I think I might want to live in say, I pick him to be the Bruins leading goal scorer for next season. Whereas this year, I had debrusk, it's okay. Yeah, I'd like to. I like to eat some Crow some time. But yes, so pastrnak. I, I agree with you on that. So now to the second line, I'll let you take first with Taylor Hall, still all I think is an interesting case. I feel like a lot of people have a maybe a bad taste in the mouth because of his lack of maybe production the Islanders series but I don't want to take Cloud what the previous six-plus weeks were, which he was an absolute game-changer and that team. I gave him an egg. Maybe that's a bit too lofty but I think you look at it wasn't that he was just generating a bunch of points and kind of revitalized crazy in that second line. Looked dominant. It was just I think his overall play. I mean to weigh play. How many birth You know, quality chances of you break up, you know, on back checking, I mean, he was on the ice for 200 minutes in the regular season with the Bruins and the Bruins, outscored the competition 15 to 1:15 to wash. That's, that's nuts. So, I think, you know, as much as people are concerned about the Highlander series which in which granted every line was pretty much shut down except for the Bergeron long. I try not to overthink it in terms of what his value on this team was and how important is to have him in his group going forward because I wouldn't let wage last series against the team. I mean, how what kind of pressure our players up there facing? I'll be it. There's only 3500 in the stands, but And the whole not only Montreal, but the whole country has got to be on them up there. Montreal British pretty much I think everyone's kind of root for them. Obviously being the Canadian, you know, the only team last night time as well. Uh, but playing in 2010 we made to the conference finals and it's It's a different different beast up there with, you know, they're flipping cop cars and everything. We want a couple to Game seven series and, uh, it's It's a different animal up there. But sometimes yeah, 35 you see all the fans that are outside the building, and it's an odd time of, uh Well to be able to watch this on TV, where they got 3500 fans inside, but probably 200,000 on the street. Yeah, let's keep everyone safe inside the building outside everybody else outside the catch. Covid. It's okay. It's pretty much right. How you feeling for tonight? What's the word inside the organization and the Lightning organization? I mean it. And as far as I remember when Mr Vinick bought the Lightning from Lauren Cole's, he was saying he wants to put a first class hockey organization that gives back to the community and I think he's exceeded that goal. By 10 fold and continues to grind every day to make the lightning the world class organization that it is. Yes, Mr Vinick. And obviously the way the lightning are playing and take the growth of hockey, then went into organization from top down, You know, it's uh, it's been great, and I've been back in the area two years with high school. Hockey development and, you know, just be able to help out with the kids learn to play programs, and there's not enough space here for all the players dot Um, but it's a great thing to see. It's a great deal around the city and all the community. It's almost like a small town. Big city feel, you know, I mean, everyone's rooting for their local teams. And, uh, you know, then you can talk about the bucks to write in the race, and it's just a It's a great place to be right now. Yeah, I mean, I mean outside of what's going to happen in the next couple days. The weather is not too bad around here, especially in in the fall in the winter. Um, you know, we have 33 of the four major sports here in town. Um, and it's just like the way hockey has grown. I've been in this area since 1990 just and I played barely cocky or at least I attempt to play but just seeing the level and quality of play not only from guys who have now they they found out what hockey is and know how to play it. We were just talking with Pete Larry. It's just a little bit ago and what his son Jake is doing. Uh, 15 as a 15 year old and doing it just like the hockey programs here in the Tampa Bay area have grown exponentially over the last 15 20 years. Yeah, definitely. And he has a study as a son. They're playing off. So that whole even at that alliance program that could be his future for one K right there. Yeah, it could be. Yeah, but back to your point with the growth of clock. You see all these young kids, I'm working in the player development on side of the local players and I'm coaching GDP team, which is the high school kind of like all star team where we go and do showcase tournaments up north and we had one about a month ago, and we went up there. We competed hard, and it's um It's a testament to all the all the players that have stayed around and all the coaches, you know, I mean that the girls, I mean, it doesn't happen overnight, but there's been a lot of people that have contributed to the growth of hockey and a lot of acts. Lightning players are taking part in that as well. Yeah, well, a lot of lot of us, Uh Have kids that play hockey, too, You know, I mean, you stay in the game, and, um it's always fun to give back to something That's given you everything so to speak..

