"Is it a smaller move to get a second another ball winner and other guy for to play alongside Keaton parks or is it ending the James and loan early? Because he's now not making the game day squad for rangers. Since Giovanni von Braun was fired, sends, has not really been a factor for that team. And his loan only goes another three months. So why not just end it early, get him in there, get him in the lineup because he fixes a lot of that, doesn't he? Yeah, I wish he would have had that earlier, Dave. That's the point that you could have made. I would also throw in by the way. Alfredo morelos was awesome 2021 playoffs to win MLS cup. He only started 20 games that year. He only started 20 games last year. He has not consistently played for them. He's been up and down in his performances. I don't know that he's even a fix all for all of it for NYCFC. Also throwing out there, tavon gray is probably not a right back. Would love to see him get to play center back. He does not comfortably shape his body out wide. He doesn't really create chances. It's not his game, and I don't know why. I understand saying, oh, we want to give a young player a chance. We don't have space at center back. Alex Collins is gone. They gave a DP spot to his center back.

"And those are the types of things that he has struggled with so far this year. So I look at Josh Allen and I see a player that could give Isaiah wins and problems. They might need to, if Allen gets rolling and pass rushing is very much a repetitive rhythmic thing. So if Josh Allen gets rolling, you might see some brand emboldened chips. You might see some delayed releases by the tight ends, making sure they stay in and give a shiver to Josh Allen before they release into the pattern, things like that because he's somebody that could give win some problems. The other name and I know he hasn't had a good year, but now that did Isaiah McKenzie, tavon Austin is like low key, sneaky in this game, I feel like because he's got a very similar skill set to Isaiah McKenzie, right? A return specialist with good speed. You look at that game plan and if Daryl bevel and the Jaguars are are trying to ruin New England's postseason hopes a little bit here this week, they're gonna look at that game plan by the Buffalo Bills and they're gonna say, well, we have a four three return specialist and tavon Austin. So we can just run across the field too, right? He doesn't need to run a great route. He just needs to run across her. And in a lot of ways, I think that this is a really good test for miles Bryant for the Patriots secondary for the Patriots linebackers who I thought were extremely passive and I'll throw Kyle duggar in that conversation as well. Extremely passive not physical, weren't willing to jam or redirect receivers and just let Mackenzie run free in the open in the middle of the field with no resistance whatsoever. If they let tavon Austin do that, then I think he's got some speed and some juice that he can maybe get across the field in a similar way. Now I know he hasn't played a lot either with COVID back. He started in lavish kitchen all its place last week. So I don't know how much of it came on Austin. They're really going to use. But he looks to me like a player that is got a similar build and speed and skill set in general as somebody like Isaiah McKenzie and they I feel like the patrons took Isaiah McKenzie lightly last week. I think they looked at it and they said, no Gabriel Davis, no Cole Beasley. We got this, right? Let's Stefon Diggs go for 200 yards and we'll be fine. And they forgot about Isaiah McKenzie. I think one of the things that really stood out to you about Mackenzie's day, you looked at that route chart that next gen put up and all he's doing is running crossers. He ran, he must have run 20 crossers. It's the same crosser. It's the same. It's not like he's running different variations. The author from right to left, crossed her from left to right. Cross her from right to the whole thing is just going straight across the field every single time. And eventually you're going to start to hit on some of those when there is no resistance in the middle of the field. There's no help in the middle of the field and you're asking miles Brian to just track him coming across the field..

