"I will take a check. Recognize her from anchoring cnn cnbc and bloomberg the only financial expert. You don't need a dictionary to understand the cold lap in a few months ago. I published an episode on the hidden cost of miscarriage after experiencing miscarriage myself. At the time. I talked about the importance of private companies offering employees miscarriage leave in their healthcare policies. And since that episode aired. I was really excited to see that senator duckworth democratic representative from illinois had been working on legislation that would create federal policy for paid miscarriage. Leave and i had the honour of speaking with her about that legislation. Here's our conversation. Senator duckworth welcome to money. Rehab is good to be on. Thanks for having me. Thank you so much for being here. You're such a trailblazer when it comes to advocating for women this legislation that we're gonna be talking about today is not the first imprint. Of course you'd made on issues of reproductive health. You're the first senator to give birth while holding office and you push to change the senate roles to allow your newborn on the floor while you voted honestly the picture of you on the senate floor with. Your newborn gives me goosebumps. Every single time is yet thank you. I wasn't trying to be the first thing i was just trying to do. My job and in the senate you have to show up to vote and so you can't vote you can't phone and you actually have to physically be there so ten days. After he was born. I had to come to the florida vote. While you've been such an advocate for working women like you who have just had a baby but also working women who have just lost one for our listeners. Who might not know. Can you explain the support through loss. Act yes so. It's these legislation that i wrote in conjunction with one of my staff members. I asked my staff to come up with ideas of passion projects with themselves as passion project is unfortunately unlike me she also suffered a miscarriage and she said we need to fix this and so what. The bill does requires employers to provide. Hey three days of leave. For workers to process a pregnancy loss an unsuccessful assisted reproductive procedure loss of surrogacy. A loss of foster child a loss of a adoption failed adoption process and it just basically recognizes that people need to go through grieving process and to force them to come back to work the next day or he's the same day that they've had a miscarriage for example is really inhumane. And and you know it doesn't even make sense it's counterproductive. A one hundred percent agree with you earlier this year. I had a miscarriage and my partner. And i were ourselves so we were able to take the time off but we were so struck by. How many people can't as you mentioned. I didn't episode about miscarriage. Leave and i started petition for ceos and founders and business owners might partner as co founder. Actually the in tech company and he was the first assignment he actually told his co founder. That based on my experience they should have a miscarriage leave policy and his co founder only then shared that his wife also had a miscarriage experience. Instead of gore's we should have this. How did we not think about this before i mean. Is that what this is. No one thinks about it until they have to run. Some people also think have sick leave time for well not also from actually covers this and in the case of a failed via procedure for a lot of times you used up other sickly going through idea and ibm procedure or medical diagnosis. That affects your ability to to get pregnant. All of these things are devastating and people deserve the time to process and disney's be available to everyone so yes as as a woman suffers a miscarriage. It is devastating but it does also devastating for families who are on the cost of adopting someone. Adoption foster or with the spouse is just as devastating for the person. Who's not carrying the baby to do. We need to recognize that making people come back to the same day or the next day. It doesn't even make sense because they're not going to be productive. Give them the time to grieve and process what they're going and then when they come back to that we productive and ready to focus on their jobs. But in the meantime let's be humane. That's right and i didn't even realize until i went through at that. There is this gray area between bereavement and sick leave and pto and a lot of women. Don't talk about it for the fear of miscarriage in those early months. Honestly do you think this is something that can be done on. A government level like new zealand of course did or is this also incumbent on the private sector to step up whether the use both i think it can be done at the federal level. Which is why i'm trying to do it now but i also did this private sector right now. Can step out renders nothing preventing businesses from coming forward and just giving us a benefit to them. Please right now. So i that as many private employers as possible. Think about doing this. The bills are has two other components to one is a research component. It