"Up in the preseason. If there's one coach that I would not at-bat against it is most certainly harbaugh so I would argue before you go in and bet on the preseason absolutely want to take a look at the coaches history three and how they have done in the preseason especially in the past couple of years second factor and I'm GonNa talk about four factors as I lay out preseason betting. Let's talk quarterback rotations. Let's face it. Who's GonNa decide your bets? Probably not Tom Brady probably not drew brees. It's GONNA come. I'm down to the backups when you're betting these games and you want to have capable good backups and at deep quarterback rotation you WanNa look and tend to look towards teams like the San San Francisco Forty niners think about the nine or so last year. Jimmy and I love Jimmy G. He goes down week three with the injury and at third comes in and takes it's over. He gets some experienced Bedford gets hurt. Nick Mohan's comes in so now I've got my second and third string quarterback for San Francisco with some nice viable playtime daytime last year and frankly Moen's far exceeded expectations and because of that the forty niners probably are set to have a good preseason quarterback quarterback rotation <hes> New Orleans Saints. You'd think with drew brees the hey he's so important to the team they probably have a poor quarterback rotation. Well it turns out you got Teddy Bridgewater on the bench there and at least for the next year we'll see what happens going forward and then tastes them hill behind him so New Orleans with a <hes> what looks to be a bet on quarterback rotation as far as a couple teams. We'd be cautious. I think betting on in the preseason Dallas Cowboys. Do you really WANNA WANNA be betting on Cooper rush or Mike White here with your backups. I don't think so and I think Dallas <hes> was Zeke out. I think that this could well be a preseason that Dallas does not want to risk players to injury and frankly they just don't have the quarterbacks to make you excited about betting on them. Similarly Louis Jacksonville Jaguars so all of a sudden they gutted their quarterback rotations because you know they get rid of Blake Bortles and they get rid of their backup backup quarterback and they bring in photos. WILL WHO's behind foles. Do we want to bet on Tanner. Lee The rookie men shah. I don't think so I'd be very careful with the Jacksonville Jaguar quarterback rotation one thing about these quarterback rotations all things being equal. I tend to look towards the more agile running quarterbacks and the reason and being you know and I spoke with my friend Tucker about this former N._F._L. Player and he said you know the reason. These preseason games are so low scoring in the second half the offensive line one. You don't have the town to the guys blocking but the continuity of the old line is shot. These guys have not played together. It's a lot easier for the defensive line to go go ahead and put in a bunch of back and still play together as opposed to blown assignments and the old line struggling and because of that the quarterbacks not GonNa have time to throw and because of that the traditional dropback pastors are going to struggle to move the ball as opposed to just taking the ball talking it and running <hes> <hes> and because of that all things being equal if you can get quarterbacks that are more agile third and fourth string quarterbacks that would be the way I would look doc to go ahead and wager on quarterbacks in the preseason so we've got two major factors that we look at we look at coaches tendencies. We we look at quarterback rotations. Let's talk about two more factors general situations. Probably I'm GonNa talk about one situation..

