"Pretty road and kansas has been a good track for me One two races. There you know i liked to get number. Three third last fall in Maybe second third last spring so a really solid runs last year So i could see us together and Kind of taken that playoff bonus point lead out of there that would. That's a really strong goal. We haven't had a very good last three or four racist up until talladega martinsville was just an absolute disaster in a car. And you know. We lost power steering and Everything kinda fell apart and we got wrecked richmond. I felt like we were one of the best cars. Probably the best car at the end But the pit road strategy had strapped down and that was a disaster and kind of felt we gave up a win and bristow on the dirt. I'd i'd take some responsibility if i had our car. Set the wrong way. And we kind of around to eleventh and not a very strong day so i think that's raises before You know this past winter talladega. Three of them. We had really salad cars opportunities to win. And i didn't execute on it in that royce. Thanks so we need to turn that corner in. I'm looking forward to kansas and keeping that momentum from talladega going marvin ashgabat kansas. Kansas has been a good race. Track for you to wins. I think you finish Top five last two races there. When i watch a racist at kansas six out to me is the restarts. It seems like chaos. You tell us about how wild is. Restored are and how important they are kansas. When nascar first came out with five hundred fifty horsepower rules package asset was not a big fan But there are some tracks where i feel like it has done really well at in. Kansas is one of them It's really opened up the racing to multiple grooves. Better passing but restarts. All those things I it's been a strength through this rules package. I think the race ability so Kansas to me has become one of the better race tracks with these rules. That i enjoy going to now. Thank you join us buddies fun watching you. You are choosing your plates though. Man is so much fun to watch. And you're teaching. A lot of people had to do it. Six wins. i noticed. I know that wasn't on your list but enjoy. Because i can tell you there's zero here. I think zero there. You got company released so you don. I watched well. You heard me. I said how many how many you ask him. How many that's right. That was fun congrats. Oh man i appreciate it say you know looking forward to seeing you guys take over coverage here pretty soon and keep up the good work basis man all right. Well we've always we want to get you know if you guys have any questions call in and you see the number right there please call in and those are good kaufman we. We won't listen. "Coming up on this episode of the Right Tab. What world is you mad? Dak Prescott doing. Are, these boys going to actually play college football. We also got your stories about the time. You thought you were going to have a big party with a million people, but ain't nobody really show up but I. WHO BORE NASCAR made its way into. Our News gave a taste, some funny wound up in a back and forth with some do yesterday on the tweets. And I was talking about the thing with NASCAR, and for those of you who don't know I think this is an important thing to put into this bubble wallace store because there's a lot being made about effect that a noose was left in his garage area and A lot should be made about that fact, but what was going on outside the stadium was just as important of the track rather is just as important to me as the thing that happened with him with the news. Magna let me let me be careful on that. Because I do think that with the news, the thing that's important about the news the day kind of waving over a little bit. They showed everybody walked with Bubba. Wallace on track is as good a chance that whoever was out there with him on that track. One of those people is the one that put that noose in. In there right like from what they've told us about who had access to this area. It is entirely possible to somebody that's out there claiming that they was down for him on the NASCAR. Kick actually is one of the people that did this right? This might happen might be thing and so that's a concern that I. Think Nascar has obviously is which one zero people apparently did this, but the Guardian did a story about this and I didn't really see this in too many places, but the Guardian. Board is worth a British publication had this. There were people who were driving around in Talladega. With their flags right like that was the big thing they to show. They were still around, and so they ride around with they confederate flags, and then you had which I think is been more publicized a plane that flew over Talladega with a battle with a confederate flag that said default NASCAR. Right