Alibaba Share Fall Under Regulatory Pressure

"Alibaba shares falling today. After the company's web browser was pulled from app stores and china the move follows comments from chinese president. Xi jinping calling for increased scrutiny on big tech she sang regulators. Need to fill in gaps and loopholes when it comes to chinese tech companies dan. You're saying that one of the worst looking charts and the market is of h chinese tech company. And it's alibaba. I mean the news flow has been downright horrible for months now the stock has been very volatile If you look at it right here down from i think about two seventy five to just about two twenty six to twenty seven right here sitting right on a massive technical support. Look at that chart. It's a massive head and shoulders formation. Here really has to hold here. The news flow has gone from bad to worse. I'll leave that For tim but it seems like the chinese government is seriously looking to clamp down on this company and some of their entities. And i just think you want to be careful below those recent lows below two twenty. I get that really clamping down a harshly would be cutting off your nose to spite your face in way because these are these are national champion companies. Tim at the at the same time. They are requiring alibaba to do things like divest. Some of its businesses like ant financial that could really transform these businesses. And how they're valued. Yeah i actually more worried about this I you know alibaba media assets including what they hold in some american companies like twitter. But also billy billy which is a online video gaming platform it's a forty billion dollar company mean. The these are part of the nuggets of value. That i i actually like in owning alibaba so i'm not surprised that the regulator actually needs to do their job. I'm not surprised that they're they're doing. They're they're slapping on the risk. Call it the companies that have been front running the government. But it's the entire china tech sector. That's under pressure and the irony of this is is that this. Is you know where we were fighting. Many of our kind of geopolitical wars over the last couple years with china really control the internet called the next wave of technology companies which china wants to put them out there. I i don't run to the door at these levels. I gotta tell you to twenty very big support on bobbled

Virginia voter registration extended after website crash

"Election. 2020 Virginia voters got an extra day this year to register to vote. Sabrina Marino of the Richmond Times. Dispatch joins us on this story, Sabrina Marino explained what happened yesterday that led to today's extension. Yeah. So you know, yesterday with the whirlwind, as with everything nowadays, it kind of started with the tweets. And so yesterday morning, the Virginia Department of Elections posted that Horizon Cable was cut near the headquarters of an agency that you know, provided technical support for various states. Entities, you know, including the Virginia Department of Health and Virginia Employment Commission and, of course, the Virginia Department of Elections. So, basically the elections website crashed, which meant that on the last day for Jenny residents coded register to vote, they couldn't online for several hours and then also impacted. Early in person voting with Freddie Starr's offices statewide, you know, fighting that they couldn't access the full books or verify voter eligibility, and even though it was prepared by 3 30 called it already mounted to extended registration deadline, which is something that the governor did not have the authority to do and said So in his briefing, and then hours later, a lawsuit was filed. How is that cable cut? So there was a roadside utilities project in Chesterfield County, and, you know, they released a statement kind of thing that it was quote. Inadvertently struck and there's not more information other than not, and they're saying it was an accident. And that roadside utilities project is a super installation. And that happened in the early morning yesterday and that part of you been in the works since May. And it was right next to the headquarters of the major agency. That kind of is the you know, the technical support for for a lot of state agencies. So their website crashed. You mentioned the governor's involvement here. How hard is it to change a voter registration deadline in the Old Dominion? So from what I've done will be gathered. It's pretty difficult and you know, they're the governor's legal counsel, said yesterday in the briefing that they don't have the authority to just change the registration deadline that is in, you know in the state coat and that on DH You know they were talking about how that is kind of litigation. It takes the courts and they couldn't violet themselves. They sighted legal procedures for that, and So it takes litigation where it takes the General Assembly and so happened back in 2016. There was a computer glitch right before the 2016 election also occurred. You know, in October and there was There's a lawsuit filed again and back then Virginians were given a 36 hour extension to register. But back then it was, you know, a plaintiff has to file the lost two and both times the lawyers Committee for Civil Rights under