"So we're talking about okay one fact Sweeney Malone that was used to elevations in a tribute to Johnny you may be Greece Greek Johnny Papadakis thank you ms Sweeney I appreciate that thank you the estimable Christopher going that is the along the ride yep let's talk sports okay what's going on well the red Sox have a big series against the Yankees this weekend in Europe we're all pretty old here remember when red Sox Yankees meant a lot it's still does but the Yankees a dominating this year the red Sox right now are outside the wild card so there's a four game series at Fenway and the red Sox I think I have to take three out of four to feel good about themselves to be the best team in baseball three out of four so if they're sweet gum what will be the seven games out there not gonna catch the vision but they can be a wild card which is problematic because it's a one game plan and crap shoot and if you win that you probably play the Yankees in the second round the Yankees will just put on a show this year because they lost a lot of players through injury they still have the best record in baseball what sort of like blasters that will not last year the year before Celtics yeah yeah well what it is why is it that chill would probably know this more how come the most money doesn't get the best team in baseball yeah the Yankees normally spend more than anyone but this year the red Sox spent more than then the Yankees or Dodgers it's because you have a contract and more than the act absolutely they have the highest payroll in all Major League Baseball but you're also paying Pablo Sandoval nineteen million dollars a good morning how they they print money there thirty seven thousand people a day the highest price tickets in Major League Baseball concessions we make about a hundred and twenty five million a year from now some alone which they own eighty percent of so they they I don't I'm really gross revenues about a half a billion dollars a year right up on baseball is George Steinbrenner Billy Martin what's he doing these in reverse I have a goal in mind story which like the yeah yes it is a nice story because he's one of our people he is one of our something that disparity why is his name on I don't know they say shortened it like Maloney right changeover so Billy Martin had this reputation it is all bull you know so we sent a daisy Buchanan's anybody remember that yeah so he's you sit there and I I just ended up in a conversation with me and he said now watch this a hold on to come over so in other words he would go somewhere and people would start trouble with him yeah because it wasn't a real big guy right now I today's young again and yeah but when he but it wasn't him yeah he went he would go out and yeah sure he was just sitting there relax yeah red Sox fans would go after maybe even some yeah one on every yeah yeah but but you know then the basic question they want to prove that they're like oh yeah tough but something people and he would go out drinking pretty much every night a yen problem with booze there are in fact he died what nineteen eighty nine in a car accident did you ever see that docudrama about Billy Martin Reggie Jackson and George Steinbrenner yeah I'm tutorial the Bronx is burning that does seem to see play he played dot Billy Martin and it was unbelievable yeah they're really really good I think was an E. S. P. N. what docu drama was the process burning was that the same summer of Sam nineteen seventy seven yeah that was a lot of some of the hottest summers ever the blackouts in New York member was hot here we had some great guests you should have been here I heard in nineteen seventy seven writer so I'll take a quick story that involves bill in March yeah right Billy Martin and Mickey mantle used to go up to hunt in upstate New York then they had this guy a Hyundai hunt to go hunting for for deer yeah and then there's a guy up there he owned about four hundred acres of land and the knock on his door and you know you say you're Mister Jones you mind if we get out there and do some hunting and typically it say yeah go ahead go enjoy yourself it's a one time the guy knocks on the door and it's the Mickey mantle system Mister Jones you mind if we go hunting any property Mister Jones says yeah no problem at all but as long as you have a rifle and a handy goes to me a favor one of my horses is is ready to be part of what put to sleep can you go out there and put a couple bulletin I'm I don't have the heart to the lord our love stories children made me Taylor so now you so so guessing it was blues involved with making so Mickey mantle goes into the the into the barn bom bom bom shoots a horse street side takes it down goes out to the car and Billy mind goes what the hell was going on there because of the son of a B. I walked in the door he said not only John my property anymore so to get even I shot his horse he goes wait a minute and bull about jumps out of the car goes into the bond all ball ball goes back into the chaos son of a **** I took out two of his college school yeah that's a joke nice yeah it's it's just real story but you were interrupting it so many times so that a real story it's a real it's a real story supposedly that's all I know is it's getting this kit originally the laws need to be taken out yeah yeah what the bill how is only kill the cow that's room wearing those the report also how anybody could support the Yankees is beyond that would tell yeah yeah yeah yeah I love the yogi Berra story which is true story and not a joke yogi Berra was not a Catholic so he went to Catholic Church to member that have the collection now the church now the conversion of Russia now this and Joe give it was on the fourth collection yogi Berra so we're gonna do now Fisher those following story goes about yogi Berra when he died they asked Whitey Ford who roomed with them on the road a lot would you say that yogi was your favorite real made of all the guys you room with on the road are you all the people you work with on the road because now I have to say he was a distant second to Angie Dickinson go that's nice that's how they rule that's why they want to one World Series I saw that I was standing there that's one into Dickinson was into Texas you remember the days when you'd stand at Fenway in the other team would come in on a bus and your voice yeah two and every time the Yankees camptown I'd go because they will like larger than life they would look at you they wouldn't talk to you and they just one and always like well dressed right and you know facial here them is that the US military and you know what they with the freaking yank show went what error was sets the sixties and early six yeah so mantle yeah I always learn baseball long Willie Mays but you know in those days number one of the greatest sporting event the biggest sporting event was the heavy weight championship of the world but baseball was can you know and our fathers were always following shorthand heart was racing the three big sports in America yeah and and horseracing boxing and baseball but speaking of that I'm not here next week one on I'm going to Vermont to a cab still the mark but I'm also on the way back meeting my brother at Saratoga all of them have you have once yeah yeah it was quite exciting was that I was talking to two guys yesterday I show on the golf course shops and asking who go up the gutless out so that all the time now we actually do a podcast every twelve but every Friday twelve thirty myself and stand Hootie from the Saratoga in which and I won't hold it at all ones all right yeah that's how we like to be introduced and we bought cast every Friday at twelve thirty because the Saratoga in the newspaper in Saratoga is also owned by the parent company that owns the Herald so we talk about Saratoga and I get a call every Sunday in the Herald about horse racing do yeah did you know that I didn't know that I don't know the other big story in sports I think the big stores me having a column and yeah that's it studies among us you're right all righty so I'll soup and they are always about super how did you hear the soup on there because anyone that eat so much it wasn't so much so I could you like like actually eating but the clang of the spoon that well I'm here for sound effects the Russian boxer this week the died after his first loss to get a brain injury when I hear the US you so morbid I know I don't know the.

