Part 2 :Dr.Allday, Ed De Rosa, Nick Zito

"Steve. And becoming interviews this is. Steve. We're back and I when I when I went looking for for Chelsea's. Twitter address. And and I typed in danner. The funniest thing is that The first thing that popped up was a listing of of one of our shows. From. Late last year of all things and it was with Doug. Doug Danner and I had forgotten this but You know most often we would get doug on. I think with the With freethinking. Several you know conversations. During his career, but it was I reached out to him about. The the ten year old. That made. Prom theme that was making a hundred and ninth career start. Late last year December nineteenth. It was last time Doug was on. Pretty funny and then curiously. I I don't even know why it's okay. It's not I was GONNA. Say it doesn't make sense timing. Wise. But here's a picture of Tony on one of our courses on unread board king when he broke his maiden pretty funny anyway. Great to get. To get Kelsey down around, I had tried her a few times and it might be that I. Had A number? That wasn't? That wasn't right. So maybe that's why because she certainly was fun and and seem quite Quite willing. So. She's take. She's she's nicely positioned With. With these kinds, horses that that horse that I mentioned. that monorail that. That's too bad i. mean that's Nice for. Him. But that was a debut winner. And you certainly. Out of way that you remember off the tracks she was. She was a serious or she won. The Coaching Club or Something that you win the Alabama. That they're said, said good morning. Our. Good I'm good I'm trying. They'll complaints off the tracks when after look her up over to write her down because she I remember her it's really not that. I just a few years ago. This must be her first foal. She herself was by Caroline. So we'll. Go back and find turn. She if I'm not mistaken she started. She started with somebody. In Florida I think and then got and then. Transferred I can't remember. Off The tracks. All right. We'll check back on that said I. I'm glad we can convene because. This hatful. Of Stallion. maneuvers since we talked last Wednesday. And then within you know within forty eight hours, there was significant story so that that started a crop Laya band will move from new. York to Kentucky Caravaggio will take up residence at Ashford and daredevil coming home and then to all off this Edina. Partnership deal with Hill Lyndale quite notable. Go Sapper. Coming to Dale along with Muccio Macho man and point eventually This was quite a week. Activity. Yeah I your thoughts I mean considering. Considering. There's so many there's so many of the story lives you and I feature in conversation regularly including the export of stallions, shovel stallions, and then regional market stallions and really. All. These plots were were covered with the web. Yes, very much talk about let's start the which start whichever one you want. To Ban the case where you have regional horse. and got obviously simply ravishing grade one winner. Once you get. You know a great one winner in your service crop two year olds. By the right type of sire uncle Mo.. We've got NYQUIST and out work as well. Good looking horse look second uncle mount to. you know. That's when the frenzy starts In in Kentucky and You know I kind of knew that the this is taking place because they had A. Sealed bid auction been source. About About two weeks ago. And Obviously Windstar won. The prize. and. So he's coming here and going to be standing for twenty five thousand dollars. meanwhile, we had lost Geared up will who made. Turkeys Jockey Club, but the Turkey Jockey Club A now has approach lanes then about standing the horse for them. So you've got a very unusual situation. Turkish Jockey Club. Owning. The horses and standing in back in America again, capitalize on. His popularity with you know, have you seen the cooks winner in? Multiple G one winner craft winner in Switz- Guy Pussy Kentucky oaks winner, and she. The Devil. So that's an unusual move to come back but kind of expected as well. The rumors. Yeah. The rumors have been had. You know the right even even well before the. Even before the Kentucky Oaks I mean the the what was going on with with skydiver had people, and then there had been some other minor winners that were bubbling to the surface and do. We hear these rumors but a lot of times it ends up being. You know just just rumors and and it doesn't come to fruition like this. And you know it's interesting. It's GonNa be the Turkish Jockey club Spanish. Because they've been. Trying to. You. Know there was interest in horse and they put a price on a horse and nobody. Was Willing To. Bite on that price. which was Rumored to be ten million. So they decided to stand the horse. Themselves Here. So you know the thing or is here. to twenty five dollars you know they're they. They have a chance to actually. Make all the money back on what they spent on the Horse. In the first place plus up. So You know it's a, it's a booth to capitalize on that and. He never know how what is future's really going to be like here. Know. You're to. I demand? Wayne. They'll probably take my back to. Interesting Because it's gotta be it. To Re rebooted. Boot. Horses. Stallion career. You know even with this kind of notoriety. GotTa be a little. It's got to be a little tricky. It's daunting and it's very simple These two big oysters are from his first crop. Extend to be the best. I down because they tend to get the best mares at first crop. So what are you going to have to do? Now withstand second, third and fourth crump mayors. Be Done. Fantastic meaning we're going to have to you know have production from. Lower Quality Mares over the next few years which always the big bugaboo for horses you know this applies away Obama's well. The thing with Larry Band that he's got. It could be it could end up being terrific stallion but what he got as a backup in he's got so many New York breads, he can keep it black type. Yeah Yeah you can keep his black cat going with restricted grades in New York right. So that's you know that's always a UH. Kind of good way keep horses name. In spotlight my Those are certainly really interesting development the third one actually I. I. I actually called John t core this weekend just to make sure whether. I originally miss the original notification that he was. Moving. Goes Zapper that is but the other think Sunday. And the. you know as John over the weekend about it. Yeah. Two big move for John. John now has. Type Ramallah's. Trying to set up He's I've got. Curling he's got king storing that goes up terrific stallion and and. Really emerging good mare side you know boomer sire if justify. So. you know it's a it's a great each for John Moving to. Off. And Filling in some spots on the order like A. Team. You got your young prospect. McCain's music starring show. Eventual. Stardom. He got. He got. Ten therapy to broaden from. Florida doubt. you know. A lot of younger horses still not. With runners yet and By throwing This horse at a price point you've got midnight lute him really proven or something see. you know he's really rushing out. It's down. boxster with a mix of. Free agent. And and you know well, spotted Non drafted free. Agent. Violence has come out big frame now again that tweet. you know g one winners this year Leading. You know his contemporaries and so. Big Move for, Lyndale. A couple of a couple of notes within the within the D. L. I mean obviously go sapper and we're GonNa talk to John Probably next week and get some of the perspective from him. But I I. Feel like to me the. The sleeper in this go sappers a known quantity and and Muccio Macho man. Seems to. Seems to still be kind of feeling his way to me. The important. Hidden Gem in here is point of entry. And and you know the the Dinah former the importance of diner former. You know to me can't be. Under under sold. The. There will be steady. Steady successes. That point of entry, and in fact, he you know he had a nice seller yesterday one here point of entry and the diner former line to me is is is too. There's too much. Success and there's too many positives associated with that. You know with with the top at bottom here I mean you got the Phipps. Strength and everything that comes with it I just I. I would think that point of entry Has Got you know when you look at when you look? At Trades in in baseball and and you know there's that there's that throw in that Try It. For him because. You know you never know. You never know flying You know what? They what they could put up these. You've seen it with temple city at spendthrift. You you've seen. The sources shown some life. With you know already it's just a matter of. The diner formers and you know Donald Former by the way down, it started off really cheap to. Five thousand dollars went up. To one hundred and fifty dollars. you know He. WAS A. Scandalous down problem that he's running to. During. His tenure what he ran into woods, you know a preponderance of dirt. And sprints which goes against his type. but to your point, you know with more turf him and. Seems like. They're more distance races now, kind of shift into. Two point eventually you know. We have you know kittens story came up during the era the. Synthetics. which he really capitalized on. lemurs. Emergence of TURF. And you know hopefully John. The same thing I like about him and he's he's never afraid to take chances. and. That's why took a whole took always like French. As. Well, you know, of course that was Mile and a quarter to a mile and a half type and. You don't he's still waiting on him but that was expected that his is my you know Kirby better the because the crops age so. He's got himself covered with you know lots of different types in my key point at this kind of Sonian in. Who knows what might happen You know she's commercially. Some of these sources do get hammered. Unfortunately but I'd love to see that line. A you know take up in fact. Fifty years one of the. of the Diner Palmerston studies full. verners yet. But in Canada that's Danish down form. So you know there's still you know And he studied Canada where the environment really fit with terminal weather. So you know that's that's let's say. It's another son that you know probably probably the last. give it a shot. yesterday hip sixty, hundred and sixty, thousand, and just looking. To See. Let me. Let me see how many. How many there's another one too. There's another four. Another four to sally yet or actually. Take that back. Oh, no because I type in point of and. In the search bar and it gives you gave you a few other. Names that have to be. Yeah that had. Had the same letters. It's pretty funny but there's one to There's there's just two more that are going to sell yet but I'm a fan and I'm interested and you know John John is obviously not he's not shy about the you know the turf Potential because. He's got Flintshire and. Get. Well, you know so. He knows what to do with with those types. You know we should the one we skipped over. As. Part of this conversation Caravaggio said, and here's a scat daddy son that It was making noise the the babies that had made their way you know to these shores and. I it did seem like there was a buzz and sure enough Here's Ashford coolmore trying to capitalize on it and I can. A bringing scat daddy home. And you know they're such a sophisticated. Organization knowing how to maximize stallion knowing. That you know. First. Cropper. yearling year. So be entering his fourth year Stud. You are up. So why not try to? Repackage and bring him here. So he's kind of new here even though it's address courtship nuts done. They've done you know the Broadway. back that have started over there I and. And Continued with them here giant's Causeway Declaration of war. you know. It's it's it's constantly. Trying to repackage something during these tough years at Stud so What would have been his worst? Near. Europe, which is fourteen. They can bring him here and you know rejuvenate market here they've seen how terrifically popular. The other t scat daddy have been. That's Mendelssohn. and. Justify both of whom got over two hundred, fifty mares in their first year at Stud. So, now What they do is they introduce another scat daddy here but one really. Built almost the American marketplace's. Especially Sprint they're. Out of a holy bull man. Plays here. The Cook Great Good Looking Horse and now you got another scat daddy for them here you know. It can take overflow marriage and Mares zone. Right. And because he's kind of New Year. That stigma that fourth year kind of Wayne. Bits again? And so. It could just brilliant plan all around. And You know I think he's GonNa end up being soon. We probably well. Now and just just pulling up there their page. And There is already on the didn't take long for him to make to make the website and. Air. Force Blue American Pharaoh Caravaggio Classic Empire Competitive Edge Cupid Eco town. My will be there. For them to yes. Yes. Eco Town. When he? I didn't Miss I. You. I'm not sure if he's no Nashville we'll know tomorrow but I know Nashville was entered. In the sprint for the Asmussen Barn Eco town, I forgot to I forgot inquire about catoon if he was running justified looking at lucky maximum-security Mendelssohn motown who is already seemingly Getting. Some buzz. Munnings Joke Tale, the cat and uncle Mo So it's a pretty maximum security of course, is headed there too. Yeah maximum security is that are there? And the big mover they're. Really big price. In terms of going up this year. Where uncle bulk at the Ashford, going to one, seventy, five and intimacy of going to take twenty five. At Spencer but you know the some of the big guns. Curling, of course, held steady at one, seventy five, but you've had. warfront dropping to one fifty. Happened at. Twenty fifty medallion Diarra one fifty. the some that the big guns dropping. At the top of the market And of course it. Seems like a lot of horses coming to study as well. So. It's going to be really. Interesting he you know the the demand that This year bring contest twenty one you know with with all the economic woes and Whatnot. Keeneland September down twenty percent average The tell will be what the demand is for Broodmares. At keeneland. particularly. In has you know keeps you now. To really nice top poisons but. That kind of look. Really Give us a sense of You know what the demand situation will be. For. Some of these horses next year keep in mind Close of two, thousand and twenty. those are widely down the offered at keeneland November dog the first colts. They'll that will be sold that we'll have this mark on them, which is that day when they go to stunned. Will be limited to one, hundred, forty mayors. All these other words were seen going to start right now. You know they can still try to maximize many mares they can get to. The all you had. That have been appearing. GDN. Where you know farms are actually. Bragging about how many marriage? Stallions covered audible to eighteen. Could you saw one today Would it? Out Work Three hundred nineteen folds or something like that. The ground So you know The number of the number of married He's going to play an important role eventually in the price of. Is What people could pay for founding prospect now. Knowing that they can breathe many as they can get to it versus what you're going to have to pay for potential stallion prospects in the future knowing that they're locked in hundred forty. Certainly, you know it's something to keep an eye on. Well. Regarding regarding Caravaggio at at Ashford and everything going on there and. Charlie Charlie O'Connor will will help you and At for those, you know even though there's not going to be that many people going toward Lexington Next week. We after for raiders got I'm going to put a plug in for for Charlie's. Bourbon has that. Amazon Bourbon Bar. Chart me for that was the breeder curve? Is You? I didn't know. Yeah. This is a of love. Yeah. That I didn't realize that. Charlie's terrific and visit the ends in. Bourbon. Bar, which is a hidden gem. Korea INVER sales. GETS A. When you got childhood finds than his. You know it's it's. Obviously the public spot anyone go. To real small bar beautifully appointed, you know with all the Bourbon trail. and. Whatnot. But what's really interesting? When say you know anyone your listeners anybody who goes in? What would you get a chance to do? Once you do go and he? You know you're going to meet people like Charlie you gotta be you know people like Cool more captain. Paul Shanahan you know all. The principles of the Komo Organization. You know you could turn around and Bump. into. Batman ended up. Chatting, with them too. So it's It's it's it's an interesting spot. You could end up, you could end up with the season you. If if you play your cards right if You spend enough they should. That's what they should do. They should have. They should have a loyalty program where. If you if you if you buy I don't know if you have one hundred. One hundred tipples you. Get half off of a season. I love it I'm glad I brought it up I. I've been meaning to do that and because we got that we've got. Our our our church, Philly that you. Recommend. Read the MOTOWN and. Right the right sire lines the I mean that's the ascending sideline. You know who? WHO's to say motown doesn't become another Nyquist store or allow Dan you know one out work. They I can see you don't know if you've noticed on the they've been advertising to motown's been. Seems to be catching a wave and he's been featured the with Tony detro-, doing some voice overs On the America's Day at the races shows. So they're they're committed to him. Docomo's are just incredibly popular right now because so rare for Wednesday down. On Komo who had a massive year to go to one, seventy five to also had three sons. Like. That you know unofficial scrap list You know quite. Quite a scene and one of the Nyquist you know he's got to grade one winners are ready. So That's phenomenal feat. It's interesting and and you know. That's what has made. We discussed last week. That's what you know that. Kind of of story line and that over rap that's what has made this Mcclain's music emergence So notable you know that. Younger Sire even than Than uncle Mo and he's GonNa have you know Already two sons that and a third son that are going to end up staying. It's crazy i. mean it it it. That you know