The 10 Most Important Races in 2022

"Master dot com, Joe day dot com, team Herschel dot com, Ted bud dot com, Morse the number four Senate dot com, Adam laxalt dot com. JD Vance dot com, Doctor Oz dot com, smiley for Senate dot com, Ron Johnson for Senate dot com. That's not order of importance. That's the order of the states. Blake masters in Arizona, Joe Dan, Colorado, Herschel Walker, and Georgia, Ted bud in North Carolina, I think, oh, got that wrong. It's then C, but NH I was using the abbreviations. Chuck Morris in New Hampshire, Adam laxalt and Nevada, JD vents and Ohio, Doctor Oz and Pennsylvania, Tiffany smiley and Washington state and Ron Johnson in Wisconsin. That's the key. Those ten races. And I hope Peter jail gives them all Peter Thiel gives a $100 million to each of those races. Sets up an independent expenditure committee. If you're listening, Peter, I'm just saying, give a $1 billion away and win the country. It matters. It matters. We got to stop these crazy judges. Yes, we got to fix tax policy. We can fix that. We're going to have the House of Representatives in any event. And great candidates winning all across the United States last night. Republicans low end, they're going to pick up ten high end. They could pick up 40. Depends on how badly Joe Biden screws up and what happens with inflation. And right now, the misery index, I think it's baked in. The house is one. Democrats are giving up the retiring in droves. They're running away. And they should. Because redistricting plus the misery index means a Republican wave in the house.

The State of the Right After Tuesday's Elections

"I wanted to cover two things with you. One, I've got a column over at The Washington Post that looks at Republicans interested in 2024 when I come back to that, but based on last night's election results. We got a dead heat in Pennsylvania. We won't know for a day who wins. Madison Cawthorn is out, Ted bud is in, et cetera, et cetera. What is the state of the right judging by last night's results? Well, I think broadly the right is still motivated by a lot of populist energy. It's still broadly supportive of president Trump and his agenda, the Trump endorsement matters, but it might not matter all that much, and I also think we can say that the rate is definitely energized about the coming midterm election and has a real advantage in enthusiasm.

"Week Check them out Lin the plumber You're with WTO 19 lane Three 21 Campaign 2022 on WTO fee this morning we're watching primary elections in 5 different states at a controversial freshman Republican congressman from North Carolina is out this morning Madison Cawthorn has been defeated by state senator chuck Edwards Joining us live now on Skype this early morning is Ken routin host of the political junkie podcast Ken has also covered politics with ABC News and NPR in previous years Ken good morning Good morning dean All right let's go to the top thing Cawthorn is one of the big ones this morning legal trouble he had and that GOP leaders are glad to see him gone they say is an understatement probably So what's with all this some of the Republicans they have like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul gosar and Matt Gaetz all of them who have been causing the Republican leadership problems but Madison Cawthorn was just a different kind of animal I mean the things he said the innuendos about cocaine and orgies and he basically embarrassed the Republican leadership It just seems to be one thing after another Yeah no absolutely And so even though he's a Republican even though he was once seen as a rising star in the party and he certainly was in 2020 when he was first elected the Republicans couldn't wait to get rid of him and they did tonight Now Donald Trump can claim a big win in North Carolina in the Senate race as Republican candidate Ted bud has won but will face an African American candidate cherry Beasley for over a chief justice of North Carolina to UC academy here with a really advantage Well I do It seems like North Carolina has been trending Republican for the last couple of times I think the last three presidential elections the Republicans have taken the state Donald Trump wanted twice in Mitt Romney wanted and basically it's interesting Ted Budd nobody ever heard of him until Donald Trump endorsed him out of nowhere it seemed last June and he just you know he just took off He defeated a popular former governor in the primary and he refused to attend any debate He just basically said that I am Donald Trump's candidate And in North Carolina that seemed to work Now the marquee race of the morning of course too close to call still Doctor Oz versus Dave McCormick and Pennsylvania's Republican Senate race is this a contest you think between an establishment Republican and a president Trump backed celebrity TV doctor Dean I think you defined it perfectly because David McCormick was exactly that He was backed by the establishment He's a former hedge fund CEO and he was supported by a lot of establishment Republicans Doctor Oz never showed any indication that he was conservative let alone Republican and yet you know how Donald Trump loves a celebrities So he endorsed them a while and suddenly you know I mean you could say that Donald Trump was the wizard for Oz because us took off in the polls and right now it's dead even and it'll probably go into a runoff So I mean to a recount so I don't think we're going to get an answer tonight on who won but the fact is that Trump's endorsement had to have helped met Oz whether it helps in November that's another story altogether Well it's 5 states now holding primaries last night and this morning we can't cover everything final thoughts from you Well you know something I mean it seems like once upon a time candidates like to run in the middle and voters like candidates in the middle but when you think of when you think of John fetterman it was a left of center It certainly left the center Democrat in Pennsylvania when you have Premier.