"After term got hurt in years past they had you know they invested in John Kitten and Kyle Orton but eighteen that by all means you know they have the resources financially Chili. They don't need to be cheap. They they have guys assignment. They have Catholics. They could make it work didn't target anybody. Besides Cooper rushed back up <hes> Dak Prescott guy who does run very frequently doesn't it hasn't had a situation where he's looked injured. I believe so far in his career but I think absolutely this is a very vulnerable spot for the cowboys and I think I had them twenty-ninth with me. It's not not that far off. It's in the same year I had the Jaguars thirty seconds. I find this to be so shocking to me because with that Prescott got maybe you could make the case that all you know. He hasn't got an injured. He looks healthy. He's going to be our guy you know. I think we're GONNA be fine with the Jaguars who signed Nick Doc Focus offseason. Nick foles has been hurt every single season. He's played any significant stretch of time in football. I think it's been he has not played more than ten games in a row without getting hurt hurt <hes> so for the Jaguars to have tanner Lee and then a rookie and Garner minhsiu backing up Nick foles. There's a really good chance we're going to see one of those. Guys start a game in two thousand nine hundred and that's really scary. It doesn't seem like it's very well planned. I had all the jacks yeah no doubt about it I think that <hes> and and what they had they had had <hes> <hes> Cody Kessler at some point they cut him loose which was kinda surprising for the reasons. You just lay down. They seem to like Menchu a lot. I know a lot of people thought he should be going well before the sixth round of the draft but this is about this is about my expectation so I'm with you. It's definitely risky for sure and they're kind of just throwing darts. The late rounder minhsiu Lee was a six rounder last jazz Komo Alex Magoo by Seattle of him so I think I'm pronouncing that right. He was a seventh round or so. They're kinda throwing darts at a young kids and just hoping one of those guys is decent enough the lockdown that number two job but yeah I've been there is the favourite for that job to see how it plays. Who Do you have a thirty one thirty one? I Have Minnesota Sean Manyang now now again you know he was a guy who the rams drafted in the third round and May that was again a little bit surprising but again he hasn't done much in in in for the rams they come Lucy. Only fifty three career attempts as never thrown a touchdown so that's a team again. You know they've invested a lot at in Kirk cousins and they're gonna I need him to stay on the field because it's Mandy and Kyle Slaughters there as well and <hes> Jake Browning on the roster. That's that's about it right now. Yeah I mean a team that maybe they have cap constraints. They spent a lot of money elsewhere where you could see them saying hey we just need to save money somewhere. Back at quarterback might be the spot but <hes> a team that does have a good chance of competing for a possible super bowl. If everyone stays he's healthy so little surprise. They couldn't convince a backup here. There who <hes> you know of a slightly higher quality to come take less money to come play there you know even if it was going to be someone like a <hes> <hes> like a blake bortles. We'll get a little later unit. He's not obviously an ideal backup at least at someone who you know a has possible shot at competing for a super bowl so make Barton in Los Angeles. It's not the end of the road necessarily either but you got the idea. I think there was opportunities to go after someone who might be a little more exciting than a Sean manion who I have in the twenty six spot <hes> again. I think it's basically once you answer this bottom tier..

"Use your assets deal teddy Bridgewater just because you're not gonna deal mccown because you're not gonna get from account what you could get for Bridgewater because the upside there is still is he the guy he was before is he still teddy. Bridgewater or is he the guy that the doctor's like, oh, my God, I can't believe I put that new back together, but he's a good enough of a preseason to fool someone who's quarterback starving to comment. I said the other day, I think it was Monday. I was doing this program that you could probably get the patriots to call for him. Absolutely. No problem. There is. You're not going to get a whole bunch for him in that trade because you're, you're dealing him to a team that doesn't need him as your primary quarterback. You're dealing him to a team like there are a whole bunch of teams out there that need a backup quarterback. I mean, you look at Tampa, potentially, you could look at Carolina, potentially, but all of those places they need a backup. They got their main guys, so you're not gonna get the world for teddy Bridgewater. You need to find that team that suddenly needs Ono. I gotta have. My guy could be Jacksonville, they've got Blake, Bortles Hodie Kessler Tanner Lee heart, Blake Bortles. No, he's your starter. You need a primary backup. There's a backup, but there's one team in the league that needs a starter you? I can't. I'm looking at teams right now, guys win jobs during the team. You look deck Prescott Sam, Bradford slash, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, Andy, Dalton, Philip rivers drew Brees. Blake, Bortles, Matt, Ryan. You're right. There's no Plato one there that absolutely needs. A quarterback right now. It would all be backup positions, which is a good thing for the NFL because we hit a year. There was a year. It made even been last year the year before we hit a dark spot in in quarterback play, where there were dudes that were starting that had no business being in the NFL much less. It was bang, but now you look at where the league has gone with Jared Goff out there showing what he's got. I think Marcus mariota is going to take that next step. He ha- okay, that's a guy that has to. He has to do something else because that whole conversation between Marietta and Jameis Winston being all these are the best quarterbacks drafted one to blah, blah, blah. I kind of feel like it's stalled out. It'd been in the league. As the fourth year, I think their fourth year I'm getting old. My memory doesn't work anymore, but they like they gotta do something. 'cause neither one of them I feel like has done like Carson Wentz went there fast, and I expected that out of one of them like I need them to take that Carson Wentz Shawn Watson to Sean Watson's. Another one I watch him this year. You look at that look at the young quarterbacks just right there. Now the the sad thing about that is two of the three or coming off major knee injuries in Watson is you read the article this morning on ESPN dot com. It was all the arguments about how Carson Wentz into Shawn. Watson could still both not be as good this year as they were last year and still be legitimate MVP candidate that amazing. Yes, and that's good. It's good for the league that these young quarterbacks are coming in and really take hold of their franchises when for a couple of years, it's like, I think I think chase Daniels may have started game, you know, see Pat Mahomes really on that. What do you lose Riddick?.