that that the I opener. So. It it it's been. It's been a fascinating. I mean, aside from the sales stuff. Everything that's been going on is just been fascinating with with you know with. The. These three four. Sets of. Of Stallion. Changes and relocations etc.. I. Said I. It's hard. It's Under the conditions. That we're. Dealing with. It's hard not to take the take this kind of thing as. As encouraging I mean. The farms aren't they're not gonNA make these kinds of commitments. Obviously. You know are continuing to be confident about about things. Yeah. I mean you know it's Your. Team failed. There you know. They'd be down a little. Or against team they were down twenty percent but you know people are still invested in this game and. The people have divide flips before they survived the great. Recession. You know You're always GONNA have. Big Economic. Downturns. And people survive things might get reshuffled the bit and. You know What not but so far The way the the market is You know people were still breathing Morse's Yup. You know and and I think also people. When you're in this when you're in this business. On that side. E You you know you look to the horizon. attracted. It's not you know you can't be you can't be tunnel visioned. you know you're you're. Looking You know down the road and and you you that that that part is really true because I can't point. We have a client that Actually looking to win the remember shale to increase at nine. Because potentially going to be a buyer's market. So Y, you may have some people that you know can't hold on. So you've got new right with other people that are in a position to say you know what this the time to expand. And that's you know those are those are also Factors that should be you know look that because you never know Yacky what's going to happen but anecdotally, I can tell you that I know several people that are actually bullish on buying because of. A perceived value. We talked about that in in. Two Thousand and eight the. Yeah. I mean the fact that that this you know that. I don't want to call them opportunists, I. You know people people that that understand the cycles You know saw it as a chance to go to build their operation and and this has gone on. This is not a new phenomenon obviously This is this has been true for generations at that. You know the. The been flow and? You know we also had. We also had Incursions from various international. Entities whether it was the Japanese point and and British interests and you know that that. This has been going on forever and. You GotTa have the wherewithal I mean obviously the the people who are. Victims in this and and said you and I. You and I very frequently. Reference. The overall. Societal themes. and. It's very true here to the most vulnerable and the. Those that I don't want to call them hobbyists per se but you know the smallish. Backyard breeders and those that you know have a handful of of mayors and and you know. It's not maybe not their full time business or you know it augment. Income or how can however those people? They can suffer I mean if they're not if you're not capitalized and and you don't have the wherewithal to withstand, you know these you know these vagaries. Those are the people that are going to are going to suffer or or are going to leave the business. But that doesn't mean that they're mayors aren't going to be absorbed into you know other operations. And That's a really good point also inept flow than. You had in the eighties of very high participation level. Crops you know with Iraq decade, it's basically been between eighteen and twenty thousand folks per year You know dismay dropping Further. But what? I've seen. Is that as. A those people you just referenced. Leave. and this is another societal analogy. The people whip the capitol. Have increased their stake in the game. So essentially what you have. Are. People at the year people with the means controlling a greater portion of the Pie? whereas. Before you know you may have had had. You know. More individual involvement. You know it's it's sort of the mom and pop bookstore. appeared the chain comes in. and. So you do have. A greater. Number of. capitalized entities. That are participating in the game. We we've talked about this with even with erling buying. You know you have partnerships now. Of many big players on the same more. So it's it's that type of thing that's happened. You've. Got More people at the top owning more of the Pie. and that's been the case over the decade where it's the stabilized say focuses between eighteen and twenty or whatever it is. But the composition of ownership. Owning that group is a smaller number then you know prior kinds. it's better for the game obviously if you can have work participation but again. It's just the trend of consolidation that we've seen throughout society. RACING RACING IS A. Racing reflection or microcosm of we're at. Society, there's there's there's not too much. Too, much we. Can't connect. From from one to the other said it's yeah. Avoid I'll I'll avoid any other suggests or? Possibly you know guys. I like you that are participating. That that that's a great part of the game. Like you GotTa. Mayor Bleeding to motown. you know. Hopefully you know. Hopefully, we get more people you know perhaps perhaps. The the buying opportunities roar encourage even smart guy come into it. Attractive options right now. Well, and and there's There's a conversation to be had and frankly our our. listenership. Is As. You know aside from the participants that are already participating. you know the stakeholders. There's To me. The next. That next wave if it is going to if it is gonNA. Come. It, should come from the series horse players. and. There's real potential here because. The, there's A. There's already I mean look at in fact, I'll go back I brought up Marshal Graham and Klay Sanders earlier with ten strike and they started as. A claiming outfit and you know. Racing for fun and you know like anybody you, you know you, you keep trying to upgrade your approach and and your stock. then. You know you start buying young horses. Then you keep a few you know mayors that you can't bear to part with because they campaigned successfully for you as as a stable and next thing you know you're breathing and then you're then you're creating own breads that the the next generation well that. That same potential is out there for you know countless. Serious, horse players who could easily you know if they mentally made a commitment to peel off I, don't know fifteen percent of their of their bankroll you know. Every. So often. Every time, there's a nice hit in appeal off a chunk and and start a fund and the same way that some of you are putting together a pick five consortium and playing as a group do the same thing and and. Try Try this, I mean look at Billy Billy Kacha as with with little red feather saint thing they you know now they've got not only they breeding, but they've got pinned book operation that they've created. So there I met to I've seen a lot of guys you know they have had higher I've seen that they've done stuff like that I mean even Twitter, guys like T T P and it. These guys are gamblers, but they also tweeted about horses, day Roan. And have experienced in you know Racing So and I saw this other guy. then. Yada John. said he just bought into a year. You know it all. If. You have that desire to do it Then then you know some of these guys doing and you're you're against Marshall Van. I mean they've had some great success. And with very sharp guy, obviously. You know it all depends on the inclination is there and they're in a situation obviously financially that can do it but usually what happens is and. You're the continue your train of thought people actually who do it when the market comes down more words becomes more affordable. So It'd be interesting to see you now. Again, as market does come down whether it matter of fact, when you're our listeners here, most of Nolan tweeted the painted she was going to look for. A mirror something in the keeneland November sale. Nice. You know. So you see how you know Sometimes Times you know people you know do take those chances when when. When you the market as being a good buying opportunity I mean that's really how everything works but. To to look to to. Look for instance at at. Just one that comes to mind with with the ten strike Is that thought Matrix you know who's now a seven year old gelding has made six, hundred, sixty, seven, thousand dollars. And Was Bred. Is a Freud gelding out of on dot dot, which was a mayor that they campaigned and I think Marshall. Marshall Bread Yeah trucks than staples. That was marshals. Sort of personal stable to begin with and You know a horse, one more slide dot matrix whether you sell it for Nice money or or if you campaign it. Cleans up a lot of miscues. In other areas and and things that don't go right. I will tell people that. There's heartache that can come with this. Don't don't think that this is you know. This is any less. Yeah. Any less frustrating than being an owner because it's not I it's maybe more frustrating because in some cases you wait and you wait and you wait and you may end up, you know with nothing whether you were going to sell or you know the horse gets hurt. In training, you're going to sell a two year old in training or you're in a campaign. yearling that. You know just the. The best thing there there is there is the flip side of this and I have to I want to caution people, Aaron, you Goethe who is as savvy is anybody that's involved in in the game. Aaron. Errands got the greatest line of course, strikes Of family and Aaron says, I believe in God I, just don't want him picking out my bloodstock. Which is why he doesn't read. And I love that line because it's like. It doesn't matter how fancy you you can. You don't necessarily know you're not necessarily going to get but it you know and then we've lost you know we've lost babies three babies in that you know. That full sleep. During comes in I. Hope you're. Very, very tough. So Zip this was fabulous I I WANNA get dr all day in But we covered a ton between ellendale exciting partnership with Edina we'll hear from John Secure. That and then daredevil lay abandoned and Caravaggio. So. We'll talk next week then well, you gotTa, you gotta put your pedigree work to the you know you got you got fourteen breeders, Cup races. So this is this is your time to shine next week. You know boy. And sydell also shine helping you pick out does. Med. But it doesn't. Just saying that doesn't. Answer all the questions just Oh, it's overreach. That's That's a simplistic. View of things. So. Casey reaching for. For Steve, and he'll tell you what you need to know. Ed Rose is GONNA join us to a little bit. And we'll start to We'll start to. Talk. About the approach I want. I, want to spend time before the fields are completely assembled. The want to spend some time talking about you know organizing yourself and how to Bet Breeders Cup Dr Steven alday joins us. Horse Health today brought to you by Luba and Reborn Steve Good Morning. Steve. We reach as we've reached out to you so many times in the past. Let, you. Pine. This Beta. Method zone. Therapeutic and non how it's. How it's Signal I can't hear what you're saying. All right. There's some. There's some reverberations near to Casey. Wanted you. Want to. Get Steve Back, yeah give him another call that was weird I could I could hear myself. So we'll get I could tell something was. Steve's phone. If there's one. If there's one regular over the years. And a lot of times you know he's out, you know he might be in a barn he might be in a field. So. There are times when I. When I? Can understand that expect but there does seem that. When we have audio. Issues a lot of times it's sits with him. Let's try to get maybe. Stave. One second. Got Him back in the we lost him again. It must be must he you know he's gotten? No He's in. What we're seeing on. SISSONVILLE. Simpson I think. When if he's out if he's at his place. In the countryside. But he could be anywhere. You'd never know. That's Calling Dr? All Day paging Dr Alda. Wait. There's no reason to look repeat. Second time and then a third time. To him actually while we while we wait am I could give you the. Result yesterday from. From. Finger Lakes and you know even though even though thin white Duke. Started poorly I thought he was vulnerable anyway but they had a terrible start. He walked out of the gate and then came running late but still got beat by half a dozen blue gator for the why coughs and Mike Maker. To for to. I think we'll try again save their. Yeah. A little better, but you still pretty muffled. Son of a gun. All right. I'll make I'll just hand it off to you. Talk. About. A product like Beta medicine. And using. Therapeutic. Anti inflammatories. Two weeks out. The mechanics of of what? The Vet and the trainer deals with in a case like we're seeing with. Geen. Well you know I mean the. Apparently. They followed the the regulations you know according to you know. What's has been released and You know obviously they they. This system for Kentucky for New York around places and The problem. Steve. Is that you know when you when you see these new situations like this you know you're gonna you're gonNA. Have Hiccups you can have. You know the they will come up with these minute amounts of Kara. Basically didn't have lots. You say white. Horse is an individual and for whatever reason discord on. Which obviously, you know provides any. He properties enjoins. It's very comedies commonly used in La. Chicken used quite bakery and It just this case early it's. It has. Cheated metabolize the way. They expected or whatever. So you know I mean unfortunately, it's like it's still beyond the threshold. Or to call. That test, the problem and and obviously it's the IRA now, and obviously, you know this is all maybe a little premature to cause remember now the. Was Comeback at so. Sometimes he since y'all for not the point because it's gotta come back from every sample in order to be Order. TO BE CONSIDERED A. Test so far online is. Still talking you know in our hats here but actually We'll wait and see just what comes up to now wise occurring probably because it's An island out. Quite right. So. Well. Steve will tell. Explain. Explain. The diagnostic part of this and explain why. A trainer and a vet. Wanted Using Anti-obama Tori letelier illegal med, what you're dealing with in the horse and what the treatment represents and and why you know if you're on a schedule to try to get to a a race, you know a race is weeks away explain how that decision is made and what the trainer is dealing with in that case and what the vet is trying to help with. Actually occurred here is you know obviously they detected either in deficit or something that they felt like created like an cemetry in a day or you know she showed maybe some fusion. Head or pressuring joint, whatever and they. evaluated. The situation of physical physical exam maybe an order or. Go Away to graphically determine that they were going to go ahead and institute into our ticket or injection Most likely HEIREANN GAS IT and according to steroid in combination, and this is why this is done and this is why it showed up but we're talking about two weeks out because the rules Paul Kane used to be. People used horses a awake out sometimes. Certain jurisdictions a couple of days out now it's been backed up to fourteen days to the level of withdrawal and or the entrusts hold that would. Do Passable. We'd get through a post race examination of both serum or urine and essentially. It's it's it's it's just goes with the with the Times I. Mean, you know these horses are trained hard sometimes, they require mainland show to keep these joints comfortable and keep them from overload another airs, and when you could potentially create breakdown or injury or permanent deficit. If you don't address it, it may be not necessary this joint but maybe you know compensatory that she was coming off getting away from this problem. So this is why do the join Jackson's essential and you know the case think that virtual for decades ten things that came up with twenty seven according to the. Information, I was given an farmland Muzak. Their ritual, they have to call them. Zero tolerance on anything goes over. The threshold so. This is done. This is why it's detected. It just seems like it's a fairly new system disqualify that, and so therefore, just a situation where we really need to look. You, know the the the system is a little out of kilter or maybe they're the threshold there declaring is not. Proper for you know the medication that they're looking at or testing or. Maybe, the guy got a little too much in. It's hard to say but more than likely that would be changed my problems is. Different kind of house. From the standpoint of he's racing big races, the oaks is. Is Major fixture on any three year old fillies. Deaths and you know you know you don't push the envelope on waste that or so you know I it's obviously a misunderstanding indoor a, and then there's no doubt in my mind was not pension. So Salaam line is that you know it's gotta get down fixed and figured out what's the best way to go forward with this situation from their on. Didn't Steve The What other options are out there and This is a product Beta method zone that is. That that does have a tendency to linger and so what what what options do you have I mean if you're if you're just trying to if you're just trying to kind of. Placate some some inflammation. What else can you do? You can go with any inflammatory route more predictable It basically just covers symptoms as necessary picture of the problem itself. So that's one of the drawbacks of it, but it's safe and it's it's a lot more predictable and you know you've got a lot more number of cases that have actually discovered. You know the the The the process. So you're less likely to have an over over at your pets comeback with a problem. This you go with other medications adequacy on the go with a number. You know you go on and on about what could be done, but the bottom line is, yeah that's not what was elected here was elected to injector, and that's why they've got the problem to deal with curve on a different corker steroid gone with try and similar on. A night, which is bete-noire or catalog and this particular. Is a lot more predictable