And obviously the way the lightning are playing and take the growth of hockey, then went into organization from top down, You know, it's uh, it's been great, and I've been back in the area two years with high school. Hockey development and, you know, just be able to help out with the kids learn to play programs, and there's not enough space here for all the players dot Um, but it's a great thing to see. It's a great deal around the city and all the community. It's almost like a small town. Big city feel, you know, I mean, everyone's rooting for their local teams. And, uh, you know, then you can talk about the bucks to write in the race, and it's just a It's a great place to be right now. Yeah, I mean, I mean outside of what's going to happen in the next couple days. The weather is not too bad around here, especially in in the fall in the winter. Um, you know, we have 33 of the four major sports here in town. Um, and it's just like the way hockey has grown. I've been in this area since 1990 just and I played barely cocky or at least I attempt to play but just seeing the level and quality of play not only from guys who have now they they found out what hockey is and know how to play it. We were just talking with Pete Larry. It's just a little bit ago and what his son Jake is doing. Uh, 15 as a 15 year old and doing it just like the hockey programs here in the Tampa Bay area have grown exponentially over the last 15 20 years. Yeah, definitely. And he has a study as a son. They're playing off. So that whole even at that alliance program that could be his future for one K right there. Yeah, it could be. Yeah, but back to your point with the growth of clock. You see all these young kids, I'm working in the player development on side of the local players and I'm coaching GDP team, which is the high school kind of like all star team where we go and do showcase tournaments up north and we had one about a month ago, and we went up there. We competed hard, and it's um It's a testament to all the all the players that have stayed around and all the coaches, you know, I mean that the girls, I mean, it doesn't happen overnight, but there's been a lot of people that have contributed to the growth of hockey and a lot of acts. Lightning players are taking part in that as well. Yeah, well, a lot of lot of us, Uh Have kids that play hockey, too, You know, I mean, you stay in the game, and, um it's always fun to give back to something That's given you everything so to speak..

So what are your thoughts as an outsider, so to speak from a national perspective on the stuff that happened with Michael this weekend? What's going on up here right now? Well, it was, uh, minutes surprising right that a player was so out, spoken publicly about the situation, but it just goes to show you where Relationship is right now and also our baby. Will you read up on what the discussion is about this injury and how you know he wants to go about treatment. I mean, I I understand the concern of the team. And I also certainly understand the player wanting to do what he thinks is right for for his body and his career. So this is this is Putting unique and understandable, I think on both sides in the C B. A, uh indicates that the team does have more say these days with the changes in the TV over time. They have a little more say on these matters, or maybe a lot for say. And he's got his show. What I think this is a really unique and difficult in past, and I'll be curious to see how that part of it is results. Do you want to be here and deal with this anymore? But You know the injury situation and what he said about the disconnect just added another layer to this discussion. So having said all of that, if the sabers to decide to trade Jack Eichel this off season Factoring in the injury situation. What is the market for Jack Eichel? What would it be like? Well, I think the biggest thing is the injury right and what the medicals are and how how comfortable in the routine would be in the making that move, so We know what he is the player. I mean, he's still a young guy. He's a big man. When he's healthy and going. He's one of the top offensive players in this league. So and he's a settlement. So I think a lot of teams would Would certainly be willing T O pay a lot to get him. I mean, I I could imagine if you're in Anaheim. Let's say, you know, maybe you'd be willing to give up Trevor's egoist and maybe another. Good defenseman, maybe a good defense and what secrets And then maybe a kick The fighting on the medical this year in l A. I mean, maybe you willing to trade acquitted by field who was second overall text. Last year, and I'm not a couple of other good young prospects on draft picks together. I mean, this is a significant significant player. I think that's gonna be a lot of fun. It's gonna be I mean, they go after each other, Pretty good and Pamphlets, guts and challenges. I think with some guys that are probably not 100% healthy. Going into the postseason and Florida. It just seems like you know, they get an injury. They gave move guys in and out. Seems like no problem. They just keep rolling along. So you know that's a good one. And that same division. Carolina E mean, that's a team. Good. This is maybe the year they go