier who knows the family. Like they were all regulars in the store before they moved. According to the falling podcast, Gloria tells them that the twins came in around four 30 p.m.. They seemed totally fine. They bought chips, candy, some drinks, and then they left. Gloria saw them in the parking lot once they were out of the store, but again, she's like busy ringing up another customer.

"Away because she gives the men some information but it's not correct because he's not going to be at the corner pocket and it ends up that she does get paid for the forty either. Yeah so which. I think is the right move. You talked about that. Yeah like she. She loses the money and the money has to come from like the money that they get. Is ted's winnings. Because bobby has come up with this plan to get the money back to what was your sense of. How does ted get carter. Does ted give himself up at the end because the last we see if he's he's in the diner that separate from the corner pocket so he's not where the low men are looking for him and then bobby tries to send them away and they know that ted still town with the phone call And then you see sort of had get come to this realization when bobby comes back to the the cafe. Ted's gone yet and he's left his cigarette burning for a long time. So it wasn't like he got dragged out probably. Yes so. I didn't get a sense of if ted has given himself up to protect bobbi because we don't have that showdown with in the low man and ted. It's just ted's gone. I hadn't thought about it. Maybe he decided to this. Version of ted is a lot more in tune with using his powers in a given moment in the book. Right like when he sends bobby to go rescue carol. It's like ted is instigating. That said you better go find it right now. Whereas book ted. He didn't know what was going on with. Carol until bobby showed up at a store yup so in the diner scene. Ted might have been doing the same thing. He's he's senses what's happening. He knows what's about to happen. Perhaps rather than putting up a fight and getting himself hurt or endangering. Bobby he decides the best course of action is to simply turn himself in which is largely what happens in the book..

"I just loved that part colosio question. Absolutely who is your favorite character. Other than ted. My favorite character. And i can never decide whether ted is you know. Do i include ted or not include type because i have complex feelings about ten this season. It's dr sharon for sure. I think she is. Maybe one of the best second season additions to an ensemble. Ever in terms of complicating how everybody else relates to each other. I also in terms of sheer comedy. It's a coach beard. Who talks so little. But every little thing he says and every little noise he makes. There's a part. I know that you like me. Enjoyed the ted giving a speech about rahm communism. People say something wrong does not the way i see it guy. Here's what i believe. In communism rahm communism that is and it's just this very you can't tell whether he's sort of bummed it's not regular communism or that he thinks. This is a weird lecture. But every time i watched that clip. It made me giggle so much. And it's the same thing when he sort of every time he makes some like odd noise or exclamation. It makes me laugh so much. He does a great deal with very little on the page true and his expression snow. It's really white something. What do you like so much about. dr sharon. Is it her as a character is it. Also her as a catalyst for what's happening now as the story goes on. Yeah it's both. I mean i. I am a fan of good representations of therapy and the the meaning of therapy. I am very fond of her as a catalyst to change the direction of of some of what was happening on the show. I think she has really you know. I have used the word complicate a lot in talking about this season. I think she has really. Her presence has really helped to complicate. Ted's sense of himself. If the first season was all about everybody learning that ted really could do this job and could inspire people and all that stuff she has really come in and it's become clearer and clearer that there are as you said earlier limitations to his sort of inspirational jabber and also. I think he's become sort of more performance active. And it's i think her presence and the fact that she is so low key has kind of emphasized that a lot of his kind of business that he's constantly doing feels forced in a way. That sort of makes you think there's something going on with this guy. That's not just you know. This has been the season where they've really been like. How did he get this way. Like how does a person get this way Which are not always gonna see with the character who starts out really broad. So i really love her. I love that. Sarah niles performance which is really she just resists the urge to get into any of the broader comedy. That practically everybody else on that show is eating up at least some of the time she just. Has this really steady really quiet. She's very kind but she's not no. She's a therapist. She's not there to be sillier performed for people she's a doctor and i love that character in that way i think also in the final episodes we're gonna see..

