"Having on in this hour Kathy gibson we know each other. We've overlapped before bays of whatever and i remember. You were producer for a woman that was a talk show host and a sister station. I was on in the bali. And i can't remember her name. Kerry gilbert went. Pull your mic up pretty your face. They're better terry. Gilbert cues conservative Christian right bring god american. Don't kick but you know. And i remember we talked. We worked together with her on different things before and Have you ever been on my show before there was i have. It's been a long time ago. It was okay. You are i remember. I think i know who she is. Kathy gibson boatman. I'm the good kgb. Say could you know these parts and kind of around our state okay. This is how what i remember. A kathy is a good story in. Oh two there was a big giant fire up here and they were prevented from protecting their own property. Federal government came in. You got to bulldoze writing. Fictive not allowed now. Burn baby burn mill all. Y'all how we we we. I mean you know whatever like what's going on in california got a bunch of people here cure that watch this you know so is kind of the mindset. That was going on that peter. Some weird going on. You're not starting to shut down the forest. They're starting to shut down the land. There are starting to go after farmers miners and ranchers start is what's going on. Well this came out of the photo and rio gender and nobody knew about it. They just created these regional governments. They are trying to legislative powers under county level older bureaucrats and neil to harass the people. Eat out there substance. I mean here. It comes while they did scratch the surface and they found out that macau gorbachev when he left the soviet union being the head as obi in charge there all of a sudden he disappeared. What happened to him. He started the green cross the green cross at watermelon. We're green on the outside red in the middle. We're going to recur pro yet through environmentalism. And all his agenda. What environmental stuff. Well they did. And when they started invading into arizona and the ranch land and the rural areas and all the there used by bringing the wolves whatever the heck they can do that. Tell you how to use your land to the point that you could not defend your own land against fire. And that's when you've got what the heck and you remember. You came on my show. And i have used that information more than you can imagine a me understanding what was going on. Well that's good to know because in this little community we are this enclave of freedom. We are this this frontier spirit like your previous guest was saying there's a frontier spirit here and just this past summer. I went my sweetheart. Who was his. Name's kenny garvan. He was the water operator for the town of hebron during that fire and we didn't know each event but now you know all these years later i had him take me this summer to the place where the town took a stand and said we will fight this fire. Because it's correct. The government had equipment lined up clear down the highway. It was just sitting there not being used. And meanwhile here comes the fire barrel and into town into the main canyon in town where it would take a town and the people here knew what was what was happening and they said no. We're not losing our town. So in spite of the authorities giving stand down orders to the official fire service the officials in the in the forest service and our local fire department these local citizens private citizens took equipment up into the canyon and they pick the best spot where they knew that if the fire crossed the canyon there. The town's gone and these people went up there and they took a stand. They made fire line. They just plowed through it. Push the trees side. There was cats. Go on there. Was people going behind them with chainsaws and they. They made a fire line and they made a stand. You know what that is where that fire stopped and did not take our town. They had spot fires coming in. A lot of people did lose a lot of stuff though. We lost a lot but had they not done that. We would have lost the whole town the elementary schools. There you know everything's would have been lost. Had they not taken that stan and we went out there because it was just independence day you know independence day. Our our governor. It made some some some more decisions and put his edicts out. That was going to stop. The the the independence day celebrations are chamber of commerce had decided that they could not follow the governor's code kobe guidelines and still put on these celebrations so they were cancelling the parade. They were counseling. The fireworks there were canceling everything. Independence day we wanna know what people just did it anyway. Screw them we did it anyway. We said no. We took a stand before. We're not the kind that just says well. Okay we'll we'll just give up thin so we in the in the span of a week from friday that it was determined all that was cancelled to the following friday when that parade was scheduled we in the community through a parade and we had very little social media. There's a group in town that has a has an announcement pedro bulletin page. But they stay away from political issues and and some free speech so they couldn't do much advertising about this little parade we were throwing but we still managed to pull that parade off. We went from the american legion. We had probably we had in the thousands that actually attended and participate and it was awesome. It was we have. It was the most patriotic feeling. Ever in my sweetheart kenny. Because he's one of those that will take a stand as well. We said okay. We'll go first because if anybody's getting arrested we'll take a chance. Take a chance. Take a chance of not getting arrested. I'm like bringing home reno. Rigging on go pick me pick me to go. Because he called their bluff a lot of times you got to be prepared for them to call your bluff. Go you take you. I'm gonna that we won't know. I think you will know. We really really rescued. I go yeah. I really really no no. We really really well. We'll i go. Okay bring it on do it as rock and every time you start pressing that kind of pressure against him a lot of times they back off but then they wanna get you later need. Need to know who the leaders are. Well one of the things that we did for protection is. I've known sylvia allen for long time yes i've known her since fire days and she's someone that i consider a friend as well as my senator so i contacted sylvia. Nice and sylvia. We're we're going to have this parade anyway. And i would feel so much safer if you would come and she said wow for one. But she said. I'll be there. And she there. And i just knew with senator sylvia allen here with us to stand with us. They're not going to arrest us and on top of delay due on top of that. We have the best float in the whole parade. We ordered patriotic costumes for all of our grandkids. So you know those statues they're tearing down. We celebrate those statues. We had been franklin. We had lady liberty. We had betsy. Ross we had paul revere. Land.