sets aside or five million dollars annually with the master institutes of health to research to Pregnancy loss the third component of the bill is to have the us department of health and human services. And the centers cdc develop and disseminate public information on a pregnancy boss. Is i just remember. Being my doctor's office after he said well there was a heartbeat at six point nine weeks. There's no heartbeat. you floss baby. And i'm grieving. And yet he saying because he's he's trying to keep me upbeat. It's okay to go through another ivy circle women loose baby all the time. This is uncommon thing twenty five percent of disease end in miscarriage london. Julia need to know about it. It's natural it's normal. I did think. I didn't feel that it was natural normal. My heart was broken and so to even get information out so that people understand urgency loss. I think is really important as well. Thank you for being such a champion of doing that. My heart was broken as well. Do you feel like we just needed someone like you to care about. This enough doesn't seem like there should be opposition to this but is there a. There's always it's too expensive of you. Want if you want to take time off than you should put away your time off. And there's all of that. But but most people. When i talked to about this understanding and understand that this is something that's overlooked parche ball and so i'm on all aspects of federal legistlation way ensure that i'm introducing the office standalone film and then also as part of any package that have to do in supporting our families whether it's a paid family leave or health care trying to attach to base legislation as possible the best chance of passing but then there's also just educational component is to talk to business leaders and the like to say. Hey do you need to cover this. This'll be good for your workers absolutely and you've used this legislation as an example of white diversity so important in congress. Can you explain to us what you mean by that or you know. When i came to congress. I joined the house of representative. Mike focused areas were the military. I'm a military veteran armed services and the va that was my area of specialty and an international economic relationships a woman as a progressive woman a democratic woman. I always supported things like that. Paid family leave at those things i supported. It wasn't until i went through. And i understand how critically important this wise and that's why i think it's really important for have diversity in all the halls of power whether it is the house of congress or the c. suite of corporations or the offices within the pentagon as long as those places don't look diverse and don't reflect the american people that we will all have a voice and so it wasn't until i became a mom and was trying to breastfeed in airports that i realized that there was no good place to breastfeed or to express breast milk and i literally was towed. Go plug your breast pump into the outlet there next to the guys that are charging cellphones. And you know Job became a mom. I never thought.

Thousands of Americans and Afghan Allies Remain in Afghanistan

"Thousands of Americans and Afghan citizens trying to leave the country and what has become a chaotic and even deadly situation. The Taliban has opened fire in the street to disperse crowds, killing one person. Numerous people injured US struggling to get Americans and allies to the Kabul airport, ABC s Ian Pinel. As we were driving in. I saw this, this one mom with a tiny little baby and in desperation, she was just in floods of tears, and her husband is clutching a little plastic folder with the papers that he's got to show that he has worked with the Americans. He's one of the people who should be on the plane, but he can't get past the Taliban and and and there are thousands of people down there like that. No. My senator Tammy Duckworth's says she's deeply worried about women and girls there. I was just reading a report that they would have already started knocking on the doors of female journalists and other women that have been working on behalf of the role of women and girls in Afghanistan in particular. So again I go back to I don't trust the Taliban. And I certainly don't take them at their word doctor says she's laser focused on getting US military troops and Afghans who helped the military evacuated from the country safely. She also called for the Taliban to release Lombard resident Mark Frerichs. He's the last known us hostage being held. He was kidnapped in 2020 while working as a civil engineer in Kabul. Yesterday, a Taliban leader said they didn't know where he was. And thousands of Americans still wait now and try to get there to be airlifted out as flights continue. Covid