"Your free estimate today Campaign 2022 on WTO a lot of attention tonight on what's likely the most competitive primary in the country the race for the Republican Senate nomination in Pennsylvania For a look at that race and much more were joined tonight by WTO's Capitol Hill correspondent Mitchell Miller and first we have a winner in the democratic race for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania Mitch That's right some breaking news tonight lieutenant governor John fetterman has won the democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate race And this is while he's watching the returns from a hospital in Lancaster Pennsylvania after suffering that minor stroke and then getting a pacemaker today still he handily defeated congressman Connor lam who many thought might be the democratic nominee but federman ran a very strong race This is the race to fill the seat of retiring Republican senator pat toomey and there are a lot of eyes on Republicans tonight This is of course on the Senate Republican nominee side with mehmet Oz known as Doctor Oz as well as the former hedge fund CEO Dave McCormick and conservative commentator Kathy Barnett Now Doctor Oz of course has the endorsement of former president Trump so this will be a key test of his continuing political influence very early returns show McCormick with a slight lead over Doctor Oz and Barnett but this is only with less than 10% of the vote in So we'll have to watch this very very closely tonight Everybody looking at this big GOP race in Pennsylvania And turning to North Carolina we already know who will be the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate there That's right Michelle North Carolina is produced a clear win on the Republican side for congressman Ted bud And that's a big win for former president Trump and his supporters Donald Trump had endorsed Ted bud early and while he had kind of a slow start in this campaign according to the polling he won handily tonight cruising past former North Carolina governor pat mcgrory He will face Democrat sherry Beasley who is the former chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court in the race and this is for the seat for retiring senator Richard burr a Republican And also in North Carolina we have a unique situation going on where a Republican is stepped the Republican establishment hopes a GOP congressman will lose That's right This is a really interesting situation This is the race involving Republican Madison Cawthorn that 26 years old he's the youngest member in the U.S. Congress He was initially a favorite of Donald Trump but he's alienated the Republican establishment with a lot of frankly self inflicted wounds He had speeding tickets He carried a loaded gun into an airport a bizarre nude video surfaced and then there were allegations he made against fellow GOP lawmakers suggesting they were involved in orgies and drug parties He got called in on the carpet by the House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy all of this in total as combined to make it a very tough reelection for Cawthorn who trails state senator chuck Edwards Edwards has been endorsed by the current U.S. senator from North Carolina Tom tillis And this is all for the state for the congressional seat that was once held by Mark Meadows who of course went on to become former president Trump's chief of staff And thanks so much Mitch You bet That is WTO's Capitol Hill correspondent Mitchell Miller And stay with WTO and WTO dot com as we continue to bring you primary results from 5 states Up ahead here on WTO P the January 6th committee so far saying no to a request from the Justice Department 9 14 the following is a paid commercial message This is bishop Michael burbidge of the Catholic diocese of Arlington throughout the gospels Jesus is approached by people who in faith ask for healing.