law was the person who filed it on behalf of you know, advocacy groups and people who kind of register to vote. Is there any way of finding out who tried to register yesterday and couldn't and to reach out to them or what's being done to let them know about the extension through tomorrow? Yeah, so right now we do not have You know specific numbers of how many people weren't able to vote. But the lawsuit was filed with the intent to explain how this is out of voters of control and that the website crashing impacted thousands of voters with a disproportionate impact on black, indigenous and Latino people. And so part of the lawsuit Also included that Register's office. State officials had to issue press releases by 11:38 A.m. this morning, you know, kind of for local writer Sharp to be notified of this order. And so that was also a part of what the federal judge ruled today was, you know? Yes, we're extending the deadline and Virginia 11 59 on Thursday, but You also have to issue project leases. And so that was a way to kind of push the state butt and make sure that you know registrars were aware that this extension was granted and that people could be registering to vote, You know, passed yesterday deadline. Was there Anybody arguing against the extension? So we haven't seen it yet? Of course. We were seeing new kind of change by the hour. But, you know, even Republicans were plotting decision and they weren't at the Sarah. We You know, having pushed back against the decision, but against Northern administration, they said that it was a failure of the states for letting this happen. And even the defendant, Virginia Department of Elections Commissioner this morning said that you know this kid eligible Virginia's additional time to register or update their current voter registration record, and in a statement, the Republican Party You know, kind of made a joke that was like, you know, make sure next time you call Miss Utility and so and then I've been different than other states. You know, in Florida, there was pushback when lost me. Their registration deadline was pushed and challenged in the courts. And but we're not really seeing that right now with Virginia, with the exception that the Republican Party Did say that it was Northern Administration's fault. And besides that I have not seen pushback otherwise is their efforts to ensure that the voter registration system isn't tied to one cable in the future. Or is that something we're expecting in the coming days and weeks? Yeah. So in the briefing yesterday, Some of the Northern administration was talking about how you know this cable would put on a 10 gigabyte circuit and it was placed in the spring due to Corbett because of the increased workload because of You know a lot of traffic, a lot of people working from home, so they needed a backup, but the back of To that was not strong enough. And with the innovation of people going to register online, you know the backup wasn't enough. And so that's what they were kind of explaining, And they said, you know that they're working on pushing. So in the event that something like this were to happen, the backup would be able T sustain it and so That's kind of where we're at right now. And and yeah, and that's why that's why they were thinking. All right. Next time. You need a better backup. Um, but us for next step. We haven't heard much on that. Sabrina Marino

"Organizations, including technical support cap capacity building to increase public safety so that HST will contract with a nonprofit organization to serve as a central hub that will in turn Award grant dollars to other nonprofit organizations. These investments would include growing the capacity of organizations that respond to 9 11 prices calls provide long term support. Theon crisis intervention to Criminalized populations and interrupt it, prevent violence and harm. So that's kind of the plan for this. You always asked me about what is this reimagine public safety look like that's what it's gonna look like in the beginning. That's the idea for those $2020 buy herbal wrapped up that whole point with this about money with Theo overriding of this veto that we cannot compel the executive to spend these dollars, But I highlight the importance of these dollars in their use in a play with executive to do so. Now. So again as I think I told you yesterday that the mayor Is the one who signs the checks. The City Council can override and do whatever it wants, but in allocate those dollars, But it's going to be up to the mayor to decide whether those dollars actually gets spent that way, and I checked again with her office this morning, and it's still unclear whether she's going to do that, or not S O update as soon as I find that out, But there's already some concern on the part of the groups that have been pushing for that. Decriminalized Seattle. I'm seeing on social media concern about the mayor blocking those dollars following patterns that she's done in the past. That was not an explanation exactly what that pattern was, But that's what they're concerned about something, okay? So in the forever we had. I think it was last year when the big issues were all homelessness stuff. Apparently that that's all gonna wake is now we have all raises cops running around killing on our black people in Seattle, although