And they are quite kind to each other and they they really do handle things in a in a more mature way than you would expect on a reality show filled with people with like huge fakes hits but they. Yeah and i think also we should be. We should be emphasizing some of the really bad effects of covert. I've seen some really dangerous. Think this sort of fox news favourite public health self anointed expert who is really really damaging tweeted. Yesterday the getting cova was the best way to inoculate yourself against kovin. No it's literally not true. No it's not to those college athletes that try to have a massive lawsuit against ncwa and these are healthy children. These are like healthy eighteen year. Olds that are having horrible effects of it but that takes us no like knowing anything we all know that we all hear that and go. That's not true true. We need norway. Playing can't do that care. I think we need more people with like long. Cove it to talk about what long cove it is. Because it's a real thing and you don't know if you're going to be one of those people that gets it. It's like playing russian roulette. Also we need to be. I've talked about this on the show. We need to be talking more about the dick effects of kovin. the is a vascular oregon. The kobe is a disease that infects your vascular system once you have covert men with covert have a five times. Higher rate of erectile dysfunction covert can break. Yah dick like we need to. We need to make that more public. It's something that is super dangerous to people who might want to have children because pregnancies are very vascular thing like it can affect the placenta. It's we need to talk about like instead of just being like you just won't get sick. Well let's talk about. What sick is what is sick. Look like who's gotten it has long term effects on your heart or ten depending on how bad it is when i had coleman which was bad but not that bad. "The every we need to reach out to trump voters and we need to stop talking down to trump voters and we need to do this for them and we need to do this. We need to stop making fun of. Why am i the only one who has to fucking be nice. Why am i the one that that all falls on. I am tired of being nice. I've been nice a lot and this is where it got us we. This is where civility got us. And it's like i. I don't i don't know i'm really angry about situation we're in. I'm six months pregnant and for the first three appointments that i had with my obgyn. My husband wasn't allowed in the room with me. So i couldn't see you know he didn't get to see the baby's heartbeat right away. He didn't get to. You know. I do all that stuff by myself. I had a scare that i had. I was having a miscarriage. I wasn't thank god. But i had to do that by myself. And that's a fucking vaccinated people you know like. I don't want people to have to be in the hospital by themselves. I don't want people to not be able to do normal things. It makes me so angry. I i don't know what makes me also because like nori eminem path. I care a lot about how people feel and why they feel it. So i have gone down the rabbit hole on all the packages that the networks have done a specifically my fav- cbs. This morning with gayle. King and i have watched all the reporters go to the hospitals and find the people who've gotten bid were unvaccinated. Who were like. We were told it wasn't that bad in this guy that a breathing tube been. He's like eight data was like a cold. This is all and on the one hand. I'm like fuck they like. It's not a few bad apples. We've talked about this before. It seems like it is mostly bad apples in a rotten basket. I'm gonna say the fish routes from the head on this one. Yeah that's that's pretty bad So here's my thing About the january six commission. It was noticeably. Calm in there because none of the children of the gop were in there agitating instead they were outside having their own press conference which was interrupted by people holding up signs declaring matt gates a rapist and that is not a. That's not on exageration. Yeah and then he got he got chased off with a i think an activist reporter saying are you a pedophile. Are you a pedophile. Are you a pedophile. It was it seemed Surreally bad an amateurish. But you know the proceedings inside. The commission seemed very mature and varied adults Adam kissing her and liz. Cheney continue to move toward what i dread as like national profiles Out of cafe wants to be governor of illinois so bad and he might do it and he's so much better than most republicans. But i'm just gonna putting it out there right now. I think adam kin zinger really might be the governor of illinois more to. I mean look aaron. Here's the thing that i think has gotten so lost in the past couple of years just because we don't agree with people doesn't mean we think they're bad people exempt all these people have shown themselves to be fucking bad but i don't think adam can zinger is a bad person. I disagree with him on many policy issues. I do think. Liz cheney might be a bad person but she is doing some incrementally good things when it comes to this narrow set of things and so you know i believe that people can change I don't know if it. I believe a cheney can change but i am enjoying watching liz. Cheney completely unleashed and kevin mccarthy having absolutely no leverage over her since he already took everything away from her and she can just kind of do whatever she wants and say whatever she wants to go home.