these are the things that are going on right now. The way that I put it is NASCAR is saying. Hey, we're not a racist entity. We're not racist sport in the racist alike. WHO LOOK! What do you mean you're not? I thought we had an understanding. About this one so I had some cat pop up and he was just on. You know you know I. Don't Ever Talk About Nasr. Car I don't trust is no any NASCAR fans. I know NASCAR fans right like it's not every friend that I've ever had like I know Nascar. Fans is a one thing that's also to a good friend of mine. WHO'S REALLY INTO NASCAR? Point the he made and I think the Talladega point this out. Because I told him I was like up into a raise down at homestead. Which is south of Miami. I was like. Really see the flag and all that stuff out. There is like yeah, the newer tracks. You're not really going to see it. There's like you're not gonNA see it. Chicago was an example gay, but he was like the new tracks. You Not really gonNA see. He's I, but when you start getting into the traditional tracks, rival started getting to Talladega Martinsville. To Darlington right when you start to go into those tracks. He's like that's what it's going to be an issue because it's the flag is the t shirts. It's everything else like it's GonNa. Take a lot for them to get those folks to stop doing is they? Don't have a lot of people out. If they're really dedicated to. Making this thing, happened and ask somebody hit me onto all man. You know you're only we'll talk about this because it's a matter of race in his like is not that I only want to talk about this as a matter raised, but we all have to acknowledge. Objectively speaking right if you separate yourself from the pain that's associated with this. This is the most intellectually interesting thing that's happened around Nascar in quite a while. You know like otherwise I. Don't know what else you want me to come out here and talk about. WE'RE REGARDS TO NASCAR WITH I'm a fan of not other people WanNa get you. Hey, Ma'am! There's a national story right now and we're here. BECAUSE NASCAR got one black driver in the midst of America pretending to have some sort awakening, and they got to figure out what you do. Because a lot of the stuff they've been doing only works if there's no black people around. Now. You've got a black person around. Hey, maybe we need to rethink this whole confederate flag thing right. Okay, because bubble Wallace is here and I watched what went on at Talladega on Monday? Me Give you one thing to note about Talladega. That I did not realize honestly until this morning before preparing to do this podcast. I saw this on TV after I'd seen what I'm going to tell you. But a Paul Finebaum mentioned that the press box at Talladega used to be named after George Wass. Right. We gotta take this another step further. That track at Talladega was built in large part, because Bill France, the Patriarch of NASCAR. Endorsed George Wallace for president. In Nineteen, seventy two. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah like that's the thing that's how that whole track got to be there. In the first place that is a track in large part that segregation bill, now of course, this comes after the segregation and everything else, but when you win the owner of the whole damn thing decides. He's put his arm around George Wallace for president. You're given a signal about what kind of party it is that you throw in because what we know. George Wallace Ford Segregation now segregation tomorrow segregation forever. In that who the man that RAN NASCAR put his arm around it apart to build his track there. We're talking about right now. There's track that's at the centerpiece of everything. You gotTA understand this. If you're going to talk about all of this means for Nascar right the relationship that they have with people who do things like. Wade the confederate flag. They have embraced those people. And when the time came that it wasn't really justifiable to do that. They told those people to stop bringing their flags, but then didn't do anything about it when they actually brought their flags to put this in context. Ole Miss. The University of Mississippi did more to get people to stop waving confederate flags than NASCAR deed the school. Whose Mascot is the rebels? Did More to stop people waving the flag at their stadium NASCAR DID to get people to stop waving the flag at their tracks, right. This is what they've built. And now they gotTA figure out how to take down. They had decades to do this. It didn't have to be this, but somewhere along the way they decided that this was going to be their branding right. They decided their branding was going to be a branding of the south, but a very particular kind of south because I'm talking about a south. That doesn't have black.