the numbers don't support any that the The idea of and that they were gonna put metrics, King County said. We're going to metrics to all the money. We've already spent $100 million. We have more homeless through the problems not getting any better. So you start to put metrics in place and we're going to put this all in one big group and they're going to be the ones that get the money rather than having all these deficit fest with groups out there, spending all the money. It seems like they're now doing it again. Here in Seattle. They're gonna have a bunch of different organizations, all getting 345 million. I know. Uh, an ex pimp now has $150,000 have been given to a tailor to do something. Is there going to be one overriding sort of force that will look at each one of these have metrics in place, Or is it just basically Hey, everybody, Here's some money. Please stop calling us racist. That will definitely have to be some performance metrics and I don't think you're going to see a hole. I mean, I can't remember the exact number of homeless groups that there was, but providers but there it was a lot. I don't think you're going to see that here. I think you're going to be very targeted. Maybe maybe 10 at most would be my guess They haven't really outlined that yet, but it's supposed to be a much more targeted thing. What you're talking about specific Groups and agencies like some of what she's talking about There is this alternative to sending cops out to a mental health crisis kind of rendering one call, and instead you're sending whatever social worker group or something like that. So I don't profit would love to see that, like, Are they armed to the hand bear spray? Or do you have any spray, not bears, right, have any kind of spray on them at all to defend themselves and rolls out a knife and stabbed him. I don't know exactly what Seattle's will look like. I know that the vetted social worker seems up in stone, which county that work with the deputies they usually have. I believe a pepper spray or something on there on their belt when they go out just in case but also, they don't go out without the cops because it's dangerous. So that's part of the issue with the navigation. So a lot of the details have to be work out. Seems like the first thing that the thing that seems like the biggest loss thing that goes away and it seems like the biggest gap would be the navigation team. Is there some sort of replacement in mind for that or specific plan? No. There is no specific plan for that and again, something that's going to have to be worked out. You've got kind of pledges on all sides. But that was the mayor's big issue and one of the reasons that she vetoed that particular bills because there is no plan to replace the navigation team when she thought it was irresponsible. Why not let us work it out in the 2021? Budget, which that process which is months long, but starts this next Tuesday. The other thing that she wanted to override was that $14 million investment. You just hardly serval talking about because it's alone that they don't know how to repay yet the public testimony make a difference. All those people seeing you promised no, our leading up to the feeling. I'm not asking you. I'm asking you and I don't take cars. You're off a hand on her throat. Listen to it. Swallowing razor clan signals. Give me hand signals that tell me that made a difference. Tomorrow never goes. No, listen, Okay, So I think overall, a lot of what you heard about 90 minutes of public testimony was some scripted stuff that those King County Equity now decriminalized general had put out and pushed out for people to put on the pressure to council..

"And welcome finale. Now, my guess is lansky photographer. An image and trainer and technical support manager at data color. Please welcome John. Hayden John Goodman Finale. Harry doing today. Oh creep that. Our topic today. Well, you're an expert at. Your. Of Monitor calibration, right? Now. First of August before we even get started I did mention you are a photographer and and that's why I love how data color a lot of companies. Hiring photographers to come in. Right. So we photographers talking to photographers. So you know. So especially where trade shows. I saw the mutual friend Jerry from hunts photo exactly Yep you know. So when somebody comes up to you at a trade show, let's see you with Gerry. And they ask you, why do I need to have my monitor calibrated? Talking to them. As Well just work for the company you're talking to them as a photographer end as an expert that happened works the company right right. Awesome yeah. Yeah. So it's You know. That's a great point. You know data color. We have a very technical people on staff but we also have. People who are very passionate about photography. and. I think I I kinda classify myself as someone who falls into the middle there but but you're right. When you have a question about a technical product, it's It's not a technical pursuit at that point. It's it's a, it's a creative pursuit, your helping. You know I have the opportunity to help people understand about. calibration in Color Management and I begin with it from a photographer's point of view not from pursuit. And I did check out some of your work and that's why I asked to hear you do a lot of. Interior design