Chrissy Teigen Minding Her Business, Living Life Despite 'Cancel Club'
"Got to talk about Chrissy Teagan because she wants us to talk about her, and that's what we do. But I know you guys talked about this Instagram post. That she made last week. I wasn't here. The one where she basically was like, Yeah, the cancel club sucks. But I've got to say some, You know, I can't be silent anymore. And yada yada yada. What was your guys' take on on all of that. I'm trying to remember other than just the obvious, which is There is no such thing. As the cancel club because You weren't canceled right? The fact that you are complaining about It's not that she doesn't have her own journey that is valid and full of ups and downs, And I'm sure a certain amount of stress and or pain And when people come at you on the Internet, that can be a painful thing. Mhm But literally the week before she talked about how it's hard to be a member of the cancel club. She was gallivanting around the Mediterranean with her other high profile celebrity, privileged friends, and she was sharing that all on social media. So right. It's really like it, but But we did the thing that we do, which is to say here on the Colleen and Bradley show, we go deep in the shallow, so it was like, Well, what's the point of somebody who so clearly is living a life of privilege? Saying that they were cancelled and talking about it at length right now on social media, like there has to be another purpose, right? And, um One imagines it's too Stay relevant for a reason that we're not quite sure about. We just don't know yet. She's obviously 12. Well, I mean, I mean, maybe part of what she's trying to stay relevant for is the fact that she actually lost. Partnerships. As more people came forward and talked about the things that Chrissy Teagan said about them. And as long as she can stay in the public eye, there's a prayer that she might get some of that stuff back.

Let's get this interview done so we did the interview. And that's gonna be the part two on thursday for members seat. Teagan had these experiences in a very creepy house which i call the portal house but then she also has these experiences of et visiting her. She's been abducted. Her aunt has confirmed her abductions. Initiating talks about her father being in the military real briefly in this episode and that is part of the epiphany that she had for the second episode for the members. This coming thursday where she actually now thinks that she might have been part of a twenty and back situation that involves her dad but not only that she talks about having this portal likes pop up on her where she believes that maybe she slipped into a parallel universe. Which was kind of freaky because we were talking to her. And we might be in the other universe of parallel dimension. It was a trippy episode. Very trippy conversation. But this conversation you're about to hear gets a little tricky to so. I really hope you guys enjoyed this conversation. And the thursday conversation. I've waiting to release these episodes for quite some time now. So let's get to teagan. Let's go we.

"Good day to you. Um Oh. Oh, that was like, half a horn. Let's try that again. Here we go. Monday Horn. It was a Monday horn right when you just get the sad and of the horn. Um, well, Speaking of the sad end of the horn woof Stuff got weird on Friday after we got off the air with Chrissy Teagan and that, uh, Michael Costello story. Um, stuff got weird, and we thought maybe it would extend through the weekend, but it seemed to have been just a Big sort of dump, and here we are big, sort of tough. Let's get everybody up. That's appropriate for the hot mass of the nature of this particular story. So Chrissy Teagan is going straight for Michael Costello's jugular on Social media. She is not playing around. Um and you know we can read through this. I assume she's telling the truth because I don't know why you would go so hard in trying to say something is the case. If, in fact it was not. It's not the celebrities don't lie. Wait. You one would imagine that if the person was telling the truth, you might just kind of walk away from it so that you don't have to deal with it, right? Um, uh, although that leads me to the ultimate question. I feel like she might be cutting off her nose despite her face. I don't disagree with you, and then I need to tell you about something else that's going on with her career, which is delightful. Anyway. So interestingly all of these things were happening at the same time. Literally, Um, so Chrissy Teagan going straight for Michael Costello's jugular means she tweeted on Friday. I think towards the end of our show, no idea what the bleep Michael Costello is doing now. What is Michael Costello doing? Colleen? Do you want to just give us a thumbnail quickly to catch up the audience? He's like, I don't know what any of you are talking about. Michael Costello was a contestant on Project Runway. After Chrissy Teagan, um, released her. Her medium apology, which was a written apology on medium which is a public publishing. Website Like she wrote it herself and published it right there. Um He came forward and said, Hey, f y I all of you. I haven't heard anything from Chrissy Teagan. But boy, she was real rude to me. And here's what she did. And he told a story and shared some screenshots of some Dems that took place between him and Chrissy Teagan that made it appear as though she was Rudy Tuesday. So that's where we are. Thank you. She then goes on to say in this tweet as to what he's doing, not understanding it says she. I'm talking like Yoda quote. He just released a statement where he didn't at all acknowledge how fake The Dems were and now claims to have emails that don't exist. So while he conjures those up, hopefully with someone more talented and fakes this time here, and here is, um, introducing us to an image, which includes a statement. Purported to be written on behalf of Chrissy Teagan, and I'm not going to read the whole statement because it's literally four panels long and by that I mean, four images of words, which I just What a weird world that we live in, where people that the social media social medium that Brought us the story doesn't have the capacity to clearly and concisely deliver a message without having to Take photos of the words I don't That's weird, Instagram. Um In this statement, though, it's it's very interesting because again Let's just back this up. Let's take a bird's eye view a 20,000 ft view and see what we're dealing with. Remember that we're talking about? Um Chrissy Teagan, having sent messages either Tweets. Or direct messages to people that were bullying in nature and crass crude. Sure, a lot of different adjectives you could probably ascribed to them. In one case told Courtney Stodden. They should. End their own life, right? So that's what we're dealing with. And then as you so, uh, wonderfully laid out Michael Costello added to that, but like He was just one of many right right, or at least one of a group of people. Who claimed similar behavior, right So in the statement, Chrissy Teagan very clearly and contritely apologized for insensitive public tweets she made around a decade ago. She did not acknowledge or apologize for sending private messages, directing or encouraging self harm. Also that I don't understand because We have the proof from Courtney Stodden, do we? Not absolutely. But she says she does not acknowledge or apologize for sending private messages. Direct. What am I not understanding about? You don't know I Oh, I know there's one. There's two words private messages. The message that Chrissy Teagan sent her was public, right. So from this is my assess direct messages, not public. Right. But what she sent Courtney Stodden was public. Oh, but I thought there were actual private messages that she sent to Courtney son. Maybe. I don't know. I thought they were all public. I thought they were all right on over Twitter for I thought the one where she told Kourtney saddened to off herself was not. But that is neither here nor there. She goes on. Christie is completely surprised and disappointed by Michael Costello's recent attack in which he mild Allah she goes on and on and on in four panels describing why You know, this is heinous, et cetera. And then she lays out what their actual interactions were. Yes, according to her Dems, however, However, at the end of the day, and when I When I said, Let's take a 60,000 FT view. This is just rehashing all of this stuff that Chrissy Teagan, um, has already dealt with in her public apology. It rehashes and makes us address. Think about like when I just said, But wasn't that one tweet right with with Courtney Stodden? Wasn't that That now makes us all relive and re think about The gross stuff..

