Posses The Mindset of That like Zacchaeus

"When you look at the personal profile of this that kia's it states that this man was a chief tax collector and very rich in today's terms a chief. Tax collector is equivalent to the head of the revenue office. Usually government officials salaries are a set amount and so it is only right that they should only have a reasonable amount of wealth to make a living but despite being a government official that kills was said to be an enormously reach man. It probably means that he had sat behind an important post and embezzled some back door funds. Even these days it is possible to think that those government officials who owned much land or half palace-like houses are people who sit behind important post being bride with much money. We can't say all of them are like that but it is very difficult for a person to buy even a small house with the amount of salary earned by having worked all throughout his life as a government official yet that person owning much land and having a large house would probably mean nine times out of ten that the person sat behind an important post and received bribes coming in the back door. Whatever the case we could safely assume that zach kia's had filled himself up with the much money he had embezzled. This man named zaccheus being a chief tax collector and man means that he was a person who's worldly status was at a certain level and that he had a large amount of wealth. This that key is only weakness was his very short stature. Zaccheus had an interest in jesus and when he opportunely heard that jesus was going to enter an pass through jericho. He climbed up into a sycamore tree thinking in his heart. Let me for once. See who this. Jesus is by taking this opportunity. Climbing up into a sycamore tree. That was how he got to see. Jesus just in. From underneath the sycamore tree. Jesus saw that site and say zaccheus make haste at come down for today. I'm a stay at your house luke. Chapter nineteen verse by hearing those words zaccheus quickly came down brought jesus to his house and provided a meal as he did so as surprising. Change came about in his heart. Regarding this the bible tells us the following then zakia stood and said to the lord look law art. I give half of my goods to the poor. And if i have taken anything from anyone by false accusation i restore fourfold luke chapter nineteen verse eight after receiving. Jesus that kia's who was a corrupt government official experienced such a surprising change. What happened to zach keys. How did this that kia's react. When he was told by jesus to come down from the sycamore tree. Following jesus words. He came down quickly from the sycamore tree. And a change occurred in his heart as he received. Jesus but what do the scripture passages mean dear fellow believers if you take a look at chapter nineteen verse. Ten it said for the son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. The lord came to seek and to say those who were lost in other words today. Scripture passage is telling us that jesus came to this earth to seek people who are like this that keys and save them when we look at zakia us. We can see that. He had strengths and weaknesses such as being a chief tax collector rich and short in stature however regardless of such humanly things. It is clear that kia's harked with headed toward jesus

Corporate Buyers Remorse: Victorias Secrets Sale Falls Through

"From wondering. I'm David Brown and this business. Wars daily on this Monday may eleventh. Victoria's secret is starting to look like one of those. Oh things around the house that you can't seem to sell and maybe you can't even give it away in February L. Brands. Victoria's secret's parent company. Agreed to sell a majority of the lingerie brand to a private equity firm for just over half a billion dollars. The deal with Sycamore partners appear to be a last ditch effort to keep Victoria secret alive. Not only has the brand been perceived to be out of touch with today's body positive customers but it has also been buffeted by scandal notably L. Brand CEO Les Wexner had been associated with Jeffrey Epstein. The alleged sex trafficker who died in his prison cell last year. In addition the New York Times published an expose about. Victoria's secret in February. The investigation turned up. Detailed sexual harassment and hostile workplace claims by employees and models claims that L. Brands didn't deny between the scandals and years of marketing misteps. It was as if the once glittering Victoria's secret couldn't get out of its own way though still selling plenty of merchandise. The brand lost more than six hundred million dollars last year. As Victoria's secret star was falling it sibling brand. Bath and body works was soaring. But Victoria's secrets problems. Were a drag on bath and body works and that damaged their parent company. L. Brand stock price fell more than half in the twelve months. The Wall Street Journal reported. So the deal was sycamore. Seemed like a solution to L. Brands. Difficulties Sycamore would take. Victoria's secret private but leave bath and body works. In the hands of L. Brands L. Brands could then pour more resources into the soap and candle retailer whose profits were bubbling along CEO. Wexner who is eighty two years old planned to step down from his post when the deal closed but last week the deal fell apart in late. April Sycamore Partner Sued L. Brand saying that Victoria secret hadn't kept up. Its end of the bargain among other things. Sycamore criticized L. Brands for closing. Virtually all of its sixteen hundred brick and mortar. Victoria's secret and pink stores globally failing to pay April rant and furloughing most of its employees during corona virus. Lockout as a result. Sycamore said the private equity firm should be allowed to back out of the deal. Some analysts defended L. BRANDS. Actions since closures were either prudent or mandated by state and local governments retail dives. Daphne Jalan reported others however said L. Brands should have consulted. More closely with Sycamore. L. Brands fought back. They countersued saying that. Sycamore suit appeared to be an apparent case of buyer's remorse according to Jalan they remarked on the irony. That other retailers already owned by Sycamore also closed their doors finally L. Brands accused Sycamore of simply trying to negotiate a lower purchase price. For Victoria's secret L. brands appear to be ready for a fight but last Monday the two companies said the deal was off. L. Brand said it didn't WANNA spend time and money in court trying to force a partnership. Sycamore walked away unscathed which leaves L. Brands in a precarious position. Some analysts are speculating that the company will put Victoria secret up for