and you mentioned you were. Those one of the stuff you didn't pass. You did a lot of interior designing stuff. Yep. That's what kind of transferred you order photography. Yes. So my my background in school was a bachelor degree in architecture, which is kind of heavy on space design, interior design layout type of thing, and I've kind of you know my career before data color I owned business for awhile sold that. But before I worked for data color I sold that business with the intent of becoming it fulltime interior architectural photographer. So I did work with you know interior designers, architects AD agencies and builders to help them showcase their their work. Um Great and so just. Most of us as a photographer, you had children. Become the subjects exactly I. I would say. Love landscape photography but you know most of what I do these days is you document the lives of of kids might be. I. Learned the basics of photography from my father and he was very passionate about photography a black and white darker our basement growing up and you know. It wasn't that he taught me how to be creative photography taught me about the importance of of photography in someone's life. Documenting documenting time with your cameras is just an important pursuit and he really that was the example he had for me. So it was really cool to grow up with that type of influence and to have a black and white darker in our basement carrying up. So I saw. You know develop ally. You know the smells of the darker are very. Small. I don't miss you know get my hands wet with chemicals but every now and then it just. I get I get the itch to. go back to the dark room but. Very Very Fond Memories Fisher. Well. That's great. Well, let's talk about Baader calibration who, what is it? What is monitor calibration? Yeah. So you know for transition of thinking back to the to the dark room you know there were very Specific things that you need to do to get your chemicals working right and you had to be in certain conditions to to work properly. In the digital age you know we have we rely on on our monitors. So I mean, we're we're photographers we we need to have We we trust our eyes to perceive the world around us. We trust our is to. take us through. The world and express ourselves creatively with our cameras.

"Is social ties, and one is instrumental ties, so social ties can be people who are just in your personal life, or they can be coworkers, but really what you're going to is just moral emotional support, so if I use the example of the job search right. Let's imagine that you buy something and you just only offered an interview or you got rejected and you just. Just wanted to rant about it. Invent. That's you would go to a social time for that like can I just complain to you about this I just have my emotional reaction, right? You're not expecting them to fix your problem and instrumental tie you might go to. Let's say your friend WHO's in an industry? The you're interested in front. WHO's a recruiter and say? Can you help me at my resume or it? CAN WE SPEND THIRTY MINUTES? Brushing up on how I'm presenting this piece of experience? That's an instrumental ties. Somebody's going to help you with something practical and technical support. Would you describe though the what I was just describing? How would you break that up because it feels like bit of both? I. Think what I hear you saying is know what of each you're expecting from an encounter with somebody. You Never WanNa. Make it one hundred percent instrumental, but no one that you're going into a conversation to just kind of vent and express your anxiety, somebody or whether you're trying to gather some information, so I think about this with like personal relationships. In my marriage, look, it's just about setting the expectation with the other person and I think that goes to your agenda point like here's what I would really hope to get out of this conversation, and it can be mostly most emotional or social tied, and can be mostly instrumental. They're both fine. I think when you don't present what you're hoping for from the other person. They're guessing and they might not be meeting your need. That feels awkward. Lately and I think from my experience. One other thing is think of this as A. bite-size increments don't try to reach out to someone that you haven't talked to in five years and reconnect and also asked about their industry and also ask them. Hey, you know I, saw this job at your company, and all that like the to your point about balancing, there's also I think like balancing the the social need versus the instrumental absolutely makes sense, but like for both of those only take those meter. How far you take those depending on how long it's been since we spoke with somebody, also I think know what you can expect from somebody reasonably right like if you know someone you work with them, you know whether they're going to be good at giving you social instrumental ties. My friends I've found that because of my job when they complain about work I have really stop myself from not giving an instrumental tie answer, and so was my best friends. I will actually explicitly say like wait. Do you want me to give you by opinion as a coach or you just want to talk about how annoying that person's and it makes them go actually I.

