"When you can open up to large crowds and stadiums and that is if there is a vaccine or some kind of real treatment for cove it and both of those things seem far off which could mean quite awhile in time before any stadium events or concerts Large large gatherings really take place. You're listening to stayed week. I'm Shawn Crawford. Panel includes Charlie Wheeler Slam Dunk Law Bill wheelhouse and Rebecca Enzo she's statehouse reporter with Capital News Illinois. Bill let me go back to something you just said you. You talked about this You know the level five which the governor had mentioned What I've heard from people who have been critical of the governor. They'd been seeing a lot of the things they've been complaining about. Is that at the beginning? Governor Pritzker talked about flattening the curve and by all estimations were starting to see at least getting closer to that happening But a lot of people feel now. He's moving the goal line that he is moving it back Saying that you know we're now going to have to get back to real normalcy. We're going to have to see Either a vaccine for the corona virus. Or we're going to have to see much better treatment so a lot of people feel as though they're not getting a clear picture and guidance from the governor's office well. I think this is probably a more clear picture. Wha- The RITZ GUIDANCE FOR ANYBODY. I'm uncertain but You know now. The governor is out with a rule book where he put A true goal line on the field so But he's always said it's going to be a long time and for those restaurants that Sam Dunk Law mention really. They will probably struggle all the way until this is fully open. Charlie your thoughts on that. Do you think the governor has I is it right to criticize the governor for you. Know sort of pushing off the the full reopening of of the economy in Illinois as long as he's talked about well. I think there's a couple of things at work here. One is when the governor issued his first order. A lot was unknown. There were a lot of. We're going into uncharted territory. Now that we've had some time to see how this is playing out what the impact is what's happening and spill. He's he's laid out a very specific plan. It's I think it's like a ten page treatise and it says here are the things that have to happen in terms of the medical conditions. The things that can happen economically was going to be allowed. And so I think it's taking what was originally sort of a flat out broad generalization and putting into details and another thing that occurs to me based on the polling. That's been reported. Let's say that The state does say okay Memorial Day we can all go to the restaurants. I'm thinking what was the reaction of people be like in my case? I somebody who usually well back in the day I would eat out almost every day I'm not sure when I'll feel safe going into a restaurant again. But my guess is it's not GonNa be any time soon. Let me Turn to something else. We discussed last week on this program and him Rebecca. I'll turn to you on this Both you've been following it. There have been some lawsuits out there. both by lawmakers one federal lawsuit filed by a Church Can give an update on where we think those stand at this point. Yeah so that Church lawsuit that you mentioned it's been appealed to the seventh circuit. That's up up north We'll see what happens with that representative. Darren Bailey. Who's Republican from his lawsuit? is also so he had gotten a win. A judge agreed with him and gave him the permission to be lifted from the state. Home Order his attorney Sort of gave that up and the case is back in Clay County. Nothing's been filed yet. But his attorney Thomas Divorce said that he's GONNA FILE AN AMENDED COMPLAINT. Which means he's going to add some things to his argument I am unsure where representative Cabello lawsuit stands yeah. I don't know if it's come to court yet. The and I should mention these are all lawsuits. Have been filed against the governor's stay at home order so again. We're watching those as we go along but let me let me now turn to some other topics that we've been wanting to fit into the show here for the last few minutes but Sam I'll go to you first nursing homes Democrats actually had a little bit of criticism over held. The Governor's Office how the Illinois Department of Public Health has been dealing with nursing homes. Well what did they say? A group of Senate Democrats I spoke with senator lower fine of Glenview ahead authored. A letter to the State Department of Public Health asking for a little more information about personal protective equipment shipments to nursing homes in the background on some of that of course many of our listeners have been following the news in nursing homes across the country and particularly here in Illinois have experienced A hotspot of cases there outbreaks. There have been particularly egregious largely because you have a very vulnerable population in close proximity. Relatively speaking to one another you know many of us can socially distance those in nursing homes really can't Without some pretty strict protocols changes coming forward so of course. The staff that are taking care of them are needing personal protective equipment. Like masks and gloves hand sanitizer. Things like that to make sure that they are safe. Is they're caring for these residents. Especially if a resident or two or maybe even ten have The new corona virus The problem is is that a of these senators have gotten calls from nursing homes in their district saying you know. We ordered a certain amount of people from our suppliers and we haven't gotten it. Is there anything that you can do? Is there anything that you can point to in this at the State Department of Public Health to say you know where is the P coming from? And WHO's getting it and I think the reason they did that was because the governor has offered you know pretty regularly an update on the amount of P that is coming into the state. He usually rattled off just about every week. A large list of this many million gloves. This many million masks the senators are asking the Department of Public Health for as much as they know to provide more detailed information about