"Alleged sippy right below Memphis I saw saying in clubs in red survived and Red Foley came there for a show to song on the show us tons of country music this weekend on racing country classics uh yet your straight line racing news with the Iranians nitro notes presented by Wicks filters visit go prn dot com now more of the reilly auto parts paid reporters at welcome back long Caitlyn Vinci from F S One and Jordan Bianchi from the athletic glad to have you with us all right we were talking in the last set been about gone all right now is basically even with William Byron Eighth and ninth right there so Lugano technically on the outside at this point Any hamlet got upset with Llegado for race them so hard when Lagaan was twenty something laps down Lugano Justification was look we felt like we had an opportunity uh-huh maybe before the race was overpass more guys pick up a few points hamlets basically like really come on but Lugano's right now Z.. zero when it comes to how many you know what are two points could make a difference for him by the time they leave Kansas Right Caitlyn always does and we when we saw even the cutoff of her for the first round you're watching it it's moving point-by-point Newman's in then he's out enrolls in that he's out I mean every single point matters so I don't have an issue with what Joel Garner did we all know what kind of a competitor driver twenty two is he is not out there to make friends and he doesn't care yeah that's the thing is he has a history with Joe Gibbs racing which plays a part in this as well but you go back to last year in the first round tiebreakers because you know Jimmy Johnson colors and Eric Merola it happens every point matters and you look at Dover and how volatile that race was we had people falling out mechanical problems all sorts of issues one guy falls out above them all of a sudden the picks up one point and guess what that one point right now means a whole world of him I have no problem with it Lugano is where he is now he's a champion he's a multi race winner because he's racer and frankly he doesn't give a fig about anybody else there because that's and he is willing to accept the repercussions he's wanting I'm going to be aggressive if you want to be aggressive with me that's fine but at the end of the day I'm not GonNa Complain about it I don't want you to either yeah I wasn't surprised to see that joy on I mean that's kind of the racer we've grown accustomed and appreciate that that that is his competitive nature and again I mean he's out there to win he's out there to get the best finish possible why should he lay back even if he's twenty laps down still in playoff hunt it's not like he's a lap car that's not even in the hunt for a title he still is no if he got up the next closest guy is fifteen laps ahead of you and there's thirteen laps to go sure then you could pull to the garage area and get roundly criticized like Kyle Busch was the week before so long as you don't go the wrong way up that road Elliott against virtually every point matters and literally does yeah all right let's talk about really really quickly the trucks and you'll be out Caitlin with the trucks this week at Talladega it's been like what since Vegas it'll long brain almost a month it's a rather unusual schedule I feel like I've always kinda criticized it a little bit just because oh you do have these big big breaks in the middle of the play offs and our most recent winner was Austin Hill obviously a Las Vegas and right after he won we had him on the show and I said I was like a happy about this break he's like not really because we are one of the teams with momentum and so you WanNa just kinda continue on with that where some of the other teams who are maybe in kind of precarious situation right now though break maybe came at a good time for them to sort of reset regroup and really focus ahead on this this round of racetracks but I am very grateful we're back the engine blew up that is that is a whole other beast that we've been talking about it all week how we're going to approach it on the broadcast I two things and Sorta lay this out to the fans because it it's not acceptable I it's a very unusual set of circumstances obviously the the fact the Johnny solder who we all identified as possibly one of the most legitimate contenders for the title in Miami he's I granted fingers out and it's just it's hard to believe everything that transpired on that side of things to it is and it it seems unfair I agree with what Brad Keselowski said too is when you go to these common engines or SPEC engine if you WanNa Call Matt and you have a part failure breakdown in the process of building these engines you're going to have things like this and I think as Nascar shifting in this direction you're GonNa see the cup side of the next few years this is going to be I think more common and in now Nascar has to address it is you know you just shrug your shoulders and say sorry bad break and you move forward and it is what it is our do you try to figure out a way around it and I just don't see there wasn't a path for Nascar to correct this is unfortunate it's unfair and finger and solder but what do you do that doesn't that isn't equally unfair to everyone else so I think at the end of the day just Kinda gotTa Shrug your shoulders and say it sucks we're GONNA try to make it better but there's nothing we can do yeah and I hate that sort of has overshoot Addo you know some of the other storylines in break yeah because you've had a long break because there are a lot of great stories that have gone on throughout the course of the season in the truck series one that would come to mind for me is Ross chastain now obviously isn't one yet in the playoffs but in terms of the point position he's in a really good spot I just really enjoy him as a competitor of love watching when he's been able to do so far this season I expect in this round we we see him rise to the top I agree I think Ross is one of those guys that races the hard he asked no quarter he gives no quarter afraid of that and I think there's kind of a budding rivalry with him Brett MOFFITT right now and I think that's kind of bubbling a little bit and I'm really interested at the C. when this percolates and they kind of bought heads a little bit they haven't really had those moments on the racetrack depend a couple maybe but I really feel like this building to homestead where these guys are going to be really fast and you mentioned Austin Hill he's got two wins last four races this is the guy who might sneak his way in there this is interesting see and he's another guy to WHO's very aggressive you got three drivers there who don't care that's GonNa be fun to watch this at the start of the semi finals for those that have been keeping track of the Cup sir you got six guys left in this at the start of the semi finals three raises and they will innate to drivers will be in the final four so you got Talladega Martinsville Phoenix and then the final four and you guys talked about moth at one two of the three races in the first round of the playoffs and Ross chastain is the guy who was so red hot going in I think everybody expected that he would be the overwhelming favourite but all of a sudden it seems like it's kind of taken that over Caitlin yeah and you know he has obviously that experience as a past champion and talking with him to recently I think things between him and his crew chief Gerry Baxter really kind of jolting came together at just the right time it's GonNa be interesting I think maybe two for me one of the biggest prizes was young Tyler acre making his way on through that and he's never even raced a Talladega truck so I mean he is that practice time is going to be really valuable obviously for him trying to learn his way around a super run-ins in the past with Jani solder and granted finger those two are now eliminated so I would be curious like if he and I asked him when he was in for race concerned that this could come back around on you now that they don't have anything to lose and he said he actually had a conversation with Johnny Sauter in Las Vegas and kind of tried to smooth things over I think all right we'll see how it plays out can be fun to watch metallica this week kind of get back into it after a month off it's either chance for tempers to cool or for the start really.