"Clearly I am not alone when it comes to asking players to stick to one position rather than juggle multiple. I remember a few years back when the packers did not have any running backs on the roster and they asked one of their whiteouts time Montgomery to make a transition to being a fill in running back. He had some success as a running back in the years since he's been asked to both run the ball and catch it. But he has not been the highly versatile athlete that people thought he would become. He is just an okay running back and wide receiver instead of a good player at either position. The NFL may not the NFL may like athletic players. But they do not want athletes. Thank you for your content as always ultimate a there's a lot to unpack there. It's very long, but I think a lot of stuff I can break down here. First of all, I'm not talking about cordell Patterson or tavon Austin. I'm talking about guys who are and I'm not talking about guys who were only okay at running the football or catching them. I'm talking about guys who are so the NFL is taking concepts and ideas from college football. In college football got those ideas from high school football. And so if you want to learn, and I talk to Dan Casey about this on my podcast. Go back, go through the day and KC episode. There's a couple of them. Wow back. High school football influences college. Because that's where they can experiment trial kinds of crazy stuff. And then college takes from so college takes from high school and the NFL dates from college. Things trickle up. In the football world, from high school to college to the NFL. And we're seeing more and more. In the high school world, people saying, I don't really care what position this guy plays..

"I you know. I i we. He talks about supporting each other supporting the movement against white supremacy. And i agree. And i think that's why it's important to watch this special to get further understanding as to what is actually going on and i have the most but i admit i. I haven't seen the entire special all the way through. And it's something i'm gonna have to do. And i mean i can't speak on these issues. Obviously i'm a white straight woman. But like obviously i support the you know pro black movement and i support the pro trans movement and white supremacy can go. I need to actually like have the context for it before i make judgment on it. I mean like even brings up the women's suffrage movement on how there was a black woman. China like hey. Why don't we do this together. And they were like no no. No feminist movement leaves out black women and women are so much of a the civil rights act in coming into the sixties going later i know and then when people always celebrate women's rights to vote like not only got tavon actual. Yeah i think for me. It's you know. I've been reading a lot of online commentary I haven't watched this special either. I think for me. The voices that i appreciate seeing amplified are specifically black trans individuals and hearing their perspective of what dave chapelle said and specifically you know. I read one comment saying Lgbtq plus encompasses such a wide variety of human beings of all races densities and genders and orientations and It's important that none of those voices are left out and all those voices are heard and so. I think you know when it comes to stuff like this. I think it's important to do your research into herrell the flame. Lynn is a black trans comedian. And she defends dave chapelle. she's black entering. So why don't you listen to her. She's on both sides. She understands the struggle of both people of what that means and hearses. So i have a question. Didn't that flicks walk out against him or instant. Support of our staff. Members and netflix work. Flakes. who are walking out because this special is on netflix. They'll take it out. It's very transphobic like we don't want this here. This isn't you know this is as it's and i'm not gonna lie. There are some points in it with that i felt even kind of weird listening to and But you know i felt. Ooh that was kind of like that was that was kind of harsh. But it's his art. That's what he does and the thing is you know. We're talking about like evolving as well as comedians and. It's he's done that he he doesn't call anybody out of their identity. You know he he. He's very respectful in the entire thing. And you know also what is art if it doesn't challenge you like if it doesn't like us discussing this like honestly i kind of compare davison powell talking about gender identity to at least make using his art to challenge people to luna's x. challenging people on sexual preference in sexual identity they challenge the conversation and they create that to happen and just being truth. He's being truthful. I'm just reading this right now. From dave chappelle that he talking about Being transgender and he said i wouldn't consider myself transphobic. Because i'm not even sure what that term means. Do discriminate against somebody. Because they're trans. I would like to think absolutely not. It's not something that i'm going to say. I clearly understand this that and the other. I'm not an obstructionist of anybody's lifestyle so to me. It seems like.

