"sweet home alabama" Discussed on Airline Pilot Guy - Aviation Podcast

"Anyway, checkout sweet home Alabama, and you'll hear the the town of muscle shoals mentioned which is on its it's nicely situated on the Tennessee river. But don't be confused. It's not in Tennessee. It's in Alabama. Before we before we go on. Can I make a correction asked about whatever hush kits dot net was fairly it is just an aviation related. Oh site because the noisy jet engines. Yes. That does make sense thinking of something else. Similar to knows their tagline is the alternative aviation magazine. You very good. I'll have to check it out that. Hey, no problem. Hey, we mentioned them several times. So I'm sure they'll fishy at that. Finally, we have this feedback from young Gabriel. Hi, captain, Jeff in the rest of the team. It's Gabriel here. Referred to in chat as solar-car. And I think I did see that name in the Z still there. Here. Okay. Excellent. I've been listening recently, I've been listening to ABC for quite a while now and actually have written to you a few times already not thinking, I don't remember getting anything from Gabriel turns out, I was not supposed to send it directly from the website. Okay. So apparently, however he was trying to send it to us. We never got it. Well, I'm writing to you. Now, I have a few questions number one. I've just started ground school to get my R P P is at recreational pilot permit. Yes. I believe he is in Canada. Okay. Our PP is maybe like a sport. Okay. I'm not going to say my exact age for security reasons. But let's just say that I'm under the age to acquire the actual permit. Anyway, this is the start. Do you have any suggestions? For example. What should I be certain to take notes on? What can I do to improve my learning experience? It's tra- any tips Steph. Yeah. So if you've got some time before you can actually get in should be able to get flight experience, at least in the United States, you'd be able to fly with an instructor just age requirements on actually age limitations on actually getting your certificate or being able to take your check ride, however, Antezana and things like that. But I'd say, you know, it's great interest already so can as much as you can from ground school. This is all practice and actually it's a hands on skill. So as much time you can spend getting hours and getting instruction. Make sure you have an instructor that you get along with and who you feel like you're able to work well with I think those are the most important things in the rest of just repetition practice, and what should I be certain to take notes on? That's a everything. I don't know. No. I mean, you want to have the requisite knowledge to. There's two kinds of knowledge. I think anytime you're learning something there's knowledge to pass a test, which is one thing is good and should encompass the stuff that you need to know to safely operate an aircraft to fly safely theory systems, all that type of stuff, but make sure that you the stuff that like I said, it's just that important for safe operation of the aircraft. You're flying solid theory fundamentals of flight most of that you're going to get in the aircraft. The rest of it is stuff that's important for operating environments that you're in specific to airports regulations about where you can fly and might be specific to the country that you're in. Oh, I have something some advice when you're actually flying at the controls. Don't take notes because that's a bad time. Airplane will probably go out of control. Be what does act me airlines stand for ask Mr. Google? You don't have not met Mr. Google Google yet. And he didn't seem to know all the came up was Alaska air is that acne? No gabriel. It's not act. It's not Alaska as not American, and it's a virtual airline. That is not real. But I am I do fly for a real airline. So go to go ask Mr. Google m d dash eight eight and then put in the word, Atlanta and see what the results are. Now, not done that myself. Let's see what happens when I do that. That doesn't go to something questionable. Yeah. Okay. Let's see D eight and gonna. And let's has the right answer, Mr. Google. Yes. How's the answer the top results that is the airline? I fly four..

