"Very long. Let's get back to the dude. How much respect that macho man have for Sherry to let her take lead on the Promo? She got more than he did respect. Just think good she zero to feel the rest of the time Who have some fun working with thinking? Yeah she's got it was it like doing the The brother love show with that pear. And Sousse I mean had to be some of the best shave ever did. Yeah because all I had to do is talk to them and then we would have then we would come up with a line for tiny to do but I I loved it because is much shit as we talk about in the back you never knew what was going to come out of any one of our mouths once we got out there with a microphone in front of us so that part was fun and I used to share. Used to love to try to get me to break in. I would try to get her to break and sat savage just would but Sharon would always try to have fun like that. Good Times man my other favorite Promo. You gotta find the one where they're building The the match. The movie the no-holds-barred Christmas in December of nineteen eighty nine. I JUST PHENOMENAL. Promo where you see. I'm not GonNa play the audio because you've just got to see it but Jerry climbs the fucking cage and then trust to get off camera and tries to scoot around from the front to the back where you can't see your but she's still on camera. Just Gracia we should mention made a mainstream appearance in late. Nineteen Ninety Sharing Randy appear on the lifestyles of the rich and famous hosted by Robin Leach. I don't know that we've talked about that since we did. Our million dollar man episode any memories of the appearance here by Sherry and Randy on the show. Yeah this wasn't. This wasn't as in depth as the one that the did with DB OSCE and it was just kind of all set pieces in everything. But it wasn't really that in depth. But it was nice exposure for Randy and Liz and a way to get that Macho King Gimmick out there Robin loved US Robin Leach and was really good partner worked with us often anytime he saw something. Hey this would be. Wacky was A. Hey what if And Sherry in in fucking King Macho King was though some entertaining shit man. I just can't help but but brag about how wonderful she was with the Macho King. You know as we're so scrolling through memory lane here I remembered inner feud with With Sapphire and this has become an internet. Meme in the most recent year so And I think the title is something like a win. The Chili's bartender cuts you and your friend off. You know after you know five Margaritas. And they're both just flipping out and share. He's yelling pointing at the camera. You're a common woman which is so great considering the dusty was calling himself the common man and just phenomenal staff take a tip of the cap to Sherri Martel this weekend and go look up so these promos this weekend as you're finding some some old wrestling to enjoy the rest of the nineteen ninety as we head into wrestlemainia seven to ninety one cherry of course still managing the. Macho man are the macho king as it were wrestlemainia seven. Of course we were building towards a retirement match with the ultimate warrior when Warrior wins the match. The mashes over sheer gets in. The ring starts yelling at Randy. Then she starts to kick him and then. Elizabeth who was in the crowd jumps over the guard. Rail runs down. The AL grabbed Sherri by the hair throws are out of the ring then Randy and Liz or hugging and reunited one of the most emotional moments in wwf. History fans are showed on camera crying. Onscreen we've covered this. In the archives you can enjoy a wrestlemania seven episode but really phenomenal moment in wrestling history and Sherry says earlier in the day before doors were open randy and lists came to the show together and gave me a present. The thanks for the two years together and it was a phantom of the opera mask with a necklace built into it Ah PRETTY COOL sign of respect for some of the all time greats go into Sherri Martel here. Yeah and they. They truly love each other. I mean the three of them yet was we. We had great times on the road and family. So this was this was way of saying thank you and thank you for stepping in and and being there and never being that headache and pain in the ass could sometimes rise with those situations and Sherry played it to perfection. She was a part of the family. And I think Randy in Radian. Liz both really loved her. Later in the show Sherry within a company Ted Diaz into the ring and become his manager. So she's off the million dollar. She's off the Macho gang she's owned the million dollar man. Why was this decision? Made Well Randy was going away for a while. We didn't WANNA lose the Star Power Sensational Sherri and you had the dynamic of Virgil with Ted Diaz. But we didn't have that dynamic of Ted with a female and this was just that Opportunity Sherry was great. It would add another dimension. A whole `nother you know you look at. What Cherry did for Macho King and everyone could argue randy? Savage didn't need manager Randy savage. Didn't need anybody comes. Promos form and no didn't need anyone to be out at the ringed enhances matches. However when you did that you went holy Shit. What a package. And that's the same thing as how we looked at the million dollar man Ted to be awesome. Didn't need a manager. Ted Did need someone enhances matches but holy Shit when you add Sherri Martel that package. You got a brand new fucking package and brand new character presentation. We should.