"John dollars, and Brian Hayward with you from Amalie Arena in downtown Tampa. The Tampa Bay Lightning leading Game four of the Central Division first round matchup over the Florida Panthers by a count of 5 to 2. Lightning lead the Syrians two games to one Brian. Normally in a normal circumstance, I would say it teams up five to going into the third period. It's a tall order, but the Florida Panthers have dominated this hockey game. They have out shot. Lightning in this game, 35 17. They begin the third period on a power play. They already have two power play goals in this hockey game. And were it not for Andrei Vasilevskiy. This would be an entirely different hockey game. And I agree with you that this game is not over because to me, the Tampa Bay Lightning have not shown that they can defend Against the attack of the Panthers Panthers play high risk pocket Their defense are activated every shift. They come down off the blue line, even on 50 50 bucks most teams would back out of the zone. Don't back out of the zone. They stay in there They try and keep the pressure on and you know they have generated a ton and I mean a ton of quality scoring chances. They start this third period. On the power play. They've got a minute and 28 seconds of power play that they did not deserve to get, but they got it. And if they can get something here, this third period is going to be really interesting. They have altered the shot clock. It's now 34 18. In favor of Florida. They take a shot away from the Panthers. They had a shot to the lightning. But that doesn't change what the eye test has shown us. It's future off who sits in the penalty box and what was a very controversial penalty at the end of the period. Many feel that it probably could have easily been a penalty the other way as COO Trop was checked into Chris Treeger. Rieger incidentally, came in at the 7 15 mark of the second period Spelling starter Sergei Bobrovsky gave.

"P.m. through the playoffs. TJ, It's Howard and Brayton. Good morning. How you doing? Hi, guys. How you doing? Our We've done this for a long time. So it's just more more good news. You probably you know, you used to actually come on with us. When the sabers were playing playoff games you might not remember. But I do remember. I remember that. Yes, that was a long time ago now. So what are your thoughts as an outsider, so to speak from a national perspective on the stuff that happened with Michael this weekend? What's going on up here right now? Well, it was, uh, minutes surprising right that a player was so out, spoken publicly about the situation, but it just goes to show you where Relationship is right now and also our baby. Will you read up on what the discussion is about this injury and how you know he wants to go about treatment. I mean, I I understand the concern of the team. And I also certainly understand the player wanting to do what he thinks is right for for his body and his career. So this is this is Putting unique and understandable, I think on both sides in the C B. A, uh indicates that the team does have more say these days with the changes in the TV over time. They have a little more say on these matters, or maybe a lot for say. And he's got his show. What I think this is a really unique and difficult in past, and I'll be curious to see how that part of it is results. But there's been a lot of water under the bridge between Jack Eichel on the Buffalo sabers. I don't tell you guys I go all the way back to the very, very start when? At the draft lottery, Tim Murray, who was then the GM of the Sabers, uh upon The results, becoming official and the sabers getting a second pick. Don't do it, like just be upset about the process. Instead of welcoming the fact that likely we're going to end up with Jack Eichel. And I think if I was cycle at that time, I would have been why this wasn't the response I was expecting. So right from the start. It seemed like You know, there's been some challenges in that relationship I wanted. I'd like to ask you get your thoughts, You know if they trade and what the market would be like, and I think either way, EJ This was a discussion that was trending the way the season was playing out because again another losing season last overall, another coaching change, and I think no matter what I call would have been asked been asked by the media. Do you want to be here and deal with this anymore? But You know the injury situation and what he said about the disconnect just added another layer to this discussion. So having said all of that, if the sabers to decide to trade Jack Eichel this off season Factoring in the injury situation. What is the market for Jack Eichel? What would it be like? Well, I think the biggest thing is the injury right and what the medicals are and how how comfortable in the routine would be in the making that move, so We know what he is the player. I mean, he's still a young guy. He's a big man. When he's healthy and going. He's one of the top offensive players in this league. So and he's a settlement. So I think a lot of teams would Would certainly be willing T O pay a lot to get him. I mean, I I could imagine if you're