Chrissy Teigen Apologized For Being A Twitter Troll

18 Seconds Into Hell
"Friday. The twenty eighth of may water week. Teagan yeah absolutely. I mean how how hots are got two people in melbourne and victoria. Going to look down again. It's nothing Nothing nice about that. And of course. We know her that the these outbreak and the subsequent lockdown with seated out of high to- corentin in south australia. Yes so that's the that's the story here is a state gets shut down because of a leak in hotel quarantine in south australia. New south wales was lucky. A few weeks ago with the man who became positive clearly got mortar corny. But they still don't know how and they could have had a bad spread there. They were just lucky that they didn't get bad spread. It wasn't it wasn't contact tracing. That saved us there in use. Is we always say damon. New south wales was simply. That obviously didn't have a spreader here and has been a spreader in victoria so in hotel quarantine. That's what we need to focus on right so let's just talk about. We have a little bit more information more detail about what happened in south australia. And it's not pointing the finger at south australia's a state where this happened. And we've got a situation where we had people in adjacent rooms at the end of a corridor and a medi hotel and they think the transmission might have happened in a window as short as eighteen seconds between doors opening and closing. Yes there was a a man who was becoming positive but they didn't know that it probably should have known that because the person who was sharing a room with them previously did become positive. So there's always at high risk of being positive open. The door eighteen seconds to get a meal was unclear whether he was wearing a mask or not and in eighteen seconds later the door to the other man who is the man who went to melbourne. His door opened his meal and that presumably was enough to transmit the virus.
Behind Louisiana's Climate Plan To Become Carbon Neutral
"The state setting aggressive climate goals perhaps the most surprising is louisiana. The longtime oil and gas state is now trying to figure out how to become carbon neutral by twenty fifty teagan wetland of member station w. w. n. o. reports like so many in louisiana. Daniel autan knew exactly where to find a solid career oil and gas hard work but it paid for his family's modest home on the edge of the woods outside homa thought it had a job for the rest of my life but five years ago the notoriously boom and bust industry came for him. He's in a completely different field now. Construction sometimes he wonders if he should have done something differently to stay with oil and gas in. You look at things from from the big picture and you realize you know you were probably lucky to have your job as long as you did. Democratic governor john bel edwards seems to have come to the same conclusion about the state's reliance on the oil and gas industry in a major shift. He says the state must find ways to address the cause of the climate change. That's behind increasingly powerful hurricanes floods and rising seas so last fall he launched a climate pask forced to come up with a roadmap to zero out emissions. If anyone can identify innovative and sustainable solutions for future it is louisiana and our kids are counting on us. Louisiana is the fifth largest carbon producing state and petro chemical and oil and gas producer for decades. It is subsidize the industry with tax breaks and incentives but made it hard for wind and solar companies to operate or develop now the climate commission will explore the potential for electric cars mass transit more solar even offshore wind turbines in the gulf of mexico. Just put it this way. It's the first time. Any louisiana governor has put the words climate initiative in taskforce together in one sentence. Nonni carton is a policy expert with the deep south center for environmental justice. So that is a major historic step forward. She hopes that investing in clean energy creates more jobs especially in communities of color and reduces pollution in low income areas. We can actually generate energy ourselves in a way that doesn't have these toxic side effects on these harmful environmental climate
How Worrying Is Sydney's Missing Link?
"I go away for two days and new south. Wales has had a coronavirus outbreak. What's going on every time you go away. Teagan something happens so you. South wales is going into partial restrictions. Nowhere near a lockdown and are continuing for another week beyond what we thought. Originally cases have emerged since the to the other day and of course the source of this. We don't really know what the source is of this outbreak. But it's from this one person who has contracted the and it doesn't seem to know where they got up from. There's no obvious links to hotel quarantine or return traveler. So how i mean. How worried should we be that. We haven't actually found the source of the outbreak where we know the sources the a man who came into the country with the b one six one. Seven point true variant. But what we don't know is how got from that man to the man in the current outbreak who then passed it to his partner. So that's the mystery is is where the transition occurred where the spread occurred. Clearly the man who came into corentin hotel quarantine match move so the the where elements of possible exposure outside that. But i think the the new south wales department of health is assuming that this was actually probably quite a brief contact somewhere along the line rather than something. know robin. Somebody over is obviously the people with the drivers. The nurses looking after them and so on and they've obviously turned up negative so it's some other glancing contacts that they haven't been able to detect the virus and spread it to this other person either directly or indirectly and what they're worried about of course is that it's secondary spread beyond that intermediate source.

He doesn't mess And he said, And I'm sure like you just can't miss when you're dealing with the president the last four years. Pretty right. You know, it's been. We've been super divided, and I don't know again, but I think it's on the incoming administration because I see better than I here. So let's lead by example. And the one thing I will say about Trump is he was a really eat. I mean, when he wasn't speaking jargon. He was a good public speaker, and I felt like Joe Biden fell short at the inaugural ball. Last night in his speech, because again he's reading it from a teleprompter. But the message of unity overall pretty good. Yeah, good elements there, But it's politics. I understand that. That it's meant to make us feel good. But the genius is in the details and whether or not we can actually come together because we've been so horribly divide any. Trump Administration Auctions Arctic National Wildlife Refuge To Oil Drillers
"And now a story you have missed. During last week's storming of the us capital. The trump administration achieved one of its biggest environmental reversals. It auctioned off leases to drill oil in alaska's arctic national wildlife refuge it's one of the country's most pristine places home to migrating caribou birds and polar bears but the sale was a bust degan hanlin of alaska's energy desk joins us now to explain welcome. Hi thanks for having me on. Thanks for being with us okay. So the trump administration has pushed for the sale for three years. I mean republicans have pushed to allow drilling in this refuge for decades. What exactly happened here. So the sale received a striking lack of interest as a former federal gas official told me it was a dry hole. A bust about half of the area up for leasing got no offers at all. No major oil companies submitted bids instead just two small companies each picked up one lease and the rest of them went to the state of alaska. There's a state owned economic development corporation here the highest bidder on nine leases. But what. I don't get the revenue. The refuge is thought to contain a lot of oil. Right so why wasn't there. More demand. well industry analysts have said there's multiple reasons a major one is the opposition to drilling in this place. There are ongoing lawsuits fighting. The trump administration's leasing program there filed by environmental groups. And the glitch. In which is an indigenous group that hunts the caribou that commonly give birth in the refuge. And they say. The leasing program is rushed legally flawed. There's also just the high cost of doing business in the arctic compared to say texas and there's the uncertainty about future oil demand and the changing presidential administration. Here's how larry personally former federal gas official for alaska put it betting your company and billions of dollars on oil in a high risk environment on the arctic. Besides for all the grief you're going to take from the public from shareholders from investors. That's a big gamble companies. Just don't have the appetite for that anymore and one more point money from this sale was meant to offset president. Trump's tax cuts back in two thousand seventeen but this sale will raise just a small fraction of the amount. The government had hoped okay so the industry didn't really show up. But you said the state of alaska actually stepped up since tapped into buy up leases. Would are they going to do with that. You think right so there's actually quite a bit of political support in alaska for drilling in the refuge. They say it's a way to create more state revenue more jobs so the basic idea. Is that the state buys these leases. Which last for ten years and can be renewed and it could just sit on them and wait for market conditions to improve and then it would have to partner with the oil industry to do that. Actual drilling okay. Well president-elect biden has said. He opposes drilling in the arctic refuge. Can you do anything about the leases. That have already been sold. It's not clear yet what we'll do. We know that. Normally lisa's could take months to finalise. But we expect the trump administration to try to rush them through before biden takes office when option is biting. Try to buy back those leases when he's an office though that's kind of unusual also. Once a company has an oil lease. They still have a lot of permits and approvals so industry analysts say a biden administration could hold up that permitting process and it's also still possible. A federal court could intervene teagan handling of alaska public media thank you.