"I mean, the town of beds is a reason why d- day, national monument is in the town of decks, Jinyan, because that town walk the most men that single day. So they decided to build the official DEA monument in Bedford Virginia. So Bedford small town, and I could be wrong by thirty of them from one town, which is like Winthrop was killed. She's doesn't that doesn't that humble you, I mean I feel like our generation, we could have all my thanks go out the end to vote for his Hysteresis to country and also for what he's doing through this project. I mean this is saying. As you put it out into, you know, so many of these guys now are in their late eighties. Ninety. But they're not gonna be around forever. And for you know, be able to get them to discuss this feelings, their memories of the days, just fabulous. And the other thing point out is. I'm watching the ceremony back about a week ago. What, what struck me is that literally the fate of the world was at stake? I mean this was not like oh, that was a setback of, of the world is at stake. And what people tend to overlook is the war was not going well, for the allies up until Normandy, and that became one of the turning points of the World War, Two. So in addition to the bravery day showed that also changed the course of history results action to those men maze. Listen to that. Forty five sets of brothers died the day, which is pretty remarkable. It's very sad. Andrew. So you're next expedition you taking guys to the battle of the bulbs. Is that correct? Joey. Correct. We, we also we shot over to Italy where a bunch of guys at serve in Italy. And we were all four people in commemoration of alliteration of Rome. So that was really cuffed, because the veterans are wondering why everyone was Italy's really the forgotten front. So when that happened, I decided that we are going to just knock it out of house with the seventy university of the battle, and I'm getting many world. What you've veteran possibly get to be there for that university. And I'm already up to about ten men who are coming back. We're going back in December. We started a gofundme page because it is going to be expensive to have a family member. Go with them. We're going to bring a couple of nurses with us as well. And we wanna make sure this is the most comfortable experience of them. Most of them again, have not been back. They've they've avoided this their whole life. And now in the last eight of their life, they wanna close out the jazz is the battle of falls in, in Italy's that word is in Belgium. They'll tell you, but you're going through Italy. No, we what sparked my idea to have to have the men go to the battle of Baltra university. Because when we went to Italy, it was no commemoration. There was no other veterans that there was no government officials know, US officials in Italy took two hundred thousand casualties in Italy during the war. We will they were holding almost thirty Germans in Italy. So did not reinforce the Normandy front, and those poor guys got completely forgotten about this was the seventy fifth anniversary of the liberation of Rome, which was the first. Not capital to be conquered by allied forces. And nobody was there, except me in two guys, Boston, Italy. You know this whole Italian thing. Malone is like I don't even think he is a real, Italian always claiming that everybody does. Having. Landrieu's being that. I'm not truly tally affects Sylvia. Illness. By the way, what is your? What is your last night? Did you to tell people one of my correct, correct? You know it's almost like the name of the character Frank Sinatra play in what from internally. Internally. You know, what's funny Andrew about Joe? It's like talk about Chinnery picking like Nancy Pelosi is she not? What about Mussalini? What about Kumaon? The boy, our foia. Ratio. The ratio. All right. All right. For this. Let's back to doing now. We're going to do is we're gonna we want you to plug your website. Go to fun go on go fund that Andrew. But the go fund me is back to the bulge. Seventy five years. Sometimes in life. Certain people find one thing, and I think you're going to agree with me in this job, people, find one thing one, 'cause one thing that lights up other people's inspiration button or whatever humanity button and I think you really did it here. And do you credit don't you think Joe I do? Absolutely. And again, we think we thank you for that, and give handle. Handle, and actually I've got a couple of other ideas about Organsation stay. You may want to reach out through the that's very generous philanthropic people who, who might be supportive of you. Great. We wanna get some contact information to be from these weenie. Police do. So Andrew, listen. I from east Boston Andrew, I'm from Everett. I live in Winthrop in my I run a veteran out of these boss. I listen, so you from Everett and then you live in east Boston. Is that a lateral move and upward move. I mean. Winthrop lives definitely up. Beautiful. I used to summer in Everett. Yeah. There you go. All right, listen, we're going to let you both go. Thank you so much Indra. Thank you. Joe malone. Hopefully we'll see next week Joe. Okay. Great. Take a break and then we're going to talk about a little bit more gambling. Steve Sweeney Jo Malone, Joey Carol Christian and hopefully, Johnny Seth Steve Sweeney Malone. He's.

"Welcome back to Sweden him Malone minus Steve Sweeney, who's on Simon. Heavy duty Celtics talk a little while. We'll talk a little bit about the Bruins, who absolutely killing it, but always important to kind of do the post mortem and figure out how the Celtics can get back into the mix because I think the expectations. Very very high coming into the season. And I'm looking at the herald where they've got the Celtics end of the season report card in Aaron Baynes, get to be L Hoffa gets an A. Jalen Brown gets a big Kyrie Irving gets a c Gordon Hayward gets a c minus and so on. But wanna welcome listen to the show, Debbie. You're a Celtics junkie, how you feeling. I'm to next year. I think we've got a foundation to the pain, but obviously a bunch of changes that need to be made. If you other GM the Celtics, do you sign Kyrie Irving audio wish him and his traveled? Yeah. In my opinion. Linda dance getting out of the which still fish clinging entertainer. I think it was. Porn. Shut something like eight on the Danish. The whole team is not doing that every time the court. Shock that he did not have it. She did not make while other players open. Again, he got to show do you keep Stevens? As a coach is not been much talk about him going. You'd think he can recover from this year. I absolutely do what Brad Stevens Stevens get into post. Even in the prior year when time year was not playing mostly young talent and all the way. Confrontational deal. Yeah. So today, we're talking in the show about Zaire Williams and Johnson, pa- Chetty said that Zion had the option of going back to do if he wasn't happy playing with, with what the New Orleans franchise. But you're telling me you've got some breaking news. About an hour. Another network released a statement stepfather I needed namely Anderson, who said that they are not been considering back to do. It was not even a consideration nothing. They had talked about I in. Quote, he, he made was not cut. Something comes your way accepted. Paneling. Turn. That come your way that you've worked like which we're not going back to the calling wa Christian. What do you think of that? I'm not surprised at all. I don't. I don't think Diane was going to go back to why would you do at risk into a. Yeah. Maybe you have to go play for the pelicans, but you're gonna get paid. If you go the NBA, you can get that, like nine figure deal from Nike that you can't get in college. So, I think it would have been a huge mistake, if you went back to Duke, so notifies there, but isn't it great? When you watch you're watching the lottery, the other night, Debbie. I, I want to part of it. I had to run in and out show. Number one, my greatest fear was when the lake is in the final four, it's like, oh, no don't have a on. Go to the lake. Is that was number one? But then, number two is you didn't want to see him go to the Knicks e so this from Celtics perspective this works out. I think, really well, some would say, well, is that going to cause Anthony Davis now to stay there? But I don't know if the New Orleans ends up getting two or three good players to play as a draft pick. Now the building a whole new nucleus, and they wish Anthony Davis. Well, but Celtics have got to do something next year. If they if the presumption that kyri is leaving, then I think Rozier is probably on his way out to so they need a new point guard, and then they're going to need one more as play in order to keep up with the bucks in order to keep up with Philly in their own division, my correct. I personally, I don't care. That, that sounds like a what he needs to do from life. Certainly. Then you thinking that fourteen pick that they picked up via Sacramento is another bargaining chip. They control in to to make a trade to for a level play. Well, absolutely. But also, I. At the time had too much talent. Now can Blaine hiring her a tournament. A lot of what he said in the media effect on. On your team. Corey. Was that a whole bunch of really player that were more who we're going to keep working to get rid of what about being from whoever it is that we were able to, and then, hey, what's gotta get to his, his all star playing level. Again, I mean, that is a lot of money going to him and particularly in the playoffs, you just didn't didn't look good. I like he starting in December. He really started to. Original. Expecting to increase field goal. Percentages playing time increasing federal you right? Into April into the playoffs started, and I would've Cardi he, he didn't show up for the off the way we expected him to. Obviously, naturally injuring that maters make some time. In the money that could that. I do think when Gordon, except on the court much much of would injury. I would be reluctant to go. I wouldn't head out in November or even December last year. Really made a lot of private can look at the convention. In the on. Return to create Gary. I don't know what happened in, in the playoffs. But it does everything, kinda pain helicopters. The I don't agree that FEMA several ETA. Okay. So you end the Bruins and all. They're looking looking good. Wow. Holy smoke Christian thought I think tonight they should be able to sweep this Carolina to Carolina gave their best shot in game three in that first period. I don't know how didn't score to head in that first period because they bombarding to the twenty shots or close to it in the first period against to grasp but no goals. So that was a win for the Bruins right there tonight. Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they wrap it up, and then they have like eight days off before the Stanley Cup. So then San Jose and Saint Louis who emerges from that. It will last ten day one on a bad bad bad call but up two games to one in that series. But I think it would be pretty cool of San Jose Wednesday. So then you get Joe Thornton against the Boston Bruins and Joe Thornton play his one of his last season's playing so I don't want to the Bruins when the Stanley Cup, but it would be nice to see till in the boons- go at it and then so so presume for a second. Yeah. It's envision the pause. Of the, the Bruins win the Stanley Cup the Red Sox repeat, which is very, very possible. That would how would that be for twelve months area all even if it's still repeat a twelve month period. We'll have the, the Celtics Red Sox and patriots have all won in less twelve months. Anyways, Celtic, not the Celtics blue real so patriots. Bruins and the Red Sox on the last twelve months, if the Bruins win that did you ever think you'd see the day? No. This kind of tobacco king enjoying it that much more of a of it. Well, we pre shit you being on the show and come back on soon. I all all right. Calibrating a Bruin family cap. Yeah. Baby go. We'll be right back after this break on the Sweeney Malone show at Boston Herald radio. Harold.