"Imagine why black I well. What happened was forget this house, scared a guy who's with Ryan russillo. Oh, you're the best. Here's something to kind of baffling. Apparently the timber wolves were working on a deal with the rockets and the Timberwolves asked for Eric, Gordon, PJ Tucker, and some mix of draft picks. If you were the rockets, would you trade Gordon Tucker and a couple of picks or a pick four, Jimmy Butler. My first instinct is just to say yes, because of where your windows that with Paul and and not in Martin's old. But I mean, Chris, Paul, even though I love them, you go, okay, look, we bring in Butler. We hate with this contract is going to be for Jimmy Butler year, thirty five. I mean, we're talking like forty million a year. I'm not sure I want to do that with any team, but you're, you're not worrying about that. You worry about these next two years and on paper, whatever the picks ended up being welded from protection. Let's say it's it's sort of neutral and not some absurd unprotected thing down the road. The real hang up in. This isn't Gordon or the picks. It said PJ Tucker for them is important, especially the way they go small and PJ can defend such bigger players. I'd still probably do it, but I'd be worried after losing Reza. Also losing guy like PG. I think it's fair to like one of the reasons they were so much better on defense last year because of bamboo, Aretha in PJ Tucker. And if you remove all of them, you start to have struggled defensively. But I do like this Clin cappella Carmelo, Anthony, Jimmy Butler, Chris, Paul, James heart, like that's a team of five that I could see going up against the warriors boogie or no, boogie however you are going to give real minutes to Michael Carter Williams and jailed green, and that's the part the kinds like if you start forecasting the glue with great five, but it's a police bench so much that you're relying on Mike occur Williams to do real basketball things in games. Yeah. I mean, they got a couple of other question marks at the end of the bench, and they'd probably have shorter rotation. Unless they. So I think the biggest thing for the rockets really is just trying to find a way to recapture the drive that they had last year. I, I don't know motion if they'll come back from that. You think all those guys, you know for the first two moutain a reason moving on what they did is they mimicked Golden State's been doing all these teams are trying to do like position players like size players. So you just switch all this stuff with the way people running their offense. So I'm not writing them off whatsoever, but even though I don't like the Butler Bill farthing seems to want to trade for Jimmy Butler. There's a part of me. It's like if I really want to trade for a hundred and ninety million dollar Bill here, if I have is right. I think that's what everybody looks over is like either trading. You're not just trading for Jimmy Butler, like train for Jimmy Butler Etta max deal, or you're just renting him in there while you just rent him from one season. Yeah, I think Houston if they look at that being the price tag because I look Eric, Orense been terrific. Eric Gordon in that system is the best version of Eric Gordon. There's wide open shots. They, they have it down to a t, he hits them his drives, right? I'm getting some. There's it's time for news matters. I'm hearing that on a flight from Orlando to Cleveland. Woman was kicked off the plane because she brought an emotional support, squirrel, and it delayed them three hours. Would that make you angry. This is ridiculous. Notice fake the scoreless fake. And so are you. I wanna thank Marc speier's for coming by and also wanna thank ryen russillo for coming back again. I think we should just we should just have a little Asterix at the end of Jalen Jacoby and then at the bottom and find principle, say an russillo sometimes. Are you cool with that? Or is that we to bump up your pay your contracts. Yeah. We'll talk to your everybody. Make sure that you call nine five, eight zero Jalen leaves cultural original questions. We're going to do a cultural regional segment with Jalen.

"That's fair. So so you know, judge a travel and basketball. Did it look awkward? That's kind of how it works nowadays? Was it awkward? And if we're gonna start, nitpicking travels. The one that bothers me is when you catch the ball and then pivot four times before you even get into a three point stance, the non me more than the step back. That's the travel call because it doesn't benefit anybody. I'm not miserable freak out about a travel. If you're starting to tweet about the NBA, never calls traveling again, that means you love sacrifice. You know, you're mad pitchers. Don't throw a hundred forty pitches anymore. Like I'm out, I'm out. I don't travelling, doesn't bother me. Hardened bothers me. Hardened bothers you. Yeah, he's great player. Great player, but he I've never seen. No player of his generation that has benefited more from the ways officiate and James heart. I think that's fair to say, but it's not hardens fault. These really good. You're right. You're right. But making people found him like he's not dominating the game by his pure athleticism. He's kind of outsmart the game. It's it's not as fun to watch, but you have to respect him for there are more solo russillo couch, freak outs for for hardened possessions than anybody in the league for an entire personal stat, solo Priscilla count, free, Coutts purpose, see Fs, SRC s and here's our CF throughout the that's my coach. That's my guy. He was my Houston's every game. You know, he wasn't a real hands on coach apply. Fairly Phil, Jackson type. Yeah, right. He wanted us to figure it out me and Bieber. Kevin Hart. Joe flacco 's wife gave him some coaching. Keep moving her, hit the brakes. Go ahead. Keeping moving book mover to you on that one. Trae young did something good in a basketball game. Keep moving to hit the brakes. Hit the brakes. Guys get beat up on a ton hits a deep game winter, and you know what? Good for him. He's going to get a ton of shots. I know that he's gonna get a ton of shots, and this is gonna is that here's the thing, it's at Georgia Tech. So it's kind of in front of the home crowd, and he's now become a sympathetic figure because everyone is just saying the Atlanta Hawks traded Luca Donncha essentially four trae young and you and I did the draft together and we were both just astonished disgusted by this move. And now everyone's just waiting for trae young to fail and loving Luca Danni and now he's become a sympathetic figure. I'm rooting harder for trae young success. Then Luca Danni success. But just because of the way the world has turned on him, do you feel the same way?.