"Three other places I have are all as backups like three, but okay, the dolphins. Miami Dolphins, Ryan tannehill quarterback wide receiver. Nobody knows all I know teddy. He's from Miami. He could fit in real nice swimming with the dolphins. I mean, I just don't know to me that that is pull up their roster real quick, their backup quarterback. I know. Well, it's it's Brock Osweiler. Oh, yeah, so see. And that's the other guy that's from San Jose. I can't think of this is the one the only David David failed, Bryce petty, so. Okay. So you're Adam gays, and yeah, you're going. If I lose Ryan tannehill, I've lost the last two years and I'm not already sure on. Right. You lost them all your last year. The year before he leaves on NAS. Wiler came out and said he was having an amazing during Josh, so I would scare the crap out of me. Okay. Number two, number two to two to two. If I'm the Carolina Panthers Carolina Panthers, you have Cam Newton, Cass, what you lost your center, you lost your tackle. The rush could become an and then you're relying. On Derrick? Oh, no, he's no longer there Anderson, right. Who's their backup quarterback? Pull up the teams. It's Garrett Gilbert, right? Yeah, right in the name, the rest of the names. They're Taylor hynick. Right. And Kyle aller Hanky right. Hang people who are they? Not as good as teddy Bridgewater exactly. That's why they're on this Gilbert or Garrett grace. Oh, Garrett Gilbert from Texas who transferred to SMU member Garrett Gilbert, Alabama championship game and played okays a Franklin and then got progressively worse from there. All right. The number one team at teddy Bridgewater could be traded to is. I mean, I mean, I mean is a team that I've never okay. I mean, this is a team that we know can go to the Super Bowl and they have a questionable starting quarterback John the most talented starting lineup, and the NFL is led by a guy that admits he's not as bad as you think, but he's still he could be coming in over Cody Kessler the seventy first quarterback or. Tanner Lee, right? A wide receiver hybrid from the university of Nebraska who everybody already said is the most talented guy they got, or they're not going to bring in teddy Bridgewater because he's going to be better than Blake Bortles and they're not gonna. Bring teddy Bridgewater brings the Jaguars the Super Bowl, right? I, I do think. A healthy teddy bridge. Okay. Before we get to John David, Washington, oh my God, I believe, yes, that's him. That's the lead writer for gridiron heights. Santa's Flynn. Oh, wow. Celebrities here in the San Jose airport. This is why you come to the access point hot. It's an access point for stars like Hollywood. We were talking about the lettuce of moss versus Terrell. Owens my good friend, Dan said, who do you think was a better basketball player? And you said moss, I, you said, moss had great hand eye. He could shoot three's TO's going to like bunch through yet. Kind of like bull you overnight rainy most is the better athlete, and you said, Randy moss could throw the ball. Shosh jokingly said, could Randy moss in his prime as quarterback lead the Jaguars to the Super Bowl. And you said I was like, I mean, if you taught them something the Thirdly probably could you believe that Randy moss in his prime could throw the ball better than Blake borders. I think if rent Randy moss has wore pure potential to be the greater thrower. That's what I'll say. So we start at a guy that's incr- potential to throw a better. Like I'm just saying, if. If Blake Bortles and Randy moss came to my house at the age of eighteen and they and Phil Simms, Chris Simms and Matson's went out in the field with them, and we went through a week a work..

"To the other quarterbacks you could potentially drafted it's very rare that you get an opportunity where they're all the same place so when you're kind of choosing between like what you like what you don't like they're all right next to each other or they're all throwing in a session one after another and and that's where you know i think josh islands armed strength really stood out and the fact that in that first group besides josh alan i had a really think there was any anyone anyone else who really move the needle in sham donald supposed to be that group key elected not to throw late lamar jackson's altogether by headlining quarterback in that group and i actually thought he'd be you know it was better than i expected him to be as far as his four county looked but obviously is gonna throw the the ball as well as josh how could be so josh alan probably by far away there was the guy that i think one day if you had to pick a quarterback but now you look at that next group f you either value let me just rosen looks very complete kind of what we expected baker mayfield was accurate he demonstrated as a stronger are that people that dissipated and the i naked dropped wonder centers the limo didn't see him do much when you first started texas sacramento as time in oklahoma and and then there is some you know valium defence of kabul what a logan woodside i tanner lee even he did have a great year nebraska was fast year uh but he looked about as good as anyone in tshirt and shorts throwing a bike why do i kinda earlier mentioned i mean there were some quality in that second group it wasn't just the top to your guys too all in all i think this is a class that has top talent but also has a lot of debt so right before you came on dri bruce and i were talking about josh our in our mostly me both of us are scepticism coming from the college standpoint where he didn't produce very well he didn't have agreed completion percentage against mountain west competition in particular and and you know i i guess i'm a little bewildered by all the fascination with him but.