Because it's not happening right now so that could be funny and could be a thing we do. But there's an opportunity for an ugly fallout. I also want to go back to mars bars. Mars also in the discord posted a link to a podcast episode. That jason sued acres. Brendan hunt did with brunei brown. Who is a social worker. Professor researcher thinker. Somebody who. You've got players from all over the world playing for teams in england and so these locker rooms are are really interesting places to be such that. What what you often find. Is you find like a player who grew up africa and maybe speaks french english. As a result of his time in africa along with any other languages he may speak from just being a native of whatever country and then maybe he goes away as a young player like at age sixteen or seventeen to germany and picks up german and speaks german for five or six years and you. Maybe you're talking about somebody who speaks french german fluently and has some broken english and then maybe moved to england and can communicate with their manager in german because their manager managed in germany or can communicate in french because their managers french but not english. Their english teammates. It's just fascinating the way that these locker rooms exists in football especially in europe and so the opportunity with the sam character being from nigeria and having a background where he was thoughtful and really immediately reflected that back to ted met. I think a lot of us were interested in seeing stories about sam. It was a character. I think they just barely scratched the surface of along with de niro host in season one and of course as we started season two. What are we have. We have a big daddy. Rojo story right away. We didn't really penetrate the psyche. Too much of daddy rojo's and it'd take away. What about what about that. Nightmare scene killing over again. Football's death in a little bit about his love life beyond football. Oh yeah right. We learned so much about dan he got deep into their psyche and dr fieldstone cured him by reminding him of his catch phrase. That football is life. So i don't know we got a lot more depth with sam and i'm so thrilled for it. I am so so thrilled for it and look this this kind of subject. There's i was as i as i talked about on this podcast to subject that you really cannot avoid if you really want to go there. With regard to what modern football is dealing with the issues that modern football reflects modern sport in general and for them to have done so so elegantly with sam to have it be so relatable..

"This is a basketball podcast nominally. So let's do some basketball stuff. Because and i think because you and jason today is obviously a big. Nba fan their nba references sprinkled into this show including one of which. I'm not sure anyone is noted. We're gonna talk about only. I would notice because i'm a crazy person but the most famous one was recreation of alan iverson's practice rant and the twist on it is. It's the coach giving the practice rant at the player and not the other way around and a lot of it is verbatim. There obviously deviations because the sports are different. All that for people who haven't seen it. It's an amazing rendition by jason today because as ted lasso of alan iverson practice ran. How did you decide to do this. How did you execute it. And how did you decide to have the coach. Sort of reverse the roles. It'd be the one giving the rent it. It happened in the flow of a writer's session talking about. I think we weren't even talking about that episode yet. We're kind of talking about things in general and then as as things just sometimes come up randomly allen iverson speech came up and immediately it was like ted gives that speech but he's advocating for practice over a game as opposed to a game over practice. Yes boom file that away like you know. Only only about half are writer's room knows that reference whatever's somewhere like okay. What what else are we talking about. Those new. It was was like okay. There's there's something there that's really funny And it was. Jason eventually chose where to put it. And i also think in the end you know his final touches on and definitely his performance of it really elevated to this great moment An i i'll always wonder because i'll never be able to experience this way. What it's like to watch that scene having no idea that we're making a reference. It seem so weird it'd be like Why really yelling. So i my wife. My wife is not familiar with the alan iverson practice rent so and but but as someone who knows it. I had my own delightful sensation which is the first time he says practice. It doesn't really register and then he says it again. You have this wonderful waterfall of the thing you like. They're doing the iverson practice ran. I had to stop the show and explain. There's player who complained about practice and like other exactly the same. It's exactly how many takes how many takes did people start laughing. Did the cast get the joke. Like tell me more. I think we probably do. I mean give all the different ain't coverage you know camera angles that we got it Probably did ten or fifteen takes total And you know that. Allow jason have ten or fifteen takes getting closer to getting it right. In terms of the the words themselves but for the most part the cast and crew had no idea what you're doing so it was between one of the camera moves during one of the camera moves that jason finally got this phone out and you know. Twelve dudes in richmond shirts. Gather around a phone and watch the speed like. Oh okay and jason really gets into the backstory. That too will what. I was going through at the time and Yeah there's been a few moments during the course of the season. I wish i can remember others. Were like we're doing a thing. The cast doesn't quite get it. They just give it full commitment anyway and then afterwards we explain it and they're like that's great except in a cockney accent when did you so the commercials were like two thousand thirteen fourteen. I think something like that. Then you have this idea for a show that what did you begin shooting. Twenty thousand nine twenty twenty. I dunno shooting schedules. Work something like that. So when in that so in six or seven years there was the moment when you knew when you thought for the first time. Only god this. We might actually get to do this. This isn't just a pipe dream that we have like. When did it become not like. When did you strike the deal. But when did it become like. Oh we might actually get to do this it. It was when Jason said the words bill lawrence For the first time Bill lawrence's our showroom and the fourth grade of the show for folks who don't know him he made scrubs and spin city Wrote in the first season of friends. cougar town. As his as well as jason saying he's forgotten more about television than any of us will ever know And and bill gets things done and once once jason was like hey is all the are to lhasa material that we can your workshop for while is that still online somewhere like yes man. That's so that's how the internet works local. I'm talking to bill lawrence tomorrow. Good bubalo And sure enough three months later. Me and jason. And you're having dinner with bill lawrence two months after that we're in a regiment unbelievable unbelievable success story and you've read all a of the interviews done in the past month. You've been asked a gazillion times. Like how does it feel when it becomes a hit. When did you know that it was becoming a hit. What's the piece of feedback where you were like. Oh my god. It's becoming ahead. So i don't i wanna ask that question differently but i don't quite know how to ask it differently. It must continue to happen every day..