where all those millions of items are going to particularly because the nursing homes are the ones that are among those who need it most. I did reach out to the State Department of Health. They have not returned my request for comment just yet but they have been in receipt of that letter at the same time that all this has been going on Sean Gin just this last week. The Union representing nurses and staff at nursing homes just agreed to a tentative two year collective bargaining agreement with nursing home management. They had planned to strike today if that had not been accomplished what ended up being agreed to was among other things The wages would be fifteen dollars per hour minimum. They would receive hazard pay and other accommodations during the covert nineteen crisis and nursing. Homes agreed to not require any staff to work. If there is not an adequate amount of PCS so there will be no mask sharing glove sharing at least as far as the agreement is concerned and the president of this union has confirmed with reporters that that agreement will be ratified next week. So there's nothing expected to change but nurses and staff will not be striking over the issue issue. There was another lawsuit to talk about this week and there was a ruling on it and former governor Pat Quinn's name back in the news. Rebecca Ellison on that. Yes so Us District Court judge. Rebecca Palmer which your listeners May Remember from the suit. That the Libertarian and green parties filed against the state She ruled Thursday. That the That the Committee for Illinois Democracy Amendment Was wrong so they they claim that restrictions implemented to combat the novel. Corona virus made it impossible to gather the necessary signatures for them to play a constitutional amendment on November general election valid. That amendment would obligate the General Assembly to take roll-call votes on bills that propose stronger ethical standards for Illinois fficials so their attorneys which as you mentioned include former governor Pat. Quinn said that they're seriously considering an appeal on that. Bill also wanted to mention something you reported on this week graduation ceremonies. That's big rite of passage for a lot of seniors high school seniors in the states and those have been in limbo because people didn't know how they were going to actually hold a ceremony. Deliver these diplomas but Finally there seems to be against some guidance this time from the Illinois State Board of Education and some of that came because A lot of people across the state had planned different types of ceremonies but Involve some type of social distancing kind of an alternative graduation and the State Board of Education. I e the governor's office said no to those and there must have been enough outcry complaints directly to the State Board of Education. And the governor's office that A week ago last Saturday that they came out with guidance one of those they allow drive through. Graduations involves automobiles and different presentations. But everybody's staying in a car and part of that came out because A senior high school students in Taylorville Illinois in Christian County wrote a letter to the governor complaining that all these plans that their district had had for a month Had been rejected by the governor's office and her letter and some other complaints helped Apparently turned the tide. And Taylor Bill will get the habit graduation ceremony later this month where people come up in cars. The student gets out in their CAP and gown. There gets called they go across the stage and they pick up their diploma place there by a school administrator before that person gets there. So they all have the social distancing or let's go now to our notes from the field. Charlie let's begin with you. Well everybody is talking about how the The viruses having such a horrible impact on the Illinois economy which in fact it's true We've had a massive loss of in terms of the state's tax and sales tax collections. But in one area things appear to be still doing well. And that's Marijuana sales which last month April totaled more than thirty seven point two million dollars which was the highest monthly total since thirty nine million dollars in sales in January which was the very first month of legalized adult sales. And that came. Despite the fact the social distancing guidelines required customers at the state fifty licensed dispensaries to order online and to use curbside pickup. So maybe people found a way to deal with having to stay at home Sam Well although none of our listeners can see me through the magic of Radio on my hair has started to get quite a bit long as as well as many others throughout the state. The governor himself in recent weeks admitted that he started to look. Like a hippy. Without hair salons being open So those are likely going to be opening in many parts of the state once we move to phase three A lot of those businesses though be implementing protocols that include taking the clients temperatures They're going to require face masks and they're going to sort of extend out furniture to make sure that there's at least six feet of separation between clients bill. We are seeing people driving a lot fewer miles on the roads and the gas stations across the state of Illinois. Say they've seen a decline in gas purchases by more than half and how that trickles down is gas tax. Revenues are way off and that means fewer road construction projects locally as towns get their road. Money from the gas tax fund and because sales are dropping off of not only The gasoline but also gambling and lottery proceeds. It means that Funding for Road Building Program is also lagging way behind and expectations are that Roadbuilding funds could be down at least fifteen percent for the coming year and Rebecca. So Mine Is Short. But very sweet for some of us Friday marks the sixty first daily covert update held by government. Pritzker in Chicago and as he said on Thursday to the delight of many reporters and probably others to and this is going to be the first weekend that he's not going to hold his briefings all right. Well that's our time. For this edition of State Week our panel included Shirley.