"It's like a very obvious attempts to use a more successful person who is in a competition that is. There's it is their moment. This is gymnastics competition Some right wing commentator who you know can't probably run a mile without taking a couple of breaks. This is in his time like this isn't his expertise time. We don't care what he has to say. And neither does simone biles and that thing. That's the thing that is really irritating about this club chasing. It's obviously designed to elicit. Ideally a response from someone like simone biles or somebody like an nbc olympic commentator. Because then they're being mentioned on nbc's coverage or there'd be rationed by simone biles that elevates them. So here's the thing you know. Simone biles does not and should not care what these people are saying. We do not live in a world where someone like this know. Conservative niche premature old man where his opinion matters in any way shape or form when it comes to a sport that he doesn't watch doesn't like care about doesn't support the only thing he's interested in his tearing these women down and it's so transparent and so i think you know we i understand the irony of like we're talking about them after their intent was for us to talk about them but we're not naming them now and we're calling them out yes. What they're doing is a really cheap kinda weenie. Lazy attempt to make competition. That has nothing to do with them. And a woman who has nothing to do with a woman who could go the rest of her life ignoring them just carry it on with her life and she would be totally fine trying to make it about them and it's not about them. It's about simone biles her mental health and the mental health of athletes in the sport. And i want to add one more quick thing People have been mentioning carries drugs nineteen ninety-six vault as like an example of somebody. Toughing it out like oh you know what kerry strug had like a broken ankle or whatever and she did that vault anyway in nineteen ninety-six That vault is an example of athlete abuse that we all witnessed like we now understand like at the time it was like whoa did it but she actually like mathematically didn't have to do that volt they could just like waited a little bit and they would have found out that she didn't have to do the vault. She could've scratched and then after when she's being carried off she's been carried off to larry nassar the team by bella karoly two of the most destructive abusive figures in american gymnastics. When we witnessed kerri strug do that vault through tears. We are witnessing an athlete. Being abused and simone. Biles saying i am not going to compete. I don't wanna get hurt. And it is my decision and i'm not going to be pushed into doing something that i'm not mentally prepared to do. Is her taking that back. And like it is to the benefit of everybody. Who does the sport of gymnastics moving forward. I think i agree. I have nothing to add. You set it all. Thank you and i will say when i was a kid i did gymnastics. Like a lotta people and you can really you know even doing you know like middle school level. Like things on apparatus as you can really fuck yourself up. I had a friend who broke both of her arms. Doing a fly away off a high bar. That's so and to just put in perspective. I don't even know what a fly away is. Because i dropped out of gymnastics before i got there because it scared the shit outta me. I didn't like the balance beam..

Democratic senator and army veteran tammy duckworth who nearly lost her life when her chopper was shot. Down in iraq summed up the president's lame duck military actions this way. I've been talking about this. And the threat to our national security posed by president trump. Actually firing secretary espa and halloween out the top levels of the pentagon and now we know why he did it. He did it so that he can make this really rash decision. "Welcome back bench. Tammy Duckworth's had some words for President Trump suggesting, of course, that the Obama administration was tough on the Russians, which is a weird take also again, setting up this narrative where it's not just that Donald Trump is bad. It's also that Joe Biden is good things. Now. The problem is that you could make the case for the former very difficult to make the case for the ladder. Here was Tammy Duckworth's suggesting the Joe Biden will not let himself be manipulated like a puppet by dictators. This is eminently untrue. The Biden administration would look very much like the Obama administration, which was manipulated routinely by both Vladimir Putin, as well as the Iranian mullahs to the point where the Obama administration became almost a literal mouthpiece for the Iranian theocracy is incredibly and I mean they were literally doing PR for the Iranians pretending that the Iranian regime had moderated while they were pursuing terrorism against American troops in Iraq. It was Senator Tammy Duckworth's, however, suggesting that Trump is easily manipulated. While Biden he's a stalwart, strong I will never be manipulated, except for how his entire career is basically a story of him being wrong on every foreign policy issue of the modern era. They have a coward in chief who won't stand up to Vladimir Putin. Read his daily intelligence briefings or even publicly admonish adversaries for reportedly putting bounties on our troops heads as President Joe Biden would never let tyrants manipulate him like a puppet. He would never pervert our military to stroke his own ego. He would never turn his back on our troops or threaten them against Americans peacefully exercising their constitutional rights. I'm amazed to hear strong on defense from the Democrats. That is a hell of a take. The Democrats have been in favour of slashing the military for a long as I have been alive this notion that Donald Trump is a threat to the troops. Well, Joe Biden's are Friends of the trips is a pretty incredible statement. Okay, So it was this sort of awkward dance before they got to Biden between weird humor, Weird, awkward humor, like not even good parks and recreation style. Awkward, weird, awkward humor, and Donald Trump is a bad man. So Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders showed up. Mainly the Cory Booker could remind you that he has a girlfriend on he talked to the Bernie Sanders. So here was Mr Potato head putting on his happy eyes on. He was excitedly talking about Rosario Dawson, his girlfriend liking Bernie Sanders and then Bernie making weird statements and, Yeah, it was it was. It was kind of strange. You could think of this sort of like Survivor on the out interviews of all the people that got voted off the island. Bernie, Bernie, don't you laugh Because I got a question for you. Like, what is my girlfriend like you more than she likes me. But let it close one body than you, and that's the obvious answer, right? These jokers. Ah mean this does remind you why Joe Biden is the nominee. Right? But that's what's going like. Yeah, Probably. They sure they're probably writes. Take Biden. That is that is a picture right there. Okay, then be booty judge suddenly reminded you that there has been massive social change in the United States and then my favorite part of this is that regardless of whether you like some of the social change that has happened in the United States, I think it's fair to say that the United States is significantly more tumultuous and divided than it was 10 years ago. And here's people to judge advocating more tumult and divide by 2030. There is a long way to go. But if this much can change between 2010 and 2020 imagine what could change between now and 2030 Imagine what we could achieve. This coalition. We're building this very season gathering progressives and moderates, independents and even what I like to call future former Republicans. Standing for an America where everyone belongs. Okay, So how much further Just doesn't wanna push here if they're saying, like Remember in 2010 gay marriage was still not widely accepted in the United States. And so he's saying that same sex marriage is now widely accepted. And that's a good social change..