The Saga Ends: Victorias Secret Sells, CEO Les Wexner Steps Down

"Secret. Just can't stay out of the news last Thursday after many months of turbulence L. Brands CEO Les Wexner announced that he's stepping down. Victoria's secret wants the brand that dominated women's lingerie like no other is going private. Both announcements smarter dramatic turning point in the company's fortunes and in the way retailers portray and market to women L. Brands is selling fifty five percent of Victoria. Secret to private equity firm Sycamore partners. Four or five hundred twenty. Five million dollars. Sycamore specializes in purchasing distressed properties and apt description. Victoria's secret wexner who is eighty. Two years old will become chairman emeritus of L. Brands which remains publicly held L. Brands and Les Wexner have been buffeted by a series of scandals over the last couple of years most notably wexner close association with Jeffrey Epstein. Which came to light last summer? Epstein? The accused child sex trafficker who died in prison had been wexner financial advisor. Wexner has denied knowing about Epstein's sex trafficking activities and says he distanced himself from Epstein years ago regardless that close association hurt L. Brands. At a time. When Victoria's secret was already under duress it? Sales have been falling for several years as the METOO era caught up with women's fashion third love and other more modern lingerie brand. Espoused inclusivity over. Victoria's secrets risque sexiness. More and more critics complain. It's insulting an outmoded then early this month. The New York Times published an investigation of L. Brands that depicted a culture of misogyny and sexual harassment. It seemed that L. Brands was on. Its Way to a hard crash observers. Warned that Victoria's secret would be hard to sell indeed selling fifty five percent. Five hundred twenty. Five million dollars indicates the brand is valued at only a little over a billion dollars in its last fiscal year. However though losing money Victoria secret had sales of more than seven billion dollars. The Wall Street Journal says that Billion Dollar Valuation marks a sharp fall. For the brand. The Victoria's secret sale leaves L. Brands with only one single but profitable brand. That's bath and body works the presumption is that without the drag of Victoria's secret L. Brands can continue to grow the personal care chain. The same may not be at all true. For Victoria's secret sycamore partners under the leadership of secret of cheap stefan. Caluzzi IS KNOWN FOR FINANCING. It's purchases through debt and then stripping and selling off their assets. According to the Wall Street Journal the Journal reported at Sycamore has made a fortune by firing employees and otherwise cutting costs at retailers from Talbot to nine West End Klein sending many workers to the unemployment line. Overworking the ones left behind. According to the Motley Fool Sycamore partners closed most of nine west stores causing it to go bankrupt L. brands losses or third loves gains its founder and CEO. Heidi Zach as been public about her antipathy. Toward Victoria's secret third love is reportedly looking to take advantage of the moment as an opportunity to grow quickly.