"Regard for football players at the same time he was learning the alphabet. It's been with him almost his entire life. Keep reading your on fire. Oh Art after every patriots game bill check would find Taylor for a handshake shake and speak a few words. Every game heck sometimes during the game check would make some positive comment to Taylor. Like you're killing us today Taylor Bill. Belichick loves great football players and he loves playing football. Now you say well. What does that mean? What that means is he's always scouting? So how does this apply recruiting. How does this John? You know this as an entrepreneur and I I would consider to be an entrepreneur. Are you always recruiting new talent everywhere everywhere you got to eat. You're thinking about that later. He view on the seo Ti usually for excellence. You know and so the other day I was Out At researchers research every week yeah shopping and there's this one guy in there he's in there all the time and he's just killing it and so those types of people you just want to find out what they WANNA do and see if they are looking for more of a career than just job and so just anywhere. Ah Anywhere you go yours looking for excellence. And you're looking to see what you can do with that. I could tell you're going to be a successful manager. Not Or entrepreneur. Not If you look for talent at all times but the people that don't look for town at all times John I know they're not gonNA find good talents. The most most of our good talent comes from finding people at all times. I mean think about this for a second where did did attempt come from the call center Research and used to work with them back in the back in the day. Yeah most of our really. Excellent employs came from like a starbucks or a quick trip or places like that. So it's a you know you know that. They have the sense of urgency. And then you're just looking for people to have good character and have that sense of urgency. That are willing to do a good job every single day. Also WanNA I WANNA make sure we didn't skip over the fact that in that quote Bill Belichick says that Steve has father was even more terrifying than he is. Let's talk about that for a second. How crazy easy would that be if that were true? I would just say if you're out there today and you don't have a certain amount of intensity then you can't win. Dan and that intensity is something that you have to bring to the table. And everyone's going to say you're you're mean that you're a mean guy you you you just you know you. You're not being kind but I'm telling you you've got to have that kind of intensity to be successful as an entrepreneur if you're not that's okay okay. You just can't win. I've never met someone who's successful is not intense. I've never seen in. Everyone says they're too intense. Everyone everyone who is super successful is very intense and everybody the L. says there too intense right they get labeled as OCD or anal. You know why you're such a jerk and those the people that win though and then everybody else if you're not it's okay. Let closing anything. But there's a difference between entrepreneurs and enterpreneurs and so you could be very business minded but maybe being the owner or the leader of that organization isn't for you and you just need to find the right spot for that if you're out there today though and you're saying to yourself you know what I don't know I don't know the white way to be intense. We'll get out to workshop. We'll show you at the workshop will teach you how to do this. We'll teach these skills or just watch bill. Belichick might watch him on the sidelines on Youtube. You can see 'em coaching at his is best. He's a brilliant manager. He does a very good job. Just I'm asking you a scale of one to ten today. How intense ten intensity needed and one is the intensity Most people bring to the table. How intense our you've gotta have that kind of laser focused intensity to be a successful manager? Now Bill Belichick Fun fact way number number seventy two the Patriot way. Bill has coaching presence on players from the other team. Luke what say you funny thing Taylor Begin to notice something. He played differently against New England. It was subtle something no one else might have picked up on but you know that feeling of sitting in a rowdy classroom straightens up when the principal walks in. That's how Taylor felt one time. He made a tackle on the Patriots sideline and some Patriots started trash talking. People have no idea just just how much players come after each other verbally on the field. Anyway Taylor turned to say something to the guy and he saw bill check in the background. I see coach Belichick Taylor I said and I don't say a word. I thought. Coach ballot check is here. That's not how I should be. He laughs I didn't want to disappoint Bella check. He says with with wonder and his voice and he wasn't even my coach. Luke you worked at life church where you have an unbelievable leader there in Craig Rachelle a phenomenal nominal leader We spent some time in his physical presence few times actually and does he do that. Same kind of thing you mean the swift with the intensity is what you're saying. Yep He's a very intense focus person. Everything that he does is is is intentional. Out of the mission of why he has an organization come across though as as though like because everybody step up their game when he's in the room. Yeah Oh yeah. Everyone brings one hundred ten percent when he's in the room because he does and that's a standard he sits now John I've noticed this when you first started out as a manager. Nobody got serious when you walked by and we had this conversation a lot because you were one of the them one of them and every time you'd have to hold someone accountable they're like what is it that our circle back to me right. He's so mean. He's so intense. He so mean he just trust me and I can't say I did the perfect job at it but I have to have your back when you're trying to earn the respect of the people. I have to have your your back in John. Wise that so important when the people employees circle back to me and go. Oh the manager so intense. Why do I you have to be intentional about letting the employees no? I have John's back. quit coming to me complaining about him because you're basically complaining about my decision as a leader air to choose him and I'm GonNa immediately tell them what you're saying. Well why if there's somebody out there listening right now who just promoted someone manager and people were not happy. They're saying that they're too intense. Talk to me about that that dynamic and how we eventually you eventually earned their everyone's respect. I become a major from this what everybody views as the same. They kind of resent you for it. And so like you were saying is they'll always come back and just kinda go round. Whoever that manager is and so? So if you're not very intentional about kind of nipping that in the bud then it will always happen. It will always be that way so anytime like you delegate. Something to me. If that wasn't in fixed then I would go and try to do it in the nobody would do it. Nobody would follow. And so the whole system would fall apart because there's not a clear leadership and there's not a clear communication in togetherness of the top people so again if you're out there today and your people don't immediately get more focused when you're in the room that means they don't respect you and you've got ask ask yourself. Do People respond with respect when you walk into the room or are you the guy who jokes everybody and nobody takes you seriously because it's easy to do that very easy to also I say it also like what loosing with Past Craig is he holds himself to a certain level of excellence and then he expects the exact same same from everybody else. And so if you're walking in a room and you don't kind of notice where everybody steps up their game. Then what does that say about your excellence level that you are telling your people around you that this is what you're expecting. I'M GONNA keep up an audio clip from Kanye. West's new album. Jesus is king. which if you don't own it I really do think you should? You should own the album or early as listen to it. And there's a track called Salem and that song in the song say law he says I mean I'm just focused. I mean focus and that is just keep the little line here for you.