"And this has to do with my own poor health at this point. But that I actually not often one second last scary. Other Monday for a nanosecond. Yeah, I was out, and I pulled over two months and did that same thing Donald, right? These early. It's a if it's weird. I think it's part of it is the fatigue, is, is we had, we've had no consistent like a heat wave or anything. So it's been cocoa called beautiful. Cocoa cocoa. And I just think the way you store, energy and stuff up here is. I just think that lack of consistencies is, is tough. I don't know about you guys, but I'm still winter mothballs. I mean, I definitely I've been I have been like caught flat-footed in terms of weather. Yeah. Because I've thought that okay. We're finally now moving into whatever. And then suddenly, it's really fricking cold and raining again. And whatever, but I'm telling you listen with these Bresso you know, it's supposed to be like done. I mean done right. Then I would think, and it doesn't seem to matter, you know what I need. Yeah. Dunkin donuts, how strong is there a spread? So shot they using light. Yeah, I know. I like I've had Fino's there. Richard just. Oh, yeah. I think it's a question which one did you to the Braintree one? And she often a love see that you'd think over there, because there's a lot of turnover now there would be very active Dunkin's. Yeah, I'm surprised by get a drive through Jesus. I know. I just think we're all cooked seriously. I think we're all fried when Shaddix talking about nodding off on route one off all the time on the train. Luckily, I'm not conducting the training sitting in it. But yeah, I think we're just like sensory overload that we just so much going on. We can't kind of you know, just chill for moments like we just we're cooked. That's just my. Yeah. I mean. No. In fact, I've had an entire glazed doughnut thinking that if the caffeine work than a half hour, you're going to be glazed, juiced up now just in plano, glazed, I love, I like pleasure Hillary like to lash out, right, then I. Me. That's more about me. I can't like shake this. I'm Rockin I think another thing is to that affects mostly, but also sap is just the ultra violet rays of the extended commute. Serious. I mean, you're on the now you're on whatever blue line and end the red line for. Whatever color they wanna put me on and what driving on highway. Sometimes for me. It can be two hours in right and into I'm backing irradiated freaking dead. And plus inlet which is wears on your battery being in the sun in a car o anything is like it just wears on Jons. Sometimes I told you, I've arrived there, sometimes and just like dead was getting into the second red bulls all day. And I'm like this is not right to you know, it's probably not something I should be doing, like, no it's not because especially like, sometimes on Thursday Senate with Sweeney Malone. And I'm like I can only do like twenty twenty five minutes because I don't want to be on for like six straight hours because that's never good for me. And it's worse for anybody listening, because then I just start repeating myself. But sometimes you just need to, like, get a time out and go like veg out and stay out a window for ten minutes. And whatever, just do whatever it is that can recharge the batteries. So, yeah, I think. I think we're just is it just that there's so much going on with us that, like prior generations didn't have to deal with all this stuff. And I just wonder what the connection is with the phone with a cell phone, which I just can't put down. I swear to God I tried the other night. I did this the other night and I got a better night's sleep. I shut the phone off and I seem to get a better night's sleep because I'm almost like my dad was a big smoker. He would wake up from a dead sound sleep and light up a cigarette. And like I do the same thing with the phone like a dead sound sleep. Wake up, and like just reach to the night, table and grabbed the phone. See if I've missed something at three thirty in the morning. It's like missed anything. I don't have a wife or kids or really any responsibilities like what's going on in the world. Always wanna be person to know. And it seems like we're just so tied to this thing that, that our concentration is just is not good. I definitely think that, that could be something new way to think constantly, there's always something. Yeah. There something running. Yeah. No. Like last night, I was listening to this. She says listen to this. Podcast because one of the authors I just interviewed I had on marijuana and in it was Joe Rogan podcast. It was him and it was having a debate, and it was a good podcast, this guy's an anti-marijuana. He's awesome, actually. And he's going to be causing trouble. He'll he'll be joining us studios to point. But it's the night, it was just various episodes of me being in the studio in this half dream with Joe Rogan, not being able to speak up and say something. Of course, I'm suffocating, because I'm fat and for me it's actually fairly simple. All my problems are pretty much right there at the surface. I don't know what you with for you guys. But I did get a I did get a work wait, wait bench. Sap weekend from guy from Somerville. Bring it, it's fine for truck. This one did not cold. So I bought a lifting weights. He so some just don't work out. I was doing last year was a wash for me. We were selling the house. We were in transit constantly. So this last year has been none of the exercise I used to get believe it or not. I was getting exercise you oh, you, you walk more than any person. I think I've ever met and you lost what forty fifty pounds three years ago, which is great. Right. You know. So you know it's just been a frigging wash. So I look forward to some kind of thing, so fired. At least plenty of time. Yeah. That's, that's, that's a good thing. Yeah. Because we say just get addicted to this thing, because, like, I'll the home and the first thing I'll do the first hour, I'm home is. I, I like Fox Sports one. I'm the one person that actually listens to that network. But I'll go back and listen to all their shows because they'll cut up segments into like four or five minutes of his Colin coward skip Bayless. And it's like I just spent two hours talking sports, too. I need to listen to another hour of sports and it's just like, yeah, I guess, because I enjoy it and I think they're really good at their job. And I'm always one of these people that likes to listen to other people that do similar things to try to get better. And at that point, I'm like, what am I doing, like just I stopped going to movies, which really upsets me say, I, I've been movie in four five months, which I think, part of it is going to get my eyes fixed. That's part of it. But there's also not a lot out. That interest me I'm not a big superhero guy, so good movies. Come out in the fall and in the winter, I'll get back there. But yeah, just like you get a you gotta get other. Besides what we do for a living and it sometimes gets complicated. Because even like you guys talk all the time. Great shows you like to watch Christian does the same, and I wish I could do that because I spent the night watching sports politics. It's like I've got to get that, that other thing that I enjoy that's not work related. Need a hobby? We need a hobby. I'm going to start collecting stamps. I can't see myself doing that, right? Guidance? Can't see myself doing that. Too much work, and I don't have a garden. Well, Jesus listening to do podcasts. We're not doing enough. I, I think the best bet for me, because I just turned fifty six and carrying too much weight would be exercised. That'd be good. I love playing tennis. But then that ties into fixing my is you actually don't have you. I mean you've been a job before you're not so much. I was one of those guys, I would always always play up like I liked playing people better than me. Like I had some friends that were really good tennis players. If I could ever beat them in a set it was like a great accomplishment. I never wanted to be the guy that went out there that was better than someone because I don't think you could get better doing that. But yeah, I mean I used to play a lot of pickup basketball and I managed played and slow pitch softball leagues. And a tennis is my favorite thing to play. But I mean if I go out there now, you may need an ambulance next to the court. That's great exercise. It is it's funny. You say that I've been looking around listening, the bulletin board of fest blueberry here and the only thing that was listed was a seniors walking group. And I wanted to do I wanted to sign up even fifty years younger than the oldest say you're older. He's old people. What about pickle ball? That's, that's kind like steel down version of tennis. I see that I see that everywhere. Yeah. But I would love to be able to play tennis again. God, this is great great. I think it blows away golf, because you just can courts public courts that are pretty good. And you spent an hour, playing tennis hour and a half. And that's it with golf. I still haven't figured out why people love golf get this conspiracy theory. But people. You know, it's, it's a half a day to go play eighteen holes if not more Dr teatime hours out there. I just think don't wanna be around golf people, but my God talk about stuffy people. But I with, with golf, I think people realize if they're playing golf on a Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock they're successful. That's the way paint that. That's why if you're doing that it's like I played golf at three o'clock this afternoon. I must be important and I got in. So Tennessee just go out at six o'clock at night, after work and hit the ball around for an hour. Well, ten she got a. Guys, hitting the ball at you fast golf. You're just walking together only hitting a ball. Yeah. There's no yeah. Tennis is more competitive. Going mono mono with someone I hated playing doubles. I just didn't like playing playing singles. But with golf competitive, if fact money into it, but I think that, you know, it's much more of a status thing. There's also right? Ankle. Offers also. Bring cocktails with some general how. So that was probably the last guy that had a couple of pops on my tennis court. Did he really know? I don't know he'd probably showed up a couple times, hung over. He wasn't until he was like twenty six really never worked at it. He was so natural. He didn't need to like, Agassi Agassi was similar. Yvonne, Linda was different. He was a guy that was very regimented kind of Tom Brady or something on Tom. Brady's Twitter handle today with him on, like a stairmaster like the guys just non stop, you know. And that's why at forty two he's still right out standing. Yeah. Who knows? Who knows? I guess. I mean, we could also just.