and in independent was a lot more consistently. So you know his own I mean I'm not going to tell another guy practice, but it's got their way and I've got mine too obviously. But in this particular case it just you know I obviously, it's coming back because of the shock, it's going to cost them a fair amount of purse money indoor. Other in all the other things that go on with that, but you know I mean, this is the core. Still premature. Let's just wait and see how the free sample comes back. It comes back. You know at the threshold below then you know then the. Formula Well, and I and specifics. This specific case is just I thought a good opportunity for you to explain. What the outfits? This or any other outfit is dealing with you know trying to trying to treat issues you know with the the legal meds and I'm glad that that unprompted you brought up something that I said early in the show and I. Hated your visit, which is. Why we we've pushed the use of any therapeutics. We've pushed them further and further away from race. Day and. You brought up a great point that you know forty eight hours than seventy two, then seven days now fourteen days, and so it's you know you're you're the methodology of of dealing with. With. A with a horse and and getting them to A. Tour an assignment. Keeps changing, but and evolving and everybody has to deal with that I mean, that's just that's part of. That's part of. Playing by the rules and You know. That that element though the public should appreciate you know that there's less and less. There's less and less going into Chuck Simon said this yesterday, there's less and less actually going into the ors. That's Most definitely. I mean, you know you look you're getting a pure product. You know you're getting a true expression in a good thing from the standpoint that you know you're you're probably getting better expression to the actual genetics and it probably helps set the breeding game long run probably. The better horses with the better pedigrees are probably winning better. Race is not a good thing because that way you can perpetuate the best. To. I appreciate it. Steve I wanted I wanted to slip this today and Because people. We've talked about so many different times over the years. And the public doesn't. It doesn't seem that they're interested in in understanding the difference between therapeutic meds and. Medications that. You know are are specifically. Looking to. A evade detection and essentially I mean A. Conscious efforts that she versus. You know the the threshold issues and And the overages involved in therapeutic meds I it. It's always worth a discussion. Yes most definitely because they'll mainly see. But you said, you know, I officer moving target that's problematic for the end user and the second thing is is that you know you you the more cases you have the more number you have in buying the better statistical she should have a what you mean you know look at is or how far you need to look at what medications need to look at for the withdrawal period. You're saying you don't get. You don't have these kind of post race problems since we. Dr Steven All Day horse help today brought to you by Lewiston and reborn visit Lou Verson L. U. B. R. I, S. Y. N. Dot Com and the all day dot com where. And and singer help you with Your Sport Horse Your Pleasure Horse you're. Whatever it might be Steve Always. Appreciate it. Thank you buddy you got. Dr Steven All day and Steve's on twitter four legs dock. tweets. I think the LEWISTON team tweets more than than Steve once in a while. Once, in a while he'll. He'll send up a flare. Or shot across the bow. So that, we're going to stay here because we got much to do. We got fifty minutes and Ed to rose is going to join us and then Nick Zito. zito appearance. Always. Great. We're to talk to nick because it's the thirteenth anniversary thirteen years ago today. War Pass in the juvenile and I think we're good at the I think for the. Nick what's to bring up the thirty six read too and? I don't blame him thirty six red thirty years ago today. For his try in the classic where he was third behind unbridled. Let let nick talk he's had you know he's had his share of. He's had to think he's got to. To Breeders Cup Wins Storm Song she won she won A. Juvenile fillies for Nick. But he's had. You know he's he's had a few dozen tries and has had a lot of board hits at and Tomorrow Kirin? McLaughlin. Will be a lot of fun because Kirin a Garin also had a ton. Over the years he had a I got a I. Think I wrote it down somewhere. He had in in vizor obviously low dude and. I mentioned earlier but he had I bet you another six or seven near misses. A Knicks add. Share as well. Nick two wins, four seconds and five thirds in the cop tough to win and Ed Rosa is. Going to. Help discuss. How you win how you approach the Breeders Cup Ed Good Morning. Good Morning. Coming on A. Really is and this is a good time as we wait for tomorrow's pre-entry announcement, and then we can start to at least for you know the the fields that will not be. You know. undefined. The they'll be a few races where they'll be cross entries and you know we'll have to get some feel on the decisions. The leans but it's a good opportunity to just think about. The manner in which you approach the cop and I, I do this every year the week out it's always. Fun to a people talk about your general approach maybe how it's evolved over the years as the event has expanded the others. There's more you know in race choices there's more others today day there's multi-race. There's so many different ways to approach it talk a little bit about your. Your Breeders, Cup vetting philosophies. I think Somewhat, cliche about another day at the races. But from a handicap in perspective especially knowing you're getting two full days great ray things top to bottom both days you know i. do think it's Ok where my strongest opinions were my weakest opinions and how do I could you know it? The most value out of the former and avoid the mind of the ladder, and for me just thinking back as a as a young player I think one of my my bigger mistakes back when. I was okay I you know have X. Tibet and Aminu bad. You know this much on each race or this much on each pick three and obviously that's not an appropriate use of your bankroll not all opinions of the same and You know we have the luxury. Of the breeders, Cup of being able to look at these races you know really for for weeks ahead of time and we've got the contender PP's out for a while now but the pre entries help us. Focus a little clear, and then the final PP's next week fully into focus where we wanNA take our stand. But for me, that's what You know. Again, any day at the races I think you want to make sure you know strong opinions our but especially, Breeders Cup where we have it's a pair of mutual gain and a lot of opinions out there listening to your show obviously social media reading brisk net reading the competition. It's important. I think to now where people are gravitating and if you have an opinion that's against that, that's usually a good opportunity. So eagerly awaiting my first thought of man everyone thinks this is great. I don't like that one at all that might be an opportunity or vice versa You know you're on a horse that people tell you can't win I'm surprised that seems like by my standard still flying under the radar and you know. Is He is likely winner of that race of course not but it fifteen or twenty to one. You know maybe that's the horse you can. You can do a whole whole day's wages around trying to get in the number. So those are the things I'm thinking about. And there's a few there's a few things to riff off of that and a lot of it It gets into the you know. The bankroll management. You know especially, if you know, you know you are going to have a limited bankroll and limited limited for some people might be you know twenty, five hundred and some others might be two, hundred fifty and for others literally might be you know seventy five to one hundred dollars for the two days and and they have to be. Very austere but you you WanNa make it count and so applying your leverage to your. Specific situation is a big part of this and There's you know there's any number of. Of of advisable. I I would say mental approaches and one of the things I always talk about is that you know. It's two days and really the Saturday being the key. It's only gonNA take one hit It's only gonNA take. You know one. Opinion successfully executed to make the weekend. And I and if it if it happens to come in the classic I, bring this up. All the time we were walking out. Tina was with me. In fact, we were walking out for the classic and I'd had a rotten day. And? It just happened that. I made a decision with like literally seven minutes the Post that I was going to. Key off of Fort Larne it I love the way Fort Leonard looked going to the you going on the track and I ended up. Hitting. The try and making the whole weekend There I think the keeneland going back to the keeneland. The first for. Day, hit A. Pick four on Friday for thirty, six hundred and you know, and then Kinda coasted and gave some back and did not have much of a Saturday it. It doesn't matter where you do it. It it just. You, you can be patient and and hit your spot. And it's going to make the weekend You can't. You know you can't. Get down on yourself if you don't hit your first three bets of the of the two days. That's right. Yeah. I would encourage people in. Some ways to supplies to any day of racing as well. But you know with the Breeders Cup and some confidence in the big pools and and things aren't going to get zapped in the final minute You know the the wind pool definitely comes into play for me on the bigger a and that you know to bring up computer players as Boogie man. I'm cognizant that the odds you see it two or three minutes to post on a Tuesday at Mahoning or likely not going to be the final odds when they spring the latch there even at at Churchill or naira, but I'm Breeders Cup. Day I think you know with all the chatter and you get a sense of how the markets reacting and we'll react you know there are some opportunities where you can feel confident you're going to get the price you want on a horseshoe like and don't don't squander those opportunities with lesser opinions and sometimes there's ways to make your strong opinion on a horse who can win work and exotic wagering and other times. Maybe those are the races around it that you've identified as you're not is comfortable with and don't have a strong opinion and you know hundred win at ten to one thousand dollars. You can spend that same hundred on a pick three that either pay nothing or pays less than that. So I always be mindful especially with your singles of of what you would be guaranteed to get the win pool if you hit. I'd also throw in one of my favorite suggestions that and you know invariably I hear from people you know after. Copper after triple crown. Weekends. I if if you are. Let's say you're a pick four player pick five player in the most of the year. And particularly if you've got. Fairly limited budget and you can't spend. Freely. I've suggested for years especially as the with the with the denominations. Lowering, the fifty cents rise in the vison threes. If you. are a pick four player. Cut Back. You know one race and play pick threes if you're a a pick three player. You may want to. Cut back and play doubles. Because, the you know the exponential risk and and grant granted the exponential reward of hitting the bats the bigger. Speak for themselves but. The payoffs are are so. Typically. Inflated Breeders Cup that you can. Heal offset that you. You don't you don't have to not every single bet has to be. A grand slam walk off home run. and. Decreasing the level of difficulty by dialing back. One Layer. If you're if you're a super player back it up tries if you're try player backed up to exact us I, mean I I have made that suggestion repeatedly over the years at. I you know myself. I try to I try to be conscious especially if you're you're feeling like you don't have. You know you don't. You don't have as good a feel in some of the legs and particularly if you think there's you know five six wind candidates in a spot and you know as opposed to as opposed to Monday through Sunday. It there's going to be racist. You'RE GONNA look at and say I mean there's six or seven horses that can legitimately win and so what does that do to your multi-race approach? And I think to even if you. Are Typically a pick four, pick five player as I am I mean I. You know I'm guilty anyone that thought chasing the big payoff and you know the the ego boost is well I. had it definitely more in play with the pick five, pick three but. You know as you're looking through a sequence, you may find man this seems really logical. What am I adding in terms of using the favorite in the fourth leg of a pick four verses Playing the pick three maybe for dollar instead of fifty cents. Or just thinking of those options is while like okay here's my pick five. Here's what it's GonNa. Cost I'm you know maybe you're comfortable that you love the ticket fine but there are times when I'm looking I'm like man, I have the checking and and third choice and three hundred, the five legs and you know is is the pick three the better opportunity to you know really make score it's not as sexy to do that per se but I think a lot of times we. We cost ourselves. equity by you know playing extra legs where that's not where strongest opinions are. The. It's obviously early to start. Digging in and and and. Having a feel for who you're a you may lean on. But certainly, if we use last year for instance as as an example, I mean there there were no shortage of players that absolutely. Just figured that that bricks and mortar couldn't lose and the that was there. You know that was their late Saturday single and. You got a little Lucky v the that that could have gotten. A God no I I can't even imagine the numbers. You know how they they would've is sort. If united hangs on but you know that that is the example that you you for. You know that kind of opinion I I talked about it. It's thirteen years ago today that we had the MONMOUTH. Breeders Cup and for a minute loop horse both years. Groupie. Doll a horse both years that I I just I didn't think would lose. and. That's where you make your stand and then you feather out from there. I think it's been awhile can't think the last time I really felt Shraga. Sister. Charlie two years ago But yeah, I mean you're you have a few. And they don't always come in obviously but I think my strongest opinion last year. Steve Actually was I was against midnight zoo and made the most starters blue prize be my top pick and unfortunately I did have a pick for going united be no Rosa. So I've I've thought a few times about what that may come back. Racing I've been on the other side of it too. So When it comes out in the Washer ahead? Yeah, and I think that's a good point to You know about flu prize she wasn't necessarily my most likely winner on the day. I would say probably bricks and mortar who, I. I did have singled on a fair share of tickets but because blue prize one was able to to stretch a little bit in the turf but sometimes I. Think it can be valuable to have that strong opinion of of what favorite is GonNa be and I know for some if they're really going to believe in the numbers that might be princess nor and Friday in the juvenile fillies you know monoploy girl could be one people are against they might have a strong opinion with skydiver. The dispatch fast you know so to me that strong opinion doesn't always have to be at most likely winner and I would actually discourage people if you have the same most likely winners everyone else fine. But this probably less value in that unless you have A. Another opinion to go with it against the favorite So hopefully, we'll find some vulnerable favorites too because to me that's just as important as finding the the ones you like to win. That that's well that's. Point well taken. And the the vulnerable favorite side of it to me feels more like a like a an in-race. Opportunity. Because even even a potential vulnerable favorite is probably GONNA make their way onto at least a backup to hit right when it comes to the Maltese. Yes especially, if you like price where I mean that's something you know that's where I think. The ABC method comes in handy is is not necessarily just know putting. you know what I would say the grid or Chris would say ABC's not just always happening that and saying, okay, I can have you know three as gonNa be Etcetera Etcetera I think to me about okay. Where are the vulnerable favor satellites but? Would I really WANNA get beat by a two to one if by my standard classic of course not. But am I willing to get beat by the two to one if his law runs off the screen maybe So those to me are the second level decisions that you know. An exotic player needs to consider. 'cause you know it's definitely no fun putting. Fifty dollars into sequence chalks out So I'm always looking to play those kinds of tickets, but it's the same time if I think yeah, the can win. It's two to one value in the wind pool maybe not but it's probably value if you hook it up with a separator horse like by my standards might be. Still and Just, looking I as we're talking I, pulled up I pulled up last year. and. 