Amber Athey: Same Story if Trump-Endorsed Candidates Win or Lose

"Primary elections huge Of course amber they want to make everything about Trump but I mean he does it get involved in this cycle He doesn't make it about himself but he chooses Some candidates who run for office and win George W. Bush He kind of stays out generally of the process He's done a few events for camp but he isn't like really dig in Donald Trump said you know what I'm not done man I'm jumping in and I'll endorse who I want when I won You know what Good for him But there's a lot on the line for him He threw a lot of his weight behind mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania And that's not just it You got Madison Cawthorn in a really hot congressional race in North Carolina will know about today and Ted Budd in the Senate race in North Carolina too So yeah these candidates have a lot on the line but a lot for Trump for Trump too Definitely And there's always this narrative that emerges after a Trump endorsed race finishes up and if he happens to have that candidate lose all of a sudden it's proof that Trump has lost his power and the Republican Party and he's not the kingmaker anymore But if you win then you get the opposite article that's talking about how the GOP is a bunch of Trump cultists So it's really impossible for him to win Even if he wins he loses In this case It's so wrong I'm really curious about the Pennsylvania race because this candidate Cathy Barnett has had a really late surge in the polls and is apparently neck and neck with Doctor Oz and Dave McCormick So I think that's the one to watch I have a couple of friends down in North Carolina right now working with Ted bud and it looks like he's going to just run away with this thing So I'll give you my eyes on Pennsylvania right now for sure

"No one can steal that from you. That is your property. And that feels to me a very American idea of you as the individual having rights. Right. We don't have a constitution in the UK. I'm always referring to it on the show. Very much envy your First Amendment rights. Second Amendment, I'm on the fence, but I'm not anti gun. It's just, we don't have a gun culture in the UK. And as I've been exposed to other parts of constitution, I've been just envy the fact that you have this. You have this to refer back to. And Bitcoin feels like one of those things that feels just like a very American idea. But conversely, knowing what the federal government is like and everything we learn from Snowden with the NSA and the control of the financial system from central government, it also feels like something that the government would be very against. At the moment, where scientists see a number of people either within the Senate or the House, correct me if I get anything wrong. But then the Senate or the House or people like yourself, Erica rose who are running, that are starting to become pro Bitcoin. Do you think this is a reaction to people like yourselves just responded to constituents? Do you think this is a reaction to the problems within central government? Why do you think this is happening? Because it was following these debates via Twitter, but just seeing some clashes over this industry. And you think it's accelerated the interest over the last couple of years? Where would you put that? I would say even the last year, Jeremy, it feels a bit more. About the last year, it feels a bit more. We're starting to see bigger names. Who was it? Yes, they did Ted bud. Zip Ted bud, was talking very pro Bitcoin saying we wouldn't want this industry to go anywhere else. We have a sense of lumber. Wyoming. Congressman born Davison is pro Bitcoin. We have, I mean, there's loads. Yeah. Well, I mean, one theory, speculation, I suppose. But the pandemic..

"As you know, you're all in a number of places where you're giving guidance. I will say this, Charlie, you know, that's a real race. You got a sitting member of the Senate who ought to act more like Kristen sinema and then he is himself. And so if he would, if he would look in the mirror and see her reflection, he'd have a better shot at that, but that's gonna be on all our probably one of the more expensive races. But again, fairly bullish on that. Now the question is on defense. Where do we have to be? We have to keep Ron Johnson, hopefully he announces that he's going to run again in Wisconsin. He's very popular. Wisconsin. Yeah. He is and listen, why is he popular? Because exactly like you talked about. He has the interest of the people of Wisconsin and he brings those to D.C. and he doesn't allow D.C. to infect him. And I use the word in fact, purposefully there. And so as we look at that and then Pennsylvania is going to be the tough one. Bluntly, we should have not had a big problem there. It shouldn't even be close. I think that we have to make sure on election integrity issues that we continue to fight those issues. Pennsylvania being one of those where it's critical. And so it depends on who the candidate is there and how they win and then in my old home state of North Carolina. Ted bud and presidents endorsed him. I think he will be the next senator from from the tar heel state. But we've got to play defense and Matt doesn't look good, but at the same time, I think that we could end up with a one seat majority and take Chuck Schumer's voice away from it. Yeah, and I think Adam laxalt could win in Nevada but boy, that's a difficult state. What he is now, I'm gonna be out and about, I'm glad you mentioned that. And so I'm going to be out in Nevada here in a week or two because one of the great opportunities I think we have with Nevada is to actually turn the entire state from blue to red. And Adam's running a good campaign. You got some other candidates running for other offices there. I'm going to be out there. But it comes down to four counties in Nevada. Yeah. And so we are counting everything. And so we're going to work those and in my personal capacity going to be working with some of the political operatives out there to make sure that we can plow the feel and make it a little easier easier way. Yeah, there's some interesting races that the New Hampshire one opens the map. It'll force them to spend another 50 to a $100 million. I think Marco Rubio will be fine in Florida regardless of things Val demings or whatever. I think he'll be more than fine. Parnell in Pennsylvania is going to be and that that primaries would be tough. I've endorsed Parnell. Ohio, we should be comfortable, though, despite a pretty good candidate on their side, we endorsed JD Vance, but whoever it is, it's going to be fine. I think that race is solid. Ohio has become a deep red state. I agree. So I agree with you with Florida and Ohio, both of those look really strong and we've got strong candidates. Val demings is not to be overlooked. She is tough. I served with her in Congress. She's a tough candidate, but Marco will do just fine. You're willingness to get involved and speak out about these individuals is certainly critical. And it brings an extra dose of energy that is out there. And so again, I'm kind of putting Florida in Ohio in those wind columns pretty easily. And hopefully we'll add to those. I want you to imagine a 100,000 Americans losing their jobs. You can stop imagining because it's a reality. Why? Since 2015, over 100,000 independent farms and ranches in the United States have been shut down. Why? Because foreign meat is stealing their businesses and robbing you of the quality and flavor you deserve. That's why good ranchers is here. They exist to support local American farms to help you make great American meals, together they want to restore the American ranch in your meals.