"Hey It's Chris as you know sometimes it's good to just take a step back from the day to day onslaught of news and take a broader. Look at the issues. That's what I'm doing each tweet. My podcast why is this happening. Were exploring topics ranging from school segregation to climate change. Well the way that I think it is. Climate Change will be to the twentieth century. What maternity the the nineteenth century? It'll be the central subject of questions about economic justice. Everything you care about in the world will be affected by climate and digging deep with guests uniquely qualified to analyze issues from mass incarceration to race relations. As you know for the first time in our history. The national level whites are on the verge of losing their majority status in twenty years. And I. I think it's no coincidence that our politics are getting more tribal. Join me for. Why is this happening? New episodes every Tuesday wherever you get your podcasts. When you've gone which was recalled as this campaign to disparage or is is playing out? Her replacement is bill. Taylor Bill Taylor had held held the post before had impeccable credentials when it came to to representing the United States in Ukraine. But Taylor of course has emerged as one of the most certainly from the trump critic standpoint. They viewed him as one of the most effective witnesses in these impeachment. Hearings was it. POMPEO's call to get Taylor in there as the replacement Ivanovich. And and what was that relationship like Pompeo and Taylor see. That's a key point. And that's what illustrates the nuance. Here you can see that fused fused approving and seeks out the appointment of an equally seasoned experienced diplomat to replace your age that seems to indicate indicate that he doesn't want a yes person there and so you'll have defenders of Pompeo say hold on if he was so weak on all of this he could have appointed someone else not not someone of stature. That Taylor House so you can see him unable to defend Yovani bench presumably because that would put him completely on the outs with President trump. So we had to bow to that demand to get rid of her but then he tried to salvage the situation by pointing tailored to replace her. That that's how people in the building have perceived it and that's a retired diplomats have perceived that I mean. Yeah it sounds like what you're describing a secretary of state who's sort of torn between between a desire to run the department one way and a sense that there are they imperatives. He has to address that. Take Him in another direction. Yes I think. Compels story is incredibly illustrative of the trump presidency. He's really trying to thread the needle. And it's not clear that it's possible and I think Secretary Mattis when he was defense secretary. How to similar kind of dilemma? You know how do you try to steer the ship of state state in a more constructive direction but still not completely. Have a falling out with your commander in chief and man is found that it was not possible and in the end he resigned and now you see pompeo where what if he had. We could ask the question. What if he had stood up for Maria von which what? What if he done that publicly? What would have happened? You know would trump. Dan said that you know you're disloyal. You're defying meet your out in. We won't know but I think think Taylor appointment is really interesting because it does illustrate him trying to thread the needle and maybe not succeeding. But maybe that was what his intent was. It seems that we're this is also shaken out in terms of his standing in the administration. That at least you know pompeo standing with trump. It seems he's in trump's good graces. I say this because you've got this the situation out in Kansas. There's an open Senate seat up for election in twenty twenty couple. Republicans out. There are already running. There's this big fear sort of in the Republican establishment. That Chris Chris Kobuk. He's the former secretary of state in Kansas. He ran for governor out there last year actually lost as a Republican in Kansas. A bit of a controversial figure. There's a fear among Republicans gins. He'll win the primary and maybe possibly potentially put that Senate seat at risk in the general election and so there was trump last week on Fox and friends basically Gli floating the idea of pompeo former congressman from Kansas. Going back in running for that seat. There's been some speculation. POMPEO might be interested and he came to reinstate look. I'd rather stay where I am but he loves Kansas. He loves the people of Kansas if he thought there was a chance of losing that seat I think he would do that and he would win in L. landslide because they love him. That told me and tell me if I'm wrong here that told me. The pompeo still seems to have trump's confidence I guess is the question. Is that alive live possibility that that Pompeo might step down in the near future and go back to running for office absolutely. It is very much alive possibility. And it's no secret that he's interested and it really probably would be his for the taking. He probably would have a really good chance of winning that seat now. Trump's comment you never you know how to interpret Some of the president's suggestions and the one hand it's a compliment it's also a way of showing him the door politely right because no question the report and the relationship he had with the president earlier has diminished absolutely and there are many indications of that and yes pompeo. AOL has not publicly defended some of these diplomats testifying but he also hasn't necessarily always come to the defense of trump or Giuliani agenda in such a public way. Always so there's no question there's friction there now so any perhaps in trying to please both sides he he ends up irritating both sides on on this You mentioned the condition of the State Department. Wind Pompeo came in when Tillerson was leaving if POMPEII does leave here to ruin for Senate in certain for any other reason If he were to leave. How would you describe the condition of the State Department now? Things are not good. I think that would be a fair statement. David there are very few people in the building who say that things are looking bright and Rosie. Now of course it's bureaucracy of of thousands of people and not everyone is affected of course. But there's no question that morale has been damaged and of course morale wasn't was