'cause I I. Yeah I, I had made bricks and mortar. Thought I had. Yeah, I had singled bricks and mortar. In the In the pick for the pick five. And And actually hit. A pick four actually hit on a backup ticket. with. Blue. Prizes. The Sea. and. I mean, you know look at it last year I mean the the tough horse the horse was blue prize who you nailed because it went the pick five went Matali. Muni. Blue, prize bricks, and mortar Vino. Rosso. Yeah Prize, was the. Biggest price there. Everybody else is going to be on your ticket. I. Mean. Matali. Obviously I mean the right and and. Certainly Odi. Bricks and mortar in. The pick four paid four forty. And I forget what the pick five paid. but. That's another I also recommend an anti certainly. Got Me doing this weeks ago when we started talking about the. The keeneland. Breeders Cup at and. Get it going back and looking at. UH Go back and look. At. The charts and Dig through. Y- at this point, this is what Breeders Cup. Thirty. Eight. Thirty seven, thirty, seven to thirty, eight dance, and then range and There's there's certain themes I mean including including some that are inexplicable like the juvenile turf races how how? The Euro. Invaders. Win The the boys race and they can't win the girls race. It's it's the craziest thing. I it makes no sense. That is bizarre but. Interesting Yeah. It it's you know there's certain things that you know that the cup is has managed to. You know at this point as managed to you know there's certain themes that Become. You know become pretty regular but I I would think you know because of. Because of the late nature I mean obviously we're worried about the way the turf is GonNa play. And you know how much more weather we're going to get between now and next week but. You know. Having. A feel for what went on Keeneland four years ago. Is probably going to you know probably serves you pretty well. in terms of shorter term sample and I'm I'm inclined to think. Maybe more anomaly because. Six and a half and seven for a long. This was not an issue but the rail was over thirty nine going six for long fifteen months in October. The rail was over thirty, nine, oh. That's right. That's right. That's right. Fix furlongs. I I do have one Breeders Cup at I've already placed a friend in Canada. Got Me down. Tell me. I have a wind parlay sister traveling by my standards three, hundred, thirty, seven to one. Way listed where do where? What how is that? How is that place? one candidate they they have access to I. Don't know if this was caddy power what. But one of. The. They're allowed to use the you know the European books. Okay. So just you know the beauty at twitter at a buddy up there. I know likes to get down on some futures and I just nice. Noticed that odds checker prices, I was comfortable with and. Instead, of Beckenham individually I figure after ten bucks I can. Cover my day if they both went very cool I. Like. Well we're going to do more of this as we get closer of course and Heddon they'll get ed and James and. The the full, the full frontal assault next, week? Yeah. I I right yes. It's funny. I, my inclination I I've been set. And I I was wavering a few weeks ago and then I sort of made a mental commitment and then over the last twenty, four hours I've I've suddenly. Suddenly gotten a little. IFFY. Again But I I expect so. The team has got to get rid of me for. It's The. Results. Tuesday, have any sway on your decision. No not not You know not not. Not unless know somebody's planning overturning my car an setting it on fire. That's more likely if you K- wins the game then. That's just couches I thought. Well. We'll see I I. MY I got I'm book actually I paid for paid for a room so I'm I'm. kind of locked in but Committed as they say. Good job. Couple of quick hits about the weekend and an opening day. Sunday. Yeah, it was actually a good day hopefully, exercising some demons from a great September meet at Churchill. But I, I like Kenny's horse who ran off the screen camp hope attend to one. So that that was a good one to have I'm not sure what the deal is with coach You know the the owner and the winner circle. After the race. Ricky Byrd said, they thought about debut in sorts for tag and I know after the debut which themed decent you know they were still like we're not sure that race was much meant she ran off the screen again and then she wins a stakes race You Know Tartu imagine a Brad Cox two year old who won its? First two career races by fourteen combined fourteen lengths. was odds-on interstates debut but you know we'll. We'll see she must not be a morning glory because you know it was hard to hear too much positive but that was exciting and I. thought a good start to the made. It was great to see fans Churchill, from what I saw was very strict about enforcing. The regulations to keep people say so I felt good about being there and just over always great. To See Butts in the seats and getting out of the seats to cheer their horses on stage now that's yeah. That part of it it. It's amazing. Even, just watching it and hearing people and seeing you know seeing movement and activity is just. Realize how much you miss it. Saratoga Saratoga season was just so you know. It's kind of empty Being there was nice but it just didn't have it just doesn't. Not, the same, it's just not the same. I do have a pick for Wednesday go ahead. race number six, fifty thousand claimer I like number six, noman eight to one on the morning line the the person net rating fix up with this group hoping that you know people are kind of thrown off by the New Mexico form I love to know the story how the source ended up ship in Eastern Kentucky to be in Brendan's Barn and they throw in for tag right off the rip. But I think we're going to get the right price with those running lines to take a shot at this one can can run back to a couple of good races in New Mexico. Nice. They've had Race actually I just you know just looking at entries and and so forth but The. Racing I mean, the fields have been feel sizes been good. Yeah Ten races as well. One thing Thursday. So you know robust cards and I would definitely planned for off the turf though for those. You gotTA start wondering. Yes. Well. Six race tomorrow and three, thirty, six, eastern and ED I. Appreciate it This is great and we'll do more of it, and then we'll start to zero in next week with with you and James, and of course, the full complement of. Material and information and reports and. the. COMING FROM THE PRISONER TEAM and Twin spires. Ed. Thanks a lot. My pleasure. We're going to stay here because nick. Zito is standing by and I knew this morning when I saw that it was exactly thirteen years ago today that we were all at Monmouth Park. I don't care how much rain came down. It was still great and it was it was a terrific cup. Despite. Everything and part of it was nick winning with war passage joins us now nick of Morton. Morning Mr Steve Great Show today I had I. Got Lucky a little bit of I. got out for a little while in You had some great guests on all days. Amazing. And Hid Fernando's amazing and I've been listening so I did good today you had a great show. Thank you. Well. These these are fun. You know yesterday with Meg and we talked about his his win as a writer and also has i. which came for Tommy skipping ten and eighty five. Talk about your, you know the way you viewed the The Cup. When it when it was instituted and how you you know how you started to gear Opportunities horses toward it. Well, we're fortunate as you know, we had a lot of great horses and. I think you know comes to mind you know thirty six reds was very interesting, and then we'll go back to pass thirty six. Nineteen ninety. So you go way back and It was very interesting because. He had run second. He had run derby died waited for the Belmont runs second. And I'm bridal was four. We were second took some island going to come over here right and and beat us. But it was really interesting Dr all day and you were talking about medications whatever you look at the pretty sure in the Belmont. We beat them bridal. He had no lasix because we didn't have and he couldn't use any new. York it's a time. And then The cup. Unbridled did beat us. It was an inexperienced jockey you get a kick out of this everybody will. Name was Mike Smith I said Mikey. Is. Really Is really dead today. Favorite cycle more to come home, you can stay right on rail. In Bay and bridal beat him. But he was tough. You know he fought. All the around. I don't know if he was going to beat them but I mean. Mike was on and he gave us a good. So from then. I think we started to. Build off the nineties went on. Then Steve. Ninety six is you brought up that was a good one because we had storm Song I love that jazz one to. Add except acceptable for General George George Steinbrenner Steinbrenner he had got be Mac and then Louis could tell us. At. The time of the world's richest race got beat knows. alphabet soup and Cigar was third. I. Was in Canada. Sort of copped was always on my mind. And then. Walk Passes. Cop was just spectacular because I run into Musa today and. A Nice horse that he's got his funeral I said not Steve. Kinda. Reminds you walk she says, yeah I know you beat me three times three times twice with pyro and once Kodiak Cowboy Got Jackie's worry reminds me of. pestle because undoubtably he was the best two year old. Watch Steve is you know horses he came up with some problems as old then. I look at that would memorial. They used the rabbit to run with him and it's the first time rabbit was out run. Actually pass ranch faster than the rabbit and just got beat up the wire. But he was a great but does was Breeders Cup was just tremendous I think what happens is if you are in position. And I made one mistake you'll this team as you're going to start him. I did make a mistake I'll tell you what it was. It had was called Greenwood Lake. On the Champagne. And remember the nonsense with said Oh. You know which is all true at the time you can't win the Derby if you If you win Breeders Cup two year old and and that right and you had an fly know I'm gonNA waited. I'll be. So that's an across myself to Chiro Championship because. Forces that wanted. We had destroyed. You know what I mean and I didn't I just felt like, well, let's get and it didn't work out because he came back as trae roller. Know so I think the Breeders Cup is really really really beneficial for anybody that can run and it should it because you never know what happens if very next year but any of the horses whether it's a two, zero, three, zero, it's. Anything better off if you have a chance, you should participate for sure because the great opportunity. He had the refresh everybody's memory i. mean he really burst on the scene with with the debut fairly early in the meet at Saratoga Your good friend Andy. You Sat in a box me we couldn't believe it because I told everybody I loved this horse and I'll tell you it starring real quick after that leading up to so so knock a tiny rodent looking on the board seven to one. So wait a second. I don't even know who is in you would know but he won first time out and for us that was great because we don't usually squeeze him but. You know you couldn't name my first time stars role stakes stakes-winning won first time out. And walk passes just brand came back if you can believe it. Take you one other then. Yeah they don't have them more. You have to run a mistake. They don't have them anymore. If you break your main running the state, you don't run into one very, very risky especially in New York but anyway. He did that then he wanted to champagne and then he was just tremendous in the Breeders Cup he was just tremendous. So here's a wonderful thing was happy you know missile defense and Bob was. Happy at his crew and we all happy. It was just a wonderful day Jimmy Islam was there and he got into, you know his dad was instrumental with. Two. Years. It was it was a cool thing and you know Lincoln my good friend. Good it was a lot of good memories that thank you for bringing them on. So I, love your show. That's the thing about it is but predeceased cough debris. It's It's it's in itself because all the races. The triple crown which as you know, there's nothing like the Derby, the preakness. Belmont. One is run the right way but. The Breeders Cup brings all those races so for the actual as you point out. Fan or racing. Fan. It's probably his biggest day. You know I think you know what? I'm saying I think his biggest. Old. Visions. All divisions and you could tell who could be champion, who could be not champion and Is Very very interesting and it. It's a good thing. It's a good thing. Good thing years ago. They didn't have the Breeders Cup and Breeders Cup took a lot of emphasis away from these famous races. Yes we used to have. And some people you know historians I mean. People have. Broken this game is still. kind of upset about that. It took a lot of way but on the other hand. Look of the attention avoid publicity, and slowly you know all the action basically so. It's a good thing I like to see. You know what I love to see. Thrilling races I mean or an exceptional I hope that The two year old Jackie's were. I hope he keeps going because he reminds me of war cast my. Office obviously got a nice loss. There's a lot of Nice losses in have but. I like to see that and then the other thing that Breeders Cup brings to. Look at Whitmore what is he seven? Now? He's seven I think. More running. So isn't that wonderful that you got horses like that in Scranton everything so You got the Europeans whatever. Stephen Learning philosophy and listen to you I'm telling you. The. Dick Powell Hong Kong I got it up. We're going to listen we're. going. To listen to war passes. Breeders Cup Juvenile Win just just to give everybody the the field as nick mentioned Corey Nakatani gets them home at seven to one in Saratoga the end of July July, twenty eighth and in in there actually I and I don't this amazes me I did not remember that's lose Tis now. It was also his debut Joel Lacomb and Pat Bian. Koen. Was Training for Joola Calm I. Always think of them sloughs tizzy and sluiced his now I think of them as west coast but sloughs Tis now debuted at Saratoga. In this race the favourite was was Rick Violet and Seth Carmen and Bill Lawrence, with globalization I remember that because he ran into Breeders Cup of that. And and Zayat had commandeered who was second to you at a big price to this was This was a nice mutual, fifteen, eighty, two, win and fifteen, forty two to place the exact the paid to eighty eight for two bucks. Sixteen but whatever well then. I'm sure Then the allowance when you mentioned and that's where you met Pyro the first time and then listen to this field in the champagne war pass. And you did not go favored, which is, which is interesting majestic warrior. was was favored. That's kinsman. Now that's that's. and. Steinbrenner. War Pass Beats, Pyro Z. Humor Lantana mob silver edition Majestic Warrior Anna Kim, and readies image that was. A very nice champagne and you still pay eleven twenty and that sets up this Breeders Cup where this time you argo favored. Little under five to two and lining up against pyro. Kodiak Cowboy Tele Coty. You're going to hear called humor old man Buck I think that's mcpeek overextended short. Do I haven't seen that name that forever salute the SARGE was in here wicked style and then globalization again Casey, is got it cued up. Let's listen to the. Two Thousand and seven juvenile thirteen years ago today. Delete the wicked style GonNa. Tuck in behind them today they throw the lines Asian. In the red cap going up alongside of the leaders Kodiak cowboys pushed along a little in the early stages e humor goes through it. The riles humor only two and Sophie, as leaders Jimmy Trump back to firoz racing on his own gives an start another three back to show due old man doctors fall back and over extended nobody thinks he's lives to good eighteen off later they swing onto the backstretch now and wall past setting solid ice but he's nice and relaxed out here as well as later by nearly two things globalization seconds. Now, here's tale of a party and the goal Kathy seven often leaders on a Train asked again, pick it up and go after that leader. Now on the far side wicked style, he doesn't seem to be happy today wicked styles draw back. pyro is a good twelve oaks tomatoes over extended around shore do is at the back alongside of that old man boxed. Let's see. Can Pass find more he. Can and will pass wealthy pyro running a game on from second but wall. That champion breeders to Yitzi wins this. Past wins it. Was the second. Way Back to cody. And Taylor, the Kanji never alias actor did finish fourth any. Zito and Babul. Penta they are celebrating with their perfect two year old war past wins Breeders Cup Championship now for for four. Zero I got something to tell you. You're pretty good. What music right I mean you like music whatever. Tell me something when he tells you that race call says. And that's the champion walk. Test That's like the greatest Frank Sinatra Melody ever heard him. For playing against I didn't realize he said and the champion. Walk Paso. That's true. Because once you go over that line, you're definitely the chat especially if you're on the feed itself. Back on a couple of a couple of follow ups off of this and. Number, one gotta figure in Cornelio Velasquez. Who is under appreciated for the career that he had and people may not. Know. This. At a top of their head. Cornelio Velasquez one five Breeders Cup races in his career. He won the sprint with Cajun beat for Sativa and Joe Arcane a one, the the Utah upset pleasant home for for Shug in the distaff Kip Deville the same same day you know later in the card. For Rick Throw, and then for you and then came back and won the marathon for Butch Reed. With a fleet again five. Wins, and he came within a couple of jumps of winning a derby when closing argument like winter very late in that over five Derby, how they talk about Cornelio, and also about the wet track how concerned were you about the way? The rain kept coming down. You know everybody's could you first of all Canarias, obviously unappreciated like you said he was a workman's type job. I loved the way Reid. He'd try all the time sometimes too hard I think. I mean no disrespect. I, just think that you know he would overdo it sometimes, but he was such an aggressive right but he was really great. Just. Like you say, just a number appreciate rider. And the wet track? I I think we'll pass a speed. I was just worried about sometimes. You know you never know what foot? Those which way when they leave the gate. So that was my main concern, but once he got going. And he got on cruise control, he was. He was I. WanNa Tell You real quick. What Barbara Livingston's got shot it was unbelievable. You'll love this time. Really love this. So it was a five at Saratoga and you know where I parked my truck at as Paul there and Sarah on training track you know where it is. So so I said to Max when you break off because we couldn't see it. It was all fog. Tracking foggy. I said just go. So she went right I timed it and Barbara Livingston I looked at the clock and I said Holy Cow. It was like unbelievable. If you know I mean the classes couldn't catch him but I I, did it from her voice. Breaking off at the half-mile Pole and then I was right near the wire. So it was cool and you know he did