"Hairless arid. Okay. So I'm going to give you one guess for what we're going to lead off with today and it rhymes with Comma. Harris is it Kamla Harris? It's Kamla Harris Yeah perfect rhyme with Harris Okay so Ever. Since Joe Biden announced that he was going to pick all women. To be his running mate, all one, hundred, sixty, six, million, or so of US women were on tenterhooks waiting to see which woman would be the King of women and on Tuesday. Joe Biden announced that he has selected. California Senator Kamala Harris as I guess are is that how vice-presidents work? She's now are king. King. She's a Queen Yeah sure King of Women King King Queen Whatever both terms can be gender-neutral now. So her nomination for veep is boundary breaking. In a lot of cool ways. She is the first black woman and the first woman of Asian descent to be the vice presidential nominee for one of the two major parties in a presidential election, which is super exciting. She was raised by immigrant parents. She was raised largely by her mother raising her and her sister alone. She's also married to Jewish guy she's like a rainbow of the American experience and she was also a former DA and a g in California. Elissa despite the fact that you know there's a lot of celebration yesterday I. Think There's something very dangerous about pretending that are preferred political candidates are flawless and I think there's something disingenuous about hiding disappointment or or some trepidation about our preferred political. So let's Give it to me straight. How did you feel when you learned on Tuesday Joe Biden had selected Comma Harris to be his running mate so Aaron I think that you and I both would agree that there were no bad candidates that we heard in the last couple of days if the reporting was correct and it was largely down to Karen Bass Hysteria fave love her Susan Rice longtime. Pal of mine and Kamala Harris the we could not lose now was Susan my dear pal and was I because of my palace and because I believe she is ready to serve was a little excited. That might be Susan I was I'm not gonNA lie did I after talking to Karen Bass the last time think that I could be team bass. I did. So I'm down we need to. Win. Kamla is great. I mean. But I think that everyone is allowed to have their feelings and they should feel free to have their feelings as long as everyone understands that like fucking time to get up and get on I agree. Well, you know as you know because you got a text for me to this effect yesterday, I was driving through a part of Kansas where parents. Nobody needs to use a cell phone All thing I know I was it was like five hours of just totally dead service and we stopped at a gas station in a place called Goodland Kansas right off I seventy and at that moment, Josh had like a bar of service and he had a text. What do you think about Kamla and it was like oh? Okay. Well, it was. My first feeling was that I was really hoping for a more progressive candidate just because Carmela is a little bit more toward the center than my personal politics are and she is although she's somebody that I find really inspiring and I think she did a great job in a lot of ways as ag California and she's been a great senator. She's been a attack dog basically on the judiciary I was hoping for somebody. Who is a little bit more Bassey in their politics I really like Karen Bass I was a big fan of Tammy Duckworth also, I think that she's got an incredible future ahead of her, she was sort of a dark horse candidate Tammy Duckworth but I would have been just completely over the moon if it had been her but that being said and don't forget Tammy Baldwin I almost forgot tammy Baldwin Baldwin the Tampa. See we couldn't have gone.