After Decades-Long Push, It's Not Clear Who Will Bid In Arctic Refuge Oil Lease Sale
"The trump administration has fewer than three weeks to go and is working to lock in oil drilling in the arctic. National wildlife refuge. It's holding an oil lease sale next week. Deacon handling of alaska's energy desk reports it's unclear. how much oil is under the refuge. Supporters of drilling in the arctic refugees coastal plain often point to its oil potential as a reason to develop the remote stretch of land president. Donald trump has described it as the gravesites of energy in the world. But while geologists say the rock formations oil seeps and old seismic results seem promising. The data available is still limited. We don't know very much about this area. David house neck is senior. Research geologist at the us geological survey and he helped with the agencies last assessment of oil potential and alaska's coastal plain back in the late nineteen ninety s. The usgs calculated anywhere from about four to twelve billion barrels of recoverable. Oil house. next says that's a whole of oil but also a huge range in part because it's based on seismic data from the nineteen eighty s. Technology has come a long way since then going into a lease sale in the coastal plain with the only data being thirty five year old. Two d data is quite unusual house. Neck says what's also missing from the usgs assessment is any data from actual wells in the refuge. There's been just one exploratory. Well drilled in the coastal plain also back in the eighty s on alaska native land but the results of that test well are a closely guarded secret confidentiality agreement and never an end date on it. Mark myers geologist and former commissioner of the alaska department of natural resources is one of the few people who have seen the results from the test. Well outside of the big oil companies that paid for it. So i can't comment on in terms of what i saw even though it was a lot of new york times. Investigation based on legal documents suggested the results were not promising but the amount of oil is just one factor companies will consider when deciding whether to bid in the alaska sale. Another is the money. Myer says it's already more expensive to drill in the arctic compared to say texas on top of that oil prices are still low after an oil price war and the coronavirus pandemic hit the industry. Hard low prices have fallen down to a level that we larry little capital for exploration in these companies. So that's one of the biggest negatives. There's also the controversy says weena gun. An analyst with the energy research firm would mackenzie. The refuge is home to migrating. Caribou polar bears and other wildlife and that has prompted multiple lawsuits to block drilling there. Some big banks site climate change and say they won't fund oil projects in the arctic. An amount of i guess public opinion the it wouldn't necessarily be good p for them to be seen as ruling and the article drilling and environmentally sensitive areas. But perhaps the biggest uncertainty of all is the changing administration. President elect joe biden says he opposes drilling in alaska's refuge although if leases are finalized before he takes office. It's not clear how he would stop it for npr news. I'm teagan hanlin in
Sydney isolated from rest of Australia as COVID outbreak grows
"Saw christmas wig. Norman and over the weekend we have seen. The sydney outbreak will the northern beaches outbreak really grow and restrictions of coming to place when we said good bata audience on friday nominee. Pretty optimistic that we were going to be out of now these thing before. Christmas is still feeling that way. I'm nervous i think. I don't think they're doing enough. The risk is that it overwhelms the contact tracing. It's just you. Don't you never know where it is. And yeah probably called it wrongly pepsi two racks about it but it is There are a lot of cases. They and they're not just in the northern beaches area when you look through the list of locally acquired cases there you there in sydney there in the north northern suburbs there in the eastern suburbs. not many. but there's just a few and you don't need many. This started with just one case from overseas. Probably aircrew of the prices. Speculating on somebody being in You'll getting exemption but either way it's from overseas and the system is broken down. Basically new south wales luck has run out so new south wales approach up until now has just been really intense contact tracing and that actually been pretty successful with keeping a handle on the cases. They're considering the work houses a few months ago. So the restrictions that they operating in the northern beaches a pretty tough. But there's still more that they could be doing. Isn't it well. I just think it's called smacking. But haven't mandated masks sydney white. I mean that's the first thing you do. You just tell everybody living in greater sydney soon as you walk how she wear a mask. I know you can't transmit it very well but taking a mask on an office you go inside just what soon as you go out you put on your mask and that means review go. You've got your mask on. It's cheap effective by seventy percent. You don't know where the viruses just mandate. I do not know why the new south wales government is so done on mask. Wearing how much of a problem is it that we still don't really know exactly how this outbreak kicked off. Oh it's huge that you know how well i think we know how tall it kicked off. Somehow from somebody from overseas the was negative until the tenth of december the genomic strongly suggests from overseas perhaps the united states and so it spread from somebody who's coming from overseas. The question was aircrew. Was somebody returning to from overseas somebody who was given exemption to go home and didn't stay at home. Who knows what the story might be. But it's definitely from overseas trouble is we don't know when and we're not really sure where we know where the super spreading events where the super spreading events in a bowling club and the avalon oursel- and there are other hotspots around hotspots places where people have been but essentially a very big dense people having a lot of fun good on them into there was a problem at that point but that was a super spreading event and from there. It spread outwards. And it's not just to satisfy curiosity that we want to know where these outbreak kicked off from. We need to know where the chink is armagh so that we can make sure that this doesn't happen again. Well no it's more than that. It's it's that's part of it but that's kind of done the track a little bit when you're dealing with an a pandemic that breaks out in clusters you've got to find all the clusters and you've got to find out where the cluster started so whilst you got to say well okay teagan you are at the avalon bowling club on on a certain date which was high risk and everybody that you've been in contact with. We want to know we actually want go before you know what happened. What were you doing two three four five days before then before you tested positive where where you and actually start the contact tracing back in time in history and what they're doing now is they're trying to do that new south wales back to the twenty third of november to give a bit of a margin beyond what they think might be. The first cases roundabout the first of december. So you to go back in time as well as get the immediate context and by there's going to be secondary context is going to be people who got first time around To second time around and it's out in the city and in other suburbs as well as outside the northern beaches and as we find out from victoria. it's very hard to ring-fence a suburb. But as we said i think in the last grown cast the northern beaches are fairly straightforward to ring fences the much more well defined than some of the really big in warfare suburbs in melbourne's northwest corridor. Really impossible but even so. It's still very very hard. It's a big densely populated area and ring-fencing is is only going to have a limited effect. You've really got to ring-fence greater sydney for a few days to see what's happening and maybe for a couple of weeks. It's christmas yes. It's tough but businesses already winding for christmas. The economic impact should not be huge. If you lock down sydney and just get this thing under control and not mess around. What we've seen from overseas is quite clear. And it's quite clear from victoria as well if you mess around and do a little of this a little bit of that. It doesn't work. it's simply does not work. You've actually got a fully lockdown victoria did. And if you do it you don't have to for too long every day. You wait can be a week at the other end and the other thing that we should be doing. Is speeding up vaccine approval. I