"There's a lot of topics in sports pop culture that just aren't worth talking about. So we made up a game called, keep moving. We've able keep books. So Ryan. If you want to talk about it, you say, hit the brakes. If you don't meet you in meth, man, just keep it moving. Are you ready? Forbes came out with a list of the most richest college football programs keeping moving hit the brakes. I was told in the pre show meeting that we were cutting this from the show, so I didn't read anything on it would Texas is worth a lot. Let's keep moving. We keep it right there. Joel Embiid signed a deal with Under Armour reportedly keeping moving their hit. The brakes hit the brakes on and bead is probably what is popular as anybody other than LeBron social media underarms had this weird run last couple years, not to go stock price on you and lucky they've gotten the hit on Steph. They've had Brady than Cam. Newton has MVP season even Jordan speed price heart. They have a great roster. So it's not just about the roster endorsing your brand? I'd be great. I love to see under armor. Have a little comeback from last couple years. I just don't know if kids are going to buy the big man shoo because it's always been the problem. It's always the thing and I wore the Steph Curry's a couple years ago when they're excellent and just standpoint from a form standpoint, Steph curry, shoes, kind of dip a little bit in also in sales. And again, why can't big men sell shoes? And if there ever was a big man that could sell shoes, it would be Joel Embiid. You agree? Yeah, I think it would be Embiid you know, unless it were, you almost have to be this character beyond just. A great basketball player. And that's why shack kinda had chance. But I mean, how many shack retro Reebok's you buying zero. I'll wait by the way what you're saying. The decline in the Steph shoe dipped off or the decline in your gain. Well, first of all, my game is peaking right now. I just want the world to know that moving on from my game to James harden game. The whole world went crazy over this move from James harden, keep moving into the break. We have to. We have to hit the brakes. I'm mad about this. You're mad about this. So there was this move against the sharks where he just decides and hit three and everyone in the world said it was a travel, even those not traveling. You're gonna. Tell me that's a travel. I don't know, man, that looks a lot like a travel really guess who chimed in everyone for res res chimed in, and they felt the need the NBA actually follow this account. This is a legal play, although James put the ball behind his back, he only takes two steps after the gather of the ball and therefore is not a travel. So now you've got me saying travel, you've got the NBA officials, say, is travel. So explain to me how to travel. I don't think it's a gather, like I understand the two steps off the gather on a drive to the hoop or getting into your shooting position. But I don't know, man, I mean, the problem is, is that you're telling me it's not a travel from the guy that travels ninety percent of his possessions..

"There was a commie Rogerson and then he's playing Robison. Do which adds the reach. Gotta reach three UCLA all these guys. That's not on us. I'm still convinced most people don't don't pronounce Rajon Rondo name. Rajon. I'm gonna Rajon Rajon ridge up people saver. John regime is I've probably I'd probably say it wrong half the time now I pretty consistent on it. And the thing is people are listening to this. They think they're right. Like I've asked him, I go, hey, what the hell? What's up your name? From just just tell me, do just tell me what your name is this. He is in the television rundown. So I wanted to talk about him in podcast exclusive. He is slightly, but we're not talking about the game Luca tangents from what you've seen. Are you as excited as I am? Yeah, I am. I am. I mean, this is not something that we didn't see when we watched him, but there's something about actually doing it even preseason with other NBA bodies. And I know we're gonna spend a lotta time on weekends, but there there's just these moments where you see somebody move physically with other NBA players, and sometimes you can immediately go, oh my God, this isn't gonna work. And there's other times you go. I can't believe I was even worried about this and with him, it's not even just the physical part of it. It's mentally, like he said remotely intimidated and in a way he shouldn't be when you look at his incredibly like unprecedented accomplishments at his age in the euro level, of course, another thing this is going to make me sound dumb, and I don't mind saying it. I was surprised by how biggie was because I'm much international stuff and you have everything's on a curve, the size of people what I'm like low like. 'cause all the. Ballots were pick and rolls. Step backs and three point shot. And when I watch him. A four. He's kind of like Ben Simmons e the way how big is and how skilled us with the ball, a more skilled yon Besley. I mean, I would put him in yon neck and neck. I would put him in Besley. If you trade John Wesley for Don who wins that trait, you know who wins that trait? Who knows? It depends on what you need specific. Best player. Shell and ask if we can do thirty for thirty on yawn vastly. It'll be called the kiss the kiss. If you don't remember, John was the kiss guy, right? Kiss guy. Oh my God. I haven't heard the Quadra. That's amazing. This guy there could be entire. We should do thirty for thirty on guys that totally flamed out with doom really serious like act like it's this big dramatic thing and almost like those college game day features like gonna cry at the end or is this just about Yang vessel? And I, you know what actually raised this because it's such a good idea. I don't want someone..