Biden's V.P. Pick Is Said to Be Imminent

"Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has reportedly narrowed the list of candidates to be his running mate. There are three leading contenders early front runner Kamala Harris. Her stock dropped slightly following loyalty questions following her attacks on Biden during the first Democratic debate. Also California Congresswoman Karen Bass, the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. She recently tried to clarify her position on Cuba and Fidel Castro. The Trump campaign is zeroed in on her past trips and former national security adviser Susan Rice. She sold her Netflix shares last week, causing speculation she's getting closer to the top Senators Elizabeth Warren and Tammy Duckworth's are also still in the running along with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Experts think Biden's choice will both shape the future of the party and be the smallest possible Target for president Trump Jackie Heinrich reports. The announcement is expected mid week

"Paperwork and be ready to answer the questions Honestly on we started expanding them to the businesses and reached over time. We're going to take a look at this list and raise some serious questions as you already have here as to who received it on why, but it was done in a hurry in the hopes of saving businesses and get me a candy back on the street. If you'd like me to go over the list and okay it I'd be happy to Senator. Oh, but you would. What do you What do you think about your colleague? Tammy Duckworth's being Joe Biden's running mate. I think it's a great idea. Let me tell you, she I met her for the first time. Just weeks after her helicopter was shot down, and she was my guest of the state of the Union address, came out of the ordinary hospital for an evening in the wheelchair, of course and lost her legs. Her husband, Brian, also in the only national guard was pushing wheelchair. I was swept away. This is an extraordinary person. Shin is encourage courageous person a determined person, her whole life story. It goes way beyond that helicopter cockpit and what happened? I think it's inspiring story. So I hope to Joe Biden seriously considering If only you could get along that nicely and say kind words about everybody across the aisle. What happened to the days when you'd battle the Republicans by day and then go to dinner with them? At night, President Reagan fought speaker of the house, tip O'Neill all the time. And then after hours they had cocktails and they got things done. And now it's a lack of civility. It's gridlock. How do we fix this? Well, I can tell you the way we finance and conduct campaigns is a starting point. It's just too damn expensive Bob. To be honest with you. There are some people in both political parties who have personal wealth they could handle whatever. But you know when it comes to the ordinary person, If you're trying to raise millions of dollars to run for election and re election, you reach a point where your friends and you come and go to the opposite side of the street. I mean, it really is tough. It's so darned expensive that it's really been taken over by many major political interest groups. Then I think is at the root of the problem that we face. There are still let me quickly and there are still many examples. I could give you a handful right off the bat. Of bipartisan cooperation that goes on. It doesn't get all the attention it deserves. Senator Durbin. You graduated from Assumption High school in the ST Louis back in 62. You were working at a meat packing plant back in those days at that time. Were you dreaming of being the next every Dirkson or the next dick beyond? No, I was a perfectly normal person in time, Bob. I was dreaming of getting out of that packinghouses fast as I could. It was one of that. Hottest, dirtiest, most dangerous jobs I've ever had in my life, and I came to appreciate what a lot of people put up with every single day they go to work. I wanted to finish college. I was going to school George Washington it really just in my senior college, I stumbled into an internship in the office of U. S senator. And that really opened my eyes to this world and got me started. Yeah, I happen to know you did like your rock and roll, though, didn't you? I certainly did still do the classic. You're Ah, You're a regular on the Sunday network TV shows What show makes you more nervous. Meet the press Face The nation. Anderson Cooper 3 60 or this program. That is Chicago keeps a watchful eye on the White House plan to send hundreds of federal agents, their president, Trump says, added FBI, Homeland Security and DEA agents will help in the prosecution of violent gun offenders. But Mayor Lori Lightfoot doesn't want to see the federal government put troops on the ground, like in Portland, and if we see any Steps out of line. Particularly with VHS or Border Patrol. We're not gonna hesitate to take the president to court and stop any unconstitutional actions. "This radio show for anybody time you'll know Hate to say I told you so. I hate I hate to say it, but sometimes events force me to say I told you so. And we saw this over the weekend with Colin