"Anybody randomly can get a set of free tires and and it could be used to make sure your tires and sign up and participate in that all right. Let's talk a little bit of truck racing because they had the first two races of their playoff off run. Brett moffitt defending series champ with a new team. This year goes out and wins. Bristol then goes out and wins the road course in Canada now facing racing Las Vegas. He's already locked into the next round but two guys are going to be eliminated here after Las Vegas Motor speedway. I'm blown away that simply you talk about a guy. That's it's a staple of the truck. Series Been Johnny solder has just been tripping over themselves and and with with the issue of not being able to identify Hanafie why they're they're not like in the Kevin Harvick mentality of earlier say our trucks have been stupid fast and we're just tripping over our feet on pit road yeah. It's just been an anomaly of of years for Johnny. Solder 'cause you you just can't him and Matt craft in a realistically like the new Ron Hornets and Mike Skinner. They were in that series and they're representing the series areas and you're always going to be in the top two or three battling positions. Johnny simply hasn't had the year that he's wanted to over there backing authorities four or remember he had all that stuff in the middle part of the season where he got tangled up with Austin. Hill and then wound up being suspended for a race. He's only two points out chasing his teammate grant in finger to advance Tyler Ancram in the eighth spot and he's some fourteen points back but two guys will not advance after Las Vegas Motor speedway and you have to look at the usual suspects Brett Moffitt. There's already one to Ross chastain has been very fast freezing up into the third spot in the standings and Matt Craft and another veteran who has a really good record over history not necessarily this year on the mile and a half tracks and Austin hills. Come on of late as well yeah. They need to go to Vegas every driver you just mentioned and just have a good race we don't need to be. We don't need put a cap on it becomes Superman the driver. That's having the most fun so far is realistically ten races. Ago Wasn't doesn't even collecting points off dame. Ross chastain always got a smile on his face always realistically I don't want to say flipping the series the bird if you will but really has no concern over who cares what about what he's doing like. He doesn't if he upsets anybody or upset everybody. He's happy about it because that's what got him here. Driving up watermelon big time driving hard and having those niece motorsports guys really give him really fast trucks they they do have the alliance with G. L. S. but but he's beating those guys right. He's beating guys that realistically in the past have been considered better drivers and now he's beating them in their own equipment so Kudos to those guys. That's the one driver I hope can make homestead to to put on the show there because again that kind of track favorites his driving style but the other guys as we you mentioned Johnny Sauter only two points out. This thing is still wide open. One of the guys could win that we don't expect one of the guys could beat somebody by what three spots and advance. That's all takes at this point. The the margin is so close at the back end of the field. That's all it takes you know in truck racing at Vegas again as a as a wide open scenario these guys are going to be. It's almost like a mini daytona slash slash Talladega. It's a full on draft wide open for most of the corners and the thing offers that Vegas as you can go from the very bottom all the way to the top to try to get the best run possible possible so if your trucks not handling on the bottom line you can go to the middle or top and figure out where it is but you're going to be wide open for most of that mile and a half and produces one of the best race of the weekend we we will have by the way here on the motor racing network the world of West Gate. Two Hundred Gander outdoors truck series playoff race number three eight thirty this coming Friday and it is is Friday the thirteenth. Are you superstitious. Now it'll bring justice. It'll be a full moon yeah. I'm not really superstitious right. It's just a little service officious that makes all the difference as we go out there for a tripleheader weekend. It's GonNa be interesting to see. You've got a lot of team. Trucks running together in in the in the truck series there with Stewart freeze and also having the affiliation with then you've got the door sport guys with crafting and finger and johnny solder up in the standings yeah. I'm looking forward to the next three races in the truck so they