something like human. He was he was he was easily the best here. And again, it was really sad you know he had gone to push the farage had gotten him and he had gone to I think Australia came back and he had to stop off the San Francisco whether it was hot. It got back home to Kentucky. A lot of snow and Something happens out in the field of softening just you know one. Of. Semi felt so good something and I think his first crop CB had some very wants to you and all right. First Crop I think he had. Pets at some horses in the Kentucky Derby I'm pretty sure. Now that I forgot, I forgot how premature Tremendous but but as far as bringing of a two year old. He was unbelievable. He he's got to be one of the best other than I'm Brian. Song. I hadn't the end of his career. I don't think ability wise. I. Mean I love that. So many great ones that you've find it out. But ability wanted to me I don't want to sound like. All of us you know. All. The time. Sometimes. You get drunk woody. This wasn't could've started because you'd have to have a drink on the second floor Jerry, what's his name Jerry back to I? Mean it was unbelievable those days but I can tell you this much. He had as much ability other than a bridal song cheer ability. Anywhere else I had my hands and I had some great ones maybe even better but. Ability you know what I'm talking about just town. Just. Town yes. What's A nick as part of the as part of these cup moments and we had the conversation yesterday with with Megan? Tomorrow Caring McLaughlin going to join us. We mentioned storm Song. But of the of the runner up performances, acceptable Luik tours love that jazz in the juvenile fillies and morning line who who, who, the field probably or maybe even somebody else who the field. If they had run it a few times you would have won. Many. That hurts as Louis concerns. He got stopped cold looking at stop. Awesome. Frontmen Pat Day. Long shot. Probably Cost Him And I also think morning line you could believe it again I'm not mistaken look at the one horse. Again. Enough. Incoming Jockey two, thousand, ten, it was. Joel Rosario. Havi had to do all the dirty work with thirty work with money line and just got nailed of the last. The last jumper probably. Louis was the most ample because you beat cigar and he would been you know. I don't know who the three year old champion was get won the preakness but certainly Louis would have been the year old champion I think if you had one that. So. That's probably the most painful is a lot of them, but you're right. There's a lot of I'm sure. So I think in his is quite a few more you'll look at the record but I'll tell you tough beat I. had you don't believe. I had this I wonder inboard. McLaughlin would invite. You, beat me in a chemical spat was really upset that day. Danny beat me but sung king in the Whitney. whispered. "Steve. And becoming interviews this is. Steve. We're back and I when I, when I went looking for for Chelsea's. Twitter address. And and I typed in danner. The funniest thing is that the first thing that popped up was a listing of of one of our shows. From late last year of all things and it was with. Doug. Doug Danner and I had forgotten this but You know most often we would get doug on. I think with the. With freethinking. Several. You know conversations. During his career, but it was I reached out to him about. The the ten year old. That made. Prom theme that was making a hundred and ninth career start. Late, last year December nineteenth it was last time doug was on. Pretty funny and then curiously. I I. Don't even know why it's okay. It's not I was GONNA say it doesn't make sense timing. Wise. But here's a picture of Tony on one of our forces on unread board king when he broke his maiden pretty funny anyway. Great to get. To get Kelsey down around I had tried her a few times and it might be that I. Had A number that wasn't That wasn't right. So maybe that's why because she certainly was fun and and seem quite Quite willing. So. She's take. She's she's nicely positioned With. With these kinds of courses that that horse that I mentioned. That monorail that. That's too bad. I mean the school nice for. Him. But, that was a debut winner. And you certainly. Out of way that you remember off the tracks she was. She was a serious or she won. The Coaching Club or Something that you win the Alabama. That they're Said said good morning. Our. Good I'm good. I'm trying. They'll complaints off the tracks when after look her up over to write her down because she I remember her it's really not that. I just a few years ago. This must be her first foal. She herself was by Caroline. So we'll. Go back and find turn. She if I'm not mistaken she started. She started with somebody. In. Florida I think and then got and then. Transferred I can't remember. Off The tracks. All right. We'll check back on that said I I'm glad we can convene because. This hatful of stallion. maneuvers since we talked last Wednesday. And then within you know within forty eight hours, there was significant story so that that started a crop Laya band will move from. New York to Kentucky Caravaggio will take up residence at Ashford and daredevil coming home and then to all off this Edina. Partnership deal with Hill. Lyndale. quite notable. Go Sapper. Coming to Dale along with Muccio Macho man and point eventually This was quite a week. Activity. Yeah. I, your thoughts, I mean considering. Considering there's so many. There's so many of the story lives you and I feature in conversation regularly including the export of stallions, shovel stallions, and then regional market stallions and really. All, these plots were were covered with the web. Yes very much talk about let's start the which start whichever one you want. To Ban, the case where you have regional horse. and got obviously simply ravishing grade one winner. Once you get, you know a great one winner in your service crop two year olds. By the right type of sire uncle Mo.. We've got NYQUIST and out work as well. Good looking horse look second uncle mount to. you know. That's when the frenzy starts In in Kentucky and You know I kind of knew that the this is taking place because they had A. Sealed bid auction been source about. About two weeks ago. And Obviously Windstar won. The prize. and. So he's coming here and going to be standing for twenty five thousand dollars. meanwhile, we had lost Geared up will who made. Turkeys Jockey Club. But the Turkey? Jockey. Club A now has approach lanes then about standing the horse for them. So you've got a very unusual situation Turkish jockey. Club. Owning the horses and standing in back in America again, capitalize on. His popularity with you know, have you seen the cooks winner in? Multiple G one winner craft winner in Switz- Guy Pussy Kentucky Oaks winner and she the devil. So that's an unusual move to come back but kind of expected as well. The rumors. Yeah. The rumors have been had. You know the right even even well before the. Even before the Kentucky Oaks, I mean the the what was going on with with skydiver had people, and then there had been some other minor winners. That were bubbling to the surface and do. We hear these rumors but a lot of times it ends up being. You know just just rumors and and it doesn't come to fruition like this. and. You know it's interesting. It's GonNa be the Turkish Jockey Club. Spanish. Because they've been. Trying to. You know there was interest in horse and they put a price on a horse and nobody. was. Willing to. Bite on that price. which was Rumored to be. Ten. million. So they decided to stand the horse. Themselves Here. So you know the thing or is here. to twenty five dollars you know they're they. They have a chance to actually. Make all the money back on what they spent on the Horse. First? Price plus up. So You know it's a it's a booth to capitalize on that and. He never know how what is future's really going to be like here. Know. You're to. I demand Wayne they'll probably take my back to. Now withstand second third and fourth crump mayors. Be Done. Fantastic meaning we're going to have to you know have production from. Lower. Quality Mares over the next few years which always the big bugaboo for horses. This applies to lay Obama's well. The thing with Larry Band that he's got. It could be it could end up being terrific stallion but what he got as a backup in, he's got so many New, York breads, he can keep it black type. Yeah Yeah. You can keep his black cat going with restricted grades in New, York right? So that's you know that's always a UH. Kind, of good way keep horses name. In spotlight my Those are certainly really interesting development the third one actually I. I. I actually called John t core this weekend just to make sure whether. I, originally miss the original notification that he was. Moving. Goes Zapper that is but the other think Sunday. And the? you know John over the weekend about it. Yeah two big move for John John now has. Type Ramallah's. Trying to set up He's I've got. Curling. He's got king storing goes up terrific stallion and and. Really emerging good mare side you know boomer sire the to. So you know it's a, it's a great each for John Moving to. Off. and. Filling in some spots on the order. A Team. You got your young prospect. McCain's music starring show. Eventual stardom. He got. got. Ten therapy to broaden from Florida doubt. you know. A. Lot of younger horses still not. With, runners yet and By throwing This horse at a price point you've got midnight lute him really proven or something see. you know he's really rushing out. It's down. boxster with a mix of. Free agent. And and you know well, spotted Non Drafted Free Agent? Violence. Has Come out big frame now again that tweet. you know g one winners this year Leading. Contemporary. Big Move for Lyndale. A couple of a couple of notes within the within the D. l.. I. Mean. Obviously go sapper and we're GONNA talk to John Probably. Next week and get some of the perspective from him but I I. Feel like to me the. The sleeper in this go sappers a known quantity and and Muccio. Macho man. Seems to. Seems to still be kind of feeling his way to me. The Important Hidden Gem in here is point of entry. And and you know the the Dinah former the importance of diner former. You know to me can't be. Under under sold. The. There will be steady. Steady successes. That point of entry, and in fact, he you know he had a nice seller yesterday one here point of entry and the diner former line to me is. Is Too. There's too much. Success and there's too many positives associated with that. You know with with the top at bottom here I mean you got the Phipps. Strength and everything that comes with it I just I. I would think that point of entry Has Got You know when you look at when you look At, trades in in baseball and and you know there's that there's that throw in that Try It. For him because. You know you never know. You never know flying You know what? They what they could put up these. You've seen it with temple city at spendthrift. You you've seen. The sources shown some life. With you know already It's just a matter of. The diner formers and you know Donald Former by the way down and it started off really cheap to. Five Thousand Dollars went up all the way to one hundred and fifty dollars. you know He. Was? A. Scandalous down problem that he's running to. During his tenure what he ran into woods, you know a preponderance of dirt. And sprints which goes against his type. but to your point, you know with more turf him and. Seems like. They're more distance races now. Of Shift into. Two point eventually you know. We have you know kittens story came up during the era the. Synthetics. which he really capitalized on. lemurs. Emergence of TURF. And you know hopefully John the same thing I like about him and he's he's never afraid to take chances. and. That's why took a took always like French. As, well, you know, of course that was Mile and a quarter to a mile and a half type and. You don't. He's still waiting on him but that was expected that his is my you know Kirby better the because the crops age so He's got himself covered with you know lots of different types in like he point at this kind of zoning in. Who knows what might happen You know she's commercially. Some of these sources do get hammered. Fortunately but I'd love to see that line. A you know take up in fact. Fifty years one of the. of the Diner Palmerston studies full. verners yet. But, in Canada that's Danish down form. So. You know there's still you know And he studied Canada where the environment really fit with terminal weather. Oh no because I type in point of and. In the search bar and It gives you gave you a few other. Names that have to be. Yeah. That had. Had the same letters. It's pretty funny but there's one to There's there's just two more that are going to sell yet but I'm a fan and I'm interested and you know John John is obviously not. He's not shy about the you know the turf Potential because. He's got Flintshire and Get. Well, you know so. He knows what to do with with those types. You know we should the one we skipped over. As part of this conversation Caravaggio said, and here's a scat daddy son that It was making noise the the babies that had made their way you know to these shores and. I. It did seem like there was a buzz and sure enough Here's Ashford coolmore trying to capitalize on it and I can. A bringing. SCAT. Daddy. Home. And They're such a sophisticated. Organization knowing how to maximize stallion knowing. That, you know first cropper. yearlings this year. So be entering his fourth year Stud you are up. So why not try to? Repackage and bring him here. So he's kind of new here even though it's address courtship nuts done. They've done. You know the Broadway. back that have started over there. I and. And Continued with them here, giant's Causeway Declaration of war. you know. It's it's it's constantly. Trying to repackage something during these tough years at Stud. So What would have been his worst? Near. Europe which is fourteen. They can bring him here and You know rejuvenate market here they've seen how terrifically popular. The other t scat daddy have been. That's Mendelssohn. And justify both of whom got over two hundred, fifty mares in their first year at Stud. So now, What they do is they introduce another scat daddy here but one really. Built almost the American marketplace's. Especially Sprint they're. Out of a holy bull man. Plays here the Cook Great Good Looking Horse and now you got another scat daddy for them here you know. It can take overflow marriage and Mares zone right. And because he's kind of New Year. That stigma that fourth year kind of. Wayne. BITS AGAIN And so. It it's just brilliant plan all around. And Know I think he's GonNa end up being soon. We probably well. Now and just just pulling up their their page. And There is already on the didn't take long for him to make to make the website and. Air Force Blue American Pharaoh. Caravaggio. Classic Empire Competitive Edge Cupid Eco town. My will be there. For them to yes. Yes. Eco Town. When he I didn't Miss I know I'm not sure if he's know Nashville we'll know tomorrow but I know Nashville was entered. In the sprint for the Asmussen Barn. Eco Town I forgot to I forgot the inquire about catoon if he was running justified looking at lucky maximum-security Mendelssohn motown who is already seemingly Getting. Some Buzz Munnings Joke Tale, the cat and uncle Mo So it's a pretty maximum security of course, is headed there too. Yeah maximum security is that are there? And the big mover they're. Really big, price. In terms of going up this year. Where uncle bolt at the Ashford going to one, seventy, five and intimacy of going to take twenty five. At Spencer but you know the some of the big guns. Curling of course held steady at one, seventy five but you've had. warfront dropping to one fifty. Happened at. Twenty. Fifty medallion Diarra one fifty. the some that the big guns dropping. At the top of the market And of course it. Seems like a lot of horses coming to study as well. So. It's going to be really. Interesting he you know the the demand that This year bring contest twenty one you know with with all the economic woes and Whatnot. Keeneland September down twenty percent average The tell will be what the demand is for. Broodmares. At keeneland. particularly. In. Has You know boutiques now? To. Really Nice. Top poisons but. That kind of look Really. Give us a sense of You know what the demand situation will be. For some of these horses next year, keep in mind Close of two, thousand and twenty. those are widely down the offered at keeneland November dog the first. Colts. They'll that will be sold that we'll have this mark on them, which is that day when they go to stunned. Will be limited to one, hundred, forty mayors. All these other words were seen going to start right now. You know they can still try to maximize many mares they can get to. The, all you had. That have been appearing GDN where you know farms are actually. Bragging about how many marriage? Stallions covered audible to eighteen. Could you saw one today Would it. Out. Work Three hundred nineteen folds or something like that. Certainly you know it's something to keep an eye on. Well. Regarding regarding Caravaggio at at Ashford and everything going on there and. Charlie Charlie O'Connor will will help you and At for those, you know even though there's not going to be that many people going toward Lexington Next week. We after for raiders, got I'm going to put a plug in for for Charlie's. Bourbon. Has that. Amazon Bourbon. Bar. Chart me for that was the breeder curve? Is You? I. Didn't know. Yeah. This is a of love yeah. that. I didn't realize that. Charlie's terrific and visit the ends in Bourbon Bar, which is a hidden gem. Korea INVER sales. GETS A. When you got childhood finds than his. You know it's it's. Obviously, the public spot anyone go. To real small bar beautifully appointed, you know with all the Bourbon trail. Fan When Whatnot but what's really interesting? When say you know anyone that your listeners anybody who goes in? What would you get a chance to do? Once you do go and he? You. Know you're going to meet people like Charlie you gotta be you know people like Cool more. Captain. Paul Shanahan you know all The principles of the Komo Organization. You know you could turn around and bump into Batman ended up. Chatting with them too. So it's It's