"Is about like. I said he looked like barney five. He looked like don knotts. And that was one impressions. He'd do it at happy hour There's there's funny. Yeah you're exactly right. Ron passed away in nineteen ninety-three so But good dude and all he did was he did a very Length will and that offended offended night and again it was like you're really getting so this must be working if you are just off your smart to the business and you're pissed off it's working. That may be working to these other folks out their names as heard say the inter lands and it did work. You know the show that that was a great marriage and you know i god flair and talk. You couldn't so come on so he got over it. S we all know but he did get his feelings hurt but he was out of the he was out of the picture. He didn't want to be out of the picture. That was the angle how the was set up to self. Somebody's got to be out of the pitcher for a while this injury if people are drawn from their head on tables outside the ring very often. So that's kind of where that was a was just off for all about that. Let's let's talk about Ricky steamboat terry fox is gonna main event clash of the champions against ricky steamboat. More steam. it wins by q. Because funk has repeatedly hit steamboat with a ringside mike and It's pretty amazing when you think. About how timeless. Terry funk is this is happening fourteen years after he won the world title and he still main eventing clash of the champions. But he's on a collision course with ric flair. They finally me a great american bash in baltimore. July twenty third nineteen eighty nine eight drew the biggest and best gate. Wcw had until nineteen ninety six so quite the spectacle here pin faulk with an inside cradle even after funk debuted his new manager gary hart the match itself is one that fans still talk about Flare occasionally watch this one. I know he Called and ask me. Hey what was i wearing the purple and a russell focused yet. I wanna watch that. What was that great. American bash eighty nine rick out of your way to see it. It's a great match. Not my favorite they had. We're going to get there in a moment one a moment it was. What about gary hart. Though terry funk is a hell of a promo why did we think we needed gary. Hart was it to make sure. The fans booed him. That was a consideration about doubt. 'cause rick had not made that full transformation into they deface land. Yeah he resisted that quite frankly long time because he have more fun being a heel. Rick love to be booed. She loved to that. That sort of interaction. Where the where. They live audience but You know he'd been around so long and so beloved and respected more importantly because his work ethic and his skill set that people are starting to cheer him anyway. But i think gary would make with stacked the deck a little bit more against each therefore making it more easily to motivate the artists to cheer flare the underdog because gary was a looming bigger on the outside gary. Hart would a small guy for six two or three that great facial expression. And we didn't need gary to cut the promos for terry unless terry wasn't there then you had a great one of the great representatives that you could get cutting promos for this this angle. I think that was the situation there. And i can promise you that if rick and terry had not endorsed it and liked it. Check the box not been not have been in the picture. The talents made sure that happened. For whatever reasons they may have had You may talk. Rick time at a family reunion or something about asking how to gary hart get picked. Right was that your idea was a terry's idea was hurts idea but it might be you know. I don't underestimate that either. I think that that was the reason. Gary was sensitive established. He'll that he made. These would make terry a even more hated. He'll he was gonna make rick even eight more beloved new maybe says well gary forms the j tex corporation and terry funk and the great mood are put together and now they're gonna face sting and ric flair halloween havoc not regular match non-district cage match but an electrified cage match before we get there. We should talk about the build up that got a lot of people. Upset terry fox is going to put a plastic bag over ric flair's head in an attempt to suffocate him on the the the legend goes that This got mr hurd summoned to ted turner's office. Hey the fucker you knew in down there. What are you remember about this a minute. It got corporate. Yeah got it. I'm not so sure ted give you shit. But his board and his his underlings shit alive and so it was a a major deal for a while But you know. Nobody got dozer job so i always say what must have done. A shirt had had to do the do this..