know that we've said we can wait but now the face. We studies in the morning when victoria was in lockdown. But now the face re studies are in and it was fine to wait while we didn't have a problem we weren't there was no reason to just you know russian along because we could learn from overseas. But now that you've got this outbreak and it's big and is going to spread potentially through australia's biggest city and crippled potentially cripple the economy. There's a very good argument for getting going with immunization. So the tj good administration simply has to give a approval. I know go on about how they don't have an emergency approval process but that can be organized and they can they can be. There are ways for them to give urgent approval for this vaccine. It's not bureaucratically impossible and actually get the whatever they've got here in stock in terms of the five vaccine get into sydney's northern beaches and ring-fence immunization give it to healthcare workers their age care. Give it to the elderly and then you can give it to an efficient way to use it before it spreads. I realized we don't know that it's prevents. Transmission always really knows it prints disease but like everything else you just taking a chance that that it will prevent transmission and hope that it does and give it in that light. There's a lot that we do with this pandemic. we're not absolutely sure what what is the end of the individual things that work but you just gotta hit it. And now we've got a vaccine. We should hit in places like the uk and the us imperative to vaccinate is pretty obvious because the scale of the outbreak there is so massive in global terms. What's happening in sydney is pretty mine like does it still justify fostering vaccination he is because it could become big quickly quickly and be very difficult contain and create a of time now. This is a different public health. Aim this is much more like what. They did with smallpox with smallpox in poor countries massey. Muniz ation didn't work. It was very hard to implement it the way they eliminated. Smallpox was exactly this. This sort of ring-fenced vaccination you find a case and you immunize people around that person so that you you get this sort of halo. Immunized immunized effect and with the pfizer vaccine. You get fifty percent effectiveness at least with the disease with just the first does and within a few days and then one thousand four two or three three weeks so you. The effect is pretty quick. Would be an of faith that it prevents transmission. But it's worth ago. Why would we sit on this. Just go so at the moment the restrictions that are in place in new south wales in sydney are in place until wednesday night so basically the day before christmas eve is that going to be long enough or are we to say these extended while the restrictions are only on the northern beaches not greater metropolitan sydney. So that's not control the pandemic. I mean my. That's my prediction. It will not control the pandemic unfortunately spreading covid nineteen spreading. So that's the problem. I hope it will. Let's hope that contact tracers and not being overwhelmed and that the traces that are the cases that are popping up in south west sydney in eastern suburbs of city in the northern suburbs like hornsby they can pin them down the they're saying that they're traceable to the northern beaches outbreak but who they spread them to are the contact. Are they able to trace to them. So let's hope that they do the do contain it. But that's the so then. You've got the the lockdown simply there. You've got no mandated masks. They're just pleading with people to wear masks but just mandate masks sydney white right now. Just do it why. It's so frustrating that they're not doing that. Evidence based approach so christmas becomes unfortunately in sydney a superspreader event. Potentially if they haven't sorted this out and you're really done to very low levels of new cases where adly quickly quickly if you're not very low levels of new cases. They can't afford to allow christmas to go ahead with big family occasions. Otherwise it's going to go nuts unfortunately so the other thing that we really don't know much about yet he's exactly who's who when it comes to these outbreak and that was something that we were quite critical of the victorian authorities about when they were grappling with. The outbreak is new south. Wales being transparent enough well looking at the data. They're giving it is much easier to understand. There were lots of times in victoria. Had no clue whether we're talking about change. During the day the definitions were awed. Here you can see the breakdown you can see where the cases are. You can see where where there's locally acquired but they don't know where the sources. I think it's two or three at the moment is a little bit of discrepancy from the press conference and what they've published since the press conference. Yesterday there were two at press conference soon to be three on the table by today. I'm not sure we haven't had time too early for us to luke. Why would why we record this so nasty question. It does seem more transparent but what's lacking is public health measures in the community to control it and give the contact tracers a break and let them follow it through contact tracers but no matter how good the are if you get too large numbers of cases they get overwhelmed and getting extremely tired whereas masks would help just reduce that spread that little bit. That might make a difference. Yeah it's a really critical a couple of days in the lead up to christmas. But we're going to be keeping you informed but that's all we've got time for today
Why are we still waiting for travel bubbles?
"I'm health reported teigen tyler and opposition and journalists filter norman swan it's choosy fifteenth of december and for anyone who has loved person who lives overseas. Which i think is most of us. where all kind of wondering when we can open up the borders again yesterday norman. We heard that new zealand is okay with having a travel bubble relationship with ustralia. But there's still some other hurdles that they want to jump through i. What's the delay. And why aren't we seeing. Travel bubbles opening up with more countries where we could. Interestingly china could be one of the countries that we do. Singapore were done at very low levels. Taiwan not south korea anymore Once upon a time you might have thought south korea so there are a few places in the world. The pacific islands who desperate in indeed of our tourism dollars so there are a few places which have our virus or very very small amounts of virus circulating. I don't know what new zealand is waiting for. I mean we've got virtually no disease spreading in the community nor infections spending the community hotel quarantine. Yes but they've got quarantine to maybe they just wanna see us being tested again for a little while just to see how we were going case. We're lax about hotel quarantine that might be what's going on there with new zealand but we could open up right now at an incredibly low risk. The problem is is that it's a bit like sex ak go on next to party talk. This is my now so we what we're talking about here. Is this the all sorts of sexually transmissible diseases. When have sex with somebody. You actually having sex with everybody else. They've had they've had sex with and the virus got something else. You can contract that. That's the problem here with travel. Bubbles is wayne you get into bed sexual analogy with a country. You're getting into bed with all the countries they've got a relationship with in terms of air travel bubbles or how they do it so new zealand is is pretty safe. There's strict as we are in terms of who's coming in and going into hotel quarantine and therefore you can be pretty sure that their border is not is not loose and therefore at risk. Singapore is another issue and the pacific islands are if they're not careful about their borders or somebody's not transit. Here be careful. somebody's not just transiting through. Singapore and singapore becomes a way station for people trying to get into australia. The back door and that requires just filthy. Mine teagan just to yourself. I stopped analogy a while ago. And you're just key ongoing planet to say to him ahead anyway. That's the that's the risk to be sure that their border controls because essentially it's only as safe as their borders and if their borders are open effectively. You're opening the borders to australia vibe. Whatever country we have the bubble with so it's pretty safe with new zealand pretty safe with the pacific islands. There's probably a lot of negotiation before you do it with singapore. I would thought very safe with taiwan very unsafe with almost anywhere else in the
What's HIV got to do with a coronavirus vaccine?