in Anaheim. Let's say, you know, maybe you'd be willing to give up Trevor's egoist and maybe another. Good defenseman, maybe a good defense and what secrets And then maybe a kick The fighting on the medical this year in l A. I mean, maybe you willing to trade acquitted by field who was second overall text. Last year, and I'm not a couple of other good young prospects on draft picks together. I mean, this is a significant significant player. And if you're the buffalo sabers, you've got to get You've got to get some serious absence in return, and if you're going to do this process and again if the medicals are favorable and the market in that, you know when there's not a concern that he's not gonna be able to Play at the highest level. I would think you were going to be able to create a pretty good auction amongst teams that have ah lot that would be willing tol big, quite a bit to get his services. We're with EJ erratic from NHL network EJ to the Stanley Cup playoffs. First round Syria's air all set Now Is there a most interesting syriza or maybe even a couple seriously. You look at and gold that it's more intriguing than the others. I think they're all pretty darn good job this with longing, you know, like from a friend in my own home. From my personal standpoint, I think Toronto or Montreal plane is kind of cool, because I mean, I mean, we're having them on my fight Table Hockey Ronald Monkey on the old metal players, right? Not the plastic players, the metal players. That's right, 100 years ago when I had that, you know when I had that table hockey, he was Toronto, Montreal, and we don't see that too often. So that's kind of cool. I think the battle of Florida I mean, there's a totally different thing. You have all the Lord legend of original six teams in Canada, Montreal and Toronto. And then you have the defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning and the kind of upstart Florida Panthers first time that those two teams are getting together in a playoff series. I think that's gonna be a lot of fun. It's gonna be I mean, they go after each other, Pretty good and Pamphlets, guts and challenges. I think with some guys that are probably not 100% healthy. Going into the postseason and Florida. It just seems like you know, they get an injury. They gave move guys in and out. Seems like no problem. They just keep rolling along. So you know that's a good one. And that same division. Carolina E mean, that's a team. Good. This is maybe the year they go on, maybe get to a Stanley Cup final. Maybe when the whole thing never really good group, but they're playing Nashville and Nationals been is probably as hard as anybody over the last 68 weeks of the season with a goaltending performance from the UC sorrows that she kind of reminiscent of God you know you got from you was the dominant Kostic. I mean, 9 41 save percentage from sorrows. Over his last 22 23 Angels. Pretty impressive. And you know, when you go out West, you got Vegas and Vegas and Minnesota, which they just had a great year. Minnesota always seems to have their numbers. So how that's gonna play out and, you know, then the East, you can probably flip a coin with those two matchups. Boston and Washington starting tomorrow night. More evening on NBC after the after the Preakness and Charlotte against his former team rooms look good now after the trade deadline acquisition, so I mean, there's a lot of good serious and a lot of good story lines. Want to sneak ahead to the second round. If you don't mind because look up here. I'm not people don't root for the Leafs. Not surprisingly, in Buffalo. I usually enjoy watching them flame out in the first round against Boston, But I gotta tell you from a from a hockey fan standpoint, EJ. I think one of them if it happens. One of the best Syriza in these four rounds could be Toronto and Edmonton Matthews and make David in the second round in that'd be great for the sport. I agree. I mean, I think that would be awesome for the sport to have those that kind of star power. One head to head and also, you know, Think about it. You have Dr Seidel and you have much smarter and I have you know you have this storyline and Joe Court. Who's you know the ancient Joan Thorton still trying to understand like up there in Toronto, and so You know, there's a lot of good Not a good story lines there as well. And that would be fun to watch those guys go head to head in the 17 serious way. Got we never really had that when you go back Into. You know, the earlier and I'm guessing to the time of Gretzky and and the mule there. Those guys never really crossed past in a playoff series. So we lost out on that we've had Crosby and Ovechkin. And that's been fun to watch. And so now the possibility of a Matthews me, David and because of the uniqueness of this season, where we could get that Whereas down the road, it will be less likely because of the fact that astronomy believes obviously you're in the Eastern Division and the Eastern Conference and the You know when the editorials in the Western Conference more from NHL networks EJ erratic when we return your listening to sports talk Saturday, right here on W G R.