Though, the, the floor is hot lava, when thank you, once you touch the hot lava you're done. You know step on a crack. Kip saving and Sammy Rivera was fine, Mr. SCU against the strong hearts, super cool was good. Frank exonerated is just so goddamn good. It's it's ridiculous. Frankie Frankie the women's fatal four way match when awesome Kong got introduced I leaped out of my chair that was cool. That was super fucking cool. Best friends versus and helicopter and Jack Evans dying. All those guys can dynamite. I also liked how they sort of what because brandy came out in her gear. It was like, yeah. Teas that she was putting yourself in hall, misdirections so perfect so fucking good. Yeah. The best friends, though, they have now they may have topped dude love for the greatest titan Tron video I've ever seen just some of the I mean, just that was it sums up the tone of that team. So well, Trent is the fucking man Chucky, t never keep. Never, never take your eyes off, Chuck Taylor. If he's in a match fucking, just terrific. Yeah. Reference stuff. Okay. Now the Joshi match the six women tag match, which I watched the bulk of on a screen in the concourse, because I was trying to get some business done. We had to get some grub. And it's funny when you came back, I was like. I hate to say it like it's been good. It's been really fucking good. Yeah. That match in particular reminded me of how I felt watching barely legal for the first time because they had the Michio no pro match. Right. You know, again with, like a six man or an eight-man whatever it was. And but the difference is I thought this match was better because. On the EC w show. It was just. Oh, this is totally different. And it's just a lot of high spots. And everybody's going to go in there and do their thing. And this is wild whereas the women's match was I understood who all their characters were from their outfits from their movement. They understood who they were and they were able to communicate with me non verbally. No. It didn't have to be a promo about driving a car backwards and red riding a hotdog cart to the ring. You know it was just fucking. I, I still out. I, I don't know everybody's name, which is which, you know, going into it. All I knew was was odd Yukon right now big time. But I mean, the, the one girl who is berry peppy. Yes, who was just acting berry, you know, almost like a. An animation character. Fucking slayed me. Yeah. The other woman came out dressed like Freddie Mercury which I was like, oh man Ted Diaz. Favorite wrestler of the night, fucking wild and Kong is just untouchable. Yeah. I mean it was just. I don't think I'm sure there are people there who knew who everyone was maybe, but by and large the guy with the laptop behind us. Melted brings his laptop to the show kids. I mean, listen, he's fucked journalists man. Hey, man. That's his office. This is his office. But God, damn that ma-. But I was in it also reminded me of. Seeing new Japan at the railway. Oh, yeah. "Morella that was Gino Morella gorilla Mazda. Right. So geo gamey or call you may. And that was no big, Gino. You know? Yeah. Yeah. That's no big thing. I can do that. Now did you get along with Bischoff air tool? God your hope do all the talk. Hulk said air jumped on board with and terror. Now. Taking a little bit of courage in balls to say this to knowing that you could kick my ass. I always thought the N W was better with just hall Nash. And HOGAN just because I thought once it had like Horace HOGAN in it is a little diluted was that what was the feeling when they said, hey, we're going to expand the W O two. Start hope gave me a call. Okay. They were three members hawk hall. Nash HOGAN game call how about you intend to come in a sow terror call. So we both agreed the come on into so. "Seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six back to some of the sports socks. If you want to call and talk about the maniac with that got the list of matches here. Like, I said I'm pumped up for my boys Hawkins and Ryder wanna see them win the tag team titles after that. It'll look there's something throughout that you get into. But obviously we're talking about the Mets as well. And the Mets back underway today. Thankfully, we