Kaepernick Colin Kaepernick, that mediocre football player. Who has made millions and millions of dollars for himself, becoming a political activist and complaining about how terrible his life is. I love it when famous Millionaire's complain about how terrible their lives are. So Colin Kaepernick over the weekend tweeted out. His view of the fourth of July. Which he describes ends a celebration of white supremacy. He says that he rejects the Fourth of July celebration of white supremacy and looks forward to liberation for all When Colin Kaepernick first started kneeling for the flag protest ng the Star Spangled Banner, which means the flag, which is the symbol of the whole country. I pointed out that Colin Kaepernick was attacking the whole country and people said, Oh, no, he's not. He's just protesting police brutality. I said that that isn't true, because if he were, he would be protesting police departments, not the American flag. Well, then we got a hint that he was actually protesting the whole country when later on Colin Kaepernick protested, not just the current American flag. But the Betsy Ross flag the first American flag, which was flown before we had any police departments. It can't just be about police brutality or allegations of that when he's protesting that flight, But they kept it up. Well, now we know No, he fundamentally just hates the country. He thinks the country is irredeemably evil and terrible and that the celebration of of the Fourth of July our nation's independence is a celebration of white supremacy, which is to say our country is nothing more. In white supremacy. Obviously there's no evidence for that whatsoever. But that's what he believes. And it's not just some lunatic leftist millionaire athlete who's saying this? We're seeing this at higher levels. Tammy Duckworth's who is a potential vice presidential pick for Joe Biden came along and more or less agreed with the statue. Top lawyer's argument that we should have a serious conversation about pulling down. "Bingo card. Oh, that's a good thing. Your producer prince of backup for you every week that would suck if I threw that away, I couldn't have possibly. It's way too important. All right. Senator Tammy Duckworth has called did throw it away. Dang. Okay. Senator democrat Senator Tammy Duckworth has called for an investigation into the Environmental Protection Agency to determine whether the agency, broke federal law by granting small oil refineries, waivers to bypass regulations mandating that corn. Ethanol be mixed into their guests. Apply. Now, this has been done thirty five times thirty five waivers. From the Trump administration to, to some of these oil refineries and Tammy Duckworth is all upset about it. But she didn't give a rat's butt about Barack Obama doing the exact same thing in about the same time period. I'm sorry. He he only granted thirty four waivers. Whereas Trump granted thirty five she was completely silent about it, then not a peep out of her not one peep. Pathetic these hypocrites. Plus, she represents all kinds of interests in the. Ethanol industry. So you don't think there something going on there. Do you where she's got? Maybe a little conflict of interest, perhaps to mazing, what Democrats get away with and they're never called on it. By anybody in, in the mainstream media, by the Washington Post or the New York Times it's pretty rare. Meantime, New York City educators, apparently, told teachers and school administrators to favor black students over white students in the interest, of course of racial equality. Take you keep using that word I do not think it means what you think it means. So this is from the department of education, no consultant hired by the city department of education. If I had a poor white male student, and I had a middle-class black boy, I would actually put my equitable strategies and interventions into that middle-class black boy because over the course of his lifetime. He'll have less access than less opportunities than that poor. Shut up. That's what racial equity is. According to Dr niece among the consultant is that amazing school. I mean that is absurd. So you're doing the opposite of racial equality to bring about racial equality equality. Okay. All right. That's it's an interesting strategy, so you're using racism to fight racism. Yes. Exactly. Got it. That makes perfect sense. I don't know what your problem with that is any racism is bad. That's my problem. Really? Yeah. I know I'm old fashioned. School home school, baby. Yeah. Well, if you can absolutely absolutely obviously, since we home schooled for twenty three years, a little partial to that. But there are some people who just kind of, can't don't think they can. But you'd be surprised what you can do when you just decide to do it can make it work. Yep. Triple eight nine hundred thirty three ninety three. If you watched a recent sixty minutes, you saw the FBI, former head of cybercrimes, who warned homeowners that thieves can steal your home, and they just they do the all this online. They find your title and they transfer it over to a quick title deed, and they forged your signature, and then they can take out a massive home equity.