"It's It's just no reason for you to exist, then now when it comes to charter schools They no matter what, even if juicy, comes out like I expect him this weekend to push everything back another two weeks to Labor Day or, you know, from the original data of three weeks, whatever that is, um Unless you're a private school, you have to comply with this even charter schools here, right. If they're getting some kind of state funding, there's nothing that they could dio because I mean, I know I've called charter schools and I'm thinking about enrolling my son and they're like we want to start as soon as we can. But if do she pushes it back, there's nothing we can do So even charter schools, which are great have to comply with Lucy's orderto do not have in class learning. So you bring up a very good point. And this is the come to Jesus moment. Right? And churches are bound by this as well. If you want the money, it comes with strings. So the money is what is enslaving us? I'm asking parents to settle it aside. Don't even ask for the don't have to find a way to do this outside of the regulation that is put on you because of the money. And there's freedom in that that is freedom. And so to say, Well, we have to wait because we want the money. So in order to get the money we have to do X Y and Z And and that's the problem. So you've got to be careful what you ask for. And any time you look at money in wherein government, it always has strings attached. And that's how the control happens that the federal government controls the state's inside the state's control the school that you know, so I just it's always about the money so at some point As a parent. I'm gonna have to turn my eyes away from all of it Might you know and say my absolute number One job is being a parent and part of that job is the mind of my child educating them and right now. The whole system isn't working. What was it that Ronald Reagan said government isn't the solution to the problem. Government is the problem. So sit aside and do it ourselves. And find a way to make it happen. And I think Michael schools is the answer for right now, maybe not long term, but right now that's the answer. So find a way to do it and you bring it up again. I know I said last one, but this is the real last one. Because I gotta give you credit for this. This happened a few weeks ago. I didn't get a lot of attention. There was a radical group trying to push LGBT Q. Sex Ed on have certain language put in there for public schools. K through 12. And you helped lead to fight along with purple for parents. There was a big decision a few weeks ago because they were trying to pressure the state board to put like new sex education standards and write and you guys fought back and won that. Yes, And it wasn't just me. You know Sylvia Allen was involved, and ah, former Senator Steve Smith and and purple for parents forced Moriarty, who, by the way is running for my open seat and I fully endorse him. We need people like this to come forward and stand up for parents and the avoided the parents turn out to be So there are sacrifices you have to show up. You have to push back. You have to take the bull by the horns. And you have to say enough is enough. Because if we don't if we want to just focus on our own little world in our jobs and stuff. In the background are the activists. The teacher there are telling your kids a lie, you know, and it's growing and growing and growing, and sometimes these kids turning the parents and it's just becoming exponentially. So, yes, we have to push back. We have to say no. If we don't. We don't have an excuse for what happens next. We have to stop or doing right now. And say what needs to change and realize that we as parents are the change. Well, Kelly, if you find out anything about the legalities of people want to do these micro schools or homes or whatever it is whatever you find Regulation wise. Please let me know when we'll get you back on again to talk about it. I think you have set forward a great option. And we all need t realize and reset. What our priorities are. I really appreciate it. Kelly. Thank you so much for Ah, you're interesting Take on this. You bet. Thanks for having me on You got will continue its canister. When you complete the 2020 senses today.