on, maybe get to a Stanley Cup final. And that would be fun to watch those guys go head to head in the 17 serious way. Got we never really had that when you go back Into. And that's been fun to watch. Yet In the end, the division they've have, you know the game against Carolina, the two games against Columbus. I would say there's have probably been their toughest opponent so far. They're 11 in one in those three games, So I think we'll get a truer sense of just how good this team could be. After we see Florida after we see Dallas after we see Carolina little bit more. Right now. They're kind of feasting on, you know, probably the teams that are gonna be out of the postseason, but that's what you have to do. Right now. It's interesting because sometimes you know when, um you know when, when there's a need for inventory the builders. Sometimes they're slow to respond that they have not been slow to respond. Builders air creating inventory Massive amounts of inventory quickly on Dad has been for a while to compete and keep up with the band from home buyers. That is a new E. I mean, honestly, you know, there's never been a time where we've seen this kind of demand. And the interesting thing is that the one thing that I think holds Florida back and specifically Tampa Bay back is the process, the permitting an inspection process that can sometimes be very cumbersome. I mean, I own a home right now that I want to tear down And and we're talking months to get this thing approved. It's It's really kind of silly. And you know, the downside is that people out there need homes. The real estate market needs the activity and, you know they need to improve it. They need to expedite it. They need ah, process that allows this growth and need for housing to get created to move a little bit more. You know closely because I'm gonna be honest. I don't really think the permitting process does much other than say, Hey, give me some money. I've seen how manipulated it can be and how one inspector will follow everything to a tee and another guy comes in with a rubber stamp and doesn't even look at anything. There's so little consistency that frankly, I don't think it's anything other than a fee. Or can builders pay for an expedited feet? If they pay for expedited fees that maybe the permit department can hire more people. It's called capitalism, right? Like, you know, to me. Those things are logical if I wanted if I want to go somewhere and get something, and I want it faster. Pay more for it. If I want to go skip the line, a universal studios. I pay more for it, and I don't see why they can't set up some expedited department to improve that, But, you know, apparently And decades and decades and decades of governance knows really thought about that idea. So, um, nonetheless, I'll step off my podium now and just simply say we love the builders keeping up with it, and it's going to continue. More and more people are gonna want new construction our markets specifically because there's been an educational push, not just from real estate agencies. But probably, you know, the housing organizations like the Housing and Education Alliance, for example, better explaining to first time Homebuyers. Hey, look, if you.

The landing and Hurricanes are playing the first of eight meetings this season. The lighting conclude a three game road trip tonight, a road trip that originally had four games on the schedule until Tuesday's match up in Carolina, was postponed. The February 20 seconds due to Cove in 19 concerns. Tampa Bay has had three games for scheduled already this year, so it's been a shaky start to the season for a lot of teams when it comes to actually playing games. This means the schedule from here on out, it's will be pretty busy and teams won't have a ton of gaps in between games. Tampa Bay I'm sure wanted to get on the ice and play again as quickly as possible after their 52 lost the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday night. John Cooper called his team's lost Saturday in Columbus as bad a game as they've played since before the four month pause last year. You have to give credit to the blue jackets. They were the hunger team and it showed and you're gonna have some games like that, especially from a team who lost the previous night. The key for any team is not to let a bad loss turn into four because if that happens during a 56 game schedule, it's hard to compete for a playoff spot. Steven Stamkos knows there's some sloppy play going on right now. Because of the schedule. I think it's probably a little a little sloppy guys air, little rusty for sure. Obviously, I think you know you don't realize how important exhibition games are until you don't have any toe. Just get some timing down. Obviously, a lot of teams haven't played in a while. Obviously, a handful hadn't played in a really long time. So I just think just trying to get your timing back. So after the 1st 34 games, I think Most teams will start going here. Players want to play in this schedule makes it hard for them to find rhythm, But it's no excuse. So I think that you know they are the team to beat the defending champs for a reason. They're resilient and they're bringing back the same crew pretty much, which is pretty remarkable.