"And norman. We had on friday that the vaccine which we talked a couple of times about on this podcast saying that it was a really promising candidate has been canned over the fact that people who received it could have a false positive to an hiv test or particular antibody associated with hiv. And we've had a lot of questions from the audience about this. So let's see if we can demystify. These are really felt like a bolt from the blue. We got kenton asking. Can you please explain how a why false positive hiv tests stopped. The queensland trial doesn't this reflect poorly on the hiv test rather than the vaccination. So that's a great question. Canton anita back up and just do a bit of an explanation. Here you listened to colonel cast regular you know that the vaccines and some of the treatments but the vaccines are targeted against the spike. On the surface of crohn's now the problem with the spike is that it changes shape. And you want it to be exactly the right shape for the lock and key mechanism and therefore it's going to be fixed. It changes shape of. It's not attached to the virus itself. Is that what you meant. That's right kind of swings in the breeze a bit now. How the are ours is the no one in the pfizer vaccines novartis's but vaccines do. This is that they've got a genetic variant of which programs a fixed version of the spike protein. So that's how they do it. How the university of queensland vaccine does it is that they've got something called a molecular clamp. So they kind of clamp into position so that it stays in the right shape for the immune system to recognize as a bona feed your at accurate version of the spike protein. So the immune response that you generate is exactly the immune response you want to be able to control the corona virus. Now you gotta be a clamp clampett. So what is what. What's the clamp. You can't do it for the client in the shade. You go to find some way of doing it. And the way the clamp they use in part is the is part of the human immunodeficiency virus. So it's an envelope protein. I think quite crudely although it's called nimble protein that's how they use it in his co. gp forty one and it clamps down the spike and holds in place so that you've got a stable spike for the immune system to respond to. So that's what they use. Hiv's being studied endlessly and they know exactly how these things work. It wasn't as if they didn't expect some antibodies to this part of the human immunodeficiency virus. I'm told that as part of the informed consent people told they might get a transient rise to to hiv antibodies. So that's what's happened here. Is that more people. Got an antibody response an immune response to this part of the human immunodeficiency virus. And that's what killed the vaccine. Not your had issues but we had the antibody response. Here's the problem when you actually do an hiv test you test. A couple of different parts of the virus that the check for the body response to hiv in different parts of different parts of the virus gp forty one is one of the parts. And there's a couple of others now you've got to get more than one of those to have an absolutely definite positive hiv test if all you come up with is gp forty-one then that's you know that's an equivocal test and they've got a taste you further so the problem is that the communist hiv tests include gp forty one in the suite of antibodies. They pick up when the testing for hiv. So the problem is donate blocks you come kneecap positive and they reject your sample or go to do other other ids tests to nil it. It's not as if it's impossible to get over. But it creates a lot of confusion and difficulty out there and and i suppose they just took a risk benefit equation. There was no harm to individuals. And i think you listen to the press conference. Teagan and some of these antibody rises. Were actually tempering. That that's right. So they said that. All of the vaccine as the older people that receive them. Had some level of positivity to hiv even though before the trials they really thought that it was theoretical risk in quite a lawyer one but they did say that even now at least one of the paypal has gone back to zero and the other seem to be declining so it could be a transient thing and they said that they did actually talk. They've had conversations with the government with health bodies about maybe whether the hiv tests should be changed to give people access to the coronavirus vaccine but they decided that i that would be really hard and be in addition to a public health issue around hiv. There's also a really important public perception issue around the vaccines and they wouldn't want people to be put off using the vaccine because of these perceived link with hiv even though there's absolutely no health risk associated with it at all because it's just a tiny little part of the virus that can't suddenly become the virus it's just literally apar- you're molecular part of the virus which is entirely independent says a huge shame and pamela asks. Why did they try using hiv. In the first place. I think the they at the press conference. That's right and one of the big reason is because hiv is just so well studied. And so this this clamp that was talking about before it was crystallized in hiv. I and so because even though. Hiv's are really scary bars or perhaps because it seems like scary virus. We know a lot about it. We started in a lot of detail and so with something. That's a really nine quantity being able to clip these thing out and put it into the vaccine. Seemed like a really sensible choice and because this was the first human trials of this vaccine. They didn't have an opportunity before now to know that this was going to be a risk the issue that we have only working human so they couldn't use them in the animal bottles and it wasn't really a high priority when the outcome that they're looking for is covid not really itchy. Europe was the last question from lou. Lou is asking the the stories seem to suggest that it was abandoned due to a concern about possible public perceptions rather than any real problem with the vaccine is this right is partly right of. Csl was party to that. They're the commercial partner and they've got a marketing issue to explain why this has the while you get a positive. Hiv test. even though it's false positive is enough of an issue reducing vaccine hesitancy. When you've rush through some of these vaccines and then you add hiv on top of it but there are practical issues. Liu and the pro the probably mostly relate to the blood supply you go into give a blood donation they will do a routine. Hiv test on it. And if it comes up positive and you either rejects the blood donation if let's say for example that fifty percent of the australian population got immunized against the with the vaccine and some of them didn't disappear quickly then. They've got to do further testing on the on the blood supply to make sure that it's just. It is truly a false positives. It creates a practical problem. They it also creates a problem for perhaps life insurance. So these things are solvable. I mean if this was the only vaccine available in the world they probably would continue with it but because it's not they've gone for just saying we're just gonna use the overseas vaccines which kind of brings us to some other news. That came out over the weekend so we heard that the yuki vaccine has been canceled. Which is a real blardone scientists but in addition to that glasgow smithkline vaccine has also been paused or cancelled canceled as been paused. So what they had was. They had a problem measuring the virus or the virus particles you know. Basically the corona vars to the vaccine in the in in their samples and they got that wrong and therefore the shoe or the wrong does in the in the samples and they had to had to go back to the drawing board workout test for the the elements of the corona virus in their vaccine and then reinstitute trials in a few months time. So they haven't candid is just the technical problem early on and often dosage does become a problem in vaccine trials. It's not unknown for vaccines to fall over at the dosage stage. And it's worth remembering here. The in the rush to get these vaccines the bit. That's been compressed. Is what's called the phase two trial. So what's happened here with the q. Vaccine it was the phase one trial which is a safety trial which find out this problem with hiv that it was more common than they thought. Normally then you would go to if it was okay in the phase one to phase two trial which is often largely about finding the right does the best fate whether it's a drug over vaccine and that's what's been compressed and they've tried to do phase one phase two trials together or face to face three trials together and the dosage that s- being not very well sorted i in some of the trials so for example. That's one of the problems with the astros trial in a small subs- subset of the trial. They gave half a does again partly because they weren't they weren't formulating in the way that we thought they wear and also a group that was largely under fifty five and they just didn't have time to sort of that element before they got to phase three and then they're probably going to have to double back and recheck all that well.
What's going on with the AstraZeneca vaccine?