"The I mean I I don't have the technical support that I have come to rely on I and I've got it sitting on a little hello over by the window you know so there so you can see me and and then the no it's not that steady I found the question actually this week hello on top of a Christian with the iPad on top of the pillow and down it went so John you're you're actually making it sound like Dave and Mike and myself that we have all kinds of people technical supporting around this right yeah come on over here six you guys with all these people sitting just off the camera let me get that for you yeah yes that's where I'm on my own out here it's a great okay what was you doing OK with the boys the business back together this is the highlight of my week right here and yeah it's going good springtime is this year's gorgeous gorgeous and we are just trying to be patient but the this is definitely a highlight of the week this year well it is a highlight I mean you know we the four of us so you know over the years I've spent so much time together that is going to be great when the four of us can actually spend time together we're we're in the same room and maybe that's maybe that's a month away here to Munster three I don't know what it is but all the little bits of information that we're getting as far as when spring training to which started maybe games will start in July all that information that we're starting to get gives us hope that the foremost so at some point be in the same room which is what we're all looking forward yeah that's a goal John would you say there was I don't know would you call it progress this week I mean there's been some news how would you characterize what we've heard this week well I can't claim to have any real insight into it other than what we're reading about it here and hearing about but I'm I'm very hopeful and I don't we we've talked to each other Major League Baseball presented the the players with a sixty seven each our land of ideas on how to make this thing happen addressing keeping everybody safe and it's just fascinating I saw an article with the Ken Rosenthal in the athletic about it buster Olney is I think yesterday on ESPN dot com also had a very in depth article about it so I thought that that was very not just impressive but I think encouraging because I think that they they truly want to have the players best interests and their health in mind and it's not a done deal that that's the only plan they have opened up the players that can respond in and tell them what they like about it what they don't like what they think needs to be added in addition to and that sort of thing so up so I'm I'm hopeful that that that is the main thing and that they're that they're gonna wanna play obviously they haven't they have issues that have to be resolved but the you know I'm I'm I'm I was actually thinking about and we were talking about earlier in the day the broadcaster these games in an empty ballpark and with the different ideas about the split in the league's up into threes and a good possibility that we will not be actually going to the road games will be broadcast in them also television monitors when that team is traveling and and and I was fine with that I I don't care where we are as close to each I am interested in how you guys feel about it there's some cities I really enjoyed going to their their places that I like to go in certain cities or take a walk to meal out or or whatever bookstores waterfronts and I was sort of in a state of mourning that we're obviously at this point we're not going to go to any of those whether they play or not so and we've been going to these places for a long long time and we've been going to work together yeah I I agree I I think even the places we don't like that we would miss even those places how you doing how you feel about it well I mean one thing is that some maze I mean John mentioned sixty seven pages the level of detail it is remarkable how much effort has just been put into trying to think of all the contingencies and all the stuff that needs to be accounted for and part of this initial proposal I mean the way I read it was that even the people who are traveling you're going to LA San Diego Seattle the places we all like to go you stay in your hotel you don't ever leave the hotel you're not allowed to other than to go to the ballpark which is going to be hard I think for players I mean I I you know hard is all relative term right now but I think that will be hard to even just sort of funny stuff gave me a chuckle like no showering after the game so if you want to get away day the giants gonna play a game and go to the airplane and not have a shower after the game I mean I maybe that's the totally wrong stuff to be focused on that that's clearly not the biggest picture items here but can be a very different season you know hopefully we have a season but when we do it's gonna be really yeah I mean are we going to have a voice are they gonna be all dudes all these little things that keep the flow of the game going we can't take for granted and now will there be talk about not having them there I don't bill how that's all going to work I think my concern is once again gets back on the field that the rhythm of the game this is such that were we recognize that we feel good with it minutia allow small group the fact that somebody spent that kind of time on it used to be great optimism that we are going to play again but I still have concerns as to exactly what the game is gonna look like once he gets back on the field we can't dictate the rhythm on the field but we can dictate the rhythm of the broadcast and that's going to be up to us to do that and it's going to be a challenge then you know what great read our age ran on you need a challenge for crying out the challenge to figure out what I'm gonna do until five o'clock I am so bring it on let's do it my dad has this great idea of getting some fans on a soon call like this imagine I don't know how many you could put on on one call with eighteen or twenty four screen zero however many people you can get online giants fans and and have them to name a **** put him up on the scoreboard whatnot and and the chance to something well they could cheer him sharing which it might be nice if you're a giants player actually hear your fans cheering for you in what otherwise is an empty ballpark so I think Dave is on to something how do you do if you could just figure out how to do that that would be helpful because I don't think I could figure it out all my technical expertise yeah I'm gonna how to spend the next few weeks working that out I know somebody can figure it out right it's a live crowd reaction so that has to be possible I know this to be so from what I can see Grateful Dead concert we could use it's unbelievable use that so little you're.