"Be anticipated, which are players that are frontline players getting knocked out of your line up here. And when you see like all these running backs that have been knocked out and Jake Aid Amazon Justice Hill That means a guy like Tyson Williams, who spent a year last year on their practice squad as a running back at BYU, who signed as a college free agent who had a heck of a preseason. You're up, man. It's your time. And this is we've seen people all of a sudden rise to the occasion in these kind of situations, and he's going to have to deliver and Levian Bell is going to have to deliver on the defensive side of the ball. Look, Marcus Peters I've described him as one of the greatest thief that the NFL has ever seen as far as his ability to rob quarterback's blind, But the Ravens were carrying 11 defensive backs on their roster. That's what that was the strongest position group on their team. So that means a veteran like Jimmy Smith, who just started practicing again after spraining an ankle. You're up, Jimmy. They're gonna need to get him healthy as quickly as possible. Anthony Abran, another guy who they drafted in the fourth round at Obama back in 2000 and 18. You're up Tavon Young you playing the slot, But you're up. These guys all have to now come to the rescue and really raise their level of play and play prominent key roles for a team that But they just have to keep things rolling here because this is a team that's supposed to be contending in the division and contending in the conference. No question about it again. Another major blow to Baltimore's backfield after the Ravens lost running back J. K. Dobbins to a torn A C on the pre season finale. August 28 Justice Hill heard the Achilles September 9th veteran running back Devontae Freeman is joining the practice squad for the Ravens after they added Levian Bell to that same squad. How about the impact of Peter's For that secondary. Jamison Hensley covers the Ravens for ESPN. He had this insight. What you can't replace is Marcus Peters ball skills, and he's the ball on the defense. He has 31 interceptions since 2015. That's that believes the NFL by a mile and I think the next closest is 22. So you can replace him as far as having a guy that has experience has talent. What you can't replace. Is the turnovers that Marcus Peters creates. And I think that's what really takes a toll here for the Ravens. They feel like they can kind of withstanding and put a quality player in Marcus Peters place. What they can't have is a guy that makes the exact same place as much as Peter's Hensley among the guests.

"But no, they like They will, um Which you know, whatever. I'm just, you know, I'm just trying to go through the position here. Um It's tough because there's a lot of safeties. Um So Maybe we could be freed from our Marcel Harris. Hell, that's that's what I was thinking. Maybe, like veteran Tavon Wilson beat him out. But, you know, we thought that would happen. Like last year, Um, with the guy who I can't remember his name and didn't play it all. So you know, it shows that we Um, who who Surprise you. What? When you went out to O t a s, and you're looking around, and I mean my guys already Jimmy. He looked like he was slinging. It looked pretty darn good. I liked what I saw from Lansing and rookie minicamp. Anybody surprised you would all just kind of laying eyes on him for the first time in a minute? E was sort of surprised. Um, you know, Elijah Mitchell had a lot of distance the receiver again like we We've got such limited reps. But I really really liked the way he had out of the backfield. Um He's gonna beat somebody on a wheel route, and it's going to be embarrassing this year. Um, like if you get him, and it's sort of the Kyle you struck thing where he sort of sneaks to the side and then goes down the sideline. And then there's just like a pocket of space and he gets wide open into Mitchell's going to get that sort of play, and it's going to be really embarrassing for probably a linebacker who shouldn't be covering him. He sums Use incredibly fast, and he's so he's not his tiny on DSA. Oh, he's tough to tackle to, um, we're sort of like, you know, one of those like politico. What is it machines where it sort of bounces around. Sort of like that, from the price is right tackle him and he's going to be really fun to watch. Um, you know, soon he stays healthy because running back is a horrible position where you just get injured all the time. I have no idea why animal we're gonna play it like a legitimately at this point, like you're never gonna get paid. I mean, I guess you get paid millions of dollars, but never like tens of millions of dollars. Unless unless you play for the Dallas Cowboys. You know, like the way that they've done, where he moster is pretty much how every team should be treating their running backs and that is to do them dirty at all points, just what it is. There might be a conversation we had about. Most are not making the team but is that is that way too far out because they do have if sermon looks really good, right? Yeah, like they're going to get rid of most of it at the end of the year anyway, maybe they get out ahead of it. It's not out of the realm of possibility. Um, and if they get really desperate need to create money for Julio Jones, and they really don't want to touch Armstead, and they really don't want to touch Ward. Um There's