While authorities have yet to identify the victims, neighbor Richard Arnhold said a family lived here for a couple years and the man was working in construction. I know the last time I talked to the father, he said he was having trouble, but I didn't know what his trouble was. Police are collaborating with Seattle Fire to get answers for this neighborhood. Still struggling to accept this tragedy, and questions unanswered about how it happened and why. We don't know the circumstances, we don't know if this was something that just happened quickly or if this happened over time. They live on us, in you know, and things like this we can remember. A Seattle man's back in custody for an alleged attack at a park in South Lake Union we get an update from Como Force Jeremy Harris. Paris Alcantara appeared in court with the help of a cane but this is the man who police describe as a staggering danger to the community. Alcantara was picked up over the weekend for allegedly chasing a man with an axe or metal pipe through Cascade Park while yelling I'm going to kill you. He's not likely to obey any court orders and he's a danger Alcantara was arrested in August for allegedly starting this massive fire at his former homeless encampment on Mercer Street. Charging documents allege he told police that a candle he was burning had tipped over but police say witnesses saw Paris leave the encampment as the fire was spreading without calling for help. A municipal court judge ordered Alcantara could be released without bail on those charges and ordered him not to return within a thousand feet of the Mercer Street camp. Police reports say he's been camping now at Cascade Park, which is 1 ,050 feet from his former camp. Jeremy Harris, KOMO News. Drive -on ferry service between Seattle and Bainbridge will be closed for nearly a week as crews install a new walkway at Bainbridge Station. Crews will start the work on September 7th, work through the 13th. During that time, crews will lift the walkway structures into place on their concrete and steel pilings. That means no drive -on service and the Seattle Bainridge route will operate on reduced one -boat schedule. Again, that's 7th September through the 13th. And today, the Seattle City Council is set to vote on a plan to put a large lid over Interstate 5. A park would then be built on top of that. The project would also connect downtown Seattle with Capitol Hill. It's 5 10. Let's get you over to the Beacon Plumbing Sports Desk where we say good morning to Eric Heitz. Good morning, Brian. The Huskies, excuse me, the Mariners fell behind 5 -0 and never recovered on the way to a 6 -3 loss to the Reds in Cincinnati. Brian Woo allowed five runs and five innings of work. That loss drops the Emmons into first a place tie with Houston in the AL West. Mike Ford and Julio Rodriguez both launched home runs in the setback. The series continues at 3 40 this afternoon with Bryce Miller taking the mound for the Emms. Honors for two of the Emms as outfielder Julio Rodriguez is American League Player of the Month for August and Andres Munoz is the AL Reliever of the Month. The Seahawks opener is just a few days away as they host NFC West rival L .A. Rams on Sunday afternoon at 1 25. Safety Jamal Adams is expected to miss the game as he still recovers from a touring quad muscle from last season. Also rookie cornerback Devin Weatherspoon could miss the game as he recovers from a sore string. Now onto the Huskies. The Huskies prepare for their second game of the season as they host Tulsa this weekend after last week's 56 -19 win over Boise State. Head coach Kaylin DeBoris says there's still room for improvement. Things to build on that were done really well and things just to continue to address and in areas that we can improve so I think week one to week two is always a big improvement. keep it. The Huskies didn't suffer any injuries that would cause anyone to miss Saturday's game. Sports at 10 and 40 past the hour, Eric Heintz, Northwest News Radio. For the next couple of weeks it plans on weighing its passengers at select ports. Mike predicts your reaction isn't going to be very positive or supportive telling CNBC we have all this pandering that people will be embarrassed. Look, in the old days when I was a kid and occasionally you'd have to ask somebody for their weight they never give it to you last. If you write it down say write it down on paper there's a woman as big as a moose who says I weigh 10 thumb. No darling, you don't. Oh Mike, HR is online too for you but the fact remains Korean air is weighing passengers right now on select flights and they're doing it because it's the law. A spokesperson for the carrier says all Korean Airlines have to weigh passengers every five years to ensure safe operations and NBC's Monica Petrelli adds weighing passengers isn't exactly new we saw it earlier this summer from Hawaiian Airlines

Evangelism on SermonAudio
A highlight from Loving God First