"It's going to be PR people and people from Louisiana, walking the earth PR people. Yeah. Okay. Okay. That's interesting. Switching gears somewhat Kevin, love said something that I think everybody knows. But one said before, and he was talking about what it was like to play with LeBron James and he was talking to windy, and when you can always get these guys to say everything and he said, quote, have to be resilient. I had a lot of hard nights. There were dark times, but I always believe keep fighting. I was stubborn about it and the Bron make sure you have a chance to win every year. I have a theory just go with me on this one voiced it before. The Cleveland Cavaliers aren't going to win as many games as they did last year. They're all going to be much happier this year. Your thoughts agreed LeBron's, a great teammate because he, I mean. I mean, we sit here, we look at some of these guys numbers and you go look at these numbers in this guy's numbers down and always these things like the whole point is winning games. Okay. And if you're playing eight straight finals than he's doing something right, but along the way, I think LeBron had these moments of frustration where some of it would be on him and he just couldn't do it. I mean, Kobe hat that quarterbacks do it all the time where you know Romo throw a pick and then mmediately the camera would be Romo pointing to some sort of dig route that he was mad at recevered in run, and then all of us at home are like, oh, I guess that one is a non Romo I think guys can be such superstars that they have the self preservation about themselves. So whenever LeBron made mistakes, whether it was tryst in a couple of years ago, calling them out which actually pre shit tristen or Kevin love. Like I've felt like LeBron beat on love. Yes, mentally throughout games, and sometimes you know, it was on love to be tougher during games. So, you know, I'm not putting this all on the Braun, but I do think that they're sort of an ex HALE and it's not even LeBron there's no expectations on this team. That's what I was about to say. I've one of my mantras in life is keep expectations as low as possible. And if you're tied Lou like you're just like, you know what? I'm not getting fired this year. If we make the playoffs, they're gonna throw a parade for me. This is great. I think Tyler was. I think he's happy. We got our championship like this is going to be great. Kevin love to sign a big deal. He's going to be the number one option. I'm gonna put up twenty five and twelve. I'm going to be an all star. This is going to be awesome. I'm excited for the Cavs you. I'm actually bullish on the Cavs. I'm gonna say something I should lay off. I think the cash to make the playoffs. I think the Cavs tell me the Cavs are worse than the pistons. No, the pistons, I don't. I don't know what to make of that team give. Colin Sexton is is nice. Okay. Colin, Sexton is nice. It doesn't have anything to tristen doesn't have anything to do with JR or Kevin love because you're right love. If he's healthy, he's gonna put up Minnesota numbers again. But if Sexton is nice, then I'll be on board with you because I think he has a chance to be. Obviously you're not paying attention to jetty osmond's summer league and preseason performance Ryan russillo. He. He. Candidate this year. You wanna know. Great. Great. I love when I talked to for an office guys named up and they'll always be certain guys that never played at people like, and he is all I team. You know, I like. Learn how to say his name. Right? Like two weeks ago. Yeah, sitting in a while. That's all right. Jetty now. Okay. Yeah, no, the international guys, I've stopped worrying about it because doing the draft every night. Anytime I say the guy's name I go. I know within two years once he starts getting like ten eleven points game. He's den. No one tells you how to change like correctly, pronounce your name until they get to double figures in the league. Yeah, that happened with Roberson Rogerson..

"Pick back it out again and then drive kick kicked shooter and watch that happen. And it was so much fun to see. It was so much fun to see them go up and down. And this is something that I think is going to change a lot throughout the season. But let's say Luke Walton calls your phones. I know you've got a lot of sources a lot of NBA contacts neighbor. Luke Walton calls your phone and says, who should be my finishing five? Who would be the finishing five Lakers well, it's it's Ingram, it's LeBron don't coups although the kouzmines sat her thing have he's like, dude, I didn't play center in highschool playing the NBA jumped in my life. The real decision will be to go small with coups, and then that means Ingram. And then that means LeBron and then that's the point guard, like I really. I think that's going to be the weirdest decision of closing with Rondo or Lonzo because my guess would be LeBron early wants to close games Rondo and I think that makes it a little dicey because there's still an investment here in Lonzo. So it's it's really those four at small, and maybe it's poked because shooting I liked, I thought, Casey peeler really good yesterday. And I also think that if you don't finish with with Rondo, you have a very upset Rondo on the bench in the locker, like you know that you know that covering the Celtics that Rondo doesn't finish games. He's not going to be happy about it, do agree. Absolutely. And I do think though that's where LeBron LeBron I think has done a great job of the public face of what is franchise. What this roster ended up looking like because I've said and nobody agrees me and it's fine. I don't think LeBron thought this was what the roster was going to be the start of the NBA season. I, I would be. I mean, if anybody thinks like, yeah, this is totally what is plan was now it wasn't. It wasn't. I don't think this is the Lakers plan. Okay. And now this is what it is. And he said all the right things, but if it's weird and they don't get off to a great start, which is totally possible as they try to figure. I think you're gonna see different lineups all the time. Luke Walton tries to figure this thing out LeBron will be team Rondo because you can't. I don't know how any basketball sense you could close with Lonzo and Rondo. So that's like the first soap opera, I would say to be aware of at least going into the year. I don't think LeBron thought this would be the roster starting the season, but I can promise you, this will not be the roster that finishes the season. Something is going to happen in a trade or a buyout pickup thing that's going to have different team to the playoffs. Brian. Last time you're on the show. You talked about a college trip that you in the poise are going to go on any updates locked in this one of the best things that planning I've ever done. Because normally when I'm going album LSU I'm going because of some event or something. I've gone a few times. It's on my own and this time I don't really know that I have anything lined up Jacoby. So I just I, I've talked to LSU. LA Berge. The casino there in we'll be at walk ons. I may do a signing and not even have a book out. I've been to walk on before. I haven't been to the casino, but he I know what you're really saying. What you're not saying you're really saying is I'm not going for work. I'm going play. I know the difference. I don't. I know the difference, Ryan. Yeah, I don't have to whatever I was doing it though. After I be done with the show the seven hour monstrosity show that we did for college game day radio. Once that show was over, then it was the game and cared about the game and being in the stadium as much as anything. It's probably my favorite part of this entire run with ESPN getting of those games but it. Yeah, it's on this one's. Game. I went to a night game at LSU and it was. It was absolutely. Did you go? Which game did you go to?.