already low before Pompeo took over so as a whole number number of things happening here first of all. There's an inordinate number vacancies. Many many positions have not been filled. So they have acting people in a lot of roles. Then you had an exodus of senior diplomats mainly earlier in the administration including a a number of women number of of minorities and then there's another other data point here the number of young people who are taking the foreign service exams for difficult exam to try to get into the foreign service. That number has dropped so the pool of people people applauding as declined. And then I think in the end the woods what's really the key here is watching. And hearing this testimony money from these experienced career diplomats who are very nonpartisan figures and having to hear and see what happened where these diplomats were. were seeing this Iraq. Irregular Shadow foreign policy being carried out where the professionals weren't being consulted. And maybe even being undermined so I think a combination of all of that. It has really damaged. The outlook for people work over there in Dan so many times. I've been asking you in this In this interview What pump say about this? What's his answer to that? And the answer here comes back that we we just haven't heard much from him. We haven't heard a real full thorough accounting of all of this. I'm curious what your senses are. We going to hear Something more comprehensive from him before this. The impeachment drama is over we'll we'll Democrats seek to compel that from him or is what he has said so far going to stand. I'm sure that somewhere. Some time he will want to have his say and maybe that will come when he leaves and goes to run for the seat in Kansas. But in the meantime he's being accused of obstruction by the Democrats because the State Department has refused to hand over a lot of documents as really refused to cooperate for for the most part and it is ironic. This is the guy who ran the Benghazi and quarrier congressmen and demanded large amounts of documents and testimony from everyone including the Secretary of state at the time Hillary Clinton Clinton testified for many hours and hundreds of thousands of documents and it over so people have pointed pointed out. This is a certain contradiction here. Dan Lewis National Security and global affairs reporter for the Investigative Unit. NBC News Dan. Thank you for joining us. Thank you And there's some other news buzzing around the impeachment inquiry that we are watching this week Devon newness the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee who has been a central figure in these impeachment hearings reportedly played a direct role in efforts to dig up dirt on Joe Biden in Ukraine that is according to live Parnis one of Rudy Giuliani's associates in the Ukrainian pressure campaign. didn't happen presence Lynskey didn't announce he was going to investigate charisma or the bidens it into a press conference and say on to investigate the vines we're gonna that's the gate is not he didn't tweet about it and you just told the ranking member he didn't do the see an interview and announce he's going to investigate there is not or the blinds SO three face to face meetings it doesn't come up no linkage whatsoever press is he doesn't announce it before the eight is released on the eleventh and yet you said you have a clear understanding that those two things are going to happen the money was going to get released but not until there was investigation and that in fact didn't happen so what I'm wondering is did you get this clear understanding don also said he talked to prisons Lynskey and Mister your mark and told them that although this was not a quid pro quo if presence when she did not clear things up in public we would be at a stalemate that was the that was one point it was also the case Mister Morrison talked here right no workers as investors son and also told me that he recognized that it was a mistake to have told the Ukrainians that only the meeting with the present in the and they all office was held up on the in order to get these investigations no it was not just the beating it was also the security system that is everything so those two those two discussions nine okay Nasser Taylor recalls that Mister Morrison told investor Taylor that I told Mister Morris and I could date this message to miss Yar mac on September first twenty nineteen in connection with vice president pence is visit to Warsaw and a meeting with president the Lynskey this is clarification former time investor Taylor recalls Mister Morrison told a master tailor that I told Mister Morrison I convey this message to miss your mom on September first twenty nineteen connects a vice presidential visit to Warsaw and a meeting with president Lynskey we got six people haven't for conversations in one sentence and you just told me this is where you got your clear understanding which I I mean even though you had three opportunities with presence unless you plan to tell you know what we're gonna do these investigations to get the eight didn't tell you three different times never makes an announcement never tweets about never doesn't see an interview best you were on the call were you present you did listen to president trump's called has less he's call I did not you never talk to keep a sample of any I never did it ever met the president that's correct yeah three meetings it was let's get it didn't come up and two of those they'd never heard about as far as I know and preservation reason for presents list you never made an announcement this is this is what I can't believe in your their star witness well first of all he goes on to say by the way in response to that star witness crack I'm not a star witness I'm here and he basically defended himself by saying I'm here to give the facts as I know them to give the information that you have asked for to get the content is Jim Jordan on speed I can barely understand what I was that was a tactic he was trying to do that to try to make the bass looks stupid because the ambassador was tried and that when he was reading a statement he made it very clear I gotta tell you I think the guys on speed first off what are the rules of the house he's actually made himself useful Hey Christine in terms of dress code yes so from what I was able to research when you're in the house chambers or the speaker's lobby you should be wearing a suit jacket and