"Me about representative. Mike walker lashing out at club for growth suggesting that trump was misled into endorsing ted bud in the north carolina. Senate race. Well you know this is part of their two parts of this but the one of the parts of this is it's part of genre of trump's never wrong he's only misled and of course in north carolina in the senate race there Rich and birds retiring until you have mark walker ted bud and former governor governor pathak rory trump endorsed early and really without warning. He everybody thought he was gonna take time. Once his daughter-in-law laura trump decided not to run quickly doors representative head but mark walker. Who had been. Tomorrow i'll go asking for trump's support as they all go there and ask for trump support was upset and when i spoke to him on friday. He blamed mark meadows former. North carolina congressman. Turn from white house chief of staff and said he wanted to pay back over a congressional endorsement in the congressional seats in that meadows had vacated now the other part of this is the club the club for growth i consider sort of greybeard of rabble-rousing dc advocacy groups And they have been endorsing and republican primaries. They tend to to endorse republican primaries. Where there's no way. The republican nominee can lose the general election in the texas race. They endorsed susan. Wright the widow of the deceased congress men. And it's jake l. d. Who won and so you know every once in a while. One of trump's endorsement falter and extra comfort growth also has a pretty good record. But you know walker. Accuse them of venus outside. Dc group bundling and dumping a bunch of money into local politics. And i think he's trying to use what happened in texas. And i can't blame him. 'cause you're always looking for something to say that. Look this outsider group meddled in a local ray. They're meddling in our local ace. "I'm well, thank you for asking What's on your mind? Okay. You would ask the question. What should trump conceived? No, Never. Should fight to the end, and I believe that it's also not just about trump anymore. It's about the future of our country. And that we have to pray and believe to the very end. We know this election was stolen. And we believe in the end that Trump will come out on top, and he'll be our president again. She looked. You know, I've been trying to analyze all of this over the past couple of weeks, and the conservative pundits are now turning on this president and they're doing so because they're being Controlled by the establishment Republicans. They're terrified because they don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. Sheila In the past, Republicans have capitulated. They've always thrown in the towel. They've waved the white flag in the face of controversy. They've never put up a fight. But Donald Trump has shown a good many of these Republicans what it means to fight and they don't know they don't know what to do. And that's what's so fascinating about this is watching, watching how terrified they are, because they don't know and they know they can't control people like the Ted Cruz is and the Josh Holly's of the world. You are so right. You know, there's no neutral ground either. Very Therefore God or you're for the devil. And you are right. They always spoke. I don't know why they do. But they do. I have contacted our ministers from cotton. Asked, and I was hoping and praying that he would change his mind. And obviously he has not. And that makes me very sad because I think you should support our president. Our president fight for, uh, And he will continue to fight for us, and that's why I Donald John Trump. Mike Pence will be re elected. Well, Sheila, I look, I'm with you on that, and I didn't mean to pick on Tom Cotton yesterday. But I know we have a lot of listeners in Arkansas. And there's no reason why he should not. Dress the voters in the state of Arkansas. I think you guys, you know, I don't deserve it. I don't deserve an answer. But you do, Sheila because you're a voter. You live in Arkansas. You pay your taxes and Arkansas this man represents you. And you people in Mississippi. You ought to be. You want to be knocking down the doors of the district offices of Cindy Hide Smith and your other guy Wicker Roger Wicker. Your senators. They don't even have the courage to put out a statement saying which way they're going to vote. And that's just absolutely shameful behavior that is cowardice. Cowardice and we've got to call it out. Sheila. Thank you for the call. And thank you for listening to the program Real quick. Let's go to Ronnie. Hi, Ronnie. We got about 90. Seconds here. What's on your mind? All we lost. We lost, Ronnie boy. Get back. We'll get back to him after the other top of the hour break. Don't worry about that. Hey, folks, We do have a lot going on here. We're gonna be checking in with a caravan on their way from Mississippi to Washington D c. We're going to. We're going to get the latest on tomorrow's big rally. So we've got the election and Georgia going on. We've got a Kamila Harris story We're going to tell you about in the next hour. Apparently, she's got a job. Biden problem. Remember when Biden used to plagiarize? Yeah, we're gonna Well, we're going to talk about that Communist got a problem. Big problem. Also, we're going to. We're going