it's it's an interesting spot. You. Could end up. You could end up with the season you. If if you play your cards right if You spend enough they should. That's what they should do. They should have they should have a loyalty program where. If you. If you if you buy, I don't know if you have one hundred. One hundred tipples you. Get half off of a season. I love it. I'm glad I brought it up I. I've been meaning to do that and because we got that we've got. Our our our church Philly that you. Recommend. Bread to motown and. Right. The right sire lines the I mean, that's the ascending sire. You know who? WHO's to say motown doesn't become another. NYQUIST. Store or allow Dan you know one out work. They I can see you don't know if you've noticed on the they've been advertising to motown's been. Seems to be catching a wave and he's been featured the with Tony detro-. Doing some voice overs. On the America's Day at the races shows. So they're they're committed to him. Docomo's are just incredibly popular right now because so rare for Wednesday down. On Komo who had a massive year to go to one seventy five to also had three sons. Like that you know unofficial scrap list You know quite. Quite a scene and one of the Nyquist you know he's got to grade one winners are ready. So That's phenomenal feat. It's interesting and and you know. That's what has made. We discussed it last week. That's what you know that. Kind of of story line and that over rap. That's what has made this Mcclain's music emergence So notable you know that. Younger Sire even than Than Mukomo and he's GonNa. Have you know? Already two sons that and a third son that are going to end up staying. It's crazy i. mean it it it. That you know that that the I opener. So It it. It's been. It's been a fascinating. I mean aside from the sales stuff. Everything that's been going on is just been fascinating with with you know with. The. These three four. Sets of. Of Stallion. Changes and relocations etc.. I. Said I. It's hard. It's Under the conditions. That we're. Dealing with. It's hard not to take the take this kind of thing as. As encouraging I, mean. The farms aren't they're not gonNA make these kinds of commitments. You know are continuing to be confident about about things. Yeah I mean you know it's Your. Team failed their you know. They'd be down a little. Or against team, they were down twenty percent but you know people are still invested in this game and The people divide flips before they survived the great. Recession you know You're always GONNA have. Big Economic. Downturns. And people survive things might get reshuffled the bit and. You know What not but so far The way the the market is You know people were still breathing Morse's Yup. You know and and I think also people. When you're in this when you're in this business On that side. E You, you know you look to the horizon. Attracted tracked. It's not you know you can't be you can't be tunnel visioned. You know you're you're. Looking You know down the road and and you you that that that part is really true because I can't point we have a client that Actually looking to win the remember shale to increase at nine. because. Potentially going to be a buyer's market. So, Y, you may have some people that you know can't hold on. So you've got new right with other people that are in a position to say you know what this the time to expand. and. That's you know those are those are also Factors that should be you know look that because you never know Yacky what's going to happen but. anecdotally, I can tell you that I know several people that are actually bullish on buying because of. A perceived value. We talked about that in in. Two Thousand and an eight the yeah. I mean the fact that that this you know that. I don't want to call them opportunists I. You know people people that that understand the cycles You know, saw it as a chance to go to build their operation and and this has gone on. This is not a new phenomenon obviously This is this has been true for generations at that you know the The been flow and. You know we also had. We also had Incursions from various international. Entities whether it was the Japanese point and and. British interests and you know that that. This has been going on forever and. You GotTa have the wherewithal? I, mean, obviously, the the people who are. Victims in this and and said you and I. You and I very frequently. Reference The overall. Societal themes. And it's very true here to the most vulnerable and the. Those that I don't want to call them hobbyists per se but you know the smallish. Backyard breeders and those that you know have a handful of of mayors and and you know. It's not maybe not their full time business or you know it augment. Income or how can however those people? They can suffer I mean if they're not if you're not capitalized and and you don't have the wherewithal to withstand, you know these, you know these vagaries. Those are the people that are going to are going to suffer or or are going to leave the business. But that doesn't mean that they're mayors aren't going to be absorbed into you know other operations. And That's a really good point also inept flow that. You had in the eighties of very high participation level. Crops you know with Iraq decade it's basically been between eighteen and twenty thousand folks per year You know dismay dropping Further. But what? I've seen. Is that as A those people you just referenced. Leave. and this is another societal analogy. The people whip the capitol. Have increased their stake in the game. So essentially what you have. are, people at the year people with the means controlling a greater portion of the Pie. whereas. Before you know you may have had had. You know. More. Individual involvement. You know it's it's sort of the mom and pop bookstore. appeared the chain comes in. And so you do have. A greater. Number of. capitalized entities. That are participating in the game. We we've talked about this with even with erling buying. You know you have partnerships now. Of many big players on the same more. So. It's it's that type of thing that's happened. You. Society there's there's there's not too much. Too Much We. Can't connect. From from one to the other said, it's yeah. Avoid I'll I'll avoid any other suggests or? Possibly you know guys. I like you that are participating. That that that's a great part of the game. Like you. GotTa. Mayor. To motown. you know. Hopefully you know. Hopefully we get more people you know perhaps perhaps. The the buying opportunities roar encourage even smart guy come into it. Attractive options right now well, and and there's There's a conversation to be had and frankly our our. listenership. Is As You know aside from the participants that are already participating. you know the stakeholders. There's To me. The next that next wave if it is going to if it is gonNA come. Should come from the series horse players. and. There's real potential here because. The there's A. There's already I mean look at in fact, I'll go back I brought up Marshal Graham and Klay Sanders earlier with ten strike and you know they started as. A claiming outfit and you know. Racing for fun and you know like anybody you, you know you you keep trying to upgrade your approach and and your stock. Then, you know you start buying young horses. Then you keep a few you know mayors that you can't bear to part with because they campaigned successfully for you as as a stable and next thing you know you're breathing and then you're then you're creating own breads that the the next generation well that. That same potential is out there for you know countless. Serious horse players who could easily you know if they mentally made a commitment to peel off, I don't know fifteen percent of their of their bankroll you know. Every so often. Every time. There's a nice hit in appeal off a chunk and and start a fund and the same way that some of you are putting together a pick five consortium and playing as a group do the same thing and and. Try Try. This I mean look at Billy Billy. Kacha. As with with little red feather saint thing they you know now they've got not only they breeding, but they've got pinned book operation that they've created. So there I met to I've seen a lot of guys. You know they have had higher. I've seen that they've done stuff like that. I, mean even. Twitter guys like T T P and it. These guys are gamblers, but they also tweeted about Horses Day Roan. And have experienced in you know Racing so and I saw this other guy. Then Yada John said he just bought into a year. You know it all. If you have that desire to do it Then then you know some of these guys doing and you're you're against Marshall Van. I mean they've had some great success. And with very sharp guy. You know it all depends on the inclination is there and they're in a situation obviously financially that can do it but usually what happens is And you're the continue your train of thought people actually who do it when the market comes down more words becomes more affordable. So. It'd be interesting to see you now. Again as market does come down whether it matter of fact, when you're our listeners here of Nolan tweeted the are painted she was going to look for. A mirror something in the keeneland November sale. Nice. You know. So you see how you know Sometimes Times you know people you know do take those chances when when. When you the market as being a good buying opportunity I mean that's really how everything works but. To to look to to. Look for instance at at. Just one that comes to mind with with the ten strike Is that thought, Matrix, you know who's now a seven year old gelding has made six, hundred, sixty, seven, thousand dollars. and. Was Bread is a Freud gelding out of on dot dot, which was a mayor that they campaigned and I think Marshall Marshall Bread yeah trucks than staples. That was marshals. It a sort of personal stable to begin with and You know a horse one more slide dot matrix whether you sell it for Nice money or or if you campaign it. In, training you're going to sell a two year old in training or you're in a campaign. yearling that. You know just. The. Best thing there there is there is the flip side of this and I have to I want to caution people, Aaron you Goethe who is as savvy is anybody that's involved in in the game. Aaron? Errands. Got The greatest line, of course, strikes Of family and Aaron says I believe in God I just don't want him picking out my bloodstock. Which is why he doesn't read. and. I love that line because it's like. It doesn't matter how fancy you you can. You don't necessarily know you're not necessarily going to get but it you know and then we've lost you know we've lost babies three babies in that you know. That full sleep During comes in I. Hope you're. Very very tough. So Zip, this was fabulous I. I WanNa get Dr All day in but we covered a ton between ellendale exciting partnership with Edina we'll hear from John Secure more about that and then daredevil lay abandoned and Caravaggio so. We'll talk next week then well, you gotTa, you gotta put your pedigree work to the you know you got you got fourteen breeders, Cup races. So this is this is your time to shine next week. You know boy. And sydell also shine helping you pick out does. Your broodmare band five, one, zero, four, nine, eleven eleven work thoroughbred consultants. and. Their expertise second to. None. And I appreciate it sit Fernando everybody and We'll stay right here because we're GonNa talk to Dr. all day and I. You know whatever whatever we have rip from today's. Top News Dr all days expertise, and incredibly helpful. This. Particular. Case I want him to explain. The use of Anti inflammatories and. The. The AH. Method zone. which is a legal. Therapeutic Med. But it doesn't. Just saying that doesn't. Answer all the questions just Oh, it's overreach. That's That's a simplistic. View of things. So. Casey. Reaching for. For Steve and he'll tell you what you need to know. Ed Rose is GONNA join us to a little bit. And we'll start to We'll start to. Talk about the approach I, want I want to spend time before the fields are completely assembled. The want to spend some time talking about you know organizing yourself and how to Bet Breeders Cup, Dr Steven alday joins us. Horse. Health. Today brought to you by Luba and Reborn Steve Good Morning. Steve. We reach as we've reached out to you so many times in the past. Let you. Pine. This Beta method zone. Therapeutic and non how it's. You how it's Signal I can't hear what you're saying. All right. There's some. There's some reverberations near to Casey wanted you. Want to. Get. Steve Back Yeah give him another call. That was weird. I could I could hear myself. So, we'll get I could tell something was. Steve's. Phone. If there's one. If there's one regular over the years. And a lot of times you know he's out, you know he might be in a barn he might be in a field. So. There are times when I. When I. Can understand that expect but there does seem that. When we have audio. Issues a lot of times it's sits with him. Let's try to get maybe. Stave. One second. Got Him back in the we lost him again. It must be must he you know he's Gotten No He's in. What we're seeing SISSONVILLE. Simpson I think. When if he's out if he's at his place In the countryside. But he could be anywhere. You'd never know. That's Calling Dr, all day paging Dr Alda. Wait. There's no reason to look repeat. Second time and then a third time. To him actually while we while we wait am I could give you the. The. Result yesterday from. From. Finger Lakes and you know even though even though thin white Duke. started poorly. I, thought he was vulnerable anyway but they had a terrible start. He walked out of the gate and then came running late but still got beat by half a dozen blue gator for the why coughs and Mike Maker. For to I think we'll try again save there. Yeah. A. Little better. But you still pretty muffled. Son of a gun. All right. I'll just hand it off to you. Talk About A product, like Beta, medicine. And using. Therapeutic. Anti inflammatories. Two, weeks, out. The mechanics of of what? The Vet and the trainer deals with in a case like we're seeing with Geen. Well. You know I mean. Apparently, they followed the the regulations you know according to you know. What's has been released and You know obviously they they. This system for Kentucky for New York around places and The Problem Steve is that you know when you when you see these new situations like this, you know you're GonNa you're GONNA have. You'RE GONNA have. You know the they will come up with these minute amounts of Car. Basically didn't have lots you say, White. Horse is an individual and for whatever reason discord on. Which obviously you know provides any. He properties enjoins. It's very comedies commonly used in La. Chicken used quite bakery and It just this case early it's. It has. Cheated metabolize the way. They expected or whatever. So you know I mean unfortunately it's like it's still beyond the threshold listen or to call. That test the problem and and obviously it's the IRA now and obviously you know this is all maybe a little premature to cause remember now the. Was Comeback At. So Right Sometimes, he since y'all for not the point because it's gotta come back from every sample in order to be ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED A. Test so far online is. Still talking you know in our hats here but actually We'll wait and see just what comes up to now wise occurring probably because it's have an island out. Quite right. So. Well Steve will tell. Explain. Explain. The diagnostic part of this and explain why. A trainer and a vet. Wanted using anthea Flam a Tory letelier illegal med, what you're dealing with in the horse and what the treatment represents and and why you know if you're on a schedule to try to get to a a race, you know a race is weeks away explain how that decision is made and what the trainer is dealing with in that case and what the vet is trying to help with. Actually occurred here is you know obviously they detected either in deficit or something that they felt like created like an cemetry a and or you know she showed maybe some fusion would or pressuring joint whatever and they. Evaluated the situation of physical physical exam maybe an order or. Go Away to graphically and determine that they were going to go ahead and institute into our ticket injection Most likely Heireann. Gas It, and according to steroid in combination, and this is why this is done and this is why it showed up but we're talking about two weeks out because the rules Paul Kane used to be. People used horses a awake out sometimes. Certain jurisdictions a couple of days out now, it's been backed up to fourteen days to the level of withdrawal and or the entrusts hold that would. Do Passable. We'd get through a post race examination of both serum or urine and essentially. It's it's it's it's just goes with the with the Times I mean, you know these horses are trained hard. Sometimes, they require maintenance show to keep these joints comfortable and keep them from overload another airs, and when you could potentially create breakdown or injury or permanent deficit. If you don't address it, it may be not necessary this joint but maybe you know compensatory that she was coming off getting away from this problem. So this is why do the join Jackson's essential and you know the case think that virtual for decades ten things that she came up with twenty seven according to the. Information I was given an farmland Muzak. Ritual. They have to call them. Zero tolerance on anything goes over the threshold so. This is done this is why it's detected. It just seems like it's a fairly new system disqualify that and so therefore just a situation where we really need to look. You know the the the system is a little out of kilter or maybe they're the threshold there declaring is not. Proper for you know the medication that they're looking at or testing or Maybe. The Guy got a little too much in. It's hard to say but more than likely that would be changed my problems is. Different kind of house. From the standpoint of me racing big races, the oaks is is major fixture on any three year old fillies. Didn't Steve the. What other options are out there and? This is a product Beta method zone that is. This you go with other medications adequacy on the go with a number you know you go on and on about what could