tie if your men yes when wearing pants blazer is required in the Senate house rules call for appropriate attire so apparently because they're not in the Senate he's he's okay he's not allowed to wear a hat or a hood however now to where hell will hoods goose hunting help you cycle boy not to wear it look at the good guy looks all rolling it up I'm I'm sure with this but anyway let's go to back to the phones it's John in Chester welcome the Curtis and she had said Juliet here at W. ABC John hi thanks for taking my call I just want to make the small point that Jordan as you sitting here cross examining two people that I personally view is as heroes with their service to the country well way back to win including Vietnam yeah this guy is a four this guy is a former assistant wrestling coach that when he had the chance to do the right thing and whistle blow there are numerous reports and witnesses saying that he did not and that is in reference to the mall stations of all those booty wrestlers back when he was an assistant coach and they all went to Jordan said this is what's going on and he didn't say a word now he denies that today but there's a lot of credible evidence that he knew just like everyone else knew that that medical doctor was molesting those wrestling yes yes this is the guy who's attacking these honorable listeners that will take you know the truck was following his own personal reelection interest in contravention of US interests exactly look at look at you and pushing in and this is true of any high school wrestlers of those going to collegiate wrestling we're not talking about the performance in W. W. E. or the other form he was like it's a W. W. you sort of yeah look look thank you you get down on your hands and knees he grabbed the guy by the ankle he grabbed the guy by the neck all right we behave top it as we are now you know because you craning his the high school wrestlers are what I don't care if they consume it we okay I mean if we can we look at is I Corinthians and high school wrestlers wrestlers in general I apologize and I use a bulging out of his head and did you ever go to a gym and you try to get to rack you know and use the weights will wrestle it is a good way for me to say come on pal anyway let's go to loads in any of the broad interesting just some interesting observations that you made I'm telling you cycle boys but anyway let's go to any user of our country welcome to gente Juliet yours truly courteously ready Hey I don't guide that I try to talk face he's not on the they've given many Republican five minutes to pull one of the other guys because forty five minutes no that's not true that's not true Eddie that is not true right yeah okay so so the Republicans get forty five minutes and the Republican the Democrats get forty five minutes of the Republicans get five any ages one issue one question put aside this why don't they make the guy wear a jacket they watch the show with biceps downstairs to one of the girls I know that we could sell it I'm telling you man who was critical of the M. Intel sure would you put on your jacket police what I mean he's so little what do they they they're afraid that he's going to beat him up look he's got that psychotic look about him even when they called over to the side bar you know during the break cycles all hyped up we had to I'm telling you man he's on screen I mean to you ease on speed let's go to the phones it's Joan who's calling from New Jersey what can the Curtis and Janet said Gillian here at W. B. C. John I think it's Joanne but yeah okay that's you that's me well I have to tell you watching this this morning especially Taylor it was just a mostly here say what he heard from what he heard from other people I actually read the Volcker deposition and it was also here say so this guy so far the Democrats have not shown anything other than a lot of hearsay and earlier if you didn't I don't know if you caught it but one of the Republicans objected to something and then shift politely said that if the witness will feel we have the evidence to support what he was saying he didn't have to answer the question but she did not make that clear when Taylor was speeding and so Republicans didn't have a chance to interject so that's all I had all right well I mean I guess you know we I'm not I'm not disagreeing with her I'm what I'm saying is though that ambassador Taylor I'm like getting there so many ambassadors involved here ambassador Taylor talked extensively I mean I've got this the statement is about nineteen or twenty pages he talked extensively about specific text messages S. extensively about first person well versed elevens ambassador Taylor is not the key witness key witness is the person who actually listen to the cold kernel version it was on and was attached to the west wing of the White House show will be very interesting to see if he ties up any of the loose ends because he had more access to the president and his aides in anyone else depended on the colonel then men wasn't having the the private meetings I mean I I don't agree I mean I think he's a very important witness but people like can't and people like Taylor or people who are able to corroborate right now what was really going on behind the scenes one call is not going to give us everything that no one's been man was also the go to person when they needed someone to speak with Ukrainian officials because he said he knows them he thinks like them he will be able to tell us exactly what's going on so I believe he'll ultimately be the key witness but then again a lot of witnesses to go yet a number is one eight hundred eight four ray W. ABC let's go to Steve in Rocklin welcome the jetset Juliet mutually courteously CB thank you Juliette thank you Curtis okay first of all you know one question I have just a general observation I'm really wondering what Juliet family background has to do with the impeachment with the poor we think what what's happening here that's just a general thing I want to put out their number one all right the other thing is that when people call in civil what politics as usual no it's not it is that if it was politics as usual this wouldn't be happy being all right and everyone needs to be reminded that the person one of the people who was mostly dance moving forward with this hello see but Donald Trump Donnie made bold moves you gotta have everything Donnie baseball of course that warning cost the look I mean I.

