The man who's forehead was slashed and leg was injured. He was hospitalized but expected to survive. As we got down there he was unconscious. He was talking to express pain or he was conscious. All of the national park service sites including rocky mountain national park is now requiring math when you are indoor wars But more importantly in crowded outdoor areas. And i think that's the thing that's most significant because in my story as i pointed out during the bugling season and you know is very very popular and at the shuttle bus stops There's a lot of people and at some overlooked and some trails. Going into twenty twenty one when it comes to the cdph chasa lower on the on the courts and on the field and everything like that but after a little bit of a shaky start with that. Hope yeah. I think so and i my wish for twenty twenty one. These two guys get together to groups get together and communicate better not only with each other but to the public in general. Because there's a lot of folks out there that are that are very upset is that we seem to have some rules on a monday. Different rules on a tuesday than a different set on a wednesday. And i understand this all changes daily and we have to move as it changes but i just wish we would communicate and this goes back to football tanner. I thought that communication processor that whole ordeal was Was a good example of bad. Pr and I just hope we learned from that and as we move forward and get into season be hopefully here quick that the communication efforts will go a little bit better. I think we saw the ramifications of what happened in in football win When when rhonda blandford grain chesa commissioner came out and said yeah we want to do. We're doing everything we can. But cdph and the governor's office is saying no and then at that point. I think it's well believed that. The governor just out politics The commissioner and and ended up saying we're good to go and so that look was bad in and of itself but then kevin you. You been a part of this. The press release when we get the information maybe a day or two before win. The whatever is getting released out there is supposed to be taking place. So they're holding everything very close to the chest and i get that because Again these are tough decisions. I don't want to You know Underestimate that it's something in these positions and Just like anything schools on school board tanner. You're gonna upset fifty to fifty one percent of the people with everything you do. So you know when you're dealing with kids and parents at the top. And i get that and every person has a different need or want if you will so it's impossible to get everybody together but again communication is key I often wish we would see the evidence of why positions that are decisions that are made are made because it seems like. We're just throwing stuff on the wall to see what sticks and then public pressure turns the other way. Sometimes we Changed that route. We saw that with football Again at the state championships not gonna have fans a lot of folks criticize. That decision made a push for it and suddenly we had seventy five per team. So i have a feeling we're going to get that with basketball and With the fan attendance right now. I think we're going to see a push for that here over the next couple of weeks. So let's see if that get changed as well because of public pressure hard to tell right now and it. It's what's been tough to. Its by county by county basis but with no more counties in the the level read. You would think at least up to fifty would be allowed inside but we will find out with that. So kevin we start season. Be here in just a couple of weeks But right now one of the sports seems to be having issues getting going. Finding their footing is wrestling. We've seen a couple of Couple of school districts. Say that they're gonna. They're not gonna even attempt to have wrestling season this year. Yeah and that doesn't surprise me to be honest with you because again going back to the fall toward the end of the football season when we had a ton of games cancelled because of covid and the schedule just overturned on a weekly basis. My thought was. I don't know how we're going to get wrestling. I thought basketball was very possible hockey. I thought was very possible swimming. In some of those other sports i thought were possible but wrestling where you put two kids out on a mat with direct contact. Four straight minutes. Obviously i wondered. How in the heck are we going to get that done. And i think we're seeing some of that right now. The good thing is people need to understand. And it's going to be tough at this stage of the year but Like ni- i'll throw them for an example. They cancelled their wrestling season. Said we're not gonna play those competitors. Those wrestlers have a chance to go to another school and compete because jasim that's always a guideline chasma. If your school does not offer support you wanna play Want to compete in. You can go to another school and compete and stay as a student in your existing school so that rule is going to carry over into this year. Obviously so those wrestlers that can't compete for nine could go next door another school that will offer wrestling and compete. So that's one safety measure. I guess but There's been some talk already of maybe even pushing wrestling back to season. See so again. We'll wait and see what happens. There's we have a couple of weeks before we get started. Another concern with wrestling tanneries. The state tournament Talk that maybe we moved to a team bracket if you will and not have individual champs and that will be crushing to a lot of kids going for a second title a third title or in some cases even a fourth title and make your mark in history so that would be crushing to that sport if that happens. There's a lot of things that need to come about. And you hope that the vaccine distribution and everything like that gets underway and can continue to move forward But even the duels that that you have in these big wrestling meets normally. It's not just a couple of schools right. Normally you've got these different tournaments that you go to on the saturday so that in and of itself the a problem is that the a lot of times it's not just two teams so wrestling in your opinion has has the most most troubled overcome. I think so. Get it back to what we refer to as enormous sense where we have tournaments where we have regional events and then irregular state tournament I don't see a good chance of that happening right now. It just set up a set up with duels that you can compete in duels a week but you can't compete in a wrestling tournament with more than two teams and the problem. That arises with that tanner's in some of these smaller schools teams don't have a full roster to compete in a dual you may only have five matches in a given night so again it's going to be hard for kids to get in shape and And compete like a normal wrestling season and again wrestling. You know you want to team title. But it's really set up for individuals going for that as i mentioned second third and even a four state championships if we don't get that It's.