there's definitely are out there, but he's still so damn good when he's healthy, like it's It's something where he paints three million And he is like what he showed in 2019. I don't. I think it's just irresponsible to cut him. Um, but it's not out of the round the possibility, especially if he picks up an injury in camp or something. Here like this is just gonna be a thing all your long. We've got a deeper running back room. Maybe Wilson is coming back quicker than expected. Um, I don't I really don't think that happens, but it's you can't rule it out. Are you feeling about the defensive line? Obviously, that is where this team's identity has lied for years now, and we have a new defensive coordinator here in Santa Claire and S O. Maybe things have changed in the depth without Nick Bosa there. It doesn't feel a strong as one would inherently believe you don't have Nick Bo say he's still in Florida. How do you feel about just kind of the Overall rotation that could be happening there on the defensive line going into a season where they're expecting to win, and if they're gonna win, they need to be able to get to the quarterback. I like it. I think it's pretty deep. I mean, you could make an argument. They could add another defensive end. Um, but I think it's fairly good rotation. You know Eric Armstead. That is best when you know there are other people on the line doing things which you know is maybe a reason why you're like, Why did we pay him $21 million a year but pointed dream on Green scenario. Right. He's not going to be as bad as he was last year. I just think there that was, you know, I was talking to a couple of players the other day, and it's like you really like, kind of forget. Weird and just awful. Last season was like this room, a mental health perspective. They had to go to Arizona on short notice. They were literally living in their hotel rooms, not like able to leave for anything other than playing football. And then they sucked. Oh, you know, that's that's hard. That's hard to know. You're right, man. That that is a good way. It is incredible. I will maintain. I think that as more time as we get fully out of this bad boy, we don't have to wear a mask and anything is kind of ridiculous. We think back on Oh, that weird time. And the world was on fire, like will be like. Damn. How did that team not completely rupture? I mean, they kept playing hard and they had, like, five weeks with nothing going on. They really did on DSA. I got off on attention. You're asking my defensive and it's a good chance that I appreciated them. Right it is. It's just a really rough season last year, so I am willing to like that. A guy like arms It's and flack is. He was one of the few guys that's that's stayed healthy and you're just sort of plane. Do you think he got a chance? But you know, deep down that it's over pretty early. Ondo. So I do like their deaths this year..

"And it was something that I was doing as well because my team, the Eagles drafted Alabama one too. The Patriots drafted Alabama one Sewers well, 10 overall draft picks six first round draft picks Russell. I mean, it's time for them actually going to the NFL. And start playing because the kind of talented they have year after year the wide receivers that they have year after year. It's not fair going against most of the other teams in college football. No, it's completely ridiculous. And again, you know, when you see the high school recruiting every year, it's like, Oh, Alabama got five of the top 20. So it makes sense that they're doing this, but we've also seen other teams get high end recruits and just not develop on. You know, I'm thinking of like Michigan, where you get a guy like Donovan People's Jones and he ends up being 1/6 round pick. Where is Alabama? You know, they're really developing these guys and optimizing their their skill set. So Yeah, and you mentioned the wide receivers. The Eagles got Devante Smith Jail and waddle to the Dolphins. Um, they had 44 1st round wide receivers and counting on that 2019 2020 rosters. So and John Michi is the guy for next year. We'll see if he goes in the first round, so potential down five first round wide receivers on one depth chart in college. It's crazy. Who do you like better of Waddle and Devante Smith? So in terms of overall impact and for fantasy, I think I think Smith has a little higher floor lot. All obviously has the speed and the immense upside, but we've seen these high end athletes. Not necessarily translate over the last couple decades for wide receiver guys like Ted Ginn Tavon Austin, Um, you know a bunch of others that they run for two are low for three years, but Are they going to be fantasy guys, or are they going to be more real life value to the football team? So I like Smith more from a fantasy perspective. Um, you know, obviously the PM I We were joking about this last time I came on, but Um, such a talented skill set so I'd lean that He figures it out. I think Devante Smith higher volume receiver, and then Waddle is your bigger play receiver. It just depends on like, if you're looking for more consistency, I think fantasy wise, you're gonna get more out of Smith on a week to week basis than you would with bottle. All right, So let's actually Russell Clay. Let's talk about fantasy here as it relates to the draft. E. I mean, who's worth it? Who's worth early? You're looking in the your