Adam Scott Emerges From Crowded Field to Win Genesis Open

"Adam Scott doesn't seem like he's won like five genesis before they shouldn't. You shouldn't have already been a real winner. It at Riviera explained the whole real winner. Thirty six hole win which I don't remember honestly two thousand five I can't claim to and then they went out and played some sort of modified playoff. Yeah only Chad Campbell. I guess and check Campbell. So did he get the full money for that? He got money and I think you got the trophy. I just don't think he got the official win. Okay it was. It was the Dustin Johnson Pebble Beach Title Okay. the second whole array of this week played barely over par by the way which is maybe a sign of the ball. My finally go too far. We'll we'll talk a little distance on the back end we Obviously broke down the. Usda Distance Report on last week's episode with K v V. But I WANNA get some random thoughts. I think you're chatting before we started here. Tc About Adam. Scott being you know maybe the wilderness that kind of the narrative that was being pushed was you know maybe a bit bit too far. Yeah he's been in the top fifty in the world. Since two thousand he had two solo seconds last year formers and memorial and then won the Ozzy. Pga At the end of the year there. didn't have a great twenty eighteen but solo third at the PGA Championship. I am shocked to see him putting as well as he is Is it don't know if there's anything to it that he put these are the hardest. Greens on tour to PUTT statistically this in pebble and he puts them really well. That's a sign of like nothing matters on these Greens. I don't I don't know what it means but I'm sure that I'm sure you probably feels like nobody's making butts out. Here actually might have an advantage out here. Just frees him up Randy Wise Rev week one of your favorites you. You've talked about more than I've heard you talk about any other golf course. I think it's It's such a nice course I think it starts with the course You know some iconic holes. I mind is Probably number ten which I know we can get into a little bit Eighteen you know everybody can kind of picture that uphill dogleg right with the clubhouse up there. I think you know for me. It's just Just seems to produce such a good tournament year after year after year And I don't think that's an accident when we're talking about the golf course. It's the end of the West Coast swing. I think there's a bit of sadness or melancholy that you know. My favorite part of the years is coming to an end and honestly you know. Mickelson always played well out there so that doesn't hurt But yeah that's I I don't know I think it's just the the whole. Go Sycamore. Trees I I it just really looks good on TV. And I think that for me. That's where it starts with Y enjoy the week so well similar to Augusta in in some way it's always creates a lot of drama in that guy's in groups ahead had these little stretch is a whole where you can get it like ten eleven. You know you've made that turn you. There's a couple of gettable holes and guys can make birdies get up close to that lead and but the leaders back there haven't played the easy holes yet so it kind of creates this ton of excitement and you can't really tell who's in the lead like you can see who's most under par but knowing that there's so many half par holes coming in you don't really know who's some king win this legit. If he stepped up and birdied eighteen he got in at ten Adam. Scott looked like he was wavering. There for a little bit But he ended up surviving. I just like Augusta. I think. That's a great comparison in that. Not only can guys you know. Go Low all of a sudden inclined back into it but there's you know there's some car crashes out there can't get away with any exactly so just that volatility to develop Is it just creates a lot of excitement and captures your attention watching rory get flustered today and just like not be able to find it was. I mean it's jarring I mean the guy's been total control was golf ball for Shelton Neil of course ACCUA For I don't know ten months. At least maybe more than that and just to see him have absolutely nothing. Today was just it. Was it hearken back to win? Almost when Randy was calling for him to be dead before he had officially died. But yeah that's what reveal. Do demand if you don't have it. You're Gone Russell. Henley you'RE GONNA bud. Is Fear Driving Sales Of Monsanto's Dicamba-Proof Soybeans?