"Never really know until they get out and toe into game action and He said so himself that he wasn't sure you know what he could expect from himself after so long off, but great night all around and like you said earlier, just a great goaltending duo for the Tampa Bay Lightning right now. Currency. Can we make any conclusions before we let you go regarding the Lightning's division? I mean, it seems there's ah, top half and you know, a kind of a group that send the middle that that's fighting for a playoff spot. And then you know, a couple teams towards the back in that. That probably aren't going to make the playoffs And maybe you're just gonna be spoilers. But I think the lightning, you know they haven't played the cream of the crop. Yet In the end, the division they've have, you know the game against Carolina, the two games against Columbus. I would say there's have probably been their toughest opponent so far. They're 11 in one in those three games, So I think we'll get a truer sense of just how good this team could be. After we see Florida after we see Dallas after we see Carolina little bit more. Right now. They're kind of feasting on, you know, probably the teams that are gonna be out of the postseason, but that's what you have to do. Right now. "L A Now we're back with the official real estate agents of the Tampa Bay Lightning and the best Realtors in Tampa Bay. Andrew Duncan on the Duncan duo Real Estate Show. We're back here on the back of the ocean. Talking about Tampa Bay real estate market. Andrew Duncan of the Duncan do it joined by Mike Corrigan. When we aren't on air, we're at V. Duncan do own every social channel out their new home construction activity source of the highest level. In over a decade. It's interesting because sometimes you know when, um you know when, when there's a need for inventory the builders. Sometimes they're slow to respond that they have not been slow to respond. Builders air creating inventory Massive amounts of inventory quickly on Dad has been for a while to compete and keep up with the band from home buyers. That is a new E. I mean, honestly, you know, there's never been a time where we've seen this kind of demand. And the interesting thing is that the one thing that I think holds Florida back and specifically Tampa Bay back is the process, the permitting an inspection process that can sometimes be very cumbersome. I mean, I own a home right now that I want to tear down And and we're talking months to get this thing approved. It's It's really kind of silly. And you know, the downside is that people out there need homes. The real estate market needs the activity and, you know they need to improve it. They need to expedite it. They need ah, process that allows this growth and need for housing to get created to move a little bit more. You know closely because I'm gonna be honest. I don't really think the permitting process does much other than say, Hey, give me some money. I've seen how manipulated it can be and how one inspector will follow everything to a tee and another guy comes in with a rubber stamp and doesn't even look at anything. There's so little consistency that frankly, I don't think it's anything other than a fee. Or can builders pay for an expedited feet? If they pay for expedited fees that maybe the permit department can hire more people. It's called capitalism, right? Like, you know, to me. Those things are logical if I wanted if I want to go somewhere and get something, and I want it faster. Pay more for it. If I want to go skip the line, a universal studios. I pay more for it, and I don't see why they can't set up some expedited department to improve that, But, you know, apparently And decades and decades and decades of governance knows really thought about that idea. So, um, nonetheless, I'll step off my podium now and just simply say we love the builders keeping up with it, and it's going to continue. More and more people are gonna want new construction our markets specifically because there's been an educational push, not just from real estate agencies. But probably, you know, the housing organizations like the Housing and Education Alliance, for example, better explaining to first time Homebuyers. Hey, look, if you.

"This is the Lightning radio pregame reports. Good evening, everyone Glad you're with us as we get you set for the Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes. I am Greg Lynn Ellie. The landing and Hurricanes are playing the first of eight meetings this season. The lighting conclude a three game road trip tonight, a road trip that originally had four games on the schedule until Tuesday's match up in Carolina, was postponed. The February 20 seconds due to Cove in 19 concerns. Tampa Bay has had three games for scheduled already this year, so it's been a shaky start to the season for a lot of teams when it comes to actually playing games. This means the schedule from here on out, it's will be pretty busy and teams won't have a ton of gaps in between games. Tampa Bay I'm sure wanted to get on the ice and play again as quickly as possible after their 52 lost the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday night. John Cooper called his team's lost Saturday in Columbus as bad a game as they've played since before the four month pause last year. You have to give credit to the blue jackets. They were the hunger team and it showed and you're gonna have some games like that, especially from a team who lost the previous night. The key for any team is not to let a bad loss turn into four because if that happens during a 56 game schedule, it's hard to compete for a playoff spot. Steven Stamkos knows there's some sloppy play going on right now. Because of the schedule. I think it's probably a little a little sloppy guys air, little rusty for sure. Obviously, I think you know you don't realize how important exhibition games are until you don't have any toe. Just get some timing down. Obviously, a lot of teams haven't played in a while. Obviously, a handful hadn't played in a really long time. So I just think just trying to get your timing back. So after the 1st 34 games, I think Most teams will start going here. Players want to play in this schedule makes it hard for them to find rhythm, But it's no excuse. Most teams were in the same boat, and at some point, the Lightning will be playing basically every other night, so it's important to squeeze out wins..