don't go consecutively but they're they're the Vegas race which will be cut off and you got Talladega which who knows it was just crazy and then on the complete opposite end of Talladega Martinsville Yeah Right. It's like a slow motion. Talladega if you will be as much carnage at Martinsville's at Talladega will produce but the next three races obviously give you a really good idea. It's going to really dwindle the field down and then really put the pressure on whoever goes the Phoenix to try to make that last cut of the final four four for homestead so they have a really good set racist coming up that will provide a lot of good opportunities for the good teams as long as they don't make mistakes and anything can still happen for sure. We've seen a a lot of that in the truck series so far. This season set for another time out here on. 'em Are out loud. We'll talk about some xfinity racing and what we can expect there when we come back America. It's the moment you've all been waiting for. That's right outback delivery is here. They can enjoy lawyer affect favorites..

"Is that something you do on a regular basis because you're running you've gone. I mean relatively quickly from cannon arca transam. Do you run a lot of sim style programs for training thing or is it really just hands on yeah. We try to go there as much as we can and <hes> if i'm going to a new track where they're practicing that new track in does help. It's really cool. I wish i could explain it in aviation. We rely on simulators because there's so many things we can do in the box that you would never ever do in the airplane. Do you find yourself either without a sim availability running i racing or are you an eraser at i have done a little bit of i racing but once i was on the tortoise as like yeah even though it's as real as it is. It's still a game up gotcha so do you find yourself after a assim session and then you go to this track that you have been to before going whoa this is different than i thought <hes> well the same it really helps because you see your surroundings things and you come up with marks of where you need to turn it really accurate. It's so accurate yeah so it really does help with that when you're in the same. It really does feel like you're at that track back now. Let's talk about something that kinda got famous for you this year the hatful. I think it was kentucky. Tell the folks what happened there and what happened with the hat because that thing blew up on social media you were you. Were like an overnight celebrity after that. What happened on those. That was pretty funny funny. You're right correct me three times for no reason. I don't know why no history or anything. I never even knew him until i was racing. Refresh who we're talking talking about expensive. Okay okay yeah so this time. I don't know what he was thinking like. He was in front of me and going into turn one any like up to clear himself and he wasn't clear silverlake. He right reared himself and i would have been fine. If <hes> the number three didn't get into meet a push me more to him so so i think like we would have been fine and could've kept racing <hes> but i was just like what were you thinking sponsor like. That's what i told him and he just said oh i don't know and so i just got so angry with them. I was like this is the third time spencer so. I flipped his hat off his head. I couldn't do anything if i hit him in the hat up and made it a celebrity put it on his car or something something on the way home yeah now. I still don't talk to them. We have five races left that you're going to run vegas talladega martinsville phoenix and homestead the only two tracks you could remotely share the same are vegas and homestead. Maybe in their different kinda different yeah. That's really barely yeah yeah so of the five. What do you look forward to the most and what's the most challenging <hes>. I'm really looking forward to talladega. I love my first time on on a superspeedway absolutely fall in love with it so i'm really looking forward to that but vegas is the next up and coming right so that's the one i'm looking forward to the most. We've already been there at the beginning beginning. This season and i really enjoyed it. I'm pretty sure that was my best friend. I had and i'm really excited back. Who vegas thanks right. What can go wrong and everything that happens in vegas. Stays is in vegas now as you move through the rest of the season. I'm not sure if you're kidding or not but you said you don't think you're really friends with any of the guys who who do you lean on. Who do you get <hes> advice from because most young drivers when they come up they find that one person who's willing to help them a little bit and talk to them..