get that Friday all day now behind us. And today's where the action is at you get the Mets at one Mets second on the nationals. Nets and the box at five o'clock Mets battling for their playoff lives Yankees. And Orioles seven o'clock. I'll be on following that game here. A little bit later on today. You get the final four first game. Get started at six o'clock. And then he got the nine PM game after that my older Rangers finish up their season. So a lot has looked to see they're to be playing in the playoffs. One that's going to start the whole playoff schedule. So a lot of excitement with that. And obviously we've mentioned the final four Virginia and Auburn the first game get underway. Michigan state and then. Texas Tech will follow so tons of action later on today. We'll react to it. After all the stuff also preview the final four next hour. We'll do that win for VIN Parisi of Fox Sports one. And s and why the college basketball analyst? For them till then we'll be taking your calls. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six by the way. Listen to WFAN anytime anywhere. Download the radio dot com app and favored us today. And if you have Alexa, or go home just say play WFAN and you'll be locked in to the fan, George in fresh meadows. What's up, George? Hey, I love you. So I just wanted to call in and ventilated about Mickey Callaway have no respect for him. I have six quick comments just to show. What I mean? A six pack for George, right? Let's make it quick George absolutely one. He better JD Davis Floyd in one or two games. I know because of lefty righty thing, but he also batted romo's Wilson picked in that game. Two when he got hit. My head camera was on Mickey what to check on the first base especi- facial, especially with. Ooh, didn't look good. So what's he doing keeps them in the game? What if there was a play at second base, it just nine he was able to give a lot number three. He was able to give a Lonzo McNeil a day off. But he can't give nemo day off. We've been horrible at the back. But that batting four get Lou Lou go through forty pitches in one inning. What he knows the guy is under the weather any continues to overuse them. You're gonna kill the before number five and six that to me is the biggest offensive for the other ones are whatever that one is inexcusable number five. The four one lead in the ninth number sixty familiar yesterday in an OT school. He has to start using Avalon and Peterson a lot more or this is going to get shot, George. I'm with you a thousand percent on numbers four five and six he's got to manage the bullpen better has to happen. Why is he using Lugo goal? The way that he has been and I know he trust logo. That's one of the guys he trusts, obviously. But he's overusing them to a point of where lugos not going to be as effective as he hasn't. Plus, he's under the weather Calloway set is much. So if he is not feeling well, why would you continue to over use them go to somebody else? Hey, look, I understand that you don't trust him Peterson or Louis Avalon. There's a reason those guys maybe the last two guys on the team. I understand you don't trust them as much as you trust the other guys, but they're in the pain, and you're going to have to use them to get some else. Not every inning is going to be clean. And what happens when you overuse the good guys the guys that you do trust. They start to become less effective. And the result is not going to be what you would hope anyway. So why not give Tim Peterson a chance to start an inning clean and? And he does the same thing with Justin Wilson L have just a Wilson. Starting Wilson gets through the inning. And then he brings it back out for the next inning. No, you don't sneak two innings out of them. Let him get his one and get out and get somebody else in there. He's completely mismanaged. The bullpen drives me nuts. Then he's in Rockaway. What's up in? Wrestlemainia going to be back in New York on Sunday. Sure. What do you think the most exciting that is going to be estimated? And do you think the undertaker gonna make his return? Well, we just had Jimmy trainer on. And you know, we mentioned the undertaker. I'm tired of the undertaker. Can't he just go away? Ready? Look, here's his we need to know about the undertaker. I remember as a kid. I'm not in a wrestling the way, like monzo or Evan ARA. I'm into it a little bit. But not like, I haven't watched it. Religiously I always explain it was from about eighty six or eighty seven to ninety two. I would consider myself an expert, maybe ninety three. I mean, I I loved those years that was like I was all about it. From eighty seven to about ninety two ninety three that period right there. That is one I loved wrestling after that I was out for a while. Then maybe I watched a little bit and say two thousand maybe two thousand one then I was