be done, but the bottom line is yeah that's not what was elected here was elected to injector, and that's why they've got the problem to deal with curve on a different corker steroid gone with try and similar on. A. Night, which is bete-noire or catalog and this particular. Is a lot more predictable and in independent was a lot more consistently. So you know his own I, mean I'm not going to tell another guy practice, but it's got their way and I've got mine too obviously. But in this particular case it just you know I obviously it's coming back because the shock it's going to cost them a fair amount of purse money indoor. In all the other things that go on with that but you know Bu-. The. Stills premature. Let's just wait and see how the free sample comes back. It comes back. You know at the threshold below then you know then the. Formula, well and I and the specifics. This specific case is just I thought a good opportunity for you to explain. What the outfits this or any other outfit is dealing with you know trying to trying to treat issues. You know with the the legal meds and I'm glad that that unprompted you brought up something that I said early in the show and I. Hated your visit which is. Why we we've pushed the use of any therapeutics, we've pushed them further and further away from race day and. You brought up a great point that you know, forty eight hours than seventy two, then seven days now fourteen days, and so it's you know you're you're the methodology of of dealing with. With a with a horse and and getting them to A. Tour an assignment. Keeps changing, but and evolving and everybody has to deal with that. I mean that's just that's part of. That's part of. Playing by the rules and? You know. That that element though the public should appreciate you know that there's less and less. There's less and less going into chuck. Simon. Said this yesterday there's less and less actually going into the ors. That's Most definitely I mean, you know you look you're getting a pure product. You know you're getting a true expression in a good thing from the standpoint that you know you're you're probably getting better expression to the actual genetics and it probably helps set the breeding game a long run probably. The better horses with the better pedigrees are probably winning better. Race is not a good thing because that way you can perpetuate the best. Gone To. I appreciate it. Steve I. Wanted I wanted to slip this today and Because people. Yes, most definitely because they'll mainly see, but you said, you know I officer moving target that's problematic for the end user, and the second thing is, is that you know you you the more cases you have the more number you have in buying the better statistical amounts. She should have a what you mean. You know look at is or how far you need to look at what medications need to look at for the withdrawal period. You're saying you don't get. You don't have these kind of post race problems since we. Dr Steven All Day horse help today brought to you by Lewiston and reborn visit Lou verson Elliott B. R. I S. Y. N. Dot Com and the all day dot com where. And and singer help you with Your Sport Horse Your Pleasure Horse you're. Whatever it might be Steve Always. Appreciate it. Thank you buddy. You got. Dr Steven All day and Steve's on twitter four legs dock. tweets little bit. I think the LEWISTON team tweets more than than Steve, once in a while. Once in a while he'll. He'll send up a flare. Or shot across the bow. So that we're going to stay here because we got much to do. We got fifty minutes and Ed to rose is going to join us and then Nick Zito. zito appearance. Always Great. So let let nick talk he's had. You know he's had his share of. He's had to think he's got to. To Breeders Cup wins. Storm. Song. She won she won A. Juvenile fillies for Nick. But he's had you know he's he's had a few dozen tries and has had a lot of board hits at and tomorrow, Kirin? McLaughlin. Will be a lot of fun because Kirin a Garin also had a ton. Over the years he had a I got a I. Think I wrote it down somewhere. He had in in vizor obviously low dude and DEMARCO's I mentioned earlier but he had I bet you another six or seven near misses. A Knicks add. Share as well. Nick two wins, four seconds and five thirds in the cop tough to win and Ed Rosa is. Going to. Help discuss. How you win how you approach the Breeders Cup Ed Good Morning. Good Morning. Coming on A. Really is, and this is a good time as we wait for tomorrow's pre-entry announcement, and then we can start to at least for you know the the fields that will not be. You know. Undefined the they'll be a few races where they'll be cross entries and you know we'll have to get some feel on the decisions. The leans but it's a good opportunity to just think about. The manner in which you approach the cop and I I do this every year the week out it's always. Fun To survey people talk about your general approach maybe how it's evolved over the years as the event has expanded the others. There's more you know in race choices there's more others today day there's multi-race. There's so many different ways to approach it talk a little bit about your. Your Breeders, Cup vetting philosophies. I think Somewhat. cliche about another day at the races. But from a handicap in perspective especially knowing you're getting two full days great ray things top to bottom both days you know I do think it's OK where my strongest opinions were my weakest opinions and how do I could you know? Strap the most value out of the former and avoid the mind of the ladder, and for me just thinking back as a as a young player I think one of my my bigger mistakes back when. I was okay. I, you know have X. Tibet and Aminu bad. You know this much on each race or this much on each pick three and obviously that's not an appropriate use of your bankroll not all opinions of the same and You know we have the luxury. Of. The Breeders Cup of being able to look at these races you know really for for weeks ahead of time and we've got the contender PP's out for a while now but the pre entries help us. Focus a little clear, and then the final PP's next week fully into focus where we wanNA take our stand. But for me, that's what you know again, any day at the races I think you want to make sure you know strong opinions our but especially, Breeders Cup where we have it's apparent mutual gain and a lot of opinions out there listening to your show obviously social media reading brisk net reading the competition it's important I. Think to now where people are gravitating and if you have an opinion that's against that, that's usually a good opportunity. So eagerly awaiting my first thought of man everyone thinks this is great I don't like that one at all that might be an opportunity or vice versa You know you're on a horse that people tell you can't win I'm surprised that seems like by my standard still flying under the radar and you know. If he is likely winner of that race of course not but it fifteen or twenty to one. You know maybe that's the horse you can. You can do a whole whole day's wages around trying to get in the number. So those are the things I'm thinking about. And there's a few. There's a few things to riff off of that and a lot of it It gets into the you know. The bankroll management you know especially, if you know, you know you are going to have a limited bankroll and limited limited for some people might be you know twenty, five hundred and some others might be two, hundred fifty and for others literally might be you know seventy five to one hundred dollars for the two days and and they have to be. Very austere but you you WanNa make it count and so applying your leverage to your. Specific situation is a big part of this and. There's you know there's any number of. Of of advisable. I would say mental approaches and one of the things I always talk about is that you know. It's two days and really the Saturday being the key. It's only gonNA take one hit It's only gonNA take. You. Know One. Opinion successfully executed to make the weekend. And I and if it if it happens to come in the classic I, bring this up. All the time we were walking out. Tina was with me. In fact, we were walking out for the classic and I'd had. Keratin Day. and. It just happened that. I made a decision with like literally seven minutes, the Post that I was going to. Key. Off Of Fort Larne it. I love the way Fort Leonard looked going to the you going on the track and I ended up. Hitting the try and making the whole weekend There I think the keeneland going back to the keeneland. The first for. Day Hit A. Pick four on Friday for thirty six hundred and you know in and then Kinda coasted and gave some back and did not have much of a Saturday it. It doesn't matter where you do it it it just You. You can be patient and and hit your spot. And it's going to make the weekend You can't. You know you can't. Get down on yourself if you don't hit your first three bets of the of the two days. That's right. Yeah. I would encourage people in. Some ways to supplies to any day of racing as well. But you know with the Breeders Cup and some confidence in the big pools and and things aren't going to get zapped in the final minute You know the the wind pool definitely comes into play for me on the bigger a and that you know to bring up computer players as Boogie man I'm cognizant that the odds you see it two or three minutes to post on a Tuesday at Mahoning or likely not going to be the final odds when they spring the latch there even at at Churchill or IRA, but I'm breeders, Cup. Day I. Think you know with all the chatter and you get a sense of how the markets reacting and we'll react you know there are some opportunities where you can feel confident. You're going to get the price you want on a horseshoe like and don't don't squander those opportunities with lesser opinions and sometimes there's ways to make your strong opinion on a horse who can win work and exotic wagering and other times. Maybe those are the races around it that you've identified as you're not is comfortable with and don't have a strong opinion and you know hundred win at ten to one thousand dollars. You can spend that same hundred on a pick three that either pay nothing or pays less than that. So. Always be mindful especially with your singles of of what you would be guaranteed to get the win pool if you hit. Freely I've suggested for years especially as the with the with the denominations. Lowering, the fifty cents rise in the vison threes. If you. are a pick four player. Cutback one you know one race and play pick threes if you're a a pick three player. You may want to. Cut back and play doubles. Because the you know the exponential risk and and grant granted the exponential reward of hitting the bats the bigger. Speak for themselves but. The payoffs are are so. Typically. Inflated Breeders Cup that you can. Heal offset that you. You don't you don't have to not every single bet has to be. A Grand Slam walk off home? Run. And Decreasing the level of difficulty by dialing back. One Layer. If. You're if you're a super player back it up tries if you're try player backed up to exact us I mean I. I have made that suggestion repeatedly over the years at. I you know myself. I try to I try to be conscious especially if you're you're feeling like you don't have. You know you don't. You don't have as good a feel in some of the legs and particularly if you think there's you know five six wind candidates in a spot and you know as opposed to as opposed to Monday through Sunday. It, there's going to be racist. You'RE GONNA look at and say I mean there's six or seven horses that can legitimately win and so what does that do to your multi-race approach? And I think to even if you. Are. Typically a pick four, pick five player as I am I mean I you know I'm guilty anyone that thought chasing the big payoff and you know the the ego boost is well I. had it definitely more in play with the pick five, pick three but. You know as you're looking through a sequence, you may find man this seems really logical. What am I adding in terms of using the favorite in the fourth leg of a pick four verses? Playing the pick three maybe for a dollar instead of fifty cents. Or just thinking of those options is while like, okay. Here's my pick five. Here's what it's GonNa cost I'm you know maybe you're comfortable that you love the ticket fine. But there are times when I'm looking I'm like man I have the checking and and third choice and three hundred, the five legs and you know is is the pick three the better opportunity to you know really make score it's not as sexy to do that per se but I think a lot of times we. We cost ourselves. equity by you know playing extra legs where that's not where strongest opinions are. The. It's obviously early to start. Digging in and and and. Having a feel for who you're a you may lean on. But certainly, if we use last year for instance as as an example I mean there there were no shortage of players that absolutely. Just figured that that bricks and mortar couldn't lose and the that was there. You know that was their late Saturday single and. You got a little Lucky v, the that that could have gotten. A God, no I I can't even imagine the numbers. You know how they they would've is sort. If United Hangs on but you know that that is the example that you you for. You know that kind of opinion I I talked about it. It's thirteen years ago today that we had the MONMOUTH. Breeders Cup and for a midnight lewd was a horse, both years Groupie doll a horse, both years that I I just I didn't think would lose. And that's where you make your stand and then you feather out from there. I think it's been awhile. I can't think the last time I really felt Shraga Sister Charlie two years ago But yeah, I mean you're you have a few of those and and they don't always come in obviously but I. Think my strongest opinion last year Steve Actually was I was against midnight zoo and made the most of Blue Prize be in my top pick and unfortunately I did have a pick for going united be no Rosa so I've I've thought a few times about what that may come back. Racing I've been on the other side of it too. So When it comes out in the Washer ahead. Yeah, and I think that's a good point to You know about flu prize she wasn't necessarily my most likely winner on the day. I would say probably bricks and mortar who I I did have singled on a fair share of tickets but because blue prize one was able to to stretch a little bit in the turf. But sometimes I think it can be valuable to have that strong opinion of of what favorite is GonNa be and I know for some if they're really. Going to believe in the numbers that might be princess nor and Friday in the juvenile fillies you know monoploy girl could be one people are against. They might have a strong opinion with skydiver. She chooses go in the dispatch fast you know so to me that strong opinion doesn't always have to be at most likely winner and I would actually discourage people if you have the same most likely winners everyone else fine. But this probably less value in that unless you have A. Another opinion to go with it against the favorite So hopefully, we'll find some vulnerable favorites too because to me that's just as important as finding the the ones you like to win. that. That's well that's Point well taken. And the the vulnerable favorite side of it to me feels more like a like a an in-race. Opportunity. Because even even a potential vulnerable favorite is probably GONNA make their way onto at least a backup ticket right when it comes to the Maltese. Yes, especially, if you like price where I mean that's something you know that's where I think the ABC method comes in handy is is not necessarily just you know putting you know what? I would say the grid or Chris would say ABC's not just always happening that and saying, okay I can have you know three as gonNa be Etcetera Etcetera I think to me about okay. Fifty dollars into a sequence of chalks out So I'm always looking to play those kinds of tickets, but it's the same time if I think. Yeah the CAN win. It's two one value in the wind pool maybe not but it's probably value if you hook it up with a separator horse like by my standards might be. Still and Just looking I as we're talking I pulled up I pulled up year. and. 