"Great. Oh my God. Yeah. Goddamn, patriots still cover. So. So you know, you're getting old when? You know, you're getting old when you don't feel like you did even a couple of years ago. You get a cold. It lasts longer you get aid kit lasts longer. And I'm not that old. I don't think but I feel like I'm just there. I it's just driving me crazy. My mind is like thirty. So I remember going to guide telling me what what's your energy level? It's pretty good not bad. I do a lot. I do a lot of different things musician. You're you're a lot lighter than I am. I mean, so you're in better shape than I am I'm like to sixty five foot nine that's too much. Pretty good. Pretty good is. Yeah. Especially doing radio. I love doing this. This is like my favorite time of the day. But this times on weekends where it's just like you get up go out. Come back. Go out come back. It's not. Well, I run every day. Right. I'll do that. But what if you? Yeah. But if you saw me doing what I'm calling running. You're not going backwards. I. My run serious people can walk by my running. It's so slow. That's fantastic light. But I am moving. I don't feel like, but but here's something I said, you ran the marathon didn't you four. But what I said to something to Mark. You know, you're getting old when you go to a family event or party, whatever the first ten maybe even fifteen minutes are about how you got there. How the trap, of course, weather weather, weather is number one. That's not you know, all of this. I'll tell you. It's a crazy world because I make fun of you. But I I never even had a computer, and I still don't, but I have this iphone, but people would say to me, you gotta learn Email. And I said, but I waited I wasn't didn't intentionally wait. And now, it's so easy because you just put it all out phone. It's awesome. There's more power to your phone than there was back in the Apollo eleven national room number two thousand nine thousand. Yeah. There's more information in this little phone than in that. Yeah. No. You're getting old. When like this guy told me the other day. People now not watching television getting slapped on their fun. Yeah. Isn't that weird? I still can't go there, especially like sporting events or sports, you watch the Celtics game last night. I'm watching it on my my iphone. I'm gonna watch it on. All right. Listen. I have you only care. And now I have you on getting old because I'm going to go have a ball soup. That's a good one. Yeah. Listen, enjoy your liverwurst sandwich. You can jump in this. If you would tell me about the Celtics they Sixers last night, and they lost you guys still all against Kyrie Kyrie. Carey is not a true leader of the Celtics. No, they will not win the NBA championship carry on team. He's the best player clear. No last night was but yeah, I think he's he's a Volvo as a leader. But it may be too late. And I still I'm sticking with the he's going to New York with Kevin Durant at the end of the season. He will not be on the Celtics next year. But I don't to the Knicks. How about the nets also part of New York Knicks? I'm saying the Kevin Durant. Kyrie Irving wanna bring the Dixie title. They want to be the ones that save the Knicks. Let me tell you to a casual observer, I love kyri because I just love his moves offense. He's a great player on the court. But everything else does everything else around makes hit with the beard from Houston. James harden? Yeah, I've never seen anything like that. But it to me, it's exhausting. Trump. Yeah. It's twenty seconds handles all and then he does what he does. And it's it, you know, look the guy puts numbers you don't like to watch. I like I prefer efficient players. I sound like Trump. I prefer efficient players. He takes a lot of shots. He controls the ball for ungodly amount of time. I'm you know, I'm a huge LeBron James fan. Magic always control. But he was setting up. Everybody else who do you like to watch? I like watching LeBron James, and I like watching and Steph curry, I do I'm ashamed to say that me too. I agree. I love watching stuff like it is good as good and greatest great. Kyrie irving. I love watching. Kyrie irving. Didn't didn't get feet tall. Hit a shot. The other night almost half more than half. He's the he's the only player that's worth watching the NBA is truly Christian. Lebron James what is even worth watching this year? Disaster. No. But I mean, he's been in the league sixty I get that. You know, he has some exciting moments. When he tries to inbound the ball off the backboard that was interesting. All right. Listen, right. Because I'm going to go eat my sue going for one final question going back. So we are talking about individual players. I remembered teams do you remember that era? Detroit, Pistons, New York Knicks. Well, yeah. Terrible to watch. Because like the Knicks at the end of a half would have scored like thirty five points. Oh, yeah. Back that far game seven of the NBA finals in two thousand ten so talking nine years. Celtics and Lakers. Yeah. Eighty three seventy eight Lakers one game seven. That's that's a third quarter scoring the game has changed the skill levels at the highest it's ever been it really is. I think Embiid is seven one three hundred pounds. Whatever he is. He's draining threes last night. He's putting the ball on the floor. He took twenty one free throws. He hit twenty. Was that in Philly? Yeah. No, the skill level of the players today is just incredible. Kyrie Irving, maybe the twelfth best player in the NBA. Think about that. They can come up with eleven guys better than Cairo. That's debatable. Well, I can pretty good. It's just sad that he couldn't find his the chemistry could because he's a great player. It's too bad. We're going to be like we had him. Once you just didn't happen. It just didn't melt whatever it was Christian. You may have more insight on. No that didn't have why I don't know. He was hurt last year, and they played well they went to game seven of these two conference rivals and this year. I dunno to the young guys. Go look at me and go we're not listening to you. We've got to game seven without you. And we're like stagnant this year, we're not winning like we were last year. So why listen to why why should we listen to you? Retiree having listens to Brad Stevens. Either. The season started the big white kid is going to come back and be good. Yeah. Gordon hayward? Kitchen go we did this without Gordon Hayward in game seven last year of the Eastern Conference finals. And now you want to tell us what to do. No. We're not listening to you. And the way Kyrie Irving talks. It's like he's not even there doesn't even want to be there yesterday saying, yeah, I'm definitely taking days off. There's no way I'm finishing the season. I'm not to play management. I get that. But the way he said it's like he was gonna vacate like, we'll vacation talk. I agree. That's your leader, tell wolf it wasn't saying that now hope it probably doesn't it. Like superstars like divas. That's why the league is interesting. Yeah. You know, what I hate it for that? I mean, that's the way basketball is down a little humility goes a long way talking a little bit of these guys don't do things with Kyrie. He's like the ultimate contrarian. So you could surprise everyone in resign. Shootout it, but he could do that. But just to watch him my Lord. He's like a maestro. I used to belong to the LA sports club. I gotta deal. Donald sterling involved with. Teams would come in before they play the Celtics and they'd take the basketball court and one time the Lakers came in. Yeah. People were watching they put a big curtain because they will do and walk. They don't really practice. What they do is what they call walk. Right. Save your legs. I was thinking to myself is if you're a professional basketball player, you beat out a million people or something some crazy number. A million and want to make sure NBA. So your focus is on basketball. Then when you get to that level, you have to try to be a media personality. And so you got a lot of guys don't have it Jesus. Kawhi Leonard is one of the best players in the league. He's just not verbal, and he very rarely if ever talks to the media when he does it's three word answers kyri is trying to build a brand which is kind of different than some other players. She wasn't any of that. He's adult now isn't an underrated player player. Yeah. Great. Listen, I'm going to allow you to lead. Thank you, sir. Now, you can stay. All right. Thank you off the island. I all right. Good to see you. Thanks for dropping. Anytime. We come back, Richie it hours gonna call us. We're gonna talk about baseball excited and the last segment we're going to talk about politics way. That's fun like the horse race. How can you do that? It's called the horse. Right. Okay. All right bet on it in England. I don't know if we're going to get here. But we'll be back minutes. Sweeney Malone Joe is off making money somewhere..