"I mean it had that feel to to me to shame. We couldn't get it done. We come on short. But it was it was definitely an effort for the ages, and we'll have Mt. Jay talked to us. Once again, I'm sure they'll be differences. You know, I feel I don't feel like it'll be a big difference. You know, the good thing about there's I know what to expect at everybody there. I'm familiar with the place and familiar with the people and familiar with the with the equipment and the cars, and I think they understand me and kind of how I tick and really the last three years of working together with furniture. Oh, and JD are working together. It's it's been a great relationship. And ultimately, that's what led to. To me getting opportunity was just that have that confidence, you know in in one another and so I'm excited for it. You know, it's definitely going to be something different something new, but. I think a lot of the things that you would normally have to figure out learn about a new team. I already know very done it, you know, so that'll make the transition a whole lot easier. So Martin's wins came at Fontana, California, Pocono, Noma and Kentucky. It's just amazing. How diverse these drivers are these days when you'll get Martin season. He had several times where he was very close real comes to mind for sure the Bristol night race comes to mind is very close there until you got wiped out by Cal Bush. There were a lot of times at Martin. Sure juniors very close victories this season and just something happened. So he was very close to possibly having a six seven maybe eight win season as well. But the cards in fall didn't Joey wipe him out to believe. So so yeah, martinsville the at the end there. So I mean, there's a lot of races. That's his track. It is. That's his track. Its in the name for twenty nine hundred Martin tricks junior makes a huge move over to J G R as furniture. Acing his former team his former championship winning team from Denver Colorado is closed down for good. That's a bummer that was a real fun story to watch unfold last few seasons that that little team that could built up into a championship contender, and we can and we out contender for the victory. And now they're no longer with us. We're going to let you off the hook is. There is no all Joey all the time episode. We are going to take a look at the champion up next on T F L W what? Lap weekly. Joey logano. And you're listening to. His name Toby Christie, my name Kerry Murphy to shows T F L W or the final laughed weekly everything covered there. Yeah. So that's get into it. And let's talk about the champion as our look at the top sixteen NASCAR Cup series. Drivers comes to close with this one for the twenty eight racing season. Coming in at number one for one champion Joey llegado racking up wins at Talladega martinsville. And of course, the season ender at homestead Miami speedway to capture the trophy the Cup. The weird looking spoke thing that is now lighter than it used to be that. I didn't know here's Joey last ten races of twenty seventeen when I feel like we finally hit the would at that point was our bottom after missing the playoffs. And we slowly started building some faster cars getting better results. And we started off and being a year having some solid results and being consistent and then about fifteen races ago that was to me the turnaround moment to where we were from running fifth to tenth to fifth. I and that I think it was really the. The moment where I felt like family, you know, we win the right races. We can win this championship. We weren't the favorites at the time. But as the season kept going along in the playoffs kept going along. Knock a few guys out in each round. And next thing, you know, you know, you're sitting there and around eight and you win at martinsville. And you got to better in anybody. All of a sudden, it's amazing. How quick it turns around that point favorites to make this happen? And we were in my opinion, not agree with that doesn't matter. What everyone thinks about it? You have to believe it yourself before you can ever do it. And here's old jail. Once again for me, I want to be the champion that's going to help grow sport..