'cause I I. Yeah I I had made bricks and mortar. Thought I had. Yeah I had singled bricks and mortar. In the In, the pick for the pick five. and. And actually hit. A pick four actually hit on a backup ticket. with Blue Prizes the sea. And I mean you know look at it last year I mean the the tough horse the horse was blue prize who you nailed because it went the pick five went Matali Blue Prize bricks and mortar Vino Rosso. Yeah, prize was the. Biggest price there. Everybody else is going to be on your ticket I mean Matali obviously I mean the right and and. Certainly. Odi. Bricks and mortar. Rosa the pick four paid four forty. And I forget what the pick five paid. but. That's another I also recommend an anti certainly. Got Me doing this three weeks ago. When we started talking about the the keeneland. Breeders Cup at and. Get it going back and looking at. Uh. Go back and look. At the charts and Dig through. Y- at this point this is what Breeders Cup thirty. Eight. Thirty seven, thirty, seven to thirty, eight dance, and then range and There's there's certain themes I mean including including some that are inexplicable like the juvenile turf races how how? The euro invaders. Win The the boys race and they can't win the girls race. It's it's the craziest thing I. IT makes no sense. That is bizarre but. Interesting yeah it it's you know there's certain things that you know that the cup is has managed to you know at this point as managed to you know certain themes that Become you know become pretty regular but I I would think you know because of. Because of the late nature I mean obviously, we're worried about the way the turf is GonNa play. And you know how much more weather we're going to get between now and next week but. You know. Having a feel for what went on Keeneland four years ago. Is probably going to you know probably serves you pretty well. in terms of shorter term sample and I'm I'm inclined to think. Maybe more anomaly because. Six and a half and seven for a long. This was not an issue but the rail was over thirty nine going six for long fifteen months in October. The rail was over thirty nine. Oh. That's right. That's right. That's right. Fix furlongs. I I do have one Breeders Cup at I've already placed a friend in Canada got me down. Tell me. I have a wind parlay sister traveling by my standards three, hundred, thirty, seven to one. Way listed where do where? What. How is that? How is that place? one candidate they they have access to I. Don't know if this was caddy power what. But one of. The They're allowed to use the you know the European books. Okay. So just you know the beauty at twitter at a buddy up there I know likes to get down on some futures and I just nice. Noticed that odds checker prices I was comfortable with and. Instead of Beckenham individually I figure after ten bucks I can. Cover my day if they both went. Very cool. I. Like. Well, we're going to do more of this as we get closer of course and Heddon, they'll get Ed James and. The. The full, the full frontal assault next week. yeah. I I. Right? Yes. It's funny. I my inclination I I've been set. And I I was wavering a few weeks ago and then I sort of made a mental commitment and then over the last twenty, four hours I've I've suddenly. Suddenly gotten a little. IFFY. Again. But I I expect so. The team has got to get rid of me for. It's The Results Tuesday have any sway on your decision. No not not You know not not. Not unless know somebody's planning overturning my car an setting it on fire. That's more likely if you K-. Wins the game then. That's just couches. I thought. Well. We'll see I I. MY I got I'm book actually I paid for paid for a room so I'm I'm. kind of locked in but Committed as they say. Good job. Couple of quick hits about the weekend and an opening day Sunday. Yeah. It was actually a good day hopefully exercising some demons from a great. September. meet at Churchill. But I, I like Kenny's horse who ran off the screen camp hope attend to one. So that that was a good one to have I'm not sure what the deal is with coach you know the the owner and the winner circle. After the race Ricky Byrd said, they thought about abuse sorts for a tag and I know after the debut which themed decent you know they were still like we're not sure that race was much meant she ran off the screen again and then she wins a stakes race You Know Tartu imagine a Brad Cox two year old who won its? First two career races by fourteen combined fourteen lengths. wasn't odds-on interstates debut but you know we'll we'll see she must not be a morning glory because you know it was hard to hear too much positive but that was exciting and I thought a good start to the made. It was great to see fans Churchill from what I saw was very strict about enforcing. The regulations to keep people say so I felt good about being there and just over. Always Great. To See Butts in the seats and getting out of the seats to cheer their horses on stage now that's yeah. That part of it it. It's amazing. Even just watching it and hearing people and seeing you know seeing movement and activity is just. Realize how much you miss it. Saratoga Saratoga season was just so you know. It's kind of empty Being. There was nice but it just didn't have it just doesn't. Not, the same, it's just not the same. I do have a pick for Wednesday go ahead. race number six, fifty, thousand claimer I like number six, noman eight to one on the morning line the the person net rating fix up with this group hoping that you know people are kind of thrown off by the new. Mexico form I love to know the story how the source ended up ship in Eastern Kentucky to be, in Brendan's Barn and they throw in for tag right off the rip but I think we're going to get the right price with those running lines to take a shot at this one can can run back to a couple of good races in New Mexico. Nice. They've had Race actually I just you know just looking at entries and and so forth but The. Racing. I mean the fields have been feel sizes been good. Yeah Ten races as well. One thing. Thursday so you know robust cards and I would definitely planned for off the turf though for those. You gotTA start wondering. Yes. Well. Six race tomorrow and three, thirty, six, eastern and Ed, I, appreciate it This is great and we'll do more of it, and then we'll start to zero in next week with with you and James, and of course, the full complement of. Material and information and reports and. the. Coming. From. The, prisoner team. and Twin spires. Ed thanks a lot. My pleasure. We're going to stay here because nick, Zito is standing by and I knew this morning when I saw that it was exactly thirteen years ago today that we were all at Monmouth Park I don't care how much rain came down. It was still great and it was it was a terrific cup. Despite everything and part of it was nick winning with war passage joins us now nick of Morton. Morning. Mr Steve Great Show today I had I got lucky a little bit of I got out for a little while in You had some great guests on all days. Amazing. And Hid Fernando's amazing and I've been listening. So I did good today you had a great show. Thank you. Well, these these are fun. You know yesterday with Meg and we talked about his his win as a writer and also has i. which came for Tommy skipping ten and eighty five. Talk about your, you know the way you viewed the. The Cup. When it when it was instituted and how you you know how you started to gear? Opportunities horses toward it. Well. We're fortunate. As you know, we had a lot of great horses and. I think you know comes to mind you know thirty six reds was very interesting, and then we'll go back to pass thirty six. Nineteen ninety. So you go way back and It was very interesting because. He had run second the in. Derby died waited for the Belmont runs second. And I'm bridal was four. We were second took some island going to come over here right and and beat us. But it was really interesting Dr all day and you were talking about medications whatever you look Steve I'm pretty sure in the Belmont. We beat them bridal. He had no lasix because we didn't have and he couldn't use any New York it's a time. And then The cup. Unbridled did beat us. It was an inexperienced jockey. You get a kick out of this everybody will. Name was Mike Smith. I. Said Mikey. Is Really. Is really dead today. Favorite cycle more to come home you can stay right on rail. In Bay and bridal beat him but he was tough. You know he fought. All the around. I don't know if he was going to beat them but I mean. Mike was on and he gave us a good. So from then. I think we started to. Build off the nineties went on. Then Steve. Ninety six is you brought up that was a good one because we had storm Song I. Love that Jazz One to. Add except acceptable for General George George Steinbrenner Steinbrenner. He had got be Mac, and then Louis could tell us At the time of the world's richest race got beat knows. Alphabet Soup and Cigar was third I was in Canada. Sort of copped was always on my mind. And then. Walk Passes. Cop was just spectacular because I run into a smooth and the day and. A Nice horse that he's got his funeral, I said not Steve. Kinda reminds you walk. She says, yeah, I know you beat me three times three times twice with pyro and once Kodiak Cowboy Got Jackie's worry reminds me of. pestle because undoubtably he was the best year old. Watch Steve is you know horses he came up with some problems as old then. I look at that would memorial. They used the rabbit to run with him and it's the first time rabbit was out run. Actually pass ranch faster than the rabbit and just got beat up the wire. But he was a great but does was breeders. Cup was just tremendous. I think what happens is if you are in position. And I made one mistake you'll this team this going to start him. I. Did make a mistake. I'll tell you what it was. It had it. What's called Greenwood Lake. On the Champagne. And remember the nonsense with said Oh. You know which is all true at the time. You can't win the Derby if you. If you win the Breeders Cup two year old and and that right and you had an fly, you know I'm gonNA waited. I'll be. So that's an across myself, Chiro Championship because. Forces that wanted. We had destroyed. You know what? I mean and I didn't I just felt like, well, let's get and it didn't work out because he came back as a trae rollers as usual. So I think the Breeders Cup is really really really beneficial for anybody that can run and it should it because you never know what happens if very next year but any of the horses whether it's a two, zero, three, zero, it's. Anything better off if you have a chance, you should participate for sure because the great opportunity. He had the refresh everybody's memory i. mean he really burst on the scene with with the debut fairly early in the meet at Saratoga. Your good friend Andy. You Sat, in a box me, we couldn't believe it because I told everybody I loved this horse and I'll tell you it starring real quick after that leading up to so. Tiny rodent looking on the board seven to one. So wait a second. I don't even know who is in you would know but he won first time out and for us that was great because we don't usually squeeze him but. You know you couldn't name my first time stars role stakes winning their won first time out. And walk passes just brand came back if you can believe it. Take you one other that they don't have those. Allowance. Yeah, they don't have them more. You have to run a mistake. They don't have them anymore. If you break your main running the state, you don't run into one very, very risky especially in New, York? But anyway. He did that then he wanted to champagne and then he was just tremendous in the Breeders Cup he was just tremendous. So here's a wonderful thing. Everybody was happy you know missile defense and Bob was. Happy at his crew and we all happy. It was just a wonderful day. Jimmy Islam was there and he got into, you know his dad was instrumental with. Two years. It was. It was a cool thing and you know Lincoln, my good friend. Good. It was a lot of good memories that thank you for bringing them on so I love your show. That's the thing about it is but predeceased cough debris. It's it's it's in itself because all the races. The triple crown, which as you know, there's nothing like the Derby, the preakness Belmont one is run the right way but. The Breeders Cup brings all those races so for the actual as you point out. Fan or racing fan. It's probably his biggest day. You Know I. Think you know what I'm saying I think his biggest. Old. Visions. All divisions and you could tell who could be champion, who could be not champion and Is Very very interesting and It's a good thing I mean it's a good thing. Good thing years ago. They didn't have the Breeders Cup and Breeders Cup took a lot of emphasis away from these famous races. Yes we used to have. And some people you know historians I mean. People have. Broken. This game is still. kind of upset about that. It took a lot of way but on the other hand. Look of the attention avoid publicity and slowly you know all the action basically so. It's a good thing. I like to see you know what I love to see. Thrilling races I mean or an exceptional I hope that The two year old Jackie's were. I hope he keeps going because he reminds me of war cast my. Office obviously got a nice loss. There's a lot of Nice losses in have but. I like to see that, and then the other thing that Breeders Cup brings to. Look at Whitmore what is he seven? Now? He's seven I think. More, running. So. Isn't that wonderful that you got horses like that in Scranton everything so You, got the Europeans whatever. Stephen. Learning, philosophy and listen to you I'm telling you you. The Dick Powell Hong Kong I. got it up. We're going to listen we're going to listen to war passes. Breeders Cup Juvenile Win just just to give everybody the the field as nick mentioned corey. Nakatani gets them home at seven to one in Saratoga the end of July July twenty eighth and in in there. Actually I and I don't this amazes me. I did not remember that's lose Tis now. It was also his debut Joel Lacomb and. Pat Bian Koen was training for Joola Calm I. Always think of them, sloughs tizzy, and sluice. Think of them as west coast but Sloughs Tis now debuted at Saratoga in this race The favourite was was Rick Violet and Seth Carmen and Bill Lawrence with globalization I remember that because he ran into Breeders Cup. and. Mount Zion. Had commandeered who was second to you at a big price to this was This was a nice mutual fifteen, eighty, two, win and fifteen, forty two to place the exact. The paid to eighty eight for two bucks. Sixteen. But whatever well then. I'm sure Then the allowance when you mentioned and that's where you met Pyro the first time, and then listen to this field in the champagne war pass. And you did not go favored, which is, which is interesting majestic warrior. was was favored. That's Kins. That's that's. And Steinbrenner. War Pass Beats Pyro Z., Humor Lantana. Mob Silver Edition Majestic Warrior, Anna Kim and readies image that was. A. Very Nice Champagne and you still pay eleven twenty and that sets up this breeders. Cup where this time you argo favored. That's like the greatest Frank Sinatra Melody ever heard him. For playing against, I didn't realize he said and the champion Walk Paso. That's true. Because once you go over that line, you're definitely the chat especially if you're on the feed itself. Back on a couple of a couple of follow ups off of this and. Number, one gotta figure in Cornelio Velasquez who is under appreciated for the career that he had and people may not. Know. This At a top of their head. Cornelio Velasquez. One Five Breeders Cup races in his career. He won the sprint with Cajun beat for Sativa and Joe Arcane a one the the Utah upset pleasant home for for Shug in the distaff. KIP Deville. The same same day you know later in the card. For Rick, throw and then for you and then came back and won the marathon for Butch Reed. With a fleet again, five Breeders Cup wins and he came within a couple of jumps of winning a derby when closing argument like winter very late in that over five Derby, how they talk about Cornelio and also about the wet track how concerned were you about the way? The rain kept coming down. You know everybody's could you first of all, Canarias obviously unappreciated like you said, he was a work type job. I loved the way Reid. He'd try all the time sometimes too hard. I think. I mean, no disrespect. I just think that you know he would overdo it sometimes, but he was such an aggressive right but he was really great. Like you say, just a number appreciate rider. And the wet track. I think will pass a speed I was just worried about sometimes. You know you never know what foot? Those which way when they leave the gate. So that was my main concern, but once he got going. And he got on cruise control he was. He was I, WanNa. Tell you real quick. What Barbara Livingston's got shot it was unbelievable. You'll love this time really love this. So it was a five at Saratoga and you know where I parked my truck at as Paul there and Sarah on training track you know where it is so so I said to Max when you break off 'cause we couldn't see it. It was all fog but I had to work and was a Howard tracking foggy. I said just go. So she went right I timed it and Barbara Livingston I looked at the clock and I said Holy Cow. It was like unbelievable. If you know I mean the classes couldn't catch him but I, I did it from her voice. Breaking off at the half-mile Pole, and then I was right near the wire. So it was cool and you know he did something like human. He was he was he was easily the best here. And again, it was really sad you know he had gone to push the farage had gotten him and he had gone to I think Australia came back and he had to stop off the San Francisco whether it was hot. It got back home to Kentucky. A lot of snow and? Something happens out in the field of softening just you know one. Of semi felt so good something and I think his first crop CB had some very wants to you and all right. First Crop. I think he had. Pets, at some horses in the Kentucky Derby I'm pretty sure. Now. That I forgot. I, forgot how premature? Tremendous but but as far as bringing of a two year old. He was unbelievable. He he's got to be one of the best other than I'm Brian Song. I, hadn't the end of his career. I don't think ability wise I, mean I, love that. So many great ones that find pointed out. But ability wanted to me I don't want to sound like. All of us you know. All. The time. Sometimes you get drunk woody. This wasn't could've started because you'd have to have a drink on the second floor. Jerry. What's his name Jerry back to? I mean, it was unbelievable those days but I can tell you this much. He had as much ability other than a bridal song sheer ability. Anywhere else I had my hands and I had some great ones maybe even better but. Ability. You know what? I'm talking about just town. Just ten. Town? Yes. What's A nick as part of the as part of these cup moments and we had the conversation yesterday with with Megan Tomorrow Caring McLaughlin going to join us. We mentioned storm. Song. But of the of the runner up performances, acceptable Luik tours love that jazz in the juvenile fillies and morning line who who, who the field probably or maybe even somebody else who the field. If they had run it a few times you would have won. Many that hurts as Louis concerns he got stopped cold looking at stop. Awesome frontmen. Pat Day. Long shot. Probably, cost him. And I also think morning line you could believe it again I'm not mistaken look at the one horse. Again, enough incoming jockey two, thousand, ten, it was. Joel Rosario. Havi had to do all the dirty work with thirty work with money line and just got nailed of the last. The last jumper probably. Louis was the most ample because you beat cigar and he was been you know. I don't know who the three year old champion was get won the preakness but certainly, Louis would have been the year old champion I think if you had one that. So. That's probably the most painful is a lot of them, but you're right there's a lot of I'm sure. So I think in his is quite a few more you'll look at the record, but I'll tell you tough beat I had you don't believe. I had this I wonder inboard. McLaughlin would invite. You beat me in a chemical spat was really upset that day. Danny beat me but sung king in the Whitney. I remember that I. Remember that I'm I'm nick. I'm GonNa tweet that I'm going to rat went out.