"In Russia 's burgers, better quarterback ain't draft. Brought this burger looks like will Farrell. He does faculty feral will get in. I just don't think he deserves by the way. Now, really? Wait, wait. Hold on. No. I think Eli manning. We'll get in the hall of fame. I just don't think I bel- hall of Famer. Philly quarterback winsor with absolutely no, no, no, no. Looks looks like Prince Harry. Julius peppers. Yes. Okay. I think he's fourth and sat and he says just no playing. Tempered retiring now just missed the cut Tonio gates. Frank gore oftentimes mistake. The Niners rob gronkowski Giulio Jones Julio Jones. Yeah. Julio Daryl Rivas. Terrel? Suggs. Yup. Adam venit. Terry Yuccas kickers, don't generally go in on this time around and then Jason Witten. Okay. These players. I dance. Still playing. So they could be. Tight end. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's Molly was he now is he's unannounced. He's in the booth ESPN. No. Yeah. Yeah. So tired. So if gronk has one more year Goodyear. That's the thing if he plays another year and has another sixty catches for nine hundred yards and eight touchdowns and make put him over his blocking is off. They put two guys on them. There's a that's another guy that they have. Absolutely, absolutely. But here's the thing. He's he's gonna pilot three Super Bowl teams. They want a Super Bowl without implying the ones that beat Atlanta. He was out for the year. So I'm not taking what about. Now, he he'll be considered. I know steps not on board. But there are there are people in the NFL that are talking about element being hall of fame. I don't think he's going to get in. But I would be surprised. The best wide receiver in patriots history. Wide receiver would be Randy moss. Well, okay for a short period of time. I think of him. It's probably I would say. Stanley Morgan's numbers blow his way, really. There is a catch multiple with over. But you don't know what happened urban prior? There was a knife on table. Joe? You don't know the story happens fell off, and it just happened that let me let me tell you my story. Good. So we're backstage at Boston strong concert. Very exciting. There was. Who's the guy the parrot heads? What's that saying? James Taylor, Carole, king all these people. And I'm with my friend, Jack Jack says I want to get a picture with these guys hands a guy cameras as take my picture with these guys. So the guy taking the picture was that funny. He's five nine he's Christian site. Just. Yeah. Jack, not like an imposing figure in terms of his height while you talk about a courageous guy. All right. We're going to take a break. Joe? Okay. We're gonna except for. We love you know, that absolutely the best. I'll tell you. If there's a Boston Herald radio hall of fame, you're gonna get my vote on the ipad. Thank you as far as Christian goes. I wouldn't vote for him on the one hundred dollars Jeddah. Yeah. Yeah. I would start out. Joe's names, not even going to be on. On that note. "All right, Steve Sweeney here with this. We and Malone report number that the Jo Malone report. Yeah. Steve Sweeney Malone and our good friend. Johnny sap. We're gonna get in my good friend Christian. How are you Christian? I'm happy Valentine's Day. What did you can that kid from Harvard? He was good. Not as good as me. I think he was a threat to you know, he told me he told me he wasn't a big fan of yours Joe. And I. That's a different. That's a different. This is how we rumors. Yeah. No, you're right. That's fine. These back to school. Right. I told me the movie I did back to Tucker told me when I got back. They can only be one Harvard personnel video. So I said, well Tucker, you gotta go because Joseph. I thank you very much. Thank you. I'm I told you guys, and I'm very serious. I did go to Harvard bartending school. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's Howard button schools. Expensive is Harvard itself. It was two hundred bucks was one of those. You know, they always say midlife crisis early life. Sweney as a bartender. I know he'd be great. There was a guy. He's an Irish guy. But I forgot his name. Tommy, something Kelly. He was like an entertainer bartender. He had his own bars. You remember him on me something Jackie Gleason with the with the bar scene. Frankie frontier. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Bartenders some of them turned into radio host because it's kinda the same. You're asking you've got six different people in my day, right? At least favourite bartenders bartenders that are a little too cool for school. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. Like certain upscale get those in the tech guy. You came over. He said what's up? Yeah. I said what's up? Yeah. Don't you mean? Can I help you or something? Yeah. The fake accent. Yeah. Never good body just their body language. Yeah. You know, it's like, you know, I'm cooler than you are it's not your bartender now. That'd be like in record stores. You always feel like the judging you if you get a mainstream record the kid calling wreckage door number, right? But you know, what I learned a lot back when I was drinking, and we all did when I next comedy stop with bars upstairs downstairs and all of the really hot bartenders the women. That were married. They take off their rings. So the guy thinks he has a shot better for short. Oh, yeah. Ever shot, those ones that she used to say and may being an idiot. I think she meant it should commence. She say, wow, you made my day. And you realized she says that the Willie the wino- everybody. Hey, what's going on the world of sports? You guys what's on the topic of brains today? So I'm looking at. I'm looking at the cover of my beloved, and I want to jump in. Let's not because I want to talk about the Celtics thing you said earlier. The front page of eleven herald. So that all right. Very good. Joe? He's well, he's a co chair. Alright right giant, Johnny you. I'll show you the contract. Others a controversial. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't get when you please. The celtics. We'll school you on the Celtics all of you, not just you let me up bad mouth and Kyrie. Well, let me put it this way. The guided play in the last game he didn't play two games ago because of his knee and didn't play last night. What's wrong with that? And now he's playing in the all star game on Sunday. You tell me either Kyrenia take the greater rest if you need is really bad and don't play in the all-star game on Sunday or you play in last night's game itself is the student. He's gone from Austin, the better, the Celtics Celtics the Celtics won their last two games against good teams. Okay. They beat the Sixers, and they beat the pistons business is good the Sixers, but they're good. And they beat him without Kyrie last night. They didn't even have Rosia the team looks like a different team because Kyrie has the control the ball. He doesn't get ball. So would you say LeBron? Ron's out and then the Lakers win this. You get rid of lem. No, no because they don't win without LeBron. They don't win without. But I'm saying hypothetically, you don't say you're trading your best player just because the team win. They can't win a championship without Kyrie Irving. But I do understand where Joe's going with this. And I'll back it up with some numbers. So since he's been with the Celtics they're sixty nine and thirty eight in games. He's played which is sixty four percent winning percentage. He's missed thirty three games in the last two years at the Celtics in those thirty three games at twenty three in ten seventy percent winning percentage. So they played better without him in terms of those numbers. I get that. So this better without someone for few weeks. But it's it's the long the guy's a great few weeks. It's thirty three games thirty three games. And it was the final twenty games last year. They took that into the playoffs made all the way these conference finals now against the Cavaliers coach create the chemistry. It's not up to the plot. In the NBA. The NBA is ruled by the player Chuck Daly. Talked about this that you may rest in peace that they allow us to coach them. Why do you want him to rest and PC coach dirty players? Well, I need to hear from the somebody who's got an expert opinion. I think that the obviously the ceiling is higher if Kyrie is on the team. But as Joe mentioned, they just don't seem to win or mesh as well. When he's not on the court. I think he is all about himself. I think it's a very selfish player Kerry on Brad Stevens was on ninety eight five the other day saying he's encouraging Kyrie to play Sunday if he can because at least they'll get some I don't know some reps in running up and down the court to me. That's like the the Celtics have a fiancee in Kyrie Irving. They want him to sign a long term, and they don't want to piss them off. Right. They don't wanna make a mad. They don't want to tell them not to play in the all star game. They wanted to do what he wants to do. You know, what I don't understand word fiance. Get in them. The married do not Narragansett. The celtics. Is he gonna marry Stevens saying analogy marriage marrying Celtics metaphor metaphor going to be here next year? Now be here. Celtics would be glad to let them go. You know, watch her up some money. This is a great example of how Boston fans in Boston media, which you're always railing against Jo Malone turn on someone the first year. He was here. We were so excited to have him. Okay. But then what happened was he got hurt last March, and they were still able to get to the Eastern Conference finals game six game seven against Cleveland. The other part of it is before the season started. He's like, I'm I love it here. I hope you accept me to be a player here for you know, what this is. Talking about, you know, asked me again on July first. And then he does know anyone in the thing is with Kyrie carries had issues everywhere. He's gone. Ten games at Duke. He had an injury left. He went to Cleveland the first three years in Cleveland. They were the worst team in basketball. He didn't really want LeBron to show up and see about winning when the best player in the world goes to play with you. Able to spend three years together. He wanted his own T. Isn't that true of a lot of teams like when Kobe was playing with shock? I mean, it's aren't there a lot of egos floating around here. But that okay. Whose team that was was more of a discussion. Right Kobe or shack as compared to LeBron and Kyrie. There's no question who is this. Isn't it funny, though, if they were winning we wouldn't even be having this discussing a decent record that thirty seven and twenty one last year this time they were forty and eighteen so they're not that far behind, but we expected this team to win sixty games and be the number one seed right now they're tied with Philadelphia for the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference if the playoffs started today, they'd be played in Philadelphia in the first round that have homecourt advantage because they remember he secured the tiebreaker you remember the Walker Pierce days, and they weren't winning. They weren't very good. Other conference sells one team isn't winning. We go after them. Well, that's the way it works. I think it's one thing if a team is just not talented in. There are better teams. Okay. But this guy he's a cancer on the team. He's an absolute cancer. The team Marcus Morris saying we're not having fun around here in. You know, what's implied is he's making it not fun around here because he's bad mouth in the the younger players. You know, they're more concerned about this than winning and trying to be leader. And he doesn't he doesn't know how many leaders in the NBA right in football. Generally. It's your quarterback. That's still if you were to say the four of us needed a leader who which one would you would be. Good point. Yeah. Well, we're gonna have for lines heat up. Some let me let me give you some guys that were. This is an interesting. Sort of. Generational, but era kind of thing, remember Scottie Pippen. Yeah. So he, but you know, I think the most selfish thing I ever saw was one time. Michael Michael Jackson, coach Jackson fell as he wouldn't get off the banks. You remember that the game was not designed for Scotty Pippin drying. He wouldn't. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. You remembered coaches cook a really good player. The thing though. Again, you had Michael Jordan, clearly, the number one guy Scottie Pippin, clearly the number two guy. But let's not forget Jordan went away for two years. He took a sabbatical NBA. And the bulls weren't that much worse without Michael Jordan his final year in Chicago. They won fifty seven games in the championship the year. He missed. Wrath fifty five games. So again, but not the champion. The championship. And I believe Michael Jordan is the greatest player in the history of the sport. I do I put Russell to input LeBron at three. But as far as the way, you're judging it because the guy with the most championships Russell was put him number. But you simply can't judge it by that. I mean, Yogi Berra hill. I think it's someone is somewhat said actor what a ten game league. Then exactly there was basically the lake Celtic who made me angry. I was gonna say. Pede me off. But Joe's taught me. Yeah. That's good. That's guide from hot chili peppers flea. A one of them. He's walking around with this Lakers shirt Celtic, socket, Celtics. And all that there's a rivalry there. But wait, and then Spike Lee was teaching over at Harvard. Celtics fans get outta here. So to me as an entertainer, I would never say that you're talking about you're gonna come here and perform like Celtic saga. Here's the thing. I think a lot of people don't understand the history of the Celtics the Celtics for the most progressive franchise, not just in the NBA..