Is your employee communication regarding COVID-19 helping or hurting?

"This talent Tuesday episode. I WanNa talk about our brave new Kovic nineteen world over the last week. I received no less than fifty emails from companies with which I've done business telling me what their plans are in reaction to cove in nineteen and these emails. Run the gamut someone to make it clear. They're still open for business for the benefit of their customers. Others have decided to voluntarily. Shut things down for a few weeks and some fall in the middle and are modifying operations that allow certain parts of the business keep functioning while other shutdown some of the companies closing up or decided to pay their employees during the closures while others are not the wren's when I have a very open and communicative relationship with our listeners. And many of them have sent us copies of the communication. They've received from their own employers. I WanNa read one example for you. Now though the company Mormon anonymous we want to give you an update to where things stand for us as it relates to the Corona Virus Situation. The situation is very fluid and concerns over. The virus are no longer focused on just China Italy or Seattle. The World Health Organization recently declared independence. Which means this virus spreading fast and spreading globally locally as of the writing of this e mail our healthcare agencies have stated the risk of infection to the public in our area is believed to be low while that may be the case for now. We believe we have several responsibilities to be part of the solution during this unprecedented situation. We believe we have the responsibility to do. All we can to the health safety and well being of our employees families and partners we believe we have the responsibility to our neighbors to use social distancing practices to limit or slow down the spread of this virus and to lead by example and protecting our communities. We believe we have the responsibility to maintain critical operations of our business by continuing to build and ship product with limited interruption. And at the same time doing as much as we can to keep our frontline employees related to these activities safe we believe we have the responsibility to continue to support our customers with technical support and customer service in order to meet these responsibilities. We have already taken the following actions. We have postponed the upcoming sales meeting. We have suspended all airline travel for all of our team members. We're limiting all visitors to all facilities. We're increasing our nightly cleaning procedures performed outside cleaning crew at all facilities. We have engaged. They're cleaning crew to bring in Puerto Services to sanitize high touch areas in the facilities during working hours. We are separating the staff supporting our to Home Office locations in order to increase social distancing. We have a contingency plan in place. In the event one of our facilities needs to be shut down and disinfected we proactively implemented cost delays and reductions in the event the global economic environment results in lower than expected revenue. Starting on Monday march sixteenth. We are asking people to work from home as much as possible if you need to come into the office during this period please inform and discuss with your supervisor prior to doing so we believe by implementing this plan will reduce the risk of a total shutdown at any of our facilities and enable us to still service our customers finally as a reminder. We provide six days of paid sick leave per year to all of our team members. If you're feeling. Ill please utilize your sick days to protect yourself and others. If you're concerned you won't have enough sick days. Should you contract cove in nineteen rest assured we will work with you to provide extra sick days? Let's all take extra precautions and practice enhanced personal hygiene procedures and avoid large crowds in order to reduce the risk to ourselves and others through these actions. Our intentions are to be a leader in our community. Keep our business running and keep us all safe. We have an exceptional team an amazing culture and I know we will all work together to help each other and the company get through these uncertain times. Okay so we received more than a dozen of these from different people. What did I pick that one? Because the media in their efforts to sensationalize everything have really only focused on two types of stories related to employer responses dacoven nineteen stories about companies that are paying all their employees full salaries while businesses shut down and stories about companies who suggested employees. You aren't sick. Donate their sick hours to others so sick employees. Don't run out if this all or nothing thing that's meant to evoke an emotional response from the reader and it's unfortunate because the vast majority of employers fall into neither of these categories. They can't afford to pay everyone like it's business as usual but they also aren't so tone deaf as to believe everyone can just take a few weeks off and there won't be financial consequences for them and their families. That's why I chose this one. It threads that needle really well. It's empathetic it. Acknowledges the situation it doesn't try to downplay it? It starts with a list of values shared by employees and then connects the actions back to those values. Best as it can. It doesn't claim to be a solve all problems and it doesn't imply an US versus mentality. Either it says we're all in this together and we'll do everything we can so please trust us. This is new territory for us to. This is what employees want they want their fears acknowledged they want to believe their leaders are being transparent with them. They want some evidence that whatever pain this causes is shared by everyone and not weighted towards the front line employees so that company leadership can have everything normal for themselves. If you're a leader of people and you have some saying your organization's employee communication about cove in nineteen how you navigate. These waters will determine which of your people's hearts you still have after we get through