to be talking to Congressman Ted Bud to get the latest on tomorrow's big day up on Capitol Hill as we stand up and fight back against these Democrats, But I'm telling you, that's what it's really all about here. These people are terrified. Washington establishment is terrified because they realize wait a second. We can't control the House Freedom Caucus anymore. We can't control all of these senators. We can't control Marsha Blackburn. We can't control Ted Cruz or or Josh Holly or Bill Haggerty. And they're terrified. They don't know what to do. They do not know what to do. And it's a beautiful thing. You know why? Because people are standing up and they're defending our president. That's what this is all about Their standing up and they're defending freedom. And I'm telling you what happens tonight in Georgia. Folks. We could wake up and have a very, very dark winter as Joe Biden said, Or or we could have that line in the sand. That line in the sand, and the Republicans in the Senate could.

"So here's my thing. We all saw what happened to members well to some of your colleagues, including Mark Walker was down there, too. Where some lunatic some Bernie Bro decided he was going to go shoot up a congressional baseball game. We have people like Nancy Pelosi, saying We won't rule out any quivers or any arrows in the quiver up to and including impeachment. We have open ended Blumenthal quotes like, hey, whatever you have to do, do it. I I'm really concerned that some lunatics hears this and goes. Yeah. You know what if there was a 53? If I get one, That's 52. It's a start. And same for you guys. I mean, what? What? What are your thoughts on this? And and how do you deal with that concern up there? We've got great mechanisms in place. Sergeant of arms Capitol Police, DC police, even though they're trying to be funded by the radical left. We have great trust in our first responders and law enforcement. He also just want to be wise like it's probably not the place to sit out on the sidewalk, you know, wearing member spin on a giant American flag jacket or something. You know your Howard double Jack now today for it. But you be you'd be Loki. You get your work done. You serve the people that that you represent back home, and you go about your business. And you know you watch your back, but you don't cower to the crazy left. But D C is already crazy. I think you know we were talking a little while ago. 94% of the people in Washington, D. C. Voted for Hillary in 2016. You wouldn't talk about a city that's already left us. I mean, that's the concentration of government right there. And so to see the mob they're flooding into Washington. Oh, testing. The people that are already in Washington is just shows how destructive the radical left already is. Do you think they're gonna have their gonna have the entirety of that town filled up over the skins work thing? I'm firmly convinced and and that's not to speak to what will happen in various municipalities. And the problem is, people may not know what Ted Bud look walking down the street. Looks like they know what a Jim Jordan looks like, mostly because he walks 1000 miles an hour. But you know, just do too. The amount of air time that members of Congress get. There's a lot of you and there are people you know who who know what you look like because they make it their point If you catch what I'm saying. Teo harass you guys. And it went from D. C is weird where I enjoyed going up there and you and I, You and I were up there talking during my radio row a few years ago, and there's a guy walking around dressed as a condom. Okay? I find that amusing. I composed a picture. I don't find amusing where we're going, the direction that we're going with these protesters that are running around Georgetown, screaming with bull horns of people drinking their beer and threatening to kill him. Those aren't the cute, adorable ones anymore. These people mean business, and they're much more dangerous. I think American people all across the country, Um, in cities, this is what this is is. You're not seeing the majority of people turn out. You're seeing a concentration of crazy turnout. And even those who were what we wish. There were more liberals involved here. These air, not liberals, as liberals have traditionally been. These are radical, progressive left, and this is the ultimate conclusion of where the Democratic Party has been going. And I think people that are The formerly in the remaining moderate Democrats and all Republicans were going. This is crazy of the inner cities that have been under democratic policies that have destroyed the inner cities for the last 60 years. Ah, quite black, Hispanic male female. I think they're all going I'm done. I see Maur African American engagement in the Republican Party that I've ever seen in my lifetime. Right? This is this is an exciting opportunity. I don't like what I'm seeing from the radical progressive left. I don't think anybody know, correct mind does What it's doing is showing how nuts they are and how repulsive it is and how we want our country back, and I think we're seeing some reasonable remaining reasonable in the Democratic Party and all the Republicans are going to turn out against. The radical left Progressive Party. I don't I don't know how someone I know, said Democratic members of Congress. Ah, Collin