"Congo's. Did you know the Joey and you go Joe have no idea we're back on the arena. We live. Yes, we live. We've been life for a while. Yeah. No see was asked about the Congo's is what this is. Yes. Fan. So there was a story. I just brought this guy along I'd wanna talk. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. From India and he's suing his parents for being born, really? Did you see that? I did see that. But what a coup to be able to to get him. And he's he's an open book about this is one of the take questions may I I'm sure yeah. Sure. Robbie do you wanna talk to these guys? Because I they put it on the air step up to the mic over here. Yes. Right there. Right. There right there. Yes. Good. Okay. Guess I Ravi. Hello. Joe? How do you Ravi thirty twenty thirty three, and you you are an American citizen now from India from India, I'm a lawyer, my mother, and my father are also lawyers show, you're showing your parents for giving birth to you. Yes. I didn't ask to be born. And you're going to actually think that any jury is going to find that you're right and they're wrong. What what what what makes you think? This is. See the godfather part to. Yes. Remember when they brought in Frank Pantano. Sure. Yeah. I remember they patched out the ruby. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm impressed with you. American matter of fact, in India that movies, very big, but they they put it in India an Indian. The godfather in India has I think I'm out. They dragged me back. I would have done things. Mike not like everybody says, right? Always took care of your friend. Wow. So I'm suing them for this incarnation. Understood all I see Rian. I didn't want to be born this in. See I'll show what damages. I mean. How much you're looking for money. It's three billion in rupees Indian money, and that's about sixty seven dollars cat. So it's just a matter of making your point here that you didn't want to be born into this world. Have you might have wanted to be born? But I wanted to be part of the decision. The decision was made without my consent. And it affected me show. Would you consider taking your own life? No. I would I do that. Would you like to reconsider? Take my own life. I have a good life. So what do you do you practice law any particular type of law Indian Indian line, which is very different than American. Yeah. Yeah. We Senator the practice. I think. No. That's that's native American American Indian. All. Yes. Gotta make trips to Boston area often once in a while I'll walk what businesses here or what brings you to buy. I like I came here originally what you know, Columbus when he came to America, he thought this was India. I think didn't he. Was it? Columbus. I believe so one of them was looking this man smart who wasn't Columbus. Columbus looking for the new world. So he was looking for the newer Ravi. Yes. How do you Steve? How did you meet Steve was I have a cousin who is has a seven eleven. And I went in I saw him. And I saw Stephen we started talking and he told me did a radio show. So I thought I would combine. So at what age did you decide you wanted to see your parents for this agreed assaulting over the last year, we still talk each other? We're all very friendly. So so so you okay with being the first thirty two years. It's just that Michael last year you've been like. Yeah. What changed over the last few? Then I got dumped dumped. Yeah. That'll do it. And here's a question. I always get from Americans in an arranged marriage. Right. Yep. You can't get dumped. Right. You would think not. But you did I did. It was a real to her family. Sorry, why not sue her family than her family's got nothing there? Okay. Seven. So you have the I rearranged marriage rearrange is that an Indian law show. I don't want to in any way be dismissive of. I'm looking at you. You look like a bright guy Floyd. You you come to Boston here. Yes. I think you clogging up the courts, and you know, it's not your courts. It's the Indian I understand that. But to me, it it's repulsive that you have nothing better to do with your life than destroy your parents. It's stupid. It's stupid, you she. She should snap. Oh, we don't talk that way. Ause events. It's a sense of entitlement that you're gonna do ask you some careful Joe he may he may sue you. Good point. You ever been to Bonaire in India? I've never been to India anywhere. Okay. So you wanna talk about clogged up. See what you mean? I I love food, by the way carry the river Ganges clogged up. What do you think your chances of winning this case, very good? Very good. I've already got the rupees. The little condo upscale with rupees for all of the judges. And look I lost my temper now you're to pay them off. I lost by ten. I must say that you a gentleman breath. Yes. Do yoga. It's called YoM. Go ahead. I wish it did. You watch the patriots game the Super Bowl. I did. What did you think? I didn't want to see that man with his shirt off. That gross Adam LeVine, I didn't want. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Half time show me that seems very vain. Yeah. He took his shirt off and his pants off. And he had only a loincloth now that would be. Halftime show. Ravi Shankar would have been a great halftime show. Now, it's true. I know it the biggest sport in India is cricket cricket. And also soccer. Do you play either of those? No, I actually I'm the only one in the subcontinent, you know, it's a subcontinent India its second only to China in population. Yes. I'm actually one of the few boxers. Really? I get the much. Hey, you want to try me on? I look at them like Tyson. I say come on. And I see the fear and there, I know I can see the way you built you built. And you get a good reach. The weight off a jab the weight divisions in India. A little different a lightweight in India's actually. No, wait. Featherweight is an actual feather. It's an better heavyweight is like one hundred and twenty. With your shaved head. You actually have sort of a Ghandi. Look, I like that look, you know, what I wanted to say to Gandhi, I wasn't alive at the time. I would always wanted to say to him Gandhi have a bite to eat come on. Have a sub. Snap. Bacon cheese with onions. Well, when you go back to India, you'll be here for a few more days. I'm going to be here for a while. My my cousin has a house in Randolph and tonight's two bedroom and this eighty five. Some good Indian restaurants in Quincy, you should check it out Quincy Quincy's the next town over from Randolph Randolph where are we? Now. We're in Braintree Braintree. You know, what they say in India, but Braintree no not at trees. Not so many brain. Oh now, it's time to go. That's the end for your name again. Ravi ravi. We're gonna take a break from the Sweeney Malone. Did he say something bad now with the people of Braintree don't wanna be insulted like that from Ravi, right? Exactly. Right. So in them neck, I played it on his upbringing. I shouldn't have brought him. Yeah. No. That's okay. You know, what let's talk about the world of Joe Carroll. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think he's living the dream. I mean, he's in Winthrop. He's got the B. I can I ask a living large. Would you mind? If I asked him an uncomfortable question. Sure, I wish it would would you would you would you be honest with Joe Malone for you're asking me. I am. No. But I'm want you to participate Chris. Yeah. Here we go. Now, Ravi get back here. Yeah. To be honest, not in politics. So you don't have to please anybody. Would you want to run a BNB? No. Wouldn't I would? Christian. I it seems like an awful lot of work. So I would probably not want to live in your house. Yeah. Here's the beautiful part of it. They basically sleep and have breakfast there. And then you have to be there if you decide to. When they show up, and that's it. And that's it show show him around throw them. A couple of maps Boston explain how the public transportation works and. How many years have you been doing that for this is? This is our ninth year. Oh, yeah. Oh, all Mike those foot. But here's the thing. It's only. We have thirty thirty days in a month. We have three rooms. So that's ninety. Did you ever see the towers? Yeah. Is it anything? It's a lot. Like that. Really? We have some very funny guests, very sweet guests and every now and then. I wanna hear about the jerky guests well half of the time. It's it's not that they're terrible. I want to hear about annoying this. They've had a long day they've traveled they show up with a chip on their shoulder because the airline lost your luggage. They didn't get the car. They were supposed to get this show up at your house. And it's like everybody they've met in America. So far is disappointed. Oh from other countries. Oh, yeah. We got a lot of Europeans a lot of international people and they come in. And it's just you try to just try to detoxify them immediately. Just go look drop your bags would you like a Cup of tea or coffee, and you see the change come over them that. Okay. It's gonna be all right now for a moment. And then there are other people. There's no pleasing no matter what you do. Oh, I like these stories I say the being being Ireland and. They went overboard. It was like uncomfortable. Chase me down the street. Hey show, you don't want. I don't want for. Just have some coffee. Please enough because Irish breakfast is like garbage. It's like, Aw. It's the worst thing for your high slack and white. Dosages and bake and everything else that anything that can clog you're hot if you look at the Irish bred. What they call soda bread. Yeah. I'd like that lot. But they'll have they'll have white bread with that a mate the Irish bar is fantastic though. I really good. I was in a BNB and the RN islands west coast of Ireland off the coast wherever and I said, they offer me some wine and. I said I don't drink. And she literally said this to me she said there was a guy who came through here two years ago. It is funny. I think I stayed there. A couple of years. I don't know for me. I wouldn't want someone sleeping in my house. Well, we've established. Like a house guest either. Well, I can live with dogs, and that's it. Yeah. No. We sometimes have people that bring their dog to dog front is the is the part of the house where they sleep is that separate from where you are. Way separate nor way separate, but it's restroom and everything. Yeah. Beautiful. You know, I've never been to Jo Malone tells live in my house. Nice house. It's a beautiful house. When you go again. Can you take a picture of it for me? No question. Have you ever been Joe, I have not no? When they take away your cell phone. So they have a photographer at most of your events, take you can get pictures upon requests yet. You know, there's a reason it's like the bat cave. He's got the bushes that come down..