"Support for this NPR podcast and the following message. Come from Yahoo finance live. Are you ready for relevant? Financial news streaming anywhere without cable or a subscription. Tune into Yahoo. Finance live for eight hours of live market coverage. They're ready. Are you when a product is successful? Usually it's because people really like it. Right. But some farmers say they are buying a popular new kind of soybean seed, partly out of fear that if they don't they won't have a crop next year, the soybean is resistant to herbicides dyke Cambe and farmers say that the soybeans are driving other seeds out of the market. Now farmers are taking Monsanto to court claiming this is an antitrust violation and pears, Dan, Charles has the story the biggest new technology on midwestern farms. These days is a new family of soybean seeds the seeds go by the trade name extend their worth an estimated billion dollars a year to the company that sells them Monsanto now owned by. Bayer and Dennis Wentworth in central Illinois is. Totally on board. One hundred percent of the soybeans that we plant are extend soybeans these news. Soybeans have been genetically tweaked. So they don't die when you spray them with a herbicide called die Cambe now when worth can spray this weedkiller right over his fields of Cambe, tolerant plants it controls the week. It kills a week. That's bottom line. Doesn't doesn't affect the crop in just three years? These new varieties of taken over sixty to seventy five percent of the American soybean market. Farmers say they've made the switch because die cameras better at killing the weeds, some farmers also. Bayer say the new seeds produce a bigger harvest. But a lot of farmers say there's also a third reason for Randy Brazzale in southeastern Missouri. It was the only reason I just hit go along with the Cam. But program whether I like it or not Brazzale already had his seeds ordered for next year. Not the new die tolerance. Soybeans. He was going to use other weedkillers, but then in mid December. He got a phone call. I had a neighbor a friend. And who calls me, and he says I am going to have to go dot Gamba. And that changed Brazil's plans completely because the has this well problem, it's sometimes blows away after you spray it across property lines into neighboring fields. Lots of people have tried to stop this chemical companies have reformulated the product government regulators of restricted how and where farmers can spray it. They put these rules on the product label and still die. Cam bef- Hume's have curled up the leaves of sycamore trees and millions of acres of traditional Siberians across the midwest and the mid south so brattle said can't risk it happening to me. He cancelled his entire seed order bought the new Di Cambio, tolerant soybeans instead, then I have to get on the phone and call every other neighbor and say, listen, I did not want to do this. But I am gonna be forced grow dot Cambe. Will then that forces all those neighbor to grow deck in by will then they have to call older neighbors. And eventually what you have is a monopoly. Among the losers in this situation are seed companies that are selling competing products like rob Seco in elk horn, Nebraska. Rob Robinson is the CEO. We don't believe in extent. We think is too complicated is very difficult to meet the requirements on the label, and it causes too many issues with neighbors like fights over damaged crops. Robinson says he's lost customers over this. Most of them. He says wanna buy extend soybeans at least partly to protect their crops from harm because their neighbors are spraying die Cambe. He says it's part of the sales pitch for these new seeds at least on a local basis or being sold with this idea. So it's actively part of the sales processes prevent wait. What what do you mean? Exactly. You mean people selling extend are actually using this as a selling. Absolutely, yes. Seed companies will remind farmers if you plant extent soybeans you won't see any damage from Canada. You won't have that conflict with your neighbor. Now, how far that goes up the management chain it within Monsanto and now bear. I can't tell you. But I know locally that it that's the message several law firms now have filed a lawsuit on behalf of farmers arguing that Monsanto violated antitrust law by selling Cambe, tolerant seeds, the lawsuit claims that the company understood that the risk of drifting dot com, but could drive competitors out of the market Baier has asked the court to dismiss that lawsuit decision as pending. Bayer declined NPR's request for an interview about this issue in its public statements. The company insists that if cameras used properly according to all the rules. It won't cause any harm to neighbors. It says farmers are buying extend seeds solely because they offer better week control and higher yields. It also points out that reports of Di Cambe damage were down sharply last year after the company and other groups held hundreds of training sessions for farmers. The company's critics though say fewer crops are getting damaged in part. Because so many farmers have decided to buy Bayer's product crops that Cambe can't harm, Dan. Charles NPR news. "There's a lot of people in the industry that taught classes, and then you also got to venture out to quite a few different breweries, and and meet everybody beyond scenes and from that point. I was like I need to get into this industry. It was everybody. Welcome you with open arms, and it was awesome. So. Jumped to twenty sixteen of twenty sixteen found out for your house was going to be losing their head brewer and callous of them. Yeah. He wanted to lose a brew. He wanted to pursue other other thing went off to school things there. And then So Chris actually knew him pretty well just from come into the forty lunch breaks. She worked on sycamore. Kinda got me an interview I've met up with JD Heinrich, and he's the owner. Yeah. Okay. We hit it off got along. We well. We've been kind of had that same mindset. Same kind of mechanical mindset. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's it's been great ever since. So is that engineering background helped you because I understand that you had to move some of the brewing equipment, obviously had Dubroux at the other location. We do not know don't. Okay. So you moved it from sycamore to hear that engineering background help. You do any of the installation here a little bit. I mean, JD JD very very handy people. So we were able to take everything apart, and then kind of put it back together in this pretty much. Absolutely. It was wasn't too difficult number the pots. We didn't do that. John what was wrong with the previous site the dealership. So our biggest thing there's nothing wrong with the site. We love that site. It was we wanted to get into some distribution. And the owner wanted to own the building we didn't own building release it paid a pretty good premium for that spot. So they bought purchased a building downtown sycamore. So the restaurant downtown sycamore they purchase that. We were hoping to there. It's just too time space, and it just didn't work out. So we kind of branched out. We're looking around the area to Cal Pingree elegant kind of looking around and pretty much settled onto Cal. I was all up for it being an you Alon then and I love to Cal. It's a great great city. And so there really wasn't anything wrong with the old spot. It was more. Just we we were ready to expand. We kept getting people all the time. Hey, when can working like we wanted in stores you wanted different bars? So that was the biggest thing and the site the building wasn't large enough to accommodate what you thought you would need not really now. Okay. And you hear now in DeKalb oversee it's university down all the Illinois. And is that is that a bonus because signals five miles away also not too. So if you're a student you probably don't want to drive. Too far. If you do drive a tool so here, you're kind of relying on them walking in you not that far from the university. Does that help with your the punt zoo come in? Absolutely. I mean, we're probably two minute drive. You can there's a husky bus line that stops right off back.