Peterson is good example because I used to work in Minnesota and so I get a chance to talk to him. That's a guy who, frankly, I'm surprised he doesn't run as a Republican really with his policies in northern Minnesota there, but Guys like that have to sit there and go, You know, look at some of their their their more recent colleagues, and they don't really say anything. They just, you know, kind of go with the flow there, and maybe that's the problem. The shift of the center of gravity shifted with the squad coming in 2018, and that's when people stayed on that trump voters in 2016. They stayed home and 18 and allow this Collin Peterson, a Democrat. Minnesota Wass his. He's one of those 30 number. The numbers I gave 17 36. Yes, he's one of those 30 seats. That was one about Trump. And in 2016, But people knew him precedent is ah, Chair of AG Committee. I believe reasonable Democrat member of Been there a long time. That's the iron range up there. So yeah, Peterson's in a world of hurt up there, But if everyone acted like a Peterson, then you know, I think the world would be a AH, better place from that side of the aisle. Unfortunately, going in a different direction. All right. Well, thank you very much appreciated congressmen, and we'll talk soon, okay? Thank you case. You have a great Yeah, you two. "In how entrepreneurs and startups are able to raise capital as the rest of the world. Speeds ahead to take advantage of this new technology. The US is now lagging behind heavily due to regulatory certainty issues that the market needs to protect consumers in power innovators. In entrepreneurs, my colleagues and I- including Josh got Heimer Tulsi Gabbard, Ted, bud and. In others that aren't on the committee Darren Soto and Scott Perry introduced a Bill yesterday that would provide regulatory certainty the US needs to take advantage of thriving sector. Mr solomon. I'm gonna read an expert from an article that recently caught my attention, quote, Goldman Sachs plan to establish a crypto focused unit by the end of two thousand eighteen. As reported by Bloomberg in December last year, however on September fifth business insider reported that unnamed sources said the firm is scrapping crypto trading desk plans due to in unclear regulatory environment in the crypto industry. Mr solomon. Why did Goldman Sachs initially choose to open a trading crypto trading desk. The first article wasn't correct like others were watching and exploring and doing work to terms of try to understand the crypto currency market is develops. We have some clients that have certain functionality that we've engaged with the mon- clearing, physical futures. But other than that, we never had plans to open a crypto currency trading desk, we might at some point in time. But there's no question when you're dealing with crypto currency. It's a new area or a lot of issues. It is unclear from a regulatory perspective, and it's not clear, whether or not, you know, in the long run as a currency, those technologies are going to work and be viable, clearly, and certainly some of those tokens that are issued or. Waiting definition as to what will be security. What is not as security? What's the appropriate trading platform? There are a number of issues that are Bill goes into. And frankly, even things that will be needed to address afterward mR diamond in two thousand seventeen you called crypto currencies, quote, not a real thing. But this your your firm unveiled J P PM coin instated, quote, we are supportive of crypto currencies as long as they are properly controlled and regulated why the shift the blockchain Israel technology, a lot of people using the test today, and we think it will work overtime. Part is not real crypto currencies not supported by anything. There's no value behind it. Other than with the next personal pay for it. And they have serious issues about that. Did Jacob organ coin is a token, which is supported by deposit at Jp Morgan. We're going to be shipped around the world real time. It can go with a lot of dead on it. You could split it into pieces and the second one one's cash we can move the cash to. So the settlements will happen almost instantaneously, and there will be a blockchain distributed ledger, and how will that facilitate better payment systems, if it works correctly the payment system today by they do work in the very cheap. But the fact is this might be a fast way, you can be faster. It comes with data and everyone have the same dad at the same time. So instead of MacAulay chose banks of the same shipment from Singapore. We just go to the same screen and see you right away because of the nature of the blockchain inherently more transparent. It's got to be secure. And it's got to be in this case permission. Not everyone access it because we need real security around things like movement of money. Thank you very much. Now, we can talk about thrive in new sector without discussing how to protect consumers as your role as banks of all secure custody of digital assets is essential. However there there's no regulation or guideline on who can be a qualified. Custodian for digital assets, Mr. schwarzen-, looking at your policy regarding currency on your website being y Mellon states sites lack of regulatory clarity as a barrier to providing custody for digital assets. Can you expand on the statement and