"For you know they can do when with testimony begins and you know of course you've got William Taylor bill Taylor is going to testify you know they want to do the price is right the that they should what what they could do is something like the democratic sure that's the that's the come on down music the first four contestants then they roll into the of the price is right music so yeah the networks going to preempt ABC NBC CBS they gonna run these hearing so the soap operas you know whatever programming runs the networks are going to carry this as well as of course cable news gonna run this as well ought to be a pretty crazy week Wednesday and Friday and we're here giving you the world according to Schmidt analysis you know what the storm we had a goal that just a bit and I have some good uplifting things for veterans day from the president today and of course well a little musical surprise coming up in just a bit you don't want to start with your something that we have discussed in the past yeah we've talked about this on numerous occasions on the show over the last one three years or so two years yeah maybe three years already your cell and I was reminded about it again today I was reading an op ed that Bernie Goldberg wrote that was published on the hills website and I was reading this piece I was like yeah you know what we've talked about that before maybe I should bring this back up you know this this is an example of some trump brilliance now whether you agree or disagree I like this is your brilliant and the strategy is brilliant it doesn't work on everyone it works on let's just say for conversation's sake half but probably less than half and it's the use of the term fake news and you know I'm glad I was reminded of this because I've probably talked about this thing a dozen times on the program more more in twenty sixteen twenty seventeen or you know what whatever whatever the story first you know came out but even before that I had discussed about the phrase fake news you know if I have time I will get into the entomology what is the real history of fake news what's the history of the verbiage the terminology fake news and its use hold on I'm gonna put that on on the back burner for a second here but what I was reminded of in this Bernie Goldberg piece was the conversation that Leslie Stahl hand with Donald Trump and this was back in the summer of twenty sixteen this is prior to the election and yeah I had Lesley Stahl who recounted a story where after the end of the I'm sure if you wish that you have this on video and we already talked to get we we've been talking to thank you news and and the terminology in the use of fake news this is during the campaign this during the presidency we we've been talking about this for quite some time and it really is fascinating and there is an absolute degree of brilliance here because what Leslie stall had recounted is that after the interview and wrapped after she'd interviewed trump leave them off camera apparently says that the constant bashing of the media was bothersome to her that she was getting tired of the bashing of the media and the story was that Leslie Stahl from C. B. S. asked trump why do you keep doing what why the repetition you you're you're bashing the media over and over and over and over again and this is one problem allegedly told Leslie Stahl from CBS that the reason why he bashes the media over and over and over again and again they are fake news that came out of that why and trump told Leslie stall the reason why I do it is to this credit the media did the media because when there is unfavorable news that the media reports he says that they won't believe you so that's I mean it's it's a it sure it's a propagandist shrouded G. but you can't discount the fact that that is a brilliant strategy whether you agree or disagree you might be your yelling and screaming at the tactic however yeah if you have an analytical mind you at least have to understand what it does not not everyone buys into it of those that dislike trump they have they don't buy into it but there is a large portion of the country and there are tens and tens of millions obviously of trump supporters that they're on board and this this is an elixir I mean it works brilliantly that's why it's broke into the brilliance of trump and the phraseology of fake news and bashing the media and remember if if your regular listen to the show you know I I've also been I think very honest I've been up front and I've been very clear what I've said that inconvenient news or non popular or positive news if if something is not positive for the president or he doesn't like it doesn't mean that it's always fake news but the president's right he keeps saying the same thing over and over again and and people will believe certain things and this case it's worked very well for president trump and for that it it again needs to be recognized as a brilliant strategy it has worked immensely as I've got my criticisms of the mainstream media you know clearly the media NIT picks and they go after every possible thing on from them many times trop makes it easy many times prop hands it up to the media on a platter which he could curtail that and not give them as much ammunition hurled back at him but I I again when I saw this for like you know what it's been awhile since I've talked about that Leslie Stahl peace as the others the story's been floating around for quite awhile where yeah she said why do you keep bashing the media over and over again and and from saying to this credit you to discredit the media so when a story that is negative is written that people won't believe you absolutely I wonder if that particular strategy was that the it was all trumped was there assistance on that was there's some Steve Bannon implant a curious on the for the genesis the origin of again trump using fake news and what what what was the strategy on that and again the constant.

"This guide build Taylor Taylor who was yeah we sold said by what he heard from her off by now phone call to you well it's all bad so remember Victor Davis Hanson is peace we're dealing with a bunch of people who have not achieved what they've achieved on the basis of merit it's labels titles connections the last thing and they're not they're not the best and brightest they are presented as the best and brightest they're presented as the pinnacle of achievement that best in their class the best at what they do they're not how what have you what you want to be heard about bill Taylor bill Taylor was the guy they put all their eggs in his basket bill Taylor was the guy until till Taylor came along all the other witnesses and then a Mahler report everything and kind of been a dud but bill Taylor first we have the whistle blower he blew up when trump revealed and release the transcripts here comes bill Taylor William I'm sorry with Vietnam Taylor who provided no no information don't doubt me I don't care if this sounds like it's at variance with what you've heard bill Taylor have no new information bill Taylor's testimonials been contradicted by everybody involved John Radcliffe made mincemeat of bill Taylor in cross examination but chef will not release those transcripts now there is further evidence that Taylor's motives might be suspect really that somebody trying to rat out trop might have impure motives why who would think that well