Two cars were damaged in the accident over in tournament three, but look like they'll be able to continue, but exactly how serious the damage is will kind of have to wait and see young Bill Elliott from Dawson Ville George a lot of front end damage. Apparently he just ran right into the rear end of somebody while trying to dodge all the spending cars over in that third corner. So did buddy Baker and the wood brother's car, the front end of that car severely damaged. Also, they've got some tape on it and they're still working on Bill Elliott's car. Dale Earnhardt has been in and out of the pits. A couple of times Jerry punch is making his way over there to find out if there is a serious problem on the Wrangler machine. Earnhardt has beat the caution car out twice in a row as they worked on the car and put him back onto the speedway. So here at Donnington Darrell Waltrip was the first car to the flag Waltrip started on the outside pole and was running second. He was able to dip underneath Tim Richmond without incident. So he has led all six of the lapse here, and they've all been run under the caution flag right now, Geoff, Bodine's writing in a second slot. Joe Rudman is third. Harry Gant running fourth fifth as Ricky Rudd in six is Mark Martin seventh is Ron Bouchard in eight slot. Bobby Allison as the field moves over in front of gold behind Bobby Allison, David Pearson will be lined up with kale Yarbrough tucking in right behind him. Richard petty will follow to round out the top ten then comes dick Brooks. Tommy gala at a nice qualifying run us moved up just knocking on the door of the top ten buddy Arrington trails him. Then Jimmy means Ronnie. Thomas Sterling Marlin Ronnie Hopkins j d mcduffie and the rest of the field, including so Gordon who drives his own car number twenty four here this afternoon. Well, as we said that is the one thing all the drivers really are concerned about on any speedway. We go to whether it be Darlington Talladega martinsville anywhere is when they first dropped the green, the field very tightly bunched all the way back through that thirty six starting position. If there's trouble right at the head of the pack, it's almost impossible not to get a piece of it, but the field did a heck of a job over internal three for no more cars to be involved because that was right at the front of the field where everything was certainly was Barney. We counted as we said, ten cars involved. Apparently a so far only three will go to the garage area, Tim Richmond, Benny Parsons and Terry Labonte will get an update from there in a couple of minutes. Let's go to the garage area right now. Jerry punch Barney. We've caught up with Benny Parsons, bitty ten car melee back there. What happened. I wished only been a non car, but unfortunately wasn't in God's. I guess, evidently Richmond blew up someone in the very front of the bag. Blew an engine and the car simply tried started trying to stop to avoid the crash. Maybe some of them on the Orleans spun. I don't really know. But back where I was, we were just trying to stop devoid the wreck. And you know, when you've got eighteen cars trying to stop all the same time, it's becomes a problem. Somebody hit me in the back spun me. I hit Earnhardt with mine, left front at his right from my left arm it and it not my alcohol, which I can't. I have to change the oil cooler to go back out on the rice drag. It would take some time, so there's really no point to do it at all the fans at home here. Okay. The very discouraged because you know, we felt like we had a after Atlanta. We felt like we had an opportunity here today and you know, not even get a first lap in as often disappointed. While you can hear that at Benny Parsons, we'll give it up date on Dale Earnhardt. He's been back in the pits. Number times. The car is. Still missing somewhat. But more says they might have pulled a couple plug wires, Earnhardt spun in turn three trying to avoid that crash. They have replaced the plug wires with the missing still continues to. They're looking at possibly putting on a distributor cap and try to get rid of the ignition problems. Now, the cleanup crews are still working over in the turn three and four area where the caution came out on the first lap of competition in the trans out five hundred Tim Richmond, losing an engine over there and causing all kinds of problems for more than half the field. We are working the ninth lap of three hundred and sixty seven that make up the race here at Darlington, South Carolina. Here's the way they're running. Darrell Waltrip is a leader, Jeff Bonein rides. Second third position car belongs to the ninety. Eight car of Joe Rutland enforce spot will be Harry Gant writing. Fifth right now is Ricky Rudd and six positions should be Mark. Martin seventh is Ron Bouchard eight. This Bobby Allison. Ninth is David Pearson, tenth caled Yarborough eleventh is Richard petty, and twelve is dick Brooks on a lighter note. And speaking of dick Brooks, a couple of birthdays in a garage area. This weekend, the really Ray Mark Hodgson crew. Presented Butch mock with a birthday cake yesterday and Friday. It was dooney Don Levy's birthday. Now, Junie owns the number ninety car that dick Brooks drives on the circuit that Sonny king Ford, Honda Ford automobile and Brooksville descent on how they celebrate. It hasn't a was Jimmy Jimmy non-alignment birthday. Her NAR Friday was anyway, and of Kirk got together and he's talking about a low budget organization. They brought a saltine cracker with peanut butter in a match stuck down in a top of it. So having birthday don't him blow to match up next weekend. NASCAR Winston Cup series moves up to north wilkspur, North Carolina for the running of the northwestern Bank, four hundred a full weekend of action with qualifying Friday and Saturday. Plus the Darlington dash series in spring one hundred on next Saturday, north woods, borough speedway's ticket office will be open all this week also next Sunday. If you're up in the New England area the spring sizzler at Stafford springs, Connecticut kicks off the NASCAR modified Winston racing series and Budweiser series at that speedway an