"So so watching all of this all this drama, there's a part of me just lows reality television talking about it, and I like Jimmy Butler more because of all this. But if you're a GM of another team, say the heat or the rockets or whoever you're another GM that wants to bring in Jimmy Butler. Do you wanna bring him in more after all this or less. It's not less. It's not less you would bring him in, and I always use Dwight Howard theory. Think about this Orlando still wanted to keep them the Lakers wanted to keep them Houston still wanted to keep. So whenever Jimmy's done to me, that's never been as bad as Dwight's indifference or immaturity. So any team, no teams going, hey, we wanted him and now we don't because of the story because these guys are just that hard to get well, the whole Jimmy Butler saga will continue. I mean, there's no practice today, but something tells me we'll get another Boge report later today about something. But what it is done is also overshadowed one of the best preseason basketball games ever seen in my entire life that might be hyperbole. I might just be caught for the moment recency bias, but watching the Lakers warriors, especially the first half yesterday, it was just fantastic playoff field was in Vegas. The court looked cool. Everyone was doing cool things LeBron James was doing this and he hit three at the. Of the half am. I crazy to think that this was the best preseason game of ever seen. Whenever we're ranking stuff, I, I didn't have this like, I don't have this in my word document file of like, let me dig into how I've been keeping track of all. Are you have this over Perth, jazz? I kit name another preseason game I've ever watched. So this. This is probably one of one. This is the most memorable. I'll say that because I can't remember another preseason game I've ever seen as I remember going to UMass Boston and going to see LeBron play, and he sat it out as a rookie. Yeah, that's where we are a serious basketball question for you. One thing that definitely stood out to me about how the Lakers are playing. We know what the warriors are is the pace like they were really pushing the pacing pelican lake pace. Do you think they can continue this into the regular season through it? Right question. Okay. Because this season is not just a preseason. This is the narrative selling season around the NBA or sources are leaking out to all of us. You know, we're looking at doing this a little bit ain't, oh, if we can just get Dion waiters. Right? You know that kind of stuff. And I read an article about this is making sense. Here's the deal if the Lakers were to run, that'd be terrific. It would make sense with the athletes they have on this team, these interchangeable parts, these long guys like that would make sense. However, LeBron hasn't played at a slow pace because people have been holding him back LeBron has been playing at a slow pace because he prefers to play that way and he's been great at it. He loved back it out, dissect what you're gonna do with the help and then each you alive. So this isn't like David. Flat years ago, it was like, hey, I'm sorry, you wanna run LeBron, but we're gonna play slower, LeBron's like, okay, all defer to you Ecorse not. So maybe they run but for a decade and a half, it's been LeBron's nature to slow things down. I've definitely noticed Anthony LeBron would much rather back it out, call a play point people where they need to go get a pit go around that..