"Everyone is continuing to scrutinize the oxford astrazeneca vaccine which just me awakes ago. Felt like how best chance at a vaccine for card and it's it's come up with results as we talked about last week. That looks really promising. And then on closer inspection. They looked a bit. We'd there was a thing where a small group of people in the vaccine trial received a half toys and they had better results. But then now there's questions about whether they would give him a half dose by accident. How do we make sense of what's happening with this vaccine trial. It's actually really hard. So we we signalled all this. I think last tuesday on corona cash. So it was quite clear then. The they done something unacceptable which was tried to average two very different trials and one going to sixty two percent result effectiveness result of preventing covid nineteen disease. Which if it'd been the first vaccine to report cited pretty good because the registration level is fifty percent effectiveness but came after a visor moderna with well over ninety percent effectiveness. And then how. They got their average of seventy percent. Sh- really sounds like confection. Which is that the got in another smaller trial. A result in people who have does food or following had got ninety percent effectiveness. And all this goes back to pharmaceutical companies making scientific announcements by press release. We could talk about this til kingdom come. There are rumors circulating this confirmation but apparently they're rushing to publish this and that there's a report of the financial times they will publish this in the lancet thursday so thursday of this week british time. We should know a bit more about this trial and remember. This is a vaccine. The promise not to make profit side of that is cheap. And they've committed to giving very large doses. i think something enormous like a third of the world's doses of vaccines are relying on astra any so. This is a lot riding on this vaccine. So six effectiveness is better than nothing but hard to justify spending money on if you other vaccines around that are ninety percent but if there's nothing else around than what do you do so they may have to repeat the trial With a half does fall by food if you remember. There is rationale for that. Which is that. The chimpanzee virus that takes genetic material into the cell in theory generate an immune response in other words you immunize to the chimpanzee virus so the second vaccine does that you get the bodies kind of immune to actually the carrier for the vaccine so it doesn't prove to be effective the russians get round this by giving you two different carrier vaccines first. One is a different carrier. Virus from the second vaccine doors has a different carrier virus. Antibodies to the first one won't affect the second one but the the reason they chose. The chimpanzee virus was in the theory. That the human being wouldn't generate an immune response to a chimpanzee vars. It would be kind of invisible which is maybe wishful thinking about. They have studied this chimpanzee adenoviruses before so really we can talk about it. A lot on corona cast but will know hopefully the end of the week an awful lot more than we know now. But i suspect they're going to have to go back to the drawing boards and try a half those trial just to see whether or not they can get a ninety percent efficacy so we have some questions from the audience about this. But i've got some questions for you. I do these sorts of things. The maybe the deicing mix apple the on shore uncertain results so these happening or clinical trials. But the difference. This time is that the public is watching it. Play out in real time or is there a chance that these frantic competitive pace of trying to get a vaccine out is may be causing companies to have to make errors and so then what does this mean for our ability to trust a vaccine once. It comes on the market all good questions. Teagan the reason you've got this problem is almost certainly rushing and missing out of what's called a phase two trial so normally you've got three phases of trials phase. One which is looking at safety tends to be small and a few hundred people then you would normally go to face to face to trial is a dose. Finding study which is the most effective does of vaccine or drug. That's going to get you your effect. That's in a larger number of people and you. You test the dozing now. What you've missed out here in all. These trials is a proper phase to study so they've rushed headlong into a phase three study with a guesstimate as to what the doors is. Now i think from memory. There was an element of doors finding in the face. Three study in the may. Well it'd in them does finding all the vaccine trials testing the site. Which is why you've got the half does or could be a mistake. We'll find out but it could be that we got the doors wrong. And if you remember rightly right at the beginning of this whole process we said nine out of ten vaccines fail and we haven't had nine ten vaccines fail so far we've had them all surviving this process. It's just that the astro vaccine was disappointing with a to those regiment. Michael's asking about the payoff. Side of things star. He's pointed out that pfizer medina have both sort of said that they vaccines are about ninety five ninety nine hundred percent effective but they've been very selective about releasing details of their methodology and is querying why they haven't been subject to similar criticism as oxford astrazeneca. I hope decisions are not being based on who has the best. Pr so the answer to that is we. Don't know until they publish the results. But certainly pfizer. Moderna were fairly straightforward. And what they said it wasn't transparent at all they just don't trust that to one thousand nine hundred. Ninety five percent effectiveness astro if you like was a bit more transparent although there were a bit silly and averaging the two trials so you could see. There was part of the study which showed sixty two percent. Genetic study showed ninety percent now if that happened with pfizer madera. Different does is. We don't know that all we know is that the does they've published. They got really good results but the regulators will see those findings. It's there's no. There's no benefit to pharmaceutical companies of lying to regulators like the food and drug administration. Because the will be called out. The penalty is a huge in terms of reputational damage and in the financial damage. So go to get this sorted out. And they've got to be honest with the public but this is the problem with a press. Release you just. Don't get a chance to scrutinize the data.

Okay. and it causes huge because n now this was last season lewin was deeply offended that she was coffee l. ing giovanni Offended. not in the program not in the acknowledgement that she didn't think giovanni which apparently directed the hookup and they're well known in manhattan for the scouts so this song is like a thank you well lou and should think derain de forgiving her that viral moment which led to this song which sounds like all of her other songs that she sort of does but that's where the giovanni thing comes from but she did not think derain defer like if you didn't spiring This fight did we post Lou and doing this, unfortunately, yes. Took place at the watch. What happens live out in the lobby just recreate it because the clubhouse was too small. Andy hired drag queens to wear Giovanni outfits and come out on a runway as Lou is singing inner high pony tail her new song Giovanni. Literally hallway? Amazing. Silver, the high ponytail and Chrissy Teagan is bopping around and Andy is trying to bop that boy can't dance. it was bad but anyway just wanted to explain the giovanni but it kind of has similar dance beat The sing talk Rex than my fair lady. Over house beat. that's exactly right and the best thing that they did last night was andy and chris teagan played a game called rate that shade where they're rating the shadiest moments that have kurd in the clubhouse during the past ten years of watching and even admitted they didn't even touch what they could have got in there but we are only playing the ones that chrissy teagan and andy scored a ten for shade like kim kardashian government but it was just like a sick so we're just going to play these four shadiest okay we're gonna play chrissy you and i will go through some of the shadiest moments on this show and rate them from one these scorecards we've got leaks this was very close to the beginning of our time on the show let's see To Mary and trash botany aware, call you later. "So maybe so embellished. Maybe they did have scrambled eggs. Then maybe that part was embellishes. Well, maybe they do have maybe the whole thing's made up. And he just wrote it while sitting there, maybe he's just in this office. The cool thing would be Caleb to start talking right now. Headphones on. That would be so cool. Now. Vacations Kayla Presley. All right. So much grown Kayla. Thanks caleb? So this weekend, we talked about on Monday because Morial day weekend, but twain Wade and Gabrielle union who are married, if you didn't know that are in Greece. And they are spicing up Instagram, Dwayne Wade posted a hot picture in Greece shirt off water dripping off his skin. Look in great and Chrissy Teagan the light the picture and unliked it, and she wrote I, unlike this in fear of being weird at gab union at John legend, if you saw it just no I do not like it. So I thought this was funny because what do you think about this? Like. If your friends significant other post a hot picture, do you like it? Yeah. See, I feel you like it. I mean it's very different for normal people right guy. I don't have. I don't have friends boyfriends posts in hot shirtless rights photos all the time. Re