out for wall. Then maybe I watched a little bit in. Oh, six or seven maybe eight something like that. Then I was out and came back. So I've been in and out at different times, the course of my life. But I remember when the undertaker came in to WWE WWF, and I remember being a big deal. And I remember being kid who was like intimidated and scared by the undertaker, you're going back years. Now, do I still need to see I'm going to be forty years old? He came in. When I was a kid. We've seen the comebacks. We've seen the extra appearances over the years. Do we really need to see him again? He can't move. It's over. He debuted in survivor series nineteen ninety and if I'm not mistaken. It was one of those in this is why it was the best back then survivor series. They used to have you know, they put up the different teams. And you'd see the body of the guys when they were announcing the matches on a full screen. They put up a full screen and say like, let's say it's the million dollar team, which I think he was on versus Jake the snake team or whatever it may be and you see each guys going to be Jake the snake end Jimmy Snuka, and let's say the rockers or we could get producer Robbie row could get the exact matchup, and it's going to be Ted Diaz, and the honky tonk man and whoever else and mystery partner there was a question, Mark. Well, who's the mystery partner on a million dollar badge day? Dr bad parter, and then comes out this guy who. Oh, look at that guy. And you know, monsoon would announce and it's the undertaker and he looked very intimidating, but it was cool because that was how he made his debut that mystery guy in that match. You got the details of that match producer Robbie. Yeah. It was HOGAN Tito, Santana and the ultimate warrior, and they defeated Hercules, Paul Roma. Rick Martel, Ted. And the undertaker. Excuse me. I'm sorry. I read the wrong they saw a million dollar tree the million dollar team defeated the dream team. That was the honky tonk man, Greg Valentine, Ted in the undertake beats Snuka was it. No, no. Maybe that was different getting mixed up with undertaking. And they had three people with the ringside. They had brother. Love's Jimmy Hart and Virgil they defeated the dream team of you. That was Brad Hart dusty Rhodes, CoCo beware the bird man.

"Sports fan on earth is gonna find out what's on ESPN that night. And it's massive for us. They're the leader in sports. They do it better than anybody else does. And like I said it's gonna be a great five years and one thing I just wanted to clear up Kron Gracie Hickson son fixing. Thank you. Thank you for the correction. Okay. Okay. Dana before we let you go. I know you're never afraid to you know, go outside the box in these questions. So one of the big stories today in sports was Adam silver, the Commissioner of the NBA the NFL's tried to poach him a couple of times. And and he's like, nah, I'm good. I don't need to deal with that stuff. Like, you know, you're in a unique situation like. Freddie was joking because he has a wrestling background. He worked at the WWE, and they had a character named them lean dollar, man. Ted Diaz because Vince, oh said everyone had a price. Is there a price though? Like is there such a thing that bleep you money where you would walk away from a good thing. No, no, man. This this is this is my passion. This is what I love to do. And I'm good with the money. And and I I'm good I and people are going to, you know, call Bs on me when I say this. But it's true. And I say this all the time I was never in this for the money. I never got into the fight business for the money. I get into fight business because I love it. This is what I'd love to do when I jump out of bed every day and go to work, even after, you know, twenty something years of doing this. I still love it. So so there there is no f you money for me fighting's, the best sport in the world. Next Kellerman had a quote, where he said if you saw if you're an intersection and the best soccer player was on one corner. The best basketball player on another corner. The best football player in another corner. All doing their things and two random guys. Got in a fight on the fourth ours. Everybody going to run. It's always the fight gave data. You might have the best job in all of sports. I'm jealous of you on a daily basis, especially when heavyweights are fighting. And I wish you guys a ton of is man. I really appreciate not it's free on ESPN this Kate. Even the even the came Alaska's. This is on ESPN the whole thing on this is how they get him. The first one's free. They're coming up next by a means going to join us a four forty we'll get into kind of a Laker drama with him means job. Not as good as Dana. It's not as good. But I do want to ask you about. What the hell's going on a major league baseball, particularly with the dodgers because