"Obviously, the passing of Legend Henry Hank Air, and it's something I remember from watching games at Old County Stadium and The numbers are spectacular. I read through his career statistics earlier is absolutely amazing what he is accomplished in his career and 25 times in an All star and I think I think they played a couple times a year back in the day. We're joined, of course, by our own Greg Mastic from Wisconsin. After the news and all the great sports coverage he does hear WTMJ. It's not an easy pivot, but I'm gonna I'm gonna do it this way, And we're talking to Greg here. It is a big Sunday for sports in Wisconsin. But when we think about this week, the people that we have lost It's almost like Sundays is kind of a a nap to mystic way to kind of wrap that week. Does that make sense to you zit can be inspiring. We've lost some great icons of sports and great human beings. But Sunday here we go on the highest. Stage least at the conference level. Here we go on Sunday. Yeah, I kind of feel good finish to Ah, challenging week and I'd Steve, I apologize. My emotions got the best of me. Just never apologize for that. You know that zip art of my dad's childhood. That's part of you know how I kind of grew up and it's just it's Ah Challenging day and I'm sure not the only one who feels that way. But you're right. I mean, it's somewhat makes me wish that Lambo would be packed with 80,000. And you know, everybody feels like family when they're together, I think and that sort of setting Nonetheless, it'll be great to have fan engagement on the field. But, yeah, this is certainly shock waves being felt through not only the Packers locker room, but the state of Wisconsin. You know, sports fans or Or not, right? It's you know who Ted Thompson is. And you know who Hank Aaron is. And you know, don Sutton helped pave the way to the Brewers reaching the World Series in 1982 so A challenging week. To be sure, Yeah, when I was thinking about the career of Thompson last night, and we were going to talk a little bit about him today, But we obviously have the breaking news this morning of Henry Aaron's passing I mean, the incredible Number of Pro Bowl players, and it gets 20 or 25. The fact that he got us back to the to the Super Bowl and we want a Super Bowl, and this is the starting point for me. There's so many players playing at the highest level that he drafted that are on this current year's team. That's incredible. Yeah, and how many were first round picks? Not many very few, right. Aaron Rodgers is one but you know, you know David Bachtiar. He was a mid round pick Corey Lindsley. These air all pro caliber talent. Davante. Adams was a second rounder. Not all of Ted's draft picks worked it. Let's be honest, right? But you know when he hit he had, and he had a knack for finding second round wide receivers and middle round lineman who became all pro caliber players and It's amazing to me that his very first pick in 2005 is still playing and is an M V P in 2021 by that you talk about hitting your first pick out of the park and doing it with balls and guts. That was Ted in his pick of Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, you know, the end of his his tenure with the Packers was something that I just want to talk about a little bit. I mean, a lot as fans. We get upset, and we get angry when our team doesn't perform. I'm guilty that like anybody, but really, he was still performing at the highest level is actions in 2017. You know, extending Corey Lindsley and adding some other key players to this current squad. He was still performing at the highest level. That's something I think a lot of Packer fans seem to have forgotten. Yes, I think one of the final moves he made a side of Lindsley was signing Robert Tony into the practice squad. Something that I may have said in the sports cast, and then you know, you forget about it. Then he realized he was this guy running on the field and okay, whatever. That's proven to be a pretty significant move. He found Truman Williams as an under after rookie free agent who was cast away by the Houston Texans brought him into Green Bay, and four years later, he started at cornerback opposite Sam Shields. For a team that won the Super Bowl. Sam Shields wasn't under after rookie free agent who turned Pro Bowl starting quarterback So it's not just the guys who were drafted. I'm finding it interesting reading on Twitter. Some of the players who just said You know what Ted? Ted gave me a shot on Sound. Kun is part of that mixes. Well, he gave me a shot, and they were able to build a career in Green Bay. Talking to Greg Matt, Sick from Wisconsin's afternoon news, all the great sports coverage here on WTMJ when you look at the game Sunday to all five Sunday, um of course lead up to that a lot of great Packers coverage right here, WTMJ. I mean, what stands out? We have a great offense. The best offense, really NFL great quarterbacks on both sides. Defense is pretty good on both sides now, and that's been a work in progress for the Packers and the Buccaneers. What do you expect to see Sunday? Yeah, I would take take weeks. Six and just, you know, burn that tape because I don't think the Packers I gotta play that way. Um, I looked at the stats of week six and I was trying to figure out just Where things went south in the running game..