actually never literally never. So that's not really a pro like if, if Gabrielle union sees that Chrissy Teagan likes his picture, she supposed to get mad about it or she like oh, that's my friend. She's married to John legend. She's just supported definitely not. I think this is a classic case of Chrissy Teagan, being Christie Teagan and right being funny. But there is just the picture also got a lot of conversation because, you know, he's in a bathing suit, and that's why. Oh. Oh, a lot of comments coming in, because they were like we can see the biz see what's going on the bathing suit. I just realized that just this second. I just realized that, yeah, there's men defending him in women attacking him. It was being like all these women out here talking about a married man's package. This guy said comments approve the women ain't shit got a life and stop talking about this man size. Just tell us that he's the fabulous gab union. And then this woman wrote I had to zoom it couldn't see the dot never mind. You look happy D as in. It's still ain't seen nothing, Dan. Shame. All this will wrote that little shrimp. Oh man. That sad. Can't Dwayne wages pose a hot photo and peace. He looks amazing, so Chrissy Teague comment got overshadowed by Dwayne Wade posting himself, literally, and maybe that's why Chrissy got uncomfortable BS. She was like, oh, now everybody's coming commenting about what's going on under Neath outta want them to think that I like that. Because that yeah. Like, what if Gabrielle union, I like this picture as her husband's dick, showing in the short exactly don't want that. That's a recipe for disaster than we get the Kris Jenner. OJ whole situation couple start breaking up hoping thing, but you just throw that out in regular conversation. What do you mean? Yeah. You know, that's how we just get, you know, couples fucking other couples in and no, no. No, no, I meant with Chrissy Teigen, John Doe. No, I met like friendships breaking up. Not minus the actual. Okay. Hot tub massacre. Okay. So relationships ending not like the details of that makes a lot more sense. I thought you were going full JJ. Oh, no friend, come on. I'm a normal human being. Well, you could have gone with just saying that's how relationships break up instead of saying, well, you know, that's how we get so Kris Jenner being relatable for the podcast because we talked about it on here. I'm tying it all together tying it all together friend. But then let's just move on. Okay. Forget. I said that a race Kris Jenner and OJ from your brains. The thing is, if Dwayne Wade was liking, all of Gabrielle union, hot, friends, pictures, there'd be a problem. I feel like that doesn't fly..

That's the best witches on bitch. Big one should've came back with. Now everyone you want, I don't care, just get back. Everyone stuff came from the well, no, that's something else. If you look at the whole clip, it's not that bad, really, not the shit out of early for no reason. Why people Chrissy Teagan? Yeah. She's at least Christy. But she. Chrissy. I don't know personally our kids go to school. You close friends who are in the business like producers high up, she super special. There's a reason why she made. It's not right. Just because of John legend, funny funny. She's. So with Steve Harvey, did you see this? Parv goes successful, people don't get eight hours sleep a night, and she's trying to be funny. She's like shit. I get like ten to twelve and then he's cool story who told you or successful. And this donkey, what did she them back to the extent of who told you were successful? And also the only reason because John legend so take it easy. Oh. I did not know that, that is, you know, there's a button to push with Christine Teagan that one. You know, to Berlin embel- arguments, whatever. With her, like she also at the end of the day knows she's allowed on Twitter and social media like curry like she's fucking mess with anybody. "I'm by myself. And all of a sudden feel felt like Teagan was hugging. Me whispering in my ear said everything's gonna be alright. Enjoy your members coming in the room and seeing the biggest smile on my face. And I said I said takings in heaven isn't she and she had come up literally to tell me that t the past five minutes previous at about the exact same time is is I had that feeling. And for me. I was good to me having was as real as you can be then at that point. In. I remember getting a call from a new station. I don't know how they got through care. But I was I was doing television from the ICU mainly because I was bored in that limited television stations in the ICU. But I remember asking me if I had a message for the driver, and I just said, you know, tell what forgive her and. That was kind of message. But I think it was it wasn't me speaking, I think it was God's speaking through us. He said that I was like wait a second. We haven't even talked about. This discussion. How can you possibly? I've figured it had to be the medication. He was. I'd like he doesn't even know what he's saying. But since since that very moment that he was asked that question in the loss of Teagan. He's felt and claimed that forgiveness. I don't think he really wrestled with it. Whereas on my. You know part. I was gonna ask you. I felt like wait a minute. We get to choose. We get to choose what's going on here. Like she's made that choice to drive the car, but we get to choose what happens next. And so when I found out that we were going to be able to make victims statements in court and have our say, they'll let you say whatever you want. I was going to let her have it. I was ready. I was like, you know, what this is my one chance to just bent and let it all out. And so that was early on. We were told that I wrote several pages of of stuff down in the days and weeks went on. "Yes. And their names are Teagan on flax seeds. Eat organic chicken. Myself humanely in the backyard, stab in some kind of a kosher way. I call them they individually and collectively because their gender non conforming their trenches therapy dogs. They wear sweaters. I know what my life should be. You're listening to Q. I'm Ali Hassan in for Tom power. That was Dean Smith on the net. Flicks show comedians of the world, I love that Teagan and Sara references that a little nod to Canadians watching absolutely coming in hot with all the lesbian stereotypes. So the show is available in countries where English is not the first language people in Guadalajara and Karachi will be watching this. Some people are going to need subtitles to watch your how do you think that will change their experience of the comedy? I mean, I don't actually no I think I'm animated enough. I do stress. I'm a bit of a cartoon character up there. So I think there's something to enjoy. I'm glad there's subtitles because I talk so quickly sometimes that it might be difficult, and I've already had a few tweets from people in languages that. I do not understand I'm assuming they're positive. I'm liking them and saying thank you. It could be international. Hey, let's just also say that what do you think about that can a punchline be funny? If it's if it's coming to you through a subtitle. Oh, sure. I mean, good the foundation for every comedy is the written word. So a lot of our stuff should be funny on paper. Before we put it out there. I mean, there's going to be a little things, you know, there's a it's a subtle art. The there's some nuances and vocal inflections that sometimes push a joke over, but for the most part if it should be funny on paper, if it's funny spoken, and I I've done comedy where. I've done comedy for for deaf. People were I've had sign language interpreters doing the the bits off to the side. As as I'm doing and not everything lands. But enough of it is going to hit right? The weird thing is it's going to be a delay. The laugh the laugh when people read it sometimes comes long after it's been spoken. Sure. Not so different from a weed room that little delays slow down your pace. There's this idea of reading the room, you know, in comedy. Now your room is is the world. This is a global performance. Do you deliberately pick material from your repertoire that's going to appeal to the white is audience possible. Does that does that even matter? Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily save the widest audience possible. Because I feel that I don't know I feel that I've like I'm kind of a niche listen to me find out how you feel. I'm doing my own thing. So the people that like it like the people if you don't like it, that's fine too. But I did definitely try to choose things that I thought would translate well in most places I'm excited about I feel like I have the potential to be like quite edgier than I actually am. I mean, I'm openly gay onstage. I talk about being gender non-conforming. I don't know if there's countries or places in which that's extra exciting. Let me inspire your youth. Love it. That's a great way to look at it. Do you adjust your set typically, and where you're performing or it's like these from me, I've always tried to craft my show to be accessible to the most people. You know, I try to get you never gonna make everyone laugh. At the same time. But you can try to get as many people laughing at the same time arrows and the rule is like eighty percent if you can have eighty percent of the people laughing eighty percent of the time, you're going to get everyone laughing at least once sure and that's so specific that's such math. It's like it's management of your own mental health a little bit too. So you don't have to focus on those people who aren't the guy in the front row at the cross. Exactly. Like your dad, exactly if you. Before you bite off any of your own jokes. Again, let's play a little bit of. I got very very excited the other day because I finally got a bath. Mat.