Dave Roberts took an interesting tact heading into spring training. But there's a big problem going on a major league baseball. We'll discuss next shutout today and a wide shut out to Michelle Vito for joining us, this Valentine's music, right here. Oh, yeah. You mentioned Ramon was on two different TV's the reason Ramona is getting a lot of TV today as she broke a story this morning. That was interesting. She says the NFL went after Adam silver. Yeah. And he Sean has said that before and that they tried to get Adam silver is she doing stealing keys breaking. No, no, no. No. No. But key, I agree with you Keyshawn story. And Ramona's taking the credit right now, it's like a year ago. Well, so, but what was interesting, but strays Adam said, he's not he didn't think about it. He's moved past it. He's hispan- his whole life at the NBA is going to say it the NBA. But unless it's something like morally wrong, I much money would it cost to let me sleep with your wife. Nobody's gonna do that. But this to change leagues. Everybody has a price. Right. If they came to him and said, Adam look, we're at league in crisis. We're the richest league in the world, we'll pay you a billion dollars to be the NFL Commissioner doesn't have to do it. I mean, they're not gonna Bill. Right. Just trying to get enough. It were six billion. Came out. I'm trying to like could Cadel made wet like forty million. Yeah. Yeah. Like if Freddie gave him the I just watched the godfather if they gave him an offer he couldn't refuse he'd have to do. It all goes back to wrestling for me the million dollar, man. Ted diaz. And he was humiliated people in the crowd with a hundred dollar Bill and make them do and people would willingly do it. And these weren't like setups. This was like live. So anything could have happened. But Vinci's philosophy was everyone. Vince McMahon created the character of the million dollar, man. Ted db from down, south, rain and said, I have a gimmick for you. "So I stand by the hipster pick. I gotta give love to the Mexican giving up to that either. Lucia doors man who've been to Guerrero, nine cuvee juice who've into Guerrero, who's the WCW Erez one of the more smaller guys. And you know, you gotta give love to the smaller. People shots the flyweights may show. So want to give you know staying in that theme giving to them some of the most fun match ups ever number Ken shamrock man, Ken shamrock. I mean, I knew he was part of the reason why I got into Neubauer MA. I knew about you see her cage fighting which is why when a guy named shamrock came from cage fighting key step down to the WWE. Ooh, this guy's bad as he's one of the real dudes. He's got real submission former internet intercontinental champ. That's right. And the ad one of my favorite moves called the hurricane auto. Yep. Yep. And you know, what you could argue that a lot of people probably among my generation that got drawn to again MA show. Circling back may. Kind of got drawn to the Tito Ortiz and shamrock trilogy. Let's be honest. They were drubbings the what was what was having people by was Tito Ortiz doing his thing. Of course, take away from him. But also shamrock bringing his people stone cold actually edge number seven edge entering to the crowd. I don't know why I really loved it. I had ever followed his character didn't really like where it went. And I think they made him get on the Royds. But I liked when he was just like a slim dude entering through. The crowd was sleek. He'd spear people. It was better than Goldberg speier and Goldberg was the guy getting all the credit for it. So edge stone cold I came with that air. How can you not like a guy who's sending a positive message to children by stone? Call talking himself in the third person drinking and any getting behind the wheels of cars, I can get behind that guy the rock. That's what. Yeah. That's what he did. No. He would say. The rock. Of course, you know, rocky my via, you know, we didn't know what was he Samoan? What does he Hawaiian? What what does he what it didn't matter? He was just awesome. I think he captivated a lot of people Kane. I mean, I can't. The seven foot giants when they would you know, undertaker I feel like he's went from like six nine six ten they jumped up to seven foot when Kane made us thing. Then after that air came about that now, I think undertakes back down to sixteen or something. I don't know where he stands, but it was cool to see a guy that didn't talk being there for live for one of his entrances and feeling the flames like that was cool. And then when he did talk it was like job is my lover or whatever he would say with him in pallbearer, right? I think I think he was his name was Glenn Jacobs. And I think he played basketball to universities. They're gonna see is again, Cam and. If I'm not mistaken call. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. You're right. You're you're right, sir. Number three, Mick Foley. Of course, you know, all his characters that's kind of one where I will say take one guy number two. The first pro ever got involved with shouts amount. Go Paul who got me into it. You know, babysitting me it was his birthday yesterday. Ted Diaz the original. Maybe that's right him. And hacksaw Jim Duggan. We're we're we're we're buck in for that spot, but I gave it to Ted. And of course, number one, a yo razor Ramon the best. One of the best has lies ladder match summer, slam ninety four Shawn Michaels to his his drunk limousine entrance to fight Goldberg WCW that that did was the man. Okay. All right. Let me read Marcel Marcel from Houston. He mailed me his. Great that I just had her here. Ready to go. Do you want me to buy some time with another listener? Let's yeah. "But yeah, I think that for a lot of the guys when they remember, here's what they remember, Ted Diaz remembers his dad being gone, right? And I think that with Qodian and those guys, they remember dream being gone. Remember their dad, not being there, maybe that's what fuels that AB. I don't wanna go have that lifestyle. Then once you get a taste of it. Stuff to shake. So chat me up a little bit here. I wanna talk about the pressure that a second generation guy like that must feel when he comes in the business. I mean, especially in Puerto Rico, and we've seen this, you know, different approaches, I should say, you see, like, for instance, David flair and then Charlotte flare. So there's two different approaches, but they're still very much embracing the legacy and participating in. And then there's the broad Christopher, Jerry Lawler routine. And the reason I bring that up is because I do feel like it's a similar situation where Jerry Lawler has been so stabbed in his own promotion, and then you know, for other folks, but he is the man in Memphis, probably much like Cologne was the man in Puerto Rico. Carlito's gone on record saying he felt a ton of pressure to sort of meet or beat the accomplishments of his father. How big of a deal is that? I mean, obviously changes everything, but does it help you? Does it hurt you? What's your take? Well, I think he got big shoes to fill nothing that those, here's the difference to Carlos was a promoter. He owned the company importer Rico. So he was just it's top star. He was the promote odor. He was the boss. He was the guy that ran everything you look for its Eric. It was the same situation, Dallas Fritz was also the promoters wells being the top draw. The big attraction there. So it's a little. It's a little different. But at the same time, those guys had even more pressure on them because people looked to Carlos and they looked at the Cologne family is being a part of their. So what is boys was like, man, that was that was everybody else's boys to with Fritz and the kids that they were everybody sums everybody considered Kevin and Kerry, and David, all those guys who just wanted their family because they grew up with them. So there's even more pressure is the son, not just a professional wrestler, but of promoter the motor son. Now, who is family grown up in front of everybody and now not only is there pressure from the promoter. There's pressure from the public and everywhere you go, people know who you are and are expecting big things from you. Well, people were expecting big things from Carlito, but demanded happen January two thousand. He became the youngest man to ever win the WWE title defeated. Reagan Zola's later that year he wrestled American legends like Mr.. Perfect. And the one man gang, did you ever have conversations about his early run with Carlito back when he was I saw cutting his teeth. I mean, he's wrestling almost like a who's who, you know, Sabbath and vampire, oh, and eighty. Guerrero and Conan, and Tommy dreamer. There's tons of opportunities here for him to really work with some big names, which is a luxury not often afforded to young guy right in the one batch that I saw when I was over, there was Carly and Mr.. Perfect. I happen to be happened to be in Puerto Rico for for another show. The w. c. show. I saw during the day and made phone call to Kurt heading that day because I knew the Kurt was in the country. It's time around the island us, and, hey, man. Once you come on by my hotel, let's have a drink tonight. So Kirk came by, I wanna say that he, I think he had David Sierra with him who's another good guy. Cuban assassin today l. Castro was name, but they came by and I asked her then tell me about this. Carly Cologne, and Kurt could say enough great things about him. So that's when that phone call. Was made Jerry Briscoe today. Carlos on the phone. That's make a deal. He just had, you know, he had a great look and unbelievable firemen and and just he was magic in the ring to me.