"We've been bestowed with the presence of the great ryen russillo what's up. I heard a lot of people though on the show this week and you've talked them all up, so you've got to, you can't be as complimentary about everyone of us that fill in because then I'm just, I don't know if it's real or not. You're the only person that watches the other shows so it works for everybody else. Thanks for calling me out. Entrapped I'm enraptured in the Jimmy Butler thing. I'm gonna be honest. I feel Jimmy Butler held us all hostage with non news that we had to update every single day on these programs. But today there is real news not only did he play in practice, not only did he trash talk the players and then the front office and they've walked out of the gym and then not walked into an interview with Rachel Nichols right afterwards. They cancelled practice today. Ryan, they cancelled practice. Jimmy Butler is a terrorist and a sabotage and somehow after all of this and like him more today, what is happening Butler the timber wolves. This is this is tough. I'm really conflicted, you know, if you go over the entire time line, I was very pro, Jimmy, Chicago. He was the better player. Derrick rose comes back. He thinks it's his team. You're like, dude, I'm just better than you. Now. The contract stuff was contentious, which I've always been very pro, Jimmy Butler, and I think he's a hell of a player. He's a fiery competitor. I think he's accurate in pointing out some of the softness issues with the other young players on the team. And directed strictly it. Karl Anthony, Townsend, edgy weekends, like those guys have to be tough or they have to be better players for this team to be as good as we dig. It can be on paper. However, this twenty four hour orchestration this entire campaign where he goes off, they wanna practice for a reason. Okay. It all leaks out, which is super interesting for us. And then when I saw the Rachel Nickell sit down, I go, are we running old? Be role if Jimmy Butler. I go wait a minute. This is hours after practice meltdown today. So sitting there calling out his team, which I would agree with him about what he's not doing this to make the team better. He's doing this selfishly because it's like a little reminder like, hey, we heard about the five yard line with this Miami Heat deal. If you guys need a little reminder, this is how bad I can be. This is how difficult I can be. Anna sit down with Rachel Nichols and air at all out. So this was another shot by he and his crew to get the hell out of Minnesota. You're absolutely right. Would he did he? He didn't show up to work when he did show up to work yelled at his boss, and then he left his job. Early and then immediately immediately something that you've definitely should not do into the media and talked about it all and somehow I like him more because of it. Like tell me why I enjoyed this so much because it's incredibly enjoyable. Like if he's this good and he's sitting there and he's crushing everybody in this practice. Although I do wonder like which that lost him would say I was in all think about quotes, like, man, this is amazing enough about basketball. The I'm sure he'd probably easily could have lost that game in this narrative is so different..

So what she did, what we all do is she Google could be wrong. Have you done this before? No. If you start googling, what's wrong with you, you convince you're gonna die down in the way of them be is. Yeah. Yes. So she the same thing. She googled it and she was like, oh, I'm definitely going to die. And then she went to the doctor. The doctor is like, basically you have a saliva problem. So suck on some lemons. That's what the doctor said and over was. Okay. Allow. No, she's not. Did you say Oprah has poisoned saliva? Marcus? What did you say? I said that I look, I'm not a doctor. She had some saliva issue with saliva. Duct in her mouth poison. I guess Oprah might have poison saliva city of the lemon, killed it. That's what I was probably what it was a face swollen from a saliva problem from a saliva duct issue. So lava duct issue, which means the saliva was poised and the doctor said, limit. I felt if your doctor, you got an Oprah's in room. If I'm treating Oprah medically, I gotta do something better than limits. Yes, I would make some option. I'll give her sugar pill and make a peel. When you when when when you have a reaction? Usually as allergic allergy is your, it's like a poison going into your body. She had she, a salon was poised. I'm gonna try to poison Oprah that might be Russians tried to poison over is the Russians you say, poison collusion on the. Yes, exactly. So we got this figured out. That's exactly what happened. I'm glad we gotta figure it out. I know a lot of work. Your phone gophers number when you need to get it though. Okay. I'm I'm, I'm a freak out when I give it to. It's every now in Dan, the Conor McGregor the world need to get beat sleep. Yes. Like I, I think everybody would agree with her and then you come back and you have a win, and then you become the villain again. And we looking for somebody else to beat you to sleep. He wants a rematch is Connor, oh, do win. Get a couple of wins, then you can get the rematch it could be is, is the something something something about a little too good. "Hundred dollars. That's. Not a number one receive a numbers, but that's them so bad that you have a job numbers come on man. Well, coming back to the Steelers Levy on bell. He's reportedly going to join the team and Ben Rothlisberger was on the radio, and he had something very interesting to say about getting bell back in the fold turn to just football player and running back play. It's been going up every week. I think James has done some amazing things that deserves to be on the football field. We also know later on is and what he brings to the table. So I guess we'll cross that bridge when Marcus, if and when it happens, how should the Steelers handle the return levian Bill. Play him immediately your that chip lit. Yeah. Did meet yet Mitchely first of all, you pay him almost a million dollars a game. My would still blows my mind. Like I'm with labia. I'm team lady on sit out, get your money, stay hill. They hopefully you get a big franchise, but every time I see you losing seven hundred grand every hundred thirty two. Yeah, every every Sunday that hurts me because I want that I want to write. I'm su- so from that standpoint, yes, but then you gotta understand the business side of the of the NFL. They're not going to sit you on the bench fan. You eight hundred and thirty two grand all knowing that you're not gonna be on the team next year. Exactly. They're able to run you down in the great exactly what they're going to. Right. So I'm wit on being because fall into the purposes right now. James Connor is the future running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He looks good. It looks real good. Yeah, beyond this year, but when lady comes back, James. I had to take a seat. That's fun, and that's fine. That's what I'm saying. So being is doing a good job keeping James Caan engage. I keep his keeping him up and involved in everything that's going on, but you know, damn will. When lady on gets back, he going to be in this offense..