"You are listening to Bible Direction for Life, the sermon podcast of Westside Baptist Church in Bremerton, Washington. We pray that the preaching and teaching you hear on this podcast connects the truth of the Bible to your life, that you would learn more about the triune God who made you and what he made you for. And now here's today's message. Well it's a great joy and privilege to be with you. The third thing I'm passionate about is donuts. Is it Sly's Donuts in Pozbo? Is that still there? Yeah? Okay. We used to call it the Farmacy, that's what we used to call it back in the day. Actually I'm not a big donut either, I'm just kidding, but I do remember the donut shop and there then there was one in Port Orchard that was really good. What was the name of that one? Do you remember just around, oh yeah, that's what it is now, right? But it was under a different name. How do we get on this topic anyways? It was me. All right. But it's a blessing to be here. I love being in the Northwest in the summertime. Thank you. This is a blessing from you to me. Just being here in the summertime, seeing the water is a refreshment. We have the dirt in Yucca Valley, but we don't have water. I tell people, it's like the beach, we have a lot of sand, we don't have water. And so it's just a blessing curling several of the curls around from, what is that, Tacoma into Gig Harbor and then coming around Port Orchard into Bremerton and just glancing over God's creation. That's just worth the trip right there, seeing something that I grew up with. And then this summer, actually March 20 years, that I've been a Christian. 20 years ago, last July, so just passed a couple of weeks ago, I came to faith in Christ in Stanwood, Washington, Warm Beach Christian Camp. Any of you familiar with that campground? All right, so 20 years ago, I went to that youth camp. I was 16, a month before my 17th birthday, and I had heard the gospel a thousand times. And I made a profession of faith when I was younger as a child. My dad's a first generation Christian. He wanted me to become a Christian naturally. He didn't put undue pressure upon me to become a follower of Christ, but I know he desired that for myself and my sister. And so went to the camp, heard the gospel, preached all week in cabin devotion. Somebody asked a question that I had heard a thousand times before. And that question is, if you were to die tonight, are you 100 % sure that you would die and go to heaven? And I knew that if God was good and if God was just that, I would die in my sins and go to hell. I knew I was living a double life. I knew that the wages of my sin was death, but I also knew the good news of the gospel. And it's that night that God melted me, humbled me, showed me my sin, my need for a savior. So this summer is special for me being up here because of March 20 years since I've been a follower of Jesus Christ. So I'm so grateful. Becky sends her love. She wished she could be here with us during this week. But as I mentioned to several of you, we have an older van with a lot of miles on it. And God spared our lives in the last road trip to Texas. So it was that balance of do we trust in the Lord driving to the northwest during the summer or is that tempting the Lord? And so after prayer and consideration, after seeing that even rental facilities don't have 12 passenger vans. So if something went wrong with our van, you can't even get a 12 passenger van. You can't fit two adults and seven kids into a tow truck either.

I've been amazing to see all the work of our staff our volunteers and our fosters coming together to make sure these rabbits are healthy and happy and making sure that they're placed into either maybe temporary homes or transfers. And haney expects an influx of other cute four legged creatures very soon. At the start of springtime, as things are warming up, we're going to see a lot more kittens and pregnant cats coming through our doors. So people can help us out. We're also doing some maintenance on highway two, just west of man road insult into that's causing a two to three mile east bound back up at the moment. Some routine cleaning on the agate pass bridge is affecting traffic on both directions of highway three O 5, getting to and from bainbridge island, especially heading east or southbound out of the poles, but areas very heavy right now. And getting through Seattle on I 5, really not too bad. We're pretty smooth on both directions of the freeway there. Wide open on both of our floating bridges, Bellevue traffic is nonexistent right now in the freeways just a little crowding though on south four O 5 right around the kidney Dale hill. Democrats Embrace 'Harm Reduction,' Still Promoting Drug Use
"Something we can do right now is end this drug permissive culture As a result of the decriminalization Because as much as research shows that the availability of naloxone will save lives that's true Research also shows that you can't die from an overdose and you don't even need naloxone if you're not taking the drugs to begin with whether it's fentanyl heroin meth whatever it is But Democrats have embraced a very specific strategies called harm reduction And maybe you've heard that term before Again if you watch me on Fox News I talk about this all the time Harm reduction You see they don't want to stop people from using drugs because if you're telling them that what they're doing is bad that is judging them and that would be stigmatizing and you're not supposed to stigmatize drug addicts which is of course an absurd position I think we should absolutely stigmatize addicts If that stigmatization actually leads to them getting clean and not dying of an overdose something tells me once they are sober they'll thank us for stigmatizing them But Democrats don't want to do that And so they make something that's dangerous quote unquote safer except it's not really safer we hand out needles as much as we hand out Narcan which is one of the drugs for naloxone In Washington state for example we are told that we should expect to see someone who's overdosing on fentanyl We should expect it We should order naloxone from the county from the state they'll ship it to us always have it on you In case someone is overdosing In Tacoma Washington We're getting Narcan vending machines They already exist in Portland I think they exist already in parts of Los Angeles or maybe it's San Francisco But you have Narcan vending machine machines Naloxone vending machines And it's being pushed at least locally here in Washington by the Tacoma needle exchange