"Boy. Oh boy. Oh boy. Oh, boy, trying to make sense as some of these stories, and you can't you can't even make sense of them. I mean, I'm still trying to figure out why this born alive survivors Protection Act has caused so much consternation in Washington. Yeah. I I was listening to Tammy Duckworth last night. And I just have to scratch my head. Put the computer back on please. We know what the partisan extremists playbook. It comes out of one base. Not in fact, but in fiction steeped in ignorance and misogyny the goal here is obvious to bully doctors out of giving reproductive care scare them out of business, one potential lawsuit or jail sentence at a time making it even harder for women to get the care. They need when they need it. Most the numbers of physicians. Available shrinks, this is just the latest step in the far right's long March to strip away women's rights March whose pace has now quicken under our current president. Somebody help me out here. I mean, I'm just struggling with this particular aspect of the choice movement as likes to call itself. The born alive abortion survivors Protection Act is a Bill that protects babies who survive an abortion attempt. How is that even remotely controversial? What is Tammy Duckworth really talking about? How does that impinge on reproductive freedom? I you know, reproductive freedom is access to birth control reproductive freedom is access to alternatives. If you don't feel qualified or capable to take care of an infant, and your impregnated, then there are alternatives that you that are available to you adoption is one of them. Current federal policy doesn't protect babies that are born alive during a botched abortion. And all this act says is that you must provide proper medical care to an infant who survives an abortion. I mean, obviously, we're not talking about early term abortions. There's those surviving in that case. We're talking about later term abortions for a baby to survive. They have to be viable. And the thought that we're arguing about this that we are going to argue that doctors who do whatever is necessary to take care of the life. That has come. Whatever happened to like, you know, do no harm. It's hard to believe that anybody would oppose such a policy. I mean, Tammy Duckworth is a woman on mother does. She really can she shut off the mother part of her brain when she's in that body of legislators. You know, who's who's giving her money Planned Parenthood, the national abortion federation? But they're radically out of step with most people. There's nothing difficult about this. It just requires that you would have to give medical care to a baby who survived an abortion. How is that an assault on reproductive health care? I mean, it's amazing to me. They oppose making a federal law. Crystal clear to support the lives of all babies after they've been born. And they oppose this under women's health. Most of us see this nonsense, but for the professional abortion lobby. This is what they do any lawmaker who adheres to that kind of incoherent extremism should cut it out. Just do the right thing. You you shouldn't have to be wringing your hands. You shouldn't have to debate about this. You should reject infanticide period. Okay. And I love the ones who say well, the baby's already protected under the born alive. Infants Protection Act, but they're in that law clarifies that all infants born at any stage of development are in fact persons under the law doesn't say they have to be protected. They could die. They're just persons. Or they say, it's hypothetical that infants don't really survive abortions. While the data shows they're wrong municipal. Elections.

"Did you hear Tammy Duckworth with all of the same boring tedious talking points? Extremists far, right? Play that again, Pavlina for just a minute can just catch some of these. You know, these typical phrases that the the loony left likes to use in trying to vilify any of us who fight for the unborn and believe in the right to life and believe again, this isn't even unborn. This is born born alive. Born alive. Here's the here's let's let's let's listen. And this is a woman wasn't Tammy Duckworth the Senator to brought her child onto the Senate floor. They change all the rules. So that she could bring her little baby or little child onto the Senate floor. But then you'd say this. We know what the partisan extremists playbook extremists based in fact, but in fiction steeped in ignorance and misogyny the goal here is obvious to bully doctors out of giving reproductive care to scare them. Doc won the lawsuit or jail sentence at a time. We really stop it. How do you? Call a baby. That has been born alive. And the law that protects that baby reproductive care. What killing the baby. Kermit Gosnell is rotting in jail where he belongs for doing with the Democrats just voted in favor of yesterday. Think about it. Think about it. And it matters life matters. The Democrats can pretend it doesn't matter. The Democrats can make up stories about this being. Extremism. The right wing and the far, right? You don't you don't this isn't right or left. This isn't this isn't partisan. This is life and death. It is. It's beyond shocking. And I hate to make try to score political points on this. But the fact remains there's only a political solution to this. That's the only way you can complain about it you can be anguished about it and many of us are. I mean, this is this is not just disgusting. Is it's anguishing to understand what the Democrats did yesterday. Again, except for Bob Casey, Joe mansion and Doug Jones. Every other democrat voted against shaving these child's these children's lives born alive abortion survivors Protection Act. Ben Sasse who sponsored and said, this should have been the easiest vote in the history of the US Senate, not not not a hard.