"Welcome back to the Sweeney Malone show. Steve Sweeney will be singing that song at the stolen theater right tonight. And again on Sunday because kinda just pick Jim doing his very, very good Jagger Jagger invitation, he's not going to be doing is one of his performances Sunday early afternoon against the patriots game you weren't here when he said. Yeah. But he will be asking people in the audience law. Yeah. Because he is a degenerate again. Usually self-professed generate gamble. He only performs for what forty five minutes set. So this is one song. He's in a play. Yeah. It's a nice play that he's gonna be in for two days apparently talented guy. Yeah. He does it all sing dance. Really? Is. He said he said he plays a janitor. Very nice. I get that right out. But a very talented said he plays a janitor, and like a nightclub whatever they're doing karaoke. And they ask anybody can sing. And they let them in any turns into Mick Jagger perfect. He's perfect for that. Hopefully, it'd be during a commercial break at the patriots chargers game. Plus, I think if I'm not mistaken, I think he's been asked to do the emcee role at the Oscars this year. Someone is did you hear they had the announcement today? They're going with no host. Yeah. No huddle should interesting. So what are they just go up the shoulders curtain comes up in the first people? Well, no, no, no. They'll have an airtight Trump's catch right up front. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That a. Really creative. You'd have Trump is the host. They might have Alec Baldwin. It's Kevin Hart was on with Kobe last night. And he said they would would have done this. He would have made fun of the actual actresses and actors and telling them, they should not become a mean. Wow. So be careful what you do in the audience, don't clap like an idiot. Whenever don't make a face when you lose whatever you just be normal to giving up. What his what he was gonna do gonna do? This is what we're missing. Yeah. Yeah. No to the Oscars. I wouldn't have watched anyways. But I think I would have watched it to see the Kevin Hart monologue. Just see what he had to say. I like Kevin Hart personally. But I would have liked to see how he would react to to know. Thankful they might have asked and those people like that. I made I told that joke. I did this. Yeah. They don't want to go through. It may two moment. I came onto a woman who worked for me. You know, they probably all felt like I'm not going to pass out seven years ago. The right back to haunt me. Canadians have done stuff in their stand up back twenty five thirty years ago. That they would never do today. But again, if you run the clip, and it seems like it was yesterday. On YouTube forks and watched on Rickles for about thirty seconds. He'll be six things that would've watch any episode of all in the family. Ready murphy. Yeah. Exactly. It's just Chelsea handler. And again, you say look Chuck Schumer. And by the way, if you say those things were inappropriate in retrospect, but given where the culture was at that time, we changed. Yeah. J- don't you say there's a statute of limitation? You're not doing it anymore. They tried to rewrite. What Mark Twain? Wow. Try to rewrite his great. Well, let's also there's a there's a quotas is if you want to know who's really in power look at the people you can't make fun of. Point. And by the way, was that by the way and look at the people who don't pay a price. Now. Hip hop the lyrics, the most vulgar most. I I think that's fine too. I. No, you're right. Yeah. And that's the thing comedy is by nature offensive, right? And by the way, when you when it's an equal opportunity thing, you know, where the Italian gets, you know. Takes ahead the African-American Irish Irish. The next, and you have certain types too. You know, so, but now it's like look we want to be treated just like everybody else, except you know, there's nothing funny about us. Please, please. Let's just admit that you can never never make sport of us. Yeah. So it's a new day. That's dawn. I mean Seinfeld with the shoop dots. Right. Yeah. Yeah. That's off limits. Geez. We've talked before the comedians don't wanna do colleges anymore. They don't stand up there. They don't want to offend anyone in whatever. Well, look people take the floor of the house for the first time in their career and berate the president. It's just or they use the f word. Yeah. And you just go. Well, that's fine. That's fine. Okay. All right. Well, I can get the woman used the I mean, Trump has said some things too. I mean, I think that's this day and age. Not agree. There's a difference between a private conversation on a hot, Mike and addressing a crowd. Addressing your crowd. So I think he I think with regard to the guys who kneel in the NFL he said something like five or something like that. Sets a little different under my point is. I don't care what side. Despite what anyone says anything. So my take on this whole thing is that watching that woman. And then watching Pelosi basically, take a walk on it and say, I'm not in the business of censorship. Here. I do think if a Republican White guy had said about Obama, we need to impeach that M F. It would have been calls for his resignation. It would have been calls for him to be chastised and banished and everything else. It just when you plug that in it wouldn't fly. No. Anyway. Hey christian. I wanna close on a different note. All right. Eight minutes. Okay. Eight minutes to go. All right. We're down to the final stretch here of Sweeney Malone without Sweeney. Okay. Just Malone today. Yeah. And every year we get to the point where at the end of the year we reflect on what has occurred, but what about predictions? All right. Does your another championship coming out of Boston this year? Mr. Mr. predictor, will I would say the only team that's probably gonna win a championship that I could see this year is probably going to be the Red Sox repeating repeating. I my prediction before the season started was back in like March April. This was what I said I said the patriots are going to play the Rams in the Super Bowl and the Rams are gonna win it. So I never had the patriots win the Super Bowl this year. I think they may get there. I just think it's a crapshoot in the AFC this year. Anyone any one of these four teams can make it to the Super Bowl? I think the patriots. Well, but they'll lose to the ramps and even if they play the saints. I think it'll still be a tough games they played the saints too. Who I think would be the other team? But you would predict the Red Sox. The Red Sox out of the four teams is I don't think the Celtics are going to win an NBA title. I don't think they can beat the gum the warriors. They also think that they have a hard time getting out of the way that blaming the Bruins. Let me just bring something up here. We forgetting the revolution. Automates.