"So let's talk about cruising there's a huge upwards of thirty million Leeann people this year are going to cruise. It is definitely a subculture. Why do people love cruising so much? It's not really a subculture. What happens is someone takes it's a cruise and in they cruise on the right experience for them they become cruisers for life So it's not a subculture. Yeah is actually everyone. Yeah could be cruisers for life if they cruise in the first place so under penetrated in every market in the world. And we're GONNA be under penetrated us one point four billion estimated travelers year. Half a billion vacationers a year in the world thirty million cruisers so really small part of the market all the cruise ships added together at Upton less than two percent of hotel rooms in the world one of every two people cruise with us. So we don't even consider all the cruise lines as competitors because I we're gonNA chase the other one percent and we're gonNA chase the ninety eight percent. Yeah it's not that as cruises for certain types of people is that there's a certain cruise for every person if you're with a bunch of college friends different way the kids with you a different one different destinations. Stock market comeback faces big test with earnings season starting

"We start off with a make or break moment for this market. And that is right. We have to five hundred in the dangerous on right back levels. I was at its breaking point back into Szemberg after dramatic fall. And even more dramatic bounce back from the bottom. Ten percent move higher from the Christmas Eve Lowe's stocks make a Ron twenty six hundred once again, so the fed seemingly and check some progress on the trade war being made will the market make it out of the so-called danger zone down. Yeah. Well, listen, you know, you sit up kind of dramatic set up here. But he this Matthew. Ravic or viper. Even that, man. Okay. Fine. Smith on comedy six hundred level was really really important because from the October highs we had this decline. We got back down there. It's a level we've bounced had been technical support for a little bit and on December fourteenth when it broke it went straight down. So here we are right back there. One of the things I think is really important. I think you wanna look at a couple of the sectors that lead on the way down. We've been talking about Bank stocks in particular, the XL F. And then let's talk about the exceleye the tracks industrial stocks took to very cyclical groups here and really remember what was going on. There was a bit of a gross scare back then in December. So when you look at those two charts, the exceleye and the also approaching those breakdown levels here. So to me, I think if they get there, and they can't get above there and they fail then you continue to sell rallies. I think it's a tough spot to to press lows, but exceleye XL after really keys, the S and P five hundred has to get above twenty six hundred and stay there. It has to become support. Well, he's too close to missiles and switching to guns mouth. So bottom. Line here. Top gone. I got it. Smells like anyway. Bottom line. Here's I think the fed actually takes you out of the danger zone. If you believe the fed Mench were consistent with what pal gave us on Friday. And that's that's not predetermined to be robotic and foll- essentially a protocol rather than follow the data. And I think we've had reaffirmation that. We've all speculated very, well, you started at Mel talking about this guy that had to follow a script. Did you have to stick on courses as Powell learned about his messaging? But what I think we learned from the fed today's a couple things in Rosengren at some comments this morning. The market may be actually overstating the markets, the the economy and the weakness in the economy, and that's actually fed that to me might be ready to jump back into the fray, the most important things for me right now are the fact that Asia to me last night inflicted, and I think if ages starts to recover, and I'm not just talking about China 'cause I don't really care as much about the local markets there. But look at Korea, which is both an industrial export or and also the epicenter of a lot of the tech worries and look at the dollar, the dollar weakness the Dixie another weekday signaling. I think clear for crude which we talked about the top of the show. Oh and emerging markets, which are Neal the dollar to me is the key to this whole thing. Right. We had a very weak dollar today. Although I'm not convinced that the fed is out of the picture. My read of what the fed said is they want the ten year yield higher. They wanna steep yield curve.