I did not know what you're saying. It's like. I know. But it was just cheat. She made such a big deal about it. I was like on. Well, the story about her husband John legend. Yes. And her feet. I say the wrong thing all the time. Ellen. First of all. I'm like Asian jungle feet like we're meant to climb trees. I used to have in my Sports Illustrated like contract that no feet. Like, I would bury them in the sand. Oh my God. It's going to be a thing. Now. Why would you wear shoes? Why would you wear shoes that show your if you haven't seen that can't wear booties? And I figured that. Nobody would ever look that close until you say look at your feet. They told me they could edit out anything here. We'll just add it that out. Now, we're not gonna. And that's what I want. And that's what I'm fighting for. And that's why still I feel like the underdog 'cause you know, when you are the token girl on a campaign in a runway show, you realize that there's been a shift because you're there, but they're still hasn't been a big enough shift to see another face like yours and. That's what I want. I wanna see many faces that not necessarily look like mine, but that looked like so many different types of beauty that I've never seen before. And how did you get here? I mean, did you always want to model? No. So it's so funny because I was listening to your episode Chrissy Teagan first of all your episode with Oprah. I listen to three time paying Kyo the re freaking times. She's amazing. Why is she one of the most inspirational women on the world? She's just a gift. She is she in this room. Now you phrase, the I I drove ninety miles away to go. I would have flown to the moon to get that interview. But I was also listening Chrissy teigen's on the way over 'cause I just wanted to get the vibe. And it's funny because she said Sports Illustrated was kind of a turning point and not same for me. But growing up in Nebraska. I mean, I I lived in Texas, Atlanta, Arkansas New Hampshire Nebraska went to high school in Nebraska. Walking around in a mall. Someone came up to me and said, hey, do you wanna be a model mind you I'm twelve years old five nine probably like a hundred and sixty pounds and a size ten twelve. And I'm looking like a woman, but like a really sweet face and. Oh boy. And all of a sudden, I get thrown into this world of well. Yeah. And they're like, okay, you're plus size. Okay. Here's a sexy. Look. Okay. This is what runway is and they do this kind of went into a modeling school almost and they paraded me around a bunch of the big agencies Ford pick me up. I was there for about ten years. And now I've been with IMG for the last five years, but I was always a catalog girl. I was always the one that was stuck in a corner that, you know, you're pretty you're the moneymaker, and you won't be famous, and you should be happy about that. You don't have an editorial face. You don't really know how to editor elite model? So just be okay. Make your money and stay quiet, and I never liked that. I never liked being able never liked doing. What I wanted to do. I don't think anybody would want to be put in a corner. But I listen to the people who I thought were the professionals the ones who had made. All of the rules, this this whole time. And when I married my husband, and if I did that make you feel well, it makes you feel I've always said that even through high school or middle school high school. I was always a second most favorite or the second most popular, and it was I was second fiddle to everything so walking into this. I felt like I was in the right place because I was second fiddle. I was the curve girl, which is second fiddle to the skinny girl, I was second fiddle because the editorial model is always looked at more highly than the catalog model. So it's I fit into this role so perfectly that I wasn't going to complain. And till I realized I needed to complain I had been told so long that I was a plus size model. I had been told so long that I'll never be on the covers of magazines. I was told you won't be having a business because you don't know how to run one. And next thing, you know, all it took was my husband's saying, why are you in the same position?.

And this would be really fun because then it would play into it like you mind keeps people from Dante points if you feel that they'd be bad at naming children grueling bat, Rojas children's names, like do I like that. I into that, like I feel like factor in what is my baby's name, come up in every cost. I love and I do have the best strategy right? Say I is this unsolicited advice. Every podcast, you wanna hear what people think charge me named. You got ideas about it. Everything guess it's like no, listen here, Nick, he's what you go to do. So my cousin just seen big birthday, shout it to her as interesting is. Yeah. So her beautiful baby boy's name is z. so what the strategy we've come up with is what you gotta do is you go to name your child after bad survivor players so that if you ever if they ever go on the show, they'll definitely be the best survivor video. You know, like if I have when I have kids in the future, I'm gonna go to Tia for a girl Zeh night for a boy. And then if they literally versed names in middle name night, and then if they get on the show, those definitely be the best of those names..

"Anchor just coming for this beloved celebrity like Chrissy Teagan. How dare you say this about Chrissy. I just I wrote help for the, I don't even know. But even know what to say or do like, what, what can we do about this? When will everyone just forget about him? Do you think over my thing is I think, run out of munition at a certain point. Not that even has any now, but like I don't know. It's very clear that the palace was kind of letting him hang himself with his own rope, but he keeps finding more rope and I'm scared. I feel like he just continually is like ratcheting up the state anti. Right. So this was a nine hour interview. I honestly shudder to think about what he's gonna do next weekend over her actual birthday legal birth in. I could see him trying to up the of photo op nece to like, what if some Tom Boyd flies to London? What if some tabloid flies him when she does her US tour to the different locations are going to like, I don't know. I feel like there could be new ways for him in some anthem to like, try to. I don't know cause a scene last thing. I think anyone wants him to like show up in London demand audience with her, but like I feel like I'm not. That's not pass the point of happening at this point, right? And God knows like Piers Morgan would be there for Tom to do that if you wanted him to. I don't understand. I feel like the palace is almost like making a mistake by not getting involved and they have to get involved like this is just going to keep happening. Yeah, I know it does just feel like this might be the rare occasion where I usually I'm down with. They're like no comment approach because I feel like it's hard sometimes to like, see what you could add that would know not just add fuel to the fire like you don't want to give him the most credibility, but of the keys her father. And if you keep talking, I know I have never wanted with. For Dr Phil and counter, but could Dr Phil talks insensitive him. Well, one point in this in the rambling interview, he says, if Meghan just said, this is a paraphrase mega just given Samantha little bit of attention. Samantha would be like heaping praise upon her, which also feels weird. Like he's almost saying that like they just want like a response from her. But like somehow I feel like that that went end things even at this point, right? I feel like hairy or Meghan should release some sort of statement from the palace thought would be good. I think maybe a dressing, Tom, maybe or what if the Queen, because he has such a fixation on the Queen. What if the Queen issued a condemnation of him or something. I don't really know if that would work, but right. I would love that, but I also don't want to give him that satisfaction rate of knowing that he's on her radar. I mean, what a dilemma if we need to move on to something that's happier high in the limelight listeners,.