A very long time. Not only me, but there are a lot of other people that also did this, But yes. And and again. This is on the everyone's old diamond. And this is why, um, I guess, uh, It doesn't get overlooked, you know, And that's the amateurs. But again, it Z, where we, um we have radio amateurs and again. I have to again. I have they, You know, they looked at me as someone that very important, But you know, the real heroes were George. We're all those other guys. All my other friends. There were there were there were on the mainland. Because if I called no one answered, you know they wanted was there. But these guys were the ones that actually answered me actually made the relays all those thousands of people. Those are the real heroes. Those guys are the ones that made all those contacts those that have once that came back to me. And again. I mentioned three or four bed. There was many, many, many, many others that say, Listen, I'll take 10. I'll take Ted. Give me 10. Give me can give me and I had people like this and I got on the radio every single day every day at 6 P.m. at 14 to 50 megahertz. For eight weeks in a row. Good for you every day every single day. Good so we can cause we have to confirm people would say I'll come back later and case. We'll get back together and then you know, they're strange people calling up a strange people. People don't know that. I don't know that someone's gonna pick it up so people as they had to wait there then they'll see way. Get that too. Yeah, right. So even even when you're trying to be a good guy, It sometimes is difficult. But the only know it worked out. They worked out Super and I want to thank all my friends on the mainland for being the real heroes and this and that during that hurricane Maria George, let's go to the phones for you now east of the Rockies. John is with us and Western Ville, Ohio to get things started. Hi, John. Welcome. I hate you. I just wanna say thank you so much for taking my call is such an honor to speak on your program. Ask your guests the question. You're very welcome, Angel. I don't know if you could just Tell me The way that I'm like thinking that the The dish collapsed is that there was one cable that snapped Um, it took a disproportionate amount of weight. And that caused another cable to snap it doubled, And then there was just the sort of cascade effect that just lead to a catastrophic collapse. And then secondly, what's salvageable at this point on Uh, you know, reconstructing or making repairs and making it operable again. Okay, Well, that Zack, that's a good great question. So, yes. So when that cable the first day that you're just me, right? So when the first cable it came off, they put more stress on the other cables. And then when they second tables that involve obviously got those other cables had more stress on them. And in the strand started the bob. So when that was in the video you actually sees when it comes down that telescope did not go straight down. Because you have the other two towers where all those cables were. Okay, so it went off to the side, right? So it didn't go straight down. It went it went through the side and landed up on the edge of the dish because those those cables were okay. So what happens that? My mother is not all that the whole dish Since I didn't fall straight down. The whole desk did not get destroyed s so there is if we wanted to use that dish that this can be repairable again. Those were removable panels. They're about 39,000 of these removable panels. But right now the crew that That was responsible for the cleanup and ground zero with the trade the World Trade Center. That true is in there right now. So yeah, that's who it was. They put a couple of barges of there a big equipment, and that's the crew that Z That's explaining this up. So now that that arm that big ass in some, they're ready. That's all cut up in pieces, so well, there's nothing very WeII did salvage something some parts from inside. The dome. But not there. They're not really.

"We want you to reach out to us. We want you to follow us in to give your opinion and to support in what we're saying and talking about and believe it and then when you do decide to apply it's really important that you understand that it's a gift not ask. It's an idea not an issue and you want the audience to adopt your idea as their own. That's language of ted. So if you are pitching me your business or telling me that you're an amazing author and that you're going to talk about what you wrote about. That's not about the audience. That's about you ted. Talks are about how you can serve the audience and an idea worth spreading that will ultimately get the audience to think differently. And if an application asks for a video submission. Don't send some random link to some talk some conference. You spoke at take the time to speak directly to the organizer and to say. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I'm really looking forward to serving your audience at tech's x and then talk about your idea. I've gotten people who when i asked specifically for a two minute video introducing themselves. They a when they don't send me that and they send me a link to something else. It tells me two things. They're not reading directions and they're lazy so really think about this as an opportunity to connect with another human being and i know that it's it sounds daunting because there's a massive veil separating ted from everybody else and i am here to pull back the curtain as a former organizer we want you to reach out and as somebody who puts people on stages i wanna know what you care about and i wanna know that you can talk to me about something. That's not selling your business or your book and that you really have an idea that is meant to have global impact. And those are the things that i would really say. Also the other part of this equation is vet the organizers. Ted ex is an independently organized event. That ted gives licenses to now. They're they're very successful. They have exploded as you know in the last several years. So it's very difficult for every ted event to be attended by somebody who works for ted. So you want to vet the organizers because the last thing you wanna do is work for nine months on your big talk on your wardrobe on the time commitment that it takes to memorize and walk into an event. That looks terrible that has no lighting. That has no sound. That doesn't have a projector so that you can't use your slides because that video will be online for the rest of your life and the people who run events the organizers and the speakers they do not own those videos ted owns videos and organizers are required to upload them to ted and ted decides whether they distribute them on youtube or on ted dot com c zero.