"The process employed to create this in the center ring of the conservative circus. We have state senator. Sylvia Allen She's the chair of Education on the Education Committee and Senator Alan I wanted to get your perspective on Superintendent Kathy. Office plan to put up schools A. What did Oh. Thank you so much for letting me be on an and voice my concern about this I feel. It's thirty six pages of government dictating every aspect of school operations. And we have in our state flexibility and local control that we get to our schools because we want parents to have more control, also, because of that the state dictates everything that meets. The parents have less control and I wanNA point out something. That's really important here. People do not realize that the Superintendent of Public Instruction in the Arizona Constitution States is an executive branch of the government. She's the executive branch. She's an administrator over ten billion dollars money that is appropriate to education over the education programs that the legislature policy create its the legislature. The People's branch that creates policy and so this thirty six pages, AH, dictating to the school's. Policy that she her department thinks they should operate under I. Think if is misdirected because she's an administrator, the executive branch and more that needs to come from the legislature seemed like this is an ongoing theme here a we have people who are not in the position or I should say not elected to a position although she has given us these these policies suggestions were actually there usurping the job of the legislature An and not come to think of it. I thought that the the legislature. Saini die prematurely. This is one of the things that they could have been laying out in in preparation for schools opening back up my right about that. Absolutely. That's why I had originally voted not to sign Sinai but let me tell you that representative Michelle you dog, who's over the house? Education Committee and myself we are working on legislation right now for the reopening of our schools, and in there we are making it clear that we want our schools to to Get back to normal. Get back to recess and sports and extracurricular activity and focus on the joy. Joy of learning not to fear this virus, and in the superintendent thinks she talks about schools need to look at a new normal No, we need to get back to normal and the legislation that we're. We're laying out there. We're dressing some of that. We're making it clear that these schools do have local control and flexibility over how they open up, and and and their schedules, and how they design things. Things about way. Parents have a lot more say and I also WANNA point out that in that thirty six pages they have this model of how schools can operate now, and and going forward and seventy percent of that is illegal, because they're not allowed to do those hybrid models that has to come again from the legislature. It can't come from the Department of Education, so she jumped the gun on. On that if they followed some of her models, they will be breaking the law. They won't get paid for it, so we are actually in our legislation, going to be addressing some of that, but the thing that I think is so important for our children is to have them be excited about getting back to school. The parents are excited about it and and the new opportunities that we have for Letting our children start learning again at school that they had attended and I think that. Anyway I'm just excited that we're moving forward that direction. I'm excited to hear that you all getting vowed because I spoke to a parent who read I think the first three or four pages of this A thirty six page document was absolutely appalled as that you know. He had to simply seriously consider whether they're going to send their child back to the government. Run School and we've heard from parents who said that they haven't felt like. They've had any opportunity to be heard on the proposal. That seems to be the motorcycle. Peran, Diet for Kathy off. A as you guys, get more involved in crafting legislation to open schools up. Are you going to or do you plan to hear from parents? Yes absolutely, and any parent can contact me through. S Allen at eight Z L. E. G. Dot, T., O. V.. That's Legis my legislative email. We're happened to zoom meeting because the capital's shut shutdown as you know because Ryan. And WE'RE GONNA. Be Talking about this and I'm going to be listening to them about what they need. So that we can make sure that this legislation that representative you and I are working on is GonNa fit the needs that they are going to. What they need. State Senator Sylvia Allen. Still on the job, but this is one of the reasons why again the legislature had no business shutting down there still so much. That needs to be done. So much work on behalf of we. The people of Arizona needs to be done. But because of Shenanigans and hijinks. They! They signed died. They shut down. And now we have parents who are freaking out over these new orders in. They're just guidelines and and the senators right? You can come out with guidelines you want. They're.