highlight any other regulatory hurdles you're facing in the space? Sure, I think just as the website says there is lack of clarity. And I think that's one thing that stands in the way, quite honestly, it's something that it's crypto currencies are very early in their existence. They're not significant today to speak of in terms of being used as a real currency to move value. And so we're actively thinking about what we want to do one of the biggest issues that we have relates to anti money laundering and KYC. Thank you my time's expired now you. Thank you very much the gentlemen Guam. Mr. San Nicolas is recognized for five minutes. Thank you. Madam chair. Democrat might say nNcholas of Juan asking questions to serious financial services committee now and wages at Bank of America are going to be going up to twenty dollars an hour. But it was disheartening. And the fact that none of your enterprises do business on Guang. None of your enterprises. In fact, really do business in any of our territories in terms of business that actually employ people in our in our districts, and I kind of wanted to put that on the record because there's a serious disconnect in this country when it comes to job creation, and that disconnect is impacting not only my district and not only. Territories. But a lot of rule America. If we referenced the chart that's put up there. You'll see that. Post financial crisis, non metropolitan areas have not recovered their job markets. They're still about two points below the norm. While metropolitan areas are eight points above where we were in the recession and a lot of this has to do with the fact that the job creation is happening. Whether it's just a lot of economic activity, but part of it also is a fact that the access to credit in these areas is just a lot more pronounced a lot of your firms are more concentrated in the metropolitan areas. In fact, twenty seven percent of the country has two or fewer banks. And so this is not just a territorial issue in indefinitely. Not just a democrat issue. It's a bipartisan issue, in fact, my friends in the Colorado third the North Carolina tenth the Oklahoma third. Tennessee, eight Texas v the Wisconsin seventh are mostly rural areas. And so I wanted to to preface my question to this panel by by raising all of those points and by posing a question of respect to some fiscal policy considerations that I've been working on. When the fed chairman was your I inquired as to whether or not he would be open to. Evolving interest rate policy, which currently is is blanket across the board for all financial institutions, and whether or not he would consider bifurcating interest rate policy between metropolitan and non metropolitan areas. And the reason why that would be a good thing is if we keep interest rates low and non metropolitan areas, we'd have cheaper credit. We'd have more money in the pockets of consumers, and we would be able to grow jobs there while the metropolitan areas, if we had a different interest rate policy, we would be able to combat inflation because the population densities in those areas. So I wanted to ask the panel if you would be open to exploring the idea of evolving interest rate policy to bifurcated between metropolitan and non metropolitan areas. And if we can just do it on. Open to exploring. To be honest. It wouldn't work. I think it creates all sorts of Alba charge of people moving businesses in of those communities. I think I would do it through if you wanted to Texan other reforms to rebalance. A degree that I think. Explore anything any idea? Good idea. We just got to figure it out. But I think if you really want to do some quickly, I think through incentives notice things, which is what my colleague spoke about you can accomplish faster without the worry about the just off the top of my head without the corresponding worry about how it would have impact since James. Of course, we would explore it. But I think there's more direct ways to get it. The issue. I would explore it, and I would explore the other alternatives as well. I absolutely sport. I think it's great that you're raising it because it's a real issue and something that I think needs needs focus, but I agree with my colleagues that I think the suggestion is tough. And I'd look at other means to try to address an issue that's real that you're approaching. I thank you for your feedback. The fed has two mandates job creation and fighting inflation and it uses interest rates. It's primary tool to do that. And when we have the fed raising interest rates nine times since the financial crisis law, non metropolitan areas continued to be in a position where they're not recovering their job markets. It just underscores the fact that you know, we're under serving segments of our community, and we're choking off their economic opportunities because we're not looking at them, and we're not treating them the way we should be taking everything into consideration. But I do appreciate everyone's feedback. I look forward to working with you and trying to flesh out this kind of a policy, and maybe we can create different kinds of thresholds to be able to address the lack of job growth. The non metropolitan areas. Thank you Madam chair back. Thank you, gentlemen, from North Carolina. Mr. bud is recognized for five minutes. Within the House Financial.