"Radio. Welcome to the Sweeney Malone. Jo Jo Malone here Steve will be calling in about twelve twenty with me. The inimitable Joey Carol, and of course, Christian going a fixture a legend in the broadcasting world is whether say Christian. Hey jomo. Absolutely. It's nice to see you this week. I didn't see you last week early early and off me early. Tell. Could have no last week Sweeney wanted the whole showdown. Not surprising. Yeah. Yes. He is this isn't he and Johnson Jedi will be joining us as well. He's walking around somewhere here. Yeah. Christian any New Year's resolutions? No, I don't I don't do the news as listening because I believe the fact that if you make one you're going to break it within like a week. Now, you believe your perfect. I am why why resolve anything new. We'll stay with the plan that is true too. I mean, why would you wanna fix anything? When when you know, how about you, Joey Carol, nothing nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. I could have lied Joe. And said, yeah, I want to work out more. Yeah. I wanna get you off. I want that six pack eight pack thing. Knock don't lie and for my my New Year's resolution. I'm gonna see if I can let's see here. Be more prompt for these Swinney Malone shell. Already gone. Early last week. No. I just wasn't here. Why would you say was more ice cream? Have a nice little ice cream. How this was I didn't have breakfast didn't have lunch and I get these headaches. If I go too long, especially when I'm expending energy as I do on the swim alone shell Johnny sap. You look like you about to say, well, yeah, I like the year with the ice cream cone, you kinda like Kojak telly Savalas always would have the lollipops zone. Senator Lawley poppies got ice cream. That's that's good point. But but it's not something that I do all the time. I think you should you need a little sugar. What flavor it's a peanut butter one. That's really good. Some daddy's down at the bottom of the hill range. Nice plug. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. So the big issue. I think you keep hearing because not much more going on at the state house or political issues all about marijuana. And now the herald my beloved herald is reporting today that you can now order it, and they deliver it is that they will those talking about the Joe Carroll has an idea. That's the talk is that they will have delivery setup. And I think they should just partner with Domino's because they've already got a great delivery system in place, and what goes better with a bag of weed. I'm thinking pizza winks pizza wings and pot. But I mean, how how how serious is this this concept of delivering very serious. Oh, yeah. You know, why? Because they're going to sell it to the community. Look it's going to cut down on traffic there. Yeah. Yeah. And that's it and it'll do volume L increase volume, which increases tax revenue and everyone wants the bottom line is money. I don't care. It. Look, we know cigarettes are bad for you. They didn't outlaw them. They raise the taxes on right, right? So prescription you Mike is in. No, they may also figure out that people will be driving high. If they're getting it delivered. They're not going to be smoking on the way home, although you get it delivered. And now you've got a bag of pot around your house. Do you want? You just yeah, you're gonna go for rides and realize you don't have any chips. Now, you're going to take a ride and did you say that they've had the first big survey about medicinal marijuana? This fifty percent of the people have driven wall high. That's dangerous. Because even if people want argue about that part of it. I don't know what else happens if it's used with pills alcohol. I mean that woman that killed two children about a month ago in revere. She to have, you know, the mount Rushmore of all the things in our alcohol and pot and pills and sleep deprived and everything else and she had. Had a DUI for years earlier, and she just plowed in and killed a two month old and a five year old which is one of the saddest store jumped the curb right onto the median, and we lived not far from there. And you see all these little stuffed animals I start. I I was wearing red light right after it happened. I was screaming just put every profanity. I could just how wrong that is that that would happen. So now, we're going into a whole new world with that. And then when when does the casino opened up in every it's supposed to be June. Yeah. I'm I'm putting my money on the end of may. I think that'll open early get it in. It's pretty looks like it's pretty much just got to dot the i's cross the t's and all I'm concerned with is just making sure they have good buffets there. That's the only reason I'm going to stop gambling like seven years ago. So I'll show up to a great book. Yeah. Nine thousand nine hundred dollars. Lunch. I'll be asking. You know, what that'll that'll be the brunch place now on Sundays. Yes. Might be a good idea. Yeah. Because you probably can get all you can eat brunch. For nine hundred ninety five ninety five a couple of great places Jemma Barrett's and Charles s and does a pretty good job fifteen or twenty bucks on Sunday pick you up on Sunday. We'll do some damage absolutely prime rib cherries throw. Frank deeper squall use a North Korean restaurant or he's he's opening a restaurant or the best. And Nick Verano. Who else has any idea? What they probably have the typical, you know, like, a Bobby flay or one of those legal seafoods, but you'll have a couple of the heart chefs out there that will open and then big time entertainer. So what's the plan on that? We know I haven't heard, but I assume they will have some they'll probably do what they do at the borgata in Atlantic City where they'll have a mix of. News editions comedians and deejays are where they make their money DJ's come in and throughout the younger. I you know, when they had the club down in Quincy at marina bay. The DJ's got paid more than anybody else, but they made money Holly from one of those guys get paid fifty one hundred grand two hours, and you know, how can you make any money? They're charging at the door and nine bucks for a beer. Yeah. Eleven for bottled water. Yes. It's lost. Its good water. Looks like a shampoo bottle. It does. So. And you'll be able to take a boat from Boston to the encore. I didn't never that's supposedly going to be Donald be in the works because it's it also adds to the it's so much nicer than take an Uber taxi. Line. Yeah. And again that big building that's a bunch of hotel room so hundred hotel, which I'm surprised they didn't build more hotel rooms because I mean, you see these casinos in Vegas ridiculous. They're like seventy five hundred hotel rooms, and like you need that never it. But again, I think they're going to get most of their customers are gonna come for the day. By the way, you wonder if the gaming commission said. Yeah. Because all tell lobby in Boston. I mean, they're lobbying full fewer rooms. But it's also the word in the wind is that they bought up a lot of property in Everett. So they might have another another residents type property will open up down the street affiliated with the casino. Not a casino, but overflow if your way up and then sports betting, right and more and more states now states, it's still up for grabs in Massachusetts. It's it's not really where it's going to end up being New Jersey, though, is is a state that Rhode Island. Poppy is partly not as much as New Jersey. Everything is on the board. Yeah. No pun intended in a few other states. Maybe maybe Delaware. Delaware was also looking into. We know Oregon already was there, of course, Nevada New Jersey, you could already place a bet for when it'll be legal to place the Massachusetts. Exactly. So with the revenue for marijuana with the revenue from casinos. We should be getting tax cut pretty soon. That's significant one. No, no, no average property taxes are going up by really. Yeah. Everett's supposed to make close to thirty million dollars a year. Once this is up and running which would be about twenty to twenty five percent of their budget. I think the problem is like most people that win the lottery that go broke within a year. They've spent. Right. Yeah. They're shortfall with their education system in Everett where they were going to lay off ninety teachers last year, they were able to save jobs. But yeah, exactly they're going to need that money to keep their full force on board. So so now with the encore thing again, I would expect that there's going to be some name entertain as you mentioned DJ's, but on top of that. Nobody's called me. I figured. Are you going to do a residency? That's what they talked about before. But now there's nothing has materialized. My own lounge could go with American song Martin Martin, Josh earnest. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I could be a one man rat. I could go as John Pinette. Yeah. Yeah. So we have to have a group trip over to the encore when maybe we'll do remote there. I like it like it. Oh, that's a great idea. Maybe they'll give us lunch in a lot of places I've done remotes. They don't want to go for what we should just go for the money because lunch cripple that's true to really put a hurt on the way, we eat what I've been to those. You know, like the ones in Vegas when all said and done I mean at my advanced age now thirty nine you don't eat like you did back in your twenty. I don't know. Oh, jeez. Nineteen bucks. Then I'm probably make not that you're but really old people older than thirty nine. But you know, they're in their seventies and eighties. They kind of pick it the food. And there's just there's food costs are not that high. I get prime rib costs a lot even for the restaurant. But you could tell the. People there at the mount Vernon fifteen bucks. I'm getting hung subprime ribbon Jerry stones enshrined. I don't need. Scrambled eggs. Really? Just fifteen bucks on the low end twenty bucks on the high L, we'll make that. Absolutely. What's your favorite dish at the Malvern while it prime rib my favorite dish. If I was going to the electric chair tomorrow, I would have prime rib. Joe you're going to really. Yeah. Joe if you were going to the electric chair or even the day after but would you have is your last digest that food? I eat like I was in Italy. I would have maybe twelve main courses a salad, and you'd Ashwin accordion player. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The whole outright smoke a cigarette. Dial the cigarette in the dish. I mean, that's the old school stuff. Yeah. Yeah. It's just you know, you won't see me get chicken fried steak and a who like somebody. That's your last Ron what would it be? That definitely be some. Have a couple of nice, pasta dishes stolen as a wild boar. Because I like that whole and as last night at the winter primes good good copy bowl nays. Yeah. So I I do like tagliatelle with the the wild boar that I do I do something with a veal dish in there as well. Throw some type of a seafood in there. Maybe like a column. Ari front the Oslo something like that a spicy red sauce calamari salad. Obviously, you're going to do a rare steak. Absolutely have to have a nice prime rib on my end..

I don't think it's the smartest move of the Democrats who him because it doesn't mean you does not mean you get convict. The investigation start today. Right today is one they'll start naming different. They haven't said they wouldn't have. They went one at a time. The politics across his would know in front of the cameras when you meet him the first five minutes, he knocks you out CEO tight. But this flip flopping is just incredible flip-flopping with Trump. Okay. One moment he needs Trump support member that he gave during the prime commented. Sit down with him running frogs legs trying to be here for Terry state. And he's looking for his help when he runs for the Senate. Now, he's running. It's like he's he's bipolar when the president. And here's the other thing, you're not helping the people of Utah. When you make an enemy out of sitting president exactly they voted in the power over anything you want. You know, work with them. Also Romney could be like the McCain. And if he wants to not go with Trump and be like the guy who for twenty plus. This guys are still. No. But he made when Senator this may be his only time discharge one I actually think Romney would not have been a bad president. He's very skillful. It should be interesting though, just to see where Romney sucks voting when Trump wants to get things done. That's a good point. Well, the other thing is I thought Romney would have made a great president. But now, I wouldn't know which one would show up. That's a good point. But I'll tell you who did not show up today. Malone. I'll tell you who did show up and always shows up Johnny sap while I'm here. I have no. And my favorite producer. And I'm going to say this in America and Canada, Mexico. No, no.