it turns out the estimable MBS steam room to build Taylor land by the way I don't enjoy doing this logs I wish I wish this rock got wasn't true I wish we really did have great people in charge of our government I wish we really did have patriots and not globalists I wish we really did have people accomplish things with merit rather that are there because of connections pedigree breeding labels whatever I really don't enjoy this but I know this stuff is all true I've been I just know it's true let's leave it at that turns out that the estimable build Taylor landed an election observer delegation in Ukraine back in April for a George Soros funded organization that had a hunter Biden only it's council now that kind of changes things doesn't here's bill Taylor he's been presented to you as an American patriot he's not a politician he doesn't care one way or the other but he heard drunk on that phone call what he was distressed he was very very alarmed he was very upset that a president would be asking for a foreign government to dig up dirt on political change so when she went and he could no longer stay quiet he had to do his duty many are no called forward and he had to release until only the Democrats twenty new well it turns out that is not the way he's been pretty may be a fine guy fraud maybe the guy you know you know you want to go to a deep state baseball game I have a couple beers with and get some power balls who knows but he is not the guy you have been told he is he is a partisan he worked for George Soros he will lead at election observer delegation in Ukraine back in April for a George Soros funded organization that employed a hunter Biden so this kind of changes things trump's getting close to finding out what hunter Biden and Joe Biden did in Seoul the Biden protectors need to pop up the Biden protectors need to show up but they need to be presented as deep trench people totally alarmed at what this and competent total total disarray of humanity known as Donald Trump this news comes on top of the story that we had last week that was that bill Taylor had met with a staffer from Adam ships committee actually a chef staff for a personal chef staffer in August right around the time the so called whistle blower was filing is complain I'm telling you bill Taylor has been in the witness pipeline chef arranges the whistle blower the whistle blower comes forward after having been guided by chefs the whistle blower then goes to the I. G. to keep ship out of the equation the trump releases the transcript and blows everything sky high so Taylor is next up to counter all of that as an impeccable man of deep honor and integrity who okay no longer stay quiet after watching way bombing mission of Donald Trump on a daily basis and it turns out the guy has accepted payment done work for George Soros has met with Adam Schiff staffers in August at the same time the whistle blower was filing is complaint now that the two of them the whistle blower and bill Taylor both work with the Atlantic council you're saying what's that the Atlantic council is a think tank a leftist thank tank funded by charisma the energy firm that employs hunter Biden so bill Taylor is thick as thieves with the whistle blower with Adam Schiff with the Soros organization and with hunter Biden and two different outfits of hunter Biden's on okay that's bill Taylor from the Washington examiner lawyer for CI a official accusing trump on Ukraine working with the Biden on two thousand seven whistle blower complaint now what are the odds of Lewis it turns out my friends that the lead attorney representing the so called C. I. A. whistle blowers a man named Andrew brachii he wants a system to a whistle blower who work with Biden's staff to accuse George W. bush of failing to provide armored vehicles to the troops in Iraq as the story notes was some lower Franz Gabriel a marine corps civilian ground combat advocate what a marine corps so very in ground combat advocate that's the whistle blower emission bush didn't give the troops enough tanks business the whistle blower went public in two thousand seven with a now disputed claim that the our military ignored requests for mine resistant vehicles that would have saved Iraqi civilians which the Democrats back in two thousand save in a seven were blaming on George W. bush in fact then senator Biden tried to use these charges to force bush to win the war and Lowe's reelection meanwhile all of those allegations have since been refuted but of course the news media have never bothered to reporting that they've got a new credible American integrity Heathrow Andrew Becky hi it turns out he's the lead attorney representing a was more it's a lead attorney that shift today would not allow the Republicans to question it was the attorney that shift today was telling me not to answer Republican questions and then army officer who heard trump's Ukraine call reported concerns this is the name of the day lieutenant colonel Alexander vin demon he's appearing before ships committee and as always we've been told for several days he's going to be the witness who's gonna put the final nail in trump's impeachment cough and what what happened bill Taylor I thought that's what bill Taylor was something must have gone wrong now we've got Alexander Vendramin lieutenant colonel army officer same thing he can't sit by any longer and watch trump abuse the powers of the presidency of counter what lady from problem it must come forward he can no longer stay silent in the face of this outbreak van Diemen's testimony is focused on trump's phone calls and Zelinsky the Ukrainian president which Vendramin seven could undermine US national security summer now back to another guy claiming delivered to trump phone calls that we've now seen the transcript for which says that that phone call could have undermined US national security in fact The New York Times even says that this guy didn't even could be the person who approached the first was full blown in panic with his fears about the call but we have the transcript of the call it's clear there was nothing on toward about it so this testimony is going to provide nothing it's just more of the same illusion this guy Vinland he cable for Taylor all my god I can't see like yeah like it is a longer I get a bike what I'm hearing and so he might be the person who approach the first was a member that he might be the whistle blower who then told the whistleblower who went and blew the whistle now the New York times says at least someone got a draft of his opening statement can you imagine the New York times got a draft of Inman's opening saves that another trap a journalism for yeah and guess what The New York Times says that Vendramin twice registered internal objections about how trump was three eighteen year old crane out of what he called a sense of duty his sense of duty would not permitted to sit idly by and listen to how trump was treating your claim and that he will testify that he watched with alarm as outside the influencers began pushing a false narrative about Ukraine which was counter to the consensus view of American national security the staff was what had a view of Ukraine this guy heard trump taken a tacky little Ike and said this is not how we do it doesn't the president determines how we do it not you not the establishment the president determines how we deal with Ukraine.