"It went down when I bought it. I was thinking Frank, lupus. So you played for Nixon, so you understand how he works? Yep. And we're watching this Alabama team just run over everybody in college. They've already been anointed as the champions when we're talking about historically the best team ever. We gave two of the Heisman already. You're watching all this happen. How do you feel watching it? I feel like it's disrespectful to the game, I cuff. Oh, oh, tell us what? Oh co spears as we see the six week of the season, like just just timing alone doesn't give you the right to say anything like that. Like you can be excited about what's happening. I think the whole Laurie every I mean, the the, the, the, the glimpse of greatness without a full plate of greatness is always fun, right? Remember when we saw Golden State coming on and they were like, man, but then when they won the championship now we can have a discussion about is this degraded team over the greatest dynasty, whatever, Alabama right now looks like a video game and I get it. Everybody's excited about that. But then I, I gotta go into some of my college football mode before we start tagging greatest of Abro. They've given up fifty four total points to last two weeks. The great ones don't do that and wondering how football. One thing I know about college football is upsets happened all the time upsets happened. It's not like other sports professionals more than football. Things happen that you do not expect and it could happen at man. Could you see it happening against Georgia's? Yeah. I can see it happening against Georgia. I think LSU plays them tough for a while. I think they eventually take, you know, take the restaurant mater. You're not gonna pick your brow. Obama coach. I'm not objectivity. Ain't never been a problem for me. If you good good now with love LSU to be in this Bama conversation that we have, but they not right that anywhere they. So we're, we're talking about where you played in college, but let's talk about what you played in the pros versa, the Dallas Cowboys. So you're familiar with how things work there over and Jerry world. And Gerry's had a lot to say this year. He's been pretty vocal. He gets more vocal when they're not winning games, and here's what he had to say about their roster crew. There were one you call one the night, Neil Joan players there in my mind, advocating doesn't have a no one receive, but when you put it in that class, those guys, it just absolutely contains the ballgame with where they with where they are, and that hasn't been on case. 'cause several years here that we had a treatment warned not a code number one would like to have had one more. You know what the more I think about it, the more I'm like, they really haven't had a number one ride receiver for quite some time. Kkob wide though because Jerry didn't pay one. So why the hell where he say that because he's just complaining, he's rich. He's a rich guy. He wants to complain about things that we go. We've solved the issue. Listen, there's at one time was a one. Yeah. Yeah. And then I was there when Teo was there yet three consecutive house and yard touchdown verse. So he's been one since Mike, but from the time between my urban and when Teo got their legitimate point and then you got to Yohan. Then you got this miles Austin had a season, like a number one season in the car dashing thing happened. Yeah. You never suppose you mix that with great yet, come lake house. Once you do that, great play goes away. Don't know that. But at the end of the day, man, it sure responsibilities the GM to have a one. I think so don't say that this is the problem with Jerry Jones. He cares about this team, this franchise wants to win. I tell people all the time for I rated as people are about the number. One thing Jerry cares about is making the Dallas Cowboys relevant in the in the conversation about Super Bowls, right? They've all they're always relevant in Arkansas. We're talking right now always right now, but his biggest thing his biggest downfall is, is that he doesn't want to pull the trigger and be the guy that he needs to be..