"I'm Brian Burns beat writer for the Tampa Bay Lightning. I'm joined by Look. My lightning radio analyst Kaylie Chelios. Good to be with you for another season of the pregame skate. Kaylie, How are you? Frenzy. I'm good. It's good to hear from you. It's been way too long since we've had hacked hockey back and you know you get to enjoy the excitement of being back at Emily Arena, despite no fans, but it feels good to be back. Yeah, it definitely feels good to be back. It feels weird to be back here and Amalie Arena. I think the last time I was here was for the playoffs and we were Socially distanced and the media room with glass partitions and then Dave, Michigan and Phil Esposito doing the radio play by play commentary and just going to be really interesting to actually see hockey and in front of you live on the ice. To see the banner unveiling is it's just gonna be a A really great night here and Amalie Arena Arena. We wish you could be here with us. You know, you have to be distance from us, but I'm sure you'll be watching on TV and keeping along with the festivities. I'm sure right? Yeah, of course. I mean, I feel like it's weird. Obviously, it's going to be an odd opening at home opener for everybody for you for all of us, but especially for the team. I'm sure not having fans in there. I know you tweeted it and John Cooper said it this morning. It'll be bitter, sweet. You know, it's a moment they've all been waiting for kind of a dream come to for this organization and everyone you know on the team coaches and everything. So it's tough not to be able to share that on this night for the fans, because that's really what Opening night is so Yeah, like, he said. It's it's gonna be different, but at least we have hockey back and there's a lot to look forward to. And tonight's matchup. I like this match up. It's been fun to watch and you know great. Great emotion, just given some of the playoff history between these two teams when they when they face each other. Yeah, absolutely. Let's kind of rewind a little bit. Let's take us back to set things up here as we get ready for Puck drop here in about 15 minutes or so. So ladies are set to embark on a new challenge this season, and that's being the hunted rather than the hunter for so many years. They were trying to get over that hump. Well, they got over the hump. They are now going to be the team that other teams are targeting. Tampa Bay one, the franchises second ever Stanley Cup after defeating the Dallas Stars and six games in the Stanley Cup final. Shutting out the stars. 2 to 0 in game sent six to clinch the cup. As we begin the 2021 season, the Lightning will have a target squarely on their backs, as there will be the team others or chasing to try to take the cup away. But the Lightning is still one of the favorites to repeat his daily Cup champions this season. They could become the first team since Pittsburgh in 2016 and 2017 to win back to back the cups and just the second team to do so. This Decades. So, Kayleigh, let's get started. Why do you think the lightning our favorite again the lift the company and of the 2021 season and why is it so difficult to win back to back cups in this era of the NHL? Yeah. I mean, there's so much parity in the league right now. And like you said, the lightning, You know, they've been in it the last five years or so. They've been right there finally get over the hump well deserved and probably Arguably the most challenging circumstances. Given the pandemic Cove ID, you know, training camp going into a bubble and ultimately coming out Stanley Cup champs. So one thing that John Cooper said that this training camp was, it's a process to get to the cup. There's it's not a race to get there, and one thing I think they learned last season that you know, kept them grounded and kept unfocused was the adversity they faced. At the beginning of the season. They didn't get off to a great start. They weren't where they wanted to be before the winter break before Christmas break, I guess in the standings and six place in the Atlantic at that point. On they came out and just, you know, flip the script on everybody who had kind of doubted, you know whether or not they could. If they were still gonna be a team that you know, could play that defensive game and play within their structures. So I think that you know they are the team to beat the defending champs for a reason. They're resilient and they're bringing back the same crew pretty much, which is pretty remarkable. With all the dance moves that Julian breeze. What did Tol re sign? There are a phase and Get everyone going Burns E. So I think you know, they learned how to play in their system and their structure, and they learn how to trust the process winning the Stanley Cup championship last season. So if I'm the Chicago Blackhawks, I'm you know that's a tough match up back to back games to open up the season, a good measuring stick for them, but I think they have it all. Maybe a little bit of Ah Gray area. Who's gonna Play in that seventh defenseman 66 defenseman roll who's going to play with her neck and his turn back McDonough going to stay together more well, caliphate get some experience or Who's going to play with circuits have there's still a few question marks that fourth line, but I think all in all this team is pretty much the same as the Cup championship team and their back. They have a taste of the cup and I'm sure all of them have said, You know, they want more. Yeah, You're right. I mean, the core group is back. And you mentioned the You know what Julian Grease ball had to do. Get the core group back. If you remember going into the offseason, everyone just kind of assumed that there was this group of four players. That really pretty happy contracts. Alex Killorn Tyler Johnson, Andre Polite, Yanni, Gord. Uh, that most people felt like one of those guys. We're gonna have to be shipped out. They wouldn't be.