drafts of the rookies traditionally had a rookie's end up working out when it comes to fantasy in their first year. So I do on article. That fantasy. You're every year kind of breaking down NFL draft rounds and historically which rookies produced. And, uh, spoiler alert. The players drafted earlier tend to do pass. I mean, if if, if you're looking for a rookie to produce, it's almost always on day one or day to you get a few guys here and there. You get a James Robinson or You know what Jordan Howard a few years ago, something like that. But most of the time, it's going to be those 1st and 2nd round picks. So you know for quarterback I look at Trevor Laurence and He's not going into a normal situation for a number one pick. He has two great weapons at wide receiver and DJ Shark and with discussion all, um you know, he got his buddy Travis et end to go over. There was a great weapon, both as a receiver and runner so he can do a lot of work from there, and it's kind of a pretty good offense for Lawrence, and you're one, so I I really like him. But beyond the cha ki answers, um I'm very curious how the Jets deal with Elijah Moore in year one, because I love that guy thought he was a first round caliber prospect, and for him the land in a spot where Kind of a wide open depth chart in terms of upside, Corey Davis and Denzel Memes, but I think more can emerge there with the young quarterback sack Wilson. Nausea, Harris, you think Still, if you think running the football and the other guys that they've tried when, when James Conners went down, never ended up, working out very well, right, So it seems like he's prepared and ready. To get most of the carries the lion's share of the carries. Where I mean is he's going to be a high draft pick right off the bat? Yes. Yes, Yes. So I like him or long term. So for those People on dynasty leagues. I really love nausea could be an ugly year one just because and you know they were talking about this on the broadcast and the NFL draft it. It's kind of one of those things where You know Harris. If he doesn't have the line that's going to limit him. You know the efficiency in running, not going to be there so we may see a year one, where he averages less than four yards per carry. It gets those 50 receptions and those touchdowns, which that's kind of what drives fantasy value, So I see him as a great receiver. Also throughout their path, Friar Muse. I love that pick for them in the second round. Should help with blocking, and I think he'll be able to make an impact. Your one Russell Clay, it's at Russell J. Clay on Twitter fantasy guru is thesis I to everything that he does his follow me on Twitter. And you can you can check it out. All right. Last thing. How do you think Aaron Rodgers situation plays itself out. And do you think That the Packers are going to regret not trying to make a draft a trade with where things are right now. Selfishly. I'd love for him to go to the Broncos. Just because you know they have another Alabama wide receiver Jerry Judy. Over there. No. A fan Courtland Sutton. On now, Giovanni Williams, so I'd love to see a high end quarterback and Denver Why it seems like this is going to be a standoff. And if I were to guess today I mean, Ah, hold out. At least the first half of the year Seems Seems like the best that because the Packers that'd be really tough for them to trade him, So I'm leaning hold out right now. But you know, trade would be welcome to the Broncos for May. Yeah, I mean, like, right now, the story is wherever he goes not staying in in in Green Bay, and I agree with you. It seems like that. You know, some guys, you might be able to calm down. But Aaron Rodgers seems like the wrong guy to bet on that he's gonna change his mind and he's not gonna happen. To be gone. That could get really messy and ugly up there, and I don't know that this deal was really on the table for the San Francisco was offer. It was offering that third pick third overall pick and more to get Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay. I don't know how Green Bay says noted that I get it. They still are saying, we're going to make it work. We're going to make it work. He's not 30 years old Aaron Rodgers, right, like he's got a couple of years left where he's gonna be playing at a high level. But I think at this point they're gonna They're gonna regret that they didn't do that. I think so as well. But that front office has made some weird moves over the last couple years. Obviously, they've had success but certainly questionable moves. And I think that Jordan love pick Um, that was the building again. Really pissed off Rogers for sure. Uh, Russell. Thank you. Men always appreciate talking. You will talk to you soon. Absolutely. Thanks, John. There is Russell Clay. You know you could get ready for fantasy. That's what I'm watching during the first round of the draft. Harris goes to the goes to Pittsburgh and I'm thinking, How can I overdraft a rookie like I normally do last year, trying to think of Huai what rookies I drafted last year normally You can get a running back. And you can get a wide receiver that you know people that just stay away from rookies and fantasy football. I get it. It's probably the safe removed. But there's also some some boom potential for that. Like two straight lands and the plane this year, and he takes the lead by storm. Or is he really not ready.