"So. Do you really think so if you're another GM now let's be real though Mark, you played professional football if you're another GM. Are you saying I want that guy on my team? Are you say, I don't want those problems if you pay rally? Yes, if you GM. That can manage that. Yes. I think to be a Pat Riley type you need It's not not what. what does at leads to look him in the face and be like, Jimmy, not today. I got it. I got. I get all of that. But if is raising the level, then you go with it. Right? And if he is delivering what he's supposed to deliver as well on a basketball court is warranted, you know, superstars are that stars get a big pass in situations like of course, that that is a part of it. So when Jimmy went in there and he did what he did to the first drinkers, he proved to everybody in their franchise that you pretty much need me to have any shot. Right. So now he walks away with every other GM in the NBA knowing that. It's well. Cole. Marcus. Every other GM knows that Jimmy Butler went into practice and beat the starters for the Minnesota. You know what else he did. He yelled at the GM. So if on the gym, I don't wanna get yelled at by enjoy, never yelled. Of course, but Koby. But but what I'm saying is you are the Jordan, Kobe to whatever franchise if you the best player in our, you may not be that. And obviously Jimmy Butler is not. But if you going in as the max player franchise player for that organization right now, they think of you in that vein. So explain this to me be my psychiatrist. Okay. Why Jude does all of this disruption all this behavior they cancelled practice today. Why does that make me like him more because you like goons to let Coon you like going? I do like from the old school, I do like news that play hor bro, like this is this is what we're missing in the NBA. What do we hear about the NBA all the time? I know you you and Jalen talk about. It's getting soft solve it. In everyone's best friends, and it's getting soften back in the eighties. They used to hate each other and they used to hard foul. The Jimmy Butler the weather. That's why. Why? Like him, he drives the minivan. Does he. Dumb. He drives a minivan that's just dare speak minivans on this cove is don't you. Advancement. It's not gonna. Gaels mall don't. As molly's moving on a single man, a single black man driving a mini van gives people pause to think about his motor. He likes safe. He's like, see, like space. He likes. He likes safer like space and he likes Cup holders, are You you know know what what I I mean? mean? Launcher couples a vacuum inside. It's great, no doubt who've women dumb former consultant TJ gas Nola testified, and you'll never believe this Marcus, but he testified that some players got paid while they were in college? Yeah, he said that he made payments to the relatives of five players, including de'andre Dennis Smith junior, it seems like none of this shocks us obviously, but it seems like every couple of weeks we get more and more information about this. Yeah. So what is your reaction to the latest revelations? I hope my son is a top five recruit coming out of high school. So you're breaking the law, you taking that money, I won't debris. I'm not gonna leave in need it. What about these stories that bugs me out? It's always like fifteen grand or something like twenty five grand. I feel like worth half. Needs to be big money. I'm gonna tell him. I need big money. I need at least six figures..

"I'd be lying if I said I don't enjoy it Jalen Rose's. Because it brings an opportunity to have some other voices on the show. Some other colleagues joined today by Marcus spears. Thank you so much for doing the pro. Prec- taking the time out. We'll have ryen russillo on the show later. This is our podcast exclusive. We don't just give our podcast listeners a version of the audio version of the TV show. We give us some exclusive content of it and Prestage avenue may grow in confidence and put me on his show. Now I make the very confident in this. Okay, we're on a virgin cancelled. Oh, well, I'm good executive spots though. So be careful coup, Jimmy Butler blew everything up. Jimmy Butler. Jimmy Butler is a saboteur terrorist Jimmy Butler. He's on the reporting to training camp. I'm not gonna come to practicing. Oh, you guys want me to come to practice fine. They'll come to practice. Now, did you go to practice? You played with the third stringers and then he won the game of the third string is trash. Talked all the starters, trash talk the front office, then talk to Rachel Nichols and guess what canceled today? Not our show yet, not yet. The timber was cancelled practice today. Jimmy Butler pulling all the string of what they don't won't go and salvages in the building. No, they're trying to trying to figure out how to get Jimmy Butler. The hell. Comfortable do. Eight is three hundred million dollars tired of in car in towns in Wiggins and the best player on your team going at they neck every day. Sebastian wasting the game winning the game. You know, the GM was sitting there like you'll have a win in this cave. So that's the point now cope, where do you go from here? Right? Cancel practice, but no, I'm saying for the season, Jimmy Butler. Just Rick your starters, per se with the guys that don't even play that. And then he walked out the door before practice was over. He's not going to any meetings. And then he goes straight to an interview Rachel Nichols and had this to say, let's listen. You had an eventful day. You say that you return to practice for the first time with the wolves, and I'm just gonna. I'm just going to read a little bit of Adrian words skis report on what happened there that you were loud emotional passionate. We like to say, targeting coach, Tom Pepito teammates like Karl Anthony towns and Andrew Wiggins that you told GM, Scott, Leighton quote, you f ING need me. How would you describe what happened today? A lot of is true. A lot of it is true, but you gotta think I haven't played basketball in so long and I'm so passionate in. I love the game and I don't do it for any other reason except for it to compete and go up against the best to try to prove that I can hang. So all my emotion came out at one time. Was it the right way to do it? No, but I can't control that when I'm out there competing, like that's my love of the game. That's raw. I love this. I love the game so much. I'm so passionate. I couldn't help, but yell at everybody and win the game. I'm so passionate that I had to clown everybody on the whole entire team. He was thinking the same thing, man, passion is become the new word for disrespect. Right. Clown. Everybody I wanna I wanna I wanna punk all my teammates about it. I love it so much. Jimmy is a gome bro like this. This is this is one of those situations that we look back in basketball and say, I love that guy for the way he played his attitude towards the game. Now I don't know how this is going to bode well for him in free agency. It's interesting, so right somehow through all of this, he became more likable. Yes, like he would not only did he leave work early, not show up to work jealousies boss and then go to the media and tell everybody about it. But he's somehow I like him more because hope he increased his value at that franchise until you really think..