"'cause i can and penn state plays them on the road that'd be sparty tie while michigan say yet so they gave up i think was a fumble return and a kickoff return touchdown gets western michigan yesterday granted competition has not been huge but that could be trapping a little body blow week after playing ohio state on the road week after playing michigan mercy i'm just making sure that it's on your radar thai because penn state is very good may travel to i want a couple of weeks i think that game could be very entertaining that's my hope it's always interesting a close it's not always entertaining correct i want it to be entertaining i have high hopes penn state reedzans 33 to fourteen over pit the other game happening around the same time you're oregon ducks against nebraska oregon led forty two to fourteen in half the did and i got to be honest because we're all france your i turned the game off good for you then miss you missed a bad secondhalf if veiled i browsed around the old ipad and thought that maybe there was a glitch in the matrix your fine i score 42 to thirty five nebraska comes back they scored three unanswered touchdowns apparently they had a chance to win this game before tanner lee through his fourth interception of the day but they held gives here man playcalling guide real conservative in vanilla in the second half and i liked that they went to like a power formation word that quarterback has just had a running back on either side and running back behind him mike serve dana holger sin diamond formations that he started running a lot at oklahoma state for doing it west virginia and other teams obviously followed along by play calling a very conservative they were trying to take time off the clock and they'd get themselves third in seven and instead of.

"I think our tanking specifically for talk radio show host like yourself actually and throughout the greater new york market i think that's the actual reason behind their tanking um fascinating concept great you you have enough of it in europe in your day job covering the covering the nba i would say right now chris there are three quarterbacks who you can say with some assurance we'll be top uh picks and then there's about a field of six or seven guys who could enter that with big seasons uh obviously the the big three if he will are uh are josh alan at wyoming josh rosen at ucla and same donald at usc the shock first sam uh campaign has already begun in earnest in uh in new york amongst the jet ets sands um which it which has been fascinating and then there's the second tier of really good players the guy i like awad is clayton thorson at northwestern little bit of a lay bloomer coming out of high school really started to find his own last year played really well against roe hiault stay how you play against those one or two really high tear teams on your schedule matters a lot to nfl la evaluators uh i some masonry off last night from oklahoma state i don't think he's a first round type guy he's more mitterrand's i've guy that he's guys gonna be an highs in canada uh heisman trophy conversation for sure and then the big dark horse name among scouting circles now is tanner lee at nebraska he's a to lane transfer and a lot of people thought he had some of the best tools of all the quarterbacks at the manning academy this summer how many people drooling over jon allen have actually seen joscelyn play.

"Real quick just as anybody good in the big ten west southern wisconsin hand is crap and on my alma mater like i mean i already did that twice at least six not heroes who would have just completely obliterated my alma mater but go ahead big 10man now i'm sure now i it is a fair question i think it's a to a division that doesn't deserve more than one ranked team right now and i think the four teams that could rise up northwestern has a lot coming back if a quarterback who's a thirdyear starter whose an nfl prospect i dig iowa will be better in some areas their big question mark is the quarterback position but they have a running game they should be very good in the defensive front seven and then i think i think nebraska's a mystery you know mike riley typically does well with his own quarterbacks tanner lee is a guy that he brought in to play that position and a bob diaka will make some obvious strides on defense which was not a very good unit last year what's upper arkansas state this week lol yeah very good land words they're gonna be pretty good absolutely up former oklahoma guides us to justice hanson a quarterback that air air dangerous watch out for arkansas state analysis you can only get here on campus conversation finally heather this one for you from kelvin corbyn at absolute underscores zero with the game of the weekend coming up between the knowles in the tide kelvin wants to know is there any chance that either of those teams could get blown out so badly that they actually hurt their playoff chances the answer is in now and that's because both of them have ample opportunities against ranked opponents remaining on their schedule to offset what could be a very ugly loss and i will remind you i was at usc alabama when the season open last year in what was a very ugly loss alabama and while were we talking about a different s e team come november even with even with three losses.