I understand his perspective, I suppose, because he while not participating in the mob that went around this vehicle, he ended up getting knocked to the ground because of the force of the vehicle. Going through the mob are going out of them off. And he told to 13. He doesn't understand why the officer did what he did. I don't know what transpired but I know I was on the ground. Worrying about the fellow man. I was right beside me. That was under the car, you know? Then they continue proceeded to go over the guy. Okay? Did you catch what he said right at the beginning. Did you hear that right at the beginning. Turn that back. I don't know what transpired. So I do know what transpired And I understand that at the time, maybe Tavon didn't know what had transpired. I get that Right. The whole bunch of people there you're you're not really paying attention. But you've since found out what transpired so too now pretend to not really know what happened. And not provide the context. To explain what the officer did or why you think the officer might have done it. Ah, little disingenuous to make just a little bit disingenuous to make a brief moment. That police officer wasn't a police officer. Well, they wasn't thinking as a police officer, and that's what we pay them guys to be. So I would argue he was thinking as a police officer, police officers who have been under assault both literally and figuratively. For the last eight months. Officers have been physically assaulted by mobs. We've seen the videos of that. We've heard the stories. So because he is a cop because the mob surrounded him because.

We're trying to gauge The reaction of our listeners to What has happened throughout this season for the Packers, Wayne so gave Gus neighbors Hello. You stopped laughing in there. Wayne may or may not have called gave Gus on the radio broadcast network a week ago. Can't prove it. We cannot prove it. Anyways, Uh, Gabe, I sensed a little bit of, uh, week six game. It's It's still kinda hanging over my head as I strolled into the studio, a very confident man with a packed duffel bag ready to go to Tampa. I think I have too much in the department of warm clothing, however, but I could manage that. Have we chipped away a little bit at you? Ah, little bit and I think at the end of the day, I'm still going to pick the Packers to win. Just don't feel super confident about it like I felt confident about them, beating the Rams this week. Not as confident as I would Had the Saints come to town, and I think we saw why. Because Drew Brees just the Buccaneers defense last week. They were just able to sit right. They knew Breeze was gonna take the top off of their their defense. And that's something that Rogers Is going to be able to challenge them to do I think the Packers offensive line is vastly improved from week six. I don't think that the Buccaneers are going to be able to get the pressure that they did that being something they're probably going to get more pressure. I think then. Rammstein. Aaron was only once last week. If they're able to do that, against the speed off Tampa Bay. It's just a tougher matchup. Not to say I don't think they can win. It's just a tougher matchup in 38 to 10 is a tough one to shake off like, I just don't understand how they could just pretend Oh yeah, week six. Practically 2014, who cares? Didn't really happen. Doesn't really matter. I know. I think it's still matters. I think there's still some matchup things that need to be addressed. My guess is that map before also addressed him. The other thing that I've got in the back of my mind. After they played the Buccaneers. The Packer said. Yeah. Or we could practice wasn't that great? Which wouldn't be concerning? You're not gonna practice great for 17 weeks in an NFL season, you'll have some bad weeks of practice. It happens. That's also what they said last year after the NFC Championship game that even though they were playing in NFC Championship game, the Super Bowl was on the line after the game. Yes, we could practice Who's missing juice something was missing. No. We don't know if that was the case this this past week of practice, that's not something they would talk about until after the game. Should they happen to lose. It's not like somebody stands there on Saturday going, hoo boy. I hope things go well tomorrow. We didn't practice well all week. It's not something you're going to bring up before that, but it's just It's something that's back there. It's something that's happened, and it's something that again. If they go out, they play well that practice well all week. Then you forget about it. But there have been times under the mat LeFlore regime as good as it's been That they have not prepared well before big time matchups. Here's why, I don't think that's a smudge of an issue this year as it was last year. Last year. The first time Matt Leflore, the Packers went out to face Kyle Shanahan and the 40 Niners. What happened? They have clobbered. So all the discussion leading up to that game was a magic that you did go against your brother. Hey, how fun Kyle Shanahan. This is a great time. You guys are good friends. We'll have breakfast together. Where will you stay? Do you state your brother's house. And that is gonna find you know, you're really a lot of respect for those guys have learned a lot. They worked together and they met it. You know the 50 yard line before the game there shaking hands, you know, hugs all around. You know what happened after Matt Lafleur walked away from his brother and Kyle Shanahan. Matt had a smile on his face, and that is gonna be fun, and Kyle and Matt Lafleur's brother said, We're gonna rip their throats out. And the Packers got buried. Twice. Don't think that was quite a jovial When he was on the field with Sean McVeigh before the game against the Rams last week, maybe not as much with Mike Vrabel when they face the Tennessee Titans. This is not a a widely reported story. It's my own speculation. I think Matt LaFleur's growth is part of the reason why I feel supremely confident about the Packers this time around, he could not beat. His teachers last year. He has had no issue doing that this time around. Ahead of the 40 Niners during the regular season, handled McVeigh last week with no issue Yeah, Again. I'm not saying I think matted floors bad coach. I'm just saying it's something that I've noticed. There was something that popped into my head. When we were talking with Jason earlier about after the Tampa Bay game here. We didn't have a great week of practice. Okay. That's.

Stefon Diggs Is Buffalos Miracle Man
"The best season of his pro career right now. How good are things going in buffalo. I mean really good. Pablo like you said. I mean you know again this is. This is a team. Obviously that has a lot of scar tissue for a difficult times in the past and so the bills themselves are they won. The division for the first time in a couple of decades and digs is right at the center of their success. I'm always staying for buffalo trust and believe in me. I'm forever grateful personally. He is having the best season of his career. He's averaging i think twenty yards more per game step touched up. He's leading the league in receptions josh allen. Taking a deep shot the separation from dixon. He's and he's doing in so many different ways dick's just electric on the outside best received early. Nfl this season so he's been outstanding and the cherry on top came against the broncos digs broke the bills franchise record for receptions allen fires. This one is caught about step addict. Steph dick sets the club record with one hundred and one catches on the season. Congratulate is showing the bills and the whole nfl just how versatile a receiver he really is. You interviewed him for your cover story. Sam what was he like in person burg. I honestly i came into it. A little bit unsure what to expect when i sat down and started talking with digs though it became clear very quickly that he's an upbeat guy. A positive guy a guy who likes to laugh a guy smile. A guy who really enjoys fashion is a little bit eccentric at various points. We talked about the books. He's been reading. He really enjoyed the alchemist his a starbucks order which is apparently tavon green tea with a little bit of juice in it. Well so he loves the alchemist the book. He's apparently an alchemist. Like juice in your starbucks order really y- apparently he's really into it and i have to say as somebody who enjoys green tea and also enjoys apple juice. I had never thought put them together. But it's actually not bad. I want to rewind a bit sam. Talk about he got to where he is now. That trade in question which happened in march minnesota to buffalo. What was going on with digs in the vikings before that so let's go back a little bit right. He's drafted by the vikings in two thousand. Fifteen comes out of the university of maryland sort of work his way in take advantage of the opportunities and then the minneapolis miracle case on a deep drop. Step up in the pocket. He'll fire to the right side. Does it does that catch in. January of two thousand. Eighteen is arguably the greatest play in vikings history. And they've been around for over sixty years so that's pretty significant. You would think in that moment. Okay this is a play. That's going to define this guy's career and it's going to link him forever to this team. Damn bill says i. I got a Never stop working. Today was went all the work paid off and this is where i found his arc interesting within a year and a half or so. He's absolutely miserable. And even though you might have thought hey. This guy could spend his whole career with the vikings. After having this moment it became very clear that that wasn't going to be the case. So what went wrong in minnesota. Why was he so unhappy.
